• 2:19
Speaker 5: talking little high school football. Tonight's w CCHS is Chris
• 2:23
Speaker 5: Lawrence and Aaron Parker. We'll have covered to the Battle
• 2:26
Speaker 5: of the Bridge, Crawford Field to Saint Albans will take
• 2:29
  Speaker 5: on Nitro.
• 2:30
Speaker 3: How you doing, I'm.
• 2:31
Speaker 6: Good, doing well, sir, I'm my sympathy is on the
• 2:34
Speaker 6: game last night for you.
• 2:35
Speaker 3: I'm both sure that was rough and thank you for
• 2:38
Speaker 3: you know, bringing that up.
• 2:40
Speaker 5: I just thought I would do that well, you know,
• 2:42
Speaker 5: lightning delay, So I was late getting to the game.
• 2:45
Speaker 5: I listened to the first half of the game on
• 2:48
Speaker 5: w CCHS. I was driving back from Logan County last
• 2:52
Speaker 5: night for the Hall of Fame dinner. H and then
• 2:54
  Speaker 5: I get home and it's a it's a it's a
• 2:57
Speaker 5: one hour lightning delay. And so that was that. That's
• 3:00
Speaker 5: always fun when you get up early, as you well know,
• 3:02
Speaker 5: and you stay up until twelve thirty. I'm not as
• 3:04
Speaker 5: young as I never was, that's for sure.
• 3:06
Speaker 6: Yeah, I can't do that anymore, even when Tennessee's playing
• 3:09
  Speaker 6: on a weeknight, I can't. And I just wait and
• 3:11
Speaker 6: get the score in the morning. That's what I have
• 3:13
Speaker 6: to do. Tonight, thought, we've got the Battle of the Bridge,
• 3:16
Speaker 6: as you mentioned, and it's been a while since that
• 3:19
Speaker 6: traveling trophy has been on the Saint Albans side of
• 3:21
Speaker 6: the river. They'd certainly like to reverse that tonight, but
• 3:24
Speaker 6: it will be a tall order for the Red Dragons
• 3:27
Speaker 6: if they wish to do that. Nitro's got a stack team.
• 3:29
Speaker 6: They're pretty good this year. They've got quite an offense,
• 3:32
Speaker 6: and he continues to be a bit of a struggle
• 3:36
Speaker 6: for Saint Albans, except for the fact that their best
• 3:39
Speaker 6: running back was out of the game last week. He
• 3:41
Speaker 6: will be back this week, so that will be a
• 3:44
Speaker 6: plus for the Red Dragons. They're playing at home tonight,
• 3:46
Speaker 6: and it's their home opener, so I'm sorry it's not
• 3:50
Speaker 6: their home opener, but they are playing at home tonight,
• 3:52
Speaker 6: and so that one kicks off at seven thirty, and
• 3:55
Speaker 6: we'll have a pregame coverage here on five EIGHTWCCHS at
• 3:58
Speaker 6: seven o'clock tonight about the Systemville Indians. Next thing, I
• 4:02
Speaker 6: was going to say congratulations to those guys beating Tulsa
• 4:05
Speaker 6: twenty to nineteen and ending a twenty one game losing streak.
• 4:10
Speaker 6: That's fantastic, it is.
• 4:12
Speaker 3: I was going to bring that up. I was real
• 4:13
Speaker 3: happy for those guys. Happy this morning.
• 4:15
Speaker 5: And of course you know you got the Saint Albans
• 4:17
  Speaker 5: and that's always a great game though. I mean it's
• 4:20
Speaker 5: it's always a great contest rivalry.
• 4:22
Speaker 6: I can remember being at Crawford Field back in the
• 4:26
Speaker 6: in the days and the year that Saint Albans, the
• 4:30
Speaker 6: last year Saint Albans went to the state championship. They
• 4:34
Speaker 6: played Nitro for the in the semi finals and I've
• 4:39
Speaker 6: never seen anything quite that wild at Crawford Field.
• 4:44
Speaker 3: That was a wild night. Yeah, that one, that that
• 4:46
Speaker 3: one was played. You'll have carverage of course, what you
• 4:48
Speaker 3: got on the Outdoor Show tomorrow.
• 4:50
Speaker 6: We'll be live at Stonewall Resort for National Hunting and
• 4:52
Speaker 6: Fishing Days. We'll be talking to diner and director Brett macmillion,
• 4:56
Speaker 6: among others, including a guy who'ssisted a fish, Shionado was
• 5:00
Speaker 6: squirrel dogs. So we'll be uh we'll be visiting with
• 5:03
Speaker 6: him tomorrow morning on the show. And if you are,
• 5:06
Speaker 6: if you got nothing else to do, and Dave, I
• 5:08
Speaker 6: know you don't, you could you could come up to
• 5:10
Speaker 6: uh Stonewall Resort tomorrow ten bucks, get you in the
• 5:13
Speaker 6: gate and all kinds of things to do and see
• 5:16
Speaker 6: in the outdoors, and in particular, if you've got children,
• 5:19
Speaker 6: they can get involved in the Outdoor Youth Challenge and
• 5:21
Speaker 6: learn learn a lot and participate and compete for prizes
• 5:25
Speaker 6: in outdoor pursuits like shooting guns and fish identification and
• 5:30
Speaker 6: stuff that I don't suspect that you would do well well,
• 5:33
Speaker 6: but you could learn something.
• 5:34
Speaker 3: Fish identification for me would be is it grilled?
• 5:37
  Speaker 7: Yes?
• 5:38
Speaker 3: It is it from Long John Silver?
• 5:41
Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, you know we have the food queen
• 5:42
Speaker 5: of the Canal Valley here, Casey I do stor whether
• 5:44
Speaker 5: it's Casey. You can come on any tell me if
• 5:46
Speaker 5: you if you want to add to add to this conversation.
• 5:48
Speaker 6: So that's they are. They're also having the Taste of
• 5:51
Speaker 6: the State Parks tomorrow, so they will and that's kind
• 5:54
Speaker 6: of a cool thing. All of the restaurants at the
• 5:56
Speaker 6: State Parks, you know, they've all got a restaurant.
• 5:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and all of them.
• 6:01
Speaker 6: Will be there and you can go around and you
• 6:02
Speaker 6: can take a ticket and get a sample of whatever
• 6:05
Speaker 6: they're serving. And I did it last year and it
• 6:08
Speaker 6: was it fills up. I almost got full before I
• 6:10
Speaker 6: ate and a sampled everything. What was the best thing
• 6:12
Speaker 6: that you had last year? I can't remember, but it uh, yeah,
• 6:16
  Speaker 6: I can't remember.
• 6:17
Speaker 3: I liked it all.
• 6:18
Speaker 6: There aren't many things that I don't like, right, so,
• 6:21
Speaker 6: but I was just going around helping myself.
• 6:23
Speaker 3: Casey, what do you think about getting mister Lawrence in
• 6:26
Speaker 3: the chicken wing eating contest next week at Ripfist?
• 6:30
Speaker 8: Would you like to?
• 6:31
Speaker 6: I don't want to be in the contest, No, but
• 6:32
Speaker 6: I would be glad to come over and eat some wings. Well,
• 6:35
Speaker 6: I don't want to do it as a competition because
• 6:38
  Speaker 6: it's I can't enjoy them. Then, yeah, that's true, because
• 6:41
Speaker 6: you're just like like blowing through. It's like the hot
• 6:42
Speaker 6: dog eating contest and the fourth of July. Yeah, I
• 6:45
Speaker 6: love hot dogs, but I can't eat like sixty of them. Okay,
• 6:48
Speaker 6: that one's sitting in a not with that attitude.
• 6:50
Speaker 8: You can't actually competed in that contest twice?
• 6:53
Speaker 3: Did you yes, I did. Congratulations, how'd you do?
• 6:56
Speaker 8: I raked in the middle, ranked in the middle. Now
• 6:59
Speaker 8: last July the girl best out of me was throwing
• 7:02
Speaker 8: up in a bucket. Yeah, it's a little bit of
• 7:04
  Speaker 8: a distraction.
• 7:05
  Speaker 6: So it's I guess it's the mind of a matter
• 7:07
Speaker 6: if you go into it without a competitive attitude and
• 7:09
Speaker 6: look at it just like here's an opportunity for some
• 7:12
Speaker 6: free food and then just enjoy yourself. And I guess
• 7:15
Speaker 6: that you could pull that off that way.
• 7:17
  Speaker 4: I can.
• 7:18
Speaker 3: I guess it's all about your attitude.
• 7:20
Speaker 5: I got it all right. Chris will be listening tonight
• 7:22
Speaker 5: and tomorrow. I have fun Stone Baltimore. I appreciate it.
• 7:25
Speaker 6: Y'all have a great weekend, all right, mister Bragg, Hello,
• 7:28
Speaker 6: you got Herbert Hoover.
• 7:29
Speaker 5: That's true to night talk about your game. You know,
• 7:31
  Speaker 5: I got a I came in a little bummed. Chris
• 7:33
Speaker 5: was talking about that O six Nitro Saint Alban's game.
• 7:36
Speaker 5: I'm a Nitro guy at heart where I went to school.
• 7:39
Speaker 5: That was a downer, but then I remembered the caw
• 7:40
Speaker 5: the Cowboys game went last night. That one brought me
• 7:42
Speaker 5: back here. We got me ready to go. I had
• 7:44
Speaker 5: to get my shot into. But no, Herbert Hoover. It's
• 7:47
Speaker 5: going to be a fantastic game tonight, Big one too.
• 7:50
Speaker 5: Kind of a budding rivalry, certainly since in the twenty
• 7:55
Speaker 5: twenties Winfield hosting Herbert Hoover. It's the team teams that
• 7:58
Speaker 5: have played leave. This will be their seventh meeting this decade.
• 8:01
Speaker 5: One of those was a playoff game down at Winfield,
• 8:03
Speaker 5: who we won by one point. I believe I was
• 8:06
Speaker 5: twenty twenty two, but in twenty twenty five. Husky's coming
• 8:09
Speaker 5: in oh to one and maybe licking the wounds a
• 8:11
Speaker 5: little bit after losing a close game thirty seven to
• 8:14
Speaker 5: thirty four at a very good Independence team last week.
• 8:17
Speaker 5: But it wasn't what we've known at or what we've
• 8:20
Speaker 5: come to expect out of Hoover the last few years.
• 8:21
Speaker 5: Things were a little bit sloppy up front along the
• 8:23
Speaker 5: offensive line, and that kind of is where a lot
• 8:25
Speaker 5: of the problems stemmed. Their quarterback was sacked eight times,
• 8:28
Speaker 5: running for his life all night, fumbled through a couple
• 8:31
Speaker 5: of interceptions. Young kid, he was pressured, made made some
• 8:34
Speaker 5: mistakes and that's something the Huskies are going to have
• 8:36
Speaker 5: to clean up because it's another tough test at Winfield tonight.
• 8:39
Speaker 5: It's Winfield team won to Oh. They kind of pounded
• 8:42
Speaker 5: on Lincoln County last week, and unfortunately, if you're a
• 8:44
Speaker 5: Panthers fan, that's probably gonna happen a few times this season.
• 8:48
Speaker 5: So not sure exactly what how much stock to put
• 8:51
Speaker 5: into what Winfield did against Lincoln County last week, But
• 8:54
Speaker 5: you look at the stats and it's same old Winfield man.
• 8:56
Speaker 5: They like to run the ball. They've got seven or
• 8:58
Speaker 5: eight guys that they will get the ball to, and
• 9:00
Speaker 5: they've got a couple of receivers who can pop big
• 9:01
Speaker 5: plays too. So expect a good one tonight down in Winfield.
• 9:04
Speaker 5: All right, we'll be listening to you and Murphy and
• 9:06
Speaker 5: got the game tonight, Me and Murphy tonight and then
• 9:08
Speaker 5: Daniel Wood tonight tomorrow. West Virginia State on the Beat
• 9:11
Speaker 5: home opener, home opener in college. They are at noon tomorrow.
• 9:14
Speaker 5: Where is Barton College? Barton College is in North Carolina,
• 9:16
Speaker 5: North Carolina. All right, and a coverage on the Beat
• 9:19
Speaker 5: is good. We're your home for West Virginia State to
• 9:21
Speaker 5: football all season long. You and Daniel will have all
• 9:23
Speaker 5: the play by play starting around noon time tomorrow and
• 9:25
Speaker 5: one of seven three to beat.
• 9:26
  Speaker 3: We'll be listening. That's correct.
• 9:27
Speaker 5: Thanks for having us on day all right, I talked
• 9:28
Speaker 5: to you next week, yep, Tom Tom Bragg of course.
• 9:31
Speaker 5: And of course it's Hoover and Winfield tonight. You can
• 9:33
Speaker 5: catch that on Superstar Country ninety six one KWS. Angie
• 9:36
Speaker 5: Gill and Water from the Cannelge Charleston Yu Maine Association
• 9:38
Speaker 5: is here with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet the Week, Angie,
• 9:41
  Speaker 5: good morning, welcome.
• 9:42
  Speaker 3: To the show.
• 9:43
Speaker 5: Good morning, and I've also got with me Casey Foster,
• 9:47
Speaker 5: who is going to be m scene the chicken wing
• 9:49
Speaker 5: eating contest next week at Ribfest, and she's a big fan.
• 9:54
Speaker 5: She was telling me in the green room there of
• 9:57
Speaker 5: shelter pets and things of that nature. So Casey meet Angie.
• 10:00
  Speaker 5: Angie meet Casey.
• 10:01
Speaker 8: Very nice to meet Angie.
• 10:03
Speaker 9: Nice to meet you, Casey. I love to hear a
• 10:06
  Speaker 9: shelter pet enthusiast.
• 10:08
Speaker 5: Well, So we do this every week, you know, we
• 10:11
Speaker 5: put a try to get a different pet adopted, and
• 10:13
Speaker 5: as always we post a picture Dave Allen Radio on
• 10:17
Speaker 5: Facebook and also the WHS network Facebook page and at
• 10:20
Speaker 5: Dave A seventy on x Skipworth is the pet's name.
• 10:25
Speaker 5: And I had to ask Ryan earlier because Ryan is
• 10:27
Speaker 5: my go to on some of these names, and Ryan,
• 10:29
Speaker 5: I don't think, had an answer for Skipworth. So tell
• 10:31
Speaker 5: us about the name Skipworth.
• 10:34
Speaker 9: So actually that is one that I named. And on
• 10:38
Speaker 9: my trip to Richmond, Virginia a couple of weeks ago,
• 10:40
Speaker 9: I saw a road called Skippedwith Road and I was like,
• 10:44
Speaker 9: that's actually a very cute name.
• 10:45
Speaker 7: We're using that skip with skip with yep uh.
• 10:50
Speaker 9: The simple is that I saw Rhoades sign and.
• 10:52
Speaker 3: Was like, perfect, all right, tell us the story of Skipworth.
• 10:56
Speaker 9: So he's actually from a hoarding situation Kenall County where
• 11:01
Speaker 9: they're about thirty to forty cats that are needing our help.
• 11:04
Speaker 9: There's nobody there to take care of them anymore, so
• 11:07
Speaker 9: we've been bringing them in in small groups and he
• 11:11
Speaker 9: is one of them. We've gotten almost all of them neutered,
• 11:14
Speaker 9: up to date on vaccines. But he is currently living
• 11:18
Speaker 9: at the pet Co pent houses and his new Southridge
• 11:22
Speaker 9: pet Co pent houses. I want to clarify, but he
• 11:26
Speaker 9: is a little weary of his new environment. It's not
• 11:29
Speaker 9: the house he's lived in for three to four years,
• 11:31
Speaker 9: so he is very shy, but he is such a
• 11:35
Speaker 9: sweet cat. He's one of those that you have to
• 11:37
Speaker 9: go to him to get his attention or else he's
• 11:39
Speaker 9: going to hide. But he loves to get pets. He's
• 11:42
Speaker 9: a very, very very sweet cat, despite you know, being
• 11:45
Speaker 9: curled up and hiding. I don't want his body language
• 11:49
Speaker 9: to turn anyone away from adopting him.
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: He's a beautiful cat.
• 11:53
Speaker 5: And again, I've got the picture posted on Dave Island
• 11:55
Speaker 5: Radio on Facebook and at Dave A seventy on X
• 11:57
Speaker 5: and also the WCCHS network Facebook page.
• 12:00
Speaker 3: It looks like he does have something going on with
• 12:01
  Speaker 3: his ear.
• 12:03
Speaker 9: Yes, so a lot of the cats from that house
• 12:06
Speaker 9: have that that specific ear. It almost looks like a
• 12:10
Speaker 9: folded down book page. But Arve is pretty confident that
• 12:15
Speaker 9: those are old hematomas that have healed and they shouldn't
• 12:18
Speaker 9: cause any issues in the future medically. It's just an
• 12:23
Speaker 9: aesthetic thing at this point. He just has a little
• 12:25
  Speaker 9: folded down here.
• 12:27
Speaker 5: You want to know what a small world it is,
• 12:28
Speaker 5: Angie and Casey, I just got a text from Marrily
• 12:31
Speaker 5: mccalliffe from a WWK TV thirteen. She lived off that
• 12:36
Speaker 5: road that you're referring to.
• 12:38
Speaker 3: Oh, really, it's small world, very fall.
• 12:44
  Speaker 8: It's West Virginia.
• 12:45
Speaker 3: Well, well now it's Virginia.
• 12:47
Speaker 5: It's on the way, it's Virginia. It's Virginia. Today is
• 12:50
Speaker 5: International Charity Day. I saw this post it on your
• 12:52
Speaker 5: Facebook page. Angiine you're wanting people to show off their
• 12:55
Speaker 5: adopted pets on your social media.
• 12:58
Speaker 9: Yes. Absolutely. We love of getting updates on you know,
• 13:01
Speaker 9: casey Cha alumni that have left the building. That's one
• 13:04
Speaker 9: of our favorite things as far as the social media girls,
• 13:08
Speaker 9: because we screenshaw everyone's posts and send it to our
• 13:11
Speaker 9: employee group chat. And when I tell you, everybody in
• 13:14
Speaker 9: the chat will just melt.
• 13:16
  Speaker 2: I mean.
• 13:18
Speaker 3: We had a text to the show.
• 13:20
Speaker 5: By the way, I do need to mention with Dave
• 13:21
Speaker 5: Allen showing five eighty Live is brought to you parted
• 13:23
Speaker 5: by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
• 13:26
Speaker 3: I didn't have a text of the show.
• 13:27
Speaker 5: Somebody said, are there any updates on Sissy who was
• 13:30
Speaker 5: hit by a car and Jacks who was returned and
• 13:33
Speaker 5: suffering depression and the innocent kitten that was slammed onto
• 13:37
Speaker 5: the floor in Saint Albans. We actually some way texted
• 13:40
Speaker 5: the show yesterday about that kitten situation in Saint Albans.
• 13:43
Speaker 5: But are you aware of Sissy who was hit by
• 13:46
  Speaker 5: a car?
• 13:47
Speaker 9: Yes, I do have updates on all three.
• 13:49
Speaker 3: Okay, guys, you go ahead and get it and you
• 13:52
Speaker 3: you and Casey talk. I'm gonna leave go ahead.
• 13:55
Speaker 9: So Sissy. Cissy is one of our staff members. Actually
• 14:00
Speaker 9: took her to the veterinarian this morning that was going
• 14:03
Speaker 9: to help us out, doctor Stevenson. So she is at
• 14:06
Speaker 9: their vet clinic right now. I don't have any updates
• 14:09
Speaker 9: as far as if they've started her surgery or not,
• 14:12
Speaker 9: but I do know that she made it there. And
• 14:15
Speaker 9: you know I can text with updates so you can update,
• 14:18
Speaker 9: and I'm sure our Facebook page will update later on
• 14:21
Speaker 9: throughout the day. Jack's actually went to a foster home yesterday.
• 14:26
Speaker 9: They brought their dogs up to hang out and play
• 14:28
Speaker 9: with him. They did beautifully, So he is hanging out
• 14:32
Speaker 9: in foster until he gets adopted. And then the last
• 14:36
Speaker 9: one was the kitten from Saint Albans. Again, the kitten
• 14:39
Speaker 9: is where. It's an ongoing cruelty investigation. I can't share
• 14:42
Speaker 9: too many details, but I can say the kitten is
• 14:45
Speaker 9: doing well. It is stable and it's actually, you know,
• 14:49
Speaker 9: starting to walk again, and it's it's just doing much
• 14:53
Speaker 9: better than we initially anticipated when it first came in.
• 14:57
Speaker 5: All right, that's that's good to hear. And I know
• 14:59
Speaker 5: that you can't we talked to a little bit last week.
• 15:00
Speaker 5: There's a lot because this is an ongoing investigation, so
• 15:03
Speaker 5: there's not a lot you can say other than that,
• 15:04
Speaker 5: So we appreciate the update.
• 15:05
Speaker 3: What kind of supplies are you in need of the.
• 15:08
Speaker 9: Biggest things right now are wet and dry dog food.
• 15:13
Speaker 9: Wet food, we're not picky. Dry we use curing a
• 15:15
Speaker 9: dog chowl down, dishwashing liquid and then oddly enough again
• 15:21
Speaker 9: volunteers to help us get through daily operation.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, indeed, you out and about anywhere on this weekend.
• 15:29
Speaker 9: So tomorrow we're going to be at south Ridge pet Co.
• 15:32
Speaker 9: Actually I won't be. I will be on vacation in Morgantown,
• 15:36
Speaker 9: but Deth will be your vacation in Morgantown. Oh, that's
• 15:40
Speaker 9: a vacation for me whatever whatever.
• 15:44
Speaker 5: Enjoy enjoy So but anyway, you'll be at Petco tomorrow
• 15:48

• 15:49

Speaker 5: You know, as I said, Casey's going to be here
• 16:04
Speaker 5: to talk about Ripfest. She's sitting in on this segment.
• 16:06
Speaker 5: We need to convince Casey that she needs to adopt
• 16:08
  Speaker 5: a pet.
• 16:10
Speaker 9: Oh, that'll be We're like car salesman.
• 16:12
Speaker 7: I can do that, all right.
• 16:14

• 17:21

• 17:24
Speaker 5: of a hem atoma, but they say that it should heal. Okay,
• 17:27
Speaker 5: it's not causing him any problems or anything. And this
• 17:30
Speaker 5: was a pretty bad situation, so obviously he's still a
• 17:33
Speaker 5: little bit skittish. He you got to go to him
• 17:36
Speaker 5: as opposed to him coming to you, which that's true

• 20:33
Speaker 5: happening tomorrow. Next week, Ribfest is going to be happening
• 20:36
Speaker 5: in Marmette and as part of that, we have some
• 20:38
Speaker 5: eating contest going on. Casey Foster, is it fair to
• 20:41
Speaker 5: call you the food Queen of the Kanaal Valley?
• 20:43
Speaker 3: Do you like that or do you know?
• 20:44
Speaker 5: Hey, I'll take it all right, All right, there's no
• 20:46
Speaker 5: sash or anything involved with that. But so talk about
• 20:53
Speaker 5: how how you first got involved in all this stuff
• 20:56
Speaker 5: in ripest? Yeah, well, just the whole food thing in general.
• 21:00
Speaker 8: Oh boy, Okay, when we're talking about fifteen years ago,
• 21:04
Speaker 8: I worked at the Charleston gazet Mel and one of
• 21:08
Speaker 8: my responsibilities was traveling tourism advertising, and so I would
• 21:13
Speaker 8: travel around the state. I'd work with the CVBS showcase
• 21:16
Speaker 8: restaurants and businesses in their areas. I would do dining pages,
• 21:21
Speaker 8: and for National hot Dog Month, I would go around
• 21:25
Speaker 8: the state and I would you eat all these places
• 21:29
Speaker 8: that sold hot dogs. I would do two pages just
• 21:33
Speaker 8: full of restaurants. I'd have a little map on there,
• 21:37
Speaker 8: and I would eat hot dogs at all these places
• 21:40
Speaker 8: and rank them. And my record was sixty eight hot
• 21:44
  Speaker 8: dogs in a month. I wouldn't recommend that. I had
• 21:47
Speaker 8: my gobladder removed, but they nicknamed me the hot Dog
• 21:51
Speaker 8: Queen and it stuck. And I did that every single year.
• 21:56
Speaker 8: And so that's actually how I got my foot in
• 21:59
Speaker 8: the door. Started you know, doing stories on different kind
• 22:04
Speaker 8: of you know, restaurant histories, food histories, local food histories.
• 22:10
Speaker 8: And then I started competing, and I've competed in several contests.
• 22:15
Speaker 8: Then I started organizing. I've been judging. Actually, the Bridge
• 22:21
Speaker 8: Day Chili Cookoff is coming up next month and I'll
• 22:25
Speaker 8: be back for the sixth year to judge that and
• 22:27
Speaker 8: it's really fun. So yeah, I mean I probably have
• 22:31
Speaker 8: about fifteen to twenty events under my belt.
• 22:35
Speaker 3: So what is it that you enjoy so much about
• 22:37
Speaker 3: I mean, other than the food, it's not just that.
• 22:39
Speaker 3: I mean, but because you can sit sit in your
• 22:41
Speaker 3: house and eat the food. What is it that you
• 22:43
  Speaker 3: enjoy about this?
• 22:44
Speaker 8: I love socializing, work with a community, meeting new people.
• 22:49
Speaker 8: And I'm competitive too. Who doesn't like to win, right,
• 22:53
Speaker 8: And you know there's always fun prizes and so forth.
• 22:56
Speaker 8: But I like to just you know, be a little
• 22:59
Speaker 8: bit different, you know, get out of the comfort zone.
• 23:02
Speaker 8: And especially as a woman, so you know, in a
• 23:05
Speaker 8: lot of these contests, I've been the only woman to
• 23:08
Speaker 8: compete and I like to represent well.
• 23:11
Speaker 3: And that's one thing that we wanted to talk about
• 23:14
Speaker 3: with this with this winging, because first of all, when
• 23:16
Speaker 3: is it going to be?
• 23:17
Speaker 8: Okay? It is going to be Sunday, next Sunday, next Sunday,
• 23:21
Speaker 8: the fourteenth, Okay, okay. And what we're doing is I'm
• 23:26
Speaker 8: asking everyone who registers, you must register to be there
• 23:30
  Speaker 8: at one thirty.
• 23:30
Speaker 3: I'll go over the rules and exactly where is it.
• 23:33
Speaker 8: Okay, it's going to be at the Ben Morse Ball
• 23:36
Speaker 8: field in more mets. Okay, okay, so we'll have a
• 23:39
Speaker 8: stage set up and uh so everybody will get there
• 23:43
Speaker 8: at one thirty. I'll go for the rules from regulations.
• 23:45
Speaker 8: We're going to have two separate contests. First up are
• 23:48
Speaker 8: the women. Okay, Now, I do have a couple spots
• 23:52
Speaker 8: left for females and women. You just compete against each other.
• 23:57
Speaker 8: You're going to have ten minutes to eat as many
• 24:00
Speaker 8: wings as you can, so you know, they'll have a
• 24:04
Speaker 8: plate of ten wings. After you finish that, you go
• 24:06
Speaker 8: on to the next plate. You got ten minutes to
• 24:09
Speaker 8: do it. You have to eat all the meat off
• 24:10
Speaker 8: the bone, and of course you can't throw up or
• 24:13
Speaker 8: you're going to be disqualified.
• 24:15
Speaker 3: So you're disqualified for throwing up. Yes, that see.
• 24:17
Speaker 5: And I've told this story on the air before you
• 24:20
Speaker 5: see these contests Casey on TV. You know the Nathan's
• 24:23
Speaker 5: hot dog eating contests and so on.
• 24:25
Speaker 3: I can I can do that.
• 24:27
Speaker 5: The first time I was ever I've never entered a competition,
• 24:29
Speaker 5: but I was asked to m see a hot dog
• 24:31
  Speaker 5: eating competition.
• 24:32
Speaker 3: This was probably twenty years or so ago.
• 24:35
Speaker 5: And and for you're eating breakfast right now, I apologize,
• 24:38
Speaker 5: but you've heard this story before, if people listen to
• 24:40
Speaker 5: me for a while. So I'm up on stage at
• 24:43
Speaker 5: this fair and I am, you know, M seeing this competition.
• 24:47
Speaker 5: And these the folks that you see at the Nathan's Contest,
• 24:49
  Speaker 5: these are professionals.
• 24:50
Speaker 3: This is what they do. I was not prepared because every.
• 24:54
Speaker 5: Everybody thinks, oh, I can I've eaten, you know, hot
• 24:58
Speaker 5: dogs at the at the Free Will Baptist I can
• 25:00
Speaker 5: throw down some dogs. No, it's a little bit different thing.
• 25:04
Speaker 5: And the first time, if you remember the movie, the
• 25:06
Speaker 5: iconic movie Stand by Me, the famous bar Forarama, that's
• 25:12
Speaker 5: what we had on stage at the Logan Memorial Fieldhouse
• 25:15
Speaker 5: or Arts and Crafts Fair.
• 25:16
Speaker 3: Maybe that's why they don't do the Arts and Crafts
• 25:18
Speaker 3: Fair anymore. I don't know. But one guy started it,
• 25:22
Speaker 3: and then there was at least two or three more afterwards.
• 25:24
  Speaker 7: And I.
• 25:26
Speaker 5: Don't have a particularly weak stomach. But that's one thing
• 25:30
Speaker 5: that's probably a good thing I've ever had kids, because
• 25:32
Speaker 5: that's one thing I cannot deal with, is that. And
• 25:34
Speaker 5: when one person started, the second person and I say
• 25:37
Speaker 5: that to say this, it's a good thing that.
• 25:39
Speaker 3: You are, you know, telling people ahead of time. If
• 25:41
Speaker 3: you think you're gonna throw up, you're done.
• 25:44
Speaker 8: Usually there are buckets provided and they're by your feet. Okay,
• 25:48
Speaker 8: And my recommendation is, if you ever, you know, compete
• 25:52
Speaker 8: in an eating contest, don't look down, because I tell
• 25:57
Speaker 8: you what the last hot dog eating contest that I
• 25:59
Speaker 8: was in, and I'll look down, the girl beside of
• 26:02
Speaker 8: me had already filled up that bucket.
• 26:05
Speaker 3: Oh good, this is nice. This is this show has
• 26:08
Speaker 3: gone off the rails.
• 26:09
Speaker 8: But anyway, anyway, so that that's not every single circumstance,
• 26:15
Speaker 8: you know, not that many people as long as you
• 26:18
Speaker 8: don't look in the buckets, they do not throw up.
• 26:22
Speaker 8: Maybe one or two here and there. And so you know,
• 26:26
Speaker 8: I actually, you know, I advise people because you know,
• 26:29
Speaker 8: I've competed in so many contests, and I've tried different methods,
• 26:32
Speaker 8: and you know, I watch videos, you know, watch TV.
• 26:35
Speaker 8: You know different I probably tried every single method for
• 26:41
Speaker 8: competitive hot dog eating that is known to mankind.
• 26:46
Speaker 5: But because there's different way, and I know we're talking
• 26:47
Speaker 5: about wings, I actually have a question for you about
• 26:49
Speaker 5: the wing any kind of But but you see them
• 26:51
Speaker 5: on TV. You know that they will dip them in
• 26:53
Speaker 5: water and that how did you do because you competed
• 26:55
Speaker 5: in the competition the hot dog any kind, you've done
• 26:57
Speaker 5: it in the past.
• 26:58
Speaker 3: What's your method when it comes to hot dog?
• 27:00
Speaker 8: Okay, okay, Well I've tried different methods because I've done
• 27:03
Speaker 8: multiple hot dog eating concoasts. So what I would the
• 27:09
Speaker 8: first time, Okay, I came up with my own kind
• 27:12
Speaker 8: of blended method. There's the kobashi method, and that is
• 27:16
Speaker 8: where you actually break apart of wiener. You put both
• 27:21
Speaker 8: pieces of the winterer in your mouth and then you
• 27:23
Speaker 8: break apart the bun. Okay, You're gonna dip the butt
• 27:25
Speaker 8: in water because that moistens it and makes it more palatable,
• 27:29
Speaker 8: so you can just like, you know, go ahead and
• 27:31
Speaker 8: scarf it down. You don't want to try to eat
• 27:33
Speaker 8: a dry bun because you're going to choke.
• 27:35
  Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
• 27:37
Speaker 8: The bad thing about that is it tastes bad when
• 27:41
Speaker 8: you dip that bun in water. It's horrible. So what
• 27:45
Speaker 8: I did was I looked at other competitors and some
• 27:47
Speaker 8: of them used coca cola, So I blended kobyashi with
• 27:52
Speaker 8: coca cola. Okay, coca cola. It sweetens the taste of
• 27:57
Speaker 8: the bread, so it's more palatable for one thing, Okay,
• 28:01
Speaker 8: it also and it's it might sound disgusting, it makes
• 28:03
Speaker 8: you burn, but when you belch, okay, you're releasing that
• 28:07
Speaker 8: air and you're making more room in your stomach for
• 28:11
Speaker 8: more food. Okay. So I was like, okay, I got this.
• 28:15
Speaker 8: I went to tutors and you know, Weenie Wednesday, I
• 28:19
Speaker 8: was I was practicing at home. You know, there was
• 28:21
Speaker 8: a couple of times where I'd coughin like, you know,
• 28:23
Speaker 8: like wieners were flying out of my mouth. My my
• 28:29
Speaker 8: poor cat Bella. You know, she was watching me. She
• 28:32
Speaker 8: was the audience, and she got hit more times than
• 28:34
Speaker 8: I'd like to mention. But when I actually got up
• 28:38
Speaker 8: on the stage, because sometimes it's good in your head,
• 28:41
Speaker 8: it sounds like a good idea, when you're out there,
• 28:44
Speaker 8: not so good. So I, you know, I am scarfing down.
• 28:48
Speaker 8: I had five cans of Coca cola. There, I'm down
• 28:51
Speaker 8: in that coke and you know, tearing up the buns
• 28:54
Speaker 8: and everything. And I meant, there's coke dripping down my face.
• 28:59
Speaker 8: The mayor up and she's telling me I'm doing a
• 29:01
Speaker 8: good job, and I just burped right there.
• 29:03
  Speaker 3: That's nice. Ryan.
• 29:06
Speaker 5: If you can't get a promo out of this, then
• 29:08
Speaker 5: then you're not worth your way as a producer. All right,
• 29:11
Speaker 5: let me let me get back to the chicken wings,
• 29:14
Speaker 5: well of a cup, because we got questions that they
• 29:16
Speaker 5: want to talk to you. All right, but okay, hold
• 29:18
Speaker 5: on this one though, is about your method with the coke.
• 29:22
Speaker 5: Doesn't the acid in coke dissolve some of the bund.
• 29:24
Speaker 3: That seems like a form of cheating just saying this,
• 29:26
  Speaker 3: says a texture.
• 29:28
Speaker 8: I didn't make the rules. Yes, it's uh, you know, basically,
• 29:33
Speaker 8: anything that you do with the liquid, it just turns
• 29:36
Speaker 8: it into a ball of mush. And when you're in
• 29:39
Speaker 8: a competition, you're just trying to shovel it in. So
• 29:41
Speaker 8: you know, I'm really not like savoring the taste or
• 29:44
Speaker 8: noticing how acidic things are. It just tastes sweeter and
• 29:47
Speaker 8: I can get it down, all right.
• 29:49
Speaker 5: Let me get back to the chicken wings. Are the
• 29:50
Speaker 5: wings hot or spicy? Says a texture or just plain
• 29:53
  Speaker 5: or mild?
• 29:54
Speaker 3: Also? Are they breaded or just sauce covered?
• 29:57
Speaker 8: Okay? They are naked?
• 29:58
Speaker 3: Okay, So there's I would say would be the best
• 30:01
Speaker 3: way to do it would just be And by naked wings,
• 30:03
Speaker 3: we mean just playing.
• 30:04
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 30:04
Speaker 8: Yeah, but you know there is an option if you
• 30:07
Speaker 8: want to bring your own sauces and the you know,
• 30:09
Speaker 8: like put sauce on them. I don't recommend it because
• 30:12
Speaker 8: that takes up time.
• 30:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, all right.
• 30:15
  Speaker 6: Uh.
• 30:15
Speaker 3: The next question was are the wings a mix of
• 30:18
Speaker 3: drummis and flats or just one drummers and flats? Okay,
• 30:22
Speaker 3: so it's kind of a mixture.
• 30:23
  Speaker 8: It's a mix.
• 30:24
Speaker 3: Can a competitor come in and say I want nothing?
• 30:27
Speaker 3: But I would think that would be cheating to say,
• 30:29
Speaker 3: so you're going to get a mix.
• 30:30
Speaker 8: You're going to get a mix, is it now?
• 30:31
Speaker 3: Is it going to be an equitable mixed?
• 30:33
  Speaker 2: So?
• 30:33
Speaker 3: For example, and how many are you eating?
• 30:35
  Speaker 6: Again?
• 30:35
  Speaker 3: How many?
• 30:35
  Speaker 2: Asked? Eat?
• 30:36
Speaker 8: Okay, well the winner is you know what?
• 30:41
Speaker 5: Okay, I guess the question I was asking? How does
• 30:43
Speaker 5: it start out? You start off with like one or
• 30:46
  Speaker 5: I mean, okay.
• 30:46
Speaker 8: What they'll do is they'll bring you out a plate.
• 30:49
  Speaker 8: There's a there's a plate for each person has ten
• 30:51
Speaker 8: on it. Okay, and you know there'll be people standing
• 30:54
Speaker 8: mind watching you eat that. As soon as you finish
• 30:56
Speaker 8: that plate, you'll get another plate replenished, so you know
• 30:59
  Speaker 8: they'll put another I.
• 31:00
Speaker 5: Guess my question is is that on that plate it's
• 31:02
Speaker 5: going to be an equal number of flats and drummings
• 31:06
Speaker 5: or you just don't know what you're getting to to dive.
• 31:08
Speaker 8: In that it's a blend and the company that's doing
• 31:12
Speaker 8: the wings is King's Kitchen.
• 31:15
Speaker 3: Okay, so it's a local business. Okay, Well that's good.
• 31:18
Speaker 3: What about the prize?
• 31:20
Speaker 8: Okay, So there's going to be a female winner and
• 31:24
Speaker 8: a male winner. As I said earlier, the women will
• 31:27
Speaker 8: go up first two o'clock okay, so they'll have ten
• 31:30
Speaker 8: minutes to eat as many as they can, okay. And
• 31:33
Speaker 8: then next up is the men, and it'll be the
• 31:35
Speaker 8: same thing. They'll have ten minutes to eat as many
• 31:37
Speaker 8: as they can. So there will be a female winner
• 31:38
Speaker 8: and a mail winner. Both winners will receive one hundred dollars,
• 31:43
Speaker 8: a free rip frist T shirt and a really big trophy.
• 31:49
Speaker 5: All Right, and we're going to continue this segment because
• 31:52
Speaker 5: we got a lot of lot more text to get to.

• 36:09
Speaker 7: I was involved with the Golf Association doing some uplinks
• 36:14
Speaker 7: and uh, some video stuff for them in my former life.
• 36:18
Speaker 7: And I've seen Michael walk walk the uh the fairways
• 36:23
Speaker 7: of quite a few golf courses, quite a few state
• 36:25
Speaker 7: opens and amateurs and that sort of thing. He can play,
• 36:29
  Speaker 7: he can it.
• 36:29
Speaker 5: I thought you were going to hit me up about
• 36:30
Speaker 5: the Cowboys last night, Joe, That's what I bet. But
• 36:32
Speaker 5: you're also a Cowboys fan, you know.
• 36:35
Speaker 7: I mean I enjoyed the first half and then the lightning,
• 36:40
Speaker 7: you know, and then we'll go from there. But hey,
• 36:43
Speaker 7: they I liked what I saw, to be honest with you,
• 36:46
Speaker 7: I mean, Dylan Hurts can play. And well, let's talk Boomtown.

• 36:52
Speaker 5: She's involved with rib Fest, which is going to be happening,
• 36:55
Speaker 5: uh next week in Marmett. And we're trying to drum
• 36:58
Speaker 5: drum up. See what I did there, Joe. We're trying
• 37:00
Speaker 5: to drum up a little a little not well, not
• 37:03
Speaker 5: the numbers, because they have a women's division in this
• 37:06
Speaker 5: chicken wing eating contest. I don't have a lot of
• 37:07
Speaker 5: women that are signed up yet, and Casey's getting lonely,
• 37:10
Speaker 5: so we're trying to get her some more, some more
• 37:13
Speaker 5: people in there. Now, Joe does a big chili This
• 37:16
Speaker 5: is an internationally talking I mean, I know you're not
• 37:19
Speaker 5: doing that tomorrow, Joe, but talk about what you do
• 37:23
Speaker 5: with your with your chili contest.
• 37:24
  Speaker 3: They're in Nitro.
• 37:26
Speaker 7: Well, it's the Wagon Tales in Nitro Ales Chili cook
• 37:30
Speaker 7: Off that'll be happening the second Saturday in November, November eighth,
• 37:33
Speaker 7: and we will uh it's a sanctioned event with the
• 37:36
Speaker 7: International Chili Society and Casey please say hi to Aaron
• 37:40
Speaker 7: for me. Aaron and I go way back, so I
• 37:42
Speaker 7: know your event will be just a top notch event,
• 37:45
Speaker 7: and good luck with everything but the chili cook off.
• 37:49
Speaker 7: The winner will have three separate winners, one in the
• 37:52
Speaker 7: traditional red category which means no beans or filler, and
• 37:56
Speaker 7: then we have the green category chili verdie. And we
• 37:59
Speaker 7: have the home style category, which is basically what Dave
• 38:02
Speaker 7: cooks for his Super Bowl party that he has every year.
• 38:05
Speaker 7: And those three winners will then qualify to represent the
• 38:09
Speaker 7: city of Nitro in the World Championships every year held
• 38:13
Speaker 7: by the International Chili Society. But that'll be happening on Saturday,
• 38:18
  Speaker 7: November eighth.
• 38:18
Speaker 3: All right, so Casey put that on your calendar. You
• 38:20
Speaker 3: need to be a part of that.
• 38:21
Speaker 7: Hey, do you need a judge, Casey, Dave's got my
• 38:26
Speaker 7: phone number, or you can. Dave's got my phone number.
• 38:29
Speaker 7: Just give me a call and we'll hook you up.
• 38:31
Speaker 8: Okay, I'm a pro at chili judging.
• 38:34
Speaker 3: Come on, all right, we'll make sure make it happen.
• 38:36
Speaker 5: Let's talk about this event tomorrow, Boomtown Days, Nitro's homecoming.
• 38:40
Speaker 5: Talk about the event tomorrow, Joe, Well, you know it's.
• 38:43
Speaker 7: Going to be an event when you're sitting in your
• 38:44
Speaker 7: office and you see in the portageimes set up, so
• 38:47
Speaker 7: you know something something is happening. And yes, it is
• 38:51
Speaker 7: happening tomorrow right here in Nitro. Everything gets underway around
• 38:56
Speaker 7: ten o'clock or so with the parade that will go
• 38:59
Speaker 7: from Pickens Road on Route twenty five or First Avenue
• 39:03
Speaker 7: down to nineteenth Street. If you would like to be
• 39:06
Speaker 7: involved in the Boomtown parade, I will be lighting people up.
• 39:09
Speaker 7: And if you come in and say I want to
• 39:10
Speaker 7: be in the parade. Hey bring it on and you
• 39:13
Speaker 7: can be in the parade, but that lineup starts at
• 39:16
Speaker 7: nine o'clock. Parade starts at ten, and then everything is
• 39:20
Speaker 7: centered around the Living Memorial Park, which is at the
• 39:24
Speaker 7: corner of the intersection of Second Avenue and twenty first
• 39:27
Speaker 7: Street here in Nitro. The vendors will be in the park.
• 39:31
Speaker 7: We got quite a few cramp vendors and a lot
• 39:33
Speaker 7: of information booths and that sort of thing. But one
• 39:37
Speaker 7: of the mainstays of the event is the Nitro Antique
• 39:40
Speaker 7: Car Club Annual Car Show, and we're expecting anywhere between
• 39:44
Speaker 7: one hundred and hundred and fifty cars. They will be
• 39:47
Speaker 7: lined up on Second Avenue from twenty first Street, down
• 39:49
Speaker 7: the nineteenth Street and in into the Nitro Elementary School
• 39:54
Speaker 7: parking lot. Some of the finest vehicles in the Canal
• 39:58
Speaker 7: Valley and there's people that come from all around for this.
• 40:01
Speaker 7: So if you really would like to see some spit
• 40:04
Speaker 7: and polish, that will be happening on Second Avenue. The
• 40:07
Speaker 7: car show is Registration starts around nine, but the cars
• 40:12
Speaker 7: will be out there from at least from ten to four.
• 40:15
Speaker 7: We've got a kids area where we have a Foam
• 40:17
Speaker 7: Dome and that will be right there at Saint Paul's
• 40:20
Speaker 7: Methodist Church on twentieth Street. Some inflatables will be happening
• 40:24
Speaker 7: for the kids and that'll be going on. Gave Who've
• 40:27
Speaker 7: got music and a close front of yours. Steve Bishop
• 40:31
Speaker 7: is MCing from your sister station V one hundred will
• 40:35
Speaker 7: be em seeing the day here in Nitro and the bands.
• 40:40
Speaker 7: We kind of give the local bands a shot at
• 40:43
Speaker 7: just playing in front of some folks that they might
• 40:45
Speaker 7: know and that may not have heard them before. But
• 40:48
Speaker 7: we've got the Barn Holler Band and they will be
• 40:51
Speaker 7: opening up at eleven and then the Analog Boys will
• 40:55
Speaker 7: be coming on around one point thirty. Then our headliner
• 40:58
Speaker 7: will be the Adams Eden Eagles cover band. And this
• 41:03
Speaker 7: show is free, everything you know is free for the
• 41:06
Speaker 7: entertainment and everything, and they will be coming on about
• 41:09
Speaker 7: four fifteen or so and playing until about six fifteen,
• 41:12
Speaker 7: so just a whole bunch of fun. And then and
• 41:15
Speaker 7: in the meantime over at Saint Paul's Methodist Church from
• 41:18
Speaker 7: four to seven there will be the Italian Fest and
• 41:21
Speaker 7: what that is it's the biggest fundraiser of the year
• 41:24
Speaker 7: for the Nitro Mission team and you can go in
• 41:27
Speaker 7: and get your Italian fest of meal. You can either
• 41:30
Speaker 7: eat it there or you can get it to go.
• 41:33
Speaker 7: So just a fun day in Nitro, David, it.
• 41:35
Speaker 5: Sounds like it, and I love the charitable aspect of
• 41:38
Speaker 5: It's with the Nitro mission there.
• 41:39
Speaker 3: That's I was going to bring that up. That's really
• 41:41
Speaker 3: cool that you do that.
• 41:43
Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, these guys just work so hard for
• 41:46
Speaker 7: the community. They handle the food pantry, they handle the
• 41:49
Speaker 7: Christmas backpack program, they handle a toy Big Toy Drive
• 41:54

• 41:58
Speaker 7: and we try to step up for them.

Speaker 5: wanted to ask about the Nitro citywide yard sale.
• 42:20
Speaker 3: Is that going to be a thing?
• 42:23
Speaker 7: We won't be a as organized as it has been
• 42:26
Speaker 7: in the past. In October, we will continue to work
• 42:30
Speaker 7: with the organizers for the June event, which is the
• 42:32
Speaker 7: first Saturday in June, but the October one will be
• 42:36
Speaker 7: still a yard sale. And what we're doing is we're
• 42:39
Speaker 7: also allowing folks to be involved if there is a
• 42:43
Speaker 7: citywide yard sale Facebook page that they can post where
• 42:46
Speaker 7: their yard sales will be, and we are waiving the
• 42:50
Speaker 7: yard sale permit fee on that day, which is the
• 42:53
Speaker 7: first Saturday in October. So as organized as it has
• 42:57
Speaker 7: been in the past, No, is it still happened.
• 43:00
  Speaker 11: Yes?
• 43:00
Speaker 7: Does that answer your question?
• 43:01
Speaker 3: Yes, it does. It's about it. It's very clear.
• 43:05
Speaker 5: And I didn't want to mention that for the parade
• 43:06
Speaker 5: tomorrow because you said Steve Bishop's going to be there
• 43:09
Speaker 5: from being one hundred, some of our stations are going
• 43:10
Speaker 5: to be there. I am going to be there for
• 43:13
Speaker 5: w c HS, Shockley is going to be there for
• 43:15
Speaker 5: the Mountain, and I think Rob Reel is going to
• 43:17
Speaker 5: be there for KWS. So we're looking forward to seeing
• 43:19
Speaker 5: everybody there as well. Now again, if people want to
• 43:22
Speaker 5: sign up for the parade, tell us Joe, what do
• 43:24
Speaker 5: they need to do?
• 43:26
  Speaker 4: Show up?
• 43:26
  Speaker 7: Show up?
• 43:27
Speaker 3: All right, very good.
• 43:28
Speaker 7: I mean we're not talking about I wish we could
• 43:31
Speaker 7: solve cancer with this parade. So we're not simple brain surgery.
• 43:35
  Speaker 3: We're show up a parade.
• 43:37
Speaker 5: Just show up, Just show up. It sounds like it's
• 43:39
Speaker 5: going to be a great day. Are you concerned about
• 43:40
Speaker 5: the weather. You have you talked to Brian Hughes and
• 43:42
Speaker 5: the folks about the weather.
• 43:45
Speaker 7: It's it's weather. Whether you know whether will weather, whatever
• 43:48
Speaker 7: the weather will be.
• 43:49
Speaker 5: Weather's going to weather. All right, Joe, I appreciate it. Man,
• 43:51

Speaker 5: has there been any other thought to doing anything besides
• 49:07
Speaker 5: chicken wings? For I know you're not one of the organized,
• 49:08
Speaker 5: you're just helping out with this, but I mean, I mean,
• 49:10
Speaker 5: could we do ribs? Could we do sides at some point?
• 49:12
Speaker 5: Maybe not this year, but next.
• 49:14
Speaker 8: I mean I'm always open to suggest, so you can

  Speaker 8: eat anything.
• 49:21
Speaker 3: I'm gonna give. I'm gonna give you.
• 49:22
Speaker 5: I'm gonna give you a like a criticism text here, Okay,
• 49:26
Speaker 5: not you personally, okay, It says, uh, Dave. Competitive eating
• 49:30
Speaker 5: is disgusting and the people who participate are a big
• 49:32
Speaker 5: part of the world's problems today. They don't completely eat,
• 49:35
Speaker 5: don't competitively, I should say in Sudan to the God's Trip.
• 49:39
Speaker 5: My answer to that would be, then don't attend. If
• 49:42
Speaker 5: you don't like it, don't go appreciate the text. But
• 49:45
Speaker 5: it's not for everybody.
• 49:47
Speaker 8: You know, it's all in fun. You know, it's not
• 49:51
Speaker 8: just you know, competing or gorging yourself. But you know,
• 49:54
Speaker 8: it's just you know, bring your friends, bring your family.
• 49:59
  Speaker 8: You know, it's that's a good time.
• 50:00
Speaker 3: That's gonna be a good time.
• 50:01
Speaker 5: And of course our station's gonna be broadcasting live from
• 50:04
Speaker 5: up there, I understand. So if this is not your thing,
• 50:07
Speaker 5: there's plenty of other things that you can do there.
• 50:09
Speaker 5: Stuff for the kids, as you said, and music and
• 50:11
Speaker 5: so on and so forth. Tex says, I dip my
• 50:13
Speaker 5: buns in beer. Someone said, that's gonna fill you up.
• 50:16
Speaker 5: If you drink the beer, that's gonna fill you. And
• 50:18
Speaker 5: that's why I like at chili competitions, which I have
• 50:20
Speaker 5: not done chili eating competitions, but I've judged a lot
• 50:23
Speaker 5: of chili competitions. Everybody, they're very very strict on what
• 50:27
Speaker 5: you can drink with it, nothing but water because that
• 50:29
Speaker 5: way doesn't affect the pilott. No, you know, you can't
• 50:32
Speaker 5: add salt, can't add crackers, you can't add cheese or
• 50:34
Speaker 5: sour cream when any of that stuff.
• 50:36
Speaker 3: Everybody has the same thing. Text says naked waners buns.
• 50:41
Speaker 3: This show is wild text.
• 50:44
  Speaker 7: All right.
• 50:45
Speaker 5: There was another text here that I have lost somewhere.
• 50:50
Speaker 5: Oh yeah, this this segment is gross. It is the
• 50:52
Speaker 5: text lol, but they put lol after it. Well it's
• 50:56
Speaker 5: one that you're going to remember, that's for sure.
• 51:00
Speaker 3: All right. Closing moments again, what's the time frame for
• 51:04
Speaker 3: the entire rib fest? Because it's all like, okay, everything
• 51:07
  Speaker 3: kicks off Thursday.
• 51:08
Speaker 5: It's next Thursday through the weekend. And what you're here
• 51:11
Speaker 5: to talk about the chicken weed eating contest. And this
• 51:13
Speaker 5: is a special appeal for women, as you said.
• 51:16
Speaker 8: Yes, yes, I have a couple spots open for women.
• 51:20
  Speaker 2: Men.
• 51:20
Speaker 8: We have plenty, We have alternates in case, you know,
• 51:24
Speaker 8: somebody doesn't show. But yeah, women come out, come out
• 51:28
Speaker 8: full force, you know. Register. There is a Facebook page
• 51:34
Speaker 8: a set up specifically for the chicken wing eating contest,
• 51:38
Speaker 8: and I'm going to start working on bios. I've asked
• 51:41
Speaker 8: everybody to submit pictures that way. You can get to
• 51:44
Speaker 8: know the competitors before the contest even begins.
• 51:46
Speaker 5: So they need to get to go to this Facebook page.
• 51:48
Speaker 5: And that's the best way to do it. And how
• 51:50
  Speaker 5: is it listed?
• 51:51
Speaker 8: Okay? It is the twenty twenty five can All rib Fest.
• 51:56
Speaker 8: Doug Scaff Junior Memorial Chicken Weed Contact.
• 52:00
Speaker 3: Big shout out to my man Scaff. He would have

Speaker 3: Yeah. And and I knew Doug we all Yeah.
• 52:09
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I meant he was an incredible person even

Speaker 8: I was actually welcome to work and he asked me
