Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Some of the news this week is going to be
- 0:07Speaker 1: talking about social media platforms and TikTok is at front
- 0:10Speaker 1: and center. How does crypto play into this. We'll reveal
- 0:13Speaker 1: all of that for you guys today. My name is
- 0:14Speaker 1: Paul Barrel. Welcome back into tech Path. I want to
- 0:16Speaker 1: get into it today because the key here is going
- 0:19Speaker 1: to be centered around how Polka Dot could be a
- 0:22Speaker 1: big contributor to the future of TikTok and I'll explain
- 0:25Speaker 1: all that, make sure and we'll break it all down
- 0:28Speaker 1: for you. But I want to thank our sponsor, and
- 0:29Speaker 1: that is Tangum. If you guys are looking to get
- 0:31Speaker 1: into self custody, this is the one way to do it.
- 0:33Speaker 1: They use a card system that works in tandem with
- 0:37Speaker 1: an app on your phone. Very easy to set up.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And the cool thing is is use our link down below.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You actually get double the amount of off on the
- 0:46Speaker 1: Tangent purchases. Just use the code PBN. We'll leave a
- 0:49Speaker 1: link down below and you'll get twenty percent off. And
- 0:52Speaker 1: do it now because I know the sale is about
- 0:54Speaker 1: ready to go off, so check it and be able
- 0:56Speaker 1: to kind of ramp up on it. Very easy, as
- 0:58Speaker 1: I said, to get started on it all right, Let's
- 1:00Speaker 1: go over to a couple of points I want to
- 1:02Speaker 1: get at, and one of course is a real live
- 1:06Speaker 1: TikTok ban counter, and that is forty days away. Yes,
- 1:09Speaker 1: that is right, forty days away. That is the date
- 1:12Speaker 1: in which either the app will be removed from the
- 1:15Speaker 1: store or some sort of action from the US government.
- 1:19Speaker 1: This is going to be interesting to see how they
- 1:21Speaker 1: play it, because remember by Dance is now going to
- 1:24Speaker 1: be forced to sell. And I want to go to
- 1:26Speaker 1: this first clip because this is going to be what
- 1:28Speaker 1: will happen on the nineteenth of January, which is the
- 1:31Speaker 1: day before Trump takes office.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Take a look, so calm January. TikTok will not disappear
- 1:37Speaker 2: off your phone if you have it already is enforced
- 1:39Speaker 2: against the App store, so companies like Google and Apple
- 1:43Speaker 2: will face potentially billion dollar fine if they don't take
- 1:46Speaker 2: TikTok off its platform. New users won't be able to
- 1:50Speaker 2: download the app, and eventually it won't be able to update,
- 1:53Speaker 2: which we'll kind of doom the app to a slow
- 1:56Speaker 2: dev Today we caught up with billionaire Frank McCourt. He
- 1:59Speaker 2: confirms he's been assembling and now he has assembled a
- 2:02Speaker 2: group that wants to move forward with people's bid to
- 2:04Speaker 2: buy TikTok.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Now, Frank mccurt, we've shown this before. These are the
- 2:09Speaker 1: potential bidders for the for TikTok and this is coming
- 2:13Speaker 1: from Byedance. So right now you have Frank McCourt and
- 2:16Speaker 1: potentially Kevin O'Leary and even Steve Minuchin who has an
- 2:19Speaker 1: investment firm. But most likely this is going to fall
- 2:22Speaker 1: into maybe just a handful of winners. The one to
- 2:25Speaker 1: keep an eye on is Frank mccurt, but also Kevin
- 2:28Speaker 1: O'Leary because he has such a relationship to e commerce
- 2:32Speaker 1: and that is really what this is all about. I
- 2:34Speaker 1: also want to go to another clip here, and this
- 2:36Speaker 1: clip is going to get into exactly what is happening
- 2:39Speaker 1: and why Frank mccurt is involved. Take a look.
- 2:42Speaker 3: If it sold, it will be sold without an algorithm,
- 2:45Speaker 3: so the value will be far, far less than two
- 2:48Speaker 3: hundred million dollars. We have circled over twenty billion dollars
- 2:51Speaker 3: to be in a position and we're very serious about
- 2:54Speaker 3: raising whatever capital is required to buy the platform. We're
- 2:58Speaker 3: looking to move the one hundred and seventy users over
- 3:01Speaker 3: to a new protocol where the individuals will own and
- 3:04Speaker 3: control their identity and their data.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Do you have an indication from President elect Trump that
- 3:09Speaker 4: he wants to see an American entity by this?
- 3:15Speaker 3: He has said he doesn't want it banned, which means
- 3:18Speaker 3: a sale. We have built a clean, bottom up American stack.
- 3:23Speaker 4: You're indicating you've built out some technology you think that
- 3:26Speaker 4: will not allow for government surveillance. Correct, but can you
- 3:30Speaker 4: If you are whoever owns this.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Is going to be powerful.
- 3:33Speaker 4: So what guarantees do you make.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I'm not looking to be the CEO of TikTok. We
- 3:38Speaker 3: call it the People's bid because we want this to
- 3:41Speaker 3: empower people. Let us each decide what moderation we're comfortable with,
- 3:46Speaker 3: what censorship, we're comfortable with what privacy are Okay, So
- 3:49Speaker 3: I'm a builder. My family's been building for five generations.
- 3:52Speaker 3: This is an engineering problem that can be fixed. Let's
- 3:56Speaker 3: make it a win, a win win, all right.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So just to be clear, what is the talking about
- 4:00Speaker 1: the American stack. He's actually talking about Polka dot. Polka
- 4:03Speaker 1: dot is the migration path for being able to run
- 4:07Speaker 1: the transactions on an open network with digital ID connectivity.
- 4:12Speaker 1: All that is really playing into the idea around personalization
- 4:17Speaker 1: of your data, and the one thing that everybody is
- 4:18Speaker 1: concerned about is data. In fact, Vivic Ramaswami, he was
- 4:22Speaker 1: the one that was most concerned about the Chinese having
- 4:26Speaker 1: access to data. It's in fact why the court case
- 4:29Speaker 1: came to reality. And of course the ban now is
- 4:32Speaker 1: now in motion. And that is that the American data,
- 4:36Speaker 1: yours mind, isn't falling into hands outside of the United
- 4:39Speaker 1: States that are bad actors. Now I'm not saying that
- 4:41Speaker 1: is the case, but the point is is that this
- 4:42Speaker 1: will this will definitely move in the right direction. There's
- 4:45Speaker 1: another clip I want to get to, which is what
- 4:48Speaker 1: Trump can legally do when he takes office on the twentieth,
- 4:51Speaker 1: because if he said he's not interested in banning it,
- 4:54Speaker 1: how would that be done.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Take a look in terms.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Of President elect Trump, this is really interesting. So first
- 4:59Speaker 6: of all, just in general, well, he has ninety days
- 5:01Speaker 6: to essentially allow an extension on that divestiture. We also, though,
- 5:05Speaker 6: could see because the President elect did stay in the
- 5:07Speaker 6: last days of his campaign, he will save TikTok that
- 5:10Speaker 6: he just kind of makes this go away altogether.
- 5:12Speaker 1: In some ways. One of the ways that this could
- 5:14Speaker 1: work with President Trump is to kind of get this
- 5:17Speaker 1: out of the media is to get it into a sale.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And if he does this through an executive order, that
- 5:24Speaker 1: most likely would still be a scenario where he saved TikTok,
- 5:27Speaker 1: so that I think is still going to be in
- 5:29Speaker 1: a line with what his message has been now. Kevin
- 5:31Speaker 1: O'Leary also is looking at this as well. Here's a
- 5:35Speaker 1: clip from him talking about byteedance and whether or not
- 5:38Speaker 1: they can do it.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Take a look.
- 5:39Speaker 7: I think I have a sixty percent chance, I really do.
- 5:43Speaker 7: I think I can pull this off. Sixty percent probability
- 5:46Speaker 7: more than fifty to fifty. This is attempt number four.
- 5:49Speaker 7: And remember the regulator will never let Google buy it,
- 5:52Speaker 7: never let Meta by it. And I don't think Microsoft
- 5:55Speaker 7: wants to buy it because they've already been warned off
- 5:57Speaker 7: by the Chinese government.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Should you Chu also say that he's all going to
- 6:01Speaker 5: go down without.
- 6:01Speaker 7: A fight, That's great, Who cares. I don't think it's
- 6:04Speaker 7: his decision whatsoever.
- 6:06Speaker 8: It doesn't matter.
- 6:08Speaker 7: If we don't get a buy on this deal, their
- 6:10Speaker 7: equity in that deal is going to zero. It doesn't matter.
- 6:13Speaker 7: What the current management says, doesn't matter. It's what the
- 6:17Speaker 7: White House wants to do. And I don't think the
- 6:19Speaker 7: American public trusts the platform at all. Do you think
- 6:23Speaker 7: the Chinese government would ever allow an American app like
- 6:26Speaker 7: TikTok in China.
- 6:28Speaker 9: Never.
- 6:29Speaker 7: The Chinese government respects the stick. They want the stick.
- 6:33Speaker 7: They're going to get the stick, all right.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I want to go to another clip, and this will
- 6:37Speaker 1: go into McCourt talking about why the other bidders may
- 6:40Speaker 1: not have a chance at this.
- 6:42Speaker 10: Take a look President Alec Trump gets inaugurate the twentieth.
- 6:46Speaker 10: Have you talked to anyone in his sphere of influence
- 6:48Speaker 10: about how he might leave?
- 6:50Speaker 3: We're beginning those conversations. We're reaching out now where we're
- 6:54Speaker 3: rapidly facing a deadline. There's a deal to be made
- 6:58Speaker 3: here and President Trump is that ultimately.
- 7:00Speaker 10: I mean, there's been rumors there's there's big names here
- 7:03Speaker 10: also competing against one Activision Blizzard form of CEO Robbi Kotick,
- 7:07Speaker 10: form A Treasury Secretary Steve Manushan. Are those folks still
- 7:10Speaker 10: in the bit in the process? Are they involved? Like
- 7:13Speaker 10: what does that landscape of bids look like?
- 7:15Speaker 3: I Mean, the word we're getting is that they've backed
- 7:17Speaker 3: off a bit on this, and I think the reason.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Is you do seem the most aggressive. Yeah, and I
- 7:22Speaker 5: think the.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Reason why Brian is number one, can't be a candidate
- 7:26Speaker 3: for anti trust action. Number two, you need to pass
- 7:28Speaker 3: a scifious vetting. We pass ascivious acifious vetting. Next, you
- 7:33Speaker 3: have to have technology that will function without the algorithm.
- 7:35Speaker 3: And lastly, you need a clean stack.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Well, you mentioned American made, what what does that look like.
- 7:43Speaker 3: It will surveil people, it will scrape their data, and
- 7:45Speaker 3: it will apply algorithms top down. That's not what we're doing.
- 7:49Speaker 3: And by the way, I think anyone that does that
- 7:52Speaker 3: will run the risk of China having a backdoor into
- 7:54Speaker 3: their app. So you may not even solve the problem
- 7:58Speaker 3: of China still having access to American's data. The last
- 8:02Speaker 3: point I would make, there's lots of lawsuits for good reason.
- 8:05Speaker 5: There's more coming for good reason.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Anybody that buys TikTok is taking on that litigation, that
- 8:13Speaker 3: exposure of one hundred and seventy million user base. I
- 8:16Speaker 3: wanted to know what they would think of our bid.
- 8:20Speaker 3: They create some content, it goes viral. They create another
- 8:23Speaker 3: piece of content, Nobody watches it and they don't know why.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Because it's a black box. It's called shadow banning. That's
- 8:29Speaker 3: frustrating to them. The second thing is they have no
- 8:33Speaker 3: direct relationship with their community. They don't know who their
- 8:37Speaker 3: community is, so they can't interface with it. Intention advertising,
- 8:41Speaker 3: where you are a real person indicating your interest in something,
- 8:45Speaker 3: is far far more valuable to companies and advertisers than
- 8:49Speaker 3: just flooding a zone and hoping to capture somebody's interest
- 8:52Speaker 3: in slippers.
- 8:53Speaker 5: We get paid for our data. I'd like to get
- 8:55Speaker 5: paid for my data. Yeah, me too.
- 8:57Speaker 1: What has been very successful within the TikTok ecosystem is
- 9:01Speaker 1: live shopping. That's why it's so valuable. To his point
- 9:04Speaker 1: that he's getting to is that there's so many hoops
- 9:07Speaker 1: that you have to jump through. It's quite possibly the
- 9:10Speaker 1: only potential bid out there that could go in the
- 9:12Speaker 1: direction of a win. And I think the big one
- 9:15Speaker 1: is going to be the technology tool, which again goes
- 9:17Speaker 1: back to Polka Dot Pokadot still being the potential here.
- 9:20Speaker 1: If you look at Project Liberty Summit, and if you
- 9:23Speaker 1: scan down to the just to the speakers, I mean,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you've got klobashar on there, You've got gosh Mark Schuman
- 9:30Speaker 1: from Mozilla, the CFTC guys in there. I mean, it's
- 9:34Speaker 1: a fairly significant group of people that are aligned with
- 9:38Speaker 1: what McCord is talking about, which is kind of just
- 9:40Speaker 1: this new evolution of data privacy and ownership of your
- 9:44Speaker 1: social stack, which is one of the things that blockchain
- 9:47Speaker 1: is going to enable everybody to do. So I want
- 9:50Speaker 1: to take you into another route here, and this is
- 9:52Speaker 1: Project Liberty and a Frequency, which is a Polka dot chain.
- 9:56Speaker 1: And if you look at we are a which is
- 9:57Speaker 1: one of their apps, this will get into a little
- 9:59Speaker 1: bit more detail of what it does.
- 10:01Speaker 8: Take a look we are eight.
- 10:03Speaker 11: The People's platform. We Are eight now offers three primary feeds,
- 10:12Speaker 11: all in the one place. The eighth stage your go
- 10:15Speaker 11: to spot for daily entertainment, the following feed a space
- 10:19Speaker 11: for updates from your friends and those you follow, and flows.
- 10:23Speaker 12: Join us on the People's Internet and log in with
- 10:25Speaker 12: Liberty use their universal handle to rouse content. Now let's
- 10:30Speaker 12: use our universal handle in another app. Using log in
- 10:34Speaker 12: with Liberty, your consonant friends will follow you on any
- 10:37Speaker 12: platform using Frequency with a username that cannot be copied
- 10:41Speaker 12: or repurposed. The People's Internet is here.
- 10:44Speaker 1: This is Frequency being able to migrate to a blockchain
- 10:49Speaker 1: or a federated media, so to speak. And this appears
- 10:52Speaker 1: to be the path to migrating this into something like
- 10:57Speaker 1: TikTok and TikTok of course being one of the biggest
- 10:59Speaker 1: ones out there. And the reason is this, there's going
- 11:02Speaker 1: to be a ton of money that could funnel in
- 11:05Speaker 1: to not only handle rewards, but also to pay creators.
- 11:09Speaker 13: Take a look, and the same for all the publishers.
- 11:12Speaker 13: We've got over one hundred publishers on board who have
- 11:15Speaker 13: partnered with us, and people can use their subscriptions from
- 11:19Speaker 13: their eight wallet to pay for their subscriptions. So it's
- 11:23Speaker 13: all about pumping money back to people and publishers. These
- 11:28Speaker 13: are the companies that are paying Meta two hundred billion
- 11:32Speaker 13: dollars a year. Now we need to wake them up
- 11:36Speaker 13: so that they shift that money back into the hands
- 11:39Speaker 13: of the people.
- 11:40Speaker 1: All right, So, if publishers are involved in this and
- 11:43Speaker 1: they do get into a position where they start funding
- 11:47Speaker 1: not only their own content, but also content of others
- 11:51Speaker 1: being able to access their audience, especially if we go
- 11:53Speaker 1: into a blockchain based audience, then it's going to start
- 11:56Speaker 1: generating a large amount of transactions. Transactions being every post,
- 12:00Speaker 1: every interaction, every like, all those kind of things will
- 12:03Speaker 1: be living on Polka Dot. If you just take a
- 12:05Speaker 1: look at the number of transactions right now on frequency,
- 12:08Speaker 1: which is the blockchain, I'm going to put it right
- 12:10Speaker 1: there at the third one. That's that kind of that
- 12:12Speaker 1: bigger orange section. The point is is that these have
- 12:16Speaker 1: been climbing and climbing. This is going to absolutely explode
- 12:21Speaker 1: and flatten the number of tranch actions from everybody else.
- 12:23Speaker 1: If this is migrated over to TikTok, I want to
- 12:26Speaker 1: go to another clip here. This will get into the
- 12:29Speaker 1: rewards timeline and how this might work for brands to
- 12:33Speaker 1: pay users.
- 12:34Speaker 14: Take a look, but that's not all of it.
- 12:38Speaker 9: On every purchase, you will be able to get up
- 12:41Speaker 9: to twenty percent cash back in Dot funded by the
- 12:45Speaker 9: brands you shop at this app. We're looking at launching
- 12:48Speaker 9: this app in Q three this year.
- 12:50Speaker 15: And we might have been a little bit optimistic on
- 12:54Speaker 15: the release timeline coming soon. If you want to actually
- 12:56Speaker 15: talk to me, I'll tell you the timeline I have
- 12:59Speaker 15: in my head. I don't want to say it because
- 13:00Speaker 15: then I'll just get DMed if we missed that deadline again.
- 13:04Speaker 1: All right, so you think about that, the amount of
- 13:05Speaker 1: rewards coming back to users, users being able to migrate
- 13:09Speaker 1: into a variety of scenarios that protect their data, give
- 13:13Speaker 1: them a new platform to go forward, and especially when
- 13:16Speaker 1: you look at live shopping, I still think that, you know,
- 13:19Speaker 1: brands like Amazon are going to really have to run
- 13:21Speaker 1: fast to be able to keep up with what's going
- 13:23Speaker 1: to migrate into a new e commerce system out there.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I want to go further into this because this is
- 13:28Speaker 1: where it gets interesting, because you still have point of
- 13:30Speaker 1: sale that's when you go to a physical outlet, and
- 13:34Speaker 1: you also have the potential for gift cards that could
- 13:36Speaker 1: play into this as well. Take a look.
- 13:38Speaker 14: Everybody's a way off gift cards, right, like the physical
- 13:40Speaker 14: gift cards that digital gift cards be it from like Amazon,
- 13:43Speaker 14: Starbucks and so forth. Quite eye opening if you just
- 13:46Speaker 14: realize the size of it and the growth rates over
- 13:49Speaker 14: the last whatever ten years.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:52Speaker 16: It's at of trillion dollars this year, right, and we're
- 13:54Speaker 16: going to get to about two and a half trillion
- 13:55Speaker 16: in the next five or six years. Globally. We have
- 13:58Speaker 16: a couple thousand brand partner in the US that we
- 14:01Speaker 16: work directly with. We're tied in directly into their point
- 14:03Speaker 16: of sales systems where we can issue cards on demand
- 14:06Speaker 16: to any retailer.
- 14:07Speaker 1: More of a unique commerce stack, so to speak. Think
- 14:10Speaker 1: about it from this stance, You've got social your digital marketing,
- 14:14Speaker 1: then you have gift cards and potential in store activities.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Then you have one more component and that is something
- 14:21Speaker 1: called Polka dot pay. Take a look.
- 14:23Speaker 15: So poke it dot pay is not the Pokot app.
- 14:25Speaker 15: Poke it up pay allows you to pay with crypto
- 14:28Speaker 15: with no KYC. You know of a one million stars
- 14:32Speaker 15: in the US, and poke it dot pay is going
- 14:34Speaker 15: to come to Novallet as well in hopefully Keyfa twenty
- 14:37Speaker 15: twenty four. It should be a few weeks after the
- 14:40Speaker 15: Pokot app whenever. That is our timeline is based on
- 14:43Speaker 15: the perkot app being released.
- 14:46Speaker 1: All right, so I can think of a lot of
- 14:47Speaker 1: places this is really going to start to disrupt. You're
- 14:50Speaker 1: going to see disruption in the e commerce side from
- 14:54Speaker 1: a digital marketing standpoint. You're going to see disruption in
- 14:57Speaker 1: the retailing side from what these rewards are going to
- 14:59Speaker 1: do in terms of the impact on consumer. You're going
- 15:01Speaker 1: to see disruption on the commerce side, which is where
- 15:05Speaker 1: you see things like Visa, MasterCard and American Express, et
- 15:08Speaker 1: cetera being used out there. In the retail front. If
- 15:10Speaker 1: all of these things are migrating into a stack that's
- 15:13Speaker 1: coming into the user and benefiting them every time they
- 15:16Speaker 1: make a purchase, this really changes things quickly. So if
- 15:20Speaker 1: you take a look at where polka dot sets today
- 15:22Speaker 1: over on the market cap side of things, they're setting
- 15:26Speaker 1: right at around fourteen billion. Right you add this, mcord
- 15:29Speaker 1: is talking about twenty billion to purchase Instagram or excuse me,
- 15:34Speaker 1: purchase TikTok from a byedance. If twenty billion, and remember
- 15:38Speaker 1: that Elon Musk was able to get X for forty
- 15:40Speaker 1: billion global, I would say that the value of TikTok
- 15:43Speaker 1: might be even better. So it'll be interesting to see
- 15:45Speaker 1: if it's where around twenty if it's greater than that.
- 15:47Speaker 1: But the point is this could really add to the
- 15:49Speaker 1: base value of where Polka Dot could be. Just look
- 15:52Speaker 1: at the potential tokens that this could jump, some of
- 15:56Speaker 1: which will be I think very easily jumped, and that
- 15:59Speaker 1: is going to be chainling time coin Shiba will get there.
- 16:02Speaker 8: The key is is could it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Start to run and challenge Cardono as a potential top ten.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So the other thing that plays into this is where
- 16:12Speaker 1: Telegram will be interoperable with poke dot as well. So
- 16:14Speaker 1: here's ton of integrating with Axelar and kind of see
- 16:17Speaker 1: right here Cosmos, IBC, VIRTUALLYVM, Polka Dot ecosystems, and others
- 16:22Speaker 1: coming in including Salona, Stellars Suite, etc. So all of
- 16:26Speaker 1: this let me kind of zoom up on that so
- 16:27Speaker 1: you guys can to see what I'm talking about there.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But all of this is really kind of positioning Polka
- 16:32Speaker 1: Dot as the lead of potentially the first true blockchain
- 16:36Speaker 1: social media platform. Now where all this goes to is
- 16:39Speaker 1: potentially other social media platforms out there starting to compete.
- 16:42Speaker 1: One of them is going to be me. We let
- 16:44Speaker 1: me go to that clip.
- 16:44Speaker 8: Take a look. We're part of something called Project Liberty.
- 16:48Speaker 8: Steve Wozniak is an advisor why I'll lanche. So what
- 16:53Speaker 8: we did was we took a look at I would
- 16:56Speaker 8: say fifteen different of the top chains that existed. I
- 17:00Speaker 8: don't care if it was Arbitrum, Base Near Technology, Solana, etc.
- 17:05Speaker 8: So we had to have something fast and cost effective,
- 17:08Speaker 8: and their solution just really takes care of it. Once
- 17:12Speaker 8: we have our l one in place and we have
- 17:14Speaker 8: our tokenomics in place, hopefully in the next six months
- 17:18Speaker 8: that's the plan. Although I know we can turn an
- 17:20Speaker 8: l one up in two seconds. Then the plan is
- 17:23Speaker 8: to go out with a full push marketing effort.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Remember that me we was on frequency with the pok
- 17:29Speaker 1: dot chain and the flipover to Avalanche. I think the
- 17:32Speaker 1: key here is you're going to have two chains really
- 17:34Speaker 1: competing for this next evolution of social media platforms. I
- 17:37Speaker 1: think it's going to be dot in avax, So just
- 17:40Speaker 1: keep that in mind. All right, So there's going to
- 17:42Speaker 1: be some losers, and you have to kind of consider who.
- 17:45Speaker 5: They would be.
- 17:45Speaker 1: It's going to affect a lot of different industries and
- 17:48Speaker 1: a lot of different plays. And it's not because of
- 17:50Speaker 1: TikTok being a social media platforms. It's because of TikTok
- 17:54Speaker 1: being a Chinese company. Take a look at this clip.
- 17:57Speaker 17: This does in fact get banned and they don't take
- 18:00Speaker 17: the money, There's going to be some form of retaliation.
- 18:02Speaker 17: The two obvious targets are Tesla and Apple. So China
- 18:05Speaker 17: is the master at red tape can work. They did
- 18:08Speaker 17: this to Tesla, they can impact the shipping the trucking
- 18:12Speaker 17: companies that would take the Tesla's to port to be
- 18:15Speaker 17: exported to Europe. They could do something like that with Apple.
- 18:18Speaker 17: So and the last piece that they could do is
- 18:20Speaker 17: they could have a big influence in terms of how
- 18:22Speaker 17: Chinese people think about Apple products or Tesla products. Unfortunately,
- 18:26Speaker 17: for investors, it's not going to be an obvious headline.
- 18:28Speaker 17: It's just going to be something where it's just the
- 18:30Speaker 17: gears of progress just slow.
- 18:32Speaker 8: In today's Apple world. You know, it's not going to
- 18:34Speaker 8: necessarily the move.
- 18:35Speaker 15: We're sitting here, it's an all time high.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Despite the fact that we're having this conversation.
- 18:39Speaker 17: If we look at the total revenue from Apple, we
- 18:42Speaker 17: estimate about forty five percent of that is somehow related
- 18:46Speaker 17: to manufacturing in China. As you said, that's been coming down.
- 18:50Speaker 1: But some of the other players that could get hit
- 18:52Speaker 1: on this is actually starting to play out right now.
- 18:54Speaker 1: In fact, China is probing Nvidia on suspicion of anti
- 18:58Speaker 1: monopoly law. This is how China will do it, is
- 19:01Speaker 1: they'll go after some of these major American companies. Nvidia
- 19:04Speaker 1: could also fall into the hairs of where this is
- 19:07Speaker 1: going now. If they fall into the crosshairs and how
- 19:10Speaker 1: this plays into maybe the future of the chip manufacturing,
- 19:14Speaker 1: but even cloud compute, then you have to look at
- 19:16Speaker 1: who else could win on that. Maybe render comes into
- 19:19Speaker 1: the play we talked about render. This is cloud distributed GPU.
- 19:23Speaker 1: So there's a lot of things that are working here
- 19:25Speaker 1: right now, a lot of working parts, but it's all
- 19:28Speaker 1: coming to a head very quickly. So if I can
- 19:30Speaker 1: say anything, look at Polka Dot, look at Avalanche, take
- 19:34Speaker 1: a look at where this technology is going, because this
- 19:36Speaker 1: is I think going to be the next step in
- 19:37Speaker 1: social media platforms. All right, if you guys are not
- 19:40Speaker 1: in the diamond circle, make sure and get in that
- 19:41Speaker 1: right now. It's a great place to get additional content. Also,
