- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: So this week we're celebrating the release of a hundred weekday episodes of the Daily Rider podcast.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Now these are the short little episodes that you hear Monday through Friday on the show.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And you know, it's been really interesting.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: These have been a huge hit with listeners.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Consistently, I hear that people love these little short episodes.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: So what I thought would be fun is since we've put out a hundred of these since November when I rebooted the podcast, I thought I would pick the five or at least five of the most popular ones to share again on the podcast this week.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Today's episode is titled Remember Who You Are.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: 1994's The Lion King is one of the most beloved animated movies of all time.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: In case you haven't seen it in a while, the story focuses on Simba, a young cub in the pride lands of Africa.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: He's first in line to inherit the throne from his father Mufasa, who is a good and generous ruler.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: But there's one thing that stands in the way.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Mufasa's evil brother Scar, who crafts a plan to have both Mufasa and Simba killed in a giant wildebeest stampede.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Young Simba manages to survive, but Scar orders the traumatized cub to leave and never return.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Years go by as Simba grows up in the jungle and he loses sight of his true identity.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: At a critical point in the story, the spirit of his father Mufasa appears in the sky and delivers an important reminder.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: He says, Remember who you are.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You know, we all need this reminder once in a while.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: We get distracted, we busy ourselves with too many responsibilities, or we start to listen to the naysayers.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: It's really easy to lose sight of who you are.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: So who are you exactly?
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: You're a writer.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Being a writer is no small thing.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: It means you get to use words to change hearts and minds.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Through stories, books, poems, songs, scripts, blog posts and podcasts, speeches and lessons, and so much more, you have the power to literally change the course of history.
