- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven to tenor boy, the Mark Simoon Show starts.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now. Oh well, hey, I got a lot to get
- 0:10Speaker 2: to today. We'll get to the tanker. We'll get to Tucker,
- 0:13Speaker 2: We'll get to Mom, Donnie, We'll get to Luigi. We
- 0:17Speaker 2: got a lot of stuff to talk about today. So
- 0:20Speaker 2: that you might have seen on the news that the
- 0:22Speaker 2: United States of America seized a Venezuelan oil tanker. It
- 0:27Speaker 2: looked pretty impressive, the military operation with the planes and
- 0:31Speaker 2: fighter jets and helicopters and our military repelling down onto
- 0:37Speaker 2: the deck, seizing this massive oil tanker with thousands and
- 0:42Speaker 2: thousands of gallons of oil on if it was about
- 0:44Speaker 2: seventy million worth of oil. It was a Venezuelan ship.
- 0:49Speaker 2: The whole thing was illegal because it was violating our sanctions.
- 0:53Speaker 2: And of course you had all the fake news all
- 0:55Speaker 2: up in arms. Here's that old weather beaten, old hag Martha.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Rattott sources telling ABC News it was headed for Cuba,
- 1:03Speaker 3: capable of carrying up to two million barrels of oil.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Today's seizure marking the first time the US has overtly
- 1:10Speaker 3: interfered with oil exports, Venezuela's main source of revenue.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Until now, the US.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Has been targeting boats they say are carrying drugs, striking
- 1:19Speaker 3: at least twenty two boats and killing nearly ninety people,
- 1:23Speaker 3: including two survivors.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Now this old Martha rat, it's this old hag looks
- 1:28Speaker 2: like Granny on a Beverly hillbillize, you know, not quite
- 1:33Speaker 2: the mother on Golden Girls. But she's getting there. But
- 1:37Speaker 2: you notice her language overtly interfered with Venezuela. If if
- 1:43Speaker 2: you were watching this, you must think this is the
- 1:46Speaker 2: most awful thing. Why would we overtly interfere with a nice, little, peaceful,
- 1:51Speaker 2: little oil shipman. Why would we see? Well, she forgot
- 1:55Speaker 2: to explain that the ship was in total violation of
- 1:58Speaker 2: US sanctions. Now, let me just explain. When it comes
- 2:01Speaker 2: to sanctions, they're never enforced. You know, we have sanctions
- 2:05Speaker 2: at times where you're not allowed to buy Russian oil,
- 2:08Speaker 2: you're not allowed to buy Iranian oil, or you're not
- 2:10Speaker 2: allowed to ship oil to this country or to that country.
- 2:14Speaker 2: These are sanctions now, they've just never enforced. Biden was
- 2:17Speaker 2: the king of this. You know, remember Russia did they
- 2:21Speaker 2: invaded Ukraine or at one point when Russia did something awful,
- 2:25Speaker 2: Biden big press conference. He said, I am placing six
- 2:30Speaker 2: hundred and fifty sanctions on Russia, and the fake news
- 2:35Speaker 2: applauded and said, wow, look at him, stand up to Russia. Well,
- 2:39Speaker 2: they never told the audience that there was already twenty
- 2:43Speaker 2: seven hundred sanctions on Russia that weren't being enforced, and
- 2:47Speaker 2: these six hundred weren't going to be enforced, and they're
- 2:49Speaker 2: never enforced. It's the silliest thing in the world. Can
- 2:53Speaker 2: you imagine if cops when they pull you over for
- 2:56Speaker 2: a speeding ticket, never forced them, if you throw it
- 3:01Speaker 2: away and you didn't go to court, nothing, whatever, you'd
- 3:03Speaker 2: never enforced them. Well, nobody would stop speeding. So President
- 3:07Speaker 2: Trump decided, let's actually enforce one of these sanctions. Let's
- 3:13Speaker 2: actually do what we're supposed to do and enforce one.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So they seized the ship, took the oil. She said,
- 3:21Speaker 2: a couple of million barrels. It's seventy million worth of oil.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And reporters, of course went nuts asking them about it.
- 3:28Speaker 1: We've just seized a tanker on the coast of venezuela
- 3:34Speaker 1: large tanker, very large, largest one ever sees. Extra and
- 3:41Speaker 1: other things are happening.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, they cut the clip here. But the reporter said, well,
- 3:47Speaker 2: what are you gonna do with the oil? And he said,
- 3:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I guess we keep it. You know,
- 3:52Speaker 2: he hadn't thought about that's just simply enforcing the sanction.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And then when he said I guess we keep it,
- 3:59Speaker 2: of course fake news went nuts, how they can't keep
- 4:02Speaker 2: their oil. Well, what would you do with it? It's
- 4:06Speaker 2: a sanction you're supposed to enforce. You're supposed to seize it.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That's okay, despite what the fake news tells you. Now
- 4:13Speaker 2: that you've seized it, what do you do with the oil?
- 4:18Speaker 2: If you don't keep it? What do you do with it?
- 4:19Speaker 2: Do you give it back to somebody? You send it
- 4:22Speaker 2: back to? That wouldn't make any sense. So what do
- 4:26Speaker 2: you do with the oil? You could put it up
- 4:27Speaker 2: on eBay and sell it. You could go sell it somewhere.
- 4:30Speaker 2: You keep it, I guess. Now. The price of oil
- 4:34Speaker 2: went up a little yesterday the seizing of a tanker,
- 4:36Speaker 2: but not much it was it went only went up
- 4:38Speaker 2: one percent. And what this means is if he continues
- 4:45Speaker 2: to do this kind of stuff, the countries may actually
- 4:49Speaker 2: start obeying the sanctions. They may stop violating sanctions. Can
- 4:54Speaker 2: you imagine such a thing? What's next? And he un
- 4:57Speaker 2: hinted there's other things coming now. You know, he's got
- 4:59Speaker 2: talking about going into Venezuela, knocking out all their drug facilities,
- 5:04Speaker 2: stopping all that. You know, if he stops all their
- 5:05Speaker 2: oil shipments, they're just going to go broke. They got
- 5:08Speaker 2: a billion dollars in reserve, but at some point they'll
- 5:11Speaker 2: go broke. But he was also hinting it going after
- 5:13Speaker 2: Columbia next.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Columbia's producing a lot of drugs. They have cocaine factories
- 5:18Speaker 1: that they make cocaine, as you know, and they sell
- 5:20Speaker 1: it right into the say so he better wise up
- 5:23Speaker 1: or he'll be next.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Now, I don't know what this could do to people.
- 5:28Speaker 2: You know, if you go after all the fentanyl, if
- 5:31Speaker 2: you go after all the cocaine, at some point there
- 5:33Speaker 2: could be a tremendous shortage of drugs. I don't know.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I mean, you know, it can have all these drug
- 5:39Speaker 2: agents running around try to arrest all the drug dealers,
- 5:41Speaker 2: but that we've been doing that for a thousand years,
- 5:44Speaker 2: it never seems to get that much done. If you
- 5:48Speaker 2: actually made the supply of drugs dry up, that could
- 5:50Speaker 2: be interesting. First of all, it would drive the price
- 5:53Speaker 2: way up, so it's interesting. But now, of course you're
- 5:57Speaker 2: going to see Chuck Schumer with his glasses all falls
- 6:00Speaker 2: ugged up, yelling and screaming about how dare you seize
- 6:03Speaker 2: an oil tanker. You're going to see all the craziest senators,
- 6:08Speaker 2: you know, the blooming dolls and the Chris Murphy's yelling
- 6:11Speaker 2: and screaming and huffing and puffing about it. But it's
- 6:14Speaker 2: a great thing. It's a great thing. You see all
- 6:16Speaker 2: these experts explaining this stuff.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserve in the world,
- 6:21Speaker 4: so it's fourteen trillion dollars worth of oil and it's
- 6:24Speaker 4: a primary means of the regime funding.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so you're stopping the primary funding of that awful regime.
- 6:31Speaker 4: It is a significant escalation, but this might be the
- 6:34Speaker 4: start of a campaign. With all that naval power, the
- 6:37Speaker 4: US can certainly stop oil tankers from leaving Venezuela, which
- 6:40Speaker 4: could completely cut off their ability to sell their own
- 6:45Speaker 4: Krugle world.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Yeah, now that's the other thing. You might not have
- 6:47Speaker 2: to fire too many shots after after a while. I
- 6:49Speaker 2: would think if you're a narco terrorist in one of
- 6:51Speaker 2: those speedboats. You might not really want to go on
- 6:54Speaker 2: one of those missions and go, you know, through the
- 6:58Speaker 2: water anymore. And if you're one of these tankers, if
- 7:02Speaker 2: it's going to get seized, you may not want to
- 7:04Speaker 2: send one of these tankers out. So it all might
- 7:07Speaker 2: just stop. So we'll see what happens. Schumer, of course,
- 7:11Speaker 2: yelling and screaming about everybody and everything. They're still on
- 7:15Speaker 2: Pete Hexath hexit arrangement syndrome continues. They want him gone.
- 7:20Speaker 2: He's not going anywhere.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Hey.
- 7:22Speaker 2: By the way, watch the video of this mission, the
- 7:24Speaker 2: seizing of the tanker. Real impressive precision military mission. You
- 7:29Speaker 2: got to remember under Hexath, the military has pulled off
- 7:32Speaker 2: some pretty amazing missions, the bombing of the Iran nuclear facilities,
- 7:37Speaker 2: the seizing of this tanker. It's pretty good. Doesn't impress
- 7:40Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer though, plan to demand Secretary Hegseth.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Give the total unedited videos of what happened in the
- 7:53Speaker 6: September second boat strikes. I will demand of Rubio and
- 7:56Speaker 6: Hegseth what the hell is going on in the Caribbean,
- 7:59Speaker 6: and then his way up.
- 8:01Speaker 2: What are their plans? Good for Schumer? This is what
- 8:04Speaker 2: he does best. Talk mix speeches, yell and scream. He
- 8:09Speaker 2: never actually does anything. You remember all those fake Sunday
- 8:11Speaker 2: press conferences with all those issues he was fighting for.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Soon as the press conference is over, he'd throw the
- 8:16Speaker 2: index cards in a waste basket and forget about it.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Same thing here he's demanding. He better nowhere else, or
- 8:23Speaker 2: that's all he does. He just talks and then leaves.
- 8:26Speaker 2: He wants the videos every second, unedited videos must be released.
- 8:31Speaker 2: They hate that he got these big new glasses just
- 8:33Speaker 2: to watch these videos. But you'll never he'll yell and
- 8:37Speaker 2: scream about it. Now, what democrats generally do is they
- 8:40Speaker 2: start this stuff, they go crazy, it becomes a major issue.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Then they keep focus grouping it, and then after about
- 8:45Speaker 2: a week or two they say, huh, it's not registering,
- 8:49Speaker 2: it's not working on people. Then they throw it right
- 8:51Speaker 2: in the waste basket. Find something else. They don't really
- 8:53Speaker 2: care about any of this stuff. Affordability that seems to
- 8:56Speaker 2: be working, that has registered, even though there's not that
- 8:59Speaker 2: much of an affordabil crisis. There was a terrible affordability
- 9:03Speaker 2: crisis under Joe Biden, where of inflation went nuts the
- 9:07Speaker 2: highest level in fifty years, and for the middle class
- 9:10Speaker 2: the highest level ever. It was horrible under Biden. Trump
- 9:14Speaker 2: has brought it down almost in half. It's going to
- 9:17Speaker 2: take another six months to bring it down the other half.
- 9:19Speaker 2: But so it's Biden's affordability crisis. They never mentioned that part.
- 9:24Speaker 2: But even on CNBC, which is the most left wing slanted,
- 9:28Speaker 2: even on CNBC yesterday, Jay Clayton, who's the US attorney,
- 9:33Speaker 2: he's the former SEC chairman, very knowledgeable guy financially on
- 9:38Speaker 2: the economy. All that's very not brilliant guy, very good guy,
- 9:41Speaker 2: Jay Clayton, he was the guest. But even the CNBC
- 9:46Speaker 2: panel had to admit that this affordability crisis was all
- 9:50Speaker 2: the fault of Joe Biden.
- 9:52Speaker 3: The affordability issue is but from the twenty two percent increase.
- 9:55Speaker 6: In prices in inflation under Biden, there's this full stop
- 9:59Speaker 6: right there.
- 10:00Speaker 7: That's the affordability issue.
- 10:02Speaker 4: And you ought to be able to explain.
- 10:03Speaker 7: That, right, That's right.
- 10:05Speaker 8: And look, I think that with the economic team President
- 10:10Speaker 8: Trump and the economic team led by Scott Dessant, you
- 10:13Speaker 8: have people who very much understand this and it was
- 10:17Speaker 8: a they were thrown you know what, I would say,
- 10:20Speaker 8: the worst economy for the average American in my adult
- 10:24Speaker 8: lifetime in terms of the like you said, the incredible
- 10:29Speaker 8: increase in prices at the household.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Now, so this affordability thing seems to work. If you
- 10:35Speaker 2: just keep yelling at screaming this affordability crisis, people start
- 10:38Speaker 2: to believe it and hold it against Trump.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Now.
- 10:41Speaker 2: They did this exact same play years ago against George HW.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Bush and it worked. George H. W. Bush Bush Senior
- 10:49Speaker 2: was running against this unknown young governor, Bill Clinton, and
- 10:54Speaker 2: they hadn't got the word affordability yet. That came out
- 10:56Speaker 2: of focus groups a few weeks ago. Focus groups found
- 11:00Speaker 2: the best word was affordability. But it was back in
- 11:02Speaker 2: ninety two Bush versus Clinton, and they kept talking about
- 11:06Speaker 2: the economic crisis. They made it look like they were
- 11:08Speaker 2: in the worst with the economy. It was having problems,
- 11:11Speaker 2: but it wasn't the worst economy. They made it sound
- 11:13Speaker 2: like it was, and it helped Bush Senior lose to Clinton.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And back then, the big newscast was the CBS Evening
- 11:20Speaker 2: News with Dan Rather, and every night you can go
- 11:24Speaker 2: back and watch the videos of this all through the campaign.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Every night the CBS Evening News did the special feature
- 11:32Speaker 2: Economy in Crisis economy in crisis. They would open with
- 11:37Speaker 2: that and then rather had to do the actual news.
- 11:40Speaker 2: But before he did, he said, now coming up, we'll
- 11:42Speaker 2: get to our special feature, the economy in crisis or
- 11:45Speaker 2: is a crisis in the economy? And every night they
- 11:49Speaker 2: would do this special feature, but the economy in crisis. Well,
- 11:53Speaker 2: on November fourth, the election came and Clinton won, and
- 11:58Speaker 2: that night they dropped the feature. There was no feature,
- 12:02Speaker 2: no economy and crisis, no crisis in the economy. They
- 12:04Speaker 2: never mentioned it again. As soon as Clinton won, they
- 12:07Speaker 2: dropped the feature and never used it again. But it
- 12:09Speaker 2: helped kill Bush. So they've brought this play back. And
- 12:13Speaker 2: sure enough, if they keep yelling and screaming about affordability, affordability, affordability,
- 12:17Speaker 2: everyone thinks is a crisis. Now the president has not
- 12:23Speaker 2: been on top of this. He needs, you know, they
- 12:24Speaker 2: keep saying, you got to do better messaging. But it's
- 12:27Speaker 2: it's tough, you know, if every time anybody turns around,
- 12:30Speaker 2: they see affordability crisis. So he's got to get back
- 12:34Speaker 2: out there in the campaign trail. He did the first
- 12:36Speaker 2: one this week in Pennsylvania. There'll be more of them coming,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and he's got to talk about affordability.
- 12:41Speaker 9: I have no.
- 12:42Speaker 10: Higher priority than making America affordable again.
- 12:45Speaker 5: That's what we're going to do.
- 12:46Speaker 10: They gave you high prices, they gave you the highest
- 12:50Speaker 10: inflation in history, and we're giving you we're bringing those
- 12:53Speaker 10: prices down rapidly, lower prices, bigger paychecks. You're getting lower prices,
- 12:58Speaker 10: bigger X. We're getting inflation, we're crushing it, and you're
- 13:04Speaker 10: getting much higher wages. I mean, the only thing that
- 13:07Speaker 10: you used. It's really going up big. It's called the
- 13:09Speaker 10: stock market and your four oh one k.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, stock market has been on fire all year now.
- 13:15Speaker 2: When the stock market goes crazy, goes way up. Well,
- 13:19Speaker 2: of course it helps the big hedge fund guys of
- 13:21Speaker 2: billionaires Goldman's as those kind of guy, of course it
- 13:26Speaker 2: helps them. But it helps every working man and woman
- 13:29Speaker 2: in America because they got a four oh one k
- 13:31Speaker 2: pension and the pension's invested in stock. So it's driving
- 13:34Speaker 2: up your pension, driving up your four oh one k.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But of course the media will never mention this. The
- 13:39Speaker 2: president gets no credit for it. You know, the smartest
- 13:42Speaker 2: guy is Larry Cudler, the best economist, and if you
- 13:44Speaker 2: watch Cudlow every day, four o'clock Fox Business Network, especially
- 13:48Speaker 2: the first five or ten minutes, Larry Cudler will go
- 13:52Speaker 2: over the exact most important statistics on the economy, laying
- 13:56Speaker 2: out how much better the economy is doing. He'll give
- 13:59Speaker 2: you a real data. It'll put it up on the
- 14:01Speaker 2: screen and it's fascinating. Then I'll right away go to
- 14:04Speaker 2: the top economists in the world, Art Laugher, all of
- 14:07Speaker 2: this stuff, and if you watch that, you'll understand exactly
- 14:12Speaker 2: how good things are. The economy was bad under Biden,
- 14:16Speaker 2: but it's getting better every week, and you'll give you
- 14:17Speaker 2: the exact figures and data. Well, not everybody watches Cutlow
- 14:21Speaker 2: every day. You know, most people are watching Sherry Shepherd,
- 14:24Speaker 2: they're watching the prices right, They're watching entertainment. You know,
- 14:29Speaker 2: they're not watching that. So you gotta remember, for a
- 14:32Speaker 2: lot of people, they don't follow this stuff. They don't
- 14:34Speaker 2: listen to talk radio, they don't follow this closely. They
- 14:38Speaker 2: watch you man, we'll just check the evening news at
- 14:41Speaker 2: six point thirty. We'll watch that for ten minutes. That's
- 14:44Speaker 2: their news summary. So if you get these fake news
- 14:47Speaker 2: idiots like this Martha Raddatz.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Sources telling ABC News it was headed for Cuba capable
- 14:53Speaker 3: of carrying up to two million barrels of oil. Today's
- 14:56Speaker 3: seizure marking the first time the US has overtly inter
- 15:00Speaker 3: with the election.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That's all you think. What they overtly interfered with a
- 15:05Speaker 2: country trying to ship some oil. She never mentions. It
- 15:08Speaker 2: was in total violation of US sanctions. It was an
- 15:11Speaker 2: illegal ship and illegalship. She never mentioned it. So if
- 15:15Speaker 2: you're just watching the ABC and evening news, what are
- 15:18Speaker 2: you supposed to think you're supposed to I think, slowly,
- 15:21Speaker 2: but truly, one by one, people are starting to realize
- 15:23Speaker 2: you can't trust these people. President Trump saying the New
- 15:26Speaker 2: York Times should cease publication. Well, I gonna cease publication.
- 15:30Speaker 2: New York Times actually doing pretty well. You can make
- 15:32Speaker 2: a lot of money with this fake news. In fact, subscriptions.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You gotta remember with the newspaper, the print edition means
- 15:41Speaker 2: nothing anymore. It's just a money loser. The New York
- 15:44Speaker 2: Times print edition probably has one hundred thousand people, but
- 15:48Speaker 2: it's online where people read the newspaper and you subscribe
- 15:52Speaker 2: online subscriptions. New York Times just hit twelve million. It's
- 15:56Speaker 2: pretty impressive. Twelve million, online subscription. So you can make
- 16:01Speaker 2: a lot of money doing this fake news. But there
- 16:02Speaker 2: should be some Federal Trade Commission something stepping in on labeling.
- 16:08Speaker 2: You know, if you falsely label a product, they can
- 16:10Speaker 2: step right in there and stop you. You know, if
- 16:13Speaker 2: you say this product can definitely cure that, well they can.
- 16:16Speaker 2: They can make you change that label and you'll have
- 16:19Speaker 2: to put in there that doesn't actually cure it, it could
- 16:21Speaker 2: reduce symptoms. You know. So when the New York TIMPs
- 16:24Speaker 2: calls it a newspaper, or that they're printing news or
- 16:28Speaker 2: here's the news section, Federal Trade Commission can step in
- 16:33Speaker 2: there and say, you're not labeling this correctly. This is
- 16:36Speaker 2: a political agenda. You're pushing a narrative. You're not really
- 16:39Speaker 2: reporting the news as is. Anyway, we've got a lot
- 16:41Speaker 2: to get to speaking of the great economists. We'll have
- 16:43Speaker 2: one in just a few minutes so we can get
- 16:46Speaker 2: the actual facts on how the economy is doing. We've
- 16:48Speaker 2: got a lot coming up. We'll take some calls. Next
- 16:50Speaker 2: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the
- 16:54Speaker 2: number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten and
- 17:00Speaker 2: mark on demand by setting a preset for his podcast
- 17:04Speaker 2: on the iHeart Radio app.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Now back to Mark Simon ONR.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to John in Florida. John,
- 17:14Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 17:16Speaker 11: I'm morning, Mark, and Holidays. They should take that oil
- 17:19Speaker 11: and fill up the always at that.
- 17:21Speaker 2: They'll take the what.
- 17:23Speaker 11: You know from that the oil.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good idea. Throw it in the oil reserves.
- 17:31Speaker 11: And also about Martha Gradish strike news stations these advertisements,
- 17:36Speaker 11: and you'll cut these plea people and start advertising with
- 17:39Speaker 11: them and they'll change their tune. You hit them in
- 17:41Speaker 11: the popabook, got to change tool.
- 17:45Speaker 2: No they won't. They won't all they won't.
- 17:48Speaker 11: Okay, you know better, boy.
- 17:49Speaker 2: No, they won't. For a second. They actually don't make
- 17:53Speaker 2: any money on the news or the Sunday shows. It's uh.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I mean, they sell commercials, but it's not a big
- 17:58Speaker 2: part of their revenue. It's just on principle they do it.
- 18:01Speaker 2: The Sunday show makes no money, it has no viewers,
- 18:04Speaker 2: but it's fake news and they love it. Let's go
- 18:07Speaker 2: to Kay in Manhattan, k How you doing, Hi?
- 18:12Speaker 1: Mark?
- 18:13Speaker 12: I'd like what I'd like to say these voters who
- 18:15Speaker 12: are who are thinking about voting for Democrats because of
- 18:19Speaker 12: the economy.
- 18:20Speaker 7: Yeah, but they.
- 18:21Speaker 12: Remind me of a woman who has a boyfriend who
- 18:25Speaker 12: batters her and abuses her, and then she meets a
- 18:28Speaker 12: really nice guy and he forgets her birthday, so she
- 18:32Speaker 12: goes back to the first guy.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 12: Well, I can't even believe these people would think about
- 18:39Speaker 12: voting for Democrats after what this country has been through.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Well, it happens, It happens. Hey, they voted for mom Donnie.
- 18:47Speaker 9: Hey.
- 18:48Speaker 2: By the way, I remember I was mentioned before. Nobody
- 18:50Speaker 2: reads the print edition of a newspaper. Nobody. It's tiny,
- 18:55Speaker 2: the circulation of a print edition. It's all subscriptions now,
- 18:59Speaker 2: So if you're the New Times, all your money is
- 19:02Speaker 2: off subscriptions, twelve million subscribers.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Now.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Well, one thing that did is and they found, you know,
- 19:08Speaker 2: in the print edition, is you turn the page as
- 19:10Speaker 2: a full page ad. Wow, you'd see this ad. What
- 19:13Speaker 2: they found with the people that read the paper online
- 19:15Speaker 2: is they don't pay any attention to the ads. They
- 19:17Speaker 2: don't even look at them, and they don't The only
- 19:20Speaker 2: way they make money is if you click on the ad. Well,
- 19:22Speaker 2: nobody clicks on the ads online on a newspaper, so
- 19:26Speaker 2: all the revenue is from the subscriptions now and not
- 19:29Speaker 2: from advertising. And that's one reason the New York Times
- 19:32Speaker 2: and other publications have been able to go crazy left wing,
- 19:37Speaker 2: totally slanted partisans, because they're no longer depending on advertising revenue.
- 19:41Speaker 2: So the New York Times, Washington Posts, they can go
- 19:43Speaker 2: totally nuts. All the money is subscriptions, no longer advertising.
- 19:48Speaker 2: You don't have to worry about advertiser backlash anymore if
- 19:51Speaker 2: you're a newspaper. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 19:54Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 19:55Speaker 12: Good morning, Mark.
- 19:56Speaker 13: I'm doing very well. Thank you.
- 19:58Speaker 7: Mark.
- 19:58Speaker 13: I have a question about the autopen during the Biden administration.
- 20:03Speaker 13: What exactly will President Trump do or has he done
- 20:07Speaker 13: regarding pardons?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Well, good question. He has said if it's an autopen pardon,
- 20:12Speaker 2: they're going to probably cancel it because it wasn't actually
- 20:15Speaker 2: signed by Biden and the technically the president has to
- 20:17Speaker 2: sign it. Apparently there is some way you can tell
- 20:20Speaker 2: if it was the autopen or a real signature. Let's
- 20:23Speaker 2: go to Joe in New York City. Joe, how you doing?
- 20:27Speaker 13: Those crazy sig Democrats saying jingle bells is racist? That's nonsense, Mark.
- 20:34Speaker 13: He went the Three Stooges did jingle bells.
- 20:41Speaker 2: There you go. Well, I told you we have the
- 20:43Speaker 2: most incredible high end audience in the world. There are
- 20:46Speaker 2: some exceptions, there's a few. Now, what he's talking about
- 20:50Speaker 2: is this crazy Joy Reed who got fired from MSNBC
- 20:55Speaker 2: yelling and screaming yesterday that jingle Bells is racist. Jingle
- 21:00Speaker 2: Bells is racist. I don't know what the hell she's
- 21:05Speaker 2: talking about. She claims it was written by a Confederate
- 21:07Speaker 2: soldier who wrote jingle Bells and he was making fun
- 21:10Speaker 2: of black people, and that it has its origins in
- 21:14Speaker 2: bigoted minstrel shows that were popular at the time. Well,
- 21:17Speaker 2: this doesn't make any sense. It was a song, but
- 21:20Speaker 2: Joy Reid claiming jingle Bells is racist. However, this makes
- 21:25Speaker 2: her look pretty hypo critical. I found out she made
- 21:28Speaker 2: a recording of the song years ago. I found this
- 21:31Speaker 2: is Joy Reid singing jingle Bells. Pretty good, it's not bad. Actually,
- 21:42Speaker 2: let's go to Jeffrey and Queen's Jeffrey, how you.
- 21:45Speaker 7: Doing, Yeah, Mark, good morning?
- 21:48Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 7: Listen to the single affordability as well. I'll pay you
- 21:52Speaker 7: the truth. You go to like ten twenty different supermarkets
- 21:56Speaker 7: and you fi them up the piss through the roof,
- 21:59Speaker 7: especially to the by cats from the dds, thestids and
- 22:03Speaker 7: the other ones. The prices are through the roof.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Well, I always find the gristities prices are pretty good.
- 22:11Speaker 2: There's different supermarkets, but you got to remember you can't
- 22:14Speaker 2: compare like a Manhattan supermarket. If you really want to
- 22:18Speaker 2: test affordability, you got to get out of New York City.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Things cost a whole lot more in Manhattan because there's
- 22:24Speaker 2: all kinds of costs to a supermarket. They don't have
- 22:27Speaker 2: your things. You don't think about. You know, if you
- 22:29Speaker 2: run a supermarket, a million trucks have to show up
- 22:31Speaker 2: every day and deliver your food. So if you got
- 22:34Speaker 2: a supermarket in Long Island or in Westchester, you got
- 22:38Speaker 2: a big parking lot and the trucks come in and
- 22:40Speaker 2: deliver your food. If it's in Manhattan, the trucks have
- 22:42Speaker 2: to double park. They get ticketed like crazy. So if
- 22:46Speaker 2: you're a supermarket, you're paying like half a million a
- 22:49Speaker 2: year in parking tickets, things like that, you're paying congestion
- 22:52Speaker 2: pricing to you're paying all kinds of taxes. So the
- 22:55Speaker 2: supermarket that brings up the price is paying millions in
- 23:00Speaker 2: expenses they wouldn't be paying if they were in the suburbs.
- 23:02Speaker 2: So again, something with gas, don't you know, don't look
- 23:05Speaker 2: at a gas pump in New York City and think
- 23:07Speaker 2: that's the price around the country.
- 23:08Speaker 9: It's not.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Hey, when we come back, one of the greatest economists
- 23:12Speaker 2: in the world, Now, what is the real story with affordability.
- 23:15Speaker 2: We'll get to that next Steve Moore, we hope coming
- 23:18Speaker 2: up next on seven to ten wor.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Seventeen w alarm.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Well, let's turned to one of the great economists in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the world, Steve Moore, and he runs the committee to
- 23:29Speaker 2: Unleash Prosperity dot com and every day they put out
- 23:32Speaker 2: the best daily news and analysis briefing. You can get
- 23:35Speaker 2: it free. It'll come right to your email. Just go
- 23:37Speaker 2: to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Hey, make sure you get
- 23:40Speaker 2: his book, The Trump Economic Miracle. What a book it is.
- 23:44Speaker 2: And he's with us now, Steve Moore, how you doing, hey.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Mark, I'm doing really well. I think the economy is
- 23:50Speaker 5: doing really well. I think America's doing really well. And
- 23:53Speaker 5: you know, I love Trump's speech the other night about
- 23:55Speaker 5: how well the economy is doing because it is it
- 23:57Speaker 5: happens to be doing really well. In terms of wages,
- 24:01Speaker 5: in terms of job opportunities, in terms of four one
- 24:04Speaker 5: K plans. It's all looking very positive to me.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. I got the New York Times
- 24:08Speaker 2: right here says we're in the worst affordability crisis ever
- 24:12Speaker 2: in history. But yeah, their focus groups came up with
- 24:15Speaker 2: this word affordability. They what do you do about the
- 24:18Speaker 2: fact they're just drilling this into people's heads and people
- 24:21Speaker 2: are falling for it.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Well they are, I mean, And by the way, there's
- 24:25Speaker 5: a difference between an increase in prices and an increase
- 24:30Speaker 5: in inflation. So what's happened is, you know, prices are
- 24:33Speaker 5: still rising by about two and a half percent, but
- 24:35Speaker 5: that's down from like five and six percent increases and
- 24:38Speaker 5: prices under Biden. In fact, as you know, the ninety
- 24:43Speaker 5: percent of the inflation that people are complaining about in
- 24:45Speaker 5: the higher prices happened under.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Who Joe Biden?
- 24:49Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. So why is it that people are so
- 24:53Speaker 5: obsessed with Trump on this?
- 24:55Speaker 11: Now?
- 24:55Speaker 5: Look, the things that are really rising in prices right
- 24:58Speaker 5: now are beef prices, and you know, people are angry
- 25:01Speaker 5: when they buy a steak at the grocery store. The
- 25:03Speaker 5: other thing that's going through the roof. By the way,
- 25:05Speaker 5: is healthcare costs?
- 25:06Speaker 7: Mark?
- 25:07Speaker 5: We just got our healthcare statement for twenty six and
- 25:11Speaker 5: our insurance premiums are you ready to are going up
- 25:13Speaker 5: twelve percent? So you know what is going on. I
- 25:16Speaker 5: thought fifteen years ago we passed the affordable care at well, yeah,
- 25:21Speaker 5: not so affordable to me.
- 25:24Speaker 2: But you've been writing about this in the hotline. Yeah,
- 25:27Speaker 2: the whole thing needs to be totally busted up. And
- 25:29Speaker 2: when the government gets involved, nothing works right. But like
- 25:32Speaker 2: a simple test, a cat scan or something, it's one
- 25:34Speaker 2: hundred dollars, but the insurance rate is twelve hundred dollars
- 25:37Speaker 2: or eight thousand. Yeah, you got to stop all this.
- 25:41Speaker 5: How do we you need? Well, one thing, one thing
- 25:43Speaker 5: we need is healthcare price transparency so everyone knows. You know,
- 25:47Speaker 5: have you noticed we as Americans we always ask you
- 25:50Speaker 5: know you've taken you know, you buy a book, an
- 25:53Speaker 5: airline flight, you ask how much it's going to cost?
- 25:54Speaker 5: You go to the grocery store, how much is that
- 25:56Speaker 5: ice creamium cost? Everything that we buy a restaurant, everything
- 26:00Speaker 5: we asked, see how much is it could cost? Except
- 26:01Speaker 5: for one thing healthcare. You know, when you go to
- 26:05Speaker 5: the doctor at the hospital. We never asked what things cost,
- 26:07Speaker 5: and that's one of the reasons prices are completely out
- 26:10Speaker 5: of control. I mean, my old friend Philogram used to say,
- 26:13Speaker 5: if we paid for groceries the way we pay for healthcare,
- 26:16Speaker 5: he said, I'd eat steak and lobster and drink champaign
- 26:18Speaker 5: every night. Yeah.
- 26:20Speaker 2: So there's no way to do this though, get government
- 26:24Speaker 2: completely out of health care, is there? It can't happen.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Well, you know we could if you could not take
- 26:29Speaker 5: a dumber way to pay for healthcare right now than
- 26:32Speaker 5: what we have right now. And incidentally, under the Democratic
- 26:35Speaker 5: plan that you can have an income over half a
- 26:38Speaker 5: million dollars and the Democrats want you to get subsidies
- 26:42Speaker 5: from the taxpayer for millionaires. Practically, I mean, it does
- 26:45Speaker 5: not make any sense. By the way, there are twenty
- 26:49Speaker 5: one states that have refused Trump's demand to tell us
- 26:52Speaker 5: make sure that the people are signing up for Medicaid
- 26:55Speaker 5: and all these Obamacare substies, going to make sure that
- 26:57Speaker 5: they actually have legitimate Social Security numbers and they're eltible
- 27:00Speaker 5: of the programs. Twenty one states, including New York and
- 27:02Speaker 5: New Jersey, have refused to comply.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, they'll be Democrats yelling, well, what's the Republican
- 27:07Speaker 2: plan on healthcare? What is the Republican plan?
- 27:11Speaker 5: I have two words answer? Ready, yeah, free enterprise, free markets. Well,
- 27:17Speaker 5: let's pay healthcare. Now. People should have catastrophic insurance or
- 27:21Speaker 5: you know, if you have you know, if you get
- 27:22Speaker 5: cancer God forbid, or have a terrible accident and you
- 27:25Speaker 5: have hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical expenses, you
- 27:28Speaker 5: want to make sure you're covered for that. But why
- 27:30Speaker 5: do we need you know, healthcare coverage for active visits
- 27:33Speaker 5: and all these other things that are routine expenditures. So
- 27:36Speaker 5: that would make that would put the patient back in
- 27:38Speaker 5: the equation. And incidentally, you know I have an item
- 27:41Speaker 5: in the hotline today. Mark that the in Canada now
- 27:46Speaker 5: they have seven eight, nine, ten, twelve, fifteen, in some
- 27:50Speaker 5: cases twenty six weeks delay and waiting lines to get
- 27:54Speaker 5: any kind of medical procedure. But freeh Do you remember that?
- 28:00Speaker 5: Do you remember the famous scene in the movie Beetlejuice
- 28:02Speaker 5: where the beetle Juice is in the waiting room and
- 28:05Speaker 5: they're serving number number three and he looks at his
- 28:08Speaker 5: number and he's like nine hundred thousand. That's how I help,
- 28:12Speaker 5: there's just some both. It's free if you can get it.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, so the Fed a slight reduction yesterday. This
- 28:20Speaker 2: is the most useless Fed ever? Will this get fixed?
- 28:22Speaker 2: Will we get a new FED chairman?
- 28:24Speaker 9: Will ar?
- 28:25Speaker 5: Yeah, Well it's going to be one. Yep, We're going
- 28:27Speaker 5: to get one of the two. Kevin's either Kevin Hassett
- 28:31Speaker 5: or Kevin Worst. You know both of them. I know
- 28:35Speaker 5: both of them. I think they were both the excellent,
- 28:37Speaker 5: excellent choices. They would restore the value of the dollar.
- 28:40Speaker 5: They would make sure that interest rates are as low
- 28:43Speaker 5: as they possibly can be. And so I'd like both
- 28:45Speaker 5: of those picks. And as long as we get rid
- 28:49Speaker 5: of Jerome Powell, I'll be very happy.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Will he'll be replaced as chairman? Will he step down
- 28:54Speaker 2: from the Fed like he's supposed to?
- 28:56Speaker 5: I hope. So he's the guy who let prices go
- 28:59Speaker 5: up by twenty percent of the last four years. He's
- 29:01Speaker 5: a total failure. He's got to go. And we got
- 29:04Speaker 5: to get somebody in there who depends a dollar, restores
- 29:07Speaker 5: us to price stability, and gets the inflation rate back
- 29:09Speaker 5: down to two percent or belowp Yeah, I gotta run mout,
- 29:12Speaker 5: but I hope you have a great, great day. And
- 29:14Speaker 5: my god, I gotta do some Christmas shopping, all.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Right, get me something nice? You want my sizes?
- 29:20Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right exactly.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Yeah, takes care.
- 29:25Speaker 9: Well. At least he showed up. He had to run,
- 29:27Speaker 9: but at least he showed up. That's pretty good. So
- 29:33Speaker 9: it's enough Christmas. I'm a long ago Christmas. What's the
- 29:35Speaker 9: day today? Let me it's eleventh. That's thirteen more days
- 29:40Speaker 9: of this two weeks. I can't take it. I don't
- 29:45Speaker 9: feel good. Yeah, it's overeating. It's these Christmas parties. You
- 29:49Speaker 9: just eat like crazy.
- 29:50Speaker 5: You know.
- 29:50Speaker 2: The good thing is today I'm walking around the whole
- 29:54Speaker 2: sixth floor here, there's no buffets anywhere, thank god. Today.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yesterday there were these buff face in front of Elvis
- 30:01Speaker 2: Durant studio. What that was the most incredible buffet Italian this,
- 30:06Speaker 2: and and then down there by Jim Kurr studio buffet
- 30:09Speaker 2: of these incredible cakes and pastries. This went on for miles.
- 30:14Speaker 2: That's in the morning. Then in the afternoon. Who's that buffet? Yesterday?
- 30:16Speaker 2: At lunch here that big another Italian yeah whatever that
- 30:20Speaker 2: was called?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Uh?
- 30:22Speaker 2: And then from that I leave and then I go
- 30:25Speaker 2: to all these Christmas parties. You know, they've got a
- 30:26Speaker 2: lot of afternoon Christmas parties. That's a big thing now,
- 30:29Speaker 2: afternoon Christmas parties. They're one of those. And then night.
- 30:32Speaker 2: The last Christmas party was Pea Pack which is one
- 30:35Speaker 2: of the most prestigious, finest private banks in America. You
- 30:41Speaker 2: hear them on w O r PA Pack Private Doug
- 30:45Speaker 2: Kennedy the chairman. What a great party that was. But
- 30:49Speaker 2: the food was amazing. Now I can't even move today,
- 30:54Speaker 2: So it's got to stop. It's got to stop these
- 30:57Speaker 2: Christmas parties. And then next week it gets any work
- 31:00Speaker 2: much worse. There's like three, four of them a day.
- 31:03Speaker 2: It's too much. It's too much. You've got to come
- 31:05Speaker 2: up with something besides food and parties. Hold the Christmas
- 31:09Speaker 2: party at a gym, no food, just gatorade or something
- 31:13Speaker 2: like that. It's tough to deal with. Hey, coming up,
- 31:15Speaker 2: you got to Buck and Clay at noon today with
- 31:19Speaker 2: a great show. Then you got the most listened to
- 31:21Speaker 2: radio show in America, Sean Hannity at three, Jesse Kelly
- 31:24Speaker 2: at six. Hey, Jimmy Faylor does a great show here
- 31:27Speaker 2: every night at nine o'clock. In fact, he'll be with us.
- 31:30Speaker 2: He'll be our guest here in the next hour on
- 31:33Speaker 2: seven to ten wor.
- 31:35Speaker 6: The Mark Simone Show continues on seventen WOR.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Whoa hey, So you got Tucker Carlson going nuts again?
- 31:47Speaker 2: What is he yelling about? Now? You know that Olivia Nuzzy,
- 31:49Speaker 2: that crazy reporter who was sexting and texting and with
- 31:54Speaker 2: the RFK Junior and the text came out. That was
- 31:56Speaker 2: a little bit of a scandal, And now you got
- 31:57Speaker 2: this crazy Tucker was all inn Israeli plot to take
- 32:01Speaker 2: down Trump. It was a deep state Israeli plot to
- 32:05Speaker 2: take down Donald Trump. So now, yeah, I was playing
- 32:08Speaker 2: this yesterday. You just got to forget about Tucker Carlson.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Just forget about it. You know, when you get fired,
- 32:14Speaker 2: you're not on a network, you don't have a real platform.
- 32:16Speaker 2: When you're producing a podcast out of your living room,
- 32:20Speaker 2: how do you get anybody to see it? You got
- 32:21Speaker 2: to get attention. So he's a very smart guy and
- 32:24Speaker 2: a very sophisticated guy, but he's saying these crazy outlandish things.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Megan Kelly the same thing, Candae Owens the same thing.
- 32:32Speaker 2: They don't work for anybody. They're out of work. They're
- 32:35Speaker 2: doing a show out of their house. So to get attention,
- 32:38Speaker 2: they say the craziest things to go viral, so they
- 32:41Speaker 2: want to be the new Alex Jones or whatever. Just
- 32:43Speaker 2: ignore them, just don't pay attention. Hey, Jimmy Fayalo will
- 32:47Speaker 2: be with us in the next hour. We've got a
- 32:48Speaker 2: lot to talk about. We'll get to it right after
- 32:51Speaker 2: the news on seven to ten w
