- Forged In The Dark: I recently had a conversation that was so beautiful and so divinely aligned, there was no way that I wasn't going to share some of the findings I pulled four things from our conversation that I'm going to share with you today. Welcome to Forged in the Dark. I'm your host, Jamie. Let's dig in. Now, right from the very, very beginning of this conversation, I knew it was going to be something special because when they placed their order, they didn't even order coffee. And I had already selected in my head the exact same thing. So we got our matching beverages and and we found a spot under these beautiful trees. And we dug in. To what was the best, conversation that I had last week? A conversation about growth and healing and adversity and the sanctity of the inner circle and finding joy from where you are right now, and how you don't need the whole picture to take the next step, and the ladder and the light. Now, the sanctity of the inner circle. not Every person comes with the same assets, the same gifts, the same challenges, the same willingness to reciprocate. And here's the thing they I talk about this often. On the growth journey, it can be isolating and it can get lonely, no matter what you're scaling yourself as a human, a business, probably both. my gosh, that was probably the best thing that I'm not talking about today is when you want to grow your business, grow yourself and watch your business grow. But I also don't want to get sidetracked and derailed from these key points. I am not in intentionally planting seeds of doubt for your friends, for your family. But when it comes to your inner circle, the ones you share your big ideas with, the ones that that sees multiple different facets of you, not just the public front, the real you, you must have people around you that are also. Building and healing and growing. You must surround yourself with people that not only can hold your vision with you, but are more than happy to give you some rocket fuel. Or or maybe you have the rocket fuel, maybe you need my fire. What I know is we both walked away from this conversation. Feeling seen and heard and understood and supported. It was insane how pretty much every topic of conversation we were completely in line in line with. It is crazy how for our entire lives we've been told to grow thicker skins and we've been told to. Keep people close just because we've known them the longest. And we agreed if I cannot trust you with any personal information, if I cannot trust you with my next big business idea, I don't. Actually, I want to spend time with you at all. The sanctity of the inner circle. Unfortunately, a lot of people out there in the world will take, take, take, take, take, and never give back. This is an invitation for you to survey your circle. What do they say? You are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with, right? The sanctity of the inner circle. Joy from where you are right now. We had so much fun, I don't know, probably for about 20 minutes going down these lists, these mental lists, these things we've journaled about, about how beautiful life actually is. my question to you is: how much joy do you get from the ordinary things in life? How much do you acknowledge and appreciate the day that you get all green lights? You must intentionally make the choice to enjoy the beauty of your life right now. I was watching a lizard on my back porch this morning, and it gave me so much joy because it's been so hot towards the end of the summer that even the lizards are hiding out. I love that this person sitting across from me. Shared my enthusiasm for finding the joys in life, for finding the little beauty in life. And as we sat there and as the can as the conversation progressed, we started talking about what we're working on. We started talking about what comes next. And and and a big topic of conversation was. Adversity. This person opened up to me about things that they experienced early on in their business. They they've been at it for 20 years. They have a wildly successful business now. We share the sentiment that the challenges, the adversities, whether they are right now at our doorstep or they're in the past, they are fuel. They are the fire, the drive, the desire, the why to keep going And when I tell you, you don't need the whole picture. To take the next step. We got to another point in the conversation. And again, we're both leaned in, elbows on the table. And they say to me, I feel something as far as what comes next. I feel something. And it is so hard to explain. And I have all of these things that I'm curious about. And I can't quite pinpoint what the big picture is. And I loved this part of the conversation because I'm I'm there too. I feel something even bigger, more impactful, and it's growing. But here's the thing: the more actions I take. Towards this thing that I don't have a clear vision on yet, the more clarity comes. You have a calling on your life, you have a calling in your heart, and you don't get clarity by sitting home doing nothing. You get clarity by taking action in the right direction. You get clarity from staying. Curious about what it is that comes next when when that idea pops into your head, how can I put this into action right now? Right now, how what can I do to test this to see if this is part of a bigger picture or just a stepping stone? But you must be in action. For the clarity to come. And this brings me to the fourth point be the ladder, be the light. We are still leaned in across the table, and we get even closer at this point. And they say to me, Jamie, all of these adversities we've talked about today. All of these challenges I've either overcome in the past or am overcoming right now. Wherever it goes, wherever it takes me, without a shadow of doubt, I feel like I am supposed to be the ladder for the people that are coming behind me. And this is where I went from being leaned in on the table to sitting back and throwing up my arms and saying, hallelujah. I love that you want to be the ladder. I love that you want to take the things that you have been through and show other people the way. You are the ladder. I am the light. I see myself at least a few steps ahead of you on the path. I'm the one with the light saying this way. She is the ladder. I am the light. We are taking what we've lived through, what we've survived, And we want nothing more than to show other people the way. And I think this is why the sanctity of the inner circle is so sacred. Do you want people in your inner circle that are stirring the pot, that are gossiping, that are talking about people? Or do you want people in your circle that are talking about growth, that are talking about taking what we've learned and helping the world be a kinder, healthier place? A world where people understand because we're like, hey, I've been there, I've been there this way. this was this was a lot to squeeze into a short episode today. But wherever you are on this journey, this is a roadmap for you. I don't care if you are just beginning still in the mud. Who you surround yourself with? Are they helping you get out of the mud? Or are they keeping you there? Joy from where you are right now. How much joy are you extracting from the ordinary moments in your life? And you don't need the whole picture to take the next step. Be the ladder, be the light. Okay, that's what I have for you today. Until next time.
