- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Dutch with Fexingo. Episode two twenty-two. Can you believe it? Luna: I know, right? And I actually remember some Dutch from last time. That cream at the pharmacy? Ik heb een crème nodig. Lucas: Excellent! You're already putting it to use. Today, let's step outside and enjoy some sunshine. Perfect timing, because I looked out the window and guess what? Luna: What? Lucas: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. That means it is sunny, right? Lucas: Exactly. Listen again. Het is zonnig. Your turn. Luna: Het is zonnig. Het is zonnig. Lucas: Perfect. Now, when the sun is out, I just love it. How do you say 'I love the sun' in Dutch? Ik hou van de zon. Luna: Ik hou van de zon. That's a long one. Ik hou van de zon. Lucas: You got it. Let's try a little scene. Imagine we're at the park, and the sun is shining. You say to me: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig, Lucas. Lucas: And I reply: Ik hou van de zon. And then maybe I add: Het is warm. Luna: Het is warm. That's 'it is warm'. Het is warm. Lucas: Yeah. So now we have three nice phrases. Het is zonnig, Het is warm, and Ik hou van de zon. Let's put them together. You say: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. Lucas: And I say: Ik hou van de zon. En het is warm. Luna: En het is warm. So 'and it is warm'. Nice. Lucas: Now, if the weather is this nice, what do we want to do? I think we should go to the park. In Dutch: Laten we naar het park gaan. Luna: Laten we naar het park gaan. That's a long one. Laten we naar het park gaan. Let's go to the park. Lucas: Perfect. So today we have four phrases: Het is zonnig, Ik hou van de zon, Het is warm, and Laten we naar het park gaan. Before we keep practicing, I want to say something. Luna: Sure. Lucas: If today is actually useful to you, the way these episodes stay ad-free is thanks to listener support. You can show your appreciation at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, that really helps keep this going. And it's a nice way to say thanks. Lucas: Exactly. No pressure. Now, back to our sunny day. Imagine we're actually at the park. The sun is shining, and you say: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. Lucas: I agree: Ja, het is warm. And then I suggest: Laten we naar het park gaan. Luna: Oh, but we're already at the park. Maybe I should say: Laten we daar gaan zitten. Lucas: Ooh, almost. 'Laten we daar gaan zitten' is a great phrase, but let's stick with our four today. You can try: Laten we naar het park gaan. Luna: Laten we naar het park gaan. Even if we're already here, it works for planning. Lucas: Right. Now let's review. First: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. Lucas: Second: Ik hou van de zon. Luna: Ik hou van de zon. Lucas: Third: Het is warm. Luna: Het is warm. Lucas: And last: Laten we naar het park gaan. Luna: Laten we naar het park gaan. Lucas: Beautiful. You know, these phrases are going to be so useful. Think about a sunny morning. You look outside and say: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. And then I think: Ik hou van de zon. Lucas: And you check the temperature: Het is warm. Luna: Het is warm. So I tell my friend: Laten we naar het park gaan. Lucas: That's a whole conversation. Let's do one more round, a bit faster. Repeat after me: Het is zonnig. Luna: Het is zonnig. Lucas: Ik hou van de zon. Luna: Ik hou van de zon. Lucas: Het is warm. Luna: Het is warm. Lucas: Laten we naar het park gaan. Luna: Laten we naar het park gaan. Lucas: There you go. Now you're ready for a sunny day in Dutch. Remember, practice these until we talk again. See you next time. Luna: Tot ziens, everyone!
