- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 0:03Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Kyle Manzardo leads off the second inning, swings and misses
- 0:15Speaker 2: at an off-speed pitch from the opener still out there.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Left-hander Chris Murphy with Eric Fetty warming behind him in
- 0:22Speaker 2: the pen. We'll see how the Sox play it with
- 0:25Speaker 2: a right-handed hitter, Reese Hoskins, waiting on deck. Here's the 0-1.
- 0:30Speaker 2: That's swung on and missed for strike two. But then
- 0:33Speaker 2: you have a left-handed batter in Khalil Watson after that,
- 0:37Speaker 2: so maybe they try and get two innings out of Murphy.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Just make him a starter, then, if he's going to
- 0:42Speaker 3: keep going. This bugs you, doesn't it? It does a
- 0:46Speaker 3: little bit. You're starting to pick up on that. He's
- 0:49Speaker 3: five innings into the game, and he's opening up for Fetty.
- 0:54Speaker 3: If this doesn't go extra innings, Fetty's not going to pitch.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Here's the 0-2. down low one and two and for
- 1:02Speaker 2: whatever reason when Fetty has started this year he has
- 1:05Speaker 2: struggled in the early innings so they may have found
- 1:08Speaker 2: the sweet spot with him coming on after an opener
- 1:11Speaker 2: not so much strategy wise but effectiveness wise for him
- 1:17Speaker 2: as the one two is lifted high in the air
- 1:20Speaker 2: center field Peters is under it and he makes the
- 1:23Speaker 2: catch Some sunshine breaking through the clouds.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Here he comes.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Peters battling a little bit with that. And here comes
- 1:33Speaker 2: Will Venable. So that is it for the opener, Chris Murphy.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Short leash on the starter. Eric Fetty will come on
- 1:42Speaker 2: to pitch. We have a pitching change. And our pitching changes,

- 3:29Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 3:31Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Right-hander Eric Fetty has come on to pitch for the
- 3:40Speaker 2: White Sox with one out, and the base is empty
- 3:43Speaker 2: facing Reese Hoskins here in the second inning. And Hoskins
- 3:47Speaker 2: looks at a pitch up high for ball one. So
- 3:50Speaker 2: the opener, Chris Murphy retired all four batters he faced.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Now Fetty takes over and He's a starter, so he'll
- 3:58Speaker 2: go as long as he can. Next pitch, outside for
- 4:01Speaker 2: a ball. He's a coward.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Can't pitch the first inning. Good job for the Guardians,
- 4:08Speaker 3: knocking out the starter and getting to the bullpen. Let's
- 4:09Speaker 3: see if he scores some runs.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Here's the 2-0. And that's up high, 3-0. Betty, 2-6
- 4:18Speaker 2: on the year with an earned run average of 4.46.
- 4:20Speaker 2: This is game number 16, seven times they've used an
- 4:26Speaker 2: opener ahead of him. coming into play today, and his
- 4:29Speaker 2: next pitch is low and in for a ball. And
- 4:33Speaker 2: I will say, in a lot of cases when they
- 4:36Speaker 2: do this with an opener, they'll let the normal starter
- 4:40Speaker 2: begin with a clean inning and not come in mid-inning.
- 4:44Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. It kind of contradicts itself to
- 4:46Speaker 3: keep him, to bring that guy back out to face Manzardo,
- 4:50Speaker 3: just because he's a lefty the next inning. That's why
- 4:53Speaker 3: he's no longer just an opener.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Khalil Watson steps in, takes a strike on the outside corner.
- 5:01Speaker 2: What a night last night for Watson. First Major League
- 5:04Speaker 2: home run, two hits, and almost, almost tied the game
- 5:09Speaker 2: with a long drive to left late, but it was caught.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Here's the pitch, and it's down low. Good power to
- 5:16Speaker 2: the opposite field in his last at-bat. Left-handed batter with
- 5:21Speaker 2: real good pop. It's starting to settle in at the
- 5:25Speaker 2: Major League level. A weekend to his major league career.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I wonder if that, I mean that does have to
- 5:34Speaker 3: be a little tough on the pitcher to have two
- 5:36Speaker 3: different routines from as a starter and with an opener.
- 5:38Speaker 2: 1-1, misses outside. 2-1 the count.
- 5:49Speaker 3: There's no way you're throwing the same amount of pitches
- 5:51Speaker 3: as you are to start a game than you are
- 5:54Speaker 3: when an opener goes because you don't know how long
- 5:55Speaker 3: that inning is going to be.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The 2-1. Swung on. Pulled foul. It is interesting. The
- 6:01Speaker 2: Sox have used it quite a bit, not only with Fetty,
- 6:04Speaker 2: but with some others. And I just feel that it
- 6:07Speaker 2: obviously gives them the best chance to win. That's why
- 6:09Speaker 2: they're doing it. And they've had some pretty good success
- 6:13Speaker 2: with it.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I mean, listen, that's the main goal of any decision
- 6:17Speaker 3: book you make. To win games. The 2-2 is upstairs
- 6:21Speaker 3: for a ball. At least it should be.
- 6:26Speaker 2: This one is scoreless. Top of the second. Cloud cover
- 6:31Speaker 2: again here on the south side, and there is a
- 6:33Speaker 2: chance of showers later, so kind of a race to
- 6:36Speaker 2: get this one in. We're in the window.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Reverbial window.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Do you hear that anywhere else but at the ballpark?
- 6:44Speaker 3: No.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Hey, we got a window.
- 6:45Speaker 3: The hair on my neck just stood up hearing that.
- 6:49Speaker 3: The 3-2.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Outside, ball four. So Fetty has come on and walked
- 6:55Speaker 2: the first two batters he's faced, and the Guardians have
- 6:58Speaker 2: something brewing here with one out in the second.
- 7:02Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. If he still struggles with his
- 7:04Speaker 3: first inning, now you're just going to struggle with your
- 7:06Speaker 3: first inning in the second inning.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Daniel Schneeman will bat. Left-handed hitter.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Pitching an opener feels more like a Band-Aid to the
- 7:17Speaker 3: problem instead of fixing the actual problem.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Fetty trying to work through it here in the second.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Here's his pitch. And it's swung on and tapped foul
- 7:28Speaker 2: at home plate. Fetty, veteran pitcher, signed as a free
- 7:32Speaker 2: agent this offseason. Second go-round with the White Sox. He's
- 7:37Speaker 2: now 33 years of age. From Las Vegas, played at
- 7:41Speaker 2: the same high school, was a teammate of Bryce Harper.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Here's the 0-1. Down low, 1-1. There's a high school team, huh?
- 7:50Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He pitched here in Chicago in 2024 after a stint
- 8:00Speaker 2: in Korea. Came over here and pitched really well for
- 8:03Speaker 2: the White Sox. The 1-1. Called strike on the outside corner.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And it's now 1-2 on Schneeman. Actually looked like he
- 8:13Speaker 2: went too far on an attempted check swing. Hoskins at second.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Watson at first. No score. Fetty from the stretch. The
- 8:26Speaker 2: 1-2 pitch. Swung on. Popped him up. Foul. Third base side.
- 8:31Speaker 2: A look by Vargas, but he's out of room. That
- 8:33Speaker 2: one's a couple of rows back. Don't forget, now through
- 8:37Speaker 2: August the 6th, visit guardiansf150sweeps. com to enter for your chance
- 8:43Speaker 2: to win a special Guardians Edition 2026 F-150 Raptor truck,
- 8:49Speaker 2: courtesy of your Northeast Ohio Ford dealers. One and two,
- 8:57Speaker 2: the count on Schneeman. Here's the pitch. He swings, loops
- 9:01Speaker 2: it foul again to that third base side, and again
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's out of play. Schneeman batting 213 with six home runs,
- 9:10Speaker 2: 26 driven in. Two of those six home runs, grand
- 9:14Speaker 2: slams for Schneeman this year.
- 9:17Speaker 3: No, it's a little too late with two strikes right
- 9:19Speaker 3: now probably, but is there... How often do the Guardians
- 9:23Speaker 3: kind of maybe put runners in motion, hit and runs?
- 9:25Speaker 3: Do they try too much when the offense is struggling?
- 9:28Speaker 2: The 1-2 is swung on, bounced to the second baseman,
- 9:30Speaker 2: my drop, to the back for one. Montgomery to first
- 9:34Speaker 2: double play.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Said it too late.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Side retired. Guardians threatened but do not score. We head
- 9:40Speaker 2: to the bottom half of the second inning. Guardians nothing,
- 9:44Speaker 2: White Sox nothing.
- 9:46Speaker 11: Recently, our company softball team lost the big game by
- 9:49Speaker 11: one run. Then Dale tried to console us with the quote,
- 9:52Speaker 11: winning isn't everything.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Dale's a loser. I play to win, like early payout
- 9:57Speaker 5: from Bet365.
- 9:58Speaker 11: If my team goes up big, I get paid out instantly,
- 10:01Speaker 11: even if they blow the lead later.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Sound familiar, Dale?
- 10:06Speaker 1: Bet365.

- 11:31Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 11:33Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Kyle Teal leads things off for Chicago. Left-handed hitting catcher
- 11:44Speaker 2: just activated from the injured list. Playing games for the
- 11:48Speaker 2: first time this season at the major league level, and boy,
- 11:51Speaker 2: they loved his season a year ago, so they are
- 11:54Speaker 2: glad to have him back in the fold right into
- 11:57Speaker 2: that cleanup spot. Tanner Vibing lets it go, and his
- 12:01Speaker 2: pitch is on the inside corner for a strike. No,
- 12:03Speaker 2: he can hit a little bit.
- 12:04Speaker 3: He had a real good year last year.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Was hurt in the WBC. Pulled a hamstring playing for
- 12:11Speaker 2: Team Italy.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Those espressos. Yeah. They got him.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Here's the 0-1. Outside and low. Is that what the
- 12:22Speaker 2: espresso is? cause a hamstring issue, do you think?
- 12:25Speaker 3: I don't know. I know they would take him after
- 12:28Speaker 3: the home runs.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Here's the 1-1 pitch. And it's a breaking ball down low.
- 12:37Speaker 2: And it hit him. Caught him on the foot or
- 12:40Speaker 2: the leg going by.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Bailey says he doesn't think so. He's waiting for the
- 12:46Speaker 3: Cleveland to challenge maybe.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Steven Vogt looking over Toward the phone to see if
- 12:52Speaker 2: Gunnar Wilhelmi says challenge. No, they do not.
- 12:56Speaker 3: So it hit Batsman. Probably just hit, let's see here.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Probably just hit either a piece of his jersey or
- 13:00Speaker 3: something where it didn't really make a sound.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Did that hit him? You're not sold, huh?
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm watching it. I can't even see it on the slow-mo.
- 13:13Speaker 3: So interesting that Cleveland gave up on that real fast.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Lead off base runner for Colson Montgomery. The pitch. And
- 13:21Speaker 2: it's on the outside corner for a strike. Montgomery, big power,
- 13:27Speaker 2: big kit for a shortstop. 20 home runs, 46 runs
- 13:31Speaker 2: batted in. Former first-round draft pick for the White Sox.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Here's the 0-1. Swung on and a blast one. High
- 13:41Speaker 2: and deep to right. If it stays fair, maybe, but no.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Caught at the wall. In fair territory by Watson.
- 13:49Speaker 3: That ball took forever to get down. I thought Watson
- 13:52Speaker 3: played it well, too. He almost kind of, he knew
- 13:55Speaker 3: it was coming into him. He knew it wasn't going out.
- 13:56Speaker 3: He was camped under it. He kind of slow played
- 13:58Speaker 3: the catch to see if he could get the runner
- 14:00Speaker 3: to tag a little bit off and maybe leave early,
- 14:03Speaker 3: but got the throw in real fast. Wasn't able to
- 14:05Speaker 3: tag up, so good play by Watson, too.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So one down in the inning. A little bit of
- 14:12Speaker 2: a deep. It is 335 down the line. That ball
- 14:15Speaker 2: went 334 as he was right up against the wall
- 14:17Speaker 2: to make the catch.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Morning track power, we call that. With 20 home runs.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Chase, my draw off the batter. Here's the pitch. And
- 14:30Speaker 2: it's inside for ball one. Mr. Montgomery's on the phone.
- 14:34Speaker 2: He asked if you'd step outside. Discuss warning track power.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Please tell him I'm busy. My draw. Another solid young
- 14:44Speaker 2: player for the White Sox. They have a slew of them.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Here's the 1-0. And it's on the outside corner for
- 14:50Speaker 2: a strike. This team broke the major league record for
- 14:54Speaker 2: losses in a season just two years ago.
- 14:57Speaker 8: 121 losses.
- 15:01Speaker 2: But they have turned it around quickly. Here comes the
- 15:07Speaker 2: 1-1 from Tanner Bybee. Fastball strike on the outside corner, 1-2.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Real good sequence from Bybee right there with the slider
- 15:18Speaker 3: kind of in, starting at the hitter to freeze him
- 15:20Speaker 3: on the inside, and then that 2-seam away probably looks
- 15:23Speaker 3: just like a mile away to the right-handed hitter, and
- 15:25Speaker 3: it comes back to the play. There's never a time
- 15:27Speaker 3: to swing at it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Here's the 1-2 pitch. Low and outside. Went with a
- 15:34Speaker 2: slider that time, and it's 2-2 on my draw in
- 15:38Speaker 2: this scoreless game, bottom of the second inning.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I do love how they've added so many different names
- 15:46Speaker 3: to the pitches up there now.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Sweeper, Slurve.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Slider, cutter, curve, knuckle curve, everything comes up now.
- 15:55Speaker 2: The 2-2 is looped down the right side. Fair ball.
- 15:59Speaker 2: On his way to third, motoring there is Teal. Holding
- 16:02Speaker 2: at first base is Mydra as Watson was able to
- 16:07Speaker 2: get to it quickly. And it's first and third now
- 16:12Speaker 2: for the White Sox with one out.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Well, kind of the same pitch they threw that started
- 16:17Speaker 3: outside and came all the way back to the outside
- 16:19Speaker 3: of the plate for a strike. This one caught too
- 16:21Speaker 3: much of the plate and a good piece of hitting
- 16:23Speaker 3: kind of by Maidra to kind of get jammed and
- 16:25Speaker 3: just fling it down the right field line, stay through it.
- 16:28Speaker 3: He had seen it before, so now he's kind of
- 16:29Speaker 3: diving in on it. And then good play by Watson,
- 16:32Speaker 3: kind of keeping him at first base to keep that
- 16:33Speaker 3: double play in order right now.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Now Braden Montgomery, the right fielder. Here's the pitch from Bybee.
- 16:43Speaker 2: And it's on the outside corner for a strike. Talked
- 16:47Speaker 2: about it a lot. Garrett Crochet was traded to Boston
- 16:53Speaker 2: in the offseason prior to last year. And the haul
- 16:56Speaker 2: that the White Sox got back, absolutely tremendous.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I'm sure they miss him, but they're not trading back.
- 17:03Speaker 2: The 0-1 on the outside corner for a strike. It
- 17:07Speaker 2: included the batter right now, Montgomery. Bidroth at first base
- 17:12Speaker 2: and Teal at third base. It's remarkable.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Three starters.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And they feel three starters that can be a real
- 17:19Speaker 2: cornerstone for this ball club. And we mentioned 121 losses
- 17:26Speaker 2: two years ago. 41 wins. They're at 41 wins today
- 17:31Speaker 2: in June. That's a mentally tough season.
- 17:35Speaker 6: 121 losses.
- 17:39Speaker 3: That's not even getting lucky. Now the 0-2 from Bybee.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Up high for a ball. You know, I mean, that's
- 17:47Speaker 3: not even like just a couple stuff going your way
- 17:49Speaker 3: one night or anything like that. Oof.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Well, they tried to make the best of it, made
- 17:58Speaker 2: some moves that are paying off now, which is hard
- 18:01Speaker 2: to do at the time. Here's the 1-2. low and
- 18:08Speaker 2: in for a ball. 2-2. And we had Will Venable
- 18:12Speaker 2: on the warm-up show tonight or today. And that was
- 18:17Speaker 2: a move that has really worked out well. They brought
- 18:19Speaker 2: him in to start last season and he has done
- 18:22Speaker 2: great work managing this ball club. And they've made some
- 18:25Speaker 2: great additions player-wise too.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Taking over for Grady.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Now the 2-2. Swung on. Popped up foul. Out of play.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Third base side.
- 18:37Speaker 15: Right?
- 18:37Speaker 3: Wasn't Grady Sizemore the interim for a little bit?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Did a nice job here. They were happy. I think
- 18:43Speaker 2: he was surprised how much he enjoyed managing. Now he's
- 18:47Speaker 2: on the coaching staff for the Minnesota Twins. Doing some
- 18:52Speaker 2: good work there too. Here's the 2-2 from Tanner Bybee.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Just missed outside for ball three.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Grady's the reason more or less I moved to second base.
- 19:08Speaker 3: So I came up, I was drafted as an outfielder,
- 19:13Speaker 3: and a healthy grade of Sizemore was going nowhere at
- 19:15Speaker 3: the time.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Payoff pitch from Tanner Bybee.
- 19:21Speaker 8: Here it is.
- 19:21Speaker 2: There goes the runner at first. The pitch is a strike.
- 19:24Speaker 16: The throw down is safe at second base. It looked
- 19:29Speaker 16: like a great slide by Mydroth to elude the tag
- 19:33Speaker 16: at second.
- 19:34Speaker 2: The runner at third state. My fault, my fault.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I thought Rokio would be a little bit more animated
- 19:38Speaker 3: for that challenge if he got him there.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Okay, it looks like we still are going to challenge.
- 19:44Speaker 2: So the Guardians will challenge. They feel that Roquio did
- 19:47Speaker 2: apply the tag, and we'll see.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Cleveland is challenging the safe call at second base.
- 19:56Speaker 2: That's Marv Hudson, who I think he's out. He's out.
- 20:00Speaker 2: The other night, Marv, by the end of the game,
- 20:02Speaker 2: that wild game on Monday night, he got on there
- 20:08Speaker 2: and said, On the last play of the game, Cleveland's
- 20:11Speaker 2: challenging everything.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's challenging all of it.
- 20:13Speaker 2: They had the option of a plate block.
- 20:17Speaker 3: This is a real big strike them out, throw them out,
- 20:21Speaker 3: I think they're going to get for us.
- 20:24Speaker 2: The strikeout completed.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I never know with New York. There's some plays I
- 20:30Speaker 3: would have put my entire contract on. This one's an
- 20:34Speaker 3: easy one.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 20:35Speaker 3: And it was overturned or never went my way, and
- 20:37Speaker 3: I was just like, ouch. What are they seeing that
- 20:39Speaker 3: I'm not? Look at all the angles they have. They're
- 20:42Speaker 3: showing a picture of New York up here at the
- 20:44Speaker 3: stadium with all these different angles.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Well, it certainly won't overshadow the good throw by Bailey.
- 20:54Speaker 2: He's really been throwing well since being acquired from the Giants.
- 20:58Speaker 3: He was always considered one of the better defensive catchers
- 21:00Speaker 3: in the game. I wonder how much the ABS system, though,
- 21:04Speaker 3: has taken away the art of framing. to where people
- 21:07Speaker 3: can just challenge. Like, there is an art where you
- 21:09Speaker 3: can steal strikes.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Well, they say where it comes into play now, hitters,
- 21:15Speaker 2: if they know the reputation that Patrick Bailey has, they
- 21:17Speaker 2: might be less likely to challenge.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Interesting. But also, if he's that good of a framer,
- 21:26Speaker 3: that good of a strike stealer, wouldn't you be more
- 21:28Speaker 3: likely to challenge then?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 21:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 21:34Speaker 3: After review, the call on the field is overturned.
- 21:36Speaker 1: The runner's out.
- 21:37Speaker 16: Boone.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Quiggle will retain their challenge. We're ready.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Did you get him earlier?
- 21:44Speaker 2: So, the side is retired on the strike him out,
- 21:46Speaker 2: throw him out, double play. We remain scoreless after two
- 21:50Speaker 2: in Chicago.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 21:55Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN. Third inning.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Patrick Bailey leads things off for the Guardians. Scoreless game.
- 22:08Speaker 2: He's facing right-hander Eric Fetty. Here's the pitch. And Bailey swings,
- 22:13Speaker 2: taps it to third. Backhand stop by Vargas. And he
- 22:17Speaker 2: throws across the diamond in time for the out. One pitch,
- 22:20Speaker 2: one down. Jim Rosenhaus along with Jason Kipnis joining us
- 22:25Speaker 2: here in Chicago with Hammy. Off for the remainder of
- 22:29Speaker 2: the road trip, which ends here today. And Tom will
- 22:31Speaker 2: be back on Friday when the Guardians play. Open a
- 22:34Speaker 2: new homestand against the Mariners Friday night. With a 7-10 start.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Number nine hitter Stephen Kwan steps in. No score in
- 22:43Speaker 2: this one. Here's the pitch. And it's in there for
- 22:46Speaker 2: a strike. And this is the Hyundai Grand Slam giveaway inning.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Karen Rusko of Parma is our contestant today. Here's the 0-1.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Down low. 1-1. If the Guardians hit a Grand Slam
- 23:02Speaker 2: here in the third. Karen Rusco of Parma wins a
- 23:05Speaker 2: Hyundai Kona, courtesy of your Northern Ohio Hyundai dealers. The 1-1.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Swung on, line, left side, based it in the left field.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Kwan's aboard with a leadoff single.
- 23:18Speaker 3: That was a vintage Kwan swing right there. Hitting it
- 23:21Speaker 3: where it's pitched, not doing too much with it, staying balanced.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Bad path looked a lot better that way. You can
- 23:27Speaker 3: tell it's gotten a little longer times, a little bit
- 23:29Speaker 3: more dip in the barrel than I'm accustomed to seeing.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Normally he's so direct to the ball and so fun
- 23:35Speaker 3: to watch. But that swing looked like it there.
- 23:38Speaker 2: So top of the lineup now and Travis Bissano will
- 23:40Speaker 2: step in. He struck out to open the game today.
- 23:44Speaker 2: What a road trip it's been for him though as
- 23:46Speaker 2: he swings and misses for strike one. The big rip. Hitting.
- 23:50Speaker 2: 357 on the trip with three home runs and seven
- 23:53Speaker 2: runs driven in. A lot of that on Saturday night
- 23:57Speaker 2: in Houston. Two of the home runs, five of the
- 24:00Speaker 2: RBIs in a career night. A four-hit night for him
- 24:04Speaker 2: in Houston. Throw to first. Diving back in is Kwon.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I'm going to say career night for Bazana. All 49
- 24:16Speaker 2: games worth.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Statement still holds true.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But a really good rookie season going for Bazana. Here's
- 24:25Speaker 2: the 0-1. Swung on, and there's a tapper slowly hit
- 24:28Speaker 2: to the second baseman by drop to the back for one,
- 24:31Speaker 2: but Bazana's flying down the line, and Montgomery, the shortstop,
- 24:34Speaker 2: doesn't even throw to first. Two down in the inning,
- 24:37Speaker 2: Bazana at first now.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Hit too little softly to kind of turn it on
- 24:41Speaker 3: double play, though, but hit right at the guy, nothing
- 24:42Speaker 3: you can really do. He seems just a little out
- 24:46Speaker 3: in front right now today, but Travis, that he has
- 24:48Speaker 3: these first two games of this series. He kind of
- 24:52Speaker 3: looks giddy. He kind of wants to do damage on
- 24:54Speaker 3: the ball, but sometimes you have to make sure that
- 24:56Speaker 3: you're letting the ball travel, even more so than.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Now Brian Rocchio steps in. He struck out his first
- 25:03Speaker 2: time up, and he swings and misses for strike one.
- 25:06Speaker 3: They're coming out swinging right now. There's a lot of
- 25:08Speaker 3: first pitch swings of some of the bats so far,
- 25:09Speaker 3: so you can tell that that's what they've talked about
- 25:11Speaker 3: a little bit. Team approach. They're not waiting around for
- 25:13Speaker 3: two strikes. They're probably talking like, hey, we're We're giving
- 25:18Speaker 3: up too many early strikes in the count where we're
- 25:20Speaker 3: not doing damage. We're just letting them get ahead of us.
- 25:22Speaker 3: So let's be ready to swing for the first pitch on.
- 25:26Speaker 2: It's 0-1 on Rokio with Pazana at first. No score.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Long set. Now the pitch. Swung on. Foul back into
- 25:37Speaker 2: the screen. And it's 0-2 on Rokio. A switch hitter.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Had it from the right side. First time up against Murphy.
- 25:47Speaker 2: The opener. And now Fetty, a right-hander. He came on
- 25:53Speaker 2: last inning. Two outs. Fetty from the stretch. Here's his pitch.
- 26:03Speaker 2: And it's swung on. Loop toward the third baseman. Making
- 26:06Speaker 2: the catch. Have a little humpback liner as Vargas' side retired.
- 26:11Speaker 2: As Rocchio's retired. And we'll head to the bottom of
- 26:13Speaker 2: the third inning. No score from Chicago. Swung on line
- 26:17Speaker 2: toward the gap and left center. Kwon dives and made
- 26:20Speaker 2: that catch!
- 26:22Speaker 3: What a play by Kwon!
- 26:24Speaker 2: Stephen Kwon just keeps on delivering. This is Stephen Kwon.

- 28:05Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Tristan Peters will lead things off for Chicago in a
- 28:17Speaker 2: scoreless game, bottom of the third inning, facing Tanner Bybee.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Here's the pitch, and it's up high for ball one. Peters,
- 28:24Speaker 2: left-handed hitting outfielder. Batting. 289 with three homers, 24 driven in.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Former Tampa Bay Ray picked up in the offseason. The
- 28:36Speaker 2: 1-0 down low, 2-0. That's the thing with the White Sox.
- 28:40Speaker 2: They have all these young players who are reaching the
- 28:42Speaker 2: major leagues and contributing, but they've made some nice moves
- 28:45Speaker 2: on the fringes, acquiring players, veteran players to plug in
- 28:50Speaker 2: who've had really good years.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I think you need that for a structure of a lineup.
- 28:56Speaker 2: The 2-0 is chopped to first. Nice easy hop for
- 28:59Speaker 2: the first baseman, Manzardo. Steps on the back for the out,
- 29:02Speaker 2: one away.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Just for the structure of a team, I think you
- 29:05Speaker 3: want that blend of rookies coming up who are bringing
- 29:07Speaker 3: that excitement, that energy, that everything's new to them for
- 29:10Speaker 3: the first time. You want those guys who have been
- 29:12Speaker 3: to it before to kind of steer them in the
- 29:13Speaker 3: right path and talk to them about everything. You want
- 29:16Speaker 3: those kind of journeymen who are excited to have any
- 29:19Speaker 3: opportunity at all. Everybody should be excited about any opportunity
- 29:23Speaker 3: they get in this league. So much fun to put
- 29:24Speaker 3: on in the uniform.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Here's Jacob Gonzalez, and he takes a pitch down low.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Now this is one of the young prospects, former first-round
- 29:32Speaker 2: pick not too long ago, 2023, 15th overall. Here comes
- 29:35Speaker 2: the 1-0 pitch. And it swung on and skied high
- 29:46Speaker 2: in the air to right. Going back initially, Watson, now
- 29:49Speaker 2: he has to charge in, and he makes the running catch.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Not that far from the infield. My goodness.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I think he thought that was just an infield fly
- 29:57Speaker 3: ball right off the bat. He almost kind of took
- 29:59Speaker 3: his few steps slow, walking a little bit. He didn't
- 30:02Speaker 3: realize that whether it was the wind or something was
- 30:03Speaker 3: going to blow that a little bit further out than
- 30:05Speaker 3: he thought. And he was almost playing back on the
- 30:07Speaker 3: warning track. He was playing real deep and right. So
- 30:10Speaker 3: he kind of then turned on those burners and came
- 30:12Speaker 3: in real hot for that one. Made it a little
- 30:15Speaker 3: bit harder than it needed to.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Two up, two down.
- 30:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Sam Antonacci steps in. Popped a short his first time.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Pitched to him. Outside for a ball. Hey, go back
- 30:26Speaker 2: to that. Just the joy of putting the uniform on
- 30:30Speaker 2: in the big leagues.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Every day. Every day. Again, my perspective hasn't changed too much.
- 30:36Speaker 3: I think maybe it's even grown in my love for
- 30:38Speaker 3: the game. But it was an honor to wear a
- 30:40Speaker 3: jersey every day. Guaido misses down. Listen, I never played
- 30:45Speaker 3: for money. I never played for a contract. I just
- 30:50Speaker 3: loved playing under the lights in front of big crowds.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I thought it was just the coolest thing in the world.
- 30:55Speaker 3: I think now it's like if you ask me right
- 30:57Speaker 3: after I retired.
- 30:59Speaker 2: The 2-0 pitch. Swung on. Popped it up. Foul. Third
- 31:02Speaker 2: base side. Maybe a play for Schneeman. Runs out of room.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I think if you asked me after I retired, my
- 31:07Speaker 3: answer would have been a little different, but I probably
- 31:10Speaker 3: would have been lying through my teeth where I said
- 31:11Speaker 3: I probably didn't like the game or didn't miss the
- 31:13Speaker 3: game and all those answers. But I think it's because
- 31:16Speaker 3: I wanted to keep playing so bad. I've seen guys
- 31:18Speaker 3: who were, I didn't think they were better than me
- 31:20Speaker 3: and they were still playing, so I was mad at
- 31:22Speaker 3: the game. But now that years have passed and I
- 31:24Speaker 3: know for a fact I can't be playing anymore, it's
- 31:26Speaker 3: easier for me to say and realize how much I
- 31:28Speaker 3: enjoy playing this game.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Here's the 2-1. Swing and a miss. 2-2 the count.
- 31:35Speaker 2: on Antonacci.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Because you don't get to play forever, and I think
- 31:38Speaker 3: that's what makes it beautiful. I think you can only
- 31:40Speaker 3: get a certain amount of time to play this game,
- 31:42Speaker 3: and you hope you do everything you can to stretch
- 31:44Speaker 3: it into as long as you can, but father time
- 31:47Speaker 3: starts calling for everybody at some point.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Now the 2-2. Swung on, looped foul, out of play,
- 31:55Speaker 2: third base side again.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I think that's why, I mean, you know this, or
- 31:58Speaker 3: a lot of maybe more Clevelanders would know this about me,
- 32:01Speaker 3: where it's like they've heard of If I would maybe
- 32:04Speaker 3: throw a helmet here or a bat here or there
- 32:06Speaker 3: or two, I just wanted to be good or wanted
- 32:08Speaker 3: to do well so bad that because I just wanted
- 32:11Speaker 3: to make sure that I kept playing for so long.
- 32:14Speaker 3: There are times I for sure gripped it too tight
- 32:16Speaker 3: and that might have been counterproductive, but yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 2: The 2-2, swung on, line drive up the middle, base
- 32:23Speaker 2: hit into center field. Antonacci reaches on a two-out single.
- 32:28Speaker 2: There was that room behind the The Guardian's dugout that..
- 32:33Speaker 3: You do know about the room. The remodeling?
- 32:38Speaker 2: The remodeling, I think they saved a portion, at least
- 32:41Speaker 2: a wall with some dents in it. As a memento.
- 32:48Speaker 3: There was one time I think I took a bat.
- 32:50Speaker 3: It wasn't my bat. This is something you should never do. Well,
- 32:52Speaker 3: you should never really throw a bat or anything like that,
- 32:54Speaker 3: but I just found the worst looking bat I could find.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Miguel Vargas, the batter. With Antonacci, a threat to run
- 33:02Speaker 2: at first. Here's the pitch.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Up and in. And I was one of those guys,
- 33:05Speaker 3: I'll be throwing a little tantrum down there or something
- 33:08Speaker 3: or slamming stuff or taking off a wood door with
- 33:11Speaker 3: my bat. You could tell me a joke and I
- 33:13Speaker 3: would laugh in the middle of it. So I literally
- 33:16Speaker 3: got it out of my system and right after my
- 33:18Speaker 3: last slam, I was ready to joke and be back
- 33:21Speaker 3: in the game and all that stuff. So I really
- 33:22Speaker 3: was kind of getting it out of my system. Not
- 33:23Speaker 3: that it's an excuse.
- 33:25Speaker 17: The 1-0.
- 33:27Speaker 2: In there for a strike.
- 33:28Speaker 3: But I couldn't find one of my bats.
- 33:29Speaker 2: And we have an ABS challenge from Vargas.
- 33:35Speaker 3: But I couldn't find one of my bats, so I
- 33:36Speaker 3: was like, okay, well there's some BP.
- 33:41Speaker 2: That was a ball.
- 33:44Speaker 3: And I just start going to town on this helmet rack.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And I was like, thank God there's this crappy bat
- 33:49Speaker 3: right there. And then later I'm down there looking at
- 33:52Speaker 3: the bat again on the computer or something like that.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Here's the pitch to Vargas. After a long hold by Bybee,
- 34:01Speaker 2: here it comes, up and in. Snap throw to first,
- 34:04Speaker 2: back safely, and to notch.
- 34:06Speaker 3: And we believe this is going to be the second
- 34:07Speaker 3: Ryan Rayburn name drop where we mentioned yesterday, but Ryan
- 34:10Speaker 3: Rayburn comes down to the inning later, almost grabs him
- 34:12Speaker 3: by my jersey, goes, hey man, if you're going to
- 34:15Speaker 3: take a bat and slam some stuff, I'm fine with that,
- 34:16Speaker 3: but take your own bat. Why'd you use my gamer bat?
- 34:19Speaker 3: And I'm already like, it's out of my system, and
- 34:21Speaker 3: I'm just like, that's your gamer bat, Ryan? I was like,
- 34:24Speaker 3: this is the big leagues. We can get you better
- 34:25Speaker 3: bats than that.
- 34:26Speaker 2: It's The 3-0 swung on, lined in the left, a
- 34:30Speaker 2: face hit. Moving up 90 feet, Antonacci, he'll hold at second.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Back-to-back singles now with two down, a couple of men
- 34:37Speaker 2: on for the White Sox in the third of a
- 34:40Speaker 2: scoreless game.
- 34:42Speaker 3: He didn't find it as funny. I mean, obviously, he's
- 34:44Speaker 3: got over it. We all have boxes of bats down there,
- 34:47Speaker 3: and we've got better ones, but moral of the story,
- 34:51Speaker 3: don't touch anybody else's stuff if you're throwing a little
- 34:55Speaker 3: kid tantrum down there.
- 34:56Speaker 2: That's rule number one.
- 34:57Speaker 3: That's definitely, yeah. Don't hurt yourself. Don't touch other people's stuff.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Respect the environment to a degree.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Andrew Benintendi, the batter. Pitch to him. Tried to check
- 35:09Speaker 2: his swing. Couldn't do it. Strike one.
- 35:11Speaker 3: And was it never punch with your throwing hand?
- 35:14Speaker 7: No.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Full Durham. Yep.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Owen won the count. Here's the pitch. Inside. Ball one.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I should know this, but did you ever play in
- 35:36Speaker 2: the Carolina League on your way up?
- 35:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Kinston.
- 35:40Speaker 2: In Durham? Kinston. They would have been in AAA at
- 35:41Speaker 2: that point.
- 35:42Speaker 3: They would have been in AAA, so they were the
- 35:43Speaker 3: AAA for Tampa Bay.
- 35:45Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Here comes the 1-1. Swung on. Cued slowly to third.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Up with it.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Schneeman.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Short way to second. In time for the out, Rokio covering,
- 35:59Speaker 2: side retired. Bybee works out of the jam. Three complete
- 36:03Speaker 2: in Chicago on a sunny late afternoon. No score. And
- 36:09Speaker 2: click shredding.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 36:13Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Guardians, White Sox, no score. Fourth inning now. David Fry
- 36:25Speaker 2: leads it off. First pitch swinging. Bounces one to short.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Up with it Montgomery. Throws him out at first. One pitch,
- 36:32Speaker 2: one down. And the Guardians continue to be aggressive against
- 36:36Speaker 2: Eric Fetty.
- 36:37Speaker 3: You can tell that. They definitely have talked about swinging
- 36:39Speaker 3: first pitches here. Still got to make it a strike.
- 36:45Speaker 3: But no one's getting beats. I do like that. Nobody's
- 36:47Speaker 3: really late. I like the fact that, I mean, it's
- 36:49Speaker 3: not having success too much yet, but I like the
- 36:51Speaker 3: fact that they're at least on time and if not early.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Kyle Manzardo, the batter, flying to center his first time up.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Here's the pitch. And it's on the inside corner for
- 37:02Speaker 2: a strike. He was the last batter to face the opener,
- 37:05Speaker 2: Chris Murphy. Murphy retired the four batters he faced. Then
- 37:10Speaker 2: Fetty comes on and they'll let him go as long
- 37:12Speaker 2: as he can. Here's the 0-1. Up and in. 1-1
- 37:16Speaker 2: the count on Manzardo. No runs, one hit for the Guardians.
- 37:24Speaker 2: No runs, three hits for Chicago. A 1-1 pitch on
- 37:32Speaker 2: the outside corner for a strike. Good changeup. Step up
- 37:36Speaker 2: to the plate at BP Live. It's Saturday, July the
- 37:40Speaker 2: 11th at Progressive Field. Your chance to take batting practice
- 37:44Speaker 2: on the field, shag fly balls, play catch in the outfield,
- 37:48Speaker 2: tour the visitor's clubhouse. Visit events.cleguardians.com to register. Pitch is
- 37:55Speaker 2: down low to Manzardo, and the count's now 2-2. Final
- 38:02Speaker 2: game of a nine-game road swing for the Guardians, three cities.
- 38:06Speaker 2: The 2-2 swung on, and that's looped to shallow center.
- 38:10Speaker 2: That'll get down for a base hit. Manzardo aboard with
- 38:14Speaker 2: a one-out single.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Good job staying through a changeup right there. I think
- 38:19Speaker 3: he had thrown it a couple times in that at-bat already,
- 38:21Speaker 3: and that one caught the most of the plate that
- 38:23Speaker 3: he could do something with, at least. The other one
- 38:25Speaker 3: almost looked like he wanted to challenge it on the
- 38:27Speaker 3: outside part. He didn't agree that it was a strike.
- 38:30Speaker 3: But this one was a little bit closer and able
- 38:32Speaker 3: to stay through for a single up the middle. Good
- 38:34Speaker 3: piece of hitting.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Now Reese Hoskins, who walked his first time up. Bright
- 38:40Speaker 2: sunshine now here in Chicago. The pitch inside for a ball.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And what that means, we have the late-day shadows starting
- 38:48Speaker 2: to become a factor. They're pulling over the first base
- 38:51Speaker 2: side of the infield just inside the foul line. So
- 38:55Speaker 2: the hitter's in shadows. The pitcher is in sunshine. A
- 38:59Speaker 2: 1-0 in there for a strike. One and one.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Maybe that's why they're swinging early. You get the most
- 39:04Speaker 3: at-bats before the shadows come and all that stuff.
- 39:08Speaker 2: So explain for the fans, why is this such a
- 39:10Speaker 2: challenge when you have shadows figuring in?
- 39:12Speaker 3: It just enters another dimension to the difficulty in hitting
- 39:15Speaker 3: a baseball. I think when it comes..
- 39:18Speaker 2: The one-one, swing and a miss.
- 39:20Speaker 3: When you're trying so hard to pick up the seams
- 39:22Speaker 3: of a ball or to pick up the pitcher's arm
- 39:25Speaker 3: rotation or the hand slot, if it's bright, if the
- 39:29Speaker 3: sun's beating... down on it, it kind of gives that
- 39:31Speaker 3: glare and you can't pick up the seams anymore at all.
- 39:33Speaker 3: If it's the shadows, now it's going from maybe brightness
- 39:36Speaker 3: to a shade, and it's changing the element of what
- 39:38Speaker 3: you're trying to see right there, and it's just making
- 39:41Speaker 3: it harder.
- 39:42Speaker 2: The 1-2, that missed upstairs, not by much.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Instead of your brain being able to process the spin
- 39:47Speaker 3: of a ball in the daylight, I think in watching
- 39:50Speaker 3: that the whole way into a strike zone. Now it
- 39:51Speaker 3: has to process it. Now it crosses over to a shadow,
- 39:54Speaker 3: and you're like, okay, is it still doing the same
- 39:57Speaker 3: thing as it was? You kind of just have to
- 39:58Speaker 3: fill in the blanks from what it changes from right
- 40:00Speaker 3: to dark.
- 40:02Speaker 2: The 2-2. Swing and a miss. Strike three. Hoskins down
- 40:06Speaker 2: on strikes for the second out in the inning. Still
- 40:10Speaker 2: no score. We're in the fourth. Top half. Khalil Watson
- 40:14Speaker 2: will step in. That's the first strikeout for Fetty.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Now, some guys can wear glasses. I think that kind
- 40:22Speaker 3: of alleviates a little bit of their eyesight, and it
- 40:24Speaker 3: helps them kind of keep it one shade throughout to
- 40:27Speaker 3: some degree. I wasn't that guy. I couldn't really wear
- 40:30Speaker 3: glasses or never did too much when I hit.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Pitch to Watson, down low and outside. Watson walked his
- 40:43Speaker 2: first time up. It's amazing, after getting that first hit
- 40:46Speaker 2: in his major league career Monday night, How relaxed he
- 40:50Speaker 2: has been since. And he swings and drills one high
- 40:53Speaker 2: and deep to right center. But moving over, making the catch,
- 40:57Speaker 2: the center fielder, Peters. Well struck by Watson, but he's retired.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And so are the Guardians in the fourth. After three
- 41:06Speaker 2: and a half, still no score. Guardians and White Sox
- 41:09Speaker 2: on the south side.
- 41:11Speaker 8: This is the call of the Australian rubber bird.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Snap!
- 41:15Speaker 3: Snap!
- 41:16Speaker 8: This is the call of the Alaskan chili bird. And

- 42:59Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Kyle Teal leads things off for the White Sox. Bottom
- 43:13Speaker 2: half of inning number four, and he takes a fastball
- 43:16Speaker 2: strike from Tanner Bybee. Teal was hit by a pitch
- 43:21Speaker 2: his first time up. Former first-round draft pick of the
- 43:25Speaker 2: Red Sox, but came over in that Garrett Crochet trade
- 43:29Speaker 2: that has worked so well for Chicago. The 0-1, breaking ball.
- 43:34Speaker 2: He tried to check his swing, couldn't do it. It's 0-2.
- 43:39Speaker 2: No score in this one. This one shaping up similar
- 43:43Speaker 2: to last night. Great pitching from Parker Messick and Sean Burke,
- 43:47Speaker 2: the starters.
- 43:48Speaker 3: They were both very sharp.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Here's the 0-2. Swung on, and that's looped to shallow center.
- 43:54Speaker 16: Leaping attempt, and a catch by Rokio. Going up the
- 43:58Speaker 16: ladder to do it.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Broken bat, not much on it, but the placement was
- 44:02Speaker 3: there for the hitter to get a good signal, but
- 44:04Speaker 3: Rokio with a great first-step read on that ball going
- 44:07Speaker 3: back immediately. Timed up his jump perfectly.
- 44:11Speaker 2: So one out. Base is empty for Colson Montgomery. Don't
- 44:16Speaker 2: forget MLB Journey to 30 sweepstakes is underway. It's presented
- 44:20Speaker 2: by T-Mobile, the ultimate bucket list experience. Enter now for
- 44:24Speaker 2: your chance to win trips to all 30 Major League ballparks.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I'll tell you how after this pitch. It's on its
- 44:32Speaker 2: way to Montgomery, and it's outside for a ball. Previous
- 44:35Speaker 2: pitch is called a ball, catch is challenging. Maybe not
- 44:37Speaker 2: a ball. Go to MLB.com slash journey to 30 sweeps.
- 44:43Speaker 2: And it was a ball. So 1-0 the count on Montgomery.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Questionable challenge there a little bit then. Kind of goes
- 44:55Speaker 3: against what we were saying about them earlier.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Here comes Bybee's 1-0 pitch. Swung on. Popped it up. Foul.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Back behind home plate and out of play. Just above us.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Almost.
- 45:08Speaker 15: Almost.
- 45:10Speaker 2: You want one to come in here?
- 45:11Speaker 3: Always.
- 45:12Speaker 2: You do. Always. All right.
- 45:15Speaker 3: And I expect you to catch it.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Well, you might be disappointed. I'm just going to say.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Here comes the 1-1. Down low.
- 45:26Speaker 3: 2-1-1.
- 45:31Speaker 2: The track record is not good.
- 45:34Speaker 3: I can tell you right now. Yeah, but now I'm
- 45:36Speaker 3: finally in a position to be like, well, why didn't you.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Catch that ball?
- 45:39Speaker 3: That's true.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Funny how that comes full circle. Here's the 2-1. Swung on,
- 45:47Speaker 2: popped up, and that's out towards shallow left. Under it
- 45:50Speaker 2: is Rocchio, who makes the catch for the second out
- 45:54Speaker 2: in the inning. I never questioned. He made an error?
- 45:57Speaker 2: That is tough.
- 45:59Speaker 3: That's the toughest play I've ever seen.
- 46:01Speaker 2: You make an error. I can't believe that. They gave
- 46:04Speaker 2: him an error.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Other turntables.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Two up, two down here in the fourth. We're joined
- 46:11Speaker 2: by Jason Kipnis here in Chicago. Chicago kid, this is fun.
- 46:16Speaker 2: You get to stay at home.
- 46:16Speaker 3: This is nice.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Chase Mydroth, the batter. Here comes the pitch from Tanner Bybee.
- 46:28Speaker 2: And it's up and in. A little chin music. And
- 46:33Speaker 2: you always like coming here. This was your spot. Fun
- 46:35Speaker 2: to see it jumping a little bit again.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I don't want them to win any of
- 46:39Speaker 3: these games versus Cleveland. I don't want them to win
- 46:41Speaker 3: the division or anything like that. But as a Chicago native,
- 46:43Speaker 3: it is fun to have the White Sox being decent again.
- 46:47Speaker 2: I will say that. It's hard to not say that.
- 46:49Speaker 2: The 1-0 on the outside corner for a strike. and
- 46:53Speaker 2: they had 28,000 here on a Tuesday night last night,
- 46:56Speaker 2: and those folks were into the game.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I mean, just any city's more fun when their teams
- 47:02Speaker 3: are doing well, their sports teams are doing well.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Here's the 1-1. Swung on, blasted high, but fouled down
- 47:08Speaker 2: the left side and out of play.
- 47:10Speaker 3: It gives a good rivalry between the Sox and the Cubs.
- 47:14Speaker 3: So yeah, everybody knows I do a little bit of
- 47:19Speaker 3: marquee TV with the Cubs too, but it's just It's
- 47:21Speaker 3: just because I live here, Cleveland people. It's just because
- 47:24Speaker 3: I live here. I wanted to stay in the game,
- 47:25Speaker 3: and it's closer to me. Otherwise, I would do Cleveland
- 47:27Speaker 3: full-time if I could or chose to. I don't know
- 47:30Speaker 3: if they would have let me, but.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Here's the 1-2. Outside and low, 2-2. And you did
- 47:38Speaker 2: get back to Cleveland for the 10-year anniversary of the
- 47:42Speaker 2: 2016 club.
- 47:42Speaker 3: I've been back a couple times. I always try to
- 47:45Speaker 3: find my way back. I love it there.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Here's the 2-2 pitch. Swung on. Popped it up. Foul.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Upper deck. First base side. Two down. Base is empty
- 48:00Speaker 2: here in the fourth inning. No score. Two-hour, 40-minute rain
- 48:05Speaker 2: delay today. That's why we're playing now. If you're driving home,
- 48:07Speaker 2: drive time back in Cleveland. Great to have you with us.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Here comes the 2-2. Swing and a miss. Strike three.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Got him to chase. My drop down on strikes to
- 48:23Speaker 2: retire the side. The second strikeout for Tanner Bybee and
- 48:26Speaker 2: we'll head to the fifth. Guardians nothing. White Sox nothing.
