- 0:00Speaker 1: Show me the money.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Oh Hevanralik and his terrible mustache is joining us right
- 0:15Speaker 2: now from the athletic Evan. Yeah, I guess that's surfer
- 0:18Speaker 2: Die skater Die. I don't know what you're going for.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's not definitely not super Troopers. We'll just we'll say that, Okay.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yesterday it was announcing New York Yankees reached a deal
- 0:29Speaker 2: with Apollo Sports Capital. We're investing two point six billion
- 0:33Speaker 2: in the parent company the New York Yankees. What do
- 0:36Speaker 2: you say on this, Evandralic?
- 0:37Speaker 3: And does it how much?
- 0:38Speaker 2: This means the Yankees are worth ten plus billion because
- 0:41Speaker 2: they can only invest a certain amount right into a team.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Private equity groups are limited in how much they
- 0:48Speaker 1: can invest into a single team. It's one group can
- 0:51Speaker 1: have no more than fifteen percent of a single team,
- 0:54Speaker 1: and you cannot have more than thirty percent between multiple
- 0:57Speaker 1: firms for one team. This is a little bit complicated
- 1:01Speaker 1: because the transaction, the two point six billion dollars is
- 1:04Speaker 1: an investment in the parent company of the Yankees. It's
- 1:07Speaker 1: called Yankee Global Enterprises, so that includes the Yankees, but
- 1:11Speaker 1: it is not only the Yankees. That parent company has
- 1:13Speaker 1: a slice in ac Milan NYCFC, another soccer team. They
- 1:19Speaker 1: operate some of the Yes network. So what my reporting
- 1:24Speaker 1: showed two sources who said this values the Yankees themselves
- 1:29Speaker 1: at close to ten billion dollars. So that might ultimately
- 1:32Speaker 1: be nine points something billion, which is somewhat in line
- 1:36Speaker 1: with one of the public projections I think with Sportico
- 1:39Speaker 1: in the spring peg the Yankees at nine point four billion.
- 1:42Speaker 1: What's the bottom line here. It gives the Yankees some cash.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It is an infusion of money for what is still
- 1:49Speaker 1: ultimately a family run team. And a lot of times
- 1:52Speaker 1: now these family run teams, the only place you can
- 1:54Speaker 1: kind of turn is to what's called institutional investors, the
- 1:59Speaker 1: private equity firm. And we're seeing it across baseball. We're
- 2:02Speaker 1: seeing it across the other leagues, the continued interests that
- 2:06Speaker 1: these private equity groups have in getting their hand into
- 2:10Speaker 1: the pot that keeps growing in baseball.
- 2:13Speaker 4: All right, stay with me here, we're gonna put on
- 2:15Speaker 4: this We're gonna put on this hat.
- 2:18Speaker 3: There was this idea.
- 2:21Speaker 4: That when Trek Scuba went to the Dodgers across the
- 2:25Speaker 4: league that a small market team like the Detroit Tigers
- 2:28Speaker 4: are allowing the Dodgers to go out and win so
- 2:31Speaker 4: they can hopefully get a lockout in a salary cap.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Now you have a team like the New York Yankees,
- 2:37Speaker 4: are they flexing on the other owners because there is
- 2:39Speaker 4: this idea that the lockout is Yes, it's between the
- 2:42Speaker 4: owners and the players, but there's a lot of different
- 2:45Speaker 4: layers of ownership group somewhat the salary cap. Teams like
- 2:48Speaker 4: the Yankees in a big market probably don't want the
- 2:50Speaker 4: salary cap. Is this an idea of the Yankees flexing
- 2:53Speaker 4: and being like, we don't want a salary cap? This
- 2:56Speaker 4: is actually and they're kind of in order for a
- 2:58Speaker 4: private equity team to invest in them, they have to
- 3:01Speaker 4: open the books so they know this team is profitable.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, how much they open the books is an interesting
- 3:07Speaker 1: question because Rob Manford at the All Star Game you're
- 3:09Speaker 1: talking to reporters said that they're very limited in the
- 3:12Speaker 1: information they give. Obviously, there's got to be some information
- 3:15Speaker 1: that flows, But to the larger question, is this flexing.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I spent a lot of yesterday trying to sort through
- 3:23Speaker 1: kind of the dueling narratives of this. On one side,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you've got I talked to Joel Wolfe to Scott Boris,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you to top agents who are saying, look, this shows
- 3:33Speaker 1: the health of the business. If the Yankees are getting
- 3:35Speaker 1: two point six billion dollars or the parent company the
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yankees is getting that amount of money, things are going
- 3:41Speaker 1: pretty good. It's hard to sneeze at that amount of money.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And then on the other side you have people who
- 3:46Speaker 1: will say, well, you know, the fact that they needed
- 3:49Speaker 1: or wanted the cash at all, what does that tell you?
- 3:52Speaker 1: And also if still if you look out a the
- 3:55Speaker 1: NBA and the NFL, these franchises are valued higher. And
- 3:59Speaker 1: then today we have news that the Lakers are being
- 4:03Speaker 1: sold now for twelve billion, which is you know, the Lakers,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I believe the highest valued franchise in the NBA. Could
- 4:10Speaker 1: be wrong on that, and the Yankees still are the
- 4:14Speaker 1: highest valued franchise in baseball. And so you have the
- 4:17Speaker 1: basketball one trading at higher than the baseball one. It's
- 4:21Speaker 1: a feeling on the ownership side that yeah, this is
- 4:24Speaker 1: this is good, but it could be better. And that's
- 4:26Speaker 1: the argument for a cap that they're making is not
- 4:30Speaker 1: necessarily that it's bad, although some people do try to
- 4:33Speaker 1: swing it that way, but that it could be a
- 4:35Speaker 1: lot better. That if you look at the other leagues.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It should it should be even more than this. And
- 4:40Speaker 1: then on the player side, it's you guys are doing fine.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Your valuation is now close
- 4:47Speaker 1: to ten billion dollars? What are you complaining about?
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Evan, does this mean the Yankees are poor?
- 4:53Speaker 5: Is it?
- 4:54Speaker 3: I mean?
- 4:54Speaker 6: I just?
- 4:56Speaker 3: I mean? And what does what role does this change
- 4:58Speaker 3: for the Steying in her family?
- 5:00Speaker 7: Right?
- 5:01Speaker 5: Is?
- 5:01Speaker 3: How does this change how's role?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Does Apollo get any stake in making decisions? Or are
- 5:07Speaker 2: they just investing cash to try to help the Yankees
- 5:10Speaker 2: get out of debt so someone can go buy something
- 5:13Speaker 2: a new jet or something. Right, Because I don't a
- 5:15Speaker 2: lot of people, including myself, don't know enough about this
- 5:18Speaker 2: to understand what this truly means. Can you explain it
- 5:21Speaker 2: in you know, polish dumb people terms, please?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah. The most simple is they they now have more
- 5:28Speaker 1: cash on hand. The question, the heart of it, what
- 5:31Speaker 1: you're asking, is, well, what do they want that for?
- 5:34Speaker 1: And that at this point is a little bit of
- 5:37Speaker 1: informed speculation. I talked to some people who have some
- 5:41Speaker 1: knowledge of the deal who said that this isn't because
- 5:45Speaker 1: there's some big thing coming up, Although it was noted that, look,
- 5:48Speaker 1: if you're going to go into a long lockout, doesn't
- 5:50Speaker 1: hurt to have more cash on hand. The Yankees do
- 5:53Speaker 1: have a lot of debt from the stadium construction, that's
- 5:56Speaker 1: still a part of it, and a lot of teams
- 5:58Speaker 1: have debt here, and so ultimately, you know, how the
- 6:01Speaker 1: Steinbrenner family wants to use this money. Is this to
- 6:04Speaker 1: satisfy demands or requests from other members of the family.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Sometimes when you have family run teams, you end up
- 6:14Speaker 1: with a lot of hands out basically, you know, and
- 6:18Speaker 1: sometimes it can lead to teams being sold. Fully, I'm
- 6:20Speaker 1: not saying that's going to happen here. There's a lot
- 6:23Speaker 1: of reasons it could be, but it doesn't seem that
- 6:27Speaker 1: the answer at this point. There's no evidence to this
- 6:29Speaker 1: point that the answer is the Yankees are truly cash
- 6:32Speaker 1: poor and absolutely needed a liquidity. It could be as
- 6:35Speaker 1: simple as they liked the valuation they got. If somebody
- 6:40Speaker 1: is willing to pay at your market rate or maybe
- 6:43Speaker 1: a little bit above it. In the case of the Yankees,
- 6:46Speaker 1: if you're approaching ten billion dollars, you might say, okay,
- 6:49Speaker 1: come on in, we'll we'll take that money. Now. The
- 6:53Speaker 1: interesting question a little bit is well, if the owners
- 6:56Speaker 1: get a salary cap, those values are going to go up.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And so if they waited a year year, maybe they
- 7:01Speaker 1: could even get more if indeed the owner's got a cap.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But that's no promise they get a cap. And part
- 7:06Speaker 1: of the appeal right now, if you're a private equity
- 7:09Speaker 1: group trying to get involved with baseball, is well, if
- 7:13Speaker 1: they get a cap, my investment will go up right away.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They they see the earning potential with a cap in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the near future. And so you know which of those
- 7:24Speaker 1: forces really motivated the Yankees. We just aren't totally sure
- 7:28Speaker 1: at this point. But it doesn't seem like they, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: were unable to write checks or anything like that. Certainly
- 7:35Speaker 1: certainly no evidence of.
- 7:36Speaker 6: That science experiment. For the one minute, we have to
- 7:41Speaker 6: tell you about why we love quints electrolytes including watermelon salt,
- 7:45Speaker 6: raspberry salt. And I'm holding a citrus salt, just opened
- 7:48Speaker 6: it and pour some powder into my water, shake it up,
- 7:51Speaker 6: and AJ, why do you love it?
- 7:52Speaker 2: I love quints because after a long night out, a
- 7:55Speaker 2: long day at the gym, a long walk in this
- 7:57Speaker 2: Florida humidity, it tastes great and It gives me all
- 7:59Speaker 2: the electrolytes I need. Why sugar free, Stevia free, Keto
- 8:04Speaker 2: approve and taste sweet because of that delicious fermented rice.
- 8:10Speaker 6: It does taste really good. I'm drinking it right now
- 8:13Speaker 6: while we talking about it. It's also made in the USA,
- 8:15Speaker 6: rigorously third party tested. Give your body what it really
- 8:19Speaker 6: needs to stay hydrated. Go to quints dot com slash
- 8:21Speaker 6: foul for free shipping on your order and three sixty
- 8:23Speaker 6: five day returns. That's q u i Ncee dot com
- 8:26Speaker 6: slash fu l for free shipping and three sixty five
- 8:28Speaker 6: day returns Quinn dot com slash foul. These statements have
- 8:31Speaker 6: not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This
- 8:33Speaker 6: product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent
- 8:36Speaker 6: any disease.
- 8:38Speaker 4: From the player side and the Players Association side, is
- 8:41Speaker 4: this great timing because I think franchise values are always
- 8:46Speaker 4: kind of implied, but when you actually get concrete evidence
- 8:50Speaker 4: the padre selling for what they sold for and then
- 8:52Speaker 4: this investment to the Yankees. Is this great timing for
- 8:55Speaker 4: the Players Association?
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think it's it gives a compelling narrative talking point
- 9:04Speaker 1: to look the Joe wolfsm Scott or so. I talked
- 9:07Speaker 1: to you guys today, to Bruce Meyer, the head of
- 9:09Speaker 1: the Union, and I think it should be eye opening
- 9:12Speaker 1: to players that this amount of money and these valuations
- 9:17Speaker 1: are coming in to club owners. It's kind of an
- 9:21Speaker 1: incontrovertible fact that these franchises are worth a lot of money.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It doesn't out of hand defeat an argument of well,
- 9:30Speaker 1: could it be better? None of this conversation should be around.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Is it truly bad? I think it's hard to argue
- 9:39Speaker 1: anything that's selling in the billions is bad, even in
- 9:42Speaker 1: a relative sense that the owner arguments center on it
- 9:48Speaker 1: could be better. The other leagues are are making more.
- 9:52Speaker 1: There's something called revenue multiple. So when the NBA and
- 9:55Speaker 1: NFL franchises sell, they might sell for ten, eleven, twelve
- 9:58Speaker 1: times what they bring in annually, and in baseball that's
- 10:02Speaker 1: been six times seven times. And you got the small
- 10:07Speaker 1: market owners who will go, well, all right, the Yankees
- 10:09Speaker 1: got that, but what about us, you know, the Washington
- 10:12Speaker 1: Nationals I believe in. You know, in recent years, their
- 10:16Speaker 1: value has, according to the public lists like Forbes, appreciated
- 10:21Speaker 1: the least. You know, So even if the Yankees and
- 10:23Speaker 1: the Dodgers are doing well. It still kind of fits
- 10:25Speaker 1: in with that narrative that they have of the haves
- 10:28Speaker 1: and the have nots. But yeah, for the player purposes,
- 10:32Speaker 1: for the union purposes to be able to say, there's
- 10:35Speaker 1: a lot of money over there, what's the problem. There's
- 10:38Speaker 1: certainly some validity to that argument.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Heavan.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Every sport has differences. The Lakers sold for twelve billion, Whoever,
- 10:45Speaker 2: the next team in the NBA won't sell for that much.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So it just depends the Cowboys are worth more than
- 10:49Speaker 2: another team, and they're in salary cap leagues. So that
- 10:52Speaker 2: that argument is is.
- 10:53Speaker 3: What it is.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It's going to be made repeatedly, repeatedly, repeatedly, whatever. But
- 10:57Speaker 2: how much does this franchise of valuation? How much is
- 11:01Speaker 2: that going to factor do you think into the CBA?
- 11:03Speaker 2: You kind of hit on a little bit. But isn't
- 11:05Speaker 2: this the biggest thing? Because if they do get a
- 11:07Speaker 2: salary cap, it'll make their franchise values go more. Then
- 11:10Speaker 2: they can borrow against the franchise values to do other things.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So how important is this franchise evaluation? And now with
- 11:17Speaker 2: the Yankees setting the bar at I guess ten billion ish,
- 11:21Speaker 2: you know whatever. However, you want to play with the numbers, right,
- 11:24Speaker 2: So how much does this matter in the CBA.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Well, you know, just to your first point real quick there, Aja, Yeah,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you can make an argument that, well, if you wanted
- 11:33Speaker 1: a basketball or hockey or basketball or football type of valuation,
- 11:37Speaker 1: you should have bought a basketball or football franchise, right, true,
- 11:41Speaker 1: And I think there is some tension around even inside
- 11:45Speaker 1: of baseball the big markets in the small markets, where
- 11:47Speaker 1: when you buy a big market franchise, you are buying
- 11:50Speaker 1: the set of rights and grants that come with that
- 11:53Speaker 1: big market. And you know this evening of the playing
- 11:56Speaker 1: field idea, well Scott wors talks about it a lot,
- 11:59Speaker 1: but there's some validity to it. You know, you want
- 12:03Speaker 1: to let your best owners run free and have the
- 12:06Speaker 1: ability to separate themselves to some degree. But that said,
- 12:10Speaker 1: in a cap system, all of the franchises would benefit.
- 12:15Speaker 1: And that gets to what you're asking about with with
- 12:17Speaker 1: franchise values. If you have fixed labor costs, if you know,
- 12:20Speaker 1: going in every year, how much money you're going to
- 12:23Speaker 1: spend on labor, and by the league argument, if things
- 12:28Speaker 1: are just a little bit more equal and the small
- 12:30Speaker 1: markets are kind of propped up a bit. Well, then
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know it lifts all the boats. All the franchise
- 12:38Speaker 1: values go up. Here when you're talking about a workstoppage
- 12:42Speaker 1: and you're talking about potentially missing billions of dollars, you
- 12:45Speaker 1: don't miss billions of dollars in revenue unless you think
- 12:48Speaker 1: in the long run it will make you billions of
- 12:50Speaker 1: dollars and some x number more. And so as much
- 12:54Speaker 1: as the league frames everything around competitive balance, it is
- 12:57Speaker 1: about money. And if you at a cap, if you're
- 13:00Speaker 1: the owners, you make your franchises instantly more valuable. But
- 13:05Speaker 1: it's not the easiest thing to say we're going to
- 13:07Speaker 1: sacrifice the short term for the long term. Everybody can
- 13:11Speaker 1: kind of think that's a nice idea, but there's a
- 13:14Speaker 1: lot of pain that it would take to go through
- 13:16Speaker 1: with that. But yeah, the franchise values are a central
- 13:22Speaker 1: piece of all this. If you remember four five years ago,
- 13:25Speaker 1: right after the last CBA, Manford convened this group called
- 13:29Speaker 1: the Economic Reform Committee, And what he said last year
- 13:33Speaker 1: at a Brave Public Investor invent was that the purpose
- 13:37Speaker 1: of that was to look at franchise values. And so
- 13:41Speaker 1: it is a like he's the CEO of Baseball, Rob
- 13:44Speaker 1: Manford if you're the CEO of baseball, one of your,
- 13:47Speaker 1: if not the top concern is what is the worth
- 13:50Speaker 1: of the company of the assets, its shareholder value? You
- 13:55Speaker 1: know it is. I don't think it's a stretch to
- 13:58Speaker 1: say the most important thing.
- 14:00Speaker 4: All right, I got one final question for you, and
- 14:02Speaker 4: to forgive my being naive on this topic, how long
- 14:07Speaker 4: has private equity been in the game of baseball? And
- 14:10Speaker 4: do you see more teams taking loans from private equity
- 14:15Speaker 4: selling shares of private equity? And would it be a
- 14:18Speaker 4: bad idea for a small quote unquote small market team
- 14:22Speaker 4: to take money from a private equity team, because then
- 14:24Speaker 4: we would actually really know what the franchise value is.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I believe the first year this was allowed in baseball
- 14:31Speaker 1: was twenty nineteen. It might have been twenty eighteen, but
- 14:33Speaker 1: it was right before the start of the pandemic that
- 14:35Speaker 1: Baseball and then the other leagues started to allow private
- 14:39Speaker 1: equity in. And you know, they put this cap on
- 14:42Speaker 1: it so that they don't theoretically have a lot of
- 14:47Speaker 1: sway over or ideally any sway over the ultimate decision making. Right,
- 14:51Speaker 1: the pe firm cannot be the controlling partner, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 1: the one person vote when they have all the you know,
- 14:59Speaker 1: an all thirty club vote. But what could happen over
- 15:03Speaker 1: time here is that the leagues could change their rules
- 15:06Speaker 1: and say, okay, we'll let somebody in at a higher percentage.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Even at this percentage, I think there's some background concern of, well,
- 15:15Speaker 1: how will this affect the operation of teams long term?
- 15:19Speaker 1: PE gets involved to eventually make money there is there's
- 15:23Speaker 1: also some glamour with it. You know, it's kind of
- 15:25Speaker 1: a trophy asset for your for your fund if you're
- 15:30Speaker 1: involved in it. So it's not apples to apples with
- 15:33Speaker 1: everything else that private equity gets involved with. But at
- 15:37Speaker 1: some point they're going to want to return, and so
- 15:39Speaker 1: that puts pressure on the league to do things like
- 15:42Speaker 1: get a salary cap and whatever other ways. You know
- 15:46Speaker 1: that the PE firm might say, hey, could we try
- 15:48Speaker 1: to make some more money here? You know, should should
- 15:51Speaker 1: teams take it? Well? Teams love to make money, uh,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and if you can get a cash infusion from an
- 15:58Speaker 1: institutional investor, a lot of them are going to go,
- 16:01Speaker 1: well why not? This might raise our franchise values. And
- 16:05Speaker 1: in a lot of cases now the teams sell for
- 16:07Speaker 1: so much that it's not super easy, or as easy
- 16:10Speaker 1: as it might have once been, to find people who
- 16:12Speaker 1: can afford to buy into these teams as individuals. You know,
- 16:16Speaker 1: it almost takes a group of people these days, or
- 16:21Speaker 1: at least kind of the help of an institution, to
- 16:24Speaker 1: be able to get these deals done. As these things
- 16:26Speaker 1: keep climbing and climbing. So yeah, if you want your
- 16:28Speaker 1: franchise values to climb, you can. If you can find
- 16:31Speaker 1: a PE firm that'll buy it by a slice of
- 16:34Speaker 1: your team at a higher rate than you might have
- 16:37Speaker 1: otherwise thought you could get, you're probably gonna do it
- 16:41Speaker 1: all right.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Well perfect, we're gonna get Pe to invest in Foul Territory.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I heard they're going to put it give us about
- 16:46Speaker 2: a billion, Evan, So.
- 16:48Speaker 3: We're all set. Thanks a, Paula. We love you, guys.
- 16:51Speaker 3: We'll talk to you soon. Devan.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Thank you, Evan, seriously check out more of his work
- 16:54Speaker 2: at the Athletic if you want business, baseball, sports, whatever
- 16:57Speaker 2: it is.
- 16:58Speaker 3: And but bad mustaches.
- 16:59Speaker 2: I don't know who told you to do that, Evan,
- 17:01Speaker 2: but next time we see you, I'm hoping that it's gone.
- 17:03Speaker 3: So thanks Evan.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I live in California now, baby, What else can I tell?
- 17:07Speaker 2: You perfect, perfect, perfect, Thanks Evan, we'll talk to you soon.
- 17:13Speaker 6: Let's talk Fabletics, shall we. They have apparel for every season.
- 17:18Speaker 6: We're wearing it as we talk about it. It's soft,
- 17:20Speaker 6: it's comfortable. I wear it on the show sometimes on FT.
- 17:23Speaker 6: What else do you love about it?
- 17:24Speaker 1: Krats?
- 17:25Speaker 8: Well, I have it on right now and I'm all
- 17:27Speaker 8: about quality. But you know what, you know how good
- 17:31Speaker 8: your clothes are when you're a parent and your kids
- 17:34Speaker 8: keep stealing all of it. My daughter stole the sweatshirt,
- 17:37Speaker 8: my son sole one of my t shirts. So it's
- 17:40Speaker 8: got to be nice looking.

- 18:13Speaker 1: Just wanted to pull up captroll.
- 18:18Speaker 9: All right, boy? We needed that one. That was a
- 18:22Speaker 9: good game. Welcome back, everybody. Game one hundred and twenty
- 18:26Speaker 9: is in the books. The Yankees win this one with
- 18:28Speaker 9: an offensive outburst like we have not seen from them
- 18:32Speaker 9: in quite a while. Ten runs. They win this one,
- 18:35Speaker 9: ten to five. There's a lot of action in this game.
- 18:38Speaker 9: This felt like an actual baseball game and not like
- 18:40Speaker 9: a soccer match. Pretty fun game. I love the way
- 18:45Speaker 9: ESPN was mixing the sound tonight. Normally I'm not an
- 18:47Speaker 9: ESPN fan, but the way they put the emphasis in
- 18:51Speaker 9: the sound mixing on the bat contact, that was awesome.
- 18:57Speaker 9: I mean that was awesome tonight. Just a kudo to
- 19:00Speaker 9: their production team. Great night for Spencer Jones, who had,
- 19:03Speaker 9: in my opinion, his best night in the Major League
- 19:07Speaker 9: so far. He had a really good at pat to
- 19:11Speaker 9: before lining a double off the left field wall. He
- 19:14Speaker 9: had two hits tonight, two doubles and three RBI, so
- 19:19Speaker 9: a very good night for Spencer Jones. Getting more comfortable.
- 19:23Speaker 9: We had two home runs tonight from mister Trent Grisham,
- 19:27Speaker 9: who is beginning to heat up. I mentioned it before
- 19:32Speaker 9: the series that he was hitting the ball harder last night.
- 19:34Speaker 9: I mentioned the contact from him has been louder and tonight,
- 19:37Speaker 9: the contact was really loud, even with the ESPN cameras
- 19:40Speaker 9: boosting it a little bit. Three for five, two home runs,
- 19:43Speaker 9: four RBIs, three runs scored, got the average up to
- 19:46Speaker 9: two twenty two to fifteen home runs and fifty RBIs.
- 19:49Speaker 9: Now for the mustachioed one, however, I will say there
- 19:56Speaker 9: was a pop up to center field, and I don't
- 19:58Speaker 9: know what was going on. I don't know if he
- 20:00Speaker 9: was finishing a game of words with friends or something
- 20:02Speaker 9: like that, but he took forever to charge in on
- 20:06Speaker 9: a routine pop up that he should have been camped under,
- 20:09Speaker 9: and it did not look like Will Warren appreciated it
- 20:12Speaker 9: very much. He also had a double, go ahead double,
- 20:16Speaker 9: So good night for him, Rocky night for Will Warren.
- 20:20Speaker 9: What can you say about him?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Time to stop throwing these game.
- 20:24Speaker 9: Bars, five runs, four walks and three home runs for
- 20:29Speaker 9: Will Warren, who was probably moving to the bullpen in
- 20:31Speaker 9: the pretty near future. But we had the first major
- 20:36Speaker 9: league error from George Lombard Junior. But he also had
- 20:40Speaker 9: a couple of rope absolute line drive singles. As he
- 20:44Speaker 9: continues to impress every single day. Even when he makes
- 20:48Speaker 9: an error, he does something impressive multi hit game. Now
- 20:51Speaker 9: in his limited major league duty, hitting three twenty with
- 20:55Speaker 9: two home runs, two RBIs in a one to sixty
- 20:58Speaker 9: six WRC plus, he has struck out of the time,
- 21:01Speaker 9: still looking for that first double, that first triple, and
- 21:04Speaker 9: that first stolen base. Three ninety three on base percentage.
- 21:07Speaker 9: He's shown a really patient eye, and aside from the air,
- 21:10Speaker 9: he's looked fantastic at shortstop. But errors happen. Everybody's gonna
- 21:14Speaker 9: make airrors. Don't worry about it. You had a number
- 21:16Speaker 9: of extra base hits tonight. Austin Wells ripped a double.
- 21:20Speaker 9: You had Rice not gonna run by the way wearing
- 21:22Speaker 9: my Ben a Roy's shirt here courtesy of the foul
- 21:26Speaker 9: Territory Shop. Go to foul Territory shop dot com for that.
- 21:29Speaker 9: Yankees turned a couple of double plays tonight, and when
- 21:31Speaker 9: the dust settled, they had themselves a ten to five win,
- 21:35Speaker 9: Paul Blackburn with the w Gabe Spear with the loss,
- 21:40Speaker 9: and Paul Blackburn sporting a one point nine zero ERA
- 21:44Speaker 9: this season. I did not anticipate that he has really, really,
- 21:50Speaker 9: really been good. We got a couple of comments here,
- 21:52Speaker 9: Tyler Revas says Ramos two for twenty four. Stince being
- 21:55Speaker 9: with the Yankees. Since coming with the Yankee coming to
- 21:57Speaker 9: the Yankees, he has not been great. And he had
- 22:00Speaker 9: another tough night tonight. And the way that Spencer Jones
- 22:03Speaker 9: is picking it up, and the way that Trent Grisham
- 22:06Speaker 9: is picking it up, you wonder if when Bellinger comes back,
- 22:08Speaker 9: if Ramos is gonna become that fourth outfielder on the bench.
- 22:12Speaker 9: OH for three in this game tonight. Has not done
- 22:14Speaker 9: much since being acquired from the San Francisco Giants at
- 22:17Speaker 9: the trade deadline. All right, let's talk about the good, bad,
- 22:20Speaker 9: and the ugly. So Trent Grisham gets a gold Star tonight,
- 22:28Speaker 9: three hits and two dingers, Ben Rice multi hit games,
- 22:32Speaker 9: Spencer Jones with a great night, Garcia had a tough
- 22:35Speaker 9: night oh for four, and Ramos so the new guys
- 22:37Speaker 9: oh for seven combined. Jazz one for three with a walk.
- 22:40Speaker 9: Ryan McMahon continues to heat up a little bit. He
- 22:42Speaker 9: had a double Wells with another extra base hit, and
- 22:45Speaker 9: then George Lombard Junior with a multi hit game. Good
- 22:49Speaker 9: day for the Yankees offense and runs. All right, so
- 22:55Speaker 9: let's get to the nitty gritty and kind of go
- 22:58Speaker 9: through the main takeaways here. First off, the bullpen deserves
- 23:04Speaker 9: a ton of credit. Tonight Warren obviously did not have it,
- 23:07Speaker 9: but Tim Hill, Paul Blackburn, and Brent Hedrick were all dealing.
- 23:13Speaker 9: Hendrick has been amazing, just amazing this season. What can
- 23:18Speaker 9: you say about the guy? Total surprise, total surprise. And
- 23:24Speaker 9: tonight another scoreless inning with three punches. Deal Santos also
- 23:29Speaker 9: threw a scoreless inning, although he allowed two hits. Also
- 23:34Speaker 9: with this Yankees win, they don't gain any ground on
- 23:39Speaker 9: the Rays because the Rays won today too, but they
- 23:42Speaker 9: do gain on the Boston Red Sox and Boston Red
- 23:44Speaker 9: Sox have hit a little bit of a skid after
- 23:46Speaker 9: that unbelievable hot streak. Randy and ross Arena and Julio
- 23:50Speaker 9: Rodriguez opposite field home runs in the first inning off
- 23:53Speaker 9: of Warren. You knew it wasn't gonna be Warren's night.
- 23:55Speaker 9: At that point, Kevin lar was like, you know, let's
- 23:59Speaker 9: probably not a home run in a lot of stadiums. Meanwhile,
- 24:02Speaker 9: the ball's landing in the second deck. I think that
- 24:03Speaker 9: the Julio's home run was probably a home run pretty
- 24:06Speaker 9: much everywhere. In the second inning, you know, there's a
- 24:08Speaker 9: pop up to center field. I don't know what Grishaan
- 24:12Speaker 9: was doing. I mean, was he reading the newspaper? What
- 24:14Speaker 9: was he doing? He was taken all day to react
- 24:18Speaker 9: to that pop up. It was like that scene in
- 24:21Speaker 9: Nightmare and Elm Street where Freddy is chasing Nancy up
- 24:24Speaker 9: the stairs and the stairs turn to like quicksand this
- 24:27Speaker 9: like mushy oatmeal goo, and she can't get up the
- 24:31Speaker 9: stairs and Freddy's chasing her. That's what I think. I
- 24:34Speaker 9: think Christiaan was having a Freddy nightmare. He could not run,
- 24:38Speaker 9: but he did make up for it with his bat.
- 24:40Speaker 9: Big home run to cut the lead in the fifth inning,
- 24:43Speaker 9: swung at the first pitch, no doubter, a lot more
- 24:45Speaker 9: hard contact, go ahead double in the seventh, and a
- 24:48Speaker 9: two run shot in the eighth.
- 24:52Speaker 5: League.
- 24:52Speaker 9: Choose that building up the little so some positives and
- 24:56Speaker 9: some negatives. Will the negative hold him back from getting
- 25:00Speaker 9: the belt we'll see in just a minute. Don't change
- 25:02Speaker 9: that station. McMahon been swinging it better lately, ripped in
- 25:07Speaker 9: RBI double. Let's take a look at McMahon's numbers as
- 25:10Speaker 9: we zoom out on him a little bit, or zoom
- 25:12Speaker 9: in on him. So two for four in this game
- 25:15Speaker 9: with an RBI now hitting two twenty ten home run
- 25:17Speaker 9: six to sixty three ops eighty four WRC plus, so
- 25:20Speaker 9: you're taking a sixteen percent hit from league average offensively
- 25:25Speaker 9: with him, but he does give you a lot defensively
- 25:28Speaker 9: on base percentage I wish was higher with him. The
- 25:32Speaker 9: way he plays defense. I can tolerate a low average,
- 25:34Speaker 9: but I want him to walk a little bit more,
- 25:36Speaker 9: maybe hit for a little bit more power with a
- 25:38Speaker 9: two twenty average. If you're playing good defense and you
- 25:42Speaker 9: hit twenty five homers and get on base at a
- 25:45Speaker 9: three to twenty clip, you'll take it. If you're playing
- 25:48Speaker 9: great defense, that is. But we'd love to see him
- 25:51Speaker 9: get hot. He got off to a slow start. We'll
- 25:52Speaker 9: see how it shakes out. But been swinging the bat
- 25:55Speaker 9: better lately. I love the double by Austin Wells in
- 25:58Speaker 9: the third inning. It was a good He roped it
- 26:01Speaker 9: into the right field corner, and all year long he's
- 26:04Speaker 9: been swinging over that down and in pitch, and today
- 26:08Speaker 9: he basically just pull his hands in and drop the
- 26:11Speaker 9: barrel of the bat on it, and again it sounded fantastic.
- 26:15Speaker 9: Austin Wells creeping up towards two hundred. Take a look
- 26:19Speaker 9: at his numbers here, he is at one eighty, so
- 26:23Speaker 9: not quite, but he's he's creeping. Let me know in
- 26:26Speaker 9: the chat if you think Austin Wells is gonna get
- 26:28Speaker 9: to two hundred with the average before the season is over.
- 26:31Speaker 9: But yeah, I mean eight home runs seventeen RBIs obviously
- 26:35Speaker 9: not productive this year. You just hope he can finish strong.
- 26:38Speaker 9: He's not gonna hit thirty home runs. He's not gonna
- 26:41Speaker 9: probably even hit fifteen home runs. Just finish strong, you had.
- 26:48Speaker 9: Let's see Spencer Jones, in my opinion, the best game
- 26:51Speaker 9: of his young career, the best a bat of his
- 26:53Speaker 9: career was the out two runners on double in the
- 26:59Speaker 9: third inning. Fouled off a ton of pitches. The announcers
- 27:01Speaker 9: we're talking about how he never hits the ball well
- 27:03Speaker 9: to left field. He waits on it. He drives that
- 27:06Speaker 9: ball off the left field wall, and then he hit
- 27:08Speaker 9: one off the right field wall later in the game,
- 27:10Speaker 9: one oh five point nine off the bat, And I
- 27:12Speaker 9: think he's beginning to realize that when he cuts back
- 27:14Speaker 9: on his swing and just makes contact, that he's got
- 27:18Speaker 9: the strength to do some damage. He's just so strong,
- 27:22Speaker 9: and I like how everybody who sees him has an
- 27:25Speaker 9: immediate opinion on why he can be better. Guys in
- 27:27Speaker 9: the booth tonight saying, oh, just back off the plate
- 27:29Speaker 9: six inches. You know, I'm sure the Yankees have looked
- 27:32Speaker 9: at every possible way to get this guy going, because
- 27:35Speaker 9: the athletic skills and the power is just so apparent.
- 27:39Speaker 9: I never thought he had a chance to become Aaron Judge,
- 27:42Speaker 9: and I still don't, but I do think he's got
- 27:44Speaker 9: a chance to become the good version of Joey Gallo,
- 27:47Speaker 9: a guy who hits like two thirty to forty at
- 27:49Speaker 9: least because he hits the ball so hard, with forty
- 27:52Speaker 9: plus home runs and outstanding defense on top of it.
- 27:55Speaker 9: He has really impressed me more than anybody this year.
- 27:58Speaker 9: He has been I mean, I shouldn't say impressed me
- 28:01Speaker 9: more than anybody. Obviously guys are having better years, but
- 28:04Speaker 9: from my expectations of him to what he's actually done,
- 28:08Speaker 9: he's he's been better than I thought. And Grisham presumably
- 28:12Speaker 9: beginning to heap back up. You wonder how the outfield
- 28:15Speaker 9: situation is gonna work when Bellinger's back. I'd have to
- 28:18Speaker 9: assume it's Grisham in center, Spencer Jones in right, and
- 28:23Speaker 9: Bellinger in left, and Ramos to the bench, and then
- 28:27Speaker 9: when Judge comes back, I guess you just play the
- 28:29Speaker 9: hot hand in center field. So we'll see how it
- 28:31Speaker 9: shakes out. But the Yankees win this one, Oh name Alter,
- 28:36Speaker 9: Yankees win. Yank. All right, I'm gonna give Grisham the belt,
- 28:48Speaker 9: but we're gonna do it by say don't let that
- 28:50Speaker 9: shit happen in center field again. You gotta catch that
- 28:54Speaker 9: baseball and whoops, here we go. All right, right, Tran
- 29:04Speaker 9: Grisham with a belt. One of the most two mustache
- 29:09Speaker 9: rides tonight. And you know what, if he starts hitting,
- 29:14Speaker 9: it's a really good thing for the Yankees because when
- 29:16Speaker 9: he gets hot, he's a guy who's got a short swing.
- 29:19Speaker 9: He gets hit. He gets hits in clutch situations, as
- 29:22Speaker 9: we saw today, and for him, that's six belts this year.
- 29:25Speaker 9: That's just this shows that he has, you know, the
- 29:27Speaker 9: difference making ability in the game. So nice job by
- 29:31Speaker 9: Trent Grisham.
- 29:33Speaker 6: This is that time of year, aj It is Baseball's
- 29:36Speaker 6: time to shine, and it is Sea Geek's time to
- 29:39Speaker 6: shine with MLB tickets and finding the best pricing, seating
- 29:44Speaker 6: and games that are even sold out available on sea Geek.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Absolutely if you want to go to the biggest matchups
- 29:51Speaker 2: coming up. We have Yankees Cubs coming up. Where's Yankees
- 29:54Speaker 2: red Sox? That means stuff Again, there's some big moments
- 29:56Speaker 2: that are coming up here in the as the penachases.
- 29:59Speaker 10: Really heat up.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Go to c you can find those green tickets with
- 30:02Speaker 2: the best deals and get yourself out to an MLB game.
- 30:06Speaker 6: Yeah, and they're straightforward with you. They will actually put
- 30:08Speaker 6: a red dot next to a ticket that they don't
- 30:11Speaker 6: feel is your best.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Look.
- 30:13Speaker 6: Green dot means very good code for you. It's Territory
- 30:18Speaker 6: ten ten percent off your next set of MLB tickets
- 30:21Speaker 6: at skeek. That's ten percent off MLB tickets when you
- 30:25Speaker 6: use the promo code Territory one zero. Make sure you
- 30:28Speaker 6: click the link in the description to download the app
- 30:30Speaker 6: and have the code automatically added to your account so
- 30:32Speaker 6: you can use it later.
- 30:34Speaker 9: Well one, is it worth even talking about. I'd rather
- 30:39Speaker 9: almost get to voicemails. I mean four innings, six hits,
- 30:42Speaker 9: five runs, four walks, three strikeouts, not a good night
- 30:45Speaker 9: topped out at ninety five even mix of the fastball
- 30:48Speaker 9: and sinker, and he was just hitting way too many
- 30:51Speaker 9: bats tonight. As I said, less meatballs. Game breakdown, Yankee said,
- 30:58Speaker 9: thirteen hits tonight. That was good to see, two home runs,
- 31:05Speaker 9: three walks. They still struck out eight times. Uh, they
- 31:08Speaker 9: left five men on. As a team, they hit three
- 31:11Speaker 9: thirty three with runners in scoring position tonight three for
- 31:13Speaker 9: nine and the pitching struck out eight of their own
- 31:18Speaker 9: and got basically almost two thirds of their pitches were
- 31:21Speaker 9: strikes tonight sixty four percent. Spencer Jones hardest hit ball
- 31:23Speaker 9: to night one oh five point nine and Yerry de
- 31:26Speaker 9: Los Sansos with the top pitch velocity at ninety seven.
- 31:30Speaker 9: So we take a look at the division here. Yankees win,
- 31:35Speaker 9: Raise win, Blue Jays beat the Red Sox, and the
- 31:39Speaker 9: Twins beat the Orioles. So the Yankees remained six games
- 31:43Speaker 9: back in the American League East. They still lead the
- 31:45Speaker 9: wild card four games over the Boston Red Sox, and
- 31:51Speaker 9: tomorrow we will have the final game in this series.
- 31:54Speaker 9: Yankees have won the first two. They will go for
- 31:56Speaker 9: the sweep. It's gonna be Logan Gilbert versus Max Freed,
- 31:59Speaker 9: Max Free two point eight to eight ERA this season
- 32:02Speaker 9: and he looks like he's fully back. The last couple
- 32:04Speaker 9: of times out he's been really strong, and I feel
- 32:06Speaker 9: like he's gonna give us a chance tomorrow to wrap
- 32:09Speaker 9: things up with a sweep on a Thursday afternoon game.
- 32:16Speaker 9: Take a look at where we're at in the series
- 32:18Speaker 9: so far. Trent Grisham so far has been your top
- 32:22Speaker 9: win probability impact five for nine in the series, Spencer
- 32:28Speaker 9: Jones having a good series, McMahon having a good year
- 32:32Speaker 9: or a good series. Ryan Weathers had a much higher
- 32:35Speaker 9: game score than Will Warren fifty seven. Will Warren was
- 32:38Speaker 9: at twenty five. And as we take a look at
- 32:41Speaker 9: the home runs in this series for the Yankees, both
- 32:45Speaker 9: by Trent Grisham. First one was in the fifth inning tonight,
- 32:50Speaker 9: it went three hundred and sixty four feet and the
- 32:52Speaker 9: second one was really clobber three hundred ninety eight feet
- 32:55Speaker 9: one hundred and three off the bat. Okay, quick word
- 32:58Speaker 9: from our sponsor tonightxtend back to take a few voicemails.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Science experiment for the one minute we have to tell
- 33:06Speaker 6: you about why we love Quint's electrolytes, including watermelon salt,

- 33:13Speaker 6: it and pour some powder into my water, shake it
- 33:16Speaker 6: up and AJ, why do you love it?
- 33:17Speaker 2: I love Quints because after a long night out, a
- 33:19Speaker 2: long day at the gym, a long walk in this
- 33:21Speaker 2: Florida humidity, it tastes great and it gives me all
- 33:24Speaker 2: the electrolytes I need. Why sugar free Stevy, a free
- 33:28Speaker 2: keto approve and taste sweet because of that delicious fermented rice.
- 33:35Speaker 6: It does taste really good. I'm drinking in right now

- 34:03Speaker 9: So there were some streakers tonight. If the Yankees win
- 34:08Speaker 9: one more, they will be streaking. Made one two straight.
- 34:10Speaker 9: We'll see if they can make it three tomorrow. Here's
- 34:12Speaker 9: Brian Man.
- 34:13Speaker 10: We've been saying it for a while. Derek, right, play
- 34:16Speaker 10: the US. Let's see what these guys can do out there. Man,
- 34:20Speaker 10: give him a shot. Look at Jones out there, really
- 34:23Speaker 10: coming up big. Obviously, Lombard is just a stud. He's
- 34:27Speaker 10: gonna be said. He made that little error trying to
- 34:30Speaker 10: rush her play, but don't expect too many of those,
- 34:33Speaker 10: in my opinion. All in all, love love the way
- 34:37Speaker 10: the team actually was swinging the bats today. A lot
- 34:40Speaker 10: of people looking dangerous up there. Again, sometimes you put
- 34:44Speaker 10: these young guys in there and can just energize the
- 34:48Speaker 10: entire team. And it kind of looked like that tonight.
- 34:50Speaker 11: I don't know what do you think, all.
- 34:51Speaker 9: Right, appreciate the call. Yeah, I mean, young guys doing
- 34:55Speaker 9: the job. Tonight. You had multi hits for Spencer Jones
- 34:59Speaker 9: and George Lombard. They both look good. They're both improving.
- 35:03Speaker 9: Remember people were wondering wondering if Lombard could hit. Well.
- 35:06Speaker 9: I think he's proven that he can hit. We'll see
- 35:07Speaker 9: if the league adjusts, but right now he can hit.
- 35:09Speaker 11: Here's a call from Nashville, and from Nashville, here Tolf
- 35:12Speaker 11: of the eighth up, eight to five. It's time to
- 35:15Speaker 11: give them head and put them to bed.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yo, Yankee, I like it.
- 35:24Speaker 6: There's Mary Beth, Oh, Derek, Mary Beth, and you're gonna
- 35:27Speaker 6: have such a good show tonight.
- 35:29Speaker 5: Let's call this a laugh for okay.
- 35:30Speaker 8: Ten runs, oh my god, and the kids.
- 35:34Speaker 9: Everybody's doing great.
- 35:35Speaker 12: It's the way.
- 35:37Speaker 11: It's like the old days.
- 35:40Speaker 12: I just love this and I think Boston's gonna lose,
- 35:42Speaker 12: so Yankees win.
- 35:44Speaker 5: This is a good night.
- 35:44Speaker 11: I look forward to your show.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Bye.
- 35:46Speaker 9: Appreciate the call, Mary Beth, great attitude. As always. Here's
- 35:50Speaker 9: Michael Yo.
- 35:51Speaker 12: Derek is McMichael from the Jersey Brother. Finally, the Yankees
- 35:55Speaker 12: are sticking together hit, They're putting together runs like It's
- 35:58Speaker 12: crazy how you can make how a team can make
- 36:01Speaker 12: you hate them and then just one inning can make
- 36:04Speaker 12: you fun in love with them all over again. Brother,
- 36:06Speaker 12: you just gotta love baseball, man. But this is the
- 36:08Speaker 12: type of baseball that we need to see. This is
- 36:10Speaker 12: the type of baseball that if we play this way,
- 36:13Speaker 12: we will be twenty and twenty six will city champions
- 36:16Speaker 12: with this pitching and hitting like that? Come on, by
- 36:19Speaker 12: the who can stop?
- 36:20Speaker 7: Let's go.
- 36:21Speaker 9: I love the optimism. I love the optimism. We'll see
- 36:24Speaker 9: I don't know. I want to see uh. I want
- 36:27Speaker 9: to see them do it more than one day out
- 36:29Speaker 9: of a week. You know, Let's let's see him sustain
- 36:31Speaker 9: this for a while.
- 36:31Speaker 11: Here's Louis Louis Preedifield here, it's been a while. I
- 36:35Speaker 11: got a question. Let's thot I'm watching uh this guy,
- 36:40Speaker 11: I bet.
- 36:42Speaker 7: The guy that came up the god the left handed
- 36:45Speaker 7: Aaron Judge, I forgot his name, Spencer Johnes. Anyway, do
- 36:48Speaker 7: you think he'd be's able to get into the home
- 36:51Speaker 7: run derby? Heel, if you take a crack at the
- 36:55Speaker 7: home run Derby, you think he wins will come up
- 36:57Speaker 7: on top.
- 36:57Speaker 11: I just I just thought about that.
- 36:59Speaker 9: I think you're a little premature. I mean, guy's got
- 37:02Speaker 9: five home runs as a rookie. I'm sure if he's
- 37:07Speaker 9: ever in a home run Derby, he's big and strong
- 37:10Speaker 9: enough that he could probably win it. But let's let's
- 37:14Speaker 9: cross that bridge when we get there. It's call about Garcia.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Hey, they're honestly. The way Garcia has been playing recently,
- 37:21Speaker 5: I feel that he's back to what some people were
- 37:24Speaker 5: talking about right before he played the first game with
- 37:26Speaker 5: us or they said they might use him as a
- 37:28Speaker 5: platoon when Stan comes back, and I understand I'm seeing
- 37:32Speaker 5: and now he's cooled off, not calling him a bad player.
- 37:35Speaker 5: I know he's still a great hitter. But I'm not
- 37:38Speaker 5: too worried about when Stang comes.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Back, like where they're going to play.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Especially the way he's playing right now. I think they'll
- 37:43Speaker 5: figure it out, which is completely fine. When he was high,
- 37:46Speaker 5: I think it was more of a conversation. But right now,
- 37:48Speaker 5: I think Stan is going to start at least versus
- 37:52Speaker 5: you know, his most dominant kind of pictures.
- 37:56Speaker 9: Did you guys see that John Carlos Stanton. There were
- 37:59Speaker 9: video of him on social media and he ran to
- 38:02Speaker 9: second base and he lived. He survived. But yes, Garcia,
- 38:07Speaker 9: I think we'll play against righty's, and I think Stanton
- 38:09Speaker 9: will play against lefties. I don't think you can play
- 38:13Speaker 9: Stanton every single day. I don't think you can do it.
- 38:16Speaker 9: And if he starts hitting, if he gets hot, then
- 38:18Speaker 9: maybe a give more backs against righty's. But we'll see
- 38:21Speaker 9: what they do in the postseason. That'll be interesting. Uh,
- 38:24Speaker 9: here's a call from Caden.
- 38:27Speaker 11: Hey, Derek, this is Caden from Tennessee Colin. I really
- 38:32Speaker 11: like what Ron McMahon's been doing for the Yankees, recently
- 38:36Speaker 11: started to pick it up. And number two, I know
- 38:40Speaker 11: it's early with in a Yankee stint that Elliott Ramos
- 38:45Speaker 11: does not fite what we needed. I was very excited
- 38:51Speaker 11: about seeing Henry uh Wellana, but we got this gun instead.
- 38:58Speaker 11: Oh boy, I thought Henry could have been really good
- 39:02Speaker 11: for us, But nope, we got Elliott.
- 39:08Speaker 9: That that that was the stages of grief call right there,
- 39:13Speaker 9: right now. Henry Lallane is at high A with the
- 39:17Speaker 9: Eugene Emeralds. He is this so far this season, He's
- 39:21Speaker 9: thrown twenty in the third innings, twenty two strikeouts, five walks,
- 39:24Speaker 9: two point sixty six erra. The problem with him is
- 39:26Speaker 9: that he has been hurt a lot. But he's six seven,
- 39:29Speaker 9: two hundred eleven pounds, has nasty stuff, good fastball, good slider,
- 39:33Speaker 9: and I think he's gonna be a stud if he
- 39:35Speaker 9: ever stays healthy. But Jesse Sam says, I don't care
- 39:39Speaker 9: about Stanton's legs. Got no legs, Lieutenant stan doesn't have legs.
- 39:44Speaker 9: One more time from John Sterling.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Game A Yankees wins.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Yankee all right, guys, I'm gonna call it a night.
- 39:57Speaker 9: Good night for the AANNGS ten runs. They answered our prayers.
- 40:01Speaker 9: They made us not stress so much there at the end.
- 40:03Speaker 9: Great job by the bullpen Trent Grisham with the belt,
- 40:07Speaker 9: couple of mustache rides. I'll catch you guys tomorrow afternoon game.
