- 0:03Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back to another episode of Good to Know.
- 0:18Speaker 1: This next guest that I'm going to bring on that
- 0:21Speaker 1: we're going to get to know is a comedian that's
- 0:23Speaker 1: been in the game for years and is hilarious. And
- 0:26Speaker 1: I've got to work with him right when I was
- 0:28Speaker 1: real young in comedy and then Ran into him all
- 0:31Speaker 1: through the time, my timeline of comedy. You guys, really
- 0:35Speaker 1: in for a treat. Give it up for Shang Forbes.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Everybody give it up. I sound like a host.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Oh, that was very host-like.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah. And I said Forbes, too. I don't know if
- 0:46Speaker 1: you guys, because you don't go by your, I'm sorry,
- 0:48Speaker 1: do you go by the full name?
- 0:50Speaker 2: No, I don't go by my full name.
- 0:52Speaker 3: The reason is a guy at the Lab Factory years
- 0:55Speaker 3: ago when I was visiting California said, You should go by.
- 0:58Speaker 4: One name like Shang or Shear or Sting or Bono.
- 1:04Speaker 4: And then I just kept it that way, which I'm
- 1:07Speaker 4: not that I compare to any of them or Madonna.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Because, you know, me and her are so similar. She
- 1:17Speaker 3: looks like a puppet now. She looks like she's got
- 1:21Speaker 3: so much stuff done to her face. She literally looks like,
- 1:25Speaker 3: what's that little puppet from Saw?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she looks like Annabelle, right?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 1:31Speaker 1: No, the Billy. His name's Billy, the puppet.
- 1:34Speaker 2: The puppet. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Everyone thinks the puppet's name is Jigsaw, but it's not.
- 1:41Speaker 1: His name is Billy.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Billy. Okay, well, she looks like Billy.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I mean, I still sleep with her, just to say it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: She can still get it.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I mean, come on. I mean, come on, man. Come on,
- 1:53Speaker 2: who wouldn't do it now? Come on. there we go
- 1:56Speaker 2: with my hands I.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Don't know what to do can't help it it's so
- 2:03Speaker 1: funny too when the mic goes out on a comedy
- 2:07Speaker 1: show and you're like what do I do with my
- 2:09Speaker 1: hands while I'm yelling I know I've.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Had that happen a lot of times I just start
- 2:15Speaker 3: throwing like karate fists I start doing this it throws
- 2:19Speaker 3: the crowd off they go what is going on what
- 2:23Speaker 3: am I watching What about watching?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It's funny. I was, I was saying, uh, cause we
- 2:29Speaker 1: worked together a long, long time ago. Uh, when, when
- 2:32Speaker 1: Tommy T's, uh, yeah, when they had a competition and
- 2:35Speaker 1: they had a San Francisco location.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It was a trip, man. Cause like, uh, yeah, you
- 2:41Speaker 1: were the host.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You were hosting the, uh, it was like a $ 20, 000
- 2:44Speaker 1: grand prize thing. And it was pretty cool, man. We
- 2:46Speaker 1: went all the way to the finals and, uh, Lance
- 2:48Speaker 1: Woods was there too. Uh, yeah, it was gang of us.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It was funny because, um, uh, you were super like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: cause like, uh, a little starstruck. Cause I was like,
- 2:58Speaker 1: Oh shit.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 1: No, definitely. Cause like, you know, you were on, you
- 3:02Speaker 1: were on Martin.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And you, I've been on a few things.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Ton of shit. Yeah. And, and, um, a comic view and,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and I was just like, Oh shit. And, um, And
- 3:12Speaker 1: you were so cool. You were just like the first
- 3:14Speaker 1: encounter of a celebrity comic to me. And I was like, dude,
- 3:17Speaker 1: he's so cool. This was fun. It was fun. Because
- 3:20Speaker 1: you stood there and chatted too and talked and just
- 3:22Speaker 1: gave a lot of insight, which was really– thanks for that,
- 3:26Speaker 1: by the way. No, cool.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And none of it has worked for me.
- 3:29Speaker 3: No, I– you know what the wild shit is? I
- 3:34Speaker 3: was talking to somebody. People are like, why aren't you
- 3:37Speaker 3: as big as this person or that person? I'm like,
- 3:39Speaker 3: I'm on the path that I'm on. I live well,
- 3:44Speaker 3: especially in this economy and the way things are going.
- 3:46Speaker 3: We have a psycho president. I do a lot of
- 3:53Speaker 3: edgy political material. I'm still getting booking. Now, some clubs
- 3:57Speaker 3: won't book me, no matter how much I draw or
- 4:01Speaker 3: how well I do on stage.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Those people, I just go, you know what? Keep it moving.
- 4:09Speaker 2: now I wish bad shit on them I hope they
- 4:12Speaker 2: can get sickness.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And AIDS at the same time I hope they you
- 4:17Speaker 3: know I really do hope that you know that something
- 4:20Speaker 3: bad happens to.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Them but that's inside my mind I don't say this
- 4:24Speaker 1: shit no no but the thing about it is like
- 4:29Speaker 1: with all that being said like that stuff too but
- 4:31Speaker 1: you're still respected within the community of comics and still
- 4:34Speaker 1: like you're a comedian like dog like nobody can take
- 4:37Speaker 1: that away like That's what I... I even took that
- 4:40Speaker 1: away from when we talked that one time, too. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: was like, yeah, that's what I want. I want... Like,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I like the respect of that. Like, no one can
- 4:46Speaker 1: shit on your stand-up or your craft because I know
- 4:49Speaker 1: how to do it. Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Well, no, that's the main thing. What I get is people,
- 4:54Speaker 3: they might not say I'm... You know, I've had people
- 4:56Speaker 3: say I'm not funny.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I get that.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I'm not going to be funny in real life. But
- 4:59Speaker 3: I've had people say stuff like, yeah, well, whatever. Your
- 5:02Speaker 3: eyebrows are fucked up.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Like... I'm.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Like, okay, you... You got me with that one. What,
- 5:09Speaker 2: what did that mean? Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 3: But they don't, they don't go after my standup as
- 5:14Speaker 3: much as my success. They're like, well, why aren't you? Well,
- 5:17Speaker 3: why aren't you on the show with Kevin Hubbard?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Why aren't you? I get that a lot.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And then I tell them to shut up and then
- 5:25Speaker 2: I threaten their family. You know what? You never threatened them.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It fucks their head up. But you go, Hey man,
- 5:31Speaker 2: your daughter, I saw your daughter walking to school yesterday.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Be really careful.
- 5:35Speaker 3: She's really terrible. But that's how I get a lot
- 5:39Speaker 3: of my bookings, though. In fact, Mic Drop, that's how
- 5:43Speaker 3: I got Mic Drop.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Oh, yeah?
- 5:46Speaker 1: No.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Let me tell you something about Mic Drop.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Let's go there.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I've been getting bookings.
- 5:59Speaker 2: They just book me at all the other rooms. But one-nighters.
- 6:02Speaker 2: They book me at one-nighters.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You're there the 6th of March.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I'm there the 6th of March in the Gold Room.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I'm there the 6th of March in the Gold Room.
- 6:11Speaker 3: The Gold Room is smaller.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I've done the Big Room.
- 6:15Speaker 3: We did pretty good numbers in the Big Room, but
- 6:16Speaker 3: they're already all booked up, so I can't get a
- 6:18Speaker 3: date there. The thing is, it's hard to get weekends.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I get weekends at the Funny Bones. I get weekends
- 6:27Speaker 3: at the Improvs, the Lab Factories. Can't get a weekend
- 6:33Speaker 3: And I would like to eventually work hard and get
- 6:37Speaker 3: a shot at a weekend, a Friday, Saturday, because it's
- 6:39Speaker 3: different when you have to draw on a Friday at
- 6:43Speaker 3: 10 as opposed to a regular show. And I have
- 6:46Speaker 3: the TV credits to warrant it. I have the social
- 6:49Speaker 3: media that's not monster. But it's a social media era.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It's a new game.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And I know people that are funny as baby cancer.
- 7:00Speaker 3: but they outdraw me 30 to one. Or they just
- 7:06Speaker 3: do crowd work of old shit that I know is
- 7:10Speaker 3: stock old shit. Like, hey, so you're a doctor. Well,
- 7:13Speaker 3: why don't you work on this bone? And you went
- 7:19Speaker 3: viral with that?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And Mic Drop as a business has to book people
- 7:24Speaker 3: like that. I've seen some people on the lineup with
- 7:26Speaker 3: Mic Drop and I'm saying everybody. Where I've seen them
- 7:28Speaker 3: on the lineup, I go, This dude is barely an
- 7:32Speaker 3: open mic-er. But from a business sense, I absolutely would
- 7:35Speaker 3: book him. These Kill Tony comics, you pieces of shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No,
- 7:45Speaker 3: I'm starting some controversy.
- 7:48Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 7:50Speaker 2: A lot of the Kill Tony comics, they know what
- 7:52Speaker 2: it is. You got three minutes. You got three minutes.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You did good on there. Kill Tony has put you on.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I got it. But in the real comedy world, you'll
- 8:00Speaker 2: get smoked.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Put me or Earthquake up before you and see what happens.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You, you, you, you bitches.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Well, that's what I always tell a lot of these people,
- 8:12Speaker 1: a lot of these cats that like comedy right now.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'm like, you like comics, jokes that we all got
- 8:16Speaker 1: rid of. Because every joke they wrote, like when they're
- 8:20Speaker 1: year four in, yeah, we all wrote those jokes already.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And we're like, you know what? This isn't original. This
- 8:25Speaker 1: isn't good. So I'm glad I'm not recorded doing that. Right.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And it's like, and then we became better as a
- 8:30Speaker 1: comedian and found the voice and figured out the level
- 8:33Speaker 1: of difficulty to get to the punchline was the true,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you know, um, craft. And, uh, yeah. And it's like,
- 8:40Speaker 1: it just blows my brain to him. Like what the fuck?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Like they'll put somebody on stage that just drinks orange
- 8:44Speaker 1: juice fast and they got a ton of followers and like,
- 8:46Speaker 1: all right, we've got a weekend. I was like, what
- 8:47Speaker 1: the fuck, bro?
- 8:49Speaker 3: That man, dude, that man, he wasn't funny, but man,
- 8:52Speaker 3: the way he drank that OJ, man.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Can I get a picture with him? Can I get
- 8:56Speaker 1: a picture with him?
- 8:57Speaker 2: Hey, can I have a photo with you, bro?
- 8:59Speaker 3: And they hold up a little piece of orange juice. No,
- 9:04Speaker 3: but I get it. I get it. And so part
- 9:08Speaker 3: of me is.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Like being old school and being like, because I'm old.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I'm 75 years old.
- 9:13Speaker 1: No, you're not.
- 9:15Speaker 5: No.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 9:18Speaker 2: But I am old, though.
- 9:24Speaker 3: No, but I think that comedy clubs have to do
- 9:27Speaker 3: what they got to do about it jokingly but there's
- 9:32Speaker 3: nothing I can do about it as long as I
- 9:33Speaker 3: put asses in seats and do a good job but
- 9:36Speaker 3: even a good job doesn't matter I'm telling you it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Is asses in seats and it is.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Social media following that translates and if it doesn't translate
- 9:45Speaker 3: I mean I know comments that are killers but their
- 9:49Speaker 3: social media is not as big as somebody else Rene
- 9:51Speaker 3: Vaca is a killer when it comes to draw.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You see i stopped there.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I heard that the um but i was gonna say
- 10:05Speaker 1: too uh uh speaking of comedy clubs and stuff like
- 10:07Speaker 1: that i remember you telling me or you not you
- 10:10Speaker 1: telling me you holding a record for what was it
- 10:12Speaker 1: in uh like The most stages in one night.
- 10:15Speaker 2: In New York?
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I had the record, like official record, where I
- 10:21Speaker 3: did nine shows in one night. I had nine headline
- 10:24Speaker 3: shows in one night in New York. And I got
- 10:27Speaker 3: beat twice since then.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah. But wasn't that exhausting?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I started at 7.30, got done at 2.30 in
- 10:36Speaker 3: the morning. Fuck. Yeah, and we had a camera crew
- 10:40Speaker 3: from MTV follow me to each club to show that
- 10:43Speaker 3: I did it.
- 10:44Speaker 2: And then I think that I got beat by, what's
- 10:48Speaker 2: the Asian cat's name? He beat me. He did 11.
- 10:51Speaker 1: He did 11. Asian cat. I'm trying to think.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Steve Byrne.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Oh, Steve Byrne. Okay, Steve Byrne.
- 10:58Speaker 2: All right, right on. I think, yeah, that's the person
- 11:00Speaker 2: to beat.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 2: And he did a fantastic job. And there's nothing I
- 11:04Speaker 2: can do. I'm not doing that again. Yeah.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm like, that's so exhausting.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that ain't gonna happen again.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I remember one time, uh, like, cause I, I came,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I started headlining on the tail end of when they, um,
- 11:17Speaker 1: started when they were doing three, three shows a night, like, like, yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So I, when I first started, that's when, that's what
- 11:23Speaker 1: they were doing, but they, they started phasing that out.
- 11:25Speaker 1: But I remember being done after the third show and
- 11:28Speaker 1: being like, like wiped, like wiped out. And I was like, dude, um,
- 11:32Speaker 1: Harry used to do it here at the laugh factory
- 11:34Speaker 1: in Vegas. I think he was the last one to
- 11:36Speaker 1: kind of like do three shows. a weekend, but I
- 11:39Speaker 1: was like, dude, I can't, I can't remember if I
- 11:41Speaker 1: said this joke, this, this set or not.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 11:44Speaker 3: You know, I, I used to do, do the three
- 11:47Speaker 3: shows and that I would be tired, but I, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 3: it's more money.
- 11:52Speaker 2: It's more people getting to see you.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Um, you know, I, I just feel like we're, I
- 11:58Speaker 3: string words together to make strangers laugh at me.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean, when you're still, you're high energy too though.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I'm high energy yeah I'm like yeah like if somebody
- 12:09Speaker 3: comes see me I'm going for it but no no
- 12:14Speaker 3: but see but the thing is it's a blessing and
- 12:17Speaker 3: a curse I gotta follow me and Alonzo Bowden were
- 12:20Speaker 3: talking about this once I gotta follow all these millionaire
- 12:23Speaker 3: comics because they can't follow me and that's just a
- 12:26Speaker 3: fact it's not people.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Are like that's pretty cocky saying that.
- 12:30Speaker 3: No it's the truth not because of just high energy
- 12:33Speaker 3: if you're hitting them like smashing And then you've got
- 12:36Speaker 3: to go up after a dude that you know is
- 12:38Speaker 3: a killer. But you have, like, Eliza Schlesinger has six,
- 12:42Speaker 3: seven Netflix specials. Eliza, her celebrity can follow me, but
- 12:49Speaker 3: not her comedy. But she's good. She's doing great. A
- 12:54Speaker 3: lot of these comics are doing great. And I've just
- 12:56Speaker 3: got to figure out my way of getting to the
- 12:58Speaker 3: next level.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I mean, I love doing Vegas.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I'm moving to Vegas this year, and I'm trying to
- 13:03Speaker 3: get the new Laugh Factory out.
- 13:05Speaker 2: He hit me up for a bail, so I'm waiting
- 13:07Speaker 2: on him.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Because you're at the L.A. Comedy Club, too. Yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: a lot?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it like once or twice a year.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Love those guys. Love Matt and Joaquin, all those guys.
- 13:17Speaker 1: What's up, Nikki?
- 13:18Speaker 3: There we go.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Hey, what happened, Nikki? Are you there? I'm here.
- 13:21Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Okay. I was like, what would happen? I think the
- 13:26Speaker 1: internet cut out or something because it dropped everything. So
- 13:30Speaker 1: this is our last portion of the show. And what
- 13:32Speaker 1: we'll do is pretty much just for the shits and giggles.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So each comedy club has their own podcast representatives. And
- 13:39Speaker 1: then they'll have their own comics.
- 13:41Speaker 2: They have a mic drop in Vegas now?
- 13:43Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no. Like, they have the... Give
- 13:45Speaker 1: it time. I'm San Diego.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I represent San Diego.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Give it time.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I hope so. I hope so.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully, yeah. And then someone who represents Chandler, someone
- 13:52Speaker 1: else represents Detroit, and so on and so forth. They
- 13:53Speaker 1: all have separate podcasts. Right. And so you're going to
- 13:57Speaker 1: go up against their week three comic with these trivia questions. Now,
- 14:01Speaker 1: no one wins anything. It's just like you're king of the.
- 14:03Speaker 2: So there's no gifts?
- 14:05Speaker 1: King of the week. It's clout. It's all clout.
- 14:08Speaker 5: It's all clout?
- 14:08Speaker 2: Okay, I'll take that. Okay.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Let's go, brother. In his day and age.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Okay, so here we go. Here's the first trivia question,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and it's in entertainment, and it goes, how many Oscars
- 14:18Speaker 1: has Martin Scorsese won?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Three.
- 14:23Speaker 1: No, he has only won one.
- 14:26Speaker 2: He didn't win for Reggie Bull?
- 14:28Speaker 1: No, nuh-uh. Right? That's insane. He didn't win until.
- 14:32Speaker 2: What? What?
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he won. The first Oscar he won was, I think,
- 14:36Speaker 1: The Departed. I think it's The Departed where he finally won.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Well, good.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, The Departed deserved it, but I thought he... Okay.
- 14:41Speaker 2: All right. So I already lost one. I missed one.
- 14:44Speaker 8: Damn it.
- 14:45Speaker 1: All right. Number two. Question number two. Name one of
- 14:50Speaker 1: the three lines of defense in the immune system.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Wow. No, you know what? A loaded gun.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's a defense.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Okay, no. Wait, wait.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Tell me you're American without telling me you're American.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Let me tell you something, brother.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I watched the Kid Rock fucking halftime show and I
- 15:18Speaker 3: loved it, brother.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I love fishing. I love going on and playing my truck.
- 15:24Speaker 1: That kid rocks.
- 15:25Speaker 3: A kid rock who's the best lip syncer I've ever
- 15:28Speaker 3: seen in my goddamn life.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Oh, all right.
- 15:31Speaker 3: You said there's the three defenses in the immune system?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah. You can name one out of, there's three of them,
- 15:41Speaker 1: but yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I don't know. Cinnamon? Cinnamon.
- 15:51Speaker 1: No, it's either the skin. White blood cells or antibodies? Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 1: those are the three lines of defense.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I am the dumbest person. But you know what? I'm
- 16:05Speaker 2: dumb but smart. I'm one of the dumbest smart people.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Because I can tell you about thermodynamics and kinetic energy,
- 16:11Speaker 3: and I can also tell you how to code.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I know how to code.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I don't know any of that. But no, that's the
- 16:15Speaker 1: good thing about this thing. It's called good to know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So it's like, oh, yeah, good to know. So now
- 16:19Speaker 1: you're smarter than you were before.
- 16:21Speaker 2: But I still miss, too.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. Thank you for reminding me.
- 16:25Speaker 3: There we go. Two.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Thanks a lot. Nikki, when I see you in these streets,
- 16:31Speaker 2: breakdance battle. I'm going to do coin flips. Coin flips, bro.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Yes, I'm going to put some cardboard down and me
- 16:39Speaker 3: and you are going to dance it out.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'll bring my tracksuit, my Adidas tracksuit.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I'm ready to go.
- 16:44Speaker 7: Yeah, you don't want none of that. Nikki's pretty feisty.
- 16:51Speaker 7: She didn't hesitate. Oh, I'll bring my tracksuit, bitch.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Oh my God, Nikki.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I'll leave the chains at home.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Don't worry about it.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Okay, cool. Wow.
- 17:01Speaker 1: She travels with linoleum in her backpack?
- 17:03Speaker 2: I know, in her backpack. She pulls it out, drop
- 17:06Speaker 2: the beat, brother.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah. All right, so what is it? Third question.
- 17:10Speaker 2: None of this is planned. Like, we're not even following, like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: the format.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The virtual format, yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 17:19Speaker 1: No, it's all good. It's golden. I love this. This
- 17:21Speaker 1: is great, because it's like, what you got? It beats
- 17:23Speaker 1: the alternative, you know, where it's like, fucking, it's like,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm a dentist now. I'm pulling teeth.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Oh, I got you.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I got you. Yeah, no, no, this is golden. I'm
- 17:30Speaker 1: not even tripping. Okay, question three is a geography question.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Where is Machu Picchu located?
- 17:42Speaker 2: I want to say Mexico, but.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It's close. It's in that direction.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Colombia?
- 17:53Speaker 1: No, no, it's Peru.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Peru.
- 17:55Speaker 2: See, I don't know none of that. I don't know
- 17:59Speaker 2: none of that.
- 18:00Speaker 3: But if you want to talk about politics, I absolutely
- 18:05Speaker 3: got that shit.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Because I've been.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Addicted to that, watching MSNBC and CNN and all that stuff.
- 18:10Speaker 3: And I watch Fox for the fantasy. Because there's a
- 18:17Speaker 3: lot of fantasy. Well, they were terrorists and they showed
- 18:19Speaker 3: up in Minneapolis just to attack us in our way
- 18:23Speaker 3: of life. But no, I like this certain stuff. I'm
- 18:27Speaker 3: like super duper knowledgeable.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Knowledgeable.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah. And then if you ask me, like, where's Scandinavia?
- 18:36Speaker 3: I would be like, is there a comedy club there?
- 18:40Speaker 2: If there's a comedy club there, I know.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, right? That's so funny. That's how we know geography.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Definitely. Like, there's a Chuckles in Scandinavia, in Oslo.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Oh, man. Hey, man, you got the Booker's number? Yeah, dude.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Who books that? Who books that? Do they still book it?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Scandinavia. I'd love to do a... Nah, man.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Does Alexa still book that? No, Alexa got fired, like,
- 19:04Speaker 1: three years ago.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Oh, man, that's messed up, man. Who's the new Booker, though? Damn.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Dude. That's a story of comics life, too. It's like
- 19:10Speaker 1: you've spent all this time getting into this club, and
- 19:15Speaker 1: then the bookers change.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Oh, I can tell you a story that happened with
- 19:18Speaker 3: the Comedy Store. I was a non-paid regular at the
- 19:21Speaker 3: Comedy Store in Hollywood.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Non-paid.
- 19:23Speaker 3: So I didn't hit them up that much with spots
- 19:25Speaker 3: because I'm a paid national comic and easily Googleable. And
- 19:31Speaker 3: they got a new booker, and the new booker made
- 19:34Speaker 3: me re-showcase, even though I had recommendations up their ass,
- 19:40Speaker 3: and told me I couldn't, well, we're not inviting you
- 19:43Speaker 3: back to be a non-paid regular. And it was at
- 19:46Speaker 3: a comedy store. I don't care anymore. It was at
- 19:48Speaker 3: a comedy store. And it was like, wait a minute.
- 19:51Speaker 3: And I killed on my showcase. If I didn't kill,
- 19:55Speaker 3: I'd be like, well, I didn't do a good presentation
- 19:58Speaker 3: of myself. But I've been doing it long enough where
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'm okay with that.
- 20:01Speaker 2: But no, I killed.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So then I found out with some of the bookers
- 20:05Speaker 3: that they're MAGA fans. And you say something that is
- 20:09Speaker 3: against Trump, which I have a Trump joke because he
- 20:12Speaker 3: is orange. Um, and so they, but the, you know, reality,
- 20:18Speaker 3: who needs reality and truth, um, nowadays.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Um, and, and, you know, and.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Pam Bondi told me to tell you that, uh, you know,
- 20:29Speaker 5: and the stock market is up and we don't care
- 20:32Speaker 5: about Americans getting shot in the face.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Um, but, um, Yeah, so it is weird when you
- 20:40Speaker 3: have to deal with people that are MAGA, and they
- 20:41Speaker 3: happen to be. I'm not saying that this person is MAGA,
- 20:46Speaker 3: because I don't want to say that. And even though
- 20:50Speaker 3: you got the red hat on and the shirt, I'm
- 20:53Speaker 3: not going to say you that.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I'm not going to put the jacket on you.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Right, I'm not going to put that on you. But
- 20:58Speaker 2: you got the hat, though. You got the hat, even
- 21:00Speaker 2: though I saw you in the footage of January 6th.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I'm not going to put that out there.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Imagine you see somebody on January 6th in the video.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You go to get a booking from the booker and
- 21:12Speaker 3: the booker is the dude that you saw in the
- 21:14Speaker 3: video on January 6th. What are the chances Carlos Rodriguez
- 21:19Speaker 3: is going to get booked?
- 21:21Speaker 1: Hey, Carlos, go back to your own country.
- 21:28Speaker 3: That's what we're doing with Bad Bunny right now.
- 21:32Speaker 2: They're telling him to go back to his own country
- 21:34Speaker 2: and he keeps saying, I'm American. And they don't get it.
- 21:39Speaker 2: They're like, I speak in that Spanish.
- 21:43Speaker 1: That dead language.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I know, dead.
- 21:44Speaker 3: And somebody said that. I wanted to stab him with
- 21:46Speaker 3: a fork. Jesus Christ.
- 21:52Speaker 1: No, it's funny because you're like, I'm hella educated and
- 21:54Speaker 1: all that other stuff. I was like, okay, well, cool.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Here's question four. Who plays the piano in The Muppets?
- 22:01Speaker 6: I can tell you played the drums yeah yeah that
- 22:10Speaker 6: was one of the questions too like uh the uh
- 22:12Speaker 6: the next week uh and cory michaelis uh yeah he
- 22:16Speaker 6: uh he didn't know who the uh do you know
- 22:18Speaker 6: you know.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Who the drum who played the drums yeah animal yeah
- 22:21Speaker 1: he didn't know yeah i was like dude it's animal
- 22:23Speaker 1: that's crazy.
- 22:23Speaker 2: But the piano and the piano man that was What's
- 22:27Speaker 2: the cool dude with the voice? Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But I don't know his name. You know what? I
- 22:35Speaker 2: was watching snuff films when I was a child.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I wasn't watching Muppets.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I wasn't watching no goddamn Muppets.
- 22:43Speaker 3: My father had me watching reality show type shit.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yeah. It's Ralph. He's the dog. Oh, yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Wow. Ralph. Why didn't you know that?
- 23:00Speaker 1: I like the Muppets, man. I had a girlfriend and
- 23:03Speaker 1: she didn't like Muppets. And I just really was like,
- 23:05Speaker 1: what am.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I doing with you?
- 23:06Speaker 1: You broke up with her?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:08Speaker 1: What am I doing with you?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Because she's a communist. Yeah. You don't like the Muppets?
- 23:14Speaker 2: Get out of my house, whore.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I was really upset. It really bothered me. I'm like,
- 23:20Speaker 1: so no Kermit, no Fozzie at all. You don't find Fozzie.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I love the, you know what? Bert and Ernie were
- 23:27Speaker 3: my favorite because the best gay couple ever.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yeah. In the closet gay couple.
- 23:35Speaker 2: They were gay.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Come on.
- 23:38Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with that. I'm not against that. But
- 23:43Speaker 2: they were definitely cornholing each other. But you know what?
- 23:48Speaker 2: They didn't have assholes. They were Muppets. Because they were Muppets.
- 23:54Speaker 3: So anybody get mad at me about me joking about it,
- 23:58Speaker 3: they were Muppets.
- 23:59Speaker 1: They're not real.
- 24:02Speaker 6: Now that we've ruined my childhood, what's question number five?
- 24:07Speaker 2: Now I'm going to go on a quest. I didn't
- 24:13Speaker 2: mean to hurt Nicky.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You might get this one. This one might be up
- 24:18Speaker 1: the alley, though. What temperature does water freeze at?
- 24:21Speaker 3: 32?
- 24:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 3: You're on the board.
- 24:26Speaker 1: On the board. On the motherfucking board. I'm feeling confident.
- 24:32Speaker 1: This is kind of a trick question. It's a movie question.
- 24:39Speaker 1: In Fight Club, Edward Norton's character, what is the name
- 24:43Speaker 1: of his character in the movie?
- 24:45Speaker 2: I'm not a big Fight Club fan, but... Oh, yeah, okay. No,
- 24:52Speaker 2: I don't know that one.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a narrator. It's so weird because he never
- 24:57Speaker 1: says his name. Everyone always thinks it's Tyler Durden, but
- 24:59Speaker 1: that's Brad Pitt.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Right, but that's actually... His.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Alter ego, so he never gives his name.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That's the metaphor in the movie, but I've only watched
- 25:07Speaker 3: the movie once.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And I thought, white people?
- 25:11Speaker 5: Wow.
- 25:12Speaker 3: No, because I thought, how bored are you? It's like, yeah, man,
- 25:16Speaker 3: let's go in a fucking basement and beat the shit
- 25:18Speaker 3: out of each other.
- 25:19Speaker 1: That's all we have in the Midwest.
- 25:21Speaker 2: You got nothing else to do? Not really.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Cornhole.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Yeah, cornhole. We cornhole. That's what we do.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Patrice O'Neal was like, I was watching this shit, and
- 25:30Speaker 1: he goes, this is some shit I shouldn't be seeing. Yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I watched the movie, and I literally went, what?
- 25:40Speaker 3: What's going on with your life where you're that bored?
- 25:42Speaker 3: It's like, man, I got to start beating the shit
- 25:45Speaker 3: out of people in basements.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I need to get slugged in the face, dog.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Yeah, man.
- 25:49Speaker 1: That's what I need.
- 25:50Speaker 2: That's what I need in my.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Life, man. That's what some of these kids need, though,
- 25:53Speaker 1: on some real shit.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Oh, wow, wow.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Damn.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And that's the dark side of Carlos.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I was like, man, it's crazy because they
- 26:01Speaker 1: talk hella crazy, hella sideways, and then all of a sudden,
- 26:05Speaker 1: when they... I don't know, man, that's the thing, too.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Like, they....
- 26:10Speaker 1: They talk all this big game they go on the
- 26:11Speaker 1: internet and it's like okay well I see you and
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna see you and then I see you and
- 26:15Speaker 1: then it's like oh you're a bully you're you're you
- 26:17Speaker 1: know because I'm not afraid of course you too you're
- 26:19Speaker 1: not afraid of confrontation not at all and some of
- 26:22Speaker 1: these people are afraid of confrontation and it's like and
- 26:24Speaker 1: then all of a sudden you're the bad guy I'm
- 26:25Speaker 1: the bad guy because like yo you're gonna get attacked
- 26:29Speaker 1: someone gotta get this ass whooping somebody gotta.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Get it that's why you know what I'm not afraid
- 26:34Speaker 3: of confrontation that's why I talk shit to Nicky That's fair.
- 26:39Speaker 3: But then she talked shit back and then I got shook.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I got shook because she was.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Like, oh, oh, oh. You're protected by the screen.
- 26:46Speaker 6: It's fine.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Nikki, you're lucky we're on the screen, Nikki.
- 26:54Speaker 5: I'm so scared.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Okay, here we go. Okay, question seven.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:56Speaker 1: No, six. No, that was six. Six we already did. Ah, shit.
- 27:02Speaker 1: So question number seven is, what's the capital of California?
- 27:06Speaker 2: Sacramento.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Boom. All right.
- 27:08Speaker 2: There's certain stuff I know, but there's other stuff. Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Well, that was capitalism and political stuff. I was like, yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 1: he's definitely going to get this one. Oh, here's one.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Here's a deep cut. What is the name of Outkast's
- 27:21Speaker 1: first album?
- 27:26Speaker 2: Southern Playalistic.
- 27:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Yes. Southern playlist of Cadillac music. Yeah.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Damn, son.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Oh, fuck yeah. It's a crazy, it's like
- 27:34Speaker 1: all one word and shit.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Southern playlist.
- 27:37Speaker 3: And I listen to metal. I listen to metal, but
- 27:39Speaker 3: I love hip hop too. But I primarily grew up
- 27:42Speaker 3: on metal.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Oh, that's interesting.
- 27:44Speaker 3: I grew up on hardcore, like, and punk, punk, and
- 27:50Speaker 3: it's called, and metal, like, not metal, like, you know,
- 27:55Speaker 3: I'm talking about deep in.
- 27:57Speaker 1: The cut, evil, Not death metal, right?
- 28:01Speaker 2: Some death metal, punch baby type stuff. Punch babies.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Punch babies.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I have a band t-shirt that says punch babies.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That's so weird. How did that work out? I don't know.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I used to mosh.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I used to mosh and we would go after skinheads
- 28:20Speaker 3: and we would fuck them up on purpose. We would
- 28:23Speaker 3: do crazy shit like see how many skinheads we could
- 28:27Speaker 3: make bleed. I was doing the Lord's work. Yeah, I
- 28:30Speaker 3: was doing the Lord's work.
- 28:32Speaker 1: You know what, man?
- 28:34Speaker 2: Sorry, man. That's God's work, brother. It has nothing to
- 28:36Speaker 2: do with me. It's the Lord working through me to
- 28:38Speaker 2: knock your teeth out.
- 28:39Speaker 1: That's all. Okay, so number nine. Question number nine is
- 28:44Speaker 1: how many championships does Michael Jordan have?
- 28:48Speaker 5: Four.
- 28:50Speaker 1: No, he has six.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I was going to say six, but I wasn't really
- 28:55Speaker 2: going to say six.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I was going to say six, but I I didn't
- 28:59Speaker 3: think it was that many, but God damn it, Michael Jordan.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got Tom Brady and one of the other ones.
- 29:06Speaker 1: We were talking about how he has a ring for
- 29:09Speaker 1: every day of the week.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but Tom Brady, I just watched that Tom Brady roast.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Tom Brady is definitely the GOAT. But the Steelers are
- 29:19Speaker 3: tied for the most Super Bowls.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. Yeah, something like that.
- 29:24Speaker 2: The Steelers got six Super Bowls.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Steelers and the Patriots.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Patriots. Patriots. What? Not now. Patriots.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Not now.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Oh, what happened, Patriots?
- 29:37Speaker 1: They got that ass.
- 29:38Speaker 2: No, come on, man. They got shut the fuck down.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Let's keep it real. Yeah. And everybody was, I was talking.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Shit online, and people were threatening me and saying.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I'm like, when I see you, I'm going to see you, man.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Don't ever talk that way about me. And I said, okay.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And then one time, I took a little video of
- 29:55Speaker 2: me holding a really big knife, like, just smiling. This
- 29:59Speaker 2: is how crazy I am. And I sent it to
- 30:01Speaker 2: each person that made a comment.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Oh, my God. You're nuts, man.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah, how about that?
- 30:08Speaker 1: How about that for confrontation?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: For confrontation. All right, so, okay, here's final Jeopardy question.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Final one.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You can wager your three points or you can wager
- 30:16Speaker 1: no points. It's okay.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Wow, you're making the stakes high, man.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And it's a movie. The category is movies.
- 30:26Speaker 2: All right, let's go.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Okay, you're going to wager all three? Yeah. Boom, okay,
- 30:32Speaker 1: here we go. We're going to wager all three. In
- 30:35Speaker 1: Back to the Future, what year did Marty McFly go
- 30:39Speaker 1: back to? 1952.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Close.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I'll give you another try.
- 30:48Speaker 2: What was the... What was the.
- 30:50Speaker 8: 19... Is it 1950? I haven't seen that movie.
- 31:01Speaker 2: In so long.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, it's 1955. You were close because
- 31:06Speaker 1: you were in the 50s. It's 30 years back. I
- 31:08Speaker 1: think it was in 1985 and went 30 years back.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I wagered my three points, and now I'm at.
- 31:14Speaker 2: You know what? We don't need this sound effect. I
- 31:20Speaker 2: told you.
- 31:21Speaker 7: I don't know why, Carlos, you got this psychopathic lady, Nikki.
- 31:26Speaker 5: This crazy lady saying crazy stuff to me.
- 31:29Speaker 8: Between you two.
- 31:30Speaker 2: You know what's a trip? They say if Back.
- 31:33Speaker 1: To the Future happened now, it would go back to 1996.
- 31:42Speaker 1: And it would be fun. That'd be crazy. I would love, yeah,
