Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to Pamoja Ministry. In this new chapter,
- 0:03we discuss the need for true worshipers, not
- 0:06performers. This isn't criticism for noise's
- 0:09sake. It's a call back to God's presence. I want
- 0:13to speak honestly about worship in the church
- 0:15today. Too often, what we are exposed to is performance,
- 0:21not worship. And that often saddens me. Jesus
- 0:25said, the time is coming and now is here. when
- 0:29the true worshipers will worship the Father in
- 0:32spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking
- 0:35such people to worship Him." John 4 23. To be
- 0:40a true worshiper, you must first be a worshiper
- 0:43yourself. Those who lead others in worship must
- 0:46first be carriers of God's presence, not just
- 0:49singers, not just musicians. All singers are
- 0:54not worshippers. A beautiful voice is not a qualification
- 0:58for worship. Talent is not evidence of intimacy
- 1:03with God. A true worshiper is someone who has
- 1:06a personal, intimate relationship with God through
- 1:10the Holy Spirit. What we often see today is a
- 1:13polished performance filled with empty presence.
- 1:17As a result, people may lead songs, but they
- 1:20do not lead the congregation into God's presence.
- 1:23You can only give what you have. God's presence
- 1:27is contagious, but so is emptiness. This is why
- 1:32people are often amazed by group performances
- 1:34and mistakenly confuse emotional impact with
- 1:38the presence of God. When worship becomes a routine,
- 1:43a performance, or a moment to be seen, focused
- 1:47on appearance, presentation, or image, It no
- 1:51longer communicates God's presence. It communicates
- 1:55emptiness. No matter how polished the performance,
- 1:59how electric the atmosphere, or how creative
- 2:02the lights and colors may be, if God is not present,
- 2:07heaven does not recognize it as worship. From
- 2:10heaven's perspective, the service is not celebrated.
- 2:14It is suspended. A true worshiper is someone
- 2:18who dwells in God's presence, is filled with
- 2:22the Holy Spirit, walks in the fear of the Lord,
- 2:26lives sanctified and washed by the blood of Jesus,
- 2:30is hungry for God daily, seeks not visitation,
- 2:34but abiding above all, a true worshiper understands
- 2:38his truth. Leading others into God's presence
- 2:41is not a platform, it is a service. Yes, a sacerdotal
- 2:47service. You see, worship draws us close to God,
- 2:51but a disciplined and intentional daily life,
- 2:54rooted in a sanctified life in Christ, is what
- 2:58keeps us abiding, dwelling in His presence. God
- 3:02entrusts you with His people. That is a holy
- 3:06responsibility. Let us all become true worshipers
- 3:09ourselves. Because worship is not only at church,
- 3:13it is in family prayer, in gatherings with friends,
- 3:17in quiet moments alone with God. Before we ask
- 3:21for a microphone, let us ask for His presence.
- 3:25Before we lead songs, let us be led by the Holy
- 3:28Spirit. God is not looking for perfection. He
- 3:33is seeking presence. May we return to the secret
- 3:36place. May we dwell before we declare. May we
- 3:41carry what heaven releases. And may everything
- 3:44we call worship begin with a heart that truly
- 3:47worships Him. Let us be true worshipers at all
- 3:51times.
