- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Do you want to remind you that we got another hot one today?
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Not as hot as yesterday, but I think it's all relative when you're sitting here talking about, well, we're gonna get to uh you know 92, but it won't be a hundred.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: It's ninety-two! It's gonna you're gonna feel it.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: For people who work outside, God bless.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: God bless.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: I don't even think because you know we were mentioning earlier in the show that uh you you you can't drive anywhere in Elmira right now.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Every single road is having something done to it, which is great.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: That's not a complaint.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: That's just be prepared for the fact they're redirecting you because they're they're repaving and doing that.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: But I don't think they put the uh the folks out in this sort of heat to do that.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I think they're like, we need to delay a little bit.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Don't they do it overnight or they'll do like a real early shift?
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Do you think we're a big city?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: They used to do that on 86.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: 86 is a major interstate, that's a a state highway, whereas, you know, we're not in downtown.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: So I went through downtown yesterday and I didn't have any issues yesterday.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: But, you know, last week we had the street painting festival, streets were closed.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: This week we have Gus Macker.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: So you're right, there is going to be delays wherever you go, whether it's traffic or whether it's events.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: That because even last week I was trying to get to, I had a live broadcast at Holy Smokes, and Scott and I were exchanging vehicles, and I'm like, oh, wait a second, how am I gonna get there?
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I know I had to give you the redirect.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, because I I like for a I don't live in Elmyra.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: So for a second, I was like, wait a second, wait, whoa, whoa, what am I doing?
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: What am I doing?
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: It makes sense.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Well, even even I do live in Elmyra, and I sit there and I'm like, oh, okay, well, you're gonna have to take the Madison Bridge, first light, Mega Left.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Remember this?
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: I'm like I ended up going walnut.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, that works.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I went walnut and then yeah, the back way, and it it worked, but it was oh crap, gotta leave yourself some extra time.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: You're gonna need it.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly, exactly.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Do you think this is true?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I read, and I I don't think this is true.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Families with four kids are the happiest.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Um, there's only one way that that's uh that that that's possible.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Well, there's two things.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I bet you get a hell of a tax return for being able to claim four kids with the IRS.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Uh so I mean that but that'll that's only a once-a-year boost, you know.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, we'll see at Sam's Club right after that check hits and it's gone in four hours.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I think the only way that works is if one of the kids is old enough that can assume a role of doing a lot of the things that both parents would normally have to split to do.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Well, that's not fair.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Well, I but that's the way a lot of this works.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So if you have a 16-plus son or daughter and you have a six-year-old son or daughter, who's the bottom, you can sort of lean in and they have and sometimes, in some cases, the older kids really don't mind.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Like they just sort of pick up and do it and be like, that's my little bro or my little sister.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: That is about the only way I could see for a family of four being happier.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: And yet that's what they're saying.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: You have to have four kids to be at your max happiness.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, let me let me break this down a little bit more.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: And I've talked about this before.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: I long, long time ago, I dated somebody with three kids.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: And when there was one kid in the house, quiet.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Two kids, a rumble here or there.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Three kids was World War III because two are against one always at some point.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: So is it four because it's balanced, balanced fighting, and there's enough for everyone to be entertained by each other?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: I don't really think so.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And here's why.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: I think there, I think there's somebody who gets lost in the mix when it comes to this.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: By the way, I can see that happening.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: You you can you can refute this all day long on our text messages because if you're one of four and you think your family's happy, I do want to hear why why it's so great.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I'm curious.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Was there an older sibling or were you the older sibling and you took on a lot of responsibilities, alleviating for your parents?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Because think about this.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Most of these results probably came from parents.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: So they're probably going, well, yeah, you know, the 16-year-old picks up a lot of the slack.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Well, and if you're an only child, you got nobody to play with.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: So that I don't think is optimal happiness.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Plus, I think there's a lot of no I was pretty happy as a kid.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have two brothers.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I know, but they moved out because they're older than I was, so I lived like an only child.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, well then I won't say I won't say the second comment that I've got to do.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Go ahead and say it.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: I know it.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: The entitledness.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, there was a touch of that.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And then if you there's two.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Also, I was the youngest and adopted son.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Oh man, you're totally the Disney kid.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: You're damn right.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: So then if there's two, two can be great.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: I was I was one of two, but sometimes the two don't like each other.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I've heard your stories.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: I can't believe you actually communicate with your brother anymore.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I said, I I just said to Zach yesterday, I said, I'll always love my brother.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I don't like him, but I all I'll always love him.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Because you have to.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Then there's three then there's three, which goes to what I was just saying the other day, how there's two against one.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: So now I'm kind of breaking it down.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Four might be the sweet spots.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: I told you my reason.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: But aren't you always struggling financially?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Struggling financially and time.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, do you not want for nothing?
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: You get to a certain point.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: You get to a certain point, you have to transport different kids, different one's gonna play baseball, one's gonna do cheer, one's gonna play soccer, one's on the swimming thing.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: God, you need that 16 year old to get a license quick.
