- 0:00Speaker 1: You have some closing with you. I just want to
- 0:07Speaker 1: remind people or encourage people, don't. I don't know what
- 0:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna be doing depends on who I'm talking to.
- 0:14Speaker 1: But right now I'm just talking about your dreams. Dreams
- 0:18Speaker 1: are important. I've said this hundreds of times on this show.
- 0:25Speaker 1: The Bible says a man without a dream or a
- 0:27Speaker 1: vision show parish. Well, you know they're talking about everybody. Now.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you what this meant to me, because
- 0:39Speaker 1: that was a time that I wasn't pursuing my dreams.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you what I felt like. I
- 0:46Speaker 1: felt like I was dying. I really really did. When
- 0:51Speaker 1: I wasn't doing the thing that I was born to do.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I was constantly searching for what it was to do.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And I mean I tried everything. I've worked at engine plants,
- 1:06Speaker 1: auto industry, I've been in the insurance industry. I've had
- 1:11Speaker 1: my own business. I've tried selling Amway, Shackly products, did
- 1:17Speaker 1: Gregory Bohemian diet, I did though Al Williams Insurance, I
- 1:23Speaker 1: did Amway. It wasn't nothing. I was not willing to
- 1:28Speaker 1: try to try to accomplish my goals, my goals were
- 1:32Speaker 1: to be free and to be well off. Those were
- 1:36Speaker 1: my goals, to be free and to be well off.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Now those were my goals. That doesn't have to be
- 1:44Speaker 1: your goals. See, everybody's different. Your goal may be to
- 1:48Speaker 1: climb the corporate letter. Do that. I applaud that your
- 1:54Speaker 1: goal may be to owner business, being an entrepreneur, do that.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I applaud that your goal may be to become a teacher.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Do that, a nurse, a police officer, a fireman. I
- 2:05Speaker 1: applaud that that's your goal. It takes all of these
- 2:09Speaker 1: people to make this world go round. But you know
- 2:12Speaker 1: what you've got to do. You've got to pursue that dream.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Anything else, man, is going to leave you unfulfilled. It's
- 2:23Speaker 1: going to leave you lacking. Man, What a horrible existence
- 2:29Speaker 1: that will be if you do that for the rest
- 2:32Speaker 1: of your life. If you settle for not being what
- 2:36Speaker 1: you could have been, by settling for just being what
- 2:39Speaker 1: you are now. I know that being what you are,
- 2:42Speaker 1: being what you wanna be is going to require more
- 2:45Speaker 1: of an effort. But ain't that what it's about. Why
- 2:49Speaker 1: would you settle for being less than your maximum? Why
- 2:55Speaker 1: would you just kick back and go, well, oh, well,
- 2:58Speaker 1: this is it for me? When they don't have to be,
- 3:02Speaker 1: it can be so much more. I would wake I
- 3:06Speaker 1: would rather wake up with the anticipation of trying to
- 3:11Speaker 1: accomplish what it is I wanted to become. I would
- 3:15Speaker 1: rather just wake up that way instead of waking up
- 3:19Speaker 1: miserable every morning, dreading to go down to this job
- 3:24Speaker 1: that I care nothing about. Now, look, well, Steve, I
- 3:31Speaker 1: can't just quit my job. Okay, okay, So what's the alternative?
- 3:37Speaker 1: So you are just gonna keep going down there and
- 3:42Speaker 1: not and not do what you were born to do.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I understand it. I understand that you have responsibilities. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: understand that there's people counting on you. I understand you
- 3:54Speaker 1: got overhead, house note, car note, bills, groceries. I understand that.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But I also understand you gonna have that anyway. I
- 4:04Speaker 1: understand that. What I'm trying to get you to understand
- 4:09Speaker 1: is is it worth the chance of being what you
- 4:14Speaker 1: could be? I think it is. I think it is.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I think it's worth a shot to go and do
- 4:23Speaker 1: the thing that you were born to do. I think
- 4:26Speaker 1: it's worth a shot to go and see how you
- 4:29Speaker 1: can maximize your potential as a person. I think it's
- 4:33Speaker 1: worth a shot to wake up every day and pursue
- 4:36Speaker 1: a going in a dream that you admire and hope
- 4:39Speaker 1: and a spot to become. I think it's worth a shot.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I do, and I'm just here encurage those of you
- 4:48Speaker 1: that may be on the fence about it. Look, this
- 4:51Speaker 1: ain't gonna touch everybody. Oh, I understand that. I understand
- 4:56Speaker 1: that fully, And I guess I'm not talking to. I'm
- 5:01Speaker 1: just talking to the ones that this can hit with
- 5:05Speaker 1: that if you know, if you are sitting up and
- 5:07Speaker 1: you've ever wondered, if you've ever had this thought, Man,
- 5:11Speaker 1: it's got to be more to life than this right here,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I promise you that's cause it is. And that's God
- 5:18Speaker 1: telling you over and over and over. If you are
- 5:21Speaker 1: getting tired of settling for who you are, then it's
- 5:25Speaker 1: time for you to flip the script and becomes something else.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It's nothing wrong with reinventing yourself. I was talking to
- 5:32Speaker 1: my girl last night. She said, Steve, I can't tell
- 5:36Speaker 1: you how many times I have to watch you reinvent yourself.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Just her appreciation, just her appreciating that means the world
- 5:43Speaker 1: to me. But you can do it, man, It's never
- 5:46Speaker 1: too late to reinvent yourself. Listen to me, y'all, change
- 5:51Speaker 1: is inevitable. You have two choices. You can react to
- 5:57Speaker 1: the change, or you can participate in the change. Because
- 6:00Speaker 1: it's coming. It's inevitable. Now, which one you're gonna do.
- 6:05Speaker 1: If you react to it, you're gonna be behind the
- 6:08Speaker 1: eight ball. If you participate in it, you have a say.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Soul is your life. God gave us the power of choice.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You have a say, soul, folks, Come on, man, make
- 6:19Speaker 1: the choice to maximize your life. Be all that you
- 6:23Speaker 1: can be. Those are my closing remarks. Man, I'm just
- 6:27Speaker 1: trying to hit it where it hit. If it hits,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you could if it didn't. Maybe. For all Steve Harvey contests,
