Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguars fans welcome in to do vault daily prison by jing Jack dot com i'm Jordan aluga Thanks so much for being here Thursday April 2 right now.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about something that Maybe we should have been worried about focused on talking about a little bit more but quite frankly I just didn't have the information I had until Earlier today when yes fans Mike de Rocco who does a great job covering the Jaguars Great guy
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: talked about Colvan Lannons injury situation.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Talked about it in a way that I personally hadn't heard yet, so definitely interesting.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: We're just gonna dive into it.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't really had a lot of time to digest it all, so we're just gonna talk through it together.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Excited to do it.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.

- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm wearing right now.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: And also hit that hype button on YouTube, helps out a ton.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, Deerock joined 1010 XL's Jag Wars today.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: and was talking about Colvin Lannon's injury, and they talked about it a couple of times, but essentially what he said was, it's assumed, and the buzz is, that Colvin Lannon tore his ACL.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: at the end of the season.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: We knew he or injured himself at the end of the season.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: We knew that he missed the Jaguars wild card round loss to the bills and you know, had he played in that game?
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe things would have been a little bit, I mean, it was a very close game.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Cole VanLandon was healthy for that game, maybe he would have been a little bit different.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Having him out there instead of walker little, but assumed ACL and Deerock said he did
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, do you rock didn't 100% say like this was a torn ACL?
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't think he has that information like concrete, but that's kind of like the assumption.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: The belief is that he tore his ACL.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you tore your ACL at the end of December, early January, are you gonna be ready for the start of the regular season?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of my thought process there.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're not,
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: which to me, that is a really big deal.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars were a winning football team with Walker Little at left tackle, but against the better past rushes in the league, I was terrified when he was out there.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: He almost single-handedly lost the Jaguars there, their game to the Texans that they lost.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: His play against Daniel Hunter was a trushist.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: don't hear what I'm not saying.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying he's a good starter.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying he's a good back up.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: He looked like a good starter before 2025.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's why the Jaguar signed him to a deal.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, that wasn't this regime that was turning bulky in company signing him to a new contract.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I guess my thought is just like, if you, if you're the Jaguars and Colby and Landon Torres ACL, and you know he's not going to be ready for the start of the regular season, which I guess theoretically it's possible if you have a surgery immediately early to mid January, could you be ready for a September?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's a quick turnaround, it's not an impossible turnaround, it's a quick turnaround.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so again, I'm not saying he tore his ACL.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: What I am saying is, DRock said, it's assumed that he tore his ACL and they did have surgery after the season.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, that's tough build as well though.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of like, all right, well, are you okay with just starting Walker little while you wait?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: Potentially to move Anton Harris and the left tackle last year before Anton dealt with injury.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, okay, could Anton be moved back to left tackle, which he did play left tackle in college?
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely can do that.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's been practicing mostly right tackle for the last three years, but Anton could do that if you need to, and I would feel much more confident with Anton at left tackle than
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: Walker little at left tackle, but then you're talking about putting Walker little at right tackle potentially if Colvane landed is missing time.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the difference in the Jaguars offense between when Walker little was on the field versus Colvane landed, it was a massive golf like the Jaguars offense was so much better with Colvane landed on the field.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: so so much better.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon, look, got career journeymen, and I say that.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's really been in Jacksonville most of his career, but after by the Packers in the 6 round, Packers were ready to get rid of them.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: They were going to release him because they had so much offensive lined up.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar sent the trade their way, and he's been with the Jaguars ever since.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: That was back in 2022, but he played his butt off for the Jaguars.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: especially I mean at left tackle he had to play all year he was doing different things moving around like last year for the jacks he played right tackle right guard left guard and left tackle but his best day by far was at left tackle after he got that starting job and he played so well that the jack was signed with two new contract
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's how good he played down the stretch for the jacks.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was lights out as a pass protector and really good as a run blocker.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas Walker little, I mean, before he went down, he was on pace to lead the league and pressure is allowed at the left tackle position and maybe across the entire offensive line for the entire NFL.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Are you good with if you have to starting Walker little and Anton obviously you're not going out and signing someone that's better than Walker little that's not going to happen I don't think you're going to make a trade just because Colve and Landon might miss some time.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: But could you draft somebody they could maybe
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, let's say, COVID-19 has to start the season on IR.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: You bring him back after a month, whatever.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is all just kind of like hypothetical because we don't know.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: But if you have to roll out Walker Little, the first, however many games of the season, how comfortable are you with that?
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to push?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: I've been wanting the Jaguar's to draft somebody to play guard slash tackle.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like somebody who probably has that versatility for a while now anyways.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: But now like could that conversation be pushed further ahead.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like that could be a real priority in my opinion.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Cause I don't think you just want to hand it to walk our little, the ability to go on.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you want him to at least earn it.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I've been talking about forever, a cage case, he makes a ton of sense.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, maybe the Northwestern kid, Tyrannin makes sense even earlier.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Blake Miller's gonna be anywhere within striking distance for the Jaguar's out of Climpson.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's on a state kid's gonna be anywhere in striking distance, but,
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not handing Walker a little, a starting job, if Colvin and Lannan has to miss time.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not doing that.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever it is, and look, I'm not the competition at Tomba Doga, either.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm just even more of the mind that offensive line should always be a priority.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you just have an all-star team of offensive linemen and incredible depth, it should always be a priority.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: But especially now that Colvand Landon maybe is recovering from a torn ACL surgery.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: I did not know that until today, or I did not know that that was like assumed until today.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: That Colvand Landon towards ACL.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: is getting somebody who can compete with Walker Little.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: At least make Walker Little earn the right to get in there and play for Cole Van Lannon.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think Cage Casey could do that.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: All the guys we mentioned so far.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's some other guys out there that could do that as well.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they want Milo Matt Tackle.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna find out, fascinating.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comment section below about this news.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, do you call it news?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, the Iraq's talking about it.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's very credible, great reporter, great beat writer, but he's not like exactly confirming it either.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Again, let me know what you think in the comment section below.
