- 0:14Speaker 2: Well, that's what I decided on just in the moment.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Okay, Well I would never know because I always wear
- 0:19Speaker 3: my flannel on flannel Fridays.

- 0:22Speaker 1: I have found some chilling two sentence stories that will
- 0:30Speaker 1: have you quivering whilst walking into work or school today, Angie.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Okay, the baby monitor crackled to life.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Then it whispered my name.
- 0:50Speaker 4: I don't like that. I don't like that. That's creepy.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Story number two. I smiled at my reflection in the mirror.
- 0:58Speaker 2: That sounds nice. Yeah, it smiled back before I did.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Eh tweak me out?
- 1:05Speaker 1: No, all right, I called to see who was upstairs.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Someone answered from right behind me. Oh, that one got
- 1:18Speaker 1: me gain.
- 1:20Speaker 2: As we are.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Celebrating spooky season here seven Halloween's only twenty one days away.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Crawloween is even closer October twenty fifth.
- 1:31Speaker 1: All right, I set the photo down on the table.
- 1:36Speaker 1: When I looked again, everyone in it was staring at me. Eh,
- 1:44Speaker 1: al right, this one will probably tweet me out here.
- 1:47Speaker 1: My dog growled at the closet door. I froze because
- 1:54Speaker 1: I just locked it.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Ew.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Corey hates when she sees our dog like staring at
- 2:02Speaker 1: the wall or something thing.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, some ghost because dogs and babies see ghosts.
- 2:08Speaker 2: That's what they say.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, I got two more for you here, Angie.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I talked to my son into bed and turned off
- 2:15Speaker 1: the light. Then I heard his voice call me from downstairs. No, no, no.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Oh, I hate that. Ew. You're gonna give me nightmares.
- 2:28Speaker 2: All right, you're ready? Last one?
- 2:30Speaker 1: Eh? Okay, a shadow moved under my bedroom door, but
- 2:36Speaker 1: I live alone. No, no, I'm of the scariest two
- 2:42Speaker 1: sentenced stories for you.
- 2:43Speaker 2: You can use those this Halloween.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I've got one for you.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Oh late on me. I'm ready.
- 2:48Speaker 3: The Big ninety eight point seven show. Morning show is
- 2:53Speaker 3: off air.
- 2:57Speaker 2: You start the.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Days Variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Happy Flannel Friday. All right, A great day for a
- 3:08Speaker 1: flannel sunshine and sixty three today. Long story short, I've
- 3:12Speaker 1: been doing Flannel Friday for eighteen years. It all got
- 3:14Speaker 1: started with my chemistry teacher when I was sixteen years old,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and little did he know I would continue doing this
- 3:19Speaker 1: as a thirty four year old man.
- 3:21Speaker 4: This is gonna be your legacy.
- 3:23Speaker 2: That's right. We have made it to the end of
- 3:25Speaker 2: the work week. We're excited.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The vibes are high in the studio here today and
- 3:30Speaker 1: we're excited to have a good.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Friday with you.
- 3:31Speaker 1: And we practice gratitude every single day. You know, if
- 3:36Speaker 1: you wake up and start your morning and you're thankful
- 3:38Speaker 1: for something, even if it's just a little something, or
- 3:41Speaker 1: you're excited about something or happy about something, go do
- 3:45Speaker 1: that one time for me and see how your day improves.
- 3:47Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna do that for you right now
- 3:49Speaker 1: with little victories.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Good. I'm so excited, Gabe, because the kids don't have
- 3:58Speaker 3: school today. It's fun break, which means when I get
- 4:02Speaker 3: home from work.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Today, the house is going to be perfectly clean.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It will be such a trash disaster. But that means
- 4:10Speaker 3: that I can just relax and not get back up
- 4:13Speaker 3: to go pick the kids up from two different schools.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Right, that's it.
- 4:18Speaker 4: They're just home. They're there waiting for me when you
- 4:20Speaker 4: get home at me. But I love it.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, when you get holme, your errands are done, yes,
- 4:25Speaker 2: And that.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Is such a little victory because sometimes and by sometimes,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I mean most of the time.
- 4:32Speaker 4: When I get it's like, okay, I just want to
- 4:36Speaker 4: chill out.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I want to catch up on some reality TV that
- 4:39Speaker 3: I always have to set my timer on my phone
- 4:42Speaker 3: for how long I can watch because then I have
- 4:44Speaker 3: to go pick up the kids.
- 4:46Speaker 4: And I'm just really excited that I don't have to
- 4:47Speaker 4: do that today.
- 4:48Speaker 1: That's wonderful. You know this timer thing, I still don't understand.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Oh that I set timers for everything in my life.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But you could just set an alarm for the exact
- 4:56Speaker 2: time you know you have to get them instead of
- 4:58Speaker 2: doing the math on the timer.
- 5:00Speaker 4: No, I don't know an alarm. I don't like. It's
- 5:02Speaker 4: gotta be a timer.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You know what. To each their own. I'm happy for you.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I am jack that the second you know you're out
- 5:09Speaker 1: of the building today, you're on your way home, you could,
- 5:11Speaker 1: in theory, PLoP your booty down on the couch and
- 5:14Speaker 1: you're just done.
- 5:15Speaker 4: That's the plan. And I'm gonna watch Love Is Blind.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Wonderful. My wife's watching that show as well.
- 5:21Speaker 1: My little victory once again, I'm gonna shoehorn in like
- 5:24Speaker 1: five little victories here, But Hockey's back. It was awesome
- 5:27Speaker 1: to see the wild completely dominate. But one thing that
- 5:30Speaker 1: was very fun, and you don't know this if you're
- 5:33Speaker 1: just tuned in here. This morning, when Angie was in
- 5:35Speaker 1: talks of coming to join Big ninety eight point seven,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I randomly went on a tie rate about how dope
- 5:43Speaker 1: Quick Star is or Quick Trip is, and Angie and
- 5:46Speaker 1: I went and checked out the new Quick Trip.
- 5:49Speaker 2: In more Head. Yeah, and we'll put well, Angie will
- 5:52Speaker 2: put together a little montage for you. I'll be there
- 5:55Speaker 2: in support.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But I mean, Gabe, I've never seen you look so
- 5:59Speaker 3: happy in your life. Eyes lit up like it was Christmas.
- 6:02Speaker 3: It's like a kid in a candy store. So it
- 6:04Speaker 3: was just kind of fun that this thing I'd been
- 6:06Speaker 3: talking to Angie about kind of as a joke finally
- 6:09Speaker 3: came to Fruition.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So that was awesome.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yesterday we had our first big happy hour that we
- 6:15Speaker 1: moved back an hour from five to seven, which was
- 6:18Speaker 1: so much fun. You know, it's a lot easier for
- 6:20Speaker 1: people to get there from five to seven, and the
- 6:22Speaker 1: place was just packed.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It was a lot of Yeah, that was a really
- 6:25Speaker 2: good time.
- 6:25Speaker 4: That's a little victory for me too. That was a
- 6:27Speaker 4: great time.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It was a ton of fun. So thank you so
- 6:29Speaker 2: much for you.
- 6:30Speaker 1: If you stopped by Happy Hour yesterday on the way,
- 6:33Speaker 1: we have dua lip.
- 6:34Speaker 2: We also have the tea coming up. You enjoy your
- 6:37Speaker 2: Flannel Friday.
- 6:37Speaker 1: If you do put one on, don't forget to tag
- 6:40Speaker 1: us or send us the photo or whatever, and we
- 6:44Speaker 1: can just kind of get a little Flannel Friday community here. Now,
- 6:53Speaker 1: this is a bit of a wild story, but this
- 6:56Speaker 1: is a very true story that I'm trying to pick
- 7:00Speaker 1: sure how it would work in my brain. And I
- 7:03Speaker 1: am not trying to be insulting, but I wonder a
- 7:06Speaker 1: little bit if this person like they're a heart of seeing,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know, like the heart of hearing vision impedes. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: So there is this person who was on a shipwreck, right,
- 7:19Speaker 1: and they were basically lost at sea and they were
- 7:22Speaker 1: clinging to what they believed was an oil barrel. Okay,
- 7:28Speaker 1: long story short, this person's fine. They got rescued and
- 7:32Speaker 1: it was not an oil barrel this person was clinging to.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It was a sea turtle.
- 7:37Speaker 1: How do you this is a this is a very
- 7:41Speaker 1: true story. How do you not know, sir, that you
- 7:45Speaker 1: are hanging on to those little fish that you would
- 7:48Speaker 1: see in dory or finding nemo.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Okay, well you know what I feel. Okay,
- 7:55Speaker 3: then I laughed, because they're safe now, they're perfectly I
- 7:58Speaker 3: cannot that's how do you.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I don't get it. I don't get it. But you
- 8:05Speaker 4: know what, things be crazy when you're in a situation.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I've never been in a situation where I've had to survive,
- 8:11Speaker 3: but I imagine, like everything seems like foreign and weird and
- 8:15Speaker 3: what and your.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Brain is going crazy.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, and it just thought, yeah, seems like an
- 8:20Speaker 3: oil drum to me.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I said, sir. This woman reportedly clung to
- 8:25Speaker 1: this turtle for two days.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Before being ready. Two days forty eight hours.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Wow, I'm impressed at the clinging power.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Well, you think, like, at some point, doesn't this sea
- 8:36Speaker 1: turtle just go all right, like you're on your own.
- 8:39Speaker 3: No, I think the sea turtle sea turtle is like, well,
- 8:42Speaker 3: this is life now again.
- 8:44Speaker 1: If the sea turtle really wanted to get away from
- 8:47Speaker 1: this lady, you know what it could have done just
- 8:50Speaker 1: gone underwater for more than like a minute.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Yeah, then she would read had to let go.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Ah, but then that just makes this sea turtle a
- 8:58Speaker 3: hero exactly.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Make it a pit movie.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I like it so, Angie, Maybe not to this extreme
- 9:04Speaker 1: of a situation, because obviously this lady's kind of just
- 9:07Speaker 1: clingingto this turtle and she gets rescued. Yeah, but let's
- 9:10Speaker 1: say you were in some type of Survivor situation as
- 9:14Speaker 1: you heard Destiny's Child there, not two minute or I
- 9:17Speaker 1: don't know, twenty seconds ago.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Do you have any survival skills?
- 9:21Speaker 1: If you do right now, let us know seven oh
- 9:23Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I tell Corey this all the time.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I have seen every episode of Survivor man upwards of
- 9:32Speaker 1: five to ten times. Do I know how to do
- 9:34Speaker 1: all this stuff? Absolutely not. But I do know what
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're supposed to do and in what order? I don't
- 9:41Speaker 1: know any I have no survivals. You don't think you
- 9:43Speaker 1: build a shelter, get a fire going something.
- 9:46Speaker 4: No, I always say, and I've talked to your wife
- 9:48Speaker 4: about this.
- 9:49Speaker 3: In the event of like a zombie apocalypse, right and
- 9:52Speaker 3: you have to move into survival mode, no, I volunteer
- 9:55Speaker 3: this tribute. Okay, throw me to the zombies so you
- 9:58Speaker 3: can escape. I have no survival skills whatsoever. I don't
- 10:02Speaker 3: have a sense of direction. That's very at all. So
- 10:04Speaker 3: the second it's like there's no GPS and they're like, well,
- 10:09Speaker 3: we can seek safety north of here cardinal directions.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I have no idea north of where, like just eat
- 10:17Speaker 4: eat mes on.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You're volunteering his food. Yes, oh that's nice.
- 10:20Speaker 4: All right?
- 10:20Speaker 2: What about you, Melissa, do you have a survival skill?
- 10:23Speaker 3: I'd probably get surprisingly creative with food, like it's turning
- 10:27Speaker 3: random plants or coconuts into something edible without sorry.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I do get a little nervous, and she did thank
- 10:33Speaker 1: you most of her clarifying that at the end. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: do get a little nervous though, when people say, oh yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: plants and making them edible or creating them to be edible.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I mean, have you ever seen the Into the Wild movie?
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that haunt.
- 10:46Speaker 2: It's a very sad ending. Yeah there, all right. What
- 10:48Speaker 2: about you, Kevin.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I can probably build a shelter pretty quickly, and that
- 10:51Speaker 4: i'd be easy for me.
- 10:53Speaker 3: But of course shelter wouldn't be the.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Only problem on the island.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You gotta find fresh water and food too.
- 10:59Speaker 2: See.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think of all of the survival skills, Angie, if
- 11:02Speaker 1: you really really had to, at the very least build
- 11:05Speaker 1: a shelter.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You probably could.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you basically just get a bunch
- 11:09Speaker 1: of sticks, put him in some type of shape or
- 11:13Speaker 1: form that you can sit under, and then just cover
- 11:15Speaker 1: it with a bunch of leaves.
- 11:17Speaker 2: At the very least you could do that.
- 11:18Speaker 4: No, I can't even follow the directions for legos.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I can't.
- 11:28Speaker 3: This is am I the problem where you send us
- 11:31Speaker 3: your side of the story and we let you know
- 11:33Speaker 3: if you're in the right or if maybe, just maybe
- 11:36Speaker 3: you are the problem. We had Brian right into us.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Need some help figuring out if he has overstepped as
- 11:45Speaker 3: an uncle. Hey, Gabe and Angie, I could use your
- 11:47Speaker 3: take on a little family situation that's been bugging me.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I bought my eighteen month old nephew a so tough toy,
- 11:54Speaker 3: and while he was playing with it, throwing it on
- 11:55Speaker 3: the ground, picking it up, laughing, his sixteen year old
- 11:59Speaker 3: sister got up and started kicking.
- 12:00Speaker 4: It around like a soccer ball.
- 12:03Speaker 3: My nephew thought it was hilarious, but their mom asked
- 12:05Speaker 3: her to stop.
- 12:07Speaker 4: My niece said she was just playing.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I didn't say anything right then, but later I mentioned
- 12:13Speaker 3: it to my brother that it felt kind of disrespectful.
- 12:16Speaker 3: For my niece to be kicking the toy, not a
- 12:18Speaker 3: big deal, but it rubbed me the wrong way. He
- 12:21Speaker 3: ended up talking to his daughter about it, and now
- 12:24Speaker 3: I feel guilty that I said anything. Did I overstep
- 12:27Speaker 3: by bringing it up or was it fair to say
- 12:29Speaker 3: something since I gave the toy as a gift. Thanks
- 12:33Speaker 3: for any advice, love the show and your take on
- 12:36Speaker 3: family stuff.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I'm going to.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Defer to you as the resident uncle Gabe because I
- 12:42Speaker 3: can never be an uncle at best, I can be
- 12:44Speaker 3: an aunt.
- 12:45Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, what are your thoughts on this?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Ah, here's what I'll say.
- 12:52Speaker 1: There is two ways that this could go, and I
- 12:55Speaker 1: might need a tiny bit more information, but here's what
- 12:58Speaker 1: i'd say. What I feel guilt that, you know, my brother,
- 13:02Speaker 1: brother in law or whatever had to talk to his
- 13:05Speaker 1: daughter that I felt disrespectful.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I would not feel guilty at all, you little you
- 13:11Speaker 1: know what what? But I would feel guilty if brother
- 13:16Speaker 1: or brother in law said that Uncle Gabe felt bad.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So did he tell the daughter that I felt bad?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Or was he just like, hey, that was kind of disrespectful.
- 13:24Speaker 4: To Oh, she knows.
- 13:27Speaker 1: That I basically snitched. Yeah, I feel terrible if she
- 13:30Speaker 1: doesn't know. I don't feel guilty at all. I'm glad
- 13:33Speaker 1: you got in game.
- 13:35Speaker 3: But that is a fair point.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I mean from this pick something I bought and brought
- 13:41Speaker 1: over here around like a soccer ball.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Okay, but your next to you.
- 13:45Speaker 2: You know better than that.
- 13:46Speaker 4: But the nephew liked it, like he even said.
- 13:49Speaker 3: The nephew was like laughing, and the mom said, oh stop,
- 13:54Speaker 3: So clearly the mom was on the same page. I
- 13:56Speaker 3: think I'm sorry, Brian. I think you're the problem. You
- 13:59Speaker 3: did make it a bigger deal than it was. Because
- 14:01Speaker 3: if mom already made her stop, right, and your nephew
- 14:06Speaker 3: liked it anyway, Like, it's kind of crazy to me
- 14:10Speaker 3: that you just couldn't keep.
- 14:11Speaker 4: That one inside.
- 14:12Speaker 3: That's certain things just keep to yourself. Why did you
- 14:15Speaker 3: have to mention it?
- 14:16Speaker 2: No, I'm with you on that.
- 14:17Speaker 1: That's where you kind of all right, bro or bro
- 14:20Speaker 1: in law, how did this story go? Because how I'm
- 14:23Speaker 1: going to operate further? Yeah, exactly, pil I love when
- 14:27Speaker 1: I can get my niece and nephew in trouble. It's
- 14:29Speaker 1: always very harmless and it's very funny. But I wouldn't
- 14:32Speaker 1: feel that bad, Bro. You felt away, and you said
- 14:34Speaker 1: something about he cares.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I think he should feel guilty, and I'm glad he
- 14:38Speaker 3: feels guilty. You should, Brian, I don't think that was
- 14:41Speaker 3: the move. What do you think seven oh one two
- 14:43Speaker 3: eight zero one nine eight seven. Did Brian step out
- 14:48Speaker 3: of bounds when he decided to mention that he felt
- 14:51Speaker 3: disrespected by his niece or should he.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Have just kept it bottled in and kept it moving. Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 3: We had Brian ride into us asking if he was
- 15:05Speaker 3: the problem after gifting his eighteen month old.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Nephew a stuffed toy.
- 15:11Speaker 3: His niece, a sixteen year old girl, was kicking it
- 15:15Speaker 3: around like a soccer ball. Mom made her stop. Even
- 15:19Speaker 3: though the nephew was having a blast laughing. He thought
- 15:22Speaker 3: it was great. Mom made her stop. But then later
- 15:26Speaker 3: he said to his brother, honestly, it rubbed me the
- 15:28Speaker 3: wrong way and it felt kind of disrespectful when your
- 15:31Speaker 3: daughter was kicking the toy around.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Then he went.
- 15:35Speaker 3: To his daughter and said, hey, this upset your uncle.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And now Brian is feeling guilty and feels bad that
- 15:44Speaker 3: he brought it up.
- 15:45Speaker 4: He's unsure if he's the problem. What are your thoughts?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I had a little more information. I
- 15:51Speaker 1: want to know, Hey, Brian, were you just like venting
- 15:53Speaker 1: to your brother and then he went and blabbed like, hey, dude,
- 15:55Speaker 1: shut up.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I was just telling you I was annoyed.
- 15:57Speaker 1: You know. Did you go like snitch or were you
- 16:00Speaker 1: talking to your brother with the hopes that he would
- 16:03Speaker 1: then go talk to your niece, you know, because that
- 16:05Speaker 1: would change my answer kind of one way or the other.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Chrissy hit us up on Facebook and said, I mean,
- 16:11Speaker 3: I don't think he stepped out of bounds. This was
- 16:13Speaker 3: a gift of a stuffed toy, not a soccer ball.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Just because in eighteen month old giggles doesn't mean it's
- 16:19Speaker 3: the right thing to do. I mean, the dad didn't
- 16:21Speaker 3: have to go to the niece since mom already said something.
- 16:25Speaker 4: But that's not on you.
- 16:27Speaker 3: You have a right to have your feelings about it,
- 16:29Speaker 3: all right, Brian.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Chrissy is team you?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like fifty to fifty.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I think I'm not team Brian. I think he was
