Shaar HaBitachon IV - 55 - How To Ask For A Favor
When you ask someone for a favor, who are you really relying on? This shiur on the practical level of bitachon teaches that the person you ask — rich or poor, powerful or not — is only a shaliach, a messenger of Hashem. Like soil that only grows what Hashem decrees, the one who helps you is the means, never the source. Trust Hashem to carry out what you need, thank the person for their good heart, and never lean on people in place of Him.
