- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists.
- 0:07Speaker 1: This week on the show, we have a very popular
- 0:10Speaker 1: YouTube channel visiting in Dharman Studios.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Darman, with twenty five point two million subscribers as of
- 0:18Speaker 2: today's recording date, is one of the most popular sketch channels,
- 0:25Speaker 2: channels of short films, TV show channels, scripted content channels
- 0:32Speaker 2: on YouTube.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Known for their amazingly moral plays, Darman knows how to
- 0:39Speaker 3: get the views and get people talking about their channel.
- 0:44Speaker 4: So find yourself a rich woman, find yourself a poor woman,
- 0:50Speaker 4: and let's see what happens when they get together. Let's
- 0:53Speaker 4: listen in.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Should we Maybe for people who don't know the channel.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I couldn't imagine you don't know the channel, an it's.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Just crazy to me thinking about something that doesn't know
- 1:07Speaker 3: what Darman is.
- 1:08Speaker 4: I know, because what we're doing is so important and
- 1:13Speaker 4: we really you must be living under a rock, but
- 1:16Speaker 4: we will explain.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's really the most special stuff on YouTube. It's the
- 1:21Speaker 2: most special stuff and it's so nice to be here
- 1:24Speaker 2: with you guys talking about it. I mean, Darmann's Studios.
- 1:28Speaker 2: If you don't know, we make really special projects.
- 1:32Speaker 3: We're just telling stories right right, We are a real
- 1:35Speaker 3: thing on YouTube. If you don't know, just go to YouTube,
- 1:39Speaker 3: type in Darman and you will see a plethora of
- 1:42Speaker 3: some of the best videos, all kind of surrounding morals
- 1:46Speaker 3: and morality that you've ever seen in your life.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Yes, it's adults learning lessons. It's sort of these movies.
- 1:53Speaker 4: How you know that. There's that old tweet that says
- 1:56Speaker 4: a Lacroix tastes like if you whispered the flavor from
- 1:59Speaker 4: the other room while you were drinking a water. That's
- 2:02Speaker 4: sort of what Darman movies feel like.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and i'd say also, we talk about our YouTube channel,
- 2:08Speaker 1: but our main our main traffic is Facebook videos. So
- 2:12Speaker 1: if you're on we we are, I would say maybe
- 2:15Speaker 1: cable tv for Facebook? Right, Oh yeah, where I said
- 2:19Speaker 1: that once recently in a minute.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It was so genius. We all clapped, thank you so much,
- 2:22Speaker 3: so good.
- 2:23Speaker 5: We all until you hear this, the ending will shock you.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Well, it's just we're led by Darman. Dar himself. He's
- 2:29Speaker 2: such a hero, he's such an icon, he's such an entrepreneur.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It's it's been such a wonderful thing to be a
- 2:35Speaker 2: part of. I mean, as a writer's room, it's it's us,
- 2:38Speaker 2: our children.
- 2:39Speaker 4: And of course our grandparentsparents, our grandparents are heavily involved kids.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Everybody's a part of it.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So to get hired in a writer's room, they call
- 2:52Speaker 2: you not a writer, but they call you the forefront
- 2:55Speaker 2: of your legacy, and they have you. So we're not
- 2:58Speaker 2: necessarily writers, we're forefronts. And essentially you have to have
- 3:02Speaker 2: a grandparent and a child you can bring into the room.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yes, and they all have to have packets. Nobody's brought
- 3:08Speaker 4: in as an. I remember sitting my grandma down and going, okay,
- 3:13Speaker 4: we need five lessons that you'd want to teach, and
- 3:17Speaker 4: submitting those and she's like, I don't want to do.
- 3:19Speaker 4: What is this show?
- 3:21Speaker 1: I don't And what's so interesting though, is too like
- 3:23Speaker 1: our grandmothers and now my kids, they are submitting sketches
- 3:26Speaker 1: and things, and I go, no, a packet for Darmian
- 3:28Speaker 1: is just a list of proverbs.
- 3:30Speaker 5: You could do it on one page.
- 3:32Speaker 3: You don't put new age proverbs or just tell me.
- 3:35Speaker 1: The same proverb but in a different way. Right, Rich
- 3:39Speaker 1: and poor means so much different to gen Z.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yes, interesting, So we guess.
- 3:44Speaker 1: What's interesting about our room that I wonder about other
- 3:47Speaker 1: I know they have other writer's rooms on the show,
- 3:49Speaker 1: but we kind of just I would say reuse reduced
- 3:52Speaker 1: recycle a little bit.
- 3:54Speaker 3: But yeah, you know what it is for me, it's
- 3:55Speaker 3: that it's not necessarily our morals. Darman is so interested
- 4:01Speaker 3: in morals that almost don't make sense, questions that nobody's asking,
- 4:05Speaker 3: the questions that a seven year old would think is
- 4:07Speaker 3: important to ask. You know, It's so like the quick
- 4:11Speaker 3: same question of the New Age.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It basically says, like, what if this way that this
- 4:15Speaker 2: guy is acting, that no one's ever acted like acted
- 4:18Speaker 2: like this, it would be bad.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and to me that's the same as an SNL sketch.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But my whole thing about us and now it's but
- 4:27Speaker 2: you don't have to be funny all the time, guys,
- 4:30Speaker 2: stop being so funny, being so funny.
- 4:34Speaker 4: We don't need jokes to learn a lesson. And I
- 4:37Speaker 4: keep watching SNL going what's the lesson of this?
- 4:40Speaker 5: I always moral questions when Domingo goes home.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Here's Domingo good or bad? They refuse to take us stance.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Domingo ever been tired?
- 4:51Speaker 6: And what if somebody was only dating to be downer
- 4:54Speaker 6: for her money?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yes, I think we had to talk about the fact
- 4:59Speaker 1: that the target lady works for capitalism. Yes, oh yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 1: is there someone yelling at her?
- 5:07Speaker 3: And what if target lady was being made fun of
- 5:09Speaker 3: at Target and bullied, if she was bullied, and if
- 5:14Speaker 3: target lady went to Target and got bullied at Walmart?
- 5:17Speaker 5: And you could say the same thing about normal media.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I thought the same when I watched The White Lotus.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Happens when this hotel goes under exactly and.
- 5:27Speaker 4: So much subtext, which I hate. I hate that we
- 5:32Speaker 4: have a.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Big in our writer's room, no subtext context.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Wait, guys, guys, guys, we're doing that thing that Darwin
- 5:42Speaker 2: asked us to do, which is don't talk about ourselves
- 5:45Speaker 2: or identities or or have any ownership over our personalities.
- 5:49Speaker 6: We're not there right now. We should talk about ourselves.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Introducers, introduce ourselves, and then say what archetype we would
- 5:56Speaker 4: be in a lesson.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Or yeah or yeah I love that or or or whatever,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and what lesson you identify with?
- 6:04Speaker 4: Yes, yes, okay, Well I'm Crystal Irba and I I'm
- 6:21Speaker 4: Crystal Irba, and I am I would say I am
- 6:27Speaker 4: a uh a hard working student who found a wallet
- 6:36Speaker 4: in her classroom. They didn't belong to her, and she
- 6:40Speaker 4: returned it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I so agree that you, Crystal, Miss Crystal, Miss Crystal,
- 6:46Speaker 1: you are so helpful and you are so wise, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: you are so brave. Miss Crystal. Thank you, thank you,
- 6:54Speaker 1: thank you.
- 6:55Speaker 4: This is really nice.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Thank you Christal. Hi everyone, my name is Darby Fartan.
- 7:04Speaker 7: And I guess I would uh probably relate to mom
- 7:12Speaker 7: takes in a homeless child and gives her a makeover. Yes,
- 7:18Speaker 7: I see it, Yeah, because my kids.
- 7:22Speaker 3: You have a child too.
- 7:23Speaker 6: And I do have a child in the Yeah, yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 6: you have a child.
- 7:27Speaker 2: My mom takes in homeless child, gives them makeover. Other
- 7:30Speaker 2: child is jealous, tries to make them dirty before putting
- 7:34Speaker 2: the background on the street. And I know that that's
- 7:43Speaker 2: a video we've probably made.
- 7:45Speaker 6: I'm such a kid mom.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I'm such a such a kid I'm using the ginger
- 7:50Speaker 2: neutral term now for my kids.
- 7:52Speaker 6: I'm a kid mom. They said, I don't like saying.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Boy mom, grandmom.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Okay, you're a kid mom.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Don't get started again.
- 8:02Speaker 6: My kids like my kids want to use pronouns, and
- 8:06Speaker 6: they're using them. I'm a kid mom. I love them,
- 8:12Speaker 6: I love them.
- 8:13Speaker 2: It's hard for me to learn this, I'm going to
- 8:17Speaker 2: I like to screw up a lot and then say
- 8:19Speaker 2: I'm learning, but never change.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I can't wait until Darman discovers the concept of gender neutrality,
- 8:29Speaker 4: because it's going to.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Be because the years behind the ending will shock them.
- 8:35Speaker 6: It is going to be so much fun.
- 8:37Speaker 3: It's going to be so much fun and so much work.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Well, we have all those well I pitched a bunch
- 8:42Speaker 2: of them and he said, those are great.
- 8:44Speaker 6: I'm not ready lock them in the crate.
- 8:47Speaker 3: He said, what is that? I've never heard of that before.
- 8:50Speaker 6: I said, we don't have time for that. So it's nice.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Though it's fun.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We're still doing like girl loses a lot of weight,
- 8:57Speaker 1: gets treated differently, right, we're not ready for Ja gets.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Plastic surgery and everybody looks at it just starting plastic surgery.
- 9:03Speaker 4: We're just I'm so excited to open that can of worm.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I am so stark and I just saw I think
- 9:10Speaker 2: this is on the docu for twenty twenty eight, we're
- 9:12Speaker 2: going to introduce one video about masks.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Can't wait. Oh my gosh, is it? I think I
- 9:19Speaker 4: saw a sneak peak of this coughing woman doesn't wear masks?
- 9:24Speaker 4: Gets what's coming to her.
- 9:26Speaker 3: It's the most ominous video darm Is ever TITLEDO Gets
- 9:33Speaker 3: What's coming? What's coming sounds.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Dark because ominous woman is a character. I feel like
- 9:37Speaker 1: we've been trying to crack for a bit and we
- 9:40Speaker 1: found her story right because we've been like ominous Woman
- 9:44Speaker 1: like is like, well.
- 9:45Speaker 3: That's the idea is I've tried to pitch ominous woman
- 9:48Speaker 3: as a title seven thousand times. What is this? What
- 9:53Speaker 3: is an ominous wolf?
- 9:54Speaker 2: And then, of course the way it goes, it turns
- 9:56Speaker 2: out that YouTube suggests that our audience is highly likely
- 9:59Speaker 2: to click on an ominous woman video.
- 10:01Speaker 6: So now he's interesting, Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Of course, and he goes, why just call an ominous
- 10:05Speaker 1: woman what she is? A Karen? And we go no
- 10:07Speaker 1: more tired and less less loud at the front, Yu
- 10:13Speaker 1: at the front, at the front.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Hair more unclear intentions.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Speaking of unclear intentions, Hi, I'm brace face Natalie. I
- 10:26Speaker 1: have been a member of the Dharman Studios since I
- 10:30Speaker 1: was seventeen.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Bear, don't poke it?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Going what?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Nothing? I just what?
- 10:37Speaker 6: Don't poke it?
- 10:38Speaker 3: I think sometimes you mean need you say your last
- 10:42Speaker 3: name first?
- 10:43Speaker 6: Don't poke the bear?
- 10:44Speaker 1: The bear you're poking And I wouldn't poke it.
- 10:50Speaker 4: No, don't don't poke it.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Brais face Natalie is the order of my name. I
- 10:56Speaker 1: wouldn't poke the bear because the end will shock you.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I will shock you, the ending, shocking.
- 11:10Speaker 3: The ending brace face, you've really locked ace will shock you. Well,
- 11:17Speaker 3: it's my signature.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I said it once. We did it for a couple
- 11:19Speaker 1: of videos back in twenty thirteen. We stopped, and I
- 11:22Speaker 1: still want to go back, or the beginning. Wait till
- 11:26Speaker 1: you see the end of this is one of my
- 11:28Speaker 1: favorite things because we used to put that was when
- 11:30Speaker 1: the YouTube algorithm liked longer titles. Anyway, I'm braceface. I
- 11:34Speaker 1: have been have been working in online bullying and cyber bullying,
- 11:39Speaker 1: the separate things for a long time now.
- 11:42Speaker 6: The one you were preventing, one you were doing.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Thank you for cleaning that.
- 11:51Speaker 1: So I have just been so passionate about both sides
- 11:53Speaker 1: of cyber bullying, right and so I have so much
- 12:01Speaker 1: I want to say. And I've just been one of
- 12:04Speaker 1: our writers here for a really long time. I interned
- 12:06Speaker 1: at the studio. I will never forget. I met Darr
- 12:10Speaker 1: at a a YouTube creator's event, and he asked me
- 12:14Speaker 1: for more chicken fingers please, and I said, I'm not
- 12:17Speaker 1: in the catering staff, and he said, but what are
- 12:19Speaker 1: those braces?
- 12:21Speaker 3: So that's really the story waits morality.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And then that week I didn't even know this because
- 12:26Speaker 2: I was already working with darr And, and that week
- 12:29Speaker 2: we produced a full video that was a woman with
- 12:34Speaker 2: braces gets confused for weight staff.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yep, so the two things I did.
- 12:39Speaker 3: One of our most successful videos at the time.
- 12:42Speaker 5: It gets confused for weight because she has brace.
- 12:45Speaker 3: That's the beautifulful thing about dhar Man. He's such a
- 12:48Speaker 3: genius Because some of these titles, I'm like, how is
- 12:51Speaker 3: this going to work? Who's going to click on this?
- 12:53Speaker 3: Why would anybody click on this?
- 12:54Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 12:54Speaker 3: And then it gets two hundred million views the next
- 12:57Speaker 3: day and you go, gosh, you are tapped into something
- 13:00Speaker 3: I can't understand.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Well, i'll tell you also, I'll say what he's also
- 13:03Speaker 1: tapped in on is putting ourselves on the Facebook feed
- 13:08Speaker 1: exactly where you would stop to check something or go
- 13:11Speaker 1: get your food, or like you're scrolling right, you're you're
- 13:14Speaker 1: your uncle and you're scrolling right and you take one
- 13:16Speaker 1: second to talk to your wife. Where you landed is
- 13:19Speaker 1: always where a Darman video begins.
- 13:21Speaker 4: He's a master of awareness, right, sort of room of
- 13:25Speaker 4: requirement rules. Yea Darman will always fill the gap and
- 13:29Speaker 4: the void of whenever you need it most. And I'm
- 13:32Speaker 4: trying to find people so that they can find the
- 13:34Speaker 4: lesson they need.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Exactly, and that lesson will turn over into another lesson,
- 13:38Speaker 1: like if you left and something is about like a
- 13:41Speaker 1: woman being poor, suddenly it'll be that woman with braces, right,
- 13:45Speaker 1: And that's just the turnover we got. Yes, yes, speaking
- 13:49Speaker 1: of turnover.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Oh stop, thank you your favorite dessert. I can't stop
- 13:55Speaker 3: talking about apple turnover.
- 13:58Speaker 4: I love it outside down you're a silly little mini
- 14:06Speaker 4: fridge full of apple turnovers in the office fridge.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I can't I love it so much.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Time you said take that hot pocket and put it
- 14:13Speaker 1: around around.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It's you always know where you are because there's a
- 14:17Speaker 2: little a trail of flaky pastry crumbs everywhere.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And the liquid from a pie turnover are not easy
- 14:26Speaker 3: to keep on a plate. Tell you that you.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Know you're always handseling greteling your way around the office.
- 14:32Speaker 3: So why do we need and the.
- 14:35Speaker 6: Top a bottle? It's crazy.
- 14:36Speaker 1: There'sously no crafty at Darman that you bring in these
- 14:40Speaker 1: little turnovers.
- 14:42Speaker 4: There shouldn't be. By the way, there shouldn't be. I'm
- 14:44Speaker 4: so excited for our video. Greedy actor demands craft service food. Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 4: gets what's coming to us?
- 14:52Speaker 3: Absolutely, we are really leading it to the gets what's
- 14:54Speaker 3: coming to him?
- 14:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I will say.
- 14:56Speaker 2: The biggest insult at Darman Studios is U you gave
- 15:00Speaker 2: me an idea?
- 15:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah. That
- 15:09Speaker 4: actor is going to look a lot like you.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I remember one of our actors threw a bag of
- 15:13Speaker 1: fritos at me and I went, you gave me a
- 15:15Speaker 1: ninety Oh jeez.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, well he wasn't even supposed to have those FreeDOS.
- 15:19Speaker 2: He probably stole those, he.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Stolen why sorry.
- 15:25Speaker 6: Oh maybe he was homeless.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Hopeless actors steals onion rings. Gets what's coming to it?
- 15:35Speaker 6: We had to stop.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Doing stop using the word hopeless too. But we use
- 15:42Speaker 3: the word yeah, we do.
- 15:44Speaker 1: And here's the thing. We try the house. It doesn't
- 15:46Speaker 1: get clicked.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Unfortunately, our audience does not click on the house.
- 15:51Speaker 3: That's on you, that's on you, that's on you anyway.
- 15:55Speaker 3: My name is Meal Sophia. I am one of the writers.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I've been a writer for a little bit and I also,
- 16:04Speaker 3: you do see me in some of the videos, and
- 16:09Speaker 3: I say, hyphan nitty Darmon doesn't pay me to act.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I get paid for the writing I do. We each
- 16:14Speaker 3: get paid about fifteen dollars an hour for writing. And
- 16:17Speaker 3: it's so good, it's so fantastic.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Scro gets chosen. You get five dollars.
- 16:20Speaker 4: You get five dollars and spend five dollars wherever you want.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Is that the And that's the craziest because usually the
- 16:27Speaker 3: fifteen dollars he pays us, ten dollars of that needs
- 16:30Speaker 3: to be spent at Darman Studios to buy more Darmont products.
- 16:33Speaker 3: It's yes, It's kind of like how old mining towns
- 16:37Speaker 3: would set up for the miners. You would they would
- 16:38Speaker 3: own the grocery store and they would own everything. So
- 16:40Speaker 3: the miners would spend their mining bucks at.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Those and we're neglecting to mention the ten dollars of
- 16:45Speaker 4: Darbucks that we get to spend.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I love Darbucks. I'm saving up for a lollipop, five
- 16:50Speaker 3: hundred darbus for a lollipop.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I'm saving up for a digital camera thousand doarbucks.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I'm saving up to get my keys back.
- 16:58Speaker 6: I just got something with my bugs a flipcam.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Oh my god, how long did it take you to
- 17:05Speaker 4: cash it for a flipcam?
- 17:06Speaker 2: Well, let's just say I was saving when they were
- 17:10Speaker 2: in stock, when they were being manufactured.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Anyway, I think my morality lesson that is probably rich
- 17:19Speaker 3: banker needs to learn that the people that serve him
- 17:22Speaker 3: coffee are people too. That's like a big you know.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you are our resident Wall Street guys.
- 17:30Speaker 5: You are so good at writing like guys and ties.
- 17:32Speaker 3: They learn to need a guy in a tie who's rude.
- 17:36Speaker 3: You come to my stall? Oh yeah, you come to
- 17:39Speaker 3: my stall.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Can I say what I like about yours?
- 17:41Speaker 2: When I like about all dar Man videos is you
- 17:43Speaker 2: know the lesson right from the title. And these people
- 17:46Speaker 2: start acting so bad and so awful and they don't
- 17:49Speaker 2: change until the last thirty seconds.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Yeah right, they're so bad for so long.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Huh.
- 17:55Speaker 6: And I love your characters.
- 17:56Speaker 2: They just learned at the very end when you know
- 17:58Speaker 2: their girlfriend leaves them for the guy that actually cooks
- 18:01Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And that's my favorite. I was bawling my eyes out
- 18:06Speaker 3: through the entire process of reading that script.
- 18:08Speaker 6: You cannot pitch an idea without starting.
- 18:11Speaker 3: It's hard for me. Rich businessman's girlfriend leaves her him
- 18:15Speaker 3: for a cook.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I mean, what ego box?
- 18:22Speaker 4: My gosh, because those those rich businessmen you write, those
- 18:26Speaker 4: evil businessmen they keep they say things like, oh do
- 18:31Speaker 4: you know who I am? Or do you know how
- 18:34Speaker 4: much money I made last year?
- 18:36Speaker 3: I don't have time for this. I'm a rich business man.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I've got to get money, not wait for my coffee.
- 18:42Speaker 5: And the mad that his.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Girlfriend falls in love and chooses love, Hey, yeah, that's
- 18:49Speaker 1: amazing Rather than again for.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Me, it's like it actually gets me, is why do
- 18:57Speaker 3: we need to add a third dimension to a character?
- 19:00Speaker 3: Why can't they just be one dimensional?
- 19:01Speaker 1: I say that about bullies all the time.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 19:04Speaker 1: They could just be a bully.
- 19:05Speaker 3: It's two dimensions that most that's what we're looking at.
- 19:08Speaker 6: That's how I write kids too, That's how I see
- 19:09Speaker 6: my kids.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I mean, they're one thing screaming at me for being
- 19:12Speaker 2: wrong all the time.
- 19:14Speaker 6: So that's what I want to write them. I write
- 19:16Speaker 6: them as bad, I write them as awful. Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 4: And if there's a moral quandary, there is an answer
- 19:22Speaker 4: to it. Yeah, there is a yes or no answer.
- 19:25Speaker 4: I don't think I don't believe in multiple choice.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I don't believe in the gray.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Oh well, here's the thing. In real life I do.
- 19:32Speaker 5: I hate to break it to you.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Do you do you?
- 19:34Speaker 5: But for content I don't believe.
- 19:36Speaker 3: So really, well, what's the name one situation where gray exists?
- 19:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:42Speaker 3: In real life, I can't think of one.
- 19:44Speaker 6: Yeah, everything's pretty cut and dry for me in my life.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Yes, my husband is nice, my daughter is mean, my
- 19:50Speaker 4: teacher is nice, my maleman is mean.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Well, don't you think sometimes your daughter sometimes has like
- 19:55Speaker 1: a moment of gratitude and then she becomes nice.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, the ending of the video, No, I'm in my daughter. Yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 3: in the in real life, my daughter is nice to me.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And I go, that's such a good ending of this video.
- 20:08Speaker 3: We're going to start the new video where nice starter
- 20:10Speaker 3: becomes me.
- 20:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Well, you send out that, you send out, you're doing
- 20:14Speaker 2: that substack every day is a video.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Right, yeah, every day is a video. And it's god,
- 20:19Speaker 3: I cannot figure out the formatting of substack. I write
- 20:24Speaker 3: and I send it and so many returns and weird symbols.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So every day is a video. Okay, Oh, but it's
- 20:30Speaker 2: an article. Okay, See that's what I mean.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It's a video or an article that's great to me.
- 20:35Speaker 1: And maybe I'm just young.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess you started what You've been here the longest,
- 20:41Speaker 3: but you are the youngest.
- 20:42Speaker 6: I mean your generation is nothing but gray. Right, everything
- 20:45Speaker 6: is gray for you?
- 20:46Speaker 3: Oh confusing?
- 20:49Speaker 1: But isn't that where it begins?
- 20:52Speaker 3: What the fuck are you trying to do here?
- 20:54Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 20:55Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 20:56Speaker 5: Can we have a second? What are you talking about?
- 20:58Speaker 4: I'm just unclear about your motivation because we came here
- 21:02Speaker 4: to prove that good is good and.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Bad is bad. Oh on, they're not They're gonna.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Cut this out right, I'm sorry, old stop just give.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Me a second.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Guys, are you trying to go undercover to teach us
- 21:12Speaker 6: a lesson?
- 21:13Speaker 1: No, you're I don't know.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Let's get back to talking about my favorite things about Darman.
- 21:23Speaker 3: And you can stop cutting this out now.
- 21:25Speaker 4: You can stop cutting this out now?
- 21:28Speaker 1: Should we?
- 21:28Speaker 4: Should we? Or maybe you know? What we like to
- 21:31Speaker 4: do when we warm up our rooms is just get
- 21:34Speaker 4: a bunch of titles. Let can we just get a
- 21:37Speaker 4: bunch of titles going and then see if any and
- 21:40Speaker 4: see if we what what? Because Darman is we have
- 21:45Speaker 4: to think of about five thousand per day. Yeah, and
- 21:47Speaker 4: then it's the top ten get made tomorrow.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Here we go, let's do it.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Okay, I'm going to think of, uh how we kind
- 21:55Speaker 3: of mad libs it sometimes?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Yes, put them together.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Mean dog, mean dog.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Gets a swarm because he's being bullied.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Oh yes, yes.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Okay, okay, Ballerina.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Ballerina breaks her foot and has to get into shot put.
- 22:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and then we think we would click on that,
- 22:16Speaker 4: but there is someone, there's two hundred million someone.
- 22:21Speaker 6: Well at kids put also very hard on.
- 22:26Speaker 3: She has to learn learn okay?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Uh?
- 22:30Speaker 4: Evil evil evil baby boy?
- 22:36Speaker 2: Oh, evil baby boy gets babysitter from hell. They're both evil, they're.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Both even, they're both that's a rare thing in a
- 22:45Speaker 4: dar Man video to evil people.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Oh but I love those those do well because we
- 22:50Speaker 1: put all these red lights on it. Evil people.
- 22:53Speaker 4: It's like, this is what you don't want to be?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Or what about what about really nice handyman helps out
- 23:01Speaker 1: a nune.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Really nice handyman helps out Anne. They both realize God
- 23:06Speaker 3: is there.
- 23:07Speaker 6: Oh yes, I think.
- 23:12Speaker 3: It's gonna be a waiter.
- 23:15Speaker 6: To try it's nice.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Okay, what about this? Because we I know, we love
- 23:18Speaker 3: choosing jobs that exist. Kind of bathroom attendant oh.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Bathroom attendant gets ignored until nice teacher finally says thank you.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Nice teacher, Nice teacher, Nice teacher.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Nice teacher is a real gusher, nice.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Pops a nice teacher is clean. It's almost says like
- 23:40Speaker 3: bad lawyer.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I'm trying to do with ominous woman
- 23:45Speaker 1: and we can't.
- 23:46Speaker 4: We can't because she's well, because honestly, she's a little
- 23:49Speaker 4: hypnotizing to be liadows.
- 23:52Speaker 1: It's almost like a loud dancer.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Loud dancer, loud too loud demand and solo.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Dancer is the waitress at a restaurant that dad shouldn't
- 24:06Speaker 1: be at.
- 24:08Speaker 3: What could that mean? Oh?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Here strict parents and relaxed parents, Swiss kids at a
- 24:17Speaker 2: water park accidentals okay, kind of.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Just we're sort of inventing wife swap too.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yes, yes, because what are those things have in common?
- 24:33Speaker 1: A less and unless we also.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Something I love that we do is take movies that
- 24:39Speaker 4: already exist and boil them down to their keyword.
- 24:44Speaker 6: I love that.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I mean we did that with the blind Side, right,
- 24:47Speaker 1: we did A woman grabs woman grabs football.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Player, that guy clicks for a different reasons.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Dead man pretends to be alive for one final party weekend.
- 24:59Speaker 6: We can have burn.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yes, yes, woman forgets everything every morning. Fifty first stage.
- 25:07Speaker 4: We did Princess falls in Love with Ogre for his
- 25:11Speaker 4: true self.
- 25:13Speaker 1: That YouTube hated the word ogren ugly green Confused.
- 25:21Speaker 4: They kept going, what's ogre? What's ogre? What's only green?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Men?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Got it?
- 25:25Speaker 6: Got it?
- 25:28Speaker 1: What about Forrest Gump? Boy who sometimes makes other people uncomfortable?
- 25:33Speaker 3: Runs really fact yea like the.
- 25:36Speaker 6: Describe people of development of the boy who makes other
- 25:40Speaker 6: people uncomfortable.
- 25:45Speaker 1: We don't have talking about Lieutenant Dan what what?
- 25:53Speaker 3: There's so many issues? Man, No way you were guys, don't.
- 25:59Speaker 6: The way?
- 25:59Speaker 5: We give me a second, one second? Were you to
- 26:04Speaker 5: bully me?
- 26:05Speaker 4: Be?
- 26:05Speaker 3: No? No, no, going to poke the bear? We know
- 26:10Speaker 3: we're going to get the bear. We know we're going
- 26:12Speaker 3: to get because you.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Also want us to poke and and we don't.
- 26:16Speaker 5: We're going to cut all this out.
- 26:18Speaker 1: God forbid.
- 26:19Speaker 5: You learn a lesson to.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I don't I I learned my lesson of this very instance,
- 26:25Speaker 3: and one of my favorite Darman videos annoying frat guys
- 26:30Speaker 3: poke a bear after Ranger says not to. That was
- 26:34Speaker 3: one of our most vicious watching those frats.
- 26:36Speaker 6: We knew they were going to because they're annoying.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you knew it right from the beginning of
- 26:41Speaker 3: the video. And that's a beautiful thing about Darman videos.
- 26:43Speaker 3: You start right somehow in the middle, actually past the middle.
- 26:48Speaker 2: To start right in the middle, because as if you
- 26:51Speaker 2: don't know anything, which is what's nice about it.
- 26:54Speaker 4: That some clips of our favorite video.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yes clips, Okay.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Here's a clip from an ego. Uh, this is a
- 27:05Speaker 3: clip from Sad Scientists makes a love potion Things go
- 27:11Speaker 3: bad quickly.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Hey honey, Hey, honey, I'm just finishing up a big
- 27:19Speaker 2: day at the laboratory and I've just made.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Where were you. I've been waiting all day for you.
- 27:24Speaker 3: The fridge is fulled with groceries and nobody's here to
- 27:27Speaker 3: cook anything day.
- 27:28Speaker 6: Did you know that I had to work today? Work
- 27:30Speaker 6: is important to me.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Gosh, I'm so frustrated at you, Russell. If I could
- 27:35Speaker 3: get a divorce, I would, baby.
- 27:39Speaker 6: You know that I'm trying my hardest and I'm making
- 27:41Speaker 6: money for our life. I'm making money to work.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Just go back to work already. I'm sick of you.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Scene change. Well, this is the lab you sure you
- 27:51Speaker 4: want it all night long and for no one to
- 27:54Speaker 4: come in.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yes, thank you so much for making this deal. I
- 27:58Speaker 2: promise you to make a really good potion. Okay, all right.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Later, janitor enters, well what are you doing here? Oh?
- 28:09Speaker 6: Nothing, old janitor. I'm just making a potion.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Do you see?
- 28:12Speaker 2: My wife is in love with me like the way
- 28:14Speaker 2: she used to be, So it's time for me to
- 28:16Speaker 2: try to make a new potion and try to make
- 28:17Speaker 2: her in love with me.
- 28:19Speaker 3: I don't think that's how good love works. It sounds
- 28:23Speaker 3: like you need to talk to her. But what do
- 28:25Speaker 3: I know. I'm just the janitor.
- 28:28Speaker 6: He's right, what does he even know?
- 28:30Speaker 2: This plan's gonna work perfect for me, and I know
- 28:32Speaker 2: that I'm gonna be in love with my wife again
- 28:34Speaker 2: very soon.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Cut to the janitor dusting dust off of his old
- 28:38Speaker 4: diploma for science.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Hey is that yours?
- 28:45Speaker 3: What this this diploma from Harvard? Yah, saying I'm a scientist.
- 28:52Speaker 6: Yes, so you might know a thing or two.
- 29:00Speaker 8: Can I ask you a question. I'm trying to get
- 29:03Speaker 8: my wife to love me, so I'm trying to make
- 29:04Speaker 8: a potion.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I was wondering maybe that would help to make me
- 29:09Speaker 2: love for her, make her love me again, but.
- 29:12Speaker 3: You love me again?
- 29:20Speaker 6: Do you think that would work? Or do you think
- 29:21Speaker 6: I should try something to go?
- 29:24Speaker 3: I think I'm just the janitor now, but I wouldn't
- 29:31Speaker 3: do that if I were. You. Science wronged me, so
- 29:36Speaker 3: I gave it all up.
- 29:42Speaker 6: Yeah. So that's my favorite, and.
- 29:44Speaker 4: It goes on for about eighteen more minutes. And I love.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Something I love that we do in our videos is
- 29:49Speaker 4: repeat information.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You know you have to.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I mean a lot of our viewers are kids trying
- 29:57Speaker 3: to learn English. I'm positive sometimes those kids accidutely click forward.
- 30:01Speaker 6: Absolutely, it's very clear, and it's to be honest.
- 30:04Speaker 2: This is actually an incredible basic learning tool for English.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it's an amazing skill. It's an amazing tool.
- 30:10Speaker 3: That's why he's trying to start the main academy.
- 30:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 2: You know, one thing I was thinking about when I
- 30:17Speaker 2: was watching that a learning curve I had for me
- 30:19Speaker 2: because I was a writer on television shows and movies
- 30:23Speaker 2: and all that stuff.
- 30:24Speaker 6: Before I came to Jarman. Well, no, the learning curve.
- 30:27Speaker 2: You know, first of all, we write all of our
- 30:29Speaker 2: scripts in Google Google sheets, the Google sheets, the Excel,
- 30:34Speaker 2: the Google Excel.
- 30:36Speaker 1: But then we take off the grid.
- 30:38Speaker 6: Take off the grid.
- 30:38Speaker 3: You print it.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Without the grid, you write it in the grid, you
- 30:42Speaker 4: print it without the grid.
- 30:44Speaker 6: And then the other thing is and we.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Never allow ourselves to press the button that says wraps
- 30:48Speaker 4: so you could read all the text.
- 30:49Speaker 3: So it's all horizontal, and you know why, you know
- 30:52Speaker 3: why you have to sometimes line up the pages.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Which there isn't really something to do on your mouth.
- 30:58Speaker 2: You can't scroll side with you only scroll down.
- 31:00Speaker 6: It's tricky.
- 31:01Speaker 4: It's tricky, but that's how stories go.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You can't scroll sideways on a story.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Isn't that life?
- 31:06Speaker 1: It's the beginning, in the middle, in the end. We
- 31:08Speaker 1: can't go back.
- 31:09Speaker 2: No. The other thing that I love is you have
- 31:12Speaker 2: to write in after every line how many seconds you
- 31:16Speaker 2: want the actor to pause. Yes, that's really important for us,
- 31:20Speaker 2: So three seconds, five seconds, four second, Every pause means
- 31:23Speaker 2: something different. It's just so important because we don't want
- 31:28Speaker 2: anyone's audio mixing. We don't have the capabilities to parse
- 31:32Speaker 2: it out, don't.
- 31:33Speaker 4: There is one love mic that has passed back and forth.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yet and no one gets any coverage. Your coverage is
- 31:41Speaker 1: my coverage. They are both our coverage.
- 31:46Speaker 6: Your coverage is one.
- 31:50Speaker 1: One and your coverage is one, and you get lunch.
- 31:54Speaker 3: You only get a close up if you're making a
- 31:56Speaker 3: face like this.
- 32:01Speaker 6: Stop. There's a Patreon you need to get into. It's
- 32:04Speaker 6: the artist on, artists on artists and artist Patreon.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Drop whatever you're holding, run to your computer. The patreon
- 32:11Speaker 4: is full of bonus post show activities we've done. We've
- 32:15Speaker 4: done the Oscar draft where we pick our picks for
- 32:18Speaker 4: best picture and we go up against each other and
- 32:20Speaker 4: we fight like a war. So drop the thing in
- 32:23Speaker 4: your hands, Halt, do not proceed. Proceed immediately to your
- 32:27Speaker 4: laptop and sign up for the artists on, Artists on Artists,
- 32:31Speaker 4: patroon on Patreon on Patriot.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Speaking up, let's talk about the frown meter.
- 32:38Speaker 3: The frown meting.
- 32:40Speaker 1: You can you can put a if you want a
- 32:43Speaker 1: big frown or a mini frown for the actor, you
- 32:47Speaker 1: could put that in there. And I think that sometimes
- 32:48Speaker 1: our actors use that and really create magic.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Yes, well, this reminds me of one of my favorite videos,
- 32:56Speaker 2: Popular Girl Makeover goth.
- 33:03Speaker 6: All right, let's play a click.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Oh man, nobody understands me at this school. Hey, don't
- 33:09Speaker 4: shove a locker in my face.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Move sick girl, you look like a marker.
- 33:14Speaker 4: What I just like rock and roll music?
- 33:20Speaker 3: Hey, I actually watched that whole thing happen, and I
- 33:24Speaker 3: didn't think it was cool.
- 33:26Speaker 4: What are you.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Are you?
- 33:31Speaker 4: Do you mean to talk to me? Nobody's ever talked
- 33:35Speaker 4: to me at this school.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. I'm the most popular girl in the school.
- 33:40Speaker 3: And look these are my friends. Hey.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Back there, I said you look like a marker, and
- 33:47Speaker 1: I maybe shouldn't have said it.
- 33:51Speaker 6: Hey, we like to give makeover to friends. We like
- 33:54Speaker 6: to give make over to make them look good.
- 33:56Speaker 1: We make over at home, and I know I want
- 33:59Speaker 1: to come.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yeah, do you want to come? I promise no lockers
- 34:02Speaker 3: will be shoved in your face.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Do you have any dark black eyeliner or band t shirts?
- 34:10Speaker 1: Wait? Let me let me swipe your eye and take
- 34:16Speaker 1: off all that eyeliner.
- 34:17Speaker 5: Oh, look at her.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 34:21Speaker 4: I've never seen my eyes before. I always close them
- 34:26Speaker 4: because I'm shy. But I see now I could be
- 34:32Speaker 4: a normal girl. Should we go to the mall?
- 34:39Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, uh, yep, welcome to the store. We have
- 34:45Speaker 3: dark clothes over here, and lights and pink clothes over there.
- 34:49Speaker 4: I'll go to the dark clothes.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Well weoll wo whoa, whoa, not so fast, Busterinos.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Stop that Busterino right now.
- 34:58Speaker 3: We are actually going to try something a little little different.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I'm scared.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Hey, take this top. It's light clothed. You might like it.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Busterino and Busterino put that on, and I'm gonna also
- 35:09Speaker 1: take my thumb again and take off your purple lipstick.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Whoa, oh my god. Look guys, it's the hottest guy
- 35:17Speaker 3: at school. He plays basketball and football and his name
- 35:20Speaker 3: is Paul.
- 35:21Speaker 6: All right, Hi, Paul.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Huma hummana humm and a humm and a hummina? What
- 35:30Speaker 4: talk to him? He's too cool?
- 35:33Speaker 3: You can now you should go try here?
- 35:37Speaker 1: Who you look like? A fairy godmother?
- 35:42Speaker 6: Who is that?
- 35:47Speaker 4: I've seen you in class? Have you done the homework?
- 35:52Speaker 1: This couldn't be, Sierra, could it?
- 35:55Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 35:56Speaker 1: It is?
- 35:57Speaker 4: Look, I have tickets to my show. I play the
- 36:01Speaker 4: drums in a punk band for shy girls. Did do
- 36:07Speaker 4: you want to come?
- 36:09Speaker 1: But you're a fairy godmother?
- 36:11Speaker 3: Cut to the band practice. Wait a second, you got
- 36:14Speaker 3: Paul to come to our show, but he's not cool,
- 36:17Speaker 3: like like we do our own thing here and.
- 36:19Speaker 8: Sierra, where are your dark clothes? Where is your smoky eyeliner?
- 36:26Speaker 1: Wait?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Where are your drumsticks? How are you going to play
- 36:28Speaker 3: the drums without drumsticks.
- 36:30Speaker 4: I traded my drumsticks for a cell phone so I
- 36:33Speaker 4: could talk to my new friends. They're actually pretty cool
- 36:38Speaker 4: if you give them a chance.
- 36:39Speaker 3: It feels like you're changing. I don't know if I
- 36:43Speaker 3: like this.
- 36:43Speaker 4: What. No, you guys just don't understand me. I'm cool
- 36:48Speaker 4: now and you're jealous.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Okay, just remember when you leave us and your friends
- 36:53Speaker 2: start being mean to you, we were actually.
- 36:55Speaker 6: Nice to you.
- 36:56Speaker 4: I'm going to Miranda's pool party.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Hey, Busterino, get in the pool.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yeah, get in the pool. You'll have to be the
- 37:04Speaker 3: first one in.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Oh okay, hope, nothing weird happens to me in the pool.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Splash it was jello. Oh no, everyone's laughing at me.
- 37:16Speaker 3: We made her jump in jello.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Ha ha.
- 37:19Speaker 4: They're all filming it and putting it on social media
- 37:22Speaker 4: and it's going viral.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I made a viral video and it's titled we made
- 37:27Speaker 2: girl change entire personality than push her in Jello.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Look at this. It has fron hundred million views.
- 37:35Speaker 4: No, I need to go back to my real friends here.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Do you have any sharpies?
- 37:42Speaker 6: Sorry, we actually have a new Sierra. Her name is Ornelia.
- 37:47Speaker 4: You replace me. I was just that easy.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm on ilia and I play the bass.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Oh so we don't have a drummer, but we don't
- 37:57Speaker 3: need one because you hurt our feelings. You train you
- 38:02Speaker 3: change to become popular, and you left us in the dust,
- 38:06Speaker 3: and now we are hurt.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Maybe sometimes changing being popular isn't really the point.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Ziero went home. She was very sad about that day.
- 38:16Speaker 2: And she went home and she was sad. Shoot, she
- 38:19Speaker 2: really she shouldn't have changed for other people, and she
- 38:22Speaker 2: should have always been exactly who she.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Was all along.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Honey, I made cookies.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Mom, I can't eat them yet. I have a punk
- 38:31Speaker 4: band to go see. Run Run Run, Run Run Run.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Excuse me, security guard? Is it still time for the Poh?
- 38:39Speaker 7: Whoa?
- 38:40Speaker 4: Whoa?
- 38:40Speaker 3: You don't have a ticket?
- 38:43Speaker 4: What but I was in the band?
- 38:45Speaker 1: WHOA?
- 38:46Speaker 4: Long up to jail?
- 38:47Speaker 3: You go? Whoa?
- 38:49Speaker 6: Kiro was sent to jail for trying to steal a concert.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Wait, guard, Look, you're in jail. You we knew you
- 39:00Speaker 3: were trying to steal that concert.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Hell on the in for kid? Did you try to
- 39:05Speaker 1: steal something like a jacuzzi or a concert?
- 39:07Speaker 4: I'll tell you exactly why I'm here, because I tried
- 39:10Speaker 4: to change who I really am. And now I'm left
- 39:14Speaker 4: here and certainly no one will bail me out after
- 39:17Speaker 4: what I've done, even though I'm really sorry to my
- 39:21Speaker 4: real friends, so sorry, so sorry. Oh no, my voice memo,
- 39:26Speaker 4: it was recording the whole time.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Somebody's here to see you. They bailed you out. It's
- 39:32Speaker 3: these goths that say, you're in a band with them, Here.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Are your drumsticks, let's get out of here.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Thanks Ophelia. Thank god you told her that.
- 39:45Speaker 6: Oh so, that's one of my favorite videos.
- 39:47Speaker 3: That is video.
- 39:49Speaker 1: It's like watching the Titanic.
- 39:50Speaker 8: You know.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I love the use of voice of where we've never
- 39:53Speaker 3: done that before.
- 39:53Speaker 4: We do and that's what's so weird because we were okay,
- 40:00Speaker 4: I didn't know that. Sometimes Puck, so sometimes to speed
- 40:06Speaker 4: stuff along, we use voiceover for kind of no reason.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I love the idea that she was trying to steal
- 40:17Speaker 3: that concert.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It's nic Yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 2: And also, you know, just to answer a question I'm
- 40:21Speaker 2: sure you have, Darmann met with a an analyst who
- 40:26Speaker 2: assured us that Bustino was going to be the next
- 40:28Speaker 2: play and just really said, go on in on Bustno,
- 40:33Speaker 2: there's three months.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Because we are fifteen years behind. So in twenty ten,
- 40:38Speaker 4: someone heard someone say bustino on a podcast and they
- 40:42Speaker 4: were like, we.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Were positive it was gonna go.
- 40:45Speaker 2: We have an in house linguistics expert who is telling
- 40:49Speaker 2: us the type of language that will be used for
- 40:51Speaker 2: all time. Yes, and so we So that's why you know,
- 40:54Speaker 2: we never use proper nouns. We never talk about specific things.
- 40:58Speaker 2: We never talk about anything at all other than very
- 41:02Speaker 2: generic stuff. So that can always apply.
- 41:04Speaker 3: Because we're playing to a big international audience, Yes we are.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Lots of our views are coming from international places.
- 41:11Speaker 1: And I'd say, like, I feel like our numbers are
- 41:14Speaker 1: bigger than even Netflix. Like our reach, we go so far,
- 41:18Speaker 1: and I think we have to remember that in the
- 41:20Speaker 1: digital space we have so much power.
- 41:24Speaker 6: We do, and I think we use it for neutral.
- 41:28Speaker 4: I do think we use it for neutral.
- 41:30Speaker 3: As much as we discuss morality, we really do come
- 41:33Speaker 3: out neutral.
- 41:34Speaker 4: I do think we come out neutral for men. I'd
- 41:36Speaker 4: say neutral to bad for women.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Okay, but sit in it.
- 41:41Speaker 6: I mean, look, I'm a woman, but I but I.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Agree thoughn't it? Do you think for content creators make
- 41:51Speaker 1: stuff and they didn't actually really make anything?
- 41:55Speaker 3: What?
- 41:56Speaker 2: What what are you say?
- 42:00Speaker 1: I'm saying you're a lesson.
- 42:04Speaker 6: I don't think I'm a lesson.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I don't think any wish to learn anything from me,
- 42:09Speaker 2: certainly not my kids.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, sad mom thinks of her kids, I'm
- 42:20Speaker 3: living my life.
- 42:22Speaker 4: There's something here. Sad mom thinks. Sad ignore her until
- 42:27Speaker 4: they surprise her on Mother's Day.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Don't say my kids are gonna surprise me, because if
- 42:32Speaker 2: I if I think that they get my hopes up,
- 42:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ballistic.
- 42:35Speaker 1: If we don't, Sad mom gets your hopes up.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Sad mom gets hopes up betrayed by braddy kids once more.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Oh mom ends up in jail.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah behind the kid mom, you're the kid to jail.
- 42:52Speaker 6: No no, no, no, no, no no no, don't let
- 42:54Speaker 6: me go to jail.
- 42:55Speaker 1: What if?
- 42:55Speaker 6: What if I change my ways?
- 42:58Speaker 1: Can you? Can you just neutral today?
- 43:01Speaker 6: You feel it out? Is it in the titles?
- 43:03Speaker 3: Kid Mom doesn't let stranger change your tire?
- 43:07Speaker 6: Oh no, no, I do. Let's change your change my tire?
- 43:09Speaker 3: What does that do?
- 43:10Speaker 1: Kid Mom kicks a homeless man because he asks for change.
- 43:14Speaker 6: You know I don't kick a homeless man.
- 43:16Speaker 4: Mom speeds on the highway because she thinks she's better
- 43:19Speaker 4: than everyone there no.
- 43:21Speaker 6: No, that's not me. Please give me some better titles.
- 43:24Speaker 6: You're gonna ruin my life.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I'll give you a better title if you return the
- 43:30Speaker 4: cubicle you stole from me.
- 43:32Speaker 6: Oh, it's title extortion. We do this every fucking week.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I want the cubicle that's closest to the morality board,
- 43:42Speaker 4: so that I'm the first to pin the morality board
- 43:44Speaker 4: onto the board at the beginning of the day.
- 43:49Speaker 6: The word morality.
- 43:51Speaker 4: It's the best position to be in because the person
- 43:55Speaker 4: who pins the archetype under the moral stance at the
- 43:59Speaker 4: beginning of the day sets the tone for the day.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Dar walks by after coming out of his c suite
- 44:04Speaker 4: and goes evil nurse, good work. And you know that
- 44:10Speaker 4: you did that, and you stole that from me. So
- 44:13Speaker 4: you've been getting credit for all of our ideas.
- 44:16Speaker 1: A sad mom takes all the credit. No, that's not me.
- 44:20Speaker 3: That's not me.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I'll give it to you, but you have to give
- 44:23Speaker 2: me the parking spot that also lets you sneak into
- 44:25Speaker 2: the Burbank Airport.
- 44:31Speaker 4: I need that parking spot because I drive slow, because
- 44:36Speaker 4: I'm afraid of the road.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Because slow driver learns that roads need to go quickly.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 44:43Speaker 6: Slow driver parks under airplane.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Slow driver thinks schools should close.
- 44:49Speaker 4: No, no, I've already been bullied as a kid for
- 44:52Speaker 4: being a slow driver.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Slow driver hits turtle, and turtle hurts her again. The
- 45:02Speaker 2: slow driver, so slow turtle is jealous, jealous.
- 45:07Speaker 4: You wouldn't dare. You wouldn't dare.
- 45:13Speaker 3: We would. We would because, just like I said at
- 45:17Speaker 3: the beginning, I'm a rich, evil bastard.
- 45:22Speaker 1: And I would.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Because it's hard.
- 45:27Speaker 5: Just give me a second.
- 45:32Speaker 6: Oh oh, oh my god, she's asking us to poke.
- 45:35Speaker 4: Are you learning a lesson?
- 45:38Speaker 3: Ominous woman? I can't write anymore.
- 45:42Speaker 6: Honest woman wants.
- 45:43Speaker 3: To leave job.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Ominous woman received an offer from McKinsey Consulting and wants
- 45:51Speaker 4: to go take that instead.
- 45:57Speaker 5: You poked a bear.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I am the Monster of Envy and I'm leaving for
- 46:02Speaker 1: McKinzie Consulting.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Yeah, the Monster.
- 46:10Speaker 6: This is funny bit. She does Christmas parties.
- 46:13Speaker 3: The Monster.
- 46:21Speaker 4: I love our Christmas sin parties where we each come
- 46:24Speaker 4: as a sin.
- 46:28Speaker 3: One of your one of the first videos. We were
- 46:30Speaker 3: all talking like nasty mom, disgusting old man. You pitched
- 46:36Speaker 3: Monster of Envy and we went what is that? What
- 46:39Speaker 3: is Monster of enemy that he did this act that
- 46:41Speaker 3: we just thought that was so funny everybody on set.
- 46:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I got so scared about those titles. Guys,
- 46:51Speaker 2: you know how we get.
- 46:51Speaker 3: It's all right, guys, it's all fine.
- 46:54Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I've been ruining the rhythm of this whole thing.
- 46:57Speaker 3: You have you have not no remember always says there's
- 47:02Speaker 3: no rhythm.
- 47:03Speaker 4: There is no rhythm. There's no rhythm.
- 47:07Speaker 3: There's no rhythm.
- 47:08Speaker 4: The script is flowing. You take that ship to free form.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely, he says.
- 47:13Speaker 2: He says, make like your aunt during uptown funk at
- 47:15Speaker 2: a wedding and.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Way doubt.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Or state who you are.
- 47:23Speaker 1: If it was a temp if there was a tempo,
- 47:25Speaker 1: it would be a song. And it's not a song,
- 47:27Speaker 1: it's a skit.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Really quick, before we wrap up, just talk about the
- 47:31Speaker 3: writing process of the script. Actually, because we did see
- 47:34Speaker 3: some great some great scenes and that is all from
- 47:39Speaker 3: our writer's room. We have a very strict policy. No delete, no.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Delete, no delete.
- 47:46Speaker 3: All forced removed, and we cannot delete anything.
- 47:50Speaker 4: You cannot remove.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Yeah, we are we are viewer only, but we also
- 47:54Speaker 2: have the access to add.
- 47:56Speaker 6: We just don't have the access to edit. If you
- 47:58Speaker 6: were an ad on'm Google bocked.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Urban controls the Google Home, the Google drive that we
- 48:03Speaker 3: all work off of, and he does not give us
- 48:07Speaker 3: edit access.
- 48:08Speaker 1: And they kind of almost see it in the golf
- 48:10Speaker 1: Girl video. The choices we make and we want to
- 48:14Speaker 1: go back, but we just go.
- 48:15Speaker 3: We we have to, We have to, we have to.
- 48:17Speaker 3: The progressive player was supposed to be such a huge
- 48:21Speaker 3: that script just dropped him.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Well, we've also gained a rare Sometimes there are sub
- 48:28Speaker 4: lessons in within the should we call them movies within
- 48:36Speaker 4: our movies, our stories, right.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Stories, stories, movies stories, movie content, move tent.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Mood tent, moo Dang, mood tagsh mood Dang.
- 48:53Speaker 4: I can't wait for fifteen years from now when we
- 48:54Speaker 4: could do a mood Dang video. Crazy key Zookeeper doesn't.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Respect mood Oh, we're gonna use Moodang by their name,
- 49:05Speaker 3: Angry Angry Zoo keeper.
- 49:07Speaker 1: He should be behind boss.
- 49:10Speaker 4: Yes, he should go to jail for what he thinks.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Self conscious mood Dang has to perform a talent show.
- 49:20Speaker 1: And their bullies a pigeon.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Mood Dang is too poor to afford ticket to homecoming dance.
- 49:27Speaker 4: But nice Zookeeper steps in because he's a secret millionaire.
- 49:32Speaker 6: What's crazy.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I'm just realizing if all of these were cartoons and
- 49:36Speaker 2: just played by animals, no one would have a problem.
- 49:41Speaker 4: That's where we messed up. It's that they should be people.
- 49:46Speaker 4: I remember, you know, the early days, the early days,
- 49:49Speaker 4: because I come from the world of employee training videos
- 49:55Speaker 4: sort of if your boss touched you, what would you do?
- 50:01Speaker 3: We go too big, too.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Big, big, because is the boss mean or is he touchy?
- 50:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 50:09Speaker 2: And the girl he's he's touching is she a popular girls?
- 50:17Speaker 4: Is he bad because he's rich or is he nice
- 50:20Speaker 4: because he's poor?
- 50:22Speaker 3: You wear pink or does she wear black?
- 50:24Speaker 1: Yes? Yes?
- 50:25Speaker 4: And so there were just too many questions with it.
- 50:28Speaker 4: But we were looking at the story outlines we had
- 50:31Speaker 4: and we were like, there was a crucial moment where
- 50:33Speaker 4: we were like, are we going to give these two
- 50:35Speaker 4: dogs to act out or are we going to give
- 50:38Speaker 4: these two people and eventually dogs.
- 50:41Speaker 3: It didn't work, It didn't.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I think sometimes it also might be influenced by when
- 50:46Speaker 1: we have writers black we put Jimmy neutron on him?
- 50:48Speaker 3: We can't, we do we put Jimmy neutron on Well?
- 50:52Speaker 2: That's was one of our kids suggestions, and the grandparents
- 50:54Speaker 2: seemed to love it too.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Right, it worked. My parents didn't understand what Jimmy neutron is.
- 50:59Speaker 3: We put it on. Their grandparents were dialed in immediately.
- 51:05Speaker 6: And Danny, they call him Danny Zuko.
- 51:08Speaker 1: My grandma called him Danny, and you work with my grandma,
- 51:10Speaker 1: so come on.
- 51:12Speaker 2: No, it's my grandma too. Yeah, this is the funniest thing.
- 51:16Speaker 2: My grandma calls Jimmy newstron Danny.
- 51:23Speaker 3: So happened. We started cracking.
- 51:27Speaker 6: I got it was hilarious?
- 51:29Speaker 4: Is hi larous?
- 51:31Speaker 3: My god? So that guy is just a little sneak
- 51:35Speaker 3: into how we write.
- 51:36Speaker 4: That's a little a little peak behind the curtain. But yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 4: I would say that there are there are several buckets
- 51:43Speaker 4: that our videos fall into. I think wealth, wealth as
- 51:48Speaker 4: morality is why beauty.
- 51:51Speaker 3: We can whether it's on or off off, like treatment, treatment,
- 51:57Speaker 3: treatment treated, Yes, yes, seeing people in a certain light
- 52:03Speaker 3: and then realizing they're not that in a different light.
- 52:06Speaker 6: Between parents and children, we do talk about.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yes, people going viral and what it means.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Yes, does it change you? How does it change you?
- 52:17Speaker 4: To what end? And what does that mean for their family? Yes,
- 52:22Speaker 4: that's the writing checklist. We watch when before we fill
- 52:26Speaker 4: out the spreadsheets?
- 52:27Speaker 6: What else about our writers?
- 52:28Speaker 2: Zoom it's fully remote. You can come in if you want,
- 52:33Speaker 2: and we all want to.
- 52:34Speaker 4: We all to. Sometimes my grandma gets on the zoom
- 52:39Speaker 4: and she loves it. She calls it Danny's.
- 52:46Speaker 6: The zoom Zoom Danny.
- 52:48Speaker 4: She goes, I'm gonna hop on the Danny's Show and
- 52:52Speaker 4: FaceTime in she knows the word for FaceTime. My Grandma's funny.
- 52:57Speaker 3: We're getting brained. Were just so dar brain where English
- 53:03Speaker 3: just doesn't seem to work in my brain any though.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Words don't really make it.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Say, guys, it's me Dar Dark Dark. It's time to
- 53:12Speaker 1: go back to work.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Oh okay, Dark, we haven't wens have our lunch. But
- 53:18Speaker 3: that's okay. We could just go back.
- 53:19Speaker 4: You'll just think of a bunch of ideas.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Yeah, what's on your mind today? What's a jumping out
- 53:24Speaker 3: at the YouTube's.
- 53:26Speaker 1: The word riz will be popular in five years?
- 53:30Speaker 4: Oh, we gotta get to work.
- 53:31Speaker 3: We gotta okay, riz riz anything with riz.
- 53:34Speaker 4: My school jock with riz gets turned down for prom
- 53:38Speaker 4: gets angry.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Oh no, what's he gonna do? I'm interested.
- 53:45Speaker 4: You can't answer that question to the fullest extent.
- 53:49Speaker 6: Mom has RIZ, confuses Dad that wow.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Mom sneaks into high school again to prove that she
- 53:58Speaker 3: still has RIZ to her annoying daughter, ungrateful, little fucking daughter.
- 54:06Speaker 6: I like it.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Two cops sent undercover to relearn how to have RIZ
- 54:13Speaker 4: so that they can do a drug bust of teens,
- 54:16Speaker 4: but they don't understand them.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Riz gamer brings mathematician from school into play games.
- 54:23Speaker 3: They play games, high score students, teach teacher how to
- 54:30Speaker 3: have RIZ.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Secret. Princess goes to school, but nobody knows.
- 54:36Speaker 6: Poor kid with RIZ, Rich kid without Riz.
- 54:40Speaker 3: Okay, okay.
- 54:42Speaker 1: This homeless man had a bag of RIZ. He gave
- 54:48Speaker 1: it to the prime minister.
- 54:50Speaker 4: Homeless man receives secret one hundred dollars. Bill tells no
- 54:55Speaker 4: one helps less fortunate poor child.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Else sells his cow for a bag of RIZ.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Lost and found kid.
- 55:08Speaker 7: Lost.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Gold digging wife learns that husband doesn't have any money,
- 55:23Speaker 4: flies off the handle.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Rich dad finds poor dad in sewer, gives him makeover.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Sewer kid learns to be an adult.
