- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Diddy Diaries. In today's episode, we're going to talk about
- 0:06Speaker 1: Gene Deal, Diddy's former bodyguard, and some of the shocking
- 0:10Speaker 1: claims that he's made about Diddy over the years. And
- 0:13Speaker 1: considering this is a rather lengthy article, we're just going
- 0:16Speaker 1: to dive right in and I'll keep my whinging to
- 0:19Speaker 1: a minimum. This article was published by Vibe and the headline,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Diddy's Former Bodyguard Gene Deal's Most Shocking Claims. This article
- 0:28Speaker 1: was authored by Armand Diddy's arrest for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and more is arguably one of the biggest legal moments
- 0:38Speaker 1: in music culture. The charges themselves are severe, but the
- 0:42Speaker 1: almost year-long experience of lawsuits filed against him, his homes
- 0:46Speaker 1: being raided by Homeland Security, and footage of him assaulting
- 0:49Speaker 1: Cassie coming out makes it even more of a big deal.
- 0:53Speaker 1: A consistent subtopic throughout this entire case has been who
- 0:56Speaker 1: else may have been involved in what he was allegedly doing,
- 1:00Speaker 1: or at least knew of it. And I think that
- 1:02Speaker 1: that list is growing by the day. I'm not going
- 1:05Speaker 1: to sit here and tell you I know who's on
- 1:07Speaker 1: that list of people who were helping him or enabling him. Well,
- 1:10Speaker 1: besides a few names, we don't really know what was
- 1:13Speaker 1: going on behind the scenes yet. Now, there's been a
- 1:16Speaker 1: lot of rumor. There's been a lot of innuendo. But
- 1:19Speaker 1: I think that when we hear from people like Gene Diehl,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and other people that have been around Diddy for a
- 1:24Speaker 1: long time, people that were exposed to the inner sanctum,
- 1:28Speaker 1: then I think those are the kind of people that
- 1:29Speaker 1: we should be listening to, and we should be paying
- 1:32Speaker 1: attention to. Though many people have been silent, one man
- 1:35Speaker 1: has not. The controversial mogul's former bodyguard Gene Deal. It
- 1:40Speaker 1: is felt like every other day there's a new interview
- 1:42Speaker 1: clip or article dropping where he speaks on things he
- 1:45Speaker 1: saw or knew related to Puff. His name and thoughts
- 1:49Speaker 1: come up so frequently that that they have become both
- 1:52Speaker 1: numbing and overwhelmingly simultaneously. Another conflict related to Deal is
- 1:58Speaker 1: deciding what is true and what's not. With Diddy on
- 2:01Speaker 1: the proverbial gallows, it's easy for anyone to come forward
- 2:05Speaker 1: and reveal things that may not actually be true. Most recently,
- 2:08Speaker 1: he said that Jay-Z hid from Tupac in Las Vegas
- 2:11Speaker 1: hotel room before a concert, hinting at Hov being fearful
- 2:15Speaker 1: of the late rapper, even though there was no known
- 2:17Speaker 1: direct issue between the two. I mean, are we sure
- 2:20Speaker 1: about that? Tupac wasn't too happy with anyone on the
- 2:22Speaker 1: East Coast, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't
- 2:26Speaker 1: Jay-Z from the East Coast? Pretty sure Tupac had some
- 2:29Speaker 1: pretty nasty things to say about Jay-Z as well. So
- 2:33Speaker 1: maybe it's true, maybe it's not. Who knows? That's up
- 2:35Speaker 1: for all of you to decide. His proximity to Diddy
- 2:39Speaker 1: lends itself to having some credibility, but in this day
- 2:42Speaker 1: and age, one has to be apprehensive about taking anyone's
- 2:45Speaker 1: word at face value. Well, there's certainly a lot of
- 2:48Speaker 1: that going around. And that's why my motto always is,
- 2:51Speaker 1: trust but verify. Sure, okay, that's what you have to say. Now,
- 2:55Speaker 1: do we have some receipts to back any of that up?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Or is that just a trust me bro type of source? Now,
- 3:01Speaker 1: with something like this, he's giving us what he says
- 3:04Speaker 1: he personally saw and witnessed while he was in the
- 3:07Speaker 1: employ of Diddy. So you can take that for what
- 3:09Speaker 1: you will. And if he has an axe to grind
- 3:12Speaker 1: or anything like that, it goes against his credibility. But
- 3:16Speaker 1: I think that it's worth listening to. Whether we believe
- 3:19Speaker 1: it or not, that's a different conversation. But for me,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I want as much context as possible, as much meat
- 3:25Speaker 1: on the bone. That way, when we're looking to get
- 3:28Speaker 1: to a destination and figure out what's true and what's bullshit,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we gotta make sure that we have the right coordinates
- 3:34Speaker 1: so we get to the right destination. The community may
- 3:36Speaker 1: never know the truth, but the claims will likely not stop. So,
- 3:40Speaker 1: read through some of Gene Deal's most shocking claims below.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The Notorious B.I.G. wasn't killed in a drive-by shooting. Last February,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Deal sat down with the Art of the Dialogue and
- 3:51Speaker 1: claimed that the notorious B.I.G. shooting was not a drive-by. Rather,
- 3:55Speaker 1: the car was sitting outside, waiting for him all night.
- 3:58Speaker 1: He also said he had an eerie feeling that somebody
- 4:01Speaker 1: was going to die that evening. Wasn't no drive-by. The
- 4:04Speaker 1: car was standing there at the corner, he said before
- 4:07Speaker 1: later calling out movies that falsely depict what happened. Every
- 4:11Speaker 1: biggie movie that you see, they say it's a drive-by.
- 4:14Speaker 1: When the witness tells you the car... was stood right
- 4:17Speaker 1: there at the corner, the car was probably there all night.
- 4:20Speaker 1: His claim is already wild, but the fact, he said probably,
- 4:24Speaker 1: makes it even more controversial because it calls his certainty
- 4:27Speaker 1: into question. I saw this kid lose his life. This
- 4:30Speaker 1: kid died while I was pulling him out of the car,
- 4:33Speaker 1: he said. Before we left Andre Harrell's house, Puff told
- 4:36Speaker 1: me I didn't have to go. Now I went because
- 4:39Speaker 1: I knew that somebody was going to die that night.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Somebody was going to get shot. I did everything in
- 4:44Speaker 1: my power to stop it from being Puff. And it
- 4:46Speaker 1: wasn't Puff. Well, as far as this claim goes, who
- 4:49Speaker 1: the hell knows? I'm not going to sit here and
- 4:51Speaker 1: make pretend I know who killed Biggie. But I do
- 4:54Speaker 1: know this. It was unnecessary. Him and Tupac both. All
- 4:58Speaker 1: over some wax, all over some beef on the records.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And it just went too far. And it never needed
- 5:04Speaker 1: to escalate to where it did. But unfortunately, it ended
- 5:09Speaker 1: up with Biggie and Tupac both being dead and a
- 5:12Speaker 1: whole lot of other people as well. Diddy threatened bad
- 5:15Speaker 1: boy president with a baseball bat. This past July, The
- 5:19Speaker 1: Art of the Dialogue asked Deal about the story of
- 5:22Speaker 1: Diddy threatening former Vibe editor Danielle Smith, specifically threatening to
- 5:26Speaker 1: kill her and put her in a trunk. Deal wasn't
- 5:29Speaker 1: aware of whether or not he said that he would
- 5:32Speaker 1: kill her, but he did believe that he may have
- 5:34Speaker 1: said he'd put her in a trunk because he said
- 5:36Speaker 1: the same thing to former bad boy president Kirk Burrows.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You imagine telling somebody, hey, look, I'll put you in
- 5:42Speaker 1: the trunk. Unless you're speaking New York Italian. You know,
- 5:45Speaker 1: get in the trunk. Besides that, what are you doing, bro?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Anybody who's out here talking like that is reckless as hell.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And they think they're untouchable. Because normal people don't think
- 5:57Speaker 1: or talk like that. That's the same shit when Kirk
- 5:59Speaker 1: Burrows wouldn't sign over his rights to Bad Boy. His
- 6:02Speaker 1: 25% that he was threatening to do that to Kirk,
- 6:04Speaker 1: he said. Like, yo, yo, put that N-word in the car.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Drive him around so I could see him doing that
- 6:10Speaker 1: shit with the putting in the car stuff. The interviewer
- 6:14Speaker 1: asked him a follow-up question regarding the threat to Burroughs,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and Deal shared more details. Yeah, he told Kirk Burroughs
- 6:21Speaker 1: that when he was threatening him with those baseball bats,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Deal said, I think it was like Kirk had to
- 6:26Speaker 1: sign over Bad Boy. He had like 25% of Bad Boy.
- 6:30Speaker 1: But for them to get the deal, everything had to
- 6:32Speaker 1: be in one. Like somebody couldn't own 25% for Puff
- 6:36Speaker 1: to do the deal. So Kirk had to sign over
- 6:38Speaker 1: his shares for them to do the deal, which I
- 6:40Speaker 1: didn't never understand. It wasn't my business to understand, but
- 6:44Speaker 1: Kirk ended up signing over back to Diddy with the
- 6:47Speaker 1: promise that he was going to get it back once
- 6:49Speaker 1: they did the whole thing with Clive Davis and everything.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Kirk had to be threatened in order to do it.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Deal clarified that Diddy didn't threaten him with a real
- 6:58Speaker 1: baseball bat, but rather the mini ones fans could get
- 7:01Speaker 1: at baseball games. You're going to take this long ride
- 7:04Speaker 1: or you're going to give up that percentage of the company,
- 7:06Speaker 1: Deal recounted. Well, it sounds like Diddy and his usual M.O., Now,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm not saying that it's true. Again, I don't know.
- 7:14Speaker 1: But when you start parsing through all of this and
- 7:17Speaker 1: putting the pieces together, certainly sounds like in character for Diddy, no?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Kim Porter's casket was ordered two months before she died.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Kim Porter, Diddy's ex-girlfriend, passed away from what was reported
- 7:29Speaker 1: to be lobar pneumonia in 2018. However, over the years,
- 7:34Speaker 1: many people have speculated that Puff may have had a
- 7:37Speaker 1: hand in her death. That speculation increased when he was arrested.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Gene Deal offered some startling information about the couple in
- 7:45Speaker 1: an interview with the Art of the Dialogue. And this
- 7:49Speaker 1: whole entire relationship obviously was just broken. Anybody who's out
- 7:53Speaker 1: here trying to get their girl to sleep with other
- 7:55Speaker 1: dudes and shit, I don't even know what to say
- 7:57Speaker 1: about that. Honestly, I have no idea what to say
- 7:59Speaker 1: about that. But with that said, if it's consensual, then
- 8:03Speaker 1: so be it. But what we're hearing is that a
- 8:05Speaker 1: lot of this wasn't consensual. A lot of it had
- 8:08Speaker 1: to do with her being plied with drugs, Cassie being
- 8:11Speaker 1: plied with drugs, And then being coerced into doing this.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Because that's the environment that they're in. And that's what
- 8:17Speaker 1: Diddy wants them to do. He highlighted how allegedly her
- 8:20Speaker 1: death was never investigated. Her body was never examined in
- 8:23Speaker 1: the bed where she died. All of her electronic devices
- 8:26Speaker 1: were missing. And she had received a massage shortly before passing.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Despite being reported to have pneumonia. So she had pneumonia.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And she's getting a massage. I mean look. I guess
- 8:37Speaker 1: it's not completely out of the realm of possibility. But.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I would think that if you have pneumonia, the last
- 8:44Speaker 1: thing you want to do is go get a massage. Now,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I've never had pneumonia, though, so maybe I'm wrong. But
- 8:50Speaker 1: it seems a bit weird that you'd want to go
- 8:51Speaker 1: get a massage if you're suffering from pneumonia. The biggest claim, though,
- 8:57Speaker 1: is perhaps the most shocking thing Deal has ever said.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Some people even said that her casket was ordered two
- 9:04Speaker 1: months before she died. I don't believe that, man. I'm
- 9:07Speaker 1: not no conspiracy theorist, but I heard. How you order
- 9:10Speaker 1: a gold casket two months before somebody die, man. Well,
- 9:14Speaker 1: that is pretty convincing if you're looking down that path, right?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Certainly something to put in your pocket. But as far
- 9:21Speaker 1: as it being 100% true, who the hell knows? Who
- 9:26Speaker 1: the hell knows about anything at this point? besides what
- 9:29Speaker 1: we're hearing from the people who say they were abused
- 9:32Speaker 1: and what we're seeing in the court documents. Everything else
- 9:34Speaker 1: is hearsay, right? So we have to go through, parse
- 9:37Speaker 1: through it all, swim through the muck, and look for
- 9:40Speaker 1: that clarity. And that's why we're here every day trying
- 9:42Speaker 1: to do that. Because if not, forget it. We'll get
- 9:46Speaker 1: buried with news, and we'll never be able to figure
- 9:48Speaker 1: out what's what. Nipsey Hussle wanted his music to sound
- 9:51Speaker 1: like life after death before passing. Before passing away in 2019,
- 9:55Speaker 1: Nipsey Hussle, developed a business relationship with Diddy. Gene Deal
- 10:00Speaker 1: spoke about an interesting statement from the late rapper that
- 10:03Speaker 1: he made him raise an eyebrow when he learned that
- 10:06Speaker 1: he had died. You gotta watch what you say to
- 10:09Speaker 1: these demons, he told the Art of the Dialogue before
- 10:11Speaker 1: telling a story how Puff picked up a dove and
- 10:15Speaker 1: it fell straight to the ground as if it was dead.
- 10:17Speaker 1: He eventually got back on track and spoke about how
- 10:20Speaker 1: he didn't know Nipsey well, but knew what he was
- 10:22Speaker 1: doing for the community. Well, that sounds like a bunch
- 10:25Speaker 1: of wildness right there to me. I don't really give
- 10:28Speaker 1: too much credence to what he's saying here about Nipsey Hussle. What,
- 10:31Speaker 1: Diddy killed him too? When we're all said and done,
- 10:34Speaker 1: they're going to have Diddy killing JFK. The music that
- 10:37Speaker 1: he was putting out, that I could say based on
- 10:40Speaker 1: conversations that I heard him speak, that the man was
- 10:43Speaker 1: spiritually connected, he said. He was a child of God.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He had got in front of Puffy one time and
- 10:48Speaker 1: told Puff that he was putting out his music, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: I guess Puff was helping him in some kind of way.
- 10:53Speaker 1: He said, I need my music and my albums to
- 10:56Speaker 1: have that same feel that Life After Death, like Biggie's album. Well,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I could feel that. Who wouldn't want their album to
- 11:02Speaker 1: sound like that? One of the greatest albums ever cut.
- 11:05Speaker 1: We're talking about hip-hop? Without a doubt, one of the
- 11:08Speaker 1: greatest albums ever dropped. And it's not even a debate
- 11:11Speaker 1: in my opinion. Deal got very animated in reiterating that
- 11:15Speaker 1: the feel came from the fact that the Notorious B.I.G.
- 11:18Speaker 1: got murdered, which made his music and the album title
- 11:21Speaker 1: feel a little bit more eerie, but also sell incredibly well.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Deal was asked if it was a good idea for
- 11:28Speaker 1: Nipsey to start working with Diddy, and he was confused
- 11:31Speaker 1: as to why he would work with him when he
- 11:33Speaker 1: already was doing a good job with the team that
- 11:36Speaker 1: he had. Somebody convinced him that he would be a
- 11:38Speaker 1: good look for him, he said, but no disrespect, he
- 11:41Speaker 1: got what he asked for. All right, we're going to
- 11:43Speaker 1: wrap up this first episode right here. And in the
- 11:46Speaker 1: next episode, we're going to pick up with part two
- 11:47Speaker 1: of this article and finish it off. All of the
- 11:50Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 11:54Speaker 1: the description box.
