- 2:51Speaker 1: coming up next week, share it, Share it with other
- 2:57Speaker 1: hip hop heads, your group chats, know different people online
- 3:02Speaker 1: who you typically talk hip hop, right, it is hip
- 3:04Speaker 1: hop Twitter, but there's also like hip hop Instagram and
- 3:07Speaker 1: all of that share it in these places where people
- 3:11Speaker 1: can be exposed to the content because you like it,
- 3:15Speaker 1: you know. So we need to talk, and we got
- 3:20Speaker 1: to get to business real quick. So big shout out
- 3:22Speaker 1: to Hotnew hip Hop dot Com, social media in general
- 3:26Speaker 1: and a couple of places where I get my stories from.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Let's get ready to the business. Same. So this is
- 3:33Speaker 1: this is like brand new to me because I didn't know,
- 3:38Speaker 1: you know, I look at the news, but you know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's just so much news and information on social media
- 3:45Speaker 1: and in general and not just hip hop that this
- 3:49Speaker 1: one escaped me. But the title says and this is
- 3:51Speaker 1: on Hotnew hip Hop dot Com. Ebro claims popular woman
- 3:56Speaker 1: Rapper told him most female MC fans don't like rap.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That's crazy. Let's see what we're saying. So it says
- 4:07Speaker 1: Ebro was on his live show today where he told
- 4:10Speaker 1: his co hosts that one female MC wasn't exactly pleased
- 4:15Speaker 1: with her fan base over the plot dickens. Okay, let's see,
- 4:19Speaker 1: we can just get straight to ebros quote. Here we go.
- 4:25Speaker 1: There are a lot of hip hop fans that are
- 4:27Speaker 1: Drake fans and Kendrick fans. This is what Rosenberg said.
- 4:31Speaker 1: But there's also a sect of Drake and Kendrick fans
- 4:35Speaker 1: that are not hip hop fans. They were just rooting
- 4:38Speaker 1: for them in a battle. There are they're like team supporters.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So let's see what Ebro said following that there's so
- 4:48Speaker 1: many ads in this site. This is Ebro now this audio,
- 4:54Speaker 1: but I'm not gonna play it because I'm gonna just
- 4:56Speaker 1: keep it one hundred with y'all, like sometimes it's a pain,
- 5:00Speaker 1: but I'll quote it. This is Ebro talking about the
- 5:04Speaker 1: female MC who told them that female fans don't really
- 5:10Speaker 1: like rap, even if they're fans of this female artists.
- 5:14Speaker 1: She said, the problem that a lot of women who
- 5:17Speaker 1: rap have is that most of those fans who like
- 5:20Speaker 1: women rappers, they're not hip hop fans. They're fans of
- 5:23Speaker 1: that woman, her esthetic, where she's from, whatever she was. Like,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I grew up a hip hop fan. I want all
- 5:31Speaker 1: of it, the ratchet stuff, the smart stuff, the street stuff,
- 5:34Speaker 1: the pop stuff. Now I know why he would avoid
- 5:42Speaker 1: saying who this is because we all know sometimes there's
- 5:47Speaker 1: a quote or statement or depending on who the person is,
- 5:50Speaker 1: it may bring some unwanted attention. But I think the
- 5:56Speaker 1: benefit was that last line from this female EMC, because
- 6:01Speaker 1: that is the description of a big girl. A b
- 6:05Speaker 1: girl is a hip hop head. They don't care what
- 6:08Speaker 1: it is. They don't care if it's male female. They
- 6:11Speaker 1: there for the bars, like she said, they're here for
- 6:13Speaker 1: the ratchet stuff, the street stuff. They're here for all
- 6:17Speaker 1: of it. But to Rosenberg and Ebro's point, or this
- 6:25Speaker 1: female MC's point, it's so true. There's so many casuals
- 6:33Speaker 1: in the game commenting on the game more than ever,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and it has a lot to do with social media
- 6:43Speaker 1: and feeling like you play a role in the conversation,
- 6:47Speaker 1: no matter how significant or low. People want to join
- 6:51Speaker 1: in the conversation. And that's great because that's what's at
- 6:54Speaker 1: its core, that's what social media is for, right, for
- 6:57Speaker 1: you to kind of congregate talk about things. But there
- 7:02Speaker 1: are a lot of people who aren't as invested as
- 7:06Speaker 1: they would like to say, and that's when you get
- 7:09Speaker 1: into the fake shit. Yes, we curse on this podcast now,
- 7:13Speaker 1: or at least this one, but you know what I mean,
- 7:17Speaker 1: It's like it's more important to start the conversation right
- 7:23Speaker 1: because then you can be like, yo, this tweet went viral,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you know, and you feel like you had a little
- 7:28Speaker 1: celebrity status because of social media. And it's fine, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I get it. A couple of people who you're fans
- 7:35Speaker 1: of or important people in the community of hip hop,
- 7:39Speaker 1: you know, like your joint retweet start talking to you,
- 7:42Speaker 1: follow you, whatever it may be. It can feel good
- 7:45Speaker 1: because you admire them, so you're excited that they admire you.
- 7:50Speaker 1: But there's so many people who are thirsty to even
- 7:55Speaker 1: be at that level that they will spend every day.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure during that battle on both sides, right,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm a Drake and a Kendrick fan. Right, it wasn't
- 8:06Speaker 1: really about picking side. I just wanted to see the battle, right,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm from the hood. I want to see
- 8:12Speaker 1: the fight. You know, Like sometimes the fight go down,
- 8:14Speaker 1: you know, two of the people. You don't break it
- 8:16Speaker 1: up real quick, like yoh love, let me see real quick,
- 8:18Speaker 1: let me see what happened. And when they get too series,
- 8:21Speaker 1: that's when you break it up. Right, That's how I
- 8:24Speaker 1: felt as a fan of Drake's music and a fan
- 8:27Speaker 1: of kendricks music. Now, Kendrick's style and everything else is
- 8:33Speaker 1: probably closer to who I am what I relate to
- 8:36Speaker 1: than Drake's. But at the end of the day, for
- 8:39Speaker 1: me and my life, they're both still entertainers. Right. Some
- 8:43Speaker 1: people don't feel that way. Some people feel like they
- 8:46Speaker 1: got to pick a side they like. They especially pocket watching,
- 8:51Speaker 1: they like. They think Drake got more money, and that's
- 8:55Speaker 1: something they like. They on Drake's side, they like his songs,
- 8:59Speaker 1: better understand his music there on that side. Same thing
- 9:03Speaker 1: with Kendrick, Right, you feel like, Yo, I liked the
- 9:06Speaker 1: fact that he's conscious, but he's also popular music. You know,
- 9:11Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about, and it just turns into
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know, casuals and stands and fans and hip hop
- 9:19Speaker 1: heads and just a whole battle. So going back to
- 9:25Speaker 1: her specifically pointing out female fans of hers, it's also true,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but it's not exclusively true when it comes to the
- 9:36Speaker 1: females because there's a lot of guys who do the
- 9:39Speaker 1: exact same thing. Any guy who was watching that battle
- 9:44Speaker 1: and decided to talk about who sold more records, they
- 9:48Speaker 1: identified themselves. You're not a hip hop head, You're not
- 9:53Speaker 1: even a guest. You snuck in, get out, Okay. So
- 9:59Speaker 1: I mean, at the end of the day, that's kind
- 10:01Speaker 1: of what it is, and it's unfortunate, but it's where
- 10:05Speaker 1: we are because I remember there was a shift in
- 10:07Speaker 1: the early two thousands, and shout out to the HOMIOK.
- 10:10Speaker 1: We used to talk about this when he was hosting
- 10:14Speaker 1: The Baltimore Show, a strictly Hip hop on WEAA eighty
- 10:17Speaker 1: eight point NINEFM that I once was a host of
- 10:21Speaker 1: as well. But we were talking about that shift, like, Yo,
- 10:26Speaker 1: these kids coming up and this is not even the
- 10:29Speaker 1: kids now, like the adults. Like these kids coming up,
- 10:34Speaker 1: they just cared more about how cool somebody is. They
- 10:38Speaker 1: don't care that Rick Ross was a CEO. So I
- 10:41Speaker 1: mean I don't care either. But back in the days,
- 10:46Speaker 1: that would have been a death kiss to Rick Ross, right,
- 10:53Speaker 1: not that rappers need to commit crimes in real life
- 10:56Speaker 1: because then they all would be locked up, but to
- 10:59Speaker 1: just know that he's talking this way and he was
- 11:03Speaker 1: a CEO, that would have been it. But there are
- 11:05Speaker 1: people who again like his aesthetic, he's rich, they like
- 11:09Speaker 1: his status, they like the people who he's connected to.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So the music is almost like last on the list,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and I could see that for some female fans. So
- 11:20Speaker 1: the only thing I'll say that's wrong about that statement
- 11:22Speaker 1: is that it only signaled out the female friends are
- 11:26Speaker 1: fans when same goes for the males, and not just
- 11:30Speaker 1: with male artists. Some of them just like styles, right.
- 11:36Speaker 1: You know, you may prefer what Bahamadia and Rod Digger
- 11:40Speaker 1: were compared to Little Kim and Foxy everybody rapping. Everybody
- 11:48Speaker 1: got dope songs. But you may prefer that or vice versus.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So I don't know, leave your comments in a comment
- 11:55Speaker 1: section below, let me know what you think about that statement.
- 11:59Speaker 1: It'd be dope to know who told Ebro this, but
- 12:02Speaker 1: I get why he didn't put it out there. So next,
- 12:08Speaker 1: so the game has been teasing for a little bit
- 12:13Speaker 1: that another sequel to the documentary was on the way,
- 12:20Speaker 1: this being the documentary. Three. Yes, there's been three of them.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I know some people like what three? I thought he
- 12:30Speaker 1: just had the one. No, there's been three or there
- 12:33Speaker 1: are three now, And y'all know how I do when
- 12:36Speaker 1: it comes to reviews, I give it basically. I listened
- 12:41Speaker 1: to it three times. First time impressions, second time, I'm
- 12:46Speaker 1: going to listen a little deeper to lyrics, concepts, all
- 12:49Speaker 1: that good stuff, beats. And then the third listen is
- 12:52Speaker 1: just to confirm my thoughts and for those who need
- 12:54Speaker 1: a quick review, it's okay. Could have been better. Trim
- 13:01Speaker 1: some of those songs off and make one album instead
- 13:03Speaker 1: of a double album could have been better, but it's cool.
- 13:08Speaker 1: So the documentary three by Game, which is now released,
- 13:11Speaker 1: is essentially a double album, similar to the documentary two
- 13:16Speaker 1: or two point five. I think that's the same thing,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but I don't know. Game just be doing too much.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But there are basically twenty four tracks on here double album.
- 13:28Speaker 1: The album comes in at an hour and twenty eight minutes.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Features of there are a lot of features on here,
- 13:35Speaker 1: like Black Thought, Marsha and Bros Is on here, who Else?
- 13:39Speaker 1: Eve Forty's on here, production from Mike and Keys, who Else?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Cool and Dre had some production on here. Party next
- 13:49Speaker 1: Door is on here. I'm spoiler alert that was a
- 13:52Speaker 1: straight up skip. I didn't even hear the end of
- 13:54Speaker 1: that record. Kanye's on this album, Drake's on his album,
- 14:00Speaker 1: Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg, and there are a couple
- 14:04Speaker 1: of other people on here. And this is why I
- 14:09Speaker 1: say what I said about this album. I argue for
- 14:14Speaker 1: Game all the time on social media, just unprovoked. I'll
- 14:18Speaker 1: just be like yo, Game got a couple of albums
- 14:20Speaker 1: that could be considered classics. Nineteen ninety three, Go look
- 14:24Speaker 1: it up. Very dope album. I'm just saying, very dope album.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But the problem with Game when he releases great music
- 14:35Speaker 1: is he always gets in a way of its own progress.
- 14:40Speaker 1: He has become synonymous with antics and being considered in
- 14:47Speaker 1: a tensionhre and seo raps if you know what I mean,
- 14:56Speaker 1: algorithm chaser or let's just keep the things going like
- 15:01Speaker 1: algorithm aggressor or whatever. You know what I'm saying, Avenger adventurer,
- 15:07Speaker 1: whatever way you want to slice it. He does things
- 15:14Speaker 1: to get attention on his music, like Kanye, because for
- 15:20Speaker 1: Kanye it used to work, right. Kanye would say something crazy,
- 15:25Speaker 1: and I'm talking about Kanye's been doing this for a
- 15:28Speaker 1: long time. It's not just recent, but he would say
- 15:32Speaker 1: something or do something, and then not that long after that,
- 15:35Speaker 1: an album would drop, an album would be dope, and
- 15:38Speaker 1: everybody would love him. And I feel like Game sometimes
- 15:42Speaker 1: tries to do that right, but it always backfires. Anytime
- 15:47Speaker 1: you decide you're going straight up this eminem in a
- 15:49Speaker 1: ten minute song, and eminem doesn't respond, and hip hop
- 15:54Speaker 1: basically doesn't respond, you look real sad. You just do.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And I hate that because when I press play on
- 16:03Speaker 1: games albums, I find more hot music and bars, but
- 16:10Speaker 1: most people aren't willing to even press play because of
- 16:13Speaker 1: all this stuff he does outside of it. It's just
- 16:19Speaker 1: it's just distasteful. So when we get into the album,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, like this, the album don't start
- 16:23Speaker 1: until track now, before the Life. Those first three songs,
- 16:28Speaker 1: they're not whack, but they were so blood man subpar
- 16:34Speaker 1: in concept and delivery and beats in some cases that
- 16:41Speaker 1: I was already disappointed. But I knew there was twenty
- 16:44Speaker 1: four tracks. I'm like, all right, the whole album can't
- 16:48Speaker 1: sound like this. And the only reason why I say that,
- 16:51Speaker 1: let me just get into that real quick is the
- 16:54Speaker 1: opening track, Jesus is cool, but you know it didn't
- 16:57Speaker 1: get me amped, but it was cool. Love It or
- 17:00Speaker 1: Hated is a sequel to Hate It or Love It
- 17:04Speaker 1: featuring fifty Cent, But on this album, Love It, I
- 17:08Speaker 1: Hated Hated features Snoop Dogg and it features basically the
- 17:12Speaker 1: same beat, and it's not good to me. It to
- 17:16Speaker 1: me is like leave it alone, leave that song alone.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And it's a theme this this is a theme throughout
- 17:22Speaker 1: the album, and I'm going to tell you what that
- 17:24Speaker 1: theme is a little bit and a little bit. Then
- 17:27Speaker 1: there's Steppers, the third track featuring Lil Wayne. Now, after
- 17:30Speaker 1: hearing Lil Wayne and Buster on that Jay Diller beat,
- 17:34Speaker 1: talkya shit that came out like a week or so ago,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and Lil Wayne sound fresh and revived. I mean it
- 17:41Speaker 1: could be old, you know, but who cares. Everybody was
- 17:45Speaker 1: height like, Yo, this prime Wayne rapping right here? This
- 17:50Speaker 1: one is it? Steppers? I was like daydreaming while I
- 17:56Speaker 1: was in the gym, I was forgetting to listen. Just
- 18:00Speaker 1: took me away. But then when we get tracked number four,
- 18:02Speaker 1: the life things pick up game Game proves me right
- 18:08Speaker 1: everything I said. The boy can rap. He can rap.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Like stop looking at all them antics and all the
- 18:15Speaker 1: things he's done. We know he does it. Man, he's
- 18:18Speaker 1: light skinned like my kids. They can't help it sometimes. Okay,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm just saying, but track four, it's the game. I know,
- 18:28Speaker 1: it's it's the sound and the lyrics and the delivery
- 18:35Speaker 1: and the cadens that to me keeps probably keeps his
- 18:41Speaker 1: fans checking his music because I know it does for me.
- 18:45Speaker 1: And then you know, there's a there's a couple of
- 18:46Speaker 1: songs like I like the song twenty Deep with Mike
- 18:49Speaker 1: and Keys. That song is That song is fire. I
- 18:53Speaker 1: even like the song with Drake No Breaks. Now it's
- 18:56Speaker 1: clearly a Drake sounding song, but there's a theme. Remember
- 19:00Speaker 1: I told you there's a theme happening here. Just stay tuned.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I like the song Sticks that comes on after that,
- 19:07Speaker 1: right geeking. Even forty Nights with Kanye, like Do for
- 19:14Speaker 1: Love was okay, but this is where things get a
- 19:18Speaker 1: little tricky. Forty Knights is the tenth track on here,
- 19:22Speaker 1: the song with Kanye West and Mike and Keys, and
- 19:27Speaker 1: I kind of feel like, you know, that first ten
- 19:31Speaker 1: tracks it's good because most of it was good, damn
- 19:36Speaker 1: the all of it, except for those maybe those two
- 19:38Speaker 1: tracks Snooping, Little Lil Wayne, Like those are the ones
- 19:42Speaker 1: where I was just like, I'll probably never listen to
- 19:44Speaker 1: these again. But out of two out of ten being
- 19:48Speaker 1: bad is not bad. So that's that's a great first
- 19:51Speaker 1: half of the album. By the time we get to
- 19:54Speaker 1: Do for Love, it becomes clear to me, like, oh,
- 19:58Speaker 1: Game said, this is for the ladies, because several of
- 20:03Speaker 1: the tracks not The rest of the second half he
- 20:07Speaker 1: does get back into his bag towards the end, but
- 20:10Speaker 1: definitely track eleven to let me see that kind of
- 20:17Speaker 1: mixes up. But trust me, it's a lot more tracks
- 20:22Speaker 1: that are for the ladies. Starting with track eleven. Do
- 20:27Speaker 1: for Love was cool, but again, all I could think
- 20:32Speaker 1: of is Tupac you sucker for love, and like do
- 20:37Speaker 1: for Love, and this just isn't or says do you
- 20:41Speaker 1: love me? My bad? I'm thinking of a sample I
- 20:44Speaker 1: heard on him do you Love Me? I like do
- 20:46Speaker 1: you Love Me? I like the concept. I like they waited,
- 20:50Speaker 1: the way they laid the song out. It's once you
- 20:54Speaker 1: get to the run it up song with Leon Thomas. Now,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I like Leon Thomas a lot, but there's a part
- 21:01Speaker 1: of me that feels like, and here we go with
- 21:03Speaker 1: the themes that while A had the perfect rap R
- 21:11Speaker 1: and B nostalgic nineties R and B style album last year,
- 21:17Speaker 1: that's what it is. So now when I hear samples
- 21:21Speaker 1: or anything referencing something from that album, and not that
- 21:26Speaker 1: Leon Thomas hasn't been on everybody's album, and not that
- 21:29Speaker 1: Game hasn't done songs like this before, I start to
- 21:32Speaker 1: feel the kind of way not because that one song
- 21:35Speaker 1: but because they're way more after that. So right after
- 21:39Speaker 1: that party at Games featuring Party next Door, that was
- 21:43Speaker 1: an instant. It was the only one I didn't listen
- 21:45Speaker 1: too straight through because I was like, man, this is garbage,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and I skipped it after a while, right, and then
- 21:52Speaker 1: the song Baby comes on and I'm like, oh man,
- 21:54Speaker 1: we in full on for the ladies' mode, and again,
- 21:58Speaker 1: not the worst song, but it started to take away
- 22:03Speaker 1: from the momentum of that first half. Then in the Way,
- 22:10Speaker 1: which features Tiger, and I was like, hey, can we stop?
- 22:17Speaker 1: The ladies are diet okay? And then there's a song
- 22:21Speaker 1: called the Part that is clearly a gn X style record,
- 22:29Speaker 1: and it also features Lefty gunplay. That song with Drake
- 22:35Speaker 1: was also kind of like a gn X style. Now
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'm not saying Game is never made or wrapped over
- 22:41Speaker 1: these types of beats, but it just reminded me, and
- 22:45Speaker 1: Game reminds you throughout the album. By mentioning gn X
- 22:48Speaker 1: about five six times, the same thing he mentions Kendrake
- 22:52Speaker 1: about five or six times, not disc records, right, but
- 22:56Speaker 1: just acknowledging the difference between those two and on one
- 23:01Speaker 1: song later acknowledging that directly acknowledging that him and Kendrick
- 23:07Speaker 1: have no beef. Right, But here you are making all
- 23:11Speaker 1: these GNX references and GNX style songs, and now you
- 23:16Speaker 1: got left the Gunplay not saying you never recorded with him,
- 23:19Speaker 1: but we know what Kendrick having him on his album
- 23:23Speaker 1: did for Lefty Gunplay. Okay, I think he won a Grammy. Yay,
- 23:27Speaker 1: he actually did win a Grammy. So after that, it's
- 23:34Speaker 1: a joint called Hella that features E forty and the
- 23:39Speaker 1: game starts out rapping like E forty is the theme again.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'll get to the theme at the very end. Watch,
- 23:45Speaker 1: but you should be able to catch it. What I'm saying,
- 23:49Speaker 1: nothing to hide. I ain't gonna lie. I don't even
- 23:51Speaker 1: remember that record, but I think it was cool. La Monster.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I kind of like that joint. Then game has a
- 23:59Speaker 1: song I don't call Meet the Parents. Y'all remember Blueprint
- 24:04Speaker 1: two jay Z probably one of his best storytelling songs
- 24:09Speaker 1: of all time. Game has a song called meet the Parents. Now,
- 24:13Speaker 1: what I do like about this is the fact that
- 24:16Speaker 1: the game shows a lot of emotion and his story
- 24:20Speaker 1: is a lot about his life, and I think this
- 24:23Speaker 1: is probably Game's most honest record to date. Like, you
- 24:29Speaker 1: know how I say, like he gets in the way
- 24:31Speaker 1: of himself and kind of comes across as an attention
- 24:33Speaker 1: hore and blah blah blah and all these negative things
- 24:37Speaker 1: that suggest there's some insecurities in him. And insecurities can
- 24:43Speaker 1: come off of a based off experience. We're not all
- 24:45Speaker 1: teflon dons and shields. I have insecurities as well. But
- 24:49Speaker 1: I like the fact that he used that concept to
- 24:53Speaker 1: express his own feelings about his parents and neighborhood. And
- 24:58Speaker 1: you know, it's a lot of things you heard before,
- 25:00Speaker 1: but he has a lot of emotion behind it. So
- 25:03Speaker 1: I felt like that was an adulte record just for
- 25:05Speaker 1: the power behind it, or be it the same title
- 25:10Speaker 1: as jay Z's song Meet the Parents. Thing. Okay, just wait,
- 25:15Speaker 1: just wait. The pen he got some he got some
- 25:20Speaker 1: crazy bars on here. I'm not gonna lie. First, I
- 25:23Speaker 1: was like, okay, the pen. There was one line I
- 25:26Speaker 1: can't remember it, and I was like, ooh, I like that,
- 25:29Speaker 1: and it just reminded me. It reminded me what I said, like,
- 25:32Speaker 1: y'all be sleeping. The boy can rap. He can rap rap.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Not that boy, not that Canadian dude. This one he
- 25:41Speaker 1: can rap. He can get busy, but he just gets
- 25:48Speaker 1: in his own way sometimes. Then the Cookout featuring Larry June.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I am not the biggest Larry June fan, but this
- 25:56Speaker 1: one's cool. I like Larry June over some real West
- 26:00Speaker 1: Coast sound and stuff, right or I do like him
- 26:05Speaker 1: as a part of the album that was out earlier
- 26:10Speaker 1: this year with I Think a Spiral Staircase with Alchemist
- 26:14Speaker 1: Currency and Larry June. This record was cool. I Won't
- 26:19Speaker 1: be Afraid I Believe has a shade sample features Black Thought.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think Black Thought is on a hook. I can't
- 26:28Speaker 1: remember if we had a verse. This is a double album.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I haven't listened to a double album. I had to
- 26:31Speaker 1: listen to a double album three times in a row. Okay,
- 26:37Speaker 1: but it's a cool record. The last record I really like.
- 26:41Speaker 1: It's called Game Recognized Game. It features Marsha and Brosia
- 26:45Speaker 1: and se Levy or Selvie. I don't know how to pronounce
- 26:51Speaker 1: her name. But this is Game taking a concept of
- 26:58Speaker 1: Game in twenty two talking to Game at the start
- 27:03Speaker 1: of his career and throughout his career, and it's more
- 27:07Speaker 1: of a I'm immature and I'm mature. Now we know
- 27:12Speaker 1: you're not mature because you keep doing these immature moves
- 27:16Speaker 1: before every album. But if you didn't know anything about
- 27:21Speaker 1: all those antics and you just listen to the music,
- 27:24Speaker 1: this is dope record. This is one of the best
- 27:27Speaker 1: because a lot of a lot of rappers have kind
- 27:32Speaker 1: of done the especially I'm talking more so like Famous.
- 27:35Speaker 1: If we don't know who you are, dog, we don't
- 27:37Speaker 1: know what you were like when you were a kid,
- 27:38Speaker 1: unless you got a great story, okay, But him talking
- 27:44Speaker 1: to himself, his younger self and referencing the things he
- 27:49Speaker 1: went through through his life is dope because you get
- 27:53Speaker 1: young games mindset, which you kind of know right like
- 27:56Speaker 1: with the fifty cent g unit situation, you kind of
- 27:59Speaker 1: know him, but then you get older game that gives
- 28:04Speaker 1: you his perspective on those decisions today. And I think
- 28:10Speaker 1: that's very dope. Now, theme wise, somebody just did this Nas,
- 28:19Speaker 1: Nasty Nas, Escabar, remember Nas and DJ Premier and NAS's
- 28:26Speaker 1: I think he basically, well you spoiler alert, I guess
- 28:29Speaker 1: he kills Nasty Nas and Escabar to be who he
- 28:33Speaker 1: is today. It's kind of like similar in a lot
- 28:36Speaker 1: of ways. But the Nas joint what I liked a
- 28:42Speaker 1: lot about that joint is Nasty Nas sound like Nasty Nas,
- 28:47Speaker 1: Esco sound and rapped like Escobar and New Nas I
- 28:52Speaker 1: guess twenty twenty six sound like himself. So it really
- 28:57Speaker 1: felt like three versions of Nas all rapping on the
- 29:01Speaker 1: same track. Here. I had to listen to the words
- 29:07Speaker 1: to know current game versus back in the day's game,
- 29:11Speaker 1: because current game is clear, you know he all you know,
- 29:15Speaker 1: his voice is low. He's like, yo, I didn't do
- 29:17Speaker 1: that back then. I need to bib it right while
- 29:20Speaker 1: he's trying to spit the wisdom. I guess that's the
- 29:21Speaker 1: wisdom coming out. But then younger game is not like,
- 29:24Speaker 1: really aggressive, so you can't tell the difference. He's also like, yeah,
- 29:29Speaker 1: I'm about to go shoot up this shoot at fifty
- 29:32Speaker 1: cent and it's like, oh wait a minute, Okay, so
- 29:34Speaker 1: that's the younger one because he's talking about something that
- 29:36Speaker 1: happened in the past. But if you don't know all
- 29:38Speaker 1: of this, you don't know who's talking to who. Now
- 29:42Speaker 1: I know, I said it's a great song, but it's
- 29:44Speaker 1: a great song because I have context, and I just
- 29:47Speaker 1: gave you context. But if you're listening straight up, you
- 29:52Speaker 1: might be like, yeah, who's talking to who fan. I
- 29:56Speaker 1: don't know, so all in all, the theme that I
- 30:02Speaker 1: was alluding to, and I know we're going along on this,
- 30:05Speaker 1: but this is double album post is. The game takes
- 30:13Speaker 1: a lot of styles, a lot of ideas, a lot
- 30:16Speaker 1: of hooks, and he flips them in most cases. But
- 30:22Speaker 1: it's excessive, right, I just said something right, game recognized.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Game is similar to what we just heard from Nas
- 30:30Speaker 1: with Nasty Nas Esco Escobar Nas. Right the joint with
- 30:36Speaker 1: Eve forty, he's rapping like Eve forty. Meet the Parents
- 30:39Speaker 1: is a jay Z song that was pretty popular with
- 30:43Speaker 1: jay Z. I like what he did with it, but
- 30:46Speaker 1: it is the part featuring Left the Gunplay feels Nyg's
- 30:52Speaker 1: on here feels like a gn X type song, you know,
- 30:56Speaker 1: same feel style. I don't even know if Left the
- 30:58Speaker 1: Gunplay has a verse. I do remember like him saying
- 31:03Speaker 1: a hook the party at games sounds like a Drake record.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep going there's another record. You know, maybe
- 31:17Speaker 1: I'm reaching, but it kind of reminded me of what
- 31:20Speaker 1: while they did, and I'm I'm pretty sure one of
- 31:23Speaker 1: them was running up with Leon Leon Thomas and there's
- 31:28Speaker 1: there's a couple of themes and you know, lastly love it.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I hate it. It's Game doing games, so it's like
- 31:35Speaker 1: he's he's not name dropping as much as he used to,
- 31:41Speaker 1: but he's doing it in a very different way. He's
- 31:43Speaker 1: doing it with themes like and I don't know how
- 31:47Speaker 1: to feel about that, because I wasn't a fan of
- 31:49Speaker 1: the documentary because at first I thought it was cool.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, his name is the Game, so
- 31:55Speaker 1: he's gonna reference all of these hip hop artists in
- 31:59Speaker 1: more moments and stuff like that. But then I realized, like, well,
- 32:02Speaker 1: we don't really know about you until he dropped Doctor's
- 32:05Speaker 1: Advocate and then he had more of an identity. So
- 32:10Speaker 1: with that being said, documentary three is cool. I think
- 32:15Speaker 1: the DJ Drama mixtape was better, but this isn't bad.
- 32:20Speaker 1: So if you're a game fan, most of the stuff
- 32:25Speaker 1: you would like, Like, honestly, if you really took the
- 32:28Speaker 1: best out of this, you can make a fire probably
- 32:31Speaker 1: close to classic album, like if it was you just
- 32:33Speaker 1: took fifteen songs off of here, But that's not the case.
- 32:38Speaker 1: We got to review it as it is, and it's cool.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You know, I'm going to run it back because there's
- 32:45Speaker 1: a lot of records I do like, but there will
- 32:48Speaker 1: be way more skips in subsequent listens, you know, so
- 32:55Speaker 1: we'll see. Have you heard the game's album? Do you
- 32:58Speaker 1: even check out games music? Leave your thoughts in the
- 33:01Speaker 1: section below. And lastly, so y'all, I'm going to try
- 33:12Speaker 1: to make this quick because this is basically a long
- 33:16Speaker 1: episode and I don't like to do those, but at
- 33:21Speaker 1: the same time, I feel like this is necessary. So
- 33:29Speaker 1: if you don't know Keith E. D who was a
- 33:35Speaker 1: Compton crept back in the days, associated with bad Boy
- 33:39Speaker 1: for security purposes and on that side of the East
- 33:44Speaker 1: Coast West Coast War where you know, you know Sugar
- 33:47Speaker 1: Knight had the bloods on his side, and the whole
- 33:52Speaker 1: history and rumors of how Tupac was murdered, right And
- 33:59Speaker 1: for those who don't know who listening and you know,
- 34:02Speaker 1: may not have all the details, I'm not going to
- 34:04Speaker 1: go through all of them, but essentially the events that
- 34:10Speaker 1: really led up to it is one the tension between
- 34:15Speaker 1: both camps, really Shug and Diddy that you know how
- 34:20Speaker 1: that goes if you both running with the entourages, the
- 34:23Speaker 1: beef is on, and there's so many things that happened
- 34:26Speaker 1: in between that showed you that there was no love
- 34:30Speaker 1: on that, you know on the other side, especially once
- 34:33Speaker 1: Tupac came to Death Row. That's kind of what Tupac
- 34:36Speaker 1: kind of wrung the alarm on beef with bad Boy.
- 34:41Speaker 1: But the actual events Las Vegas that led up to
- 34:46Speaker 1: Tupac's murder had to do with a chain being snatched
- 34:51Speaker 1: from a death Ro camp person early in the week,
- 34:56Speaker 1: and the one of the assailants, right who beat up
- 35:02Speaker 1: this dude happened to be Keithy's d's nephew, right, baby Lane.
- 35:08Speaker 1: And that's the video you see of Death Row Tupac,
- 35:14Speaker 1: you know, sug Knight jumping somebody in the Las Vegas
- 35:18Speaker 1: hotel after the Mike Tyson fight, right, and the or
- 35:22Speaker 1: casino after the Mike Tyson I think it was Bruce
- 35:26Speaker 1: Selden fight. Was Bruce Sheldon took a dive. I'm just saying,
- 35:30Speaker 1: I'll watch boxing. He took a dive because he wasn't hurt.
- 35:33Speaker 1: He didn't want to get hit no more though, So
- 35:37Speaker 1: that happens, and as a story as you know it,
- 35:40Speaker 1: you know, Tupac and Suge Knight are now driving to
- 35:46Speaker 1: Shugs Club in Vegas. I think it's called six six
- 35:48Speaker 1: to two and somebody shoots up the car, and the
- 35:54Speaker 1: longstanding history and known in the streets was that Keith
- 36:00Speaker 1: d his nephew who was jumped Baby Lane, and two
- 36:04Speaker 1: other guys were in the car and they were the
- 36:07Speaker 1: ones who shot up the car with Tupac in it,
- 36:11Speaker 1: where She'll got graized in the head and Tupac took
- 36:16Speaker 1: multiple shots and died the following week. From that and
- 36:24Speaker 1: right now, and this is like thirty years later, this
- 36:27Speaker 1: is the first time anybody has been on trial for
- 36:31Speaker 1: Tupac's murder. And if you're asking yourself, like, damn it
- 36:36Speaker 1: took thirty years for that, well, yeah, because the rumor
- 36:39Speaker 1: is that Crooking cops were involved in some way, and
- 36:45Speaker 1: there was one theory that they did the shooting, but
- 36:51Speaker 1: mostly in the Biggie murder, which is also connected. But
- 36:57Speaker 1: then also them knowing something was going to happen and
- 37:02Speaker 1: letting it happen is the theory, right or the word
- 37:07Speaker 1: on the street. Now, I know you asked yourself thirty
- 37:11Speaker 1: years later, you know what's going on? Where is everybody?
- 37:13Speaker 1: Everybody in that car that's allegedly shot up Sugar Night's
- 37:19Speaker 1: car with Tupac in it is dead except for KEFD
- 37:24Speaker 1: and in most cases died a long time ago, especially
- 37:27Speaker 1: Baby Lane. And the only reason why Keifd is on
- 37:34Speaker 1: trial for murder beyond being the person who was allegedly
- 37:38Speaker 1: in the car, it is because he ran his mouth.
- 37:46Speaker 1: And I just have one example of that. So Keith D.
- 37:49Speaker 1: When he was released for prison on something else a
- 37:52Speaker 1: few years ago, he released a book called Compton Street
- 37:56Speaker 1: Legend Notreus kefd's street level accounts of Tupac and Biggie's murders,
- 38:03Speaker 1: death Row origins, sug Night, Puffy Combs and crooked Cops.
- 38:08Speaker 1: They put all that seo in there. They want you
- 38:11Speaker 1: to look at that type and be like, oh, I'm
- 38:12Speaker 1: buying this. And for those who are wondering, I didn't
- 38:15Speaker 1: buy this, are you crazy? I'm not supporting that man.
- 38:18Speaker 1: He killed Tupac. You know what I'm saying. And I'll
- 38:23Speaker 1: tell you why I believe that. I believe that because
- 38:28Speaker 1: the statue of limitations were over when keiv D was
- 38:32Speaker 1: released from prison. And you know, like I know, if
- 38:34Speaker 1: you are on YouTube, every street legend from every town
- 38:40Speaker 1: can get a little bag if he's willing to come
- 38:42Speaker 1: on these content creators YouTube channels and talk about it
- 38:47Speaker 1: in detail, so it's a way to come out of
- 38:51Speaker 1: jail and get a bag right away. And why him
- 38:54Speaker 1: because this is KEVD and Tupac and Biggie's murders are
- 38:58Speaker 1: unsolved and the statute of limitations is up for him.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And he also back in I think two thousand and eight,
- 39:06Speaker 1: before he was free, was telling on tape because he
- 39:12Speaker 1: had immunity. So he told the stories in detail back
- 39:20Speaker 1: then in two thousand and eight. And when did this
- 39:22Speaker 1: one come out, I'm not sure when the book. The
- 39:25Speaker 1: book dropped in twenty nineteen. Here he is again. Then
- 39:30Speaker 1: he went on a tour again of podcasts, answering their
- 39:34Speaker 1: questions in detail, and I mean down to the point
- 39:40Speaker 1: of the shooting, what he saw, what he thought, what
- 39:46Speaker 1: he did, what they did beforehand, like telling the story
- 39:50Speaker 1: of yeah, we went to the to the we was
- 39:56Speaker 1: looking for tupacting jump my nephew, my nephew only eighteen.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Why he snuffed my nephew. There's some gang stuff is
- 40:05Speaker 1: get back time said he went to sixty sixty two
- 40:10Speaker 1: waiting for them, didn't see him, was trying to was like,
- 40:15Speaker 1: all right, well they not out here, you know, we
- 40:17Speaker 1: catch him another time let's bounce. Then said he heard
- 40:22Speaker 1: some chicks saying Tupac tupac, and then he like, oh there,
- 40:26Speaker 1: didy' go right there, and then they went and shot
- 40:29Speaker 1: up the car. This is KEVD telling us in the
- 40:32Speaker 1: book and interviews. You can just google. You can go
- 40:35Speaker 1: write the YouTube and like KEVD said, and you will
- 40:39Speaker 1: find everything he said. And it's some of those videos
- 40:43Speaker 1: you're watching and say to yourself, this gotta be the dumbest. Well,
- 40:48Speaker 1: after that book and podcasts, YouTube tour, the cops said,
- 40:53Speaker 1: oh you think you are way away, were coming to
- 40:57Speaker 1: get you. And he been in prison ever since, or
- 41:01Speaker 1: he've been in jail ever since, and now he's on
- 41:04Speaker 1: trial when there was no trial for like thirty years.
- 41:09Speaker 1: And one of the key things before I just say
- 41:11Speaker 1: a little bit about what I've seen in the trial
- 41:17Speaker 1: is I remember an interview with Suge Knight, and Suge
- 41:20Speaker 1: Knight said, you solve one case, you solve them both.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Suge Knight don't want to snitch. He definitely don't want
- 41:29Speaker 1: to be called to the stand. But that says a lot,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and Keith d had already said a lot. Right, So
- 41:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna just tell y'all real quick from the book perspective,
- 41:43Speaker 1: because I read it and his name, by the way,
- 41:46Speaker 1: is Dwayne Davis aka keep d. If you're interested in
- 41:54Speaker 1: it from just knowing KEPD is saying everything, Okay, he
- 42:01Speaker 1: just going, He just keeps going and then kept making
- 42:07Speaker 1: me turn the pace. I can't believe he said that.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I can't believe he said that. I can't believe he
- 42:10Speaker 1: said that. It was the same thing from the interviews.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Do I suggest you buy it? I mean, just know
- 42:19Speaker 1: that you're who you're supporting when you buy the book.
- 42:22Speaker 1: The proceeds are going to Dwayne Keefey d Davis. And
- 42:28Speaker 1: if you're a Tupac fan, or you just don't like
- 42:31Speaker 1: the idea that this man had anything to do with
- 42:34Speaker 1: Tupac and Biggie maybe not Biggie Murder, but you know
- 42:38Speaker 1: what I mean, then don't buy it or get it
- 42:47Speaker 1: the way I got it five finger discount. But I'm
- 42:50Speaker 1: just saying I wasn't going to support I'm sorry, I
- 42:53Speaker 1: just had to say it. I mean, if they're gonna
- 42:55Speaker 1: knock on my door, hey man, you stole the digital book,
- 42:58Speaker 1: then I'll pay the ten dollars or what. But I
- 43:02Speaker 1: just found it compelling to read for two reasons. It
- 43:07Speaker 1: felt like, you know, here's well, let me just say
- 43:12Speaker 1: the main reason. Here's someone documenting what most of us
- 43:17Speaker 1: have already known now to the casuals into the mainstream public.
- 43:23Speaker 1: They're like, Tupac's murder has never been solved, and they
- 43:26Speaker 1: don't know nothing else. They're like East Coast, West Coast,
- 43:28Speaker 1: and he died and that's it. And then Biggie died
- 43:30Speaker 1: and that's it. That's all they know. But for those
- 43:33Speaker 1: that know, and not even on just a rap level,
- 43:36Speaker 1: just people talking in the streets, and it's just making
- 43:40Speaker 1: its way, not just through Cali but everywhere else. We know,
- 43:47Speaker 1: Tupac gets Tupac snuffs a crip who is known as
- 43:53Speaker 1: a killer. They retaliate, Tupac snuffs them and Bloods jump them.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Then Crip's getting a whip in return fire, resulting in
- 44:06Speaker 1: Tupac's murder. And then they go back to the hood
- 44:08Speaker 1: and it's blood and crypt gang war all over the place. Now,
- 44:18Speaker 1: this is the first week of his trial, and when
- 44:20Speaker 1: I tell you every day has been spicy, it's on
- 44:24Speaker 1: court TV, y'all. Yeah, I think you can go back
- 44:28Speaker 1: and just watch every day if you want to, and
- 44:32Speaker 1: it's compelling now the first week like open the first
- 44:38Speaker 1: day opening statements, kepd's lawyer took a very interesting position
- 44:46Speaker 1: that I think based on law, not what we know
- 44:50Speaker 1: we know, but based on law, could get KEYPD out
- 44:56Speaker 1: of this situation. And that's the prosecution can't place him
- 45:03Speaker 1: in vase. When Baby Lane is getting jumped, Kefd's not.
- 45:08Speaker 1: No one could say KEVD was right there when the
- 45:11Speaker 1: shooting happens. No one can say KEEFD was in the
- 45:15Speaker 1: car when they pulled up to sixty six y two.
- 45:20Speaker 1: There was no one who could say he was there.
- 45:25Speaker 1: So that's the best. That's probably why KVD took it
- 45:28Speaker 1: to trut because his lawyer is saying, you can't prove
- 45:32Speaker 1: that he was there to do to murder Tupac or
- 45:35Speaker 1: be a part of it. But the most compelling part
- 45:40Speaker 1: is keefy D identified himself in books and videos. He
- 45:48Speaker 1: said everything like you don't need another witness, like man
- 45:51Speaker 1: who saw you? He said, I saw me, I was
- 45:55Speaker 1: there and this is what I did. I'm telling you
- 45:59Speaker 1: this is crazy. Then there was another day where mob James,
- 46:04Speaker 1: who used to be the head of Sugar Night's security,
- 46:09Speaker 1: basically street security. We're not talking about official security, you know,
- 46:15Speaker 1: walk around and with the bloods and all of that.
- 46:18Speaker 1: He was there and he's like, you know, I changed
- 46:20Speaker 1: my life and all of that, and I don't want
- 46:22Speaker 1: to put this man in jail. I'm gonna tell you
- 46:24Speaker 1: right now, if you are even remotely interested, look at
- 46:28Speaker 1: keithy D's face on day one in court and look
- 46:33Speaker 1: at his face when he's looking at Mob James. When
- 46:37Speaker 1: I saw his face, I was like, Okay, so that's
- 46:40Speaker 1: what the West Coast means by bloods and crips in
- 46:42Speaker 1: its internal war. Because my god, I never seen somebody
- 46:46Speaker 1: have so much hate in the courtroom where you're locked
- 46:49Speaker 1: up and you can't even get to him, and you're
- 46:51Speaker 1: both old, but you still have this hate in your eyes.
- 46:56Speaker 1: And Mob James was like, you know, even though we
- 46:58Speaker 1: don't like each other, I'm not trying to send you
- 47:00Speaker 1: to jail. Keevy D didn't flinch. He was just you
- 47:04Speaker 1: can't see it because of my hat. But he was
- 47:06Speaker 1: like stone, like he wanted to. Like you could see
- 47:11Speaker 1: the history of their relationship, which is all negative in
- 47:16Speaker 1: keefy D's eyes, and you could tell Mab James is
- 47:20Speaker 1: over it because he's lost a lot, and I think
- 47:23Speaker 1: that's why he is where he is in his life.
- 47:26Speaker 1: But Keithy d Face was like, I don't forget, so
- 47:32Speaker 1: that was interesting. And then you know, there was cops
- 47:35Speaker 1: from the scene for those who don't know, like Tupac was.
- 47:41Speaker 1: He was shot up and when the cops got to
- 47:44Speaker 1: the scene, he still was coherent enough to talk and
- 47:49Speaker 1: one of the cops who rode in the ambulance with
- 47:52Speaker 1: him was like, you know, you know who did this,
- 47:55Speaker 1: and he was like, now we'll take care of it.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Crazy And remember there was a one bicycle cop who said,
- 48:06Speaker 1: you know, hey, I'm with the police and blah blah blah.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And what Tupac say to him, fuck you Like he's shot.
- 48:15Speaker 1: He shot up and he's still talking like this, right.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Wish he was still here because you know, I'd rather
- 48:23Speaker 1: hear him reflect on those situations from being an older
- 48:28Speaker 1: man than to have him like go out in that
- 48:31Speaker 1: way and die because some people won't get the message,
- 48:36Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And I'm pretty sure Tupac
- 48:38Speaker 1: will prefer people learn from his situation rather than you know,
- 48:43Speaker 1: feel like yeah, Pa, that's why Pak was better than
- 48:47Speaker 1: let it getting shot up in cool Okay, you will
- 48:51Speaker 1: never make that cool to me. But I kind of
- 48:55Speaker 1: feel like, looking at this situation and what I read
- 49:04Speaker 1: in the book and what I watched in those videos,
- 49:08Speaker 1: I don't think KEVD is coming home. And if KEVD
- 49:14Speaker 1: is found guilty, you know, El's not coming home Puff
- 49:19Speaker 1: Daddy Diddy, he is not coming home. The minute Diddy
- 49:24Speaker 1: is about to be like, all right, serve my time
- 49:26Speaker 1: for that crazy, you know, freak all stuff. They're gonna
- 49:30Speaker 1: be like, oh, but what about this Tupac murder? You
- 49:32Speaker 1: coming with us? And I know some people who haven't
- 49:35Speaker 1: been following might say, whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa Wait,
- 49:38Speaker 1: what you mean Diddy murdered Tupac? Well, the South Side Cryps,
- 49:47Speaker 1: which KEVD was a part of and had a relationship
- 49:51Speaker 1: with Puff through this guy named Zip. I think Zip
- 49:54Speaker 1: was from Harlem. They used to do security for bad
- 49:58Speaker 1: Boy and the rumor, if you even if you've seen
- 50:04Speaker 1: the Diddy documentary, because they do talk about it, there
- 50:08Speaker 1: is that Diddy's beef with shook Knights specifically and his
- 50:14Speaker 1: team had gotten to the point where he was so afraid,
- 50:18Speaker 1: allegedly that he put money on Tupac and shook Knight's
- 50:23Speaker 1: head to get them, you know, killed. I mean, I
- 50:26Speaker 1: don't amount of times anyway, So like I say, but
- 50:31Speaker 1: apparently some time it passed and there wasn't wasn't an
- 50:35Speaker 1: opportunity for them to cash in on that. And my
- 50:40Speaker 1: theory has always been that maybe they needed the money
- 50:44Speaker 1: later on and they didn't ask, like, yo, you still
- 50:48Speaker 1: want this, and they just took it upon themselves to
- 50:51Speaker 1: set up a situation where they would collide with them
- 50:54Speaker 1: and have an opportunity, you know, which is kind of
- 50:58Speaker 1: what happened, you know. And again this is all speculation
- 51:02Speaker 1: and rumors, just like the rumor that maybe did he
- 51:06Speaker 1: is paying for his lawyer, which I heard is a
- 51:09Speaker 1: public defender. But if he's a public defender, he was
- 51:12Speaker 1: pretty good in opening statement, so that would be crazy.
- 51:18Speaker 1: But they're trying to draw the connection, and they talked
- 51:22Speaker 1: about this in court that did he paid for Tupac
- 51:29Speaker 1: and Suge Knight to get shot up and murdered and
- 51:33Speaker 1: keefd in the South Side. Crips cashed in on that
- 51:37Speaker 1: and got Tupac and allegedly they went to Zip like, yo,
- 51:44Speaker 1: where's our money? Tell Puff, and Puff sent five hundred
- 51:50Speaker 1: thousand to Zip, which is half right, half of a
- 51:55Speaker 1: million dollars. You only got Tupac, you didn't get Suge Knight,
- 52:00Speaker 1: but the money never got to the South Side Crypts
- 52:03Speaker 1: because they said that Zip kept the money right and
- 52:08Speaker 1: told him Puff didn't pay. Now, if you go again,
- 52:12Speaker 1: watch some of those videos online of Keith d talking there.
- 52:17Speaker 1: There are several videos when he was free where he
- 52:21Speaker 1: was making this ominous how you say ominous? Uh? Please?
- 52:29Speaker 1: So to speak to Diddy about taking care of them, right, Yo,
- 52:35Speaker 1: we looked out for y'all blah blah blah. Take you know,
- 52:38Speaker 1: y'all need to take care of us, blah blah blah.
- 52:40Speaker 1: And you can look at that as like, Yo, they
- 52:42Speaker 1: did a lot of security early on and backed them up,
- 52:46Speaker 1: you know. And maybe he just he hurting and he
- 52:50Speaker 1: just wants some you know, a little something for that.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Or maybe because he was telling everything because he thought
- 52:58Speaker 1: he could never go to jail, that he just decided
- 53:03Speaker 1: I could talk freely, Diddy, where where my money at
- 53:08Speaker 1: from thirty years ago? You owe me? So it's it's
- 53:14Speaker 1: all crazy, And a lot of times on this podcast,
- 53:18Speaker 1: I don't really necessarily like to talk about things out
- 53:22Speaker 1: happening outside of the art, but this is so significant
- 53:28Speaker 1: in hip hop Biggie and Tupac's murder that it almost
- 53:34Speaker 1: feels especially me having to you know, reading that book,
- 53:38Speaker 1: I felt like I needed to talk about it. And
- 53:40Speaker 1: one last tidbit that connects Diddy and south Side Crypts
- 53:47Speaker 1: and specifically as it relates to Biggies murder. We know
- 53:50Speaker 1: all the rumors behind the biggest Biggies murder and whether
- 53:53Speaker 1: it was cops or Death Row or Death Row hide
- 53:56Speaker 1: Harry cops or just retaliation. Keefy D in that book
- 54:02Speaker 1: also says, and he senative interviews that they were at
- 54:06Speaker 1: the party that Biggie and Puff and bad Boy were
- 54:12Speaker 1: at right before Biggie got murdered, and certain crooked cops
- 54:17Speaker 1: were there and Bloods and Death Row associates were there,
- 54:22Speaker 1: and Keefy D says he went up to Diddy like, yo,
- 54:26Speaker 1: y'all good, y'all need some protection, blah blah blah, and
- 54:28Speaker 1: did he said, nah, We're good. So there's so much
- 54:34Speaker 1: that this case Biggie and Tupac's murderers are about to
- 54:37Speaker 1: be solved. It's unfortunate that both their mothers aren't here
- 54:42Speaker 1: to witness this and get some answers and some justice.
- 54:50Speaker 1: But in the case of Biggie, you know, his children
- 54:52Speaker 1: are around and people always say Tupac has a daughter,
- 54:57Speaker 1: but I don't wear I don't know so ma maybe,
- 55:00Speaker 1: but his family in general, his brother Mopreme, like you
- 55:03Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like people can can can get
- 55:08Speaker 1: some justice fortunately out of this situation, because I don't
- 55:13Speaker 1: think KEVD after doing that is I just don't think
- 55:18Speaker 1: he's going free. And some testimony that I saw today
- 55:25Speaker 1: where the cops or like keefd was wearing a wire
- 55:29Speaker 1: to try to trap Zip to eventually get to Diddy.
- 55:37Speaker 1: What y'all call that? Uh, that's a snitch, right, see
- 55:40Speaker 1: I right, informant VD, and he ain't flinch when it
- 55:49Speaker 1: was being said, you like, And so this is crazy.
- 55:54Speaker 1: And this is the reason why I felt like this
- 55:56Speaker 1: was going to be a long episode because I needed
- 56:00Speaker 1: to say everything I need to say about that situation,
- 56:04Speaker 1: because it's been a whole week and it's been action
- 56:06Speaker 1: packed every time in that courtroom. And even though it
- 56:10Speaker 1: may feel like some are covering it and some and
- 56:13Speaker 1: others aren't, trust me. When that verdict come down, whether
- 56:17Speaker 1: he go free or not, it's going to take over
- 56:21Speaker 1: the conversation in hip hop. So let me know what
- 56:25Speaker 1: you think. Have you been following the case, what did
- 56:29Speaker 1: you hear from the streets back then, what have you
