Roman Reigns losing or Bronson Reed winning? 37 00:03:21,000 --> 00:03:27,000 I think Bronson Reed winning because, I mean, we've seen Roman, we just saw Roman lose the Cody 38 00:03:27,000 --> 00:03:33,000 You know, wasn't that long ago, we've seen Roman lose the Brock, I was there, I mean, I skipped a match, I was there for one of those 39 00:03:33,000 --> 00:03:38,000 Putting somebody like Bronson Reed over Roman Reigns 40 00:03:38,000 --> 00:03:41,000 That's one of those career defining wins 41 00:03:41,000 --> 00:03:46,000 I mean, go back to when Curtis Axle beat Triple H and how long they hyped that up for afterwards 42 00:03:46,000 --> 00:03:55,000 I mean, this is something they can stand, like Bronson Reed can stand on for the next five years as they try to make him a made event guy 43 00:03:55,000 --> 00:03:57,000 It's like this is the guy that beat Roman Reigns 44 00:03:57,000 --> 00:04:03,000 You know, this is the, and they can repeat that over and over, this is the one in 2021 45 00:04:03,000 --> 00:04:14,000 I mean, it's that type of narrative, it's a big deal for a guy who for all intents of purposes has been cast as a mid-card guy 46 00:04:14,000 --> 00:04:18,000 Even in the vision, he's kind of a mid-card guy 47 00:04:18,000 --> 00:04:23,000 He beat Roman Reigns now by hook, by crook, really a thinnety 48 00:04:23,000 --> 00:04:31,000 It only matters where the W falls into column and now Bronson Reed has a pinfall victory over Roman Reigns 49 00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:39,000 Yeah, he is the second person in a one-on-one match in like the last five years that has beat pin Roman Reigns 50 00:04:39,000 --> 00:04:46,000 It was obviously Cody at WrestleMania 40, 40, was Cody Rhodes and now Bronson Reed here at Crown Jewel 51 00:04:46,000 --> 00:04:57,000 And so, Jake Uso has a pin on Roman as well during that five years pin, but that was a tag team match that I actually think happened at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia when it was like the Uso's taken on Roman 52 00:04:57,000 --> 00:05:02,000 And so, and so, and so, and Jake got the pin on that night 53 00:05:02,000 --> 00:05:07,000 And before that, five years ago, the last person to pin Roman before that, do you remember who it was? 54 00:05:07,000 --> 00:05:09,000 Baron Corbin, yep 55 00:05:09,000 --> 00:05:11,000 And it was like this, unemployed 56 00:05:11,000 --> 00:05:18,000 He's Bishop Dwyer now, and I believe that was this December 2019 because I remember they were hyping that up a lot when Cody eventually pin Roman 57 00:05:18,000 --> 00:05:26,000 But in this tribal chief era of Roman Reigns only two people in a one-on-one match have pinned Roman Reigns and now Bronson Reed is one of them 58 00:05:26,000 --> 00:05:32,000 So that's a huge part of Roman Bronson Reigns resume here 59 00:05:32,000 --> 00:05:38,000 And this is kind of the theme at least of this first half of the show, even the stuff that we'll talk about post-Cron Jewel 60 00:05:38,000 --> 00:05:47,000 I'm digging it because this is the future of wrestling is healthy because I love seeing guys like Bronson Reed get an opportunity with a torch and run with it a bit 61 00:05:47,000 --> 00:05:50,000 Because I think Bronson Reed is extremely talented 62 00:05:50,000 --> 00:05:54,000 So even though I picked Roman Reigns, I'm very happy for Bronson Reed getting the victory here 63 00:05:54,000 --> 00:06:01,000 Next match is Women's World Champion, Sefi Vakor, Defeating WWE Women's Champion, Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE Women's Crown Jewel 64 00:06:01,000 --> 00:06:09,000 Championship, both Dottrey and I had Vakor in this one, this was a really solid match with some hard-heading spots, both women have had a pretty huge break through the year 65 00:06:09,000 --> 00:06:16,000 So it was pretty cool seeing them both reach the point as I would not have predicted both of them in this match a year ago 66 00:06:16,000 --> 00:06:23,000 Dr. Trey, I ask you, NXT North American Championship, NXT Women's Championship, WWE Women's World Championship 67 00:06:23,000 --> 00:06:34,000 And now the WWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship all captured in one year for Sefi Vakor is this the most historic year for a woman's wrestler we've ever seen? 68 00:06:34,000 --> 00:06:48,000 Yeah, I kind of think so, I mean to have this much build up for somebody who have this many accomplishments in one year is insane 69 00:06:48,000 --> 00:07:03,000 It might be the best one year for a woman or a man in recent memory, I mean, I mean, I mean, Braun Breaker's run from NXT Champion to NXT Tag Team Champion to Intercontinental Champion in any years 70 00:07:03,000 --> 00:07:17,000 As well, but to accomplish basically winning every outside the Intercontinental title, which I don't think she ever had a challenge for it, I mean she's won every championship, she's really had a shot at this year 71 00:07:17,000 --> 00:07:29,000 So just an impressive run and the crazy thing is if you go back a year ago, they signed Julia and Stephanie the same time, I don't think either of us would have big Stephanie to have this run between those two ladies 72 00:07:29,000 --> 00:07:39,000 So just an incredible just, hey, she got signed, she came out of the box, she hit it and they just put the rockets trapped to her, he shot her to the moon 73 00:07:39,000 --> 00:07:47,000 No, for me, it was always like Julia, Julia, Julia, that's everything that you read about online was Julia, go on the WWE, Julia, go on the WWE, go on the WWE 74 00:07:47,000 --> 00:08:01,000 The only time I really had heard of Stephanie Vaakor was some of the CML stuff and then obviously got on my radar when she had the match with Mercedes-Bone at Forbidden Door last year as a CML, a women's champion taking on Mercedes-Bone 75 00:08:01,000 --> 00:08:09,000 And then it just felt like she would eventually end up in a W and then that's up with her leaving for WWE, the way that it happened 76 00:08:09,000 --> 00:08:21,000 It was kind of the story and the noise around her and she is completely surpassed Julia right now and it's amazing, she's had a really, really amazing year, a breakout year, break through year 77 00:08:21,000 --> 00:08:26,000 I mean we are less than, we're probably around two months away Dr. Tray from doing our award show 78 00:08:26,000 --> 00:08:32,000 I have felt like for the most part of 2025 that this was Timeless Tony Storms a year as a female wrestler 79 00:08:32,000 --> 00:08:46,000 75th Corps may be coming on late here to pull past her as a women's wrestler here Dr. Tray because I mean you win four titles in one year, four separate titles in one year and break through like she has 80 00:08:46,000 --> 00:08:50,000 We've never seen anything like this in professional wrestling, male or female 81 00:08:50,000 --> 00:08:58,000 And only lost one of those, she was only paying for the NXT Women's Championship, she was not paying for the North American title 82 00:08:58,000 --> 00:09:11,000 She hasn't lost the World title, I guess we're calling the Crown Jewel a championship, it's once a year type thing but to have that kind of run and really be untouched in a lot of ways 83 00:09:11,000 --> 00:09:15,000 Getting to this point, it's just an incredible incredible run 84 00:09:15,000 --> 00:09:21,000 We're very much knee jerk so it's kind of like she's really, really hot 85 00:09:21,000 --> 00:09:28,000 Tony since losing the AEW Women's Championship is in a good feud but it does kind of like it's pushed her down a little bit 86 00:09:28,000 --> 00:09:32,000 I still don't want to discount though the first ten months that Tony Storm has as well 87 00:09:32,000 --> 00:09:39,000 No, not at all, I mean I'm not even discrediting what she's doing presently, it's just like as Vachor Pastor is really what the discussion is 88 00:09:39,000 --> 00:09:46,000 And as it like Tony has taken a step back, it's did Vachor surpass her as like an impact year for women's wrestling 89 00:09:46,000 --> 00:09:53,000 I would love to hear from people that say, hit us up on X, add us or to you podcast or on facebook.com/thisstillrealthashow 90 00:09:53,000 --> 00:09:59,000 Or if you're a Patreon member, patreon.com/srtupodcast where you can talk directly to Dr. Trey and I 91 00:09:59,000 --> 00:10:04,000 Next match here is John Cena defeating AJ Styles, I had AJ Styles Dr. Trey and John Cena 92 00:10:04,000 --> 00:10:09,000 This was a love story, two professional wrestling, poetic and retaining and just flat out wonderful 93 00:10:09,000 --> 00:10:12,000 What else is there to say about this match? Quite honestly 94 00:10:12,000 --> 00:10:18,000 I loved every second, there was zero story going into it other than celebrating two of this generations all time 95 00:10:18,000 --> 00:10:25,000 Greats also the sea of John Cena where and the crowd was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen from a crowd 96 00:10:25,000 --> 00:10:28,000 Wearing one particular piece of merchandise 97 00:10:28,000 --> 00:10:35,000 That's nuts, the amount of yellow t-shirts that were in the crowd for this entire pay-per-view PLA 98 00:10:35,000 --> 00:10:38,000 Amazing, amazing stuff 99 00:10:38,000 --> 00:10:43,000 Dr. Trey I ask you if this match was more like how they handled the entire John Cena retirement tour 100 00:10:43,000 --> 00:10:46,000 Would it be considered the great farewell to professional wrestling? 101 00:10:46,000 --> 00:10:52,000 The greatest farewell to professional wrestling is this farewell one of the greatest no matter what though 102 00:10:52,000 --> 00:10:59,000 Yeah I'm going to lean into, I mean outside of the Brock Lesnar match which I think you and I both really didn't care for 103 00:10:59,000 --> 00:11:02,000 It's one of the greatest retirement runs I've ever seen 104 00:11:02,000 --> 00:11:04,000 And really we don't get these 105 00:11:04,000 --> 00:11:10,000 This is really the only one I can think of where it was announced that it's a one-year thing and dead it up 106 00:11:10,000 --> 00:11:13,000 But you know other ones you've kind of known the riding was on the wall 107 00:11:13,000 --> 00:11:17,000 Like we talk about staying in Rick Flair as the mother ones 108 00:11:17,000 --> 00:11:24,000 Every match Cena has had outside of the Lesnar one has been really really good 109 00:11:24,000 --> 00:11:26,000 This one surpassed them all 110 00:11:26,000 --> 00:11:33,000 Part of it is I will say it's the love and appreciation we have for both these guys 111 00:11:33,000 --> 00:11:40,000 Kind of elves because look Jeff in all honesty if you saw two indie guys doing this match you and I was shit all over it 112 00:11:40,000 --> 00:11:46,000 But because it's seen an AJ and it's a love letter to their history 113 00:11:46,000 --> 00:11:50,000 It makes a ton of sense but if we saw two indie guys throwing out 114 00:11:50,000 --> 00:11:56,000 You know skull crushing finale's Kekina Kluxes scorpion death drops RKOs 115 00:11:56,000 --> 00:12:01,000 We'd be like oh this match was awful but because of the situation 116 00:12:01,000 --> 00:12:06,000 It's the perfect setting for this kind of match so I'm with you 117 00:12:06,000 --> 00:12:10,000 I absolutely loved it it was it's arguably my match of the year already 118 00:12:10,000 --> 00:12:13,000 We got just a couple months left I don't know what else is gonna get thrown out there 119 00:12:13,000 --> 00:12:23,000 That's gonna top this match because it was just beautifully beautifully written done by the two guys that defined a generation of TNA wrestling in WWE 120 00:12:23,000 --> 00:12:30,000 Even John's love note for Alicia Taylor to read about AJ was beautiful 121 00:12:30,000 --> 00:12:34,000 Like I got kind of emotional watching this match in honesty 122 00:12:34,000 --> 00:12:41,000 Yeah it's it was a special match it was an ode to their generation and their generation spans of you know 123 00:12:41,000 --> 00:12:50,000 Cena was just predominantly WWE he obviously had a run no BW under developmental and UPW which was a Californian based independent wrestling promotion 124 00:12:50,000 --> 00:12:57,000 That which back in the day I would read their results on like one wrestling dot com or PWInsider dot com 125 00:12:57,000 --> 00:13:05,000 I think this was post John Cena era but like that's where John Cena comes from and then AJ Styles was ring of honor 126 00:13:05,000 --> 00:13:17,000 It was NWA Wildside NWA TNA TNA a bunch of stuff that AJ Styles and it was basically just a love note to press and wrestling whether they were paying tribute to Randy Orin from John Cena 127 00:13:17,000 --> 00:13:21,000 Or if they were paying tribute to Angel Wings which was Christopher Daniels 128 00:13:21,000 --> 00:13:32,000 He did Frank Hussarian tributes it was just an all in all like just a hat tip to the wrestling in the 2000s that die hards loved and a lot of us grew up on 129 00:13:32,000 --> 00:13:41,000 I mean it's it's after I would I would say my generation of wrestling my generation of wrestling was the new generation an attitude era of WWE 130 00:13:41,000 --> 00:13:47,000 And then Monday Night Wars this was that post my generation run but it was still something that I kept a really close eye on 131 00:13:47,000 --> 00:13:57,000 It was a very special time for professional wrestling so I mean we're tipping our hats here our hand on this entire thing where we would say like this is a match of the year can it 132 00:13:57,000 --> 00:14:10,000 I'm with you I think the only match to me right now Dr. Trey that is in contention to have a debate here is I loved John Cena versus CM Punk at the Saudi Rabi in show earlier this year which I can't 133 00:14:10,000 --> 00:14:30,000 The name is escaping me right now what it was back in June that was a jewel no it was I would crap I don't know I can't think of it now but anyway I thought no I think it was I think it was a crown jewel I think it was just called crown jewel and then this is crowned 134 00:14:30,000 --> 00:14:49,000 It was not a champion I wasn't a champion okay yeah there you go it's it's right I mean this one I it's hard for me to pick because maybe you know out of this the generation you're referring to the ruthless aggression or whatever you want to call it I mean AJ and CM Punk are probably my two favorite guys and Cena's had great matches 135 00:14:49,000 --> 00:15:10,000 ball so it's kind of hard to pick one or the other like my it to me it might be like how smooth some of those oads those omajas really were like that skull crushing finale was so seamless and then the transition from the walls of Jericho into the cocaine clutch like damn that was really well done they 136 00:15:10,000 --> 00:15:26,000 hit some of these moves but the guys using them I mean that scorpion death drop was phenomenal like I mean there was a lot of stuff in the match where you're like man that was just really well executed by a guy who never uses that move like it it's an ode to both 137 00:15:26,000 --> 00:15:37,000 those guys not only performing but for the guy selling it is it's really I mean the the Cena punk match is really great it's nostalgic for that generation that love that 138 00:15:37,000 --> 00:15:53,000 I mean I'm sorry but for this to me kind of falls a little bit into that Kevin Owens a stone cold Steve Austin match from a couple years ago where it's like look there was no storyline this was just two guys going out there and making me putting me all 139 00:15:53,000 --> 00:16:03,000 up in the fields again much like that match day for different reasons but just the fact that it was such a great competitive match and they were able to fit in 140 00:16:03,000 --> 00:16:14,000 the hat tips to all these guys from for that they that they came up with like maybe feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside yeah it was a really special time for professional 141 00:16:14,000 --> 00:16:22,000 residents like you you have this that first wave of professional wrestling that you like catch on to so for me it was like the rock and wrestling area 142 00:16:22,000 --> 00:16:31,000 and then when you kind of get into a little more of the new generation and you get older and you still into it attitude era and then you have because I remember talking to like Eric 143 00:16:31,000 --> 00:16:39,000 Ardulot when he was on the show back in the day and a lot of wrestling fans were like this is you have that tape trading era where you would go on message boards or whatever and you would 144 00:16:39,000 --> 00:16:46,000 you know try to find out what's going on over in Japan or the rest of the world that's outside of the WWE bubble and that that was kind of my 145 00:16:46,000 --> 00:16:59,000 generation like you had seen in WWE but AJ styles like I was following them around and after he left WCW whether it be in the way wild side ring of honor all that stuff it's like that's where I found a lot of these guys 146 00:16:59,000 --> 00:17:08,000 that's where you found the freaking caesareans the Christopher Daniels and then later on in life the people that are now known as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens and that was a special time for 147 00:17:08,000 --> 00:17:17,000 fresh arrests and a lot of people that are predominant stars in wrestling today in both brands came from that generation that's a Mojo is Roderick Strong Claudio 148 00:17:17,000 --> 00:17:30,000 Cassec Nolis like those guys shine in that then later on in that generation the Tyler Blackstone and Seth Rons John Moxley see a punk so it's yeah it was a nice 149 00:17:30,000 --> 00:17:41,000 love note to that generation professional wrestling and it was a beautiful match and it's one that I think will be debated towards the end of the year wasn't the match of the year when we look back at it next match here is real Ripley and EO sky 150 00:17:41,000 --> 00:17:51,000 defending the Kabuki Warriors Dr. Shrein I will have to rean EO in this one this was a good hard hitting women's tag team match from a storyline perspective this makes a ton of sense. However I 151 00:17:51,000 --> 00:18:01,000 think they did this tag team match about a month ago and said give me the full spotlight and perth where she faced like Oscar in a one on match with EO in her corner rather than the tag team match that is just me being 152 00:18:01,000 --> 00:18:11,000 nitpicky but it was still a fun tag team match. Dr. Shrein earlier this year you felt like EO was the odd wrestler in the mix of the real Ripley Bianca Belair build to wrestle any 153 00:18:11,000 --> 00:18:23,000 41 as she wasn't as established as the other two stars did you feel like EO's current build over the last years change your mind about her stature now. 154 00:18:23,000 --> 00:18:39,000 Oh yeah I would say yes I mean they've done a good job of building up and that was what I was kind of saying last year is heading into that match I don't feel like you looked at her on the same level as Rhea and Bianca and I think now you can look at her as being 155 00:18:39,000 --> 00:18:44,000 closer to that level if not on the little Bianca's had a really bad year. 156 00:18:44,000 --> 00:19:08,000 Rhea still a rock star so I think I mean if I was plotting about would actually probably be a one EO to Bianca three on on levels just based on last you 12 18 months or performance EO's really really close I do think her her struggling still like her promos are good she's fun but I don't think anybody's really on Rhea's level right now maybe 157 00:19:08,000 --> 00:19:23,000 outside of Becky but so I think it's much they've done a much better job of elevating her to that constant main event level that maybe where she came in at 12 months ago. 158 00:19:23,000 --> 00:19:36,000 Yeah it's been a fun year for EO as well watching her build I've always been a big EO fan and it definitely feels like that she's in that top echelon of women's wrestlers in the past year and just just overall fun character so 159 00:19:36,000 --> 00:19:41,000 re-ripply EO sky get in the victory in Perth Western Australia and then the main event here. 160 00:19:41,000 --> 00:19:48,000 The World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rawls defeats Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to win the WWE Men's Crown Jewel Championship. 161 00:19:48,000 --> 00:19:57,000 You and I both had Seth in this one great match with some awesome back and forth Cody and Seth have some insane chemistry in the ring and they told another great story in the ring. 162 00:19:57,000 --> 00:20:10,000 Seth finally exhausted his demons by defeating Cody almost cleanly sidebar the crossroads needs to stop being kicked out of so much it's getting into the weak finisher territory. 163 00:20:10,000 --> 00:20:26,000 It's getting kicked out of way too much with that said doctor what is the closest comparison for the Cody Rhodes Seth Rawls feud because for me I look at this I'm like man what is this feud like because it's definitely reached this point where 10 years from now we took about we look back at it and 164 00:20:26,000 --> 00:20:36,000 we look at it finally I feel like this is the rock versus triple H what say you what is the closest comparison of this feud is that you can not compare it to. 165 00:20:36,000 --> 00:20:54,000 I'm going to say maybe Brett and Sean interesting like because it's more size yeah like you know you rock in triple is good but you know those are big those are kind of bigger guys hitting hard both these guys are you in that average wrestler size range. 166 00:20:54,000 --> 00:21:23,000 Maybe Sean and Owen when they had their little rivalry going after Brett left I mean it's too main event guys so I kind of it doesn't have the animosity of Brett and Sean where you felt like oh no those two guys actually really really hate each other I don't think these two guys actually age I think there's a mutual respect borderline work friendship I think I don't I don't think Cody and Seth hang out like in hotel rooms after the show playing video games. 167 00:21:23,000 --> 00:21:51,000 But I think they get along to work time stuff. But yeah it's just that rivalry in you know like they don't have bad matches you do feel like there's a little bit maybe like professional jealousy at times between the two guys so that that's kind of where I'm and like I said size wise I mean this is basically size of Brett and Sean going at it so that's kind of where I land with my comparison for. 168 00:21:51,000 --> 00:22:13,000 Paper you prediction record on this one for crown you I went three and two doctor when I perfect five and oh on the two twenty five paper you predictions record doctor leads at fifty eight and sixteen I'm at fifty four and eighteen match of the night and event rating I will go first here doctor try I gave crown jewel solid four point oh my match the night no shock here john cn. 169 00:22:13,000 --> 00:22:33,000 University of styles what say you my friend I have a little bit higher I got a four point to on this one I really enjoyed the show not to mention you know obviously match tonight scene in an age of fantastic but also getting the Bronson read victory that's that I always kind of like is there an anchor point is 170 00:22:33,000 --> 00:22:50,000 something from this show I can hold on to and the scene of eight the scene of AJ matches definitely one I remember that match for a while and then Bronson read getting a pin fall victory over Roman reigns is a linchpin moment for this guy's current now in five years 171 00:22:50,000 --> 00:23:02,000 if Bronson reason released again and not doing anything it'll kind of not matter at all but if this is his springboard into being a main event level guy where he's in five years he's got a world title rain on his belt you 172 00:23:02,000 --> 00:23:18,000 look back to the show and say it's his turning point so I got a four point to on it there you go feel free to chime in at s r a two podcast on X Facebook dot com slash the still real though show or on patron patriot on patron dot com slash s r to you podcast 173 00:23:18,000 --> 00:23:26,660 doctor tre with that said the close from this past weeks edition of Monday night rod felt like everything was in a good spot Seth wrong is coming off crown 174 00:23:26,660 --> 00:23:38,660 july defeat feed feed it Cody roads finally defeated Cody roads in wwe wins the wwe men's crown jewel championship all is well and right in the world we could start building towards Saturday nights 175 00:23:38,660 --> 00:23:52,160 main event where we'd eventually take on CM Punk for the world away title and then that would lead to the men's war game match and then eventually a bill towards rest of any 42 well that was all put on its head at the close of Monday night 176 00:23:52,160 --> 00:23:58,320 Raw, when Bron Breaker shocked the world by turning on Seth Rollins. 177 00:23:58,320 --> 00:24:00,720 It seems like everything was right in the vision. 178 00:24:00,720 --> 00:24:06,380 He gets in the face of one Paul Heyman and says you're either with me or against me. 179 00:24:06,380 --> 00:24:10,040 He actually gets into Bronson, reads face and says you're with me or against me. 180 00:24:10,040 --> 00:24:18,380 Bronson reads, then proceeds to Sunami Seth Rollins, and aligning with Bronson, Bron breaker. 181 00:24:18,380 --> 00:24:21,680 Then he gets in the face of Paul Heyman and says you're either with me or gets you. 182 00:24:21,680 --> 00:24:28,560 Or against me and Paul Heyman decides to align with Bron Breaker and Bronson, reads. 183 00:24:28,560 --> 00:24:37,360 This sped up a storyline that we figured would happen at some point, but like a year, a year and a half, maybe even two years down the line. 184 00:24:37,360 --> 00:24:44,000 It felt like we would have that evolution type spin on it where Batista and Randy Orr would eventually break away, 185 00:24:44,000 --> 00:24:48,560 and the crowd would start cheering for Bron Breaker, they'd start cheering for Bronson, 186 00:24:48,560 --> 00:24:54,640 and read they would tell us who is the next top star, which obviously led to a lot of things to try. 187 00:24:54,640 --> 00:24:56,120 What is going on? 188 00:24:56,120 --> 00:24:59,120 What is the word on the street in regards to, like, why did they do this now? 189 00:24:59,120 --> 00:25:05,160 It makes no storyline sense whatsoever because Seth Rollins would not align with CM Punk, L.A. Night, J.U. 190 00:25:05,160 --> 00:25:08,520 So Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, to take on the vision. 191 00:25:08,520 --> 00:25:10,960 Like, what is going on here? 192 00:25:10,960 --> 00:25:17,960 Reports are circulating right now that Seth Rollins was injured during the coast to coast move on Cody Rhodes 193 00:25:17,960 --> 00:25:20,760 during their match that we just recapped. 194 00:25:20,760 --> 00:25:23,160 Dave Meltzer reporting on Restombs Server Live. 195 00:25:23,160 --> 00:25:29,320 There was stories out there and fiddie photos of Seth Rollins in a sling on Sunday before a raw. 196 00:25:29,320 --> 00:25:37,040 Dave Meltzer reported earlier today following the Seth Rollins injury, saying that he will be out through Restomany 42, 197 00:25:37,040 --> 00:25:41,760 saying, quote, "Well, looks like he's going to need surgery on the shoulder, and that's pretty much it. 198 00:25:41,760 --> 00:25:45,320 The story that I got was that he was going to have surgery as soon as possible. 199 00:25:45,320 --> 00:25:50,080 That was from a couple days ago and everything else I haven't heard anything as far as what they're going to do, 200 00:25:50,080 --> 00:25:57,720 with the world heavyweight title, but if he has surgery, he's going to be out for a long time, probably past mania." 201 00:25:57,720 --> 00:26:03,960 Dr. Tray, let's recap the vision ending to raw this past Monday. 202 00:26:03,960 --> 00:26:11,960 Thoughts, and then we'll shed it all down from the injury stuff, and then where does this rank with other endings to Monday Night Raw? 203 00:26:11,960 --> 00:26:19,720 Or any doubly show in general, your overall thoughts, the vision has turned on Seth Rollins. 204 00:26:19,720 --> 00:26:21,880 I mean, it was pretty shocking. 205 00:26:21,880 --> 00:26:28,520 We didn't really know about the injury at that point, things like that, but to see it play out right there. 206 00:26:28,520 --> 00:26:36,040 You had that moment last Monday where Seth had asked Paul Heyman, "What happens if I lose?" 207 00:26:36,040 --> 00:26:42,520 Paul Heyman says, "Hey, then I got a question. Why did I leave Roman?" 208 00:26:42,520 --> 00:26:48,360 Then you have that little segment at Crown Jewel with Seth and Roman together, and then you get this. 209 00:26:48,360 --> 00:26:53,160 Maybe this was all in the plans, but it felt rushed. 210 00:26:53,160 --> 00:26:55,000 That was my next direction. 211 00:26:55,000 --> 00:26:56,160 We're doing this now. 212 00:26:56,160 --> 00:26:58,960 The really Seth got the win. 213 00:26:58,960 --> 00:27:01,000 Seth got the victory. 214 00:27:01,000 --> 00:27:03,320 He got what he needed to cement his place. 215 00:27:03,320 --> 00:27:05,960 I was a little taken aback. 216 00:27:05,960 --> 00:27:13,880 Then when you hear the reports about the shoulder injury, it kind of makes sense, but it had me worried for Braun and Braun. 217 00:27:13,880 --> 00:27:26,120 I don't want the vision to turn into bloodline 2.0 MFTs, where it's now pushed down to the mid-card level. 218 00:27:26,120 --> 00:27:31,240 These are two main event guys that you've just made, and you want to keep them up there, 219 00:27:31,240 --> 00:27:38,440 but without that main attraction guy with them, are they ready to stand on their own? 220 00:27:38,440 --> 00:27:41,480 This isn't the two-man power trip. 221 00:27:41,480 --> 00:27:43,480 This is not stone-cold and triple H-lang up. 222 00:27:43,480 --> 00:27:49,400 It's two strong individual guys who've made a decent tag team, but you kind of want that third person. 223 00:27:49,400 --> 00:27:51,400 Maybe they do get that third person down the road. 224 00:27:51,400 --> 00:27:56,760 Right now, it was just kind of like, I was taking a back-and-shogged, but for an ending to raw, 225 00:27:56,760 --> 00:27:59,640 it stands out. 226 00:27:59,640 --> 00:28:00,200 It's memorable. 227 00:28:00,200 --> 00:28:02,440 You're like, "Wait, where the hell does come from? How does this happen?" 228 00:28:02,440 --> 00:28:08,280 Now, everybody's like, "I got to end in the raw next week to see what the fall out is." 229 00:28:08,280 --> 00:28:12,600 So for an ending to a TV show, it was really damn good, Jeff. 230 00:28:12,600 --> 00:28:18,520 First off, I'm disappointed by the angle because I think we're being robbed as wrestling fans 231 00:28:18,520 --> 00:28:19,800 as to how this would play out. 232 00:28:19,800 --> 00:28:25,160 I think that's first and foremost, I just had this vision in my head that at some point, 233 00:28:25,160 --> 00:28:30,840 this would play out where maybe Lesnar's being shared as maybe face-hacking on Braun Breaker. 234 00:28:30,840 --> 00:28:32,200 There's some rumblings at those two. 235 00:28:32,200 --> 00:28:35,160 A match at WrestleMania 42. 236 00:28:35,160 --> 00:28:40,600 I eventually felt like Braun Breaker was going to be the breakout star of the group because 237 00:28:40,600 --> 00:28:43,400 the fans already are cheering them. They want to cheer him. 238 00:28:43,400 --> 00:28:46,760 And that moment where he would turn on Seth Rollins would be more impactful than what we saw 239 00:28:46,760 --> 00:28:51,640 this past Monday. So I do feel like we were robbed of watching this storyline play out. 240 00:28:51,640 --> 00:28:55,640 It was a decision that needed to be made and the minute the decision was made that they were 241 00:28:55,640 --> 00:28:59,240 going to turn on Seth Rollins, it felt like Rollins was going to be out for a while. 242 00:28:59,240 --> 00:29:03,560 And what was funny is there were reports that were circulating that were saying they weren't too sure 243 00:29:03,560 --> 00:29:07,880 how long he would be out for. I think I saw something at one point like a month. 244 00:29:07,880 --> 00:29:12,520 They don't do this type of angle for Seth Rollins to come back in early December. 245 00:29:12,520 --> 00:29:17,080 That's that you don't do an angle like this. You basically took the vision storyline and you 246 00:29:17,080 --> 00:29:23,160 lit it on fire right then and there. And it's funny because you're like, are they going to get a 247 00:29:23,160 --> 00:29:28,200 third person? I think, you know, does Lesnar slide into that spot? You know, now that he's back with 248 00:29:28,200 --> 00:29:32,840 with Hayman to a degree, he's not going to be there each and every week. I saw people putting 249 00:29:32,840 --> 00:29:37,720 fan theories out there because the reports are circulating again that it's very likely that 250 00:29:37,720 --> 00:29:45,800 Cherico returns to WWE. Well, his contract from what I believe doesn't end until early 2026, 251 00:29:45,800 --> 00:29:51,960 like the first month of 2026. So I don't think that they did this with that plan in place right now. 252 00:29:51,960 --> 00:29:56,680 My guess is they don't have a plan in place. They need to do something. They need to write Seth 253 00:29:56,680 --> 00:30:01,640 Rollins off a television. And I don't, if that's to be true, I don't know if this is the right 254 00:30:01,640 --> 00:30:06,760 direction of a Dr. Trey, quite honestly. I think this is obviously one that gets a lot of people 255 00:30:06,760 --> 00:30:10,520 talking. We're talking about it. It's the number one story and professional wrestling this week. 256 00:30:10,520 --> 00:30:17,080 But I would have done something as simple as if he was okay to take the spear from Braun Breaker. 257 00:30:17,080 --> 00:30:24,920 Let him do some sort of match where he gets destroyed by like CM Punk and Punk wins the title. 258 00:30:24,920 --> 00:30:31,560 And Rollins is injured in the process and he's on the shelf for a while. And the vision is just 259 00:30:31,560 --> 00:30:36,520 avenging his loss and they're awaiting their leader to return at some point. I thought the split was 260 00:30:36,520 --> 00:30:41,640 really interesting because even when it happened, the fans were cheering on Braun Breaker that they 261 00:30:41,640 --> 00:30:47,560 don't want a cheer on Seth Rollins. And then the Seth Rollins character in general is he's 262 00:30:47,560 --> 00:30:54,280 got a return and most likely be a baby face. I would gather unless there's like this complete 180 263 00:30:54,280 --> 00:30:58,760 with the guys on the vision right now, but just looking at it on the surface. If that's to be the 264 00:30:58,760 --> 00:31:04,680 case, he's not going to be aligning with CM Punk Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns anytime soon. 265 00:31:05,240 --> 00:31:10,840 Because there's going to be massive trust issues there. So the overall direction is very, very 266 00:31:10,840 --> 00:31:16,120 intriguing and interesting and it's a ball of yarn that I want to see how WWE creative pulls 267 00:31:16,120 --> 00:31:20,600 themselves out of it. I think that they'll do a good job pulling themselves out of it. But it's 268 00:31:20,600 --> 00:31:25,320 probably not a popular opinion, but I was disappointed at how it played out quite honestly. I would 269 00:31:25,320 --> 00:31:29,400 prefer to different direction and try to keep this vision group together, even if Rollins is going 270 00:31:29,400 --> 00:31:37,560 to be on the shelf for eight months plus out of the year. Yeah, my thought on when they said, 271 00:31:37,560 --> 00:31:42,760 oh, he's going to be out for past wrestle. He was like, wait, Bronson Reed hit him with six 272 00:31:42,760 --> 00:31:47,240 tsunamis last year. And he was out like what a month? Yes. 273 00:31:47,240 --> 00:31:55,960 So but one spear and one tsunami is going to keep him out six months. That doesn't make sense. 274 00:31:55,960 --> 00:32:00,280 And that was kind of my thought was like, look, if you're going to take him out, think about your 275 00:32:00,280 --> 00:32:06,920 history because we've given triple H in the creative team a lot of credit for knowing their audience 276 00:32:06,920 --> 00:32:13,240 and knowing like the hardcore fans remember stuff. Like do the do a stone call thing? Who hit 277 00:32:13,240 --> 00:32:17,960 who it set with the car in the parking lot? And there's an investigation. I mean, a little bit like 278 00:32:17,960 --> 00:32:22,360 the Jade Cargill thing from last year. You could do something like that because you're right. 279 00:32:22,360 --> 00:32:28,920 Like right now they positioned it. We all want to see Brons turn on Seth and Brons be the baby face. 280 00:32:28,920 --> 00:32:35,480 And you end up getting Brons as still being the heel. And now is this going to be like a 281 00:32:35,480 --> 00:32:40,360 Charlotte thing where like you're going to force us to cheer for Seth even though maybe we don't want to 282 00:32:40,360 --> 00:32:46,600 and it's going to take somebody that's going to take it might take him having to team with CM Punk 283 00:32:46,600 --> 00:32:51,800 to get us to cheer for Seth again. You know, it's it's a weird situation. Not to mention Seth's 284 00:32:51,800 --> 00:32:56,920 wife's Becky is Becky going to be with AJ for a while and if she does and Seth comes back, 285 00:32:56,920 --> 00:33:01,560 we're not going to like Seth because we dislike Becky because of the few with AJ. So 286 00:33:01,560 --> 00:33:06,280 that part it might have just been easier like oh shit, we got to do something here but 287 00:33:06,280 --> 00:33:11,960 this is kind of what happens when you stack your deck kind of heavy on one side like there's 288 00:33:11,960 --> 00:33:17,080 a lot of baby faces which is why we got a triple threat between LA Knight J who's so in CM Punk 289 00:33:18,840 --> 00:33:24,680 for the you know, you know, number one contendership but you also got Roman floating around. You got 290 00:33:24,680 --> 00:33:30,280 big Jim floating around like you got like five or six strong baby faces at the top of the card on 291 00:33:30,280 --> 00:33:38,920 raw and right now you don't have that heel that everybody hates. So you got to kind of build that 292 00:33:38,920 --> 00:33:43,800 up really quickly. And unless my only thought was ever it's like how awesome would it be if Roman 293 00:33:44,600 --> 00:33:50,520 took over the vision because his character is kind of an asshole still. Yeah. It wouldn't be that 294 00:33:50,520 --> 00:33:55,720 hard to kind of and then he's got history with Aiman and he's around us. Now once again he told 295 00:33:55,720 --> 00:34:00,920 to who so he's we're not seeing him some Christmas so he's probably taking Thanksgiving off but 296 00:34:00,920 --> 00:34:08,760 you need somebody that everybody hates you can't like we all hate Dom you can put Dom but Dom's not 297 00:34:08,760 --> 00:34:16,200 ready to be a leader of Braun and Bronson like you don't have that Kingpin type figure as a heel 298 00:34:16,200 --> 00:34:23,160 it really on either show like a shorter Drew McIntyre with a Drew Mc with them. I don't really know 299 00:34:23,160 --> 00:34:28,200 where you go unless you're just going up nope screw it we're going to roll with Braun being the 300 00:34:28,200 --> 00:34:33,880 top heel on raw and everybody else got to step their game up. I mean you got Gunther coming back 301 00:34:33,880 --> 00:34:38,920 but that doesn't make sense Gunther with those guys. No I think you're kind of I think you're kind of 302 00:34:38,920 --> 00:34:45,400 stuck running with Braun Breaker as your top villain on that show now. Well Braun Breaker was one 303 00:34:45,400 --> 00:34:49,400 that was holding the World of Way championship to close raw there's some stuff post raw that didn't 304 00:34:49,400 --> 00:34:53,880 air obviously where he's holding the title as well. CM Punk is the number one contender and the 305 00:34:53,880 --> 00:34:58,280 all signs are pointing to punk versus Rawlins at the September excuse me November 1st Saturday 306 00:34:58,280 --> 00:35:03,240 and it's made event that was going to be take a place there now with Rawlins on the shelf the World 307 00:35:03,240 --> 00:35:08,520 of Way championship is in flux and I'm with you there is no major heel Rawlins serve that role 308 00:35:08,520 --> 00:35:13,960 and and served it amlical be and I do feel like that when he does return I think it's going to be a 309 00:35:13,960 --> 00:35:19,800 case of the absence makes the heart grow fond or where he gets that reaction and cheer again just 310 00:35:19,800 --> 00:35:25,000 like he did several several years ago now like 10 years ago when he blew out his knee in November 311 00:35:25,000 --> 00:35:32,200 that year and then returned in like June July May June July. Interfer that rains Ambrose match 312 00:35:32,200 --> 00:35:36,120 and the crowd went absolutely nuts for them and they were happy to see him and I think that's the 313 00:35:36,120 --> 00:35:42,040 type of reaction that he gets bar in where Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed are in storyline at this 314 00:35:42,040 --> 00:35:46,520 point you know you're mentioning is there anybody out there that could lead this group I think that 315 00:35:46,520 --> 00:35:53,160 there is a potential huge baby face to heel turn that they could utilize right now and I feel 316 00:35:53,160 --> 00:35:57,800 like it's the only one because out of you said everybody that we played so far you know I'm going to 317 00:35:57,800 --> 00:36:02,760 be reigned could it be Lesnar could it be Drew McIntyre doctor I'm going to make a pitch that you turn 318 00:36:02,760 --> 00:36:10,040 LA night heel and have him lead this group and align with Paul Heyman and I think you work off of 319 00:36:10,040 --> 00:36:15,720 he's never won the big one never won the World of Way championship and he sells a soul to Heyman 320 00:36:15,720 --> 00:36:21,560 I think that could be a direction that could be played here but I think the most likely one is 321 00:36:21,560 --> 00:36:28,280 that they run with Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed as a adjacent leaders in this group for now 322 00:36:28,280 --> 00:36:34,520 there is one other option and it's kind of out in left field but there is 323 00:36:34,520 --> 00:36:41,160 what if you did a double turn and you end up making punk and AJ both heels and punk takes over 324 00:36:41,160 --> 00:36:46,920 the vision and then when Seth returns Seth and Becky are the baby faces I don't think the fans 325 00:36:46,920 --> 00:36:51,160 want to see that yet because especially with AJ's lead just be back in the last six weeks 326 00:36:51,160 --> 00:36:56,520 yeah I mean it's a little early for AJ but I mean I mean right now with punk being you know and they 327 00:36:56,520 --> 00:37:01,400 mention our rock punk's trying to get back to being a world champion like that's his obsession that's 328 00:37:01,400 --> 00:37:08,120 all he can think about and and maybe it's punk making the deal with the devil and you know he kind of 329 00:37:08,120 --> 00:37:17,240 has to use AJ to cement his heel run by kind of like my true love is the world championship and not you 330 00:37:17,880 --> 00:37:22,760 well here's the thing that Rawlins Rawlins injury is a house of cards right I mean look at how many 331 00:37:22,760 --> 00:37:27,400 storylines it affects I mean you mentioned Becky Lynch right if Becky when Becky Lynch returns 332 00:37:27,400 --> 00:37:31,960 to television she what is she gonna address she has to address the vision like what'd you do to 333 00:37:31,960 --> 00:37:38,440 my husband and then is she unless she goes I love what you did I'm getting a divorce like she 334 00:37:38,440 --> 00:37:43,800 becomes a baby face at that point theoretically depending on what the direction of Bronson Reed 335 00:37:43,800 --> 00:37:49,240 and Braun Breaker is like this Monday's edition of Raw like that's now that affects her it affects 336 00:37:49,240 --> 00:37:54,840 this is also affected you point out CM Punk LA night J. U. so everything for war games Cody Roads 337 00:37:54,840 --> 00:38:03,080 Roman Reigns like this is affecting a lot of people Brock Lesnar it let like Seth Rollins was like 338 00:38:03,080 --> 00:38:10,680 the main vein of WWE and a lot of things were blown up and it'll be interesting because they've had 339 00:38:10,680 --> 00:38:14,680 a very long flight from Australia they've had they will have a week to really think about this in 340 00:38:14,680 --> 00:38:19,240 the direction they they want to go and we will see this upcoming Monday's edition of Raw what is 341 00:38:19,240 --> 00:38:24,120 that direction and why or we'll see a play out here in the coming weeks which I think is the more 342 00:38:24,120 --> 00:38:28,440 likely scenario last thing I want to talk about here Dr. Dreary I look two things real quick 343 00:38:28,440 --> 00:38:32,200 we talked about it one Rawlins we thought was injured on Saturday nights main event back in 344 00:38:32,200 --> 00:38:39,480 Saturday but it was all about Arruz is Rawlins injury prone one because when I saw that move taking 345 00:38:39,480 --> 00:38:44,200 place during the live show of Crown Jewel I was like this is a really bad idea like Cody's trying 346 00:38:44,200 --> 00:38:49,720 to keep himself up this does not look good why would you do a head butt shoulder whatever you did 347 00:38:49,720 --> 00:38:55,240 there because now Rawlins is hurt is the injury prone and then where does this rank with the most 348 00:38:55,240 --> 00:39:03,720 shocking endings to a WWE show we've ever seen I mean okay I'll also say one I don't you know 349 00:39:03,720 --> 00:39:09,720 if it's top 10 it's it's pretty shocking for recent television but you go back to a lot of 350 00:39:09,720 --> 00:39:15,000 that attitude air of stuff that you and I watched there was a lot of crazy stuff to end Raw through the 351 00:39:15,000 --> 00:39:24,680 attitude air and coming up so maybe 12 maybe top 15 but I mean I don't I don't know if I can put it 352 00:39:24,680 --> 00:39:31,800 yet it might also depend on how this launches brawn breaker and broncendry like if they turn into blood 353 00:39:31,800 --> 00:39:38,520 like I said if they turn into like a mid card faction like the MFTs are on Smackdown then it's not 354 00:39:38,520 --> 00:39:43,640 gonna stay up but if this is what kind of sets those guys up and these guys turn into the modern day 355 00:39:43,640 --> 00:39:50,360 version of Triple H and and Stone Cold where one guy's got the world title one guy's got the you 356 00:39:50,360 --> 00:39:55,560 know inner the inner Connell title and then they both get the tag team titles and they hold all the 357 00:39:55,560 --> 00:40:02,440 gold hey it's a that that's gonna jump it up a little bit and I'm gonna also try not to need jerk it 358 00:40:02,440 --> 00:40:06,440 as well and just go yeah this is oh my god it was crazy and then I look at the history of braw and I'm like 359 00:40:06,440 --> 00:40:15,000 yeah it's it's not quite there yet and as far as Seth being injury prompt I think sets issues 360 00:40:15,000 --> 00:40:23,080 look Seth's like 36 37 he still wants to wrestle like he's 24 25 and your body doesn't land the 361 00:40:23,080 --> 00:40:29,080 same way and not to mention he took that if they took that top rope crossroads it's like do like if 362 00:40:29,080 --> 00:40:33,880 your shoulders not feeling it don't take that move because I don't think that move helps out any 363 00:40:33,880 --> 00:40:41,000 kind of shoulder injury that you feel in your body at that point so it's just like I don't know like 364 00:40:41,000 --> 00:40:47,800 I saw the thing their day it was a Stevie Richards podcast and he was asking like Terry Taylor 365 00:40:48,840 --> 00:40:53,960 when do you know you're a good worker and Terry Taylor said unfortunately it's not until you get hurt 366 00:40:53,960 --> 00:41:00,200 that you learn how to be a good worker because you learn that you got to take care of yourself because 367 00:41:00,200 --> 00:41:05,720 back in the old days if you were off TV you weren't making any money different time now with guaranteed 368 00:41:05,720 --> 00:41:12,440 contracts but you know one good argue if you can only make it through six months of a year or you 369 00:41:12,440 --> 00:41:17,560 make it through a year and a half straight but then you're out for eight months like it's hard to 370 00:41:17,560 --> 00:41:24,360 be consistently on that workhorse mentality if you are getting banged up and hurt a lot so 371 00:41:24,360 --> 00:41:31,160 maybe it's time for Seth to kind of reevaluate how he wrestles a match and go okay maybe that's not 372 00:41:31,160 --> 00:41:37,160 the smartest risk to take can I do something else and still get the same crowd reaction from it a 373 00:41:37,160 --> 00:41:42,200 little bit of Brian Danielson Brian yes is that he you know he had a change up how he wrestled after 374 00:41:42,200 --> 00:41:46,520 all the concussions a lot of guys said the same thing like they get to a certain point they realize 375 00:41:46,520 --> 00:41:52,920 hey my body can't handle the same stuff I was doing at 26 when I'm approaching 40 and they got 376 00:41:52,920 --> 00:41:58,840 changed styles a punk changes style of you know a lot of these you know 220 pound 240 pound guys 377 00:41:58,840 --> 00:42:03,720 want to wrestle like they're indestructible and then all of a sudden their body starts giving out 378 00:42:03,720 --> 00:42:11,480 all the time you got to reevaluate yeah it sucks not having them on television and yeah it's a huge 379 00:42:11,480 --> 00:42:18,600 huge but huge bummer that wrongs us out this vision storyline is is you know that we were witnessing 380 00:42:18,600 --> 00:42:23,800 this kind of cave din we'll see how WWE creative saves it I'm sure they'll do a good job and then 381 00:42:23,800 --> 00:42:29,320 regards to like most shocking endings I would say in this current generation of being able to 382 00:42:29,320 --> 00:42:34,360 read the dirt sheets have an idea where things were going predict professional wrestling podcast 383 00:42:34,360 --> 00:42:39,880 contact creation out there I would say this is the most shocking you know recent raw endings with 384 00:42:39,880 --> 00:42:43,880 like the shield breaking up we kind of thought that that was going to be happening we saw nothing 385 00:42:43,880 --> 00:42:47,880 out there right now then let us to believe that this was going to be the direction of the vision so 386 00:42:47,880 --> 00:42:52,440 I think it's definitely one of the most shocking raw endings in the current generation of 387 00:42:52,440 --> 00:42:57,720 climate of world or center attainment where nowadays the creative is at your fingertips and you have 388 00:42:57,720 --> 00:43:03,160 an idea of where things are going in the direction so I think it's up there huge bummer overall but 389 00:43:03,160 --> 00:43:08,200 we will see how WWE salvages the vision storyline and we'll be talking about that all on next week's 390 00:43:08,200 --> 00:43:14,520 edition of SRTU. Dr. Trey brought in the scope outside of WWE into the rest of the world of professional 391 00:43:14,520 --> 00:43:18,360 wrestling there were huge title changes this week that could change the direction now of two wrestling 392 00:43:18,360 --> 00:43:23,720 companies one we'll start with new Japan pro wrestling is Kenozgate Takeshii won the IWGP World 393 00:43:23,720 --> 00:43:29,080 of the way championship and then TNA wrestling as Mike Santana won the TNA World Championship 394 00:43:29,080 --> 00:43:33,400 what your thoughts on these title changes and how much of an impact could these two title changes 395 00:43:33,400 --> 00:43:37,560 have on the direction of both of those companies. I mean the Mike's I'll start the TNA one the 396 00:43:37,560 --> 00:43:44,120 Mike's I and TNA one made a lot of sense because eventually you know the the NXT guys can't help 397 00:43:44,120 --> 00:43:48,120 and I also think that Tricks gonna get moved up to the main roster here in the next few months as 398 00:43:48,120 --> 00:43:52,200 well especially with Brother Walgreens coming up in January as usually when a lot of guys make 399 00:43:52,200 --> 00:44:00,120 the jump up so hey let's make the switch now baby face gets the big triumph and victory and it's 400 00:44:00,120 --> 00:44:05,560 great for Mike's I and this is a guy that basically bet on himself broke up a highly successful tag team 401 00:44:05,560 --> 00:44:12,040 long time tag team bet on himself make you know thought he could do it and prove people right and 402 00:44:12,040 --> 00:44:19,240 and to me he's this generation is gonna be a version of Eddie Kingston like he's just the hard 403 00:44:19,240 --> 00:44:25,880 hitting tough talking Puerto Rican guys just kicks ass that's a great guy to have on your roster either 404 00:44:25,880 --> 00:44:32,200 the top of the car or the bottom where like he's just a great guy to have um the Kenozgate Takeshii 405 00:44:32,200 --> 00:44:40,440 one is really surprising to me because he doesn't have a new Japan contract he's an AEW guy so kind of 406 00:44:40,440 --> 00:44:46,520 surprising and maybe they're taking a page out of the NXT TNA playbook and saying hey we're gonna 407 00:44:46,520 --> 00:44:51,960 have more of our guys crossing over to help prop up new Japan while they're in a state of flux because 408 00:44:51,960 --> 00:44:57,000 we've talking about like their roster has been really really depleted over the past few years and 409 00:44:57,000 --> 00:45:02,760 they don't really have those bankable stars like they had four or five years ago um but it was just 410 00:45:02,760 --> 00:45:09,560 that was really surprising to me that they made that move because that's not something you typically see 411 00:45:09,560 --> 00:45:17,000 like usually new Japan's very conscientious of their roster and who their champions are and I mean 412 00:45:17,000 --> 00:45:23,480 even though Takeshii kind of came up in that company he doesn't work there it's you know he's got a 413 00:45:23,480 --> 00:45:28,200 AEW contract so maybe it's their move to kind of get hey don't forget about us because you're going to 414 00:45:28,200 --> 00:45:35,800 see Takeshii with the with the IWGP championship on you know on AEW television so maybe it's their way 415 00:45:35,800 --> 00:45:41,000 of kind of getting that branding back out there seeing the success that TNA has had and maybe that's 416 00:45:41,000 --> 00:45:46,360 the move but it really did shock the hell of me when I saw that he had captured the title. 417 00:45:46,360 --> 00:45:51,720 So Takeshii actually has three contracts Dr. Trey so he has AW he is signed by new Japan and he's also 418 00:45:51,720 --> 00:45:58,760 signed by DDT um but I think he's more looked at as an AW guy yeah I think that's the point that 419 00:45:58,760 --> 00:46:05,240 that you're making there is is this is like an AW guy winning the IWGP and that this could benefit 420 00:46:05,240 --> 00:46:10,440 both companies I also think based off of something that we've talked about on the show in recent months 421 00:46:10,440 --> 00:46:15,160 that this could be looked at by a lot of people as once again new Japan being you know dog walked by 422 00:46:15,160 --> 00:46:19,960 AEW I wanted to look at it this way I think Takeshii is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world 423 00:46:20,760 --> 00:46:25,640 but I do believe that that is probably something some people are talking about but I think both 424 00:46:25,640 --> 00:46:31,960 title changes can have a major impact on both companies I I love Mike Santana I love Kenosuke Takeshii 425 00:46:31,960 --> 00:46:36,280 I think the Takeshii title change has the biggest impact out of the two though I think that this 426 00:46:36,280 --> 00:46:41,080 could really help rejuvenate in japan with an American audience by the Takeshii goal the title and 427 00:46:41,080 --> 00:46:44,920 maybe even winning the tag team titles which we'll talk about WrestleTream here in a little bit with 428 00:46:46,120 --> 00:46:51,800 with Kusuchko Okaada following the Saturday's WrestleTream so major title changes this week as TNA and 429 00:46:51,800 --> 00:46:57,880 New Japan have new flag bearers for both companies uh Dr. Trey before we get AW WrestleTream and look 430 00:46:57,880 --> 00:47:03,640 at the show uh I do want to point out that there is a weird little uh situation going on with 431 00:47:03,640 --> 00:47:11,720 Andrade in AW so uh he debuted after leaving WWE about two three weeks ago attacked Kenny Omega 432 00:47:11,720 --> 00:47:16,840 and then disappeared off television I think he made one more appearance on collision and that was it 433 00:47:16,840 --> 00:47:21,640 haven't seen him since no mention of him and it was like a very hush-hush situation in what's going on 434 00:47:21,640 --> 00:47:28,680 well uh according the reports out there Brian Alvarez is reporting that the new TKO contracts have 435 00:47:28,680 --> 00:47:34,920 a clause where if you are fired for cause or breach which would be the case with Adrade there is a 436 00:47:34,920 --> 00:47:41,160 one year non-compete the older contracts had this but it's standard now this is the hold-up 437 00:47:41,160 --> 00:47:46,840 involving Andrade and why he hasn't been on AW television since his return so he may have a 438 00:47:46,840 --> 00:47:53,160 non-compete for one full year which is just absurd and wrong and and stupid uh but there are people 439 00:47:53,160 --> 00:47:58,280 in WWE that thought he had no 90 day compete non-compete people in AEW that clearly thought he did not 440 00:47:58,280 --> 00:48:04,200 have a non-compete uh there's some sort of legal situation going on here Dr. Trey this is very 441 00:48:04,200 --> 00:48:09,160 very money uh I don't want I don't like the one year non-compete I think that's wrong for Andrade 442 00:48:09,160 --> 00:48:15,400 not to be able to you know do what he did and and and you know make a living unless he's being paid 443 00:48:15,400 --> 00:48:21,640 this entire time uh and then two uh this is just another reason why AW shouldn't have signed him in my 444 00:48:21,640 --> 00:48:27,960 opinion if he had issues with violating the wellness policy in WWE why would you bring him back unless 445 00:48:27,960 --> 00:48:32,840 they know something that we don't know so Dr. Trey your thoughts you on this entire weird situation 446 00:48:32,840 --> 00:48:41,800 with Andrade and AW yeah I'm you know for most of us that are working in middle management up 447 00:48:41,800 --> 00:48:47,080 companies love that those end the of those no compete clauses in there and I've always hated them 448 00:48:47,080 --> 00:48:53,000 because I'm like look if you fire me apparently you don't think I'm an asset to your company so 449 00:48:53,000 --> 00:49:00,440 why should that preclude me from going and applying my craft elsewhere um you know I can see it if I 450 00:49:00,440 --> 00:49:07,080 up and quit and I go somewhere you you raise a fuss yes that makes sense but you know they try to pass 451 00:49:07,080 --> 00:49:14,520 they try to outlaw these like a year ago and then it got struck down like it passed it basically 452 00:49:14,520 --> 00:49:19,640 like it freed up the no compete clauses before I think it was like two or three weeks and then 453 00:49:19,640 --> 00:49:24,120 somebody went back in there's an injunction so all that stuff still up in the court actually I think 454 00:49:24,120 --> 00:49:29,960 it's heading towards a supreme court uh first the year to find out that's legal or not but once again 455 00:49:29,960 --> 00:49:36,600 like don't take the guys word for it hey uh so we you know we understand you got released by WWE 456 00:49:36,600 --> 00:49:42,120 do you have a no compete clause no because of the what I got released for they I'm good to go 457 00:49:42,120 --> 00:49:49,080 and they signed the guy and it's like wait now legal jumps in um I do think a year is unreasonable 458 00:49:49,080 --> 00:49:54,440 especially considering that that takes this you know the guy can't make a living for a full year 459 00:49:54,440 --> 00:50:00,760 that's kind of ridiculous but then again you signed the deal you had your representation look at it 460 00:50:00,760 --> 00:50:07,720 so it kind of falls on Andrade and AEW for not reading the fine print like both people have lawyers 461 00:50:07,720 --> 00:50:12,600 and representation they should have looked this over before they made that that call not to mention 462 00:50:12,600 --> 00:50:17,960 Andrade I mean hell if you got representation you can negotiate the release like if you want out of 463 00:50:17,960 --> 00:50:25,160 WWE and you're ready to go and you're violating policy after policy negotiate it you're like hey 464 00:50:25,160 --> 00:50:30,280 I'll take it you know just don't pay me my last you know my last two paychecks and let me out a little 465 00:50:30,280 --> 00:50:36,920 bit earlier so I can go work somewhere else because this hasn't worked out so yeah I kind of fault AEW 466 00:50:36,920 --> 00:50:41,320 for not having their representation look over the contract because obviously Andrade's people 467 00:50:41,320 --> 00:50:48,840 had a copy of it and then it's on Andrade for basically like not just burning the bridge I mean he 468 00:50:48,840 --> 00:50:56,600 TNT that bridge between him and WWE so this might be the biggest mess since Alberto Del Rio's type 469 00:50:56,600 --> 00:51:01,960 stuff yeah this is a weird one right I mean one year on the sidelines like that just doesn't seem 470 00:51:01,960 --> 00:51:08,600 right and hopefully won't stop out yeah NCAA has that with coaches when they violate certain policies 471 00:51:08,600 --> 00:51:16,360 they get the show cause and they can't coach again for X amount of years and I think a lot of these 472 00:51:16,360 --> 00:51:20,600 companies are kind of doing that it's hey they're way to get out of paying guarantees where if you're 473 00:51:20,600 --> 00:51:26,520 violating company policy or wellness programs or things like that they can get out of paying you 474 00:51:26,520 --> 00:51:33,160 but it's also kind of like hey there's also guys will purposely violate stuff just to get out of 475 00:51:33,160 --> 00:51:38,360 working somewhere and that's their back in hook like fine if you want to blow up this contract 476 00:51:38,360 --> 00:51:44,200 and get out cool you're out we ain't got to pay you but you can't go work anywhere else because you 477 00:51:44,200 --> 00:51:50,200 purposely did this it is kind of like you know corporations backhand of ways of punishing the people 478 00:51:50,200 --> 00:51:57,000 that don't fulfill their end of the contract yeah so it's something to keep an eye on um listen 479 00:51:57,000 --> 00:52:05,080 not a fan of the entire situation here but hopefully if Andrade has something going on 480 00:52:05,080 --> 00:52:10,520 his personal life that he takes his time to rehabilitate himself in some sort of way and whatever 481 00:52:10,520 --> 00:52:16,200 led to him being fired by wwe and has that opportunity if it's nothing which I don't think it is 482 00:52:16,200 --> 00:52:21,560 then so be it and hopefully as resolves itself where I can just like go back to work at some 483 00:52:21,560 --> 00:52:27,560 point here because very very very weird story so that is the latest where in the world is Andrade 484 00:52:27,560 --> 00:52:34,200 in a w because he has just suddenly disappeared and then lastly our doctorate a w russle dream 485 00:52:34,200 --> 00:52:38,680 will be taking place this Saturday for the chavette serena in saint louis miserie we have a lot of 486 00:52:38,680 --> 00:52:43,080 interesting matches here you've got jaymy hater versus tecla hurts end of kid versus the demand in 487 00:52:43,080 --> 00:52:47,480 at shrios tornado match a five hundred thousand dollar tag team match between the young bucks and the 488 00:52:47,480 --> 00:52:52,840 Jurassic Express uh an i quit match between Darby Allen and john moxie a w t and t championship 489 00:52:52,840 --> 00:52:58,840 max between Kyle flutcher mart brisco a w rull tag team title match as brodino takes on okada and 490 00:52:58,840 --> 00:53:03,160 tekeshka stately under defends the women's world championship against Tony storm and hangman on 491 00:53:03,160 --> 00:53:08,680 page defends the a w rull championship gets him on a joe dot trade this to me this entire show is just 492 00:53:08,680 --> 00:53:13,640 about darby moxley's i quit match they had a segment on this past Wednesday edition of dynamite that 493 00:53:13,640 --> 00:53:17,560 was really really good that is the match to the savour out to me i think it's the main event match 494 00:53:17,560 --> 00:53:22,760 and i'm really really interested into what type of violence both these guys bring during the 495 00:53:22,760 --> 00:53:30,360 pay-per-view on saturday yeah not to mention by most accounts this was supposed to be the end of the 496 00:53:30,360 --> 00:53:36,040 deathwriter angle was darby a moxley and it was supposed to remember it's supposed to be for the a w 497 00:53:36,040 --> 00:53:43,080 title until darby got hit by a bus to then try to climb a mountain uh the whole deck got kind of 498 00:53:43,080 --> 00:53:47,640 shuffled and they went they they finally pivoted with the hangman or out uh but yeah like this is 499 00:53:47,640 --> 00:53:53,560 gonna be really interesting where this goes because darby hasn't fared well with moxie matches and 500 00:53:53,560 --> 00:54:01,320 darby hasn't fared well in gimmick matches and i just don't know how you have darby say i quit and 501 00:54:01,320 --> 00:54:05,560 keep darby at the top of the car i mean once again i still i go back to losing a coffin match to 502 00:54:05,560 --> 00:54:13,480 jack perry so like to me like darby has to win this darby has to get moxley to say i quit darby has to 503 00:54:13,480 --> 00:54:19,400 basically go nuts and bring and not to mention run through some of the deathwriters as well i mean 504 00:54:19,400 --> 00:54:24,840 you can't have paragon and everybody else kind of coming out to make it safe uh to make it whole but 505 00:54:24,840 --> 00:54:30,040 then again you might to me like darby has to win this match everything else does kind of feel like 506 00:54:30,040 --> 00:54:36,040 filler although the okaida tekesta versus brodito thing is really interesting because you could have 507 00:54:36,040 --> 00:54:43,480 okaida and tekesta having multiple titles draped in gold which would be really good for those guys 508 00:54:43,480 --> 00:54:50,520 and the don calis family so i'm interested that's the route they go um and then eventually you get 509 00:54:50,520 --> 00:54:55,560 okaida or to you know probably like either okaida tekesta breaking away from the calis family and then 510 00:54:55,560 --> 00:55:01,480 you get the okaida tekesta match so i'm amissers in that one but everything else 511 00:55:01,480 --> 00:55:06,360 kind of i mean stoutlander tony is going to be interesting to see if they put the belt right back 512 00:55:06,360 --> 00:55:13,080 on tony on tony storm but it you're right it's really darby and moxley and then a couple of 513 00:55:13,080 --> 00:55:18,680 other interesting matchups and then the rest just kind of feels like filler for me like i hate by the way 514 00:55:18,680 --> 00:55:25,800 this is a personal thing i hate money matches like oh the winner gets 30 thousand dollars on the water 515 00:55:25,800 --> 00:55:31,000 nope tony con is not get like for one if i'm any other wrestler on the roster and tony cons 516 00:55:31,000 --> 00:55:37,000 actually going to pay the winner of a predetermined match in extra five hundred thousand dollars 517 00:55:37,000 --> 00:55:44,280 i'm pissed like where's my half million dollar check for being in a in a in a matchup like this 518 00:55:44,280 --> 00:55:46,920 maybe it's extra money though for montraide's contract 519 00:55:46,920 --> 00:55:55,560 maybe maybe but then it's like once again dude uh why is it only two teams why why why isn't 520 00:55:55,560 --> 00:56:00,440 the acclaimed in there max cast or anything but they wouldn't pack up again but for five hundred 521 00:56:00,440 --> 00:56:03,400 thousand dollars i bet they're scissoring like crazy on the way down in the ring 522 00:56:05,080 --> 00:56:09,640 i'm just saying it yes this is like a very like nineteen ninety three gimmicky thing and they do it a 523 00:56:09,640 --> 00:56:14,040 lot i hate that and i hate the uh which it it does make sense for the stuff that they're doing the 524 00:56:14,040 --> 00:56:19,160 young bucks but i do find it very old school gimmicky not in a good way and i also hate like the 525 00:56:19,160 --> 00:56:23,800 all-star matches that they love doing yeah i mean the only thing that would make that match 526 00:56:23,800 --> 00:56:30,280 worth a while is a bishop bishop to wire shirt bishop dire shows up as broke core of you broke 527 00:56:30,280 --> 00:56:37,080 bro dire okay yeah bro bro homeless dire and he's out there like pan handling poor hey i know you 528 00:56:37,080 --> 00:56:41,560 just one five hundred thousand dollars can you give a brother three fifty you know something like that 529 00:56:41,560 --> 00:56:47,240 this i mean it's a very light card outside of darby and moxay i'm looking forward to brodino and 530 00:56:47,240 --> 00:56:51,880 okada tecashka do you feel like stat blender and tony stormers another match as well it is really 531 00:56:51,880 --> 00:56:58,040 really good but i eat it's a light card when you look at hangman and samoa jow as the world title match 532 00:56:58,040 --> 00:57:03,720 with like very little build and reasing other than some oh jow got pister in the trio match and said 533 00:57:03,720 --> 00:57:08,120 you never beat me and if you want to be world champion champion if it wasn't for us prior to that 534 00:57:08,120 --> 00:57:12,760 they were all good and they were all kosher this to me just feels like a placeholder for hopefully 535 00:57:12,760 --> 00:57:18,120 something big for hangman page i mean mjf is gone a lot of big names are gone and there's not a lot 536 00:57:18,120 --> 00:57:24,840 of solid contenders i don't think we want to see moxley in page again uh maybe okada and addon 537 00:57:24,840 --> 00:57:29,480 pages in the direction they could go i feel like and i only feel this way because of the meaty call 538 00:57:29,480 --> 00:57:34,440 quotes that i read today from rassal dream doctor trey i feel like swarfs frecklin is on his way back 539 00:57:34,440 --> 00:57:40,840 and i want to be shocked if we go into a swerve and hangman page uh match at full gear and newwork 540 00:57:40,840 --> 00:57:46,280 and that that one is based more on respect than the animasi that was between the two guys before 541 00:57:46,280 --> 00:57:51,320 and i feel like this is just a placeholder which is extremely sad to say because samoa jow is no 542 00:57:51,320 --> 00:57:56,760 freaking placeholder do you think tonic calm was like backstage and was like okay guys uh 543 00:57:56,760 --> 00:58:02,760 who wants a world title match that they can't win and jose like i'll do it like i'll put the kid over 544 00:58:02,760 --> 00:58:08,120 yeah like i'll do it for you but then again like here's in this is the issue i have with adm 545 00:58:08,120 --> 00:58:14,920 times if you do this match now that's baby face versus baby face then again you come back and you 546 00:58:14,920 --> 00:58:22,120 do hangman and swerve even if it's mutual respect it's baby face versus baby face like how are you 547 00:58:22,120 --> 00:58:28,200 building that star that the crowd just goes that's my god i agree i agree you're splitting your 548 00:58:28,200 --> 00:58:33,880 audience multiple times and then that's when the run the world title run starts to feel flat 549 00:58:33,880 --> 00:58:39,480 and then you pivot because the audience feels flat but the audience feels flat because of how you 550 00:58:39,480 --> 00:58:43,480 booked the world title run well that's what people are saying right now about hangman in general i'm a 551 00:58:43,480 --> 00:58:49,320 huge hangman fan i think he's awesome i think he's great um i don't think poor creative should be his 552 00:58:49,320 --> 00:58:55,000 fault uh we i'm gonna mention it this wasn't a topic that certainly could have been but i don't 553 00:58:55,000 --> 00:59:00,360 know if you saw when a w and and nxt went head to head last week the showdown first title Tuesday i 554 00:59:00,360 --> 00:59:06,440 think showdown was like over 600 thousand viewers dynamite title Tuesday and it ran for a two and 555 00:59:06,440 --> 00:59:13,080 a half hours was like 330 thousand viewers um the eels and ratings changed their viewership on how 556 00:59:13,080 --> 00:59:21,000 they're doing it i mean that is half of the audience was half of nxt's audience tuned into or half of 557 00:59:21,000 --> 00:59:27,480 who tuned into nxt tuned into a w dynamite if that's the case like that that would have been a major 558 00:59:27,480 --> 00:59:33,560 story four years ago if you and i covered that like if nxt was at 300 thousand and a w's at 600 thousand 559 00:59:33,560 --> 00:59:37,960 we would have been like holy shit what is going on but just because of that it's been going on it 560 00:59:37,960 --> 00:59:45,240 it kind of gets lost in the shuffle and also maybe not too surprising all in all um but yeah this is 561 00:59:45,240 --> 00:59:49,560 i think it's kind of a reflection again here we are like i thought last year September of 562 00:59:49,560 --> 00:59:55,560 December September October November parts of December to cotton under classic really saved it 563 00:59:55,560 --> 00:59:59,480 a w goes in the swoon and i feel like they're going in the swoon again and it makes you wonder is Tony 564 00:59:59,480 --> 01:00:03,720 Khan being pulled in so many different directions and i'll just throw it out there i mean the jacks 565 01:00:03,720 --> 01:00:08,920 of the jackwars are playing right now is he doing stuff with the jaguars that's not allowed in focus on 566 01:00:08,920 --> 01:00:14,040 a w fully because i do feel like a w has been really really good lately but you look at this card 567 01:00:14,040 --> 01:00:22,600 and it's like i wouldn't pay 3999 i would not pay 3999 an episode here to watch this additionally 568 01:00:22,600 --> 01:00:28,680 on top of my hbo max package that i'm playing for this is not a 3999 event to me dr. Dre 569 01:00:29,480 --> 01:00:33,880 yeah i mean you you call it a wrestle dream but like this is like a fever dream like really like 570 01:00:33,880 --> 01:00:38,760 we're talking like there's not a lot in this car that stands out you're missing most of your top 571 01:00:38,760 --> 01:00:44,200 heels like yeah like kind of fletch is on the show but now i mean cauliflower whiff from wrestling 572 01:00:44,200 --> 01:00:48,680 from the world title to defending the t and t taligan's mark brisco we all love mark brisco 573 01:00:48,680 --> 01:00:55,000 but this match is going to be second on the card third on the card it's not where you're trying 574 01:00:55,000 --> 01:00:59,400 you were just trying to position cauliflower as a top guy and now you have them in the middle of 575 01:00:59,400 --> 01:01:07,080 the card again like where are like out who are the he seem like the heels that you're building up we 576 01:01:07,080 --> 01:01:14,120 love like if the same situation which i'm out of raw it just takes one injury to completely shuffle 577 01:01:14,120 --> 01:01:20,280 raw's deck a w mjfs out right now filming a movie somewhere and the entire card feels like 578 01:01:20,280 --> 01:01:25,880 lusher because you don't have outside of the deathwriters and the deathwriters almost have go away 579 01:01:25,880 --> 01:01:33,320 heat like you don't have that top heel ready to go in a situation like this and you're gonna have to go 580 01:01:33,320 --> 01:01:40,440 back to back baby face baby face world title matches which does not increase viewership 581 01:01:40,440 --> 01:01:46,760 interesting times right now um just something to think about are they going into another swoon 582 01:01:46,760 --> 01:01:52,680 right now to close out 2025 because this this show i'm sure the all of great matches just the build 583 01:01:52,680 --> 01:01:57,560 and overall umph behind it is is lacking it's comparable to what eight of he's been doing lately 584 01:01:57,560 --> 01:02:03,480 but we figured this would catch up to them when they didn't have osprey and edge or Adam Copeland 585 01:02:03,480 --> 01:02:09,800 and uh swerve on television as well that there's gonna be some rough waters if unless they could 586 01:02:09,800 --> 01:02:16,600 steer their way through it so we will see uh as a w Russell dream uh takes place this saturday in 587
