  Maharashtra. Today's Bible reading is from
• 1:11
  Philippians 1/6. He who began the good work in
• 1:15
  you will carry it on to completion until the day of
• 1:18
  Jesus Christ. Recently, I took up gardening
• 1:21
  and planted a few decorative seeds.
• 1:24
  One of them was a decorative palm.
• 1:26
  I sowed all the seeds and watered them faithfully.
• 1:29
  Within a few days, tiny shoots began to breakthrough the soil.
• 1:33
  Except in the pot where I had planted the palm seed, there was
• 1:37
  nothing. Still, I continued to water it.
• 1:40
  Even after a month, there was number sign of life.
• 1:43
  Disheartened, I assumed the seed was bad.
• 1:47
  I felt my time, effort and patience had been wasted.
• 1:52
  Just before reporting, I decided to look up how this particular
• 1:56
  palm really grows. To my surprise, I discovered
• 2:00
  that this species takes one to two months to emerge from the
• 2:03
  soil. Suddenly, everything made sense.
• 2:06
  My efforts had not been wasted. The process simply required time
• 2:11
  and I was comparing it with the other plants that grew faster.
• 2:15
  A totally wrong comparison. Often this is exactly what
• 2:19
  happens in our spiritual lives. There are seasons when we feel
• 2:23
  buried, unseen, forgotten and alone.
• 2:28
  Our faithfulness appears unnoticed and our efforts seem
• 2:31
  fruitless. Adding to the struggle is
• 2:34
  comparison. Some people seem to grow quickly
• 2:37
  while others wait much longer. But growth has never been
• 2:41
  uniform. For some the process is short,
• 2:44
  for the other others it takes long time.
• 2:47
  Comparison only drains our piece of peace and serves no purpose
• 2:51
  in God's timing. Scripture guides us through the
• 2:54
  lives of God's people. Consider Joseph.
• 2:58
  He was taken away from his family, sold by his own
• 3:01
  brothers, imprisoned for the crime he did not commit,
• 3:04
  forgotten by the cup bearer who had promised to help.
• 3:08
  Storm after storm battered his life.
• 3:11
  From a human perspective, everything seemed lost, His
• 3:15
  dreams, his hard work, even his faithfulness.
• 3:20
  Yet God was still at work, unseen but intentional.
• 3:25
  When we attempted to give on ourselves, God has not given
• 3:28
  upon us. Sometimes our process takes
• 3:31
  longer than others. As Philippians 116 reminds us,
• 3:36
  God always finishes what He begins, and when His work is
• 3:40
  complete, He often makes His channels of grace, using our
• 3:44
  journey to bless many others. Trust the process.
• 3:48
  What is planted in faith will rise in God's perfect timing.
• 3:52
  Let's pray. God of hope, with thank you for
• 3:55
  being with us in every storm and valley.
• 3:58
  When with thought all was over with us.

  You walked us through to the light we never imagined.

  When our strength failed, You made us complete.
• 4:08
  Thank you Lord for walking with us.
