- 0:47Speaker 1: Heather McDonald. Juicy Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I have the juiciest interview with Holly and Bridget from
- 0:57Speaker 4: Girls Next Door with everything that's happened since all the
- 1:00Speaker 4: inside scoop.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You're going to die. It gets real real.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Before we get to that, I just want to cover
- 1:06Speaker 4: a follow up on the whole Alabama known as Bama Rush,
- 1:10Speaker 4: sorority rush. Out of Alabama, they had bid day, so
- 1:14Speaker 4: either the girls were cheering and were happy or they're
- 1:16Speaker 4: crying or they're transferring schools or they got their second choice.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It's done. It happened Sunday.
- 1:22Speaker 4: What broke on Friday is that my Annie, who was
- 1:26Speaker 4: a sorority girl, she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at
- 1:28Speaker 4: the University of Mississippi, texted me with some real juicy scoop.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And I go, get on it. I'm going to explain
- 1:35Speaker 4: this story as best I can. Okay, you tell me
- 1:37Speaker 4: how I do, Annie. So there were Apparently, there was
- 1:44Speaker 4: a suspicion that microphones were being sent in to record
- 1:48Speaker 4: conversations for HBO Max from Vice Studios that was supposedly
- 1:55Speaker 4: doing something with HBO Max. Now, when I first heard this,
- 1:58Speaker 4: I was like, okay, wait a minute. That means that
- 2:02Speaker 4: they had to find girls that were already enrolled in
- 2:06Speaker 4: Alabama who would be willing to put on a mic
- 2:09Speaker 4: and and go through Rush and send that recordings to
- 2:14Speaker 4: Vice Studios so they could either make a documentary, make
- 2:18Speaker 4: a scripted show.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm thinking, was it a mic? Could it have been
- 2:22Speaker 1: like a little body cam cop, like what a cop
- 2:25Speaker 1: would have? I don't know.
- 2:27Speaker 4: And I thought that was a little hard to do
- 2:29Speaker 4: because I'm like, you would have to find someone that
- 2:32Speaker 4: was willing to do this and possibly jeopardize their own
- 2:36Speaker 4: chance of being in a sorority. And I think if
- 2:39Speaker 4: if someone was a cute enough, cute type, not cute enough,
- 2:41Speaker 4: but a cute type of sorority type girl, and she's
- 2:44Speaker 4: going to a place like Alabama, which is a big
- 2:47Speaker 4: sorority fraternity place, most likely she would want to rush.
- 2:51Speaker 1: But they believe that this was happening and that.
- 2:54Speaker 4: This one girl, I saw her TikTok, she said she
- 2:57Speaker 4: got kicked out because she took a hair tie and
- 2:59Speaker 4: put it around her shirt. And they had heard this rumor,
- 3:02Speaker 4: the girls at Alabama, and they're like.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Oh, my God, you're a mole.
- 3:06Speaker 4: You're like a cop that's like, you know, you're miked
- 3:10Speaker 4: like the mafia.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Get the fuck out. Like, what happened? And they kick.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Her out, and she got dropped from Sorority Rush on
- 3:18Speaker 4: suspicion that she might have been, you know, a little
- 3:21Speaker 4: worker for HBO Max. Now, this one girl said her
- 3:25Speaker 4: name's Emily Limbaugh, and she's 23. She graduated from the
- 3:29Speaker 4: University of Alabama in August. She was an alpha fee there,
- 3:33Speaker 4: and she said she was contacted via Instagram DM by
- 3:37Speaker 4: a woman who identified herself as a producer from Vice
- 3:41Speaker 4: Studios working on a documentary for HBO Max, and she
- 3:46Speaker 4: thought it was super sketchy that the direct message came
- 3:49Speaker 4: from an unverified account with no profile pic, and the
- 3:53Speaker 4: account seems to have been deactivated. Now, the PNMs, what
- 3:57Speaker 4: is PNMs now? Oh, potential new member. We never called
- 4:01Speaker 4: them that. I think we just called them like rushies
- 4:03Speaker 4: or whatever. They were told not to post rush TikToks
- 4:10Speaker 4: and also, well, a little too late for that, also
- 4:13Speaker 4: not to talk to reporters if they came to the
- 4:15Speaker 4: school or else they'd be dropped from recruitment. Now, what
- 4:18Speaker 4: I thought was juicy on Friday is that Annie told
- 4:22Speaker 4: me that at University of Mississippi, she heard through the grapevine,
- 4:26Speaker 4: that the sorority girls there that were doing Rush, maybe
- 4:29Speaker 4: they were a little.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Bit behind Bama. We don't do it until next week.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Okay, so they're starting next week, and this is their
- 4:35Speaker 4: work week, meaning they get all their stuff together to
- 4:39Speaker 4: give the greatest show and get the best girls. And
- 4:42Speaker 4: they heard about this, and they were having people come
- 4:46Speaker 4: in and teach them how to spot a girl who
- 4:50Speaker 4: might have a mic or be mic'd. So here's what
- 4:54Speaker 4: I'm thinking. Whether this is true or not, I think
- 4:58Speaker 4: it's a juicy story to make a whole nother scripted
- 5:00Speaker 4: movie about someone wanting to do a documentary about sorority rush.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Maybe the girl's like a little genius and her mom's
- 5:11Speaker 4: in entertainment and the two of them are like, you
- 5:13Speaker 4: know what? We're going to make it in Hollywood. You're
- 5:15Speaker 4: going to go and act like you're going to get
- 5:19Speaker 4: into Alabama. You're going to act like you're into this.
- 5:21Speaker 4: And you're going to do a whole year as a
- 5:23Speaker 4: mole and you're going to be collecting stories and you're
- 5:26Speaker 4: going to be doing secret recordings and writing in your
- 5:28Speaker 4: notes section and recording people and all this stuff. And
- 5:32Speaker 4: then like at the end, the girls, she really ends
- 5:35Speaker 4: up loving the girls. She was out there going to
- 5:37Speaker 4: come and be like, these girls are awful people.
- 5:39Speaker 1: This is a, you know, an old fashioned, awful people
- 5:43Speaker 1: place for pretty people who are mean.
- 5:45Speaker 4: And then in the end, she realizes they're all really
- 5:48Speaker 4: lovely and they all really care about each other.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And then she's like, I don't know what to do.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Hollywood's calling and my mom and we're about to like
- 5:57Speaker 4: sell this big thing to Netflix. And I'm going to
- 5:59Speaker 4: be like the next little girl version of Steven Spielberg.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Or I.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Found a boy I like and a sisterhood I love.
- 6:10Speaker 1: There you go. There you go.
- 6:12Speaker 4: You'll be watching it while getting your hair dried out
- 6:14Speaker 4: at the dry bar in about six years from now.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Very juicy.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Okay, you guys, I hope you have gone to HeatherMcDonald.net.

- 6:41Speaker 1: to Juicy Scoop. I'm very excited.
- 6:43Speaker 4: I have lots of questions for my two fabulous guests.
- 6:46Speaker 4: It's Holly and Bridget, known best from The Girls Next Door.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Now you guys are back because I'm very excited about
- 6:52Speaker 4: your new show.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Thank you. I'm going to watch back the.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Episodes together and let us know what's real, what's not,
- 6:59Speaker 4: what was happening in your brain, what was being portrayed.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Very excited. Welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a new podcast. It's called Girls Next Level.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And we will be going back and watching all the
- 7:09Speaker 2: episodes and letting everybody know what was real and what
- 7:11Speaker 2: was fake and all the drama behind the scenes and everything.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So there's a lot to get into.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So, I mean, I'm up.
- 7:18Speaker 4: I've had you on the show before, you know, and
- 7:22Speaker 4: I've never met you, Bridget. I watched the show in
- 7:25Speaker 4: the heyday of E!
- 7:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 4: And, you know, being on Chelsea lately, we would, like,
- 7:31Speaker 4: follow it and discuss it a lot.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I actually remember the first time I was even introduced
- 7:36Speaker 4: to you. I was listening to a radio, regular radio show.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I was driving around at night. I don't know what
- 7:42Speaker 4: the show was, but they're like, and we're talking to Holly,
- 7:45Speaker 4: who's Hef's girlfriend.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And this was before the show.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 4: And I was like, and the way you like told
- 7:53Speaker 4: the story of like, oh, I was just at the pool.
- 7:55Speaker 1: One day or something. And he started to talk to like,
- 7:58Speaker 1: what is the story? How did you meet Hef?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Well, I had been invited to the parties at the mansion.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I was doing a Hawaiian tropics thing and like Hef's
- 8:06Speaker 2: doctor went there and he wanted to invite all the
- 8:09Speaker 2: girls from the contest to the mansion, like put them
- 8:12Speaker 2: on the list for the party. And I was so
- 8:14Speaker 2: excited because back then those parties were like the hottest
- 8:17Speaker 2: ticket in town and not just anybody could get in.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So I was super excited. And from there I got in.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I know, but you're cool. I would go to the party.
- 8:25Speaker 1: It was a fun experience.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Cool thing to do. And it was like Hollywood elite
- 8:31Speaker 4: and it was gorgeous. And, and I never saw anything
- 8:35Speaker 4: creepy when I was there at those parties. And that
- 8:37Speaker 4: was the end of nineties.
- 8:39Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Early 2000s.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Or I just was too focused on the free lamb chops. Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 4: So you're at the, you're at the, the, at the
- 8:48Speaker 4: mansion for the, as a hot tropic girl.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Or just like a random girl. Yeah. Random girl
- 8:53Speaker 1: who got invited. Just a pretty girl.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And from there, I got put on the list to
- 8:57Speaker 2: go to the pool parties they would have every Sunday.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And that was like a smaller, more intimate group. And
- 9:02Speaker 2: I would go to those every Sunday and like make
- 9:04Speaker 2: friends there. And everybody just seemed so nice, all of
- 9:07Speaker 2: his friends. And after a while, that kind of started
- 9:09Speaker 2: to feel like a community I was a part of
- 9:11Speaker 2: a little bit. And then I got into a place
- 9:13Speaker 2: in my life where I had nowhere to live, like
- 9:15Speaker 2: just all this crazy stuff had happened in my life.
- 9:17Speaker 2: And I was like, you know what? He has a
- 9:19Speaker 2: spot open as one.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Of his girlfriends. So maybe I should move in here.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Like it didn't, it sounds crazy, but it didn't feel
- 9:24Speaker 2: like that much of a stretch to me.
- 9:26Speaker 1: At the time for me.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And at that time when you said he has a
- 9:29Speaker 4: spot open, had you guys already been intimate at least once?
- 9:33Speaker 2: No, what had happened is I'd been invited to go
- 9:35Speaker 2: out with them a few times. So I always kind
- 9:37Speaker 2: of thought in the back of my head, like, oh,
- 9:38Speaker 2: maybe if I wanted to be a girlfriend, maybe it
- 9:40Speaker 2: could be an option. But it wasn't really anything I
- 9:43Speaker 2: thought I would do or ever have the balls to
- 9:45Speaker 2: do if I wasn't kind of like desperate for a
- 9:47Speaker 2: place to live. So I approached him and I was like, oh,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'd love to go out with you guys maybe this
- 9:52Speaker 2: week or something. And he was like, OK, well, I'll
- 9:54Speaker 2: have my secretary call you. And it just happened from there.
- 9:56Speaker 1: OK, so then, you know, we kind of.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Of know from the show and stuff that you got
- 10:02Speaker 4: to bone him. You got to bone him with the
- 10:05Speaker 4: other girls. And once that happened, then were you just like, well.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I guess I'll make the best of this. And then absolutely.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Once you've gone.
- 10:14Speaker 3: That far, it's like I'm going to stick around for this.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Like I put like I compromise that, you know.
- 10:19Speaker 4: How did you meet him? And like where did the
- 10:21Speaker 4: years collide where you guys met? Before the show started.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Well, you moved in and started coming out with half,
- 10:27Speaker 2: maybe like nine months after I moved in.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Okay. So it was pretty close.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And what was your story? Were you like just a
- 10:33Speaker 4: cute girl at the parties or what happened?
- 10:34Speaker 3: Well, I had met him way before I had tested
- 10:38Speaker 3: for a Playmate. They brought me out to the mansion
- 10:40Speaker 3: and did like the full test and everything. So I
- 10:43Speaker 3: had spent like three days there and I met him.
- 10:45Speaker 3: And then... I didn't get it. I didn't find out
- 10:48Speaker 3: for a year and a half that I didn't get it.
- 10:50Speaker 3: And I never went back to the mansion in that
- 10:51Speaker 3: time because I didn't know I could.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And were you living in L.A. that time?
- 10:54Speaker 3: No, I was living in Northern California.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Desperately wanting to be in L.A. and wishing I could
- 11:00Speaker 3: go to the parties and like be a part of
- 11:02Speaker 3: all of that kind of thing. And then one day
- 11:05Speaker 3: somebody told me, oh, you know, if you tested before,
- 11:08Speaker 3: you could go to the parties. And I was like, wait, what?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Like I missed out a year and a half. I did.
- 11:13Speaker 6: I did.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I did.
- 11:15Speaker 3: And some of the best years of Playboy parties, too,
- 11:17Speaker 3: because I tested at the end of 98. So like
- 11:20Speaker 3: 99 and 2000, like those are the parties I was missing.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You missed me.
- 11:24Speaker 3: The prime. The prime time.
- 11:27Speaker 4: So then people know the story, but I got married
- 11:30Speaker 4: and I got invited to the New Year's Eve party,
- 11:33Speaker 4: which was 2000. And it was when we had the
- 11:36Speaker 4: seven girlfriends. And so I called RSVP. And normally I'd
- 11:41Speaker 4: bring a girlfriend that then I'd have to send in
- 11:43Speaker 4: her photo or whatever. But if I had a girlfriend
- 11:44Speaker 4: that was already approved, then she could come with me
- 11:46Speaker 4: every time. And I was like, well, now I'd like
- 11:48Speaker 4: to have a different guest this time.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It's my husband. And he's really cool. And they're like, uh, what? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 1: This is a singles party. It just hung up on me.
- 11:59Speaker 1: And I was never invited again. Oh, my God. And
- 12:02Speaker 1: I was like, so bummed. Because honestly, my husband's the
- 12:04Speaker 1: most non-jealous person in the world.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And I don't know if I would have spent New
- 12:07Speaker 1: Year's Eve without him. But like.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I could have gone to the one in April or
- 12:11Speaker 4: Halloween or whatever. He wouldn't have cared with a girlfriend.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Because I was in the business and it was like, whatever,
- 12:16Speaker 4: get some.
- 12:16Speaker 1: So... Anyway, continue. So you missed me at the parties.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I missed the parties.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So you start coming down.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I start coming down. The first party I get
- 12:24Speaker 3: invited to is Midsommars of 2000, which was incredible and amazing.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And then I just really had the bug. Like, I
- 12:32Speaker 3: really want to be here. I really want to be
- 12:33Speaker 3: doing this. I finally just like took my savings and
- 12:35Speaker 3: moved to L.A. and was able through, you know, the
- 12:38Speaker 3: contacts to just be able to come to Fun in
- 12:40Speaker 3: the Sun and Buffet Dinner and Movie and have called
- 12:43Speaker 3: one time in March and asked me if I wanted
- 12:46Speaker 3: to go out with him and the girls, and I
- 12:47Speaker 3: was like, oh, no. I've heard stories about what goes on,
- 12:51Speaker 3: and no. Oh, you said no?
- 12:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I just really want to be a playmate. That's why
- 12:57Speaker 3: I'm here, doing stuff for the entertainment industry. I had
- 13:01Speaker 3: a broadcast journalism communications degree. So I was auditioning for
- 13:05Speaker 3: things and I wanted to be a playmate. But being
- 13:08Speaker 3: a girlfriend or going out, like, no, that's not what
- 13:10Speaker 3: I had in mind here. And he was very gracious
- 13:13Speaker 3: and nice about it. And everything was fine. Then a
- 13:17Speaker 3: couple months later, I was like, you know what? Like
- 13:19Speaker 3: nothing had moved in my life really. And I thought,
- 13:22Speaker 3: what do I have to lose? Like this, I could
- 13:24Speaker 3: be missing out on some really cool opportunities. I was
- 13:26Speaker 3: watching other girls kind of come and go and all
- 13:28Speaker 3: the fun they were having going out. And I thought,
- 13:30Speaker 3: why am I like not letting myself do this?
- 13:33Speaker 4: So when you're thinking that, are you like, all right,
- 13:37Speaker 4: I'm just going to have to hop on and count
- 13:39Speaker 4: to 11 and let this be over?
- 13:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if it was that long.
- 13:46Speaker 1: How do you just.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Gear yourself and be like, all right, I am going
- 13:49Speaker 4: to do this thing, which is not something... I'm super
- 13:52Speaker 4: excited to be, but like, who really care? Like, how
- 13:55Speaker 4: do you justify it in your mind of like, you've
- 13:58Speaker 4: been a pretty girl that's probably always had somewhat age
- 14:00Speaker 4: appropriate boyfriends. And now you're going to go and be
- 14:03Speaker 4: with this really older guy. You're going to share them
- 14:04Speaker 4: with people, but like, Thank God you're sharing them with people.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Like I'm almost thinking like where do you justify it?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Sort of.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I sort of have that in mind. But I was
- 14:12Speaker 3: also thinking that I could get out of this for
- 14:14Speaker 3: a little while. Like the first night I was like
- 14:16Speaker 3: I'm not ready yet. So I'm just going to like
- 14:18Speaker 3: kind of check it out and see what's going on.
- 14:20Speaker 3: But I'm not going to do anything I don't want
- 14:21Speaker 3: to do.
- 14:23Speaker 1: That's what I thought too. I never thought I would.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Necessarily have to go the first night or be the
- 14:27Speaker 2: first one the first night like yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 3: And it's not like I never would have done it
- 14:31Speaker 3: with him but I wasn't ready at that moment but
- 14:35Speaker 3: there's other girls that put pressure on you like she
- 14:39Speaker 3: straight up told me you'll never be invited back if
- 14:41Speaker 3: you don't do this tonight So then it's like you've
- 14:45Speaker 3: put in all this time and all this effort and
- 14:47Speaker 3: you've had such a great night. Like it's really fun
- 14:49Speaker 3: going out with Hef and stuff. And you think, wait,
- 14:51Speaker 3: do I want this all to end like right now?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Plus you've been drinking. Plus you're tired.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you're wasted. That's step one.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Everybody else is doing it. And are you guys.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Just drinking or are you partaking in some other stuff too?
- 15:04Speaker 2: I was just drinking, but I drank a lot. I
- 15:06Speaker 2: was just so nervous that first night that I was
- 15:08Speaker 2: just down in them all night.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Yeah. What was your drink of choice?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Well, this was 2001, so it was vodka cranberry.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Absolutely. Still a great drink.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, there's nothing wrong with that drink.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Full of hidden sugar, so I wouldn't drink it now.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You just did the splash now. Splash of cranberry, vodka soda.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Vodka water. Vodka club soda, yeah. Or whatever, Perrier.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah. For me, just alcohol as well. I was offered
- 15:38Speaker 3: the Quaalude. But I was like, no, I don't even know.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Like I'd never done.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Anything like that. And quaalids were like not around.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Like quaalids were to me, I heard about quaalids like
- 15:49Speaker 4: in the 80s and like 70s.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You hear about them past tense.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Like it wasn't like none of our friends were doing
- 15:57Speaker 4: it or, you know, like, so I was like, that
- 15:58Speaker 4: must have been kind of weird.
- 15:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It was definitely weird. Like, I knew what it was,
- 16:02Speaker 2: but I have to imagine a lot of girls my
- 16:05Speaker 2: age back then probably didn't know what it was. Like,
- 16:07Speaker 2: Wolf of Wall Street wasn't even out then. We didn't
- 16:08Speaker 2: even have, like, that cultural touchstone to know, like, what
- 16:10Speaker 2: a Quaalude does or anything.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I had no idea what it was, but I just
- 16:14Speaker 3: was like, I've never done anything like that. So I
- 16:16Speaker 3: was like, no. You know, I mean, I just drank
- 16:20Speaker 3: and I smoked a little bit of pot in my past.
- 16:22Speaker 3: That's the extent of what I had done. So I
- 16:25Speaker 3: wasn't interested in doing that. But I got in trouble
- 16:27Speaker 3: from the other girls for declining it.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You mean they were just pissed?
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they were like, don't decline it or he'll quit
- 16:32Speaker 3: giving it to us.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Oh, don't decline the Quaalude. I thought you meant the dick.
- 16:37Speaker 3: No.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I was like, are you sure?
- 16:40Speaker 3: Everybody would have been excited about that. No, the Quaalude.
- 16:47Speaker 3: And so in the future, I would accept it and
- 16:50Speaker 3: just throw it in my purse.
- 16:51Speaker 4: And do you think the girls wanted it just because, again,
- 16:54Speaker 4: it just made the whole process just less memorable for them?
- 16:58Speaker 1: That's what I'm wondering.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Either they wanted it to take it or maybe they were, like,
- 17:01Speaker 2: hoarding it and selling it.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I have no idea. I have no idea either.
- 17:04Speaker 2: They kept wanting to get the Quaaludes, but apparently it
- 17:06Speaker 2: was a thing.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 3: You know what? And at some point, the Quaaludes just stopped,
- 17:10Speaker 3: and I don't even know when that was or why
- 17:12Speaker 3: that was or anything.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I feel like it was around, like, 2003, 2004. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: feel like it's because we didn't have a girl in
- 17:18Speaker 2: the group who was, like, a recruiter anymore. A recruiter
- 17:22Speaker 2: that would get new girls to come in? Yeah, like
- 17:24Speaker 2: a Ghislaine Maxwell type person.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And you feel like the.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Recruiting and getting the new people again was, like— Taking
- 17:31Speaker 4: the heat off of you to sexually satisfy him.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 2: And she has more value in the group because he
- 17:38Speaker 2: knows she recruits girls.
- 17:41Speaker 4: And when someone recruits somebody, like, how do you sell
- 17:44Speaker 4: me on it? Like, let's say I'm the cute girl
- 17:47Speaker 4: at the party and Hef's like, she's attractive.
- 17:50Speaker 1: And he says it to the recruiter.
- 17:52Speaker 4: How does the recruiter, like, then come to me, like,
- 17:54Speaker 4: and we just, like, role play, like, to get me
- 17:57Speaker 4: to be, like, feel me out to see if I'm
- 17:59Speaker 4: interested and if I'd be, like, a good, cool person
- 18:02Speaker 4: to hang?
- 18:02Speaker 1: Like, what do you say to me?
- 18:03Speaker 2: I mean, she was a really fun person with, like,
- 18:05Speaker 2: a fun personality. So she could easily just go up
- 18:08Speaker 2: to anybody and be like, oh, hey.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Want to drink? Want to hang out? Blah, blah, blah.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And then it just escalates from there after somebody's been drinking.
- 18:13Speaker 3: When you offer somebody to come behind the velvet ropes
- 18:16Speaker 3: and drink for free with your unlimited bottle service and
- 18:20Speaker 3: dancing with hats.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Oh, at a club, you mean.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, at a club or at a party.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Okay, or at a Playboy party.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yeah, like it's really– it's exciting and it's fun and
- 18:29Speaker 3: you're behind the velvet ropes and everybody's looking in and
- 18:32Speaker 3: you're like one of those people that are there, like
- 18:35Speaker 3: VIP and stuff. So I feel like it would be
- 18:36Speaker 3: a pretty easy sell.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And do you want to come back to the Playboy
- 18:39Speaker 3: Mansion with us?
- 18:41Speaker 4: I also think when you– When you're not used to
- 18:44Speaker 4: getting attention like that at a nightclub where people are like, oh,
- 18:48Speaker 4: my God, it's happened to girlfriends. That's like makes the
- 18:51Speaker 4: night 10 times more fun than if you were just
- 18:53Speaker 4: with your other pretty girlfriends.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Going out to a nightclub. Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 4: You know, because it's like you're a star, you know,
- 18:59Speaker 4: and you get that. Celebrity and everyone's so much nicer
- 19:01Speaker 4: to you.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You know, people want to see you. And, like, yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Nobody checks your ID when you walk in.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Yeah, we talk about this on the podcast, too. Like,
- 19:09Speaker 3: the C's just part when you walk into the club
- 19:11Speaker 3: and everybody's in awe.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Here comes Hef and this gaggle of girlfriends, like, all
- 19:17Speaker 3: walking single file to this roped-off area.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 19:21Speaker 3: This roped-off area with, like, you know, five, six security
- 19:25Speaker 3: people standing all around it.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 4: So you go out that night. You go, I guess
- 19:33Speaker 4: I have to take my turn.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yeah. And then once it's over.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Well, I didn't say, oh, I guess I have to
- 19:41Speaker 3: take my turn. I was still just gonna watch okay
- 19:44Speaker 3: and then um and then she was like aren't you
- 19:47Speaker 3: gonna that same girl was like aren't you gonna go
- 19:49Speaker 3: it's like you need to go and I was like
- 19:51Speaker 3: I would rather not and she's like well then probably
- 19:54Speaker 3: won't be invited back so then I was like okay
- 19:57Speaker 3: and I'd seen what everybody else was doing so I
- 19:59Speaker 3: knew that this was like a 10 second thing okay
- 20:03Speaker 3: I mean definitely no more than a minute oh okay
- 20:05Speaker 3: would you say.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I mean, my mouth is cloudy. I've kind of blocked it.
- 20:09Speaker 1: But yeah, I would say you're right. It's short. Right.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Everybody's very encouraging.
- 20:14Speaker 1: It's purely teamwork. It is.
- 20:16Speaker 3: It actually is. Everyone is very encouraging.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Everyone's just like, we all have to do this together. So, yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 20:26Speaker 1: for it?
- 20:26Speaker 3: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with.
- 20:29Speaker 1: They have more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You have to put me in touch.
- 20:33Speaker 6: What's it called?
- 20:34Speaker 1: It's Dune ADL. Where? Dunaidial. There's an accent on the E.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Do you mean... Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Lift?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Please. Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage. No. Dundale Cars.
- 20:50Speaker 5: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 20:53Speaker 6: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 20:57Speaker 6: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 21:00Speaker 6: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 21:04Speaker 6: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 21:12Speaker 1: filed against me.
- 21:13Speaker 3: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 21:15Speaker 3: what would you do if it was given back?
- 21:18Speaker 6: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 21:21Speaker 6: you had to succeed in order to feel loved? He said,
- 21:23Speaker 6: I have a work dad.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I need a home dad. What happens next?
- 21:26Speaker 3: When I came in, he started crying.
- 21:28Speaker 6: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 21:33Speaker 6: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 21:35Speaker 6: happens next.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I decided to risk it all.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You're worth the work.
- 21:41Speaker 5: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 21:43Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 21:45Speaker 6: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 21:59Speaker 4: And is it like, I don't want to be the first,
- 22:02Speaker 4: I don't want to be the last, is number three
- 22:03Speaker 4: the best? If everyone's doing it, is there a time
- 22:08Speaker 4: that you'd rather do it or not?
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Oh, for me there was.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I felt like everybody was just trying to get it
- 22:15Speaker 2: done as quickly as possible, like the whole process.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Well, once after that first night, like when I tried
- 22:21Speaker 3: not to do it after that, I wanted to be
- 22:23Speaker 3: first because there was no way I wanted going after
- 22:25Speaker 3: other people.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Because that was the other thing is they said it
- 22:28Speaker 4: was it was no condoms. So you all could possibly
- 22:32Speaker 4: have spread something.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Unintentionally.
- 22:36Speaker 3: You were hoping everyone's in the same situation.
- 22:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 3: And there is a doctor on staff and you're hoping
- 22:41Speaker 3: everybody is being checked out and everybody's being I say
- 22:44Speaker 3: this in quotes monogamous to that relationship.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Right. But.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You don't know.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:50Speaker 3: And if there's new girls coming up, which there often
- 22:52Speaker 3: were like, I just wanted to be first and be done.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And that I felt like that was the cleanest way
- 23:00Speaker 3: to be in and.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Out of it.
- 23:01Speaker 4: So then how long were you guys both living in
- 23:04Speaker 4: the house together and being part of one? Like how
- 23:07Speaker 4: many girls were there when this opportunity came up to like, hey,
- 23:12Speaker 4: we've been approached to possibly do a reality show.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And how did that all come about? How did they
- 23:15Speaker 1: sell it to you? What was you.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It wasn't like that at all. Okay.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Well, we both lived there for about seven years total.
- 23:23Speaker 6: Okay.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And there was a constant turnover of the other women.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And Bridget and I had lived there for about three years,
- 23:29Speaker 2: I think, before Hef kicked everybody else out and Kendra
- 23:32Speaker 2: moved in. And then it became just three of us
- 23:34Speaker 2: rather than seven.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Which was a big relief because there was a lot
- 23:37Speaker 2: less drama. And did you always get to have your
- 23:39Speaker 2: own bedroom? No, I had to share with Hef and
- 23:42Speaker 2: I had zero privacy ever. I asked him if I
- 23:45Speaker 2: could have another room down the hall and he always
- 23:46Speaker 2: said no. But there were constantly like secretaries walking in
- 23:49Speaker 2: and out of his room all day.
- 23:51Speaker 4: And when did you get chosen to be the girl
- 23:53Speaker 4: that lives in the room? And at that time you
- 23:57Speaker 4: were like, I guess, into it as far as being
- 24:00Speaker 4: like the number one girl.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Like how did that come about?
- 24:04Speaker 2: I moved into his room about six months after I
- 24:07Speaker 2: moved in. But we started talking about it almost immediately
- 24:10Speaker 2: after I moved in. Because I moved in and I
- 24:12Speaker 2: was kind of the one girl who liked to stay
- 24:14Speaker 2: at home and liked to go to the buffet dinners
- 24:16Speaker 2: and liked to watch the old movies and stuff. And
- 24:19Speaker 2: everybody else who had been there did not want to
- 24:22Speaker 2: be the main girlfriend because they know, like, you have
- 24:23Speaker 2: to share a room. You're under the microscope. Like, you
- 24:26Speaker 2: just can't kind of go off and do your own
- 24:27Speaker 2: thing as much. So everybody was like, oh, I think
- 24:30Speaker 2: you're going to be Hef's new girlfriend. And I had
- 24:32Speaker 2: never thought that would be me because I was the
- 24:34Speaker 2: youngest in the group. And from what I had seen before,
- 24:36Speaker 2: I kind of always assumed the main girlfriend had to
- 24:38Speaker 2: be the oldest for whatever reason, just because she had
- 24:41Speaker 2: been before.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But I was flattered by it. And where did that
- 24:43Speaker 1: girl go?
- 24:43Speaker 4: Like, where did that one she left and then you
- 24:45Speaker 4: were being chosen to take her place? Like, how much
- 24:47Speaker 4: time was in between and how did that girl feel
- 24:50Speaker 4: and why did she choose to leave at that time?
- 24:52Speaker 2: Well, I think the reason she wanted to be there
- 24:55Speaker 2: at all was because she wanted a centerfold in the magazine.
- 24:57Speaker 2: So when her centerfold came out, she left.
- 25:00Speaker 1: So I don't think she cared. So she got her centerfold.
- 25:01Speaker 1: So she wanted somebody to take her place, yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 4: And she wanted that centerfold because at that time it
- 25:05Speaker 4: was such great publicity and it was such a great
- 25:08Speaker 4: launching pad for, acting roles being that Pam Anderson and
- 25:12Speaker 4: that and you guys were after Jenny McCarthy yeah and
- 25:15Speaker 4: so like.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah we kind of grew up with that so we
- 25:17Speaker 2: thought being a playmate you could be like the next
- 25:20Speaker 2: Pamela Anderson or Anna Nicole Smith or somebody or.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Like an E! News reporter or whatever yeah yeah I
- 25:26Speaker 1: got it okay so that girl gets her centerfold it's
- 25:30Speaker 1: over she's like see ya.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Yeah she bails so she was happy somebody else was
- 25:33Speaker 2: moving in like there wasn't any like resistance she passed
- 25:36Speaker 2: the baton yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 1: So to speak totally.
- 25:39Speaker 4: So, and then, so then when that happened, you get
- 25:43Speaker 4: in the groove and from what, like, tell me, like,
- 25:47Speaker 4: then did you kind of just convince yourself that this was, like,
- 25:51Speaker 4: a normal thing and.
- 25:52Speaker 1: That it was okay? Or, like, when did you, did
- 25:55Speaker 1: you only recently realize, like, how fucked up it was?
- 25:59Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I always knew, obviously, that the situation
- 26:02Speaker 2: was so far from normal. But I think that was
- 26:04Speaker 2: part of why I was able to make excuses for, like,
- 26:06Speaker 2: his bad behavior in the relationship.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 26:08Speaker 2: How he treated me because I was already have the
- 26:12Speaker 2: mindset like, well, this isn't going to be ordinary. And
- 26:14Speaker 2: this is kind of like a different special situation. But
- 26:17Speaker 2: I would say I realized how messed up everything was
- 26:20Speaker 2: right when I decided to leave, which was like seven
- 26:22Speaker 2: years later. It's just because I kind of always blamed
- 26:25Speaker 2: all the problems on the other girls. Like, oh, there's
- 26:27Speaker 2: so much drama because we're all not getting along all,
- 26:30Speaker 2: you know, but Hef's the good guy, poor Hef. That
- 26:33Speaker 2: was kind of always my mindset the whole time. But
- 26:35Speaker 2: when Bridget and Kendra left and it was just going
- 26:37Speaker 2: to be me and him, he just started lashing out
- 26:39Speaker 2: at me so much and became really verbally abusive. And
- 26:42Speaker 2: I just realized like the girls were not the problem.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I mean, some of them were the problem. Some of
- 26:47Speaker 2: them weren't so nice, but they weren't the problem the
- 26:50Speaker 2: whole time.
- 26:50Speaker 1: He was the problem.
- 26:51Speaker 2: So then I left and I tried to like file
- 26:55Speaker 2: the experience away and just only think about the positive
- 26:58Speaker 2: things for a couple of years.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But After a while, I.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Would just look back on it like anytime I needed
- 27:03Speaker 2: to go like look at an old picture for reference
- 27:05Speaker 2: or something. And I would just see the fakest smile
- 27:08Speaker 2: on my face and just realize how miserable I was
- 27:10Speaker 2: the whole time. And I knew I was miserable when
- 27:13Speaker 2: I was there. It's just that I always blamed it
- 27:14Speaker 2: on the other girls. Like, we used to go out
- 27:16Speaker 2: to lunch, you know, so nobody would, like, eavesdrop on
- 27:19Speaker 2: us in the house.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Just the two of you?
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we would go to lunch and just talk about, like, oh,
- 27:22Speaker 2: my God, this is so miserable.
- 27:23Speaker 1: This is so rough. While you're filming and stuff? Well,
- 27:26Speaker 1: even before we were filming.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Because there was so much drama. So you had always
- 27:28Speaker 1: been friendly. Yeah, for sure. You were always good. We
- 27:30Speaker 1: were always close.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Oh, okay.
- 27:31Speaker 2: But I always thought, you know, if the other girls left,
- 27:33Speaker 2: things would be great.
- 27:34Speaker 1: That was kind of where my mindset was. Right. Until, like,
- 27:36Speaker 1: the last minute, and then I decided to leave.
- 27:38Speaker 4: You know what's interesting about it all, which I'm sure
- 27:40Speaker 4: you guys reflect, is when you watch documentaries on cults
- 27:46Speaker 4: and polygamy and polygamous cults and how you just.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Keep rationalizing.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and you just kind of think it like that.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Or even if you're in a work situation where there's
- 27:58Speaker 4: a boss that kind of sets the tone so that
- 28:04Speaker 4: the minions or whatever... actually start infighting where they go
- 28:09Speaker 4: to lunch and they start talking about everybody but the
- 28:13Speaker 4: boss who's actually creating this environment.
- 28:16Speaker 2: No it's purposeful because he never wanted all of us
- 28:18Speaker 2: to get together and be like you know what we
- 28:20Speaker 2: don't feel like going out tonight we just want to
- 28:22Speaker 2: stay in like he wouldn't want that he wanted us
- 28:25Speaker 2: competing against each other so we had to like go
- 28:28Speaker 2: along with what he wanted because everybody was trying to
- 28:29Speaker 2: one-up everybody.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Else right Okay, so now let's get to the play.
- 28:34Speaker 1: So you guys are friendly.
- 28:35Speaker 4: You're all living there with other people. You go out
- 28:39Speaker 4: one night a week or two nights a week. How
- 28:41Speaker 4: often are you like at a nightclub with a PR situation?
- 28:44Speaker 2: I'd say two nights a week.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Did it kind of calm?
- 28:47Speaker 2: No, we didn't stop going out until after the show
- 28:50Speaker 2: started filming. We were still going out two nights a week.
- 28:52Speaker 4: And because of that like PR situation, how did, I'm
- 28:56Speaker 4: assuming that's where someone got the idea of this is
- 29:00Speaker 4: a fabulous reality show.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Like, how did it come about?
- 29:05Speaker 2: Well, A & E originally wanted to do a show
- 29:07Speaker 2: because they were doing Growing Up Gotti at the time.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Yes, I remember that show.
- 29:09Speaker 2: So they wanted to do Growing Up Hefner about Hef's
- 29:12Speaker 2: two kids.
- 29:13Speaker 1: The boys. Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 2: And Hef was like, no, I don't want to do that. Like,
- 29:16Speaker 2: I'm not a PTA dad. Maybe they'll want to do
- 29:18Speaker 2: something else. So then the idea turned into let's do
- 29:21Speaker 2: a reality show about the staff at the mansion. So
- 29:23Speaker 2: they shot a pilot, which was supposed to be about
- 29:25Speaker 2: the staff at the mansion. We were in it a
- 29:27Speaker 2: little bit, but it was more so supposed to be
- 29:29Speaker 2: about the staff. A & E decided they didn't want it.
- 29:31Speaker 1: They took it to E. Oh, they didn't want to
- 29:32Speaker 1: do a whole thing about Mary?
- 29:33Speaker 3: No.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So they took it to E. Mary, the booking secretary
- 29:39Speaker 1: or whatever. the butlers and stuff.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Yeah, like prepping for parties. It was kind of like upstairs, downstairs.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Here's Hef and his girlfriends and all these party guests
- 29:46Speaker 3: and celebrities.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Like a Downton Abbey, but for the... Kind of, yeah.
- 29:49Speaker 3: And then here's the staff trying to cater.
- 29:52Speaker 1: To all their needs. Got it, okay. So they took
- 29:55Speaker 1: it to E.E.E.
- 29:55Speaker 5: E.E.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Wanted it, but.
- 29:57Speaker 2: An executive at E! said, I want it to be
- 29:59Speaker 2: about the girls, though. I want it to be through
- 30:00Speaker 2: their eyes.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Right, which is totally a smarter angle to go.
- 30:06Speaker 4: So then how is it presented that, like, we choose you?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Because at that time now it is just the three
- 30:12Speaker 1: of you living there. Yeah, three of us. Oh, so
- 30:14Speaker 1: there was no, like, casting choices. No. You were the three.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 6: Okay.
- 30:18Speaker 4: I was under the impression that there was, like, more
- 30:20Speaker 4: like five or six. And they found you guys. They
- 30:24Speaker 4: chose the three of you because you did have the
- 30:25Speaker 4: best personalities. To be the official girlfriends featured in the show.
- 30:30Speaker 1: No, it was already narrowed down to three. So that's
- 30:32Speaker 1: just what it was.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Oh, okay.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Okay. So how did they approach you? And were you nervous?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Or was this like a dream come true? Or what
- 30:39Speaker 1: was your thoughts? Well, we were not approached.
- 30:40Speaker 3: No.
- 30:41Speaker 1: We were just told. It was very much. We were
- 30:42Speaker 1: just told we were doing it.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Like the way we were treated was kind of like
- 30:45Speaker 2: the way a YouTube family will just throw their kids
- 30:47Speaker 2: on the YouTube.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Like you're here. You're doing this.
- 30:50Speaker 2: This is what you're doing. Like Hef even like walked
- 30:52Speaker 2: by me in the hall one morning and was like,
- 30:54Speaker 2: I've decided what your characters are going to be.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, okay.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Like, you know, we were just told you're doing this.
- 31:00Speaker 2: So unless we want to like move out and, like,
- 31:03Speaker 2: start a life.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Change your life. Yeah, exactly. You have to go along
- 31:05Speaker 1: with it.
- 31:06Speaker 3: And they basically told us that if you don't like it,
- 31:07Speaker 3: you know where the door is because there's lots of
- 31:09Speaker 3: people that would want your position.
- 31:10Speaker 1: They didn't pay us for the first season.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we weren't paid.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Like, they paid us.
- 31:13Speaker 2: When they ordered more episodes, they finally paid us, but they.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Didn't pay us. Very little. And what were they paying
- 31:18Speaker 1: you for the second season? Do you recall? I don't remember.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It was minimal, but it's not like I think I'm
- 31:21Speaker 2: this big star with huge bargaining power back then, but
- 31:24Speaker 2: I just wanted what was fair. Like, it was just, like,
- 31:26Speaker 2: a couple thousand bucks an episode or something.
- 31:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I don't even think we were getting that.
- 31:28Speaker 2: But just the fact that, Yeah, just the fact that
- 31:30Speaker 2: they didn't want to pay us anything and just expected
- 31:33Speaker 2: us to do it as.
- 31:34Speaker 1: The main characters of the show. So you just signed
- 31:36Speaker 1: a release. Yeah, just a release. No contracts. Okay, so.
- 31:40Speaker 4: And you're like, now they're coming in. They got the
- 31:43Speaker 4: mics on you. And that's when we get to see...
- 31:46Speaker 4: So at that time, it is on the show that
- 31:49Speaker 4: you share the room with Half and you're the main.
- 31:52Speaker 1: And you... I just kind of remember, like, you having
- 31:54Speaker 1: your room and you had, like, a little dog. Later on,
- 31:57Speaker 1: I got the dog, yeah. A lot of pink. Okay,
- 31:58Speaker 1: and then.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Which also, too, is, like, such, like, a thing that, like...
- 32:02Speaker 4: Such a 2000s reality TV trope. No, but, like, on
- 32:05Speaker 4: the dark side, like, a captive thing. Like, girls that are, like,
- 32:08Speaker 4: held captive. It's, like, all they want is, like, a
- 32:11Speaker 4: little dog.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Oh, I have four. You know what I mean? Like,
- 32:13Speaker 1: all they want is just, like, their little, like, personal friend. Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Because it's, like... So, you have your room, and then
- 32:21Speaker 1: Kendra has her room. Okay.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Now, what was your situation with your parents?
- 32:28Speaker 1: Were they excited about this?
- 32:30Speaker 4: Were they okay that you were living this unconventional half-life
- 32:34Speaker 4: in the hopes that you'd be a.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Pathway to a bigger entertainment career? What were their thoughts?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they were fine with me being at the mansion.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I didn't tell them any details of what was going on.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I just don't have that relationship with my parents where
- 32:47Speaker 2: I would ever talk about anything like intimate or anything
- 32:49Speaker 2: like that.
- 32:49Speaker 4: So before the show came out, they just thought you
- 32:51Speaker 4: were at the mansion as an aspiring model.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Well, as Hef's girlfriend. But I think a lot of people. Oh,
- 32:56Speaker 1: they knew that you were romantic with him.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Well, a lot of people back then thought it was
- 33:01Speaker 2: all publicity.
- 33:02Speaker 1: That it was fake.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Like, it was kind of like, I would say the public,
- 33:04Speaker 2: they were kind of split. Like, no way they're all
- 33:07Speaker 2: living there and not having sex. But also, no way.
- 33:09Speaker 1: He's 75. This is all fake. Totally true.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Because it was such a big part of his publicity.
- 33:14Speaker 4: And I think there's a lot of stuff throughout Hollywood
- 33:16Speaker 4: where you're like, even like Pete and Kim.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Great publicity stunt. I'm like, no. And they were definitely fucking.
- 33:22Speaker 1: But like, did it... Was that.
- 33:26Speaker 4: did that contribute to them staying together? Did that, was
- 33:28Speaker 4: that a nice aspect of it?
- 33:29Speaker 1: Probably.
- 33:30Speaker 4: But like, yeah, I think you're right with that. I
- 33:32Speaker 4: remember people always, that was like a discussion we'd have.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: All the time.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Any press I would do, they would ask, are you
- 33:38Speaker 3: sleeping with them? And if I said yes, they'd be like,
- 33:40Speaker 3: there's no way he's sleeping with all you young girls.
- 33:43Speaker 3: And then if I said no, they're like, there's no
- 33:44Speaker 3: way he's letting you girls stay there and you're not
- 33:46Speaker 3: sleeping with them. And I'm like, yeah, it doesn't, why
- 33:48Speaker 3: do I even bother answering this question?
- 33:49Speaker 1: That's so interesting. Yeah. Okay. So, so you tell, what
- 33:54Speaker 1: was your situation with your parents?
- 33:56Speaker 3: My parents were excited for me. They thought Playboy was
- 34:00Speaker 3: so cool, and they thought Hef was such a gentleman.
- 34:02Speaker 3: They came up and visited quite a bit. Like, they
- 34:04Speaker 3: were very excited about it.
- 34:05Speaker 4: So neither of your parents had, like, any problem with
- 34:08Speaker 4: the fact that you were, like, nude models?
- 34:11Speaker 2: No, you have to understand, like, I think both of
- 34:12Speaker 2: our parents come from the generation where, like, Playboy was, like,
- 34:16Speaker 2: The classiest magazine. Like, they remember growing up, they remember
- 34:19Speaker 2: hearing about the Playboy clubs were, like, this chic place
- 34:22Speaker 2: to be.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So they thought it was cool.
- 34:24Speaker 2: And I don't think we come from, like, super religious
- 34:26Speaker 2: families where they're, like, nudity. Like, yeah, it's kind of like, okay,
- 34:30Speaker 2: like when you come from a small town, but not, like,
- 34:32Speaker 2: a huge deal.
- 34:34Speaker 4: But with the, on the secrets of Playboy, which I
- 34:36Speaker 4: thought was interesting, is that, like, then the fact, like,
- 34:39Speaker 4: just how you guys signed that release for the show,
- 34:41Speaker 4: that I thought that was so awful that these girls
- 34:45Speaker 4: did photo shoots and things with 1200 photos.
- 34:48Speaker 1: And then like.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Years later, those photos were being used and people were
- 34:52Speaker 4: profiting off of them and they weren't.
- 34:55Speaker 1: And you're like, Oh yeah, I guess that would happen.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And as an actress and.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Stuff, cause you know, I, I, people don't understand how
- 35:03Speaker 4: hard it was like for us, you know, like to
- 35:06Speaker 4: get an agent and to do all this. And you,
- 35:08Speaker 4: you're like, yeah, if, if I say no, if I,
- 35:11Speaker 4: then I'm deemed difficult and like, better that I just say, okay.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:15Speaker 4: You know, and like, at least I have a chance
- 35:17Speaker 4: if I act like, no, it's like, so of course,
- 35:21Speaker 4: and what's like a young 21 year old going to
- 35:23Speaker 4: know about contracts and, uh, you know, do you have,
- 35:26Speaker 4: do you own the intellectual property and.
- 35:28Speaker 1: All this kind of stuff? So yeah, that's crazy.
- 35:32Speaker 4: So when the show, so then when the show started,
- 35:34Speaker 4: when it first aired, was it, how immediate was it
- 35:37Speaker 4: that you guys, um, started to, like notice how popular
- 35:41Speaker 4: it was and then it was like kind of life-changing?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Well, we knew it was popular because they would tell
- 35:46Speaker 2: us that the ratings were so great. Like every morning
- 35:48Speaker 2: after an episode would air, you know, there would be
- 35:51Speaker 2: like these mailboxes downstairs and they'd put a slip of
- 35:53Speaker 2: paper in Hef's mailbox and it would say what the
- 35:55Speaker 2: ratings were. So they always checked on that. So I
- 35:57Speaker 2: knew it was a hit and I knew what like
- 35:58Speaker 2: E's standard of a.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Good rating was.
- 36:00Speaker 2: But we didn't ever feel, I think, like extra famous
- 36:03Speaker 2: or anything while we were there because we always lived
- 36:05Speaker 2: in this bubble where we were so much in Hef's
- 36:07Speaker 2: shadow that That nothing really changed. Like, yeah, when we
- 36:11Speaker 2: went out, a few people like knew our names and stuff,
- 36:13Speaker 2: but we just still kind of felt like we were
- 36:15Speaker 2: in health shadow. It just wasn't really that big of
- 36:17Speaker 2: a change for us, I think. I think the worst
- 36:19Speaker 2: part was. all of a sudden you're being talked shit
- 36:23Speaker 2: about online. And this was back in like the early
- 36:25Speaker 2: days of like message boards and stuff. I didn't know
- 36:28Speaker 2: everybody in the public I got talked shit about.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I thought it was just us.
- 36:32Speaker 2: And I was like, oh my God, everybody hates us.
- 36:33Speaker 5: This is the worst.
- 36:34Speaker 1: It was like rough.
- 36:35Speaker 3: The e-message boards were rough.
- 36:36Speaker 1: The e-message boards were disgusting. What would they say that
- 36:39Speaker 1: was so mean?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Just, I mean, probably nothing that would be considered novel now,
- 36:43Speaker 2: but just like gross stuff.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Like, oh my God, these whores. And they're so disgusting.
- 36:46Speaker 3: And whores and just, you know, I mean, just everything
- 36:49Speaker 3: you could think of that they would say they said.
- 36:51Speaker 4: And so now during that time, are all three of
- 36:55Speaker 4: you still having regular sex with him?
- 36:58Speaker 1: It stopped at some point.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Because the thing with him was the thing that kind
- 37:03Speaker 2: of drove him before was he was high off of
- 37:06Speaker 2: all like the attention of going out with like the
- 37:09Speaker 2: seven girlfriends and constantly trying to get new people upstairs constantly.
- 37:12Speaker 2: But then when the show came along, he loved the show,
- 37:15Speaker 2: obsessed with the show. It was such a big ego
- 37:18Speaker 2: boost for him that he didn't really care about going
- 37:20Speaker 2: out or trying to get new people to sleep with
- 37:21Speaker 2: him anymore.
- 37:22Speaker 1: So everything really just calmed down.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Yeah, he was just kind of set with the way
- 37:25Speaker 3: things were.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So things changed a lot across the board.
- 37:28Speaker 4: So you weren't bringing anyone new, but did the three
- 37:31Speaker 4: of you still have to bone him regularly?
- 37:33Speaker 1: No, it stopped after a while. So did you have
- 37:36Speaker 1: to bone him, Holly, regularly?
- 37:37Speaker 2: No, that stopped after a while. Because I started working
- 37:40Speaker 2: at the Playboy studio, too.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 37:41Speaker 2: And I had to be up, like, at the studio
- 37:43Speaker 2: at 8, leave the house at 7.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Because you'd work in helping build the magazine. Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 2: So I would go to bed even before he would
- 37:49Speaker 2: go to sleep.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 3: There were a couple of times he would say, like, oh,
- 37:55Speaker 3: maybe we should all– and Kendra and I would look
- 37:57Speaker 3: at each other and be like, no, we got– we're busy.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Oh, we got to be up early. We're good. He
- 38:01Speaker 1: would say, maybe we all go out again or whatever?
- 38:03Speaker 3: Well, like, he would say, like, maybe we should have
- 38:06Speaker 3: a picnic in the bedroom or something like that. Watch
- 38:09Speaker 3: a movie together or something. And Kendra and I would
- 38:11Speaker 3: be like– Oh, yeah. I've got that interview early in
- 38:14Speaker 3: the morning.
- 38:15Speaker 1: No, not tonight.
- 38:16Speaker 4: And so did you ever like the two of you
- 38:18Speaker 4: go out and be like, isn't this great that we
- 38:20Speaker 4: don't have to fuck them anymore?
- 38:21Speaker 1: This is wonderful.
- 38:23Speaker 4: I'm loving that we like get to be on TV
- 38:25Speaker 4: and like just kind of have a more independent life or?
- 38:28Speaker 2: I don't remember having that conversation.
- 38:29Speaker 1: No, I don't remember ever.
- 38:31Speaker 2: But it's something that we wouldn't have.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Even had to. I'll have a Chinese chicken salad. Ed,
- 38:34Speaker 1: isn't this great? And we don't have to vote. Well,
- 38:37Speaker 1: we were just like, isn't it great?
- 38:38Speaker 2: We don't have to deal with the drama with all
- 38:40Speaker 2: those other girls. That was more the thing that was
- 38:43Speaker 2: like on my mind and like the big deal. And
- 38:45Speaker 2: we were just so grateful that it was just the
- 38:46Speaker 2: three of us and that we got along pretty well.
- 38:49Speaker 2: We had the opportunities that the show brought us and
- 38:51Speaker 2: just the. We had wanted to be in the magazine
- 38:53Speaker 2: for so long, and we got to be in the
- 38:55Speaker 2: magazine like four times after the show started. So we
- 38:57Speaker 2: loved those opportunities. So just kind of everything about life
- 39:00Speaker 2: there kind of improved after the show came along.
- 39:02Speaker 4: And then during those years, the magazines, which people still
- 39:06Speaker 4: bought magazines back then.
- 39:07Speaker 1: They certainly don't now.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Those issues were doing probably great because you guys had
- 39:13Speaker 4: the show pushing it.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, so... It goes on for– so.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Like you're like sleeping in that big brown headboard room.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Was it a waterbed? I always imagined it was. No,
- 39:25Speaker 1: it looks like it though, doesn't it?
- 39:26Speaker 3: It does.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Because it looks like it. It looks like that weather
- 39:28Speaker 1: would go around the waterbed. But it's not. Okay.
- 39:31Speaker 4: And so you're in there every night still sleeping. At
- 39:37Speaker 4: some point, you never go, you know what? I bet
- 39:39Speaker 4: you'd sleep better if I wasn't in there. Like, you
- 39:41Speaker 4: never thought to try to get out of it because
- 39:42Speaker 4: you're no longer boned. Like, it goes years without boning him.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. And he still insists that you like sleep next
- 39:49Speaker 1: to him like a wife. Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Well, the last time I think I asked for a
- 39:52Speaker 2: room was maybe like before the show started. After all
- 39:55Speaker 2: those girls moved out, I'm like, hey, there's extra rooms.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Like maybe I could take the smallest one down the
- 39:59Speaker 2: hall just because to have more room for my stuff
- 40:01Speaker 2: or like have like a moment of privacy.
- 40:03Speaker 1: And he said no.
- 40:04Speaker 2: And I was kind of conditioned not to ask for
- 40:06Speaker 2: things because he would get really angry, snap at me,
- 40:09Speaker 2: just put me in tears sometimes when we'd have some discussions.
- 40:12Speaker 2: So I wasn't really asking for a lot.
- 40:15Speaker 1: When I lived there. And we mentioned the two boys.
- 40:18Speaker 4: So how old were they then, his two sons with,
- 40:20Speaker 4: what was that wife's name?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Kimberly. Kimberly. And wasn't it that Kimberly and the boys
- 40:24Speaker 1: were like living in a house next door? Okay.
- 40:27Speaker 4: And so how often would like those boys come around
- 40:29Speaker 4: and did you have any relationship with them?
- 40:32Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't say we had any relationship with them.
- 40:33Speaker 2: They were probably like 10 or 11 when we moved in.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say like 9 and 11,
- 40:37Speaker 3: something in there.
- 40:38Speaker 2: And he used to have family night on tuesdays where
- 40:41Speaker 2: like the kids and kimberly would come over and they'd
- 40:43Speaker 2: like watch a movie and we just like steered clear
- 40:46Speaker 2: and we didn't and.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Sometimes the boys would come over and run around the
- 40:49Speaker 3: property and like they they were like into kind of
- 40:52Speaker 3: trying to film little movies and writing little.
- 40:54Speaker 2: But it was rare like i didn't see them around
- 40:56Speaker 2: a lot.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Not all the time but yeah they were here and.
- 40:59Speaker 1: There and did you have any relation with kimberly No,
- 41:03Speaker 1: I thought she was so intimidating. I thought she was
- 41:05Speaker 1: so scary. Yeah.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Have you ever, like, did you ever talk to her since? Like, have, like,
- 41:12Speaker 4: a gab session after he died or after you were
- 41:15Speaker 4: broken up with him or anything?
- 41:17Speaker 2: I think it's pretty safe to say we wouldn't get along.
- 41:19Speaker 2: She led this whole thing after the A & E
- 41:21Speaker 2: documentary came out. She got all these people together to, like,
- 41:23Speaker 2: sign a petition to say that, like, Hef's a great guy.
- 41:25Speaker 1: So I don't think we'd get along. Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I only talked to her like once the whole time
- 41:30Speaker 2: I lived there. It was very early on after I
- 41:32Speaker 2: moved in. I was working out in the gym and
- 41:34Speaker 2: she was down in the gym and she just said, hi,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I'm Kimberly.
- 41:36Speaker 1: And that was it.
- 41:37Speaker 4: And do you think, why do you think, like, first
- 41:42Speaker 4: of all, why do you think they got married?
- 41:43Speaker 1: And then why do you think they got divorced?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Well, I think he was going through a lot in
- 41:47Speaker 2: his life. He just had a stroke. It was the 80s,
- 41:50Speaker 2: like the AIDS crisis. Nobody's like having casual sex anymore.
- 41:54Speaker 2: He's already old. There's no Viagra. It probably only made.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Sense for him. No, there's all these reasons.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Like, I'm not even making excuses. Like, there's all these reasons.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Because he would always tell me that he'd been so
- 42:05Speaker 2: miserable being married. I'm like, well, why'd you get married then?
- 42:08Speaker 4: I mean, to the first wife, who's the mother of, like,
- 42:11Speaker 4: the girl, right?
- 42:14Speaker 1: No, the first wife was back in like the 50s. Right.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and then his second wife, he got married in
- 42:18Speaker 2: the 80s, like 89. Right, but he has one daughter
- 42:22Speaker 2: from the first wife, right? A daughter and a son, yeah.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Okay, so then he had all those years, and then
- 42:27Speaker 4: he marries Kimberly in 89.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:30Speaker 4: And they have the two boys, and then why do
- 42:33Speaker 4: you think they divorced? Was he just still wanting to,
- 42:36Speaker 4: was that when Viagra came out, and then she didn't
- 42:38Speaker 4: want to be with a cheater?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Coincidentally, it was when Viagra came out, but I don't
- 42:41Speaker 2: think that's why I think I mean, I don't really know.
- 42:43Speaker 1: You'd have to ask her.
- 42:44Speaker 2: But I think Kimberly just wanted to, like, travel more
- 42:46Speaker 2: and do more things. And eventually there was a— from his
- 42:48Speaker 2: side of the story is there was a New Year's
- 42:50Speaker 2: Eve party, and she left and took the kids to Hawaii,
- 42:53Speaker 2: which I kind of find it hard to believe somebody would, like,
- 42:54Speaker 2: do that last minute and just ditch somebody at a
- 42:57Speaker 2: New Year's Eve party. So I don't know what her
- 42:58Speaker 2: side of the story was. But his side of the
- 43:00Speaker 2: story was that he was, like, ditched at a New
- 43:02Speaker 2: Year's Eve party.
- 43:02Speaker 1: So I don't know. Yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 4: And, okay, so then— So the show goes on and
- 43:10Speaker 4: then where, how does it come to an end? And
- 43:14Speaker 4: so like for the three of you, I know it
- 43:16Speaker 4: went on for like one more season with those two
- 43:18Speaker 4: other girls. But like you guys were on it for,
- 43:22Speaker 4: it went with you guys on it for how many years?
- 43:24Speaker 1: Five seasons. Okay.
- 43:26Speaker 4: And then how did it, and then did you all
- 43:28Speaker 4: three leave at the same time, the show?
- 43:30Speaker 2: It ended up kind of being like that. Kendra kind
- 43:32Speaker 2: of stopped participating around season four. Like if you watch
- 43:35Speaker 2: season four, she's all of a sudden not really in
- 43:37Speaker 2: it as much.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 43:38Speaker 2: And wanted to go do her own thing.
- 43:40Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 43:41Speaker 2: And wanted to go do her own thing. And E
- 43:44Speaker 2: decided to do a spinoff with her. And then Bridget
- 43:46Speaker 2: got a job doing a show for Travel Channel.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Oh, I remember that.
- 43:49Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 2: So you were going to leave and do that, but
- 43:51Speaker 2: I kind of always felt like you would go do that.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And you know when you're filming a really obvious show,
- 43:55Speaker 2: you're really only filming like six months a year max.
- 43:57Speaker 2: I kind of felt like you– I don't know what
- 43:59Speaker 2: your plan was, but I kind of felt like you
- 44:00Speaker 2: would go do that and then come back and do
- 44:02Speaker 2: Girls Next Door.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I was thinking that too. Yeah. I kind of had
- 44:05Speaker 3: one foot out the door, like I was wanting to
- 44:07Speaker 3: date and stuff, so I was sort of thinking about
- 44:10Speaker 3: moving out, but I still thought there was time, and
- 44:12Speaker 3: I would go film the beaches, come back, film Girls
- 44:15Speaker 3: Next Door, go to beaches.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:18Speaker 2: And for me, you know, I had planned on staying.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I loved my job at the studio and everything, and they...
- 44:24Speaker 2: had planned on Girls Next Door just continuing and being
- 44:26Speaker 2: more inclusive of, like, the playmates and the girls at
- 44:29Speaker 2: the studio, and it would be kind of more about that.
- 44:32Speaker 1: More like about the business. Yeah. Yeah. But I decided
- 44:35Speaker 1: to leave.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Because after Bridget and Kendra left, things just got– I mean,
- 44:38Speaker 2: there were other things, too. Like, I was getting a
- 44:40Speaker 2: little bit older, and I wanted to have kids, and
- 44:43Speaker 2: Bridget and Kendra left, and Hef just got so hard
- 44:46Speaker 2: to deal with that I just– I couldn't do it.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I just left suddenly.
- 44:50Speaker 2: And the producers of the show– sorry– And the producer
- 44:54Speaker 2: of the show was so mad at me because he
- 44:55Speaker 2: had planned on the show to keep going. And so
- 44:58Speaker 2: he was really angry I left, but I had to
- 45:01Speaker 2: do it. So that storyline that we would see that
- 45:03Speaker 2: was like, Holly is like, when am I getting my ring?
- 45:07Speaker 2: Why aren't I getting married? was that not true? Was
- 45:11Speaker 2: that not something you ever really wanted? Or was it
- 45:13Speaker 2: something like, I put in my years that I do
- 45:15Speaker 2: want to get married. I do want to be Mrs.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Hefner. No, I did want it.
- 45:19Speaker 2: But I will say that I played into it on
- 45:21Speaker 2: the show more and they love to repeat things. So
- 45:23Speaker 2: I swear I'm not that obnoxious in real life. Like
- 45:26Speaker 2: I'm not like, when are we getting married? But I
- 45:29Speaker 2: thought it was kind of funny on the show to
- 45:30Speaker 2: joke about it. Like if I was throwing a baby
- 45:32Speaker 2: shower and I had a baby outfit, I was like, Oh,
- 45:34Speaker 2: this is cute.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I wish I could have one.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Like, I said that kind of stuff thinking it would
- 45:38Speaker 2: be funny on the show, and it was.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Right. And it kept up with the drama, too. So
- 45:42Speaker 1: it was true, but I'm not that annoying. I swear
- 45:44Speaker 1: to God. Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 4: So when did you, like, okay, so you're doing the
- 45:49Speaker 4: travel show. And then the show ended as the three girls. Like,
- 45:55Speaker 4: how did that happen?
- 45:56Speaker 1: Because you did say, I want to move out. I
- 45:58Speaker 1: am done with you.
- 45:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I said, I'm done. I'm moving out. And what was
- 46:02Speaker 1: that day that you finally were, like... This is it.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I know what day it was. Well, I don't actually
- 46:06Speaker 3: know the date.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know what I mean? Like, what was
- 46:09Speaker 1: the moment? That, like, aha moment. This is it. I've
- 46:13Speaker 1: thought about it for a long time. And this is it.
- 46:15Speaker 1: And this is why. And I'm not turning back. Like,
- 46:17Speaker 1: what was that?
- 46:18Speaker 2: It was a lot of things leading up to it.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Like I said, with the relationship. And, like, we'd done
- 46:21Speaker 2: in vitro.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Oh, you had? Yeah.
- 46:24Speaker 3: This was the real deal.
- 46:25Speaker 1: With Hef's sperm?
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 46:28Speaker 1: And it didn't work. Yeah, was that on the show?
- 46:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:31Speaker 2: It wasn't on the show because we wanted to keep
- 46:32Speaker 2: it secret because, you know, when you're trying to get pregnant,
- 46:34Speaker 2: you don't want to like necessarily.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I mean, some people do.
- 46:36Speaker 4: But I mean, I feel like that now is the
- 46:38Speaker 4: storyline for every reality show is someone freezing their eggs
- 46:40Speaker 4: or going through in vitro.
- 46:42Speaker 2: But if you watch the show, there's reference to it.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Like in season four, I'm leaving to go to Jamaica
- 46:47Speaker 2: and I go, you know, saying, oh, if we got married,
- 46:50Speaker 2: I wouldn't go on so many trips. Not that I'm
- 46:52Speaker 2: even going on so many trips. I was going one
- 46:54Speaker 2: trip for my sister's wedding and like seven years.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Of living there. But.
- 46:58Speaker 2: And then he goes, well, let's work on the baby first.
- 47:01Speaker 2: And that was while we were doing in vitro. So
- 47:02Speaker 2: he makes comments, but like we hadn't come out and
- 47:05Speaker 2: like said anything.
- 47:06Speaker 3: And not only that, but I did the egg retrieval
- 47:09Speaker 3: while we were doing it. And I wanted it to
- 47:10Speaker 3: be on the show because I thought it was really important,
- 47:12Speaker 3: especially back then. People weren't really talking about it yet.
- 47:15Speaker 3: And they refused to show it because it showed me
- 47:17Speaker 3: thinking of a life that wasn't revolving around the mansion.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Got it.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they wouldn't even show that I was in real
- 47:22Speaker 2: estate school because they wanted it to look like I
- 47:25Speaker 2: had no outside aspirations besides Heff.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Yeah, we were supposed to look like we were never
- 47:29Speaker 3: going to leave there, that this was our life and forever.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 4: So did you actually do it in vitro, like the
- 47:40Speaker 4: embryo winning you?
- 47:41Speaker 2: No, because his sperm didn't work.
- 47:43Speaker 1: That's what I was going to ask. I'm like, yeah. Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 4: So was it shocking when you heard in the Secrets
- 47:50Speaker 4: of Playboy that the one twin– so then the twins
- 47:55Speaker 4: came after you. The twins came after that. You're featured
- 47:57Speaker 4: in the Secrets of Playboy. And one of the twins
- 48:01Speaker 4: says she got pregnant by having the regular sex with
- 48:05Speaker 4: Hef and went forward with an abortion.
- 48:09Speaker 1: What is your thoughts?
- 48:11Speaker 4: Did that surprise you then?
- 48:13Speaker 2: Well, I'm never going to say I don't believe anybody's
- 48:15Speaker 2: story because I wasn't there and anything can happen. But
- 48:18Speaker 2: it's surprising, you.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Know, considering what I know. It's surprising for any man
- 48:22Speaker 1: that age. Yeah.
- 48:23Speaker 3: For any man that age. And then after he's already done,
- 48:26Speaker 3: tried to do the in vitro stuff. Right. And it
- 48:28Speaker 3: was unsuccessful.
- 48:30Speaker 1: But anything can happen.
- 48:31Speaker 3: But yeah, you just never know.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Like, I don't like it when people come for my
- 48:34Speaker 2: story and say, well, I was there in the 70s
- 48:36Speaker 2: and it wasn't like that. I'm like.
- 48:38Speaker 1: You don't know, you weren't there when I was there.
- 48:39Speaker 4: I always say whenever someone says that, I'm like, you know,
- 48:45Speaker 4: I'm sure there were a million waiters in Best Boys
- 48:47Speaker 4: that said OJ Simpson was the nicest guy in the world.
- 48:50Speaker 2: There probably still are.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 48:52Speaker 4: Because someone's experience doesn't mean that their experience wasn't their experience.
- 48:58Speaker 4: But just because you had a great experience with someone
- 49:00Speaker 4: doesn't mean that that person's story is not true. And maybe,
- 49:03Speaker 4: you know, and also with a situation like that, a
- 49:08Speaker 4: guy like Hef or a guy, you know, they know
- 49:11Speaker 4: who to pursue and who to just be like, hey,
- 49:15Speaker 4: hope you had a good time at the party.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Bye-bye.
- 49:17Speaker 3: 100%.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Who's the vulnerable one? Who's the one that can be manipulated?
- 49:21Speaker 4: Especially a guy that's been doing it for 80 fucking years.
- 49:25Speaker 4: They're really good at it at that point of choosing
- 49:28Speaker 4: who's going to be accommodating and who's not.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you never saw anybody in the group when we
- 49:34Speaker 2: were there that ever had any wealth or career or
- 49:39Speaker 2: really anything like that it was always girls who are
- 49:41Speaker 2: hard up that.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Didn't have anything to fall back on right that yeah
- 49:45Speaker 4: that are are gonna put up with it because what
- 49:47Speaker 4: would they do yeah you know um so in in
- 49:51Speaker 4: doing this were you able to stop like sock some
- 49:55Speaker 4: money away because you said now they're paying you a
- 49:57Speaker 4: little bit and um I know when Kendra was here
- 50:00Speaker 4: she was like she was able to make a little
- 50:03Speaker 4: bit of money doing like appearances and stuff and that
- 50:05Speaker 4: she was kind of trying to save, but then they
- 50:07Speaker 4: would try to take that. Like they would, they didn't
- 50:10Speaker 4: like that, that you could like go make a, do
- 50:13Speaker 4: a club appearance for five grand or whatever. So did
- 50:16Speaker 4: you guys find that to be the case as well?
- 50:17Speaker 2: Well, I definitely did save a ton of money and
- 50:19Speaker 2: I started investing in real estate. Like I went to
- 50:22Speaker 2: school for real estate investment. So I was always watching
- 50:24Speaker 2: my back and trying to like build a future for
- 50:26Speaker 2: myself because, you know, you always kind of felt, too,
- 50:30Speaker 2: at the mansion, like the rug could be pulled out
- 50:32Speaker 2: from you at any moment.
- 50:33Speaker 4: Or he could die at any moment, you know? Right,
- 50:36Speaker 4: and if he died, it's not like you were, like,
- 50:38Speaker 4: in a will. Yeah, you weren't a wife. You didn't
- 50:41Speaker 4: have a kid with him. So, yeah, you'd just be screwed. Like,
- 50:44Speaker 4: they'd probably be, like, knocking on your door the next day.
- 50:46Speaker 3: For sure.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Pack up your little dog and, like, yeah. Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 4: So you come back and you guys are all like, okay,
- 50:52Speaker 4: you've got your travel show.
- 50:53Speaker 1: You've got stuff cooking.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You're like, OK. And when you tell him. So what
- 50:58Speaker 1: was the day? Oh, the day.
- 50:59Speaker 2: OK, so it's all this stuff leading up to it.
- 51:01Speaker 2: So I was kind of ready to go anyway. But
- 51:03Speaker 2: I was in Vegas working on a playmate shoe and
- 51:06Speaker 2: I went out to eat with somebody whose name I'd
- 51:09Speaker 2: rather not mention. But when I was talking to this
- 51:12Speaker 2: guy who I thought was cute and realized, oh, I
- 51:14Speaker 2: could have feelings for this guy, like nothing happened. But
- 51:17Speaker 2: I realized I can have feelings for this guy. And
- 51:19Speaker 2: then Hef called the next morning and was like, I
- 51:21Speaker 2: had security following you the whole time. You need to
- 51:24Speaker 2: get back here.
- 51:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 51:25Speaker 2: And I was like, I can't do this.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I can't. Like, it's done today. So you go to, like,
- 51:32Speaker 1: a lunch. You have, like, a little flirty lunch, but
- 51:35Speaker 1: nothing happens. And you find out later you had no
- 51:38Speaker 1: idea that you were being followed and, like, under surveillance.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Absolutely not. That is so creepy. Yeah, it's so creepy.
- 51:46Speaker 1: And so how old are you at that point? I
- 51:48Speaker 1: was 29.
- 51:49Speaker 4: And, um, so when you, so then you're like, so
- 51:53Speaker 4: then you, so how do you tell him I'm done?
- 51:56Speaker 2: Well, the next day I told him, you know, I
- 52:00Speaker 2: think I'm moving out. You know, I, you know, I
- 52:03Speaker 2: want to get married and have kids someday. Like that's
- 52:05Speaker 2: an easy excuse to give.
- 52:06Speaker 1: It's true.
- 52:07Speaker 2: And it's something he can't do like physically. Um, And
- 52:12Speaker 2: he didn't want to let it go. He kept trying
- 52:13Speaker 2: to convince me to stay. He even did put me
- 52:15Speaker 2: in his will, left the will on my side of
- 52:17Speaker 2: the bed so I could see it.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And what did it say?
- 52:20Speaker 2: That I'd get $ 3 million when he died. But, you know,
- 52:24Speaker 2: my mind was made up and I packed up my
- 52:27Speaker 2: stuff and I left.
- 52:28Speaker 1: And.
- 52:30Speaker 4: Okay, so then you go– one of the things from
- 52:34Speaker 4: the show, as I remember it, is that you guys
- 52:36Speaker 4: did have– I want to say maybe it was one episode,
- 52:38Speaker 4: but I feel like there were several episodes where you
- 52:40Speaker 4: guys did go to Vegas as a foursome. You know,
- 52:43Speaker 4: on the Playboy, go to the Playboy suite and everything
- 52:46Speaker 4: at the Palms.
- 52:47Speaker 2: But we had to fly right back and be home
- 52:49Speaker 2: by 9 o'clock.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Even if he was with you or not if he
- 52:52Speaker 1: was– Oh, not if he was with us. Oh, yeah. Yeah,
- 52:53Speaker 1: he would go sometimes.
- 52:54Speaker 4: And I remember that was the first time, the 9
- 52:56Speaker 4: o'clock thing, and I just thought that was so weird.
- 53:00Speaker 4: And then, like, Kendra said that, you know, because there
- 53:03Speaker 4: was the 9 o'clock curfew, she still kind of dated.
- 53:06Speaker 1: But she'd have to, like, do it in the afternoon. Like,
- 53:08Speaker 1: you could go off and do lunch and stuff.
- 53:11Speaker 3: You could do whatever you wanted during the day, but
- 53:13Speaker 3: you had to be home by 9 o'clock. And Kendra
- 53:15Speaker 3: was hardly ever around during the day.
- 53:17Speaker 1: But do you... And obviously security wasn't following you guys then.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Otherwise, he would have known. I mean, they could have been. But, yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 3: he would have known.
- 53:25Speaker 1: They might have been.
- 53:26Speaker 2: I always felt like Hef kind of knew Kendra wasn't
- 53:28Speaker 2: going to stick around that long, though. So maybe he
- 53:30Speaker 2: did know. I think he did know. I'm pretty sure
- 53:33Speaker 2: he did know. Because of some security he did have
- 53:34Speaker 2: with her on some trips. I think he knew, but
- 53:36Speaker 2: just was like, whatever, it's working for the show.
- 53:39Speaker 1: So you get your variety show at the Planet Hollywood.
- 53:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 4: And they also say, we'll follow you that, follow the cameras.
- 53:49Speaker 4: You have a reality show part of it, right?
- 53:50Speaker 1: They were filming it.
- 53:51Speaker 2: So I wanted to do a spinoff about my life
- 53:53Speaker 2: in Vegas and I was just shopping it around with
- 53:55Speaker 2: a manager. But then when he expressed interest because of
- 53:59Speaker 2: the contracts we had to sign before season five of
- 54:01Speaker 2: Girls Next Door, I had to do it with the
- 54:03Speaker 2: same production company that did Girls Next Door. That was
- 54:05Speaker 2: locked in according to the contract.
- 54:08Speaker 1: So I think.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Kevin, the producer, was excited about doing my show once
- 54:12Speaker 2: it started, but he hated me in.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Between Girls Next Door and that show.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Like, he used to write open letters to the message board, like,
- 54:19Speaker 2: just making me sound like a horrible person.
- 54:21Speaker 1: From him?
- 54:22Speaker 2: Yes, he signed it. Like, I could go online and
- 54:24Speaker 2: find it. Stacey put it on her blog.
- 54:26Speaker 1: And what was he basically saying?
- 54:28Speaker 2: He was saying that I had been over Hef for
- 54:31Speaker 2: years and that I was dating this other guy behind
- 54:34Speaker 2: his back the whole time, which wasn't true, and that
- 54:36Speaker 2: I was mad because I didn't get my own spinoff,
- 54:38Speaker 2: which nobody was ever talking about. He was just trying
- 54:41Speaker 2: to make me sound like the villain, like I ruined
- 54:43Speaker 2: the show.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah. Yeah.
- 54:46Speaker 4: So when it ended for you, then you were doing
- 54:48Speaker 4: the travel thing. And how often were you guys all talking?
- 54:51Speaker 4: At this point, was Kendra not really close to you
- 54:54Speaker 4: guys anymore? Or did you.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Go to her wedding? Yeah, you know what? When we
- 54:59Speaker 1: were leaving, I loved Kendra.
- 55:01Speaker 2: I thought that we had had kind of our sibling
- 55:04Speaker 2: rivalry while we were there.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 55:05Speaker 2: But I felt like after she was with Hank, she
- 55:07Speaker 2: just seemed so much more mature and so happy. And
- 55:13Speaker 2: I feel like we were all three just so happy
- 55:15Speaker 2: for each other.
- 55:16Speaker 1: And the direction our lives were going.
- 55:18Speaker 2: We all got together to do commentary for seasons four
- 55:21Speaker 2: and five of Girls Next Door after we moved out.
- 55:23Speaker 2: And you can even hear in the commentary, we're just
- 55:26Speaker 2: getting along. We're all happy for each other.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:29Speaker 1: So that was then. And we were in the wedding.
- 55:32Speaker 1: You were in the wedding.
- 55:33Speaker 3: We were in the wedding. We stayed in contact. I
- 55:35Speaker 3: threw her baby shower.
- 55:38Speaker 1: And so what happened then?
- 55:40Speaker 4: Was it that when you wrote your book, Down the
- 55:42Speaker 4: Rabbit Hole, and you became pretty frank about things? Is
- 55:46Speaker 4: that when she kind of was like, I disagree and
- 55:48Speaker 4: cooled on you?
- 55:50Speaker 1: Hanging out?
- 55:51Speaker 2: No, it was before then because I was doing my spinoff.
- 55:54Speaker 2: She was doing her spinoff. We have Kevin, the producer,
- 55:56Speaker 2: doing both. But was her spinoff, was Ani too?
- 56:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was Ani. Okay.
- 56:02Speaker 2: So he's doing the spinoffs. And then, and I write,
- 56:06Speaker 2: I go into more detail about her on my book.
- 56:08Speaker 2: But things got weird with me and Kendra, and I
- 56:10Speaker 2: felt like he was encouraging that. Like, he wanted us fighting.
- 56:14Speaker 2: He wanted drama. He wanted me to come on her
- 56:16Speaker 2: show and, like, brag about how much money I was
- 56:18Speaker 2: making in Vegas so she'd get a little poke in
- 56:20Speaker 2: the ass to take more jobs to make her show
- 56:22Speaker 2: more interesting.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I don't know. That's what he told me.
- 56:25Speaker 2: And things got weird between us, and it got to
- 56:28Speaker 2: the point eventually where I had a falling out with
- 56:30Speaker 2: that producer. I was on the phone screaming with him,
- 56:32Speaker 2: and he admitted to me that he Wanted us to
- 56:34Speaker 2: not get along because he thought it would be good publicity.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 56:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't want any part of that bullshit.
- 56:40Speaker 2: You know, I'm pregnant. I don't want to be stressed out.
- 56:42Speaker 2: I don't want to be fighting with people and looking
- 56:44Speaker 2: like shit and tabloids for publicity that benefits your dumb show.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Like, bye. Yeah.
- 56:49Speaker 2: And so by the time I wrote this, I was mad.
- 56:52Speaker 2: I was mad at him. I was mad at Kendra.
- 56:54Speaker 6: Okay.
- 56:55Speaker 4: Okay, so then the next book came out, The Vegas Diaries,
- 57:02Speaker 4: and in this, where are you in your life talking
- 57:05Speaker 4: about what's going on here at this point?
- 57:07Speaker 2: Oh, I was talking about my life in Vegas and
- 57:09Speaker 2: just lessons I learned dating, but I don't drop names
- 57:13Speaker 2: or anything like that.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and at this point you're married when you write
- 57:16Speaker 1: the second book.
- 57:17Speaker 2: I was married when I wrote the first one, and
- 57:18Speaker 2: my husband was always super supportive of me telling the
- 57:21Speaker 2: truth about my experience.
- 57:23Speaker 1: So then when did you guys– now, what's your situation?
- 57:27Speaker 1: Are you single? What's happening, Bridget?
- 57:30Speaker 3: No, I met somebody almost right away. I actually met
- 57:33Speaker 3: him at the mansion, and we've been dating ever since.
- 57:35Speaker 3: We've been together for 14 years.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 57:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:38Speaker 4: So you're like a Goldie Hawn and– Like, do you
- 57:42Speaker 4: think you'll ever get married or why get married?
- 57:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to. We've been engaged. There's, like, a
- 57:48Speaker 3: lot of reasons why we haven't done it yet. But, yeah,
- 57:51Speaker 3: we plan to for sure.
- 57:52Speaker 1: But you don't have kids?
- 57:53Speaker 3: No.
- 57:54Speaker 1: And you guys live here in L.A.? Mm-hmm. Okay, perfect.
- 57:58Speaker 4: What did you think of the Secrets of Playboy? Because
- 58:00Speaker 4: you were not a part of it, right?
- 58:03Speaker 3: I did do one day of interviewing. They put almost
- 58:06Speaker 3: nothing that I– That I said in there, my experience
- 58:11Speaker 3: and looking back on my experiences with Hef and the
- 58:13Speaker 3: mansion are pretty positive. I would say 98% of it
- 58:17Speaker 3: is positive. There were a few stories that I had
- 58:20Speaker 3: of things that I didn't think were quite right or whatever.
- 58:22Speaker 3: And those are the only stories that they used and
- 58:24Speaker 3: they used them to pretty much like kind of.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Back up what I was saying, back up Holly's stories.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Which was what?
- 58:30Speaker 3: Barely in it.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Basically what?
- 58:31Speaker 3: I didn't watch it, so I didn't see which ones
- 58:33Speaker 3: they chose.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I didn't even watch my episode. I've watched, they did
- 58:36Speaker 2: 12 episodes. I watched all of them except episode two
- 58:39Speaker 2: just because I don't want to watch myself talk about
- 58:40Speaker 2: my trauma again.
- 58:41Speaker 1: I can't take it.
- 58:42Speaker 2: But every other episode I watched, and it came out
- 58:45Speaker 2: over the course of 12 weeks, I had nightmares after
- 58:47Speaker 2: I watched them.
- 58:48Speaker 1: It's intense. You know what? I feel like I did too.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Yes.
- 58:51Speaker 1: It's not like I was ever there. Because being that
- 58:53Speaker 1: it was once a week and it's like, It drags
- 58:57Speaker 1: on the suspense. You can't binge it.
- 58:58Speaker 4: It's interesting, like, because there's all these, like, documentaries. And
- 59:01Speaker 4: I was joking the other day on my show. I'm like,
- 59:05Speaker 4: isn't it weird that we grew up, like, never watching
- 59:07Speaker 4: a documentary, and now that's all... anybody talks about or watches?
- 59:12Speaker 4: And so it's like, when you watch, like, a documentary that's, like,
- 59:14Speaker 4: a three-part or four-part, and you watch it all in
- 59:15Speaker 4: one night, and it's disturbing, you're like, whew! Like, you
- 59:18Speaker 4: have one bad, and then you forget it. But this was, like,
- 59:21Speaker 4: every week.
- 59:22Speaker 1: And then they even are, like.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Adding stuff.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Yeah, now we have another one. People came forward and, like...
- 59:28Speaker 1: And it was just, like, traumatic. It was really traumatic,
- 59:32Speaker 1: even for people that, like, have nothing to do with it.
- 59:35Speaker 3: I didn't watch it, but I still got messages about it,
- 59:38Speaker 3: and people I knew were watching it and telling me things.
- 59:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:41Speaker 3: And there'd be, like, little snippets on, like, news outlets,
- 59:43Speaker 3: and I'd just be like, oh, I don't want to
- 59:45Speaker 3: know this stuff.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:48Speaker 4: And so what about when, what did you think when
- 59:52Speaker 4: he married his last wife, Crystal?
- 59:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:55Speaker 2: I mean, there's so many things to think. There was
- 59:57Speaker 2: the whole runaway bride debacle.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Right. So what happened? They were engaged, but then she bailed. Bailed.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: And then they got married.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Wasn't it like the night before the wedding or something?
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: It was something crazy like that.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Or something like right before. And it was a lifetime special. Yeah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: So it bailed on the whole TV show and everything.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Oh, it was going to be. I thought you were
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: just saying it's like a Lifetime movie. No, it really
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: was going to be a filmed Lifetime special.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: And she really just left the day before. And then,
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: this is like vaguely coming back to me. And then
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: what happened?
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Then how later did she come back then?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: I think maybe a year or two. I'm not really
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: sure on the timeline.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Oh, I thought it was quicker than that, but I
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: don't remember either.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: And then, so she was with him all the way
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: until the end, until he passed.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: And- And then she did a tweet that went quite
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: public because she tweeted to you about the fact that
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: it got revealed in the Secrets of Playboy that there
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: were video cameras in the room. And so there were
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: all this footage.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: I hope there weren't video cameras in the room.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Maybe not video. Photos. Sorry.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: Photos.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: There were photos of all you guys. And then she said,
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: I did find all the photos. And I threw them out.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Thank God.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: And that was also kind of nice, because otherwise she
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: didn't participate in this.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Which I can understand why. Well, it's scary. I
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: didn't even want to do it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I admire the director's work, and we'd had some amazing,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: really long conversations about it. But for the longest time,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: I didn't want to do it, because I'm like, I
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: already wrote my book. I said what I need to say.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Sitting down and doing a day... I did two interviews
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: with them and one of them lasted all day. And
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I just don't want to sit and talk about my
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: trauma again. Like I did not want to do it.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Eventually I finally decided to do it just because I
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: knew so many other women were coming forward and I
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: know what it feels like to come forward and not
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: have anybody have your back. So I wanted to be
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: supportive of that. But, but even after that I was
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: scared cause I'm like, how are they going to edit me?
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Are they going to make me sound like I said
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: something I didn't say? So it was, it was scary.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Like I had very mixed feelings going into it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: And, um, Yeah.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: I mean, I think she's like living a great life now.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: And I mean, she seems happy with some cute young guy.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I went on Instagram. I'm like, wow, that's a switch.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: Let's talk about the girls next level and like what
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: you've recorded and what you've like. Just talk about it,
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: like what you think, because I think it is such
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: a cool reflection, really.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Well, it started out with Holly doing YouTube videos.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I had people request on my YouTube channel, like,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: react to an episode of Girls Next Door. So I
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: did a couple. The first three were hard to watch.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: And you know now, going back and watching them, it's
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: really emotional. Like, I feel like we were done so
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: dirty in those first couple of episodes.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: How is it, tell me, Bridget, like, how is it
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: when you look at it?
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Like, what?
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Because you just went, like, you just, like, had a
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: visceral reaction.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Because Holly warned me that the first three episodes were
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: really hard to watch. And when she said that, I
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: thought she just meant, like... kind of just getting used
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: to watching them again. And once you get past, like,
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: three episodes, you're good. I didn't realize until I just
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: watched them, not... I just watched them, not last night,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: but the night before. And I'm still traumatized. Like, I'm
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: sick to my stomach.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: I can't sleep. I've been crying.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Really? What makes you sick to your stomach?
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: The way we were portrayed. And I just.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: And how were you portrayed that wasn't real for you?
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: For me?
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Or for both of us?
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: How do you feel that you were portrayed... And it's
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: upsetting you because that wasn't your authentic self.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: If you want, I could jump in with one thing
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: you did in that episode if it's easier.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Yeah. That I think is messed up.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: They make it look like Bridget is, like, plying all
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: the new playmates with drinks to, like, mess them up
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: for their shoot the next.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Day because she's jealous.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Which isn't what she said at all, but they cut
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: and paste it so it looks like she's literally trying to, like,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: shove shots in everybody's face because she wants to sabotage.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: And I think that's messed up and... Borderline illegal.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: And what I was talking about in that.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and if it's not true, that's just shitty.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's absolutely not true. And I don't plan
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: the going out schedule or how much girls drink. I
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: have no control over that stuff. But what it boils
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: down to is that I had wanted Playmate so bad,
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: like way long before I'd even been to the mansion.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I tested before I even lived at the mansion. And
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: I was talking about my insecurities with that and how
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: jealous that I was when I see all these girls
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: coming and going and getting it and making Playmate of
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: the Year and all this stuff. And it's really, really
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: hard to watch. And so I can't help but be
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: critical sometimes of them. Like, oh, she kind of has
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: a bad boob job or maybe her hair needs to
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: be different, whatever. And they just took that and made
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: it look like I was ridiculing everybody that came, that
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: I was just this jealous bitch, that I was getting
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: people drunk and sabotaging their pictorials. And And even little things, too.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: There was tiny things that at first, when I was
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: first watching it, I was like, oh, they're just trying
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: to be funny in the edit, but... Like, I would
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: joke with somebody. A girl came in wearing a similar
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: dress to me, and I was like, she's like, oh,
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I hope you don't mind. And I say, no, I
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: totally mind.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Take it off.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: And then I laugh, and we're just joking because we're
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: really great friends. But they take out the laugh in
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: that I'm just joking, and it shows me saying, no,
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: I want you to take it off. And just leaving
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: it at that. And just like, and they were, and
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: at first I thought, it's just a reality show, so
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: I'm not going to like, you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: they do stuff like that. But then when you start
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: seeing it consistently to her and I.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: And only us. They never did that to Kendra.
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: Ever.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: So we are immediately, immediately in episode one being made
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: out to be the bitches.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Right. That is true.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: And maybe that was the half character thing. When he said,
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: I have your characters planned. Do you recall what? He
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: wanted your characters to be.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: I don't think that part came from him. I think
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: that came from the executive producer. And that's confusing, too,
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: because we went on to feel like we had a
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: close friendship with Kevin. And now as we get older
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: and look back and see what he did, it's really
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: it's a bad feeling. But Hef wanted me to be
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: completely devoted to him. He was like, you're the one
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: who cares about me. Bridget's the one who wants a career.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: And Kendra's the one who wants to have fun. Like
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: that was his idea of what our characters were. But
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I think it was more the producer who wanted the
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: drama and wanted us to look mean and, you know,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: didn't care.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: So Holly, I haven't watched all the episodes. She has
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: because she's been doing the YouTube videos. But I've only
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: watched up to episode three right now. And I am traumatized.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: You know, when I did those first reaction videos, I
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: was telling the viewers, I'm like, I don't know if
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: I'm going to continue these because they're not great for
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: my mental health. Like, I just come off watching, like,
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: The Secrets of Playboy, and then I'm watching this, and
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't have the bandwidth for this.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: That's what I told Holly. I said, I don't know
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: if I can keep watching these. I'm literally sick over this.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: And she was like, no, it gets better, I swear.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: And I was like, I think I need to go
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: to bed. And so I, like, went to bed early.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I thought maybe if I just sleep on it in
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: the morning, I'll feel better about it. I woke up
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: the next morning. I was– yesterday– sick to my stomach.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Do you have dreams? I couldn't sleep. Do you have dreams?
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Are you a dreamer that has vivid dreams?
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: I rarely remember my dreams.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Very rarely.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Do you have vivid dreams?
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: I had a nightmare. I was back at the mansion
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: every single night after Secrets of Playboy.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: Because sometimes when I either read something or something's on
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: my mind, I have very vivid dreams where I can
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: remember the next day and I'm like, Oh, my God.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Like, bitch, get out of my dream. Like, why did
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: you come back? Like, what the fuck? Like, I haven't
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: thought about you in, like, three years. Like, what the hell?
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: But something will happen, and that person's there, and it's, like,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: very strange how that works. Yeah.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I was just like, I don't know if I can
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: do this. And she's like, I swear it gets better.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: So I'm hoping. I'm hoping it gets better from here.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: It'll probably be a good, like, therapeutic end-in-the-end therapy. kind
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: of fun, hopefully.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Oh, no, I think it will, especially us being able
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: to talk together and being able to be so candid
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: on a podcast. Like you can't say anything really on
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: YouTube without getting flagged. So that's what inspired me to
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: do the podcast is there's so much more I wanted
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: to say that you can never say on YouTube without
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: getting your channel shut down.
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: So she called me one day and she was like,
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: you know, I've been doing these on the YouTube, but
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: there's so much more.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I want to say.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Would you ever be willing to like do a podcast
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: about it? And I was like, And like I said,
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: my whole experience looking back on it is like 95%, 98%, whatever, positive.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: I don't have ill feelings to Kendra or Hef or
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: Kevin or anybody. And so I was like, yeah, I
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: totally would do it.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: And sometimes time, you know, it's like time heals all wounds.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: Sometimes it is the time. Like sometimes it does take
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: a long time to get over something, especially when it's
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: a relationship and work. And in the big, you know,
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: public eye. It's like a three-fold, you know. Would, when
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: you guys were, like, at the mansion doing stuff, would any, like,
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: of these old crony friends of his, would they ever, like,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: hit on you or be like, can you bring a
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: girl for me or anything?
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: They definitely knew not to come anywhere near any of
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Hef's girls.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: There was, like, a golden rule. They were barely allowed
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: to talk to us.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: And what did you think of that part in... in it? Oh, God.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: In the secrets. It was just like coming to me.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: There's so much. Where the, like, the doctor that you
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: said you met the doctor. The doctor.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: And there was like, I want to say I saw
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: it on there, like that the daughter thought maybe they
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: had a romantic relationship, Hef and the doctor. Like there
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: was things that came in later that like, I remember
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: hearing like that he, when he was having sex, had
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: male porn on and that kind of thing, which kind
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: of came out later.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: What did you think of all those stories?
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Well, I think maybe they were both in the same
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: orgy in the 70s or something like that.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: But when I was with Hef, I always really liked
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: his doctor.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: And I never sensed, like they were close friends, but
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: I never sensed anything like romantic or sexual between them.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: And I always felt like the doctor was super supportive
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: of my and Hef's relationship too.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: But also like things change over the decades. Like things
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: might have been completely different in the 70s than they
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: were in the 2000s.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: So I don't know what went on back then. Right.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: They might have had some special... Bond.
- 1:10:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Maybe they grew out of it and the relationship evolved.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Or maybe it was one of those things that because
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: he saw himself as such like a sexual revolution.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Maybe he tried it.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Oh, no, he definitely tried it.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Like he's admitted to that. So he's tried. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Nothing wrong with that. But yeah. Yeah. But that was
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I don't know about him and his doctor. Yeah. Yeah. Oh,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: my God. But it's crazy because.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: If you like Google or like I Googled something about
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: it and then an article came up that was like
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: the love of Hef's life and it showed a picture
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: of the doctor. And I'm like, he would turn in
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: his grave. It was just so weird.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Well, tell everybody where they can follow you guys and
