Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the Tech Talk Radio Network.
• 0:04
Speaker 2: My problem is, I've got my pointer in the middle
• 0:06
Speaker 2: of the screen and I need to move it to
• 0:09
Speaker 2: the left, but my mouth is over on the left
• 0:12
Speaker 2: hand side of the pad, and if I go any
• 0:15
Speaker 2: further to the left, it's going to go off the pad. Anyway,
• 0:18
Speaker 2: if you can give me a call, I appreciate it.
• 0:20
Speaker 2: I'll wait till you until I hear from you.
• 0:24
Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of tech Talk Radio.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: and I'm justin.
• 0:32
  Speaker 4: Let me welcome.
• 0:32
Speaker 3: It's good to have Matt back with It's been a
• 0:34
  Speaker 3: little while.
• 0:35
Speaker 4: How you doing, Matt, I'm I'm alive and right now
• 0:40
  Speaker 4: that that's a victory, that's good.
• 0:43
Speaker 1: We're glad you're here. I have to just it is
• 0:46
Speaker 1: in a bad mood today. We can tell because he
• 0:49
Speaker 1: doesn't hired, he's tired, and he doesn't have the football
• 0:53
Speaker 1: game on the TV because last week was an absolute nightmare.
• 0:58
Speaker 4: That's a little ridiculous on their part. Honestly it Listen, remember,
• 1:03
Speaker 4: if you don't have the approval of CBS, the NFL
• 1:06
Speaker 4: and it's subsidiaries, which we saw in Family Guy when
• 1:09
  Speaker 4: the FBI busted.
• 1:11
Speaker 5: Oh no, no, no, this.
• 1:11
  Speaker 3: Was the mouse.
• 1:12
Speaker 4: This was the mouse. Yeah, oh it was the mouse.
• 1:15
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:15
Speaker 1: Those Monday night football, Yeah yeah yeah football, Monday night football.
• 1:19
Speaker 5: I literally, for those of you don't know, I mean
• 1:21
Speaker 5: we we also filmed this and we put it up
• 1:23
Speaker 5: on the website or on YouTube, and I literally had
• 1:26
Speaker 5: the game on in the background and it was like
• 1:29
Speaker 5: half of my television.
• 1:30
Speaker 4: You could even see the whole thing. It was like
• 1:32
Speaker 4: a half of it, and there was no audio marked.
• 1:34
Speaker 4: There was no audio. They marked it for copyright.
• 1:36
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: I went to upload this the video. You know, we
• 1:39
Speaker 1: have the one hour video. And I went to upload
• 1:41
Speaker 1: it and the YouTube plagged it. It said, oh, this
• 1:45
Speaker 1: has copyright copyritten content in their NFL, and it showed
• 1:49
Speaker 1: me where those areas were. So I thought, wow, okay,
• 1:53
Speaker 1: that's kind of crazy. So I went and looked and
• 1:55
Speaker 1: I'm like, it looks just like every other scene, right.
• 1:59
Speaker 1: So I finally I said, okay, it said that it
• 2:02
Speaker 1: will still play though, but it's not going to affect me.
• 2:05
Speaker 1: It's not a copyright strike against me for having this. Okay,
• 2:09
Speaker 1: that's good. So I upload it. Do all the things
• 2:11
Speaker 1: that I'm doing. I put it on our blog, tech
• 2:13
Speaker 1: Talk Radio blog, and you know, I put the nice synopsis, photos,
• 2:17
Speaker 1: the whole bit, and then I go to share it
• 2:19
Speaker 1: and I pull up the blog and the blog says
• 2:22
Speaker 1: video disabled due to copyright claimed by NFL.
• 2:25
Speaker 4: Like what, that's ridiculous.
• 2:27
Speaker 1: The only way you could watch it was to click
• 2:29
Speaker 1: through on YouTube, and the people aren't going to watch that.
• 2:32
Speaker 3: I want to make it easy for people. And we
• 2:34
  Speaker 3: were laughing.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: About it because remember at the end of last week's show, Sean,
• 2:37
Speaker 1: did we not all kind of joke around that, Hey,
• 2:40
Speaker 1: I wonder if you get flagged for that?
• 2:43
Speaker 6: We're just like, oh, I wonder if we're gonna get
• 2:44
Speaker 6: flagged for that. A little bit of the NFL you
• 2:46
Speaker 6: can see in the background, right, and I'm curious if
• 2:49
Speaker 6: it was because Justin didn't even have the audio up.
• 2:51
Speaker 4: No, not that, No, no, no, not at all, of
• 2:54
  Speaker 4: course not no.
• 2:55
Speaker 5: But I mean, I find this ridiculous because people will
• 2:57
Speaker 5: actually get away with live streaming, uh like UFC fights
• 3:03
Speaker 5: or or whatever on Twitch, and all they've got to
• 3:05
Speaker 5: do is sit there and with a controller in their
• 3:08
Speaker 5: hand like they're a streamer and pretend to be playing
• 3:10
Speaker 5: the game and they don't. Yeah, and then they're like, no,
• 3:14
Speaker 5: it's not even a game. Yeah, seriously, they don't even playing.
• 3:17
Speaker 5: It's an actual real thing. It's a real the real
• 3:20
Speaker 5: UFC or the real NFL, and all they have to
• 3:23
Speaker 5: do is sit there in the corner with a controller
• 3:24
Speaker 5: in their hand, and it confuses the algorithm to think, oh, no,
• 3:27
  Speaker 5: they're just playing a game.
• 3:29
  Speaker 3: It is.
• 3:29
Speaker 4: The way I have watched like the last three title
• 3:32
Speaker 4: fights is I just go on Twitch and search UFC
• 3:36
Speaker 4: and there's some dude with a controllers sitting there, and
• 3:38
Speaker 4: he like, I know, some people play games weird, Like,
• 3:42
Speaker 4: I know, you got the guys who have like the
• 3:44
Speaker 4: controller like tucked under their chin, and that doesn't make
• 3:47
Speaker 4: sense to me. That's uncomfortable. But the guy who'll sit
• 3:49
Speaker 4: there with this controller like sat on his chest to
• 3:52
Speaker 4: make sure it's in view, and if you watch, his
• 3:55
Speaker 4: fingers never move once. But he's like, yeah, definitely playing
• 4:00
Speaker 4: UFC fight night, not watching the title fight at all.
• 4:03
Speaker 4: And I'm like, well, I appreciate your efforts because now
• 4:07
Speaker 4: I can watch it and not have to pay money
• 4:08
Speaker 4: or go to Buffalo Wild Wings.
• 4:10
Speaker 1: Well, I ended up having to go into the blog
• 4:12
Speaker 1: deleting that post. I deleted everything YouTube, the blog post.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: I thought, I wanted to be clean. I want our
• 4:17
Speaker 1: listeners are viewers, followers, to be able to check the
• 4:21
Speaker 1: video out. So I thought, okay, I'll go in and
• 4:23
Speaker 1: I had numbers there where you know, where content was flagged.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: And I went to those numbers and I took a
• 4:30
Speaker 1: little pastel screen and I just kind of blurred everything
• 4:34
Speaker 1: right where the TV was, and I did it in
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: both those sections.
• 4:39
Speaker 3: Then I took it.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: I saved it, I re encoded the video, uploaded the video,
• 4:44
Speaker 1: and it got flagged for another section somewhere in the video.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: I thought, it's gonna flag me throughout the entire video.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: So what I ended up doing as I ended up
• 4:53
Speaker 1: finding a shot like we have right now where it's
• 4:56
Speaker 1: just the black TV. And I went ahead and and
• 5:00
Speaker 1: I cropped it. I went into Photoshop, did a special
• 5:03
Speaker 1: cropping on it, and then put pop that into the
• 5:07
Speaker 1: video with Justin. And it was tedious because I had
• 5:10
Speaker 1: to watch the video. There's a couple of shots where
• 5:12
Speaker 1: there's like a little bright flash you could tell something
• 5:15
Speaker 1: was there, but that kind of got fixed because we
• 5:19
Speaker 1: were talking a whole hour of this and every time
• 5:21
Speaker 1: Justin talked, I had to go in and fix it.
• 5:24
Speaker 1: But it ended up looking pretty good. I gotta say
• 5:26
Speaker 1: I patted myself on the back there.
• 5:29
  Speaker 4: Oh it's a good job. But I mean it's it's
• 5:30
  Speaker 4: absolutely ridiculous.
• 5:31
Speaker 5: I mean, I'm gonna be honestly, I would not be
• 5:33
Speaker 5: surprised if we don't get flagged today for Sean's Mountain
• 5:36
Speaker 5: Dew can sitting and frame.
• 5:38
Speaker 3: Oh where is that, Sean? We got to see your
• 5:40
Speaker 3: mountain doo voo doo. I'm gonna make a big screen
• 5:45
Speaker 3: now we're gonna get flag.
• 5:46
Speaker 6: It's there zero sugars. So every year Mountain Dew puts
• 5:49
Speaker 6: out this Halloween flavor. It's a mystery flavor and they
• 5:52
Speaker 6: kind of like they try to get you to guess
• 5:54
Speaker 6: and you can potentially win something. This one is definitely
• 5:57
Speaker 6: tastes exactly like Smarties. Oh my guys, all right, it
• 6:02
  Speaker 6: is so good.
• 6:03
Speaker 1: So if you watch the video and that can has
• 6:06
Speaker 1: suddenly changed to something else, you know, we got flagged.
• 6:10
Speaker 5: Well, or it could be the MacBook box in the
• 6:12
Speaker 5: back of my Yeah, I mean that could get flagged.
• 6:15
  Speaker 3: Matter of fact.
• 6:16
  Speaker 4: That's that's marketing.
• 6:18
  Speaker 3: Matter of fact.
• 6:19
  Speaker 7: Sean.
• 6:20
Speaker 1: I know we were kind of eyeballing his his MacBook,
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: your new MacBook.
• 6:25
Speaker 3: When did you get this?
• 6:26
Speaker 4: About eight, no nine hours ago?
• 6:28
Speaker 3: So have you even taken it out of the box yet?
• 6:30
Speaker 4: I spent nine hours setting up this. Okay, so backstory
• 6:35
Speaker 4: of why about the Mac because listeners who know who
• 6:38
Speaker 4: have listened to us before in any segment I'm on now,
• 6:41
Speaker 4: I'm not an Apple fanboy. For those who don't know.
• 6:45
Speaker 4: With my background cybersecurity, I got laid off in July
• 6:49
Speaker 4: at the very end of July and jump back into
• 6:54
Speaker 4: the utter dumpster fire that is the job market. And
• 6:58
Speaker 4: in the two years I've been in my current company,
• 7:00
Speaker 4: it changes really fast. But in the last two years
• 7:03
Speaker 4: it changed in ways that my company did not adopt,
• 7:07
Speaker 4: so I have no background in them. And I looked
• 7:10
Speaker 4: at all the courses I'm going to be taking over
• 7:12
Speaker 4: the next three months to try and be employable again,
• 7:15
Speaker 4: and looked in the best computer for all of those
• 7:19
Speaker 4: courses combined was a new Mac. So I went and
• 7:24
Speaker 4: you know, went to best Buy today. My wife and
• 7:26
Speaker 4: I talked about it, and I bought a new fourteen
• 7:29
Speaker 4: inch M three pro chipset MacBook Pro nice and the
• 7:35
Speaker 4: main reason I went with Mac is I'm going to
• 7:37
Speaker 4: be doing a lot of Linux work in some specific
• 7:42
Speaker 4: so Linux comes in what are called distros or flavors distributions,
• 7:46
Speaker 4: and I'm going to be trying to get certified in
• 7:47
Speaker 4: one that's specifically built for penetration testing, called HALLI Linux,
• 7:54
Speaker 4: and the Mac. The MacBook Pro was really highly rated
• 7:58
Speaker 4: for it, whether running it as a native VM for
• 8:01
Speaker 4: duel booting, or running it as a virtual machine, which
• 8:04
Speaker 4: is what I decided to do. But I almost called
• 8:06
Speaker 4: an audible the moment I walked in, I was like,
• 8:08
Speaker 4: I'm gonna get the Mac. Everybody was busy, so I
• 8:11
Speaker 4: just kind of did a loop of all the laptops
• 8:13
Speaker 4: and I saw this new Lenovo Yoga nine and it's
• 8:20
Speaker 4: the first laptop I've seen where the keyboard is like
• 8:23
Speaker 4: outside of the Microsoft surface where it's a wireless keyboard
• 8:26
Speaker 4: comes with it and it's actually two screens like this, Yeah,
• 8:31
Speaker 4: it folds together. And I was like, I'm also going
• 8:33
Speaker 4: to do coding classes and that would be really nice.
• 8:36
Speaker 4: Promptly jumped on one of the computers and was like
• 8:38
Speaker 4: loading Linux onto this machine and everyone was like, don't
• 8:42
Speaker 4: there's your solution. Get a Mac, and I was like, well, hell,
• 8:46
Speaker 4: all right, I guess I'm gonna get the Mac. But
• 8:49
Speaker 4: with that, the other one that I wanted to bring
• 8:51
Speaker 4: to your guys's attention, they have finally released an augmented
• 8:56
  Speaker 4: reality laptop.
• 8:58
Speaker 3: Oh you're kidding me.
• 8:59
Speaker 4: It is not come with a screen at all. There
• 9:03
Speaker 4: is no screen with this thing. It looks like the
• 9:05
Speaker 4: bottom half of a MacBook Pro.
• 9:07
  Speaker 3: And instead of.
• 9:08
Speaker 4: Augmented reality glasses, that's your screen and they're hardwired into it.
• 9:14
Speaker 4: So instead of like, oh I about a fourteen inch screen,
• 9:17
Speaker 4: you have glasses that can be a fourteen foot screen
• 9:20
Speaker 4: if you so decide. But seeing that, as we talked
• 9:24
Speaker 4: about VR, like one of the last times I was
• 9:27
Speaker 4: on here, like and I brought up I'm surprised that
• 9:30
Speaker 4: no one's using that for their display. They're now doing that,
• 9:34
Speaker 4: and I think that's what we're going to start seeing
• 9:37
Speaker 4: here in like the next five years, is display screens
• 9:40
Speaker 4: are going to be a nice feature, a bonus that, oh,
• 9:44
Speaker 4: if you spend extra one hundred bucks you can get
• 9:46
Speaker 4: the externally attachable display. Otherwise, pop these glasses on and
• 9:52
Speaker 4: welcome to the Oasis from Ready Player one. Because everything's
• 9:55
Speaker 4: going to be done VR now or AR. But it's
• 9:59
Speaker 4: called this spacetop, the space laptop, it's the Space top.
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: I don't know, I kind of I'd like the idea
• 10:05
Speaker 1: of having the screen even if this is a feature.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: But I think people are gonna buy that for that feature, right,
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: I mean I can I can't imagine somebody not buying
• 10:15
Speaker 1: it because they want to completely immerse themselves in this
• 10:19
Speaker 1: environment like that. But I'd always want to have, Like
• 10:22
Speaker 1: right now, I have two screens for my laptop and
• 10:25
Speaker 1: I love it that are available. I would want to
• 10:27
Speaker 1: have that as kind of like a backup thing.
• 10:30
Speaker 4: It's crazy. I'm actually looking at this right now. So
• 10:32
Speaker 4: you open it and the case like peels back and
• 10:36
Speaker 4: folds over and under and normally goes like over, and
• 10:40
Speaker 4: there's like a little like camel hump where the glasses are,
• 10:42
Speaker 4: but where it like origami folds over is the webcam
• 10:46
Speaker 4: and you can actually it's got like little stilts so
• 10:49
Speaker 4: you can pull it up and down to adjust where
• 10:52
  Speaker 4: it views you.
• 10:53
Speaker 3: So then you've got these ar glasses, this.
• 10:56
Speaker 4: Like little keyboard and a camera that you can like
• 10:59
Speaker 4: perfectly set and there you go.
• 11:02
Speaker 1: I'm kind of wondering though, Apple Sean, how much was
• 11:06
Speaker 1: the price on the.
• 11:07
Speaker 3: The the VR from Apple.
• 11:09
Speaker 6: Thirty five hundred bucks.
• 11:11
  Speaker 4: Yeah, it's ridiculous.
• 11:12
Speaker 3: Thirty five hundred bucks.
• 11:13
Speaker 1: Someone, are this is the pricing on something like this? Uh,
• 11:16
Speaker 1: Matt gonna be similar to that? Would you spend that
• 11:18
Speaker 1: much money on something like that? Because I know, Sean,
• 11:20
Speaker 1: you said you wouldn't spend thirty five hundred bucks on
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: the Apple Vision.
• 11:24
  Speaker 6: Absolutely absolutely.
• 11:26
Speaker 4: MSRP for the siteful Space Top g One, a screenless
• 11:31
Speaker 4: laptop that uses augmented reality to create a virtual display
• 11:35
Speaker 4: as a manufacturer suggested retail price of nineteen hundred dollars
• 11:40
Speaker 4: not bad. That is cheaper than what I just paid
• 11:43
Speaker 4: for this MacBook Pro.
• 11:44
  Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
• 11:46
Speaker 1: My son sent me specs for an MSI gaming laptop
• 11:50
Speaker 1: that he's looking at and I saw MSI. He said,
• 11:53
Speaker 1: I didn't, I've never heard of them. Are they any good?
• 11:55
Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, yeah, MSI is good. Yeah, you'll
• 11:58
Speaker 1: be fine with that. But it was twenty one hundred bucks.
• 12:01
Speaker 1: But it had a forty seventy in it. I'm thinking,
• 12:03
Speaker 1: do you really need that? Do you really need that?
• 12:06
  Speaker 5: I mean, I got I got my a sus the
• 12:08
Speaker 5: one that I use for work. You know, my a
• 12:10
Speaker 5: sus Rock laptop. It's a seventeen inch screen, what is it,
• 12:15
Speaker 5: thirty seventy TI graphics card, it's a nine processor, sixty
• 12:19
Speaker 5: four gigs a RAM I want to say that was
• 12:22
Speaker 5: nineteen hundred bucks total. And that thing can run circles
• 12:25
  Speaker 5: around anything else that's obnestly. I don't think I would
• 12:27
Speaker 5: buy this, this, this AR one. I mean it's not
• 12:30
Speaker 5: because of the specs or what it can do. I
• 12:31
Speaker 5: think it's just gonna I think people would just it
• 12:34
Speaker 5: would look too weird, and people would just be staring
• 12:36
Speaker 5: at you and asking questions, and you would never be
• 12:38
Speaker 5: able to get anything done because it's so new that
• 12:41
Speaker 5: nobody's ever seen something like that. And I just don't
• 12:43
  Speaker 5: I wouldn't want it. I wouldn't want it because I
• 12:45
Speaker 5: wouldn't want to be sitting there constantly taking out my
• 12:46
Speaker 5: glass and going, yeah, it's an AR laptop, leave me alone.
• 12:50
  Speaker 4: Please.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Can you imagine being like a public public bus or
• 12:53
Speaker 1: even an airplane on a flight, you know, and you
• 12:56
Speaker 1: whip out the glasses, you put them on, you get
• 12:58
Speaker 1: the laptop in your lap.
• 12:59
Speaker 3: People can be and what the heck is he doing?
• 13:02
Speaker 6: Yeah? So one of the guys that I played Dungeons
• 13:04
Speaker 6: and Dragons with does have the air glasses and he
• 13:08
Speaker 6: connects them to his MacBook and does the dual displays
• 13:11
Speaker 6: in his glasses and just chills in his room.
• 13:15
Speaker 4: I mean, pro no, he can't.
• 13:18
Speaker 6: There there are glasses that connect via a connection to
• 13:21
Speaker 6: his laptop that can act as external displays for a MacBook.
• 13:25
Speaker 6: I'll have to get to God, have to get with
• 13:26
Speaker 6: him to see what actually the mad model is. But
• 13:30
Speaker 6: he loves them. I got to check him out not
• 13:32
Speaker 6: that long ago. And it's weird because you know, it's
• 13:35
Speaker 6: they don't have diopters in them, so you can't adjust
• 13:37
Speaker 6: the tier. You kind of have to like move them
• 13:39
Speaker 6: forward enough to kind of get focused in there. But
• 13:41
Speaker 6: you can scale the size and all that stuff. It's
• 13:44
Speaker 6: it's it was pretty neat, but I just don't know
• 13:47
Speaker 6: if I would do it.
• 13:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that would be different.
• 13:50
Speaker 4: I mean they said kind of said the same things
• 13:52
Speaker 4: when like laptops very first came out, was you know,
• 13:56
Speaker 4: people sitting there like, oh my gosh.
• 14:00
Speaker 7: Eventually, yeah, it's the CEO of Nvidia actually came out
• 14:07
Speaker 7: I think it was yesterday and said we are at
• 14:09
Speaker 7: the forefront of a brand new industrial revolution.
• 14:14
Speaker 4: And I was chatting about this with Lee the other
• 14:16
Speaker 4: day and I was like, we the original industrial revolution
• 14:19
Speaker 4: was obviously manufacturing hard labor like things that you know,
• 14:24
Speaker 4: normally have people their hands on AI, and the things
• 14:28
Speaker 4: that are coming out now are the in my opinion,
• 14:30
Speaker 4: the digital equivalency of that same thing, to where so
• 14:34
Speaker 4: many things that might be repetitive, Oh hey I gotta
• 14:37
Speaker 4: I gotta script how to do this task so I
• 14:39
Speaker 4: don't have to do hands on Now you can just
• 14:41
Speaker 4: be like, hey, chat GPT, we do this all the time,
• 14:45
Speaker 4: Can you script it for me? And it's like, yeah, sure,
• 14:47
Speaker 4: got you bro. So I think with with that tagging
• 14:52
Speaker 4: onto VR ar XR, whatever they're going to brand it as,
• 14:59
Speaker 4: I think we're seeing kind of turning the corner to
• 15:04
Speaker 4: the what's going to be next? And it's exciting. It's weird,
• 15:08
  Speaker 4: but it's.
• 15:10
Speaker 1: Kind of funny when you think about it, though, because
• 15:12
Speaker 1: I think we would have thought of in Nvidia as
• 15:15
Speaker 1: part of this. You know, well, they make graphics cards,
• 15:17
Speaker 1: you know, they beg they do this, they do that,
• 15:20
Speaker 1: and we would never have thought of them as being
• 15:22
Speaker 1: a big player in this next you know digital you
• 15:26
Speaker 1: know revolution, and they have been because they put everything
• 15:30
Speaker 1: into saying AI is going to be here, We're going
• 15:33
Speaker 1: to support it, We're going to create the products that
• 15:35
Speaker 1: will be able to handle all of this, you know,
• 15:39
Speaker 1: artificial intelligence and the needs for this. And those people
• 15:43
Speaker 1: that bought into the sock with Nvidia that can now
• 15:46
Speaker 1: they're just graphics card company. Those people that bought in
• 15:49
Speaker 1: are doing pretty good.
• 15:51
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, my friend who bought into that when he
• 15:54
Speaker 4: was a teenager retired last week.
• 15:57
Speaker 3: Amazing, yeah, yeah, amazing.
• 16:00
Speaker 4: Younger than me, not bitter at all.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: Now, Sean, you had a story that you sent us
• 16:06
Speaker 1: this week. Have we confirmed this that there's there's kind
• 16:09
Speaker 1: of a run going on for Intel now?
• 16:12
Speaker 6: So it's it popped up in the trades that Qualcomm
• 16:16
Speaker 6: had approached Intel to do a friendly takeover. That just
• 16:21
Speaker 6: means basically that Qualcom would buy out all of the
• 16:24
Speaker 6: stock from the from the board members at at Intel
• 16:27
Speaker 6: and then basically shift priorities into Qualkmm that I saw
• 16:32
Speaker 6: that article yesterday today. I just read that Qualcomm us
• 16:35
Speaker 6: just laid off a bunch of people. So I had
• 16:38
Speaker 6: no idea. Oh wow, right, So I mean Intel is
• 16:41
Speaker 6: in the tank, is in the toilet right now, right,
• 16:43
  Speaker 6: I didn't think.
• 16:44
Speaker 4: They were that bad. Why are they in the toilet?
• 16:47
Speaker 6: So you've not seen all of the issues with the
• 16:50
Speaker 6: fourteen generation and the thirteen generation chips Yeah, so it's
• 16:54
Speaker 6: the Intel had this has this major issue with the
• 16:57
Speaker 6: thirteen the thirteen nine Hunters series, and the early fourteenth
• 17:02
Speaker 6: gen chipsets that they are basically at the at the
• 17:07
Speaker 6: transistor level frying themselves.
• 17:10
Speaker 3: Have they come out with the fixed yet?
• 17:12
Speaker 1: I know, I think it was gonna be the They.
• 17:16
Speaker 6: They say that if if your processor is showing symptoms
• 17:20
Speaker 6: of this problem, it's going to continue to get worse. Right,
• 17:23
Speaker 6: your processor is just going to continue to basically overheat
• 17:27
Speaker 6: itself and just fry itself. So then it's just like,
• 17:30
Speaker 6: well just rm an. Well, they've basically run out of stock.
• 17:34
Speaker 6: They can't give people what they what they bought, so
• 17:37
Speaker 6: they're either giving you a newer processor that has the
• 17:40
Speaker 6: same problem, an older processor that doesn't have the problem,
• 17:43
Speaker 6: or they're just refunding you and saying good luck. Oh wow,
• 17:47
  Speaker 6: So it's been.
• 17:48
Speaker 4: Whose fault was this an engineer, the designers, It's.
• 17:52
Speaker 6: A problem at Intel, and it just it did got
• 17:55
Speaker 6: past quality control somehow, and it yeah, it's it's it's been,
• 18:00
Speaker 6: it's been. Their stock is really really low, like they
• 18:04
Speaker 6: they are on an absolute decline right now.
• 18:07
Speaker 4: I thought they were just too big to fail, I
• 18:08
  Speaker 4: mean Intel, So.
• 18:10
Speaker 6: Right, so this is this is the big question. Right.
• 18:12
Speaker 6: You have you have am D, you have Intel, you
• 18:15
Speaker 6: have Qualcomm, you have a couple of other Chinese chipet manufacturers.
• 18:19
Speaker 6: Right if Qualcom comes in and says, well, we're gonna
• 18:22
Speaker 6: buy out Intel, well there's a lot of people that
• 18:25
Speaker 6: are gonna say that's going to violate some you know
• 18:28
Speaker 6: whatever the law is anti trust law, right because that's
• 18:34
Speaker 6: they're going to qual Coms is just going to have
• 18:35
Speaker 6: this huge share. And you've already seen Qualcomm trying to
• 18:39
Speaker 6: sneak into the lower end laptop market, so it's smart
• 18:43
Speaker 6: for Qualcom to try and do that where Qualcomm has
• 18:46
Speaker 6: just historically been a cell phone chip manufacturer or other
• 18:51
Speaker 6: you know, onboard integrated circuit manufacturer. So it'll be interesting
• 18:55
Speaker 6: to see. But I can't see why it doesn't make
• 18:58
Speaker 6: sense that companies aren't trying to buy Intel and if
• 19:01
Speaker 6: somebody could absorb them and rebranded or spin it around
• 19:04
Speaker 6: into whatever, I don't see how that couldn't benefit some
• 19:09
Speaker 6: company that has enough money to spend on you guys.
• 19:11
Speaker 1: Remember it would have been the nineties when there was
• 19:14
Speaker 1: a penny issue. The Penny And processors had some kind
• 19:19
Speaker 1: of issues with them, and they did a fix. They
• 19:22
Speaker 1: basically replaced many of the processors. I remember going through that.
• 19:26
Speaker 1: It was, you know, and that's when you had opportunities
• 19:29
Speaker 1: that you could use Cyrix or you used you know,
• 19:32
Speaker 1: or AMD. You know, you would use those processors that
• 19:36
Speaker 1: DLC forty and the X forty and some of those
• 19:38
Speaker 1: other ones. And Intel had these Penny and processors. But
• 19:41
Speaker 1: there was a problem and a lot of people thought
• 19:44
Speaker 1: the same thing back then that that was going to
• 19:46
Speaker 1: be it, and they ended up coming out of that.
• 19:48
  Speaker 3: Okay, I'm hoping.
• 19:50
Speaker 1: I am hoping because we've had people from Intel on
• 19:53
Speaker 1: the show. We still know people that work at Intel.
• 19:57
Speaker 1: We were kind of hoping maybe they will come out
• 19:59
Speaker 1: of this. But you know, I don't know. When we
• 20:01
Speaker 1: got that news about Qualcomm, we thought, well, wait a minute,
• 20:04
Speaker 1: maybe this situation is a little more bleak than we'd
• 20:08
Speaker 1: like to There's problems, and I'm hoping they're able to
• 20:11
  Speaker 1: fix them.
• 20:11
Speaker 3: I really am. So here's it. Here's the thing.
• 20:14
Speaker 4: We've discussed this before. We know I'm an AMD fanboy.
• 20:18
Speaker 4: I've been an AMD fanboy for most of my life,
• 20:22
Speaker 4: way back when. One of the things that really changed
• 20:25
Speaker 4: and turned AMD around because they were really lagging behind
• 20:30
Speaker 4: Intel for a long time. AMD was the very first
• 20:33
Speaker 4: company between Intel and AMD, they were the first ones
• 20:37
Speaker 4: to create a dual course CPU. It was the original
• 20:41
Speaker 4: Athalon X two and the guy who created the Athalon
• 20:45
Speaker 4: X two actually did what is almost considered antiquated now.
• 20:49
Speaker 4: He hand laid the architecture for that chip. He didn't
• 20:53
Speaker 4: have a computer build it anything like that. He hand
• 20:55
  Speaker 4: laid it.
• 20:56
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 20:56
Speaker 4: And the the Rizon chip set, which is really turned
• 21:00
Speaker 4: AMD around. They basically called him and they were like, hey, buddy,
• 21:05
Speaker 4: it's been a while, asn't it. Can you please come back.
• 21:07
Speaker 4: We're really struggling. And he handlaid the original Rizing chips,
• 21:13
Speaker 4: which they've taken off. They're great, they're great bang for
• 21:17
Speaker 4: your buck, their big machine. They're beefy things, especially like
• 21:21
Speaker 4: the thread ripper is just a monster. But when the
• 21:25
Speaker 4: and this is one of the things that turned me
• 21:26
Speaker 4: off to Intel was when the Athlon x two was
• 21:29
Speaker 4: really taking off, Intel called all the manufacturers they called Dell.
• 21:34
Speaker 4: HP Compact was still around. E Machines was still around.
• 21:38
Speaker 4: They called them and they were like, hey, so AMD
• 21:41
Speaker 4: is starting to kick our butts. So they did kind
• 21:45
Speaker 4: of like a quiet back room deal. They were like,
• 21:47
Speaker 4: if you do our chip set instead of AMD for
• 21:51
Speaker 4: your pre built systems, we're going to cut a pretty
• 21:55
Speaker 4: penny off the cost of your your wholesale purchase. And
• 21:59
Speaker 4: it ended up getting them and a lot of legal
• 22:02
Speaker 4: trouble because basically they it was not like an it
• 22:06
Speaker 4: was not an actual legal deal. It was you know,
• 22:09
Speaker 4: back room wink wink, nudge, nudge. You know, hey buddy,
• 22:13
Speaker 4: we're fine, right, And it got them into big trouble
• 22:15
Speaker 4: with the US federal government. So to see that, you know,
• 22:19
Speaker 4: their chips are eating themselves alive, Like I'm sitting here like, uh,
• 22:24
Speaker 4: it couldn't happen to a nicer group of folk, Like
• 22:28
  Speaker 4: that's just hm, that's a shame. I view in terms
• 22:32
Speaker 4: of like heech in the market, you either have the
• 22:35
Speaker 4: superior product or you don't, right, and they haven't for
• 22:40
  Speaker 4: a while.
• 22:41
  Speaker 6: Well, I don't know.
• 22:42
Speaker 1: I've built systems with the thirteen to nine and I
• 22:46
Speaker 1: was waiting for a fix from Asus for the motherboard
• 22:49
Speaker 1: that was in there.
• 22:49
Speaker 3: That was going to supposedly be some.
• 22:52
Speaker 1: Kind of a patch to deal with this, and I
• 22:54
Speaker 1: haven't seen it yet. I was supposed to get emailed
• 22:57
Speaker 1: once that was available, and that was a great machine.
• 23:01
  Speaker 3: I built my wife's with a twelve nine and it's
• 23:05
  Speaker 3: I love it.
• 23:06
  Speaker 1: It's super It's faster than mine, and I think it's
• 23:08
Speaker 1: great because I've got the eleven.
• 23:10
Speaker 3: Uh, they've made good processes.
• 23:12
Speaker 1: But you know, I think it's kind of like, you
• 23:14
Speaker 1: know how I've been an Apple guy for so long
• 23:17
Speaker 1: on my my smartphone. Going to Android was a little scary.
• 23:22
  Speaker 1: It was, it's it's still been a little hesitant. I'm
• 23:26
Speaker 1: still counting the days down till I can, you know,
• 23:29
Speaker 1: return it or or I'm buying into it and I'm
• 23:32
  Speaker 1: keeping it going.
• 23:33
  Speaker 3: Full force it.
• 23:33
Speaker 1: Every day I find another reason to keep it and
• 23:36
Speaker 1: to keep going with the Android. I think the Intel
• 23:40
Speaker 1: users going to AMD it's been the same thing. You're
• 23:43
Speaker 1: a little a little timid about that. I've been using
• 23:45
Speaker 1: Intel for so long, you know, why would I want
• 23:48
Speaker 1: to try? But AMD has really been putting out a
• 23:50
Speaker 1: great product. The Rise of nine amazing, you know, people
• 23:55
Speaker 1: have said so many good things about it.
• 23:57
Speaker 3: Kind of think that maybe.
• 23:58
Speaker 1: People if they if they open up their eyes and
• 24:01
Speaker 1: they give it a shot, they're gonna be happy with it.
• 24:03
Speaker 4: So go with that. I have been living in a
• 24:09
Speaker 4: new video game, Warhammer forty K Space Marine two. I
• 24:13
Speaker 4: have been existing in this game, playing the story of
• 24:18
Speaker 4: Lieutenant Dominus Titus, and that is my happy place right now.
• 24:22
Speaker 4: This is one of the one of the games where
• 24:24
Speaker 4: the AI aspect of the game is crucial because you're
• 24:29
Speaker 4: fighting against an enemy that they're they're called terminids if
• 24:33
Speaker 4: you've played if you played StarCraft, they're they're the zerg, right,
• 24:37
Speaker 4: and it's a first person shooter. So you have this
• 24:39
Speaker 4: massive swarm of bad guys coming at you. And I
• 24:42
Speaker 4: was actually when I was at fan Expo, I got
• 24:45
Speaker 4: to actually chat with one of the developers because they
• 24:47
Speaker 4: were presenting the game there. He was like, yeah, so
• 24:50
Speaker 4: the main swarm, when you see it like coming towards you,
• 24:54
Speaker 4: the computer runs it as one AI element, and then
• 24:58
Speaker 4: as it gets closer, it crosses this delineated line and
• 25:02
Speaker 4: these individual units start popping out. But it's every individual
• 25:06
Speaker 4: unit from that rendered swarm, and each unit has its
• 25:10
Speaker 4: own AI instruction that's popped in it. So I'm playing
• 25:15
Speaker 4: with my buddy, who's got he's got. I want to
• 25:17
Speaker 4: say it's about a ten or eleven year old AMD processor,
• 25:22
Speaker 4: and he was like, my GPU is like five years
• 25:24
Speaker 4: old and it's fine. For the first time ever in
• 25:27
Speaker 4: a video game, I am reaching a CPU bottleneck, oh,
• 25:31
Speaker 4: because of the amount of logic required for this AI.
• 25:35
Speaker 4: But case in point, what I'm trying to say here
• 25:37
Speaker 4: is he is running a ten eleven year old AMD CPU.
• 25:43
Speaker 4: It is still able to play this game. You can't
• 25:46
Speaker 4: play it on maximum settings, but a ten eleven year
• 25:48
Speaker 4: old CPU from AMD is still able to do that
• 25:51
Speaker 4: level of AI logic and routing and control.
• 25:56
Speaker 3: Wow, that is pretty amazing stuff. It really is.
• 25:59
Speaker 1: All right, tell you why we got to take a
• 26:01
Speaker 1: quick break in Warhammer. I understand Henry cavill Is plays
• 26:05
Speaker 1: that and is it's like he is a big fan
• 26:08
  Speaker 1: of it.
• 26:08
Speaker 4: We'll jump in that after the bar.
• 26:10
Speaker 3: I'll touch on that.
• 26:11
Speaker 5: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean to Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
• 26:14
Speaker 5: and I'm justin Lemme find us on the web.
• 26:16
Speaker 4: But tech talk Radio dot com we'll be right back.
• 26:19
Speaker 8: And now fact to tech Talk Radio.
• 26:22
Speaker 4: So right before the break, Andy brought up Henry Cavill
• 26:26
Speaker 4: and Warhammer forty K. When Henry Cavill was actually doing
• 26:31
Speaker 4: an interview for The Witcher, one of the questions is
• 26:33
Speaker 4: like what outside of the Witcher? What what's your nerd thing? Like,
• 26:38
Speaker 4: what what is your thing? And without skipping a beat,
• 26:40
Speaker 4: he just goes, oh, Warhammer forty K. And as soon
• 26:43
Speaker 4: as he says that, the actor who played h Yas
• 26:46
Speaker 4: here goes, oh, oh you play and he was like,
• 26:49
Speaker 4: oh yeah, right now, I'm running. I think he was running.
• 26:53
Speaker 4: It was either Terminids or like Ldar, but he's like,
• 26:55
Speaker 4: oh yeah, I'm running this right now. And they were like, oh,
• 26:57
Speaker 4: so you should, and we should, and people paid attention
• 27:01
Speaker 4: to that because the one downfall, the reason Henry Cavill
• 27:05
Speaker 4: actually quit The Witcher is because he knows the lore,
• 27:09
Speaker 4: he knows the stories, he knows everything about it. He
• 27:12
  Speaker 4: is a NERD's nerd. There's a picture of like all
• 27:15
Speaker 4: these big name actors like Robert Danny Junior, Chris Hemsworth.
• 27:21
Speaker 4: Well all the Chris is like holding these babies, and
• 27:24
Speaker 4: then there's Henry Cavill like cradling a thirty eighty ti
• 27:27
Speaker 4: like it's his child, and he knows the lore so
• 27:31
Speaker 4: much that he would get so upset with the writers
• 27:33
Speaker 4: room being like, no, that's not more accurate. No, that's
• 27:35
Speaker 4: not what GARYL would do that. Eventually he just quit
• 27:38
Speaker 4: and Amazon came to him and they were like, hey.
• 27:41
  Speaker 3: So.
• 27:43
Speaker 4: This friend of a friend told us that you know
• 27:45
Speaker 4: Warhammer forty K and we were thinking of making a
• 27:47
Speaker 4: Warhammer forty K TV show. Would you be interested? And
• 27:52
Speaker 4: they are making it. It is in progress, they are
• 27:55
Speaker 4: making the show, but Henry Cavill was like, I will
• 27:58
Speaker 4: absolutely be involved if I'm the executive producer and I
• 28:01
Speaker 4: have hiring and firing rights everywhere.
• 28:04
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 28:05
Speaker 4: So he has hiring and firing rights for the writer's room.
• 28:09
Speaker 4: So if somebody's like, I think we should tell our
• 28:12
Speaker 4: own unique story that doesn't have anything to do with
• 28:15
Speaker 4: the lore, he is gonna punt that person out of
• 28:17
Speaker 4: like an eight floor window and then go hire someone else.
• 28:21
Speaker 4: So when you say like Henry Cavo is like big
• 28:22
Speaker 4: into Warhammer forty K, he's still today posting on his Instagram,
• 28:26
Speaker 4: like his stats, playing Space Marine two, like getting a star,
• 28:31
Speaker 4: like playing the multiplayer component with everyone. It's it's wild
• 28:35
Speaker 4: I hope to end up with a lobby with him
• 28:37
  Speaker 4: one day.
• 28:38
  Speaker 3: That is awesome.
• 28:39
Speaker 6: Over the summer, my wife's cousin brought the tabletop version
• 28:43
Speaker 6: of Warhammer forty k oh to our family gathering, all right,
• 28:48
Speaker 6: So I spent three nights, three hour three separate nights,
• 28:54
Speaker 6: three hour sessions doing the the Killed Team space ORCS
• 28:57
Speaker 6: First Veterans. It was amazing. I'm gonna get the pictures
• 29:02
Speaker 6: and I'm gonna send the men put on the blog.
• 29:03
Speaker 6: But he has the whole setup, he's got the starter kit,
• 29:06
Speaker 6: he paints his own minis. It was incredible. I almost
• 29:10
Speaker 6: bought it when I went to gen Con this in
• 29:12
Speaker 6: at the end of August, but I would have spent
• 29:15
Speaker 6: way too much money, so I didn't. But there is
• 29:18
Speaker 6: a tabletop version of Warhammer that is incredible, so I
• 29:22
Speaker 6: will just leave it.
• 29:23
Speaker 5: At that island Warhammer, the tabletop one where you have
• 29:25
Speaker 5: to like paint all your miniatures, and you paint the miniatures.
• 29:29
Speaker 6: And then it's it's a specific version called Kill Team,
• 29:32
Speaker 6: which is different than like the campaign settings. This is
• 29:34
Speaker 6: more like a skirmish where you just fight each other
• 29:37
Speaker 6: for an objective. But yes, it is a tabletop version
• 29:39
Speaker 6: where you have measurements, if you have a ruler and
• 29:41
Speaker 6: you're doing it's it was incredible.
• 29:44
Speaker 1: Now if I've never heard I've never played this before,
• 29:46
Speaker 1: would I be able to get into it?
• 29:48
Speaker 3: You think? Or is this seasoned gamers?
• 29:50
Speaker 4: If I might jump on this one. So there are
• 29:54
Speaker 4: now three different settings where you can play Warhammer forty K.
• 29:58
Speaker 4: One Sean is talking about with kill teams. Traditionally, your
• 30:02
Speaker 4: miniatures in the campaign setting, each miniature represents like a
• 30:06
Speaker 4: squad of guys. In kill teams, think of it like
• 30:10
Speaker 4: special ops. Each mini represents one character with specialized versions.
• 30:15
Speaker 4: It is the easiest way to get into the game.
• 30:19
Speaker 4: Then they with the new release that they dropped six
• 30:24
Speaker 4: nine months ago. I think I'm guessing they dropped a
• 30:27
Speaker 4: new thing called Combat Patrol, which is kind of in
• 30:30
Speaker 4: between the two. And then you have traditional Warhammer forty K,
• 30:35
Speaker 4: which is just massive armies, and the army is decided
• 30:38
Speaker 4: by point value. So each unit that you have, like
• 30:42
Speaker 4: a little guy is worth x amount of points, mech
• 30:45
Speaker 4: is worth x amount of points. A thunder Hawk gunship
• 30:48
Speaker 4: is worth a mass amount of points. It's amazing. It
• 30:51
Speaker 4: is not an easy thing to jump into by yourself,
• 30:54
Speaker 4: but if you go to pretty much any local game shop,
• 30:56
Speaker 4: they'll have a Warhammer night and any Warhammer nerd except
• 31:02
Speaker 4: for like you know, the Frankly, the basement dwellers. They're
• 31:07
Speaker 4: they're gonna be there, willing to bring you in and
• 31:09
Speaker 4: teach you. It's it is awesome, it is amazing. It
• 31:13
Speaker 4: is complicated. But Sean, when you said Orc's Verse veterans,
• 31:17
Speaker 4: do you do you know what army the veterans were?
• 31:20
Speaker 6: By any chance, I don't remember, but they were. There
• 31:22
Speaker 6: was a bunch of snipers and uh oh I just
• 31:27
Speaker 6: I got I got to murder them with.
• 31:29
Speaker 4: They were Tao. Oh, that's if it's a bunch of
• 31:32
Speaker 4: snipers there, Tao, And that's disgusting. I'm so sorry your
• 31:36
  Speaker 4: intro was Tao.
• 31:38
  Speaker 3: Oh.
• 31:39
Speaker 4: So for for Warhammer forty K, you've got all these
• 31:42
Speaker 4: and I'm sorry. I I can nerd about nerd out
• 31:45
Speaker 4: about this for the whole show. So I'll do this
• 31:46
Speaker 4: and then I'll be quiet. But like you have three
• 31:49
Speaker 4: different main actions like over arking factions. For Warhammer forty K,
• 31:55
Speaker 4: you had the Imperium of man.
• 31:57
  Speaker 3: Uh.
• 31:58
Speaker 4: You have the Zenos, which are aliens, and that's like
• 32:01
Speaker 4: the Orcs, the Taou, the Eldar, the al Dari. Then
• 32:06
Speaker 4: you have the forces of chaos which are corrupted in
• 32:09
Speaker 4: perium of man Sean. Orcs are amazing. I'm so glad
• 32:13
Speaker 4: you got to experience that, my wife.
• 32:15
Speaker 6: It was, it was, it was. It was the Orc
• 32:17
Speaker 6: commandos and the Veteran Guardsmen. So I played both sides.
• 32:22
Speaker 6: I prefer the I prefer that I prefer the Orcs
• 32:24
Speaker 6: because that's like my play style, Like Big and Beefy
• 32:28
Speaker 6: get in there and just messed uf up. And their
• 32:31
Speaker 6: names are hilarious, like yeah, slice a Boy and rocket Boy,
• 32:36
  Speaker 6: and I mean they're there. It's fantastic.
• 32:38
  Speaker 3: It was.
• 32:39
Speaker 6: It was so fantastic.
• 32:41
Speaker 4: Gonna bro. When you're talking about the Veteran Guardsman, that's
• 32:44
Speaker 4: the Astra Militarum, which is these are regular old humans
• 32:50
Speaker 4: equipped with like a laser, uh they call a las
• 32:54
Speaker 4: gun and it will blow like a meter sized hole
• 32:58
Speaker 4: in a wall with one shot. Like in today's military.
• 33:02
Speaker 4: It would be the end all, be all weapon. It
• 33:05
Speaker 4: is jokingly referred to in Warhammer forty k as the flashlight.
• 33:09
Speaker 4: It is the weakest weapon out there. The Astra Militarum
• 33:12
Speaker 4: subtle fights just based on cure overwhelming firepower and like
• 33:19
Speaker 4: sundering amounts of artillery an astro miilitarum artillery brage will
• 33:24
Speaker 4: crack the mantle of a planet.
• 33:28
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 33:30
Speaker 4: Orcs are ridiculous because they make things work solely by
• 33:34
Speaker 4: believing it. Like they're like, this will fly because we
• 33:38
Speaker 4: think it should fly, and the world is just like, yeah, sure,
• 33:41
  Speaker 4: why not?
• 33:43
Speaker 1: Okay, some great stuff there about Warhammer. Are gonna have
• 33:46
Speaker 1: to definitely check that out. And one of the cool
• 33:48
Speaker 1: things about it, you know, we can talk about a
• 33:50
Speaker 1: little of everything, video games, consoles, TVs, the whole bit,
• 33:55
Speaker 1: but when it gets down to it, we're dealing with
• 33:58
Speaker 1: the same stuff that you may be dealing with. And Sean,
• 34:00
Speaker 1: I know that you did something that you didn't think
• 34:03
Speaker 1: you were going to be doing. You finally took a step.
• 34:07
Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell us about that.
• 34:09
Speaker 6: So we've talked about it. And I finally was getting
• 34:13
Speaker 6: so frush from my computer. To start, I was losing
• 34:15
Speaker 6: USB drivers, like I had issues last last week when
• 34:18
Speaker 6: we were recording the show, and this morning I did.
• 34:21
Speaker 6: I had the day off of work because I've been
• 34:22
Speaker 6: working like crazy, and I just said, you know what,
• 34:27
Speaker 6: it's time to wipe my machine. It's time to get
• 34:29
Speaker 6: it back to bone bone drive to get it done.
• 34:32
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 34:33
Speaker 6: So I downloaded the Media Creation tool. I made a
• 34:39
Speaker 6: USB for Windows eleven Pro because that's the version of
• 34:42
Speaker 6: Windows I have is I have Windows ten Pro, which
• 34:44
Speaker 6: those license copy over to Windows eleven. And then I
• 34:48
Speaker 6: plugged it in. I booted from the USB drive and said,
• 34:52
Speaker 6: this computer does not support what it's leven And I
• 34:56
Speaker 6: was like, that doesn't make sense. It's not that old
• 34:58
Speaker 6: of a motherboards. It's a rise in thirty seven hundred,
• 35:02
Speaker 6: Like I should have enough, right, So then I did
• 35:05
Speaker 6: some googling. So with with this motherboard, specifically, you can
• 35:11
Speaker 6: boot into the older bios mode right, or you can
• 35:15
Speaker 6: boot into the uef I mode right, So that had
• 35:18
Speaker 6: to be enabled. Well, once that was enabled, I was like,
• 35:21
Speaker 6: I'm ready, I'm golden right. No, still said not support it.
• 35:25
Speaker 6: So then I had to go in and there I
• 35:27
Speaker 6: had to go in and I had to Google. I
• 35:29
Speaker 6: had to google. You guys know my Google food is
• 35:32
  Speaker 6: really good, right?
• 35:32
  Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
• 35:34
Speaker 6: It took me a few hours to find the right
• 35:38
Speaker 6: article to find the one the one buried setting and
• 35:42
Speaker 6: I don't even remember what it is right now, I
• 35:43
Speaker 6: have a screen shot up on my phone because I
• 35:44
Speaker 6: was just searching for it and it was a weird
• 35:49
Speaker 6: ft PM setting on this. On this I have an
• 35:52
Speaker 6: asues Gigabyte Asus Elite Wi Fi motherboard.
• 35:56
Speaker 3: I think it's PTT is it or something like that.
• 35:59
  Speaker 6: I don't know, but I found it and once I
• 36:01
Speaker 6: turned that on, I had zero issues getting it in there.
• 36:05
Speaker 6: Then I spent the majority of the day just getting
• 36:07
Speaker 6: Windows eleven. Then you don't realize how many things you
• 36:12
Speaker 6: actually have to reinstall when you go to a new
• 36:14
Speaker 6: version of Oh my, it was like I wrote a
• 36:19
Speaker 6: list of all the applications that I consistently used on
• 36:22
Speaker 6: my computer before I wiped it, and then it was
• 36:24
Speaker 6: like thirty things. So then I'm just going through the list. Okay,
• 36:28
  Speaker 6: I got Chrome, I got Firefox, I've got I just
• 36:31
Speaker 6: went through this huge list and it's like, oh my god,
• 36:33
Speaker 6: there's so many things that I had to do. And
• 36:34
Speaker 6: then then things were Then I had to do USB
• 36:38
Speaker 6: driver updates because I was having issues with my headset
• 36:41
Speaker 6: not working, but the headset worked with the MIC wouldn't work,
• 36:44
Speaker 6: and I was having weird issues with my A ten
• 36:46
Speaker 6: Mini not being read by the USB. And then my
• 36:48
Speaker 6: stream deck wouldn't work with USBs, and then I did
• 36:50
Speaker 6: a Windows update and then it worked. So the summary
• 36:54
Speaker 6: of my today is that it is not easy even
• 36:59
Speaker 6: for somebody who is I feel like I'm pretty technologically savvy,
• 37:04
Speaker 6: to just do have a basic Windows with eleven upgrade,
• 37:07
Speaker 6: do a clean version of Windows. I feel like a
• 37:11
Speaker 6: lot of people that don't have patients with technology would
• 37:14
Speaker 6: have just given up and gone up by a new computer.
• 37:15
Speaker 3: Right exactly. Oh my god.
• 37:18
Speaker 4: There there's a great tool I've discovered over the years
• 37:21
Speaker 4: if you're if you're doing something like this, or it's
• 37:23
Speaker 4: like I got to reinstall Rome and Steam and Spotify
• 37:27
Speaker 4: and discord that It's called nine Night and I N
• 37:32
Speaker 4: I T E. And you can just go in and
• 37:35
Speaker 4: like go down the checkbox of like I want all
• 37:38
Speaker 4: of these things, and it pumps out a custom installer
• 37:41
Speaker 4: and you run the ex and it goes through and
• 37:43
Speaker 4: just like default values for everything. So you can't do
• 37:47
Speaker 4: any customized installs. But if you're running like one hard
• 37:51
Speaker 4: drive and just trying to get a machine up, it
• 37:53
Speaker 4: will go and install all those things for you. It'll
• 37:55
Speaker 4: do the download, do the install, and then at the
• 37:57
Speaker 4: end it's like all right, I'm done. Now you get
• 38:01
Speaker 4: to go spend forty five minutes signing into everything, have
• 38:03
  Speaker 4: a great day.
• 38:04
Speaker 6: Well that was the other thing too. It's like I
• 38:06
Speaker 6: had to remember, Okay, now I have to due authentic
• 38:08
Speaker 6: and everything. I'm my Google email is getting pained every
• 38:10
Speaker 6: two seconds because I have to do authenticate this app
• 38:13
Speaker 6: on Google, this app on Google. Now my work VPN
• 38:16
Speaker 6: needs to do a dual authenticate through Octa. Now my
• 38:19
Speaker 6: one pass room. Now I have to go. Oh did
• 38:21
Speaker 6: I save my want my PDF for my master password? Sure?
• 38:24
  Speaker 2: Did?
• 38:24
Speaker 6: Thank god, because if I would have done that, I
• 38:27
Speaker 6: wouldn't have been obt. He's one passing my computer anymore.
• 38:29
Speaker 3: I'm having the same thing going through the.
• 38:33
Speaker 1: New Pixel nine having to re installed basically it's like reinstalling,
• 38:38
Speaker 1: having to go to the apps can figure everything. Okay,
• 38:39
Speaker 1: that one works, that one works. That's been a pain
• 38:42
Speaker 1: in the neck. So but you finally do that. You
• 38:44
Speaker 1: had to do that as well, right, justin even you
• 38:46
Speaker 1: were going from pixel to a pixel, you still have
• 38:48
Speaker 1: to do it right.
• 38:50
  Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I mean it's obviously it's a backup.
• 38:52
Speaker 5: I mean I just restore the backup, but I still
• 38:54
Speaker 5: have to log into everything. And reauthenticate everything. So yeah,
• 38:58
Speaker 5: that was the problem.
• 38:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, but you got Windows eleven installed correctly, Sean, and
• 39:03
Speaker 1: you're good to go.
• 39:03
Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's I think it's great if it seems
• 39:06
Speaker 6: to run really well. And again, I spent the after
• 39:09
Speaker 6: I installed a lot of the apps. I spent the
• 39:10
Speaker 6: majority of the day just customized things, getting where I
• 39:12
Speaker 6: wanted to and googling how to get rid of all
• 39:15
Speaker 6: of the ads that are on this Windows eleven right,
• 39:19
Speaker 6: so getting it out of my start bar, getting it
• 39:21
Speaker 6: out of my search window, getting it out of everything
• 39:24
Speaker 6: on Windows eleven has ads in it now. But there
• 39:26
Speaker 6: are ways to go in into the registry and make
• 39:28
Speaker 6: some small changes so it doesn't serve you ads. You
• 39:31
Speaker 6: can actually disable copilot, which I did immediately.
• 39:33
Speaker 4: Where do you see the ads?
• 39:34
Speaker 5: Because I'm being I run Windows eleven three different places
• 39:37
Speaker 5: and I don't see any ads anywhere.
• 39:39
Speaker 6: So I would click the Windows button and I would
• 39:41
Speaker 6: get served like recommended apps that I don't have installed.
• 39:45
Speaker 6: If you click the search bar, it would serve you
• 39:47
Speaker 6: sports scores, weather, recent weather highlights like the whole sidebar thing.
• 39:54
  Speaker 4: Those aren't those aren't ads?
• 39:57
Speaker 6: Okay, information that I don't care about. How about that's
• 40:01
Speaker 6: all right if it's not ads, sure, it's it's information
• 40:04
  Speaker 6: that I don't care about. I don't want to see
• 40:06
Speaker 6: it in my search pro when I'm trying to search
• 40:07
Speaker 6: for a file on my desktop.
• 40:08
Speaker 3: But it's wants to learn about you by what you
• 40:10
Speaker 3: click on. That's what it's going to do.
• 40:13
Speaker 6: It's also true, but I just want a clean operating system.
• 40:18
Speaker 4: Then you're going to want to do Linux because you're
• 40:20
Speaker 4: never going to get that with Windows.
• 40:21
  Speaker 6: I understand that. I'm just that's I can dream.
• 40:23
Speaker 3: All right, We got to take another quick break. We
• 40:25
Speaker 3: come back. Justin has a question.
• 40:27
Speaker 1: He's going to tell us about a new website as well,
• 40:29
Speaker 1: and we've got a couple of illiciter questions as well.
• 40:31
Speaker 1: Hopefully we can get to I'm Andy Taylor.
• 40:33
Speaker 5: I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, and I'm Justin.
• 40:36
Speaker 5: Let me send us an X at tech talk Radio.
• 40:39
Speaker 8: We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio.
• 40:43
Speaker 5: So recently, you know, I told you guys, I I
• 40:46
Speaker 5: DJ at a wedding by DJ at a festival, and
• 40:50
Speaker 5: you know, kind of wanted to get back into doing
• 40:52
Speaker 5: more of that kind of stuff.
• 40:52
Speaker 3: You've been having fun with it.
• 40:53
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I've been having fun with it. But you know,
• 40:56
Speaker 5: nobody really knows that I do this kind of stuff.
• 40:58
Speaker 5: So I wanted to get some business cards that I
• 41:02
Speaker 5: could hand out. But then as I'm designing the business cards,
• 41:04
  Speaker 5: I realize I don't have a website, I don't have
• 41:09
Speaker 5: a professional email address, I don't have any of that
• 41:11
  Speaker 5: stuff because I just I don't know, I just.
• 41:14
Speaker 4: I just never really thought about it.
• 41:16
Speaker 5: But I'm not going to design a business card and
• 41:18
Speaker 5: put you know, my personal Gmail address on it, you know,
• 41:21
Speaker 5: and then nothing that people can be able to understand.
• 41:24
Speaker 5: So so, yeah, I bought a website nice and I
• 41:29
Speaker 5: put it in chat there. I used wish Wix to
• 41:34
Speaker 5: design it. You know, the thing about Squarespace and and wis,
• 41:40
Speaker 5: you know, they tout that it's, you know, super easy
• 41:44
Speaker 5: to design a website. It's it's clicking drag and your
• 41:47
Speaker 5: website's up running in minutes.
• 41:50
Speaker 4: It's not true. It's not true.
• 41:53
Speaker 5: There is so much that goes into building a website. Yeah,
• 41:57
Speaker 5: granted I don't have to do any of the code,
• 42:00
Speaker 5: but all of the every single page you've got to
• 42:04
Speaker 5: you've got to talk about all the different elements that
• 42:06
Speaker 5: you want to put in there. There's you know, click
• 42:09
Speaker 5: click to learn more. Where does this learn more take you? Well,
• 42:11
Speaker 5: you got to tell it where to take you. And
• 42:13
Speaker 5: then you know, you got to do all the SEO.
• 42:15
Speaker 5: You got to sign up for Google, you got to
• 42:17
Speaker 5: get your page, all your meta tags.
• 42:19
Speaker 3: Does it let you do jetpack? Jet pack? Have you
• 42:22
  Speaker 3: seen that yet?
• 42:23
  Speaker 4: I don't. I don't know.
• 42:25
Speaker 1: Jet Pack is a really cool tool for for doing
• 42:27
Speaker 1: a lot of that stuff.
• 42:29
Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I've never heard of that. But I mean
• 42:31
Speaker 5: to take take a look at my website. I put
• 42:33
Speaker 5: it in the chat there, but I I designed it
• 42:37
Speaker 5: real quick, put it up there. There's there's still a
• 42:40
Speaker 5: ton of work to do on it because it's not
• 42:41
Speaker 5: the way I like it. But at least now I
• 42:43
Speaker 5: have a website. I bought it for three years. I
• 42:46
Speaker 5: have the email, I have the domain, I have the website.
• 42:50
Speaker 5: So yeah, this should, you know, hopefully help out a
• 42:52
Speaker 5: little bit. But again I'm just my point being this
• 42:54
Speaker 5: whole thing is, you know, all these create a website
• 42:57
  Speaker 5: in minutes.
• 42:59
Speaker 4: No that's not true.
• 43:01
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it does take a little more time than that,
• 43:04
Speaker 1: you know, And honestly, justin there's been so many people that.
• 43:07
Speaker 3: I know that have said, we don't need a website.
• 43:10
Speaker 1: We're gonna do it on Facebook, We're gonna do it
• 43:12
  Speaker 1: on Instagram.
• 43:14
Speaker 3: And those are great resources.
• 43:16
Speaker 1: But I still believe the professionalism is extended when you
• 43:22
Speaker 1: have social media, but you have a website that people
• 43:25
Speaker 1: can look at and an email address that people can
• 43:28
Speaker 1: look at. Now, the only thing I see, and this
• 43:30
Speaker 1: is from somebody who's designed and bought domains and the
• 43:33
Speaker 1: whole bit is your your I like your site. I
• 43:36
Speaker 1: looked at it, but the name can be difficult in
• 43:40
Speaker 1: translation only if you tell somebody, but if you're giving
• 43:43
Speaker 1: it to them on a card or something like that,
• 43:46
Speaker 1: they're gonna see one.
• 43:47
Speaker 3: Means one, you know.
• 43:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, So again that's that's that's a good idea. But no,
• 43:52
Speaker 1: I do believe people still need to have websites, and
• 43:54
Speaker 1: people have kind of wicks.
• 43:56
Speaker 3: I don't know about wicks. I know Barry you Wis
• 44:00
Speaker 3: for his website, which you know, I still I own.
• 44:03
Speaker 3: I have the domain for that one.
• 44:06
Speaker 1: The I honestly like WordPress and divvy uh divvy is
• 44:10
Speaker 1: is pretty good. Again, you still need to learn and
• 44:13
Speaker 1: know a certain amount of word press terms and whatnot, But.
• 44:18
Speaker 3: Divvy is really great.
• 44:19
Speaker 1: If somebody is looking you go to element I think
• 44:21
Speaker 1: it's Elemental Themes or element Themes that you can find
• 44:25
Speaker 1: out or just do a Google search for Divvy. They
• 44:28
Speaker 1: have so many templates up there that if you're new
• 44:30
Speaker 1: or you know you're looking for somebody you want to
• 44:32
Speaker 1: tell a web developer, hey, build a site using this. Uh,
• 44:36
Speaker 1: they can do it. And again it's not too bad.
• 44:39
Speaker 1: But are you having fun with it? That's the main thing.
• 44:42
Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I'm having fun looking at it, figuring
• 44:44
Speaker 5: this out. I mean I've never really designed a website before. Well, no,
• 44:47
  Speaker 5: I should take that back. I mean it's yeah, it's
• 44:50
Speaker 5: been like twenty some years. But this is interesting the
• 44:53
Speaker 5: way they do make it a little bit easier to
• 44:55
Speaker 5: get the basis of it, but you really do have
• 44:59
Speaker 5: to dive in into the deep details of everything. And
• 45:02
Speaker 5: so I find myself clicking through the pages and checking
• 45:06
Speaker 5: every single word, checking every single link, making sure that
• 45:09
Speaker 5: it actually goes to where I want it to go.
• 45:13
Speaker 5: But again, it is about that professionalism to be able
• 45:16
Speaker 5: to have that, because I think you know it. Actually
• 45:19
Speaker 5: it doesn't really matter what industry you're in, but if
• 45:22
Speaker 5: you're trying to promote yourself as a legitimate vendor of
• 45:25
Speaker 5: a product or or a service. And you're just going
• 45:29
Speaker 5: to give them a Gmail account as your email with
• 45:34
Speaker 5: no website for them to go look at. It just screams,
• 45:37
Speaker 5: you know, amateur to me. You know, So even just
• 45:41
Speaker 5: to have something basic where it's just hey, here's my
• 45:44
Speaker 5: website and my card, you know that I'm going to
• 45:46
Speaker 5: give out. It's a very simple card. It's got my
• 45:48
Speaker 5: logo on the back, it's got the website.
• 45:51
  Speaker 3: Especially if you.
• 45:52
Speaker 1: Think about it, justin you're in a situation where, okay,
• 45:55
Speaker 1: let's face it, somebody wants to book an event like
• 45:57
  Speaker 1: a wedding.
• 45:58
Speaker 3: They're going to tie you up for a weekend. So
• 46:01
  Speaker 3: you're gonna want a deposit.
• 46:02
Speaker 1: If you're gonna be leaving a deposit with somebody, you
• 46:05
Speaker 1: want to make sure they're a legitimate company and they've
• 46:07
Speaker 1: been doing things. One other thing I think would be
• 46:09
Speaker 1: great on your website is some video. You know, maybe
• 46:12
Speaker 1: have have a mesa come out when you're doing a
• 46:15
Speaker 1: gig and just shoot some video.
• 46:16
Speaker 3: Or if you have video friends that are.
• 46:18
Speaker 1: Up there, I'm sure you do from the TV days,
• 46:21
Speaker 1: have them come shoot the video of you working. There's
• 46:24
Speaker 1: a guy in California that I used to work with
• 46:27
Speaker 1: and sadly he passed away some months ago. Bob Stock,
• 46:30
Speaker 1: it's great DJ. And it was funny because one of
• 46:33
Speaker 1: the girls I worked with at the station here in
• 46:36
Speaker 1: Tucson moved to San Diego when her daughter got married.
• 46:39
Speaker 3: That's who they hired.
• 46:40
Speaker 1: She said, Oh, yeah, I know this this guy who's
• 46:42
Speaker 1: djaying said he knows you know you and Barry and
• 46:45
Speaker 1: that whole bit, and it was like, so cool. But
• 46:48
Speaker 1: Bob has put put a bunch of videos of him,
• 46:50
Speaker 1: not even DJing, just him standing there in a suit
• 46:53
Speaker 1: and the camera going around him, and you see that
• 46:56
Speaker 1: personality because that's what they want hire so.
• 46:59
Speaker 4: Great want to do.
• 47:00
Speaker 5: That's another thing I want to do too, is I
• 47:02
Speaker 5: want to be able to, like, I'm just think about
• 47:03
Speaker 5: even just doing like an interview with myself where I
• 47:06
Speaker 5: just I want to, like, I want to tell people
• 47:08
Speaker 5: my side of the story when it comes to why
• 47:10
Speaker 5: you should hire me to do your wedding or your
• 47:13
Speaker 5: you know whatever event. Because DJs are dim a dozen, Yeah,
• 47:18
  Speaker 5: what makes me?
• 47:18
Speaker 4: What makes me different?
• 47:19
Speaker 3: What makes you stand out?
• 47:21
Speaker 5: I want to be able to put that video on
• 47:22
Speaker 5: my website and say this is why you should hire
• 47:25
Speaker 5: me over blah blah blah.
• 47:27
Speaker 3: All right, now you had another issue too.
• 47:29
Speaker 1: This was actually a question about a problem you're running into,
• 47:32
Speaker 1: or if somebody else was running into.
• 47:35
Speaker 5: No, I mean I'm running into it honestly at work.
• 47:37
Speaker 5: This is the third laptop. These are Dell laptops, relatively new.
• 47:43
Speaker 5: I mean I think they're not like the most current gen.
• 47:46
Speaker 5: They're not brand new from Dell. We do usually buy
• 47:49
Speaker 5: these things from a refurbished website, but they're very legitimate.
• 47:53
Speaker 5: They've done great work for us all the time, and
• 47:56
Speaker 5: they're all running Windows eleven Pro. And the third laptop,
• 48:01
Speaker 5: all of a sudden, just it's like Wi Fi doesn't
• 48:04
Speaker 5: even exist on the laptop anymore.
• 48:07
Speaker 4: Like it doesn't it doesn't exist.
• 48:08
Speaker 5: Like you click on the network settings where it you know,
• 48:10
Speaker 5: brings up Bluetooth and and you know, accessibility, night light,
• 48:14
  Speaker 5: all that stuff.
• 48:15
Speaker 4: Wi Fi just not even there. Just nothing, like it's
• 48:18
  Speaker 4: not even there.
• 48:19
Speaker 3: Have you gone into the bios to see if it's enabled.
• 48:22
Speaker 5: Bios bios it's enabled, and and and you can see
• 48:25
Speaker 5: it in the device manager. You can see why Wi
• 48:27
Speaker 5: Fi You can even go into the network connections, which is,
• 48:30
Speaker 5: you know, the old Windows network connections, which they make
• 48:34
Speaker 5: it almost impossible to find on Windows eleven. But if
• 48:37
Speaker 5: you get there, you can see Wi Fi disabled. When
• 48:41
Speaker 5: you try to enable it, it just disables itself again.
• 48:44
  Speaker 5: And there's no reason. There's I don't understand anything. There's
• 48:47
Speaker 5: no errors, there's nothing going on. Wi Fi used to
• 48:50
Speaker 5: work on the computer. It's got to be a Windows
• 48:53
Speaker 5: bug of some sort. I don't have We've googled it.
• 48:55
Speaker 5: We can't find anything.
• 48:56
Speaker 3: Has the laptop been opened recently for any reason, like,
• 49:00
  Speaker 3: you know.
• 49:01
Speaker 1: Taking the back off of it to access a battery replacement?
• 49:04
Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no, Because the.
• 49:07
Speaker 1: Wi Fi cards in these laptops, you know, sometimes they'll
• 49:11
Speaker 1: put it at the top of the bezel.
• 49:13
Speaker 3: Other times they'll put it, you know, on the bottom.
• 49:15
  Speaker 4: Of the antenna.
• 49:15
Speaker 1: Usually it's yeah, it's two small little connectors and sometimes
• 49:19
Speaker 1: those connectors can fall off.
• 49:21
  Speaker 7: Then.
• 49:21
Speaker 4: But see the thing, no, it was. The thing is
• 49:24
Speaker 4: it's listed in device manager.
• 49:26
  Speaker 3: It's there.
• 49:27
Speaker 5: It shows it in device manager, okay, and it shows
• 49:30
Speaker 5: it in the network connections, but it says it's disabled
• 49:32
Speaker 5: and you try to re enable it, it just disables
• 49:35
Speaker 5: itself again. Have you everything, we googled, it comes up
• 49:38
Speaker 5: with nothing like It's just it's so weird.
• 49:40
Speaker 3: Any any thoughts on this one, Sean or Matt, because
• 49:43
  Speaker 3: you know.
• 49:43
Speaker 4: I mean if if it's in device Manager, the only
• 49:47
Speaker 4: the only thought I could have is is kind of
• 49:50
Speaker 4: where you were walking towards You'd be like, maybe the
• 49:53
Speaker 4: card is in I got bumped or something and it's
• 49:56
Speaker 4: not quite fully seated. It's seated just enough to be
• 50:00
Speaker 4: seen on Device Manager. But no, that that is that
• 50:03
Speaker 4: is absolutely bizarre. But there's three laptops that have done this.
• 50:09
Speaker 6: So are these laptops. Do they have the the the
• 50:12
Speaker 6: M two wireless like the M two wireless ship Cynema
• 50:14
  Speaker 6: that are replaceable.
• 50:16
  Speaker 4: That's a good question.
• 50:17
Speaker 5: I don't know they're there. They make there their higher
• 50:21
Speaker 5: end Dell laptops, the Precision line because the.
• 50:24
Speaker 6: Newer laptops have have seen a trend in the newer
• 50:26
Speaker 6: laptops going with the M two slot wireless cards instead
• 50:30
Speaker 6: of like the PCI cards or the on board on
• 50:34
Speaker 6: board just because they get better performance with Wi Fi
• 50:37
Speaker 6: six and stuff like that too.
• 50:38
Speaker 5: Oh that's an idea saying that something give me got
• 50:41
Speaker 5: jostled loose on the motherboard.
• 50:43
Speaker 3: Could be yeah, could be.
• 50:45
Speaker 4: They've they've they started making the change. The original m
• 50:49
Speaker 4: DOT two slot was just for storage SSD and then
• 50:54
Speaker 4: eventually and VM storage, and then they were like, wait
• 50:57
Speaker 4: a minute, the through put on these ports is ridict
• 51:00
Speaker 4: Why don't we start using it for other things? Kind
• 51:03
Speaker 4: of you know, the way USB happened way back in
• 51:05
Speaker 4: the day. But that that truly is bizarre. And the
• 51:10
Speaker 4: fact if it's one, okay, so somebody dropped it and
• 51:13
Speaker 4: didn't say anything or something like that. But if it's
• 51:15
Speaker 4: if it's three four laptops, that that's it feels. It
• 51:20
Speaker 4: feels like a Windows issue. But and they're all Dell.
• 51:22
Speaker 4: They're all Dell laptops.
• 51:24
Speaker 3: You know. It's funny.
• 51:25
Speaker 1: I opened up a tower system once and they had
• 51:27
Speaker 1: M two They were used for their drives. They couldn't
• 51:30
Speaker 1: find the screw so they couldn't tighten it down, so
• 51:34
Speaker 1: it was it was in, but it was kind of
• 51:36
Speaker 1: like you know, like like as ready to catapult.
• 51:40
Speaker 6: So most we ran into this one we built. We
• 51:43
Speaker 6: ran into this issue when we built my nephew's computer
• 51:46
Speaker 6: and then one of my friend's computers. Drives. They most
• 51:49
Speaker 6: motherboards don't come with an M two socket screw on
• 51:55
Speaker 6: the motherboard, and most drives don't come with one, so
• 51:59
Speaker 6: unless you have one lane round, you're kinda up the
• 52:03
Speaker 6: creek when you put an M two drive in.
• 52:05
Speaker 3: So the way I fixed cars, stay a part off
• 52:07
Speaker 3: somewhere else. All right, Junkyard, we gotta take another quick break.
• 52:12
  Speaker 3: We come back.
• 52:13
Speaker 1: We'll see if we can maybe future research that and
• 52:16
Speaker 1: see what you come up with on that. But we'll
• 52:18
Speaker 1: be back with more of tech Talk Radio.
• 52:20
Speaker 5: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
• 52:23
Speaker 5: and I'm justin. Let me find us on Facebook, Facebook,
• 52:25
Speaker 5: dot com, forward slash tech Talkers.
• 52:27
  Speaker 4: We'll be right.
• 52:27
Speaker 8: Back and now back to tech talk Radio.
• 52:31
Speaker 4: Hey, this is Harold Parano and you listen to the
• 52:33
Speaker 4: geeks on the radio tech Talk Radio.
• 52:35
Speaker 6: So in an earlier segment we talked about me putting
• 52:38
Speaker 6: Windows eleven on my computer and reinstalling all the apps
• 52:41
Speaker 6: and programs that I had, and thanks to Matt for
• 52:44
Speaker 6: mentioning nine Night and I n Ite, I was able
• 52:49
Speaker 6: to download and install Audacity, Dropbox, ever, Note, file Zilla, Gimp,
• 52:54
Speaker 6: Google Drive, Handbrake, metmore bites, Note plus plus, Open Open Off.
• 53:00
Speaker 6: It's real V and C Steam, VLC win AMP when
• 53:04
  Speaker 6: Sep is.
• 53:05
Speaker 4: Seven, somebody's got a good Internet connection.
• 53:10
Speaker 6: And I just hit download it, downloaded them all and
• 53:12
Speaker 6: installed them all in a matter. I mean I did
• 53:14
Speaker 6: it during the show. I did it between when when
• 53:16
Speaker 6: I mentioned it in the show and now and installed
• 53:18
Speaker 6: and I'm now configuring my melor bites. And it was awesome,
• 53:22
Speaker 6: Like it just worked.
• 53:22
Speaker 1: You know the question that listeners would ask us right now,
• 53:25
Speaker 1: is it safe? Be honest, like that scene in Marathon Man,
• 53:28
  Speaker 1: is it safe?
• 53:30
  Speaker 3: It is safe?
• 53:31
  Speaker 8: I have.
• 53:31
Speaker 4: I been using it in my IT career since like
• 53:34
Speaker 4: the very start of my IT career back in well,
• 53:38
Speaker 4: my enterprise Atteker in like twenty twelve, I started using it.
• 53:42
Speaker 4: Where Sean is actually using the free personal version. You
• 53:46
Speaker 4: can actually buy nine Night Enterprise and use that same
• 53:51
Speaker 4: thing and the options to come with that. It's like, okay,
• 53:54
Speaker 4: you can set it to a media that you hand around,
• 53:56
Speaker 4: you can do network installs, you can look at all
• 53:59
Speaker 4: the computers that are on it and manage updates everything
• 54:03
Speaker 4: like that. Like it is the question of is it safe?
• 54:06
Speaker 4: It is safe, and it's awesome. I've been using it
• 54:11
Speaker 4: for fourteen years at this point.
• 54:13
Speaker 6: Now they have very easy Yeah, yes, n Night dot com.
• 54:17
Speaker 6: But it was very easy. I just went to it,
• 54:19
Speaker 6: clicked to the programs I wanted, hit download. It gave
• 54:22
Speaker 6: me a download file. I clicked on it and it
• 54:24
Speaker 6: said installing. It just went through the list.
• 54:27
Speaker 3: So it just bulks installs them and then it tells
• 54:29
Speaker 3: you when you're done.
• 54:30
Speaker 6: I mean it took it took a matter of less
• 54:33
  Speaker 6: than ten minutes.
• 54:33
Speaker 4: It's awesome. And the big part of that is the
• 54:36
Speaker 4: installer that it provides you is customized to the options
• 54:40
Speaker 4: you chose on the site. So choosing those like fifteen
• 54:43
Speaker 4: programs that Seawan listed off, they all come in that
• 54:45
Speaker 4: custom downloader. If you chose thirteen of them, you get
• 54:49
  Speaker 4: the custom downloader.
• 54:50
Speaker 3: It's great stuff. Man.
• 54:51
Speaker 1: We still have a lot more to talk about for
• 54:53
Speaker 1: this week, but we'll hold it for next week. If
• 54:55
Speaker 1: you have a question or comment to us, drop us
• 54:57
Speaker 1: an email. Tech guys at tech talk radio dot com
• 55:00
Speaker 1: met a couple of people that called into the afternoon
• 55:03
Speaker 1: radios this week and actually said, hey, I'm listening, so
• 55:05
Speaker 1: thank you and tell your friends.
• 55:06
Speaker 3: About the show as well. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean
• 55:09
  Speaker 3: de Weird.
• 55:10
Speaker 4: I'm Matt Jones glad to be back and I'm justin.
• 55:12
Speaker 4: Let me thank you all for listening and have yourselves
• 55:14
Speaker 4: great week. We'll see you next time.
