- Adam Rutz: At some point, you have to stop waiting for the perfect time and decide that today is the day you're going to execute. There's probably something in your life right now that you already know you need to do. You don't need more information. You don't need to wait until next Monday. You don't need to wait until January 1st. You need to start. Maybe today is the day you finally decide you're going to lose the weight. Change your body and become the healthiest version of yourself. Maybe today's the day you decide to get sober and get the support you need to change your life. Maybe you're a business owner who knows they've been playing too small and it's time to build the sales team you've been talking about building. Or maybe you're a baseball player preparing for next season and you know that the current level of your preparation isn't good enough for where you want to go. Whatever it is, raise the standard. Because you cannot expect your life to change while continuing to operate at the same exact level. Eventually, you got to do something uncomfortable. Make the phone call, start the workout, have the difficult conversation, change your environment, wake up earlier, put the phone away, ask for help, take the first step, whatever it is, do it and then do it again tomorrow. And that's where execution becomes powerful. Execution turns intention into evidence. Every time you do the difficult thing you said you were going to do, you're building evidence that you're becoming a different person. And here's the question I want you to ask yourself today. Where have I set the bar too low for myself? Not compared to somebody else, compared to what you know you're capable of. Because there's another level available to you. It's why you're listening to this podcast right now. You know you're capable of more. But the price of that next level is usually discomfort. So stop negotiating with the thing you already know needs to happen. Set the bar higher. Do something uncomfortable and get after it today. Mindset, process, discipline, execution. That's mental performance daily.
