- Lucas: Hei hei, and welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready for another tiny step in Norwegian? Lucas: Absolutely. Today we have a very useful verb: å gjøre. That means 'to do'. Luna: Å gjøre. Okay, I've seen that before. Like 'gjøre lekser' — to do homework? Lucas: Exactly. Let's start with the present tense: Jeg gjør — I do. Listen: Jeg gjør. Luna: Jeg gjør. Lucas: Good. Now a common question: Hva gjør du? — What are you doing? Hva gjør du? Luna: Hva gjør du? One more time? Lucas: Hva gjør du? Luna: Hva gjør du? So if someone asks me that, I can answer... Jeg gjør lekser — I'm doing homework. Lucas: Perfect. Jeg gjør lekser. Say it. Luna: Jeg gjør lekser. Lucas: Great. Another one: Hun gjør ingenting — She's doing nothing. Ingenting means nothing. Luna: Hun gjør ingenting. That's easy to remember. Lucas: Yep. Let's put them together. Imagine you call a friend and ask: Hva gjør du? Luna: And they say: Jeg gjør lekser. Or maybe: Jeg gjør ingenting. Lucas: Right.
