- 0:00Speaker 1: Greg Tepper is the managing editor Dave Campill's Texas Football magazine,
- 0:03Speaker 1: co host of High School Scoreboard Live along with Aaron
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hartigan And when I don't have a football or basketball
- 0:09Speaker 1: conflict myself as well. Tep does not have red hair,
- 0:14Speaker 1: but he does have plenty of hair. And would you
- 0:18Speaker 1: have bet the hair on your head that Rice was
- 0:21Speaker 1: going to hire Scott. I guess it's Abel to replace
- 0:24Speaker 1: Mike Bloomberm as the head coach of the Owls coming
- 0:27Speaker 1: in from Davidson.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Uh No, I would not have. I would not have
- 0:33Speaker 2: bet the hair on my head. That is. It's a
- 0:37Speaker 2: bit of a stunner. You know, we have been tracking
- 0:39Speaker 2: the story. Mike Craven had had sources saying that he
- 0:43Speaker 2: believes that what was most likely was the was that
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yale's coach was going to be headed that way specifically.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know there's a guy who has led them to
- 0:53Speaker 2: three ivy leaes called Tony Reno is his name, that
- 0:57Speaker 2: he was the favorite and then they zig when they's
- 0:59Speaker 2: at when they said they were gonna zagh. You know,
- 1:02Speaker 2: this is a really interesting high up skate. Scott Abel
- 1:05Speaker 2: is a bit of an He's a bit of a
- 1:07Speaker 2: football wonk Darling in the sense of he runs essentially
- 1:12Speaker 2: like the pistol triple option, and they run the stinking ball.
- 1:15Speaker 2: It is an old school style of offense. I believe
- 1:19Speaker 2: they are second in FCS in rushing yards this past year,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and he's been a winner there at Davidson. It is
- 1:26Speaker 2: certainly off the beaten path for Rice. You know, when
- 1:30Speaker 2: they when they hired Mike Bloomgren, he was a bit
- 1:32Speaker 2: of a known commodity there at Stanford, is the offensive
- 1:35Speaker 2: coordinator there at Stanford. Uh, this is definitely an off
- 1:40Speaker 2: the board choice. He has no ties to the state
- 1:43Speaker 2: of Texas that we know of. I'm sure he's visited,
- 1:46Speaker 2: but that's about it. Uh. And so that will be
- 1:48Speaker 2: an uphill climb there for Rice as far as as
- 1:50Speaker 2: far as they're concerned, but as far as the product
- 1:52Speaker 2: on the field, there's no doubt that he's won wherever
- 1:55Speaker 2: he's gone, and he has an identity, and they're gonna
- 1:57Speaker 2: they're gonna run the dang ball. And I would imagine
- 1:59Speaker 2: that's what we'll see.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I start doing well.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And I can tell you having grown up in the
- 2:03Speaker 1: state of North Carolina, and I had a couple of
- 2:05Speaker 1: friends get into Davidson College. Davidson is a lot like Rice,
- 2:10Speaker 1: about three thousand students and a high academic school. So
- 2:13Speaker 1: maybe he's used to, you know, being able to recruit
- 2:15Speaker 1: to that. Certainly did it at the FCS level. Now
- 2:18Speaker 1: the D one level. Now I got to ask you this,
- 2:20Speaker 1: what is a better story in college football in the
- 2:24Speaker 1: state of Texas this week? And we're removing Texas and
- 2:27Speaker 1: Texas A and M from the equation. Okay, so we're
- 2:30Speaker 1: just pulling that out. What is a better story SMU
- 2:35Speaker 1: having already clinched an ACC championship game, birth can creep
- 2:39Speaker 1: closer toward a college football playoff if they handle their
- 2:41Speaker 1: business against col or the fact that you've got Hard
- 2:46Speaker 1: and Simmons getting ready to play Mary Harden Baylor for
- 2:48Speaker 1: the third time this year.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Third, yeah time this year.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I would need to check the last time that you
- 2:58Speaker 2: had teams play each other three times in a season.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I guess theoretically, like there's an opportunity now that, like
- 3:08Speaker 2: some of these conferences have gone away from divisions. Do
- 3:10Speaker 2: you play each other in stute, you know, in the season,
- 3:13Speaker 2: and then you could play each other again in the
- 3:15Speaker 2: conference championship game, and then you could play each other
- 3:17Speaker 2: again in a playoff, but a three three matches is
- 3:20Speaker 2: very rare, and especially a three match between what can
- 3:24Speaker 2: only be described as hated rivals. If you don't know this,
- 3:27Speaker 2: Mary Aarn Baylor and Hard and Simmons don't like each other.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And it is I mean, and and for Hard and Simmons,
- 3:32Speaker 2: they've been they've been real dang tied to hearing about
- 3:35Speaker 2: Mary Hard and Baylor, and they've been off winning national
- 3:36Speaker 2: championships and they feel like this is their time. So
- 3:39Speaker 2: with all due respect to S and U, I feel
- 3:42Speaker 2: like the I feel like for the the S and
- 3:44Speaker 2: U story, this is the chapter before the chapter when
- 3:47Speaker 2: they play in the a SEC Championship game that of
- 3:49Speaker 2: course will be will be a game to behold because
- 3:52Speaker 2: they can clinch an automatic birth to the college football playoffs.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So with all due respect to the Ponies, I'm going
- 3:57Speaker 2: to wait a week before I put them in the
- 3:59Speaker 2: spotlight because this week it is all about the third
- 4:02Speaker 2: meeting between Mary Hard and by An Hard and Simon.
- 4:05Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And again for folks who didn't know, and we've talked
- 4:07Speaker 1: about Hard and Simmons, what a big year they're having.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Kyle Brown their quarterback, Vistaadge product, and of course his
- 4:13Speaker 1: dad was the offensive coordinator there is now the offensive
- 4:16Speaker 1: coordinator at Maynor.
- 4:17Speaker 3: But yeah, that's uh, that's a that's a big thing there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Okay, Uh, what's what's the buzz in the office about that?
- 4:25Speaker 3: That game over in the Brasses Valley? Uh?
- 4:27Speaker 1: On, And and let's let's not kid ourselves, tap, let's
- 4:32Speaker 1: not kit ourselves as big as Texas Texas A and
- 4:36Speaker 1: M is this week. If we get a quarterfinal between
- 4:39Speaker 1: A and M consolidated and college station in a rematch
- 4:42Speaker 1: next week.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I'm just saying, you know.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I thought that maybe the game, you know, I didn't
- 4:48Speaker 2: know if there was a high school maybe like the
- 4:49Speaker 2: Franklin game was what you're referring to. But no, look,
- 4:53Speaker 2: A and M in Texas is Uh, it is what
- 4:55Speaker 2: we expected it to be. It's it's a big game. Uh,
- 4:58Speaker 2: it is a I don't I know what. Let me
- 5:01Speaker 2: put this one. I think everybody it is not a
- 5:04Speaker 2: hot take at the beginning of the season to say, boy,
- 5:07Speaker 2: Texas and Texas A and M is a big game.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Of course it is. But I do think that it
- 5:11Speaker 2: is a surprise the stakes that are at play here
- 5:14Speaker 2: specifically because I think Texas, let's say they've played to
- 5:17Speaker 2: their paper, They've played to their expectation, and I would
- 5:20Speaker 2: say that A and M for the most part has
- 5:23Speaker 2: perhaps slightly exceeded expectations. The first year of Mike Elco
- 5:27Speaker 2: certainly looked or at the very least, the SEC is
- 5:32Speaker 2: such a such a mess that A and M being
- 5:35Speaker 2: in a win and in situation for the college for
- 5:38Speaker 2: for you know, they control their own destiny for the
- 5:40Speaker 2: college football Playoff at this point in time is certainly,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I think a surprise. I think this game is obviously
- 5:48Speaker 2: box office for all the reasons that I don't need
- 5:50Speaker 2: to tell Texas and A and M fans about. The
- 5:52Speaker 2: thing that I think is most interesting in this matchup
- 5:55Speaker 2: is going to be the not just the scene, but
- 5:58Speaker 2: who is able to handle seeing the most. I think
- 6:00Speaker 2: what's really interesting is is throughout the course of the
- 6:03Speaker 2: week you've heard from players and journalists like us have
- 6:06Speaker 2: gotten up there and said, well, what does this game
- 6:08Speaker 2: mean to you? And a lot of them have simply said, like,
- 6:10Speaker 2: you know, I didn't grow up with this game. You know,
- 6:12Speaker 2: it's been dormant for them for the large part of
- 6:14Speaker 2: my football consciousness. So I know we're supposed to beat them,
- 6:18Speaker 2: but I'm not sure exactly what that means. I think
- 6:20Speaker 2: that'll change once they got on the field, and once
- 6:22Speaker 2: these two I think all I think all it's going
- 6:24Speaker 2: to take is about one quarter of play and everyone's
- 6:27Speaker 2: going to remember why why these two teams don't like
- 6:29Speaker 2: each other. That'll be really interesting to see how that blossoms,
- 6:32Speaker 2: because I think for a lot of these players, it
- 6:34Speaker 2: really is just another game. But I think that's going
- 6:38Speaker 2: to change once the once the atmosphere and the weight
- 6:41Speaker 2: of the game really start to take hold, probably about
- 6:43Speaker 2: fifteen minutes in.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, the things that I hear from the players are
- 6:48Speaker 1: similar to what the things you hear, like say. I'll
- 6:52Speaker 1: just use this as an example of Texas where to
- 6:54Speaker 1: play Baylor or TCU or Texas Tech.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And here's what I mean by this.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Jade Baron yesterday, the FOURPE Reward finalists and a captain
- 7:02Speaker 1: and all this stuff. He said, and they were asking
- 7:04Speaker 1: him about you know, because it's could be his first
- 7:06Speaker 1: time playing against A and M, and he said. I
- 7:08Speaker 1: joked with him, I said, uh, you've been here long eno,
- 7:10Speaker 1: because he's a six year senior or a joke with
- 7:12Speaker 1: him the other day on the post game. He said,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you just barely missed it the last time. But I said, uh,
- 7:18Speaker 1: somebody asked him about this and how much and the
- 7:20Speaker 1: rivalry and this and that, and his response was to say, yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I got some friends who play at A and M,
- 7:25Speaker 1: so I know.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Some guys over there.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's what we hear him say about
- 7:30Speaker 1: Baylor or TC were tech same.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Thing, absolutely, absolutely, in the same way. It's like, oh yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 2: like the guy that I played against in high school
- 7:38Speaker 2: and and and he was he was the third ranked
- 7:40Speaker 2: cornerback and I was the fourth ranth cornerback in the class.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Like those are the guys That's why I want to
- 7:45Speaker 2: go out there and beat But that's the same way
- 7:46Speaker 2: when when you're going to play in Alabama, that's the
- 7:48Speaker 2: same way when you're going to play you know you're
- 7:50Speaker 2: going to play that. So that's what's going to be
- 7:51Speaker 2: interesting is to see what this new generation feels like
- 7:55Speaker 2: about this rivalry, which which does exist in a different uh,
- 7:59Speaker 2: it's a different you know atmosphere, is a different kind
- 8:01Speaker 2: of zeitgeist of college football as far as like you know,
- 8:05Speaker 2: these games, like the sport's much more nationalized. I think
- 8:08Speaker 2: that what Nate tex is in A and M so
- 8:10Speaker 2: special in the yesteryear was that college Well that was
- 8:13Speaker 2: in the age when college football is much more regionalized.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Now you know, you're you know, and I'm playing conference
- 8:19Speaker 2: games against South Carolina. It's a different ballgame, and I'm
- 8:22Speaker 2: interested to see how much this this rivalry really takes hold, no.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Doubt about it.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Visiting mcgreg tepper managing editor Dave Campbell, Texas Football Magazine.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Here in the prayer, Okay, let's jump to high school.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I'm going to do something difference with you this time
- 8:33Speaker 1: because we're down to the sweet sixteen in all the
- 8:36Speaker 1: eleven man brackets and to an elite eight in the
- 8:40Speaker 1: six man So what I'm going to do is, because
- 8:43Speaker 1: this is very convenient, I can go region by region
- 8:47Speaker 1: where there are two games and ask you which game
- 8:51Speaker 1: has you has your attention as more of your attention
- 8:56Speaker 1: which one does. For example, six A Division one Region one,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you got uh, North Crowley against Coppel. Of course that's
- 9:04Speaker 1: your alma maters, so that's probably an unfair question. Uh
- 9:07Speaker 1: and then and then uh and and they're playing in
- 9:09Speaker 1: Mansfield on Saturday Friday late Friday afternoon, Ulish Trinity and
- 9:14Speaker 1: Allen they're playing in South Lake, which one kind of
- 9:16Speaker 1: sticks out to you more.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I think it has to be the battle of unbeatens
- 9:20Speaker 2: North Crowley and Copel. Certainly, that's that's I think going
- 9:23Speaker 2: to be the big game. I will say that, you know,
- 9:26Speaker 2: Allan and Yulis Trinity does feel like a throwback to
- 9:28Speaker 2: about ten years ago of like these two programs back
- 9:32Speaker 2: in a major spot, and this Trinity team's played really well.
- 9:35Speaker 2: They're kind of vintage Trinity. It's probably the two teams
- 9:38Speaker 2: that like like they're they're the most back, uh you know,
- 9:42Speaker 2: they're the they are kind of the the revenge of
- 9:44Speaker 2: the Old Guard. So that game is interesting. But I
- 9:46Speaker 2: think North Crawley Copel's the play here.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Region two Duncanville in the Woodlands.
- 9:51Speaker 1: For folks who might be looking for a good game
- 9:52Speaker 1: Saturday afternoons in Huddo.
- 9:54Speaker 3: At one o'clock, you have that one and then and
- 9:57Speaker 3: then if.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You're looking for a good game in the area, like said,
- 10:00Speaker 1: Waksahatchie and Bridgeland are playing at the field in Flugerville
- 10:05Speaker 1: on Saturday, so you got two in the area for
- 10:08Speaker 1: Region two.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Which one stands out more to you?
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's Bridgeland and Waksahatchie simply because I think
- 10:16Speaker 2: I think, I think Duncanville is a pretty clear favorite
- 10:18Speaker 2: over the Woodlands, and I think that this Bridgeland Walks
- 10:20Speaker 2: Hatchy game has an opportunity to be more of the
- 10:22Speaker 2: most evenly matched games of the week. I love the
- 10:24Speaker 2: Walks of Hatchie passing attack. This Bridgeland team has survived
- 10:28Speaker 2: big blow after big blow from teams. They've taken their
- 10:31Speaker 2: best punch. I like this game a lot. I think
- 10:34Speaker 2: that that's and I think it has to be more competitive,
- 10:36Speaker 2: probably than the Duncanville who feel like they're steamrolling people
- 10:39Speaker 2: at the moment.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of clear favorites, Region three one that to
- 10:44Speaker 1: use your term would be box office, Katie and north
- 10:47Speaker 1: Shore at the computer likes north Shore by seventeen and
- 10:51Speaker 1: then you got full sure and a task seat in
- 10:54Speaker 1: the computer likes a Task con seeded by thirteen.
- 10:56Speaker 3: What do you think you can make of those twos?
- 10:59Speaker 2: So Katie and north to play here? I mean, these
- 11:01Speaker 2: are the d two high school football programs of record
- 11:05Speaker 2: in Houston, and they do it in such different ways.
- 11:07Speaker 2: It's strange to remember they haven't played in the playoffs
- 11:10Speaker 2: since twenty nineteen. It's been a minute since because a
- 11:13Speaker 2: lot of Katie's just gone D two a lot. But
- 11:16Speaker 2: this is a fabulous, fabulous ball game, great stylistic clash.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Can the Katie defense keep a lid on North Shore?
- 11:26Speaker 2: And for how long can the running game get going?
- 11:28Speaker 2: It's at NRG. There's gonna be twenty thousand people there.
- 11:31Speaker 2: It's gonna be a fantastic game. But don't overlook at
- 11:33Speaker 2: that bullshyear at task to the game a task Casita
- 11:36Speaker 2: has had two kind of dicey calls the first two
- 11:39Speaker 2: weeks of the year of the playoffs, and fullisher is
- 11:42Speaker 2: good enough to beat them if they if they go
- 11:44Speaker 2: out there and they play with their food. If I'm
- 11:46Speaker 2: fond of saying, then I think this is this is
- 11:48Speaker 2: This has an opportunity to be a bit of a
- 11:51Speaker 2: Thanksgiving weekend stunner.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Is it safe to say, folks in the Greater Austin
- 11:54Speaker 1: area just going to keep your power to drive one
- 11:56Speaker 1: more week because it's like Travis and East Central and
- 11:58Speaker 1: less like commuted John's. And then we'll talk next week
- 12:01Speaker 1: about serious business about a lake Travis Westlake rematch in
- 12:05Speaker 1: the quarterfinals.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I think both the Austin area teams are clear favorites.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I will say though, District twenty nine to six a
- 12:11Speaker 2: one of only two districts in the state with all
- 12:13Speaker 2: four teams still alive with East Central and Buda Johnson
- 12:17Speaker 2: probably aside, along with New bron Fols Canyon and Sibilo
- 12:21Speaker 2: Steel there in the D two ranks. But yeah, I
- 12:23Speaker 2: think it probably ends this week.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Vander Griffin Steele, what do you make of that.
- 12:28Speaker 2: One true fascinating ball game. This is a Vandergrift team
- 12:31Speaker 2: that remember they lost that season opener, and then since
- 12:34Speaker 2: then they have been a house on fire. They are
- 12:36Speaker 2: taking on a Sibilo Steel team that is loaded with playmakers.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Absolutely look Chad Warren or Jalen Cooper. They have got
- 12:43Speaker 2: dudes all over the field. It's this is San Antonio's
- 12:46Speaker 2: best shot. This is San Antonio's best shot I think
- 12:49Speaker 2: of getting a team to win the region, but this
- 12:51Speaker 2: is the big is a big hurdle for them because
- 12:53Speaker 2: a Vandergrift team that is playing really, really well and
- 12:56Speaker 2: with a ton of confidence. I think I took Steel.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I think they're fire power might be a little bit
- 13:01Speaker 2: too much. But I think this is a really interesting ballgame.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And if history is any guy who, then Austin will
- 13:06Speaker 2: continue to stranglehold over San Antonio.
- 13:08Speaker 3: No doubt about. Okay, before I jump out of six A, the.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Game you have you have Saturday night for folks in
- 13:14Speaker 1: the Desto and Willis. So if Texas jumps out to
- 13:18Speaker 1: a huge lead on Texas A and M and your
- 13:19Speaker 1: board with it or whatever, understand Uh, they're on your
- 13:23Speaker 1: local FanDuel network. You can see De Soto and Willis
- 13:28Speaker 1: there at the Star in Frisco, and you and the
- 13:32Speaker 1: inivitable Ashley Pickle will be on.
- 13:35Speaker 3: The call for that. Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I grew up dreaming of counter programming A and M
- 13:41Speaker 2: in Texas. It's just it's what a real dream for me.
- 13:45Speaker 2: It is a great it's a fabulous game. I think
- 13:47Speaker 2: Willis could do it. They're an underdog. They're an underdog,
- 13:51Speaker 2: but I think Willis can do it. They have got
- 13:53Speaker 2: if you've never seen them. They lose DJ Lagway and
- 13:55Speaker 2: mister texasball the graduation, and I think there's an argument
- 13:59Speaker 2: to be made that they are even better. In twenty
- 14:01Speaker 2: twenty four, quarterback Jack Emerson has been fantastic. They have
- 14:03Speaker 2: Dremaine Bishop, who I think is the Travis Hunter of
- 14:05Speaker 2: Texas high school football. He's playing both ways at a
- 14:09Speaker 2: super high level for them. But they are taking on
- 14:12Speaker 2: the two time defending sixth A Division two stay champs
- 14:14Speaker 2: in De Soto with Tiger Wrighten with Daleen, Singleton with
- 14:17Speaker 2: Quiel and Abram, I mean they're loaded for bear. I've
- 14:20Speaker 2: been running for a fascinating and high octane ballgame at
- 14:23Speaker 2: the Star. It's the final game of the playoff of
- 14:26Speaker 2: the weekend in the playoffs, and I think we're going
- 14:29Speaker 2: out to some good dessert for a Thanksgiving feast.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Our regular Permian fan on the text line says, I'm
- 14:36Speaker 1: just wondering if North Crowley is comprised of actual humans
- 14:39Speaker 1: or AI generated monsters.
- 14:42Speaker 2: If you guys didn't know. To his point and condolences,
- 14:46Speaker 2: North Crowley handed Odessa Permian their worst playoff loss ever
- 14:51Speaker 2: last week. I want you to think about Odessa Permian
- 14:54Speaker 2: and how long they've been playing football. North Crowley put
- 14:58Speaker 2: a hurtin on Mojo last week. It's a big reason
- 15:00Speaker 2: why I think North Rowley has gotten an opportunity to
- 15:02Speaker 2: be playing in Arlington at.
- 15:03Speaker 3: The end of the year. Yeah, yeah, I know that
- 15:05Speaker 3: about it. Uh, I'm missed out on this.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Somebody asking where is the the Hardened Simmons u U
- 15:13Speaker 1: M HB game being played? I think it's I think
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's an abling because Harden Simmons is the number two
- 15:19Speaker 1: overall national seed.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I believe that's correct. That should it should be an aboling. Yeah,
- 15:25Speaker 2: that's that that should be where it where it is,
- 15:28Speaker 2: all right? And then I'm letta say that confident on
- 15:30Speaker 2: the radio.
- 15:30Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And then somebody asked if you still hate our gyle?
- 15:34Speaker 1: Really actually got.
- 15:37Speaker 2: That never dies? No, of course I love Todd Rodgers.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I love what that part of that. And I'll tell
- 15:42Speaker 2: you that's another team kind of flying under the radar
- 15:43Speaker 2: there playing exceptionally well. Uh. They got in a real
- 15:48Speaker 2: dog fight with which Tall Falls Memorial last week. I
- 15:51Speaker 2: do think that Region one of five A, Division two
- 15:56Speaker 2: is more even more treacherous than we saw they were
- 16:00Speaker 2: it was going to be, because you think about it this.
- 16:03Speaker 2: We've got a rematch of Lovejoy and Anna this week.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Remember that game the last time we saw it in
- 16:09Speaker 2: regular season playing district play that came in in sixty
- 16:12Speaker 2: six sixty two. I think we're going to have that.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And then you've got Argyle taking on a pesky, peski
- 16:19Speaker 2: Walnut Grove team, first year varsity program that's just coming
- 16:22Speaker 2: off of their biggest win in program history when they
- 16:25Speaker 2: knocked off a lot of Cooper. So I think we
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't know our guys playing really well right now,
- 16:31Speaker 2: but they're gonna have to strap it up the rest
- 16:32Speaker 2: of the way because this is a this is a
- 16:34Speaker 2: dangerous path on the way to Arlington.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I agree with you, and I've said that. You asked me,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and I told you I thought that the two most
- 16:41Speaker 1: interesting or fascinating classifications going into the playoffs for five
- 16:45Speaker 1: A D two and three A D one, and I
- 16:48Speaker 1: still stand by that.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And by the way, five A D two it's getting
- 16:51Speaker 2: the judgment week here. We get Texas high and P
- 16:54Speaker 2: ANDNG this week that is going to be absolutely fascinating.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Richmond Randall takes on Brent this week that is really
- 17:01Speaker 2: tasty as well. Five day Division two is starting to
- 17:03Speaker 2: come to a head, and same with three eighty one
- 17:06Speaker 2: where we get our first real big state ranked tussle
- 17:09Speaker 2: with the Columbus or rather with Franklin taking on Hitchcock.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, looking forward, to all of that. You're in Saint
- 17:14Speaker 3: Louis with family.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I am, I'm in Saint Louis. I'm calling you from
- 17:18Speaker 2: the study room, from a study room at one of
- 17:21Speaker 2: the Saint Louis County Public libraries, because the boys are
- 17:24Speaker 2: off playing with mom and grandma.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Oh that's very now. Listen, you have made no bones
- 17:30Speaker 1: of it, no secret of it. This holiday forty eight
- 17:33Speaker 1: hours out. That's your favorite holiday the entire year, isn't
- 17:36Speaker 1: it Thanksgiving?
- 17:37Speaker 3: Oh?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, Thanksgivings. Thanksgiving is the best day of
- 17:40Speaker 2: the year. That's what you think about it. It's football,
- 17:44Speaker 2: it's food. You don't have to bring gifts, like, there's
- 17:48Speaker 2: no like monetary expectation of you. Everything about it, Like
- 17:52Speaker 2: I want you to think about another holiday, another day
- 17:55Speaker 2: in which a nap is a key component of it.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I mean, that's where we're at with it. Giving is
- 18:00Speaker 2: by far the best day of the week, and then,
- 18:02Speaker 2: by the way, it leads into I think, the best
- 18:03Speaker 2: football weekend of the year. So it's just this is
- 18:07Speaker 2: the best. We've been counting down ever since, ever since
- 18:10Speaker 2: last Thanksgiving, and is finally is finally here. I'm excited.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll look forward to it.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Hey, have a great have a great Thanksgiving feast, have
- 18:19Speaker 1: a great call Saturday.
- 18:20Speaker 3: We visit next week.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. Happy holidays man YouTube.
- 18:24Speaker 1: All right, that's Greg Tapper, managing at our Dave Campbell's
- 18:26Speaker 1: Texas Football magazine. He and Ashley Pickle will call that
- 18:28Speaker 1: De Soto Willis game on Saturday night.
- 18:32Speaker 3: FanDuel Sports Network is gonna be. That should be an
- 18:34Speaker 3: awful lot of fun.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And then we'll see about the quarterfinals what we have
- 18:38Speaker 1: in front of us. There could be some just absolutely
- 18:41Speaker 1: atomic matchups that I'm looking forward to. All Right, more
- 18:45Speaker 1: coming up here, we're gonna hear it talk a little
- 18:46Speaker 1: basketball next on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the zone
- 18:48Speaker 1: of the iHeartRadio app.
