- 0:21her chicken coop, along with all her chickens.
- 0:28Hey, everybody, good morning. Can you hear Rufus off in the
- 0:31distance there crowing away? Because I'm on the porch because
- 0:35it's pitch dark and I decided it was nice and not cold and I was
- 0:39going to shoot it from the porch, so maybe you could get a
- 0:41little glimmer of hearing them in the back.
- 0:43I hear pitch dark still. Anyway, today we are talking
- 0:49about the fact that rehearsal is necessary.
- 0:52So when I say rehearsal, what am I exactly talking about?
- 0:57Well, you've heard me all say before that you have to work on
- 1:00having this envisioning process of like when you're doing your
- 1:04end of year ideas, outcomes, goals, whatever you want to call
- 1:07it. You'll start the process by
- 1:09considering all these possibilities like we talked
- 1:12about the other day. And then what happens inevitably
- 1:15for everyone, myself included, we will start running through
- 1:19the situations and we get to how, how am I going to do this?
- 1:24And because we don't know how, it takes us out immediately.
- 1:27Now that is probably primarily in in my world from what I see
- 1:32with clients, that is the biggest thing that happens.
- 1:36It's the how that shows up. But there are other things that
- 1:39show up that take us out. They are the pin to our balloon
- 1:43and we have to recognize that they're happening in order to
- 1:47circumvent them and get around them.
- 1:49And it is imperative, imperative to recognize you can get around
- 1:54them. And this is where I believe we
- 1:56have been equipped by the universe God to give us these
- 2:01tools to do it. And this is where imagination
- 2:04comes in and we get to use our imagination for the greater good
- 2:08of spelling it out. Now we are all very, very good
- 2:12at arguing for our limitations and all the things that can go
- 2:14wrong. Let me state that
- 2:16wholeheartedly. There is no question in my mind
- 2:19that I can argue for all the things that will go wrong in my
- 2:23head. I have that duality.
- 2:25I can do it consistently. My mother made sure I had that
- 2:30gift and quite frankly, it used to drive me crazy and now I do
- 2:34think of it as a gift. I don't let it rule.
- 2:37I don't leave it in charge. It's like leaving a toddler home
- 2:40alone with one of my clients cookies in the tin that she sent
- 2:44me. I can't walk by this damn tin
- 2:46without wanting one of those cookies.
- 2:48Inevitably, this is a thing that you can get past, but you have
- 2:53to understand it in order to get past it.
- 2:55The imagination is incredibly powerful.
- 2:58It is one of our greatest tools that we have when used for the
- 3:02greater good. Meaning I'm, I want to do
- 3:04something, I'm going to think it through from both sides,
- 3:07positive, negative, neutral, look at all the facts before I'm
- 3:11going to make decisions on things about how I'm going to
- 3:15end up doing it inevitably and how always shows up when you are
- 3:19in the right frame of mind. So you can always go back and
- 3:23argue for all the limitations. But let's just assume for a
- 3:26second here, we're going to use this to the greater good and
- 3:29we're going to make sure that we can say, OK, I'm going to use
- 3:33this part of my myself. And I'm going to say, let me use
- 3:38it for all the possibilities of what will go well, could go
- 3:44well, whatever. I would prefer to use the
- 3:47language for myself. That's like, OK, this is going
- 3:50to go outstanding. How is it going to look?
- 3:52What is it going to look like? What is it going to come down
- 3:55to? How is it going to shape out for
- 3:56me so I can put it all on paper? Imagine it the best you can
- 4:01imagine it, give it like you was a slant Grand Slam out of the
- 4:05park. You know, you just won the ball
- 4:07game with a walk off and you took all of these people with
- 4:12you. You just scored six points, five
- 4:15points, whatever it might be, you're going to do it that way
- 4:19and put it down on paper. Now you can go backwards from
- 4:23that point and say, OK, well, what if it was just a home run?
- 4:25What would that look like? What are the things?
- 4:28How would it shape out? What do I need to believe about
- 4:30myself, the process? What do I need to get excited
- 4:34about? You go through and you put all
- 4:36of those on the paper as well. And then you go back and say,
- 4:40OK, now, if it's still in your head and you're still feeling
- 4:43doubt, put the doubt on the paper.
- 4:45Get it out of your head. Don't keep it with you, because
- 4:48there's nothing worse than doing that.
- 4:50There's nothing worse than saying I'm going to keep the
- 4:53doubt hidden. That is a trick.
- 4:55You have to put it out. Don't keep it inside of you
- 4:58because then it feels unheard. It feels like it.
- 5:00It's not going to be listened to, so it becomes pokey and it
- 5:05just niggles at you and annoys you.
- 5:08Ultimately, it's doing its job. It's giving you the information
- 5:11you need and since this is a rehearsal, this is exactly what
- 5:14you're supposed to be doing. Rehearse it.
- 5:16Just think of it that way. Think of it like it's all a big
- 5:19rehearsal and you're running through all the scenarios and
- 5:23it's helping you so it you know what not to do in the live
- 5:27presentation. It's a beautiful way to think of
- 5:29it. So all that being said, you
- 5:32rehearse it in the good meaning. What you're really thinking is
- 5:36your baseline. You think it for the you
- 5:38rehearse the outstanding. What would it be?
- 5:40That was an outstanding performance.
- 5:42And then you can rehearse for if everything went wrong.
- 5:45So you know what you're going to be able to do.
- 5:47But just thinking of all of these things as rehearsals is
- 5:49really going to help the reframe and give you some way to put it
- 5:53in your head that allows you to accept yourself and how you do
- 5:56it. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:58you have a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 6:00Bye.
