- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Marketplace Proverbs and Coffee with Ernie,
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: where a proverb a day keeps stinking thinking at bay.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Each day,
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: we open the book of Proverbs that corresponds to the day of the month
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: and just simply ask,
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: what is it saying to us as leaders,
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: customer success masters,
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: coworkers, spouses, and occasionally influencers of culture?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: So grab your coffee and let's reflect on today's Proverbs.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: I've chosen two versions or translations,
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: one from the New King James Version and one from the CEV.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: First from the NKJV,
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 28.1, quote,
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: The wicked flee when no one pursues,
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: but the righteous are bold as a lion, end quote.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: And then from the CEV,
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 28, 1, quote,
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Wicked people run away when no one chases them,
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: but those who live right are as brave as lions.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: You know, leadership is something people crave.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: History shows it.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Israel begged for a king in 1 Samuel 8,
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: and then but when Saul disobeyed, his leadership collapsed.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: And the truth is, people don't just want leaders.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: They need leaders who are grounded in God's wisdom.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: They may not admit that, but deep down, they really do from my perspective.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Now, the same is true in the marketplace.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Customers don't just want transactions.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: They crave guidance.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: They want someone they can trust to listen to,
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: someone that cares,
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: and someone that can lead and will lead and does lead with integrity.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Now, that's what I call gospel-centric customer success mastery,
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: leading not for applause but for stewardship,
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: serving, adding significance to others with humility and Integrity, and Love.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Now, think about it this way.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: We've discussed this before.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I feel that there are five Gospels.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and us.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Most people will read the Gospel of us more than the other four combined.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: In fact, we may be the only Gospel.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: We may be the only Bible that Others read today or this week or this month for that matter.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So what does your life convey?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Well, ask yourself, do your actions align with Christ's command to love your neighbor?
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: I have Ernie eyes that what he says is love your neighbor as yourself.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: I like to say in Ernie eyes it of,
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Conduct business in a manner greater than you expect in return.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Also ask yourself, do your words and demeanor build trust and peace?
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Or do you chase numbers first hoping people will follow?
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Proverbs says the righteous are as bold as lions.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Now that boldness isn't arrogance.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: It's confidence rooted in God's will.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: It's the courage to do what's right and The humility to serve and the faith
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: to lead boldly in the face of pressure.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: When we live this way,
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: our leadership creates ripples, micro actions that grow into macro influence.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Bold, gospel-centered leadership doesn't just touch individual customers.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: It shapes organizations, communities, and cultures.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Think on that.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Bold leadership isn't about ego.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: It's about gospel-centered confidence that serves others with integrity and love.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Lord, thank you for the privilege of serving and leading in the marketplace.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Please continue to make me bold,
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: but not with pride, but with quiet confidence that comes from walking with you.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Please teach me Please lead me with integrity.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Teach me to lead with integrity, humility, and courage.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Let my life reflect the gospel so others see you in every word,
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: every decision, in every relationship.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Well, today's action points, let's call it the gospel according to you.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Action point number one is actions.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Are your daily choices consistent with gospel-centered leadership?
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Action point number two are the deeds.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Where are we serving selflessly?
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Building relationships instead of chasing transactions.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Action point number three, let's look at our demeanor.

- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Action point number four, evaluate our impact.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: What story is our life telling right now?
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: If our customers only read the gospel according to me, would they see Christ in it?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Something to think on.
