Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
• 0:18
Speaker 1: the Premier League. I'm Sam from fr Family Black Box.
• 0:22
Speaker 1: Oh As, back to back blanks for Earlin Harlan. It's
• 0:26
Speaker 1: not often that we see that, assuming that you captained
• 0:28
Speaker 1: in two I did.
• 0:30
Speaker 2: Indeed, typical, isn't it. I know there were lots of
• 0:33
Speaker 2: people running with no Harlan. Teams ripped their teams apart
• 0:36
Speaker 2: to bring him in off his back to back hat
• 0:38
Speaker 2: tricks and then it's back to back blanks.
• 0:41
Speaker 3: That is fpo and nutshell, isn't it.
• 0:43
Speaker 1: It feels like it this year as well, doesn't it?
• 0:45
Speaker 1: Like the chasing the premium points and knowing I'll have
• 0:48
Speaker 1: to have this one this week and this week of
• 0:50
Speaker 1: course going into it, everyone was all aboard the Earlin
• 0:53
Speaker 1: Harlan train, a lot of people thinking about sacrificing Saker
• 0:56
Speaker 1: to bring in Cole Palmer. Massive swings again again with
• 1:00
Speaker 1: those premiums in terms of the points that they returned.
• 1:03
Speaker 1: Was Game week seven a good one for you? Yeah?
• 1:05
Speaker 3: It was pretty good.
• 1:06
Speaker 2: I mean I think if you had soccer, you probably
• 1:09
Speaker 2: ended up with maybe a small green arrow. He was
• 1:11
Speaker 2: obviously the standout performer and a lot of the other
• 1:14
Speaker 2: big name players that you mentioned didn't do so well.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: Salah didn't return, parland Sons obviously injured. Palmer got the
• 1:21
Speaker 2: assist and a couple of bonus but not a massive
• 1:22
Speaker 2: score for him, so it was kind of the soccer
• 1:25
Speaker 2: show and then a few extra little the old goal
• 1:29
Speaker 2: and the aud see is kind of sprinkled around. So
• 1:30
Speaker 2: fifty six points to me, greed are up to five
• 1:33
  Speaker 2: hundred k. Nice.
• 1:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm chipping away.
• 1:36
  Speaker 2: I haven't had a one massive week yet, but it's
• 1:38
Speaker 2: been a decent start to the season, how about you.
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, good one for me as well. Fifty four was
• 1:43
Speaker 1: a really nice green hour, up about four hundred k.
• 1:46
Speaker 1: So just sitting on the million marker now, which is
• 1:49
Speaker 1: the highest that I've been so far this season. So
• 1:51
Speaker 1: whilst I don't pay too much attention at this point
• 1:53
Speaker 1: to the overall rank, it does when you start to
• 1:56
Speaker 1: chip away big chunks of ranking. It starts to feel
• 1:59
Speaker 1: like a nice pro says, doesn't it. And Yeah, like
• 2:01
Speaker 1: you say, some disappointing returns, like going into Sunday, I
• 2:05
Speaker 1: was thinking, oh, this is going to be great, Like
• 2:07
Speaker 1: I've got four decent players again, I've got Olie Watkins
• 2:11
Speaker 1: and Rogers. I've got some lanky and Porra. I was like, oh,
• 2:14
Speaker 1: this could be a repeat of last Sunday and game
• 2:16
Speaker 1: week six where they all banged and I was like,
• 2:18
Speaker 1: this is great. We'll talk about the Eston Phillip boys later.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: But they were a big disappointment for me because I
• 2:24
Speaker 1: was expecting a lot more. But Trent and Jotta and
• 2:27
Speaker 1: my two Liverpool assets, both of them performing really nicely.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: Obviously the goal for Jotta Trent picking up the clean
• 2:33
Speaker 1: sheet and a couple of bonus points, which when you're
• 2:35
Speaker 1: in mini leagues with people that have got Robertson, that
• 2:39
Speaker 1: was a big swinger this week. Obviously missing out absolutely
• 2:43
Speaker 1: because I was really worried about dsen Sala this week,
• 2:46
Speaker 1: so having not had them and had Jotter actually for
• 2:51
Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks, it's gone in my favor,
• 2:53
Speaker 1: but it could so easily have gone the other way,
• 2:55
Speaker 1: as it did in the early weeks of the season.
• 2:57
Speaker 3: So yeah, skirting of us gotting over Spurs Broughton.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: No, we'll get to that. We'll get to that. We'll
• 3:04
Speaker 1: get to that, we'll spend We'll spend probably a disproportionate
• 3:07
Speaker 1: amount of time with me really the.
• 3:08
Speaker 2: Whole podcast on that game, and that would be that'd
• 3:10
  Speaker 2: be great.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: I mean, I'm surprised we've got to this point without you,
• 3:16
Speaker 1: but you weren't giving me anything, of course not. I
• 3:19
Speaker 1: was thinking how long can I go without mentioning the
• 3:21
Speaker 1: Spurs again, because of course it was the Ads versus
• 3:24
Speaker 1: Sam Derby this weekend. Shall we start there as let's
• 3:26
Speaker 1: let's rip the band laid off because the first half
• 3:30
Speaker 1: and we were messaging each other. Well, actually I was
• 3:33
Speaker 1: not getting involved in the messaging. You were messaging with Lee.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: Yeah you were, you were, you were being quite nice
• 3:37
Speaker 2: in the first half, and then the second half you
• 3:39
Speaker 2: were just just sad.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: I was. I was absent with my silence in the
• 3:43
Speaker 1: second half because the first half Spurs paid really well.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: We came out on form again. Brennan Johnson six and
• 3:50
Speaker 1: six now for him actually probably should have been seven
• 3:54
Speaker 1: in six because right at the beginning that teamo verner
• 3:57
Speaker 1: opportunity within like the first two minutes, I was thinking
• 3:59
Speaker 1: we were doing a Brentford scoring early on in the game.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: Played really well in that first half. After that, though,
• 4:07
Speaker 1: the second half it was like a totally different game.
• 4:10
Speaker 1: The whole thing changed in terms of Spurs looked very complacent.
• 4:13
Speaker 1: I don't think though the performance from either side has
• 4:17
Speaker 1: changed my views from an FPL perspective. I still think
• 4:21
Speaker 1: that there are good players to choose from both of
• 4:25
Speaker 1: those teams. I think the only difference maybe is that
• 4:28
Speaker 1: the Brighton pictures aren't quite as nice as the Spurs
• 4:31
Speaker 1: ones for the next few weeks. But from game week twelve,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: Bryan's fixtures look really, really nice. So let's start with
• 4:38
Speaker 1: Brennan Johnson and then we'll do a whole thing on
• 4:40
Speaker 1: Brighton and the comeback, because I know you'll be waiting
• 4:43
Speaker 1: for that one. But there's twenty one shots in the
• 4:45
Speaker 1: box now joint with most SALA for midfielders for Brennan
• 4:50
Speaker 1: Johnson this season. He's just found the form of his life,
• 4:52
Speaker 1: hasn't he And I'm starting to think he might feel
• 4:57
Speaker 1: And I don't think you can ever really say a
• 4:59
Speaker 1: six point five minute player is essential, but when they're
• 5:01
Speaker 1: in this run of form, it feels a bit naive
• 5:05
Speaker 1: not to get him at the moment.
• 5:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean I could have got him this week,
• 5:10
Speaker 2: but I went for Selankey instead up top and I
• 5:12
Speaker 2: was watching that game and seeing Slanky drop a bit deeper,
• 5:15
Speaker 2: you know, and linking up play, which which he does
• 5:17
Speaker 2: very well, yeah, but not really getting involved in too
• 5:20
Speaker 2: much of the of the action. And then you see
• 5:23
Speaker 2: how involved Werner and Johnson were and I'm wondering if
• 5:28
Speaker 2: that was maybe a bit of an oversight, given that
• 5:29
Speaker 2: Johnson is you know, a million and a bit cheaper
• 5:32
Speaker 2: than Selanky and six in six goals for him, He's
• 5:35
Speaker 2: become such a key part of other side. And this
• 5:38
Speaker 2: isn't new information either, Like we he was becoming this
• 5:42
Speaker 2: kind of player last season as well as underlying stats
• 5:44
Speaker 2: were brilliant. He massively underperformed on his exgi last season.
• 5:48
Speaker 2: And I think we were talking at the start and saying,
• 5:50
Speaker 2: if he can actually you know, make good on that,
• 5:52
Speaker 2: he could be a really good option for us, and
• 5:55
Speaker 2: he is, like, he just is already a good option.
• 5:57
Speaker 2: And if I'm looking at you know, it changed each
• 6:00
Speaker 2: week because he does so much to n FBL, But
• 6:01
Speaker 2: if I'm looking at which spurs plays to buy at
• 6:03
Speaker 2: the moment, I think Johnson's got to be top of
• 6:05
Speaker 2: the list, doesn't he?
• 6:05
Speaker 1: Yeah? I think so. I mean, I'm miss Lankiona like you,
• 6:08
Speaker 1: and I've had him for a couple of weeks now
• 6:09
Speaker 1: and I'm still really pleased to have him. He was
• 6:11
Speaker 1: top for expected assists across this game and I still
• 6:13
Speaker 1: think looks like a decent I think the position that
• 6:15
Speaker 1: he took in this game was slightly different to the
• 6:18
Speaker 1: one he took last week, and I think in part
• 6:20
Speaker 1: that was due to the way that Spurs played in
• 6:23
Speaker 1: the first half, in the way that Werner was attacking.
• 6:25
Speaker 1: And I suspect when Sun's back, which will hopefully be
• 6:28
Speaker 1: after the international break, we will see a bit more
• 6:30
Speaker 1: of the traditional SLANKI where he was up top again
• 6:33
Speaker 1: and in the second half, I think he was having
• 6:35
Speaker 1: to drop deeper just to try to get involved because
• 6:37
Speaker 1: Spurs just fell off a cliff. But Brennan Johnson is
• 6:41
Speaker 1: in the form of his life, and I think when
• 6:43
Speaker 1: you're last season, we had Cole Palmer in that cheap
• 6:47
Speaker 1: bracket and he was consistent throughout the whole season in
• 6:51
Speaker 1: a fantastic own for all of us as FPR managers,
• 6:54
Speaker 1: and it got to the point where basically everyone had
• 6:56
Speaker 1: him and you could not have him. Brennan Johnson's not
• 6:59
Speaker 1: there yet in terms of like, oh, you have to
• 7:02
Speaker 1: have him, But I do think that when you look
• 7:04
Speaker 1: at the Spurs fixtures that they have coming up over
• 7:06
Speaker 1: the next few weeks. I mean, if you roll the
• 7:08
Speaker 1: ticker right the way through to game week nineteen, only
• 7:10
Speaker 1: Wolves have a better run of fixtures than Spurs do.
• 7:14
Speaker 1: And game week nineteen I picked because that's when the
• 7:16
Speaker 1: second World card window opens, So when you're looking for
• 7:19
Speaker 1: fixtures that could do well, I mean it's west Ham
• 7:22
Speaker 1: up next, and after the international break then it's Pallace
• 7:25
Speaker 1: Villa Ipswich. The gaminggains Man City in twelve obviously looks difficult,
• 7:28
Speaker 1: but we do have a fantastic record against them post
• 7:31
Speaker 1: that full and born with Chelsea Southampton. There's definitely goals
• 7:35
Speaker 1: in that game for Brennan and the way that we
• 7:37
Speaker 1: are playing. We've seen a move in Spurs in the
• 7:41
Speaker 1: last few weeks from being last season all of the
• 7:44
Speaker 1: chances pretty much all the majority anyway coming down the
• 7:47
Speaker 1: left hand side. This season they're coming down the right
• 7:50
Speaker 1: where Brennan is, so you're going to find yourself in
• 7:53
Speaker 1: a position where a sister there. But also the goal
• 7:56
Speaker 1: threat is increasing again a bit like we used to
• 7:58
Speaker 1: see with him at Nottingham Forest. So what's not to like? Really?
• 8:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess he's kind of falling in that kind
• 8:04
Speaker 2: of six five seven is bracket, which in previous seasons
• 8:08
Speaker 2: we've had two or three options probably probably around that
• 8:12
Speaker 2: in our teams horas this year because we've got so
• 8:14
Speaker 2: many options under six million, you know, Sameno, Rogers, Smith,
• 8:18
Speaker 2: Row all have been all have done really well for us.
• 8:21
Speaker 2: It's allowed us to then maybe go a bit high
• 8:23
Speaker 2: with some of the other pretty you know, Watkins. That's
• 8:25
Speaker 2: how we afford Watkins, Harland, Sackers, Palmer's Salahs, all of
• 8:29
Speaker 2: those and actually the six five seven five ish options
• 8:32
Speaker 2: and maybe you're a bit more difficult to get that said.
• 8:35
Speaker 2: I went for SLANKI obviously he was a little bit
• 8:36
Speaker 2: more and unbalanced my whole team, and used two free
• 8:39
Speaker 2: transfers to get him, and with hindsight it's, you know,
• 8:42
Speaker 2: it's probably probably wasn't the best thing to do.
• 8:44
  Speaker 3: I mean.
• 8:44
Speaker 2: The worry with Surs though, is this is what the
• 8:47
Speaker 2: third game I've seen this season where you've had complete
• 8:50
Speaker 2: control over a game, you know, at first twenty minutes
• 8:53
Speaker 2: against Arsenal for example, complete control first game in the
• 8:56
Speaker 2: season against Leicester, you know, you'd like you're going to
• 8:59
Speaker 2: win that game about five nil and then again today
• 9:01
Speaker 2: and I thought you kind of turned a bit for
• 9:03
Speaker 2: corner because you had great performances against Brentford and Manchester United,
• 9:06
Speaker 2: got pretty big wins in those, but you went back
• 9:10
Speaker 2: to Spurs of you know, the start of the season,
• 9:12
Speaker 2: where Andrew's just on the sideline.
• 9:14
Speaker 3: It's just like, what the hell am I watching?
• 9:17
Speaker 2: How have we managed to lose this game from the
• 9:20
Speaker 2: dominance that we showed in the first half to nil up.
• 9:25
Speaker 2: I can't think of too many games like it was
• 9:28
Speaker 2: like a complete reversal. Spurs were really bad and Brighton
• 9:33
Speaker 2: were unbelievable. I thought in that set it was basically
• 9:35
Speaker 2: the perfect performance from Brighton. I thought second half of
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: that game.
• 9:38
Speaker 1: It was so weird, wasn't it, Because it literally was.
• 9:40
Speaker 1: It could have been two separate games because the first
• 9:42
Speaker 1: half Brian not great, Spurs playing really nicely, not taking chances.
• 9:46
Speaker 1: I mean, that's pretty much dance Spurs this season. Even
• 9:49
Speaker 1: when I think back to Manchester United game in game
• 9:52
Speaker 1: week six, it was still Spurs great, but not taking
• 9:55
Speaker 1: chances like should have and could have won that game
• 9:57
Speaker 1: six or seven. This time it was the same in
• 9:59
Speaker 1: this first half against Brighton. The game should have been
• 10:02
Speaker 1: out of sight. We should have been three four up
• 10:04
Speaker 1: and then maybe Brighton don't put in that performance in
• 10:07
Speaker 1: the second half. But as it was, Spurs always have
• 10:10
Speaker 1: and it's always been the case in the FPL. Isn't
• 10:12
Speaker 1: it that we always say the clean sheet doesn't always
• 10:15
Speaker 1: look likely to stick With Spurs. There always looks to
• 10:17
Speaker 1: be an individual moment which costs the clean sheet. Sometimes
• 10:22
Speaker 1: it's the goalie, this time it was it was you
• 10:24
Speaker 1: doggie first off. Just an individual moment where it costs
• 10:29
Speaker 1: the clean sheet. And the thing with Spurs is that
• 10:31
Speaker 1: then it seemed to get in their heads. Brighton took
• 10:33
Speaker 1: momentum from it, Spurs just collapsed. And what I will
• 10:38
Speaker 1: say is that from a Brighton perspective, Danny Welbeck, there
• 10:42
Speaker 1: are plenty of players that we can talk about, but
• 10:44
Speaker 1: I think from an FPL perspective, Danny Welbeck still for me,
• 10:48
Speaker 1: is the standout bright and pick. I mean, he was
• 10:51
Speaker 1: top across this game for both XG and XGI. He's
• 10:54
Speaker 1: currently averaging seven point one million per FPL pound that
• 10:58
Speaker 1: you spend, so he is in fantastic form and he's
• 11:04
Speaker 1: still cheap. And you know you were talking before about
• 11:07
Speaker 1: how do you were four players in that mid price bracket.
• 11:10
Speaker 1: They're sort of six to seven bracket, and how do
• 11:12
Speaker 1: we get two of them? Because if you want to
• 11:14
Speaker 1: Bomber or Jotta, how are you gonna have to lanky
• 11:16
Speaker 1: as well? Well? I think Danny Welbeck alongside Liam de Lap,
• 11:20
Speaker 1: who will talk about later, but those two feel like
• 11:23
Speaker 1: the way that you could potentially enable the rest of
• 11:26
Speaker 1: your team to work a lot better.
• 11:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I talked about how we've got sort of
• 11:29
Speaker 2: five million options that maybe we haven't had in previous seasons,
• 11:32
Speaker 2: but I don't think we've had so many forwards around
• 11:34
Speaker 2: six million now we do do this year. I mean
• 11:36
Speaker 2: it's a Shane Moonis has kind of dropped off because
• 11:38
Speaker 2: he was another one in that bracket. But with calvit Lewin,
• 11:40
Speaker 2: with Wood, with Wellbeck, with de Lap as well, that's
• 11:44
Speaker 2: four kind of cut price forwards who are starting every
• 11:47
Speaker 2: week for their size. You mentioned the fixtures. I mean
• 11:50
Speaker 2: the pictures are really rough for Brighton. You know it's
• 11:53
Speaker 2: Newcastle away next. I've seen us play Newcastle. We always
• 11:57
Speaker 2: end up losing that game, particularly from home. It's a
• 12:00
Speaker 2: really tough one. And then it's Liverpool and City all
• 12:03
Speaker 2: in the next four games, three in the next four. Yeah,
• 12:06
Speaker 2: so I wouldn't I wouldn't be buying Wellbeck now. But yeah,
• 12:09
Speaker 2: we've been worried about maybe his place in the team.
• 12:12
Speaker 2: You know, is Joe Pedro going to play as the nine?
• 12:14
Speaker 2: At the moment, I can't see how it can be dropped.
• 12:16
Speaker 2: The only thing I will say is that Rutter was
• 12:18
  Speaker 2: absolutely fanatic.
• 12:20
Speaker 1: Really well in the second afternoon.
• 12:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought, and you know, I was kind of
• 12:23
Speaker 2: questioning why we spent so much money on a forty
• 12:26
Speaker 2: million pound number ten when we already had quite a
• 12:28
Speaker 2: few options in that in that position. But you couldn't
• 12:31
Speaker 2: really deal with him at times. And this is what
• 12:32
Speaker 2: I'm hearing from Leeds fans who know him well. He's
• 12:34
Speaker 2: kind of a real handful. So my question is when
• 12:37
Speaker 2: Pedro's back, yeah, and Rutter's playing as he is, how
• 12:41
Speaker 2: I mean, does Pedro get straight back into the team?
• 12:43
Speaker 2: Does that mean less minutes for Wellbeck? There is a
• 12:45
Speaker 2: bit of a question mark around that, But hopefully by
• 12:47
Speaker 2: the time Brighton's pictures turn we'll know a bit more
• 12:50
Speaker 2: about what the starting eleven is.
• 12:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I certainly think if you do have Jie Pedro,
• 12:54
Speaker 1: then there are other options and maybe let's move on
• 12:57
Speaker 1: to west Hamlinet's, which it feels a bit of a
• 12:59
Speaker 1: strange one to take as the second game. But I
• 13:01
Speaker 1: just think a word on Liam de Lapp probably before
• 13:04
Speaker 1: we talk about whether west Ham have turned a corner,
• 13:06
Speaker 1: and actually you can invest because if you've got jil
• 13:09
Speaker 1: Pedro in your team, that's three goals in the last
• 13:12
Speaker 1: two weeks. Now for Liam Delap, he got Bray Summers
• 13:14
Speaker 1: seeing game weeks it's just coming to game week seven
• 13:17
Speaker 1: and actually for me he does not deserve to be
• 13:21
Speaker 1: on the news and team here. It's another game where
• 13:22
Speaker 1: I've watched him and been so impressed by him, his movement,
• 13:25
Speaker 1: he's off the ballwark and then obviously rewarded with the
• 13:28
Speaker 1: goal in this one. I do think that if you're
• 13:31
Speaker 1: on jel Pedro, for me anyway, Liam Delap feels like
• 13:36
Speaker 1: the perfect FPL replacement for him given the fixtures the
• 13:39
Speaker 1: way they are ts, which is because when you look
• 13:41
Speaker 1: at what it's which have coming up next, Everton, Brentford, Leicester,
• 13:44
Speaker 1: then obviously it's Spurs and Managester United, but they're noting
• 13:47
Speaker 1: Forest Crystal Palace Born with Wolves. These are the games
• 13:50
Speaker 1: that ips which are going to say they must win
• 13:53
Speaker 1: if we're going to stay in the Premier League. And
• 13:56
Speaker 1: as an FPL manager, I look at those games and go, well,
• 13:59
Speaker 1: if that's what they think as a team, if they
• 14:01
Speaker 1: think these are must win fixtures, these are exactly the
• 14:04
Speaker 1: sort of games that I want to be invested in.
• 14:07
Speaker 1: And with the form that the Lap has coming into them,
• 14:09
  Speaker 1: I think it's a bit of a no brainer to
• 14:11
Speaker 1: have him as your third forward. Yeah.
• 14:13
Speaker 2: I mean it was interesting listening to Kenner at the
• 14:15
Speaker 2: end of the game because he said that he wanted
• 14:18
Speaker 2: to maybe give it a bit more of a go
• 14:19
Speaker 2: against west Ham than maybe they've done earlier in the season.
• 14:23
Speaker 2: I mean, you take away that Man City game and
• 14:24
Speaker 2: know they lost for one in that, but other than that,
• 14:27
Speaker 2: they've surprised me with how kind of tight they've looked
• 14:30
Speaker 2: at the back. I've been impressed with Grieves. I saw
• 14:32
Speaker 2: I went to the Amex and saw them against Brighton.
• 14:34
Speaker 2: I thought he was superb if they defended really.
• 14:35
Speaker 1: Well and could have scored again in this one.
• 14:37
Speaker 3: Actually yeah, absolutely, he's got a bit goal for it too.
• 14:39
Speaker 2: But I look at the games they've had, you know,
• 14:41
Speaker 2: they've they've played Villa, They've played Fulham, they played Brighton,
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: They've played Liverpool, they've played man City. It's been a
• 14:46
Speaker 2: tough start to the season for them, but they haven't
• 14:49
Speaker 2: you know, embarrassed themselves defensively. But west Ham was a
• 14:53
Speaker 2: bit of an embarrassment and McKenna said, you know, wanted
• 14:55
Speaker 2: to have a go. I think they saw west Ham
• 14:57
Speaker 2: as a team maybe not informed while they could take advantage,
• 15:00
Speaker 2: but wow, they tried to give it a go and
• 15:02
Speaker 2: got absolutely decimated four to one. So I wonder if
• 15:06
Speaker 2: if the Keller's going to go back to what's been
• 15:08
Speaker 2: kind of I mean, they haven't really been getting the
• 15:09
Speaker 2: results four consecutive draws before this, but I wonder if
• 15:14
Speaker 2: he'll go back to maybe playing a bit more of
• 15:16
Speaker 2: a balanced approach. Maybe not so gung ho in this,
• 15:20
Speaker 2: but even if he does, I mean till that for
• 15:21
Speaker 2: five to five is great value. I've got leaf Davis though,
• 15:25
Speaker 2: so I'm hoping he goes back to a slightly more
• 15:28
Speaker 2: defensive defensive formation. Yeah, and Davis can get something from
• 15:32
Speaker 2: his set pieces, which which are causing loads of problems.
• 15:34
Speaker 3: Still in a lot of the games I've seen.
• 15:36
Speaker 1: Absolutely I think if you've got four and a half,
• 15:38
Speaker 1: then leave Davis. If you've got four, then Grieves. The
• 15:41
Speaker 1: two of them look like really good investment options. And
• 15:43
Speaker 1: I know that that's a ridiculous thing to say on
• 15:45
Speaker 1: the back of losing four to one. However, defensively, actually
• 15:49
Speaker 1: they haven't been bad and as you say, you have
• 15:52
Speaker 1: to remember the teams that they've come up against, even
• 15:55
Speaker 1: against Liverpool in game week one, that first half I
• 15:58
Speaker 1: was really impressed and it kind of at the tone
• 16:00
Speaker 1: for what we've seen from Ipswich. This felt very out
• 16:03
Speaker 1: of character from what we've seen, Like I have watched
• 16:06
Speaker 1: ships which quite carefully because I do think that, I mean,
• 16:08
Speaker 1: I still have Barco in my team, so I need
• 16:11
Speaker 1: a replacement for him in the next couple of weeks.
• 16:13
Speaker 1: Grieves feels like the obvious option because it's four million.
• 16:18
Speaker 1: I can easily just switch across to him save the budget.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: But I would quite like to find that point five
• 16:23
Speaker 1: because I just think with the way that it's which
• 16:26
Speaker 1: have traditionally been playing and the set piece threat leaf,
• 16:30
Speaker 1: Davis feels like a really good opportunity. You know, we
• 16:33
Speaker 1: said last week and for weeks and weeks and weeks
• 16:35
Speaker 1: on the main pod eighteen assists in the Championship last season,
• 16:39
Speaker 1: Like you can't overlook how attacking that is from a
• 16:43
Speaker 1: four point five defender. And if there's going to be
• 16:46
Speaker 1: clean sheets, if there's going to be attacking returns, the
• 16:49
Speaker 1: next eight to ten weeks feel like the times when
• 16:52
Speaker 1: we might see those for Ipswich.
• 16:54
Speaker 2: So I don't hate the double up. Actually yeah, I
• 16:57
Speaker 2: completely agree with you about the next three and it's Everton,
• 16:59
Speaker 2: Brentford and Leicester next. I genuinely think if which are
• 17:03
Speaker 2: going to stay up, I think they have to get
• 17:05
Speaker 2: four points from those three games. They've they've got to
• 17:08
Speaker 2: win one of them and then they can't. They can't
• 17:10
Speaker 2: lose the other two. You know, Everyton and Leicester, Brentford maybe,
• 17:15
Speaker 2: I mean Brentford have been picking up wins, but still
• 17:16
Speaker 2: look a bit suspect at the at the back. If
• 17:18
Speaker 2: the goals do dry up, I do worry a bit
• 17:19
Speaker 2: about them, but you know, maybe less so than than
• 17:22
Speaker 2: everything and less I think are going to be right
• 17:23
Speaker 2: down there. But yeah, I think again, if you're wild
• 17:25
Speaker 2: card in this week, or you're looking at transfers looking
• 17:27
Speaker 2: to free up money to bring in some of the
• 17:29
Speaker 2: big hitters. Davis and de Lapat too, the cheapest players
• 17:31
Speaker 2: in the game with those three fixtures, they're a good investment.
• 17:34
Speaker 3: I think, yeah, what.
• 17:34
Speaker 1: About west Ham then, because in the complete role reverse
• 17:39
Speaker 1: or to what we've just said about Ipswich would impressed
• 17:41
Speaker 1: us and then had a moment west Ham were the opposite.
• 17:45
Speaker 1: They hadn't impressed. I wasn't even looking at their assets,
• 17:48
Speaker 1: and then they had a moment in this game where
• 17:50
Speaker 1: they just they turned up. And I think in PI
• 17:52
Speaker 1: it was because it's which played the way that they did.
• 17:56
Speaker 1: But this is the time where we started to see
• 17:58
Speaker 1: the best of Jared Bowen and actually even Michael Antonio
• 18:02
Speaker 1: a goal three as his three bonus points in this
• 18:04
Speaker 1: finally pit to eighteen points. That's his first double digital
• 18:08
Speaker 1: since he's eleven points in the twenty one to twenty
• 18:11
Speaker 1: two season back in the game we three of that,
• 18:13
  Speaker 1: so it's been a long time since we've seen a
• 18:16
Speaker 1: double digit hall from Antonio. Do we see this as
• 18:20
Speaker 1: a moment where west Ham are turning a corner and
• 18:22
Speaker 1: we can invest from an FPI perspective or are we
• 18:26
Speaker 1: still saying it's difficult because you know, already we've talked
• 18:30
Speaker 1: about de lap and Brenda Johnson and Danny Welbeck, all
• 18:33
Speaker 1: of these coming in at cheaper price points than the
• 18:36
Speaker 1: likes of Bowen or Antonio. I don't know whether I
• 18:41
Speaker 1: can trust west Ham to continue with this form given
• 18:45
Speaker 1: that it spurs up next. That'll be an interesting game
• 18:48
Speaker 1: to see how they get on. And then it's Manchester United,
• 18:51
Speaker 1: Nottingham Forest ever to Newcastle Arsenal. It is mixed. That
• 18:55
Speaker 1: is a very mixed fixture on for them.
• 18:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Antonio is kind of in the team,
• 19:01
Speaker 2: isn't he, because they haven't really got too many other
• 19:03
Speaker 2: options up up top. I mean, Danny ings Is is
• 19:06
Speaker 2: kind of in and out. Four Kruk was obviously the
• 19:08
Speaker 2: big signing who's injured, so yeah, and Antonio is kind
• 19:12
  Speaker 2: of there. And I got't be honest, I didn't see
• 19:14
Speaker 2: this from Antonia. It reminds me of when we got
• 19:18
Speaker 2: four was it four or five goals he got to
• 19:19
Speaker 2: get to Norwich years ago, that kind of huge hole
• 19:23
Speaker 2: that he member. Yeah, yeah, I mean he's been a
• 19:27
Speaker 2: good asset for us in the past, you know, but
• 19:29
Speaker 2: it's it's only six and five goals in the last
• 19:31
Speaker 2: two seasons that followed the back of back to back
• 19:33
Speaker 2: ten goals in the league and actually the three three
• 19:36
Speaker 2: ten ten holes in a row in the league, so
• 19:39
Speaker 2: one point nine percent only ship five point four million.
• 19:41
Speaker 2: Again it's another cheap, cheap asset. But yeah, other than Southampton,
• 19:45
Speaker 2: I think west Ham of the team I've been least
• 19:47
Speaker 2: impressed with this year, and I thought there was kind
• 19:50
Speaker 2: of rising pressure on lopategy as well. But I look
• 19:53
Speaker 2: at the team and think there's real talent in this team.
• 19:56
Speaker 2: No Kudu's Paketa Bowen up top, great, you know that's
• 20:00
Speaker 2: that's a real creative force, like sitting behind whatever striker
• 20:04
Speaker 2: they play. So I think they might yet have a
• 20:07
Speaker 2: part of the playing our season. But I want to
• 20:10
Speaker 2: see them in another match so to make sure this
• 20:12
Speaker 2: isn't a blip, because I do think Ipswich maybe underestimated
• 20:16
Speaker 2: them a little bit, maybe a little bit naive going
• 20:19
Speaker 2: into that away game and west Ham was able to
• 20:21
Speaker 2: pick them off and they pressed. I mean they played
• 20:23
Speaker 2: really well. Again, I don't want to take credit away
• 20:25
Speaker 2: from them. They pressed really well, high intensity right from
• 20:28
Speaker 2: the start and nips which can't get near them. But
• 20:31
Speaker 2: I want to see it happen again before I even
• 20:33
Speaker 2: think about their rest's Bowen's the one is the seven
• 20:35
Speaker 2: point four. I think if you're going to invest in
• 20:36
Speaker 2: west Ham, it's it's Bowen you go for.
• 20:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, And I love owning Jared Bowen in FBL. He's
• 20:41
Speaker 1: one of those assets where historically, even when west Ham
• 20:44
Speaker 1: haven't been at their best, you could rely on Jared
• 20:46
Speaker 1: Bowen's pick up points and you kind of felt like
• 20:49
Speaker 1: if if west Ham were going to score goals, that
• 20:52
Speaker 1: Bowen would be would be part of them. And I
• 20:55
Speaker 1: still feel like that now, like I still feel like
• 20:57
Speaker 1: looking at that west Ham team, if west Ham we're
• 21:00
Speaker 1: going to score goals, then I would bet on Bowen
• 21:03
Speaker 1: being part of it. But I just think the issue
• 21:05
Speaker 1: I have with him is the price point, because we're
• 21:08
Speaker 1: not seeing enough from him to warrant spending a million
• 21:11
Speaker 1: more on him than say Johnson or even some of
• 21:15
Speaker 1: the really cheap options that we'll have a look at.
• 21:17
Speaker 1: Or maybe let's move on to the Brentford game in
• 21:20
Speaker 1: a minute and talk about in Bombo, because he's around
• 21:23
Speaker 1: the same price point. Now we've had a couple of
• 21:25
Speaker 1: price rises out of him. I would struggle to invest
• 21:29
Speaker 1: in Bowen right now over somebody like in Bombo, particularly
• 21:33
Speaker 1: given the Brentford fixtures versus what we're seeing coming up
• 21:37
Speaker 1: for West Ham Because Brentford having managester United Ips which
• 21:40
Speaker 1: full and born with Everton Leicster between now and game
• 21:44
Speaker 1: week thirteen, that's a far nicer fixture run than we're
• 21:47
Speaker 1: seeing from West Hammond and Bowen, so Boa might be
• 21:52
Speaker 1: one of those that I kind of keep looking at.
• 21:54
Speaker 1: Going I'd like because I can see returns in the
• 21:57
Speaker 1: next few weeks. But I just think the potential for
• 22:00
Speaker 1: a haul from him now that the switch game is done,
• 22:04
Speaker 1: and I didn't see a potential hall for him here.
• 22:06
Speaker 1: To be honest, I thought it which would be better
• 22:08
Speaker 1: than this. It just feels like those fixtures may not.
• 22:14
Speaker 1: They're probably return points, but will they return big holes?
• 22:16
Speaker 1: And I think at that price you're looking for a
• 22:18
Speaker 1: big hole because there's so many cheap options you could
• 22:20
  Speaker 1: go to instead.
• 22:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, and seven point four isn't isn't the
• 22:25
Speaker 2: most attractive price. So if he was seven million, or
• 22:27
Speaker 2: maybe he was like in Brenan Johnson's you know, kind
• 22:31
Speaker 2: of price range, I think he'd be a real asset
• 22:33
Speaker 2: for us. But I think because west Ham are kind
• 22:37
Speaker 2: of capable, I think of maybe not scoring or going
• 22:39
Speaker 2: on a bit of a run of not playing that well,
• 22:41
Speaker 2: which we've seen earlier in the season. I think that
• 22:43
Speaker 2: kind of eliminates him as an option. I mean you
• 22:45
Speaker 2: mentioned him Boom. I mean he was absolutely fantastic again.
• 22:48
Speaker 2: I think he's underlying numbers you look at, is the
• 22:51
Speaker 2: points that he scored this season. I mean this is
• 22:54
Speaker 2: elite level. You know, he's only three points behind Soccer
• 22:57
  Speaker 2: for the.
• 22:57
Speaker 1: Season, which is madness, by the way.
• 23:00
  Speaker 3: Isn't it.
• 23:00
  Speaker 2: I know, it's absolutely crazy. And he's been a good
• 23:02
Speaker 2: asset for us in the past. And I think we
• 23:04
Speaker 2: knew that without Tony around and Boman would step up
• 23:07
Speaker 2: because we've seen that happen from him before. But it
• 23:10
Speaker 2: always impresses me when I watch him because he's so good.
• 23:13
Speaker 2: He's just such an excellent, excellent player for Brentford. And yeah,
• 23:18
Speaker 2: I mean the next guly I have one point one three,
• 23:19
Speaker 2: so we actually, you know, underperformed slightly and under kind
• 23:23
Speaker 2: of what he was expected to get. A couple of
• 23:24
Speaker 2: good crosses there was one that could save I think
• 23:28
Speaker 2: from a near assist that he had as well as
• 23:30
Speaker 2: the goalie scored. You'd maybe want a little bit more
• 23:32
Speaker 2: from him in the five to three potentially, But you know,
• 23:37
Speaker 2: in some ways it's good to see, you know, Brentford
• 23:39
Speaker 2: have other goal scorers other than him from their point
• 23:42
Speaker 2: of view, not so much from from an FBL perspective.
• 23:44
Speaker 1: I think that's my issue as because every week I
• 23:47
Speaker 1: think I would really like to get him, I still
• 23:49
Speaker 1: don't have him, and I keep looking for him, and
• 23:53
Speaker 1: I look at him every week and I'm like, how
• 23:54
Speaker 1: do I get you in my team in this route
• 23:56
Speaker 1: this week? And actually last week the only route I
• 23:59
Speaker 1: had to him was to sell, and I just didn't
• 24:01
Speaker 1: feel comfortable selling Joster against Wolves and then obviously he
• 24:03
Speaker 1: got the two assists last week, and I thought, well,
• 24:05
Speaker 1: I don't feel comfortable selling you against Crystal Palace either
• 24:08
Speaker 1: going into this week. So I couldn't bring myself to
• 24:10
Speaker 1: do it. And I needed a replacement for smith Row,
• 24:13
Speaker 1: but I didn't have the budget because I bought dominance
• 24:16
Speaker 1: to Lanky up Top the week before. I just didn't
• 24:18
Speaker 1: have the budget to get from him up to Enbombo.
• 24:21
Speaker 1: And so for me, I was looking at that thinking
• 24:24
Speaker 1: I'm not comfortable. I'm not comfortable not having him because
• 24:27
Speaker 1: he is the heart and soul of what Brentford are
• 24:29
Speaker 1: doing and Brentford playing really really well at the moment. However,
• 24:34
Speaker 1: it's his fifth return of the season now in terms
• 24:36
Speaker 1: of games scored in, so only two blanks. That's really nice,
• 24:41
Speaker 1: but they're not halls apart from game week three against Southampton,
• 24:46
Speaker 1: where if anybody's going to haul, you'd expect it to
• 24:48
Speaker 1: probably come against Southampton. Sorry Southampton, but they are kind
• 24:52
Speaker 1: of the team that we're targeting from an FPR perspective,
• 24:54
Speaker 1: so not surprised to see a double digit from him there,
• 24:58
Speaker 1: but when you look at the rest of the games
• 25:00
Speaker 1: kind of consistent, it's nine is as nine is a.
• 25:03
Speaker 1: We're not seeing absolutely massive returns from him yet and
• 25:07
Speaker 1: that I think is a little bit of a disappointment
• 25:09
Speaker 1: if you are owning him in FPL, because his performances
• 25:14
Speaker 1: look like they should be returning hall after hall after
• 25:18
Speaker 1: hall after haul after hall, but we aren't quite getting
• 25:22
Speaker 1: there yet. And when I look at the fixtures that
• 25:23
Speaker 1: they have coming up, it's Manchester United first up after
• 25:27
Speaker 1: the international break, then it's Ipswich Fulham Born with Everton Lester.
• 25:31
Speaker 1: There should be hauls in these games, but like just
• 25:35
Speaker 1: as a random Premier League stat eight goals in this game,
• 25:38
Speaker 1: eight different goalscorers, all from a different country. So it's
• 25:43
Speaker 1: you know when you just think like that's that's mad, right,
• 25:47
Speaker 1: So when we're looking at that fixture, that kind of
• 25:50
Speaker 1: says everything I want to know about Brentford. It's that
• 25:54
Speaker 1: Mbomo is their best player by country mile, but he's
• 25:57
Speaker 1: not a country mile ahead of the rest in FPL,
• 26:00
Speaker 1: which for me is interesting.
• 26:01
Speaker 2: I guess though, the flip side of that is you've
• 26:03
Speaker 2: got Jotta Josser hasn't hit a double digit all No,
• 26:06
  Speaker 2: he's the same, Actually, yeah, he's He's got quite a
• 26:10
Speaker 2: few returns, but he's again he missed a couple of
• 26:12
Speaker 2: big chances, didn't he so wasn't wasn't really anywhere near
• 26:14
Speaker 2: the near the bonus yeah this time out. And I
• 26:18
Speaker 2: mean Jota has played ninety in the last two games.
• 26:21
Speaker 2: But you're always a bit concerned he's going to miss
• 26:23
Speaker 2: a game like he did in Gay week five, or
• 26:24
Speaker 2: he might get subbed before the sixty mark like he
• 26:27
Speaker 2: did in game week four. And I owned him and
• 26:29
Speaker 2: he missed out on two points, which was which was typical.
• 26:32
Speaker 2: You don't get that threat with with a boomer. I
• 26:34
Speaker 2: guess which is why. And he's got the penalties too,
• 26:38
Speaker 2: so I think it's close between them. I completely agree.
• 26:41
Speaker 2: I think if I was looking at this this week
• 26:42
Speaker 2: and thinking, should I do Yotta to boom O or
• 26:45
  Speaker 2: it's Crystal Palace, I think I'd be a bit hesitant,
• 26:47
Speaker 2: but I would be looking at that move. I think
• 26:49
Speaker 2: in the in the shorter term, I think in Boomer
• 26:52
Speaker 2: is just for the run he's got off the next
• 26:54
Speaker 2: kind of five, five or six weeks. He's one of
• 26:57
Speaker 2: the top players. I think that I wanted my team,
• 26:59
  Speaker 2: so I'm glad.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not enjoying
• 27:03
Speaker 1: not having him. Every time I've wifed Bremford, I'm like, oh,
• 27:06
Speaker 1: this is awful, and particularly this time around, like le
• 27:10
Speaker 1: owns him and we were together when obviously when this
• 27:12
Speaker 1: was going on, and every time Brentford scored and it
• 27:15
Speaker 1: flashed up on my phone was scored again, I was like, oh, please,
• 27:18
Speaker 1: this is not pleasant, Like it's really not nice.
• 27:22
Speaker 2: Five goals and one in Boomo involvement for a non
• 27:25
Speaker 2: owner is probably about as good as you could hope for.
• 27:27
Speaker 1: Right as, I feel like I dodged a massive, massive
• 27:30
Speaker 1: bullet in this one. Because this could have and should
• 27:33
Speaker 1: have been so much worse for me because they've scored
• 27:36
Speaker 1: five goals and I don't have any brendth of players
• 27:39
Speaker 1: at all. Not only do I not have any, I
• 27:41
Speaker 1: don't have their best player who lots of the game
• 27:43
Speaker 1: do have. Like he is becoming increasingly popular. I mean
• 27:46
Speaker 1: now is in twenty six percent of teams. But those
• 27:49
Speaker 1: twenty six percent of teams are the really engaged managers.
• 27:52
Speaker 1: They're the likes of you and Lee who I want
• 27:53
Speaker 1: to be, right, So these are the teams that you're
• 27:57
Speaker 1: I feel like I'm just giving away points to week
• 28:00
Speaker 1: to my big rivals by not having him. But yeah,
• 28:03
Speaker 1: I sit here now and I look at my team
• 28:06
Speaker 1: and I think, how am I getting him? Because Jotter?
• 28:12
Speaker 1: And maybe this is a nice segue into the Liverpool game.
• 28:16
Speaker 1: Obviously we've got the international break coming up. It is
• 28:19
Speaker 1: becoming increasingly clear to me the slot prefers Jotter to
• 28:26
Speaker 1: Darwin in that number nine position. I don't think Darwin's
• 28:28
Speaker 1: done enough in the games where he's come on, whereas
• 28:30
Speaker 1: Gackpo has shown much more. And so I wasn't surprised
• 28:34
Speaker 1: necessarily to see the Lewis DS benching this week and
• 28:37
Speaker 1: Gappo getting a start. Liverpool have Chelsea up next, and
• 28:41
Speaker 1: this is a Chelsea side that I am now going
• 28:43
Speaker 1: to be without for Feigner Anka Coorea in game week
• 28:47
Speaker 1: eight because they've both picked up their fifth yellow card
• 28:50
Speaker 1: of the season already, so this is a Chelsea defense.
• 28:54
Speaker 1: I've only played seven games. How do you get five
• 28:56
Speaker 1: yellow cards in seven games? Both of them from Chelsea
• 29:01
Speaker 1: as well. Like that is two defensive important defensive players
• 29:05
Speaker 1: for Chelsea. Like Chelsea haven't exactly been great defensive and
• 29:08
Speaker 1: we'll talk a little bit about them later on, but
• 29:11
Speaker 1: now to have those two suspended for the game against
• 29:15
Speaker 1: Liverpool in game we k that makes me want to
• 29:18
Speaker 1: keep Jotta even more because coming out of the international break,
• 29:22
Speaker 1: obviously you know he's Portuguese, so he's not got a
• 29:25
Speaker 1: long South American flight like we see with the Lewis
• 29:28
Speaker 1: DS's and some of the other Liverpool assets. I can't
• 29:34
Speaker 1: bring myself to sell Jotter. I don't think it's.
• 29:38
Speaker 2: A funny one with the Liverpool mids because you're kind
• 29:40
Speaker 2: of worried every week.
• 29:41
Speaker 3: Whether they're going to start.
• 29:43
Speaker 2: You're worried every week they're going to get subbed off
• 29:45
Speaker 2: at fifty eight minutes and you know, and not be
• 29:48
Speaker 2: able to continue. But at the same time, if you
• 29:50
Speaker 2: don't own them, you're worried because Liverpool look absolutely brilliant
• 29:54
Speaker 2: going forward. I think he has his ownership is obviously
• 29:57
Speaker 2: really high, just as still a bit of a differential point six,
• 30:00
Speaker 2: but it doesn't feel right not having Liverpool asset no,
• 30:05
Speaker 2: So I think owners are kind of cursing them at
• 30:07
Speaker 2: times because they're you know, they're getting subbed off early,
• 30:10
Speaker 2: but not owners are cursing because they're scoring big points
• 30:12
Speaker 2: and they and they haven't got them. So there's no
• 30:14
Speaker 2: kind of winner with this unless you own the one
• 30:19
Speaker 2: that scores that week.
• 30:20
Speaker 1: And the last couple of weeks, Jossa has been the one, right,
• 30:23
Speaker 1: so I felt like I've got away with it because
• 30:26
Speaker 1: last week we've got a couple of sists. This week
• 30:28
Speaker 1: we get the goal. This week. I was honestly, I
• 30:30
Speaker 1: was quite scared about DS and Saler. The DS mention
• 30:34
Speaker 1: made me feel better, but even then when he comes on,
• 30:37
Speaker 1: I'm still like, because he's thirty five percent owned, Sala's
• 30:42
Speaker 1: thirty nine percent owned, that's going to hurt if they
• 30:45
Speaker 1: come on and they do something or Salah scores. It's
• 30:48
Speaker 1: going to hurt rank right, just so as you're saying
• 30:50
Speaker 1: nice differential, But it's a headache. The Liverpool midfield is
• 30:54
Speaker 1: a headache this year.
• 30:55
Speaker 2: I know what I said about Boom a bit earlier,
• 30:58
Speaker 2: but this wouldn't be the week it with those two
• 31:01
Speaker 2: suspensions and the way Chelsea have been defending anyway, and
• 31:04
Speaker 2: the fact that you say he's off with Portugal, he's
• 31:07
Speaker 2: not flying to like South America or something like that. Yeah,
• 31:09
Speaker 2: I think Joss has got to be a hold this week.
• 31:13
Speaker 2: He wouldn't he wouldn't be losing leaving my team. I mean,
• 31:16
Speaker 2: Salah's the interesting one because the next year I've nine
• 31:19
Speaker 2: point two to three. That's his lowest of the season
• 31:22
Speaker 2: so far. Obviously, with Palmer the way he's been with
• 31:24
Speaker 2: soccer getting a big return with Harland in it, almost
• 31:27
Speaker 2: everyone's team because the fixtures, those with Salah can't really
• 31:32
Speaker 2: afford that to happen. They can't afford a low XG
• 31:35
Speaker 2: performance and no returns and an earliest sub. So what
• 31:40
Speaker 2: do you do with Salah if you've got him? Because
• 31:42
Speaker 2: Joss is a lot cheaper Soo's Diaz. But Salah's very pricey.
• 31:47
Speaker 1: If I had Salah and not soccer. And I'll be
• 31:50
Speaker 1: asking Jules this question when I see him for the
• 31:53
Speaker 1: for the pod later on in the week. Is that's
• 31:55
Speaker 1: the position that he's in. He's got no soccer but
• 31:57
Speaker 1: he has got Salah. I don't think you can nott
• 32:01
Speaker 1: have soccer anymore. And we'll talk about the Arsenal game next.
• 32:04
Speaker 1: I don't think you cannot have him, really. I think
• 32:06
Speaker 1: he feels too important right now. And I know that
• 32:10
Speaker 1: last week Soaker blanks, but the underlying numbers were still there,
• 32:14
Speaker 1: whereas this week what we're seeing from Salah is the
• 32:17
Speaker 1: underlying numbers aren't really there. And if you are twelve
• 32:22
Speaker 1: and a half million more than twelve and a half million,
• 32:24
Speaker 1: twelve point seven million, you have to be returning regularly.
• 32:29
Speaker 1: If there is somebody else in that price point or
• 32:32
Speaker 1: cheaper that is doing a better job than you have
• 32:35
Speaker 1: to seriously question whether you're on the right one. And
• 32:38
Speaker 1: I think this year the premiums are it's famine or feast,
• 32:42
Speaker 1: isn't it? Like last week it was called Palmer that
• 32:44
Speaker 1: absolutely feasted and we didn't have him. I think if
• 32:48
Speaker 1: you've not got Socca this week, you'll feel similar to
• 32:51
Speaker 1: how we felt last week as non Palmer owners. And
• 32:55
Speaker 1: when they do return like that, you do have to
• 32:57
Speaker 1: consider how you get them. And I think when you
• 33:00
Speaker 1: look at the Arsenal fixtures coming up, it's Bournemouth, then
• 33:02
Speaker 1: they have three what I would call more difficult fixtures
• 33:06
Speaker 1: with Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea before embarking on a lovely
• 33:09
Speaker 1: run again from game week twelve. I guess people are
• 33:14
Speaker 1: going to be saying, you know, would you swap out
• 33:18
Speaker 1: somebody like a Salah given the fixtures for Liverpool read Chelsea,
• 33:23
Speaker 1: who we've just mentioned are without two of their defenders
• 33:25
Speaker 1: next week. Then it's asked for Brighton Aston Villa Southampton.
• 33:28
Speaker 1: That's a nice run for Sally. I would expect, yeah
• 33:32
Speaker 1: at home, Yeah, And you would expect Sala to return
• 33:37
Speaker 1: in those because Salah at home has been fantastic for
• 33:42
Speaker 1: years and years and years and years and years. Right,
• 33:44
Speaker 1: this is not a new thing like Salah playing at home.
• 33:48
Speaker 1: This season We've got what he's had three home games,
• 33:51
Speaker 1: we've had ten points against Brentford, we've had the blank
• 33:55
Speaker 1: obviously in the surprise defeats to Nottingham Forest in game
• 33:58
Speaker 1: beek four and then another six points at home to
• 34:01
Speaker 1: Bournemouth in five so we've had two returns in the
• 34:04
Speaker 1: three home fixtures that we've seen. As you say, there's
• 34:06
Speaker 1: three home games in the next four for him, I
• 34:09
Speaker 1: would expect Salah to return in those. So it's going
• 34:12
Speaker 1: to be a difficult decision, I think for managers, isn't it.
• 34:14
Speaker 1: Do you go, okay, well it's too expensive, I'm going
• 34:17
Speaker 1: to move to one of the four assets, or do
• 34:18
Speaker 1: you hold on the basis that you've got decent home
• 34:22
  Speaker 1: fixtures coming.
• 34:23
Speaker 2: It's funny though that after three weeks everyone's saying cellars essential.
• 34:27
Speaker 2: You know, three double digit Hals looks absolutely brilliant, matching
• 34:31
Speaker 2: Harland and now it's like, oh, how do we get
• 34:34
  Speaker 2: rid of him?
• 34:35
Speaker 3: After one blank? And I think that that is the.
• 34:37
Speaker 2: Nature of this season, that your your premium assets are
• 34:39
Speaker 2: going to blank and then one week and then you
• 34:42
Speaker 2: look at someone another one that's returned, because there'll probably
• 34:45
Speaker 2: always be one other premium returning that you maybe you
• 34:48
Speaker 2: don't own each week, and then it's the question do
• 34:50
Speaker 2: you move over to them. It's been interesting with Socca
• 34:54
Speaker 2: because I agree I think soccer is such an important
• 34:56
Speaker 2: player for us this season, but I do wonder if,
• 34:59
Speaker 2: with the fixtures the way they are over the next
• 35:01
Speaker 2: four whether this is the best time to do Salah
• 35:03
Speaker 2: to soaka. And I feel the same about Palmer as well,
• 35:06
Speaker 2: because Palmer's fixtures aren't great for Chelsea either, so it
• 35:11
  Speaker 2: wasn't a great performance from Salah. I haven't got him
• 35:13
Speaker 2: and I'm not in any way looking to buy him,
• 35:16
Speaker 2: but if I had him, I would probably give him
• 35:19
Speaker 2: the next couple of games. Who do you have I've
• 35:22
Speaker 2: just got Trent at the back.
• 35:24
Speaker 1: Hmm. That's interesting because so obviously I was pleased with
• 35:27
Speaker 1: the Trent clean sheet this week and a couple of
• 35:29
Speaker 1: bonus points for him. Trent is a is a kind
• 35:33
Speaker 1: of conversation though, I think, isn't he Because when you
• 35:35
Speaker 1: look at those pictures Chelsea, Arsenal Brighton, Aston Villa, these
• 35:40
Speaker 1: are teams that like to score goals, so they're not
• 35:43
Speaker 1: teams that I would necessarily think, oh, locked clean sheet
• 35:46
Speaker 1: for Liverpool in those ones, but the attacking returns haven't
• 35:50
Speaker 1: really been there for Trent either. He's one that I'm
• 35:53
Speaker 1: looking at and thinking. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted
• 35:56
Speaker 1: with your eight points this week. Thank you, Trent. However,
• 35:59
Speaker 1: could I save a little bit of money there? Could
• 36:01
Speaker 1: I go down? I mean this week we had a
• 36:03
Speaker 1: benching for Robertson. Do I think that's going to happen
• 36:05
Speaker 1: in the next four No, if you've got Robertson, I
• 36:08
Speaker 1: don't think it's an ongoing issue. I think it was
• 36:10
Speaker 1: an opportunity because I think he might have been carrying
• 36:13
Speaker 1: a little bit of something that we saw earlier on
• 36:16
Speaker 1: in the week in the Champions League. I don't think
• 36:18
Speaker 1: it's going to be a long term problem, and I
• 36:19
Speaker 1: think we saw him come off the bench. I think
• 36:21
Speaker 1: it was just Slots saw it as an opportunity to
• 36:23
Speaker 1: give simm Cast a start and give him a little
• 36:25
Speaker 1: bit more of a rest in this one. But I
• 36:27
Speaker 1: would expect that he'd be back for the Chelsea game
• 36:29
Speaker 1: and beyond. Do you think Truant's still a holt? It's
• 36:33
Speaker 1: a stupid thing to say after a clean sheet, but
• 36:35
Speaker 1: given the fixtures, is he worth the seven million?
• 36:39
Speaker 2: I think he's fine to hold given that he's on
• 36:41
Speaker 2: the set pieces, and if they do get a clean sheet,
• 36:44
Speaker 2: he's very very likely to be in the bonus like
• 36:46
Speaker 2: he was against Palette, because he does create chances. He's
• 36:50
Speaker 2: passing accuracies really high. I thought it had a really
• 36:52
Speaker 2: good game against Palace overall, and again I think he
• 36:55
Speaker 2: was maybe a bit unfortunate not to come away from
• 36:57
Speaker 2: it with something some kind of attacking With how he's
• 37:00
Speaker 2: only got one attacking return this season I think is bizarre. Yeah,
• 37:05
Speaker 2: and I think if he if he had three assists
• 37:07
Speaker 2: in a goal, for example, which he could have got
• 37:09
Speaker 2: from what I've seen so far, maybe the conversation is
• 37:12
Speaker 2: completely different. So yeah, the chances are there, the goal
• 37:16
  Speaker 2: threat is still there, but I don't think he's We've
• 37:21
Speaker 2: said essential loads of times in this pop, but I
• 37:23
Speaker 2: don't think he is essential to hold. I think if
• 37:24
Speaker 2: you are looking to free up funds to move for
• 37:27
Speaker 2: other assets, you know, if you're looking to move a
• 37:29
Speaker 2: five million up to a Brennan or an Ambuomo, or
• 37:32
Speaker 2: you're looking at you know, you need some money to.
• 37:34
Speaker 3: Get a Palmer or a Sack or someone like else.
• 37:35
Speaker 2: I think Trent becomes one of the easiest sells in
• 37:38
Speaker 2: your team because realistically, Chelsea Arsenal Brighton Villa the next
• 37:42
Speaker 2: four they could concede in all four of those games.
• 37:46
Speaker 2: Then it's Southampton. Okay, that's a great ficture. But then
• 37:48
  Speaker 2: it's Man City, then it's Newcastle Away. There's only there's
• 37:51
Speaker 2: only one fixture there really where you think a big
• 37:55
Speaker 2: Trent Hall is likely an he can haul in any game.
• 37:57
Speaker 2: He's Trent Alexander and he's got too assistant him and
• 37:59
Speaker 2: a goal or whatever. But if you're playing the fixtures,
• 38:03
Speaker 2: I think AQ holding Trent might not be the most
• 38:05
Speaker 2: the most sensible sensible play.
• 38:08
Speaker 1: I'm fully with you because I am looking for some
• 38:11
Speaker 1: budget to upgrade Harry Winks, because I need either a
• 38:13
Speaker 1: Brennan Johnson in my life, for an embomer in my life,
• 38:16
Speaker 1: Like I feel like my team needs it needs that.
• 38:18
Speaker 1: My midfield, my forward line and my defense is kind
• 38:21
Speaker 1: of stacked with premium assets, and I feel like I
• 38:23
Speaker 1: need to find some money from somewhere. Now one of
• 38:25
Speaker 1: the conversations is around Trent and the other conversation and
• 38:29
Speaker 1: it seguess maybe nicely into the most boring game of
• 38:31
Speaker 1: the weekend. So let's not spend very long here is
• 38:35
Speaker 1: the aston Villa game. Because Olie Watkins is my other cell.
• 38:38
Speaker 1: Now to the last two weeks, I would not have
• 38:40
Speaker 1: sat here and said, oh, I'm thinking about selling Oli
• 38:42
Speaker 1: Watkins It's funny what a blank does for you, because
• 38:45
Speaker 1: then you start to go, well, you're you're costing me
• 38:47
Speaker 1: a bit. Like we've just said with Sally, you're costing
• 38:49
Speaker 1: me this premium price tag. I need to find some
• 38:52
Speaker 1: budget and maybe owning you Ann Hahn and Ante Lanky
• 38:55
Speaker 1: is not the best idea in that front line. Let's
• 38:57
Speaker 1: not spend long on this one because it was. It
• 38:59
Speaker 1: was dull in terms. There was not a lot of
• 39:02
Speaker 1: attacking throw and I was expecting more from Villa on
• 39:04
Speaker 1: the back of the Champions League victory. But Olie Watkins,
• 39:06
Speaker 1: Morgan Rodgers still a hold for you.
• 39:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think we can lump Everton new cast
• 39:11
Speaker 2: into this one as well as being an baring game
• 39:13
Speaker 2: of the weekends. I mean Jordan Pickford and Johnny Evans,
• 39:16
Speaker 2: you know, men of the match sums it up with those. Yeah,
• 39:20
Speaker 2: what I've got, I've got Watkins, you.
• 39:23
Speaker 3: Know, I've got him on the world. I've got eleven
• 39:25
  Speaker 3: points to him.
• 39:25
Speaker 2: That was off the back of the two goals he's
• 39:28
Speaker 2: called against Everton and the goal he is called against Wolves.
• 39:30
Speaker 2: He's had a very strong start to the season. But yeah,
• 39:34
Speaker 2: it was it was a pretty performance fro Villain. I
• 39:36
Speaker 2: do wonder if you know the Champions League is affecting
• 39:39
Speaker 2: them a little bit because it was a pretty much
• 39:41
Speaker 2: identical team. I think to the one that got the
• 39:43
Speaker 2: great win against against Bayern Munich. Nine point one million
• 39:46
Speaker 2: is a lot of money for any player at the moment,
• 39:50
Speaker 2: especially when you've got talisman in midfield for kind of
• 39:53
Speaker 2: top sides like Salah, Palmer and Socker, so he has
• 39:57
Speaker 2: to keep delivering again. I I do wonder if maybe
• 40:00
Speaker 2: that was just a little bit of a blip against Manu.
• 40:04
Speaker 2: I didn't think any player really played well.
• 40:06
Speaker 3: In that game at all.
• 40:08
Speaker 2: Fullham away next full on a good side, then it's
• 40:10
  Speaker 2: Born more than it's Spurs and it's Liverpool. I wouldn't
• 40:12
Speaker 2: blame people for hopping off Watkins and moving things around.
• 40:15
Speaker 2: I'm going to keep him for the next two and
• 40:17
Speaker 2: then assessed from that. But yeah, if you look again,
• 40:20
Speaker 2: if you've another player, if you're looking to free money up,
• 40:21
Speaker 2: I think he's one that you potentially sell.
• 40:23
Speaker 1: Before we move on and talk about Arsenal and Manchester City.
• 40:26
Speaker 1: If you've got Consa, probably going to need to look
• 40:29
Speaker 1: for a replacement over the international breakthough, going off that
• 40:31
Speaker 1: will be a frustration for any managers that played him
• 40:34
Speaker 1: because of not keeping the Knean sheet as a result
• 40:37
Speaker 1: of going off fairly. Now, we've spoken a little bit
• 40:39
Speaker 1: on this pot about soccer already, but we should just
• 40:41
Speaker 1: shout out soccer's stats for this week. Obviously to assists,
• 40:45
Speaker 1: a goal, three bonus points. That's everything that we've been
• 40:48
Speaker 1: asking for. People have been talking about soccer and going, yeah,
• 40:50
Speaker 1: but we've not really seen the holes yet. We've not
• 40:52
Speaker 1: really seen the halls. This is where your halls came,
• 40:56
Speaker 1: wasn't it. So seven assists so far this season, that's
• 40:59
Speaker 1: the most. He was top for shots, he was top
• 41:01
Speaker 1: for chances created, he was top for crosses. I think
• 41:05
Speaker 1: Sokka is essential. There you go, I've said it.
• 41:08
Speaker 3: Do you think yeah?
• 41:10
Speaker 2: I mean he's only blamed once this season, which was
• 41:14
Speaker 2: against Leicester, and in that game he still got both
• 41:18
Speaker 2: but he had three until the last.
• 41:19
Speaker 1: Minute when tell me about it, I captain, didim?
• 41:21
Speaker 2: I know he created eight chances in that game, so
• 41:25
Speaker 2: you can't really blame him. I think the essential tag
• 41:29
Speaker 2: is maybe a bit much, just because his role seems
• 41:34
Speaker 2: to have changed a little bit in the team, which
• 41:36
Speaker 2: is he's not as direct as we've seen him in
• 41:39
Speaker 2: the past, his crossing ability and his passing ability seems
• 41:43
Speaker 2: to have gone up another level. You know, we know
• 41:46
Speaker 2: how effective Aarsenal are from set pieces, but open play
• 41:50
Speaker 2: as well. You know, his ability to find a player
• 41:53
Speaker 2: and pick out a player is second to none. I
• 41:55
Speaker 2: guess the question is for ten point one million, is
• 41:58
Speaker 2: an assist every week? You know, I'm being a bit
• 42:01
Speaker 2: you know, bedan to give it. If he was only
• 42:03
Speaker 2: to get an assist view every week at ten million,
• 42:05
Speaker 2: would that would that be enough?
• 42:07
Speaker 1: No? But equally so, Arsenal had twenty nine, yes, twenty
• 42:13
Speaker 1: nine attempts this game week. Now, I appreciate that it
• 42:17
Speaker 1: was against Southampton and they love, they love to give
• 42:20
Speaker 1: up an attempt on goal, So the data is kind
• 42:24
Speaker 1: of skewed a little bit by the opposition this week.
• 42:26
Speaker 1: But they've got Bourne WithU up next Arsenal and then
• 42:28
Speaker 1: there's those three fixtures. But I just think that the
• 42:31
Speaker 1: way that the way that they're playing, the way that
• 42:34
Speaker 1: they are able to consistently get a result. I mean,
• 42:38
Speaker 1: and even last week we saw them losing to Leicester
• 42:42
Speaker 1: and then pulling it back to win and get the
• 42:45
Speaker 1: three points and still score four goals in that one.
• 42:47
Speaker 1: For me, we talked about talisman before, he is the
• 42:51
Speaker 1: talisman in this team. He's so important, and he's so creative,
• 42:55
Speaker 1: and he's got players on the pitch that are finishing
• 42:57
Speaker 1: the chances that he is creating. I mean, but they
• 43:00
Speaker 1: didn't it in game week six, but they did in
• 43:02
Speaker 1: game week seven, and we saw a big hall. I
• 43:04
Speaker 1: think this might be the start of soccer being back
• 43:08
Speaker 1: on regular big halls. And if it is, then I
• 43:13
Speaker 1: don't want to be without him because he's one of
• 43:15
Speaker 1: those players that at the moment actually isn't as highly
• 43:19
Speaker 1: owned as he has been in seasons gone by. So
• 43:21
Speaker 1: when he is performing and doing really well at thirty
• 43:24
Speaker 1: four percent ownership, we're starting to feel the benefit of
• 43:28
Speaker 1: that whole. So I saw a big green arro on
• 43:30
Speaker 1: the back of what SOCCA did. I just wish I
• 43:32
Speaker 1: had captained him this week rather than last week. I
• 43:35
Speaker 1: suspect over the coming weeks we'll see that ownership rise
• 43:37
Speaker 1: from him as people look to move things around, particularly
• 43:40
Speaker 1: those that are wild carding over the international break, because
• 43:44
Speaker 1: we said about Ipswich needing to win the fixtures that
• 43:46
Speaker 1: they have coming up. If ARSON want to be in
• 43:48
Speaker 1: the title race all the way till the end of
• 43:49
Speaker 1: the season, which clearly they do games against Liverpool, Newcastle
• 43:53
Speaker 1: and Chelsea in three of the next four. Those are
• 43:55
Speaker 1: games that they have to win as well, so I
• 43:57
Speaker 1: want Zaker for that is.
• 44:00
Speaker 2: The last two games weren't as easy as Arsenal probably
• 44:03
Speaker 2: thought they were going to be, but they managed to
• 44:04
Speaker 2: get the wins in both around the match. I think
• 44:06
Speaker 2: last season they might have they probably would have drawn
• 44:08
Speaker 2: one of those games. So they're finding a way.
• 44:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think the interesting thing I guess is
• 44:13
Speaker 1: a lot of managers who wild carded already have got
• 44:15
Speaker 1: the double up of the Arsenal defense. And I think
• 44:18
Speaker 1: you'd be really annoyed if you double uped on the
• 44:21
Speaker 1: Arsenal defense for the last two because I was fully
• 44:24
Speaker 1: anticipating Yeah, well exactly, I mean, but I would have
• 44:28
Speaker 1: done exactly the same. I think against Leicester and Southampton
• 44:32
Speaker 1: you were locked in clean sheets, like I'd counted the
• 44:34
Speaker 1: sleeber points before the game kicked off. I was like, well,
• 44:37
Speaker 1: that's a guaranteed six pointer. They're probably going to go
• 44:39
Speaker 1: on a riot attack wise, so probably won't get any
• 44:42
Speaker 1: bonus points. But let's take the six and move On.
• 44:45
Speaker 1: Didn't get a clean sheet in either of them, and
• 44:47
Speaker 1: I'd look at the fixtures born with yeah, potential for
• 44:49
Speaker 1: a clean sheet there, but I'm not sure I see
• 44:52
Speaker 1: one against Liverpool, Newcastle or Chelsea, so will be interesting
• 44:56
Speaker 1: to see how how that goes. You're going to hold
• 44:58
Speaker 1: both of them your Arsenal defense.
• 45:00
  Speaker 3: No, I don't think so.
• 45:02
Speaker 2: I will for this week against Bournemouth, but yeah, I
• 45:04
Speaker 2: think for that run Liverpool and Castle Chelsea, it's it's
• 45:07
Speaker 2: probably wise just to go with with one. It's just
• 45:09
Speaker 2: it'd probably be Gabrielle the one I sell, and we
• 45:12
Speaker 2: know what he's capable of doing from a corner or
• 45:14
Speaker 2: a set piece or something like that. So it will
• 45:16
Speaker 2: come with a bit of a heavy a heavy heart.
• 45:18
Speaker 2: But I think I think two Arsenal defense is probably
• 45:21
Speaker 2: a bit much for those three those three.
• 45:22
Speaker 1: Games, all right, let's talk about before we go the final.
• 45:26
Speaker 1: The other team. I guess they are in the hunks.
• 45:28
Speaker 1: We've talked about Liverpool we took for Arsenal. We haven't
• 45:30
Speaker 1: really spoken about man City apart from to say that
• 45:32
Speaker 1: Harland is blanked for the second week in a row.
• 45:35
Speaker 1: They get the win here, but they could easily not
• 45:38
Speaker 1: have done Fulham. Actually we're unlucky not to score a
• 45:41
Speaker 1: third towards the back end of that game. And actually
• 45:43
Speaker 1: I was actually impressed by Fulham in this one.
• 45:45
Speaker 3: Trey Ala was unreal.
• 45:47
Speaker 1: Are not real? If only he could finish then.
• 45:51
Speaker 2: In the world, if he had any end product at all,
• 45:54
Speaker 2: he would literally be the best player in the world.
• 45:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, he would him. And as in this one created
• 46:00
Speaker 1: three big chances that was the most across the game.
• 46:02
Speaker 1: We tied with Soaker Like, he's been fantastic the last
• 46:05
Speaker 1: few weeks. Obviously, I know he's penalty last week, but
• 46:08
Speaker 1: he has been fantastic.
• 46:10
Speaker 2: And five six another forward below six million.
• 46:13
Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. Now the Man City defense still feels like
• 46:17
Speaker 1: it's in the mud. We're still not keeping clean sheets.
• 46:19
Speaker 1: This is a continuation of what we were seeing last season. Now,
• 46:22
Speaker 1: I think if you're a Rico lewis only you forgive
• 46:24
Speaker 1: it because obviously pops up with the assists for the
• 46:26
Speaker 1: third goal. I think that Man City defense is too
• 46:30
Speaker 1: difficult to own. I think Harlan you have to have.
• 46:32
Speaker 1: I still think that you have to have him, particularly
• 46:35
Speaker 1: when you know you consider the fixtures Wolves Southampton Port
• 46:38
Speaker 1: with Brighton. I think you have to have Harlan. I
• 46:42
Speaker 1: struggle to own anyone else. Like when you think about
• 46:45
Speaker 1: is Covititch with the two goals this week, like, yeah,
• 46:48
  Speaker 1: I don't think. I still don't think that Foden is
• 46:50
Speaker 1: worth the nine plus.
• 46:53
Speaker 2: Do you have a college two goals ext hive is
• 46:55
Speaker 2: zero point twenty nine for both of them, so very
• 46:58
Speaker 2: unlikely score of one, let alone two, clearly missing Rogery,
• 47:03
Speaker 2: clearly missing De Bruyne. Foden brought back into the starting eleven.
• 47:06
Speaker 2: Is his first start in the in the Premier League.
• 47:10
Speaker 2: Looked okay in the opening spells but didn't really have
• 47:12
Speaker 2: a huge impact on it and it might take him
• 47:15
Speaker 2: a little bit of time to get up to speed.
• 47:16
Speaker 2: He's the one you know that I think you could
• 47:19
Speaker 2: potentially pair with Harlon just given how good the fixtures are,
• 47:21
Speaker 2: But he does feel like a punt given that there.
• 47:24
Speaker 1: At nine point three, can yeah nine point two?
• 47:27
Speaker 2: I think I think you can given the fact we've
• 47:30
Speaker 2: talked about Sakar and Palmer and Salah and their fixtures,
• 47:33
Speaker 2: but looking at City's fixtures, Wolves, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, there
• 47:39
Speaker 2: are goals to be had in those games, but it
• 47:43
Speaker 2: is a punt given how City have played in the
• 47:46
Speaker 2: last couple I don't hate it.
• 47:48
Speaker 3: I wouldn't tell people not to go for it.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: I think it's it's one that could potentially lead to
• 47:52
Speaker 2: because particularly you're going without Harlan, for example, you probably
• 47:55
Speaker 2: want to have a lottery ticket for the next two
• 47:58
Speaker 2: at least, and I think FODA probably is the one
• 48:00
Speaker 2: that you go for because there's no one else that
• 48:02
Speaker 2: I'd consider. But yeah, I do agree it is an
• 48:05
Speaker 2: expensive gamble and fair play to those doing it. It's
• 48:08
Speaker 2: not for me at the moment, no.
• 48:10
Speaker 1: I mean Bernardo with some points this week. Docu was
• 48:14
Speaker 1: some points this week. I think for me right now,
• 48:17
Speaker 1: even with the fixtures and I never thought i'd say this,
• 48:20
Speaker 1: but even with the fixtures for Man City the way
• 48:22
Speaker 1: that they are, I still think I'm just going with
• 48:23
  Speaker 1: Harlan and that's it because I don't feel like I
• 48:26
Speaker 1: can justify spending plus nine plus million on on FOD
• 48:30
Speaker 1: and when there's other players that you know, like Im
• 48:33
Speaker 1: Bombo and Brennan Johnson who we spoke about a lot.
• 48:35
Speaker 1: Those two I appreciate, but I'd rather have them in
• 48:38
Speaker 1: my team and not have that extra three million to find.
• 48:41
Speaker 1: I don't really like the cheaper assets at Man City though,
• 48:44
Speaker 1: that kind of six to seven bracket, because I feel
• 48:47
Speaker 1: like you never really know who's going to return week
• 48:50
Speaker 1: upon week, Like one week it's somebody, the next week
• 48:52
Speaker 1: it's somebody different. It was Covitage this week, it could
• 48:54
Speaker 1: be Grealish next week. It could be Savvio next week.
• 48:56
Speaker 1: Like it changes so much at Man City that it's
• 48:59
Speaker 1: very very difficult to invest. Whereas at least with Harlan,
• 49:02
Speaker 1: I know it's back to about blanks, but before that
• 49:04
Speaker 1: he was absolutely flying. We'd had two hatchricks already. The
• 49:07
Speaker 1: fixtures coming up suggest that there should be many, many,
• 49:10
Speaker 1: many more points for Harlan in the coming week. So
• 49:13
Speaker 1: I'm just going to stick with him and probably not
• 49:15
Speaker 1: double up, which I don't love, because these are fixtures
• 49:18
Speaker 1: I would really want to target.
• 49:20
Speaker 2: It'll be interesting if if Foden gets a goal or
• 49:23
Speaker 2: a double digit haul against Wolves going into Southampton at home, Yeah,
• 49:27
Speaker 2: we're going to see heavy investment in him, and then
• 49:29
Speaker 2: I wonder if the narrative will change a little bit
• 49:31
Speaker 2: on pod and but I think I'm not moving until
• 49:35
Speaker 2: I see that that performance makes me kind of stand
• 49:38
Speaker 2: up and take note because of how well the other
• 49:40
Speaker 2: premiums are playing at the moment.
• 49:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, I'm totally with you on that. I
• 49:44
Speaker 1: just he's not a risk I want to take for
• 49:47
Speaker 1: that budget. If he was coming in at seven or eight,
• 49:49
Speaker 1: I might take the punt, but at over nine, I'm
• 49:53
Speaker 1: just going to wait for it.
• 49:54
Speaker 2: So I think we're probably not not thinking about POD
• 49:57
Speaker 2: at the moment, but we are heading into the next
• 49:59
Speaker 2: international break, another international break typical. If you've still got transfers,
• 50:05
Speaker 2: we haven't used them already, make sure you save those
• 50:07
Speaker 2: as late as you can. We know international breaks alike.
• 50:10
Speaker 2: But if you do to have the world card to play,
• 50:13
Speaker 2: then probably a good time to play and try and
• 50:15
Speaker 2: catch some some price rises as well.
• 50:18
Speaker 1: While you're tinkering with a wild card holding those transfers.
• 50:20
Speaker 1: Don't forget to join Geors, Kelly and I on the
• 50:23
Speaker 1: official Pod this week. We'll be back in the studio
• 50:25
Speaker 1: together this time around, reflecting on the opening seven game
• 50:28
Speaker 1: weeks and thinking about our plans for the upcoming weeks.
• 50:31
Speaker 2: If you haven't already joined the FPL Pod Mini League,
• 50:34
Speaker 2: the code is Q seven y C zero.
• 50:38
Speaker 1: Oh As it's always a pleasure even when Spurs have
• 50:41
  Speaker 1: lost to Brighton.
• 50:44
Speaker 2: I thought I was quite nice to you about that game.
• 50:46
Speaker 2: I mean, what a match though. I mean we talked
• 50:48
Speaker 2: about a villa of Manchester United. It wasn't the best
• 50:50
Speaker 2: game leading up to it, but our teams delivered the entertainment, Sam,
• 50:53
Speaker 2: I think we should be very proud.
• 50:55
Speaker 1: We should. I might go back to crying now, so
• 50:57
Speaker 1: I see you soon, as see you soon.
