- 0:28Let's get ready.
- 0:30Comfortable and get started Alright.
- 0:32So we started talking.
- 0:34So many faces here.
- 0:35Welcome everyone to this powerful, powerful webinar.
- 0:39And if this is your first time here, doctor Jennifer Genci, and I also have Marilyn here, my office manager.
- 0:45And we're gonna talk about the issues that we are seeing right now.
- 0:50And these issues are not just made up issues.
- 0:52They are things that have been reported by CNBC, CBS, even American, physician association is reporting this issue.
- 0:59And I think since we are the other side of the issue, it is very apparent and very important that we come and talk about it.
- 1:08I am a holistic functional medicine doctor.
- 1:11I used to practice on the conventional side, so I know I am familiar with what's going on, And I also talked to some of my colleagues, and I also know what they're going through.
- 1:21So this is not me telling you what's going on.
- 1:24This is actually what's going on.
- 1:25I can literally open your eyes and look around and see how many people are dissatisfied with the care they are receiving because there's not enough doctors out there to provide the care.
- 1:34So today, we're gonna talk about the doctor side of the shortage and also how this shortage can directly CLEAR or indirectly affect you.
- 1:45Because when I was preparing this conversation, I was talking to other, patients or prospects.
- 1:50They're like, oh, well, doctor Jates is not me.
- 1:52I can just pick up the phone and call my doctors and make an appointment and apply.
- 1:56I'm like, okay.
- 1:57Cool.
- 1:57When I ask them questions, They're like, oh, yeah.
- 2:00You're right.
- 2:01This is this and this and that.
- 2:02So I compiled all the ways this provider shortage, medicine provider shortage affecting me.
- 2:08Because I I think many of us are not thinking about it because, again, Some of you might have beautiful relationship with your doctors, but yet there's something you wish your doctors could do for you that your doctor's not doing or some experiences that you encounter that you're not too happy about.
- 2:23So we're gonna keep this to less than an hour.
- 2:26I'm gonna go over a few slides.
- 2:28If you have any questions at all, leave it at the end of the webinar.
- 2:32And then Marilyn, as I mentioned at the beginning before I started recording, We'll do a brief, you know, presentation on insurance.
- 2:40Because I think when it comes to insurance, some of us are not educated Because of this literacy.
- 2:46Right?
- 2:46We're not educated.
- 2:48We don't understand the world of insurance, the game of insurance.
- 2:52Because of that, we are not getting the treatment.
- 2:55Because insurance kind of plays huge role In the care that you're receiving, the doctors can provide the care for you.
- 3:02So we're gonna talk about that as well.
- 3:04Again, if you have any other questions, you can put in the chat.
- 3:07Well, I'll spend a few minutes at the end to answer all questions.
- 3:10It doesn't have to be about the shortage.
- 3:12It can be about all things.
- 3:13It can be about functional medicine, holistic medicine, natural medicine.
- 3:17I don't know.
- 3:18What we do in our practice, if you have or have conditions you want me to just dissect it for you, I will do that as well.
- 3:25I am a weirdo.
- 3:26I geeked out on all things herbs and functional medicine.
- 3:30I am so passionate about helping my patients get to the root cause of what's going on with them.
- 3:36Root cause.
- 3:36And that was the number 1 reason.
- 3:38Besides burning up and overwhelmed.
- 3:40But that was the number 1 reason why I left conventional medicine because I didn't have time to identify the root cause of what's going on in my patient's body.
- 3:49I was just giving them pills and hoping and wishing it works.
- 3:52And they will come back and be like, well, doctor Jay.
- 3:54This pill that you gave me.
- 3:56I still have high blood pressure.
- 3:57My blood pressure is developed, and then I will give him another pill.
- 4:00Or my metformin is really give me a problem in my stomach.
- 4:03I'll give him lentils.
- 4:04Give him an injection.
- 4:06But I I was always thinking about a tree.
- 4:09Like, your body is a tree.
- 4:12We see the branches.
- 4:13We don't see the worth of the tree.
- 4:16In order for us to grow a healthy tree.
- 4:19We need to look at the wood.
- 4:21So I spend my time dissecting, analyzing, investigating all things with cause related.
- 4:28So that's me.
- 4:29If you're new to my world, I didn't know I was gonna have so many faces.
- 4:32I'm So happy so happy here.
- 4:33So if you like this, then every month, I would invite for you to join us in our next webinars, and that's what I'm gonna do.
- 4:40Because at the end of the day, course.
- 4:42Primary, providers mean doctors, providers mean, educator, and education is huge when you wanna heal your body.
- 4:50And that was 1 of the thing I didn't have time to do with my patients.
- 4:53I didn't know I didn't educate anybody.
- 4:55I mean, they just come.
- 4:56I give them pill, and let's just hope for the best.
- 4:59But doctor, if you really look at that word in Latin, means education.
- 5:04If you do if you are not educated, you won't know why you're taking this pill.
- 5:08What this pill supposed to do for you?
- 5:09When you're supposed to stop the pill?
- 5:11How often like, you need to be educated.
- 5:14So I Part of my philosophy and what I focus on the most for my patients is always educating them.
- 5:20Even when they send me a brief message, I will send them a long response.
- 5:23I'm like, yeah.
- 5:24I picked this, but this is why.
- 5:26So education is key.
- 5:28So what are we gonna learn today?
- 5:30This is what we're gonna learn today.
- 5:31It's gonna be very quick, sweet, straight to the point.
- 5:34Again, this is not me reporting the news.
- 5:37The news has been reported.
- 5:38This is me telling you the facts.
- 5:40And I'm I've been collectively listening.
- 5:42I've been listening to my patients for years now.
- 5:45Because, again, as a functional medicine doctor, people come to us after they've seen other doctors.
- 5:51And you'll be amazed the story they tell me.
- 5:53I'm like, The doctor told you that the like, I'm telling you, the patients are telling me, I'm like, wow.
- 5:59This is so disrespectful.
- 6:00That's not right.
- 6:01You should not be, you know, exposed to this.
- 6:03So today, we're gonna talk about primary care shortage.
- 6:07The nitty gritty of an insurance company is you need to know empowerment steps that you need to consider on your healing journey is all about you.
- 6:16It starts with you and it ends with you.
- 6:19Many of us will go to a doctor's office thinking that we have no participation.
- 6:23Like, we have no like, we don't know what we're doing.
- 6:25It has nothing to do with us.
- 6:27I have this stomach pain.
- 6:28I'm gonna go to my doctor and just to I know.
- 6:30And and wait for my doctor to do something.
- 6:32No.
- 6:33It starts with you.
- 6:34Healing starts with you.
- 6:36Just like The problem starts with you.
- 6:38The problem ends with you.
- 6:39The solution is within you.
- 6:41So I want you to feel empowered wherever you are on your journey to notice that I heal myself.
- 6:47No doctor can heal you.
- 6:48Not even I.
- 6:49But you and Jesus, if you believe in God, can heal you.
- 6:52But it starts with you.
- 6:53Once you're empowered, right, you're motivated, you take action.
- 6:57Many of us are not.
- 6:58We just wait and hope and pray.
- 7:00And then when the things that we want are not happening, we get discouraged.
- 7:05We get depressed.
- 7:06So I I'm gonna go over some things that you need to do.
- 7:10Like, literally, you can do tomorrow.
- 7:12Some things for you to contemplate on.
- 7:14That's gonna empower you on this journey.
- 7:16That's gonna empower you to lose the weight.
- 7:18That's gonna empower you to, you know, get rid of those blood pressure medication, diabetic medication.
- 7:23Whatever your goals are for 20 24, I'm gonna go over some things with you, for you to do.
- 7:29Easy thing easy simple thing.
- 7:31Things that you know already might be a refresher, but you know that already.
- 7:34And then we're gonna talk about how we are contributing to the solution of this issue.
- 7:39Because, again, I know I was telling my patient the other day because I don't have a doctor.
- 7:44Being honest video.
- 7:45We all we I'm very transparent.
- 7:46I'm an open book.
- 7:47I don't have a doctor, but how am I being affected?
- 7:50Patient said, well, doctor Jay, you don't go to the doctor.
- 7:52That's true.
- 7:53But how you been affected?
- 7:55I'm being affected because I see patients that are sicker and sicker coming through my door.
- 7:59Things that could have been taken care of months ago, those things get exacerbated and that they are worse.
- 8:06When I'm when I give a patient a, uh, detailed intake form for them to complete, and I'm looking at the intake form now.
- 8:11When did you have this acid reflux?
- 8:13Oh, a few years ago.
- 8:15How did you get this acid reflux?
- 8:16And we're going through.
- 8:17Like, I'm investigating.
- 8:19I'm like, wow.
- 8:19And how many Nexium did you take?
- 8:21On Mapozap and Topozap?
- 8:23How many endoscopies did you have?
- 8:24And I'm not and then everything is normal.
- 8:27Where in fact, we could have just looked at this case.
- 8:29We could have just looked at the patient and looked at the eating habits.
- 8:33The step they should take to decrease the pressure that is produced in the stomach, right, that's creating the flap, well, you know, for the acid reflux to come, you know, to happen.
- 8:43So if I can get a hold to put my hands on those people before they get worse, I'm telling you, we can collapse time.
- 8:51We can decrease the healing.
- 8:53And they can hear quicker and faster.
- 8:55That's gonna be less financial cost for them.
- 8:58Less work on their part and less of, fewer doctor's visit.
- 9:03So now it's been affected because I'm having them do more work, and they are with me longer period of time, which is a blessing.
- 9:10I'm not complaining.
- 9:11And then I see them, you know, have, you know, faced many challenges and struggles as they are healing the bodies.
- 9:17Because we have to remove so many things to get to the layer layers of the deep healing.
- 9:23So that's why I'm being affected.
- 9:24So I'm see I'm seeing since COVID, oh my god.
- 9:27I am seeing sicker and sicker and sicker in my practice, and it requires more work and more work work.
- 9:34So that's how I'm affected.
- 9:35For you, it might be different.
- 9:36I have a list of things.
- 9:37Again, we're gonna go over.
- 9:39You can just check and see if you believe any of that stuff.
- 9:42Well, that's what we're gonna talk about.
- 9:44Sadly, this is an issue, this primary care shortage or conventional medicine provider shortage that is put in all over America.
- 9:51It is a crisis, my friend.
- 9:53It is a crisis.
- 9:54If you don't believe me, just once you get off this webinar, sit with yourself and say, okay.
- 9:59Did a family member went to a doctor?
- 10:02Was the family member happy?
- 10:04You called the doctor's office.
- 10:05Did you get a callback?
- 10:06Do you have access to your doctor?
- 10:09And how many patients you think the doctor has to see?
- 10:12We're gonna talk about that.
- 10:13That's what's happening with this provider shortage.
- 10:16And when you went to see the doctor, how many minutes did they spend with you?
- 10:19Were you able to verbalize your feelings, your concerns?
- 10:22Were you able to say, well, doctor, I'm I'm I'm scared.
- 10:25Right?
- 10:26I think I have cancer.
- 10:27No.
- 10:27I'm just kidding.
- 10:28I'm scared that this is what's been happening, and I don't know what's going on in my body.
- 10:32And my symptoms are consuming me.
- 10:34They're keeping me up at night.
- 10:35I keep thinking about them because I can't figure it out.
- 10:39There's no way you can do that when you have a 15 minutes visit.
- 10:42So everybody's affected.
- 10:44I'm affected.
- 10:44You're affected whether you believe it or not.
- 10:46Children's, parents, grandparents, anyone who relies on insurance for the doctor's care is also affected.
- 10:52Because now, as Marilyn's gonna outline later on, it's it's completely different with insurance.
- 10:58Again, this is not to bash insurance or doctors, but this is the truth.
- 11:02This is the truth.
- 11:03And, Again, many of us, like, just verbalize verbalizing dissatisfaction with the lack of access of routine care.
- 11:11We are seeing that minor health problems of spiling to chronic health problems.
- 11:15Many of us are sick, but we started with 1 little tiny thing.
- 11:181 little tiny discomfort or pain.
- 11:20The symptoms, little tiny 1.
- 11:23And then now because we are not getting the proper treatment, this little tiny thing kinda grow into a bigger thing.
- 11:30And now you you find yourself taking 1 or 2 or 3 medications or finding which doctor because you don't wanna take the medications.
- 11:36They tell you to take this medication.
- 11:38You've seen so many doctors hoping that somebody would do something so you don't take the medications.
- 11:43No.
- 11:44So with poor disease management, emergency room of reuse and unsustainable cost.
- 11:49That's what's going on with the shortage.
- 11:51This provider shortage has been in existence for years.
- 11:55Not today, not yesterday, not last year.
- 11:584 years.
- 11:59I saw that in, uh, the shortage in the urgent emergency room and also school in urgent care.
- 12:05I saw the shortage.
- 12:06I was working like a dog like a dog.
- 12:09I was seeing 25 patients in 1 day.
- 12:12Not enough time for me to go pee.
- 12:14And in my and then by the end of the day, I felt so exhausted and overwhelmed.
- 12:20I had no more Used to give to my baby.
- 12:22No more just to give to my family.
- 12:24That was me.
- 12:25So this shortage has been happening.
- 12:26Now we're talking about it because you guys are complaining.
- 12:29Because the consumer's complaint.
- 12:31The consumer is not trusting doctors and the medical care system anymore.
- 12:36You.
- 12:37Like, when you left the doctor's office, you're back, oh my god.
- 12:39I saw the doctor.
- 12:40The doctor just spent 5 minutes with me, just hand me a prescription.
- 12:44The doctor knows nothing was going on with me.
- 12:46Oh, I took the prescription.
- 12:48I'm getting so many side effects.
- 12:50That's why because you guys are complaining.
- 12:52And because you guys are complaining, the insurance is not okay.
- 12:55Uh, I'm not paying for more.
- 12:57Okay?
- 12:57So 50 minutes, that's it.
- 12:59That's all you're gonna get.
- 13:00But it is this problem doesn't allow for quicks and easy fix.
- 13:05Right?
- 13:06But I have to tell you, there's a solution for every problem.
- 13:09If you are in my world, this is my module.
- 13:12There is a solution for every problem, and we're gonna talk about that solution in a few.
- 13:16But what is, what is the shortage?
- 13:18Right?
- 13:19Fewer providers or more patients.
- 13:21Some patients are losing the doctors because they can't get in, and they feel in stock.
- 13:26Imagine walking into the emergency room or urgent care, right, in moments of crisis and desperation need for provider's care And to find out there's not enough people to take care of you, and now you have to wait hours and hours and hours for an issue that could have looked at in minutes.
- 13:44That's what we are up against, my friend.
- 13:47And we cannot close our eyes and pretend that it is it doesn't exist.
- 13:51Okay?
- 13:52Our current provider shortage is already limited access to care for millions of people, and it's about to get worse.
- 13:59Now the American Medical Association president JC Harenfeld, if I'm saying his name right, He's already talking about this.
- 14:08He wrote an article about the growing national physician shortage and also cost cutting half system and prices.
- 14:16And you're saying the reason why there's a shortage because, there are critical strains on doctors, including enormous administrative burdens, burnout, attacks on science, a broken Medicare system, and a half crisis that is worsening every day.
- 14:33That is, you know, reason for this shortage.
- 14:36Me?
- 14:37I came up with a list right here.
- 14:39I'm telling you, I think that list is longer than what I have here, but, yes, doctors are burnt out.
- 14:43They are overwhelmed.
- 14:44They have lack of support.
- 14:45Poor insurance reimbursement.
- 14:47You know, doctors pay.
- 14:49The insurance pay them.
- 14:50If the insurance is not reimbursing properly, how many people do they have to see to make, you know, to make the revenue?
- 14:56Poor self care.
- 14:57Doctors do not have good self care.
- 14:59They don't.
- 15:00Many doctors have the same disease that you have.
- 15:02Many doctors happen.
- 15:03Blood pressure, diabetes.
- 15:05They have the same issues.
- 15:06They have autoimmune just like you.
- 15:09Literally poor self care.
- 15:11How can you have self care when you're seeing 20, 30, 30 people patients a day?
- 15:15You don't have time to eat.
- 15:17Right?
- 15:17You're going from 1 room to another room.
- 15:19And even though you're going from 1 room to another, when you're spending 15, you know, 30 minutes with them, that's still not enough.
- 15:25This is what's going on on the doctor side.
- 15:27Work life balance is for.
- 15:29Like, as of that and that was, like, years ago, I wasn't I was not there for my family.
- 15:35Many doctors are complaining about that.
- 15:37They're not there for the families.
- 15:38We have poor mental health.
- 15:40They are depressed.
- 15:41They are anxious.
- 15:42They feel alone on this journey.
- 15:44Yeah.
- 15:45Doctors do.
- 15:45They feel alone.
- 15:46They're like, nobody's supporting us.
- 15:49Like, right now, this American Medical Association president is trying to, you know, go to Congress to see if they can pass a bill to have doctors.
- 15:56But, again, the insurance is the 1 the The insurance is what's dictating.
- 16:01But pharma is really at the head of the table telling doctors what to do.
- 16:05You don't need more more time with the patients.
- 16:07Just give them a pill.
- 16:08You don't need more time.
- 16:09Just give them a pill.
- 16:10This patient comes to you with high blood pressure.
- 16:13You give lisinopril doesn't work.
- 16:15Give them hydrochloric ties.
- 16:16That doesn't work.
- 16:17Give them, you know, Metropolo.
- 16:18Give them a pill.
- 16:19For what?
- 16:20What do you need more time for?
- 16:21I just want to be pharmacist.
- 16:23That's why we keep producing medications every day.
- 16:26That's the new medications out there.
- 16:28So Dacus is like, no.
- 16:29I wanna do more than just give them a pill.
- 16:32Giving them a pill is not the solution.
- 16:34That's what doctors is saying.
- 16:35That's what I used to say.
- 16:36I'm like, how is that?
- 16:37And I'm giving them a pill, and then they're gonna Google it and see all the side effects.
- 16:41So doctors are really poor men to help.
- 16:43They are depressed.
- 16:44They are anxious.
- 16:45They are unhappy with this profession, right, that they spent years in training for.
- 16:51They cannot keep up with the demand.
- 16:52So many people are sick.
- 16:54That's why I'm telling you.
- 16:55It is your job and your responsibility to know what you need to do to be you know, to kinda reduce the burden in the medical system.
- 17:03The days where you just transfer care completely, your care to the doctors is over.
- 17:08Okay?
- 17:09We're gonna talk about that.
- 17:10I really want you to be able to have this motivation to do things.
- 17:15So when you go see your doctors, You don't have to, Willie.
- 17:19There's not a lot a lot to do.
- 17:21Okay?
- 17:21And I know many of you guys wanna do this.
- 17:24Uh, my patients will come to me.
- 17:25They have a desire for this.
- 17:26You just don't have to, the guidance, the support, and the system.
- 17:29Right?
- 17:29But I'm gonna tell you some things you can do, to help you with that.
- 17:33So So people are getting the sicker and sicker since COVID.
- 17:35Oh my goodness.
- 17:36Pharmaceuticals, as I mentioned, there's new medications out there for the same condition, the same disease.
- 17:411 condition, 20000000 medications.
- 17:44We sit out with COVID.
- 17:451 virus, 3 pharmaceutical companies with 3 different formulation.
- 17:511 diabetes.
- 17:52Right?
- 17:531.
- 17:531 condition.
- 17:54So many medications.
- 17:55We We don't know what work or doesn't work.
- 17:57We're gonna try everything on you.
- 17:58That's what's going on.
- 18:00So before now, can't even keep up with the demand either.
- 18:03That's Why they keep producing medication?
- 18:04They can't keep up.
- 18:06Before, I cannot keep up.
- 18:07They're like, okay.
- 18:08Well, this medication used to help 2 years ago.
- 18:11No.
- 18:11It's not helping.
- 18:12So we need to produce a new medication.
- 18:14So next thing you know, there's a new medication on the market that is, you know, promise to be better than the old 1.
- 18:21Yeah.
- 18:21Yeah.
- 18:22You guys, we need to open your eyes.
- 18:24This is a serious crisis.
- 18:25If you are if health and wellness is your priority for 20 24.
- 18:30What I'm saying today is to resonate with you.
- 18:33Because I know you might not be on the end where you're getting the poor treatment.
- 18:38Right?
- 18:38You might be like, well, doctor g, I just go to my doctor.
- 18:41I will take pills, whatever, but somebody else is.
- 18:44A family member is.
- 18:45A loved 1 is.
- 18:47And all these people that ended up in the nursing home, they didn't want they don't wanna be in a nursing home on 3 pills, 5 pills, 20 pills.
- 18:53It's not their fault.
- 18:55Medications do not treat anything.
- 18:58Medications do not solve anything.
- 19:00Medications only add up to it.
- 19:03I prescribe.
- 19:04I have no no issues prescribing, but I prescribe very temporary.
- 19:09I will give a patient any minute the prednisone for 3 days.
- 19:13Why?
- 19:13Because medication has its place.
- 19:14Medication is there to stabilize your body.
- 19:17Not free to be on it for weeks at a time.
- 19:20And when we are on this any medication for weeks at a time, we are recent the chance of you getting all the side effects and you being in a nursing home.
- 19:28Because 1 thing 1 part of your body is gonna work down.
- 19:30Right?
- 19:32You used to have this energy, and you get sick, and you get put on, you know, metformin forever, and I think your liver start failing.
- 19:37And so when the liver start failing, forget it.
- 19:40You have high liver enzymes, and then you have fatty liver disease and right?
- 19:43You have stomach acid.
- 19:45Right?
- 19:46GERD.
- 19:46You get put on mepozole, pentoprazole.
- 19:48Next thing you know, you can digest your food.
- 19:50You end up with gas and bloat and have bone issues.
- 19:53Again, we take the medication.
- 19:55We use it for what it is.
- 19:56We take it to stabilize our bodies, and then we'll move on to the next step.
- 20:01Right?
- 20:02So, again, that pharmaceuticals is big.
- 20:04They can't keep up.
- 20:05They We do some new medication new medication every single week.
- 20:09Restricted Laura's lap.
- 20:11Oh my god.
- 20:11New Jersey is the worst.
- 20:12So that's why doctors are moving up.
- 20:14Right?
- 20:14They're quitting, and they are moving.
- 20:15Doctors are living medicine.
- 20:17If you go on YouTube and you type, the great resignation, I think it is.
- 20:21Like, for part doctors, you see so many doctors literally live in medicine.
- 20:25So we already have a shortage, and doctors who live in medicine.
- 20:28What's gonna happen?
- 20:30You put 2 and 2 together.
- 20:31We don't have enough.
- 20:32They need to stay.
- 20:33They can't leave medicine.
- 20:35Right?
- 20:35They are frustrated.
- 20:36Not enough income.
- 20:37Doctors don't are not getting paid unless you're a big fat surgeon.
- 20:41Now that's why we tell, you know, patients with telomeres surgeon have really bad bad bedside manner.
- 20:46They don't they don't have to talk to you.
- 20:47They just have to they just have to do the operation and searches, and that's it.
- 20:51But primary care doctors, no.
- 20:53They depend The income is depending how many people they see per day.
- 20:57How many people they see per day.
- 21:00So that's is why the 15 minutes visit is what they can provide because they need to see a lot of people, not only to get the doors open, to be the staff, and also for them to go in home, you know, to take care of the families so they don't pay enough.
- 21:15And many of them have a hefty bill student loans.
- 21:18Right?
- 21:19So, again, we have more chronic health diseases.
- 21:22We're living longer.
- 21:23We're staying sick.
- 21:25We are living longer, and we are staying sick.
- 21:27Okay.
- 21:28Back in the days, people used to die by 60 something.
- 21:30Now we're, like, 80, 90.
- 21:31We're still plucking away.
- 21:33Guess what?
- 21:34We are staying safe.
- 21:35We are we still have this chronic health condition lingering around.
- 21:38Right?
- 21:38Suffering in silence.
- 21:40On average, and this is true, and I'm gonna tell you guys what we used to do, at an urgent care I used to work at.
- 21:47On average, a provider spend about 2 hours on paperwork for every 15 to 30 minutes visit this thing with you.
- 21:55An average.
- 21:56What we used to do at the urgent care, I used to work out.
- 21:59We used to have a template for every single condition.
- 22:01Right?
- 22:02So if you come to me, you have a UCI, urinary tract infection, I have a template.
- 22:08All I have to do is put your name on top of it because I know exactly what the insurance is asking because we don't want the you know, for them to deny the claims.
- 22:15So we have a template with the ISB codes, the CPT codes, all the codes they need.
- 22:20And then all we have to do, we just put your name on top and just put the results from your your analysis.
- 22:24Right?
- 22:25And then the treatment is still the same because in conventional medicine, it's standard of care.
- 22:30It's still the same.
- 22:31We give, you know, medication, antibiotic to everybody.
- 22:34Still the same.
- 22:35We're not increased the dosage because the the primary dosage is not working, But it's not customized.
- 22:41It's not individualized.
- 22:42You get the same metformin, same Mozambique, sumo and geryl, the same, you know, Lipitor.
- 22:48The sim you get the sim.
- 22:50So we have the standard care plan.
- 22:53So then that's what that's what we used to do to save us so we can see more patients.
- 22:57Because because if we didn't do that, then we'll have to spend hours and hours trotting.
- 23:02And how many time do you guys see this?
- 23:04Right?
- 23:04You go to your doctor's office, and the after walking with the with the laptop.
- 23:08And the doctor's talking to you, not even making eye contact.
- 23:12So and so, thank you for that.
- 23:13Not even If we're coming, how can I help you?
- 23:15They literally not make an eye contact because the doctor needs to make sure the charting is on point because when we submit it to the insurance, so they can get reimbursement.
- 23:23Because it takes a lot, a lot.
- 23:25Back in the days, there wasn't that much starting.
- 23:27Right?
- 23:27Because insurance wasn't dictating anything.
- 23:30Right?
- 23:30So doctors can spend so, like, a long time with you, so many hours with you.
- 23:35Now, nope.
- 23:36Gotta see you real quick.
- 23:37Make sure we tell the insurance exactly what they need to hear so we can get reimbursed.
- 23:41So, again, we need to know this because It would this will shed some light on what's going on behind the scenes with our doctors and our health care system, the insurance, and why you are not getting the care.
- 23:55And this will also will propel you to take ownership and do better because it starts with you.
- 24:00As I said, you're gonna hear me say it 300 times.
- 24:03Right?
- 24:03You're gonna do better.
- 24:04If you know what's going on with our doctors, the reasons why they can't see you the way you want them to, right, and how they are buried on the pile of paper and policy with insurance.
- 24:14And before I was telling them how to do everything, right, that will kinda open your eyes and be like, oh, wow.
- 24:20Yeah.
- 24:21I mean, this right here.
- 24:23That's the reason why they can't see me for more than 15, 20 minutes.
- 24:27Right?
- 24:28And then you can start doing some things for yourself.
- 24:30So when you go see a doctor's office, again, the the the issues that you have is very minor.
- 24:36That's what I want for you, all of you guys in 20 24.
- 24:40And I'm not saying this to scare you, to put fear into you, but I'm telling you, open your eyes.
- 24:47It is gonna get worse.
- 24:49It is gonna get worse.
- 24:50People are getting sick left and right.
- 24:53Cold, you know, this, you know, virus is out there.
- 24:57COVID is coming back.
- 24:58We can hear your bodies 1 thing after another.
- 25:01Like, we are getting sick.
- 25:03Starts with 1 thing and then sprawl into something else, and you can't recover.
- 25:07Right?
- 25:08So now this is what I'm I'm referring to.
- 25:11It will get worse.
- 25:12So I have some stats for you.
- 25:14This is from the American Association of Medical colleges.
- 25:17Right?
- 25:17And also American Association of,, American Medical Association as well.
- 25:22So this is what they come up with.
- 25:23They said Sue had 3 providers admitted to experiencing burnout during the pandemic.
- 25:30Right?
- 25:30That's according to with AMA, American Medical association, the Mayo Clinic and Sanford Medicine.
- 25:37And that is the highest level of burnout recorded in history according to them.
- 25:411 in 5 physician surveyed during the pandemic said they will be planning living medicine in the next 2 week 2 years.
- 25:50They are living medicine.
- 25:51It's not worth it.
- 25:52It's not worth the money.
- 25:53It's not worth the burnout.
- 25:54It's not worth the stress.
- 25:551 in 3 said they'll cut back the hours, Okay?
- 25:59Because it's too much, and that was me.
- 26:01You know how much, like, they'll call me back, doctor Jay, when I come in today?
- 26:05Nope.
- 26:05Even if I need the money, I'm like, oh my god.
- 26:08This is gonna be a long day, and I got a hot tub.
- 26:10Like, I can't.
- 26:11I'm already tired and exhausted.
- 26:13The answer is no.
- 26:14Fight.
- 26:15the American Association of Medical Colleges project that the national physician shortage We'll be at least over a hundred thousands in the next decade.
- 26:24So it is gonna get worse.
- 26:26If you think it's worse now, it's gonna get worse.
- 26:29So what are we gonna do?
- 26:30What should you do?
- 26:32There's plenty you can do.
- 26:33Okay?
- 26:34So when providers, doctors, lack those resources, they need to keep the practices open.
- 26:40The door the office is open.
- 26:42Right?
- 26:43They will either reduce hours or work with fewer supports or they limit the amount of Medicare patients they take or stop seeing Medicare patients altogether.
- 26:54Many doctors are not seeing Medicare patients now.
- 26:57They cannot afford to.
- 26:58So what is gonna what's gonna happen when you and I turn 65 and 70, 80, and we are qualified for Medicare, and that is not seeing us.
- 27:07Right?
- 27:07Like, we all should go to a doctor's for routine examination, like, every year.
- 27:12You should go to doctor just to make sure everything is working fine and they're not detecting anything early.
- 27:17But if we are not, many doctors have not seen Medicaid.
- 27:20And, Marianne, we'll go over why the reimbursement is so loose.
- 27:23A lot of paperwork for little money so they opt out of Medicare.
- 27:27Either way, it's patients who's suffering.
- 27:29Not it's you that's suffering.
- 27:30Me that's suffering from reduced or lost access to essential care Because we have to wait months to get an appointment, or we have to travel far to see a doctor that you don't even know.
- 27:42Alright?
- 27:43So how do we fix this issue on the doctor's side?
- 27:46Because we're gonna talk about, in a few seconds How this is affecting you and what we're gonna do to fix it on your side.
- 27:52But how do we fix this issue on the data side?
- 27:54For the first time the first time is to provide financial support.
- 27:57Doctors needs to really be compensated.
- 28:00And how we're gonna do that?
- 28:01We need to limit access the insurance has when it comes to providing care.
- 28:06Black insurance should not be telling doctors how long they should see you, when they should see you.
- 28:12Right?
- 28:12Like, you go to your doctors and you have 3 complaints.
- 28:15The doctor can only address 1.
- 28:17When your body is 1 machine.
- 28:19Your body is connected.
- 28:20If you have a headaches and your stomach is hurting, it's I cannot I'm not gonna refer you to a neurologist for the headache and then send you to a GI for the for the stomach pain.
- 28:29Maybe have food sensitivities.
- 28:31Maybe you haven't got infections, and then those things are producing toxins.
- 28:34They are licking into your bloodstream, traveling to your brain, and giving you a headache.
- 28:38Maybe you didn't sip you didn't sleep well because you ate something.
- 28:42You have a stomach virus.
- 28:44Right?
- 28:44And then you didn't sleep well because you don't sleep well, and you end up with a headache.
- 28:48There are so many reasons why you have a headache.
- 28:50Your body's connected.
- 28:51But when the insurance said, nope.
- 28:53You can only see 1 issue at a time.
- 28:56It's gonna take you longer for you to heal your body.
- 28:59It's gonna take you seeing multiple doctors to really get to the solution and the results that you are looking for.
- 29:06Insurance should really have no say.
- 29:08I'm this this is the honest truth.
- 29:10Ensure should not tell doctors how to see you, when to see you, where to see you, by whom.
- 29:15Like, nothing.
- 29:16Because you as an individual, you're a human being.
- 29:18You deserve the care.
- 29:20You only have 1 body, 1 health.
- 29:22Once you lose it, you lose it.
- 29:24Once you lose your hub, like, your body's gonna give you so many opportunities, right, for you to be jumped back and restore and reset.
- 29:31But if you don't listen, you don't fix those communication systems that are being sent your way from your body to you, And we keep taking a pill, and you and your doctor's, you know, just not looking at the whole picture, at the whole tree, at the whole car, at the whole, you know, vessel.
- 29:49And they are separating the care.
- 29:51This this can be broken.
- 29:52It's like you have a 3 legged stool.
- 29:54We're only looking at 1.
- 29:56So that's how we're gonna fix this part.
- 29:58I'm gonna adapt this part.
- 29:59Like, take the insurance out like it used to be back in the days.
- 30:03Did you know back in the days, we didn't have insurance?
- 30:05Because we're making, like, house visits.
- 30:07Now we have insurance, and many of you guys go probably gonna say, well, doctor Jay, I want my insurance.
- 30:13They pay for me.
- 30:14Right?
- 30:15They pay for the care.
- 30:17Really?
- 30:17Do they really pay for the care?
- 30:19And then the care they are paying for, are you happy with that care?
- 30:23That's the question I wanna ask you.
- 30:25Because, again, I'm not against insurance.
- 30:26We're gonna use it for all these.
- 30:29We're gonna use it for what it is.
- 30:31But at the same time, you should also be aware the hold and the impact insurance has and the care that you are receiving.
- 30:40The hold and the impact.
- 30:42So we need to make sure that we like, The insurance has no say.
- 30:45The insurance need to pay the money.
- 30:46They need to pay the doctors, and let the doctors take care of you like the the way you deserve to be taken care of.
- 30:54Okay?
- 30:54And also, big pharma, we need to stop all these medications and let the doctor have time to identify the root cause.
- 31:02And I really think doctors should learn a little bit of functional medicine and natural medicine.
- 31:07Right?
- 31:07The testing, they should be implemented.
- 31:10Basic testing doesn't give you anything.
- 31:12Basic testing give you basic results.
- 31:15But if you don't feel well And the basic test is coming back, and everything is normal, but you tell me you don't feel well.
- 31:21So we need to really go to advanced testing.
- 31:24And guess what?
- 31:24We cannot because insurance won't pay for it.
- 31:27That's gonna keep you sick longer.
- 31:29So doctor should really be knowledgeable when it comes to functional medicine because there's so many things you can do to identify the root cause.
- 31:38And I'm telling you from the very beginning, just just like I did in the very beginning.
- 31:41If you don't know the root cause, you will not heal your body.
- 31:44I don't care who, where, what.
- 31:47Step 1, within your body.
- 31:49Step 1, to healing your body is to identify the cause.
- 31:52Step 1.
- 31:54Step 1, identify the cause.
- 31:56What is causing the symptoms?
- 31:58What is causing the way you feel?
- 32:00What is causing the discomfort?
- 32:01How did this happen?
- 32:03What did you do to your body?
- 32:04What did you eat?
- 32:05What were you exposed to?
- 32:07What is the stress level.
- 32:08What are your hormones telling us?
- 32:10What are your toxicity level?
- 32:12Identify the root cause, number 1.
- 32:15And that's why conventional medicine have failed us because they do not doctors don't have time to identify the root cause for all this issue I just mentioned.
- 32:24Right?
- 32:24I have to see a lot of people overwhelmed, can't make enough money, lack a pill for the ear, like, not getting the support from, you know, not only from insurance, pharmaceutical company, but not getting the support.
- 32:34If you are dealing with any health conditions right now And you find yourself on this rollercoaster seeing all the doctors and not feeling good.
- 32:42Did you identify the cause?
- 32:44And that is the number 1 question I ask my patients.
- 32:46I'm like, oh, You have stomach acid?
- 32:48What's the cause?
- 32:49I don't know.
- 32:50Oh, you have your blood pressure's deteriorated?
- 32:53What is the cause?
- 32:55I don't know.
- 32:56You know what?
- 32:56They tell me my mom had it.
- 32:58It's genetic.
- 32:59I can do a whole I can do a whole webinar about genetics.
- 33:02Okay?
- 33:03Like, I again, I'm weird.
- 33:05Welcome to my weirdness.
- 33:06Okay?
- 33:07Like, your mom had it.
- 33:08Like, my mom had it.
- 33:09I mean, my parents had it.
- 33:11I don't have it.
- 33:12If you can turn off those genes.
- 33:13Right?
- 33:14I have a whole school about genetics.
- 33:16If you guys wanna hear about it, I can talk about it.
- 33:18I'm gonna move on.
- 33:18But Adempsychiato will cause step 1.
- 33:20So now let's talk about How this primary care shortage is affecting you directly or narrative?
- 33:27This is all the things that I hear from my patients, and I'm sure many of us that are watching this webinar can at least relate to 3 or 2 of this.
- 33:38Again, it doesn't have to be being in a bedded to get a office visit.
- 33:42Like, it it doesn't have to be waiting months to get into your doctors.
- 33:46Could be any of this.
- 33:47And any of this is how this shortage, primary care provider shortage, is affecting you.
- 33:53Shutter visit, AKA 50 minutes or less.
- 33:56There's no way no way I, the doctor, can help you heal your body if I'm only seeing you for 15 minutes.
- 34:03No way.
- 34:04And part of that 15 minutes, I'm flipping the page.
- 34:06I'm looking at at like, I'm little you know, I'm touching this, and I'm doing a quick examination.
- 34:10Next thing you know, I'm out, and I'm giving you a a prescription.
- 34:13There's no way.
- 34:15There's no way.
- 34:15I don't know who that person is.
- 34:17I just met you 15 minutes, and you want me to help you identify them with pause?
- 34:21Hell no.
- 34:21Sorry.
- 34:22No way.
- 34:23High volume patient.
- 34:24Again, we gotta see 20 plus patients in order for us to make money.
- 34:281 doctor.
- 34:2920 plus patients in that 10 hours, right, or 12 hours.
- 34:34And then we have to sit down and chart so that we can submit to the insurance where the insurance is a good job.
- 34:40We'll give you, you know, 200 dollars out of the 400 dollars that you just asked us for.
- 34:44Right?
- 34:45With those visits not being seen or heard, oh my god.
- 34:48How many times you go to the doctor?
- 34:50The doctor's not hearing what you're telling them.
- 34:52You feel like you're not being seen.
- 34:53It's like this doctor doesn't understand.
- 34:55I know something is wrong.
- 34:56You cannot tell me nothing is wrong because the blood test said nothing is wrong.
- 35:01I know my body.
- 35:02Something is well.
- 35:03Right?
- 35:04That's how you're gonna affect it.
- 35:06Because the doctors are thinking about the next patients they need to go see.
- 35:09So, therefore, we gotta hurry up.
- 35:11Let me give you the pill, and then, hopefully, this medication works.
- 35:14If it doesn't work, give me a call.
- 35:16We'll send you another 1.
- 35:17This is true.
- 35:18This is honest this is the truth.
- 35:21Okay.
- 35:22So this is longer waiting period.
- 35:24I have an appointment at 2, and I'm sitting in the lot in the waiting area, and it's 3 o'clock.
- 35:28I'm still not being seen.
- 35:30Right?
- 35:31Patients would tell me they have to completely clear the calendar when they have a doctor's appointment because they'd be waiting for hours.
- 35:38That's my pet peeves.
- 35:39Like, in my clinic, when you have an appointment at 1, you have an appointment at 1.
- 35:42If you're, like, 10 minutes late, we'll reschedule you.
- 35:45Because time is the only thing we cannot get back, my friends.
- 35:49Yesterday was gone.
- 35:51Like, this morning is gone.
- 35:52So if you have an appointment at 2, and there's a reason why you have an appointment, we schedule an appointment.
- 35:58You need to be sent out 3.
- 35:59You need to be sent out 2.
- 36:00If you're not, then something is wrong with this picture.
- 36:02I don't like waiting for 5 minutes, 10 minutes because sometimes I I get, you know, complicated, but that shouldn't be, like, an incur a current issue.
- 36:10So you have an appointment, and it's, like, 30 minutes, you're still sitting there.
- 36:1440 minutes, you're sitting there for and then when you go in, it's 10, 15 minutes and up you go.
- 36:18In that way, we get an appointment.
- 36:20We talk about that medical errors.
- 36:22School.
- 36:22Is the medication you're taking the right medication for you?
- 36:26I don't know.
- 36:26We never identified it with cause.
- 36:28I don't know what's going with you.
- 36:29I misdiagnosed.
- 36:30I'll I'll I'll give you all the medications.
- 36:32I feel for the job satisfaction, depending on insurance to pay for your care.
- 36:37Huge.
- 36:38Huge I told you I was gonna trigger you.
- 36:40Insurance doesn't cover treatment and healing.
- 36:43Right?
- 36:44Insurance covers sickness.
- 36:46Alright.
- 36:47So this is like, you can take a screenshot here.
- 36:49We'll talk about discrimination against other providers, and sometimes patients will call our office about, oh, is she a MD?
- 36:56Is she a deal?
- 36:57I'm like, it doesn't matter.
- 36:59As long as you get the results I should get in, I can be like, uh, whatever.
- 37:02As long as the state recognized my licenses, like, I don't know.
- 37:06Sometimes you are looking for MDs because MDs are the 1 that helps.
- 37:09That's not true.
- 37:10We have some great practitioners, great PAs, NPs, DNP, whatever, page PhD, the, like, pharmacist that are awesome.
- 37:18So do not discriminate because of the title.
- 37:21As long as that person can help you, they give you all the things and take care of it.
- 37:25They listen to you.
- 37:26You get the results.
- 37:27It doesn't matter what they are.
- 37:28Right?
- 37:28As of of course, they have to be practitioner.
- 37:30We don't wanna care about people who have no idea what they're doing.
- 37:33We don't wanna do that, but do not discriminate.
- 37:36Right?
- 37:37Lots of people are going through the emergency room in the urgent care for, primary care issues.
- 37:43That's crazy.
- 37:44Like, if you have a cold, like like, go to your primary care, but people are going to the urgent care for that.
- 37:48If you have your urinary tract infection, you're going to that's primary care issues, And because they can't get an appointment.
- 37:54As more people crowded in the emergency room, the urgent care room, that puts more strength on the health care system and the people that work there.
- 38:01So I remember working at, at the urgent care, and the patient came to us because he needed a refill for his occasion.
- 38:08Ask my medication.
- 38:09Came to us.
- 38:10And I'm like, I'm sorry.
- 38:11You're here for what?
- 38:13I know that we feel of my albuterol.
- 38:15Like, what?
- 38:15Why come where's the primary care?
- 38:18I can't get in.
- 38:19I keep calling.
- 38:20I can't get through.
- 38:21So they're going to the urgent care for me fills of medication.
- 38:25God forbid this patient had an asthma attack, but I can't breathe and keep breathing.
- 38:30That's that's that's that's dangerous.
- 38:32So, like, people with high high blood pressure on on poorly managed high blood pressure are going to the urgent care for the pills because they can't get through.
- 38:40They can't get an apartment.
- 38:42That's that's dangerous.
- 38:43Okay?
- 38:44And another thing that they put in here is lack of education.
- 38:47Because you're not we're not educated on what's going on with our bodies.
- 38:50We don't know how to heal ourselves.
- 38:51We don't know how to carry on with the recommendations.
- 38:54And many people have been being put on medications with no end.
- 38:58And that's 1 thing I tell my patient because I use herbs.
- 39:01I love herbs.
- 39:01I do all things herbs.
- 39:03There's an end to everything.
- 39:05Like, us, we're not here forever.
- 39:07We're gonna die.
- 39:08Right?
- 39:08Like, this is like, we're gonna die.
- 39:10So if you're on a medication, there should be an end to it.
- 39:14But if you are not educated on plan on the other options of things that you can do so so that you can stop the medication.
- 39:20You're gonna continue taking this medication forever and ever and ever and more.
- 39:25Increase the dose.
- 39:26Add more.
- 39:26Move it.
- 39:27Like, At 1 point, this medication is not gonna work.
- 39:30Your body's gonna get used to it.
- 39:32So how are you affected by the shortage?
- 39:34All this.
- 39:36This is how you, your parents, your family, your loved ones is affected by the shortage.
- 39:42I have more than 15 here.
- 39:44Again, if you really sit with yourself, we'll be like, okay, doctor Jay.
- 39:47Let me see.
- 39:47Let me see this list.
- 39:48Yeah.
- 39:49Mhmm.
- 39:49Mhmm.
- 39:50I've seen so many referrals.
- 39:51I keep they keep sending me to all the third.
- 39:53I'm seeing the GI doctor, the cardiologist, and the gut like, all the doctors.
- 39:58Right?
- 39:59I've been on this medication for more than 3 weeks.
- 40:01I don't like it, but they said there's no choice.
- 40:04Like, you have an autoimmune.
- 40:05Autoimmune, you're gonna have a full rest of your life.
- 40:07Let me give you immunosuppressant.
- 40:08Let's put your immune Come to sleep so that you can get, you know, a virus and be you know, have an infection.
- 40:15Dangerous.
- 40:15Dangerous.
- 40:16Dangerous.
- 40:16Dangerous.
- 40:17Alright.
- 40:17So let's talk about the solution.
- 40:20Ah, this is what you guys want.
- 40:21The solution.
- 40:22We're getting in, getting, to to the end.
- 40:25This is the solution.
- 40:27My friend, wherever you are on this journey, I don't know many of you guys.
- 40:31It's my first time meeting you.
- 40:33I know some of my patients are here.
- 40:34You got to embrace natural, functional, holistic medicine.
- 40:39You have to.
- 40:40This is old medicine.
- 40:42This is what our ancestors was doing.
- 40:45This is the only way you're gonna identify the root cause.
- 40:48Primary care do not identify the root cause.
- 40:51I mean, anytime you have stomach issues, you do endoscopy, Could be everything is normal.
- 40:54What do you mean it's normal?
- 40:55But I have pain.
- 40:56I drink water.
- 40:57It hurts.
- 40:58Right?
- 40:58Like, I have gastritis.
- 40:59I think I have an ulcer with the you know, like, with the, everything is normal.
- 41:03Because identifying what causes a mean looking at the, uh, uh, the superficial layer.
- 41:08You gotta go deep.
- 41:09Deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep.
- 41:11Okay?
- 41:12So that's step 1.
- 41:13The second step, know yourself.
- 41:15Know yourself.
- 41:16Know who you are, What gives you health?
- 41:19I give you stress that you need to know your body.
- 41:22Because every single day, your body's communicating with you everyday.
- 41:26And sometimes we just ignore the communication system.
- 41:29We just numb it.
- 41:30We're too busy.
- 41:31Right?
- 41:32Know yourself.
- 41:33When you know yourself, not only you can help you, you can help your doctor.
- 41:36It is a beautiful, beautiful thing when my when my patients come to my clinic.
- 41:40They be like, doctor Jay, I eat pasta.
- 41:43I'm bloated.
- 41:44Oh, okay.
- 41:45Doctor j, I used to eat watermelon.
- 41:48Nothing happened to me.
- 41:49Now I eat watermelon.
- 41:50I'm allergic to it.
- 41:52Why is it banana?
- 41:53Why is it blueberries?
- 41:54Like, everything.
- 41:55Like, literally, because how do you how do they know that?
- 41:57Because they pay attention to what's going on.
- 42:00I tell my patients, and I'm gonna tell you, that symptoms are signs from God.
- 42:07It's the way your body communicate with you.
- 42:10Nobody goes to Walmart to purchase 5 dollars high blood pressure.
- 42:15Nobody does.
- 42:15If you have high blood pressure, think about it.
- 42:18High pressure blood from your heart.
- 42:21Something is interfering With your heart pumping the blood so that the system is it's, meeting resistance and the the pressure's increasing.
- 42:29What is that something?
- 42:30That's when you you go to identify the root cause.
- 42:34But if you don't know yourself, you don't know what makes you sick, What heals you, the triggers, the new 1, know how to get help, and doctors cannot help you.
- 42:43Right?
- 42:43So you and then another thing too, you have to control another system.
- 42:47This is huge.
- 42:48Every time you feel something, you run to your doctor or you run to urgent care, emergency room, you're not controlling your nervous system.
- 42:54They're They're just gonna have you sit there, and then they're gonna tell you to follow-up with your doctor.
- 42:57They'll do nothing for you.
- 42:59So when you feel symptoms, take a deep breath, step back.
- 43:03Okay?
- 43:03If you have to take a Tylenol, do it, and then sit back.
- 43:07What did I do?
- 43:0824 hours quiet today.
- 43:09I didn't have the symptoms.
- 43:11What did I eat?
- 43:13What did I like, there's always there's the answers there.
- 43:16But if you panic and, oh my god, master make it sudden.
- 43:18Oh my god.
- 43:19I think I have kids that like, you panic and you don't you go on back to Google and you do all these things, And you're not controlling nervous system, you'll never find the answer.
- 43:27You got to control nervous system.
- 43:29If you have a heart attack, please go to the emergency room.
- 43:31If you're having a stroke, go to the emergency room.
- 43:33But everything else that you experience in your body, you can find this the answer, the triggers.
- 43:40You can write it down and take it to your doctor's office and say, listen.
- 43:43On Wednesday, I was fine.
- 43:45Now it's Thursday, I'm sick.
- 43:47And before I was sick, I did this and this and this and this and this.
- 43:50Right?
- 43:50And the doctors will be like, oh, okay.
- 43:52Well, let's track back.
- 43:53Let's look at this.
- 43:54Let's look at chat.
- 43:55Right?
- 43:55And then a you have to have that mindset.
- 43:58Right?
- 43:59Believe that you can heal yourself.
- 44:00Your body is always working for you.
- 44:02Your body is not broken.
- 44:04Your body loves you.
- 44:07And the healing that you're looking for is out there.
- 44:10Because sometimes we are 1 minded.
- 44:13Like, we are, like, 1 way or the highway.
- 44:15Like, I don't believe in functional medicine.
- 44:17Those herbs don't work.
- 44:18This is voodoo medicine.
- 44:19Right?
- 44:20I'm just gonna just go to my doctor, and I'm just gonna do what the doctor says.
- 44:23I'm gonna take all the pills.
- 44:24That is poor mindset.
- 44:26That is not a worth mindset.
- 44:27That is not a healing mindset.
- 44:29And sometimes we're on this journey.
- 44:30We're seeing so many doctors wanna give up.
- 44:32Don't give up.
- 44:33There's a doctor out there for you.
- 44:36Because if you give up, what they are what is the alternative?
- 44:39Right?
- 44:40Do not give up.
- 44:41Always keep looking.
- 44:42Keep searching.
- 44:43Keep hope alive.
- 44:44Believe that you're gonna get a solution.
- 44:46You gotta trust yourself.
- 44:48If you go into a doctor's office and you go resonate with what it's saying.
- 44:51Even with me, you're not into alignment.
- 44:53Something isn't just not right.
- 44:55Like, I don't know what she's talking about.
- 44:57Trust yourself.
- 44:58Trust your intuition.
- 44:59This is not for you.
- 45:00Right?
- 45:01You shouldn't be fighting and resist something that works for you, that is for you.
- 45:05Another thing too, habits, lifestyle habits, that Literally, you can start with this tomorrow, where in your life you can make changes right now.
- 45:14If you have a sugar cravings, what can you do about the sugar cravings?
- 45:18Right?
- 45:18If you want to lose weight, what can you do about losing weight?
- 45:21Can you start walking maybe 3, 4 times a week?
- 45:24Can Can you look at your diet and remove, like, you know, some of the grains?
- 45:28Right?
- 45:28We'll be, like, doing intermittent fasting.
- 45:31There's always something you can you can do right now.
- 45:34Right?
- 45:34So at as the world begins to change, the 1 thing That would ensure your success is habits.
- 45:41They have companion effect.
- 45:43Right?
- 45:431 little tiny habits, you keep repeating it.
- 45:46You can say, well, you know what?
- 45:47Every every 3 days, I'm gonna eat more greens.
- 45:50Right?
- 45:50If I if I love rice.
- 45:52Right?
- 45:52I'm not a rice person, and rice is very toxic to your body.
- 45:57I'm gonna I'm gonna eat rice 3 times a week only.
- 46:00The other the other times, I'm just gonna eat more vegetables, more greens.
- 46:03So these are habits that we can incorporate today that's gonna successfully help you, keep you out of the doctor's office.
- 46:09Right?
- 46:10Uh, or as you're waiting to get into your doctor's office, you're gonna start the healing process.
- 46:15Now this thing right here is my it's It's I felt like everybody needs a detox.
- 46:20Like, many of us are holding on to toxins from 19 50.
- 46:23You, me, everybody, this is detox.
- 46:263 times per year.
- 46:28We live in a toxic world.
- 46:30The medication we're taking is toxic.
- 46:32The food has herbicides, pesticides.
- 46:35This, you need to do 3 times per year.
- 46:37Everybody, mister here.
- 46:39Okay?
- 46:40And, of course, you gotta incorporate some herbs.
- 46:41Like, there's no healing without herbs.
- 46:43I I don't care what anybody says.
- 46:44Again, this is what our ancestors used to do.
- 46:46They used to go in the backyard, get some bush, do some concoction, pour some hot water and give it to you, and the next thing you know, you're healed.
- 46:54Well, you know what I mean?
- 46:55You feel better.
- 46:56You gotta have herbs.
- 46:58There's an herb for every single condition out there.
- 47:01If you're trying to lose weight, there's an herb for that.
- 47:04If you're trying to maintain your diabetes or high blood pressure, there's an herb for that.
- 47:08I use herbs primarily in my practice, and I'm telling you this for every single condition.
- 47:14And sometimes because we're looking for research Oh, we're listening to other people's, you know, like, whatever.
- 47:19This, education, they don't it's not telling the information.
- 47:22We kinda close our eyes on this natural resource that was created long before we existed.
- 47:29We don't pay we don't pay attention to it.
- 47:32There's herbs for everything.
- 47:33I take people off medications with herbs.
- 47:35And my patients would tell you to even to Google or they send us messages.
- 47:40There's an herb herb for everything.
- 47:42Yes.
- 47:42You can take the medication, but can you also substitute 1 of those pills with the herbs?
- 47:47Alright?
- 47:47And And then, of course, you have to have relationship with your doctor.
- 47:50There's no healing if you can't have access to your doctor.
- 47:52Like, there's no healing.
- 47:53Like, you really have to have relationship to your doctor.
- 47:56Right?
- 47:57And detachment from the insurance, use the insurance for what it is.
- 48:00If the insurance can only be a portion of your visit, then you use that be grateful.
- 48:03This is what they can pay for.
- 48:05But if you're like, oh, I have the best insurance that covers everything.
- 48:08You don't take insurance, then I'm not I'm not coming to your practice.
- 48:12So are you happy with what the insurance is compensating right now?
- 48:16If you are, if you're happy with the care and they only pay for, like, you know, 1 doctor's office, 15 minutes, that's fine.
- 48:22But you need to use your insurance for what it is what it offers.
- 48:26That's my thing with insurance.
- 48:27And now as Maddie's gonna go through it, you're gonna see all the limitations now.
- 48:32And, again, if you really look at your insurance, did they cover everything?
- 48:36If they covered everything of the doctor's office, are you getting the will are you getting to the root cause of the problem?
- 48:41Are you getting, the result and the solution?
- 48:44Because if the if the doctor's doing the basic just to get insurance reimbursement, they're not really treating you the way you wanna be treated.
- 48:51It's not happening.
- 48:52Because I know when I used to practice, I know there are certain things lab test insurance would not pay for, I did not prescribe.
- 48:59I'm like, oh, CBC, CNP.
- 49:01Let's do lipids.
- 49:02That's it.
- 49:03Because I know insurance will pay for that.
- 49:05But now what about insulin?
- 49:07What about your thyroid antibodies?
- 49:08What about your anti inflammatory markers?
- 49:10Insurance will not pay for that, so I don't put it in there.
- 49:13And then you come back to me and say, well, doctor Jay, everything is normal, but I feel like crap.
- 49:17I'm like, Insurance doesn't pay, so I'm not prescribing.
- 49:20So use it for what it is.
- 49:22And then also aim for cellular healing to this.
- 49:25So this is what you can do.
- 49:26This is a simple solution.
- 49:28It is very simple, my friend.
- 49:30Very simple.
- 49:31There's nothing complicated here.
- 49:33It might look complex to you, but I'm telling you.
- 49:36It's just a mindset.
- 49:37We have to reprogram our mind.
- 49:39Right?
- 49:40Open to the idea and the opportunities that Healing is possible for you, if that's what you want in 20 24.
- 49:48If not, then you can continue on your journey and do what's best for you.
- 49:52But healing is possible for you.
- 49:53Because medications are not magic bullets.
- 49:56They don't fix anything.
- 49:57They add to it.
- 49:59So really quickly, this is a, difference between conventional and functional.
- 50:03Right?
- 50:04Conventional, where we are, 90 percent of the population is right here.
- 50:09And this is what happened unconventional.
- 50:12And this is functional.
- 50:13Alright?
- 50:14Alright.
- 50:15We're gonna move on.
- 50:16So it's 7 o'clock.
- 50:18Okay.
- 50:18So our approach because as I mentioned at the beginning, I'm gonna tell you what we are doing to contribute to this solution.
- 50:25So back months ago, even last year, I created a term called confunctional medicine.
- 50:31Okay?
- 50:31Confunctional medicine is conventional meat functional functional medicine.
- 50:37You've if you Google it, it's not gonna happen.
- 50:39And it is not holistic it is not integrative medicine Because the difference between the good of medicine is like is that the doctors are giving you supplements, but they can still prescribe.
- 50:49With confunctional medicine, we still have longer visits.
- 50:52As a matter of fact, we're doing more now.
- 50:54Right?
- 50:55Because before, we're doing physical exam.
- 50:57We're doing that now.
- 50:58That's the conventional piece.
- 50:59We're listening to your heart.
- 51:00We're checking your blood pressure.
- 51:02Right?
- 51:02We're listening to your alums.
- 51:03We're looking in your mouth.
- 51:05Like, all the the things that your primary care doctor will do, we do that now in our office.
- 51:09And then but the goal is always, always, always, always, always to listen to your story, making you feel seen and heard.
- 51:16Take the time with you, not rush.
- 51:19When you are in our office, time stops.
- 51:22Right?
- 51:22Sometimes I go, but I'm like, oh my god.
- 51:24It's an hour.
- 51:25Because we are having powerful conversation that we need to have in order for you to get killed.
- 51:31Okay?
- 51:32And we still focus on identifying the root cause.
- 51:35Step 1.
- 51:36Step 1.
- 51:37Right?
- 51:38And then, of course, we put you back at the driver's seat of your house because you own your house.
- 51:43Adult.
- 51:43I don't live in your body.
- 51:44I don't live with you.
- 51:45I just met you for however long I'm meeting you.
- 51:47You live with your body.
- 51:49You know when your body is happy, When it's angry, when it's not functioning properly, you get to, like, fill the fill.
- 51:56And then, of course, we decide.
- 51:57Right?
- 51:58Now we have simpler, packets, programs in our practice.
- 52:01Right?
- 52:02protocols.
- 52:02Before we used to put patients in 2 or 1 program, they got the cluttering, And maybe the wait last night will give you options because I know we are meeting people at different time in the financial, you know, lives.
- 52:13So we're gonna make sure that you have you have something for everyone.
- 52:16And then now, what something we started doing, we hired a company to submit on your behalf.
- 52:22Because 1 thing I have to tell you, I don't like I don't want, the insurance company to tell me how to take care of you.
- 52:28I don't want the insurance company to tell me how to take care of you and how much time I need to spend with you.
- 52:32Because I don't want you to come into our space and for us to render the same care you've been, you know, you you've been accustomed to or you receive from other doctors.
- 52:41So we hired a company.
- 52:42We pay.
- 52:43We pay with our money to submit on your behalf.
- 52:46So when you call our office to schedule an appointment, which I'm gonna ask Marilyn to drop the link if you're interested or you know someone that might be interested in confunctional medicine.
- 52:56send them our way.
- 52:57But when you schedule an appointment, Marilyn's gonna ask for your insurance information, and then Marilyn's going to submit on your behalf.
- 53:04And then she's gonna come back with the information, deductibles and in and out of network, and it's gonna give you some things that you're probably not aware of because we all think we have the best insurance when in fact that's not true.
- 53:17And then you get to the side.
- 53:18Right?
- 53:19But we submit on your behalf.
- 53:21So you pay us, and and then the insurance will send you whatever it takes you are deemed to receive.
- 53:26Alright?
- 53:27But, again, it's all about you.
- 53:29I don't want any interference when it comes to helping you.

- 53:52Now I put this right here because this this lady right here, she didn't give me permission to, you know, put her name.
- 53:58But this is what she sent us because I like, my patients are so grateful for the work that we do.
- 54:04Alright.
- 54:05As you can see, and she said, hopefully, I can see you.
- 54:08You don't understand how much of an impact you have made on me you have made on me.
- 54:13I really appreciate you.
- 54:14You are my inspiration.
- 54:16I know I never told you that.
- 54:18You are.
- 54:19This is so powerful.
- 54:20Simple words goes a long way.
- 54:22alright.
- 54:23So this approach works.
- 54:25This is we had so many reviews.
- 54:27You can go on Google if you still like, oh, I don't know who she is.
- 54:30I don't know if she's, you know, legit.
- 54:32We are legit.
- 54:33We've been doing this for 7 years, Uh, but we also get tons of, inform like, staff from our patients.
- 54:40They will send us messages to our HIPAA compliance portal.
- 54:43As you can see, this is a few of them because this approach works.
- 54:46It is simple, effective, and you get results.
- 54:49Right?
- 54:49This patient is trying to lose weight.
- 54:51She went from 2 15 to 1 84.
- 54:53This is a short amount of time, though.
- 54:55And, of course, with the this celebration we received.
- 54:59Now 1 thing I have to tell you, once people come in our world, they never leave, which is a beautiful thing.
- 55:06Like, people will send us messages, like, from years.
- 55:08Like, oh, doctor Jay, I just want to to run this by you.
- 55:11I just want to see how you think about this.
- 55:13So this right here is a patient who would help a long time ago.
- 55:17I made some recommendations, some suggestions, and now she We can't find the milk, and she reached out to us.
- 55:22And she said, hope all is good.
- 55:25Hope all is going well with you this new year.
- 55:27I know it has been a while.
- 55:29Still going slow with all the nutrition and healthy eating.
- 55:32You set path for me, which not you as you guided me on a number of healthy choices.
- 55:39Right?
- 55:39So, again, we give our patients everything they need.
- 55:42They have the tools and the resources for them to continue on this journey, and that's what functional medicines.
- 55:48We identify the root cause.
- 55:49You you know, we give you all your options.
- 55:52You lay it out.
- 55:53You get to choose.
- 55:54You make the final decisions.
- 55:55You receive the level of care that you you deserve or you need or you requested, and then you go on this journey.
- 56:01So you're never alone.
- 56:02You're never by yourself.
- 56:03Right?
- 56:04Again, if you feel like this is a good fit, like, okay.
- 56:07I'm interested.
- 56:08I wanna know what this is all about.
- 56:10Schedule an appointment.
- 56:11I can't wait wait wait to talk to you because I want you to really benefit this.
- 56:16All the things that this shortage is created for us.
- 56:20I don't want you to be, like, a victim.
- 56:21Not a victim.
- 56:22That's a bad word.
- 56:22I don't want you to I don't want you to expose to this because I know there are solutions for you, and you can do so much so so well If you were to have the tools and the resources, and I wanna provide that with you.
- 56:34Okay.
- 56:34So I ask that you share, this information with all the people you know, and I, you know, love to assist you on your healing journey.
- 56:42Now I'm done talking.
- 56:43I'm gonna go to see I'm gonna go see if we have any.
- 56:46Leticia says, that was me.
- 56:48I still fell this way.
- 56:49Uh, I miss you.
- 56:51okay.
- 56:51Need to have more time.
- 56:53Yeah.
- 56:53Of course.
- 56:54So I have a 2 hours in my primary care to go to doctor who take insurance, has posted long notes tonight quarter.
- 57:01Oh, that's not good.
- 57:02I've asked for sick appointment and was told I must do a virtual appointment first.
- 57:08I was sick.
- 57:09Finally was able to go in, and she did not take my vitals or anything.
- 57:14Did not take my temperature, did not listen to my chest.
- 57:17Nothing along this line.
- 57:18Tested me for COVID and flu, and that was it.
- 57:21I I had was confused.
- 57:23I know it's it's again, it's not just you.
- 57:26You're not alone.
- 57:27Everybody.
- 57:28Like, a lot of people experiencing this.
- 57:30You are not alone.
- 57:31I would love to say, well, it's just you.
- 57:33It's not.
- 57:34And that's why we need to have this conversation so that you can see that you and some other people are facing the same, and we need to do something about it.
- 57:43Alright?
- 57:43Okay.
- 57:43Cool.
- 57:44So I'm gonna pass it along to Marilyn who's gonna talk to us about insurance.
- 57:48Marilyn, you have a Hi, Tell me Hi, everyone.
- 57:51Can can you guys see me?
- 57:54I can see you, and I can hear you.
- 57:56Perfect.
- 57:57Perfect.
- 57:57I have to say, doctor Gentry, that you hit a lot of the pinpoints because not only I've noticed that there's a shortage of medical providers, But it's also happened for pediatrician because my daughter, Ashley, is been trying to get an appointment for my granddaughter.
- 58:12Call.
- 58:12And she's called and hasn't gotten any response to try to get an appointment for her.
- 58:18So it's happening with children also.
- 58:20Wow.
- 58:21Okay.
- 58:21I mean, again, this is this is and I and, again, it's not to put fear into you.
- 58:26Right?
- 58:27As you deserve the care that you deserve.
- 58:29Because if you don't have the care, how are you supposed to function?
- 58:31Right?
- 58:32And it is oh, wow.
- 58:34Wow.
- 58:34That's Yeah.
- 58:36So I I'm gonna go a little bit over the insurance, in reference to, in network and out of network.
- 58:42So, basically, in network means that it's the doctor has a contract with the insurance company.
- 58:49So if you want to be able To use your insurance, full benefits of the other insurance, you have to make sure that the doctor participate with the insurance company.
- 58:59And that is at a reduced rate in which the visits are shorter, and the doctors are not really spending so much time with the patient.
- 59:07Now I am noticing and out of network is that you do have the option to go out of network.
- 59:13And when you go out of network for providers, There will be a deductible that you'll be responsible for.
- 59:19But as I've been working with insurance for over 20 something years, I'm noticing that Every single year, the insurance the deductibles are getting higher, and now you are having I'm seeing that patients are receiving they're also having in network deductibles.
- 59:38So that means In network deductible is basically means that that's what you're responsible for to pay out of your pocket Before the insurance covers for anything.
- 59:49Okay?
- 59:50and I like I for example, for myself, I have Aetna insurance.
- 59:55I have the option to go in and out of network.
- 59:57I don't use my in network benefits Because I've noticed that the doctors that I went to in network, there was longer period waiting time.
- 1:00:06So I choose to go use my out of network benefits and pay out of pocket because I'm getting the care that I'm looking for.
- 1:00:13So you have the options Choose to be able to do that, but I'm noticing that there are the in, deductibles that are going in network and also out of network.
- 1:00:23I'm also noticing that what's the difference between deductibles and premiums?
- 1:00:27Okay.
- 1:00:28Premiums is what you as the insurers pay to have that type of insurance.
- 1:00:33It could be HMO, EPO, commercial, or even Medicare.
- 1:00:38You pay that premium.
- 1:00:40Okay.
- 1:00:40That's what you're responsible for on a monthly basis to have insurance coverage.
- 1:00:45The doctor's is What you pay to go see a provider, and they're both are now in network and out of network.
- 1:00:54So when you go in network, your deductible might be a little lower.
- 1:00:58And you go out of network, your deductible might be a little Hi.
- 1:01:01But no matter which way you go, you're always gonna have something to pay out of pocket.
- 1:01:05So you can't really depend too much on insurance when you're looking for your health, when you're working To heal yourself.
- 1:01:11Okay?
- 1:01:13But let me ask you, Marilyn.
- 1:01:14So deductible that means if I have out of network insurance, and my deductible is 4000 dollars.
- 1:01:20What does that mean?
- 1:01:21That means that you're gonna be paying that you have to pay that 4000 dollars in medical expenses before the pays for anything.
- 1:01:28They're not gonna pay.
- 1:01:29It's just whatever the cost of office visit is, it's gonna be applied.
- 1:01:33And that's to the insurance company if they apply because they have to they have rules and regulations that they go by guidelines that they're gonna review or to see if it's medical necessity to be able to be applied.
- 1:01:46So you're basically paying still out of your pocket.
- 1:01:50And I'm noticing that What it is is that with the insurance company, the lower the premiums are, the higher the deductibles are.
- 1:01:59Okay.
- 1:01:59And when you get when you pay for when you have a premium that you pay Yeah.
- 1:02:05When you have a and I'm so sorry.
- 1:02:07When you pay for a premium that's lower, you have, uh, a higher deductible, and it's vice versa.
- 1:02:15The higher the deductible is, the lower the premium is.
- 1:02:18So it's a monopoly with the insurance company.
- 1:02:21So they're gonna get you 1 way or the other, which I've been seeing of deductibles of 8000 dollars that patient has to pay.
- 1:02:30That's money coming out of your pocket besides the premium that you pay on a monthly basis.
- 1:02:35Mhmm.
- 1:02:36So you're gonna pay either in network or out of network.
- 1:02:39So either way, you're still paying.
- 1:02:40Whether you're in network and out of network.
- 1:02:42Mhmm.
- 1:02:43And that's what has happening.
- 1:02:44That's happening a lot with insurance companies.
- 1:02:47Can you tell us the deal with Medicare?
- 1:02:49Because I'm seeing that many providers are not accepting Medicare anymore.
- 1:02:53Like, what's the deal with Medicare?
- 1:02:55Well, Medicare Medicare, sir, insurance is gov is state government.
- 1:02:59It's sponsored by the state government.
- 1:03:02So what's happening is that the reimbursement for Medicare when it comes to a provider is not sufficient.
- 1:03:09I could give you an example that for working at a chiropractor's office that the patient the deduct they had a deductible that they had they were responsible for.
- 1:03:20And the deductible, I recall when I started working 20 years ago, it was 50 dollars.
- 1:03:24And now before I stopped working at the chiropractor, it was 240 dollars.
- 1:03:28I don't know what it is within this year.
- 1:03:31Patient Medicare patients will still have to pay for that deductible.
- 1:03:34Then the reimbursement back to the doctor for the, for the visit was, like, 20 something dollars.
- 1:03:40So that means that The provider has to have a a lux amount of patients coming in, like doctor mentioned before, In order to be able to make the income.
- 1:03:52So you tell me that that chiropractor was gonna be 20 dollars.
- 1:03:5728.
- 1:03:57Yep.
- 1:03:57It was 20 dollars.
- 1:03:58They pay 80 percent of whatever the allowable amount was.
- 1:04:02Because the thing is that with the insurance company is is that When you're in network, there's a contract rate that should you you as a doctor agree to accept.
- 1:04:13And that could be 20 dollars, and then they'll pay only 80 percent of 20 dollars.
- 1:04:18So if you do the math there, you have to see you'll say, like, I have to see this amount of people in order to be able to make anything, and it's getting worse, actually.
- 1:04:28It's I'm I'm seeing deductibles that are ridiculous call.
- 1:04:3125000 dollars.
- 1:04:33That's true.
- 1:04:34Because since we started, submitting on our patient's behalf, I know you've been coming to meeting, letting me know.
- 1:04:39This patient has a 8000 deductible, 5000 deductible.
- 1:04:42Well, this is outrageous, so you have to pay 8000 before the insurance can kick in.
- 1:04:47Insurance and then there's rules there might be regulations because by the time that you meet that deductible, I call it a double whammy.
- 1:04:56You have you pay for your premium.
- 1:04:59Okay?
- 1:04:59On top of that, you have your deductible that you have to pay out of pocket before the insurance company pays.
- 1:05:04But sometimes what I noticed that with the insurance company is that they'll put a number of visits, office visits.
- 1:05:09They'll say, okay.
- 1:05:10You only allow 20 visits, 30 visits.
- 1:05:12By the time you meet that deductible, you already used up your insurance.
- 1:05:17So guess what?
- 1:05:18Nothing's getting paid by the insurance company.
- 1:05:20Site.
- 1:05:21It'll be the end of the year, and then it starts all over again.
- 1:05:24It starts all over again.
- 1:05:26The only way that you're able to meet high deductible Is if something something tragic happens to you that you get to go in a hospital or an accident, That's the only way that you'll meet a deductible.
- 1:05:38But prior to that, you I've never see I haven't had patients make deductible, 8000 dollar deductible, 10000 even 5000 dollar deductible without having some type of tracking Tragic to be able for them to meet that deductible.
- 1:05:51I'm not I I'm hoping I'm not getting no 1 confused.
- 1:05:54No.
- 1:05:54You're not.
- 1:05:55But let me let me ask you a question because I know we had a patient the other day that came to us.
- 1:05:59She mentioned that she went to see her doctor, and then she gave her doctor her insurance information.
- 1:06:04They submitted it to the insurance, and then she ended up with the bill.
- 1:06:08What is that about?
- 1:06:10So sometimes what it is is that, the insurance company even though that the doctor participate, if the insurance company feels that that's not I consider medical necessity.
- 1:06:18They'll hold the patient responsible for that amount, the amount of visits.
- 1:06:22So if the doctor visit was 200, A hundred and 50.
- 1:06:26And then the insurance say, okay.
- 1:06:27You know what?
- 1:06:28No.
- 1:06:28I'm not gonna be you know, I don't consider this to be medical necessity.
- 1:06:32By their guidelines, they're gonna say, okay.
- 1:06:34Patient's responsible for that.
- 1:06:36Wow.
- 1:06:36Okay.
- 1:06:37So that's that's what's going on.
- 1:06:39Okay.
- 1:06:39So then what is the true goal of insurance company.
- 1:06:42The true goal of the insurance company, and I say, is that they wanna keep us sick And prescription and and pharmaceuticals part of it is just to give more, medications And not truly to heal anyone.
- 1:06:55Yeah.
- 1:06:56I mean, it's not anyone.
- 1:06:58Again, it it is just that's the that's the fact But I would wanna, you know, accept it or not.
- 1:07:03Because if the insurance if you pay insurance company and you wanna go see a doctor, then you should be able that doctor should be able to truly spend time with you to identify the problem so that you can get the results other solutions, the treatments, the care issue.
- 1:07:20But if the doctor cannot spend the amount of time with you and the insurance is, you know, forcing this doctor to just do things in a hurry.
- 1:07:28How much killing is gonna take place?
- 1:07:31So I'm waiting for it to be consistent.
- 1:07:32Not at all.
- 1:07:33Not at all.
- 1:07:34Because it's you mentioned it earlier that The insurance company when doctors participate with insurance company, they have a restrict it's not a restriction, but you can't You have to document.
- 1:07:48You're doing more paperwork than spending the time with the patient.
- 1:07:52Yeah.
- 1:07:52I remember when I used to work at the chiropractic office.
- 1:07:54Remember how you used to come to me and I have to be on the phone fighting for the patients because they're denied?
- 1:08:00They just have to be honest.
- 1:08:01Mhmm.
- 1:08:01Your patient need this.
- 1:08:02You cannot deny the services.
- 1:08:04I I was literally on the phone fighting.
- 1:08:07No.
- 1:08:07How how come you don't even know the person.
- 1:08:10Right?
- 1:08:10You know this person by, like, you know, uh, plan, uh, an ID number.
- 1:08:14But this patient literally need the services.
- 1:08:17You cannot deny oh my god.
- 1:08:19So the way that the insurance come the way that the The billing comes in is that if you receive a service, the cost of, say, is 210 dollars.
- 1:08:30That Office visit can be submitted to the insurance company as long as you have out of network benefits.
- 1:08:35But if you have a deductible, that's amount of money.
- 1:08:39Depending on what the rules and regulation of the insurance company, they could apply that full 210 dollars to the deductible.
- 1:08:47Sometimes what they do is that they don't do that.
- 1:08:49They feel like, okay.
- 1:08:50We're gonna reduce the 2 10 to maybe 80 dollars, and that's what we're gonna apply towards the deductible.
- 1:08:57Yeah.
- 1:08:58Yeah.
- 1:08:58And then Which is They the patient will be responsible for the difference no matter which way you're paying for the inch You're paying, and insurance is a monopoly.
- 1:09:07Yeah.
- 1:09:07If at any point you went to your doctors and you got a bill, that's the reason.
- 1:09:12Mhmm.
- 1:09:12And I ended up getting a bell.
- 1:09:14I know you were telling me that.
- 1:09:15If you go to your doctors and, you'll see in network treatments, and you're not happy.
- 1:09:20Again, in network is I think it's more like quantity over quality.
- 1:09:24It's like, let's see how many patients we can see in 1 hour and 1 day.
- 1:09:28This is like, okay.
- 1:09:28Let's see the the quality of care we can provide for that patient in 1 hour or in 1 day.
- 1:09:35So in network, it's like more like how would I say the Walmart?
- 1:09:38Is that Walmart?
- 1:09:39I'm talking about Walmart.
- 1:09:40Yeah.
- 1:09:40In network is more like, okay.
- 1:09:42Come.
- 1:09:42Come.
- 1:09:42Come.
- 1:09:43We spend 5 minutes with you, and and we just did the basic.
- 1:09:46This is, out of network, it's actually being higher, but still, the doctor can spend longer time, still 15 or 30 minutes, But maybe they can ideally slightly different than in network.
- 1:09:57That's what I've noticed.
- 1:09:58Mhmm.
- 1:09:58But even though I've I've noticed from my own experience That me using my out of network, benefits, when I went to my, gynecologist, I only stood I waited in the office maybe about 10 minutes before seeing him, which was okay.
- 1:10:14Uh, but when it came to the visit, it was just basic Basic, then less than 25 minutes I was with him.
- 1:10:22So that's happening even though out of network.
- 1:10:24Yeah.
- 1:10:25I mean, obviously, 25 minutes.
- 1:10:26That's not bad.
- 1:10:28Mhmm.
- 1:10:29Still not enough, but it's still not enough.
- 1:10:31Be able to.
- 1:10:32Mhmm.
- 1:10:33Yeah.
- 1:10:3450 minutes.
- 1:10:34Awesome.
- 1:10:35So that's why I tell patients, you are the doctor of the future.
- 1:10:38And I know sometimes it's care.
- 1:10:40Right?
- 1:10:40I don't know what I'm doing.
- 1:10:41I'm not the expert.
- 1:10:42Again, You should know enough to go to your doctor and tell them what's going on or what happened for them to help you.
- 1:10:48I'm not saying for you to just completely take care of the issues that could be, like, dangerous.
- 1:10:52I'm not saying that.
- 1:10:53But you should know enough things that happen into your body to communicate and verbalize that to your doctor.
- 1:10:59So you are the doctor of the future.
- 1:11:01Right?
- 1:11:02Once you have the proper education, the system, the processes that you know exactly what you need to do, as I outlined here.
- 1:11:09Right?
- 1:11:09You do all these things here.
- 1:11:11There's no way you're not gonna feel better.
- 1:11:12If you focus on detoxifying your body 3 times per year, And then you find you some good herbs, whatever condition or symptoms that you are faced with.
- 1:11:21If you are sick all the time, we need to boost your immune system.
- 1:11:23There are wonderful herbs out there for immune system.
- 1:11:26Right?
- 1:11:27If you need to control your nervous system, you get anxiety a lot.
- 1:11:30You get depression a lot, and you don't want to take the Xanax or the, you know, Adivan, diconopine, or whatever they prescribing out there.
- 1:11:38Let's suppose.
- 1:11:38Then I'm telling you, there are some good supplements and good herbs for anxiety and depression.
- 1:11:43If you cannot sleep, right, you have insomnia.
- 1:11:46Let's look at your hormones.
- 1:11:47Let's also look at GABA.
- 1:11:48Let's look at so many there's so many things you can do, right, for you to get back to sleep.
- 1:11:55So you can literally help yourself, so you can help your doctor as well so that you can get the health and the body that you you're looking for and the body that you'll drive it.
- 1:12:06Alright?
- 1:12:06So I know we are over time.
- 1:12:09So a question.
- 1:12:09Thank you, Marilyn.
- 1:12:11You're welcome.
- 1:12:12Alright.
- 1:12:12If you guys have any questions with an answer here, you can send them over to info.
- 1:12:17We had to have that in the chat for me.
