Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, lep Progs. Before tonight's episode gets underway, I must
- 0:03Speaker 1: read the following disclaimer. As this is season four, episode twenty,
- 0:07Speaker 1: we'll be leaping into the fandom of marijuana because numbers
- 0:12Speaker 1: are funny. We forgot to do the four play fandom
- 0:15Speaker 1: for episode sixty nine, which left us high and dry,
- 0:17Speaker 1: and we won't be caught short again. So this means
- 0:20Speaker 1: we'll be discussing, vibing with, and indeed consuming what the
- 0:24Speaker 1: DEA considers to be a Schedule one drug marijuana, cannabis,
- 0:30Speaker 1: Satan's topiari clippings, Mommy's special flowers, or Willie Nelson's bush.
- 0:37Speaker 1: So listener discretion is advised. And I have to say
- 0:41Speaker 1: that consuming marijuana isn't big or clever and should only
- 0:44Speaker 1: be done by those over the age of twenty one
- 0:47Speaker 1: in places it's legal to do so, or by anyone
- 0:50Speaker 1: who sort of needs to take the edge off a bit.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Stay safe and with that, Hello, and welcome to Gates Leapers,
- 1:15Speaker 1: the pop culture game show that shines a spotlight onto
- 1:18Speaker 1: everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games master and fan of
- 1:22Speaker 1: Richard Nixon's domestic policy. Matt Watson, that's the hardest one.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I've ever had to say, I'm already so high, so
- 1:33Speaker 1: marving an out of body experience just saying that. But
- 1:38Speaker 1: a game's master needs games, and you can already hear
- 1:41Speaker 1: our players, so please welcome first. She is our resident
- 1:44Speaker 1: team captain, a podcaster who works in STEMP, which today
- 1:48Speaker 1: stands for stoned toasted an extremely mellow. It's Rodre Stephenson.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Hi, that's we.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Stem also stands for STEMS. There you go, just like weed,
- 2:05Speaker 2: very good little finger waggle as well.
- 2:09Speaker 1: For the mums and dads at home.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Absolutely, And he's one of our executive producers. He's a
- 2:14Speaker 1: gamer and a really good friend and we once trauma
- 2:17Speaker 1: bonded by experiencing ego death during the main events of
- 2:20Speaker 1: WrestleMania thirty four. It's Adam Wood.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I'm not kidding you.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I hadn't thought of that until fifteen seconds before you
- 2:32Speaker 5: said it, and I was like, oh fuck, he's gonna
- 2:34Speaker 5: mention that.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's just it's too funny of a fact that the
- 2:40Speaker 1: ego death was experienced while WrestleMania thirty four, of all
- 2:44Speaker 1: main events was happening.
- 2:46Speaker 6: I remember, I remember at one point crawling out in
- 2:50Speaker 6: pits of hell and peeking my head out of the
- 2:53Speaker 6: bathroom to see I believe Shinski Nakamur turning on aj
- 2:59Speaker 6: styles or the other way around or something like that.
- 3:02Speaker 5: And I've gotta I gotta go back to Hell.
- 3:05Speaker 4: I guess I don't know.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I can't be a part of this.
- 3:10Speaker 1: That's that's preferable than what is going on here. Oh
- 3:14Speaker 1: my goodness. Yeah, welcome to the podcast. Audra as him,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'm going to ask up top, are you fans of weed?
- 3:20Speaker 1: But Adam is currently smoking a joint and Audra just
- 3:24Speaker 1: popped a cheeky edible in her mouth just before we started.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So I did. It was raspberry flavor and it was delicious.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Lovely stuff. So you're both you're both fans of weed.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Mm hmm, big thing.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. As also as a stem girly. I love
- 3:39Speaker 2: the scientific elements of it. I love the practical elements
- 3:42Speaker 2: of it. Hell yeah, hell yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I love that.
- 3:46Speaker 4: I like how it gets me nice and stoned.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, the duality of man.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I like it because it fox me up.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So many good reasons. There's so many good reasons. Look, okay,
- 4:06Speaker 1: so when we think about wheat, we think about wheat culture.
- 4:08Speaker 1: This questions to both of you are there Are there
- 4:10Speaker 1: any parts of wheat culture on a stereotypical level that
- 4:13Speaker 1: you're super into.
- 4:15Speaker 2: On a stereo stereotypical level.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we're talking like the genres of music, the types
- 4:21Speaker 1: of films.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I was about to say, I'm a I'm a
- 4:24Speaker 5: grateful dad boy for sure.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Oh, there we go. That's classic.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, nice and classic got into them around the
- 4:32Speaker 4: time I.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Go I started TOPK to we Yeah, because Jerry Garcias
- 4:37Speaker 5: started out in a bluegrass band. You don't know that,
- 4:42Speaker 5: so I kind of came from the country tradition, uh
- 4:46Speaker 5: and and and got into some of their old stuff.
- 4:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 5: It's about as stereotypical, I think as you can get
- 4:53Speaker 5: when it comes to there.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's the American weed experience. It's the origins of.
- 5:01Speaker 5: It and other things and other things.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But for legal reasons, we will only talk about marijuana
- 5:09Speaker 1: on this episode.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And as for me, I think Shaggy from Scooby Doo
- 5:14Speaker 2: is awesome.
- 5:19Speaker 1: That says all we need to know. Okay, well, Audra Adam,
- 5:23Speaker 1: we're all high, but we're here to play some games,
- 5:29Speaker 1: so you'll need some opponents, a dream team, if you will.
- 5:33Speaker 1: First he's a veteran and a podcaster, which makes him
- 5:36Speaker 1: a veteran podcaster. And it's not that I fully associate
- 5:40Speaker 1: this man with late night smoking sashes, but his alias
- 5:43Speaker 1: is Midnight Smoke. It's Midnight Smoke aka Stevie from Body,
- 5:49Speaker 1: How you doing, Hello Stevie. And he's a podcaster, gamer,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and storyteller. And it's not that I fully associate this
- 5:58Speaker 1: man with the eighth version of Hannah barbera character Oki Doki,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but his is Okie Dokey zero eight zero eight from
- 6:09Speaker 1: b FY t W.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It's so good to have the dream team from because Fucky.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That's why on this a pair of famous stoners on
- 6:22Speaker 1: our marijuana episode.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much for the invoid.
- 6:25Speaker 8: We were so honored and like so excited to do
- 6:29Speaker 8: this today that we started smoking at early times. It's
- 6:34Speaker 8: gonna sound really bad if I say at the time,
- 6:36Speaker 8: So I'm just gonna say, we just pregamed.
- 6:39Speaker 9: Never mind, Yeah, yeah, me too.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, we started very early.
- 6:47Speaker 10: Good.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate, appreciate you for finding your way to
- 6:50Speaker 1: the studio. If you're pregaming, that's early.
- 6:54Speaker 3: It's easy when you start in the studio.
- 6:57Speaker 7: Started here and there, everywhere outside directing us back here
- 7:03Speaker 7: get lost.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's a good system. That's a good system, all right.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Fourth thought, I know you as the Liverpool stone A
- 7:10Speaker 1: Path from game show podcast b FYTW. But are there
- 7:14Speaker 1: any aspects of stone a culture, classic stone A culture
- 7:17Speaker 1: that you two are breeding into?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Oh? Man, not really.
- 7:23Speaker 8: I'd say it's the new age stoner stuff that we've
- 7:26Speaker 8: found out.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I mean nice, I.
- 7:28Speaker 8: Really got into marijuana pre medical in New York, but
- 7:35Speaker 8: through Colorado. I traveled to Colorado a lot, but I
- 7:38Speaker 8: use it a lot for my PTSD issues from Iraq.
- 7:41Speaker 8: So I did three tours over in Iraq and I
- 7:44Speaker 8: had a lot of mental issues and stuff, and it's
- 7:46Speaker 8: helped a ton, and not just natally. It's also helped
- 7:50Speaker 8: with like a lot of my joint veins, which is
- 7:52Speaker 8: freaking awesome. So it's like I do it a lot medically,
- 7:56Speaker 8: but while through medically, I also do it recreationally.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Now.
- 8:02Speaker 8: I used to be heavy into drinking, smoking cigarettes. I
- 8:05Speaker 8: was gambling a lot. I was doing a lot of
- 8:08Speaker 8: reckless things, and since then, like since I started taking
- 8:12Speaker 8: up marijuana, I haven't done any of that stuff, which
- 8:14Speaker 8: is kind of nice.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Oh hell yeah, Yeah, so.
- 8:16Speaker 8: For me, it's a healing thing. So I don't know
- 8:18Speaker 8: if that's more the new age thing now or does
- 8:21Speaker 8: the new thing we're finding out or what.
- 8:22Speaker 7: But.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Dude, I don't know what to describe it, but it's awesome.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Yeah for me doing literally anything high, it's just it
- 8:34Speaker 6: makes it better.
- 8:36Speaker 11: Straight up.
- 8:36Speaker 12: Yeah, like playing games, building stuff, and you'll do it
- 8:42Speaker 12: for hours and like get a blink of an eye.
- 8:47Speaker 3: It is insane.
- 8:48Speaker 11: But yeah, it is definitely one of those like it's
- 8:51Speaker 11: it's nice to see that it's it's been discovered to
- 8:56Speaker 11: be actually useful and helpful and that.
- 9:00Speaker 12: It's starting to become this thing where it's widely accepted.
- 9:04Speaker 3: It's it's kind of going away that like caffeine.
- 9:08Speaker 12: Went where, like it wasn't always really available to everybody,
- 9:12Speaker 12: but then it did and it kind of helped, uh edge,
- 9:17Speaker 12: you know, move a move humanity along in a way,
- 9:20Speaker 12: and we seems to be that next keystone thing to
- 9:24Speaker 12: maybe do that as well.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it certainly felt like when when coffee it was introduced,
- 9:30Speaker 1: it was because society needed a ton of energy to
- 9:32Speaker 1: get things going and and now we all need to
- 9:35Speaker 1: calm the hell down.
- 9:38Speaker 3: We go back to right.
- 9:41Speaker 11: We can't go back to alcohol because that's just a depressant.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, gosh.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh this suddenly isn't because I just can't
- 9:49Speaker 1: stop laughing at the sound of our own voices.
- 9:55Speaker 8: I'm sorry, guys, we've run it too real in my
- 9:58Speaker 8: phone was and there's benefits to weed.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I just did.
- 10:05Speaker 11: That also is incredibly funny because there are things you're like,
- 10:08Speaker 11: I heard a bug fart in the corner.
- 10:10Speaker 9: Of the room.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, no, that's that was a great thing to say, Stevie,
- 10:16Speaker 1: for sure. I'm just like far too high to engage
- 10:21Speaker 1: with it on the usual classic, soft but still entertaining
- 10:24Speaker 1: emotional brands that we that we do sometimes. So I'm
- 10:29Speaker 1: just going to say hell yeah, and we'll move on
- 10:31Speaker 1: to the next section.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Hell yeah, hell yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Okay, teams, you've just arrived at the dispensary. But because
- 10:41Speaker 1: it's all corporate these days, they won't let you in
- 10:44Speaker 1: without proper branding. So I'd like each pair to come
- 10:47Speaker 1: up with a weed themed team name. Please. We will
- 10:50Speaker 1: start with Audra and Adam. What have you got?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I have three core ideas. Adam and I met at
- 10:57Speaker 2: a religious university, and so I have taken and I
- 11:01Speaker 2: have fused the two the two pillars in two stoner salvations. Yes,
- 11:12Speaker 2: marijuana missionaries are my favorite. Potheads of Pentecost.
- 11:26Speaker 5: The potheads of Pentecost I think, I think takes the cake.
- 11:31Speaker 5: I uh, I mean you've got like your you're obvious,
- 11:35Speaker 5: you know, like gay keepers, your gate chiefers.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I like that.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I like that.
- 11:42Speaker 5: I tried to think of a classic like stoner band
- 11:46Speaker 5: and to do like a good like play on words
- 11:49Speaker 5: with it, mm hmm, and the only one I could
- 11:54Speaker 5: come up with was sublimine like instead of sublime like sublimin.
- 12:03Speaker 5: I just couldn't stop laughing about that. Like that was
- 12:06Speaker 5: just the first stumbling block, you know. I never got past.
- 12:09Speaker 1: It so I could believe it. I could believe it
- 12:14Speaker 1: is comedy gold. Okay, see I.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Love the Pentecostal potheads. That's just that's too incredible.
- 12:24Speaker 2: That's good stuff, all right, So Potheads of Pentecost.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And Potheads of Pentecosta.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Unless you want it flip reversed, but I'm gonna stick up.
- 12:39Speaker 4: It's my favorite one. I will throw one more in
- 12:42Speaker 4: the ring. Cush Crusaders. I like that.
- 12:48Speaker 1: The problem is I have already written it on the
- 12:50Speaker 1: analog paper like Potheads of Pentecosta is there now and
- 12:57Speaker 1: you can't moment.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I cannot edit paper.
- 13:03Speaker 1: But that's it's it's good to get extra team names
- 13:05Speaker 1: and it really is. Okay, we've got the heads of Pensacosts,
- 13:10Speaker 1: but who will they be facing Stevie? Okay, any ideas?
- 13:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the Crusaders.
- 13:19Speaker 8: Like last night, Like it's crazy.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Because yes, token weed, but that's.
- 13:33Speaker 8: I had to get it in there somewhere or I
- 13:35Speaker 8: would get yelled at if I didn't get it somewhere.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I love how close the acronym for that is to
- 13:42Speaker 2: b F Y t W.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's so like convenient in so good.
- 13:49Speaker 8: Right, it's just good to stay on brand.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I try to use one of our our slogans. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 3: this one high Draders, but it's high H.
- 14:02Speaker 11: I g H High drate tours nice nice.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I like it. High drates is that's I always love what.
- 14:11Speaker 3: What is that? That one was the dank Duo? Pretty good?
- 14:20Speaker 3: I do like the one you came up.
- 14:22Speaker 8: The last one, all right, the last one we had
- 14:24Speaker 8: here and I had trouble seeing it, so I had
- 14:27Speaker 8: to practice like five times.
- 14:31Speaker 3: And it's only three words.
- 14:33Speaker 8: The gorilla glue grinders, yeah, or the triple G.
- 14:38Speaker 1: E Oh, I love the triple J. The gorilla glue
- 14:44Speaker 1: grinders is fantastic.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yes. Also, if that is the name you go with,
- 14:48Speaker 2: Matt will have to say it several times throughout.
- 14:50Speaker 8: The had to make it difficult and fun.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I was told by a game master, make it entertaining.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Okay, I'm feeling Aaron's influence in all of this for sure.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Yes, no, no, no, I'm just making stuff up. No,
- 15:11Speaker 3: I can't even lie anymore.
- 15:18Speaker 4: All right.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And if you're listening to this and thinking, you all
- 15:21Speaker 1: sound nice and relaxed. But I never I've never even
- 15:25Speaker 1: smoked a joint in college, just like Obama did.
- 15:29Speaker 9: That's what I read.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I wrote that, Soba, I've never smoked to college. I've
- 15:39Speaker 1: never even smoked a joint in college, just like Obama did.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I'm leaving all that in, don't worry his order with
- 15:48Speaker 1: a little segment we like to call passing knowledge.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Marijuana, also known as cannabis weed or marigold's greenhouse legumes,
- 16:02Speaker 2: is a plant known for its medicinal and psychoactive properties,
- 16:07Speaker 2: and in the twenty first century it's low key replacing
- 16:10Speaker 2: alcohol as the drug needed to drown out the horrors
- 16:14Speaker 2: of late stage capitalism and neo colonialism. Oh, it also
- 16:18Speaker 2: makes you say sentences like that last one, which is
- 16:21Speaker 2: why the authoritarian figures have been against it.
- 16:24Speaker 9: For so long.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Man.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Seventeen percent of American adults claim to consume marijuana on
- 16:32Speaker 2: a regular basis, with just over half of Americans saying
- 16:35Speaker 2: they've tried it at least once, which means just under
- 16:39Speaker 2: half of Americans are lame as hell. Cannabis can be
- 16:43Speaker 2: consumed by smoking or vaping the dried or infused herb,
- 16:47Speaker 2: eaten in the form of an edible from modern gummies
- 16:50Speaker 2: to your mother's chocolate brownies in the seventies, or as
- 16:54Speaker 2: a honeycombed block of Moroccan hashish, biting into it like
- 16:58Speaker 2: a mad bee. Marijuana has existed alongside popular culture since
- 17:03Speaker 2: the nineteen sixties, which is why music from that era
- 17:07Speaker 2: sounds that way. The seventies saw the introduction of stoner movies,
- 17:11Speaker 2: which peaked in the late nineties and two thousands after
- 17:15Speaker 2: everyone remembered to write high and edit sober. Weed has
- 17:19Speaker 2: been positioned alongside counter culture even before President Nixon's War
- 17:24Speaker 2: on drugs, and has been positioned alongside my body since
- 17:27Speaker 2: I saw the War on Drugs at an open air
- 17:30Speaker 2: concert in twenty seventeen. If consuming marijuana has never been
- 17:34Speaker 2: for you, it's not for everyone, and that's okay. But
- 17:38Speaker 2: also congratulations on naturally having the brain chemistry that syncs
- 17:42Speaker 2: up with this mad reality. Now, if you excuse me,
- 17:46Speaker 2: my gummy is wearing off and I must pop another.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Let's play Fade Weavers for the listener at home. If
- 17:56Speaker 2: you have not picked up on it. We had stopped
- 17:59Speaker 2: recording and then started, and we thought we started recording,
- 18:03Speaker 2: but we did not. We did the entirety, well three
- 18:05Speaker 2: quarters of the Mews section before we realized we had
- 18:08Speaker 2: not been recording. Again.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we we have. We had Audro give a very
- 18:15Speaker 1: informative muws Adam link link his news to the deconstruction
- 18:19Speaker 1: of religion, then give a very sentimental music about very
- 18:22Speaker 1: sentimental bond. But we've just we've lost that. And also
- 18:26Speaker 1: I want to say, because I know about four people
- 18:29Speaker 1: who will accuse me of this all being written and
- 18:31Speaker 1: that this was all planned. This was not. This is
- 18:33Speaker 1: not planned. We didn't. We didn't forgot. I forgot to
- 18:40Speaker 1: hit records.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I will call you a liar to your fucking face.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I think I'm crying.
- 18:57Speaker 1: This is the most perfect thing that could have happened.
- 19:02Speaker 1: This is why I don't normally do drug This is
- 19:04Speaker 1: the proof that I'm sober for the rest of the records.
- 19:07Speaker 5: So we have the microphone in the first in the
- 19:12Speaker 5: first part, and so I'm the one that doesn't podcast,
- 19:16Speaker 5: and I'm.
- 19:16Speaker 4: The only one that hasn't had I'm in my fucking
- 19:22Speaker 4: element here, you guys.
- 19:25Speaker 9: We are all amateurs. I'm sorry.
- 19:29Speaker 2: We just want to run both of our podcasts.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're looking for some producers, we need it.
- 19:36Speaker 9: Us doing this thing for like fifteen years, like the fuck.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Man, Oh, don't do drugs, kids.
- 19:45Speaker 9: Don't?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah do it?
- 19:47Speaker 9: Who cares?
- 19:48Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 19:50Speaker 4: Records you are?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Okay, So before we get to Stevie's segment, saving muse,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I'm just going to get some recaps of everyone's muses
- 20:01Speaker 1: in sort of like a couple of sentences. A less Ultra,
- 20:05Speaker 1: the Oracle.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Of Delphi was very influential, and she was also high
- 20:09Speaker 2: off her fucking tits, saying nonsense that people took as prophecies,
- 20:14Speaker 2: and she was actually somehow kind of wise, which is
- 20:16Speaker 2: weed culture today, and I think it's awesome, Adam go.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Boom okay, Evangel University lunch tray converted into rolling Trey.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Back in the day, I would I would use it
- 20:31Speaker 5: as a way to be the fuck you evangel, But
- 20:32Speaker 5: now it's a good reminder of where I've been, how.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Far I've come, uh and how to uh. I don't
- 20:41Speaker 4: remember what I said, earl.
- 20:43Speaker 9: Yeah it was.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It was very good.
- 20:44Speaker 2: People being connected together is spiritual.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Yes, that's what it was.
- 20:49Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because cannabis helped me connect
- 20:54Speaker 5: my spirituality to real people in real life as opposed
- 20:57Speaker 5: to something out there, and that was a very important
- 21:02Speaker 5: shift in the way that I live.
- 21:03Speaker 1: They they go. That's the the cliff notes of a
- 21:07Speaker 1: point that would have been very insightful. Yeah, okay, everyone
- 21:14Speaker 1: else has gone over two sentences, so feel free to Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 9: I brought a dirty bong. Its name is Chaos Emerald.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Yes, yes, okay. I apologize to our guests for for
- 21:33Speaker 1: missing the full versions of your muses, but hey, it's
- 21:37Speaker 1: the four twenty episode.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and isn't it just so beautiful that all five
- 21:40Speaker 2: of us just get to share those.
- 21:45Speaker 9: We had for us.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Okay, back to business as usual, Stevie, what's what's inspiring
- 21:54Speaker 1: you about weed?
- 21:56Speaker 9: The best thing about weed to me is just weed.
- 22:01Speaker 8: So this little container here has little vials and each
- 22:06Speaker 8: file has a different strain of weed inside it.
- 22:09Speaker 9: So there's thirty five different vials in here.
- 22:11Speaker 8: Each have a different strain which has Indica sativa hybrid
- 22:14Speaker 8: and it's all categorized in that fashion. So goes Tativa
- 22:19Speaker 8: hybrid indica from left to right. And I've over the
- 22:23Speaker 8: years collected this has got a special humidor type of
- 22:25Speaker 8: setup on it. And whenever I find something that I
- 22:29Speaker 8: really enjoy or hits me, there's just right, I write
- 22:32Speaker 8: it in my little book of things to not forget,
- 22:35Speaker 8: like under the strain it is, and then where it
- 22:37Speaker 8: is in the chart.
- 22:38Speaker 9: And then this stays with me.
- 22:40Speaker 8: So during special occasions, weddings, things like that. I'm also
- 22:43Speaker 8: a minister, so I do. So I've done a couple
- 22:49Speaker 8: of highways, one with a grateful dead couple.
- 22:53Speaker 9: They are amazing.
- 22:54Speaker 8: They're they're awesome like they were. They had a podcast
- 22:57Speaker 8: back in the day too. They were cool to call
- 22:59Speaker 8: after birds and thirty nine some deadheads like great people.
- 23:04Speaker 8: But this, this, this is it for me, like being
- 23:07Speaker 8: able to find different types of medicine pretty much and
- 23:11Speaker 8: what they do. And when we get to that point,
- 23:14Speaker 8: share it with people.
- 23:15Speaker 9: Want to celebration that's so cool.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Hell yeah, he's got he's got a catalog of every celebration.
- 23:24Speaker 2: That's so cool. I knew how cool that. Adam and
- 23:28Speaker 2: I both thought that that was because as you were
- 23:30Speaker 2: describing it, we were both slack job locked on the screen.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever wanted anything that much about
- 23:41Speaker 2: my life, little sample box.
- 23:50Speaker 9: I mean, I wanted to do a week of the Month.
- 23:53Speaker 8: Club, I really did, but there's so many like urdles
- 23:57Speaker 8: without getting so it's.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Like, yeah, just to clarify this being in a public forum,
- 24:02Speaker 1: that's not a plan that's going to happen.
- 24:04Speaker 9: No, don't do. But also it's it's legal everywhere.
- 24:08Speaker 1: We Yeah, and you should sell those bags though, I
- 24:13Speaker 1: think people would just buy those bags with the little vials.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I think so yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 8: I mean yeah, I mean I didn't make it.
- 24:26Speaker 9: I was like, oh, that's a good idea, incredible.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Oh well, look, we're all inspired, we're all high as hell.
- 24:36Speaker 1: This has been the most chaotic start to a gate
- 24:39Speaker 1: Leapers episode. Should we should we get to some games?
- 24:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Alright, let's see if we can make those happen. Right, teams,
- 24:46Speaker 1: Let's pack ourselves up in a small room, light all
- 24:49Speaker 1: the joints, and hot box ourselves into Round one. Round
- 24:58Speaker 1: one is our classic game of delib operation, elimination, and deception.
- 25:02Speaker 1: That this time we're calling I'm high. Can you repeat that? Please?
- 25:07Speaker 1: I will name because that's going to be said a lot.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I will name a category and then give each team
- 25:13Speaker 1: a list of five items supposedly from that category. There
- 25:17Speaker 1: will be three correct answers and two completely made up.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Our teams must pick correct answers one by one, avoiding
- 25:25Speaker 1: the incorrect answers. Pick an incorrect answer, and you'll be
- 25:29Speaker 1: frozen out of this list, like ice in one of
- 25:32Speaker 1: those bonds. You can put ice.
- 25:33Speaker 9: In awesome or no, not awesome.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to be frozen. Don't want to
- 25:39Speaker 1: be frozen. Okay, So the first category, each team will
- 25:44Speaker 1: get a list of these It's strains listed on Leafley's
- 25:48Speaker 1: Top one hundred strains of all time. Okay, so we're
- 25:52Speaker 1: going to start things off with potheads of pentecost, Raise Jesus.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Here is your list of five strains. Wedding cake, nine
- 26:05Speaker 1: pound hammer, Blueberry zen Glow, sizzle Og, and Grandaddy Purple.
- 26:13Speaker 1: How do those five names sound.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I feel like Granddaddy Purple's gotta be real. I don't know.
- 26:19Speaker 9: Definitely, it definitely is.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it'll be Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 10: You go.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You just straight away picking Granddaddy Purple as one of
- 26:25Speaker 1: the top one hundred. Yeah, yeah, it's it's yeah, it's real,
- 26:29Speaker 1: it's nice. It's point.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You got it right, probably as much as I know.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I don't know if you recognize any of the other ones.
- 26:39Speaker 3: The next one I'm going to have trouble remembering all
- 26:42Speaker 3: of these. Was the first one, wedding Cake.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, wedding cake is there.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Yeah, wedding cake will probably be in the top one
- 26:49Speaker 5: hundred dolls.
- 26:51Speaker 1: It is, indeed, wedding cake. That's a point. If there's
- 26:54Speaker 1: only one correct one left to find, you've got nine
- 26:57Speaker 1: pound hammer, Blueberry zen Glow, sizzle Og.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I feel like Blueberry zen Glow is going to be fake. Okay,
- 27:06Speaker 2: it feels like three. It feels like three of them,
- 27:09Speaker 2: three words that are supposed to be like that's definitely
- 27:13Speaker 2: a weed. So I feel like that one. I feel
- 27:16Speaker 2: like that one's got to be fake.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think I think Sizzle o G is
- 27:21Speaker 4: the real one.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'm with that, going with Sizzle o G. That's not real.
- 27:25Speaker 1: That's that's made.
- 27:28Speaker 2: As far as I know, as long as Blueberry zen
- 27:32Speaker 2: Glow is fake, I'll be happy that was.
- 27:34Speaker 1: The other fake one. Yeah, nine pounds hammer is the
- 27:37Speaker 1: other real one.
- 27:38Speaker 9: Yeah, very nice. Yeah, it was very good.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, good stuff, good stuff. Yeah.
- 27:49Speaker 4: I'm gonna grow some weed and call it Sizzle o G.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Just despite and.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I'll do one called Blueberry zen Glow.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I will give you points retroactively in the future, and
- 28:00Speaker 1: I'll smoke them all. You'll pu the pop them in
- 28:04Speaker 1: the back there, pop them in the back there. I
- 28:06Speaker 1: was trying to say, Okay, let's while I can still
- 28:10Speaker 1: read words, let's move on over to gorilla glue grinders.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Here is your list of five strains. Maui, Wowie, Neon, Cush, Moonflower, Haze,
- 28:24Speaker 1: Dutch Treat, and a C D C. Any of those
- 28:28Speaker 1: ringing any bells?
- 28:30Speaker 9: Oh? Yeah, yeah? Which which which when you're thinking first?
- 28:36Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm done with that. I've had Malley Wallie back
- 28:39Speaker 8: in the day.
- 28:39Speaker 9: I recently.
- 28:41Speaker 8: Yeah, it's special, it's in the special flower.
- 28:48Speaker 4: You know what it might be.
- 28:50Speaker 1: It might be.
- 28:53Speaker 5: That's the first strand I ever smoked with ash. It
- 28:56Speaker 5: was in an at Brothers sponsort of Red Rock.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Oh nice, nice, Well, Adams just confirmed it is indeed real,
- 29:04Speaker 1: and it is indeed in Leafley's Top one hundreds, and
- 29:05Speaker 1: they go, MAUI wowie for a point.
- 29:08Speaker 9: Very nice, very nice.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Next one, I'm pretty sure Dutch treat is one.
- 29:15Speaker 9: Do you remember I thought we smoked it somewhere, Yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 9: we did. I think it was in d C. But
- 29:21Speaker 9: I could be wrong, but I think Dutch.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Treat was Dutch treat.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I smoked in DC.
- 29:29Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, I didn't smoked.
- 29:35Speaker 1: With that attitude a d C. So Dutch treat you
- 29:43Speaker 1: going with that one is as crazy it is indeed. Yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 1: these are these boys know their strains.
- 29:49Speaker 9: Awesome, awesome. And then I couldn't hear. What was the
- 29:52Speaker 9: third one?
- 29:53Speaker 1: You say you got the three, you're left with only
- 29:55Speaker 1: one of them left to get Neon, Cush, Moonflower Haze
- 30:00Speaker 1: and a c d C.
- 30:01Speaker 9: I'm not sure if it's a c D sier than Neon.
- 30:05Speaker 9: I can't remember. Man. I want to go with the
- 30:09Speaker 9: Neon one because it's weird. Yeah you sure? I don't know?
- 30:13Speaker 8: E c DC is starting to ring a bell now, crap,
- 30:16Speaker 8: really it is. But what do you want to do
- 30:19Speaker 8: if you think it's a C I don't.
- 30:21Speaker 9: That's the problem. Going to the Neon one number, the
- 30:27Speaker 9: third one you never forgot again?
- 30:29Speaker 1: You want to go with Neon? You want to go
- 30:30Speaker 1: with Neon Kush.
- 30:32Speaker 9: That one right, Yeah, they would do that.
- 30:34Speaker 1: It's not Neon Kush. It is a DC. I'm so sorry.
- 30:41Speaker 1: The Stevie from fifteen seconds ago was right. The Stevie
- 30:44Speaker 1: from ten seconds ago was wrong.
- 30:47Speaker 9: It always shoot your Stevie's fault every time Stevie. Stevie
- 30:53Speaker 9: always knows.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Hey, that's still good stuff, though, two out of three
- 30:56Speaker 1: I think. I think God seems they know that strains.
- 30:59Speaker 1: This is good stuff. Okay, we're gonna go for a
- 31:02Speaker 1: new category.
- 31:03Speaker 9: Now.
- 31:04Speaker 1: This one's this one's a fun one. They're all they're
- 31:07Speaker 1: all fun. This is slang listed as common street names
- 31:13Speaker 1: for cannabis on the official on the official d E.
- 31:17Speaker 1: A fact cheat. So this is what the government considers
- 31:20Speaker 1: to be the official street names. So Pentecost potheads of Pentecost.
- 31:28Speaker 1: To give you your full title, here is your list of
- 31:31Speaker 1: five ganger green, boom, honk. Sorry I shouldn't have hit
- 31:42Speaker 1: eye contact.
- 31:45Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I'm laughing at the one that's about to come or
- 31:53Speaker 1: ant Mary. So that's Gan, that's Ganger, Green, Boom, Honk,
- 32:05Speaker 1: and Mary.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Wow, we gotta go with Ganja.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that one first, first and first and foremost.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Gog is on there. Ganger is there for a point,
- 32:14Speaker 1: I think.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Because Boom and Honk are nonsense. One of those has
- 32:19Speaker 2: to be real, because I don't think you would do
- 32:23Speaker 2: the other three is real and then have create Boom
- 32:26Speaker 2: and Honk. So one of them is based on the
- 32:29Speaker 2: other one. But I have I have no idea.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Did you say Green, also.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Green, Boom, Honk and Aunt Mary?
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess you'll say aunt Mary, Aunt Mary.
- 32:51Speaker 4: I mean Green. Yeah, that's got to be on there.
- 32:57Speaker 2: It's gotta be Yeah, go with.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Green's not on there. I'm sorry, you're frozen out of
- 33:04Speaker 1: the list. Green is not listed on the official d
- 33:07Speaker 1: e A fact Chief you.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Can tell that Obama's the only president to have smoked
- 33:11Speaker 2: a joint Green.
- 33:17Speaker 9: You can't use it.
- 33:20Speaker 1: So the other two real ones are Boom, Okay and
- 33:25Speaker 1: and Mary the real real ones.
- 33:30Speaker 5: And Honk is is hilarious, is insane, It's so funny.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Boom is is wild.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Who's ever taken a just a big inhale from a
- 33:44Speaker 2: joint and then said.
- 33:47Speaker 9: Boom, that makes me want to go?
- 33:53Speaker 2: No one has ever.
- 33:56Speaker 9: No, I can't recall that at all. And I smoked
- 33:58Speaker 9: a lot.
- 34:00Speaker 4: That's so funny.
- 34:01Speaker 1: All right, Let's let's have another funny list of these
- 34:03Speaker 1: five words, this time for the gorilla gluke grinders. Here
- 34:08Speaker 1: are five words that possibly the DEA could could consider
- 34:12Speaker 1: to be slang terms for weed, reefer, gangster, dirt, yerba,
- 34:20Speaker 1: and jazz cigarettes.
- 34:22Speaker 9: Ah well, long ago. With the easy one first log, Yeah, yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 13: I get the easy one out of the way.
- 34:28Speaker 9: Go for it, sir.
- 34:29Speaker 1: The first one, reefer, Yeah, reef is on that list.
- 34:33Speaker 1: They respect that as slang as a point, that's.
- 34:36Speaker 4: An American classic.
- 34:39Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, that's been used for a long time. One
- 34:43Speaker 8: of the first times I got caught. I think they
- 34:45Speaker 8: said that too. You know, I'm thinking about.
- 34:47Speaker 9: It, young man, late late nineties.
- 34:50Speaker 8: Yeah, I can't remember, but my grandmother used to see
- 34:57Speaker 8: Jesz cigarettes all the time. The fifth one, so let's
- 35:02Speaker 8: go with that one, just like jazz cabbage is another one.
- 35:05Speaker 1: With jazz cigarettes. Jess cigarettes is not there. It's not not.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Doesn't want us to know that people call it jazz cigarettes.
- 35:15Speaker 9: Yep, no, No, that means we can say it. They're
- 35:17Speaker 9: not looking for it.
- 35:19Speaker 7: You know.
- 35:20Speaker 8: They call it George Washington too, they do. Do you
- 35:22Speaker 8: guys want some jazz cigarettes? I'm selling them mad cheap over.
- 35:25Speaker 9: And you can't say that we got George Washington's yet.
- 35:29Speaker 1: These things aren't listed on the DEAs things. So this
- 35:32Speaker 1: is totally fine to say.
- 35:33Speaker 9: Yeah, wow, there's crazy.
- 35:36Speaker 1: You can stop. You can stop the Moly subscription service
- 35:39Speaker 1: as long as you call them jazz cigarettes and George Washington's.
- 35:43Speaker 9: I'm an idiot.
- 35:44Speaker 7: It wasn't George Washington's. It was funny that because it
- 35:46Speaker 7: was George Bush. There's too many. George Washington's means money
- 35:53Speaker 7: we have. George Bush means weed.
- 35:55Speaker 8: You get rid of some of those storges.
- 36:00Speaker 2: But when you buy weed and you exchange George Bush
- 36:02Speaker 2: for George Washington, we can just call this a peaceful
- 36:06Speaker 2: transfer of power.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Incredible. Yeah. The other two real ones there were Gangster
- 36:17Speaker 1: and Yerba m like your mate. Yeah with the other.
- 36:22Speaker 9: Yeah, it's gotta be some l a thing. Yeah that one.
- 36:31Speaker 1: So yeah, you got one same as the other team it's.
- 36:34Speaker 9: You know, yeah, we're equivalent.
- 36:37Speaker 8: Yeah, we're like, we're like a perfect equation.
- 36:41Speaker 9: Guys, we are right now, and mad's the equilibrium in between.
- 36:46Speaker 1: That's so beautiful. That's all I've ever wanted is med equilibrium. Okay,
- 36:54Speaker 1: so we got one more category for our players. This
- 36:58Speaker 1: time it's films that features Degen, famous Stoner actor seth Rogen.
- 37:06Speaker 1: These are films that feature seth Rogen. So hot heads
- 37:10Speaker 1: of pensecost. Here is your list of five films. Three
- 37:13Speaker 1: of them feature seth Rogen, two of them Don't Zoolander,
- 37:18Speaker 1: Observe and Report, Shrek, the Third, Doctor, Samurai, and for
- 37:25Speaker 1: a Good Time Call.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Okay, do you do you have any that you know
- 37:30Speaker 4: from that?
- 37:32Speaker 2: I can't remember what the first one is, but I
- 37:35Speaker 2: think I have strong feelings about the first one. In
- 37:37Speaker 2: the last one, Zulander, I think he's not in Zulander.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I don't think he's in Zulander. I think he might
- 37:46Speaker 2: have been in for a good Time Call. I hope
- 37:49Speaker 2: that doesn't lock us out. It's just because that is
- 37:53Speaker 2: it's a very little known rerom com but I fucking
- 37:56Speaker 2: love it, and so I think it'd be a deep
- 37:58Speaker 2: pull if it's not. If he's not actually in it.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Go for it. Let's go for it.
- 38:03Speaker 1: That's absolutely correct, incredible, it's his wife made it or something.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Oh but he's also in it.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Hell yeah, I haven't watched that movie in a long time.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I really liked it at the time.
- 38:18Speaker 1: They go, all right, so there's one. You've got two
- 38:20Speaker 1: more correct answers there, Okay, we hit that list one
- 38:22Speaker 1: more time. Absolutely, it's the name of the game. Zoolander,
- 38:27Speaker 1: Observe and Report, Shrek the Third and Doctor Samurai Observe
- 38:33Speaker 1: and Report.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Is I'm leaning if I was going to if I
- 38:37Speaker 2: was going to pick one of them from this list,
- 38:39Speaker 2: I would say observant report. So for both saying that.
- 38:42Speaker 1: It is indeed observant report. There you go the a
- 38:45Speaker 1: seth Rogen vehicle.
- 38:47Speaker 4: Incredible, And last but not least, Shrek the Third.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go Shrek.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Let's get shreked Shrek the Third. You're getting shrecked. It's
- 38:57Speaker 1: three for three. It is he's in Shrek.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Shrek is and Shrek is blazon.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And you didn't fall for Zulander Ordro you knew that
- 39:09Speaker 1: he wasn't in Zulander and Doctor Samurais isn't a real
- 39:13Speaker 1: film Okay, let's have a list of Seth rogued movies
- 39:19Speaker 1: for the gorilla glue grinders. Here are your five films,
- 39:24Speaker 1: The Green Hornet, Blades of Glory, Kung Fu, Panda five,
- 39:30Speaker 1: An American Pickle, and Donnie Darko.
- 39:34Speaker 9: Did you say American Pickle?
- 39:36Speaker 1: An American Pickle?
- 39:39Speaker 8: I don't think that's an appropriate movie for us to
- 39:41Speaker 8: be talking about.
- 39:42Speaker 2: You.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Come on, we've all got them, well we do.
- 39:51Speaker 9: He was in the Green Hornet because he was the
- 39:53Speaker 9: Green Hornet, I believe. Yeah, let's start with Green Hornet.
- 39:58Speaker 1: You're going with green Horne.
- 40:00Speaker 9: Yeah, we're talking.
- 40:01Speaker 8: About Seth ROSI and I thought we were talking about
- 40:02Speaker 8: Seth Green were talking about things like Shrek, and I
- 40:06Speaker 8: was like weed. And then we started the Green Hornet
- 40:09Speaker 8: and I was like, oh, so we get our George.
- 40:11Speaker 9: George is mixed up.
- 40:12Speaker 2: We get our mixed.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, the Green Hornet another Seth Broken vehicle from
- 40:22Speaker 1: the Height of Seth Broken Mania.
- 40:25Speaker 9: Awesome? Awesome? Was there five pan the movies? I get themselves?
- 40:29Speaker 9: All right? Okay, Blades of Glory. That was the other dude,
- 40:34Speaker 9: that was.
- 40:34Speaker 8: Blaze of Glory, right, Blades, this is it's the skating movie, right, Yeah?
- 40:40Speaker 9: Blades of Glory.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Yeah, it's just skating. I don't think it was in that.
- 40:43Speaker 8: I don't know, Okay, all I know, I don't know
- 40:46Speaker 8: the other one. So any guesses or can I just
- 40:48Speaker 8: pick stuff?
- 40:49Speaker 9: Pick stuff?
- 40:50Speaker 8: Let's beget an American vical, because that's awesome, awesome, it's
- 40:55Speaker 8: a real movie.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Oh my god, Sethron's movie. It sounds up, but it's really.
- 41:03Speaker 5: So strayed the trailer. I watched it and I was like,
- 41:06Speaker 5: I saw the trailer. It's one of those where I
- 41:09Speaker 5: was like, I'm good on it. After the trailer, I.
- 41:11Speaker 9: Think, yeah, really that's fair. I've seen a couple of
- 41:16Speaker 9: movies I wish I didn't.
- 41:17Speaker 7: Yeah, Oh, Darney Doc, Yeah, Darney Yeah, Donny Donko.
- 41:29Speaker 9: Because I know that's a real movie, but I don't.
- 41:32Speaker 9: I'm dann. I think he was in it. I mean
- 41:37Speaker 9: Kung Fu Panda, he was. There was five of them.
- 41:39Speaker 9: He was probably a voice of one of the character.
- 41:42Speaker 8: Sure, if there's five pandas, he's got to be the
- 41:44Speaker 8: voice of at least one of them.
- 41:45Speaker 2: He's got.
- 41:49Speaker 9: One of the fandom five. That's a lot of pandas. Man,
- 41:54Speaker 9: You've seen five pandas on one his four brothers that's broken.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Probably would play one of them, to be fair, So.
- 42:03Speaker 7: That's not that's gonna be our hail Mary.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Look.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Ye, he's in four of the Kung Fu Pandam movies,
- 42:10Speaker 1: but they did they haven't made a five yet, so
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'm sorry it's not there. But in a few a
- 42:16Speaker 1: few years time, you might be right.
- 42:17Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, so we're playing the longest.
- 42:19Speaker 3: We can get.
- 42:22Speaker 9: Yeah, all right, I'll remind you, don't worry. Yeah, it's serious. Reminder.
- 42:30Speaker 1: He had a he had a smaller part in Donnie Darko.
- 42:33Speaker 1: It was his film. It was his film debut, and
- 42:35Speaker 1: he had a smaller role in it.
- 42:39Speaker 8: I have a confession. I don't think I've ever seen
- 42:41Speaker 8: that movie.
- 42:41Speaker 9: I have, and I just didn't realize it was him.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I've only seen it once, like ages ago, so
- 42:46Speaker 1: I forgot until I was researching this.
- 42:50Speaker 9: It was great, like I heard it's a really good movie.
- 42:52Speaker 9: I just never seen it.
- 42:53Speaker 7: But once again, we're like we were there, Like I
- 42:56Speaker 7: was like, no change it, but we did.
- 43:00Speaker 4: All right.
- 43:01Speaker 1: That is the end of round one. Let's ask sublime
- 43:04Speaker 1: or what did you call the madam earlier?
- 43:06Speaker 2: Sublimin?
- 43:07Speaker 4: Sublime Sublimin.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah, let's ask sublemin to calculate the latest scores. So
- 43:13Speaker 1: if I smoke two joints in the morning and two
- 43:17Speaker 1: joints at night, that equals hits a pentecoster on six
- 43:21Speaker 1: points and the gorilla gluke grinders are on five points.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Oh wow, close, it's pretty close.
- 43:30Speaker 8: Well, good job everybody, yo, We're all doing good. This
- 43:34Speaker 8: is a great team game.
- 43:35Speaker 9: I'm loving.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard to fire up the spirit of competition
- 43:38Speaker 1: when we're all so high.
- 43:42Speaker 9: I'm just happy, you know what. This is great. Everybody's
- 43:47Speaker 9: getting points and stuff. This is cool. It's not like
- 43:49Speaker 9: our show. On our show, we don't give points.
- 43:51Speaker 13: We got we got five points with a a six
- 43:56Speaker 13: to oneth on its way fure'.
- 44:02Speaker 7: That's when the inevitable Kung Fu Panda five six seven,
- 44:10Speaker 7: Jack and his four brothers all voice voice seth Rogan.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Unlike real pandas kung Fu Panda will not go extinct.
- 44:20Speaker 1: And with that up next is round two after this
- 44:23Speaker 1: corporate commercial greed. But look, in the spirit of this episode,
- 44:27Speaker 1: just go on skip them, fight the power, smoke a
- 44:31Speaker 1: big doobie, take your top off, see if I care.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Round two is a new game called how high, and
- 44:43Speaker 1: this might be the only time we play this game,
- 44:45Speaker 1: as it's highly dependent on the fact that everyone's edibles
- 44:47Speaker 1: should have just about kicked in good stuff. So in
- 44:52Speaker 1: this game, I'll ask our team to read aloud an
- 44:55Speaker 1: extract from a famous stoner text, a famous piece of stone,
- 45:00Speaker 1: a fiction, and then, in a test of short term memory,
- 45:03Speaker 1: that's what this game is about, I'll then ask them
- 45:06Speaker 1: and their teammate to answer three quick questions in thirty
- 45:10Speaker 1: seconds about what they just heard. So, yeah, weed is
- 45:17Speaker 1: famously has no effect on long term memory, but it
- 45:21Speaker 1: has a terrible effect on short term memory.
- 45:24Speaker 9: Yes, yes it does.
- 45:26Speaker 7: And I decided it to be funny to give the
- 45:28Speaker 7: man who can't read to read to me the man
- 45:32Speaker 7: who can't remember it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: This will this will work, This will be a good game. Okay,
- 45:40Speaker 1: so we're gonna start things with the potheads of Pentecost
- 45:44Speaker 1: and order. I believe you've you've elected to read for
- 45:47Speaker 1: your team. I have, okay, your honor. If that's we
- 45:55Speaker 1: can try. We can try out that name when we're.
- 45:58Speaker 9: Yeah, we can try that out there, got bring your gala.
- 46:05Speaker 1: So your extract is from famous piece of stone affection,
- 46:10Speaker 1: the Lord of the Rings Oh yeah, So if you
- 46:13Speaker 1: could read that extract from the Lord of the Rings,
- 46:15Speaker 1: the Fellowship of the Ring, that I've.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Just sent to you inside back end, it's.
- 46:23Speaker 1: A funny place. It's a funny place.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I think that's the first time it's ever made me laugh.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Bilbo and Gandolf were sitting at the open window of
- 46:34Speaker 2: a small room, looking out west onto the garden. The
- 46:37Speaker 2: late afternoon was bright and peaceful. The flowers glowed red
- 46:41Speaker 2: and golden, snap dragons and sunflowers. What the fuck the
- 46:47Speaker 2: nasturians trailing all over the turf walls and peeping in
- 46:52Speaker 2: at the round windows. How bright your garden looks, said Gandalf. Yes,
- 46:58Speaker 2: said Bilbo. I am very fond indeed of it, and
- 47:02Speaker 2: of all the dear old Shire. But I think I
- 47:05Speaker 2: need a holiday. You mean to go on with your plan,
- 47:08Speaker 2: then I do. I've made up my mind months ago
- 47:11Speaker 2: and I haven't changed it. Well, then it is no
- 47:15Speaker 2: good saying anymore. Stick to your plan, your whole plan mind,
- 47:20Speaker 2: and I hope it will return. I hope it will
- 47:23Speaker 2: turn out for the best for you and for all
- 47:26Speaker 2: of us. I hope. So anyway, I mean to enjoy
- 47:31Speaker 2: myself on Thursday, and have my little joke. Who will laugh,
- 47:35Speaker 2: I wonder, said Gandalf, shaking his head. We shall see,
- 47:39Speaker 2: said Bilbo. I was inventing jokes in that that did
- 47:42Speaker 2: not exist.
- 47:44Speaker 1: That was so beautifully rids. I love that it was. Sorry,
- 47:50Speaker 1: I just I never go over a bag? D you
- 47:52Speaker 1: laughing at at the start?
- 47:53Speaker 2: And then I thought it was so funny him saying.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Like, oh, actually, don't look back at the text. Yes, sorry,
- 48:03Speaker 1: because part of the game now is that you have
- 48:05Speaker 1: to remember everything that was there. But before we get
- 48:08Speaker 1: to that, I'd sometimes like to treat this like a
- 48:11Speaker 1: little bit of a talk show or do I know
- 48:13Speaker 1: you're a big Lord of the Rings fan, but Adam,
- 48:15Speaker 1: are you a Lord of the rings fan as well?
- 48:17Speaker 4: Pretty big lord of the rings fan? Not big enough
- 48:20Speaker 4: of a Lord of the Rings fan to do well?
- 48:22Speaker 4: Right here?
- 48:25Speaker 1: That's that's good to hear. And just while I continue talking,
- 48:28Speaker 1: distracting you and filling your minds with other words so
- 48:31Speaker 1: that you fail to recall what was said a minute ago,
- 48:36Speaker 1: are you ready for your thirty seconds on the clock?
- 48:39Speaker 9: Let go?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm feeling I'm feeling confident.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Okay, here are your three questions. Time starts now. What
- 48:49Speaker 1: day of the week will Bilbo play his trick? Time?
- 48:56Speaker 2: Thursday?
- 48:56Speaker 1: It is Thursday. Which two words did Tolkien use to
- 48:59Speaker 1: disco the late afternoon?
- 49:02Speaker 4: Red and golden?
- 49:04Speaker 1: It was bright and peaceful was the afternoon? What are
- 49:06Speaker 1: the three types of flowers mentioned to be in Bilbo's garden?
- 49:10Speaker 9: Snap dragons, some flowers, and.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Good stuff? Two out of three? Two out of three.
- 49:21Speaker 5: I heard adjectives, and I just remembered the colors. Yeah,
- 49:25Speaker 5: it might not have been the right colors.
- 49:28Speaker 2: More than I knew, because I was like, I don't know,
- 49:32Speaker 2: pretty nice.
- 49:35Speaker 4: We're praising and blazing over here.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Amen for two points, not the full trinity, but you're there.
- 49:41Speaker 1: You're there with two points, the father and the sun.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Great job with the three plant names as well, with
- 49:53Speaker 1: the flowers, getting all three of them because that Nasturians one.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I think Tolkien just missed bells, a different flower that
- 50:02Speaker 1: sounds similar, but now it's considered canon that this flower
- 50:05Speaker 1: exists alongside the very real snap dragons and sunflowers.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Ah, I did not remember sunflowers.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Between you, between you, we got it, Okay, good stuff?
- 50:17Speaker 1: Two out of three points there, Stevie, Are you ready
- 50:21Speaker 1: for your turn at this very ridiculous game.
- 50:26Speaker 8: My goodness, I'm just.
- 50:32Speaker 9: Like, I don't know if I want to be here.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You can't, Stevie.
- 50:39Speaker 9: Here's the thing I thought.
- 50:41Speaker 8: Like, I considered myself like a functional stoner, Like I
- 50:45Speaker 8: got a lot of work, like I get stuff done,
- 50:47Speaker 8: Like I'm very productive.
- 50:48Speaker 9: I'm very like I can get things done, and like
- 50:50Speaker 9: the whole story.
- 50:51Speaker 2: I paid attention as hard as I could.
- 50:54Speaker 9: I'm like, I couldn't answer some.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Question.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I do have an unfair vintage and how many times
- 51:01Speaker 2: I have read that specific book sound just like.
- 51:07Speaker 1: H that is true. That is true. And look, maybe
- 51:12Speaker 1: your your questions might be a touch easier, but I
- 51:14Speaker 1: have given you a more difficult text. The balance of
- 51:19Speaker 1: the questions are I think are a touch easier, but
- 51:21Speaker 1: it's much more I don't know, unconventional pros compared to
- 51:27Speaker 1: an old man and a little guy having a chat.
- 51:31Speaker 9: Old man and a little girl.
- 51:32Speaker 1: That's basically what it was. So I didn't Stevie. I
- 51:37Speaker 1: believe you're reading for your team, as framed earlier.
- 51:41Speaker 8: Yeah, this is gonna be so much fun, audience. So
- 51:45Speaker 8: I apologize now for any mis pronunciations.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Not at all, Stevie. You read it as as written,
- 51:52Speaker 1: I've sent you an extract from a famous drugsman text
- 51:57Speaker 1: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Unto S. Thompson. Awesome, awesome,
- 52:03Speaker 1: So whenever you ready take it away very soon.
- 52:06Speaker 8: I knew we would both be completely twisted, but there
- 52:10Speaker 8: was no going back and no time to rest.
- 52:13Speaker 9: We would have to ride it out.
- 52:15Speaker 8: Press registration for the fabulous Mint four hundred was already underway,
- 52:20Speaker 8: and we had to get there by four to claim
- 52:22Speaker 8: our soundproof Sweet A fashionable sporting magazine in New York
- 52:27Speaker 8: had taken care of the reservations along with this huge
- 52:30Speaker 8: red Chevy convertible.
- 52:31Speaker 9: We just read it off a lot on the Sunset strip.
- 52:35Speaker 8: The sporting editors had also given me three hundred dollars
- 52:38Speaker 8: in cash, most of which was already spent on extremely
- 52:42Speaker 8: dangerous drugs. The trunk of the car looked like a
- 52:45Speaker 8: mobile police narcotic slab. We had two bags of grass,
- 52:49Speaker 8: seventy five pellets of mascaline, five sheets of high powered
- 52:53Speaker 8: blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and
- 52:57Speaker 8: a whole galaxy of multi colored upper downers, screamers, laughters,
- 53:03Speaker 8: and also a quard of tequila, a quard of rum,
- 53:06Speaker 8: a case of Budweiser, a pint of rot of raw ether,
- 53:11Speaker 8: and two dozen was it?
- 53:14Speaker 1: Animals?
- 53:15Speaker 9: Animals? Damn it? I got to the end.
- 53:17Speaker 1: That was a beautifully read.
- 53:19Speaker 2: The tone, the timbre of the voice. I was there.
- 53:24Speaker 9: That was audio incredible. Oh thank you? Don't do you
- 53:29Speaker 9: make me blush and stuff? Stop? Keep going.
- 53:36Speaker 7: I think the word the was in that.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Well, don't worry. Okay, you can put your heads together
- 53:47Speaker 1: on this, okay, And I'm glad that we've had this
- 53:50Speaker 1: time that we filled in with a little bits of
- 53:51Speaker 1: chat to help scramble your brain a little bit.
- 53:57Speaker 7: Oh man, oh man, good anywhere?
- 54:01Speaker 1: What a He was a wild guy, wasn't he?
- 54:03Speaker 2: What a guy?
- 54:05Speaker 9: I do know what he was doing? Man, he had
- 54:07Speaker 9: a plan, too many plans. This is my Thursday night,
- 54:14Speaker 9: Drugs and ship. There's a lot. That is a lot series.
- 54:23Speaker 1: It's a lot of stuff. It's a lot of stuff.
- 54:26Speaker 1: But are you ready to answer the questions about that stuff?
- 54:29Speaker 9: Yes? We got this argue.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Okay, your thirty seconds starts. Now what racing events are
- 54:37Speaker 1: the characters on their way to.
- 54:41Speaker 8: I was reading it, didn't you?
- 54:47Speaker 7: No?
- 54:48Speaker 1: It was the Mint four hundred. How many shields of
- 54:50Speaker 1: high power blotter acid did they have?
- 54:53Speaker 9: Nineteen?
- 54:55Speaker 1: No, it was five, I'm sorry. And what was special
- 54:58Speaker 1: about their hotel suite?
- 55:01Speaker 5: Yes?
- 55:01Speaker 1: It sound proof, good stuff.
- 55:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 55:04Speaker 8: I only know that because that's the only kind I request. Request, No,
- 55:12Speaker 8: I do request for raisins.
- 55:16Speaker 1: All right, there's there's a point before we dive into
- 55:19Speaker 1: those raisins. That is the end of round two. Let's
- 55:28Speaker 1: combine our collective white privilege of even being able to
- 55:31Speaker 1: broadcast this and use it to calculate the latest scores. Yep,
- 55:44Speaker 1: it was either that joke called the depressing statistics, So
- 55:46Speaker 1: I went with the joke. Okay, So poth heads of
- 55:52Speaker 1: pentecost are on eight points, Gorilla glue grinders are on
- 55:56Speaker 1: six points. I just watched Grape and it was the
- 55:59Speaker 1: funny yes thing ever, because.
- 56:02Speaker 2: I realized how bad they crunch fresh crunchy grapes that
- 56:08Speaker 2: just make a terrible sound.
- 56:11Speaker 9: It wasn't you were surprised.
- 56:16Speaker 1: That's boom Round three next, after these ads for Domino's
- 56:25Speaker 1: Jack in the box or wherever else you crazy stoners
- 56:28Speaker 1: satisfy your munchies back soon. Round three is called date leapers.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Get it because It's like the name for our podcast.
- 56:44Speaker 6: Ship.
- 56:44Speaker 1: This is our game of history for the insane, but
- 56:48Speaker 1: this time it's history for the real, really high, for
- 56:50Speaker 1: the real really high, is what I said. So in
- 56:57Speaker 1: this game, I will ask a question to our panel
- 57:00Speaker 1: where the answer is always a year in history. But
- 57:03Speaker 1: instead of taking each individual player's answer, our team's official
- 57:07Speaker 1: answers will be the midpoint between the two years given
- 57:10Speaker 1: by the individual team members. So if Adam says nineteen
- 57:15Speaker 1: fifty and Ordres says nineteen seventy, the answer they'd give
- 57:18Speaker 1: for their team is nineteen sixty. I hope all of
- 57:21Speaker 1: the maths is that easy.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Just to save myself time during the round, I have
- 57:27Speaker 2: found myself filling in the first two digits of five numbers.
- 57:33Speaker 1: What you've just written eighteen and nineteen, We're.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Just written nineteen nineteen, eighteen, twenty nineteen. Save myself time.
- 57:43Speaker 1: I'll just reten practice in those dates. You're wrong, Hey,
- 57:50Speaker 1: some of those are going to be in there. Some
- 57:52Speaker 1: of those are going to be in sure.
- 57:53Speaker 2: No, I can't take the easy, easy road.
- 57:57Speaker 1: The closest team gets the point, I'll high out bonus
- 58:00Speaker 1: points for any teams that get even closer or bang
- 58:04Speaker 1: on even because then that's just magic, two brains working together.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Here is your first question is for everyone, what year
- 58:12Speaker 1: was Reefer Madness released? What year was Reefer Madness released?
- 58:16Speaker 1: The anti cannabis film that characterized Potter's highly addictive and
- 58:22Speaker 1: a drug that caused extreme violence, so much violence, like
- 58:28Speaker 1: all the violence we're doing right now.
- 58:31Speaker 9: Like, oh, it's horrible, it's horrible.
- 58:32Speaker 2: I wrote down a number so fast, and I now
- 58:36Speaker 2: feeling so backtrack on it.
- 58:40Speaker 1: All right, So, Audro, what have you put for this?
- 58:43Speaker 2: I wrote nineteen sixty two, and then was.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Like nineteen sixty two, Adam, what did you put?
- 58:50Speaker 4: Nineteen thirty seven?
- 58:52Speaker 1: Nineteen thirty seven, So nineteen sixty two and nineteen thirty
- 58:55Speaker 1: seven with the power of Audra's.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Fun nineteen forty nine and a half, So.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Nineteen fifty is what we're going with that. Nineteen fifty
- 59:04Speaker 1: that seems pretty reasonable.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Okay, all right in the middle, Uh huh.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Gorilla glue grinders? H Well, what have you got, Steepe?
- 59:16Speaker 9: I'm sorry.
- 59:18Speaker 8: I thought it was like mad later than that, you know,
- 59:20Speaker 8: I thought it was like nineteen seventy six or so.
- 59:23Speaker 9: I was like it was the seventy.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Hey, nineteen seventy six is what you've got down. Yeah,
- 59:30Speaker 1: AD's Augie.
- 59:31Speaker 9: I mean you think that was bad?
- 59:33Speaker 7: Imagine Yeah, I get my face nineteen eighty three, I
- 59:40Speaker 7: like it.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Get how young you are?
- 59:44Speaker 1: Seven eighty, nineteen eighty, nineteen eighty and Aldre you can
- 59:48Speaker 1: just say them loud into the mic. It's okay that
- 59:50Speaker 1: you'll work in the mouth, just wis I'll just whisper
- 59:53Speaker 1: them to you. The listeners can't know.
- 59:57Speaker 4: I must never know the average.
- 59:59Speaker 1: So we've got nineteen fifty versus nineteen eighty. The correct
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: answer when Reef for Madness was released was nineteen thirty six,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: so Adam was one year off with his pulling the
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: answer away to just equal one point for being the closest.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: But Adam, holy shit, you must have had some thought. Yeah,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: you should.
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: Get you point for that.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: He doesn't because I thought it was nineteen sixty two.
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: Oh, you guys were in the range.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Dragging my dragging my team down.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry, that's just that's just the way it's
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: gotta be. The thing I like about your answer, Stevie
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: and Ogi is that it's the idea that that Reagan
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: would have done another version of it. Of like he
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: would have brought it back and been like, all right,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: remember how reefer madness worked and it scared everyone, Let's
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: do that again.
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: I could believe it.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I mean, what is the program? Oh? Oh good stuff?
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: All right, here is your next question. The answer is
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: a eight. Write that date down. What year did Colorado
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: and Washington legalize recreational marijuana for the first two states
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: in the Union to do so, following the passage of
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Amendment sixty four and Initiative five oh two.
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: You have that memorized that?
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: No, I got it written down here.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: You actually do need to memorize it to get your
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: weed card in Colorado.
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: That's my stuff.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Con seeing once you start smoking, you ain't gonna remember
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: that ship.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: All right, all right, we all got some numbers written
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: down for this.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: Yeah, go for it. I'm just like no, I'm just
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: like no, I'm just listening, enjoying the show.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Guy.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Yeah, really already had like a history examine while this
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: high before.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: No.
- 1:01:51Speaker 8: Well, fun fact, everybody, I fail history four times in
- 1:01:59Speaker 8: high school, like I. The only reason I didn't graduate
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: early like I would, I wouldn't even had to go
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: my senior year was because I kept failing history. Remember,
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: and my memory has always been horrible.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I brought out the history unbelievable.
- 1:02:13Speaker 9: Okay, yeah, and I'm just like numbers awesome.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: All right, Well with that, Stevie, what have you got
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: for this one?
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: What were we doing.
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: Washington?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: When when did they legalize recreational marijuana?
- 1:02:31Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I'm going to say.
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: I was gone sometimes I don't know. I'll say two
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: thousand and four. I have no idea.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Good stuff.
- 1:02:44Speaker 9: See he'said good stuff.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Hey, it's got to be the right century, right right?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: I was thinking, okay, what have you got for this one?
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: I wrote down nineteen fifty I love you so much.
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: That is awesome.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: That's incredible, Uldra, what's the average there?
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Nineteen seventy eight?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Nineteen seventy eight. What a world we'd live in if
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: that were the case.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Oh, my parents never would have left Colorado for a while.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell I was thinking.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I love it so much. Okay, potheads of pentecost Adam,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: what have you got for this one? Twenty twelve, twenty twelve,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: and Uldra twenty thirteen, twenty thirteen. I've got to round up,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: so that rounds up to twenty thirteen. It is twenty twelve. Dang,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: but I'm gonna give you two points because it is
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: just so even your average is one off.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: It was a big year for me personally.
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: I was like, I knew I was I.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Knew I wasn't living here, but I knew I was
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: still a resident, but I wasn't living here.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: No, that was the year I graduated high school. I
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: was still a good Christian boy. We just went to
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Colorado a.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: Lot, and I remember being astonished by all of the
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: weed stuff and being like, alcohol isn't really my thing,
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: Like it's not I'm gonna try this stuff out.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: Don't look Jesus.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Oh, he would have enjoyed a blunt let's face it.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know he was.
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: Growing that stuff the minute he got out of that manger.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Man, Oh, big time, big time. Okay, let's let's have
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: another question, right, Let's let's get some more years down here.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: It is what is the earliest known written reference to
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: the use of cannabis as a medicine? So that should
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: be when When is the earliest known written reference to
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: the use of cannabis as a medicine?
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: For real? Okay, now I see what you an error
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: or buddy, Okay, this like oh yeah, let's go Like, yeah, I'm.
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: About a number in my head.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: I'm might happy.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Right, here's the thing. It's about who's closest. Once the
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: averages happened, so anything can happen, right, It's true.
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: I think you like can happen with this one. Who's
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: going first?
- 1:05:23Speaker 11: Is what was the limit?
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Again?
- 1:05:26Speaker 9: There's a limit, I hope so because if there is,
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: then like a rage.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're just purely the closest, then you'll get
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: it like you could like you could say any.
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: Year in history, literally any year in history, any.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Year in history. All right, I mean that's that's your
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: call to make. I'm I'm gonna start with and pentecost Adam,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: what have you got for this one?
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: Sixteen hundred BC?
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Sixteen hundred BC with a gasp from ultra Wait, maybe
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I'm as crazy as said I.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Went like t lef era, like when we discovered t
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: uh huh.
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: And but I did.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I do think I wrote it with the wrong I
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: think I met three hundred CE, but I wrote BCE.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: So it's going to have to be BCE.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Okay, So we've got sixteen hundred BC and three hundred BC,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: I wrote b C. Yeah, that's that's fine, though it
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: doesn't average.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: They andrew where the potheads of Pentecost, We don't include
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: the E and the C stands for Christ.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: I thought there was something wrong with the way Uldra
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: wrote that, as a good Pentacosta kid, our average would
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: be six hundred and fifty six hundred and fifty BC.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I like it six hundred and fifty CE. No, because
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: you were both BC.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: I see what's happened here. At one point in time
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: in our lives, they changed it's A D and B
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: C uh huh, which is what I think people are
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: going off of. Then at one point in time, the
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: little documentary nerd in me, they changed it to BCE
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: and CE.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: But CE is air D right, yeah, and you put BC.
- 1:07:22Speaker 14: No, no, no, man, it's a C D C.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Ship of course people put BCE though, which is the
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: same as what BC.
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: Used to be.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, yes, Now hang on, so I think six
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: hundred and fifty BC. Oh wait, it would be further BC.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Because you were going before Christ and I was going
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: before common era.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: But that's both the same thing. If we translate that
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: from metric to imperial fifty nine to fifty BC.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Like it?
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Okay, Now, gorilla gluegrinders had a long time to think
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: about about their access. So okay, what have you got
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: for this one?
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: Holy fuck that number, dude, twenty thousand.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: BC, twenty thousand BC. I love it. I'm going for it, Steve, Stevie,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: have you by any chance gone with it? Hasn't happened
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: yet and it's sort of eighteen thousand years in the future.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: What have you got?
- 1:08:25Speaker 9: I'm trying to guess over so far upder to bring
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: out everything forty one, I'm trying to do the man's
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: ad eighteen thousand PC, twenty thousand, twenty twenty thousand, Yeah,
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: what are you going to say?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Stevie?
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: Can I go future?
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Go into the future? I don't. I don't think you can.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Because of the name of the game. I think that
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: I will let you argue. Twenty twenty four is the
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: first time that.
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: That's I will take twenty twenty.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Because that is the.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, please? So what does that? What does that
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: give us?
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: This is eight thousand, nine hundred and eighty eight, before
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: the Common Era or before christ depending on what you believe,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: depending depending on the nomenclature.
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: Yeah, eighty eight how are we doing by some dude's birthday?
- 1:09:23Speaker 8: Like measuring stuff by some dude? Like, seriously, have we
- 1:09:26Speaker 8: gotten past that by now?
- 1:09:27Speaker 9: Let's start off right.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: You're one common era before the common era.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I just miss a d so much. I'm a Latin slave.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Okay, I'm with you there.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: It just sounds sounds it does so nine hundred and
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: fifty BC versus eight thousand, eight hundred and eighty six
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: or something around about there BC. Look, the one point
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: is going to go to the Pentecost for being close up.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: But you're not actually as far off as as you
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: would think. It's a twenty eight hundred BC in ancient China,
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: in Emperor Shen Yung's pharma copia. Yeah, early Chinese medicine
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: was the first written reference. I'm sure it was used
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: for medicine by anyone who was walking around in twenty
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: thousand BC.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, just no one wrote it down.
- 1:10:22Speaker 9: You might not have known exactly writ down, but they
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: wrote it down. They had a catalog.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Kettle, yeah, or a pharma copia a word that I
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: learned this week. Okay, next question, what year did Pink
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Floyd release Dark Side of the Moon.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Come, just a classic pub quiz question. This one if
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you if you were at like a normal bar trivia
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: night instead of whatever the hell this is them? This
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: is the kind of question you'd get Why I.
- 1:10:56Speaker 9: Don't go to those things? They scare me. Best questions
- 1:10:59Speaker 9: I don't know answers to see it. It was just like,
- 1:11:03Speaker 9: yeah it is. I'm need more weed. I'm getting anxious.
- 1:11:10Speaker 9: I'm starting to feel like I'm beingquised. Oh I got
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: he's a quizzed.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna fail my exams.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: I did study.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: It got high.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Hey, that's that's valids. That's valid. Yea, So has everyone
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: got a yeah? Written down?
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: I do?
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Okay, Stevie, what have you got for this one?
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: Nineteen sixty nine?
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Dude, nineteen sixty nine. It's a funny number it is.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: That's a nice that's a pretty nice pit.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Oggie, what have you got for this one? Nineteen seventy nine,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: nineteen seventy nine?
- 1:11:50Speaker 10: What is that?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: It's the average? Seventy four seventeen, nineteen seventy four. Awesome,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: that's a pretty good average. Okay, and Odra, what have
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: you got for this one?
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: I wrote? Nineteen seventy four, nineteen.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Seventy four, I was shoot and Adam nineteen sixteen, nineteen.
- 1:12:15Speaker 9: Yeah, we all win.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Nineteen seventy two becomes the average of the potheads of
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Pentecost all in the same region nineteen seventy two nineteen
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: seventy four. Of course, the answer is nineteen seventy three,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: two points to each team.
- 1:12:35Speaker 8: I think, oh yeah, great jo everybody, Yeah, God, very incredible,
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: good knowledge, good everybody.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: In fact, if you combine the two teams scores and
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: get the average between them, you actually get the correct answer.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: So as a collective, you would have got like five points.
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: What do it?
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Mark it down?
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: Yeah, come on, we're all stone.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: What I'm gonna do is, yeah, because I kind of
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: for people on Patreon, I kind of map this out,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: just like classic, each side of the piece of paper.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: So I'm going to put five points right in the
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: middle that belonged to both teams. Yeah kind of thing.
- 1:13:16Speaker 8: Oh man, I wish I wish I could transport these
- 1:13:19Speaker 8: little butterfingers crandies to you guys.
- 1:13:21Speaker 9: Right now, man, like you want to hang out.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: On here.
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: No no, no, no, that's podcast Devil Tree can't do that.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: We've not been granted those powers yet. Okay, I got
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: one final question, here. It is a bit silly, this one,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: just a little bit silly. So space is trippy, right, guys,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Space is pretty trippy. But according to science, when did
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: the Big Bang take place?
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Okay, brain turned off and then back on again.
- 1:13:59Speaker 9: We're rebooting, reboot?
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: How long ago was that big old bang? Adam? What
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: have you got for this one?
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Eight point two billion years ago?
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: Abe?
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I think we can dispense with the comedy as when
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: we're in factice billions.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: But I'm too high and holy for that.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: So that was eight point six y two?
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: Was that eight point two?
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Eight point two? Eight point two order?
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: What have you got?
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: Bro?
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: Fourteen trillion?
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Oh so we went into the trillions there? Okay, yeah,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: eight point two billion, fourteen trillion. That's going to be
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: tough to work out the midpoint of, but I'd wager
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: it's somewhere in the seventy or six trillions.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Make say that any mistakes of mine are due to
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: my in tux vacation, because that will be true. So fourteen,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: like putting a comma means like average these two numbers,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: So I can't even put place markers.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna say six point five trillion.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's probably fine, Yeah, you know.
- 1:15:13Speaker 9: What, we're all in consensus there, Stevie.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: What have you got for this one?
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: I've put two hundred and fifty million years ago.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Two hundred and fifty million years ago, I did a million.
- 1:15:23Speaker 9: It gives you rain.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: That's why we're at the millions at the moment. Okay,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: what did you put?
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: I on A big bang? You know I went to college. Oh,
- 1:15:33Speaker 9: big bang. That's just a creative everything, not the killing
- 1:15:36Speaker 9: of the dinosaurs. Oops.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, Stevie, if this was the meteo
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: that took out the dinosaurs, I think you'd be off
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: the top of my dome. I think you'd be pretty
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: much spot on.
- 1:15:50Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's pretty closely. Dang it, I was, man,
- 1:15:53Speaker 9: I went to the wrong freaking museum.
- 1:15:54Speaker 14: Man.
- 1:15:59Speaker 9: Anyways, I think it's a forty one trillion.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Forty one trillion. I think again, just like with the
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: last one, we've got to go like and say, twenty
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: couple twenty trillion is your average?
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: Okay, when you're.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Dealing with trillions, you can probably just pretty much take
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: the average between zero and that number.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: It's not up to Yeah, I've been very generous with
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: the averages to bring them down, So we got we
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: got six point five trillion versus twenty trillion is where
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: we're at. Look it's it's in the billions. It's thirteen
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: point eight two billion years ago, but technically fourteen trillion
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: is closer. So I've got to give a point to
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the pentecost even though it's so far away from the
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: correct answer.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: I honor what I write down first because I have
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: written it down, and then like it was like, okay,
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: I'm locked in. But I then looked at it and
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: I was like, I think that's fourteen billion, not a
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: fourteen trillion.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Stem Yeah, thirteen point eight two rounds up to fourteen,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: So I buy it's just the weed.
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:17:09Speaker 9: Yeah, we're all handicapped right now, massively.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: So okay, Jesus, that is the end of round three.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Let's weigh out the latest scores. Look, gorilla glue grinders.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. You're on eight points.
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: Oh, I'm happy with it.
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: We got we got eight points, dude, Well we're on
- 1:17:29Speaker 7: eight points, but we got a ninth point comment.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. That one's in
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: the post. Sorry the mail.
- 1:17:45Speaker 9: Behind it.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I don't really mean. Well, I love this country, and
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I actually use a lot of these words in day
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: to day life.
- 1:17:54Speaker 8: Wow, that's all because if he says anything wrong, one
- 1:17:57Speaker 8: of us will call on.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I say, I say male, I say trash, I say
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: these words. Okay, but yeah, potheads of the Pentecost, you're
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: on fifteen points. Oh and we do still have those
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: five points out in the ether that belong to everyone.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: This is the weirdest episode yet. Up next is the
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: quick Fire Around, but first, let's talk prizes. This episode,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: star prize is the concept of being chill. It's something
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I literally never would be if it wasn't for Mary Jane.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: She's such a nice lady. She sells us weed.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: But our winning team will also receive all the keith
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: in the bottom of my oldest grinder.
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: There we go.
- 1:18:56Speaker 9: Yeah, you never know that, really do.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: Up next is our final quick fire around, But first
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: we must play one final set of ads. Don't worry,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: you're so high right now that you won't even remember
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: the product. Take that chumper casino. Our final quick fire
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: around will test your broader pop culture knowledge and it's
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: called Hall of Fame blunt rotation. In this game, I
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: will give our players clues to a famous stoner from
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: pop culture history. They'll start out as real people but
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: then turn into more fictional characters, so it's it's real
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: and fictional stoners. Those clues will be in the style
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: of strains that they would sell at their dispensary. Okay,
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: so the strains the strains they're selling a clues to
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: to who they might be. And there is and there is,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: of course of class. There is of course a classic
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Gates Leapers twist. You need to take a couple of
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: puffs and then say you want to hit this, and
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: then the name of your your person who you think
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: the answer to the clues is. So it's like you're
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: passing it along to that person. You can say whatever
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: you want as long as you're passing it, passing the
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: blunt on the left hand side to the person of choice.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: Gotcha, I can do this.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: It's quick fire, so buzz in by yelling out your
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: team name. Let's practice that. Now you can say triple G.
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: That's gonna be okay. Then just got instantly dry. I
- 1:20:43Speaker 9: want all the just this is going to be good. Yeah,
- 1:20:48Speaker 9: Hydra pives.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Whatever you want to shout out, I've already forgotten what
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: you did.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Shout out, I shouted Pentecost, just like a childhood Yeah,
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: it's all right, you guys can take your time.
- 1:21:01Speaker 9: We're not going to be.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: This is gonna be the slowest quick fire around we've
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: ever played. Everyone takes everyone, take your time. No one
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: feels rushed up, Annic. I'm just gonna list off, strange,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: have a good time. So I'll give you an example
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: example question good neighbor, super bad o G, Pineapple Express.
- 1:21:28Speaker 9: Triple G.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Yes, Stevie, Seth, that would be that is Seth Rogan.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: But you've also got to pass the past the dobe.
- 1:21:38Speaker 9: I needed to get out of Augie's hand for Yeah.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so as long as you do say that, you
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: get the point. But it absolutely.
- 1:21:47Speaker 9: Let me let me get this.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's actually Stevie. That's a that's a better line. Like, hey,
