- 1:32Speaker 4: I don't know, It's barely hanging on by a thread,
- 1:35Speaker 4: but it's here.
- 1:36Speaker 6: You took a whole week off of talking. Basically, I'm sure,
- 1:38Speaker 6: no doubt. Didn't talk at all.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Jake, Flynn, Moose and tat here with you, Oh TB
- 1:46Speaker 4: on this Monday, Monday Monday, Taylor your sunburn?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I becoming.
- 1:53Speaker 6: I looked over there. I hadn't really looked at it.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Old boy forgot the old SPF.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Did he The line at the ankles is a leap
- 2:02Speaker 2: just from mowing. No, it's just not from mowing.
- 2:05Speaker 7: Uh.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I did a flag football event at same Santamal over
- 2:10Speaker 1: the weekend.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Whoa, whoa?
- 2:11Speaker 4: You did an event that could be coaching, playing broadcasting.
- 2:15Speaker 1: No, I just kind of like hosted the event. Yeah okay,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and it was outside for like six hours.
- 2:23Speaker 8: Yeah, not a ton of shade. So it just it happened.
- 2:25Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I got a very important question about this sunburn.
- 2:28Speaker 8: What's your question? Do you tan or do you just
- 2:32Speaker 8: get burns peeled and go right back?
- 2:33Speaker 2: So I actually believe it or not actually tan?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Okay, all right, for the most part, I'd burn easily,
- 2:39Speaker 1: but it kind of it does switch.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Does bronze a little bit?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah a little bit.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I mean most people would think, like, you know, like
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm normally fair complexted hare that I don't.
- 2:49Speaker 2: But yeah, I do a little bit.
- 2:50Speaker 4: All right, Good for you, man, for you. Sure you're
- 2:52Speaker 4: not the only one that was outside. I'm sure Moose
- 2:54Speaker 4: was in the box.
- 2:55Speaker 7: I'm going to assume yeah, yeah, maybe yeah, three days
- 2:58Speaker 7: in a row, Yeah for sure.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Absolutely you for tonight we'll see boys feeling comes six o'clock.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Okay, along when here? Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna have double
- 3:07Speaker 6: duty today. Were you in the box the whole time?
- 3:10Speaker 9: Or did you get like a game where you're above
- 3:11Speaker 9: to dugout slam of some beers anything like that?
- 3:14Speaker 6: Nothing?
- 3:15Speaker 7: Oh yeah, no, I mean I I had a few
- 3:17Speaker 7: beers Friday and Saturday.
- 3:18Speaker 4: A few beers, a couple, a couple of good pops.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Most you've had the same seats forever, right, Yeah?
- 3:27Speaker 5: My family, they've had their tickets since ninety.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Three, That's what I thought. Yeah, in the same spot.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, what about you, stitch head.
- 3:38Speaker 9: I was not able to make it physically okay, any games,
- 3:42Speaker 9: but certainly locked into multiple innings on the television.
- 3:48Speaker 6: No games. I didn't throw any complete games out there.
- 3:51Speaker 6: You could find the games this week, though.
- 3:53Speaker 9: I could find the games, which was a huge upgrade
- 3:55Speaker 9: from last last week. I tried most you weren't here
- 3:59Speaker 9: last week at our show, but I was. I tried
- 4:01Speaker 9: to watch as much baseball I could last week.
- 4:03Speaker 7: I respect that. I respect the hell out of it. Man,
- 4:05Speaker 7: I really do the efforts there. That's what's important.
- 4:07Speaker 9: That's all that really matters, is the effort, not the
- 4:10Speaker 9: outcoming life.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Do you want?
- 4:11Speaker 4: Baseball didn't put the effort we needed them into the broadcast.
- 4:15Speaker 9: Now there's multiple people trying to illegally stream it. They
- 4:19Speaker 9: put in a lot of good effort. They got taken down,
- 4:21Speaker 9: they did by the YouTube cops. Yeah, but not this week,
- 4:25Speaker 9: the fun police.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Not this week. Upgraded the old ESPN app subscription. Not
- 4:30Speaker 6: a big deal. You got to expense that, you should.
- 4:34Speaker 9: That's a good idea. It wasn't extra like work related.
- 4:37Speaker 9: What was it extra nine ninety nine a month? Yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 9: it's work related, just to watch watch the old baseball team.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Worth it. We're good. I'm glad you watched. I was
- 4:47Speaker 4: really hoping. I knew a laundra was going to be
- 4:49Speaker 4: out today. That's our baseball go to, and so I
- 4:53Speaker 4: was like running around that corner. I was like, I
- 4:55Speaker 4: hope I see Moose in that chair. I hope I
- 4:57Speaker 4: see And I did so I'm glad. I'm happy about that.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I got in like ten thirty Saturday night from Indianapolis,
- 5:05Speaker 4: and then at six thirty Sunday morning, I was up
- 5:08Speaker 4: in Adam driving a Lafayette for the lug nuts Well
- 5:11Speaker 4: Baseball tournament. No, boy, already it's the first one. It's
- 5:15Speaker 4: like the first real weekend that we play. March first,
- 5:19Speaker 4: it's basically spring. Let's have a full blown tournament. Lafayette
- 5:23Speaker 4: started February twenty eighth. Yeah lord, yeah, bidding Lafayette. I
- 5:27Speaker 4: guess it was.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Where was it?
- 5:31Speaker 4: Technically wasn't Bruce Sard That's the other ballpark, doesn't really matter.
- 5:35Speaker 6: Great ballpark though, nice, really good ball week.
- 5:40Speaker 4: They got a couple of complexes there in that area.
- 5:43Speaker 4: I'm like, man, this is nice speak.
- 5:48Speaker 9: It's so nice that you wanted to travel there on
- 5:50Speaker 9: March first, exactly February twenty eighth.
- 5:52Speaker 6: I mean technically I didn't get there until March first.
- 5:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 9: Yeah, Well, this has been a lot about you know,
- 5:56Speaker 9: you asked us some questions, but the big news from
- 5:58Speaker 9: last week is how your trip was. You had a
- 6:00Speaker 9: pretty substantial gig. Yeah, in Indianapolis, NFL Combine. For those
- 6:06Speaker 9: of you who've heard of that? Pretty big deal? Uh
- 6:10Speaker 9: NFL is it? What is it the NFL Network on serious?
- 6:13Speaker 9: Or is radio NFL Radio? NFL Radio on serious? Yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 9: the Big Show. Welcome to the Big Show. Welcome to
- 6:21Speaker 9: the Big Show. You had, you know, fill farting around
- 6:24Speaker 9: in this college football stuff.
- 6:26Speaker 4: It'll now, we were with the big Boys dog and
- 6:29Speaker 4: I think if anybody appreciates that, it'd probably be you.
- 6:32Speaker 6: Absolutely anybody, That's what I mean.
- 6:33Speaker 9: We there's you know, college football is an absolutely just
- 6:37Speaker 9: disaster of a mess right now.
- 6:38Speaker 6: So welcome to the Big Show. I'm excited. Oh yeah, well,
- 6:41Speaker 6: thank you. I've been there before. Yeah, welcome, Welcome.
- 6:46Speaker 9: So how did it, guys, say, I know, a lot
- 6:48Speaker 9: of long days, but awesome opportunity for you.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Great.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it was so great. Uh So I did the
- 6:54Speaker 4: show here on Monday. Then I flew out to Indy
- 6:57Speaker 4: on Monday afternoon. I got there, so Tuesday I joined
- 7:03Speaker 4: the show here via FaceTime because we got a little
- 7:06Speaker 4: bit of a later start. But then it was twelve
- 7:10Speaker 4: hour days on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then a
- 7:14Speaker 4: three hour show on Saturday. It's twelve hour days because
- 7:19Speaker 4: the players come in waves like there's three big groups
- 7:22Speaker 4: and they have podiums out there and it's US and
- 7:26Speaker 4: it's NBC, CBS, Bleacher Report, ESPN, and then they.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Kind of take players to different places.
- 7:31Speaker 4: So you're just grabbing interviews everyone that you can, and
- 7:34Speaker 4: you're grabbing multiple and you have a sheet, you know,
- 7:36Speaker 4: and with our partnership with the NFL, like they're gonna
- 7:39Speaker 4: make sure, you know, they bring them over there.
- 7:41Speaker 6: But so you're highlighting the sheet.
- 7:42Speaker 4: But there's also two other NFL radio shows on the
- 7:46Speaker 4: same channel, you know, there's Morning, midday, afternoon, and so
- 7:49Speaker 4: you're kind of trying to like make sure each show
- 7:52Speaker 4: kind of gets there request if you can right now.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Of course, like all the meatheads, they knew exactly, like Haneskiing,
- 7:59Speaker 4: They're like, we know what Joe Haynes King's going on.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Don't worry about.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Us, obviously. But it was a lot of fun. I
- 8:06Speaker 4: worked with Pat Kerwin, who's og. I mean, he's been
- 8:08Speaker 4: in the game for a very long time, worked for
- 8:10Speaker 4: the Jets front office forever, been do an NFL radio
- 8:13Speaker 4: for two decades plus, and so.
- 8:16Speaker 6: It was a lot of fun.
- 8:17Speaker 4: And it was a lot of fun because this was
- 8:18Speaker 4: one this was a really good group. So a lot
- 8:21Speaker 4: of intelligent football players in this group, just all the
- 8:24Speaker 4: different position groups, just having those conversations with the next
- 8:28Speaker 4: wave of the NFL.
- 8:30Speaker 6: I mean we caught up with.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Probably sixty players, sixty sixty five players that we interviewed.
- 8:37Speaker 6: And you knew all their names.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yeah, there was nobody like surprise, now we'll say this.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I'm not gonna be Tommy tough guy on nuts.
- 8:47Speaker 6: That's true. Well it was eight seven o eight, so
- 8:49Speaker 6: I went tough guy. It was eight oh eight. That
- 8:51Speaker 6: would have been different. Tough guy nuts.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I can see I've got to rain you back in
- 8:57Speaker 4: on Saturday. You're like ted last week, your like nightmare.
- 9:01Speaker 4: So we have an offensive lineman already up there. Another
- 9:07Speaker 4: top offensive lineman was coming and they throw like this
- 9:12Speaker 4: sheet in front of me, like who it is, And
- 9:15Speaker 4: it was a last name that had thirty seven vowels
- 9:20Speaker 4: and it was about a mile and a half long,
- 9:22Speaker 4: and they throw the sheet in front of me and
- 9:25Speaker 4: I'm like, well.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Here we go, here we go, let's got it. I
- 9:29Speaker 6: don't remember what it was, but I was like, maybe
- 9:34Speaker 6: like a head's up.
- 9:35Speaker 9: Yeah it's something, and my guy's coming up, like the
- 9:38Speaker 9: we get the parentheses next to it.
- 9:40Speaker 6: That tells me how to sound this out like a child.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Let me get my finger out and sound it out
- 9:46Speaker 4: like a child, because there.
- 9:47Speaker 9: Is thirty seven thousands more like European? Was this more
- 9:52Speaker 9: island islander? Yeah, okay, that's a tough one. It's tough,
- 9:57Speaker 9: but you know what, we made it.
- 9:59Speaker 6: We made it.
- 10:01Speaker 9: Did you just him like like casually drop his first
- 10:04Speaker 9: name in the first letter of his last name.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I don't remember what I out I should have. Yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 6: it's a good move. Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 4: You remember the old commercial like when collect calls used
- 10:16Speaker 4: to be a thing, and the guy didn't have money
- 10:20Speaker 4: for the collect call and so it's like, hey, say
- 10:22Speaker 4: your name on an old collect call. So your name
- 10:24Speaker 4: is like uh and then just had a baby, right,
- 10:28Speaker 4: and he was trying to get as much as he
- 10:30Speaker 4: could in this little bitty windows.
- 10:31Speaker 6: Like, Bob we out of baby. It's a boy.
- 10:33Speaker 4: It's calling you. I felt like that's what I called
- 10:37Speaker 4: that guy. Yeah, Bob we out of baby.
- 10:40Speaker 6: It's a boy.
- 10:41Speaker 10: Uh?
- 10:42Speaker 6: I like that. Yeah, But we did it. Do you
- 10:44Speaker 6: accept these charges? N He did not. He did not.
- 10:49Speaker 6: He did not. Uh so yeah, sixty five or so.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Players energy was great my co host was great. It
- 10:55Speaker 4: was a lot of fun. Again, it's fun because he's
- 10:57Speaker 4: a front office guy. I'm the player, all right, different
- 11:00Speaker 4: perspective on that process and the combine. I think you
- 11:05Speaker 4: would have really enjoyed that process. I know interviews aren't
- 11:09Speaker 4: your favorite things sometimes, but you would have really enjoyed
- 11:12Speaker 4: I think sitting down with some of the players, some
- 11:14Speaker 4: of the quarterbacks, for.
- 11:15Speaker 9: Sure enjoyed sitting down with the quarterbacks. You would have
- 11:18Speaker 9: enjoyed the sinners too. Okay, a lot of protection talk,
- 11:21Speaker 9: A lot of protection talk. Do you did you call
- 11:24Speaker 9: the mics in college.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Or a lot?
- 11:26Speaker 4: So one of my questions any center and quarterback that
- 11:28Speaker 4: we got up there, I wanted to know their process.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I said, all right, it's third and long, third and
- 11:35Speaker 4: seven plus we're in our base sub protection. Walk me
- 11:41Speaker 4: to the line of scrimmage and give me your process.
- 11:45Speaker 6: And they did. And it was awesome.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I mean, like I said, some really smart football players.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Pat Coogan from Indiana was awesome. Jake Slaughter from Florida
- 11:54Speaker 4: was awesome. I'm singing some of the logan Jones from
- 11:57Speaker 4: I was awesome singing some of the sinners.
- 12:00Speaker 9: Hey, center center, you know John Doe, What was your process?
- 12:07Speaker 9: What was Did you call the mics on protections? And
- 12:10Speaker 9: if they said yes, I'd have been like, well you
- 12:12Speaker 9: were at a trash offense. That would have been my response.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Well, Helms, he called the mic sometimes until you told
- 12:19Speaker 6: him he was dumb.
- 12:20Speaker 9: Dumb hey called the mic on running place. I mean
- 12:23Speaker 9: sometimes he'd suggest he did not call the mics. I
- 12:26Speaker 9: remember getting in an argument when he tried to one time.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Had a fist fight. Uh, he threw the ball at me,
- 12:35Speaker 6: but I remember, yeah, yeah, I was there and it
- 12:39Speaker 6: wasn't a snap.
- 12:42Speaker 4: But the centers like in the way they see it,
- 12:44Speaker 4: it was, I mean different ones at different levels of
- 12:47Speaker 4: how they saw it, but it was.
- 12:49Speaker 6: It's good.
- 12:49Speaker 9: That's fantastic that those those are the two that Hey,
- 12:52Speaker 9: you're right, the center's quarterbacks.
- 12:54Speaker 6: That would have been the ones I would have nerded out.
- 12:56Speaker 9: It wouldn't have been a good interview because I would
- 12:58Speaker 9: have just nerded out and started talking about like one textree.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Okay, so again, like I'll go back to it on
- 13:05Speaker 4: the show that I've always done on Serious Probably not.
- 13:09Speaker 6: The NFL radio is a it's a different vibe.
- 13:13Speaker 4: The listeners are pretty in tune, a little bit more nerdy, yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 4: like pretty more in tune in too, like some of
- 13:20Speaker 4: the x's no's and the process in the way. I'll
- 13:22Speaker 4: have to go back and either listen or think about
- 13:25Speaker 4: the way that meant. Fernando Mendoza said it. His was
- 13:30Speaker 4: they had like an acronym. It was PIMP P I
- 13:32Speaker 4: m P H on his process walking to and he
- 13:35Speaker 4: went through the whole thing. It was incredible. I have
- 13:36Speaker 4: to think of what p I M P stood for
- 13:40Speaker 4: still for something different. I thought fifty cent song, but
- 13:44Speaker 4: it was impressive.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Mm hmm.
- 13:46Speaker 9: I will think about that the race, see what it
- 13:47Speaker 9: could stand for. SOMP.
- 13:52Speaker 4: But I definitely have some favorite players. Yeah, some favorites
- 13:58Speaker 4: that favorites that we talked with it and we're going
- 14:01Speaker 4: like when we come back, like to get the show started.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Like else.
- 14:03Speaker 4: You had a hell of a baseball weekend, so mostly
- 14:06Speaker 4: gonna get you smothered and cover there. But at some point, yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 4: I'd like to put my list together of the guys that.
- 14:13Speaker 9: You came in today, saying that it was a group
- 14:16Speaker 9: of really well spoken young man well spoken uh huh.
- 14:21Speaker 4: From every different location in the United States, different schools,
- 14:27Speaker 4: very intelligent.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Group, very wealthy group as well. We made a lot
- 14:32Speaker 6: of money, some of them did. Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 4: One of the ones that may have made the most
- 14:37Speaker 4: money was my favorite interview of the week. So we'll
- 14:40Speaker 4: get to that. That's a little that's a tease down
- 14:42Speaker 4: the road, to tease down the road. All right, So
- 14:46Speaker 4: glad to be back, Happy to be be back here.
- 14:49Speaker 9: Thank you for holding it down. We did something. I
- 14:53Speaker 9: don't know if we held it down, but hey, Taylor,
- 14:55Speaker 9: we survived. There was I think we did more than
- 14:58Speaker 9: I mean the ratings we got to huge boost.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Probably we encourage the LSU guys to run good forties
- 15:04Speaker 1: and they did.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Yeah, that is true. I mean, we did a lot.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Credit to ourselves. There was no pink tag in the
- 15:09Speaker 4: locker when I came back. There was no pink tag.
- 15:11Speaker 4: We made the squads. We didn't lose too many sponsors.
- 15:14Speaker 9: Well, no, it's tricky sometimes.
- 15:19Speaker 6: That's okay, we'll bring them back.
- 15:21Speaker 9: But I think, uh, I think our listeners had a
- 15:24Speaker 9: pretty good time. That's all it matters. That's all that matters. Sure,
- 15:27Speaker 9: we had some interviews. I didn't confuse Kim Milky this time,
- 15:30Speaker 9: and that's what you were there. She understood the question.
- 15:32Speaker 9: She understood every question.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I asked, which killed the J Clark interview Friday?
- 15:37Speaker 9: Oh yeah, ine three head coaches, but by myself, no,
- 15:41Speaker 9: think no, Andred Taylor fed me a lot of questions.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Jay Johnson too, Oh yeah, I heard you were trying
- 15:50Speaker 4: to Were you talking philosophies with him? What was that
- 15:52Speaker 4: you were dealing with them?
- 15:55Speaker 6: I told him.
- 15:55Speaker 9: I was like, Hey, can we just swing away on
- 15:57Speaker 9: three to zero? Guys, let's stop taking owned some meat balls?
- 16:01Speaker 6: Yeah? What do you say to that? Uh?
- 16:04Speaker 9: He said absolutely, Glenn, you got it, he said no,
- 16:08Speaker 9: he gave the right answer.
- 16:10Speaker 6: He said we He said, I do do that. I
- 16:12Speaker 6: do like to do that.
- 16:13Speaker 9: At the time, like you started talking about all these
- 16:15Speaker 9: like yeah, if the if it's a left.
- 16:17Speaker 6: Handed batter, and this is they have all this stuff.
- 16:20Speaker 9: I was like, I don't know, coach their meatballs three
- 16:22Speaker 9: and oh right down the middle.
- 16:25Speaker 6: It's the best pitch you gonna see over the fence.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Matt learned about the ghost in the building last week.
- 16:32Speaker 6: The Diddler. Yeah, no, old diddler, the old ghost Diddler. Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 6: Taylor's favorite place to go see. Yeah it is. That's
- 16:40Speaker 6: It's so weird how it takes him so long to go.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It's the weirdest thing. I'm telling I'm selling mad move.
- 16:45Speaker 1: So I asked me one time. I was like, won't
- 16:46Speaker 1: you use about them on this floor? I was like,
- 16:47Speaker 1: I like the other one better yeats down.
- 16:51Speaker 6: And on that note, we'll take our first break of

- 17:51Speaker 4: the wolf bag back for a full week. So she's
- 17:54Speaker 4: on vacation. I think vacation. Is that what she's doing.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I think that's in New York City, New York City,
- 17:59Speaker 4: the big you make city or what commercial was that?

- 19:03Speaker 4: probably a good idea to go see them, just to

- 19:32Speaker 4: All right, we are, as I said, we were very
- 19:34Speaker 4: happy to have our guy Muso here with us today
- 19:37Speaker 4: and obviously our own stitchhead Matt Flynn yep, over here
- 19:41Speaker 4: to break down a little baseball. After the midweek lost
- 19:45Speaker 4: there to McNeice, and I didn't get a chance to
- 19:48Speaker 4: watch it was still on air, but man, I was
- 19:49Speaker 4: living through it through uh the wolf Back and y'all
- 19:52Speaker 4: were going through it. We were, Yeah, but you lose
- 19:55Speaker 4: that game seven to six, and then you come back
- 19:57Speaker 4: and you get a win on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Dartmouth
- 20:01Speaker 4: a couple of times, and Northeastern. So I will throw
- 20:04Speaker 4: this one to you, Moose. Your biggest takeaway from the
- 20:07Speaker 4: LSU Baseball weekend.
- 20:08Speaker 5: The pitching staff.
- 20:09Speaker 7: I mean, I know a lot of people are gonna
- 20:11Speaker 7: want to talk about the offensive struggles.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Whan we can. They weren't very good over the course
- 20:15Speaker 5: of three games.
- 20:16Speaker 7: But the pitching staff picked up all the slack that
- 20:20Speaker 7: was left there, and that's great to see. I mean,
- 20:23Speaker 7: you want to see them win games in different ways,
- 20:26Speaker 7: and I think there is value in them winning five
- 20:28Speaker 7: to two, three to one, and then three to nothing.
- 20:30Speaker 7: You got really good efforts from all three starters over
- 20:33Speaker 7: twenty innings combined in a one three three, one three
- 20:36Speaker 7: four era. From that group, they punched out twenty nine.
- 20:39Speaker 7: I mean, you look at Cooper Moore and William Schmid.
- 20:42Speaker 7: They both got you into the eighth inning. I mean,
- 20:43Speaker 7: that's your Saturday and Sunday guy case. And Evans really
- 20:47Speaker 7: found his way into a groove after a little bit
- 20:49Speaker 7: of a rocky start with some free passes.
- 20:50Speaker 6: So you love that.
- 20:51Speaker 5: And your bullpen through shutout ball, And what.
- 20:54Speaker 7: You also saw is you saw LSU on Friday and
- 20:58Speaker 7: Saturday only use four pitchers, which if you can run
- 21:01Speaker 7: Evans and Gidry out there on a Friday, you feel
- 21:02Speaker 7: pretty good about that. If you can run more and
- 21:05Speaker 7: Shearing out there on a Saturday, I think you feel
- 21:06Speaker 7: pretty good about that. But your bullpen, in the process
- 21:11Speaker 7: of throwing the shout out ball, came up with some
- 21:13Speaker 7: really really big moments in the game and got you
- 21:16Speaker 7: out of some tight jams in close matchups, which, given
- 21:21Speaker 7: LSU's offensive prowess in the first eight to nine games
- 21:24Speaker 7: of the season, that really wasn't an opportunity because they
- 21:27Speaker 7: were just steamrolling everybody. So to see them do that,
- 21:31Speaker 7: there is value there because, you know what, you're not
- 21:34Speaker 7: gonna steamroll everybody. Once the thirty game gauntlet starts, You're
- 21:37Speaker 7: gonna have to come in and get some tough out.
- 21:39Speaker 7: So for me, it's the pitching staff far and away.
- 21:42Speaker 7: I mean again, if you're getting three earned from your
- 21:44Speaker 7: starters and shut out from your bullpen, you're feeling pretty
- 21:47Speaker 7: good about that.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the pitching staff certainly has been something
- 21:52Speaker 4: on Saturday and Sunday. I mean, we've talked about it
- 21:54Speaker 4: so many times, Moss. I know you've talked about it,
- 21:56Speaker 4: like if you can get that on Sunday from William Smith.
- 22:00Speaker 4: You weren't really sure, like, you know, the talent's there,
- 22:02Speaker 4: But he's still a young player, still only a true
- 22:04Speaker 4: sophomore last year. You could see why everybody was excited
- 22:08Speaker 4: about it. But again, right, he's a young baseball player,
- 22:11Speaker 4: true freshman, playing on a national championship team, and the
- 22:16Speaker 4: way that he started this season is like the best
- 22:19Speaker 4: possible scenario I think for LSU baseball. If you get
- 22:23Speaker 4: that version of him, I think about it, a guy
- 22:25Speaker 4: that was going to be first round pick, a guy
- 22:27Speaker 4: that every scout loved, and you got him on campus.
- 22:29Speaker 4: We were all shocked when you got him on campus.
- 22:32Speaker 4: If that guy gets the ball every Sunday and has
- 22:35Speaker 4: this mentality, because it feels like that switch has flipped.
- 22:39Speaker 4: It feels like he remembers, Oh, I'm really really good,
- 22:42Speaker 4: and when I go out there and take care of
- 22:44Speaker 4: my business, I can be a Friday night stuff guy
- 22:47Speaker 4: on Sunday. I mean that is like a utopia situation
- 22:52Speaker 4: for LSU baseball.
- 22:53Speaker 7: The confidence really stands out watching him, especially yesterday. I
- 22:56Speaker 7: mean you could still see him kind of feeling his
- 22:58Speaker 7: way through it. I feel like against UCF because he
- 23:01Speaker 7: had a little bit of a rocky start against Milwaukee,
- 23:04Speaker 7: pitched great against Central Floor, I mean five shot out, like,
- 23:06Speaker 7: he was very good, but I think you could still
- 23:08Speaker 7: see at times some kind of feeling his way through it.
- 23:11Speaker 5: He through everything with conviction.
- 23:13Speaker 7: Yesterday, got the ball, went was confident, just it definitely
- 23:16Speaker 7: looked like he said okay, wait yeah, that I can
- 23:19Speaker 7: do this. I mean, he faced four over the minimum
- 23:22Speaker 7: all day long. That's I mean, that's really good.
- 23:26Speaker 5: He landing the breaking stuff has helped.
- 23:29Speaker 7: But to me, the confidence yesterday that he showed is
- 23:34Speaker 7: the biggest difference that I've seen in williams Strutt so.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Far, because I mean, the walks, the control, that's what
- 23:39Speaker 6: got him in trouble.
- 23:40Speaker 5: For sure.
- 23:41Speaker 4: It's freshman season, so to see him go back out
- 23:43Speaker 4: there command the plate, it's it's something that certainly, if
- 23:46Speaker 4: it continues, LSU is going to be exactly the team
- 23:49Speaker 4: that we thought they were, which is a team that
- 23:52Speaker 4: goes deep, a team that has a chance, a team
- 23:54Speaker 4: that has an opportunity to run him back again.
- 23:56Speaker 6: There.
- 23:56Speaker 4: So I know it's not your favorite brand of baseball, Matthew,
- 24:00Speaker 4: because you liked Aangers.
- 24:01Speaker 10: Uh.
- 24:01Speaker 9: I Like, I asked Jay Johnson last week because they
- 24:06Speaker 9: had just come off the midweek loss and said, like,
- 24:08Speaker 9: you're you get all the accolades for being a great
- 24:10Speaker 9: coach and what you do on the baseball field and
- 24:12Speaker 9: how you get pictures ready and hitter's ready and and
- 24:14Speaker 9: everything you do with the lineup, everything all that is awesome.
- 24:18Speaker 6: I was like, but any really good coach.
- 24:20Speaker 9: Is a part time psychiatrist, basically, right, And you're dealing
- 24:24Speaker 9: with the mentality of eighteen to twenty three year old kids.
- 24:28Speaker 6: They just started a season. There's no way to prepare
- 24:31Speaker 6: for a seaton in baseball. They're playing.
- 24:32Speaker 9: They've played a lot of baseball right, right, and so
- 24:34Speaker 9: you have to, like you talk about the lineup struggles
- 24:37Speaker 9: and you talk about earlier, you know, the pitchers trying
- 24:39Speaker 9: to figure it out, and it seems like they have
- 24:40Speaker 9: figured out certainly this weekend. But you're gonna have the
- 24:43Speaker 9: ups and downs at the plate, you're gonna go cold,
- 24:46Speaker 9: you're gonna you're not gonna have the you're not gonna
- 24:48Speaker 9: have the success every single week and that you do
- 24:51Speaker 9: the weekend before. It's just it's one of those things.
- 24:53Speaker 9: You're still we just got into March. They've played a
- 24:57Speaker 9: lot of baseball in the last couple of weeks. The
- 25:01Speaker 9: lineup is still fantastic, so there's nothing to be where
- 25:05Speaker 9: like kind of like the Moose's point, it was kind
- 25:07Speaker 9: of nice to see the pitchers have to have to
- 25:09Speaker 9: make pitches, have to get out, and they certainly did so.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Mus I'll throw back to you and Tayay if you
- 25:17Speaker 4: got anything, obviously jump right in when you look at
- 25:20Speaker 4: the offensive struggles, right And I'm trying to watch a
- 25:24Speaker 4: little bit there while I'm doing some of the shows
- 25:26Speaker 4: in Indie, it really felt like to me, and it
- 25:28Speaker 4: could you know, it could be a different case, but
- 25:30Speaker 4: it was really there was no table setting. It felt
- 25:33Speaker 4: like the top of the lineup really struggled as well.
- 25:36Speaker 4: And I went back and I'm kind of reviewing some
- 25:38Speaker 4: of yesterday's game, and it's just you can't start a
- 25:43Speaker 4: game where you're one and two hole hitters go zero
- 25:47Speaker 4: for eight with four strikeouts. Like to me, that was
- 25:49Speaker 4: like the issue as we all know, like you want
- 25:51Speaker 4: to get guys on base, you want to get the
- 25:53Speaker 4: top of the lineup going, and yesterday, for me, it
- 25:55Speaker 4: felt like those struggles came from the top of the
- 25:57Speaker 4: lineup because they didn't give themselves a chance. I mean,
- 26:00Speaker 4: I want to say, I don't even know if they
- 26:03Speaker 4: got on base outside of maybe one.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Error the leadoff to I don't even think they've reached
- 26:09Speaker 7: base on air.
- 26:10Speaker 5: Korea, Yes, Korea.
- 26:11Speaker 7: On the eighth inn, he reached reached on the air
- 26:13Speaker 7: because then Brown hit the double over the center fielders
- 26:15Speaker 7: had to score him. So yes, they reached on the
- 26:17Speaker 7: air there at the top of the order. Definitely struggled that.
- 26:21Speaker 7: It is kind of just all throughout though, man one
- 26:22Speaker 7: through nine all weekend. I mean to steal a phrase
- 26:25Speaker 7: from Jay Johnson, they seem like they're very out of
- 26:28Speaker 7: character at the plate right now. There's a lot of flyouts,
- 26:30Speaker 7: which that's not what Jay's ever looking for. He wants
- 26:33Speaker 7: it middle of the field and backside on a line
- 26:35Speaker 7: on the ground, hard hit balls, doubles in the gap,
- 26:38Speaker 7: that type of thing. And to me.
- 26:40Speaker 5: The timing looks off for them an awful lot.
- 26:42Speaker 7: And I don't think their pitch selection was the best
- 26:45Speaker 7: this weekend, But it's.
- 26:48Speaker 5: One of those things where.
- 26:51Speaker 7: You look at it in the vacuum, you say, okay, yea,
- 26:53Speaker 7: it was bad, Like unless you hit one sixty four
- 26:56Speaker 7: as a team over these three games.
- 26:58Speaker 5: That's not good. Like that, that's bad.
- 27:02Speaker 7: But I also can't unsee the first nine games of
- 27:05Speaker 7: the year where they hit like three sixty as a
- 27:08Speaker 7: club and score ten runs a game, Like it's in there.
- 27:11Speaker 7: We know they can do that. And last time I check,
- 27:13Speaker 7: number two is still in the dugout. So if he's
- 27:15Speaker 7: still in the dugout and running the program and working
- 27:17Speaker 7: with the hitters. They're they're gonna get it figured out.
- 27:20Speaker 7: Every team that man's ever had anywhere has hit this
- 27:22Speaker 7: one already has this year, and they will again. It's
- 27:27Speaker 7: it just wasn't great this weekend.
- 27:29Speaker 4: And this is gonna sound is gonna sound so elitist,
- 27:32Speaker 4: and I don't want it to, but it's going to.
- 27:34Speaker 6: It's fine whatever.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Like even coaching young people baseball, right when you've been
- 27:41Speaker 4: facing good staff, good staff, good staff, good staff, throwing
- 27:44Speaker 4: kind of what you've always kind of seen, right, and
- 27:47Speaker 4: then you come to a staff that's maybe hitting eighty
- 27:50Speaker 4: nine to ninety one.
- 27:51Speaker 6: Now they're hitting their spots.
- 27:51Speaker 4: You gotta give him credit, yeah, but they're not throwing
- 27:55Speaker 4: ninety four ninety six. You got to make that adjustment,
- 27:58Speaker 4: like it happens to us and youth based ball time.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Like you got guys our whole team, like their front
- 28:03Speaker 4: foot is in the very tip top of the batter's box, right,
- 28:05Speaker 4: You're trying to make those adjustments, and like sometimes you'll
- 28:09Speaker 4: have a weekend where that happens, and you got to
- 28:11Speaker 4: find a way to grid out some victories and they
- 28:12Speaker 4: have and else she's three and zero in the process
- 28:15Speaker 4: sometimes and we've seen this in LSU baseball history certainly,
- 28:19Speaker 4: when you go what you're used to seeing and then
- 28:21Speaker 4: it dips down from ninety four to ninety five to
- 28:24Speaker 4: eighty nine to ninety one, some of those adjustments don't happen.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Well, it's it feels like to me, they're trying to
- 28:29Speaker 1: kill it. Like we talked about that, We.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Talk about that they were trying to hit Tiger Stadium.
- 28:35Speaker 1: They fell behind like pretty big against McNeese, and it
- 28:38Speaker 1: looked like they were trying to kill it. I mean,
- 28:40Speaker 1: he mentioned all the popouts over the weekend. Like yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and if you guys heard Jay Johnson's postgame comments on
- 28:46Speaker 1: the radio interview on Friday night, he said, somebody else
- 28:48Speaker 1: is gonna have to run this program because I'm going
- 28:50Speaker 1: to live with this team in the batting cages. You
- 28:52Speaker 1: gotta trust that Jay Johnson's going to turn this thing around.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Somebody else is going to have to run the team
- 28:58Speaker 1: because I'm going to be in the adding cages with
- 29:00Speaker 1: these guys until further notice. And like yeah, Curie all
- 29:03Speaker 1: and Brown they were great, but like Friday night they
- 29:05Speaker 1: were good. I mean Friday night, Curiole what two for five,
- 29:08Speaker 1: scored a run two rbr's Jake Brown one for three
- 29:11Speaker 1: RBI drew a walk.
- 29:13Speaker 2: It was just after that.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I mean you you go look at the rest of
- 29:16Speaker 1: the lineup, and even with those two the last two
- 29:18Speaker 1: games of the series, I just think they're trying to
- 29:21Speaker 1: do too much.
- 29:21Speaker 2: At the play.
- 29:22Speaker 9: They went one to sixty four against two teams that
- 29:24Speaker 9: had their uniforms made by Russell Athletics.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Hey, we talked about it.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Though I didn't know they were still in business. I
- 29:32Speaker 6: don't know they're still making unis.
- 29:33Speaker 1: We talked about it though. You were like, oh, they're
- 29:37Speaker 1: facing Dartmouth nerds. They're probably studying. They don't stand a chance.
- 29:41Speaker 1: But then we were like, wait a minute, they're calculating.
- 29:43Speaker 6: The ball velocity. A bunch of nerds speaking.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Teams say, if any sport has the analytics that you
- 29:49Speaker 4: can try to cheat it here and there, it's baseball.
- 29:52Speaker 6: I don't know if Dartmouth had a player that could
- 29:54Speaker 6: see over a five eight fence. Bro. They they were not.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I'm about to look up the road.
- 30:02Speaker 7: They are not very tall out there, the big green,
- 30:06Speaker 7: the big Green, not very big.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, but they were gritty, man.
- 30:12Speaker 9: They were.
- 30:14Speaker 6: They got to be gritty with uniforms that scratchy.
- 30:17Speaker 7: That's hey man, I'll I still say the worst unions
- 30:22Speaker 7: that have come through the box so far this year
- 30:24Speaker 7: were Milwaukee, the ones they wore on Sunday where it
- 30:28Speaker 7: just said m K E across the chip I mean,
- 30:31Speaker 7: and then the state of Wisconsin on their hat and
- 30:33Speaker 7: no one could figure.
- 30:33Speaker 5: Out what it was like.
- 30:35Speaker 1: You're like, if your state is not recognized, shap like like,
- 30:38Speaker 1: let me say it's the boot. Nobody knows what Florida's like,
- 30:42Speaker 1: get your wisk, Caltain, nobody knows.
- 30:45Speaker 5: No one knows that the outline of Wisconsin looks like.
- 30:47Speaker 6: You're about to get there.
- 30:49Speaker 5: Okay, you lived here and you played there, all right.
- 30:55Speaker 4: All right, l s U Baseball gets another opportunity, as
- 30:59Speaker 4: Mouse said, coming up tonight six thirty pm, first pitch
- 31:02Speaker 4: against Northeastern. We'll see if they can get some of
- 31:05Speaker 4: those issues inside the batter's box turned around.
- 31:08Speaker 6: All right, we will take a break when we come back.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Let's maybe get into some of the top performers from
- 31:14Speaker 4: the NFL combine and we'll do it right here on

- 33:33Speaker 4: All right, NFL Combine, did we have any standout performances
- 33:39Speaker 4: that anybody in the room would like to talk about
- 33:42Speaker 4: before our wax poetic about one certain player.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yes, Xavion Thomas made himself some money over the weekend.
- 33:49Speaker 6: It's funny.
- 33:49Speaker 1: An article came out last week and uh Me and
- 33:52Speaker 1: Matt were chopping up about it. It was like five
- 33:54Speaker 1: players that could potentially break the combine forty record and
- 33:57Speaker 1: we were like, hey, two tigers are on here and
- 34:00Speaker 1: Brown and Chris Hill.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Now they both ran well.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Barreon Brown was a four four zero and I think
- 34:04Speaker 1: Chris Hilden was a four four to one. And then
- 34:06Speaker 1: I saw Xavi on Thomas go out there and on
- 34:08Speaker 1: a four to two eight, Like that should show you
- 34:12Speaker 1: the embarrassment of riches. Did LSU had last year receiver like,
- 34:16Speaker 1: which is why the administration had to make a change. Yes,
- 34:19Speaker 1: with everything, It's just like I watched it. I was like, man,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm happy for Xavi on Thomas. I was like, I'm
- 34:23Speaker 1: kind of pissed off at LSU's offense from a year
- 34:25Speaker 1: ago because I mean, not some Mayer's performing well the receivers,
- 34:28Speaker 1: but Xavi on Thomas, if you've ever heard an interview
- 34:32Speaker 1: with him, when he came out to player interviews, nicest
- 34:34Speaker 1: guy on the team, Like, couldn't happen to a better dude.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So he made himself some money over the weekend.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Love it.
- 34:40Speaker 9: I think aj Halsey not only did he confirm and
- 34:43Speaker 9: solidify his draft spot, but he probably enhances it he
- 34:47Speaker 9: goes out and runs a four or five four we
- 34:49Speaker 9: were talking about last week, all if he runs a
- 34:51Speaker 9: four to five, that answers all the questions that you
- 34:54Speaker 9: could potentially have on him.
- 34:55Speaker 4: He looked different than every safety out there in the
- 34:58Speaker 4: best way every other and he ran that.
- 35:01Speaker 6: I saw the video of hitting the gauntlet. Yeah, like,
- 35:03Speaker 6: yeah he did, You're right. He looked thick.
- 35:05Speaker 4: He looked like, I can give you some will backer
- 35:08Speaker 4: and certain defenses if no doubt, if they ask.
- 35:10Speaker 9: You to do that, Like he's he's he's screaming like
- 35:13Speaker 9: camp Chancellor to me. Yeah, that's like the comp that
- 35:16Speaker 9: I have in my head for him. I was in
- 35:18Speaker 9: I saw him run the gauntlet. Yeah, where they you
- 35:21Speaker 9: catch you catch the ball here, you turn on catch it,
- 35:23Speaker 9: then you run down the middle of the field.
- 35:25Speaker 6: And he looked a lead like people will.
- 35:26Speaker 9: Watch that and be like, oh, that was good, but
- 35:28Speaker 9: people don't understand how elite like his rep was, Like
- 35:31Speaker 9: that was a really good rep for a high profile
- 35:33Speaker 9: wide receiver. And then I also kind of look at
- 35:36Speaker 9: it too, so maybe like he's a big guy, so
- 35:40Speaker 9: I think he's six foot two fifteen. I believe this
- 35:43Speaker 9: was this host. I think got over two twenty at
- 35:44Speaker 9: the official way. So his ten yard dash was a
- 35:48Speaker 9: one point six to two, which was like in the
- 35:49Speaker 9: lower like twenty four percent, not very not very good.
- 35:52Speaker 9: But his forty yard dash was four or five to two,
- 35:54Speaker 9: which is sixty seven. So in between that ten and thirty,
- 35:57Speaker 9: so his get off isn't like the fastest, but like
- 36:00Speaker 9: in between that, he's running at an elite top speed.
- 36:03Speaker 9: Going from twenty four percent out to sixty seven in
- 36:06Speaker 9: the last half of a forty shows you, like the
- 36:10Speaker 9: top end speed that he does have and a perfect
- 36:13Speaker 9: example of a drop down safety and maybe not the free,
- 36:18Speaker 9: maybe not the free that's roaming the Earl Thomas type
- 36:21Speaker 9: of got but I think he solidified. The other guy
- 36:23Speaker 9: who I think helped himself and it has nothing to
- 36:25Speaker 9: do with what he did physically, was Garrett Neustmeyer. Yeah,
- 36:29Speaker 9: going into more detail. Now everybody's like, well, what the hell,
- 36:32Speaker 9: like this is frustrating. Now he was injured, we get it,
- 36:35Speaker 9: he's talking about it. We're probably talking to his doctors. Now, yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 9: he said it, you know, senior boy, he talked to us.
- 36:41Speaker 6: But he's the first time he ever really opened up
- 36:43Speaker 6: about it was with us. He went into more detail.
- 36:46Speaker 9: And it's the best piece of advice he could have
- 36:48Speaker 9: gotten from an agent, from a dad, from a coach.
- 36:50Speaker 9: For whoever, open up about it, give him details, create
- 36:55Speaker 9: doubt in their minds about why you played bad. And
- 37:00Speaker 9: I think just that interview alone has to like move
- 37:04Speaker 9: him up yeap, just because like, okay, well let's go
- 37:07Speaker 9: back and now we got it. We can only evaluate
- 37:09Speaker 9: when he was healthy. Now, well, when he was healthy,
- 37:11Speaker 9: he was a projected first rounder.
- 37:14Speaker 4: So in the circles that you're around and look and
- 37:18Speaker 4: there's everybody's in this room, and I mean we had
- 37:21Speaker 4: Kevin Stefanskiwa had Shane Stikeen, we had Dan Quinn, Steven
- 37:27Speaker 4: Jones from the Cowboys, Mike McDonald who just won a
- 37:29Speaker 4: Super Bowl. We had all these coaches on, right, and
- 37:31Speaker 4: so you hear stuff, You hear people talking, You hear
- 37:35Speaker 4: some different whispers going on. And Garrett Nessmeyer, I think
- 37:38Speaker 4: is actually more talked about in a positive way in
- 37:42Speaker 4: those circles than he is like maybe in a national narrative.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Now some of that's coming around too, but he's still
- 37:50Speaker 4: very well liked. Oh yeah, and you hear things like
- 37:53Speaker 4: but you don't know how he crushed the interviews and
- 37:56Speaker 4: like we knew that was going to happen if we
- 37:59Speaker 4: can get him back to health of the year before,
- 38:02Speaker 4: Like we feel like this guy's going to be steal
- 38:04Speaker 4: Like those conversations.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Were going on.
- 38:06Speaker 9: Yeah, this is going to be such an interesting draft,
- 38:08Speaker 9: such an interesting offseason at the quarterback position in the NFL,
- 38:13Speaker 9: the NFL. The quarterback position in the NFL is such
- 38:15Speaker 9: a healthy spot. There's so many good players, Like it
- 38:18Speaker 9: was hard making a top ten list every single week
- 38:21Speaker 9: during the season because who do I keep out? Who
- 38:23Speaker 9: do I put in? Like there's so much great NFL
- 38:26Speaker 9: quarterback play happening. But this is such an intriguing offseason
- 38:30Speaker 9: because you want to hear your list of free agents
- 38:33Speaker 9: Yeat Tua, got Kyler, Murray Kirk, Cousins, Gina Smith, Malik Willis, period.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 4: So if you're the Jets and you need a quarterback,
- 38:46Speaker 4: and that's the list that you hear if you don't,
- 38:50Speaker 4: if you don't get one, or even trying, But who
- 38:52Speaker 4: they going to get because that free agent classes week.
- 38:56Speaker 9: I'll tell you what they do have. They have six
- 38:58Speaker 9: first rounders and they on draft day they'll have seven
- 39:04Speaker 9: because you can you can trade up to I think
- 39:06Speaker 9: four drafts in advance and on draft day they'll have seven.
- 39:10Speaker 9: They can have a lot of quarterbacks we got. You
- 39:13Speaker 9: want to talk about a blockbuster trade if they want to, Yeah,
- 39:16Speaker 9: how about five first rounders for Frenanda Mendoza, five first
- 39:19Speaker 9: rounders for Joe Burrow, five first rounders.
- 39:22Speaker 6: For Lamar Jackson.
- 39:23Speaker 9: Like at some point, everybody's got a price that is
- 39:26Speaker 9: a price that the Jets can match, and only the
- 39:29Speaker 9: Jets can match.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Yep. So there's a weak list of free agents yep.
- 39:33Speaker 4: And you can't win if you ain't out one, you
- 39:35Speaker 4: can't do it. And you can say old Sam Sam
- 39:38Speaker 4: Donald's the top five pick. They went to a horrible franchise.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Speaking of the Jets, it's not like he forgot how
- 39:46Speaker 4: to play quarterback. He just went to a terrible situation,
- 39:49Speaker 4: was still very young and found his way. Look at
- 39:53Speaker 4: the quarterbacks that have won the Super Bowls, look at
- 39:55Speaker 4: the quarterbacks that have made the playoffs. There's a reason
- 39:58Speaker 4: why we all know exactly where Brock already got selected,
- 40:01Speaker 4: because he's the outlier.
- 40:03Speaker 9: You gotta have that, dude, Daniel bashm great point five
- 40:06Speaker 9: first round US for Rattler, no doubt.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Oh we'll get to somebody that. Come on, man, tell
- 40:13Speaker 4: me you don't know football without telling me you don't
- 40:14Speaker 4: know football. But anyways, Moose for you take a break,
- 40:17Speaker 4: because mine's gonna take a whole segment somebody that shoot
- 40:22Speaker 4: out to you.
- 40:23Speaker 7: Uh yeah, well I was actually gonna go with nuss
- 40:26Speaker 7: Meyer for the for the reason that Flynn said, Man,
- 40:28Speaker 7: it looked like he threw the ball really well too.
- 40:29Speaker 5: So not only did he.
- 40:30Speaker 7: Explain the injury in great detail be able to really
- 40:33Speaker 7: control that narrative, he also went out there and showed
- 40:35Speaker 7: that he was healthy. He saw a couple of the
- 40:37Speaker 7: deep ones that he was able to uncork kind of
- 40:39Speaker 7: just on social media. And I mean you patch that
- 40:42Speaker 7: up with his performance at the Senior Bowl and then
- 40:46Speaker 7: the combine. I mean, I get it, this season didn't
- 40:49Speaker 7: go the way he wants. You don't have as much
- 40:51Speaker 7: tape recently, but as you said, Matt, I mean he
- 40:54Speaker 7: just told you.
- 40:54Speaker 5: I basically couldn't throw the football. Yeah, this past season.
- 40:57Speaker 7: So you go back to four when when he was
- 41:00Speaker 7: really really healthy and really good, and I think, I
- 41:04Speaker 7: don't know if it's enough to play himself back in
- 41:05Speaker 7: the first round, but I think he's definitely risen on
- 41:08Speaker 7: day two.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he's definitely in the conversation of second quarterback off
- 41:11Speaker 4: the board, I heard that with my own ears there,
- 41:13Speaker 4: Boots free Agents.
- 41:15Speaker 6: We just gave you, all right, when.
- 41:17Speaker 4: We come back in the last segment of hour number one,
- 41:19Speaker 4: I'll give you the player that stood out to me
- 41:21Speaker 4: the most at the NFL scouting combine, and we'll do
- 41:24Speaker 4: it right here on OTB.
- 41:26Speaker 5: Off the bench.
- 41:34Speaker 10: The morning.
- 41:36Speaker 3: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 41:39Speaker 3: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 41:43Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in OTB here on this Monday morning. Uh,
- 41:48Speaker 4: being in Indianapolis for the last week, had a chance
- 41:50Speaker 4: to catch up with, as we said, sixty sixty five
- 41:52Speaker 4: players I know somewhere around that and a lot of
- 41:57Speaker 4: really really good, just young men I think going into
- 42:00Speaker 4: the NFL well spoken right reasons. Uh, very refreshing to
- 42:04Speaker 4: kind of have those conversations with them. But one stood
- 42:07Speaker 4: out more than any other player this is before testing,
- 42:10Speaker 4: before he did what he did on the field, and
- 42:13Speaker 4: that was Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles blew me away
- 42:17Speaker 4: with his football like you during the interview. His dad
- 42:20Speaker 4: played six years in the NFL. His brother ran a
- 42:22Speaker 4: four to two eight at the NFL Combine as well,
- 42:25Speaker 4: So it certainly comes from a nice lineage there. But
- 42:29Speaker 4: just hearing him talk about coverages, hearing him talk about
- 42:32Speaker 4: run fits and all these different things blew me away.
- 42:35Speaker 6: And then he went out.
- 42:36Speaker 4: There and put on an epic performance. So he measured
- 42:39Speaker 4: in at six four and some change two hundred and
- 42:43Speaker 4: forty four pounds, ran a four to four to six,
- 42:47Speaker 4: vertical jump of forty three and a half, a broad
- 42:50Speaker 4: jump of eleven to two, crushed the three cones seven
- 42:53Speaker 4: zero nine forty yard schednel four.
- 42:55Speaker 6: To two six.
- 42:57Speaker 4: He has started over forty games at Ohio State, played
- 43:00Speaker 4: in over fifty and is still twenty one years old.
- 43:05Speaker 6: I'll say that again.
- 43:06Speaker 4: He started over forty games already in his college career
- 43:09Speaker 4: as twenty one years old.
- 43:11Speaker 6: Did that as a seventeen year old.
- 43:12Speaker 4: He started at safety, moved to nickel, and then became
- 43:16Speaker 4: the Green Dot Mike linebacker. You know how hard that
- 43:19Speaker 4: is to do to be able to do all three
- 43:20Speaker 4: of those things. But he did them at an incredibly
- 43:23Speaker 4: high level. So if you're in the camp of you
- 43:26Speaker 4: can't take an off the ball linebacker at this spot,
- 43:29Speaker 4: you don't know the player. You're just saying that based
- 43:31Speaker 4: off other players. I love Jacob Rodriguez, he can't take
- 43:34Speaker 4: him there.
- 43:35Speaker 6: I get that.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Sonny Styles is not Jacob Rodriguez, and I mean that
- 43:37Speaker 4: with all due respect. Sonny Styles is a game changer.
- 43:41Speaker 4: He's lined up on all three levels. He can continue
- 43:44Speaker 4: to line up in multiple spots. He can line up
- 43:46Speaker 4: on the edge here, he can line up as a
- 43:48Speaker 4: green dot mike linebacker. He can line up wherever you
- 43:50Speaker 4: need him. If you have a pick and you're in
- 43:53Speaker 4: the top ten, do not put Sonny Styles in the
- 43:57Speaker 4: same camp as every other off the ball linebacker.
- 44:00Speaker 6: He's different.
- 44:01Speaker 4: He's different with his football IQ, he's different with his
- 44:03Speaker 4: skill set, and he has gotten forty five starts twenty
- 44:07Speaker 4: one years old. There's still more development that can be
- 44:09Speaker 4: had with Sunny Styles. We'll be back hour number two
- 44:12Speaker 4: off the bench
