Transcript
- 0:00It's the Playhouse Podcast with Kat and JJ. Can you believe it? I missed everything.
- 0:06Missed the show? What am I going to do? Check out the daily podcast.
- 0:09I don't really know how we got there, but we got really obsessed with hard-boiled
- 0:13eggs during Wednesday's show and a couple of tips coming your way if you're
- 0:17digging on the hard-boiled eggs.
- 0:19Hang tight. Podcast is ready to roll. Let's go.
- 0:21All right, let's get a bingo this morning. Excited for your amazing story. Bingo.
- 0:25How fun. Last week, someone lost an eye at bingo. Bingo. Bingo what bingo? Bingo! Bingo!
- 0:31Here's how it works. You should call real fast. Only the first person through
- 0:35officially gets the bingo. If you're somebody listening, who?
- 0:38Who lives in a house where nobody shuts the door when they use the restroom?
- 0:42It's just a house rule, but this adorable toddler, she thinks daddy's potty time is her potty time.
- 0:48So I guess you know how to open the bathroom door, huh? Yeah.
- 0:52Nice. So I'm just trying to use the potty real quick. You potty? Yeah.
- 0:59What? Yeah, you wait out there. Can you hear me? Yeah.
- 1:04Hey, can you shut this door, please? Thank you.
- 1:07Yeah, I guess. You don't want me by you 24-7? What's wrong with you?
- 1:11But you have a house like that. So it shouldn't be this way,
- 1:15but both of my guys, they shut the door.
- 1:19I never shut the door. I walked in with my wife last night.
- 1:24And we have a, like a, what do you call them? Was the door shut? No, no, no.
- 1:29Oh, she's just sitting there and like it's just so I've been married to this
- 1:34beautiful woman for 25 years and I do. I love her to death.
- 1:38There's boundaries. I need to be more modest. I truly do.
- 1:43I don't know what's wrong with me. I just like never shut the door behind me. I should.
- 1:47Well, and our master bathroom is right off our bedroom.
- 1:51So as you're walking into the bedroom, you notice something to your right.
- 1:55So I stop and look, and then she's just staring at me.
- 1:59And I'm like, no door? Like, it's just so, to me, it's so odd. I know.
- 2:05I really, I shouldn't be about it. I have to shut the door from now on.
- 2:09I just have to. I have to be a lady.
- 2:11And we have a sliding door for our master bathroom, so it doesn't have a lock.
- 2:16So I know if I got to get a grumpy in, I use the other bathroom that I can lock the door.
- 2:21But then it doesn't mean anything to most people because all of a sudden I'll
- 2:24hear, is somebody in there?
- 2:26The door's locked. How else is there somebody going to be in there? Of course.
- 2:30I'm laying some cable. Just give me a minute. And then you tense up and then
- 2:34you need some time to loosen up again.
- 2:36I got to do it by deep breathing exercises. So you're looking for anyone listening
- 2:39who? Lives in a house where no one shuts the door when they use the restroom.
- 2:43Bingo. How far? Last week, someone lost an eye at bingo. Bingo.
- 2:48Bingo what bingo? Bingo. Bingo.
- 2:50Now, the rules are only the first person through gets the bingo,
- 2:53but I'm willing to take a couple of calls today because I got some time.
- 2:56Maybe you're somebody listening who?
- 2:58Lives in a house where no one shuts the door when they use the restroom.
- 3:01It's just, you know, that's the way you do things. This poor dad just wants some alone time.
- 3:06So I guess you know how to open the bathroom door, huh?
- 3:09Yeah. Oh, nice. So I'm just trying to use the potty real quick. Do you potty? Yeah.
- 3:18What? Yeah, you wait out there. Go ahead.
- 3:21Yeah. Okay. Hey, can you shut this door, please? Thank you.
- 3:28Yeah, sure, I guess. I'm looking for anyone listening who has got to get away for the winter.
- 3:34Like you're at a spot in your life where you're like, when it starts getting cold, I have to go south.
- 3:38And then to hear these people complain when the overnight lows are in the 50s.
- 3:43And we'd pray for daytime highs in the 50s. Drive me crazy. Hey,
- 3:49good morning, Felicia. How are you doing?
- 3:51I'm doing good. How are you guys doing? Great. Which one do you fit?
- 3:55Well, technically, I fit both. But which one do you want to hear about?
- 3:58I want to hear about the bathroom, actually. I do, too. What are the rules in your house?
- 4:03Well, I guess it's usually just me and my husband. So when it's just us,
- 4:07there really aren't any rules.
- 4:08The doors are open. You're just kind of doing your own thing.
- 4:11You're like, hey, does this look funny? Come check this out.
- 4:14Like, is there corn in there? Privacy.
- 4:17Wow. What? What do you mean, does this look funny? Like, you're crapping and
- 4:22you're like, does this look funny?
- 4:26Sometimes I get a picture from my husband of what he's left behind. What the heck?
- 4:34Usually it's when I'm in a meeting or something, so it's very unexpected.
- 4:38Look, honey, a peanut. I'm like, that's so gross.
- 4:41Yeah. Wow. Oh, keeping the romance alive. I think I'd have a problem if that started.
- 4:47So if he started sending me random pics of his number two, I think I'd have
- 4:51a little bit of an issue. That's that big of a deal. That's because you used to do that to us. Yeah.
- 4:55Well, all of a sudden, HR is like, hey, why are you sending pictures of your
- 4:59poop to everyone on your show? And I'm like, I don't know. I thought it was
- 5:01an interesting look today.
- 5:03Okay. That's what we deal with. Do you understand? You ever have that morning
- 5:07where you're like, wait, did I have corn last night?
- 5:10I did. Oh, my God. So I appreciate you sharing. Hey, real quick,
- 5:14tell me about the snowbird thing. Where do you guys go for the winter?
- 5:17Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico. You're going to spend how long in Puerto Rico this year?
- 5:22We kind of play a bite here on what the weather looks like in Minnesota and
- 5:25whether or not the snow is gone or it warms up first. But we leave this year
- 5:28on October 11th or even early.
- 5:30So they have just done, since the big storm, so many amazing things with their
- 5:35town and the cobblestone streets and the shopping.
- 5:38So that's definitely on my bucket list of somewhere I want to go.
- 5:41So you're like, oh, it's starting to melt early. It's March 15th. Maybe we'll head back.
- 5:45Yeah, my husband wanted to be there this year for his birthday.
- 5:48So we decided we'd take off early. Wow.
- 5:50You're so lucky. I'm so jelly. All right. I got to let you go.
- 5:53But before that. Bye, Felicia.
- 5:56Bye, Cap. Bye, JJ. Bye. Have a great morning. Hey, Roxanna, how you doing?
- 6:00I'm good. How are you? Good. Which one do you fit this morning?
- 6:04The toilet one. You guys just leave the door open.
- 6:07You're a bunch of savages. Is it everyone in the house or is it like my house?
- 6:12Like my two guys shut the door.
- 6:13I don't. I got to get on board. It's a conscious effort.
- 6:17No, I got rid of him. I got rid of him. It was my ex, the father of my kid.
- 6:22I used to leave the door open all the time. And that's why you got rid of him?
- 6:27Honestly, it was a big reading. Listen, if it's like taking away the feeling
- 6:32that you have for him, Like, it's like, oh, I kind of think you're gross now.
- 6:36Then that's valid. Yeah.
- 6:39It was like an ick. But please tell me there was more, like he was stealing
- 6:42money from you or like. Oh, definitely.
- 6:45Oh, no, no, no, no. Nothing that serious.
- 6:48But no, definitely a long, it's a long list. Yeah. All right.
- 6:53But it starts with him crapping with the door open.
- 6:55Absolutely. Is this a gateway? Like, do I need to know that?
- 6:59Well, yeah. Like, is Derek going to leave because I do it? Well,
- 7:01or better yet, if Kat's husband starts leaving the door open when he deuces,
- 7:05is that going to lead to their ultimate divorce?
- 7:08I mean, you could add it in as an excuse, definitely.
- 7:12As an opener, right? You don't want to go too hard too fast.
- 7:14You just start with that. I would think that that would be an end.
- 7:17Like, and I don't want to see you go to the bathroom anymore.
- 7:21All right. And have you found somebody that respects the honors of the bathroom
- 7:26now? Like somebody new in your life that, oh, who put the door closed?
- 7:29Oh, no, absolutely not. I just want to stay by myself. I love being.
- 7:34She's jaded from the open door pooping. All right. I got you.
- 7:37All right. I am. I am. I'm traumatized.
- 7:39You're like, see, like if anything were to happen to Derek or like,
- 7:43like, you know, sadly passed away, I would never move on. I would just like be okay by myself.
- 7:50Yeah, no, definitely. I think, yeah, no, definitely. It was a long relationship. It was 12, 13 years.
- 7:57And no, I'm fine by myself and my kids. And I'm alone. I love it.
- 8:02By the way, has that genetic... Selfie.
- 8:04Does that genetic faux pas kind of spread down to the kids? Do they go with the door open?
- 8:09My son. Yeah. He's going to be next. Yeah, you got to reign that in.
- 8:14All right, thanks. Have a great morning. We appreciate you. Take care.
- 8:17You need cash. We got it for you.
- 8:20It's free money, high level, up in the playoffs with cats and chips.
- 8:24Hi, Marisa. What's for breakfast for you?
- 8:28I haven't had breakfast yet. That peach sounds pretty good all of a sudden, doesn't it?
- 8:32Not really. It's so big. It was like it was grown on another planet.
- 8:38I was going to ask if it was fresher out of a can, but thanks for answering.
- 8:41Well, you know everything about
- 8:42Cat's Big Peach now, which makes a woman like Marisa go... Holy crap.
- 8:51Holy crap. Marisa, you said you were just pulling into work.
- 8:55What do you do for a living?
- 8:57I work at Central Care. Holy crap. Nice.
- 9:01Where the peaches are big and plump. So we got an envelope in front of Kat.
- 9:05She's going to put her peach down.
- 9:07She'll quit playing with her peach and then find out exactly how much money
- 9:10you're playing for here today. It's a family show.
- 9:12Okay. Hardly. Got it. All right. So we got a dollar amount sitting in front
- 9:16of Kat. We do know that it's between $1,000.
- 9:20$4,000. You'll have 12 seconds to identify it.
- 9:23If you can land on that right dollar amount before the clock expires,
- 9:26everyone will scream. Holy crap.
- 9:29Then you can use this money and go shop at that cute little boutique they have there.
- 9:34It is cute. Yeah. They sell peaches there? Yep. No peaches.
- 9:40She's over it. The cafe is right there. There might be peaches. Great salad bar there.
- 9:46They got a lot going on. Holy crap. 12 seconds will start when you give us your first guess, Marisa.
- 9:52Rooting for you. Come win that money with free money high low in the playhouse.
- 9:56We're ready to go whenever you are. Good luck.
- 9:58$3,000. Higher. $3,500. Lower.
- 10:02$3,250. Higher. $3,400. Lower. $3,300. Higher.
- 10:07$3,350. Lower. $3,350.
- 10:12You are a good player, so use that to your advantage. $3,308 was your final number.
- 10:19So you could have said 33, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Just to remind you that you
- 10:25can play like that Alright Holy crap,
- 10:30Just for the record, I really thought you were going to win I had this all queued
- 10:33up Wiener, wiener, wiener, wiener, wiener But now I can't play it.
- 10:41Holy crap Holy crap Alright, so Disney has announced a price hike for select
- 10:48Disney plus Hulu and ESPN streaming plans and bundles. So I just want to give you a heads up.
- 10:53I like to make sure that you are in the know. Why do you care? Don't you steal this?
- 10:57I said I'm letting other people know. You know what?
- 11:01When you air out dirty laundry like that, it's very inconsiderate and irresponsible. So shut your mouth.
- 11:07They'll never catch you. Anyway, so when you choose the ad package,
- 11:12it's going to go up by two bucks.
- 11:13The no ad plans is going to increase by three dollars just to let you know.
- 11:18Well, the good news is yours won't increase at all. Shut up.
- 11:20Halloween is upon us. What's Halloween about? Costumes and candy.
- 11:23If we went to a Halloween party. Okay, let's go take a treat now.
- 11:26Come on. Just treat. Happy Halloween.
- 11:29There you go. Spirit Halloween stores have released their top costume trends for 2025.
- 11:34K-pop. You're going to see a lot of K-pop groups out there. Demons.
- 11:38Marvel superheroes. Squid Game characters, which is like so I feel.
- 11:42Did you watch the second one?
- 11:43The second one was pretty good, too. I didn't even watch the first one.
- 11:45Oh, it's probably not up your alley. It's really too gory probably for you.
- 11:49I like scary. I don't like gory. I like scary. There's a lot of death.
- 11:53And then Wicked for Good is another costume theme. So check those out. No Trump costumes?
- 12:00I don't see any Trump. Or Biden costumes? Like, I would have expected those.
- 12:02They're just not hot anymore. I guess not.
- 12:04So, last year. Too polarizing. I suppose you go to the wrong door,
- 12:07you get no candy. Right. You know what I mean? Like, you don't want to make the kids sad.
- 12:10So, an AI artist named Zanea Monet just signed. This is not a real person, by the way.
- 12:16Just signed a $3 million record deal. She's the creation of Talisha Jones,
- 12:20who is a lyrical genius. So she puts together these songs and then sends it
- 12:25to AI and they produce the songs and.
- 12:28Music.
- 12:49So beautiful. Of course. And this is what singers are, listen to that.
- 12:56Like it sounds like a regular song, but it's so good. So here's my prediction.
- 13:00This will be big for about a year, maybe two years, right? Because they can't tour or do concerts.
- 13:06But a lot of people, but think about how many people don't want to pay $400
- 13:09for a concert ticket anymore, right?
- 13:11So like the concert industry and AI coming together is the perfect storm for
- 13:16this stuff to get big for a while. What I'm going to guess is that concert ticket
- 13:20prices come down because of this.
- 13:22Yeah, and I hope they do. You'll be able to go see Taylor's Next Tour for not
- 13:24$1,000 a ticket. It'll be more like $150 a ticket.
- 13:28Yeah, and I don't think, if you ask most artists out there, I don't think they
- 13:31want their ticket prices as high as they are.
- 13:34There's a lot of fees and everything included. They want to honor their fans,
- 13:37but they don't have any say in that.
- 13:39But I just thought that that was kind of scary for some singers out there that
- 13:41are really hustling and trying to make it. I get a text yesterday,
- 13:45and I don't know who this was intended for. There's about 25 people on this group text.
- 13:51And it's from a guy that I used to do radio with way, way back in the day in Minneapolis.
- 13:56And I rarely hear from him, but he's got a job now selling insurance. He...
- 14:02Works in a, like a building downtown. But he had just texted all of us.
- 14:07And I'm not sure why, but he's like, best soup in the world.
- 14:11And he had a picture of just like a bowl of soup in a cardboard container, right?
- 14:17And everybody's like. That was my post yesterday. Did you have the same thing? Yeah.
- 14:21So do you, okay, so maybe this is perfect for you. So anyways,
- 14:24it just said best soup in the world.
- 14:25And a bunch of these, like, this is, this is not for the faint of heart kind
- 14:29of text chain because some people are just savages. So is this going to get out?
- 14:34No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I didn't say anything.
- 14:37Everybody else chimed in right away. Boom, boom, boom, boom,
- 14:39boom. Why? Why are you sending this like they're being complete animals?
- 14:42They're just a bunch of degenerate men.
- 14:46And basically what I found out
- 14:47is that he gets the same bowl of soup every day, Monday through Friday.
- 14:53That's his lunch. He goes downstairs to this little deli that's at the surface
- 14:56level, like street level, and gets the same bowl of soup every single day.
- 15:00And so everybody was calling him names and being derogatory about it, right?
- 15:05Because that's what guys do. But I just thought, man, do you have the same food every single day?
- 15:11And I started thinking about it and every single, except for my wife will go
- 15:17to Costco every once in a while and get steak bites instead of chicken bites.
- 15:21If you look at them, it's like a container of like eight to 14.
- 15:25You microwave them for 30 seconds and they're delicious.
- 15:29And otherwise I have chicken for lunch every single
- 15:33day of my life in different varieties I'll have chicken and rice maybe just
- 15:37chicken or put some hot sauce on it or whatever but like do you actually have
- 15:41the same food every single day anything that you eat every day of your life
- 15:45I have eggs in some capacity every single day I love eggs and I like to put like chili oil on them,
- 15:53they're oval are they brown? no better nutrients.
- 15:58Okay. No. Make the move. They're just white. So you have eggs every day.
- 16:01Yes. What's your favorite way to have them?
- 16:03Sunnyside chili oil with some dairy-free cheddar cheese on top.
- 16:07Okay. So you got a thing. They're so good.
- 16:09And I have them like normally when I get home from work, I have idle time before
- 16:15I have to go get Liam from practice. And I don't want to have too much because
- 16:18I know I'm going to make dinner right after that.
- 16:20So it'll get you through. I'll do that. Maybe like side of an avocado, you know?
- 16:25Yeah. You dress them up, but essentially it's a couple of eggs every day.
- 16:28Yeah. It's not so much like a hyper fixation meal. It's like the exact same
- 16:31thing, but it's a different variation of eggs.
- 16:34And eggs have the good cholesterol, good protein, right? Sure.
- 16:37They're nature's candy.
- 16:38So I would like to know, is anyone listening that has the same thing every single day?
- 16:44Like, I know you want variety in your life, but like if you find something you
- 16:47like, I don't see a reason to not have it every single day. What's yours?
- 16:51Is it eggs? Is it chicken? Is it a bowl of soup? I mean, maybe you pack the same.
- 16:56I remember watching Breaking Bad and Walter White's character would make the
- 17:00same peanut butter sandwich every day and cut the crust off.
- 17:05Yeah. And I'm like, could you get by with that if you're somebody that packs
- 17:08the same lunch every day?
- 17:10There are some people that you just know what to expect and people like that.
- 17:14How's Michaela doing this morning?
- 17:16Doing great. How are you guys? We're great. Thanks for joining the show.
- 17:19We were talking about people who eat the same thing every single day.
- 17:23This ring true for you? Yeah, for sure. What is it?
- 17:27So I love, I guess like I eat two like meals the same, but like I love hard boiled eggs.
- 17:32They're just quick, easy, like good protein in the morning, put a little salt
- 17:36and pepper, like, you know, the chili oil thing on them. It's just amazing.
- 17:40And then the other thing is usually for lunch, it's just easy.
- 17:44So I do like different types of like either like the albacore tuna in a can
- 17:48or the packet. And then I usually do like a kind bar for lunch.
- 17:52So you're very health conscious.
- 17:54I want to know around the holidays, you know what gets me? Those deviled eggs.
- 17:58So it's like, I don't know what it is. Before I know it, I'm six deep.
- 18:03Six entire eggs. What's the difference between a deviled egg and a regular hard-boiled
- 18:07egg? I don't know. It just looks prettier, maybe? Yeah.
- 18:10A deviled egg is like the one that you mix with like mayonnaise,
- 18:14mustard, and you can sometimes do like a fancy bit that you,
- 18:18you know, you cut them in half and then you put the paprika or whatever on top
- 18:21of them or you can get fancy with your sesame.
- 18:24Have you seen the cafes that do hard-boiled egg flights?
- 18:27So like how you go get coffee flights, beer flights, they do ones and they do
- 18:32like bacon with some syrup on top or they do different versions of hard-boiled eggs. It's so funny.
- 18:39Oh, I'd be in trouble. I would eat so many. Yes, that would be terrible.
- 18:42I would be done for the day.
- 18:44And sadly, everybody else would be too because what happens after?
- 18:50Have you ever had, since you guys, I think it sounds like you both love eggs.
- 18:53Have you ever tried like over easy on top of basmati rice with a little bit
- 18:58of salt and pepper? And you can even cook the egg in all our coconut oil to
- 19:02make it a little healthier, but it's amazing.
- 19:04Oh, wow. I like basmati rice, but no. I got to ask you about the love of hard
- 19:08boiled eggs. I tried making them in the air fryer once, and it absolutely was no bueno.
- 19:14I've never heard of that. Yeah, you're supposed to soak them in ice. Blow up?
- 19:17No, you're supposed to soak them in ice water for a while, and then you put
- 19:20them in there, but it really didn't work, and I was just like,
- 19:23because, listen. How did your house smell?
- 19:24It was fine. It wasn't that bad, but I love hard-boiled eggs,
- 19:27too, but I don't have 20 minutes to stand around and let them boil, you know what I mean?
- 19:31I just stick them in an egg cooker. Ooh, you bought one of those.
- 19:36Yeah so that way I can get up in the morning quick make my coffee throw the
- 19:40eggs on quick and then they're ready so hold on how long does it take in an
- 19:42egg cooker it depends like sometimes it's like 12 minutes sometimes 7 and sometimes
- 19:47it can be like ridiculous like 20 but the one that I got was like I think like
- 19:5012 minutes at the most where'd you get that did you get that on Amazon yeah,
- 19:53He's going on Amazon. No, I got it at Menards. You bought an egg cooker at Menards.
- 19:58They have an as-seen-on-TV aisle.
- 20:00Well, you save big money. Yeah, you really do.
- 20:02Yeah, I did. So, Menards.
- 20:05Rebate. Egg cooker. And you get the 11% coupon in the mail. Look at you.
- 20:09You're all over it, Michaela. Yeah, I got a coop. Look, big life hack. I got a coop.
- 20:13Listen, I'm going to Menards right after the show. I'm going to walk in.
- 20:16I'm going to go, Michaela said you got egg cookers.
- 20:18And if they don't give me the one that does it in like five minutes,
- 20:21you and I are going to have issues.
- 20:23Uh-oh. Yeah. You guys are an absolute delight, by the way. I listen to you every
- 20:27morning. Oh, my God. Say it louder. Our bosses are back in town.
- 20:31Trust me, they're not listening to us. Give them a raise. They need it.
- 20:33Oh, my God. It's almost October. Good idea.
- 20:35If they ever listen to us, it would get through. But, hey, thank you,
- 20:38Michaela. You're the best. I hope you have a great day.
- 20:40We got one final pair of tickets to check out Cardi B at the Target Center in March.
- 20:44If you'd like those, join our live show at 7.05 Thursday morning.
- 20:48Plus, remember, free money, high,
- 20:50low, and a chance to score up to $5,000 cash, 6 a.m., 7 a.m., and 8 a.m.
- 20:55All Thursday morning as we wrap up our podcast. We want the good stuff now.
- 21:02All right, so I'm going to start with this story out of Utah.
- 21:05Somebody stole this 11-year-old Axton Bird's chair, wheelchair, electric wheelchair.
- 21:10He has a rare genetic condition, and the whole community came together to make
- 21:16sure that they could have enough money to not only replace his electric wheelchair,
- 21:22but add some bells and whistles.
- 21:23When the wheelchair was stolen, we kind of hit rock bottom, and all we were
- 21:28seeing was red in anger, thinking, how could someone do this?
- 21:31But I had to remind myself and remind my wife and our family that sometimes
- 21:34God works in mysterious ways, and God brought these wonderful people to us.
- 21:37We quite literally live paycheck to paycheck. Times are hard.
- 21:40It's really rough out there.
- 21:41And so something like this, it just helps us so, so much.
- 21:44I mean, listen, I haven't lived the most clean life, but I don't know if I'll
- 21:49ever get to a spot where I'm going to steal a kid's wheelchair.
- 21:52Yeah, either to pawn it or who knows what this person did with it.
- 21:55But that's community to me. That is where my money would go.
- 21:59It's somebody's baby. And it obviously needs it. So I was like,
- 22:02that is something good. Tell me something good.
- 22:05What's in your life right now? Well, Liam played a great game of football last night.
- 22:09He loves playing with his friends, and they just have such a great team together,
- 22:14and everyone works together and knows their spot, and it just made for a really
- 22:17fun game. So to watch your kid do what they love with their friends is awesome,
- 22:22and that is Something Good.
- 22:25My Something Good, and I don't want to be selfish about this,
- 22:27but I was always like, when I went away to college, it was to be away, right?
- 22:31And my daughter's in her senior year of college, and she's applying to all these
- 22:34med schools right now. and,
- 22:37What I'm noticing, though, is as she continues to apply, which isn't cheap even
- 22:41to apply, is that she's starting to get a little bit closer to home,
- 22:46like maybe Northwestern in Chicago or something a little bit closer to home.
- 22:51So I'm like, I didn't want her to get all the way to the East Coast or all the
- 22:55way to the West Coast. You'd love her in Chicago.
- 22:58Well, I got a place to stay when I want to go under the Cubs and stuff like that.
- 23:01But just within, you know, a 10-hour car ride or an hour flight would be a little
- 23:06bit better. So for me, I don't want to be selfish and I want to encourage her
- 23:10to, you know, flap her wings and get out there.
- 23:12But now that I'm realizing that she might get a little bit closer to home,
- 23:15I'm a little bit more optimistic about her future.
- 23:18So that for me is what's good. That's awesome. But what is good for you? Let us know.
- 23:24Something good in your life? I think right now I'm at a point where my kids are old enough.
- 23:30They're not super young where I have to be running around them.
- 23:33And the older they get, I think the closer we become. So right now I'm loving
- 23:36the relationship I have with my kids.
- 23:39They're all different ages, but they all love spending time with me.
- 23:43So I think I'm just soaking that in for as long as I can.
- 23:47Yeah. And that's, that shows a lot of how you are around them,
- 23:51that they would want to be your friend.
- 23:53And some people make the comment, like, you shouldn't be your kid's friend.
- 23:57And I, like, my kid is one of my best friends and he respects me.
- 24:01So there's a way to have that equal balance. Yeah, no, definitely.
- 24:05And I love it. And obviously, you know, I know that there's those boundaries, you know, as a parent.
- 24:10Right. But right now I'm just soaking in everything I can because I'm sure in
- 24:15a few years they're going to want to hang out with their friends instead of their mom.
- 24:18So right now I'm just loving where we're at. I'm loving that.
- 24:21Guest of pin number and with a collective studio audience. Round of applause for Mike.
- 24:27There you go, Mike. Caller number 10. And we found out off the air.
- 24:31Mike is from Brainerd. What do you do, sir?
- 24:34I am a chiropractor all right hey listen that's crack-tastic.
- 24:40Don't laugh at that man uh listen hey uh do you do the ring dinger no i do not
- 24:46you know what i'm talking about though right that decompression thing yeah why
- 24:49don't you do it is it dangerous,
- 24:52it makes me cringe it straightens people's necks out it's not good for people
- 24:55listen if you are iffy about it.
- 24:58I don't. He's a professional. This guy wants it to get done all the time,
- 25:04but you're saying it's not good for you.
- 25:05And then JJ's going to act like he's smarter than you. And he's going to still do it anyway.
- 25:10When people put this stuff on TikTok and Instagram, it looks amazing.
- 25:14But if you're saying don't do it, then I trust you, Mike.
- 25:17I don't like the technique. I'm just not comfortable with it,
- 25:20so I don't do it. He's still going to do it. I'm not going to do it.
- 25:22I have a broken neck. I'm not going to do it.
- 25:24Hey, since you're from Brainerd, Do you know why your city was named Brainerd? Oh, God.
- 25:31You know, I don't. Sorry. I was born in a radio cure, too. So listen,
- 25:35you can use this with your patience. The city of Brainerd.
- 25:38Obviously, Brainerd was a railroad city. The president of that railroad,
- 25:42his wife's maiden name was Brainerd.
- 25:45And that's where the name came from. Look at this. I'm just dropping knowledge.
- 25:48You are a wealth of knowledge. I feel like I owe Mike for saving my life from
- 25:52not getting the ring dinger. So I just wanted to give him some knowledge to use with his patience.
- 25:55And imagine an extra $50,000 worth of money you can put back into your practice
- 26:00or just have some fun with.
- 26:01What we need from you, bud, are five numbers to open up this safe.
- 26:04They're all zero through nine, and we're going to plug them into the safe.
- 26:07If it opens up, you keep all 50 grand inside. So what do you want to shoot with, Mike?
- 26:13I got nine, four, seven, two, six.
- 26:21Those numbers mean anything, or are they just random?
- 26:24You know, I was looking at license plates in front of me on the way to work. I love it. Wow.
- 26:30You're like, the universe is giving me these numbers. Could it mean $50,000?
- 26:3694726. Cat's going to punch it in. Do we have a green light on this? You are good to go.
- 26:41Nobody has guessed these random digits before. Let's see if it's worth $50,000.
- 26:48Plug them in, guys. What do we get?
- 26:53Come on now. Come on. Get it. Oh, no, no, no, no.
- 26:58Music.
- 27:04Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
- 27:11You're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong.
- 27:15All right. Well, back to cracking spines, I guess, today. What's your favorite
- 27:19thing to do to somebody? Like, what gets them the most relief?
- 27:22I like a good seated cervical adjustment. Yeah, baby.
- 27:27Is that where you kind of get up behind him and then you twist him? I don't twist.
- 27:34He doesn't twist. You got to have good technique, JJ. Has anyone ever farted in your face?
- 27:42Happens every day. No way. It is like literally my nightmare.
- 27:46So how do you, do you just not say anything or do you try and make a joke out
- 27:50of it? Because I'd have to be like, ooh.
- 27:53I shouldn't say it happens every day. It happens all the time.
- 27:55That's usually what I say. Don't worry. happens all the time.
- 27:58And it's mostly women, right?
- 28:00That's 50-50. You're looking for that duck. Where'd that duck go?
- 28:03Alright, well, unfortunately I can't get you any money this morning,
- 28:06but we all learned something from Mike and Brainerd. Hey, man,
- 28:08I appreciate it. I hope you have a great day today. Go help some people.
- 28:11Hey, you too. Thanks, guys. We're not going to help anyone. Coming up next. Up next with Kat and JJ.
- 28:17If you genuinely believe we're
- 28:18going to help anyone, well then that's on you. So the ring dingers bad.
- 28:22Yes. I was kind of hoping. But I know you. You're still going to ask to get it done.
- 28:26I'm not going to have it done. Because you're going to think that your buddy
- 28:28that's a chiropractor is going to do it better. But. No.
- 28:32It looks extremely scary. And you have a trained professional saying it's not good for you.
- 28:38Look at your face. I know. I know. You're going to do it. I'm not going to do it.
- 28:42This should be a very interesting portion of the show this morning.
- 28:45And I want to get your thoughts. But let's hear Lisa out.
- 28:47Because I think I know enough about this where I have a definite opinion.
- 28:51But we know your husband is, I mean, you guys have wildlife all around,
- 28:55but he's kind of, he's flipping the switch on this whole taxidermy thing,
- 28:59right? You want to tell us where this is going?
- 29:00Got until a point where I said, like, put into a room.
- 29:03And he had this little room, this little area and section, just,
- 29:06you know, to entertain him. You know what I mean?
- 29:08That's his little hobby, let him do it, right? And I get that because it's his house too.
- 29:12So if he has like an office that that's where he wants to keep that,
- 29:15then I get that. That's nice of you.
- 29:18I'm okay. I'm here to support my husband. But recently, my beloved baby,
- 29:24I've had my son for the past 12 years, and we recently left him.
- 29:30My husband now, because of his recent hobby, wants to also do my son.
- 29:39He wants to taxidermy my son. He wants to. And put him in a room.
- 29:42If someone's just joining, it is, you mentioned a lab. So it's not your actual
- 29:47son, it's your first son.
- 29:49My first son. And it's my my pa-son. Oh, so you would have that constant reminder.
- 29:55You'd walk in and see your fur baby up there on the wall. He wants to do it as like a loving thing.
- 30:01I love it. I love the idea, babe. I love it.
- 30:05I don't know if you'll ever hear this. I love it. But I kind of I don't know
- 30:08if it's creepy or it feels I don't know how to walk in and just I can't take my son out of the room.
- 30:15So, OK, thank you. So I equate this to my own life first.
- 30:20My wife will hopefully outlive our dog, and she loves that dog.
- 30:25But if she comes to me and says, hey, the dog's on its last legs.
- 30:31Let's stuff the dog and put it in the corner. Right. I'm probably not along for that ride.
- 30:37I think he's doing it for her. I know he is. Because obviously she had such a connection to her lab.
- 30:42Once again, he's not going to taxidermy their human son. It's her first son. Is that weird?
- 30:48To taxidermy, yeah, a human. But yeah, it was, I think, the thought that counts,
- 30:53but I wouldn't want that constant reminder.
- 30:56It's not a deer who you had no connection with and you ate it. Sure.
- 31:00You know, this is, I think, a different situation.
- 31:04Is anyone listening somebody who's taxidermied a pet? There was a show on TLC.
- 31:10It's not my strange addiction. It's something else. But they keep their cats in their freezer.
- 31:15So as the cats die off, they're like, they're family members.
- 31:18And they just want to preserve them until they have enough money because taxidermy
- 31:23is very expensive. And then they're going to stuff them? And then they're going to get it stuffed.
- 31:26So they already have, you know, they have like five cats at all times and then
- 31:29when one dies, it goes in the freezer until they can afford it.
- 31:31Imagine you make some new friends at the bar this weekend and you find out in
- 31:34a couple of months that they're the ones that are, they got a freezer full of
- 31:39dead cats just waiting on hitting.
- 31:41Grab the Totino's, you know, grab some ice cubes.
- 31:44You got a frozen pizza in there? I sure do. You want to go grab it?
- 31:46Yeah. Yeah, and then you find out that they're just waiting to hit a scratcher
- 31:49so that they can stuff all their cats and put them in their house.
- 31:52Well, that's the best part of having your own house. When you're an adult,
- 31:55you can do whatever you want in that house as long as everybody that lives there is okay with it.
- 32:00I would like to know if anyone's listening that has a pet that's stuffed or
- 32:04taxidermied or has an animal with meanings.
- 32:09I'm overhearing some of the young men on our football team just tossing out
- 32:16stupid, dumb, insane pickup lines yesterday.
- 32:23Sounds like the effort is there, which I love. A new generation.
- 32:28Homecoming is right around the corner, so they're all like the Hoco thing.
- 32:32You gotta rhyme with Hoco, which is so tough, by the way. Unless it's SoCo,
- 32:35and you're not supposed to be drinking at that age. It's really tough.
- 32:38So I heard a couple of these, and I just had to roll my eyes,
- 32:40and I was telling one of the other coaches, I'm like, these are lame.
- 32:44I'm like, back in my day, we had good ones like, Hey, are you part beaver? Because damn!
- 32:52Oh my god. That's a good one. Cut to all your stories that you've had of girls
- 32:57that just say thanks but no thanks. Basically, I'm opening up my playbook of
- 33:02major fails to anyone who's in the dating scene right now.
- 33:05But what I'm really hunting for is one that works.
- 33:09Hey, you're pretty. And I'm cute. And together we'd be pretty cute.
- 33:14That's not offensive. It's not crass. It would work on me.
- 33:20I'm easy like that. I like the, do you like raisins? Uh-huh. How about a date?
- 33:25Okay. All right, come on. That one's easy to get by. Hi, Tricia. How are you doing?
- 33:30I'm good. How are you guys? Great. Thank you. When I answer,
- 33:34she's like, oh my God, I can't believe I got through.
- 33:35So I'm assuming you've got a great one, one that's actually worked.
- 33:40Well, it worked for me.
- 33:43So he was actually my brother's best friend. Okay.
- 33:47And we always hung out together. and one day I said I was going to a store.
- 33:52He said, can I ride with you? I said, sure.
- 33:54So he said something. I said, you're so crazy. And he goes, am I crazy to have a thing for you?
- 34:01What? Nice mood.
- 34:06And my heart just sunk to my stomach and we've been married 20,
- 34:09it'll be 29 years in March. It works, everybody. It works.
- 34:14So how did you navigate telling your brother That would be the next difficult
- 34:18step, I think. I didn't have to.
- 34:20I didn't have to. He actually went to him and said, would you mind if I dated your sister?
- 34:26What? That is, like, very thoughtful. Let's be gentlemen. Yes.
- 34:31And that was back in the 90s, JJ. So you're right. That was the peak of good pickup line.
- 34:37I feel like men back in the 90s, even the early 2000s, they had that,
- 34:42like, confidence and the mojo.
- 34:45Like, guys need to get that back. I think they lost it. I'll tell you exactly why.
- 34:48Because they're not afraid you're actually like running video on it.
- 34:52And they're going to throw it on your TikTok or your Instagram and get lit up
- 34:56by 500,000 people for being cheesy.
- 34:58I want to say so sorry from our gender. I want to say sorry that that happens
- 35:03to you because that's really awful. If you have the guts to come up to us and
- 35:07say that, ladies, if you're going to smear him online, that's really terrible to do.
- 35:12Yeah, that is horrible. Do you ever think about how nervous he was,
- 35:16he was waiting for the moment to spring something like that on you and how nervous
- 35:21he probably was for, I mean, for weeks, maybe months, just waiting for the right time. Yeah.
- 35:27Right? Yeah. I'm shaking right now. Oh my God. That's so sweet.
- 35:33We're at work together right now. We, we work together.
- 35:36So we work and live together. Give each other a kiss right now. Enjoy it.
- 35:42What are you doing? oh you just cop on him yeah,
- 35:46I love this story thanks for calling yeah this is gonna definitely make the
- 35:50podcast thank you guys have a thank you have a good day have a great day.
