- 0:00He's pulling in one of the top three offensive players in the
- 0:11league. We're going to be looking at
- 0:12Aaron Judge and saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:15Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:18You don't see LeBron doing that a game.
- 0:20Where you got to go for? Four, I told you, giant feet,
- 0:24Saquon Parker. At this
- 1:33What is up, everybody? It is Aaron Fishman in tonight,
- 1:39filling in for Errol Marks is down in Florida.
- 1:42The mouth is down South. Yes, he is.
- 1:45But we're still here with the great Jabba Chamberlain and of
- 1:49course, Speedy Petty not taking calls exactly tonight because if
- 1:56I'm hosting, that doesn't exactly work with the
- 1:57soundboard. But we have a couple of people
- 1:59calling in for a special segment on their beloved Penn State
- 2:03football program, which is going through a lot of stuff tonight.
- 2:07We got a whole bunch of great stories for you, A lot of
- 2:11baseball, a little bit of football, but definitely some
- 2:15playoff stuff that we got to get into with Speedy's stat.
- 2:20Of the week, Speedy. Well, you may run like me, but
- 2:26you hit like out of the week. So, Jared, what you got for us?
- 2:31I mentioned to Jared in the private chat, he was like, oh,
- 2:34if the Saints don't get the number one pick, we're going to
- 2:38never going to forgive the Giants.
- 2:39Well, the Saints became one of two teams to get their first win
- 2:43of the season last week. The other one in the is the
- 2:46Tennessee Titans because of one of the most bizarre collapses
- 2:49we've ever seen from the Arizona Cardinals.
- 2:51So my side of the week centers around many different parts of
- 2:54that. The obviously the big one that
- 2:56got the headlines, which was Amari Dimarcado doing exactly
- 3:00what Adonai Mitchell did last week, dropping the ball before
- 3:02the goal line. So interesting fact about that.
- 3:06Two parts of it actually had the first one of those gaffes we
- 3:09ever saw in NFL history doing it in 1985 when Pat Tilly dropped
- 3:14the ball in similar fashion before the goal line play
- 3:16against the Dallas Cowboys. There was one technically before
- 3:19that too, but the guy he was with, the Raiders, had a guy he
- 3:23flicked the ball in the air and he was just trying to celebrate
- 3:25with the football at the time. So they technically had the
- 3:28second one, but he had the first one that looked like that.
- 3:30And the Cardinals have actually had two instances where it went
- 3:33in their favor, including one last week where 2 Seattle
- 3:35defenders collided after Seattle got an interception and then
- 3:37Arizona recovered the ball. And then they also had one last
- 3:40year too. James Conner forced the ball out
- 3:43after defensive tackle Tier Tart for the Chargers got an
- 3:46interception last week. So that's one part of it.
- 3:49But there was also an even weirder play after that.
- 3:52So Cam Ward throws an interception to Cardinals rookie
- 3:54safety Dojreon Taylor Demerson. He intercepted the pass and
- 4:00Tyler Lockett recovered it. So somebody forced it out and
- 4:04then Tyler Lockett recovered it in the end zone for the Titans
- 4:07touchdown. That is the first time a play
- 4:09like that happened since Robert Meacham stripped the ball from
- 4:14Commander safety Kareem Moore in 2009 and ran it back all the way
- 4:19for a touchdown off of the turnover.
- 4:22So it's the first time that's happened since then.
- 4:25Just a side note for you, Jabba. This will be the first show, I'm
- 4:28the first one ever to mention Nebraska on this show.
- 4:31Going back to the first thing, Calvin Jones did that in. 19 No,
- 4:33I had a hat on all show. OK, fine.
- 4:36But I have the first one. I guess I say verbally.
- 4:40Calvin Jones also did the same thing D Mercado did in 1992.
- 4:43Just a side note for that. He's the only one that did it in
- 4:45the 1990s. Both in the College of the NFL
- 4:47level but that what happened there with Daughtry and Taylor
- 4:50Demerson. The first time that happened
- 4:51since 2009. So the Titans as a result of all
- 4:54that came back and won after being down 21 to 6.
- 4:58Since in the next Gen. stats era since 2014 they had the lowest
- 5:02average win probability in any game that was won 12.2%
- 5:08throughout the game and they end up winning the game.
- 5:12Well, I guess that's what it's going to take for the Titans to
- 5:14win this year. Let's Why don't we whip around
- 5:17the rest of the NFL Week 5 coverage those.
- 5:23Whip, whip, whip, whip around. All right, so the whip around
- 5:28featuring 2/2 of Wes's guys, some Buckeye receivers going off
- 5:33in his in this first game, a very good game.
- 5:36The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38 to 35 over the Seattle Seahawks and
- 5:40Mecca Buca, Jackson Smith and Jigba definitely helping your
- 5:43bet against Errol with his dominant performance and two
- 5:47perceived busts in the draft of the 2018 draft.
- 5:51Sam Darnold, I was just talking about in Baker Mayfield having
- 5:53some insane performances in that one.
- 5:55But it's Tampa that gets the win, 38 to 35, their third win
- 5:59this season, on in the final seconds of the game.
- 6:05Baker Mayfield stats this year in five games, 65% completion,
- 6:1012183 yards, 10 touchdowns, one pick.
- 6:15He's a dude. Wow, wow.
- 6:19And a lot of that without Mike Evans.
- 6:22Bucky Irving's hurt. Chris Godwin just came back and
- 6:25he's not at 100%. This is wild.
- 6:30They, they kind of said the same thing about him last year too,
- 6:33when Mike Evans out and he like, he just finds a way to get it
- 6:36done. Like he grows on you, you know,
- 6:38it, it's, it's, it's something where it's like you may not have
- 6:42liked him because he kind of, you know, whatever.
- 6:44But then he just, he goes out and he keeps proving it and it's
- 6:47he's fun to watch because you don't count them out.
- 6:51Yeah, I don't think you can. And this was a great game.
- 6:54I wanted us to start with this one.
- 6:56It was back and forth. I do think Seattle is a pretty
- 6:59good team. Sam Darnold had a monster game
- 7:02for Seattle as well. Fell a little short.
- 7:05You said it, speedy. I was on this guy Jackson, Smith
- 7:08and Jigma. I'm a big fan of the of Jacksons
- 7:11in the NFL this year, I guess. But Smith and Jigma is
- 7:15fantastic. My one of my fantasy teams name
- 7:18is I got Smith and Jigma and Jamir Gibbs.
- 7:21It's Gibson, Smith and Jigby with it.
- 7:24That's my team off of the great Will Smith.
- 7:27I think that was a solid one. But he's a top three receiver
- 7:30right now. Speedy.
- 7:32I was right, 100% right. Especially PPR, that guys
- 7:35killing it this season. He's got most of the target
- 7:38share. He's around 100 yards every
- 7:41game. He's the guy they want to throw
- 7:44to. Right before his touchdown, I
- 7:46was like, oh, just throw a skinny posted in jig, but the
- 7:48back of the end zone. Sure enough, they call the play
- 7:50because why wouldn't you want him running that?
- 7:53Because he's that good. He's so good.
- 7:56It just isn't enough to beat Baker Mayfield currently.
- 7:58They got a really good field goal kicker to chase McLaughlin
- 8:02the week before is hidden from 60.
- 8:04He hits the clutch field goal and win this game in this one.
- 8:08In my league with Errol and his friend the Beeve that's in our
- 8:11comment section a lot, I actually have a bunch of guys
- 8:14from that game on that team. I have najigva, I have a buka, I
- 8:17have Baker and I have a kicker. So I ended up getting two O 6
- 8:20this week combined with all that because of.
- 8:24This bukas for real too. Yeah, did you see try to
- 8:28pronounce his name? I didn't see it.
- 8:30Oh, it was rough. The whole dais literally was
- 8:33like looked at him and then and then he tried to say it again.
- 8:36It was. Rough.
- 8:38You know, if he if he was on his team, he would just call him
- 8:41Bookie all the time. He would make something up for
- 8:45sure. 100% Well, that's that first game.
- 8:48Let's go to the next set of games we have.
- 8:51We got we got the international flavor with this one, with the
- 8:55Vikings playing two straight games in Europe.
- 8:58They overcome their travel lag I guess to beat the Browns 21 to
- 9:0217, Jordan Addison with a touchdown late in that game to
- 9:04give the Vikings the lead and more dominance from Danny Dimes
- 9:08and the Indianapolis Colts 40 to 6 over the the Raiders who they
- 9:13won the first game of those. Sorry.
- 9:16I've struggled since. I can't get myself to talk about
- 9:19that yet, so let me talk about the Vikings.
- 9:21Did you see the thing that came out today?
- 9:22The Vikings said one of their field goals was blocked by a
- 9:25string that was holding cameras in the stadium or something that
- 9:30they were complaining that one of their field goals missed the
- 9:32pulley cameras. Yeah, in over in London, but I
- 9:36don't know. They still won anyway.
- 9:37Jordan Addison was actually benched for the first quarter
- 9:40because he ditched the team curfew and went out on the town
- 9:44on in London by himself for the first time and then apologized
- 9:47when he came back, sat him for the first quarter.
- 9:49He gets the game-winning touchdown.
- 9:51That guy's pretty good player, man.
- 9:53The Vikings, it was Carson Wentz.
- 9:56Carson Wentz was down for a second.
- 9:58He came back. They didn't know who who the
- 9:59backup was with some like undrafted quarterback, I think
- 10:03supposed to come in. Carson Wentz still can kind of
- 10:05play, you know, make your stomach turn, have him as your
- 10:08quarterback. But it was good enough to be the
- 10:10bad Browns team. Dylan Gabriel's first start
- 10:12wasn't bad. I think he's bet the best
- 10:14quarterback play that we've seen this year.
- 10:15Flacco's obviously seems to be done at this point in his
- 10:18career. Gabriel might be OK.
- 10:21I mean, he's undersized as we know, but I thought he was
- 10:23confident in that game and he kept it close.
- 10:26That's better than the Browns have done all season.
- 10:27So, you know, a good start for him, I guess, in the loss.
- 10:31Yeah, I guess as far as the Colts, yeah, go ahead.
- 10:33I was. Gonna say it's a good defense.
- 10:34I was impressed with Gabriel too, like showing some
- 10:36composure, showing some smarts as well.
- 10:38And it just again, the Browns, they can only do so much with
- 10:42limited offensive capabilities, offensive line injuries and he
- 10:45made it work. I'll, I'll get him credit,
- 10:47especially his first game internationally.
- 10:48You got to get him some. Yeah, he he made some throws
- 10:52that I I didn't think he could make.
- 10:54And there I mean, there was ones where he's like, you know, only
- 10:57only his player can get it. And you know, for coming into it
- 11:00like he's kind of in a lose, lose situation.
- 11:03Doesn't matter how great he does, they're still going to
- 11:04suck or it doesn't matter how bad he does, they're still going
- 11:06to suck. So it kind of kind of rough.
- 11:09So just go and ball out and and do what you can.
- 11:12All right, I'll do it. We're going to talk about
- 11:14Daniel. Jones.
- 11:18I just don't get it, man. I watched this guy for what was
- 11:21it, 5 years, Speedy? Six years of the same thing over
- 11:25and over and over again, making the same mistakes.
- 11:29There were times where he looked as good as he does right now.
- 11:32There were times and he gave you the hope, and I wanted to
- 11:36believe in the hope a lot. It just never happened.
- 11:42We had that one playoff season, you know, in his second year
- 11:45with Dabo's second year, it it was supposed to be growth from
- 11:51there. It didn't happen.
- 11:53What is he doing this year? Daniel Jones has a 71%
- 11:57completion percentage. He's got 12190 yards, 6
- 12:01touchdowns, 2 picks. He's running the ball.
- 12:04That team is a juggernaut. They have a great offensive line
- 12:08behind Quentin Nelson, who is best guard in football in my
- 12:13opinion. I, I mean, you can argue him or
- 12:16Lichstrom, but I, I love Quentin Nelson, the way he plays.
- 12:19He's just awesome. You have Jonathan Taylor, who's
- 12:23the top five running back in football.
- 12:25Whoever drafted him, pick the right guy this year.
- 12:29Of course it wasn't me, but I wanted him and I think I
- 12:32couldn't get him, unfortunately. What a great job by him.
- 12:35And then you have Tyler Warren, who already is a top five tight
- 12:39end. Immediately, for some reason,
- 12:42the Bears thought Loveland would be just as good as him.
- 12:45Not even close. Oh my God.
- 12:47Tyler Warren's great and Michael Pittman's a good receiver.
- 12:51Josh Downs is a good receiver. And that defense speedy.
- 12:54Tell us a little bit about that Colts defense that made Geno
- 12:57Smith throw his 9th interception, which by the way,
- 13:00is the second most of in the first five games in NFL history
- 13:04behind who's speedy. Daniel Jones, Famous James No.
- 13:09It is Jets legend Zach Wilson. I thought you were, you see you
- 13:15built up Daniel Jones. I think you're going to go back
- 13:17to him. But Speaking of Daniel Jones,
- 13:19before I get to my bid on that, joining us from Florida, we have
- 13:23the host of our show coming in right to talk about some Daniel
- 13:26Jones. Daniel Jones is a beast.
- 13:29That's all I'm going to say about that.
- 13:31How did I tell you guys about Daniel Jones?
- 13:33I told you he's one of the best quarterbacks in the league this
- 13:36year. He's proven it week in and week
- 13:38out. You don't need to figure
- 13:39anything out anymore. He is the quarterback of the
- 13:42future for the Indianapolis Colts.
- 13:44We saw it on Sunday. Once again, it doesn't matter
- 13:47who he's going to, it doesn't matter who's running the ball.
- 13:49If Fred Taylor, Fred Taylor, Boo Taylor, this Taylor, this guy is
- 13:53the best quarterback in the league right now in the AFC, you
- 13:57can argue he's been the most consistent 1.
- 14:00You talk about Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen last night losing
- 14:03against New England Patriots. This guy week in and week out
- 14:06has showed off and done what he was supposed to do.
- 14:09To me, the 2 best quarterbacks right now in the NFL, Daniel
- 14:12Jones and Dak Prescott, there's no argument to that.
- 14:16I've been telling you about these two quarterbacks.
- 14:18They're up for the, to me, the MVP, Most Valuable Player.
- 14:21They've been sensational on both sides.
- 14:23When you look at the NFC and the AFC, there's nobody that can
- 14:26challenge them in both the both conferences.
- 14:29I think they're both have been sensational.
- 14:31They got to keep it up. They got to keep playing the way
- 14:33they are doing it. But Daniel Jones, baby, let's
- 14:37run. Let's go for a title.
- 14:39Indianapolis coach, I got a Danny Dimes jersey coming here,
- 14:42baby, coming here. That'll that'll be where.
- 14:47Well, hold on. Where are you at?
- 14:49I'm. In my girl, I'm in my
- 14:51girlfriend's father's. You know, this is his scene room
- 14:56over here, his scene room. I don't know, man.
- 14:58I, I, we got some sewing systems.
- 15:00We got all different things. I'm sitting here just enjoying
- 15:03myself wearing. By the way, it was like 9095°
- 15:09winter humidity today. It was horrible.
- 15:11I can't stand the weather. And I was sweating my butt off.
- 15:15And you know, it's her father keeps the air conditioning up at
- 15:1876. I mean, I'm sweating my balls
- 15:20off. I got to put the fans on over
- 15:22here, baby. 76 That's terrible. All right, let let's move on to
- 15:28the next one. Yes, you're right.
- 15:30Daniel Jones, 71%. Completely.
- 15:33What did I say? What?
- 15:34What did you say? Fish What?
- 15:35What did you say? See, you would never do this.
- 15:37You wouldn't say Errol. What did you?
- 15:39There you go. Now you can.
- 15:41Now you can come back and say I was right about Jackson Smith
- 15:44and Jigba. Not yet, not yet.
- 15:51Full season is still not a full season yet.
- 15:54Let's win. We'll see.
- 15:55Let's win all. Right, we got the Broncos
- 15:59beating Errol's second favorite team, the Eagles 21 to 17, and
- 16:05the Panthers in what a miserable game to watch.
- 16:08That was 2724 over the Dolphins. The Dolphins below that game
- 16:13after being up my God, quickly on the Panthers.
- 16:17Dolphins game. Those teams are terrible.
- 16:20Don't watch Panthers or Dolphins football the rest of the season.
- 16:23I don't see Bryce. Bryce Young, I guess if you let
- 16:25him hang around, he has enough juice in them to make comebacks,
- 16:29but he's not particularly a good quarterback tag of Vailoa.
- 16:32This might be his last season as a starting quarterback, too.
- 16:35Wait a second, wait a second, hold on a second.
- 16:38There was a record being broken in that game for the Carolina
- 16:41Panthers. Some running back that ran over
- 16:44200 yards and absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage.
- 16:48Who was it? Who was legend?
- 16:50Rico Dowdell. I rest my case ladies and
- 16:53gentlemen. We got a chance to see a world
- 16:56renowned running back running break records for the Carolina
- 17:00Panthers. That was amazing.
- 17:02So to say. It was an unwatchable game.
- 17:05Watching what he did in the game was sensational.
- 17:08You can take that to the bank with a yellow background.
- 17:12You could you could have run for 95 yards against that defense.
- 17:16That defense is so bad, my goodness.
- 17:20But look, the game that we want to talk about are these two
- 17:23Super Bowl contending teams, the Broncos and the Eagles.
- 17:27That Broncos defense, after that one snafu earlier in the season
- 17:30where I put my foot in my mouth, Arrow, yes, I remember.
- 17:34You're absolutely right. They had that bad game.
- 17:36They've been pretty darn good outside of that game this
- 17:39season. They were able to shut down A.J.
- 17:41Brown yet again. He has not done much all season.
- 17:45Devonta Smith had a good game. Landon Dickerson went down in
- 17:47this game. They're having some issues on
- 17:49the line. The Eagles, they're not moving
- 17:50the ball the same way. You know, it's, it's a problem
- 17:53for them. Hopefully, you know they
- 17:55continue to suck and get injuries and lose and don't come
- 17:59back and repeat. That's all I have to say about
- 18:01the Eagles. Yeah, Broncos, I want to mention
- 18:02it. By them, they're a really good
- 18:03team. I want to mention with the
- 18:04Broncos, because I think they were a team that looks close for
- 18:07a while, like they had a close loss to the Charters.
- 18:10They lost close against the Colts when Danny Dimes had that
- 18:13coming out party against against you would say it gets that top
- 18:15defense and really showed what he could do in this cult system.
- 18:18And then you look at you look at the Broncos.
- 18:21They outplayed the charters like you were saying with with a
- 18:24couple teams earlier, just had some costly turnovers in that
- 18:27game, but they were losing. They were like they I don't know
- 18:29if you know the deserve to win meter and hockey fish.
- 18:32If they had one of those for football, like the Broncos
- 18:34probably would have been higher rated than a lot of those teams.
- 18:36Now they finally get one to go their way.
- 18:38Very impressive comeback. It's a very tough defense.
- 18:42Yeah, I kind of was going back and forth with Carter and, you
- 18:46know, he was just like, it's not going to tap in, then it
- 18:50happened and then whatever. But yeah, that game was fun to
- 18:53watch from start to finish. And you know, I was checking in
- 18:56here and there. But yeah, the ending, I was
- 18:58locked in. And it'll be interesting to see
- 19:01how how they play out for the rest of the year.
- 19:04I think they got a shot. Bo Nicks was unbelievable in the
- 19:07fourth quarter. You guys forget this.
- 19:09Bo Nicks threw over 100 yards in the fourth quarter, absolutely
- 19:11dominated the line of scrimmage. She dominated the Eagles
- 19:14defense, which really you can argue has been the best defense,
- 19:17the all around defense in the NFL all season long.
- 19:21Fangiona is one of the best defensive coordinators in the
- 19:23league and he couldn't stop Bo Nicks.
- 19:25Sean Payton had a great game plan in the second-half of the
- 19:28game when they were being completely dominated in the
- 19:30first half by the Eagles. Jalen Hurts could not do
- 19:33anything really in the second-half and it was a
- 19:35complete domination defensively. It was a matter of different
- 19:39halves. It went from domination for the
- 19:41Eagles in the first half to domination of the Broncos in the
- 19:44second-half. And it was Bonex, Bonex, Bonex.
- 19:48I've been saying everything. It's still a sophomore year for
- 19:50him. I want to see what he's going to
- 19:51do all freaking season. But he was sensational in the
- 19:54fourth quarter, absolutely outdueled Jalen Hurts, outdueled
- 19:59that Eagles defense. Congratulations to Sean, Sean
- 20:02Payne, who I think is one of the more successful offensive
- 20:06coordinators and offensive minds we've seen in NFL history.
- 20:09Andy reading him are two of the best of all time.
- 20:12And by the way, one comes from the West Coast Offense and the
- 20:16other comes from Bill Parcells. All right, moving on with the
- 20:22game I was talking about in my state of the day, the Cardinals
- 20:24at the collapse against the Titans.
- 20:26Titans win 2221 and then the Ravens maybe hit rock bottom,
- 20:29losing 44 to 10 to the Texans. So Cooper Rush is not Lamar
- 20:36Jackson. You know the Texans.
- 20:39Don't worry, the Beef still thinks he's better than DAC.
- 20:41So here's my problem with this game.
- 20:43CJ Stroud has really struggled this season and now he get his
- 20:47offensive lines bad. But the Ravens have
- 20:50statistically the worst defense in the NFL and that continues
- 20:53after this 44 to 10 loss against a team that couldn't do anything
- 20:56offensively against a lot of teams.
- 20:59But when you give CJ Stroud time, my goodness, does he throw
- 21:03a pretty ball. Does he seem to always hit it on
- 21:06the money? This is just a guy that needs
- 21:08protection. If they give him protection,
- 21:10that Texas, that Texans team is real good, man.
- 21:13They could be real talent. They still have good young
- 21:15players on that defense. I don't think they're quite
- 21:18there yet because I don't think they have the personnel on the
- 21:20lines, at least the offensive line, but they're not as bad as
- 21:25they looked early in the season. The Ravens, on the other hand,
- 21:29this could be the year from hell for them if Lamar doesn't come
- 21:32back quick and start winning immediately.
- 21:34I don't. I don't think this is a playoff
- 21:36team and it could get ugly real quick and we could see coaches
- 21:39leaving. They were already talking about
- 21:40defensive coordinator might being might be fired.
- 21:43John Harbaugh said he's not going to do it.
- 21:46He might have to change his mind if it gets better.
- 21:48And I got nothing to say on that Titans Cardinals debacle.
- 21:50You said it all in the Stat of the Week.
- 21:52Speeding. Yeah.
- 21:52I'll, I'll skip that because I said that already.
- 21:55Just a weird collapse from the Cardinals.
- 21:56But yeah, from the Ravens standpoint, you can't imagine a,
- 21:59a defense that has this much talent playing as bad as they
- 22:02have. I we knew they had some maybe
- 22:04some edge rush depth concerns, but beyond that, beyond that,
- 22:06they've been seemingly loaded. Zach Orr was being interviewed,
- 22:10not as a main candidate, but interviewed for head coaching
- 22:12positions. And since then, what is this
- 22:15defense doing? It just makes no sense against
- 22:17the worst offensive line in football and you can't even
- 22:19generate anything. Is is definitely concerning for
- 22:22the Ravens. They might again, it's the
- 22:24Steelers leading the division. Maybe they still sweep it out,
- 22:26but if they do, if they they, they'll get in and maybe like 10
- 22:30and seven at best. Yeah, it's it's, it's, it's
- 22:34weird when you see all these teams be successful and then
- 22:36like they get old and it's weird to see.
- 22:39But yeah, if I think it just shows how valuable Lamar is to
- 22:45that team and if he doesn't come back, it's I think the ship is
- 22:51is sailed. If he doesn't come back, I don't
- 22:52know what they'll do without him.
- 22:54And obviously it's it's definitely showing.
- 22:56I'm going to let you guys know I got I got a secret about the ASC
- 22:59N Pittsburgh sucks. They don't have a quarterback.
- 23:03I don't care what anybody says. And that goes for Aaron Rodgers.
- 23:06The Browns, they suck. They're fighting, they don't
- 23:08even know who their quarterback is.
- 23:10And by the way, the Bengals don't have Joe Burrow, they're
- 23:13fine. Lamar Jackson is fine.
- 23:15The Baltimore Ravens are fine. They'll get him back in time.
- 23:18They'll sneak into the playoffs, they'll win the division and
- 23:21they'll find a way in the playoffs.
- 23:23I don't think anybody in the AFC is scary.
- 23:26As far as I'm concerned, Indianapolis has been the best
- 23:29all around team in the AFC really for the 1st 4 1/2, five
- 23:32weeks. So I don't think there's
- 23:34anything being scared or thought about about John Harbaugh losing
- 23:38his job or coach is being tossed away.
- 23:40This team is in the worst. It went from the best division
- 23:43or one of the top 2 divisions in football to one of the worst
- 23:47divisions in football you could sell.
- 23:49I knew England, they look like they're A-Team.
- 23:52They could sneak into the playoffs.
- 23:53Congratulations to them. I'm not going to say anything
- 23:55bad about them. Buffalo's definitely making the
- 23:57playoffs and Miami just sucks and so did Jess.
- 24:00So I, I'm telling you right now, Baltimore spies, everybody's got
- 24:04to stop with this. They look bad.
- 24:06Their defense, this team will figure it out.
- 24:08Lamar Jackson is one of the more prolific, more talented
- 24:11offensive gifts the Baltimore Ravens have ever had in their in
- 24:15their past and all the way to their future.
- 24:18Give it to Lamar. He'll be back soon.
- 24:19Don't worry fans. Joe Burrow might sneak that
- 24:22Bengals team in as well. That Bengals team is our next on
- 24:25the whip around. They have falling to the Lions
- 24:2837 to 24 and the Commanders, with Jayden Daniels returning
- 24:33dominating against the Chargers 27 to 10.
- 24:38The Lions, that game wasn't close that they scored late in
- 24:41the game. Jamar Chase got 2 garbage time
- 24:43touchdowns. That was a massacre.
- 24:45It was the massacre. Everyone expected that Browning
- 24:48is terrible. I just picked the Lions defense
- 24:50up off the scrap heap just to play him this week in fantasy,
- 24:53and I was 100% right. And I only got screwed because
- 24:55of the garbage time touchdowns. Should have got another another
- 24:57four or five points. That's a bad team.
- 25:00And we said it before the season, Joe Burrow was going to
- 25:02have to make miracles himself to make that team a winning team.
- 25:05And then he got hurt right away because they didn't protect
- 25:07them. They have no defense.
- 25:09Their offense is garbage without Burrow.
- 25:11They have a quarterback that turns it over.
- 25:13They're going nowhere. You'd make a good point about
- 25:16the AFC North being so soft that the that the Ravens could come
- 25:19back. But the NFC North, the Lions,
- 25:23everyone you know saying, oh, he lost his assistant coaches.
- 25:26It's going to be a down year for the Lions.
- 25:29That's quite a powerful franchise.
- 25:31They still have a 2 headed monster of Gibbs and Montgomery
- 25:35who both look fantastic. They still got Aman Ross St.
- 25:38Brown and Sam Laporta. That's and they got Jameson
- 25:41Williams taking the top off. That's a really good offense.
- 25:44That's a really good line with Penny Sewell, the best tackle in
- 25:47football arguably. That's a great team.
- 25:49And the Commanders, guess what? They got Jaden Daniels back and
- 25:52the Chargers have no line. And just like I said, they won't
- 25:55be able to do anything. I don't know what you're trying
- 25:58to look at here. I don't know what that is.
- 26:01Is that just some kind of album cover?
- 26:03And there's some kind of picture on the wall.
- 26:05I don't know who it is. I don't know what it is.
- 26:07Well, maybe it's maybe it's, you know, Jaden Daniels, you know,
- 26:11dream to, to, to play so well that he can be referenced in a
- 26:15segment. While that picture is also
- 26:17referenced because Jaden Daniels was a dominator in this game.
- 26:22Now that he's back, healthy or healthy, ish, you know, it took
- 26:25him a little bit to get going. That team's good with Jaden
- 26:27Daniels and that defense is good enough to beat a bad offensive
- 26:30line, so I wasn't surprised. Yeah, and the Chargers, like you
- 26:34said, decimated with the offensive line.
- 26:35It really revolves around their running game, getting anything
- 26:38going. Now, they lost Amari in Hampton,
- 26:39too, to injury. He's going to miss some time.
- 26:41So they're going to have to try to be the opposite of what they
- 26:43normally are in a Greg Robin offense, which is like for
- 26:46Olympic passing attack, that's going to be tough to come by.
- 26:48But Washington's defense, you got to give them some credit,
- 26:50too. They were able to still play
- 26:51well amidst some of the secondary issues that they've
- 26:53had at certain points this year. He still played really well in
- 26:55the front 7. And Dan Quinn deserves a lot of
- 26:58credit for the way, even with during Jayden Daniels injuries,
- 27:01making that kind of thing work. The Lions, yeah, they're they're
- 27:03staying a juggernaut. And the Bengals might we offer
- 27:06you 1, Russell Wilson maybe, to save your season while the
- 27:08Ravens are falling apart too? That's tough.
- 27:13That's tough, Yeah. I mean, commanders, it's fun to
- 27:16watch those and holding together, like you said with
- 27:18Jayden Daniels, I mean, the Bengals is interesting to see
- 27:21how long Bird will be out and to see if if Zach Taylor still has
- 27:25a job that that'll be interesting to to kind of see
- 27:29how that plays itself out. We we've kind of seen that kind
- 27:32of be a topic of conversation lately in the Lions.
- 27:36I mean, there's just, they have so many ways to beat you, so
- 27:38many weapons. And obviously they thought it
- 27:41was going to be a big deal that they lost everybody as as the
- 27:44coaching staff. But as we've seen, they coaching
- 27:46staff doesn't play the game and those guys that they have on the
- 27:49field can sure play the game and they're showing.
- 27:51Ross is, but I don't want to hear about Ross.
- 27:55OK, I have to take that away and plaster it somewhere else
- 28:00because I don't want to hear about Russell Wilson will save
- 28:03the Bengals season. Stop with this garbage.
- 28:05The Lions are fantastic. They got one of the best running
- 28:08games at football. We all know what a guy like
- 28:10Jamir games can bring to the table.
- 28:12We know what Montgomery David Montgomery is as a running back.
- 28:15We know what this offense could be with St.
- 28:17Brown playing on all cylinders. There's no arguments to the the
- 28:21strengths and the weaknesses of the Lions.
- 28:23The Bengals, if Joe Barrow comes back and Week 9, Week 10, they
- 28:27still have a chance because they're in a really bad AFC
- 28:30North. They don't look good.
- 28:32I think their defense is really, really bad.
- 28:34Even with Hendrickson there, you know that Hendrickson doesn't
- 28:36want to be there. You could see the way he is
- 28:39playing, even though he's playing very good football, he's
- 28:42not as aggressive as he's been over the years because I feel
- 28:46like he wants to take care of his body and make sure that he's
- 28:48healthy next year so we can get his long term deal.
- 28:51So I don't think the Bengals are playing on all cylinders, and
- 28:54Zach Taylor's going to be looking for a new job if this
- 28:56team loses, makes it doesn't make the playoffs.
- 28:59But here's The funny thing about the Bengals, The Bengals and Joe
- 29:02Burrow, just think about his career.
- 29:05He gets hurt. He's healthy, gets hurt.
- 29:08He's healthy, he gets hurt. His career has pretty much
- 29:12fallen into place as comeback player of the year.
- 29:15You see the numbers that he is. You see what he can bring to the
- 29:17table when he plays a full season.
- 29:20It's bad news for the Bengals. As far as the Commanders and the
- 29:23Chargers. Here's the problem right now
- 29:24with the Chargers. The Chargers have lost two games
- 29:26in a row against two teams that they're better than.
- 29:30The Commanders are a good team. We all know what Daniels brings
- 29:33to the table. Jamie Daniels is coming back
- 29:35from an injury. He's not 100%.
- 29:37You saw that in the second-half. He started to figure things out
- 29:40and that's because the Chargers defense kind of step back.
- 29:44They play prevent defense. They let Jane and Daniels get
- 29:46comfortable in the pocket. You saw that on Sunday.
- 29:50The Chargers right now, Jim Harbaugh, you know, there's not
- 29:53a lot of things that he said at the press conference.
- 29:55Pretty much we're not playing our game.
- 29:56We got to figure this out. We we have the ability to be as
- 29:59good as any team in football. We know that the commanders,
- 30:02they're dangerous. If the Commanders play like this
- 30:05and they can run the ball as well as they have with the three
- 30:08headed monster that they bring to the table, they don't need
- 30:10Robinson, they don't need star running backs.
- 30:13They just need a dish of guys that can give you a little
- 30:16different kinds of pudding or jello.
- 30:18You can see the difference of this team when they're playing
- 30:20on all cylinders. And by the way, ladies and
- 30:23gentlemen, I told you how important Devo Samuel is going
- 30:26to be in this offense. Sensational, as we say.
- 30:31He's looked sensational since he's come to the Washington
- 30:33Commanders. Yeah, Bill Croskey Merritt, the
- 30:36running back from the seventh round.
- 30:38Two touchdowns in this game, last one speedy.
- 30:40Yeah, last one the Thursday night game.
- 30:42The Niners win a thriller against the Rams 26 to 23, and
- 30:47the New England Patriots give the Buffalo Bills their first
- 30:49loss to the season. And the 72 Dolphins can
- 30:51celebrate again. Somebody called me after the San
- 30:54Francisco game. OK, this man had the audacity to
- 31:00call me after the game, the San Francisco game, and tell me,
- 31:04Kyle Shanahan, Who? And you know who I'm talking
- 31:08about, Owen, the mouth of the South.
- 31:11You want to talk about the mouth of the South?
- 31:12He's the mouth of the North. This guy's lost.
- 31:15He tells me. Oh, look what he's doing with
- 31:18this quarterback. This guy's this guy's washed up.
- 31:21This guy isn't good. The plates, OK, San Francisco,
- 31:26they look good. That doesn't scare me.
- 31:28They played A-Team. Honestly, the Rams have been up
- 31:31and down. This is not an all around good
- 31:33Rams team. Their defense shows up one week,
- 31:36their offense shows up the next. They don't play on all
- 31:38cylinders. Pukunaku is sensational.
- 31:41They can run the ball with Williams.
- 31:42How long is this going to last? And Matthew Stafford, an injury
- 31:46prone quarterback. Could you stop Owen?
- 31:48Could you stop reaching out to me and telling me about Kyle
- 31:50Shanahan? He stinks.
- 31:53This team stinks with the easiest schedule in the NFL.
- 31:56Wash your mouth with some soap, baby.
- 31:59Wash your mouth with some soap. You see the veins?
- 32:02You can sell that. I love you, Owen.
- 32:05And I can't wait until you come on the show, you add that little
- 32:07dress, lipstick and nice, beautiful wig.
- 32:10Because when you're dressed up in that sensational Halloween
- 32:13costume, I will be laughing as you will be the new.
- 32:17What's this guy? This serial killer on Netflix?
- 32:20Yeah, that's who he looks like. That guy.
- 32:22Sell that. Yeah, he he.
- 32:26Told he told me he called you and I just started.
- 32:28I was like, I can only know where this conversation went.
- 32:32So I was, I was waiting to I was, I didn't know if you're
- 32:35going to come on. I was going to ask you about it
- 32:37on Thursday, but Oh yeah. I was like, oh boy, He just just
- 32:42adding fuel to the fire on that one.
- 32:44I, I miss, I'll say this, I miss Owen and Moen Owen.
- 32:47Moen Owen actually said he misses us and, and he, he hopes
- 32:53that he can eventually come back and, and add a little bit of
- 32:56content to the show. And I told him what?
- 32:58Let's talk off air. And I miss you too.
- 33:01Oh, you're crazy. You lost your mind and you can
- 33:04sell me whatever you want. Your Nebraska feeling.
- 33:07You're Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska feeling that's not going to sell
- 33:12me about how bad San Francisco is all around.
- 33:15This is not a good team. Stop selling it.
- 33:17And I don't want to hear by by week nine, week 10.
- 33:20I oops, going to be back. By the way, congratulations to
- 33:25the Patriots. Sensational game in the fourth
- 33:28quarter. Great coaching by Frey Ball.
- 33:30And This is why they have the right coach in place over there
- 33:33with the New England Patriots. I'll play the Bills play great
- 33:36defense in the second-half and shut Josh Allen down.
- 33:39Yeah, I was going to comment on the same thing.
- 33:41The defense of the Patriots. The game plan of Rabel.
- 33:44The halftime adjustments. Halftime.
- 33:48That was huge. As a master class, you know,
- 33:51there's only so many teams that are able to stop, you know, to
- 33:54contain Josh Allen. They were able to do it.
- 33:57Josh Allen, you know, it's been fine to start the year.
- 33:59Maybe isn't putting up mind blowing numbers.
- 34:01I, I know you were saying, you know, we got Baker and Daniel
- 34:04Jones. I I'm still going with Josh
- 34:06Allen as the MVP. You know, I, I think when it's
- 34:09all said and done, that's the guy if you can get good.
- 34:11Dag Prescott. I'll go get him.
- 34:12Dag Prescott. Dag Prescott's been the best
- 34:14quarterback in the NFL. They're going to win 7.
- 34:16But they're going to win seven games.
- 34:18It doesn't matter, right? It doesn't matter if he puts up
- 34:21the numbers that I think he's going to be put up putting up
- 34:23this year. There's no way you can argue it.
- 34:25He has been the best quarterback in the NFL all season long.
- 34:30You want to talk about what he has done and they don't have a
- 34:32defense and they're still winning games right now.
- 34:35Don't stop talking bad about this guy.
- 34:37This guy. I would say this, Daniel Jones
- 34:42has a better chance currently than him because that team's
- 34:44better and they're going to win more games and you don't give.
- 34:46And MVPS aren't on losing teams, they just never are.
- 34:49I don't care how good the quarterback is.
- 34:50What did wait A. Second, you're going to tell me
- 34:52that Dad can't get that team in a wild card?
- 34:54You can't tell me Dad can't get that team in a wild card.
- 34:57I'd be shocked if they go 5. 100 really shocked seeing the land
- 35:00is not even in this lineup you crazy defense.
- 35:08Their defense is ranked in the top.
- 35:09Sorry I was making a real point their.
- 35:11Defensive in the top 15 right now.
- 35:14They played well the last two weeks.
- 35:17They're in the top 15 in the last two weeks.
- 35:21The Giants. Stop it, stop it.
- 35:24Prescott done his job. I'm not out of my mind.
- 35:26They're the Cowboys are a lot better than you say they are.
- 35:29Their defense is played well. Stop it, stop it.
- 35:32They don't have a star, they don't have a star corner, they
- 35:34don't have star corner and they don't really have a star pass
- 35:36rusher. And they're still doing what
- 35:38they're supposed to be doing. Defense.
- 35:42I know he's not Dick stinks. He's stinks.
- 35:45You're going to tell me you're 1 good player on their defense?
- 35:49Don't stop. Name one.
- 35:49I'll wait one. You stop, stop.
- 35:52Stop me Dicks. Don't sell me Dicks.
- 35:55Don't sell me Dicks. He's not he's not a top.
- 35:57And. Corner.
- 35:58He's not. Name one player on their
- 36:00defense. What do you mean name one good
- 36:02player? What do you mean one good
- 36:05player? He's good five years ago.
- 36:11No, he's still a good player, man.
- 36:12He's still a good player. Stop Sauron.
- 36:14He's still a good player. Stop it.
- 36:16Stop it. I'm not.
- 36:17I'm not going to get. Out.
- 36:18I'm going to give you another one.
- 36:19That's Dante. Fowler.
- 36:21How about Dante Fowler? He's bad.
- 36:23He's. Bad 32 Stop.
- 36:25Stop, stop. Get up.
- 36:27He's got 4 1/2 seconds. Hey, watch.
- 36:29Stop gifts. You'll read between the lines,
- 36:31baby. Read between the lines.
- 36:34You are out in your damn mind. I don't know.
- 36:37You can read it between the lines.
- 36:38Read between the lines. Think about.
- 36:39This. Watch this.
- 36:41Ready. That's what I'm going to say.
- 36:44That's what I'm going to say. You're adding your damn mind.
- 36:47The Cowboys right now and their defense have been a lot better
- 36:50than you say they are. Dante Fowler has been one of the
- 36:52best defensive players in the league.
- 36:54Stop it. Wash your mouth with soap.
- 36:56Wash your mouth with soap. No, I'm not going to do that.
- 37:00Matt Jones, by the way, was the guy that many people thought
- 37:04Kyle Shanahan wanted in that draft when he kind of changed
- 37:08his mind and took Trey Lance. Mac Jones in this game, 33 of
- 37:1149342 passing yards, 2 touchdowns leads them to the
- 37:16victory. Who does he get most of the
- 37:17passing yards to? Old Patriots buddy Kendrick
- 37:20Born, 10 catches, 142 yards. But the big story was this
- 37:25Bill's collapse against the Patriots.
- 37:28Let's finish this up speedy. What do you got on Vrabel's
- 37:32master class? I'm, it's, it's interesting
- 37:34because Vrabel's actually did that a lot with the Titans too.
- 37:36They played up to good teams. A lot of the time they'll be
- 37:39played down to bat or sometimes the talent deficiencies with
- 37:41their passing in the Titans help them back at certain instances.
- 37:44But they, they, I think besides the playoff game and I think one
- 37:47other game against the Chiefs, I think they were like 5 and two
- 37:50against the Chiefs. They played very well against
- 37:51the Ravens, including that playoff win that they had.
- 37:54Like they play up to a lot of these good teams.
- 37:56And I think this is another case of that where I see the division
- 38:00game. Sometimes you do play the you do
- 38:02play those games closer. And that defense does a lot of
- 38:05credit considering all the injuries that they've had
- 38:06throughout the year, all this new pieces going in all at once.
- 38:09I think Raybould did a fantastic job considering the
- 38:12circumstances and considering all the offensive issues that
- 38:15they had, like making those newer receivers, making it work,
- 38:18Romandra Stevenson at the fumble at the beginning, but then play
- 38:20well after that. And the Patriots definitely
- 38:22deserve a lot of credit. This is the team that's
- 38:24definitely on the rise. And now they get the adversity
- 38:26when to go along with it. Job you got anything to add or
- 38:30we got? We're going to finish whipping
- 38:32it around here. Nope, you guys covered it all.
- 38:35I think we did and that has been yet another whip around for Week
- 38:415 of the NFL. But normally in this spot,
- 38:44Errol, we would go to a break. We have something special
- 38:47planned tonight that we haven't really done.
- 38:49I made sure we got a couple of Penn State fans ready to come
- 38:54on. You guys can both come into the
- 38:57screen right now. I'm going to put you on the
- 38:59side. I want to welcome our old intern
- 39:03James, a big Penn Stater, and my brother-in-law, Armando Horda
- 39:09coming on in to talk about their beloved Penn State Nittany
- 39:14Lions. Let me give you the read I have
- 39:17here and then we'll get into it. In the most shocking upset of
- 39:21the college football season so far, and perhaps in many
- 39:25seasons, winless UCLA with an interim staff stunned #7 Penn
- 39:30State 42 to 37 since 1936. They are the are only the 4th
- 39:36team ranked in the top 10 to lose to a winless team and the
- 39:40first team since #7 BYU was upset by UTEP in 1985.
- 39:46Not sure, that might have been Steve Young's team.
- 39:49UCLA came into the game O and 4:00 and had fired their head
- 39:53coach and both coordinators after a loss in New Mexico on
- 39:56September 14th. Despite the odds, UCLA LED at
- 39:59halftime 27 seven, the largest halftime deficit Penn State has
- 40:04ever had versus an unranked opponent.
- 40:06After the win, new offensive coordinator, former UCLA
- 40:09quarterback and the son of former UCLA head coach Rick
- 40:12Neuheisel, Jerry Neuheisel, was given a Gatorade bath and
- 40:16carried off the field. Projected first round NFL draft
- 40:20prospect Drew Aller had just 200 passing yards and two
- 40:23touchdowns, including just 64 in the first half.
- 40:27Aller was also the leading rusher in again with 78 yards.
- 40:30The normally dynamic duon of duo of Catron Allen and Nicholas
- 40:34Singleton were held to only 89 yards combined.
- 40:38Many fans are calling for head coach James Franklin to be fired
- 40:41after this loss following the devastating double OT loss to
- 40:45Oregon at home the week before. If Franklin were to be fired,
- 40:48his buyout is an estimated $56 million as he is only in Year 5
- 40:53of a 10 year, $75 million contract signed back in 2021.
- 41:00So let me tell you a little bit about what I know about James
- 41:03Franklin before we get into this because I don't think there's
- 41:05going to be a lot of positive things said about Coach
- 41:08Franklin. I do have some positive things
- 41:11to say about him. When I was, I guess this was
- 41:14Saquon's breakout year when he was at Penn State.
- 41:18I got, I was lucky enough, I went with a friend that a
- 41:20colleague that I coached with, Coach Bakia, brought me down to
- 41:25Penn State. We got an invite.
- 41:27He was the former position coach of their at the time, offensive
- 41:32coordinator Joe Morehead, who had this really great innovative
- 41:35offense as the offensive coordinator at Penn State.
- 41:38It was kind of like RPO everything, but he took it to a
- 41:41whole nother level where there were four options on every
- 41:44single play, including like down the field options.
- 41:46I thought it was remarkable and it wasn't surprising that that
- 41:49team went, was finished the year ranked #2 While I was there, it
- 41:54was like first class treatment by Franklin and his staff.
- 41:58I mean, they gave us beers, they let us go talk to all their
- 42:01coaches, they let us sit in on spring practice.
- 42:04They let us ask questions, they let us draw stuff up.
- 42:07We got full access to literally everything we wanted.
- 42:10And he was just an awesome stand up guy.
- 42:12He was, he at one point sat right behind me just at one of
- 42:15the the clinic sessions because he was just checking up on his
- 42:18guys. It's not surprising why people
- 42:21like him so much. That being said, he seems to
- 42:26lose all the big games routinely over and over and over again.
- 42:32Speedy, you're going to have to tell me what the exact stat was,
- 42:34but I know that we said the week before, I think it might have
- 42:37been a Tic Tac, no. It was in tech Tech no.
- 42:38It was 4 and 21 against against top ten teams since he since it
- 42:45became Penn State's head coach which was the which was the
- 42:48second worst or third worst ever only to Hugh Freeze and jobless
- 42:53guy Matt Rule win percentage wise.
- 42:56Not the type of company that you're trying to keep as far as
- 43:00being successful. You know, if I, if I was a Penn
- 43:03State fan, which I'm not, I went to school in Buffalo.
- 43:07They were a bad football program when I was there.
- 43:09I didn't really get into college football the same way that some
- 43:11people do, especially if you go to a big football school.
- 43:14But I know Penn State fans love themselves from Penn State State
- 43:18College. It's a whole culture over there.
- 43:20I mean, before we get to talk to the two of you guys, I mean, I
- 43:23didn't expect to have you on Errol.
- 43:24Did you catch any of this game? Yeah, I watched the whole game
- 43:27and it's not Franklin's fault. Are you?
- 43:29You guys going to stop this shit?
- 43:31This is the guy that took them one game away from going to a
- 43:34national championship last year. You're going to sit here and
- 43:37you're going to point fingers, You're going to say, oh, well,
- 43:39he can't win big games, blah, blah.
- 43:41He was one game away from going to a big game.
- 43:43So stop this crap. You're going to fire somebody.
- 43:46You're going to toss him to the ground because the Penn State,
- 43:49the fans still naked. Stop it.
- 43:53This is a team that's still going to the tournament.
- 43:55They're still going to get into 12 team tournament.
- 43:57They're still capable of winning a national championship.
- 44:00He got to stop this garbage. I know everybody wants to point
- 44:03their fingers and say somebody's not good and not this and not
- 44:06that. It was a bad game.
- 44:07They lost a very bad game. That happens.
- 44:10There's always games that make you look bad.
- 44:13I don't care if it happened in 1936 or 1800.
- 44:17This guy took his team almost to a national championship leisure.
- 44:20So stop this garbage. But they're not ranked anymore,
- 44:23though, Errol, it doesn't matter.
- 44:25It doesn't. Matter.
- 44:26It doesn't matter. You can't make top 12 if you're
- 44:28not ranked. They're going to make top 12.
- 44:30What's the record? Right, A four and one. 2 They
- 44:33lost the Oregon, then they lost. The four and two, OK, so if you
- 44:36if they lose another game, they're out.
- 44:38All right, they're out. But they still have a chance to
- 44:41make it. They still have a chance.
- 44:43And their schedule, their schedule still falls in those
- 44:46points. If they win out their games and
- 44:48they figure it out, they could still make the tournament.
- 44:51This is still a very good team for anybody to sit here and say,
- 44:54oh, well, they lost against the UCL.
- 44:56UCLA has very good recruits. They've got three guys that
- 44:59could be first round talents going into this coming class.
- 45:03So to say that they're not good enough and you can't see
- 45:06championship now, UCLA's not winning any.
- 45:08They fired their coaches. We all know what they did.
- 45:11It doesn't mean they don't have talented players over there.
- 45:13And I I've said this about the Penn State quarterback.
- 45:16A lot of fans like this kid. He's a first round talent.
- 45:19I don't know if he is. I think he's a second round
- 45:22early guy. I don't think he's a first round
- 45:25talent. This quarterback class is going
- 45:27to be very intriguing and very interesting how everything falls
- 45:30because I think we know who's going to be in the top five
- 45:33looking for a quarterback. That's all I'm going to say
- 45:35about this. I know you Penn State fans don't
- 45:37like it and you're Kate, This guy, this guy is still a good
- 45:40coach. He's he's and one of the more
- 45:42respected coaches in college football.
- 45:45That's all I'm going to say about that.
- 45:47Jabba, I know you're a big college football fan.
- 45:49You know, I know Nebraska's had their their struggles, but I
- 45:54don't think even Nebraska played A-Team where their coaching
- 45:57staff, Jerry, like Jerry Neuheisel, he said that he
- 46:01hadn't even practiced wearing a headset before, not once.
- 46:05They had just made him offensive coordinator this week, The kids
- 46:0827. He was their quarterback a
- 46:10decade ago, less than a decade ago.
- 46:13It's pretty embarrassing, man. Like, I know you had that big
- 46:18let down against Oregon, but you can't come back out like that.
- 46:23That's that's crazy. Unless Jerry Jerry Neuheisel's
- 46:27the next Bill Belichick somehow, I mean.
- 46:29He's already surpassed Bill Belichick in college football
- 46:32the way he's coaching. Well, that's a slightly
- 46:35different story. But Jabba, like how do you, how
- 46:37do you rationalize something like this?
- 46:40I don't I mean it's tough. Anything with Penn State though,
- 46:43I I cheer against them because the good old as a Husker, it's
- 46:47it's tough. So anything good that happens in
- 46:49crappy valley, you're all good. No, I actually I had a great
- 46:53experience there. My manager was he went to Penn
- 46:56State, but I, I think like for me, the game was, was very
- 47:01interesting, but as a dad, it was a really, really cool dad
- 47:04moment to watch Rick Neuheisel's watch his son, you know, do
- 47:08something really cool. And I don't know if you guys saw
- 47:10it, but you know, he was, he was on the dais doing, I don't even
- 47:15know who he works for, but just to watch your son and how proud
- 47:18he was was was super cool. And you know, to see Penn State
- 47:22kind of just, he doesn't win big games, but he's also win that he
- 47:27can. I, I don't think it's all on
- 47:29him. It's just, I think it's
- 47:32magnified when you've been as good as he is that it's kind of
- 47:35fell into what it is right now. And everybody likes to have the
- 47:39good old red panic button ready to hit, But I don't think he hit
- 47:43it on. He's been too good for too long
- 47:44that I don't think it's it's ready to throw everything to the
- 47:48wayside. We got speedy I.
- 47:52Was going to mention like a lot of the times when you see his
- 47:55down games in Penn State, it's more two things more to the end
- 47:59of the season and more in lower scoring fashion.
- 48:01To see in higher scoring fashion, losing a defensive
- 48:03shootout with a defense that's been known as front 7,
- 48:08especially linebacker factory for years is crazy to think I
- 48:12thought 2023 for Penn State was their best shot.
- 48:15That was their best all around team and they end up blowing it
- 48:19that year, losing to Michigan. When Michigan, this was right
- 48:22during the beginning of the scandal.
- 48:24So they were with an assistant. They were with an interim coach
- 48:27at the time because Harbaugh got suspended.
- 48:29Yeah, it was one of the three games and I think they Michigan
- 48:31beaten by 14 or something like that.
- 48:33And even before that losing to Ohio State, Wes, our our
- 48:37resident betting guy was a huge Buckeyes fan, was texting me
- 48:40couple weeks before that game. He was very afraid of that Penn
- 48:43State team the way they were all around in that game.
- 48:45So I thought that was their best shot.
- 48:46I would have made the move. Then again, the buyout decision
- 48:49just re extending and makes it very tough.
- 48:51But to this point, like I it just seems kind of stale, like
- 48:55you're going to get the same kind of result.
- 48:56And I think they've hurt your Aller's development too.
- 48:58Like they kept Sean Clifford in the game in the in the games for
- 49:03the 2023 season when Aller was ready at that point too.
- 49:07And I think I think it happened. I think it definitely affected
- 49:10him where he might look good on paper, but like Arrow was
- 49:13saying, like maybe he's not as first round ready as we think
- 49:16because of it, because he's just been streaky statistically and
- 49:19really bad in conference play. And I think a lot of that.
- 49:21Has to do around talent. He's not what are you guys, you
- 49:26Penn State guys and I can't wait to hear this crap.
- 49:28He is not a first round talent. I don't know what you guys are
- 49:31watching. He's a doofy tall guy that
- 49:34they're comparing to Ben Roethlisberger.
- 49:36He's not Ben Roethlisberger. You guys need to stop it.
- 49:39You Penn State fans need to stop it.
- 49:41He's nowhere close. And I, I don't want to hear
- 49:44about it because you're going to say the stop the development of
- 49:47but, but, but obviously the coaching staff knows the
- 49:49quarterback and knows his game and the way his game should be
- 49:53played with the roster that he has.
- 49:55He's not as good as you think he is and he's proving it week in
- 49:58and week out that he's not as good as he's not.
- 50:00I don't want to hear about his 78 yards run.
- 50:02Throw the damn ball. You want to make it to the NFL,
- 50:04You got to be a dual fret. You're not a dual fret.
- 50:07That's it. That's all I want to say.
- 50:09Jackson Dart showed a little bit more umph in his game when he
- 50:13needed to show it to make himself a first round talent.
- 50:15This kid is not a first round talent and has nothing to do
- 50:19with development. The kid is not as good as you
- 50:21think he is. Now, I think you might be right.
- 50:24I'm looking online, they're saying that he's dropped to a
- 50:26potential third round pick right now with his poor play.
- 50:30Look, you can't teach size and the guy's got size, so that's
- 50:35like a first thing, but. Before we want to transition, I
- 50:37just wanted to say this before we transition to the Penn State
- 50:40guys giving their thoughts. My comments were more of how
- 50:43basic of a quarterback Sean Clifford was then, then Drew
- 50:46Aller, maybe not being ready at the time, but still like upside
- 50:49was there. Like, make the move when you're
- 50:50in your best chance of a winning season in 23.
- 50:53I I think my point is, like in college football, especially
- 50:57those big programs when you're not an offensive coordinator.
- 50:59Franklin, if I'm not mistaken, was a special teams guy dating
- 51:03back and he has all these really great coordinators, but then
- 51:07they get jobs and they move on and they become head coaches.
- 51:11And then it's a new offense and he's really dependent on having
- 51:16good coordinators, you know, there for a number of years to
- 51:20build a system. And if they don't stay and
- 51:21they're constantly changing, how can a guy like alert develop if
- 51:26you're if that's happening, that's just a function of
- 51:27Division One football and your head coach being more of an
- 51:31overseer, which I think he's really good at than a scheme
- 51:36guy. I don't think he's really a
- 51:38scheme guy, which is not. Jalen Hurts, how many coaches
- 51:43did he have? Jalen Hurts jumped from one team
- 51:45to another and Jalen Hurts almost won it.
- 51:47He won a national champion as a backup.
- 51:50And then he goes over there and he does what he does over there
- 51:53in Oklahoma. The guy can play.
- 51:55All right, I'm I'm telling you, it doesn't matter about what
- 51:58coaches have. If you're a good player, you're
- 52:00going to show you. Finally, by the way, Jalen Hurts
- 52:02was the second round draft pick. So I don't want to hear it this,
- 52:05but you know what you're proving.
- 52:07My point? You're proving my.
- 52:08Point. Really.
- 52:09Really. Hurts didn't play the first
- 52:12Jalen Hurts they didn't think was ready development.
- 52:16Was so skewed. Well, that's what I'm saying,
- 52:18that his development was skewed because of those things, that it
- 52:22slowed him down a year or so. I'm not saying that Aller's bad,
- 52:25but he's going to drop in the draft.
- 52:27How did it slow down? He was in a national title game
- 52:30and two attack. Viola took over in the
- 52:32second-half and he didn't He was the starting quarterback.
- 52:36He was the starting quarterback. The Alabama Crimson Tide all
- 52:39season long went to a national championship.
- 52:41He had a bad game. People have bad games.
- 52:44He went with Dua. So in the second-half.
- 52:46So I don't want to hear this. This quarter never had different
- 52:49coaches the. Guy.
- 52:52I'm telling you right now, this guy from Penn State, the six
- 52:55foot 8 giant who everybody thinks is going to be Ben
- 52:58Roethlisberger, he's not anything.
- 53:00He's not going to be good in the NFL.
- 53:02Sell that book. That boys, you parenting fans.
- 53:05Putting this bad juju on, you know what's going to happen.
- 53:07You know he's stepping. I'm right.
- 53:10You know what's going to happen. He's going to end up being on
- 53:12The Jets. That's what's going to happen.
- 53:14Well, you're going to have to drill them for 10 years.
- 53:16The. Jets aren't drafting him.
- 53:17The Jets aren't drafting him. Trust me, they're not drafting
- 53:20him. They're definitely not about.
- 53:21Ten years after drafting. Christian Hackenberg, You want.
- 53:24You want to bet on that? You want.
- 53:26Success with Hackenberg. Get out of here.
- 53:29All right, Next step, Give the Penn State boys a chance here.
- 53:31Give the Penn. State so I really, I really
- 53:34wanted to hear from a couple of people and we're going to start
- 53:37with my brother in Laura Mondo. Armando, welcome to the show.
- 53:40Thank you for bringing me on guys.
- 53:41How you doing today? It's been great.
- 53:43It's been a long day. Really had to have your take
- 53:45ever since I've known you. The biggest Penn State fan.
- 53:49It was when I first started, you know, dating my wife.
- 53:51You know, it was like, oh, let's just get some Penn State
- 53:54presents for birthdays and stuff like that.
- 53:56It was super easy because I knew that if you're a Penn State guy,
- 53:59you're really a Penn State guy. And I've known you.
- 54:01I know you are. That was a tough one this week.
- 54:06They're all tough, right? But what I want to say is I, I
- 54:10wasn't on the fire Franklin bandwagon up until this last six
- 54:16months or two year or so. And realistically, he's 115
- 54:21against the top five and four and 20 against the top Penn at
- 54:26Penn State. He sucks.
- 54:29You can't justify it at all in any way, shape or form anymore.
- 54:33There's actually a clause in his contract that whatever contract
- 54:37he signs next. So if he, unless he goes
- 54:39unemployed, that $56 million buyout gets reduced by his
- 54:43contract, right? So there's space for Penn State
- 54:47to make moves here and they should because he's not he's not
- 54:53the one that's going to get us over the top.
- 54:56I I don't know that Alar is the answer at the end of the day, he
- 55:02doesn't make good decisions with the ball in big spots.
- 55:07He showed that last year when he threw the interception, you
- 55:09know, going into that, that semi final game or in that semi final
- 55:12game. But you know, Franklins not not
- 55:15the answer. And, and it, it sucks because I,
- 55:18I go back to, you know, my second game was the thrashing 40
- 55:22to 7 home game against Nebraska that we beat, you know, the ever
- 55:26living crap out of Nebraska. That game.
- 55:28I, I, I've been, you know, I was in the end zone or sitting in
- 55:32the end zone that Mario Manning had beat us in 2005 before we
- 55:36went on to the Orange Bowl. And I was at the Orange Bowl
- 55:39that year and I watched Penn every single minute of every
- 55:43Penn State game since 2002, essentially.
- 55:47But it's heartbreaking every single year to think that you
- 55:51have a chance and then get completely slaughtered in the
- 55:56way that that we did this past weekend was, you know, Oregon
- 56:00was bad enough. This past weekend just put me
- 56:02over the edge. I it's just like it's such a let
- 56:06down and it's such a trap game when you have such a bad loss,
- 56:12you know, at home, double overtime against, you know,
- 56:15whoever wins that game is the number two seed overall and
- 56:18probably there won't fall out of the top five, you know,
- 56:22regardless going forwards. Then they lose and they have to
- 56:25make the West Coast trip, right. That's a big thing too.
- 56:29And then they got to go face an offensive coordinator who's
- 56:32never called a game before. So there's no tendencies on him.
- 56:36So that's not exactly easy if he's any good.
- 56:38And it turns out the kid was pretty damn good as an offensive
- 56:42coordinator. You know, I think they figured
- 56:44it out at halftime and they came back, But it's just a lot of
- 56:48things that go wrong that you just can't let happen if you're
- 56:52the caretaker of a really good program.
- 56:54I remember as a Giants fan, when Tom Coughlin started slipping,
- 56:58Tom Coughlin was the master. No, no, listen, Tom Coughlin was
- 57:02the master of clock management. The master of clock management
- 57:07never had problems with clock management and they didn't have
- 57:10penalties for delayed game. The Giants were the team that
- 57:13never had that issue and then his last year it happened all
- 57:17the time. That's.
- 57:18Because of your boyfriend, Odell Beckham?
- 57:20Are you kidding me? Are you gonna be quiet?
- 57:24Odell Beckham was there. What are you talking about?
- 57:26Odell Beckham was there. In his final year surgery.
- 57:28He was he was there. He was there in the beginning of
- 57:31the season. And that's when it all happened.
- 57:33Yeah. When he pissed on the freaking
- 57:35logo. And that was Tom Coughlin.
- 57:37Yes. OK, You remember that?
- 57:38I remember that, too. So don't tell me it wasn't
- 57:40there. I saw them do.
- 57:42Don't tell me I don't know anything about the Giants.
- 57:44Odell Beckham is the reason why Tom Costin lost his job.
- 57:47Are you going to sit here and tell me, how about the coaching
- 57:50staff at the end of the season with Ben McAdoo?
- 57:54You're going to tell me they could have given a defensive
- 57:56player? I'm not.
- 57:58They didn't give him defensive players.
- 58:00I'm not wrong. I'm not wrong.
- 58:01I'm not wrong. I'm not wrong.
- 58:04I'm not wrong. You're wrong.
- 58:08Jackson. What happened to Jackson Dart
- 58:11yesterday? What happened?
- 58:12What happened? That's right.
- 58:13I told you was going to happen. Told you it was going to happen.
- 58:16Told you what was going to happen.
- 58:18You don't listen. I don't care.
- 58:21My team sucks all the time. They stink.
- 58:25I could careless. I already said they were.
- 58:27Glad you got to bring me down with.
- 58:29Because I because you keep. Oh my God, I'm.
- 58:32Just making a point. I'm not talking about any of
- 58:34those guys. I'm saying.
- 58:36Paul, the Jackson talking Jackson talk was going to fall
- 58:39in the same hole as every Giant quarterback since Eli Manning.
- 58:43And that's all I'm going to say about that.
- 58:45And to sit here and bring up the Giants and you're going to bring
- 58:48up the Giants in comparison to Tom Coughlin, who the Giant
- 58:51screwed. Stop.
- 58:53I got any patience to listen maybe?
- 58:54I don't hear this. I got to hear this.
- 58:56I got to hear this. Not even.
- 58:58Done. He doesn't know what you're
- 58:59saying because you cut me off so rudely and inappropriately.
- 59:03How am I supposed to even get a thought out comparing people not
- 59:06having clock and it's not even. Comparison.
- 59:09It's not because you. Can't listen?
- 59:11You don't know how to listen. I'm listening.
- 59:13I think it's a terrible cut. Me off.
- 59:16You don't even hear the whole thing.
- 59:18I'm trying to tell you. Yeah, because Tom Coughlin was a
- 59:22great coach of certain things until he wasn't.
- 59:25And everybody is great until they're not.
- 59:28It happens to everyone, whether you're a player or a coach.
- 59:31Belichick certainly lost his fastball the last couple years
- 59:34in New England. Don't tell me he didn't.
- 59:37Tom Coughlin lost his fastball the year too.
- 59:39That last year too it maybe you could say part of it was due to
- 59:42Odell, but I'll tell you right now, they never had penalties
- 59:45the way they did because of clock management or making
- 59:48mistakes at the end of halves like they did until that last
- 59:52year because Kaufman was a master of it.
- 59:54James Franklin, on the other hand, the things that he's good
- 59:57at, used to be keeping a program together in situations like
- 1:00:01this, and now you see the cracks starting to go in the
- 1:00:04foundation. And I could see why Penn State
- 1:00:07guys may want to move on. So now I got to ask another
- 1:00:11rabid Penn State guy, our old intern Jake, who I know has lots
- 1:00:15of opinions on this. Yeah, so I just want to say,
- 1:00:19first of all, it's good to see you Arrow Fish, Speedy and
- 1:00:21Jabba. Good to see you guys again.
- 1:00:23Yeah, I have a lot of venom stored up, so this is a pretty
- 1:00:27rough three days for me. UFC 320 was great as kind of the
- 1:00:31only saving grace. The Phillies were shit tonight
- 1:00:35and Saturday. The Eagles unfortunately lost.
- 1:00:38And then, yeah, Penn State. I mean, look, you guys already
- 1:00:42cover. You cover a lot of it.
- 1:00:43I'll try to go quick in this, but like, look, Franklin's got
- 1:00:46to go. That's just the truth.
- 1:00:47Like, I understand. Are we saying he's a good coach?
- 1:00:50He is. But you cannot be 4 and 20 or
- 1:00:53the four and 21 against top 10 opponents and then one in 14
- 1:00:57against Michigan and Ohio State in the top ten.
- 1:00:59Like he's only beating Michigan or Ohio State one time.
- 1:01:02And the only way it was it was on a fluke bullshit like blocked
- 1:01:06kick, run back kick 6 when Penn State already had two losses and
- 1:01:10we were out of the playoff picture.
- 1:01:11We didn't have a chance. It was just an F you to Ohio
- 1:01:14State. That's all it was.
- 1:01:15And it was a great win. It was a good feel good win, but
- 1:01:17it didn't matter in the end. And look on to Drew Aller.
- 1:01:21I love Gerard, but big Gerard guy.
- 1:01:23But you are right Errol. He has definitely played himself
- 1:01:26out of the first round. I and look, they were calling
- 1:01:29him and hyping him up when we first got him.
- 1:01:31They were comparing him to Josh Allen, this big 6 foot 5
- 1:01:34quarterback. And I thought, hey, you know,
- 1:01:36after guys, a Christian Hackenberg who couldn't really
- 1:01:39put it all together, wasn't quite there.
- 1:01:40Trace Mcsorley, who was a pretty good player but didn't have the
- 1:01:43intangibles that pro NFL teams are looking for.
- 1:01:46And like Speedy said, Sean Clifford, the most definition of
- 1:01:48mid quarterback ever. I thought, hey, this is going to
- 1:01:52be our guy. This is the guy.
- 1:01:54And like you said, fish like changing coordinators.
- 1:01:58And I was really psyched when we got Andy Kotelnicki.
- 1:02:00I thought he was going to take Drew Aller and develop him and
- 1:02:03make him. And we were going to see it this
- 1:02:05year in that offensive explosion.
- 1:02:07You got Trevor Pena from Syracuse, Devonta Rossner, a
- 1:02:10transfer wide receiver. And it's just, it hasn't been
- 1:02:13there. And like, I hate to say it
- 1:02:15because I'm a big Aller guy, but they should have kept Bo
- 1:02:19Perabola. He's been great at Mizzou and
- 1:02:22our it's just it's not there. Like for some, for some reason,
- 1:02:25something's not clicking with him.
- 1:02:26Like he still will get drafted, but it just doesn't look right.
- 1:02:30And it's a shame to say that as a fan of his, it just doesn't
- 1:02:33look right. And then as well as Errol,
- 1:02:36you're saying they'll still make the we're done.
- 1:02:38Season's over, like let's just say, OK, maybe they'll beat
- 1:02:41Northwestern. I don't even have confidence in
- 1:02:43that this week that will beat Northwestern if you lose to Owen
- 1:02:46for UCLA, but I don't think they're going to beat Iowa.
- 1:02:49They're definitely not going to beat Ohio State.
- 1:02:50They're probably not going to be Indiana.
- 1:02:52So that's three losses right there.
- 1:02:54You can't lose more than one game.
- 1:02:56And then I there's already two games for sure they're going to
- 1:02:58lose like they are beating Ohio State and Iowa.
- 1:03:00And like, look, with Franklin, look, I I get he's a good coach.
- 1:03:05I just think that look after that last week, like look, I I
- 1:03:09think you were right. The Oregon game was not his
- 1:03:11fault. I think it was more an hour and
- 1:03:13Kotel Nikki as a whole, they just did couldn't get things
- 1:03:16going until really late and then he can't Drew Roller can't throw
- 1:03:18that interception or double overtime.
- 1:03:20That was rough. But you as the head coach then
- 1:03:23look, it was a rough loss. You're emotional.
- 1:03:25It's sad. You have to then get the troops
- 1:03:27ready to play a game like this against UCLA.
- 1:03:29You cannot keep reeling and then suffer a horrible loss like
- 1:03:33this. That is poor leadership, poor
- 1:03:36execution just to get embarrassed like that against
- 1:03:40UCLA, literally. And the only player I can name
- 1:03:42on there to Niko Yamiyawa, who left Tennessee.
- 1:03:45And people have been saying it's been looking like a bad look for
- 1:03:47him. He looked like his Tennessee for
- 1:03:49him again against Penn State. Supposed to elite defense with
- 1:03:51Jim Knowles, who you stole from Ohio State to play against Ohio
- 1:03:55State. And now you're not even at that
- 1:03:58game yet. And the season's pretty much
- 1:03:59already over. So like, look, Franklin, I
- 1:04:02respect him. He's a he's a good, he's a good
- 1:04:05program builder. He's a fantastic recruiter, but
- 1:04:07he's just such a mediocre coach, especially in game decisions.
- 1:04:11He cannot get it done. We as a Penn State fan, if
- 1:04:14you're your supporter, Franklin, I don't really know what more
- 1:04:17you need to see other than the fact to show you that he's not
- 1:04:19the guy. And like, I understand you have
- 1:04:21to have a guy like you have to say who you going to have
- 1:04:24replace him. But like the experiment's done,
- 1:04:27it's over. He needs to be gone.
- 1:04:29I'm just so sick of James Franklin.
- 1:04:31I respect him as a guy. I think his players love him.
- 1:04:35I just don't think they respect him anymore.
- 1:04:36I think his messages are bland. And the thing that I've always
- 1:04:40felt about him in my heart of hearts is that James Franklin is
- 1:04:44Mike Tomlin without rings. He is Mike Tomlin post 2015.
- 1:04:49That is all he is. If you watch the Pittsburgh
- 1:04:51Steelers every single year post 2015, they've had solid teams
- 1:04:56around 9:00 and 8:00, maybe 10 and 10 and seven, whatever, make
- 1:05:00the playoffs, lose in the first round, one and done.
- 1:05:02And that's what James Franklin is.
- 1:05:03And sure, they made the dance last year, they beat Boise
- 1:05:07State, they beat SMU. But you come up against a big
- 1:05:10team in Notre Dame and you'll lose the game.
- 1:05:12And even if they won that game, we weren't going to beat Ohio
- 1:05:15State. That's just the truth.
- 1:05:16So I'm I'm done with the season, I'm not Pat Kraft.
- 1:05:20If it was up to me, he wouldn't even been alone home on the
- 1:05:22plane ride home, he would have been fired on the spot.
- 1:05:24But look fine let him finish the season.
- 1:05:27But he needs to be done. I'll pay for his buy.
- 1:05:29I'll I'm an alumni now. I'll I'll get a like a 56
- 1:05:34million. Playing somewhere he needs.
- 1:05:36To go. You got 56 million in the couch
- 1:05:39cushions. Armando, you, you mentioned
- 1:05:42that, he mentioned that very similar to Pittsburgh, also your
- 1:05:46favorite professional team. How do you feel about that
- 1:05:48comparison? It resonates so bad, so much, so
- 1:05:52much. It resonates so much because I
- 1:05:54you said it and it hurt. And it's true.
- 1:05:57They always have a decent defense that gets us to the
- 1:06:00first round of the playoffs and then we lose.
- 1:06:02It's not been easy, you know, being a Penn State or a Steelers
- 1:06:05or a Dolphins fan for that matter, you know, for the last
- 1:06:09couple years. Yeah, Armando, I'm sorry, I
- 1:06:11should have said they are this. They are the post 2015 Steelers
- 1:06:14on paper, but they in terms of hype, they are the Dallas
- 1:06:17Cowboys. That is what Penn State is every
- 1:06:21single year. And you know what?
- 1:06:22I. Drank.
- 1:06:24I drank the freaking kool-aid this year because I, I believe
- 1:06:26that, you know, Ohio State just won.
- 1:06:28They lost a bunch of their players to the draft, Dylan
- 1:06:30Gabriel in Oregon, they're weakened.
- 1:06:32Michigan's not quite there yet. We're ranked number 2 is the
- 1:06:34most fake bullshit #2 ranking ever.
- 1:06:38NFL offensive line. Yeah.
- 1:06:41Good running backs, new transfer receivers, still a decent
- 1:06:45defense. I hear you, man.
- 1:06:46It's, it's been, it's been awful.
- 1:06:48Bring back Bill O'Brien. Honestly, yeah.
- 1:06:52Yeah. And you mentioned too.
- 1:06:53I mean, I, I, I'm so happy that Tyler Warren got drafted.
- 1:06:56I still don't understand what the Bears were thinking.
- 1:06:58I wanted him to go to Chicago because I have some family in
- 1:07:01Chicago who are Bears fans. I don't know what they were
- 1:07:03thinking with Colston Loving because you can see so how much
- 1:07:05Tyler Warren met to Penn State if you watched this last year
- 1:07:07and how great he is with Indianapolis like. 100.
- 1:07:11Percent. You know, boys, I I appreciate
- 1:07:14you guys coming on before I let you go.
- 1:07:16Errol, how disgusted are you at these takes?
- 1:07:20I listen, I have a lot of respect for both of you.
- 1:07:22Obviously, I this is the first time I met your brother-in-law.
- 1:07:25So it's very nice to meet you, Jake.
- 1:07:29You know I love you, man. And, and I, I like I had to cut
- 1:07:32you off because I disagree with you on the Tom Coughlin take as
- 1:07:36far as the Mike Tomlin take, and I understand what you guys are
- 1:07:39saying. Mike Tomlin won a frigging Super
- 1:07:42Bowl. OK, could you guys stop?
- 1:07:45He won a Super Bowl and he was consistent winning his coach in
- 1:07:49NFL history in the last 12 seasons.
- 1:07:53That's fine. It doesn't really matter.
- 1:07:58The fact is, is he won a Super Bowl.
- 1:08:00The guy's been consistent. He hasn't won.
- 1:08:03Well, guess what? Let's go back and look at his
- 1:08:05quarterback, OK? He's not the GM.
- 1:08:07He's not picking the quarterbacks.
- 1:08:09They picked the quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers to Russell Wilson
- 1:08:13to Justin Fields, who they completely thrown away.
- 1:08:16To sit here and say that Mike Tomlin is Franklin, that's
- 1:08:19ridiculous. And by the way, you want to buy
- 1:08:21out his contract? How many people were trying to
- 1:08:23buy out Billy Napier's contract last year?
- 1:08:26The alumni tried to buy out his contract, and he still has a
- 1:08:29job. Please, guys, I know you Penn
- 1:08:32State fans are going to sit here.
- 1:08:33Listen, you guys think I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:08:36That's fine. I do watch college, maybe not as
- 1:08:38much as you guys, but I know what I'm talking about.
- 1:08:40And for you guys to come out and say that this guy isn't a
- 1:08:44winner, he's Mike Tomlin, he's this, he's that.
- 1:08:47You don't throw away something good no matter what.
- 1:08:50The guy knows how to recruit and eventually he will get it right.
- 1:08:54Now, Adler wasn't the guy and I never thought he was.
- 1:08:58And for you guys to think now you go with Mizzou, you're
- 1:09:01talking about the Mizzou quarterback.
- 1:09:02They should have kept them. I agree with you, Jake.
- 1:09:04That's probably the only thing I agree with on any of your takes
- 1:09:07that you make. OK.
- 1:09:08The fact here is Penn State right now was ranked #2 in the
- 1:09:12country to say it was fall. It's this and that.
- 1:09:15Going into the season, they had the most talented offensive line
- 1:09:18in the country and they had two of the most dedicated, decorated
- 1:09:22running backs coming out of the college college offseason.
- 1:09:26Everybody thought they were going to be a run and just
- 1:09:29dominate at the off the offensive line.
- 1:09:31It just hasn't happened that way.
- 1:09:33Maybe it's the coaching staff, maybe it's this, maybe it's
- 1:09:35that. You want to blame somebody, you
- 1:09:36want to blame the coach, blame the coach.
- 1:09:38But you can't tell me that this Adler guy is anything special
- 1:09:42from a big, tall, goofy guy that tries to run outside a pocket
- 1:09:45and throw on the run, which by the way, he's absolutely
- 1:09:48horrible doing. So to me, the comparison to any
- 1:09:51of these guys that say what you're saying, he's not Mike
- 1:09:53Tomlin. And I think Penn State is a lot
- 1:09:56better than you guys think he is that think they are.
- 1:09:59They have a good recruiting class coming in next year.
- 1:10:01You can shake your head all you want.
- 1:10:02They do. They're ranked in the top five
- 1:10:04in recruiting classes next year. There, but it's not going to
- 1:10:06change. Franklin's choking.
- 1:10:08That's that's he brings in. We don't win the games.
- 1:10:12Let me ask you a question. Talent.
- 1:10:14We've had talent on talent on talent.
- 1:10:16They don't win when it matters. Like I don't know how much more
- 1:10:20proof or how much more time he needs.
- 1:10:21Like he's had plenty of opportunities.
- 1:10:24He went, he brought in at First of all, they made a mistake with
- 1:10:28the quarterback. I didn't think he was the right
- 1:10:30fit to the way they wanted to run their offense.
- 1:10:32They're a running team. They should have kept the Mizzou
- 1:10:35quarterback. I watched him last year, he was
- 1:10:37good. They went, they went wrong on
- 1:10:39that. If they kept him, they're
- 1:10:41they're probably going for a national championship this year.
- 1:10:44They screwed up with the quarterback.
- 1:10:46They they screwed up with the quarterback.
- 1:10:48You want to blame coach, blame the coach.
- 1:10:50It's not always the coach, it's the players around them.
- 1:10:53And and unfortunately their quarterback is so overrated.
- 1:10:56You want to know? You don't want to know.
- 1:10:57My opinion as their quarterback is not really any good.
- 1:11:01He's not an NFL quarterback in my eyes.
- 1:11:03And everybody thought he was a first round talent.
- 1:11:05By the way, Josh Silverberg, if you're listening to us right
- 1:11:07now, this is the same guy that you thought was a first round
- 1:11:11talent. He's horrible.
- 1:11:14He's not good. He's an oversized doof.
- 1:11:17But I think he will get drafted and he's a Cleveland kid, so
- 1:11:20he'll probably just get drafted the Browns and be another.
- 1:11:22Part He'll get to replace the door.
- 1:11:28Yeah. Christian Hackenberg's locker.
- 1:11:37Old locker ready? For my prediction, by the way,
- 1:11:39boys, you want to hear this, I'm sorry to cut you off.
- 1:11:42Should Door Sanders next year in the offseason will be traded to
- 1:11:45Jacksonville? Book it.
- 1:11:47Book it. I said that he's going to be
- 1:11:49traded to Jacksonville. Take that.
- 1:11:51Remember I said that? Apparently remember I said that
- 1:11:54the gremlin an unbelievable play tonight.
- 1:11:56I haven't seen it yet. Stop it, guys.
- 1:11:58I'm just telling you that's what I saw.
- 1:12:00Guys. Thank you so much for joining us
- 1:12:02tonight with this Penn State little seance that we're having.
- 1:12:06Thought it was a real good show. Special thanks to Thomas
- 1:12:09Caranante, fan sided content director, Co host of the Yanks
- 1:12:13Go Yard podcast. Follow him at X at Tommy's under
- 1:12:17score takes and find his channel on YouTube.
- 1:12:21He was fantastic. Really good stuff on the Yankees
- 1:12:24earlier tonight. We had a lot of fun.
- 1:12:26Thanks. Special thanks to Jake and
- 1:12:28Armando Horda coming on talking about their beloved Penn State
- 1:12:31Nittany Lions and the struggles they're dealing with over here.
- 1:12:35And a real special thanks to our intern Jared, who did all the
- 1:12:39work backstage as a producer for the first time while I'm here in
- 1:12:42the in the host chair. That's a great job by you,
- 1:12:45Jared. Thank you for all the work that
- 1:12:46you put in tonight. Was Jared was rocking a jersey
- 1:12:49too? What jersey was he rocking?
- 1:12:50Yeah, Jared, come on into the the screen.
- 1:12:52You deserve to be in here for a little bit at the end of the
- 1:12:55show. You got some kind of Basketball
- 1:12:57Jersey going where we got you. I'll, I'll do it Speedy.
- 1:13:03Here, I'll bounce out no. No, you're fine.
- 1:13:05It's just me and Speedy are having a war of who's going to
- 1:13:07add us at Jarrett right now with our clicker fingers.
- 1:13:10Jarrett, I think you might be frozen.
- 1:13:13So we're not going to see it right now, unfortunately.
- 1:13:16But Jarrett's done a great job for us.
- 1:13:19Errol will be back. We're not having the show on
