- 0:55Hello, everyone. Lovely people all around the
- 0:59world, I am Simone and I'm gonna feast and welcome back to.
- 1:04I was thinking Yeah, are still alive, guys.
- 1:08Sad what hit it. I thought that I was thinking,
- 1:14not sad but, like melancholic, I'm tired.
- 1:18Okay, it's me Rolf. It's rough out here.
- 1:23We just talked about this before we started recording.
- 1:26And I know, I know. But we just wanted to cut on.
- 1:30Come on here and say, hi. We're still around.
- 1:34We're still alive. All that good stuff actually
- 1:39funny enough. We actually had plans to do like
- 1:42a real episode and talk about a TV show.
- 1:46I don't know if I should say it now or just wait till it drops.
- 1:49Go to Netflix show. Yeah, it's a Netflix show but
- 1:52we're both very busy. So, I had to text her
- 1:55last-minute be like hey I'm not done with my notes yet so why
- 2:00don't we just do with ketchup episodes?
- 2:02Let our listeners know how we been.
- 2:07The last episode because these all these come out when they can
- 2:12at this point. Yeah.
- 2:14I mean, we're trying to keep the by monthly schedule, but, you
- 2:17know, it was supposed to be Bi weekly bi-weekly.
- 2:21Yes, that's what I meant by week is, like Glee schedule.
- 2:28That's what I meant. Well, now starting to turn out
- 2:31to be try weekly. Is that a word?
- 2:34It is now. I mean, why not.
- 2:36Okay. Hey listen, I say a lot of
- 2:37things where I'm like, is that actual warders is something I
- 2:40just made up, you know, that's how vocabulary comes to be, is
- 2:44like someone makes up a word that everyone just rolls with
- 2:47it. That's true.
- 2:48And then it becomes like actual dictionary.
- 2:49That's how a lot of slang words, actually, become real words.
- 2:54So if I say it enough and enough people here at, maybe I can
- 2:57create a word L Departed, the dictionary and I could be
- 3:01legendary and add that to your resume, right?
- 3:09A lighter note. Have you heard she hopes new
- 3:14album, girl? You're talking to a BTS stand
- 3:17over here. Of course I heard this thing
- 3:19out, bulb. What did you think of it?
- 3:22It it's really good. Oh, I think I just saw the shock
- 3:27because I wasn't expecting him to go this way.
- 3:30Like I remember when he was announcing his pre-release more
- 3:36and I didn't know what to expect.
- 3:38Spect. I think in my mind I was still
- 3:40expecting like you know, hope World Part 2.
- 3:44And then I saw the first teaser pictures and I was like is j.j.
- 3:48hope this is this still j-hope and I was texting like Brianna
- 3:54and personal sisters are here because I was so shocked and
- 3:57shocked and zarya was like, yeah, he talked about going into
- 4:00a darker side for a while. I'm like where the hell have I
- 4:03been? And she sent me the we verse
- 4:05like articles, I'm like, oh, that's why I didn't read this.
- 4:09Yeah, it was I didn't read all of them and the ones I did, I
- 4:13like skim through and we were talking about when they talk
- 4:15about their break. So I can't remember if that came
- 4:18out before or after Festa all that.
- 4:21Anyway, came out after if I'm not mistaken.
- 4:25I think so okay. Yeah.
- 4:27But yeah, what she sent me that snipping, I was like you know
- 4:30what? That makes a lot more sense
- 4:32because even like with hope world, I don't think people
- 4:34realize like the theme is very Awful.
- 4:38But like, when you actually take the time to read the lyrics are
- 4:41pretty dark like, Day James. One of my favorite songs from
- 4:45that mixtape, but if you actually sit down and read it,
- 4:49you're like, oh wow, this is actually pretty dark.
- 4:51I like stuff like that. So where they're, like, if off
- 4:53happy Vibes when you actually sit there and think about it,
- 4:56you're like, huh? So because I didn't know how to
- 5:01feel about more at first. More is definitely grown on me a
- 5:04lot more. My jam out to that like almost
- 5:06every day. So, I loved it.
- 5:09I saw more, I haven't listened to his album yet, but when I was
- 5:12really good when I heard more, I'm like, yes, I love this dark
- 5:16side of him. And for those of you thinking
- 5:18job, for some reason, I kind of knew that whatever his next
- 5:21album was going to be would be a little bit darker than what he
- 5:24usually is. Yeah.
- 5:26Just because like, when he was part of the group, right?
- 5:29He was always like the bright, the sunshine.
- 5:32Obviously everybody has a dark side too.
- 5:34So I had a feeling he would kind of let that out sooner.
- 5:37And I feel like I said this before, like they've even said
- 5:40that bright side. It's not really like the real
- 5:43him. Yeah.
- 5:45So, I feel like this darker side shows more of like the real him,
- 5:49which I really like and appreciate.
- 5:52So, I always appreciate the dark side.
- 5:55More, the feast, your just are called General.
- 6:00Yeah, we start talking to, you realize, like, oh yeah, like
- 6:05remember like when we were at the library, And I think it was
- 6:10Sugar song. What was the song like hope?
- 6:13World had come out and his other one had come out.
- 6:15Sugar goes other song are, you're not talking about Shadow
- 6:19from map of the Soul or you? I think it was Shadow, okay?
- 6:23So you're talking about ego, then ego and Shadow, when
- 6:26they're playing, what you showed me, both of them.
- 6:29You ask me, which one? I like more.
- 6:30Oh yes. You're like, I like Shadow more.
- 6:34You know what, you remind me of your mind.
- 6:36Me of praia from turd, egret. You are her in real life.
- 6:41The living breathing example, I guess.
- 6:44Yes. Yeah, I enjoy darker concept
- 6:47more. They're just more.
- 6:49Relatable. I guess for me.
- 6:51Mhm. Yeah, I tweeted on our podcast
- 6:54sweater because I'm really the only one that uses it.
- 6:57I don't have a favorite song right now.
- 6:59I really enjoyed. What songs, weren't they?
- 7:04No, I don't remember. I really enjoyed stop and safety
- 7:09zone. And what if, so, right now, I
- 7:13think those three might be, but, you know, it can always change.
- 7:17That's why I like when me and Macey play the game.
- 7:19Sometimes I don't like doing them on First Impressions
- 7:21because sometimes my first impressions on songs, always
- 7:23change. At least I could be like, oh I
- 7:25don't really like this song. Ten days later I play it like
- 7:29every five minutes. Hmm.
- 7:31So especially when it's like always played around you.
- 7:35It's like okay. This one's actually not that
- 7:37bad. Well I mostly play it.
- 7:39Like if my phone knows like the artist you know the algorithm
- 7:43that I left him or they're going to play them more because I
- 7:45don't listen to the radio. Me neither now that I think
- 7:48about it I don't think I've listened to the radio and like a
- 7:51very long time and it was funny because like there's that new
- 7:55Jack Harlow song. I think it's is it called first
- 7:59class. I know it's samples froggy song
- 8:02glamorous like I went to a dentist appointment And when I
- 8:06turn off my phone, you know, when I unplug it the radio comes
- 8:10on so that was playing. And then I went to my dentist
- 8:13appointment and then when I got back in the car, literally two
- 8:15hours later I turn on the car and that's all I was playing.
- 8:17I'm like damn this song just play it stops just for you.
- 8:21Yeah. Apparently I have even heard
- 8:24that full song so I can't even tell if I like it or not.
- 8:26I don't really care. No offense.
- 8:29Yeah, I've heard that full song. I've just heard like the sad but
- 8:33of it. Yes, and I bits that they use on
- 8:35Mike. Tick-Tock as an audio.
- 8:38Hmm, but yes, everyone's to go stream.
- 8:41Jack-in-the-Box. Mmm.
- 8:44Good stuff out stuff. Yes, you'll have to let me know
- 8:48when you actually listened to it.
- 8:49I would like to do it all when we review, but I don't know if
- 8:51you want to, we don't have to, but just put it in the back of
- 8:55your mind. Hmm.
- 8:57If I ever get the chance to like sit down and actually listen to
- 9:00the whole thing, I will let you know only 22 minutes long.
- 9:03I don't think you'll take it's very short.
- 9:05There's tests all but the each song is actually not that long.
- 9:10Oh you do it in 20 minutes. Alrighty I shall let you know
- 9:15and I really like this music video for arson.
- 9:17Gotta watch that too. Hmm I was also getting like I
- 9:21felt like even though I'm not famous fomo like seeing he had a
- 9:24listening party it was inviting like all He's Korean artists.
- 9:28They look like they're having fun.
- 9:30I'm so happy for them. Yeah, I'm liking that they
- 9:35decided to venture into solo activities.
- 9:38They see much more like relaxed now.
- 9:41Yeah, and all the members were there supporting him except for
- 9:45you Andy, but we found out that he was feeling sick, so that's
- 9:49valid. He was afraid.
- 9:50He might have caught Kovac and came out negative though.
- 9:52Thankfully, thank God. Yeah.
- 9:54But this morning as we were coordinating, Big, I saw online
- 9:58that apparently, he showed up and he performed that that was
- 10:01PSI at one of those like, huge festivals.
- 10:02They've been having lately. I Korea.
- 10:04So, yeah, like I said, they're all living their best lives and
- 10:09I just love to see it as a fan. I love to see it.
- 10:15I know plus 2, when he's interviewed a lot of other like
- 10:20K-pop artists and I listen to. So, that's another reason.
- 10:24How is easier to always see him popping up, right?
- 10:27I always like, seeing a lot of the interactions I saw on take
- 10:31talk to wear have him and is Amber Rose.
- 10:35I think that's her name. It's just a it's not Amber Rose,
- 10:38someone completely different just a her name is Amber.
- 10:43Amber Rose's someone. Completely different, a roses
- 10:48you know what I don't even know what she does but that's a black
- 10:51woman who used to date Kanye and has a child with Wiz Khalifa.
- 10:55Okay, well I don't know where that came from Amber from FX but
- 11:01like my favorite meme of him is there like I don't know what
- 11:05they're doing. They're eating like watermelon
- 11:07and she's like telling a really popular video.
- 11:11I think that went viral. It's like your dog is being
- 11:14Chinese. Yes.
- 11:15Yes. That one and he brings out up a
- 11:18lot too. I've seen that clip to he's
- 11:22effortlessly funny and I love that in a person.
- 11:25So it's very charismatic and he was when we saw him in person,
- 11:30he was just as funny and charismatic.
- 11:32So it is he's not added a dissing funnier.
- 11:37Oh my God. I don't think you can fake that.
- 11:41He's also funny and like a turkey way, but he liked
- 11:44Embraces the dorkiness. So I appealed to that because I
- 11:49feel like I'm an awkward type of funny.
- 11:50I'm not taking that funny, so We can relate to that Auto lot of
- 11:56levels. Okay, so let's get into some
- 12:00facts before we horribly guess each other's favorite songs by
- 12:04are exhausted so to begin. At this point, we're not really
- 12:12playing for anything. This is this all fun because we
- 12:14don't live near each other anymore to, like, do prizes and
- 12:19there's a certain point where we feel were.
- 12:21Yeah, this is bragging rights because when we were, we were
- 12:24both broke at the time. So we kind of had to stop that
- 12:26to avoid. Yeah.
- 12:30Girl, September 1st came, happy late birthday, Jungkook.
- 12:35And I was like, damn, I gotta pay my bills.
- 12:37Again, you again. I just paid And you last month,
- 12:42right? Just keeps occurring.
- 12:43What the heck? Happy layer early?
- 12:46Birthday Nam June, because it's on the 12th, and I don't know
- 12:49when this episode is going to come back now and Shameless,
- 12:51plug stream, sexy noon, Kim with him and bombing tiger, for clear
- 12:55skin and feeling sexy. Okay, let's get on to the game,
- 12:58shall we? Hey, have to support my bias.
- 13:04Okay. Good game.
- 13:10I guess I'm not really surprised by your choices.
- 13:15I just wasn't sure what to pack like nothing was like you know
- 13:19black swans. Her favorite BDS song moment,
- 13:21you know you please tell me when fire and ugh and the ciphers
- 13:34exist like okay no that's your fault.
- 13:38You should have beliefs. No one with the cipher this and
- 13:42we did album by Alma. We didn't even list like which
- 13:44ciphers the for. So just saying, I guess it's a
- 13:49great song. I still need someone from hives
- 13:51to put the orchestra version on streaming, please.
- 13:55Thank you. It's been two years.
- 13:59How many more times do I have to beg?
- 14:05Okay. Well anyway, not to end on a BTS
- 14:07note, but I love Eric nam. I think he's super funny and
- 14:11talented than guys should go with into him if you don't
- 14:15already. Yes.
- 14:17And look out for his movie transplant.
- 14:20I don't know what, like, how big of a role he has in that.
- 14:24But I mean just to see him pop up is gonna be awesome and like
- 14:27a psychological Thriller that that's going to take some
- 14:29acting. It's not like they can get away
- 14:32with like comedy or something. So what's I'm sure he can pull
- 14:35off. Yeah, I also forgot to mention
- 14:37him and his brothers, I think it's airing in Korea, are doing
- 14:40like a little variety thing of them being in Korea, but I don't
- 14:45know. But the name of it is I just
- 14:47remember sometimes seeing clips of it.
- 14:50So there's also that but it's hard for me to really find a
- 14:54place to watch like Korean variety shows like it's easy for
- 14:57me to find places for dramas not variety.
- 15:01So yeah. Eric's.
- 15:04Great. If you ever get a chance to see
- 15:05him, like in concert, it's amazing.
- 15:08I still won't forget also because we met Rihanna who has
- 15:12been on the show before and her sister was there and they had a
- 15:15ginormous sign. I think I posted it on Instagram
- 15:18where did? It's a Big Titty Committee.
- 15:21Yeah and it's so yeah. You guys need to go on her
- 15:24Instagram. If you don't already follow us
- 15:26there because I actually got it on tape where like you can see
- 15:30he's trying to avoid the sign because they're right front and
- 15:32center. And he's like, I don't know.
- 15:36And he's like I cannot read these signs out loud, guys.
- 15:39You're going to get me in trouble, and it was just funny.
- 15:43Thank you so much. He started know IBM did, but
- 15:51what I think they started off of Kpop daebak because GM was one
- 15:55of his very first, like, yes on there.
- 15:59And he says it all the time but we're saying he encourages it.
- 16:03You Courage is it and he's part of it too.
- 16:06Come on now. Give yourself some credit Eric.
- 16:08Yeah. But it's just funny.
- 16:10So if you guys want to see that clip and just other clips from
- 16:12the concert back in March, they're on our Instagram.
- 16:17Yeah. So I'm pretty sure what's up
- 16:20Wildfire live so you can experience that with us.
- 16:23Well, remember if I post that or not, did I post that?
- 16:25It's been so long, I'm sure. So it's out there.
- 16:28You could Google it like, are you two?
- 16:30So I'm sure it's on YouTube. I'm sure I'll feel embarrassed
- 16:33myself. when we met him for like the two seconds to get our
- 16:36picture, You didn't really talk. I didn't really talk.
- 16:41I said, I think I said something about the show being great, but
- 16:44I got really nervous. It's fine.
- 16:47I mean, cause like that's why I'm not the person were.
- 16:50Like I really don't care to be celebrities was like, what do I
- 16:52say to them? Nothing.
- 16:59Yeah. I'm just this awkward so and I
- 17:04don't know something, what was it?
- 17:05Wentz we're still in the age of like obviously.
- 17:08We had to wear masks. So like I was trying to like,
- 17:10give him the thumbs up and because I can't smile like you,
- 17:13I'm just staring at him. Yeah.
- 17:15So but like I don't know if I, I can't remember if I mentioned it
- 17:19a long time ago when we talk about context we went to but I
- 17:22do remember I mentioned like it was sweet because like before
- 17:25covid if they kind of did like the same group setting where
- 17:28it's like just a bunch of five people take pictures with him
- 17:31and I went by myself. So like I didn't have anyone to
- 17:33take pictures with so they ended up grouping me with only like
- 17:36two other girls. So instead of the five,
- 17:39thankfully, I didn't post that picture because I didn't know
- 17:41these people. So, but like there was a point
- 17:44where I was kind of like standing off and he was kind of
- 17:46like Kim closer. It's okay.
- 17:48You know we don't bite so he made sure I was in the picture
- 17:51which I appreciated so being my shy self but yeah, very nice
- 17:58human. Yes.
- 18:01And I wish him all the success and I hope he blows up a little
- 18:03bit more in America because like we know how it is.
- 18:07Especially with artists because like we don't really besides
- 18:12Kpop, especially in America. We really don't have a lot of
- 18:15like pop artists that are like Asian know, if you think about
- 18:19it, unlike a mainstream type sense.
- 18:21So I'll be garnishes more fans over here.
- 18:26Do maybe the movie will help a little bit.
- 18:29Yeah. And like how hopefully they
- 18:32don't just associate him with like Kpop so, Hi and welcome
- 18:39back to. I was thinking I'm nervous, I'm
- 18:42an alien Superstar. You don't get that reference to
- 18:46you. I don't know.
- 18:48From cultured for Beyonce's album.
- 18:55Renaissance unique yeah all that good stuff.
- 18:59I don't know before we started. So that's why one of my favorite
- 19:03sides? Yeah album I'm Simone.
- 19:08I haven't heard Beyonce and such a long time though.
- 19:13The Beehive might come for me. I say this mmm, you know, I'm
- 19:17just going to say it's fine. I-i'm it's not like I'm not a
- 19:21big Beyonce fan, it's just that I feel like she is an artist
- 19:27that you need to listen to her albums and I'm more of a singles
- 19:31girl. So that's why specially early
- 19:34y'all say albums, unless it's like really popular ones like
- 19:38songs here on the radio, I know. But like yeah but like as I've
- 19:43gotten Older and listen to more albums.
- 19:47I've taken the time to listen to her new one, and it's really
- 19:49good. So awesome.
- 19:51Yeah, I don't listen to albums either.
- 19:53Whatever's on the radio. That's, that's what I know.
- 19:56I mean, I don't even listen to the radio anymore.
- 19:58Really know. I feel like we've talked about
- 20:00this. Yeah, we probably have.
- 20:02I turned on the radio after a really long time, like, last
- 20:06week only, because my phone was dead and I could not use
- 20:09Spotify. So yeah, I'm happy Spotify user
- 20:12these days. Well, I Use apple music.
- 20:14But anyway, we're not here to talk about music.
- 20:17Defeats, how are you doing? I'm doing good.
- 20:20How about you? One of my favorite like webtoons
- 20:27and I feel like Joe's. I'd probably put it up there as
- 20:30my new top ten on ten out of ten.
- 20:33No. My new top, tell your new like
- 20:35ties. Top 10 shows.
- 20:36Gotcha. And I really enjoy.
- 20:38Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:39One of the other reasons though why I gave this one.
- 20:42A shot was because of the main lead like Kim galloon like she's
- 20:47done Goblin. I loved Goblin and I'm watching
- 20:51that and I never finished. I think I Did I even finish the
- 20:56first episode of that? I think that was a lot of time.
- 20:58I was trying to find stuff but like I wasn't really interested
- 21:01in anything. Maybe I'll go back and try to
- 21:03re-watch it know, I loved her and goblin-like.
- 21:06I loved Goblin. That story was just so epic.
- 21:09And then I saw her in. It was the other one.
- 21:11You recommended me cheese in the Trap.
- 21:14I believe it's called loved her and that too, she's in that.
- 21:19Yeah, who does she play? She's the main lead.
- 21:23Oh my God. Is she really?
- 21:26It's been so long since I watched cheese in the Trap.
- 21:29The fees. I don't remember.
- 21:30Yeah. Because her hair color was
- 21:32different. I didn't recognize or something
- 21:35Otis. Yeah.
- 21:36Because also because that was around the time I was still new
- 21:39to web drama. So I recognized one of the
- 21:42characters from weight lifting that weight lifting show.
- 21:47I remember this little team fairy.
- 21:50I don't know the full name. Yeah, the main girl in that show
- 21:53is also with us always more focus on Yeah, she was second
- 21:56lead in that show, okay, huh? Yeah, I'll definitely need to go
- 22:00back and re-watch it. I didn't know that.
- 22:03You know she's in a new show as well.
- 22:05The girl who plays you me. The starting to come out on
- 22:08Netflix. There's a show.
- 22:09It's Little Wonder Woman. Yeah, no idea what that's about
- 22:13either but I'm interested. I'm going to wait until all the
- 22:15episodes come out to watch it. So of course you are.
- 22:20I can't know. I heard Netflix might get rid of
- 22:22binging, really might go with to I've Hearing rumors because they
- 22:26want to start adding ads because they've been losing tons of
- 22:30money. So they might start going into
- 22:31once a week, although they've been doing that for Korean
- 22:34dramas. Anyway, they've been doing two
- 22:36episodes a week. Other shows, they might stop
- 22:39dropping full seasons. I've been hearing the rumor mill
- 22:44going around, so we'll see. Well, whatever.
- 22:47The case I'm going to wait until they all come out.
- 22:50Okay. Yeah, because that would be
- 22:52crazy if they just got rid of it as it dropped, like that's
- 22:54weird. Do you know what's funny?
- 22:56I saw it. Sweet.
- 22:57I wish I remembered the username, but like, they are
- 22:59talking about basically, like, how all these companies are
- 23:01doing murders. Now, they're all going to become
- 23:03one big company called cable like, yeah, thinks you'd be see
- 23:09how things go back, history repeats itself.
- 23:12I see history repeats itself. There we go.
- 23:15I couldn't think of it. Oh my goodness, you know, like I
- 23:19was thinking about it because I was having this conversation
- 23:22with a co-worker the other day and they're like, oh yeah.
- 23:25Being up with the show in the show and they're all like three
- 23:27different subscription sites and I'm like you might as well just
- 23:30pay for cable and like you know get it all at once.
- 23:35But you also have liked the flexibility to to go to pick
- 23:39whatever you want to watch instead of like going by a
- 23:42certain timing but I don't know. Yeah, it's different in cable
- 23:46because you don't have to be on a time slot and like if you miss
- 23:49it you miss it. Like you said, you could just
- 23:51pick shows and watch whatever. But at the same time there's
- 23:54just so many Many we're getting like overwhelmed with like so
- 23:57much content. Yeah yeah I do that's why I like
- 24:03prices for everything is going up like I got a notification for
- 24:06my Hulu. It's going up like a dollar, 99.
- 24:09So is my Apple music. I'm like, oh my God, I'm still
- 24:13in shock though, not relevant to our topic whatsoever.
- 24:16But like Netflix for two people, is $15.
- 24:22What that is so crazy to me like her.
- 24:25Accounts. So crazy, it's getting bad out
- 24:28here that's that. It was at that price for like
- 24:31their highest resolution, not like package their new packages
- 24:38like $21 the guac, I never knew how Netflix did it as far as
- 24:44their different pricing ranges. Because I know with Hulu,
- 24:47they're different because it's like, oh you can be a bundle
- 24:49with like Disney plus and ESPN or like you can pay this price,
- 24:54but you have to watch a Ads or this price without the ad, so
- 24:57that understood but not with like Netflix or I don't know
- 25:01what other streaming sites don't use ads.
- 25:04They did it by person. Okay, so I think the, the
- 25:08cheapest one that Netflix has is like one person and it's like
- 25:11the worst video quality or like standard as they call call it.
- 25:15Now you saying the worst video quality?
- 25:18It is it's grainy, it's ugly, it's not worth it.
- 25:20You know, back in the day that used to be the best know.
- 25:25And then their middle won their second Tire.
- 25:27One is to people and then you get HD and then their their most
- 25:33expensive. One is like about up to four
- 25:35people and then you get have, like, HDMI Ultra HD or something
- 25:38like that or like 4K is that intimidating.
- 25:41So work a thing now. So that's how they're rolling.
- 25:44And I'm like, that's crazy. That's interesting.
- 25:49Let's get back to you because I because we got way off topic so
- 25:53relevant in like the TV world, Aspect.
- 25:55Yeah. And then when they went to the
- 26:01coffee shop, he got hit in the face with the door.
- 26:04Yeah. But her reaction though, to the
- 26:06dad joke was just like, what, what, how do I respond to this?
- 26:11So interesting. What was the first dad joked
- 26:14that? He said, do you remember it was
- 26:15something about? Was it the clock one or did he
- 26:17say something? L time on?
- 26:19I think so. Yeah, I'm one, but it was just
- 26:22interesting because like that is you can tell he's not her type
- 26:25of humor, so it was just like, okay, ha, ha, Keep face, Type
- 26:30thing. Yeah, I don't I don't I don't
- 26:32know if I should say that the joke or not because like again,
- 26:36I haven't practiced my Korean yeah.
- 26:37While I don't know if I'll say it.
- 26:41Probably English translation of it.
- 26:44I don't think it'll make as much sense in English.
- 26:47I right. But essentially, it's just a pun
- 26:50about time. Yeah, he, she's asking what time
- 26:55it is. When is it?
- 26:57I don't remember the joke, but I just thought it was funny, I can
- 27:00do it. But yeah, and he says Soul, she
- 27:05which sounds like something else.
- 27:07I think it's soul ties. Thus, yeah, we have soul and I
- 27:12don't remember what else is supposed to sound.
- 27:14Like, I actually don't understand the joke, but I just
- 27:17understood, it was supposed to be a dad joke, which made it
- 27:19funny. So if you if you watch it on
- 27:23Vicky they say the joke and parentheses translated.
- 27:26I just don't remember what it's supposed to sound.
- 27:28Like I do not remember either. Well, the English Insulation in
- 27:33the webcomic, the joke that he acts is.
- 27:36Why couldn't the bike stand on its own?
- 27:39That's what that was. That's not the vibe.
- 27:41I got, I'm asking, I'm asking you that's what it is, but the
- 27:47fees. Why couldn't the bike stand on
- 27:48its own? I don't know, because it was too
- 27:52tired. You find this funny.
- 28:06You're dying. I'm going to use that now.
- 28:10Oh God. Please don't.
- 28:12I love dad jokes. They are so hilarious.
- 28:22I had a discussion with no fees before we started recording.
- 28:25And before we actually talk about the show, I want to bring
- 28:28up something, might be a little bit controversial.
- 28:31I mean it shouldn't be, but you know how people are.
- 28:36Yeah, I said I was going to do a better job at just like, talking
- 28:40about stuff. That makes me uncomfortable,
- 28:42will me bringing this up change, anything probably not, but it
- 28:46doesn't hurt to bring it up. You know, bring awareness.
- 28:49Hopefully, it makes some type of change or makes like our
- 28:52listeners think. And if they see something like
- 28:55this as well, get the discussion rolling, so change could happen.
- 29:00But as we know in the history of Television movies, everything
- 29:05around the world, you need sponsorships to make shows go
- 29:09through. So especially in like Korean
- 29:12shows the. I me so obvious not obvious the
- 29:16fisa she didn't notice about product placements, you know of
- 29:20companies just not They're one. Just that particular one.
- 29:23Yeah. Okay.
- 29:25Let's hope way they make it very obvious and then, you know?
- 29:27Yeah. Like she said, product placement
- 29:29of like things that sponsor the show, like, subway, I think
- 29:33Chevrolet let do, I don't know if I'm pronouncing that car
- 29:36company. Correct, so I thought it was
- 29:38Chevrolet or something like that.
- 29:40I don't know. Sure.
- 29:42Things like that. I never had to say that word out
- 29:44loud. I never have either.
- 29:46Like, we all know what I'm talking about.
- 29:48The car company with the little like like, T.
- 29:54It's also known as a Chevy, right?
- 29:57Yes, Chevy. Okay, so just product
- 30:00placements, like that, you know, sometimes in like songs, you'll
- 30:04hear them. Shout out like Coca-Cola,
- 30:05Sprite, y'all know what I'm talking about.
- 30:07So there is a particular coffee shop.
- 30:12That is a real coffee shop in South Korea that they go to
- 30:16frequently. It's shown in season 1 but not
- 30:21as much as season two like they show it.
- 30:23All the time and season 2, they're always at that coffee
- 30:26shop so the name of it is called and I don't think I'm going to
- 30:29pronounce this name correctly, more Rita's Brown.
- 30:34My route is how you pronounce it.
- 30:36It's not that. It's based off the country right
- 30:38named after the country. Yes, my artists here.
- 30:40Okay. So you're aware of the country
- 30:42because I had to do some research before I called you
- 30:45because I didn't know anything about this, even with the
- 30:47controversy that comes up. So it's named after the island
- 30:52of the Same name, which is in the Indian Ocean off, the east
- 30:56coast of Africa and I actually looked up the map to see where
- 30:59it is. So it's a little bit closer to
- 31:01Madagascar. I would say it's off like the
- 31:03Southeast coast of Madagascar. So they still count it in the
- 31:07realm of the continent of Africa.
- 31:11So they named it that coffee shop because I guess they use a
- 31:14brown sugar from it. Like the brown sugar cane?
- 31:18I don't know in their coffee. Or like, like, they just don't
- 31:22know how That works. I'm sure they sell out there but
- 31:25that's not the issue. I mean, issue with this, like
- 31:28coffee shop is that great? That's great.
- 31:30Why is your logo of a black woman?
- 31:36Mmm. And there's no one from that
- 31:40island or like even of black to set that is a part of this
- 31:48company. It's just and people who aren't
- 31:53like black or just going to listen to this like why does it
- 31:55matter it does? Because it kind of comes off as
- 31:59like characteristic. Not characteristic.
- 32:02What's the word? There's a specific word for it.
- 32:06Yeah, like character, like how they did back then menstrual,
- 32:10you know, things like that, where they would use Aesthetics
- 32:13of different culture and no one of that culture is behind the
- 32:17actual product. Mer creation, you know, things
- 32:21of like that because it's like, they give her an afro.
- 32:26And then she, I don't know if, you know, well, you didn't even
- 32:29notice the logo, but like, if you look closer to she's wearing
- 32:31a bandana and the colors are red, yellow and green, okay?
- 32:36So yeah, what are the colors represent?
- 32:39Well, apparently supposed to represent Africa, but I'm sure
- 32:43just like, most people, people keep forgetting Africa as a
- 32:46continent and not a country sometimes different countries.
- 32:49He's and Africa that have their own different colors.
- 32:52I know a lot of them are red, yellow, and green, but not all
- 32:55of them are. So that's just another thing,
- 32:58where it's like, again, guys hard for me to explain this
- 33:01type, but again, it's just don't feel it's necessary.
- 33:07Like they could easily took may be found with the sugar cane.
- 33:12Looks like, it made like a logo based off that.
- 33:15Mmm, I just don't see the point of it.
- 33:19Logo itself, bothered you. Yeah, I can see why, especially,
- 33:25especially since there's nobody, like, I think in the article was
- 33:28saying there was like, no person related to that Island, things
- 33:32like that, it kind of reminded me of that one show, shooting
- 33:37stars where the main you have you seen that one?
- 33:40No, I didn't see it. I know of it by and watch it.
- 33:44Like I've seen it when I scroll through Vicki but the main lead
- 33:48goes to Africa Rica for like a year.
- 33:50And then I think that bit was controversial to just because of
- 33:54like the appropriation and everything but yeah.
- 33:59So let's see it everywhere. I mean, yeah.
- 34:05Hey guys, I'm coming in real quick.
- 34:07So when I was going through and listening to this and editing, I
- 34:12just realize, it's not even the logo.
- 34:14I have a problem with it's also the name because it's called
- 34:17morita's brown, but the country is this called Marita's.
- 34:21So, did they have to add the brown at the end again?
- 34:26I know it's from a brown sugar cane but still, it bothers me
- 34:32because this is from a pretty Your predominantly Black Island.
- 34:38We're all brown, you're going to add the word Brown after the
- 34:43country with mostly black people.
- 34:47You see what? I'm trying to go here, they cut
- 34:50a name that anything else. It could have just been more
- 34:53Reedus or so people don't get it.
- 34:55Confused with the country when you look it up online Maury,
- 34:59this coffee shop, morita's Cafe. There's just so many other
- 35:02things they could have done just like with The logo did not have
- 35:06to be a black woman especially with an afro could have been of
- 35:09the sugarcane. It could have been thousand
- 35:12other things. I don't know.
- 35:15It's just yeah. So it's not just the logo.
- 35:19It's also the name and, you know, maybe they thought they
- 35:23were being clever or like there's no harm in it especially
- 35:27since they are in a country that is predominantly Korean.
- 35:32This is what I kind of need where like Especially with their
- 35:36entertainment, they're trying to be more Global and exposure and
- 35:40I feel like with that, you just need to be careful of what
- 35:45you're putting out to the other world because that's how they're
- 35:47going to see perceive your country.
- 35:49And honestly I blame a bear called a lot especially how they
- 35:53view black people. I know black Americans and
- 35:56Africans are different. Trust me, we got our own
- 35:59different cultures but still they're just going to lump Us in
- 36:02as all black people. So so yes, I do blame America
- 36:06for a lot of it, even now I'm not going to get into it.
- 36:10That's not what this episode is about.
- 36:11But I just wanted to come in real quick to point that out.
- 36:17Especially if people are listening to, this is like
- 36:19small. Why don't you talk about this
- 36:20more since you're a fan of Kpop? I'm like, I do.
- 36:24I don't talk about on the show, but I do talk about at least
- 36:26with like, nafiz and Brianna off of this.
- 36:30And even then like our first episode of how we got into Kpop.
- 36:33We did talk about this. No but it's like what I'm saying
- 36:37is like I wanted to open the conversation but at the same
- 36:39time I'm one person. So it's not like me saying this
- 36:42is going to make a huge change like it already took back in
- 36:462020. For like some of these companies
- 36:49here in America to change stuff like Aunt, Jemima, and like all
- 36:53these other character like brands of that same nature.
- 36:58Yeah, so we just have a long way to go, basically.
- 37:02Yeah. All I'm saying, and like
- 37:05companies, especially won't care unless you're losing money, huh?
- 37:09Yeah. So pretty much how it works in
- 37:11the corporate world. Corporate America, pretty much.
- 37:15So, I don't know. I feel like they could have just
- 37:18used and it's not even really a good depiction of a black
- 37:21person. Because if you look at the like
- 37:23the face, the way they draw her face, still kind of has like
- 37:27European features features. I don't even know if I would
- 37:30have been more mad. If like they really took like if
- 37:34they really made her like a black woman, or if like it's the
- 37:37love of that it is, you know, because when I see it like when
- 37:40they were showing it on the cups or like when they showed the
- 37:43workers there, we're all like Korean and There.
- 37:45It's on like their hats at they're wearing or like their
- 37:47apron to keep rolling my eyes but it's just like, you know?
- 37:51Yeah. Just because someone doesn't
- 37:54find a certain thing like they see a problem with it or make
- 37:57them uncomfortable. Doesn't mean that, you know,
- 38:00it's not a problem. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 38:03I just wish more people cared, you know that's all I'm going to
- 38:07say. I'm not going to get too much
- 38:08into it because that's not what this show or this episode is
- 38:11about. That's a topic for another day
- 38:14but I just thought I should You can bring it up.
- 38:16I'm going to link an article once we're done.
- 38:19That talks about it more. And in better, you know, light
- 38:24than I am doing right now because like I said, guys, I'm
- 38:26not used to it, but I said I was going to try to do a better job
- 38:29at least bringing this stuff up, so if you care, please take a
- 38:33read. Yeah, we're there any other
- 38:36controversial as with the show or just thought?
- 38:38I mean, me personally it's just that I don't know if there's
- 38:42anything else won't like cultures I'm unaware of okay.
- 38:45That they do, I don't think so. But then again, if I'm not in
- 38:48that culture, I wouldn't know. So gotcha, let us know guys.
- 38:54Yeah, because it's important to talk about is the difference
- 38:57between appropriation appreciation.
- 38:59And I think people are starting to get that confused.
- 39:02Yeah, so again, I could go on about this because I have plenty
- 39:06more to say but let's dive into like the actual show because
- 39:10that's what we're here for. So but of course, if we keep
- 39:14doing like other shows, I'll break it up, especially for
- 39:17people are like, well, if you don't like it, small stop
- 39:19watching this content. It's not like, I can get away
- 39:21from this. This is a global issue.
- 39:24Okay, any type of media that I consume?
- 39:28It's gonna be like this. Let me move on because, yes,
- 39:34it's just a global thing. Guys, anti-blackness is a global
- 39:37issue. That is going to take a very
- 39:40long time. To solve mmm-hmm.
- 39:45So let's get into the show, shall we?
- 39:52Is it in this episode? Or is in the next episode?
- 39:54It's in this episode. You don't like how the cells
- 39:56were, like, playing a little, like, dramatic of like a
- 40:00scenario that was going on. So like sensitivity was
- 40:03pretending to be the father, their ability to create stories.
- 40:06Is so funny. It's so funny because I
- 40:09definitely would have been like Cheapskate.
- 40:10We're like sensitivity hands over like the envelope like
- 40:14that's how much I will pay you to stay away from my son and she
- 40:17looks at the envelope and the directors, like that's not how
- 40:19it's supposed to work. You were supposed to rip it.
- 40:22It up. And then, when they restart the
- 40:25scene, she's like, my love for Bobby Strong's, like, but you
- 40:28didn't check the envelope and she tries to open it again.
- 40:30Like, how much money is in there?
- 40:34A whole scene got me dying? Because I honestly, I might have
- 40:37done the same thing and I'm like, no, it's not worth it.
- 40:42Maybe, you know, you know what? I'm gonna just keep this on the
- 40:44side. Hey, you can't leave this later.
- 40:49Listen, we ain't got time to go over it, okay?
- 40:52but anyway, Yeah, because it's a pretty big thing.
- 40:59But at the same time, though like I was like I was saying
- 41:03it's completely normal for that to happen.
- 41:06I mean, that didn't affect his relationship with her.
- 41:08He treated her, just the same. He had no intentions of breaking
- 41:12up with her. He had no intentions of pursuing
- 41:14the intern, so it's like, I think she'd kind of overreacted
- 41:20from my opinion. I don't really know how I feel
- 41:23about it because I don't know, because it's bigger thing is
- 41:27though. The bigger thing is though, like
- 41:29he, he did something about it, like he actually was going to
- 41:32move that. I don't know was the best move.
- 41:35I don't know if that was the best move.
- 41:38No pun intended. But I think, oh my God.
- 41:42I think that also started because like we said they were
- 41:46neighbors. So like and she was obviously
- 41:48still living with her parents. So her parents I think down they
- 41:52sent him some like oranges thanking him for like being I
- 41:55see you are and that's kind of initiated the move.
- 41:58Yeah, really, if we're being honest.
- 42:01So because it would have been awkward, it still like living
- 42:03next door to her parents and there's a chance to like if she
- 42:05comes to visit him and all visits them he runs into her.
- 42:10So but he was doing something about it.
- 42:13I don't know I'm kind of stumped on that I think because it could
- 42:17have affected them later on. Okay when I mean that she
- 42:21overreacted I mean like she was like gone that same night she
- 42:24should have she should Have waited the night.
- 42:26She should have waited the night because like he brings us up
- 42:30later when he was having like his thoughts.
- 42:32Like if he had reacted, no, he says, like I wish you me has
- 42:36trusted me the way I trusted her when she went to give back that
- 42:40picture to whom. Yeah.
- 42:42But like because I also wrote that on my notes I guess we'll
- 42:44talk about it now. I feel like that was different
- 42:47because he already knew you me didn't have lingering feelings
- 42:5215 like she wasn't sueded. Anyway.
- 42:55I feel like he did, I thought he was nervous about that, but he
- 42:59was like, a, let me trust her and see, what goat, what happens
- 43:02from there? That's the vibe I got, I don't
- 43:06know. I have no way to like, debate
- 43:08this either because I truly don't know how I feel about it
- 43:11and either situation. So, It is like a trust thing,
- 43:16but at the same time, I feel like no one.
- 43:19I just don't know. Yeah.
- 43:20So actually, this was a point of controversy to monks, like the
- 43:25people don't like Reddit and stuff, like, does his behavior
- 43:30count as cheating him like being swayed by somebody else.
- 43:34I wouldn't think so, but there is such thing as emotional
- 43:38cheating. So like, in that sense, probably
- 43:41remember what we did our movie review, for what if We talked
- 43:45about that. Yeah.
- 43:46I motional cheating because like what leads to the physical
- 43:50cheating. A lot is the emotional cheating.
- 43:52Whether it's the emotion of the Dead emotions, you have of your
- 43:55current partner or the new emotions you develop for the
- 43:59person, you're eventually going to, you know, cheat with.
- 44:02So I feel like cheating does not happen.
- 44:07Unless there is some type of motion there.
- 44:10The emotion to meet each emotions always comes first when
- 44:13it comes to cheating, that's why I was Like, we don't know if
- 44:16like later on, he's not that type of person, but if it did
- 44:18affect like the relationship, like I don't think he would
- 44:20never cheated on you me, but he might have like started treating
- 44:23her different as far as like, not being as attentive as far as
- 44:27like their Bromance. I don't know, I don't know
- 44:32either because now that we talked about this, okay, from
- 44:34how, from how I understood. Yeah.
- 44:37Like like from what I understood and how they portrayed it.
- 44:40It never seemed like Yumi was never in low number one spot
- 44:44like she was always Always there regardless of the intern or not,
- 44:47like the intern was just an addition, but like, I don't
- 44:50think he's wrong to be swayed, but the way he dealt with it and
- 44:54the way, the way he dealt with it was wrong, like, moving away,
- 44:57was not going to change that just because you were moving
- 44:59away from her doesn't mean it's not going to happen again, you
- 45:01know, but exactly, but like, I, I wish she had waited like, at
- 45:07least tonight and like, calm down and actually thought about
- 45:09it because they could have recovered from it, especially if
- 45:13it was a pattern. And she noticed it, You and
- 45:15brought it up to ya. I feel like the way she is.
- 45:18She did need to get away. I don't know if it would have
- 45:21been smart, like, not go back to Seoul, but maybe get a hotel.
- 45:24I don't think she could have stand in that moment.
- 45:26Being with Bobby even if she had come down.
- 45:29So I don't blame her for leaving, but I don't know if
- 45:33like you're saying maybe if she like, went to a hotel, then came
- 45:35back. I just know she wanted to get
- 45:38away and some people are like that, like I just need to be
- 45:40because like, how we express, she's into, she's introverted.
- 45:43So, I feel like a lot of introverts, like, when things
- 45:44Like that happen. I can't talk from experience.
- 45:46Sometimes like, I need to be by myself to collect and think
- 45:51before I try to talk to that person and be less emotional.
- 45:55So that way, when we start talking, we can be more rational
- 45:58about it than emotional about it.
- 46:01You know, that's what I meant by her sensitivity needs to be
- 46:03along the way with her hair feel.
- 46:05It's not like she just needed space from him but not.
- 46:07So not necessarily like go back home.
- 46:09And like we also don't know if she was like we were saying
- 46:12patterns if she just thought this was going to be Another
- 46:15wound singing thing where she just needs to go ahead and leave
- 46:18this time instead of trying to stay with it.
- 46:21No, I think she noticed the pattern because she wouldn't
- 46:23have asked him. When did you start liking me?
- 46:26If she didn't notice it, you know.
- 46:28Yeah. But I don't know.
- 46:36Back to me. No, he was a backup dancer for
- 46:41BTS. A lot of people knew him for
- 46:43that before. He was in stray kids.
- 46:47He was born in Gimpo South Korea.
- 46:52I apologize in advance for all the places I butcher, because I
- 46:55did, right? Where all of them were born.
- 46:59So he says, if he wasn't intrigued kids, he would be a
- 47:02dancer. I have, he is, he's kind of
- 47:08known for having RBF, but he's really sweet and takes care of
- 47:13his other members. That's how usually people with
- 47:15RBF is. So yeah, I know from experience
- 47:18and then, of course, he helps with the choreography and his
- 47:21genre of dance is hip-hop. Our next member his Chong Ben
- 47:27and his Korean name is so Chung been, he is a rapper of vocalist
- 47:33and producer. He was born August 11 1999, and
- 47:38his representative animal is app Abbott.
- 47:40So pig plus rabbit, what a pig plus rabbit.
- 47:46I don't know why I think, no, I don't know why he couldn't just
- 47:50be a pig because Lee knows the rabbit.
- 47:52Can he be a wombat listen, I have another beef with another
- 47:56members animal, and I'll get the bags like it, you said, wrap it
- 48:00up like a wombat exist. Yeah.
- 48:03The Australia member should I help them with that and we'll
- 48:08get there. And our next member is
- 48:15hyeongdon, is Korean, name is kwang-jin, he is a Dancer rapper
- 48:23vocalist in the visual. His unit is dance, Racha and his
- 48:28representative animal is a ferret, which he breaks the
- 48:36internet with how good-looking he is.
- 48:38So, but we gave him a ferret. Are you calling Fair?
- 48:41It's ugly. No.
- 48:44But Harry like hamster. Noodle, you're cute but it's
- 48:54just if you stretched out a hamster.
- 48:59Oh my God, I heard ferrets are also really hard to like, keep
- 49:03clean as well, aren't they? And he's like, like, OCD about
- 49:07cleaning. That's like one of his bags.
- 49:08I'm gonna kiss and I was so excited, like opposite.
- 49:12Yeah. Why a ferret ferret?
- 49:23And then we're going to move on to Han is Korean.
- 49:27Name is Hong, Ji sung, he is rapper vocalist producer, his
- 49:31birthday is September, 14 2008, happy late birthday, right?
- 49:38And he's representative animal is a quokka, which is a
- 49:44Australian marsupial, and he is not one of the Australian
- 49:48peppers. I don't know what that is.
- 49:51I don't receive that are like, A koala.
- 49:53Be, they're really cute and I can't dip em.
- 49:57Try to look at. I saw that a zoo when I went
- 50:00when I was in Australia, like a long time ago, when I first read
- 50:03that, I'm like I said a bird and I had to look it up one to know
- 50:05how to say it and to to figure out what it was.
- 50:08And it's a tiny spare, like qu0 kka all this animal.
- 50:16Okay? Yes.
- 50:18And I agree you with the fact that if you look up a picture of
- 50:20him eating, he stuffs his cheeks.
- 50:23Any looks like one of these animals.
- 50:25However, I'm a little salty that they have to Australian members
- 50:28in this one group, and they didn't give an Australian animal
- 50:31to either either. Wow.
- 50:35And bond. John was very athletic.
- 50:37A members call him by a nickname, of kangaroo.
- 50:40So like, why the hell is going to break up a cake?
- 50:42A real, his animal. It came true.
- 50:47And I don't need to be mad, but it's also every time you bring
- 50:51up these animals, the last two you've been a little salty about
- 50:55and then he was given the nickname squirrel by his other
- 50:59members. So, why the heck is me a
- 51:01squirrel because he's constantly shoving food in his cheeks and
- 51:03he like, Puffs out like a little squirrel hiding nuts for winter.
- 51:09So like, what kind of family is Oquawka a part of its a
- 51:13marsupial? I also was part of like the wall
- 51:16because It is a form of wallaby. And the size of a domestic cat.
- 51:21Yeah I watched a very cute video of a baby quokka in its mother's
- 51:26little pouch. It was super cute.
- 51:28I just don't understand. I do on some level because it
- 51:33does look like one but Just missed opportunities.
- 51:43Okay, so we're going to move on to Felix his ex, with a deep.
- 51:47As always, not match his body. People like that.
- 51:52Always not freaked me out but like, you know, how your eyes
- 51:56get big. That's how I feel sometimes.
- 51:57Like when I hear certain people talking like, I was not
- 51:59expecting that voice to come out as you jump and he's also got
- 52:03like three different modes of talking.
- 52:05He's got his like super deep wrap boys, he's got like a
- 52:09middle ground, that's pretty deep still.
- 52:11Just like normal talking and then he's got this like super
- 52:15super high pitched like go into like that, you know, and they do
- 52:19the egg yolk. I can go like wait, I and just
- 52:24like the bulk arrange. Their it's just kind of crazy.
- 52:27We love a person with the range because Normal talking voice is
- 52:30rather deep but he can go even deeper for those like rap.
- 52:34Oh yeah, we know, if you've ever heard a strike hits all, you
- 52:37know, which one is feel it? So so, his, um, his name is
- 52:43Felix Lee, however, his Korean name is Lee, Jung bulk, which
- 52:47you will hear the other members call him that And his positions
- 52:55are dancer rapper vocalist. And he is in the unit dance,
- 52:59Racha. He is considered one of their
- 53:01main dancers and will help with choreography.
- 53:04He was born September 15 15th, 2008, happy late birthday.
- 53:13I'm just saying all this is, we have some time in September.
- 53:17I was going to say a lot of September babies, a lot of
- 53:19Virgos. Hmm.
- 53:21It's a lot of a lot of energy. Both are that Archie.
- 53:26I don't, I don't know. They're chilled, they're very,
- 53:34they're chill. I feel like out of all the Earth
- 53:37signs through the ones that kind of like, they'll tell you how it
- 53:40is sometimes on pahlaj, ethically, you know, the very
- 53:44straightforward is what I'm trying to say, right?
- 53:47Sometimes he come off as Pete, like, for some people, but like,
- 53:50I appreciate it. And I should know this because I
- 53:53live with the fur go man. So right my father happy late
- 53:59birthday dad because your birthday was also on September
- 54:0117th. Again, lot of September babies.
- 54:08Alright, so we're going to go ahead and get into the game
- 54:10because we have quite a few before we start this.
- 54:14I need to, I need our point system because I'm a loser and I
- 54:17don't have it written down. Okay.
- 54:19So we are going to do how many albums 66 albums of stray kids.
- 54:27We're like, always if we do album by ABO, we, I feel like I
- 54:31like to try to do like chronologically like from
- 54:34beginning to like where they are now.
- 54:36I Like it makes it easier, you can see like the changes of the
- 54:38groups like music and all that. So so that means we're going to
- 54:42do top five. We've always done that pretty
- 54:45much. Yeah.
- 54:47And that's just my thing of, like, I don't know why I'm like
- 54:49that. So anyway, we're doing top five.
- 54:52So with that, if the song is on the list, it's 10 points in the
- 54:59right order is 20 points. And then the only thing that's
- 55:02different is number one is to the 50 points like the top 10.
- 55:0630 points since we do more albums and then you get
- 55:10automatically 100 points. If you get them in the right
- 55:13order from 5 to 1, which again guys ain't gonna happen.
- 55:17We were close with think, only BTS.
- 55:21Yeah, that was the I almost got it with your RM 60s with mono
- 55:28and I almost got yours with some of the most beautiful moment in
- 55:32life. You got ya, I got 71 as well,
- 55:34but I think that was the one that was rude.
- 55:36Verse. So like that did it if I have
- 55:39them count you know I'm so mad at myself for that.
- 55:44Literally I could have took it and turn it 180 degrees with
- 55:48Ben. All right.
- 55:52Tragic. I really, I really did not think
- 55:59I would know your story kids taste.
- 56:01Hmm. I was very nervous.
- 56:05She'd be proud of yourself. You know, my BTS taste, you did
- 56:08pretty good on the Got7. I think like, I think I still
- 56:11won some of my number one sided pretty horrible.
- 56:15No, I did it. I did it.
- 56:17Got7 is the only one. I didn't get any of your number
- 56:19ones. I keep telling you this, I think
- 56:21you need to go play. Listen, never mind.
- 56:22I'm trying to be positive their mind.
- 56:24Okay, you, you are. Thank you.
- 56:26I appreciate that. But you got my BTS taste and my
- 56:29Straight this taste. Which yes.
- 56:31I like the two groups that I've focusing on right now.
- 56:34So that's good. Hi, and welcome back.
- 56:39What? Hi, and welcome back to you.
- 56:49I was thinking I am the feasts. I'm crying.
- 57:08Start over if you want. It's kind of funny, though.
- 57:12That's up to you. I got all to keep that in there.
- 57:15We can keep it in. Okay, did you say her name?
- 57:19I did. Okay.
- 57:23I'm Simone and I'm currently dying.
- 57:25Like, I'm lazy. Are you sure you want to know
- 57:37what's even better? This is Our two-year anniversary
- 57:40of big hot, messes, get better at it a little bit eventually,
- 57:46only one that sounds excited. I'm more and I guess you could
- 57:51say, hmm of what that we're still doing this.
- 57:54Yeah, I know it really is shocking that we are still doing
- 57:58this. Hmm.
- 58:00Especially considering like how busy we've all been to.
- 58:03So exactly. And we don't get paid for this.
- 58:07Exactly. Yes.
- 58:08What I'm enjoying it still. I know like Nephi said, we don't
- 58:13do this consistently so but we still have listeners.
- 58:16So thank you guys for sticking with us.
- 58:19Whether you've been here from the beginning, are you jumping
- 58:22or you only listen to certain episodes?
- 58:24Thank you for giving us a chance.
- 58:26Yes, really appreciate it. And that's why we still do it.
- 58:29I'll see your stats in a minute. But how is everyone else?
- 58:32Feeling, how are you feeling Macy?
- 58:37So I mean since Brianna is not here, I guess I can skip over
- 58:41the whole segment. I had a mess in Kpop, I guess.
- 58:45We'll just have to do a whole other thing and that, you know,
- 58:48we don't really talk about it. Dedicate a whole episode to
- 58:51that. Yeah.
- 58:52But and I usually try to stay away but it's it's been
- 58:55interesting. I was telling may see before I
- 58:58recorded, I kind of wish we did our 1st episode earlier.
- 59:02We saw conduit and I'll talk about the mess of happened.
- 59:05So we need for that, it's just there.
- 59:07Under guys, we don't know the celebrities, just keep them.
- 59:12I already talked about the crush situation in the Stray Kids
- 59:15episode, so I don't feel like we hashing that.
- 59:18Yeah, yeah. And also I know that's been
- 59:22talked to death but I'll just say real quick, I am just as
- 59:26always, even though I'm not really religious praying for BTS
- 59:29is physical and mental health, that's it, not getting to
- 59:34anything else. I've said this multiple times on
- 59:36different Mario's. There's a non-korean someone who
- 59:39doesn't live in South Korea and does not pay any type of Korean
- 59:43taxes. I do not feel comfortable
- 59:45talking about any type of politics, which I have been
- 59:48seeing online lately. I know this episode's going to
- 59:50come out later is kind of bad because there was a huge protest
- 59:54about their current president. I saw in Seoul the other day,
- 59:57like a million. People literally a million
- 59:59people. Surely so yes.
- 1:00:02Wow, but yeah, because it's not like it's all sunshine and
- 1:00:06rainbows over here in the u.s. that we live in a complete
- 1:00:08Utopia. So who am I to talk about it?
- 1:00:11I've just been some seeing some interesting things on both sides
- 1:00:15about it. I don't feel comfortable about
- 1:00:17getting any type of opinion. I just pray for their mental and
- 1:00:21physical health, and that's it. And I will see them in 20, 25,
- 1:00:25maybe 2026 y'all. I'll yeah, 2829 around that
- 1:00:29time. Yeah, we all called really quiet
- 1:00:35getting older, you know, like, oh, I'm so that's what I've seen
- 1:00:39people be like. Oh, I'll be 21.
- 1:00:41I'll be 18. I'm just like, shut up.
- 1:00:45Shut up. I'll be in my 30s here.
- 1:00:53Also, turning 30 soon. Yeah, I don't know, man.
- 1:00:58No, no. I just Feel like for that next
- 1:01:02decade, I'm just going to focus on being more, like, happy and
- 1:01:06less stress because like, that's what I did for my twenties.
- 1:01:10Like I was just stressed about everything.
- 1:01:12I'm going to try to not do that as much.
- 1:01:14That's real, I get that. I'm really trying to do that
- 1:01:16now. So little bit hard.
- 1:01:19Yeah. And like sometimes you like you
- 1:01:21see the sea of the world, you're just like, hide, right?
- 1:01:26You can always do. But yeah, but definitely the
- 1:01:29sooner you start that the better You guys have anything you
- 1:01:33wanted to say about them going to the military.
- 1:01:35I'm glad they made the decision for themselves instead of
- 1:01:38waiting. And because at the end of the
- 1:01:39day, it is a requirement that the men in South Korea have to
- 1:01:42do so, at least, no one can tell them that they didn't serve
- 1:01:46their country and things like that.
- 1:01:48You know, I was trying to get special privileges, especially,
- 1:01:51yeah, exactly. So good on them for making that
- 1:01:54decision. Anything may see, cuz I know you
- 1:01:56never really said anything about it, since you brought it up.
- 1:01:59So I because I don't feel like I had the right to speak on it and
- 1:02:04I ate think that the culture over there is very different and
- 1:02:07it's an honorable thing to do. And if they want to do it then
- 1:02:10who am I to say? They have no choice.
- 1:02:14Basically. Yeah.
- 1:02:15But over there it's considered and like an honor like oh yeah
- 1:02:19I'm you know, go you go to the military become man or whatever.
- 1:02:23You know. Like it's just a different
- 1:02:24thing. I feel like they view it
- 1:02:25differently. I'm sure there are a lot of
- 1:02:26people that are like all this fucking sucks.
- 1:02:28You know. I don't want to do this, but if
- 1:02:30you like you said about this, She'll treatment thing.
- 1:02:32I feel like I feel like the backlash of their own country
- 1:02:36would be worse and didn't go if they didn't go and like, they're
- 1:02:41stupid fans that are across the water like tweeting about it and
- 1:02:45I'm like, yeah I don't think they should care about our
- 1:02:48opinions, they should just care about what they want to do.
- 1:02:50And if that's something that they want to make the choice
- 1:02:53instead of waiting, that's her. I don't have an issue with that
- 1:02:56and I find it weird that people do have an issue with it.
- 1:02:59Hmm. So yeah.
- 1:03:00And honestly Lee, the people that do have an issue with it, I
- 1:03:03feel like should be Koreans because again, that's something
- 1:03:08that you deal with. So like all the opinions I'm
- 1:03:10looking at, I will listen to Koreans whether they agree or
- 1:03:13not. So like I would have an issue
- 1:03:16with forced draft here but that's in my own country and
- 1:03:21like wouldn't necessarily affect me but it might affect the
- 1:03:24people that I love and care about, but like I don't feel
- 1:03:28like it's my place because you know, they have their own
- 1:03:31culture. Political stance in their own
- 1:03:33country, and if they really have an issue with it, their
- 1:03:36politicians need to speak on behalf of them and change
- 1:03:39things. So, just to add to that, we were
- 1:03:41kind of talking about this earlier.
- 1:03:44We're kind of the reason why they have to do that mandatory
- 1:03:47two years. So, I have your especially in
- 1:03:50America like, because like art, I mean, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 1:03:54So I really don't know. Aren't they still technically in
- 1:03:56a cold war with North Korea? Yeah, I think so.
- 1:04:01So there's so much that goes into why this is still happening
- 1:04:06that I think people especially if you don't look at tree
- 1:04:10outside of the Kpop. They're considering so that's
- 1:04:13why. I mean, like for the Judgment
- 1:04:15side, I don't it's just a slippery slope.
- 1:04:19I just want them to be okay, that's all I care about.
- 1:04:21I just care about their well-being.
- 1:04:22Yeah, as a fan and that's all I have really should care about.
- 1:04:26I think I might regret saying this, but I think that a lot of
- 1:04:30international And specially put BTR PDS on such a high pedestal,
- 1:04:36like and kind of forget that they are just people and
- 1:04:40citizens of their country and they can't you can't just
- 1:04:44because like you were super popular doesn't mean you can
- 1:04:47break the law, you know right? Yeah.
- 1:04:50I've seen instances of like celebrities over there in the
- 1:04:52past that thought that and it didn't get along that just like
- 1:04:57yeah I don't know. I mean like at the end of the
- 1:04:59day they're just people and yes they have international.
- 1:05:01National Fame more than any K-Pop group has ever had, but
- 1:05:04they're still just a singer and a celebrity.
- 1:05:07And like, that doesn't mean that they, you know, are exempt from
- 1:05:11other like just because a random guy, the street didn't Ascend to
- 1:05:14their Fame, Hood means he's any less than them.
- 1:05:17So it's just, I don't know. I feel like they put B doesn't
- 1:05:20on this weird pedestal that they don't do anything wrong and that
- 1:05:25they're not human. You know how I feel about.
- 1:05:27I'd buy their country's laws and rules just like everybody else
- 1:05:30does. So that's actually well.
- 1:05:33Said I slightly said that and mr.
- 1:05:36A kids episode, I mean I was I was mostly talk about something
- 1:05:38else but it Like It's the weird thing for me, not only higher
- 1:05:41pedestal but like maybe being them which is weird.
- 1:05:45Like they're not grown people, it is not even just them.
- 1:05:48I noticed that with a lot of, I don't even know if it's even
- 1:05:51just Korean celebrities are just like non-american, celebrities
- 1:05:55mostly Asian like East Asian celebrities.
- 1:05:58I see that more? I don't know about like
- 1:06:01celebrities. Like and other places like
- 1:06:03Europe or like South Asia, stuff like that.
- 1:06:08But I see it a lot with East Asians and it never really made
- 1:06:11sense to me because we treat them like that as a people also,
- 1:06:15which I find very weird. I've also never really
- 1:06:18understand how fans can get sit, like they get so invested and
- 1:06:23these people that like it. Yeah, themselves like this.
- 1:06:31Decision that they have to go through his people.
- 1:06:33It feels like they're affecting them and it's like, get the
- 1:06:36fuck, are you? It does not affect your life in
- 1:06:41any way. I don't know.
- 1:06:45It's just, it's just crazy to me because I've never been like
- 1:06:47super invested in celebrities like this is Def by far the most
- 1:06:51invested I've been but it's not like invested in their lives per
- 1:06:55se. It's just invested in their art,
- 1:06:58their music and their production and there are and like I don't
- 1:07:01Care what they do behind closed doors.
- 1:07:03Like why would that have anything to do with me?
- 1:07:06So it's kind of nice anytime I see like, a some type of dating
- 1:07:09Scandal. It's like, okay, these.
- 1:07:11This is their lives. They are human, especially from
- 1:07:15a place. I know for a fact, when I looked
- 1:07:17outside of like Kpop and kdrama, y'all really value
- 1:07:20relationships. So it's kind of weird to be.
- 1:07:23There's also something else I want to say.
- 1:07:24And I don't know if it's appropriate to say or not, could
- 1:07:27not let her say what I'm gonna say it and then y'all can tell
- 1:07:30me if I should cut it out. Sometimes?
- 1:07:32What? I say baby Skittles.
- 1:07:33I'm like, you know what? If they die even dating, what if
- 1:07:35they're just sleeping together? What if they just walking?
- 1:07:38That's none of our business. Yeah, we talked about how so
- 1:07:41much. These are like good-looking
- 1:07:43people. They have to live up to a
- 1:07:44certain standard as far as appearance and like attitudes,
- 1:07:48you know, if they find out I was released I thought of my
- 1:07:52business that is still a human tray.
- 1:07:54Especially the groan, I'm talking about the grown ones
- 1:07:56here, okay? Yeah, what's my road?
- 1:07:58Don't twist my words and think I'm talking about everyone
- 1:08:01because there's Again, a different time but I'm talking
- 1:08:05about the grown Idols. Hmm, I just think it's gone too
- 1:08:10far and it's gone too far for a very long time.
- 1:08:12And nothing I say is gonna change anything but likely,
- 1:08:14because how do you get to this point where it's so off.
- 1:08:16The rails that people are like crying and like being mean to
- 1:08:21others because their favorite person in the world is coming to
- 1:08:23the war me like, I need to step back.
- 1:08:26Yeah. What about the people in your
- 1:08:28actual life? So another, another topic for
- 1:08:33another day, well yes, there should be a happy episode.
- 1:08:36We're just branding. You survived two years.
- 1:08:40A world still sucks people. Yeah, and okay.
- 1:08:44Now, that's happened and entertainment, and real life.
- 1:08:48It's we're all going through it and now that I'm on tic-tac-toe
- 1:08:52from the other thing, I didn't think I've joined guys how a
- 1:08:54year changes. I finally cracked down broke
- 1:08:56down a giant Tick, Tock, broke you.
- 1:09:01So you know, sometimes I'm like, I see stuff like that and
- 1:09:05sometimes I see fun stuff world is going through.
- 1:09:10I've strictly go on, take talk to relax and have fun and I
- 1:09:15spend my much lace well yeah but I mean you can kind of direct
- 1:09:20yes but it depends on what your liking and what you're watching.
- 1:09:23But there's a reason that I've been spending a lot less time on
- 1:09:27the internet and more time just being outside of my dog because
- 1:09:30the internet's a scary place. Yeah.
- 1:09:32Yeah. So only seems like it's getting
- 1:09:34worse, to be honest. Yeah.
- 1:09:36Like you know what I could I could spend another hour on take
- 1:09:39back or I could go play with my dog and my dog has nothing
- 1:09:43negative to say. Oh, yeah, I think I'm kind of
- 1:09:48like that too. I'm at the point where like I
- 1:09:49just need to be off the internet.
- 1:09:51A lot less like Twitter and Tick-Tock just makes me upset.
- 1:09:55It's like I spend a couple of minutes like looking at stuff
- 1:09:58and I'm like, this is not what I was on here for.
- 1:10:01I was just you know looking for updates or want you to see what
- 1:10:05my favorite artist is up to and all I hear all I'm seeing is
- 1:10:09like Sector post after post of people being negative and hating
- 1:10:13on each other and talking about why they're doing this.
- 1:10:15Why did you do that? I'm like well, I guess I'll just
- 1:10:17go back outside because I'm more aware of what's going on in the
- 1:10:22world. Like I am praying for all the
- 1:10:23women in Iran and what's going on with them.
- 1:10:26I just want to First say that real quick so it could be
- 1:10:29helpful. But sometimes even with that
- 1:10:31like I sit there and I feel sort of helpless that I can't do more
- 1:10:35to hell, you know? Yeah.
- 1:10:37It's like so what can I do? That would make the biggest
- 1:10:39impact Fact. Without like I don't want to
- 1:10:42just because if I just spend hours looking at this stuff
- 1:10:44online, I just get sad and like, but is there a way to like
- 1:10:49proactively help the situation instead of just looking at these
- 1:10:52post over and over and over again and like hating the world
- 1:10:55even more because that's not productive either?
- 1:10:57So, yeah, it's just wanted to learn about, especially with all
- 1:11:00the incidents that's been happening and it's like as much
- 1:11:02as I have to, especially being a black person in this world, be
- 1:11:05more cautious of like, basically everything.
- 1:11:09Like, I Can't let that dictate how my life is going.
- 1:11:14I use it to be a safe as possible, but I can't let that
- 1:11:18ruin the little happiness that I can get.
- 1:11:21So, I also am trying to learn how to navigate through that
- 1:11:24because like, I feel like I'm a broken record right now.
- 1:11:28And I told us in the fees, the whole world at this point is
- 1:11:30anti-black. And when we talked about stuff
- 1:11:32like with you, me sells, it doesn't matter where I point to
- 1:11:36you, I cannot get away from it, so it's like, I have to know my
- 1:11:39limit. And that's with anything I
- 1:11:41consume at this point. Takes a lot more for change.
- 1:11:45A lot more people to willingly, speak up and be like, hey, we
- 1:11:49have a problem. Let's actually try to fix it.
- 1:11:52So, yeah, just a lot going on to this a lot going on.
- 1:11:58I was not trying to make the second year anniversary, like
- 1:12:01serious guys. I'm so sorry.
- 1:12:04How he seems to turn out that way.
- 1:12:05This pencil, like, where this is coming from.
- 1:12:13Next question, if you could time travel, when and where would you
- 1:12:19want to go? And then realize that, I'm like
- 1:12:22this discussion actually said where it's a little bit later
- 1:12:26and then the fees brought up an additional question.
- 1:12:29Would you rather go to the past and the future?
- 1:12:31My answer is still the same. I don't remember who the past
- 1:12:36being black. We are going to the future of
- 1:12:40even now. It's not like much has changed.
- 1:12:43Yeah, I really don't remember what I said for that one.
- 1:12:46I think I said something along the lines of like I want to go
- 1:12:50to the future but like past where I could potentially live
- 1:12:55like quite a while. So because I want to see them
- 1:12:58like new. I think that's and I think
- 1:13:01that's pretty accurate still. So I don't know if I'm gonna
- 1:13:03need it. Wrote down what you answered the
- 1:13:05fees because I only wrote down what their you asked me and
- 1:13:08Brianna was there anything that we wanted to change.
- 1:13:10We went to the past and we both said no nothing changed back.
- 1:13:15That nothing's changed now. Nothing will change back.
- 1:13:18Then you think to black people, black to black women?
- 1:13:23Mmm. No, we're already going through
- 1:13:25enough as it is no future. Hopefully, it'll be a With
- 1:13:30better. Now we will see and Brianna did
- 1:13:35end up saying if she had no choice, but to go to the Past,
- 1:13:38you would go to the 90s. And then we talked about like
- 1:13:40the history of, like, back television.
- 1:13:42How we feel like diversity and media is dying, I still feel
- 1:13:46like that because people are going up in arms about a
- 1:13:48mermaid, being black. And now I saw a new thing where
- 1:13:51Teletubbies is coming back on Netflix, and there is a up in
- 1:13:55arms because the baby son was Asian and black.
- 1:13:57And I'm like, if y'all don't show your race, This ass now.
- 1:14:00Come on now. Y'all are upset because the
- 1:14:03sun's future again future. She said science piece.
- 1:14:09You may have sent this to me but I feel like you may have but
- 1:14:13that Tick Tock that there's this.
- 1:14:16There's this girl that is talking about how like why
- 1:14:19people are so upset about Ariel being black but like she's like
- 1:14:23the part that bothers you is that like in our culture we
- 1:14:29don't there's no Reason that she needs to be white.
- 1:14:31We're like Milan. She has a specific culture.
- 1:14:34She needs to be Asian or like honestly, really just Milan.
- 1:14:39But, well, there, she's Jasmine. Other one.
- 1:14:43Yeah. Jasmine.
- 1:14:44Like, in those movies, there's a specific culture being
- 1:14:48referenced, but like white culture doesn't really have
- 1:14:52anything specific. So like it bothers you because
- 1:14:54it's like she can totally be black because like it doesn't
- 1:14:58have anything to do with. Anything.
- 1:15:00Yeah, like a princess, they have like Tiana, like it said, in New
- 1:15:04Orleans, but like, yeah, well, as we're getting to now, and
- 1:15:08which is actually a point that I never thought about until like
- 1:15:12recently, she is a animal most of the time.
- 1:15:15Now, if you've noticed, especially back, then a lot of
- 1:15:17if the main character is black, most of the time, they are
- 1:15:20either an animal or inanimate object.
- 1:15:22Tiana is one of them, she's a frog and so is the prince.
- 1:15:24Most of the time I can think of the new Pixar movie Soul.
- 1:15:27He is a soul, like most of the time.
- 1:15:30He's not actually a person. So it's very rare for us to
- 1:15:34actually have a lead, especially kids movie if they're anything,
- 1:15:38but white to actually be like themselves.
- 1:15:41For like, Brave is set in like Ireland, like, there's a month,
- 1:15:46I'm minority there. So it's like, it makes sense.
- 1:15:49But like, with Ariel, they don't talk about where she's from, you
- 1:15:52know, she's decent. Yeah, she can be anything she
- 1:15:55wants to be so it's just like, it's silly.
- 1:15:58It's like, okay, you're Like we can't change like what she
- 1:16:02originally was, but like, why does it matter?
- 1:16:04Anyway, get dozen people brought up the point of like how the
- 1:16:06original area. Ariel is a lot darker than the
- 1:16:09Disney Ariel. So when's my.
- 1:16:11Yeah. So it's like, it has no cultural
- 1:16:14reference. Like it doesn't matter where I'm
- 1:16:17like, other movies that big could potentially matter,
- 1:16:19depending on where it's set, but Ariel, she's free game.
- 1:16:24So I would have more. People have been more upset, if
- 1:16:26they made her look more like a fish, then like half-human
- 1:16:28half-fish. He said he The fish on top
- 1:16:31instead. Exactly, y'all care.
- 1:16:35What race she is? No, that's not even American
- 1:16:39thing. I think I saw a lot of global
- 1:16:40stuff to about that and I was like, seriously, mmm.
- 1:16:43But I've also seen so many little kids that like, are
- 1:16:48black. That are so excited to see this.
- 1:16:51Like, I've been given tation. I've been seeing a lot of
- 1:16:54reactions of like parents showing their kids, the new, the
- 1:16:57trailer for it and there. Our eyes light up and they get
- 1:17:01so excited and it's like, why would you take that away?
- 1:17:04Like what's the big deal? You know why?
- 1:17:05I don't like to say it. It's just can't just let people
- 1:17:11live and be excited about a princess.
- 1:17:12It doesn't actually exist with like representation and just TV
- 1:17:22shows in general. Not even just fantasy.
- 1:17:24Like I'm noticing more especially now how like it
- 1:17:28really is like it. Really hard to find like good
- 1:17:31diversity. That doesn't see stereotypical
- 1:17:35or like, they just put a person of color in it because people
- 1:17:38like are complaining. Yes.
- 1:17:40And if they are a lot of them, whether they're black or just a
- 1:17:43different person of color. They cast a lot of really light
- 1:17:48skin, close to white people nowadays.
- 1:17:51So kind of like barring that, which is sad.
- 1:17:55Yeah, question. We need on a lighter note, I
- 1:17:58guess. Yes, this one was the one where
- 1:18:03we start getting really deep at the end.
- 1:18:05So, name a goal, you want to accomplish before the end of
- 1:18:08your life. I think, my answer still the
- 1:18:10same no matter what. So, I'm pretty sure, I'm pretty
- 1:18:15sure. I said, I wanted to fall in
- 1:18:16love. You did, right.
- 1:18:18Right now, I'm in a moment of soccer feelings.
- 1:18:20I don't want. Ya know, I'm in one of those
- 1:18:29moods currently where I do not want, Thing to do with a
- 1:18:32significant other. I've been through that page to.
- 1:18:37Yeah. So I have gone through this a
- 1:18:40couple of times where I like, download a dating app, go on a
- 1:18:44date, hate my life, delete the app and then move on because I
- 1:18:50know they say it out of love but like Precious and Tara when we
- 1:18:53went to brunch there like Simone, you need to get out
- 1:18:55there, you need a day like we just wanted to make sure you're
- 1:18:57not cooped up and you're happy and I'm like, yes.
- 1:19:01But I don't. Has anyone in my town?
- 1:19:03I'm terrified of online, dating. I'm already awkward and person.
- 1:19:06I'm feel like I'd be awkward. Trying to do that first initial
- 1:19:09like trying to get someone through text message and
- 1:19:11FaceTime. It's complicated.
- 1:19:13It's just complicated. And I'm not trying to wait for
- 1:19:16like Prince or princess Charming or whatever.
- 1:19:20It's just like and not even just like trying to figure myself out
- 1:19:23which I feel like is important to know myself.
- 1:19:25So I know what to accept and what not to accept from a
- 1:19:28partner but it's just it's just complicated right now.
- 1:19:32And I don't feel like I'm in a position to really love someone.
- 1:19:35I don't want to date someone just to get the experience of
- 1:19:37dating. I want to dance.
- 1:19:38I want because I do want that potential of like falling in
- 1:19:41love, which also can be scary because like the wind and was
- 1:19:44certain things. I'm like I'm afraid to falling
- 1:19:46out of love there's just so much.
- 1:19:48Yeah I'm sure I want to do it eventually but right now in this
- 1:19:53next year I've decided to just focus on myself more so like but
- 1:19:58that's just like in the year goal.
- 1:19:59So as far as like the something that I want to do before I die,
- 1:20:03I don't know, I don't know anymore.
- 1:20:05It's like, I think, I think focusing like finally getting to
- 1:20:09a point where I'm like, happy really happy with myself and
- 1:20:12love myself and possibly, like independently like wealthy.
- 1:20:18Like, as far as just stable, how he's own business, I would
- 1:20:22really like to have my own business by the time, I'm 30,
- 1:20:24let alone before I die. Yeah, so yeah, I'll try it.
- 1:20:29I think that I think that that That is what I'm going to focus
- 1:20:33on and hopefully I will achieve that but for right now fuck
- 1:20:37love. So This will be our last
- 1:20:44question that we can just go ahead and wrap up and I asked
- 1:20:46this, like, before we started to, like, do the closing.
- 1:20:50So I'm glad I listened to the end.
- 1:20:52I brought up, what would you do if you found out your favorite
- 1:20:55celebrity, listen to this podcast, crawl in a hole and be
- 1:21:02like, hey, that's cool. Check out some other cool
- 1:21:04podcast. I feel like that's the same
- 1:21:07exact thing. We should Brianna said she'd cry
- 1:21:12and he says She's asks, why is she bury a hole and hide?
- 1:21:17But then she later be like, well, did you like, I mean,
- 1:21:19thank you for my feedback please.
- 1:21:23And I say because we're funny people.
- 1:21:25Yeah. How did you get to this point
- 1:21:29like in your ain't? How far did you have to go in
- 1:21:31the internet? How does the algorithm work?
- 1:21:34How did the algorithm work? Right?
- 1:21:37And briana's Of like y'all are thank you for having confidence
- 1:21:45in US. Yeah.
- 1:21:49Even though this episodes already gonna like till between
- 1:21:54like heavy and like light-hearted first, they going
- 1:21:57to break up because we still try to remain somewhat professional
- 1:22:02on this podcast even though we really need to.
- 1:22:05I know we've gotten comfortable, not that comfortable.
- 1:22:08So I will bring up this concern in the form of a question.
- 1:22:13I just want to know. What do people gain from
- 1:22:16following celebrities are Around.
- 1:22:20Now I know it's different here in America because sometimes our
- 1:22:24celebrities be like calling Paparazzi on themselves to like
- 1:22:28they want that Spotlight, they want people to like follow them
- 1:22:31and like you know, recognize them and all of the other.
- 1:22:35Yes. But as different expressly for
- 1:22:36celebrities who physically say always being around, people make
- 1:22:43them uncomfortable. I mostly think about the recent
- 1:22:46events where, you know, of Horse BTS members.
- 1:22:51And yes, I'm also going to talk about BTS in this blind before.
- 1:22:54Wanna so again, I'll put the time stamps when you can skip
- 1:22:57ahead. I thinked a couple months ago
- 1:23:02went to Harris Eddie got basically like bombarded at the
- 1:23:08airport to Paris and going home from Paris and I meet like
- 1:23:13videos that I didn't want to see.
- 1:23:15I'm surprised they were able to walk to where they needed to
- 1:23:18walk. So it's one thing.
- 1:23:20I know a lot of people when Jungkook was in, I can't
- 1:23:24pronounce the city's name. Is it, Qatar where the World Cup
- 1:23:28is being held right now FIFA? I've no idea.
- 1:23:31Okay, well, when he was there for his performance, for the
- 1:23:34dreamers also being followed around, I'm pretty sure I saw
- 1:23:40people following them around at a mall.
- 1:23:42The rapper. I follow Korean rapper named
- 1:23:45ph1, had to tweet out the nicest way.
- 1:23:48He came. And I know you guys are excited
- 1:23:51to see be, but please do not like, come to my hotel.
- 1:23:55He had to switch hotel rooms because people found out, which
- 1:23:59actual room, he was staying in. Why, why, what are you guys get
- 1:24:05from this? I'm being serious.
- 1:24:07I don't, I don't understand. No, I don't want us together
- 1:24:10goal and by the I guess just to to see them in person one time.
- 1:24:15But like, if I think it would be mortifying to me, Me that even
- 1:24:20by accident, one of the people that I look up to saw me and
- 1:24:24thought that I was absolutely insane and crossing the line.
- 1:24:29Like exactly because they're gonna remember you for the wrong
- 1:24:32reason. They're not going to remember
- 1:24:33you in like a good way. This is going to be like a
- 1:24:35trauma traumatic traumatic way and like if you're if you let's
- 1:24:42say you realize what you're doing is traumatizing they're
- 1:24:46not going to want to come to your city or come too.
- 1:24:49Like, do more public things if they're like scared.
- 1:24:55So like you're having the opposite effect of what you
- 1:24:58would hope to have by like your favorite celebrity going out and
- 1:25:01doing more things to where you could go and see them because,
- 1:25:05if like, they're not one you to travel these places because they
- 1:25:09don't feel safe staying at hotels, like it's going to ruin
- 1:25:12it for them and it's going to ruin it for you because they're
- 1:25:14not going to come back. So like, what are you doing?
- 1:25:16I mean and they'll probably come back just because, you know,
- 1:25:19Money and Company should it just depends like if they decide to
- 1:25:23just go there, do their events and then go home or like
- 1:25:26actually try to explore or like host events where they can beat
- 1:25:29you guys. That's going to make a huge
- 1:25:30difference Alice. Again money, but still not going
- 1:25:34to be they're going to be comfortable.
- 1:25:35I just think we all need to put the fanfics in the your name
- 1:25:40stories down for a minute sometimes and let's go enjoy the
- 1:25:45nice blue sky while we still can before global warming.
- 1:25:49Kills us all. I just don't want to know what
- 1:25:53these people do. Because I work in at 5:00 and I
- 1:25:56can't get out there chasing like, like what I know in Korea.
- 1:26:02They say, it's like, usually, a lot of people like, especially
- 1:26:05younger bands. There are part of Rich families,
- 1:26:09so they're able to do this. Can't wait.
- 1:26:12Like my mom would kill me. Like, well, what are you doing
- 1:26:15at all hours of the day following this random person
- 1:26:17around, like, spending money in it.
- 1:26:21Don't you have school work? Don't you have activities on
- 1:26:23your friends like what's going on with them?
- 1:26:27So it's not even about it. Thanks friends.
- 1:26:29That's exactly City that, I endorse it shouldn't be because
- 1:26:34I trust me, I've seen plenty of like, things where it's like a
- 1:26:38group of people doing this and they're like movies.
- 1:26:42Go to the mall. What are you doing?
- 1:26:43Watchfully, have a sleepover like normal kids.
- 1:26:46Yeah. Now it's my God.
- 1:26:49Just such an invasion of privacy, like I would never, I
- 1:26:54wouldn't want anyone to come to you.
- 1:26:56Why would you do that with someone else?
- 1:26:57Please. Like it would never even crossed
- 1:26:59my mind to like go and try to find a celebrity.
- 1:27:02Even in public like by chance let alone stalking someone to
- 1:27:07the like, where they live and where they're staying and like
- 1:27:11What do you what do you want? A picture like a hug?
- 1:27:13You think it's what's going to? What do you think is going to
- 1:27:16happen by you being there? They will fall in love with
- 1:27:19them. That's not going to happen.
- 1:27:21That's ridiculous. I've letting you know, basically
- 1:27:25that's what a lot of them think or, I don't know, become BFFs
- 1:27:28with people, they don't know off the camera that can be like a
- 1:27:32completely personality. You might even not even like,
- 1:27:36and I have to say that about people, I like, I don't know
- 1:27:38these people. I feel like I've said that a
- 1:27:39million times. In fact, probably a lot of them
- 1:27:42are because celebrities are just like us and a lot of people are
- 1:27:47bad. Bad people.
- 1:27:48We make mistakes. Yeah.
- 1:27:50So yes, Mama save line. I didn't write it down but I
- 1:27:55remembered what are we also going to get better at?
- 1:27:58Like I don't know how to work this.
- 1:28:01I just know like certain places. I go as a black person in
- 1:28:06especially people don't see black people a lot.
- 1:28:08They will come up to me and Are either sing or doing like
- 1:28:12stereotypical things, they don't want black people through media
- 1:28:17and I would really like that to stop.
- 1:28:18I'm just saying this because I don't remember where this is,
- 1:28:21but there is just a group of people chanting the BTS,
- 1:28:27fanchant to a random Asian woman and I don't even know if she was
- 1:28:31Korean, but I that's that's what I mean.
- 1:28:34If y'all understand what I'm trying to say, like, when we're
- 1:28:38going to stop doing that, people so much, Of course, yes, I
- 1:28:41laugh. Sometimes it like, tick-tocks
- 1:28:43that be making these type of jokes, but sometimes it's kind
- 1:28:45of like, okay, I get it. It's funny.
- 1:28:48But same time, it's not funny. That situation wasn't funny, but
- 1:28:52it's like when, when what is wrong with us?
- 1:28:56What is wrong with you, man? That's why fundamentally, we're
- 1:29:02flawed, all. That is an understanding
- 1:29:04understatement. Anyway, continuing I just wrote
- 1:29:07I'm tired of seeing jyp that's it, I think.
- 1:29:10Oz promotions and what his artist right now are being held
- 1:29:15at gunpoint to do that stupid. Yes, apparently that's all guys
- 1:29:22for like, a promotional song for an airplane, like line to travel
- 1:29:27him. But the reason I said that is
- 1:29:29because I saw someone post like of his story of like, I guess he
- 1:29:34reposted Vans and put it on a quotation marks, is them doing
- 1:29:38the dance challenge and he's like, Oh, this is good but
- 1:29:42there's a dance practice for a reason.
- 1:29:45If I was a regular ass person I'd be like okay fuck you too.
- 1:29:49I did have to take time out of my day to do your stupid Dance
- 1:29:51Challenge. I have not one of your Idols.
- 1:29:53I am not a professional, you could have just kept scrolling
- 1:29:56sir. Oh, my god, really.
- 1:29:58And you care. If this is a promotional for
- 1:30:01anything, they paid him too much money because they paid him at
- 1:30:06all. I don't understand why he needs
- 1:30:09to be a singer when he's back. He's not good until regular
- 1:30:13people. There is a dance practice for a
- 1:30:15reason. Maybe you should go watch it.
- 1:30:18That person is giving you abused and plays by doing your Jan's
- 1:30:22challenge, no matter how badly they're doing it.
- 1:30:25He just makes me so uncomfortable.
- 1:30:28And then like I saw him doing like height boy on like, Inky
- 1:30:33guy or something like that. It's like, sir.
- 1:30:34Why are you still on the show's? I have tried.
- 1:30:37Not to judge like the Aegis when it comes.
- 1:30:40It's so like I don't work because I know how that's a
- 1:30:43thing like that. We've talked about before, when
- 1:30:45they're like, they say you're 30, you're dead, but him there's
- 1:30:48one thing between being an artist and an idol.
- 1:30:50He's way too old to be an idol and he keeps trying and I need
- 1:30:53to stop. I'm sorry, this man's father's
- 1:30:55me so much - I to compare it to similar age version, similar age
- 1:31:04range, fantastic artist Jo. He's never been good.
- 1:31:07I don't care if not he's too old because just never been good.
- 1:31:10So I said, age has nothing to do with it.
- 1:31:26We are getting spice. This is why we should have
- 1:31:27recorded. I, we're kidding Spike might win
- 1:31:30tonight. I'm more honest.
- 1:31:31When I'm tired. Oh God honestly I'm okay to come
- 1:31:36for jyp, no matter what time of day it is.
- 1:31:38So because I think he's not a very good person but listen, I
- 1:31:44he creeps me out. I don't like how he is with
- 1:31:46young female artist. I don't like being and fathers
- 1:31:49meet that scares me a lot. Get away from these girls.
- 1:31:52Because that happened in Show. Business and it's just like, I
- 1:31:56need you to step away and stop making them like dance with you.
- 1:32:01And I saw one like and Bala is like, I don't know much about
- 1:32:04Bob, I know, but was in her 30s and I saw one with she did on
- 1:32:07her Tick-Tock with jyp and he kept getting so closer.
- 1:32:10I'm like, bro, back the fuck up. He makes me entirely
- 1:32:15uncomfortable. I don't like anything about him.
- 1:32:17Listen, I've always had a great put that, man, and I've I still
- 1:32:20remember the video of him dancing in 1990 with all his
- 1:32:24Backup dancers in blackface. So again, got my gripes with
- 1:32:29him. Yeah.
- 1:32:35And then the main thing I want to talk about before we get
- 1:32:37into, the one has game day that we are recording is December
- 1:32:412nd. First, I mostly just wanted to
- 1:32:44talk about how a year from today.
- 1:32:47I was in LA was precious and zarya cbts why?
- 1:32:52I've got the memories, the memories.
- 1:32:56I was in the stadium about this time, just waiting for them.
- 1:32:59And then later on, we like made did cry like a thousand times
- 1:33:03for his birthday. Day and celebrated his birthday.
- 1:33:06Happy birthday Jen. By the way, because this is
- 1:33:08going to come out after your birthday but still, I'm so yeah,
- 1:33:12but also not 0 and then when we all failed at doing the like our
- 1:33:17be wave, if you guys want to listen about like my whole trip
- 1:33:22in La, I actually record an episode with Briana.
- 1:33:25Y'all can go listen to that. But anyway, today is also the
- 1:33:28day that mr. Kim.
- 1:33:31Namjoon RM of BTS released His solo album Indigo and I have
- 1:33:38many feelings. Many Felix, a man is my bias for
- 1:33:43a reason. I will say, I feel like I said
- 1:33:46it before. He's really the only reason I
- 1:33:48really truly got into beats. Yes.
- 1:33:51I listen to most not all of his work because I know there's some
- 1:33:54like pre-debut stuff I haven't heard before.
- 1:33:56But I've listened to a majority of his work before I finished
- 1:34:00listening to like BTS as a whole like work.
- 1:34:04So So yeah the say he's like one of my favorite artist is an
- 1:34:08understatement so yeah I woke up this morning it's our it's just
- 1:34:14what I like really likes old think it's hard for me to like
- 1:34:16explain how much I like I'm trying to make sure I form words
- 1:34:20and not just sounds so you guys are gonna have to forgive me.
- 1:34:22Already warned may seem like Macy.
- 1:34:23Just make sure I say proper words and I don't just start
- 1:34:26like, I don't know, fangirling, screaming crying throwing up all
- 1:34:30that good stuff. Please don't.
- 1:34:36But yeah, I I wasn't like sure what to expect from Indigo
- 1:34:41because I was like, I remember my initial and this was before I
- 1:34:45listen, like I said, all of these he s is like this ography
- 1:34:48the like transition from rme's first mixtape to mono and I was
- 1:34:54like listening to his first mixtape to prepare for mono.
- 1:34:57So in mono dropped and I listened to it, I was like, oh
- 1:35:00my God, this is like a whole 180.
- 1:35:03But I understood it because, like, he was going through
- 1:35:06stuff, bts's groups going through stuff.
- 1:35:08And he's a lot older maturing they were getting more popular.
- 1:35:12I understood it. And I had no idea what to expect
- 1:35:15from Indigo because I'm like, I have a feeling maybe it's going
- 1:35:18to lead more towards like mono. He says, this is like a project
- 1:35:22of like his late or his last 20s and he's been working on it
- 1:35:28since 2019 and then in the back of my head, I was kind of like,
- 1:35:31you know, I'm low-key kind of Of prey.
- 1:35:34It's kind of like RM his first mixtape well maybe just like
- 1:35:38more mature and like grown but still like that shit talking as
- 1:35:43well as mixed with model where I get that like deep reflection
- 1:35:47and like you know questioning my life but then also like
- 1:35:50celebrating my life and I did get that I got both of those
- 1:35:53mixed into one. So I'm very happy.
- 1:35:56I watched the music video first Wildflower and I thought it was
- 1:36:00great. The woman who sings on there.
- 1:36:02I didn't write down her name. I wish I did because she did
- 1:36:04like amazing. I wanted to scream every time
- 1:36:07she liked was Siggy because it was so good and I was fight I
- 1:36:12don't like this is beautiful. This is like his you know I
- 1:36:16don't know if you know this this is basically his last like
- 1:36:19project before it goes to the military I'm sure all of them
- 1:36:23will be in the military at least by the end of next year 2023.
- 1:36:28If they're planning to try to come back by 2025 and then I
- 1:36:33listen to like the album and then for some reason because
- 1:36:36that song, the music video that it's war is like the second to
- 1:36:39last log. And when I heard it a second
- 1:36:41time, like just listening to it in my ear pod, I started crying.
- 1:36:45I don't like smoke. Oh my gosh.
- 1:36:46What is wrong with you? Why are you cry?
- 1:36:49You didn't cry during the music video.
- 1:36:51You were fine after all the salt and all of a sudden would
- 1:36:55Wildflower hits. Now you're literally sitting in
- 1:36:57your bed, just tears, running down your face, reflecting your
- 1:37:00life. I don't know if I've said this
- 1:37:02but I've Pretty shitty year. But like, I also feel like this
- 1:37:06album helps people like me, who are like struggling, but like,
- 1:37:09silent struggling. So I don't really talk about my
- 1:37:11struggles a lot. If y'all haven't noticed, it's
- 1:37:14just been really hard, especially that age that I am at
- 1:37:1725. So living at home in my hometown
- 1:37:22questioning, everything I'm doing with the job.
- 1:37:25I hate, you know, this album just came at a really good time.
- 1:37:29It was some cheerful songs but still Active basically
- 1:37:34everything I just said at the beginning, so I really
- 1:37:36appreciate it. I love this album, I appreciate.
- 1:37:40Now, I'm June as an artist and yeah, I just can't express my
- 1:37:43appreciation for him as much makes great music.
- 1:37:47Love all the features. Thanks for everyone that helped
- 1:37:49to put this project together. After I listened to it, I
- 1:37:52immediately bought it for Weaver, so I cannot wait till I
- 1:37:55get my physical. And yeah, I'm so rambling but
- 1:37:58still, I just really like this. I really enjoyed this.
- 1:38:02Even if others didn't. Get that much.
- 1:38:04I really enjoyed this. I've listened to this probably
- 1:38:06about five times. I would listen to it more.
- 1:38:08If I didn't have to finish listening songs for another
- 1:38:10group about to do after this one.
- 1:38:13Yeah, Macy. Don't mind any time.
- 1:38:16Please stop me. I'm gonna keep going.
- 1:38:18It's just phone. I don't have quite as strong
- 1:38:22emotions to do it. But I mean, fight.
- 1:38:25I have some crazy. It looks like a slut this album
- 1:38:30singing. I don't think because you
- 1:38:33screwed Aimed at me this morning to listen to it at some point
- 1:38:35today. The album like may see, you need
- 1:38:38to listen to this before we started recording.
- 1:38:39Yeah. Go listen to this.
- 1:38:40Even if you know, once I listen to it once like on my lunch
- 1:38:46break and then once on my way home from work and I really
- 1:38:51liked it, I totally get what you're saying about it being
- 1:38:54kind of a cross between his first mixtape and mono.
- 1:38:58I definitely get that Vibe. And I feel like he's I'm a lot
- 1:39:03of changing and growing into the artist that he's become but he's
- 1:39:07always been so good at lyrical writing.
- 1:39:10Yeah and just my words time to go and look and look at what
- 1:39:16he's saying completely because you know, you get Snippets and
- 1:39:20bods from like the English that is in there.
- 1:39:23But I don't think I fully like wrapped my head around this
- 1:39:29whole album as a whole because I don't know all of the words.
- 1:39:32So So vocally and lyrically and like musically.
- 1:39:38It's everything's good, and sounds good to me, but I want to
- 1:39:41go deeper into like what he's saying because I feel like
- 1:39:44that's the only way to truly take this all in as a compass.
- 1:39:50And I promise you once you do because I already have, it will
- 1:39:53still break you and a good way. It didn't definitely a couple of
- 1:39:57them, brought out a little bit of emotion, but I think it's
- 1:40:01it's much harder. When I actually know what.
- 1:40:03Saying so and I get that. Yeah.
- 1:40:06First like I don't know if you want me to do this.
- 1:40:10But like first, like First Impressions, I have five that
- 1:40:13you can. Also, I know you asked me
- 1:40:17earlier to before you go like if I had any top five guys, don't
- 1:40:21ask me that right now. I'm still and I'm trying to get
- 1:40:23this just like, first impression like I, when I was just
- 1:40:26listening to my car and driving and like paying attention
- 1:40:29driving, like I would stop and be like, oh, I really like this,
- 1:40:31you know, so y'all gonna have to To give me three months until I
- 1:40:35could tell you, one of my favorite songs, I'll be like,
- 1:40:38hey, this song with an Anderson pack is really good, but this
- 1:40:41one with table was also amazing but then this one was really
- 1:40:44good as well. Oh, I really like lovely.
- 1:40:46No, you're gonna have to give me three months, guys.
- 1:40:47You're gonna have to give me 3 months.
- 1:40:49I quite like Tableau. I'm surprised at how many
- 1:40:52features songs he's had. Like, that was a lot of people
- 1:40:55helped him. So sure, almost every song
- 1:40:58except for maybe one or two. Yeah, I think there is two that
- 1:41:01didn't and someone pointed this out on Twitter.
- 1:41:03Are they really liked how instead of he said, instead of
- 1:41:06feature. He said with.
- 1:41:08So, like the songs were like all day with Tableau, like to make
- 1:41:11it more inclusive from, like this is so sad.
- 1:41:17I didn't even notice that. That's cool though.
- 1:41:20So in order from five to one, I put all day.
- 1:41:26You soon. I don't young.
- 1:41:30I don't know how you're supposed to say that.
- 1:41:33Why U n-- Yoon? I don't think so.
- 1:41:36And apparently you did because I watched his tiny dust
- 1:41:40performance with y'all need to go watch you.
- 1:41:43And is a Painter or Korean painter that he really likes and
- 1:41:46I guess his painting is in the picture, like his album picture.
- 1:41:50You know, you two sitting on the floor and there's a painting
- 1:41:52behind them. That is the painting.
- 1:41:54That is painted by you. And I don't know his full name,
- 1:41:56I'm sure he says it in the tiny desk performance but I think
- 1:42:01you're saying it right? Okay.
- 1:42:04Hectic. Oh my God I love that one still
- 1:42:07life. I like that.
- 1:42:08I like Anderson pack. He's so funny.
- 1:42:10Right? I like that little moment where
- 1:42:12they're like, they're back and Or yeah, when they're talking
- 1:42:15that was that was cute. And I put Wildflower as my
- 1:42:18number one. So I think we were on the same
- 1:42:20page with that one being really good.
- 1:42:22I'm not saying that's my number one right now, but I'm just
- 1:42:24saying, Kyle enjoyed the music video and it made me cry.
- 1:42:28So out of all of them with think the other wants But yeah, I also
- 1:42:34really like moly, I mentioned that earlier, but I like, my
- 1:42:37only choice. It was really good.
- 1:42:39I'm actually leaning to closer. But again, I'm just going to say
- 1:42:43all of these are good. I can't choose.
- 1:42:45I can't choose. I'm having a meltdown.
- 1:42:49It's just so good. I'm sorry.
- 1:42:54Yeah. When I was because everything I
- 1:42:55swear now every time I listen to K-pop album, I think about both
- 1:42:58of us. And while I was listening, I did
- 1:43:02in my Head, Say, closer and lonely for you, but you probably
- 1:43:05really like those and Wildflower and ha.
- 1:43:08Yes, yes. And change part two, which I
- 1:43:11feel like I've been screaming all day.
- 1:43:13Yeah, so I also just really quick before we officially move
- 1:43:18on, wanted to shout, I just want to shout out the tiny dust van
- 1:43:23because I think they did a really good job.
- 1:43:25You need to go watch when you have a chance Macy.
- 1:43:28Listen, I had to work today, and you bombarded me with this drop.
- 1:43:32And I Okay? And I made it happen for you.
- 1:43:34I listened to it twice. True.
- 1:43:36So Russia, so I had time to watch anything, you're fine.
- 1:43:40I mean, I haven't even really been keeping up with them in
- 1:43:43general. Like, there's this with too much
- 1:43:45content that I can been very good at that, but I try to
- 1:43:49listen to the main stuff. Yeah.
- 1:43:52Well, I meant outside content, also, besides the music, like, I
- 1:43:55just have, I have not been able to, I'm so behind on a lot of
- 1:43:58stuff. So, but well, our emcee Said, he
- 1:44:03said the person on the keyboards name was Doc's.
- 1:44:05Kim guitar. Was John own base was Park Jason
- 1:44:10and the drummer was JK Kim. So I thought they did a really
- 1:44:14good job. Also, I also thought there was a
- 1:44:16funny part. I don't know if anyone else who
- 1:44:18watched it caught this or not. But there's a part where like
- 1:44:21areum is like in between songs and he's talking and he says
- 1:44:24like, you know, next year because of their Creed age,
- 1:44:27which I thought the president was getting rid of but I don't
- 1:44:31know because I don't live. There.
- 1:44:33But anyway, he's technically going to be 30 and Korea next
- 1:44:37year. And the drummer kind of did like
- 1:44:38a, like a clap, like a woo in the back.
- 1:44:40And I don't know if he realized. He was the camera was on him
- 1:44:43because he kind of stopped and made that face.
- 1:44:45I just thought it was funny. You made it to 30.
- 1:44:49Congratulations. Exactly.
- 1:44:51He was big support of. He's like, yeah, 30s.
- 1:44:55I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
- 1:44:56Yet I still got five more years. Gosh, it was going to be here
- 1:45:00before, you know it, because next year we will be Six.
- 1:45:03This is keep going. I have like, just like a month,
- 1:45:07a month. Oh, yeah.
- 1:45:09And you until I'm 26. I'm scared because it's pop.
- 1:45:13Nothing's gonna happen. Jim drastically.
- 1:45:16I promise you. I do though have to get my own
- 1:45:19health insurance. That's awesome.
- 1:45:21Yeah, not. Now we're officially going to be
- 1:45:24got it. I just it just doesn't start
- 1:45:26till January, I know. But yes.
- 1:45:29And then also, I promise, this is the very last day.
- 1:45:32Like I said, I haven't been keeping up with their content
- 1:45:34but I saw clips of their latest run VTS episodes.
- 1:45:38I need to watch it. Apparently, I found out through
- 1:45:40you, Angie or sugar that you know, how I've been obsessed
- 1:45:44with red pandas lately. They're becoming like my new
- 1:45:47favorite animals. I guess they called them lesser
- 1:45:50pandas over there, and there's no way he was saying it was very
- 1:45:54adorable. If I can find a tick tock, I'll
- 1:45:57send it to you, but red pandas. It Korea are called lesser
- 1:46:01pandas. That's what I told because
- 1:46:05they're smaller lesser Mass but like, it sounds like that is
- 1:46:10good as a panda. Dear, you, you're not good
- 1:46:14enough to be a panda. Your lesser than a panda.
- 1:46:18Oh my God. Oh, God down.
- 1:46:20But yeah, I just thought that was I thought that was cute.
- 1:46:24Which is a funny thing, isn't it?
- 1:46:27It sounds funny. Like lesser Panda.
- 1:46:30It's interesting, but, yeah. Oh God.
- 1:46:34Okay, with her red. Why are we calling it lesser
- 1:46:36when you can just call it a red panda.
- 1:46:39Make up the words, make up the language.
- 1:46:42Okay, I'm just passing on information that I found is,
- 1:46:46that's funny. I like that.
- 1:46:48I'm gonna start calling him that now raccoons are trash.
- 1:46:52Pandas and right red pandas are Are lesser pandas and sloths are
- 1:46:59tree. Pedophiles, that's mine.
- 1:47:05Tree pedophiles. Yes, I didn't make that up but
- 1:47:11it's funny to me. Alright, creepy little pieces.
- 1:47:15They have a little you to browse.
- 1:47:17I've never heard a little bit of us off and tell me what baby
- 1:47:22sloths are. Cute baby sloths are cute.
- 1:47:24Those aren't you? You're you can't be a pedophile
- 1:47:27and singer adult Carol. So okay let's go ahead and move
- 1:47:32on. Sorry that was really random.
- 1:47:36We're called, you think delirious?
- 1:47:42But I like I said I their names are sketchy for me.
- 1:47:48I their leader. I know him quite like right off
- 1:47:52the bat, but I have to think about it.
- 1:47:54Sometimes whose leader who was the leader?
- 1:47:57I don't think it was the leader girl.
- 1:48:00Oh my God. Who did you think was the later?
- 1:48:06Tell me. They're nice.
- 1:48:09It's the one that can pronounce the start with an H.
- 1:48:12They don't have a leader, they don't have a leader.
- 1:48:15No, that's why. I'm like, who was the leader of
- 1:48:20a second? I need to look up their faces
- 1:48:23real quick. They do not have a leader.
- 1:48:24May see that every group has a leader.
- 1:48:27Okay, whatever. I'm just letting you know, my
- 1:48:30thinking of the regroup, I don't know.
- 1:48:32Oh, aren't you problem? What's wrong with me?
- 1:48:36He worked. That's your problem.
- 1:48:41Kwan/wong does he know the leader?
- 1:48:44No, he is log base. E.
- 1:48:46Is he like a center or something?
- 1:48:48Because I feel like to see Center because he's like the
- 1:48:51main dancer, okay? I just assumed that he was a
- 1:48:54leader based off of that, I don't know.
- 1:48:57It's like jokes. Yes, always in the middle and
- 1:49:02he's not the leader so long and I know I'm sorry.
- 1:49:05I didn't the fifties this one that's what was like okay he's
- 1:49:12always up front and I feel like he talks a lot when I see them
- 1:49:15on things and like he was like in the New Kingdom and the
- 1:49:21shortest not to be like on short people but I also might be why
- 1:49:26they put him in the middle. He also is a really good dancer.
- 1:49:30It could just be from balance like like maybe buddy else and I
- 1:49:33feel like he talks a lot when they're like doing group things.
- 1:49:37So I guess I just assumed because now I'm doing always
- 1:49:39talks where his group, but maybe he just speaks better English
- 1:49:41than other people do. I don't think I've ever seen him
- 1:49:44speak English before and I think Ledo's close to be the one that
- 1:49:48knows the most for my understanding.
- 1:49:51Well, I just feel like I see him a lot and sometimes he's talking
- 1:49:55and sometimes he's dancing, but I see him a lot.
- 1:49:57So I just assumed hey, my bad, it's it.
- 1:50:01I'm not upset. I was just confused but we got
- 1:50:04that covered with, it's all good, it's okay.
- 1:50:07Basically I'm not around you, the pat you on the shoulder but
- 1:50:10I'll first really Pat you on the shoulder.
- 1:50:17Calm. But the actual title track is to
- 1:50:19be or not to be when the whole EP released quite like this
- 1:50:22album. It's good.
- 1:50:24As I said earlier, this is the only one I'd I own and this is
- 1:50:27more of your style, the dark Rudy vampires.
- 1:50:31Bring the vampire girl. Were you Team Edward or Team?
- 1:50:34Jacob growing up. God, I don't know, I'm Twilight
- 1:50:41anything but Twilight, I didn't care for Twilight either.
- 1:50:45I was just messing with you. I never liked Vampire, Diaries
- 1:50:49either. Okay, I can't lie.
- 1:50:50I actually really enjoyed Vampire Diaries.
- 1:50:53Okay, so for you, I put your number five is airplane number
- 1:51:00four, dead or alive. Number three is easy.
- 1:51:05But number two is, come back home.
- 1:51:07And I put number one is to be or not to be and I'm slightly.
- 1:51:11He's regretting snot switching those on some level but I could
- 1:51:14be awesome. Why?
- 1:51:16Why you did really good? Oh, I did really.
- 1:51:18Okay. I almost switched that number
- 1:51:21one and two at the last minute, but I didn't.
- 1:51:23Okay, so for yours, I have airplane.
- 1:51:27As number 54 is dizzy re Dead or Alive to to be or not to be and
- 1:51:35one I put come back home for you.
- 1:51:39What are you doing? You got them all in the right
- 1:51:46order. It happened.
- 1:51:51We jinxed it. We said it was going to happen,
- 1:51:53and we do yes airplane. Dizzy.
- 1:52:58Sammy unit to be, or not to eat. Please come back.
- 1:53:53Oh my God. It's all speechless.
- 1:53:57What? Oh my God.
- 1:54:02Automatically win. How do you do?
- 1:54:05You don't know that? Wow, that's never happened.
- 1:54:13So may see when a what are we going to beat up for that
- 1:54:16celebration? You're talking about earlier?
- 1:54:18I don't know. Could we go to stray cats
- 1:54:20concert in March? Okay.
- 1:54:24Oh yeah, I know y'all are gonna have to give me a minute.
- 1:54:28I was not expecting that and that's the one where I just made
- 1:54:33the list. I just made it and I made it
- 1:54:36opposite of Me are there only five songs on that album or is
- 1:54:39it only five songs? No I think there's only five.
- 1:54:42Ladies and gentlemen, history has been made and I promise you
- 1:54:48this will never happen again. This will never happen again.
- 1:54:51I didn't think it was gonna happen in the first place but oh
- 1:54:56God. Welcome back to.
- 1:55:01I was thinking I may see and I'm Simone has everybody doing,
- 1:55:07we're tired as hell a kid, because we just spent so long
- 1:55:12with the 1st episode, this is back to beg my throat hurts and
- 1:55:18I'm still gonna be doing the majority of talking great.
- 1:55:21We complained in the last episode of, if you listen to it,
- 1:55:23the whole time that we were going to pull a double feature
- 1:55:27the tonight and we both it's She was up early in the morning and
- 1:55:31I work today. So we're both tired and it's
- 1:55:35just we're just going to get through it.
- 1:55:36And yeah hopefully it'll still be enjoyable.
- 1:55:39I think we're kind of funny when we retired but it's getting to
- 1:55:41the point where we're two tires, so we'll see.
- 1:55:47Gob such an old lady because it's only 9:00 right now, but
- 1:55:52also it's the time. I hate the time change America.
- 1:55:56As far as I know, it's the only country that does this and what
- 1:55:59are we? Going to stop.
- 1:56:01Why is it getting dark at 5:30? Why do you think all these
- 1:56:04people have seasonal depression? I live in a state where there
- 1:56:07are no Seasons, right? I'm I feel it.
- 1:56:10I'm about, I'm on the other side of the state from you, so it
- 1:56:13gets dark here at 4:30. Oh, really?
- 1:56:16The sun literally starts to set at like 422 4:30, and then it's
- 1:56:21dark by 4:45. Wow, I did not know that.
- 1:56:26Yeah, actually heard I think a girl from Tick-Tock say like,
- 1:56:31she's somewhere in the Midwest and it gets dark at like, 3:00
- 1:56:34or like to what is the point of this?
- 1:56:38Who is this helping? Because I'm like, you're all the
- 1:56:41way on the other side, but I'm like, in the Panhandle.
- 1:56:44So that's like, I don't know how many miles that way, but we
- 1:56:48either it's a lot. So that's insane.
- 1:56:51Yep. I thought we voted to get rid of
- 1:56:53this, right? It basically gets dark at the
- 1:56:56same time for us but I'm an hour behind so bad.
- 1:57:00It's true. I lose an extra hour of daylight
- 1:57:02as well, that's insane. Okay.
- 1:57:04Anyway hopefully this is the last time we do this and I hope
- 1:57:08we're on the other side. People were complaining about
- 1:57:10going to bed too late, and the weather and the time of day and
- 1:57:14the daylight place and my back hurts, my back hurts so bad
- 1:57:20right now. I'm gonna stand up later to hear
- 1:57:25my knees crack, but it's ridiculous.
- 1:57:31We shouldn't be acting like this.
- 1:57:33We are always wonder why most 25 year olds are out, clubbing and
- 1:57:38acting insane, and like, living the best life right now, my
- 1:57:43knees would give out. Oh, no, that's like on any day,
- 1:57:47like, I've always had bad knees. But like, I know sometimes what
- 1:57:50I do, like, like if I we Kpop choreography, and if they do
- 1:57:54like that, quick drop thing. I'm like, I'm not getting down.
- 1:57:57I will not come back up. I'm not doing.
- 1:58:00Get it. Just do the arm motion.
- 1:58:01I've not actually says I'm just putting myself down on the
- 1:58:04ground. I won't get back up, it'll be
- 1:58:06the end. I'm not any type of floor work,
- 1:58:10I'm not doing it. Nope.
- 1:58:12Like I know uhlans Dolly, choreography pretty well but I
- 1:58:16don't do that floor work. I can't, I will not get back up
- 1:58:20basically, like moving plank. I can't be flopping around like
- 1:58:26a whale thinking. So, yes, they do have a leader
- 1:58:35and it is G 0. So we will start with her.
- 1:58:38So, her birth name was actually pop G, so, but she legally
- 1:58:44changed it to park Ji Hyo before entering the competition show.
- 1:58:5016. Okay, so do you Gio was born in
- 1:58:55gutti? Yeonggi, do South Korea on
- 1:58:59February 1st. 1997. Under 97 liner.
- 1:59:04Let's go. I always have to do that.
- 1:59:07When I find it, I'll our age. She is in aquarius, so each
- 1:59:12member apparently has their own representative color, and
- 1:59:16representative Emoji. So I know her representative
- 1:59:21color is apricot. Representative Emoji is a
- 1:59:26unicorn. So out of all the members she
- 1:59:30trained the most for 10 years and Became a jyp trainee when
- 1:59:34she was in the third grade after she won second place and it
- 1:59:38caught on to new child World, third grade.
- 1:59:45How old are you in third grade? Like, 83 on baby?
- 1:59:52I don't even think your age are no kindergardens like five.
- 1:59:57So six seven. OK.
- 2:00:00Yeah, so eight eight or nine then?
- 2:00:03And they let they like to get them young know, I know have a
- 2:00:09childhood a discussion for another day.
- 2:00:19Okay, so next, we have the member nion and her real name is
- 2:00:24m Nye on. She was born September 22nd
- 2:00:281995. Now, Kpop profiles have this
- 2:00:32wrong because they said she's a Virgo, but she is actually a
- 2:00:36Libra. I should know.
- 2:00:38My brother's birthday is September 24th.
- 2:00:41And he's a Libra. So she's a Libra.
- 2:00:43She's not a Virgo, it's her birthday.
- 2:00:44The 22nd does it? It stopped at like the I've no
- 2:00:48idea. Did you actually look it up or
- 2:00:51you just going based on? If it's usually the 20th of like
- 2:00:54an old month and the 20th of the new month is usually when the
- 2:00:57star scientist, I think. But there's also another chart
- 2:01:02so that's why it's like if you're not counting the one with
- 2:01:06the snake which is the 19th. I'm getting off topic but the
- 2:01:09ophiuchus, she's dark signers are real quick.
- 2:01:12What? What sign is?
- 2:01:14November 22nd September September.
- 2:01:17So I'm sorry. September and I only know about
- 2:01:20the elf yuccas star sign because of fairytale.
- 2:01:23Yes, I learned that from an anime.
- 2:01:26That means very informative. What is the profile, right?
- 2:01:36I've been lied to. All right, guys, never mind.
- 2:01:39I guess she is a Virgo. This is make any sense to me,
- 2:01:43whatever, whatever. Okay, never mind, apparently
- 2:01:46she's a Virgo and the 20. So September 23rd is starting to
- 2:01:53give Libra season. All right, whatever.
- 2:01:58Maybe I should have looked this up before.
- 2:02:00It's fine. So, my get Nayan is a Virgo.
- 2:02:05Never And I was wrong. So next we have Mina names Me O
- 2:02:18é minha and she does have an English name and I will explain
- 2:02:22it. So, her English name is Sharon,
- 2:02:26I need Don't laugh, makes it that's like a white woman in her
- 2:02:3740s name. You mean, you said it not me.
- 2:02:50I agree. Okay, she was bored March 24th.
- 2:02:561997 another Nice depth line or let's go.
- 2:03:00She's an Aries. So she's Japanese but she was
- 2:03:05actually born in America. So she was born in San Antonio,
- 2:03:09Texas, and her family moved to Japan when she was a toddler,
- 2:03:12but she actually, recently gave up her American citizenship in
- 2:03:162019, why? I don't know.
- 2:03:19Do I blame her? Not at all.
- 2:03:22Yeah, get out while you. Can I show so much Country
- 2:03:26Pride, don't I You two better America that will show price of
- 2:03:32a bitch, this country. So did her parents do that, but
- 2:03:37they were sharing reason. I don't know, I can't answer
- 2:03:47that for you. I did explained, I explained by,
- 2:03:52she had an English name because she was born here in the states
- 2:03:57even though Amina is not hard to pronounce?
- 2:04:00No, no, I'm Americans can get over themselves and call her
- 2:04:03Mina but she had an English name.
- 2:04:07Sharon okay. What?
- 2:04:09Sharon And then last but certainly not least.
- 2:04:17We have Hmong name, who is yes. She's the youngest has want to
- 2:04:22make sure the what I keep. I don't know if I'm pronouncing
- 2:04:25her name, right? But it's tzu-yu.
- 2:04:28I think her name is pronounced, Troy, you tzu-yu?
- 2:04:33And yes. She hasn't gauche name.
- 2:04:36English name is Sally. You don't have grapes with Sally
- 2:04:40like you do with. Sharon may see Sally because my
- 2:04:45work has been playing Christmas music since the start of
- 2:04:49November. And there's a song that plays
- 2:04:52over and over all over again, called Sally Snowflake and I
- 2:04:56don't understand why we need this now.
- 2:04:57Like Sally smoke, like when we have Frosty the Snowman, like
- 2:05:00who the fuck is Sally? I've never heard of Sally
- 2:05:06snowflake. I had never heard of it until I
- 2:05:08heard. You're gonna keep hearing it
- 2:05:11until New Year's Day. Exactly.
- 2:05:14I don't, I don't really care but it's gonna play in my head now
- 2:05:19and I hate myself for remembering it.
- 2:05:22That old you here every day. I don't blame you, Sally
- 2:05:25snowflake. That's it.
- 2:05:26Just think I've never heard her. She must be.
- 2:05:29Do I do Frosty the Snowman right?
- 2:05:32Anyway. But yes, before we actually jump
- 2:05:39into the show, I just have a quick question the fee since
- 2:05:41this show is about, you know, like the law.
- 2:05:45Yeah, the law. Have you alone?
- 2:05:48Yeah, I didn't know how else to say it.
- 2:05:51So, have you ever done anything with like, the court system?
- 2:05:55Like I'll say, have you been ever like summoned for jury duty
- 2:05:58yet? Or had to serve on a jury?
- 2:06:01Oh, I haven't done any of that yet.
- 2:06:03Have you you never even been summoned?
- 2:06:05No. I've been some set the first
- 2:06:10time I didn't have to do what I wasn't selected.
- 2:06:12I was, you know, selected to hear about the case to see if
- 2:06:17they wanted to reflect me as a juror, I didn't get selected for
- 2:06:21the actual trial, and I think that one was a domestic abuse
- 2:06:27case. And then the second time was a
- 2:06:30drug case actually last year in 2021, and I did get selected.
- 2:06:36And I have got to play the race card because it was a black
- 2:06:40person on trial. Not only was I, the only black
- 2:06:42jurors selected. I was the only black woman
- 2:06:45jurors selected. So that was interesting and
- 2:06:48that's probably why they chose me.
- 2:06:50But yeah, I had to be a part of that for two days.
- 2:06:55It was interesting. So yeah.
- 2:06:58So how does that work? Like I guess kind of briefly go
- 2:07:00through that. Like, were you there the whole
- 2:07:03day? Do they give you breaks?
- 2:07:04Like how does that all work? Yeah.
- 2:07:06So, I mean, first, I don't know how it works in other countries
- 2:07:09but like in America, they send letters, you know.
- 2:07:12And jury duty is mandatory, basically, but you can't get out
- 2:07:15of it. If like, once you go there, I
- 2:07:18think you have to call them and say reasons why you can't
- 2:07:21Summit, or you can go, or you can push it back, but if you
- 2:07:28just don't show up at all, I know you can get in trouble.
- 2:07:31So, I went there at the time. They said, sit in a waiting room
- 2:07:35and sometimes they, Don't even like they might not even choose
- 2:07:38you to go into like the courtroom to hear about the
- 2:07:40case. So you have to wait it can be a
- 2:07:44while but I know both times I went it didn't take that long
- 2:07:47especially when I went last year.
- 2:07:49You know they are playing a lot of ketchup because of covid.
- 2:07:51So like the trial and the case that we are hearing about all
- 2:07:54happened in 2019 and yeah you just literally go in the
- 2:08:01courtroom. You listen to the attorney.
- 2:08:06So you Dino like the attorneys that are going to be involved in
- 2:08:10the case, like the defendant tourney.
- 2:08:12And then in this case, there's no plaintiff the plaintiff was
- 2:08:15like the state, like the State of Florida itself.
- 2:08:17So, sustained a turn or someone representing the state attorney.
- 2:08:22I'm trying to remember because like all this happened a year
- 2:08:25ago and sometimes remember what I did yesterday?
- 2:08:30So yeah, you listen to what the case is going to be about, and
- 2:08:33they'll ask the jurors questions because they don't want to pay.
- 2:08:36Jurors that may be biased in the case with their like ruling.
- 2:08:40So like, they don't want anyone. If they've been personally
- 2:08:42involved with like like I said this was a drug case.
- 2:08:45So if they have some type of way that will change their opinion
- 2:08:48on how they view the case, due to drugs, they don't want to
- 2:08:52pick you because they believe your opinion or your choosing of
- 2:08:55like guilty or not. Guilty will be biased and that
- 2:08:57way and things like that and then we'll ask you questions to
- 2:09:01try to see if like maybe the defendant might think you might
- 2:09:05lead. Or towards the defender case to
- 2:09:07plead to have them rule as not guilty.
- 2:09:12So they'll choose you that way. Or like, if the state attorney
- 2:09:14things that they have a good chance picking a juror that
- 2:09:17like, will rule in their favor, just things like that.
- 2:09:20So that whole process of selection, usually takes about
- 2:09:24four hours. And then like I said, trial
- 2:09:28itself took about two days. So the first day I was there all
- 2:09:32day, I think from like nine, The five or six in the second day,
- 2:09:37didn't take us long. We were able to leave by noon
- 2:09:41until we came to a conclusion pretty quickly.
- 2:09:44Do, they pay you not a lot? Okay, but you are still paid
- 2:09:47though, like $50 000 for the whole thing.
- 2:09:51Yes, it's not. What, when I say something like,
- 2:09:54it's like, it's not a lot. Thank you for your time.
- 2:09:57Here's 50 bucks. Pretty much because I forget
- 2:10:00what they use an excuse, not to really like, pay you pay you?
- 2:10:03It's supposed to be like a civil.
- 2:10:04Duty whatever crap they try to excuse.
- 2:10:07Oh yeah. You would make more just go into
- 2:10:10your regular job, then serving as a juror.
- 2:10:13And I don't know how much people make that aren't like attorneys
- 2:10:16or judges, like, regular people there make anyway, I know one
- 2:10:20may see was there. She only made minimum wage.
- 2:10:23Like, when she used to work at a courthouse, so it's not a one.
- 2:10:27Okay. That's interesting.
- 2:10:29Yeah, that's my small experience with the what type of branch is
- 2:10:36all is all that deal with. I haven't been in school while
- 2:10:39guy's dick shoulder it. What is it?
- 2:10:43What's the word I'm looking for? Yes to show.
- 2:10:48I can't even speak. Oh my gosh.
- 2:10:51Judicial judicial races. Yes yeah.
- 2:10:54But that's different because we're at America.
- 2:10:56This is the American judicial system and what we're going to
- 2:11:00talk about is Korea. Its, of course, I don't know a
- 2:11:03lot and by a lot, any of how their losses of works the way
- 2:11:08you organize this guy because I am going to be taking the lead
- 2:11:11as far as like the talking points and things of that
- 2:11:14nature. I try to mostly just focus on
- 2:11:16like attorney and her story. So I was able to actually find
- 2:11:26like an article where they interviewed the writer and I
- 2:11:30thought it was interesting just so we can bring up a little bit
- 2:11:32about like the discussion of the show.
- 2:11:34Good and bad still like one of the questions they asked her was
- 2:11:38like the reasons for choosing the word strange and her
- 2:11:41response was I thought the word strange was very appropriate to
- 2:11:44describe wooyoung. They're unfamiliar, had had a
- 2:11:48row, genius - meanings but she thought that strangeness leads
- 2:11:52to creativity and The power to make a better society.
- 2:11:55And then also, one of the podcasts that I listen to, I can
- 2:11:59put their Link in the description of this show.
- 2:12:04It's called the Kpop cast and they actually did like a review
- 2:12:07of the show and another show that I tried to watch and I
- 2:12:10didn't finish. I don't know if I'm going to go
- 2:12:12back to watching it but it's called flower of evil because
- 2:12:16they also recently put that on Netflix, I was watching it on
- 2:12:18Hulu and then they took off and then they put on Netflix but
- 2:12:20that that doesn't matter anyway. So the They had on their his
- 2:12:24name was Sam and he's from South Paul /, deliberation m, a
- 2:12:29podcast and at first, they started talking about which I
- 2:12:34guess I didn't realize. But if it makes sense how like
- 2:12:36it has changed in kdramas to the way they talk about like certain
- 2:12:40subjects because at first, if you notice and a lot of older
- 2:12:44kdramas and I guess you could say that an anime as well, like
- 2:12:47they would basically use a lot of coding for me characters to
- 2:12:52like try to hint. They maybe like Autistic or like
- 2:12:55queer or things of that nature. Hmm and basically with the title
- 2:13:00he was talking about how with the word a song or yeah.
- 2:13:06The word for strange. How they're trying to change
- 2:13:08like that term from like a negative to a positive light and
- 2:13:12he gave the example, or I'm just saying what he said in Korea
- 2:13:17when Koreans talk about like being gay and like weirdness in
- 2:13:20general, they'll call themselves Ebon which I S means like second
- 2:13:24class or like another class citizen but like they change
- 2:13:28that word from like a negative connotation to make it like a
- 2:13:31positive and empowering term which I made makes sense if you
- 2:13:34think about other communities. How they do that too, like I
- 2:13:37know being black black community, then word, we do that
- 2:13:41for Our Heroes which is why it's a problem.
- 2:13:43When someone else with black says it.
- 2:13:46I know for here as well, like in the gay community.
- 2:13:50I don't know how much like the younger generation uses, but
- 2:13:53like, The F-word is another good example of that, and I don't
- 2:13:57know if any other like communities internationally have
- 2:14:00words like that as well, but, those are just some examples.
- 2:14:04So, I didn't know if you had anything to say about that in
- 2:14:08the feast. Or if you took problems with
- 2:14:10like, the title at first, like I did, I thought it was weird.
- 2:14:16That's the use strange. But like after hearing, like,
- 2:14:19what the writers that it makes sense why they might with that?
- 2:14:22Yeah. So I mean, as long as they're
- 2:14:25able to explain why they went with it and obviously didn't
- 2:14:29come from a negative standpoint, then I guess it's okay.
- 2:14:31Yeah, that's what I said to you, especially after listening to
- 2:14:34that episode and hearing his point in his example of other
- 2:14:39things like that as well. Like, okay, to me, that makes
- 2:14:41sense. So yeah, I didn't see it as
- 2:14:45harmful as I did it the first time, but you also just need to
- 2:14:49know the meaning to understand. So, in a way though, I'm They
- 2:14:53did that because then it creates conversation or like it help at
- 2:14:57all if people think of the word In a Different Light.
- 2:15:00So I guess that was kind of their purpose to so worked out.
- 2:15:03Yeah. And then just another question,
- 2:15:08which was like the biggest one that I saw especially like
- 2:15:11online with this course, about a year ago, just the way she is
- 2:15:16and how she presents her like autism.
- 2:15:19So the question they asked was like some say that we only lose
- 2:15:22love because she's autistic, Stick by her disability is less
- 2:15:24exposed harmless and cute, and I'll personally say before I
- 2:15:30reveal like the writers answer, try to figure out how to say
- 2:15:35this properly either way. I know people disagree, but it's
- 2:15:39like, it's a drama, and it's a TV show.
- 2:15:44Their main focus out of no matter what they try to bring a
- 2:15:48light, like real life problems is to entertain.
- 2:15:52So that is the Number one thing to do as a TV show, I don't
- 2:15:57think and I'm saying this as someone who is not part of this
- 2:16:00community. So this is my point of view and
- 2:16:03I don't want to speak for the community themselves.
- 2:16:05I don't think they told any of the stories and too harsh way
- 2:16:10like they're trying to bring awareness to and I don't think
- 2:16:13they did it in like any type of mocking ways, but they're able
- 2:16:16to do is still to bring up discussion even if people
- 2:16:19disagree because I feel like no matter No matter what even
- 2:16:24people in, like, the Autism Spectrum Community, they all
- 2:16:28have such different views and backgrounds, and way they were
- 2:16:32brought up and the way their autism works and how they
- 2:16:34function in society, like no one person is the same and that's
- 2:16:38the same as like non-autistic person.
- 2:16:41So each story is going to be different whether you relate to
- 2:16:45real news story or not. Because I know a lot of problems
- 2:16:49was like not only the way she presents of being like, cute and
- 2:16:52harmless. And Childlike, but just like,
- 2:16:54being like a overall genius. So, because there are some
- 2:17:00people who do have, like harder time with their autism.
- 2:17:03We're like their mental capacity doesn't pass by a child but then
- 2:17:07there's also people who they call them high functioning where
- 2:17:11the could be like, ooh young you or they honestly could function
- 2:17:15in society, better and you would never know their autistic unless
- 2:17:18they tell you themselves. So yeah, I just think I am.
- 2:17:23Appreciate the show because it discussed or it brings up
- 2:17:26discussion of how autism of just bringing awareness of autism in
- 2:17:31general. And then having people in real
- 2:17:34life, talk about, like their experience with autism and how
- 2:17:36they function in society, whether they agree or disagree
- 2:17:40or feel like they can relate to Young ooh, or not.
- 2:17:44So I agree. Now, especially with, yeah, I
- 2:17:47agree because like you said it opens up a platform for people.
- 2:17:53Do, who are on the Spectrum to talk about like their
- 2:17:56experiences and I think, like her characters, one of the few
- 2:17:59ones that does represent autism in a much, more positive light,
- 2:18:06so to speak. So, yeah, it's good.
- 2:18:09It creates conversation and more awareness because in a lot of
- 2:18:13shows, it's usually in a negative way or like it shows
- 2:18:17them as like being unable to like be handled it It's usually
- 2:18:24like the stories are usually focused on like the caretakers
- 2:18:29instead of the actual autistic person itself.
- 2:18:32So just a lot of things on that side I feel like I had more to
- 2:18:36say but I think I can't remember though my brains all over the
- 2:18:40place right now. But yeah.
- 2:18:43And you can come back to it if you remember that.
- 2:18:45That's true I can. And it is just important to you
- 2:18:49like people who are around autistic people as well because
- 2:18:55even their views on autism, even though whether they have a child
- 2:18:59or like a sibling or someone close to them who has autism,
- 2:19:05their story is still different than like the autistic person
- 2:19:08themselves. So what When the rider was asked
- 2:19:15this question, she and I didn't write the whole thing, because
- 2:19:18it was a couple paragraphs by at least worked out the first one,
- 2:19:21but she said, if anything can make our society more livable or
- 2:19:23better place, I think it will not be our drama.
- 2:19:26But the opportunity, the drama spark for all this discussion as
- 2:19:29members of society, we are trying to listen to these
- 2:19:32discussion as humbly and seriously as possible.
- 2:19:34Yes, like any drama protagonist. Woo, Jung.
- 2:19:37Woo was created for the drama by the production team.
- 2:19:40But if he say that it's impossible for this care to
- 2:19:42actually Have ASD, that's not true somewhere in this world.
- 2:19:46I'm sure then an autistic person like Lou young who can exist,
- 2:19:49there are concerns about the characters, positive aspects
- 2:19:52being highlighted but when we showed our advising professor
- 2:19:55professor the script they said that they liked the stories
- 2:19:58approach is to focus on you, you know, young lose Merit.
- 2:20:03They said that until now fictional Works have emphasized
- 2:20:08emphasize the darker or more difficult side of autism so they
- 2:20:12support focusing. The interesting attractive and
- 2:20:14impressive aspects of autistic people, I took heart from that
- 2:20:18and proceeded. I think some may feel
- 2:20:20uncomfortable rather than defending myself.
- 2:20:22I would like to say that I understand and sympathize with
- 2:20:24that, and that there are inevitable limit to my work.
- 2:20:28And then she goes on to say more, but I just took down that
- 2:20:31first part because yeah, and I'll link the whole like
- 2:20:35interview at the bottom as well, because I think it's a very good
- 2:20:39and interesting read so. But yeah, I just wanted to bring
- 2:20:42that up because I know, like I said, that was one of the big
- 2:20:44discussions about this show from the beginning.
- 2:20:48So, okay, but still the show did its job, which I think the
- 2:20:53writer really want is just starts discussions.
- 2:20:55Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. People thinking discussions can
- 2:21:00be started, hopefully, in positive terms then I think they
- 2:21:04did a good job. I think, for the most part, for
- 2:21:06the most part, it has been in positive terms and not
- 2:21:10everyone's going to like everything.
- 2:21:11That's just the nature. Sure, we're all not going to
- 2:21:14like everything. So, all right.
- 2:21:20We'll say what the movie is. It's called Falling for
- 2:21:23Christmas that just came out, on Netflix, starting Lindsay Lohan.
- 2:21:27First of all, I just wanted to do a holiday movie because I
- 2:21:31feel like we have, we done a holiday movie at all.
- 2:21:36Know we've done. We've done Halloween movies, but
- 2:21:39that wasn't working out. So we decided to do as a cow
- 2:21:42because holiday movie it would never post it.
- 2:21:45Because, yeah, audio technical difficulties, that's the only
- 2:21:49episode. I was never able to To actually
- 2:21:50post. And then this year it was just
- 2:21:53too close. We were never able to do another
- 2:21:55one. So yeah.
- 2:21:58Hopefully next year, we'll actually be able to do all away
- 2:22:00one. Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:22:02But I picked this because I feel like I've said this before.
- 2:22:04I'm not really a rom-com person. First of all so difficult, like,
- 2:22:10oh, what movie we should do. And then the feast was like,
- 2:22:13well, let's pick a classic. I'm like, first of all, I don't
- 2:22:15know anything about any Classics classical How the Grinch Stole
- 2:22:19Christmas. Um, you didn't give example.
- 2:22:22So that's why I was like what Classics?
- 2:22:26And that's the only one I can really think of at the moment.
- 2:22:28Oh, what's that? Other one with the big tall?
- 2:22:30Dude, as the elf is it just L is elf?
- 2:22:34Listen. Oh, it's just because I'm not
- 2:22:38that big of a fan of Will Ferrell.
- 2:22:41I don't think he's that funny and I never did I watched elf as
- 2:22:46a kid and I didn't find it funny and then I re-watched as I was
- 2:22:49getting older and I was like, why did I think this was funny?
- 2:22:54I have my gripe with Will Ferrell it don't matter, but,
- 2:22:57yeah. But there was another one to
- 2:22:59where the father is like Santa Claus but his family doesn't
- 2:23:02know. That one was a classic 12, which
- 2:23:05is called Santa Claus, forgot the name.
- 2:23:08Is it just called Santa Claus? What Tim Allen?
- 2:23:12I think so. I like how.
- 2:23:14Now we're started record, we're thinking of all these classical
- 2:23:16Christmas movies, right? I was just like a classic movie
- 2:23:21like, yeah, it's cool to us. I didn't know how old classical
- 2:23:24you wanted to go. Well, I mean like our childhood
- 2:23:27classic like anything past that I probably wouldn't even know.
- 2:23:30Okay. Well anyway that maybe next year
- 2:23:33but for this next year and I just came out.
- 2:23:40So yeah this one because I did here.
- 2:23:42Lindsay Lohan was like making I guess this is considered her
- 2:23:46like a little comeback movie. No, I like Lindsay Lohan.
- 2:23:50If you grew up in like, the early 2000s, she was one of
- 2:23:53those child stars and teenage Stars not to get like a little
- 2:23:59dark but I feel like she was also one of those stars.
- 2:24:01Like as she got older she was just deep as like crazy and I
- 2:24:06always felt bad because I'm like well now that were in a new age
- 2:24:09where like oh so the people that we deemed especially child stars
- 2:24:13like crazy, we're just like you know Finding ways to deal with
- 2:24:16trauma of like being in Hollywood and all the the dark
- 2:24:19stuff and Hollywood that we don't even know about that.
- 2:24:21I won't get into because that's not what this is about.
- 2:24:23But I was just like, you know, I want to support.
- 2:24:26I feel like she deserves this chance.
- 2:24:28I never really had a problem with Lindsay Lohan and The Watch
- 2:24:31someone come. And tell me she did something
- 2:24:33problematic but then again, everyone these days, it don't
- 2:24:36matter. Anyway.
- 2:24:38Yeah, that was really. Yeah, reason I saw her, I
- 2:24:40actually saw the trailer for it like earlier in the month and
- 2:24:46I'm like, oh this looks interesting.
- 2:24:49But like there's one thing that kind of bothers me about it, but
- 2:24:52I'll tell you about it later. It's very minimal, but I guess
- 2:24:56once you see it you see it. Yeah.
- 2:24:59I'll just say right now. I just wish they did her makeup
- 2:25:01better like that's it. Don't that I agree with that.
- 2:25:05Like I just wish they had done her makeup a little bit better
- 2:25:08but everything else about the movie was kind of cute but yeah
- 2:25:12so when I saw the trailer I'm like oh look this is very
- 2:25:14interesting but it's like you know, it's going to be a typical
- 2:25:18you know, Christmas movie Trope. So I wasn't too surprised when I
- 2:25:22actually did watch it. So yeah that's pretty much the
- 2:25:25only reason just Justice for childhood star is you know it's
- 2:25:29right. Gomez documentary coming out
- 2:25:32which I didn't finish. Watching.
- 2:25:33But then, like Jennette McCurdy book Wing.
- 2:25:36I know people will like, get in their arguments talking about
- 2:25:39like, oh, they're like rich and famous and they chose has, I
- 2:25:43kind of see that slightly different when it comes to
- 2:25:46children. I don't really feel like they
- 2:25:49choose it sometimes. Yeah.
- 2:25:51I mean because they'll say they want it but then like it's this
- 2:25:54is still a job I think people forget and that's a lot to put
- 2:25:57on a child who's like is not fully developed and like they're
- 2:26:01all thinking and like Choice-making and they're just
- 2:26:04following what authorities are telling them to do.
- 2:26:07Yeah again this is supposed to be happy fun episodes.
- 2:26:10We're not going to get too much into that but I feel like I've
- 2:26:13talked about this for a while because a lot of things have
- 2:26:16just been coming out. So yeah.
- 2:26:18Anyway, well yeah, Christmas movies.
- 2:26:22This is why I don't watch a lot of Christmas movies especially
- 2:26:25if you like. Oh really?
- 2:26:26Because of that reason. No, I'm just talking about
- 2:26:29because of cheesy. I was talked about the childhood
- 2:26:31saying I moved on Oh no, it's crazy.
- 2:26:35And like I Don't do cheesy that much like sometimes they're cute
- 2:26:41and I'm trying to get more into, you know, just watch these don't
- 2:26:44think to critically of them just draw it but sometimes.
- 2:26:48Yeah, I have to laugh at stuff when I know I'm not supposed to
- 2:26:51be laughing. Hmm.
- 2:26:54All right, so, let's jump right into it.
- 2:26:58I'm just curious. Also, like, and I maybe that has
- 2:27:01to be more research on my end, like how they decide where they
- 2:27:06want to distribute these. The movies like what made them
- 2:27:09choose Netflix and that like Hallmark because I have can
- 2:27:11honestly see this on my, it's a Hallmark movie.
- 2:27:14Yeah, our Channel because let me tell you, if anyone has like a
- 2:27:18grandparent, like my grandma, when November first hits that
- 2:27:21remote that channel does not change from November 1st.
- 2:27:24December 31st that TV stays on the Hallmark Channel.
- 2:27:30Yeah. I mean that's their season,
- 2:27:33right? So that's where they make most
- 2:27:36the money. Yeah.
- 2:27:37Okay. Which that one girl or lady from
- 2:27:40Full House, really? Like mess up the bag because she
- 2:27:44wants to be homophobic but again, wait what?
- 2:27:48Well, that's his death of different conversation but the
- 2:27:50conversation for another day if you know, you know, I feel like
- 2:27:53I always know about these different transgressions through
- 2:27:56you too much. And I really need to stop.
- 2:28:04Number two is three kids. And number one is BTS.
- 2:28:07So even though I have a lot of my top songs right now, are
- 2:28:11stray, kids, I still listen to a shit ton of BTS.
- 2:28:20And of course, like may see what's my number one, everyone
- 2:28:24BTS. Say it with us.
- 2:28:29We have a problem. We are almost five years into
- 2:28:35this and we're still going strong, which is some of this
- 2:28:40before we started recording. But like the amount of minutes
- 2:28:45is like ridiculous what everyone else.
- 2:28:48Like all my other minutes are, For every other artist it's
- 2:28:52literally three times Beyonce's, which he's my second and it's
- 2:28:57like three times that, yeah, is this always shocks me because,
- 2:29:01like I said, I feel like I've said this before, but I usually
- 2:29:04will get into stuff. But then like I would calm down
- 2:29:08or like lose interest, maybe the longest would be a year or two.
- 2:29:12The fact that I'm still like obsessed with them as I am.
- 2:29:15When I first got into them, I still calm down but you know,
- 2:29:20It's almost been 5 years. It's just insane to me.
- 2:29:24Knowing the type personality, I have I don't want to it's not
- 2:29:32because it's it's fiction but like a lot of fans from what I
- 2:29:36listen to that are fans of Girls Generation and know her
- 2:29:41speculate. It's like a little bit of a
- 2:29:43snippet of like her time being there because it's about like a
- 2:29:47korean-american who, like it's picked up to be in a K-Pop
- 2:29:50group. And if you've read the book,
- 2:29:53some people are trying to figure out which characters represent
- 2:29:56like, which like members of Girls Generation because I guess
- 2:30:00there's it's some like tiny sneak peek drama of like things
- 2:30:04that happened some mean girl stuff, all that, maybe some
- 2:30:09romance with another group, like one of the boy groups all that
- 2:30:15stuff that's really the only drama I was talking about but
- 2:30:18yeah I don't have any info on that which is not like if I'm
- 2:30:23sure this happens like a lot more than we think and these
- 2:30:29groups Yeah, but I don't ever want to talk about it.
- 2:30:32It's fine. Sure.
- 2:30:34They're all, you know, the people don't get along sometimes
- 2:30:38you know like you can be a bad person and being these groups
- 2:30:41and like I think you've said this in the past, the bunch of
- 2:30:44young, very pretty people. Like I'm sure they're dating.
- 2:30:47Well, you missed your silly if you think they're not exactly.
- 2:30:51And like, at the end of the day, this is like your job.
- 2:30:54So a lot of them treat each other like coworkers.
- 2:30:58It's very rare that you're going to like One in the group, not
- 2:31:02saying, there aren't groups that really form bonds and are like
- 2:31:05families but that's not for every group.
- 2:31:09Who exactly are like, I know, from SM just real quick because
- 2:31:14they're also from SM. I know, like I saw a clip or
- 2:31:17maybe when I was watching youngji's YouTube video, she had
- 2:31:22key from Shinee on there and he was actually pretty open about
- 2:31:27it and express like at the end of the day, like when When
- 2:31:30companies are like oh we're all family here.
- 2:31:33It's bullcrap. Like I'm here to do a job.
- 2:31:35We're all coworkers. Y'all aren't my family, which I
- 2:31:39don't blame him. One of them.
- 2:31:45And her. She is a lead vocalist and a
- 2:31:48rapper. She was born, May 15th 1989
- 2:31:53incorrect. Horus after mine.
- 2:32:01She's a lot older than me. But yay.
- 2:32:09One, two, three, four. Five of them were born in 89.
- 2:32:14So they're All very close in age.
- 2:32:17So, her uncle is Lee. So man who is SM Entertainment?
- 2:32:24He's the president. Wait, wait, the lease uman.
- 2:32:30Yeah, is her uncle? Oh yeah, oh oh, hey, you mean
- 2:32:38the creator of SM? Basically, it's for real.
- 2:32:42Yeah. Oh, okay.
- 2:32:45Oh interesting. Okay, so she helped that family
- 2:32:51Dynamic works, right? She joined Starlight
- 2:32:56entertainment. Which from what I understand is
- 2:32:58an SM Academy for like trainees and she trained there for five
- 2:33:04years and she was supposed to debut in a group called sugar,
- 2:33:10but they never ended up debuting.
- 2:33:12Like they were planned but they didn't debut.
- 2:33:14So, she switched to she became a tray of proper training at SM
- 2:33:19and joined SNSD in 2007. So she was only like a trainee
- 2:33:24for. Oh, I think I saw like five
- 2:33:26months after that. She was trained for five years.
- 2:33:29Trying to be this group and then they were like, no, we're just
- 2:33:32going to put you in Girls Generation so and then I can't
- 2:33:36get over the fact that least, who - her uncle, I'm sorry.
- 2:33:41Yeah we're just for you because like here in America recently,
- 2:33:44Italy, a huge, like news article, just released something
- 2:33:48about like nepotism babies. So that kind of makes you know
- 2:33:54how that works and Korean like the Korean entertainment.
- 2:33:58It's interesting at this is makes me think as I could do
- 2:34:01with this, but I'm just curious now, Hopefully, I'll be able to
- 2:34:08help me with this so once I get there I'll let you know.
- 2:34:13Okay, you're number five. I put the 79 89 for number 4.
- 2:34:19I put la la number three, I put Girls Generation.
- 2:34:24Number two, I put into the new world and the number one, I put
- 2:34:27the Korean solve, the only one on the list that's in kanji and
- 2:34:31I don't know how to say it. So meet Hannah, Google You mean
- 2:34:36Hong Kong? You know what?
- 2:34:51I'm gonna just put both as the title track.
- 2:34:54Also, it's fine. If, if you happen to like, I
- 2:35:01kind of like looked up some of these songs because I was so
- 2:35:04kind of freaked out by the fact that I knew all of them from
- 2:35:07like childhood. If you've heard Run Devil Run
- 2:35:10and you don't think it's them, you could have also heard the
- 2:35:13leaked version, that cash added because so Run Devil Run was
- 2:35:17written by third-party. I didn't write his name down.
- 2:35:20Are their names down, they commissioned Kesha to do a demo
- 2:35:27of it in 2008, which was leaked in 2009.
- 2:35:32But the song was later, sold to Girls Generation, who actually
- 2:35:35own it and produced it and did it.
- 2:35:38But if you've ever heard the song and you think, well, I've
- 2:35:41heard that like the chorus but I don't think it's them.
- 2:35:44It's not in Korean. You probably heard the leaked
- 2:35:46version of Kesha's demo, so just random Because I was like, why
- 2:35:53the heck do I know this song? So I remember there's as well,
- 2:35:56but I went and listened to the Kesha one.
- 2:35:58I'm like, oh, I've definitely heard this as well.
- 2:36:00So, okay, I didn't know that. So that's some good facts to
- 2:36:04know. They do that a lot too, so that
- 2:36:08that doesn't sound surprising to me, but interesting.
- 2:36:12Yeah, I don't have the writers of the songs written down, but
- 2:36:15just, they were deciding who they wanted to sing it and they,
- 2:36:20Actually thinking Kesha, and then they went with Girls
- 2:36:22Generation and I believe it was originally written in Korean
- 2:36:26translated to English for Kesha and then they decided to they
- 2:36:31just like the Korean version better and went with Girls
- 2:36:33Generation, could you imagine if Kesha did end up singing this
- 2:36:37song, like if it was released under Kesha, knowing the type of
- 2:36:42music she was making back then. Yeah.
- 2:36:45That would have been. It's always the what ifs?
- 2:36:48Like I said in the 21. Sewed.
- 2:36:51What if that version of Holy crap, why am I forgetting the
- 2:36:58song? Wow.
- 2:37:02Why am I forgetting the song? The very popular wanted 2011.
- 2:37:08The one that was supposed to feature Justin Bieber on it. -
- 2:37:12Chi chalica. Why am I only remember the
- 2:37:15Korean? What?
- 2:37:26Wow. Anyway, anyway, so for your
- 2:37:36number five.
