- 0:07Now broadcasting from the Next Gen. conservative studio in
- 0:11sunny South Florida, bringing you the latest in politics,
- 0:15current events and pop culture. This is the Whitfield Report
- 0:20with Sam Whitfield. Well, we've got a full house
- 0:32tonight, folks, for the final show of 2023, Welcome to the
- 0:38Whitfield Report. That's right.
- 0:40There's gonna be no shows after this.
- 0:42And we don't just mean the Whitfield report.
- 0:44Anything going on after tonight you're you are hereby directed
- 0:50to ignore because this is the last show of the year.
- 0:55Yeah, that, that's right. It may, It may and ironically be
- 1:00the last show of the year. Because like, people tend to
- 1:03tend to just like phone it in. You know, like.
- 1:08Clip show. Yeah.
- 1:11Most. I'm going to react to the best
- 1:13clips of the year. Or it it's just here it here's
- 1:19one question I do have Max that I'm curious about when people do
- 1:25let's plays like you know live is that and they just play games
- 1:34with like a a camera on them is that really a show or I mean I.
- 1:42Think let's Play is its own genre.
- 1:43I I usually say a stream. I know TikTok people, they call
- 1:49it alive and I want to like, rip my own hair out every time I
- 1:53hear that. Well, I mean, I I want.
- 1:56To hear a live, see live is not a noun.
- 2:01So yeah, it's a stream, and we did it first.
- 2:05And as a guy that got in the ground floor of streaming, I was
- 2:09streaming on like Shout Cast in the early 2000s.
- 2:12I'm pretty sure we get to name this shit that we fucking
- 2:15developed and it's not alive. Hey guys I just got here like is
- 2:21your live on Sam. Yeah, our.
- 2:23Live is on. Oh, good, good.
- 2:26Yeah. So tonight joining us, we have a
- 2:32very special guest who I don't want to really.
- 2:36Hey, let's not build Shmuley up too much.
- 2:38He's here all the time. Well, Shmuley is a, you know, a
- 2:42very close friend. But just to give you some hints,
- 2:46this is a good guy who I've known since he's basically my
- 2:51child and best friend. Some of you will know who this
- 2:57is if you guys have watched the show before.
- 3:01Is it? Gimli from.
- 3:02Lord of the Rings. No but my but no.
- 3:07But I I appreciate that reference so so anyway.
- 3:14We'll so close. He was supposed to join us, but
- 3:17he he was supposed to join us at the top of the show.
- 3:20But he just texted me like 5 minutes ago saying he's going to
- 3:23need 25 minutes. Typical.
- 3:26He works for Congress, so he runs.
- 3:30On the poop break has to be a little extended.
- 3:33I got you. I mean, even though he's been
- 3:37off with family for, you know, Christmas vacation or whatever,
- 3:41but. I mean, you need the poop break
- 3:44even more than. That is actually true.
- 3:48It is true between the food and just the people you know, a few
- 3:53minutes alone. Yeah, well, and when you.
- 3:58Care, ladies and gentlemen. And when you grow up, and when
- 4:01you grow up in an Irish shot, you know, when you grow up in a
- 4:05family full of Irish, as my as my friend did, you can probably
- 4:10relate to my friend better than I can.
- 4:13And lots of. Potatoes means lots of poop.
- 4:19Well, yeah. And then you know what's what's
- 4:22face. With you, I got to let the
- 4:23audience in on. The secret here is like, I'm
- 4:26going to, I'm going the lowest route possible just to get the
- 4:29reaction out of my wife. So, poop jokes it is.
- 4:38I I wish. I wish we I.
- 4:41Wish nothing but highbrow comedy here on the Whitfield Report, as
- 4:44always. I I wish that like we had a
- 4:47camera for like all of the no, it's even better because I can,
- 4:51I can. Even without a camera, I can see
- 4:54the eye rolls coming there. Was eye rolls just before you
- 4:58said that for sure? Yeah.
- 5:00Yeah. And.
- 5:01Now there's the full face palm because she heard that.
- 5:06So yeah, it's fun. It keeps me entertained.
- 5:11Having a live audience is very reactive and also the jokes that
- 5:15bomb with my live audience. I know we're gonna go over with
- 5:18the on live audience or what is it?
- 5:22How would it take? What would the Tik tokers say
- 5:24their audience is for the their live, the live or aloud?
- 5:30Or. On live on their live yeah the
- 5:35audio out there on our live Oh my God shout out.
- 5:42Real quick shout out to everyone in the chat.
- 5:46Evil era. Everyone on our live.
- 5:49Says I'm gay. No, no surprise there.
- 5:54Basic. Mega News Network says Sam is a
- 6:00globalist and can walk silly. Kelly says poop and then or
- 6:07something like that. Well.
- 6:10Well, hey, not everybody in the audience has the same taste, I
- 6:15guess, you know. Yeah, I mean.
- 6:18He likes his poop. I I I guess.
- 6:23This is this is the topic to open with when you have a
- 6:25congressional staffer on, right? It's shit, because that's 90% of
- 6:29what fucking goes on down in DC, isn't it?
- 6:32Yeah, well, I, I well, I'm honestly gonna have to ask my
- 6:35friend. Like how long are?
- 6:37Specifically eating shit that sounds about like what they do
- 6:40up there. It's.
- 6:44Making them comfortable. He's gonna be listening.
- 6:47He's gonna be like I ain't coming on Sam.
- 6:51Yeah, yeah he's he's probably he's probably already 2 dead and
- 6:59he's he's probably like, I don't.
- 7:01Even mean him. You're like you.
- 7:03Just have to figure how much like as a I'm I'm being serious
- 7:07now, right as a staffer, it really is probably tons and tons
- 7:11of shit flinging everywhere in the sense of just everything
- 7:16that's not the politician's fault is going to be the
- 7:20staffers responsibility and fault.
- 7:23Is what I imagine. To be the case, right?
- 7:27Oh yeah. And job, and, you know, it's
- 7:31it's, I've known some congressional staffers.
- 7:35I guess that's not the most glamorous job, but it is, you
- 7:40know, kind of how the whole deck of cards rolls around, right?
- 7:46Yeah, well, well, that. Well, that's the whole thing
- 7:49too, right? Is like, you get like, you'll
- 7:53get angry people who call in to like the representatives.
- 7:57Yeah. And they never actually talk to
- 7:59the representative. They always talk to like either
- 8:01some, you know, communications guy, which is what my friend is,
- 8:06or they talk to some poor college intern, you know, who's
- 8:10just. And you got to remember that
- 8:13these people are often like angry boomers that are very low
- 8:17information. And somebody somewhere got to
- 8:21them a story that made them angry enough to call their
- 8:24congressman. And then you pick up the phone
- 8:27because you work there. And it's like, I heard that you
- 8:30all are going to take my Social Security away.
- 8:33And I just want you to know that you going to rot in hell.
- 8:36And you're like, yes, ma'am, we're not taking your Social
- 8:38Security away. My job.
- 8:43Yeah. I mean, I I don't want to spawn
- 8:45anything from my friend. I mean, I I've heard some wild
- 8:48stories that like, I, you know, I can't tell.
- 8:51I'm, I'm, I'm going with the lowest level for comedy's sake,
- 8:55but also throw in the mix fucking threats constantly.
- 9:00All. Of these people.
- 9:01Get tons of fucking threats. All of them.
- 9:03Well, all of them at one point or another get like phone calls
- 9:07too, that they they've like seen extraterrestrial or or aliens.
- 9:12Or foots in my backyard. You ever go to like, town
- 9:16meetings or watch town meeting streams and just see like
- 9:19there's always one of those guys?
- 9:21There was a guy years ago in a town I used to live in who was
- 9:26very famous locally because he tried to change his name to
- 9:29Jesus Christ and and he would go.
- 9:33Oh. Yeah.
- 9:35He'd go, well, there's a lot of those.
- 9:36You say, Oh yeah, no, there's like thousands and thousands of
- 9:40those guys, right, that want to be Jesus Christ.
- 9:43But this guy in particular was also he would go to all, like,
- 9:46the town meetings, you say, Oh yeah, he wouldn't be famous
- 9:49outside of here. But it's an archetype of a guy.
- 9:52That's why you say, Oh yeah, 'cause there's one everywhere,
- 9:55right, The skit. So.
- 9:58And they got too much time on their hands and they read like
- 10:01Weekly World News or something. One of my, you know.
- 10:07Alien impregnated their butt and you have to talk to you're
- 10:11you're a staffer now answering the phone.
- 10:13You got to talk to them and you have to treat them with respect.
- 10:17One of my favorite stories. Is like you're a fucking crazy
- 10:21retard. Get off the phone.
- 10:22You got to be like yes, ma'am. I'm sorry that the alien
- 10:25impregnated your butt. There's nothing I could really
- 10:28do about that. Yeah, yeah, it's.
- 10:32Like, what do you do? What do you say?
- 10:35You know that's these are the, these are the.
- 10:38The thoughts that rattle. Around Max's brain, you know.
- 10:42One of my favorite stories is it wasn't even from here in the US,
- 10:48but there there was like a town. I think it was like in Finland
- 10:52or something, because of course it is where some guy ran as like
- 10:58mayor of a town as like Darth Vader unironically.
- 11:02No, in London. 1. They have a lot of like
- 11:06candidates like that that run as jokes.
- 11:10I Remember Me and Shmuley got introduced to this concept from
- 11:14like an old friend because we were watching an actual election
- 11:17because of Brexit and we didn't know that joke candidates in
- 11:21England they take very seriously.
- 11:24Which is ironic, I know, but it's true.
- 11:27They had joke candidates winning.
- 11:29And the guy in the dark, The guy in the Darth Vader thing you
- 11:32might be referring to? He didn't win, but he was a
- 11:35candidate against, Oh my God, the Prime Minister.
- 11:40The retarded one. The Tony Blair.
- 11:46No, the new one that was retarded.
- 11:50Oh. They elected him through Brexit
- 11:53and he's like really dumb and I can't remember his name.
- 11:56Oh, Boris Johnson. Boris Johnson.
- 12:01Yeah, Boris Johnson. It's like, my favorite thing
- 12:06about Boris Johnson is Brits are great because they're like, ha
- 12:11ha, he's like a retarded man. We should put him in charge.
- 12:17Well. They're all laughing at him and
- 12:19making fun of how stupid he was and they were like, oh this
- 12:22case, very dumb. We should make him run the whole
- 12:25country. Well, the thing that I love is
- 12:30like, over here, like a lot of Americans were saying that.
- 12:33Like, we're saying that like Boris Johnson is the British
- 12:38Trump. And it's like I'm not.
- 12:43I actually. Go ahead.
- 12:45That's the only comparison. I I will actually back that up
- 12:49to a degree. Like he, he is their unique
- 12:52manifestation of of what like works for them.
- 12:58He literally did. Like I'm going to put on a silly
- 13:01hat and say something off putting and then I'm going to
- 13:04zip line and it's going to look silly and so they won't, you
- 13:07know, be able to criticize me. He is.
- 13:11He is uniquely British in that way, like Max was saying.
- 13:15And so, like I I think you could.
- 13:17Totally. Picture him doing a Monty Python
- 13:20bit in drag. Yes.
- 13:24Now, see, that would be funny. And I mean I.
- 13:29Does stuff. Equally stupid, though.
- 13:32What did you see? There was one of him, like
- 13:34ziplining, and he's in like a full safety harness looking like
- 13:37a big baby. And like, he's very, like for
- 13:42physical slapstick comedy. He might be the best world
- 13:46leader of our time for that. It's either him or George W
- 13:49Bush. They're very close, and they
- 13:51both have that kind of same vibe of being, like mildly retarded.
- 13:55But they're actually pretty smart guys In most ways.
- 13:58They're just come off as mildly retarded, and I think they both
- 14:02lean into it, too. You know who doesn't lean into
- 14:05being retarded? John Fetterman.
- 14:13John Fetterman actually like I. Know what you're going to say.
- 14:18And that's why I say he doesn't lean into fully being retarded,
- 14:22because he actually is mentally retarded.
- 14:25And he still makes rational decisions sometimes when
- 14:29presented with proper information.
- 14:31Imagine that. How many people in Congress can
- 14:34you say that about? Not very many.
- 14:40I want. To.
- 14:41Apologize now to Schmooly, who's been a supporter of Federman
- 14:45from the beginning, and I now have to say that I see what he
- 14:50was going for there. And it was.
- 14:53Actually, brilliant. Well, like.
- 14:57Yeah, John Federman, working class.
- 14:59Retard is a better senator than almost anybody you could put in
- 15:04there. Who to thunk?
- 15:06Schmooly me. Yeah, I I thought it, it was
- 15:09obvious. I mean, part of it was that it
- 15:11was just so funny. So it was God's will sort of
- 15:14said, yeah, he's going to win, right?
- 15:16So that was fun. B.
- 15:18Because conservatives had this like retarded blind spot where
- 15:22they're like, I think that the shifty guy that no one trusts is
- 15:27going to win because Federman said said a bunch of words that
- 15:32were in coherent. We do have to point out that his
- 15:34opponent was literally standing on a podium with a black top hat
- 15:38saying, ladies and gentlemen, step up and buy my snake oil.
- 15:42Yeah, yeah, I mean, really, Doctor Oz?
- 15:45Oh, he's a great one. I mean, the other thing is that,
- 15:48like, it was also funny watching conservatives bend over
- 15:52backwards to explain to me you know, what they actually liked
- 15:57about Oz. Yeah, he he's, yeah, he's been
- 16:04in the front of the cameras for a very long time.
- 16:08Well. It's.
- 16:10Retarded. Self.
- 16:11Evidently. Dumb.
- 16:13Self, evidently the wrong candidate.
- 16:15And then once again, Federman coming from.
- 16:17The place. And then came a sweat suited
- 16:20stroke victim to represent the everyman and just like a fucking
- 16:26movie out of Hollywood, the retarded guy comes in and he's
- 16:29just magically powered and takes over.
- 16:31Who knew? Well, and and and to kind of let
- 16:34the mask drop a little bit. Like, Federman is the kind of
- 16:38Democrat that would be likable in a place like him.
- 16:42If if you kind of know his track record, Yeah, he's sort of.
- 16:45He's a union guy. Well, he guy.
- 16:47He was a mayor, right? And the Prince.
- 16:50'S pro union and he portrays himself as like.
- 16:54A. Peer of the union guys, Yeah,
- 16:56that's what I should say. But like he was a.
- 16:59Steel worker. Originally.
- 17:00When he was mayor, he kind of just unilaterally did things
- 17:04himself with his buddies and his NGOs.
- 17:07It sort of like got the things that he wanted done, built parks
- 17:11and stuff. The town fell apart.
- 17:12He was actually. He was actually a very effective
- 17:14advocate for his causes in the day, except that once it
- 17:19implemented they made everything worse.
- 17:22But but just ignore that for a second if you care about getting
- 17:25policy passed. He was actually really good at
- 17:27it pre stroke. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:29But a lot of, a lot of, a lot of what he did was like just bypass
- 17:34shit and build it yourself. Just bought the land with the
- 17:36money he had. Because he's he comes from
- 17:39money. He has a large network of
- 17:41people. He's in the engine.
- 17:42He has a similar mentality to Buddy Cianci.
- 17:46I don't know if anybody's familiar with, but he was the
- 17:48mayor of Providence who worked with the Mafia openly.
- 17:53He told everybody this, he says. These are the only people who
- 17:55can get these fucking streets clean anyway.
- 17:58Yeah. And they put him in jail.
- 18:00They hold on. I want to.
- 18:01I want to finish the buddy CNC story because I think it's
- 18:03fucking important they put him in jail for corruption, right?
- 18:07The the the prosecutors and shit 'cause he went around everything
- 18:09and he used the mob to do it. Guess what fucking happened?
- 18:12He got out of jail. He got re elected mayor.
- 18:15Yep. Yeah, there was actually an
- 18:18entire podcast. There was actually, there was
- 18:21actually an entire podcast about that called Crime Town.
- 18:24That's actually worth. Sure.
- 18:27But I, I I just lived here. I used to have a free Buddy
- 18:30T-shirt. Actually, yeah.
- 18:31Legitimately hashtag Free Buddy CNC on AT shirt.
- 18:35So ladies and gentlemen. Yes, he was a Democrat and I
- 18:39don't give a fuck. You can hate on me for it,
- 18:41buddy. CNC was a local Democrat, and
- 18:43they're usually not as bad. Yeah.
- 18:48Anyway, he wore his. Corruption out in the open with.
- 18:53Is my dear friend returning to the program after a long while?
- 19:00Mr. Luke Nicholas. How are you doing, Sir?
- 19:04I'm well, how's it going gents? Who?
- 19:06Who do we have on it? So this is my coast Max and then
- 19:14we have Shmuley here. Hey Max, Hey schmooly.
- 19:17How are we doing this evening? I'm doing quite well, doing
- 19:21quite well. Good, good, good.
- 19:23I'm calling from the beautiful state of Colorado, where we've
- 19:27just learned some news that instead of running for
- 19:31Congressional District 3, the illustrious Lauren Boebert will
- 19:36be running for CD4, where Ken Buck once represented.
- 19:44Well. Which is quite the change up.
- 19:47I mean, Lauren Boebert was certain to lose in CD3 against
- 19:51the Democrat City Councilman from Aspen, Adam Frisch.
- 19:56And now she's almost sure to win.
- 19:58In the new congressional debating loss.
- 20:00I just want to point out that would be a devastating loss.
- 20:02I've actually been a big fan of her in Congress.
- 20:05So yeah, if it if it works out, keep her.
- 20:08Error for it for sure. I think that's a reasonable
- 20:11position to hold. I think, you know, she was
- 20:15whatever you may think of her, she won that district by less
- 20:19than 500 votes in 2022. Very.
- 20:23I mean it was very close. I mean it would, you know,
- 20:26Colorado has a law that you have to do a recount if it's under, I
- 20:30think 1200, if it's within that margin, it might be even less
- 20:33than that. And they activated that
- 20:37provision of law and they had to do a recount and it was like
- 20:40less than 500. I mean, it was right there.
- 20:44So we'll see. We'll see what happens.
- 20:46I mean, it looks like Lauren Bobert's going to be the
- 20:48successor of Ken Buck in Congressional District 4 here in
- 20:52in Colorado, which is interesting.
- 20:55I mean, she's coming into that race with like $1.4 million in
- 21:00the bank and the closest primary candidate might have, might have
- 21:06100 grand, you know? Yeah, I mean, she's got national
- 21:10name recognition. You know, go.
- 21:12Ahead what I was saying the the nitty gritty of politics that a
- 21:15lot of people get lost in, like the meta stuff, right in the
- 21:18news cycle. But, like, and This is why I
- 21:22kind of stepped away from dealing with, like, even local
- 21:24electoral politics in like in, you know, being involved in it
- 21:28in any way, or volunteering for the most part is 'cause it's
- 21:31it's a grind. It's an actual.
- 21:33Job and a. Grind and it will wear you down.
- 21:38And we were we were talking about like staffers who just
- 21:40take calls before you came on. I, I, I and so I figured we
- 21:44might ask if you have. Oh.
- 21:45God, like, yeah. 'Cause there's, I was pointing
- 21:49out, there's always the guy that's got abducted by aliens
- 21:52and they put. Bro, those are the trenches.
- 21:54Those are the trenches right there.
- 21:56You cannot be a policy wonk or a I mean, this is my opinion.
- 22:04I don't think you should ever be a public servant at the federal
- 22:08or state level if you have not made several hours of phone
- 22:13calls with actual people. You know what I'm saying?
- 22:17Listen to their concerns, took notes on them, wrote them a
- 22:22letter back, called them back, gave them to the member of
- 22:26Congress or the member of House or wherever you are, whatever
- 22:29level of government. And especially not one.
- 22:32You know and help them and actually and it doesn't even
- 22:35matter at that point like because if you're coming from
- 22:37the elected side, you have a duty to serve.
- 22:39They're your constituents. And yes, yes.
- 22:42Again, these are things I feel get lost on people I used to do
- 22:45a lot. But there's fucking crazies.
- 22:47You're totally right. I'm sorry to interrupt.
- 22:49You. You there is the guy who's like,
- 22:52you know these aliens. And maybe there were.
- 22:55I mean, I don't know. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm pretty open
- 22:58to the discussion about aliens, but like.
- 23:00But you have an. Experience.
- 23:02You know of some kind that? He's trying to tell you about
- 23:05and maybe it was only. Totally bro.
- 23:07We've had people call us from, you know, no you cannot, you
- 23:11cannot like, but we have had people call us with you know
- 23:14death threats and I said. That too, I.
- 23:17Said, you know, like trying to be sexual with you on the phone
- 23:21or with one of your interns, you know, or or just outright like
- 23:25they're calling from another district.
- 23:26They're a Californian liberal. Or they're a W Virginian deep
- 23:30conservative prepper, you know, or oh.
- 23:33Your candidate said this thing and I'm.
- 23:36Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's like, Sir, do you need
- 23:40a passport expedited, You know what I'm saying?
- 23:45How can we do you need to get connected to the VA, You know,
- 23:48like how how can we serve you? And of course, if you just have
- 23:53an opinion, like if you train your, your interns, right, they
- 23:56should be passing that up to the congressman, up to the member,
- 24:00you know. Yeah.
- 24:01We had a lot of people call today about this issue.
- 24:04Right. Yeah.
- 24:05Yes. Yes, Sir.
- 24:06That's exactly what you got to do.
- 24:08Yeah. I did a little bit of.
- 24:10That with the Libertarian Party on a smaller scale and that's
- 24:13kind of why I feel connected I guess to the small scale of it.
- 24:17But they turned they they kicked me out actually for going to a
- 24:20protest, which is the most UN libertarian thing I've ever
- 24:23heard. I said.
- 24:25I said to the head of the last you.
- 24:29Understand that I wouldn't get kicked out of the Democrat or
- 24:32Republican Party no matter what I went to.
- 24:35Oh my gosh. Yeah, it.
- 24:36Was like you understand the well.
- 24:38Potentially potentially. Like as a like to sign your
- 24:42yourself as a registered Republican.
- 24:46They're not going to say, oh, you went to this March.
- 24:48Get out of here. No, right, exactly.
- 24:50Yeah. Get that to me.
- 24:52The supposedly most, you know, freedom oriented party.
- 24:55You're telling me they excommunicated you from
- 24:57registering as a libertarian? Anybody that, well, they said I
- 25:01shouldn't, but they can't stop. Yeah, there's no.
- 25:05Yeah. But I get what you're saying.
- 25:07Yeah. They would be like, yes, we
- 25:09would love to have another R registered in your district.
- 25:11Thank you. You don't.
- 25:12Care. Number on a piece.
- 25:15Of paper. Yeah.
- 25:15Yeah, totally, totally. Oh my gosh.
- 25:19And if we can think of. Extreme examples on both sides
- 25:21of that, you know. I don't wanna, I don't wanna,
- 25:24like, spend too much time crabbing on them.
- 25:26But it's like so unprofessionally run the
- 25:29Libertarian Party, and I think that is actually their biggest
- 25:32problem, is that they anybody that walks in the door, they
- 25:36want to give a position of power to.
- 25:38Like, oh, you. Walked in.
- 25:40Today. You're the Treasurer.
- 25:43Are you sure about that? AM IA worthy candidate?
- 25:46Yeah. Now, some states are better than
- 25:47others, but I am Speaking of a couple of states that I've dealt
- 25:50with. And it as as soon as I left,
- 25:53'cause I was just kind of like I was politically homeless, I
- 25:56guess you could say. But I've always leaned on the
- 25:58conservative side of things. And, you know, Trump, Trump kind
- 26:03of brought me into the Republican thing, but I've
- 26:05always kind of leaned, you know, I liked Ron Paul, obviously I'm
- 26:08not gonna not. And that was the thing.
- 26:11Why would I vote for the libertarian when Ron Paul's
- 26:13running? Yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 26:16Sense and they don't like. That they don't like.
- 26:18That. Look, you're the small fish, and
- 26:20you're actually just supposed to kind of be a vanguard.
- 26:24Do you remember Justin Amash? Yeah, Sam, didn't you do some
- 26:29work for Justin Amash or something like that?
- 26:32Yeah, I did. I did work for Justin Amash when
- 26:35I was in, when I was with the college, when I was with the
- 26:39Young Americans for Liberty. So, and I actually met Ron Paul,
- 26:44but then I got I basically got dismissed from Yao because.
- 26:51You met Ron, the senior senior, Paul, Ron or Rand?
- 26:57No, I saw. I saw Ron Paul speak, and I she.
- 27:01Gets cold. That's pretty cool.
- 27:03I didn't even know that, Sam. Oh yeah, I I that was like, I
- 27:10think that was 2018. Did you give him a standing
- 27:13ovation? Oh.
- 27:18My God, no. No.
- 27:20I mean, I would have, but, you know, I was.
- 27:24There. I wasn't able to the The funny
- 27:27thing was is I I so I drove down with my buddies to Memphis for
- 27:34that event and it was a fun it was a fun road trip.
- 27:41But Ron Paul came out and he's like, he's in his 90s.
- 27:45I was going to say he is an old man nowadays.
- 27:48Yeah, yeah. And.
- 27:49You got to take. What You get and take it in
- 27:52because, right? Yep, he won't be here.
- 27:55Forever and all these like young 20 something, you know young men
- 28:00were were just screaming at the top of them while while I'm
- 28:04sharing his name like like you know Mick Jagger had showed up
- 28:08or something and you could just see that like Ron was like Ron
- 28:13was just like affected by like the noise level.
- 28:16Like you could hear him be, you could just see him be be like ow
- 28:20this is too loud. I don't want to be here right.
- 28:23Yeah, they forget me. Not only is he old, but he's
- 28:26kind of a nerd, right? And he's used to quiet studies.
- 28:29And yeah, you know, the Senate chambers isn't as loud as you
- 28:33might imagine. There's only like 110 people in
- 28:36there. I mean to be, you know, to be to
- 28:39be fair, Kennedy was also there. So you know, I think some of the
- 28:44guys were also hyped up after seeing her.
- 28:46Oh man. Oh, but.
- 28:48Energy. Energy is great.
- 28:49I'm just saying Ron's, you know, got on in years and maybe you
- 28:52give him a little space. Yeah, but also like, I don't
- 28:56think, I don't think Ron Paul knows, like, what a rock star he
- 28:59is to some people either. Not really, no.
- 29:03Which is kind of. Indeed, it's endearing.
- 29:06Yeah, it's endearing, but it's it's kind of hard for him to
- 29:08fathom, right? But they look at him in in the
- 29:11in the fandom way because that's not how he sees the world.
- 29:15Like like when I when I, when I shook his hand, I just, you
- 29:18know, said hi, thanks, you know, thanks for being here.
- 29:21Like I didn't take up too much of his time.
- 29:23But how do you think his son has done in filling?
- 29:27You know, I they're not. They're not the same ilk
- 29:31necessarily, but they are similar.
- 29:33How do you? What do you?
- 29:34Think about. Rand, Rand, I was split on from
- 29:37the beginning for myself, but especially because he did
- 29:42endorse Mitt Romney over his father, That kind of hurt.
- 29:45As a guy that was working on the campaign at the time, that kind
- 29:48of hurt. But it's like, that's your dad.
- 29:51I get why he did it, but it held a grudge for a while.
- 29:53But I'll say this. That was some good.
- 29:56I forgot about that. Wow.
- 29:58Really redeemed himself in my eyes from that since then to a
- 30:03large degree. Well, I think.
- 30:06That is because his style being different from his dad is that
- 30:10he's kind of he's more on the politic, schmoozing side.
- 30:15I guess you could say he's more on the deal making side.
- 30:17He's and he is a, you know, he's a Republican.
- 30:19He's not a libertarian. Yeah, that goes a long way too.
- 30:24The one, the one, the one thing I've always said about about
- 30:28about Rand. The thing I've said about about
- 30:31Rand. Luke and I, I know you're not a
- 30:33fan of Trump, but like, I've like I've said, I don't know if
- 30:39I've told you this, but Rand is like Trump but without, like,
- 30:42the the, the verbal text and whatnot.
- 30:47I feel like Trump helped Rand find kind of his voice is what I
- 30:51would say, which is not Trump's voice at all 'cause he goes
- 30:54against him on some things. But certainly Rand in the post
- 30:58Trump era kind of carries himself differently with much
- 31:03more confidence. I don't know.
- 31:06I can. I can't speak too much about
- 31:08what's going on in the Senate or I mean I, you know, I know a
- 31:12little bit about Rand and I have family that works for Rand, but
- 31:17I. I'm just speaking from from.
- 31:20Public. Yeah, I think that's.
- 31:22I think that's totally fair. Yeah.
- 31:24I mean. And also he's been through
- 31:27personal hardships as well. He's been attacked by that guy
- 31:30and and. His fucking neighbor, Dude.
- 31:32That was a bad deal, yeah. Yeah, it seems like all of that
- 31:36has shaped him into somebody that I would be OK voting for
- 31:41for something, whatever. I can't 'cause I'm he's not
- 31:43running in my area, but. Sure.
- 31:45He's kind of. He's a budget hawk.
- 31:46I know he's definitely a budget hawk.
- 31:48He's introduced like 1% cut bill every year.
- 31:53Yep, you know what I'm saying? Like everything should just be
- 31:56cut by it's like the penny plan or you know, the 1% plan or
- 31:59something like that. And it's like a a cut every year
- 32:05in all of our programs across the board mandatory
- 32:09discretionary spending. He stood his ground on the the
- 32:12unlimited spending 911 bill, which I however.
- 32:16You come. Down on that.
- 32:18You have to respect. That he stood his ground on the
- 32:21budget issue of it and and didn't waver, and it represented
- 32:26that because that's a lot of unlimited spending, is a scary
- 32:29idea to a lot of. Basically can see yeah, he might
- 32:33think I can definitely conservative.
- 32:36But I got, I got into politics when I was a kid through Ross
- 32:39Perot, and I'm a big Pat Buchanan guy, right?
- 32:42So the budget stuff is huge for me and him standing like that
- 32:47and saying, look, these people obviously need help, but they
- 32:52cannot possibly need unlimited money forever.
- 32:56Yeah, yeah. I mean, there's, I agree with
- 32:59that. There's, you know, 1000
- 33:02different programs that could be reformed to save money.
- 33:04I mean part of it is it's not like I I think a lot of these
- 33:09like I think Ross Perot came at it and I think Rand is coming at
- 33:13it. And this is just from a budget
- 33:16perspective and and maybe they're a lot of what they're
- 33:18saying is campaign rhetoric. It's not actually what they
- 33:22would say behind closed doors. You know, like when you're down
- 33:25in the nitty gritty and you're looking at US code and you're
- 33:29looking at, you know, what reports are required.
- 33:32How do we cut money? How do we modernize and
- 33:34streamline programs with reforms that keep the integrity of the
- 33:40government intact but save us money and at the same time kind
- 33:46of shrink the government? You know, it's a difficult thing
- 33:50because every government program has a constituency and they know
- 33:54that. You know, of course, like that's
- 33:56just being built in because it's usually the people that.
- 33:59Right. Like, what I'm getting my point
- 34:01here is that, like cutting the budget, cutting government
- 34:06spending is a way more nuanced topic that, you know, I mean, we
- 34:12need to be talking about. It's not just 1% cuts across the
- 34:15board. It doesn't work like that.
- 34:17I mean, it could, it wouldn't be a good thing.
- 34:20It wouldn't be the nuanced scalpel precision or actual
- 34:25thoughtful reform, you know. Speaking for Rand here, but I
- 34:28think no, no. With some of.
- 34:31This. I think what he's trying to do
- 34:33is just bring it into the con, much like his dad did with a lot
- 34:37of issues, right? For sure.
- 34:38Yeah, and, and that's what I'm saying, I think it's a a
- 34:40rhetorical flavor, you know, or flair.
- 34:44Like, I don't think that's how Rand is behind closed doors.
- 34:47As the. Senate goes, if I'm looking to
- 34:50like leadership on the right and and trying to get something
- 34:54passed, he wouldn't be the first name that I use.
- 34:57But if we're talking about standing your ground on an
- 34:59issue, he's definitely the first one.
- 35:02Well, well, one thing that's his selling point, right?
- 35:05And. Even if I disagree with the
- 35:07issue, I still acknowledge that he would stand.
- 35:09For sure. Yeah.
- 35:11Well, yeah, I think that's fair. Yeah.
- 35:13Well. Well, one thing that even like a
- 35:14lot of moderate Democrats I know and Grant and I'm in Florida, so
- 35:18like even a lot of the Democrats here are like more conservative
- 35:22ish. But one thing that, like even
- 35:24some of the Democrats admit that, like Ron Paul was right
- 35:28about is like we need term limits for Congress.
- 35:32Like, you know and. That is the most erroneous
- 35:37policy that could ever be enacted in our government.
- 35:41What makes you? What makes you say that?
- 35:44Term limits in Colorado have effectively given control of our
- 35:49state to the Lobby corps. Yeah 'cause they just pass it
- 35:53around. Yes.
- 35:55Why would you limit an American's freedom to vote for
- 35:58someone they believe has done a good job?
- 36:01Why shouldn't that person, you know, who learns all about I
- 36:05know old men in the House and the Senate who walk, who
- 36:10lobbyists walk in their door and they're like, I know all what
- 36:12you're fucking about. And I'm not going to vote the
- 36:15way you want me to vote on this bill because I got other fucking
- 36:18priorities that my people care about.
- 36:21The problem is though is is I I see that point but but the flip
- 36:26side of that is, is then you get people like Nancy Pelosi who are
- 36:31just in there forever and. It might.
- 36:34It might actually be preferable, and I had not considered this
- 36:38point before, but as soon as he said it, it makes perfect sense.
- 36:40The lobbyists would then take the the Nancy Pelosi's position
- 36:46and just start passing it between themselves.
- 36:49You get your run this year, then you get your run this year.
- 36:53And the the the the fact of the matter is Sam, is that like he
- 36:56said you build up a certain amount of institutional
- 36:59knowledge and. We're lacking it.
- 37:02Please praise it this. Means that if we have to get new
- 37:06people every four years, this is going to harm us much more than
- 37:12it's going to benefit us, and you're going to increase the
- 37:14power of the sort of like, he said, the unelected power
- 37:18brokers. But.
- 37:19We also need new blood. Yeah, well, that.
- 37:23Well, that. Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 37:24I'm not saying that we need, but we need new politicians every
- 37:27four years. Like clearly I do think we need
- 37:30people from that have experience.
- 37:32But at some point, like if if you're someone like Joe Biden,
- 37:37who has been, you know, who has been in there since the 70s and
- 37:42you know is now 105 like. Perhaps, perhaps.
- 37:47Some kind of age limits more than terms.
- 37:50Yeah, like, yeah, like that. Because.
- 37:52I was going to. Say, here's the question then
- 37:54Sam. And this is what somebody
- 37:55working in politics has to deal with.
- 37:57You say everybody says term limits, right?
- 38:00What's the limit? Specific.
- 38:02You have to write a law Specific, right?
- 38:04So how many terms before you say no more And then and then you
- 38:09have to deal with the other people are going to say maybe
- 38:11it's two more than that and maybe it's two less than that
- 38:13and you have to hash all that shit out.
- 38:15The fine details is most of what like the the people are working
- 38:19on over there is what employs a lot of lawyers down there and
- 38:22lobbyists same thing. I.
- 38:24Repeat myself. Well, I certainly that that's
- 38:28the question. I think, I think it's, I think
- 38:30it is worth explore and I think that I think that's what Ron
- 38:34Paul meant he he didn't say that like now the ironic Part 2 is
- 38:40like Ron Paul, you know he was saying that while he was you
- 38:44know. Serving and serving and serving
- 38:48and serving. Yeah.
- 38:50So I mean, I I'm not, I'm not blind to the fact that, like,
- 38:54you know, he might be a bit of a hypocrite, but it is certainly
- 38:58worth, you know, recognizing that.
- 39:00But the but the lobbyist cartel I'm that's what I'm going to
- 39:03call. I'm not sure if there's a
- 39:05there's a phrase for that argument, but the lobbyist
- 39:08cartel theory makes perfect sense to me and is the first
- 39:12counter argument I've heard to term limits that makes me say,
- 39:16yeah, maybe I mean yeah, age limits or I don't know,
- 39:21competency requirements I think is even getting sketchy because
- 39:25then. You have to say.
- 39:27We have the voter, that's what we we have the voter who can
- 39:30determine if there's a better candidate.
- 39:33And we have the courts. We have an impeachment.
- 39:35We have checks and balances already in place that I mean
- 39:40we've we've run a pretty good race here with the checks and
- 39:43balances we have. You know introducing some kind
- 39:46of radical fucking reform on how long you can serve is.
- 39:52I think that's. I honestly think that's radical.
- 39:55I really do. Here's a Here's another factor,
- 39:58right? Say somebody gets elected.
- 39:59They're a young guy that runs. It's one of those rare cases, 18
- 40:03years old, he's elected. Another guy gets elected when
- 40:06he's in his 50s. They get the same allowance of
- 40:10how many terms they can serve before you've decided they've
- 40:12been there too long. You know there's context.
- 40:16There's going to be. And of course the child would
- 40:19end up in the courts too as well.
- 40:21You have to remember that. You know, if if there's a
- 40:24disagreement on an issue, and of course you could also make the
- 40:27case that yes, a lot of them are old and it's not in their best
- 40:29interest to vote on this at all anyway, so you're not going to
- 40:33get a vote on it. And that's that's been my
- 40:36argument from the beginning, that it's a waste of time, even
- 40:39though it is a very popular topic because you're wasting a
- 40:42vote. That's never going to happen
- 40:43because all the old people in Congress aren't going to vote
- 40:45themselves out. So I just want to say that Luke,
- 40:49Luke, So you actually agree with Sam now you think it's radical?
- 40:53I think that I think a a limit on terms is a radical and not a
- 40:59good thing. I I don't think it's a good
- 41:01thing. Oh, so you meant radical Is,
- 41:03like, bad? As in bad?
- 41:05Yes. No.
- 41:07Not like rad bro radicalism. Like outside the status quo, the
- 41:12conservative status quo that has kept this.
- 41:14I mean, that's what I want to conserve is the status quo.
- 41:17I do want less regulations, less laws.
- 41:20I want the people to be free to choose who they want to choose
- 41:23for as long as they want to keep marking that fucking box.
- 41:27I. Like I like the guy.
- 41:28Sam. You.
- 41:29Know what I'm saying? You told me we were going to
- 41:31disagree. So I have years.
- 41:33For. Fucking years.
- 41:35And the problem with the status quo and why?
- 41:37Like the things are failing, right?
- 41:39It's not because of the fucking systems that we've built.
- 41:42It is literally a competency gap.
- 41:45It's the over bloating of those systems the woke, the waste and
- 41:49the bloat. Yeah, that's I think.
- 41:52You got people. Coming.
- 41:53In to a lot of like, infrastructure and stuff, right,
- 41:56that are now being hired not because they're the most skilled
- 41:59engineer, but because of DEI initiatives and all of this
- 42:03stuff. And that, yes, creates A
- 42:06competency gap. Suddenly bridges aren't taken
- 42:09care of as well as they used to be.
- 42:11Suddenly the power grid fails a little more than it used to.
- 42:15It's and it's not. Just DE I I mean I would say
- 42:17that's probably a part of it, but it's also like.
- 42:20Education is another one. I mean, education is a huge one.
- 42:24It's just a big behemoth of a government.
- 42:26And you know, there's been the a lot of bureaucrats that are just
- 42:31writing new regulations. That's just their job.
- 42:34How do we write new regulations? And to build a fucking Rd. a
- 42:38Federal Highway in this country, you have to do the NEPA
- 42:42analysis. You have to, you have to talk to
- 42:45like 15 federal agencies to get this NEPA analysis done.
- 42:49And then you have to do a a Endangered Species Act analysis,
- 42:53a Clean Air and Water Act analysis.
- 42:56I mean, it is an endless litany of regulations.
- 43:01And every one of the steps in the way builds an agency with it
- 43:05that employs a whole bunch of. People, that's that's somebody
- 43:09you have to talk to, somebody you have to talk to.
- 43:10I mean Republicans tried to fix this when we had control of the
- 43:13House, this Congress, and we're still going to fight for this is
- 43:16HR2. The Lower Energy Costs Act was a
- 43:19huge deal that we've been trying to get past.
- 43:21And that's what, you know, part of, you know, what we've been
- 43:25negotiating with the Democrats in the Senate is we need to pass
- 43:28some legislation that pulls down this fucking bureaucracy so our
- 43:31country can get moving, you know?
- 43:33Yeah. The one thing, one more thing.
- 43:37I just want to say one thing and I I'm so sorry for steamrolling.
- 43:40But no, no problem. The most eloquent defense
- 43:45against term limits against them, or maybe I would say
- 43:51offense against them, is a speech by Henry Hyde on the
- 43:56House floor in the 1980s. This is where we get the He's
- 44:00the guy who did the Hyde. Amendment.
- 44:01I do remember the Hyde. Yeah, I.
- 44:04You know, no federal dollars to abortion is the Hyde Amendment,
- 44:07and it's part of every spending package that we've done since
- 44:11its existence. You know, 30-40 fifty years ago.
- 44:15Anyway, Henry Hyde's term limit speech on the House floor is the
- 44:22most eloquent attack against and defense against term limits I've
- 44:27ever seen. I mean, just incredible.
- 44:30You really got to see it. It's amazing if you got free
- 44:33time looking up. I I absolutely.
- 44:35Will do that. I certainly will too.
- 44:39I think though one thing I I think they're kind of getting
- 44:44back to the term limits. I think, I think that you in and
- 44:47from the kind of hit on my point as to why people want term
- 44:52limits and I hadn't really considered this I guess out loud
- 44:56before. But people are sick and tired of
- 45:00the, I guess, the bureaucracy. And they think, they think that
- 45:04term limits will fix that because they think it's the
- 45:08problem of the politicians, when it's really the problem of the
- 45:11unelected bureaucrats, I mean. Even if the term limits like
- 45:16theoretically could help, it's a much more complex problem.
- 45:19Like I'm saying, there's competency gap for many reasons.
- 45:22There's there's certain industries and fields all
- 45:26throughout America that new blood isn't coming in at all.
- 45:30There's other fields that it's they're just flooded with people
- 45:33who have qualifications and there's just not enough jobs.
- 45:37That that's a perfect example of a lot of people in my
- 45:39generation, we're told go to college.
- 45:41Not just go to college, but specifically get an get an IT
- 45:44degree right? Yeah, and then?
- 45:46What happened? There's a million people between
- 45:49like 35 and 40 years old who have an IT degree and they're
- 45:52working at Geek Squad at Best Buy for just over minimum wage
- 45:57because there's too many of them.
- 45:59Because the that was like a a kind of like boomer era thing is
- 46:03like push your kids to get, oh, they're all going to get jobs
- 46:05and computers. You should.
- 46:07Too. And the guys?
- 46:08Who really hit it were like geographically, I mean, I don't,
- 46:12I don't really know like what's the difference between, you
- 46:15know, Sam Altman and Joe Schmo who got their?
- 46:19Well, I mean, Sam Altman went to illustrious universities and,
- 46:23you know, I don't know where did Sam Altman go to school.
- 46:28I'm not. AI don't know.
- 46:30I feel like I think a lot of it has.
- 46:32To do with. But there are Harvard.
- 46:34I live in Massachusetts and there are Harvard.
- 46:36Maybe MIT, he might have gone on.
- 46:39Right, exactly. Yeah.
- 46:40I mean, but that's the thing. I think a lot of those degrees
- 46:44were more useful based on where you were geographically, you
- 46:48know, like if you went to school near Silicon Valley or were
- 46:51connected with people in that realm, right?
- 46:54You might have been, you know, Joe Schmo getting an IT degree
- 46:58might have been more effective, you know.
- 47:00Which is why I say right now if you're a.
- 47:02Young guy, yeah. If you're in like the Florida
- 47:06area, that might be a hot place to be.
- 47:08If you're like in Texas, Austin, that might be a hot place to be
- 47:12for a young what. Do you think?
- 47:14What do you think are like the hottest jobs at Stanford?
- 47:18University. Which is in Palo Alto.
- 47:21I mean, that's where fucking, you know, Apple was started.
- 47:25You know, like where Steve Jobs lived.
- 47:28I mean, that's where he grew up is Palo Alto.
- 47:31Everybody's going to say the answer to the question, 'cause
- 47:33it's a good question. What's the hottest jobs?
- 47:35Everybody's going to say AI. And that's exactly why I say not
- 47:40that one specifically, because I feel that you're going to have
- 47:43the same effect as I was talking about with the IT rush of the
- 47:46early 2000s, a bunch of guys who go to school for AI and there
- 47:51ends up being a hell of a lot less positions in the field than
- 47:54they anticipate. So I don't know what the answer
- 47:57is, but I feel like everybody's first instinct is going to be to
- 48:00say AI, right? Yeah, well, well, that, well,
- 48:03that's the case of like too many generals and not enough, you
- 48:07know, soldiers, right? Like, well, that's like just
- 48:12when, like, you know, when Luke and I were coming up, like like
- 48:16everyone when I when we were in high school.
- 48:19I don't know about you Luke, but like I got advised to get like a
- 48:22business degree because I was interested in business.
- 48:27So everyone was telling me to get into into business.
- 48:32Well, when I arrived here in Florida and tried to get into
- 48:37the Business School, I didn't have the prereqs to to do it.
- 48:41But as it turned out, I did have the prereqs to do my technical
- 48:47communications program and and as it turned out like that for
- 48:51me personally at least, having an English degree actually
- 48:57worked out way better for me. Because you know, even though
- 49:01I'm a freelancer, I've been able to like make more money than
- 49:06perhaps maybe just you know Scott or someone randomly who
- 49:12just has your generic business, you know, degree or or
- 49:17something. As as a as a you know mid 20s
- 49:22guy, it's just kind of like getting a little bit more of my
- 49:26stride. It's astonishing the degree to
- 49:28which networking benefits you. It's really my my background is
- 49:34more into economics and studying human action and business that
- 49:38that is my degree is a business related field.
- 49:43It's astonishing how selling yourself is a requirement, and
- 49:48knowing what value you can bring to people and providing value to
- 49:53their lives so that they can remember that is astonishingly
- 49:56useful. Yeah.
- 49:58How you? How you package.
- 50:01How you package the the deal is it that matters even if because
- 50:05I never went to college right I'm we have such a variety of.
- 50:09It's a life skill. Experience and just selling
- 50:13yourself. I've gotten jobs that college
- 50:15degree was a requirement for. Right.
- 50:19Because it's like, Oh well, on. On the other hand, he knows how
- 50:22to code at a time when not very many people.
- 50:24And this is what I tell young guys, wherever field you're in,
- 50:28find something specialized within it and really hone in on
- 50:32that because that makes you valuable.
- 50:34I think that's. Good advice, yeah.
- 50:37If you're in like blue collar work like one of the things
- 50:40that's real easy to pick up and get certs for welding.
- 50:43There will always be need for welders.
- 50:46Confident field welders get paid very very well.
- 50:50But any any specialized thing you can do to put you a step
- 50:56above the competition and it's obvious on a resume, right it
- 51:00needs to be at. A read like this is a skill that
- 51:03we could use or that we don't have to teach this person.
- 51:07Yeah. And and I'm trying to think
- 51:11because obviously I don't want to sort of give away too much.
- 51:15But yeah, I I just can't. I can't emphasize enough.
- 51:20The being aware of what you're providing to other people and
- 51:27how you're selling yourself is so important in the realm of
- 51:31making money, having acquaintances, right, getting
- 51:35women right, finding a Good Wife or whatever.
- 51:38Like all of these, these life milestones.
- 51:45Are on via that. I think those milestones are, I
- 51:49mean, you know, they're the epochs of our lives, you know,
- 51:55and we make decisions on what people in our lives help to
- 52:01shape us. You.
- 52:03Know, since I've been a young man, it's always been a goal of
- 52:06mine to, like, find men who are older than me, who are doing
- 52:11things that I think are awesome and successful.
- 52:14They're well respected by their peers.
- 52:17There are pillars in their community.
- 52:19You know, how do I get to know these men, work for them, see
- 52:22how they operate and then garner that father, son, mentor, mentee
- 52:28relationship and owe them. Yeah, you know, I every
- 52:33successful man, every successful person should be able to point
- 52:38out to one or two or three or four or five or six or more
- 52:44people that they owe everything to, that they.
- 52:48If if any favour were called up, that would be, I would have to
- 52:52do it. I'd have to do it, You know, I
- 52:55owe him the world for. That, and on the flip side, when
- 52:57you get older, right pay. It forward, baby.
- 53:01Yeah. Pay it forward, baby.
- 53:03Absolutely. Yes.
- 53:04You. Want to remember who brought you
- 53:06to the? Table you want to manage.
- 53:08Them you bring other people with.
- 53:11And so and so there's a lot of people who are more in our line
- 53:16of thinking a broadly right wing conservative, however you want
- 53:20to chalk it up that are very, very anti college at this point
- 53:24understandably. I mean I'm I, I think that the,
- 53:29I I won't get into it, but the media academic complex is
- 53:32basically the root of all of our problems in my view.
- 53:35But going to college statistically does give you an
- 53:40advantage in terms of income and that kind of thing.
- 53:45I think that. If you if you make the right
- 53:48choices, it will. Yes.
- 53:50Yeah. So I I want to.
- 53:52I want while while I do, I want to counter signal this, don't go
- 53:56to college mentality that a lot of people have, especially when
- 54:01it's directed towards young people who want to potentially
- 54:04gain influence, gain power that is advantageous.
- 54:08It's how the elite are sort of selected.
- 54:12But I also don't want to do the. I want to give them advice that
- 54:18doesn't lead them into this, like overproduction of wannabe
- 54:22elites like the left has to deal with now.
- 54:25That's their biggest problem really, is they have a whole
- 54:28generation that all think they're gonna be the commissar
- 54:31or whatever. I want, I want.
- 54:33The young people, yeah, I want the.
- 54:38Young the. Young people that agree with me
- 54:41to actually. Be successful in gaining money,
- 54:43influence, power, and that kind of thing.
- 54:45So like. We're just having a family, a
- 54:48solid family, and you know, being a small business owner in
- 54:52your community and being well respected and, you know,
- 54:56teaching your kids to, you know, shovel the widow's walk when
- 55:00there's snow on the ground. Don't ever let her lift a finger
- 55:03to do that, you know. Preface this whole thing like I
- 55:07think you guys are going to disagree and argue and you've
- 55:11been saying the stuff I've been saying on this show all year.
- 55:15Well, I love that and. I love that dude.
- 55:18Praise God for that, you know. Well, to to be fair, I I thought
- 55:22you two would mainly quibble over the the the Trump flag in.
- 55:28No, no. Because here's what it is,
- 55:30right? It's like I get if a guy comes
- 55:32in, I didn't come in from like the hardcore Christian
- 55:35perspective to the right. I'm actually came in primarily.
- 55:39Like I said, I was into the economic stuff.
- 55:42Right. And Ross Perot.
- 55:43And I was I was somewhat involved with the Reform Party.
- 55:47I I worked with as a volunteer on the Pat Buchanan campaign
- 55:50when I was in high school. I've you know.
- 55:53And the the right wasn't right for me either, because the holy
- 55:58rollers of my time weren't kind to me.
- 56:02Right. I have.
- 56:03I have a guy that I became friends with over the years.
- 56:06You might have heard of the West Memphis Three and Damian Echols.
- 56:08I was like pen pals with him. That was in jail simply by the
- 56:12fact that he wore heavy metal clothes and there was a murder
- 56:16and they just assumed the heavy metal kids did it and he was on
- 56:18death for 25 years. What?
- 56:21Dude. And they finally have let him
- 56:23out and he lives up in like Salem, MA now and.
- 56:26Like he's. A He's a Wiccan now or whatever,
- 56:29and I'm not really into that. Whatever.
- 56:31No, whatever. He's doing this thing.
- 56:33Like the the holy rollers of the 90s are not what I see and
- 56:37experience now either. And I want to point that out
- 56:40because people are like, well, well, Max, you said things in
- 56:42the past. And it's like, yeah, if I run
- 56:45into the holy rollers that I think are out of control now, I
- 56:48say so. But I usually most Christians
- 56:50nowadays just are basically trying to defend the little turf
- 56:53they have left. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:55I mean, I like I could call out the bad act.
- 56:58Like in my opinion, Matt Walsh has come under my radar.
- 57:01I I didn't really consume any of his content as of recently.
- 57:05I think he's kind of going off the reservation.
- 57:09Well, I, well I. Is he the guy who was like
- 57:12Catholic apologetics and was condemning?
- 57:18I mean, I don't. I kind of vaguely remember him.
- 57:20It's. Like a Daily Wire kind of guy.
- 57:23Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's right.
- 57:25Yeah. He was saying.
- 57:26That guy? Yeah.
- 57:28Well, in in particular, he said that like religion, supersedes
- 57:32the law of the land and then endorsed tearing down statues.
- 57:36He's he's like a dominionist. Yeah.
- 57:39Yeah. Basically, that's.
- 57:41Exactly what I'm saying, I. I.
- 57:44I don't, but. But I meet Christians now,
- 57:47especially a lot of Trump supporting Christians and
- 57:49evangelicals, and they're in a whole different headspace from
- 57:52the people trying to cancel my metal music and my Dungeons and
- 57:55Dragons. They don't.
- 57:56They they're trying to preserve the the very little bit of space
- 58:01they have left in society and being raised Catholic, being up
- 58:05here in Massachusetts, one thing that stood out to me like this
- 58:08is the difference between when I was a kid and the, you know, the
- 58:11bad Christians were trying to censor and now is.
- 58:14I saw during the riots they had beheaded one of the oldest Mary
- 58:17statues in the country. Well, that meant a lot to a lot
- 58:21of. A lot of.
- 58:22People in that. Area.
- 58:23It's a historic Boston church, and it's a just an absolute
- 58:27desecration of their place of worship.
- 58:31In the name of what? Hurt like that doesn't
- 58:33accomplish anything. It just hurts some people.
- 58:36I think that's one thing that's made the US pretty successful.
- 58:40And I mean, I think the Anglo sphere and maybe broader spheres
- 58:44outside of that, but like the balance that our society has
- 58:49struck in the past 500 years between maybe longer than 500
- 58:55years, but maybe we have to just sit at the Reformation.
- 58:59Point is the balance between the sanctity of religion and its
- 59:06place in society, but also the need for like secularization,
- 59:13you. You know what I'm saying?
- 59:14Like, is that a reasonable thing?
- 59:15Like the secular spheres must respect the sacred, transcendent
- 59:21spheres of human life. You.
- 59:24Know I don't. I don't need to be stomping your
- 59:26holy ground. No.
- 59:28No, but you don't need to put your holy ground in my face.
- 59:33Yeah, as as an American, you're an American, You're an American,
- 59:36you're an American. As a Catholic, you are not a
- 59:40Catholic because you do not believe these things.
- 59:43You know, you can make a delineation like that, you know?
- 59:46Or as a Catholic, you know, I, you know, transubstantiation is
- 59:51what we believe, you know. And if you don't believe that
- 59:54you are not a Catholic, you know.
- 59:57Correct. Yep.
- 59:58Yeah, well, it's it's. Pretty cut and dry too.
- 1:00:01The way the way I would frame it is not sort of secular versus
- 1:00:05religious actually it's it's it's just deeper than that.
- 1:00:08It's avoiding the cost of fighting each other and allowing
- 1:00:13us to live together in a society where we can enjoy the benefits
- 1:00:17of not having those problems. Because when you when you get to
- 1:00:22the point, like the Matt Walsh thing, it's like, well the the
- 1:00:26satanic statue that was built is just inherently bad and it's
- 1:00:30wrong. It's self evidently wrong and it
- 1:00:33doesn't matter if it's legal. We can go there and vandalize
- 1:00:37the statue and tear it down and that's self evidently good.
- 1:00:40And then some guy comes along and decides that you're crucifix
- 1:00:44or you're your stained glass windows.
- 1:00:48I mean, Varg comes along Varg Vicarnis in Norway and decides
- 1:00:52your old beautiful churches get burnt down.
- 1:00:54It's the same thing, right? You have to inspect the law and
- 1:00:58order of the land. And part of that is we respect
- 1:01:00people's sacred places, even if they're different from our own.
- 1:01:04And yes, I agree with that, but I am not somebody who believes
- 1:01:08in just tolerance. I mean, I really think if your
- 1:01:11religion's values are sadistic or they don't line up with our
- 1:01:17values. I mean I think there are basic
- 1:01:21principles like if your religion is and and this is what the
- 1:01:26human rights of the Geneva. This is what post 19.
- 1:01:29Stay in your fucking. Box and we have no Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:33but yeah, right. Follow the laws.
- 1:01:35Human rights are a real. Thing.
- 1:01:37I don't know if you're OK with it, but I cuss like.
- 1:01:39Yeah, no, that's what. Come on, please.
- 1:01:42Right. Please.
- 1:01:43I've been trying not to to use the particular F slur that is
- 1:01:47like a part of my vocabulary, just out of my own thing that's
- 1:01:51been. Hard to use.
- 1:01:52Me. I've been using it this whole
- 1:01:54time. I'm telling you, I I cuss like a
- 1:01:56sailor. Don't even sweat.
- 1:01:57No, I no, listen, you you should hear some of the phone
- 1:02:01conversations that Luke and I have.
- 1:02:03No. We get into it, but.
- 1:02:04Seriously. Like even with stuff like
- 1:02:07because to some degree woke is a religion, right?
- 1:02:10And and there are stepping out of their box.
- 1:02:12That's what it really is, the the the same people I'm
- 1:02:15complaining about who were grinding down people like me
- 1:02:19listening to metal music. We're still even just a loud
- 1:02:22minority of Christians then. And I know that because I was a
- 1:02:25Rush Limbaugh listener. You know what I mean?
- 1:02:28So, like, because my grandfather got me into it when I was a kid.
- 1:02:30So I knew conservatives weren't all crazy, right?
- 1:02:34And that's what a lot of people No.
- 1:02:36This is important, though, because a lot of people in our
- 1:02:38age group didn't get that lesson and instead they got their
- 1:02:42political education from Jon Stewart on Comedy Central.
- 1:02:45Tell me if I'm wrong. That's where their their views
- 1:02:49stem from. But now the gay stuff in
- 1:02:50particular has stepped so far outside of the box.
- 1:02:54The thing I said I got banned for was I went to do the
- 1:02:57straight Pride parade in Boston and it a lot of people didn't
- 1:03:00get it. It was partially a joke, right?
- 1:03:04And I held up a sign that said make normal, see normal again.
- 1:03:08And I got on like CBS News and stuff like.
- 1:03:10That. Seriously.
- 1:03:11Wow. You got on the.
- 1:03:14That's funny. Because they were all like, what
- 1:03:16does normal even mean? And I was like, hey, guess what?
- 1:03:19You got my sign, idiot. Yeah.
- 1:03:23Oh, I see. Yeah.
- 1:03:24Yeah. Wow.
- 1:03:24The. Other thing like, to some
- 1:03:26degree, we all know what normal is, right?
- 1:03:29And that was the joke of the sign is like, we all know what
- 1:03:32normal is and normal is not what some of the pride parade in
- 1:03:36Boston does. Oh.
- 1:03:38And a lot of, I think a lot of Democrats out there understand
- 1:03:41that. Like they have their radical
- 1:03:43wing. You know, like in the in the
- 1:03:46culture war, like the Republicans have pretty radical
- 1:03:50people out there. I mean, we really do.
- 1:03:52We have some crazy mofos on our team and some of them I would.
- 1:03:58Say do not our team. Or who think yes, yeah, preach
- 1:04:01that. Yes, for sure, dude.
- 1:04:03And I think the Democrat, the Democrats are saying the same
- 1:04:06thing. We know that they are.
- 1:04:08I mean, like every Democrat who's like, oh, you're a
- 1:04:11Democrat that supports, you know, RFK like and that's like
- 1:04:15he was pulling at like 17% at one point.
- 1:04:18What? And some people really like him,
- 1:04:21but a normal mainstream Democrat fucking hates RFK and thinks
- 1:04:26they need to consult. Realize it's.
- 1:04:28Not just the covic stuff he's saying they hated.
- 1:04:31They thought he was stupid before that because he was the
- 1:04:34vaccines called autism guy. Right, Whatever people.
- 1:04:37Think about that issue. I'm not here to judge anybodies
- 1:04:40beliefs on it, but the the mainstream Democrat party thinks
- 1:04:44that that is like the stupidest opinion you can have.
- 1:04:47Oh, wait, but you know, and I'm not, I'm a very pro vaccine
- 1:04:50person. I'm totally about that.
- 1:04:53So long as it's well studied and goes through the bureaucratic
- 1:04:55process to verify, it's good, you know all the all the normal
- 1:04:59procedures. Taking precautions.
- 1:05:01Right. Most of the time actually.
- 1:05:03But I know there have been court cases, one wherein vaccines
- 1:05:08caused serious long term problems.
- 1:05:12Right, well. And.
- 1:05:12They were not disclosed. Yeah, I mean, we know, we know
- 1:05:16the government was testing stuff, the Tuskegee Airmen,
- 1:05:19blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And.
- 1:05:20That's one thing I was saying during Kovid.
- 1:05:22They were like, why do a lot of black people not get the COVID
- 1:05:25vaccine? And I'm like because their
- 1:05:26grandfather got a vaccine from the government and gave him
- 1:05:29syphilis, bro. Or, or they got polio from the
- 1:05:33fucking polio vaccine or diet, you know, or whatever.
- 1:05:36Yeah. In the black community, that's a
- 1:05:37real living memory. That's just.
- 1:05:40Grandpa. Well.
- 1:05:42My my whole thing was. I mean, I've told each of you
- 1:05:47this story like privately, but like I didn't get the COVID
- 1:05:51vaccine. But it's not because I'm anti
- 1:05:53VAX, it's because the last time I got the flu vaccine, I
- 1:05:58actually got the flu like really bad and.
- 1:06:02Also, my cousin is a nurse. I I think I've said that to her
- 1:06:06before, bro. And she's disabused me of that
- 1:06:08notion. And I know I can't remember the
- 1:06:11science behind it, but I don't think it's coming from the
- 1:06:13vaccine. That's all I'm.
- 1:06:14Saying I mean that that's fair. But it's a it's a fair reaction.
- 1:06:18And she's a nurse, yeah. What?
- 1:06:20I I don't know. I don't know what.
- 1:06:21I I get. It I get it.
- 1:06:23From I know a lot of people like this in I got the flu vax and
- 1:06:29then I got sick and that it's easy to make that connection.
- 1:06:32What I what I'm saying is that what I'm saying though Luke is
- 1:06:35like before COVID, like I would share that story and people be
- 1:06:39like oh OK, so like I understand why you don't want to get the
- 1:06:43flu vaccine. Well then after COVID happened,
- 1:06:46it became you don't want to get the vaccine, you just want
- 1:06:50grandma to die and. It's like.
- 1:06:52Grandma. And it's like.
- 1:06:53No, I I'm not like I'm not a crazy anti Vaxxer.
- 1:06:57Like I'm just making this decision for myself and if you
- 1:07:00know, if you want, like I've never shamed other people for
- 1:07:04getting the vaccine. Like I'm not one of those.
- 1:07:07I I didn't know this, Sam. I mean, you're a crazy anti
- 1:07:11vaxxer and you want grandma to die and so I can't be
- 1:07:14associated. There you go.
- 1:07:17Disavow. Sam, that might have been the
- 1:07:20reason you were are you back on YouTube or are you off YouTube
- 1:07:23or what's the. Deal.
- 1:07:24No, I Well, listen, Sam. Everybody else gets kicked off
- 1:07:28because they won't take the COVID vaccine.
- 1:07:30Sam will be the one guy that gets kicked off because of the
- 1:07:32flu. Vaccine.
- 1:07:33Oh my gosh, no, I. No.
- 1:07:37What? I don't know if I told you this
- 1:07:40story. I think I did tell you this
- 1:07:41story, but like Max and Shmuley were both there for it.
- 1:07:45But you remember when my grandfather passed away earlier
- 1:07:48this year, I actually got kicked off because off of YouTube in
- 1:07:55the middle of me eulogizing my grandfather?
- 1:07:58Yes. And.
- 1:07:59So. And he was streaming on another
- 1:08:03platform. So you can see the whole thing
- 1:08:05if you look over here on Rumble, where they don't ban you for
- 1:08:08eulogizing your grandfather. Is that where we are right now?
- 1:08:11I don't even know what. I'm on.
- 1:08:13We have. A couple we're on like we're on
- 1:08:15like Twitter and Spotify. We're on Rumble and we're on
- 1:08:19Rumble and we're on Twitter, Or I guess X, as it's called now,
- 1:08:24but I just call it Twitter. And we're going on three years
- 1:08:27right now of you guys teaming up on this project.
- 1:08:29And don't don't forget, only fans.
- 1:08:31No. Just just a year.
- 1:08:33Oh, that's awesome. I love that.
- 1:08:35Only fan onlyfans.com/sam. If you got that handle, that
- 1:08:44would be amazing. There's probably a million Sam's
- 1:08:46on only fans right now. Well.
- 1:08:48I joke, yeah. Somebody looks that up in the
- 1:08:51audience and they're not going to find him.
- 1:08:53No. Episodes ago, though, we got a
- 1:08:55topless Sam picture on the stream, so I joked.
- 1:09:02I'm playing. A long.
- 1:09:03Game. Back when I back when Apex and I
- 1:09:06used to do the stream, and I know you've met Apex before,
- 1:09:09Luke, he and I used to. Do.
- 1:09:10Oh yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, he's good, man.
- 1:09:13He and I used to do parodies of like Alex Jones that I would
- 1:09:17always, like, rip my shirt off like Alex Jones.
- 1:09:20Oh my God. That's what happened is Apex he,
- 1:09:25he had to stop the show for personal reasons.
- 1:09:28And I was like, well, I can fill in Sam or I'll get some of my
- 1:09:32friends and we'll do rotating. And we've just been having so
- 1:09:34much fun since they got banned, especially because now we can
- 1:09:38just talk freely and we've been having some fun.
- 1:09:41We had Kurt Doolittle on that. That was a good one.
- 1:09:45We've had oh God, you had your friend in Israel on right after
- 1:09:49the the. Attack.
- 1:09:50Oh. Dude, I gotta go back and watch
- 1:09:53that one. Sam, you were telling me about
- 1:09:55that on the phone? Yeah, I yeah, I mean I bought.
- 1:09:59Yeah, I bought. Well, I mean but that but like
- 1:10:03that's type of stuff that like I'm also happy to do because
- 1:10:06like no one was and she was just and my friend in Israel is just
- 1:10:11a, you know she's no one. She's not really a public
- 1:10:14figure. She's just a civilian on the
- 1:10:16ground. But like, often times those
- 1:10:20people are like better informed than the so-called experts on,
- 1:10:26you know, the news or something because they're actually in the
- 1:10:29trenches. And it's more relatable because,
- 1:10:32you know, you see something on the news or you see a video
- 1:10:35scrolling across your Twitter feed versus having somebody
- 1:10:39who's there and they have an experience.
- 1:10:41And this is something we've been talking.
- 1:10:42About a lot on the show. Is like I I I made-up a
- 1:10:45fictional character in Palestine named Muhammad, and he don't
- 1:10:49care much for Hamas. He just wants to drive his truck
- 1:10:52for his job, right? And I can empathize with this
- 1:10:55person no matter what anybody else.
- 1:10:57Says. And I, so, you know, our stance
- 1:11:00has kind of been like I, you know, I've been saying
- 1:11:03specifically, I don't care how corny it is, I've want peace,
- 1:11:06right? That's my main objective, is for
- 1:11:09people to stop dying because it's awful.
- 1:11:12Yeah, yeah. It is a terrible and difficult
- 1:11:14situation and I mean whoever it. Sounds so corny, but it's just
- 1:11:19like. No, it's.
- 1:11:20Empathize with. Human beings I.
- 1:11:23Mean. I mean, Luke, I think I've told.
- 1:11:26I think I've told you this, but like you know I've had Ben
- 1:11:29Shapiro on my show famously. But one of the things that I
- 1:11:33vehemently disagree with him on is he seems to have taken this
- 1:11:37stance that you know if you're not for the IDF fully going in
- 1:11:46and just wiping, you know, gauze off the map, basically turning
- 1:11:50into glass, you're an anti Semite.
- 1:11:53And by all means I am all for the IDF taking Hamas and doing
- 1:12:00what they need to do. But I think you know, civilian
- 1:12:03casualties. Understand the reality is that
- 1:12:06it's more complex than there's the bad guys go get them right
- 1:12:10and that doesn't make anybody anti semit.
- 1:12:12I mean I'm AI famously have like an Israel flag in my my Twitter
- 1:12:16handle and I had it before the attacks.
- 1:12:18It was an idiot test because somebody really comments on it.
- 1:12:21They're almost always like an anti Semite and I can disregard
- 1:12:23their opinion. Yeah.
- 1:12:26I'm not at. All.
- 1:12:27Right. I just have it there literally,
- 1:12:29because I know that this person isn't worth talking to.
- 1:12:32If they're like, why do you have that?
- 1:12:34I have a cross and I just want I'm like a Zionist and I'm not
- 1:12:40that either, right? Well, like, I mean, I've been
- 1:12:43called. I ate anti semi me.
- 1:12:47Schmooly. Yeah.
- 1:12:48Schmooly. Yeah, yeah, I get.
- 1:12:52The funny thing is, I get targeted with anti-Semitism now
- 1:12:55because of the flag in my name. Yeah.
- 1:12:58It's. Crazy I had.
- 1:12:59I had. A guy who was making a video
- 1:13:01game glorifying Hamas that posted under that they were
- 1:13:05going to like, put me in the game and kill me and stuff.
- 1:13:08And it's just like. What?
- 1:13:10Yeah, yeah, right on Twitter. Oh.
- 1:13:13My God. Me, it was just a random guy and
- 1:13:16he was like, it's called Habas Heroes is the game and it was on
- 1:13:19Steam. Do you think Twitter is is
- 1:13:22better now? I think, yeah, actually, yeah.
- 1:13:26I like the openness in. I like even that that happens.
- 1:13:30And I understand that not everybody can handle that kind
- 1:13:32of thing, right? I don't block anybody.
- 1:13:35I'm a free speech guy. I don't get offended by
- 1:13:38anything. I love that he's an absolutist.
- 1:13:40That's a. Great thing.
- 1:13:41Not complete absolutist, but pretty close, you know.
- 1:13:45OK. Yeah, I think that's.
- 1:13:46Reasonable versus Ohio free speech guy.
- 1:13:50Yeah, I'm a Brandenburg V Ohio free speech guy.
- 1:13:53What? What is that?
- 1:13:54The Ohio State shootings? What is what?
- 1:13:56Is the case. Remind me of precedent.
- 1:13:59Supreme Court decision basically, and I can't say what
- 1:14:04was said, but the a Klan put out a video, OK?
- 1:14:07And in the video they they suggested as a matter of a
- 1:14:11policy that they were advocating politically that you L the ends
- 1:14:17OK. And the video was ruled by the
- 1:14:21Supreme Court to be free speech. Right.
- 1:14:25Because they. Because what they said is.
- 1:14:28The Brandenburg test. They they created what they
- 1:14:31called the Brandenburg test and the Brandenburg test is are you
- 1:14:35advocating a policy position or are you specifically saying this
- 1:14:38person at this time in this? Place OK.
- 1:14:42Yeah, yeah, I've heard that before.
- 1:14:43Are you making it basically? The.
- 1:14:45Brandenburg Free speech distinction is are you making a
- 1:14:49threat like an actual threat? An imminent.
- 1:14:53Call It's been a minute since Con Law.
- 1:14:56Well, it's. Just it's just yeah, like.
- 1:14:59It's good to keep up on that precedent with all this shit
- 1:15:01going on in the world, though. Like, that's excellent.
- 1:15:04Yeah. Well, just as as somebody, I
- 1:15:06think maximum of both, we both sort of have like a passion
- 1:15:09that's one of our firm beliefs is freedom of speech.
- 1:15:12And so people go, well, like, where's the line?
- 1:15:14And like Brandenburg. Same here.
- 1:15:16Like if I say, hey, people who I'm with right now, let's go
- 1:15:21commit violence, that would be. That would cross the line over
- 1:15:26to incitement. But simply saying that violence
- 1:15:30should be done is not. And this is This is.
- 1:15:33As that's why I. Say tings.
- 1:15:35Full as it may be, saying I, if elected, would kill these people
- 1:15:42is legal and should be legal. And my argument for that is
- 1:15:46nobody in their right mind is ever going to vote for that
- 1:15:48person. And if they do, we've fallen so
- 1:15:50far as a society that I really hope God comes and wipes.
- 1:15:52Us all out. So even with a lot of these,
- 1:15:54like, Hamas protesters, I I find what they're saying really,
- 1:16:00really distasteful. But it's not illegal.
- 1:16:04And it may violate Harvard's. I mean, this was the whole thing
- 1:16:09that was before the Committee on Education and Workforce is like,
- 1:16:13you know, you had all the Harvard presidents or MIT,
- 1:16:16Harvard and University of Pennsylvania come in there And,
- 1:16:19you know, they could not answer that simple question from Elise
- 1:16:22Stefanik. Like, does the calling of
- 1:16:25genocide for the Jewish people violate Harvard's rule, ethics,
- 1:16:30rules, and regulations with regard to free speech?
- 1:16:33Well and. Well, what?
- 1:16:35I'm. Saying bullying, bullying and
- 1:16:36harassment we don't. It wasn't anything to do with
- 1:16:39the 1st Amendment. Right.
- 1:16:41We don't have to fund it either. That's that's an important
- 1:16:44thing. Just because I think you should
- 1:16:47be able to advocate for whatever crazy shit you want.
- 1:16:50We don't have to fund an institution with federal dollars
- 1:16:55that advocates that, right? That's that's a big distinction.
- 1:16:58Yeah. And those are private.
- 1:16:59Those are private institutions. All three of those are private
- 1:17:02institutions. Do they receive?
- 1:17:04Billions. Oh fuck.
- 1:17:06And you better believe they maybe not.
- 1:17:09Well, yeah, probably substance. But they have government grants
- 1:17:12and contracts out of the ass billions of dollars.
- 1:17:15Well, there's a contract in there, and it's not just a
- 1:17:17social contract. It's an actual you're taking
- 1:17:20government funds. And because then the people, we
- 1:17:23the people, our money at least have some right to some to to
- 1:17:27suggest that, look, you should respect free speech or is this
- 1:17:31too much on a college campus and does it violate your own rules
- 1:17:34and we should hold you to account?
- 1:17:36Well, that I say I'm not a free speech extremist.
- 1:17:39If make sure I. I would.
- 1:17:41I would pause it. I would pause it that it's kind
- 1:17:43of they're being guillotined by their own guillotine.
- 1:17:49And so I find it beautiful and poetic that these sort of left
- 1:17:53wing activists who would have told you that freedom of speech
- 1:17:56was bad are now being, you know, hung because they crossed the
- 1:18:00line because no one told them the line because all of the
- 1:18:03institutions have always sided with them.
- 1:18:06Well, now they're finding themselves being attacked.
- 1:18:08But I would say that kind of the whole ethos that was purported
- 1:18:14by these these college colleges was the exact opposite of the
- 1:18:19idea of freedom of speech. It was the idea that, like, you
- 1:18:23can't do hate speech. And of course, what is and is
- 1:18:27not hate speech will just be determined by those with power.
- 1:18:31Obviously. Whatever aligns with what we
- 1:18:34like and what we don't, yeah. Yes, or whatever aligns with,
- 1:18:38yeah, Harvard's Board of directors and their liberal
- 1:18:42professors. And I mean that's who's
- 1:18:44determining in in that small ecosystem which is not
- 1:18:48accountable to the Constitution. And it's very comedic then to
- 1:18:52hold them to those standards and be like, hey, this violates your
- 1:18:56own standards. I I get why it's kind of
- 1:18:59satisfying to people, but at the end of the day, I don't think
- 1:19:01any of them are going to be held accountable either.
- 1:19:04Well, I mean, what's her name? Step down.
- 1:19:06You had Jewish, you know, you had Jewish alumni and pro Israel
- 1:19:11Israeli alumni's saying we're just not going to fund your
- 1:19:15endowment anymore. And they were losing hundreds of
- 1:19:18millions, literally billions of dollars for not standing and
- 1:19:23condemning this rhetoric on their.
- 1:19:26You can let people say whatever they want, but you sure as hell
- 1:19:29don't have to give them your money.
- 1:19:31Sure. Yeah, yeah, that's damn right.
- 1:19:33Yeah, yeah. And I have I have an.
- 1:19:35Anecdote that you might like that these these guys have
- 1:19:37heard, cause I've told it a couple times, but I feel like it
- 1:19:40kind of sums up the left's feelings on Palestine.
- 1:19:43I do a lot of walking cause I've been losing weight, you know,
- 1:19:46hit 40. I'm a dad, I want to stick
- 1:19:47around. I'm out.
- 1:19:49There walking and I see on the side of the road one of those
- 1:19:52little handheld Palestine flags right, that you would have at a
- 1:19:55protest directly in the other direction down the road is a a
- 1:20:00famously liberal college that I am certain I don't need to look
- 1:20:04it up or anything. Had a Palestine protest right?
- 1:20:08And so then that to me says what happened here is as they're
- 1:20:12driving home to mommy and Daddy's house, those little
- 1:20:14white liberal girls, they threw the Palestinian Palestine
- 1:20:18Humphrey Palestine flag right out the fucking window and on
- 1:20:22the ground because it's just an accessory to their outfit.
- 1:20:27They don't give a shit about these topics.
- 1:20:30It's a fashion statement and a trend among these 19 year old
- 1:20:33girls. It literally is a TikTok trend.
- 1:20:35Yep. Yeah.
- 1:20:36Literally. No it.
- 1:20:37It literally is. Yeah.
- 1:20:39They have no understanding of the history of the conflict of
- 1:20:41what's been going on of the Oslo Accords or the settlers or what
- 1:20:46Hamas has done in the past or I mean they on on both sides of
- 1:20:50the conflict. They have no notion, you know.
- 1:20:54Gentlemen, I am sorry to be abrupt, but I do have to
- 1:20:58skedaddle. It has been such an honor to be
- 1:21:02on here with you, Sam. I love you.
- 1:21:04You are my brother and and thank you everyone else on here.
- 1:21:09I don't know how many people we have on who are watching, but I
- 1:21:14love Sam dearly. I've known him my entire life
- 1:21:16and I think he's really doing a good thing here.
- 1:21:20And Sam, I, you know I can't say much more, but thank you for
- 1:21:24having me on. Before you leave, someone in
- 1:21:27chat said that you can't walk, unlike Sam is this.
- 1:21:33True. I can't walk, unlike Sam.
- 1:21:36Yes. Right.
- 1:21:37Well, OK, there's a conspiracy in chat that Sam can really
- 1:21:40walk. And so now they're conspiracy
- 1:21:43theory. And that you actually can't.
- 1:21:45Get that? He's that he's hijacked my life,
- 1:21:48my life story, and tried to make money off of Patreon donors for
- 1:21:53pity. Now they're starting.
- 1:21:57To believe now you're. Going to feed them oh, oh, oh
- 1:21:59we're. Standing it off Now, now, the.
- 1:22:02All right, boys, I got to go. I'll see you later, Sam.
- 1:22:05Time, Sir. See you.
- 1:22:06Gents. Happy New Year if I don't.
- 1:22:08Yeah, Happy New Year to all. Yes.
- 1:22:11Yeah, yeah, we'll talk. See ya.
- 1:22:13See, we never saw him stand. That's how he laughed.
- 1:22:17Right after the. Question have well, have you
- 1:22:21guys ever seen me stand though That's the.
- 1:22:24Yeah, you showed a. Picture.
- 1:22:26You showed us a. Picture of it, dude.
- 1:22:29OK, but like you can just see me from the from like the the waist
- 1:22:34down. I could have been like kneeling
- 1:22:37or whatever, which is what I was.
- 1:22:39You had like the you had. The like.
- 1:22:41Posing like you had had the. Guns.
- 1:22:45You had the I take sexy Selfies guy pose.
- 1:22:50You had the like divorced dad sexed where you stand up and.
- 1:22:58You. Kind of aimed down and all you
- 1:23:00can see my. Abs like, yeah.
- 1:23:02How do you have taken that in a wheelchair?
- 1:23:04It's impossible, Sam. Because I'm just that good.
- 1:23:09Wheelchair guy who's ever lived. And look, look, I I didn't
- 1:23:12believe a lot of this stuff like, like perhaps you propped
- 1:23:15yourself up with one hand or whatever, like.
- 1:23:19That that's exactly what that that's exactly what I'm.
- 1:23:22I'm not saying. I'm not saying that you can run
- 1:23:25around, you know, fucking free as the wind, OK?
- 1:23:30But this might be like, you know how, like, how blind is the guy?
- 1:23:35Really? Kind of a deal, you know well.
- 1:23:39Listen, like, I will say this like Bersh loved to like make
- 1:23:46fun of me and you know, pretend that like I was some ultra
- 1:23:49cripple. But then like.
- 1:23:52Oh, Jesse. That's.
- 1:23:55So. Fucking cool.
- 1:23:57Yeah. But then.
- 1:23:59But then Jesse and everyone else was like, but then Jesse and
- 1:24:04everyone else was like Bersh stutters more than Sam does.
- 1:24:07I don't know what he's well. He's doing like, making fun of
- 1:24:11Sam stuttering, because merch stutters a lot more than Sam
- 1:24:15does. I've never seen you have a
- 1:24:17stroke. No.
- 1:24:21So that's one that you have going for you.
- 1:24:24I'm willing to bet you a little more pussy than merch.
- 1:24:27Well. Yeah, I mean, I at.
- 1:24:29Least have a higher quality. Yeah.
- 1:24:32Well, I mean, yeah. I don't know merch.
- 1:24:37Got 3 cats now. I hate to talk about Mersch, but
- 1:24:44I'm all like, every time he's brought up, I'm just reminded of
- 1:24:46the fact that, like, he was hanging out in, like, the Ruby
- 1:24:49Tuesday bar on a Wednesday and he was so offended that this
- 1:24:54this single mother came up and hit on me.
- 1:24:57It's like, yeah, obviously, like, he thinks he's above that.
- 1:25:02Like like she did something wrong.
- 1:25:07Yeah, like. Like you're you're the guy in
- 1:25:10his 30s at the Ruby Tuesday bar on a Wednesday night.
- 1:25:14Like, yes, she hit on you, your peers.
- 1:25:19So I want to I want to talk about something.
- 1:25:22Sam here. You know you can't hyping it up.
- 1:25:24We were going to have this this argument with this this Neo con
- 1:25:29guy you said Neo con. I hope he.
- 1:25:30I hope he sees this and I was like.
- 1:25:35Like. I'm a pretty nice guy.
- 1:25:37Like, I get along with people. I can meet people where they're
- 1:25:40at pretty well. We didn't disagree.
- 1:25:42Once. Yeah, where?
- 1:25:45Where was the disagreement? Like I I I told Max.
- 1:25:50I'm sure I'm fucking. He came.
- 1:25:52For the disagreement. Yeah, he he did well.
- 1:25:56He and I have been friends since Kinder.
- 1:25:59He and I have been friends since kindergarten.
- 1:26:01As corny as it may be, he and I go back that far.
- 1:26:05Look like if you don't like Trump, that's fine, right?
- 1:26:08But like I, what I see is that what I've been saying is true of
- 1:26:13like the the millennial and younger conservative movement is
- 1:26:17that we have a Common Core that that supersedes that going
- 1:26:22forward. Like, I can certainly picture
- 1:26:25working together with him in the future of the Conservative
- 1:26:28Party, regardless of whether he was going to vote for Trump or
- 1:26:32not. Well, what, Well, what do you
- 1:26:34think I've been doing behind the scenes, like, you know?
- 1:26:39Right. I just wanted to point that out
- 1:26:41because it's a very hopeful thing.
- 1:26:42It's a good. Thing.
- 1:26:45I mean, listen, I I wanna work with Luke to run Shmuley's
- 1:26:49future presidential campaign. But just just to be to be clear.
- 1:26:55That would be a third one at this point.
- 1:26:57Something that I was able to to bring up, specifically the Matt
- 1:27:04Walsh kind of fear of conservatives are now just
- 1:27:09against freedom of speech. Because.
- 1:27:15Because Satanists can have freedom of.
- 1:27:18Speech. Yeah, well, the thing.
- 1:27:20Too is they're going up against. I've mentioned this before, Lucy
- 1:27:24and Greaves and the and the Temple of Satan specifically,
- 1:27:27and this is their whole grift, go behead their statue.
- 1:27:31They would want nothing more than that.
- 1:27:35Well. Live for because they'll.
- 1:27:37Soon the Matt, the Matt What? The Matt What?
- 1:27:42The Matt Walsh Conservatives in the Social Justice Wars.
- 1:27:45On the Left. They're almost like 2 sizes of
- 1:27:49the same corner. Right each other.
- 1:27:50Yeah, you you, you always hear the term like, you go too far
- 1:27:54left, you go far right and then you go like right, like they're
- 1:27:59both. Yeah, right.
- 1:28:01Like at some point like the two extremes actually meet up.
- 1:28:05And like, the other thing I think too, is like, when I saw
- 1:28:09like, everyone's been praising that guy who, like, beheaded
- 1:28:12that Satan statue and I actually got Flack because I was like,
- 1:28:15no, this is stupid. Like why are like, yeah, it
- 1:28:21might be a satanic and I don't agree with it, but like, I'm
- 1:28:25glad. I'm glad that we agree, Sam.
- 1:28:31My point I I, I I do disagree though about the horseshoe
- 1:28:37theory thing to some degree. Like I I I don't think it's as
- 1:28:42easily chalked up to like if you go too far one way you end up in
- 1:28:47the other way. They're going to agree somewhat
- 1:28:50on tactics perhaps. But I I.
- 1:28:52Don't think what it is. I I don't.
- 1:28:54Yeah. I don't think that Matt Walsh.
- 1:28:57Extremists use the same tactics and often rhetoric, regardless
- 1:29:00of what. Their political.
- 1:29:02Well. I have been acute.
- 1:29:04Listen, I was told repetitively by people online, you're like
- 1:29:10Matt Walsh or whatever. I never listened to him until
- 1:29:13recently. I've I've never listened to him
- 1:29:17either, really. And I just just to say I am not
- 1:29:21like Matt Walsh. Matt Walsh in terms of tactics
- 1:29:25is what somebody might think my position is in terms of
- 1:29:29strategy, if you like, want to be extremely uncharitable and
- 1:29:34not hear me out at all. Or I think Matt Walsh is what
- 1:29:38you might do as a bit. Yeah.
- 1:29:42Like a joke. Like, he's a parody of that kind
- 1:29:47of person that we've been because we've been going after
- 1:29:49extremists of all varieties in that regard for years.
- 1:29:52Like, stop being a fucking Spurg.
- 1:29:53I don't care what your politics are.
- 1:29:55You go so. Far and you live in your little
- 1:29:57autistic fantasy land where your your ideas are so superior and
- 1:30:02you don't need to cooperate with anybody else or be a part of
- 1:30:05anything because you're the hyper atomized individual that
- 1:30:08also needs to be in charge of everybody's day-to-day activity
- 1:30:10and when they go to the bathroom.
- 1:30:12Well, Max Good is good and bad is bad, and so that's his
- 1:30:16argument, you know? You're right.
- 1:30:18Well, you're right though, Shmuley.
- 1:30:22If I may, I think the reason why people would kind of compare you
- 1:30:28and Matt Walsh and this is kind of the this is kind of the only
- 1:30:31similarity I I see is literally like your mannerisms and the way
- 1:30:38you guys speak are a little bit similar, but that other than
- 1:30:43that, like, yeah, you guys. And like and also, you're both
- 1:30:48snazzy dressers. Yeah, well Matt, Well, like, but
- 1:30:53like Matt Walsh. Like doesn't understand your
- 1:30:57sense of humor at all. Now to be fair, a lot of people
- 1:31:01don't. But like Matt Walsh, I feel like
- 1:31:04wouldn't. Even Matt Walsh wouldn't
- 1:31:06understand my sense of humor either.
- 1:31:09Well, it's just I, I I am allergic to being pwned.
- 1:31:14And exactly the kind of thing that the Matt Walsh's are doing
- 1:31:19because they're being driven by their moral institutions is
- 1:31:22being pwned by the most cringiest Satanists in the
- 1:31:27world. Literally.
- 1:31:29Yeah. The cringiest people you can
- 1:31:32think of when you talk. The people he's at war with, OK,
- 1:31:36just for fucking clarity's sake. Lucy and Greaves is a soy boy,
- 1:31:41vegetarian, pro tranny, all that stuff, pro abortion, lefty who
- 1:31:46worship Satan, ironically to piss off Christians, and he goes
- 1:31:51to places that have Christian displays in the public space,
- 1:31:55OK? And he sues so that they have to
- 1:31:58put his satanic display right next to them.
- 1:32:02To to make Christian's mad so that you might attack his
- 1:32:07display and he can sue you personally because it's
- 1:32:11literally just trolling. Well that's my well that's my
- 1:32:15problem with that. Honestly.
- 1:32:17That's my problem with Shia Rich Red Shack or whatever her name
- 1:32:22is libs of TikTok. My biggest problem with libs of
- 1:32:25TikTok, and I hate when consumers do this, is or anyone
- 1:32:31does this Like what is TikTok? I don't think people understand.
- 1:32:35Her whole thing is she literally goes out onto TikTok to try and
- 1:32:41find like the most fringe person and then advertise that as the
- 1:32:48entirety of a group. Like, yeah, it's.
- 1:32:52Incredibly effective. Well.
- 1:32:55Thinking worked really well. I mean, I mean it, it does, it
- 1:32:59does work well, but like, OK, well, like, let me give you an
- 1:33:05example though. Like what I'm talking about like
- 1:33:08lady, like I really don't agree with like trans, you know,
- 1:33:14genders and like morally. But I would, I would rather work
- 1:33:20with like a transgender who agrees with me on 90, you know,
- 1:33:278% of the same policies. I would rather work with that
- 1:33:31person than someone who I'm going to be honest with you
- 1:33:34saying I'm. Not sure that there's a
- 1:33:38transgender that I would agree with 98% of policies on.
- 1:33:42I don't think that exists. I I'm, I'm just saying.
- 1:33:46I'm just saying. I'm just saying.
- 1:33:48I mentioned straight Pride. I did March.
- 1:33:50There was a tranny marching with us, but I think I I think we
- 1:33:54could be like a 60%, right? But I don't think that I could
- 1:33:58ever get to, yeah, me personally to that level of agreement with
- 1:34:02them. No.
- 1:34:03And the the. The hypothetical, Yeah, go
- 1:34:05ahead, complete it. Sorry.
- 1:34:07Well, well, that, well, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:34:08Like, yeah, I agree with you, Max.
- 1:34:09Well, I think it's. I think it's.
- 1:34:11Built in that there's some things we're just gonna disagree
- 1:34:13on. Right.
- 1:34:14Yeah, that. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:34:15Like, I'm just saying like, hypothetically, like I would
- 1:34:19rather work with someone who yeah, I disagree with them some
- 1:34:22shit rather than like, throw the baby out with the bathwater.
- 1:34:25Like the matte washes of the. Can't even be fine libertarians
- 1:34:29for years. It's like you want to get rid of
- 1:34:31100% of the government. I want to get rid of like 80.
- 1:34:35Can we just talk about that 80% first?
- 1:34:37And they're like no. Yeah, I I.
- 1:34:40We have to pretend that 80's already gone and argue about
- 1:34:43that I. See, work with is just kind of
- 1:34:46an interesting term. Like I'll work with anybody if
- 1:34:51it means that I can achieve the thing that we do.
- 1:34:53And ideally if we find common ground, then we can work
- 1:34:57together to achieve that common ground.
- 1:34:59So, like, yeah, I mean of course in the hypothetical I'll work
- 1:35:03with whoever to achieve whatever ends needs to be achieved, but.
- 1:35:10But what I'm saying is, is someone like Matt Walsh, but
- 1:35:13they're not going to do that because, no, you have to be
- 1:35:15absolutely puritanical to this. Purity spiraling.
- 1:35:20Purity. Spiraling is equivalent to being
- 1:35:23a loser. Purity, spiraling, purity
- 1:35:26spiling. And I actually brought this up
- 1:35:27today on Twitter. Purity spiling is what got us
- 1:35:30Mitt Romney in 2012. We had, we had Herman Cain, who
- 1:35:36I guarantee you. Would.
- 1:35:38Would have beaten Obama in the 2012 election.
- 1:35:41But no, we had, I think. He would have done better than
- 1:35:43Mitt. Like, nobody can disagree.
- 1:35:45He would have done better than Mitt Romney, for sure.
- 1:35:48Whether you think he won or not, it'd have been close.
- 1:35:51Well. And well, you know what?
- 1:35:53You know what they You know what the GOP canned him for, right?
- 1:35:57They canned him for admitting to an affair that he had had for
- 1:36:01like that he had had 30 years prior and that that was it.
- 1:36:07And that's what I'm saying. That's what drives me insane
- 1:36:09about the Republican Party is they could.
- 1:36:11I was glad they kind of made an exception with Trump, because,
- 1:36:14yes, I personally don't like the fact that Trump has been
- 1:36:18divorced multiple times. I'm uncomfortable with, like, I
- 1:36:22don't want because that means he's mismanaging one thing.
- 1:36:26But then I look at everything else about him and I'm like,
- 1:36:28that's OK. But I understand that other
- 1:36:31people might be put off by that, right?
- 1:36:34But it seems like they we're able to not purity spiral and we
- 1:36:38got them elected in the first place.
- 1:36:40Yeah, it's it's like it's have they have these people ever
- 1:36:43read? Divorced president, by the way.
- 1:36:46Have, have have these people never read Olinsky.
- 1:36:51No. You're getting owned hold.
- 1:36:55Your enemy literally wishes to hold you by your own standards
- 1:37:00in order to gain advantage over you, and you're doing it to
- 1:37:04yourself. Oh, that's.
- 1:37:08Oh, you believe in freedom of religion, huh?
- 1:37:11Well, what if I put a Satan statue right next to your Jesus
- 1:37:15statue? They all get to be here
- 1:37:16together. Ha ha.
- 1:37:18You getting mad about that? Makes them Ray.
- 1:37:21Proves their point. Yep.
- 1:37:23You got pwned, you got. Completely.
- 1:37:26Fucking eaten alive by the cringiest Reddit satanists in
- 1:37:30the world. And to and to answer your
- 1:37:33question, Shmuley, I think you were, I think you were kind of
- 1:37:35asking this rhetorically. Rhetorically, maybe, But no, a
- 1:37:39lot of conservatives actually haven't read Rules.
- 1:37:42Rules for Radicals, because for whatever reason, they're too
- 1:37:47busy. Or they don't want to?
- 1:37:48Conservatives don't read a lot of things, and it's kind of
- 1:37:51important, I think, to see where the other side comes from.
- 1:37:57Another one it might be worth your while to read.
- 1:38:00You know, Marx's pamphlet that you can read in fucking half an
- 1:38:04hour? That is the basis of the entire
- 1:38:08enemy and everything they stand for.
- 1:38:11It's a pamphlet, bro. It's not even a book.
- 1:38:15The Communist Manifesto does not take you long to read at all,
- 1:38:18and it will teach you a lot about how they think and
- 1:38:21operate. And people wonder why I'm able
- 1:38:23to kind of predict certain things.
- 1:38:25It's not because I have some fucking God damn Nostradamus
- 1:38:28power. They act according to the stuff
- 1:38:31that they've written. They act according to the Rules
- 1:38:33for Radicals, they act according to Graham, she They act
- 1:38:35according to fucking Marx and Engels.
- 1:38:38It's all very obvious what they're doing.
- 1:38:41The Frankfurt School like they've told you what they're
- 1:38:43going to do. It's all out there in the
- 1:38:45public, and the only goddamn conspiracy theory you're not
- 1:38:48allowed to talk about is the Communists that have taken over
- 1:38:51everything. Yep.
- 1:38:53Well, and if? You read, if you read Leftist
- 1:38:55theory, another fun thing about it.
- 1:38:57I promise you, no one has written as much scathing things
- 1:39:02in pure contempt for liberals than these radicals.
- 1:39:06True. Yeah, that liberals get the
- 1:39:09bullet as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
- 1:39:13What they? Believe.
- 1:39:15Same not. 1st but two. Well, I mean and like, I think
- 1:39:21we even read like I haven't read the whole Quran grand, but like
- 1:39:24I actually read some of the like more radical, you know, passages
- 1:39:29of the Quran. And the and The funny thing is
- 1:39:33is like all the like all the feminists who are like Pro
- 1:39:36Palestine or whatnot, they're the first ones to get, you know,
- 1:39:41their heads chopped off. I.
- 1:39:43Suggest you actually read it. Because say what you just said
- 1:39:46is kind of like, imagine if I said to you, Sam, I have an
- 1:39:52opinion on Christianity. I've only read the passages that
- 1:39:55are the more radical ones from the Bible.
- 1:39:59Isn't that kind of dismissive? I mean, aren't you missing
- 1:40:04context? I don't know.
- 1:40:06I. I feel like you're better than
- 1:40:07that, man. No, I mean, you're you're right.
- 1:40:10What What I What I'm saying, though, is like most most
- 1:40:13conservatives won't even. They won't even read that right.
- 1:40:16You're. Correct.
- 1:40:16Won't even read that. And that's why I'll give you
- 1:40:18shit over it, 'cause I know by giving you shit over it, you'll
- 1:40:21be like, you know what He I should probably read it.
- 1:40:24Yeah, yeah. I mean, well, yeah, I mean no,
- 1:40:27even my. Even.
- 1:40:29Oh, go ahead. Sorry, Sir.
- 1:40:30My my purpose in my purpose in doing that though was like, OK,
- 1:40:34I just, I want to read like the craziest.
- 1:40:40I want to read the craziest, you know, most whacked out parts.
- 1:40:44And I granted there. I've read that from the Bible
- 1:40:47too. If you read the craziest, most
- 1:40:50whacked out parts of War and Peace, it's pretty fucked up.
- 1:40:54Yeah. I all I'm saying is all I'm
- 1:40:59saying is just the way you said it.
- 1:41:00It did strike me as funny, 'cause if I had flipped it
- 1:41:02around and I say, you know, I I heard, I listened to all the
- 1:41:07most radical things Rush Limbaugh ever said.
- 1:41:10So I kind of know about him. Yeah, fair.
- 1:41:14Yeah. Fairpoint.
- 1:41:16No, I mean the the the other funny thing is though is like
- 1:41:20there are there are a lot more similarities between
- 1:41:23Christianity, Judaism and Islam than people like from from just
- 1:41:30in in general. I kind of feel like when they
- 1:41:34say Judeo-christian, the fact that they exclude Islamo from
- 1:41:38that can can can sometimes be annoying because it's a strain
- 1:41:42that that strain of thinking if you're going to include
- 1:41:45Christians, you should include Muslims because it's the same
- 1:41:49monotheistic strain and they believe.
- 1:41:51In Yeah, I I've, I've talked to Muslims who I get along with
- 1:41:56just fine. And I'm like, I like, there are
- 1:41:58a lot of similarities. And then granted, this was when
- 1:42:00I was a lot younger, but there, but there were like a lot more
- 1:42:03similarities that like my mind was blown.
- 1:42:09Being raised, I tend to like have the most like kinship or or
- 1:42:16understanding with people from very like strict religions with
- 1:42:22very like kind of fiery beliefs. And that and that goes across
- 1:42:25the board like there's like specific subsets of Buddhists
- 1:42:30and Shintoists who are, you know, more fire and brimstone
- 1:42:33that I tend to get along with. And it's interesting it's you're
- 1:42:38either got that more traditional Hellfire and brimstone mindset
- 1:42:41or you have the more hippie, dippie fairy one and it seems
- 1:42:43like nobody really has the two in terms of a religion.
- 1:42:47Every every religion either focuses one or the other.
- 1:42:50I've. Been I've been told that people
- 1:42:54think that I'm very religious. In particular they they say I'm
- 1:42:58Catholic or I'm Muslim or whatever.
- 1:43:01And I I find. That none of them know you're an
- 1:43:03Orthodox Jew, right? Hey, don't dox me, bro.
- 1:43:11But no, it's. It's, it's.
- 1:43:12Kind of astonishing. Orthodox, by the way.
- 1:43:15Because, because my point is essentially that I feel that
- 1:43:18there is folk wisdom in this and I can kind of.
- 1:43:22I view it almost as evolutionarily like I know that
- 1:43:24if I pick a religion that's like Judaism, Christianity, Islam,
- 1:43:30the people have lived holding those beliefs sincerely and
- 1:43:34successfully survived through all these trials and
- 1:43:38tribulations that occur over not.
- 1:43:40Only survived. Here's the interesting thing
- 1:43:42about that, because survival will bring the genetics forth,
- 1:43:45right? But what else they did is they
- 1:43:47survived and brought their mimetics forth.
- 1:43:50Yes. Which they're the first ones to
- 1:43:53have done that by holding on to that holy book and teaching it
- 1:43:56to their kids and spreading it that way.
- 1:43:58They are the first civilization to bring forth not just their
- 1:44:02genetics, but their mimetics, which is explains why it went
- 1:44:07through the world in such a different way than every other
- 1:44:09religion. And so my point is usually
- 1:44:12something to the effect of you've just decided that all of
- 1:44:17these things are dumb and that all of this sort of built up
- 1:44:22generational wisdom is just a bullshit.
- 1:44:26And instead you're going to do, you're going to do whatever you
- 1:44:29feel brings you pleasure or whatever, and you're going to
- 1:44:34use your logic to justify it. And then, yeah, you see these
- 1:44:38people harming society, destroying norms, and then we
- 1:44:43have all of these horrible repercussions.
- 1:44:45It's like, yeah. And interestingly,
- 1:44:47interestingly, every one of these religions they're mocking
- 1:44:51has some story or some fable about exactly that.
- 1:44:58Let's let's come up with a cool example.
- 1:45:00Like, should I let other dudes fuck my wife?
- 1:45:04What does Judaism say about that?
- 1:45:05Oh, you shouldn't. What does Islam say about that?
- 1:45:09Oh, you shouldn't. What does Christianity say about
- 1:45:11Oh, you shouldn't. I'm pretty sure the Hindus are
- 1:45:14not about that either, right? It's like.
- 1:45:17That that's what I'm saying. But what is what?
- 1:45:22We have a lot more in common than but.
- 1:45:24What do these people do when they just throw out all of the
- 1:45:28weight all of these religions is, they think to themselves.
- 1:45:31I'd like to get some strange maybe if we have an open
- 1:45:34relationship and then they come up with some logic to justify
- 1:45:40it. But a lot of the things that
- 1:45:42these religions kind of inoculated the population
- 1:45:46against was behavior that when you externalize it, right when
- 1:45:51when everyone tries to engage in it, it causes repercussions to
- 1:45:55society. Yeah.
- 1:45:58And provably and repeatedly, yes, almost like an experiment,
- 1:46:03almost like scientific method. But you know what do I know?
- 1:46:07Yeah, and so. So this is my argument behind
- 1:46:09why we should take seriously the edicts that are in religion.
- 1:46:16That is not to say that it is always written in stone and that
- 1:46:19you can never adapt because there is a thing called
- 1:46:23technological progress and that often will disrupt things, and
- 1:46:29your religion needs a way to come to terms with that.
- 1:46:33That's why I particularly like Judaism, because of the Talmud,
- 1:46:38right? The rabbinical tradition would
- 1:46:41say, well, what do we do to adapt to that?
- 1:46:43And also Catholicism, because you have this huge.
- 1:46:46Body of work. I love that aspect.
- 1:46:51And and for those that aren't very religious in one of those
- 1:46:55branches I I know a lot of people talk about the Talmud now
- 1:46:59they don't know what it is. The Catechism and the Talmud are
- 1:47:03are similar tradition, which is the church elders or the rabbis,
- 1:47:08right, the head. You know, rabbis of the whole
- 1:47:10deal, but you know the highest, most respected in the land and
- 1:47:13the and the top bishops. Or whatever.
- 1:47:16Will sit down and they'll argue and in most if you read the
- 1:47:20Catechism or the Talmud. It's mostly.
- 1:47:21Arguments from different people at different times about, hey, I
- 1:47:26think that we should apply this, you know, law from the Old
- 1:47:30Testament this way because of this thing that's going on now.
- 1:47:34And here's my case for it intellectually as well as here
- 1:47:38is scriptural backing for it. They do the same thing with the
- 1:47:40Talmud, except it's the Torah. And so this is the elders of the
- 1:47:44religious community, sort of communally, overtime, coming up
- 1:47:49with a book of arguments both for and against things as the
- 1:47:54world evolves around them. It's not Canon like the Bible,
- 1:47:59but it's something that if you're a thinking person, if
- 1:48:01you're a philosophical man, if you're a learned man, and
- 1:48:03especially if you were getting into any type of priesthood,
- 1:48:06rabbi, whatever, you would want to know this inside and out.
- 1:48:10Because that's how they decide, you know, kind of the dogma of
- 1:48:14the the, you know, operational body of the church.
- 1:48:18And you could see why I like. Everybody.
- 1:48:21You can see why I like that. Being a person who, you know
- 1:48:24loves the common law, Yeah. It's basically church common
- 1:48:30law, yes. Yeah, yeah, and and these are
- 1:48:32the kinds of like, intergenerational fucking wisdom
- 1:48:37machines that just benefit your group so exponentially it's
- 1:48:42worth having around. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:48:48And it's it's interesting, even if you don't believe in any of
- 1:48:51it, because what you come across in in the Catechism and the
- 1:48:53Talmud is a lot of arguments that you might not have thought
- 1:48:58about. It's just food for thought.
- 1:48:59And sometimes they include stuff that you're not intended to take
- 1:49:03seriously at all as well. Just making the case
- 1:49:06hypothetically, because you're talking about the people who
- 1:49:09could write were the priestly class, right?
- 1:49:13They're the biggest autistic nerds in the world at the time.
- 1:49:17So what did they do? They argue about shit.
- 1:49:20They write hypothetical papers on the morality of whether you
- 1:49:25should fuck your wife or not. You know.
- 1:49:29The point being is that when faced with some new
- 1:49:32technological change, like I don't know the existence of only
- 1:49:35fans, well, what should the? Internet in general.
- 1:49:40Yeah, What should we do in response to this?
- 1:49:44Having 2000 years of people who have written and made arguments?
- 1:49:51You can find similar things or arguments that then can be made
- 1:49:54into new arguments, You know, case, and then you can come
- 1:49:59forth with some sort of decision that's not just based on the
- 1:50:03immediate logic of whatever we come up with on our head.
- 1:50:06And then just wild popular opinion, because the passions of
- 1:50:11the moment will guide you in ways that are not advantageous.
- 1:50:18Yeah, because, you know, I I like to say life is messy,
- 1:50:22right? And it's not always as clean and
- 1:50:26neat as people would like it to be.
- 1:50:28And here you have guys that their whole job was to
- 1:50:32autistically argue about the morality and case law of the the
- 1:50:37application of, you know, the commandments of God.
- 1:50:41Because they're nerds and that's all they have to do.
- 1:50:44It's philosophical. It's interesting.
- 1:50:48I find a lot of prot based, Protestant based people tend to
- 1:50:55like see philosophy and religion is very distant.
- 1:50:59Really. Yeah, it it they seem to like
- 1:51:02think of like philosophy. If you say philosophy to them,
- 1:51:06they're going to think of Socrates and Nishi, right?
- 1:51:11Often times they don't think about Christianity itself as a
- 1:51:15philosophy, or the fact that like, that Catholics Revere
- 1:51:19Saints. It's not the same as like Pratts
- 1:51:22think it is. It's usually like they're
- 1:51:24revered for their for their wisdom.
- 1:51:27So, like, when they think of philosophy, they don't think of
- 1:51:31Augustine. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:51:33Augustine, I, I, I man, I know Aquinas.
- 1:51:38I always, I always end up saying Aquinas with when I mean Marcus
- 1:51:42Aurelius and vice versa. It's very.
- 1:51:44Very no, because they'll think of him.
- 1:51:47If you said theologian he might come to mind.
- 1:51:51But if you say philosopher honestly it seems to me Pratts
- 1:51:55think of like modern or like romantic era or like that kind
- 1:52:00of philosophy or like classical Socrates, Aristotle.
- 1:52:04Well, like and and. Pardon me if I'm I'm wrong, but
- 1:52:08like, what tradition are they? What tradition are they building
- 1:52:13upon? Like do do they Revere the
- 1:52:15Church fathers? Usually when they're.
- 1:52:19Not usually, no. You're not supposed to do that.
- 1:52:21Ancestry is frowned upon. Oh yeah.
- 1:52:25I don't consider it that, but that's what they would say.
- 1:52:27See, that's The thing is I've sat in on a bunch of different
- 1:52:31religions at this point in my life, and one thing I find about
- 1:52:34Protestants is that lack of depth to a lot of what they try
- 1:52:41to teach. Like like if you go to their
- 1:52:43Sunday school, for example, I went to Catholic catechism
- 1:52:49school, OK? And I didn't go to a Catholic
- 1:52:51school. I went to a Catholic program
- 1:52:54that they have essentially three times a week on top of school.
- 1:52:59That's if you don't go to a Catholic school, you have to do
- 1:53:02that. OK.
- 1:53:03And we would study Latin philosophy, the historical
- 1:53:08context of the Bible, what happened after the Holy Roman
- 1:53:11Empire, On and on and on. We weren't just reading the
- 1:53:16Bible then. I go to Protestant Baptist, you
- 1:53:20know, non denominational, whatever.
- 1:53:22I've been to the kids programs of theirs with friends and
- 1:53:26things. That's not what they're doing.
- 1:53:28They're usually reading like a dumbed down in the language and
- 1:53:34prose version of a Bible story that's made for children and
- 1:53:38takes out some of the meaning in the process.
- 1:53:41Sometimes I remember I went to one and we watched Veggie Tales
- 1:53:48and Cumming as a guy that went to like had a Catholic
- 1:53:50education. We were reading and and
- 1:53:52translating Latin verses from the from like the textbook that
- 1:53:58had pictures of the original, a manuscript that they have in the
- 1:54:03the first Bible essentially in the Vatican, which is in Latin.
- 1:54:05And we were translating that that's what we would do or we
- 1:54:08would go to the monastery and do pilgrimages, right.
- 1:54:12And so when I go to the and and it really makes me understand
- 1:54:16Protestants a lot better that I've seen kind of what they do
- 1:54:20where it's like they have class where they say Jesus loves you
- 1:54:24very much and there's actually some value in that because it it
- 1:54:28is very effective on children to in.
- 1:54:32I find that Protestants who grow up that way love Jesus a lot
- 1:54:36more and a lot less, maybe autistic about religion because
- 1:54:41they're presented with less philosophical material early
- 1:54:47early on. Yeah, Like I I I feel like a lot
- 1:54:51of Protestantism kind of it's that way because it helped them
- 1:54:57grow. Mm hmm, you know.
- 1:55:00Really effective at pushing the message that, like the core
- 1:55:04message of Christianity. I'm not going to ever deny that.
- 1:55:07I think, I think ultimately though it's it's kind of failing
- 1:55:12in a lot of ways like it's it's it's vulnerable to just be kind
- 1:55:16of sassooned. Which it is.
- 1:55:19It's being, you know, Co opted by now.
- 1:55:22There's basically LGBT Protestant, right?
- 1:55:27Well, tell me, tell me this, where are the Calvinists?
- 1:55:29Right. Calvinists used to be the
- 1:55:30majority in America and its founding, and they're nowhere to
- 1:55:33be found. Well, the Calvinists now are all
- 1:55:35of, like the woke kind of people, along with a lot of
- 1:55:38these other sects. So I I wouldn't be surprised to
- 1:55:40see kind of the trend going away.
- 1:55:43Oh yeah. Calvinists and progressivism
- 1:55:45have been tied at the hips since the inception of both.
- 1:55:49Yeah. But now there's no Calvinists,
- 1:55:53but there's still progressivism. It's like, yeah, they're the
- 1:55:55same people. Yep.
- 1:55:57They're same descendants, right, Calvinists and the Universalist
- 1:56:00church as well. So I wouldn't be surprised to
- 1:56:02see this kind of kind of thing. And and I think it's
- 1:56:06specifically because of the lack of the lack of this sort of
- 1:56:13intellectual framework that goes back longer than just, you know,
- 1:56:19the 100 years when your church was founded because some guy in
- 1:56:221910 had a different view on dancing.
- 1:56:25Protestant Protestantism as it exists in America and it's like
- 1:56:30many versions and sects really does work on a small scale,
- 1:56:36right. It's very very effective
- 1:56:39organizing a like a rural community of a couple 100
- 1:56:42people. But as soon as it the the, the
- 1:56:46the way Catholicism is effective is organizing it centrally.
- 1:56:50So the The thing is pretty much you go to a Catholic Church, you
- 1:56:54know what to expect everywhere and anywhere.
- 1:56:58Like McDonald's. You know what I mean?
- 1:57:00Like. Well, I will.
- 1:57:03I will posit that I think one advantage that a lot of
- 1:57:06Catholics probably don't think about in the US and why they're
- 1:57:09sort of more fervent in their beliefs here than they are in
- 1:57:15Europe and some of these other countries is because it's
- 1:57:17specifically not the state religion.
- 1:57:20Right. In fact, like there there, there
- 1:57:22were some studies recently from what I've said, looking at
- 1:57:24birth, birth rate and stuff that like countries that are Catholic
- 1:57:29actually are below a lot of the Protestant countries around them
- 1:57:33in terms of birth rate. And you might ask yourself why
- 1:57:37that might be it it it's because, like, if everything is
- 1:57:42Catholic, then you're just kind of like a fish in the water.
- 1:57:48Well then, and there's no. There's no.
- 1:57:50Real. You're kind of Catholic by
- 1:57:53birthright at that point, right? Whereas like in a country like
- 1:57:58America, Catholics are not the default and everyone around them
- 1:58:03is not Catholic and feels that they're Catholic by.
- 1:58:06Yeah, you're only Catholic if you're born into it.
- 1:58:10Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, but but.
- 1:58:13Very few people convert as well, Like very, very few people
- 1:58:16convert to Catholicism. Yeah, but you're different.
- 1:58:19Here is my my point. It's an out group thing, and
- 1:58:23also it's an out group thing that unites.
- 1:58:25And this is historically true many different like outsider
- 1:58:29populations that moved in as immigrants.
- 1:58:32This is true of the Polish, It's true of the Irish.
- 1:58:34It's true of now the the Central and South Americans look not
- 1:58:38going to lie. Being a Catholic guy, you have
- 1:58:40more in common with them in your neighborhood than if you're not.
- 1:58:44Just. As a baseline.
- 1:58:46I mean, it's just a fact of life they have.
- 1:58:49Well. And and this is The thing is,
- 1:58:51the Hispanic people around me don't like the gay stuff very
- 1:58:54much, 'cause they're deeply Catholic.
- 1:58:56Who knew what? What a shock, right?
- 1:58:59Yeah, well, what's what's interesting about Catholicism
- 1:59:03is, at least within the last few years, there really seems to be
- 1:59:08a split from what I've observed, because the Pope brought the the
- 1:59:13Pope. And we've talked at this before,
- 1:59:16at least in private. I I think we've talked about it
- 1:59:19on the show, but I mean. I'll just say that.
- 1:59:24The. Pope not as important as non
- 1:59:26Catholics think to the daily life of A.
- 1:59:28Catholic, right. Well, well, no, you're right.
- 1:59:33And that is something I I've learned.
- 1:59:35But like also it is. It is interesting because now
- 1:59:38there is kind of like a a split between, you know, the.
- 1:59:44American It's American Catholics in Rome, basically.
- 1:59:48That's the big and now. But the Central and South
- 1:59:52American Catholics are starting to side with the American side
- 1:59:56because what they don't like is him pushing the gay stuff.
- 1:59:59Now he says that they're going to bless gay unions.
- 2:00:04Well, that. Is for specifically.
- 2:00:07I mean, you can go to, you can go to the Catechism and you can
- 2:00:12look at the rules that the Church has decided about this a
- 2:00:15very long time ago, in addition to looking at what it says in
- 2:00:18Scripture and it says it's an abomination.
- 2:00:20So how can then you person suddenly decide that you're
- 2:00:24going to override that? The the idea that the Pope is
- 2:00:28God Incarnate is something that Protestants made-up, by the way.
- 2:00:32The the point that's no, no, I no, no, I I I realized that.
- 2:00:38I mean, I guess my only point was, at least from when I was
- 2:00:42growing up, it seemed like the Catholic Church was like a lot
- 2:00:45more unified as a whole. And now there seems to be a lot
- 2:00:50more of A. At least that's a lot.
- 2:00:52Higher trust. Like I said, these small
- 2:00:55Protestant communities work well, high trust, but when they
- 2:00:59pop up, you know, in the next town over and have a different
- 2:01:03version of religion, they end up at odds with each other.
- 2:01:06Whereas if a Catholic Church starts at the next town over,
- 2:01:08you're not going to be at odds with each other.
- 2:01:10And that's effective and was why it spreads so well in Europe.
- 2:01:15And then all these immigrant populations came here that were
- 2:01:18primarily Catholic and as like them being outsiders as
- 2:01:22immigrants. And I'm talking like early.
- 2:01:25I'm talking the, like I said, Polish in the 1800s, Catholic,
- 2:01:29Irish, Italians. Why do you think Italians and
- 2:01:33Irish and Portuguese all all live next to each other up here?
- 2:01:37You think it's an accident? No.
- 2:01:39We all go to the same churches. Yeah, I mean and and that's also
- 2:01:44why I think a lot of like the the ball busting between Irish
- 2:01:47and Italians, that's all it is, is ball busting because I mean
- 2:01:52MO, it's it's just like team sports.
- 2:01:55It's competing populations. It's the same reason like
- 2:01:59there's this old notion of like the racist Irish Boston people
- 2:02:03that hated black people. But what was really going on
- 2:02:05there, think I've said this before on the show too, was they
- 2:02:08were trying to move the Irish population that had lived in
- 2:02:12South Boston for a very long time out so that they could move
- 2:02:16these black people from other big inner cities in just to do
- 2:02:21it just to displace that just because it was too white,
- 2:02:25essentially. Yeah.
- 2:02:28And so the Irish got mad. But also before that you had,
- 2:02:32you have to understand, they're both considered low class,
- 2:02:35right? They're both mostly in manual
- 2:02:37labor and they were competing against each other for jobs and
- 2:02:40like where to live. And so black people and Irish
- 2:02:43people in the Boston area for a while there was a tent, but it
- 2:02:47it it's because they were an ethnic enclave next to another
- 2:02:50ethnic enclave. And trying to get the.
- 2:02:51Same jobs. Well, for a while like the Irish
- 2:02:55were were called like white N words.
- 2:02:57Right. And that's another element I
- 2:02:59wanted to point out is that the racists in Boston of the day
- 2:03:03would say Irish need not apply black people.
- 2:03:07Sure, right. There were stores that would say
- 2:03:10you can, you can bring a dog in, but don't bring in Irish in.
- 2:03:16That was, that was in like, the 1920s too.
- 2:03:19Yeah, yeah. So it wasn't that long ago.
- 2:03:23And yeah, that's why they developed these ethnic enclaves
- 2:03:28and then they have this unified religion in Catholicism.
- 2:03:31That's the same wherever you go. And that's why Catholicism
- 2:03:36gained a hold in a country that was actually founded to
- 2:03:38basically shit all over it. And now it's one of the largest
- 2:03:44populations in the president's a Catholic.
- 2:03:46In theory. In theory, he's a Catholic.
- 2:03:52Yeah, support for abortion alone means he's not.
- 2:03:56But whatever, in theory, he's. Yeah, well, that.
- 2:03:59Well, that's a lot of Democrats you know, too.
- 2:04:03So. And that's the thing about
- 2:04:07Catholicism too, though you can there's all different arguments,
- 2:04:11and people can square the circle however they like.
- 2:04:16You can have a CLIC of. Beliefs and still be a Catholic
- 2:04:20and not feel like you are a contradiction, even though it's
- 2:04:23quite obvious that you are and that's what some people don't
- 2:04:25like about it. But well, as long.
- 2:04:28As it is, because it's. Not a contradiction.
- 2:04:31I want to I want to point this out because it's really
- 2:04:33important. Catholicism is not this big
- 2:04:34contradiction because we accept from the very beginning.
- 2:04:38The philosophy of it is is that we are fallen, wicked and
- 2:04:41sinful. Yeah.
- 2:04:43And everything you do, almost everything you do, is the sin.
- 2:04:46If you read the Old Testament. And that's why Catholics believe
- 2:04:49that way, and that's why Catholics feel guilty about
- 2:04:52shit. And you, So you're already,
- 2:04:56you're already a sin. It's not the oh, I got to commit
- 2:04:58that you're already a fucking Sinner.
- 2:05:00You're already wicked. You're already.
- 2:05:01Yeah. Vile and of this earth, and
- 2:05:05despicable because of that. And the only way for you to
- 2:05:08achieve any semblance of redemption is to listen to what
- 2:05:11your God Creator told you through his one begotten son,
- 2:05:15who he sacrificed to save you from yourself.
- 2:05:21It's not a complicated religion at all.
- 2:05:23Follow the. Rules to try and not sin and it
- 2:05:27you still have to do confess you you can think you're not a
- 2:05:32Sinner. You still?
- 2:05:32Are. That's Catholicism.
- 2:05:35I find that Protestants get to be holy rollers because they
- 2:05:38think you can achieve a point of sinlessness in this world.
- 2:05:41That's not what the Bible says. No, we're we're all look, we're
- 2:05:48all faults. We're all.
- 2:05:49Faults only. Christ achieved that state.
- 2:05:53Yeah. He is the only sinless man that
- 2:05:57is Catholic. And this is the thing.
- 2:06:00That's because they taught us. Like I said, philosophy.
- 2:06:03The reason behind why you believe this.
- 2:06:06So when I left the Catholic Church, it was simply because I
- 2:06:09overthought things, OK? But it wasn't because I didn't
- 2:06:12understand their philosophy. They made it very
- 2:06:15understandable, over what, 13 years?
- 2:06:19Do you think you would? Do you think you would go back
- 2:06:23now as like an older gentleman or?
- 2:06:28Oh, I love church. What do you talk about?
- 2:06:31Church is fine. Yeah.
- 2:06:32No, there's no problem. Well, I mean.
- 2:06:35I mean like as a practicing. Yeah, what's wrong with that?
- 2:06:43OK. No, nothing I.
- 2:06:45And the interesting thing about Catholicism too, and this is
- 2:06:49part of the like the catechisms, like the ongoing debate, you
- 2:06:52cannot believe in Catholicism and still be a practicing
- 2:06:56Catholic too. If you do all the things and you
- 2:07:00understand what it means and you just don't believe, you still
- 2:07:04might get to go to heaven or at least purgatory.
- 2:07:07That's the other thing is Catholics have purgatory and and
- 2:07:12that solves a lot of pride. It sounds like a cop out, but it
- 2:07:14solves a lot of problems. No, no.
- 2:07:16Like unbaptized babies. And in in Protestant, the answer
- 2:07:20is they go to hell. Yeah.
- 2:07:25Right. And the Catholic answer is,
- 2:07:26well, maybe not quite that severe on the babies, you know.
- 2:07:31Yeah. There's still a lot of Hellfire
- 2:07:35and rimstone and Catholicism, right?
- 2:07:36But they're like the babies. They'll be all right.
- 2:07:40Also, the people who never heard the word of Christ.
- 2:07:42That's that's another important one.
- 2:07:44Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 2:07:45That that. Belief is that you, if you've
- 2:07:47never been given the chance to understand Christ, that you can
- 2:07:51still go to heaven if you're a good person.
- 2:07:55Yeah. Because that's not.
- 2:07:58Fair. And that's something that's
- 2:08:01something that like, I'm not Catholic, but I always subscribe
- 2:08:04to, like, you know, ever since I was a kid.
- 2:08:09So I. Mean.
- 2:08:10It's hard. It's it's a hard education for a
- 2:08:13kid, too. I was going to catechism when my
- 2:08:17friends were going out to the arcade on a Wednesday or Friday
- 2:08:21or whatever. Like that's where I was when
- 2:08:23Monday. Wednesday.
- 2:08:24Friday. For many years.
- 2:08:25For three hours, people say I had, oh, I had Sunday school.
- 2:08:31Like when I say I have a Catholic education, but I didn't
- 2:08:33go to Catholic school. People would compare that to
- 2:08:36Sunday school. No, no, you went an hour on
- 2:08:38Sunday before church. It's not the same thing I went.
- 2:08:42I went for 9 hours a week for like 13 years for like.
- 2:08:46Eight months? A year.
- 2:08:47It was fucking. Nuts man.
- 2:08:51And I had to do like, I'm at the Pope though.
- 2:08:54John Paul the 2nd, when I was a kid he came here like one time.
- 2:09:01There is, there is an actual picture of me shaking hands with
- 2:09:05the Pope. If somebody ever wanted to find
- 2:09:07it, you probably won't find it. And you probably won't know
- 2:09:09which one's me anyway, 'cause I don't look the same for the
- 2:09:13most. Actually, I do you you'd see me
- 2:09:15right away. You'd be like that's Max.
- 2:09:17Look at that big fucking Irish head.
- 2:09:22Just a little little bit. Max shaking hands with the Pope.
- 2:09:25That happened. Yeah.
- 2:09:28And I didn't crap my pants. When I'm at the Pope.
- 2:09:34My wife had headphones on. I want her to hear that.
- 2:09:37When I met the Pope and shook his hand, I didn't.
- 2:09:40Shit my pants. No, you did not.
- 2:09:43That's right. And I was like a kid too, so
- 2:09:45it's an extra big bonus. What?
- 2:09:47What? What?
- 2:09:48What's? What's the significance of that
- 2:09:50is supposed to be? Is there someone famous who?
- 2:09:55The President. The President shit his pants
- 2:09:57when he met the Pope. Oh, yeah.
- 2:10:05Oh yeah. That.
- 2:10:06That. Yeah.
- 2:10:07Oh yeah. That it's just Biden.
- 2:10:08So we forget the silly thing. No, he shit his pants when he
- 2:10:13shook hands with the Pope. I shook hands with the good Pope
- 2:10:18John Paul the 2nd. And if you don't fucking, If you
- 2:10:21don't like that, fight me, bro. He was a good Pope.
- 2:10:24Well, yeah. Yeah, Yeah, he was.
- 2:10:25Yeah, he was. He ended.
- 2:10:28Communism. Like he was, He was instrumental
- 2:10:31into the fall of the Soviet. He didn't end communism.
- 2:10:33OK, that's a bit exaggerated, but he was instrumental to the
- 2:10:36fall of the Soviet. Yeah, I I I mean, he effectively
- 2:10:40did. He didn't end communism.
- 2:10:42He effectively ended Communism's reign at the time.
- 2:10:48And that happens when you're born behind the Iron Curtain and
- 2:10:51you have some perspective in life, eh?
- 2:10:52Well, yeah, It's also, it's also ironic, but you know, now the
- 2:10:58Pope, from what my, from what my Catholic friends tell me, is
- 2:11:03essentially a car. He is a communist he.
- 2:11:06Advocated communism openly. Yeah.
- 2:11:11Yeah. So I mean, it's kind of.
- 2:11:13I'll say this, Sam, the sentiment I get on the ground
- 2:11:16from Catholics and and like I said, we have a monastery here.
- 2:11:20I've been around people who come from all over to come through
- 2:11:24the monastery. So Catholics, just Catholics,
- 2:11:27OK? That's the only reason they're
- 2:11:29there is they're Catholic. That's what unites them, OK?
- 2:11:32Yeah. They.
- 2:11:34All. Basically have the opinion that
- 2:11:37that that if there's not going to be and and also I listen to
- 2:11:41the radio show from the Archbishop of Boston.
- 2:11:43I forget I think Shanahan, I listen to his radio show quite
- 2:11:47often. So you get a pulse of how
- 2:11:49Catholics are feeling OK if the next if the next Pope isn't
- 2:11:54American. And of the American Catholic
- 2:11:57mindset, the American Catholics are probably going to like
- 2:12:02schism off from the Church. That's, that's what I've heard.
- 2:12:05That's what I've heard too. Yeah.
- 2:12:07I mean, I it's. Not represent and that, by the
- 2:12:09way, this includes input from his the Hispanic population.
- 2:12:15Oh yeah, yeah. It's not just white Irish
- 2:12:18Catholics, because in fact we're kind of a minority among
- 2:12:21Catholics now in this area. Especially.
- 2:12:24It's heavily Portuguese, Puerto Rican, Guatemalan, which is
- 2:12:31still Catholic. On and on.
- 2:12:34This is. The body of the church here now,
- 2:12:37and the body of the church here doesn't like the gay shit.
- 2:12:43And that's exactly what it boils down to, Sam it.
- 2:12:47And he just said he's going to bless gay marriages.
- 2:12:49I know for a fact that there are bishops, archbishops and priests
- 2:12:54all over Massachusetts now who are willing to openly defy the
- 2:12:58Pope on this. Good.
- 2:13:01Yeah, they're not going to bless same sex marriages there.
- 2:13:04Are some. There were some that will do it,
- 2:13:06but I know for a fact that there are people all the way up to
- 2:13:09Archbishop who are just going to say no.
- 2:13:12Look, I'm. Well then what's he going to do?
- 2:13:14Is he going to excommunicate half the fucking body of the
- 2:13:17church? He might.
- 2:13:19Then they're going to have their own See, that's why they say
- 2:13:22they might leave the church, because they might have to by
- 2:13:25necessity. Also the the Latin masses and
- 2:13:28the foreign language masses. I know we've talked about this
- 2:13:30before, but that's really fucking important to people.
- 2:13:33Yeah. Look, no.
- 2:13:34And and I I just want you to understand, I'm not bashing
- 2:13:37Catholicism as a whole. I'm.
- 2:13:40I'm simply making an observation that within my lifetime, I've
- 2:13:44seen the church go from like super unified to now.
- 2:13:49And then think about it from within the church, right?
- 2:13:52You can see that as obvious as a fucking light on your face
- 2:13:56outside the church, right? Well, inside the church it feels
- 2:14:00like it's it's those of us who have kind of old school
- 2:14:03traditional trad Cath, I guess you could say beliefs.
- 2:14:06That's why you see a lot of radical trad caths.
- 2:14:09Because. They feel under attack from all
- 2:14:11sides, including within within the church.
- 2:14:15The church itself is attacking its most traditional wing.
- 2:14:20What do they do at that point? It's it's.
- 2:14:24I see why a lot of them spurred out.
- 2:14:25And then you have like, obvious, like honey traps, like Fuentes
- 2:14:29pretending to be. That's a whole different.
- 2:14:31Yeah. Although, although to be fair,
- 2:14:34like, I do know some Catholics who have, like, messed me and
- 2:14:38that they've they've said like, hey, thanks for pointing out
- 2:14:42Fuentes's stupidity because he's an idiot and he doesn't speak
- 2:14:47for, you know, us. He doesn't.
- 2:14:50Really speak for anybody. No in.
- 2:14:53Terms of the Catholic population of this country.
- 2:14:56The Catholic population of this country would mostly make him
- 2:15:00sick because they're diverse or whatever.
- 2:15:03Well, they're very. Diverse.
- 2:15:05That's how it is, man. Well, and because they like.
- 2:15:07And because they like women, too, so they're they're.
- 2:15:11Yeah, Catholics actually do enjoy fucking little known fact.
- 2:15:15That's why they have so many kids.
- 2:15:17Yeah. On average.
- 2:15:20Also, you know condoms aren't allowed.
- 2:15:22So what are you going to do? You know every sperm is sacred.
- 2:15:25As the old Monty Python bit goes, that's true.
- 2:15:29Yeah. If a if a every sperm is sacred.
- 2:15:34If a sperm is wasted, God gets quite irate.
- 2:15:38Yeah, that's a go. Go look that up.
- 2:15:40Every sperm is sacred. It's a old bit for Monty Python.
- 2:15:44If you haven't seen it, it's fucking hilarious.
- 2:15:46And it's kind of true. That's the Catholic mindset.
- 2:15:50If you're coming, you might make a baby, or at least be trying
- 2:15:53to. You got Yeah.
- 2:15:56This is why I advocate no fat bro.
- 2:15:59If you're if you're coming and you're not trying to make a
- 2:16:01baby, God gets mad at you. I'm telling you, I'm a minister.
- 2:16:06You can trust me. Ordained 13 years.
- 2:16:10Yeah, it's yes. So we've.
- 2:16:15Heard you need to be coming in. Your loving wife, not your hand,
- 2:16:21you heathen. Come on now, girlfriend is
- 2:16:28acceptable. Oh.
- 2:16:29I said, Come on now. I thought you guys would laugh.
- 2:16:37Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:16:38God. God makes it very clear if you
- 2:16:41read scripture that if you if you if, if one single bit drop
- 2:16:45of your bodily fluid should hit the ground.
- 2:16:49Killed the guy. Yeah, he'll.
- 2:16:51He killed the guy for. That, yeah.
- 2:16:53Yeah, he was supposed to fuck this other guy's, his brother's
- 2:16:56wife. Long story short, all right?
- 2:16:59And more. And he pulled out.
- 2:17:01And so God killed him. Yeah, on the spot.
- 2:17:03More Morpheus says. Pulling out?
- 2:17:09Think about that gentleman pulling out God instantly kills
- 2:17:12you for. Well.
- 2:17:20Get your wife. Or shoot that.
- 2:17:23Or shoot. Then a lot of my friends ought
- 2:17:24to be dead. So.
- 2:17:26See. Me too.
- 2:17:28Probably at some point in my life.
- 2:17:29I don't know. But what if?
- 2:17:32Yeah, you're supposed to create children in the loving matrimony
- 2:17:38of marriage. Don't you know that?
- 2:17:39You're not supposed to come in a fucking sock, you fucking
- 2:17:43weirdo. Now is it better to come in a
- 2:17:45whore or on the floor? A whore?
- 2:17:49Yeah. Objectively, objectively, it's
- 2:17:51better to come in a whore with the potential that you knock her
- 2:17:54up. That's what the Bible says.
- 2:17:56That's that's what Morpheus. That's what Morpheus just said.
- 2:18:00Yeah, but he didn't rhyme because he's not as cool as I
- 2:18:03am. But well, Morpheus is pretty
- 2:18:05cool though. He's a based cripple man.
- 2:18:08Like look bro. Popping off, Can we go back and
- 2:18:11take a look at some chat? You know, these people didn't
- 2:18:13pay us and we should read their chat anyway.
- 2:18:15'Cause, he said, he said, And I quote Morpheus better in the
- 2:18:19belly of a whore than on the ground, which doesn't fucking
- 2:18:22rhyme. So what I said was, is it better
- 2:18:25in the belly of a whore or on the floor?
- 2:18:29Yeah, he's right though either way.
- 2:18:32Yeah, let's see, what else do we got here?
- 2:18:35I wanted to read Apex. Gamma came by and I don't know
- 2:18:39if he's still listening but he said hope you all had a Merry
- 2:18:41Christmas chat with a heart and Sammy get a new camera.
- 2:18:45The kids look when sharp, You know Merry Christmas to Apex as
- 2:18:49well. Obviously the former Co host of
- 2:18:52the show and good friend. Yeah, who a bunch.
- 2:18:56Of Morpheus. And then MAGA News Network says
- 2:18:59this luck guy can't walk on like Sam.
- 2:19:01We talked about that, Morpheus said.
- 2:19:03Fuck rhyming. What do you think about that,
- 2:19:05Shmuley? I think he's a little bitch and
- 2:19:08he's jealous that he can't rhyme.
- 2:19:14Morpheus also said CCD. That's what we call Catholic
- 2:19:17education for. I didn't use that term.
- 2:19:19I say catechism was a pain in the Dick Wednesday evenings
- 2:19:23growing up, but looking back, it's giving me my core values.
- 2:19:26Yeah, admittedly I went to longer ones than a lot of people
- 2:19:32they had me signed up for. That's how it was.
- 2:19:35It's 'cause we got the monastery over here and shit.
- 2:19:37But yeah, at the very least it's going to be like 3 or 4 hours
- 2:19:40once a week for most, most of your education.
- 2:19:44You you get your your confirmation.
- 2:19:48I was in like 11th grade, so basically like a junior.
- 2:19:53So OK, I didn't do that one last year of senior as it's CCD kind
- 2:19:59of. It's a grind but but like.
- 2:20:06I've heard. It's given him his core values.
- 2:20:09That's true of me as well, yeah. Yeah, I I yeah, I can.
- 2:20:11I can respect, I can respect that so.
- 2:20:17You know, we did a lot of philosophy, a lot of study, a
- 2:20:19lot of introspection and these are things it's like I said,
- 2:20:22just things I noticed that I don't see a lot of from like
- 2:20:26Baptist or evangelical or non denominational churches.
- 2:20:30And it's like I said, I think that there's their way of
- 2:20:34talking to children is better at getting children to accept and
- 2:20:37understand the core message quicker.
- 2:20:40But in. And I think it's less fulfilling
- 2:20:42and it leads to a less, like, introspective view on religion,
- 2:20:46which seems to be what's missing from a lot of people.
- 2:20:49I feel like that's I'm not Mattea, you know, what I got for
- 2:20:53Christmas was some clothes, and that's what I.
- 2:20:56Mostly. If you get me anything but I
- 2:20:58said get me nothing, because I'm just not a materialistic guy, I
- 2:21:02said spend your money on my kid. I got some.
- 2:21:07I got some clothes, too. I got.
- 2:21:10That was actually one thing I wanted to ask while everyone was
- 2:21:13here. What?
- 2:21:13What did everyone get for Christmas?
- 2:21:15I know when we I was thinking the same thing, like everybody
- 2:21:18could talk at Christmas and then I, you know, we got lost in
- 2:21:21conversation, but we could. Do that.
- 2:21:24Bit now, right? What'd you get, Sam?
- 2:21:27How was your? Christmas.
- 2:21:28Overall, I know you had a special gift for your grandma
- 2:21:31and you should talk about that too.
- 2:21:33That was a good one. Well, my my Christmas overall
- 2:21:36was pretty good. I had a pretty good.
- 2:21:38Fit right into a plug, too. A heartwarming plug.
- 2:21:41She well, she gifted me I. It was actually an early
- 2:21:47Christmas present, but she gifted me some writing software
- 2:21:51from the good folks at atticus dot IO.
- 2:21:55Not to sponsor the show, but I want to plug them anyway because
- 2:21:59they make great. Legitimately use and like which
- 2:22:03is even better. I mean, I mean, listen, if if
- 2:22:08the folks at Atticus IO want to, you know, throw a couple bucks,
- 2:22:11please. But by all means, you know,
- 2:22:15we'll throw the banner in the show notes.
- 2:22:17By all, by all means. But I was able to reformat
- 2:22:28Shadows of Deception and make it a little tidier as far as the
- 2:22:36formatting goes. So that's what, you know, I got
- 2:22:41from my grandmother, and in turn I gave her a copy of the reprint
- 2:22:46signed for her Christmas present.
- 2:22:50Which? The book is dedicated to her
- 2:22:52audience. Which?
- 2:22:53Is really nice as well because she gifted Sam a great gift as a
- 2:22:57child, which was a gift of love, of reading, apparently, which
- 2:23:01seems like that's the person to dedicate a book to when you
- 2:23:05write one, huh? That's a beautiful story.
- 2:23:08I just wanted to, you know, make sure we got that one out there,
- 2:23:11'cause there's a lot of human gloom out there, but that's a
- 2:23:14very nice story. Well, and she's also, she's also
- 2:23:1889 and she's in really good health.
- 2:23:22I want to make that clear. I don't think she's. 89 years
- 2:23:26young, you know. I don't think she's going to
- 2:23:28pass away anytime soon, but a lot of people, they dedicate
- 2:23:32books to family members after they've passed away and there's
- 2:23:37nothing wrong with that. But I wanted to dedicate the.
- 2:23:41Book to her. Version Know how much you
- 2:23:43appreciate her. Yeah, I wanted to dedicate the
- 2:23:46book to her while she was still alive and when I gave her the
- 2:23:48first book in June, which I have.
- 2:23:56Let's see, I actually, I've never done this before.
- 2:23:59I have both copies. Someone actually asked me of
- 2:24:04this. So hold on, this one is the 1st
- 2:24:12edition, which is a. Which is a nice cover.
- 2:24:16It's not that it wasn't good, right?
- 2:24:19But you had the chance to do it over again.
- 2:24:22And I do like what you came out with in the second one.
- 2:24:25So this is the newer edition, which by the way this this kind
- 2:24:31of noir style is going to be the kind of I guess the.
- 2:24:35The picture reflects the original picture in a lot of
- 2:24:39ways anyway, right? It kind of has the same vibe.
- 2:24:43Yeah, well, and this, this is going to be kind of the style
- 2:24:47going forward and future. I like it because.
- 2:24:50Also, because it looks kind of like the font and everything
- 2:24:53reminds me of like the old dime store novels, I may be dating
- 2:24:57myself a little. No, that.
- 2:24:59It's funny you bring that up because that's essentially what
- 2:25:02novellas are. They're essentially dime store.
- 2:25:07Yeah, they're just. They're just novels.
- 2:25:11Yeah, and that's. What you're making, because it's
- 2:25:13not, it's not like it's a 500 page slog.
- 2:25:17It's a short novel that, right? Honestly, I read it in one
- 2:25:20night. Yeah, no, I I read it.
- 2:25:25Past though I. Mean it?
- 2:25:26Would take them a couple days, but it's not something that will
- 2:25:29take my a month. My friend, my friend Eric Bishop
- 2:25:34actually wrote a a dime sword novel too here Ransomed
- 2:25:41daughter. And yes, I I.
- 2:25:43Nice. I do keep these three books on
- 2:25:45my desk. And yeah, so, yeah, I mean, so
- 2:25:55it was it's it was like. Godzilla and he got ATV from not
- 2:26:03even a family member, some old lady who's friends with his
- 2:26:07grandmother. Oh, that.
- 2:26:09That's sweet. Oh, and then I also, you might
- 2:26:15remember my folks were in Italy for two months and I got some
- 2:26:19really nice handmade dress shirts.
- 2:26:23Or I guess one of which I'm wearing.
- 2:26:26There you go. So that was nice.
- 2:26:28And then just because my dad, just because my stepdad and I
- 2:26:33had kind of have a quirky sense of humor, he got me this really
- 2:26:37nice bot opener and the shape of a tie so and I and I gave him
- 2:26:49back his bot opener today, which I've which I was keeping in my
- 2:26:53drawer so. Yeah, I.
- 2:26:58Basically got clothes, I got a pair of shoes and the one thing
- 2:27:02that was very nice actually was my mother-in-law gave me and my
- 2:27:08wife each a mug and they were basically my father in law's two
- 2:27:12favorite mugs. And the one I got his Santa mug,
- 2:27:15which was his like all time favorite 'cause he collected
- 2:27:17Santa stuff, yes, even off his house was full of Christmas
- 2:27:22stuff year round. He was that guy.
- 2:27:25He loved his. He called them.
- 2:27:27He collected Santa's stuff, and he called them his Ho Hos.
- 2:27:32Oh, that's that's funny. And you mentioned you got joy
- 2:27:38from gifting your son that Godzilla.
- 2:27:40Well, I got joy from gifting my mom Elon Musk's biography.
- 2:27:49If if you think I'm an Elon Musk, Stan or Simp, which I
- 2:27:54admittedly am, she is even more so.
- 2:27:58And she's she's one of those people where she's notoriously
- 2:28:02hard to buy for. I immediately knew that I had to
- 2:28:07get it, But was sold. It was sold out.
- 2:28:10So I had to wait until October to get it for and because I knew
- 2:28:18if I waited, it would sell out for the holidays.
- 2:28:21And sure enough, it did. And the smile that she got, that
- 2:28:29she had on her face when she opened it, That in and of itself
- 2:28:33was a gift. Just the the smile.
- 2:28:39So, Morpheus says. I got my I.
- 2:28:45Got joy from gifting my mom a car Slash portable, pistol safe
- 2:28:53based and Morpheus. Austin says that he.
- 2:28:58Got a a? Blue Yeti Mic.
- 2:29:04Which I would when he's getting on this show with us and the
- 2:29:08Lego fenders. Yes, the the Lego Strat build.
- 2:29:11Set. I saw him post that picture.
- 2:29:13That's pretty cool. I liked as a bit of a guitar
- 2:29:16guy. I kind of like that and and
- 2:29:19Morpheus I I would, I would actually show my Yeti that I
- 2:29:22have. Because it's not here on my
- 2:29:27desk, but need us to say it's so heavy that that yeah, it's hard.
- 2:29:37To lift. One of those things.
- 2:29:39And he got joy from gifting his mom a car slash portable pistol
- 2:29:43safe. My.
- 2:29:44Stepfather is very anti very is capitalized anti gun.
- 2:29:48So I got double Joy based, you know?
- 2:29:52Yeah, you gotta piss off people. Just the little the little
- 2:29:57subtle ways. That you can.
- 2:29:59For your own amusement sometimes.
- 2:30:00Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:30:05Thankfully, thankfully. Everyone in my household mostly
- 2:30:08agrees on stuff, so except there there's one relative who is
- 2:30:19like. Die Hard isn't a Christmas
- 2:30:21movie. So of.
- 2:30:23Course, I had to troll that person by insisting that Die
- 2:30:26Hard is not only a Christmas movie, but it's but it's the
- 2:30:30best Christmas movie ever made. So there you go.
- 2:30:35I I've always believed that. A clockwork.
- 2:30:40Orange is a Christmas. Movie.
- 2:30:45I'm not. Is there a Christmas scene in
- 2:30:49there? I can't.
- 2:30:50Remember. Yeah, there's snow in one scene,
- 2:30:54so it's a Christmas movie. Fair.
- 2:30:57Fair enough. Anything can be a Christmas
- 2:31:01movie. If you watch it on Christmas,
- 2:31:05well. Right.
- 2:31:06Sorry. Well, I I'm not.
- 2:31:08I mean. I'm not sure that like a.
- 2:31:10Clockwork. Work.
- 2:31:11Orange. Is the like, oh, I remember that
- 2:31:15is what I wanted to bring up Sam.
- 2:31:16I remember yes. I fucking can of worms and I'm.
- 2:31:20Glad that it's just us, because they.
- 2:31:23'D probably. Get.
- 2:31:24You know, be weirded out, but there's this whole merch scam.
- 2:31:27Have you heard about this with like, the big creators and
- 2:31:30revolt? Yes, I.
- 2:31:34Yes. Also, real quick before you go
- 2:31:36on that I, I. Wanted to point out.
- 2:31:39You posted something an hour gilded about, like Hobby or me
- 2:31:43immediately posting the Clockwork Orange.
- 2:31:47Yeah, that's why I thought of that, you know?
- 2:31:49Yeah, I mean, he had a baseball bat in like.
- 2:31:53A Clockwork Orange Pose and he was doing a Kubrick.
- 2:31:55Stare which? By the way, means that that
- 2:31:58person is spiraling into insanity if they do a Kubrick
- 2:32:01stare. Yeah, which is pretty based, but
- 2:32:06it is kind of cringe. It's both.
- 2:32:08Right, it can be both. I I I like, I like it since
- 2:32:12we're doing Clockwork Orange, Morpheus said.
- 2:32:14But is the movie. Taking place during the
- 2:32:17Christmas season. Max, actually, Because it is
- 2:32:22because there is a fucking, what, eight years when he's in
- 2:32:27prison, right? So it takes.
- 2:32:31Place over the course of A. Decade.
- 2:32:32So there's like 10 Christmas seasons.
- 2:32:35So it's 10 times. Oh, Christmas movie over.
- 2:32:40But yeah, he said, he watched. Coffeezilla.
- 2:32:41I knew Coffeezilla was doing a big.
- 2:32:44Thing on this, it's. So there's this merch company
- 2:32:47Revolt, and it's basically just like the CEO spent all his money
- 2:32:51on essentially hookers and blow. I think it was like fancy
- 2:32:54restaurants and private jets or whatever.
- 2:32:56And he didn't pay any of the people that he did merch for and
- 2:33:00they didn't even fulfil a lot of the orders.
- 2:33:02Essentially is the scam. And then they were up charging
- 2:33:08vendors more than cost. And I think it that's an
- 2:33:12interesting wrinkle to me because a lot of people don't
- 2:33:15realize this. Now, Sam, you're a music, you
- 2:33:18like music, right? Have you noticed that banned
- 2:33:21merchandise, maybe you don't go to a lot of concerts, but banned
- 2:33:24merchandise is so much more expensive now, not even in in
- 2:33:29track with inflation, than it was before the the pandemic.
- 2:33:33It's it's funny that you say that because, well, I might not
- 2:33:36go to a lot of concerts. I do tend to go.
- 2:33:39Online and try and shop like in support bands.
- 2:33:42I like online and even that without like just basic prices
- 2:33:49on my T-shirts and whatnot, that's expensive.
- 2:33:55So they're already I understand market but like and actually
- 2:33:58that's. The.
- 2:33:59The irony I can get. To there is that's.
- 2:34:02The best way to actually. Support the band is what you're
- 2:34:04doing, buying online. So what's what's happened
- 2:34:08recently? You know, I follow like the
- 2:34:11music industry to some degree. Ronnie, I think it's Ronnie
- 2:34:14Radka. He's in a band.
- 2:34:16I don't remember the name of them.
- 2:34:19It's one of those modern metal bands that I'm just kind of not
- 2:34:22familiar with. It's not even not a band.
- 2:34:25But he did something interesting.
- 2:34:27He went up on stage at the Armory in Minnesota,
- 2:34:31Minneapolis, and he said he was the headlining band of the the
- 2:34:37card, right? And he he didn't, he said.
- 2:34:39I don't have merchandise tonight.
- 2:34:41I know you, a lot of you guys noticed.
- 2:34:43The reason for that is because the venue wanted a 25% cut of
- 2:34:50the merchandise and that's on top of the cut from the supply
- 2:34:53chain and that's on top of the cut from the people.
- 2:34:55Transporting. The merchandise and that's on
- 2:34:57cut from the people producing the merchandise and that's on
- 2:34:59cut from and on and on and on. And so at the end of the day, a
- 2:35:04lot of these artists that are selling band T-shirts, you might
- 2:35:07think to yourself, holy shit. 60.
- 2:35:09Dollars for AT shirt. They have to do that.
- 2:35:14They have to do that because the right off the bat takes. 15
- 2:35:17bucks. Right off the bat.
- 2:35:19The venue. For nothing.
- 2:35:21For just being there. Now there's.
- 2:35:23That's not entirely true, right? I was never like a tour manager
- 2:35:28or anything, so I don't know all the insurance and outs of how
- 2:35:31that works. But I've seen, you know, I've
- 2:35:33dealt with like the merch guys and stuff and it it's a lot of
- 2:35:36moving stuff around. You get a clear stuff, there's
- 2:35:39all these hurdles and then each venue's different.
- 2:35:41Another thing you might not know do do you know about price
- 2:35:45matching? This is an interesting
- 2:35:47phenomenon. So, yeah, a little bit, Yeah,
- 2:35:53so. Basically a.
- 2:35:54Headline band on the tour is going to set.
- 2:35:58The merch prices for their merchandise that gets sold
- 2:36:01right? And so let's say.
- 2:36:03They set. $45.00 a T-shirt and $60.00 for a hoodie, right?
- 2:36:08And let's say you're the opening band and you're Nobody really
- 2:36:12knows who you are. You're getting your feet under
- 2:36:14you. You might not even have a.
- 2:36:15Record out yet or. Whatever.
- 2:36:17And you're trying to you want. If they hear you, you want them
- 2:36:20to buy your merch and you just have 10 T-shirts.
- 2:36:24So let's say you want to sell those 10 T-shirts at $15 a pop.
- 2:36:27The main tour manager or someone from the band is going to say,
- 2:36:31Hey bro, you have to price match.
- 2:36:36You have to sell your shit for the same price that we sell our
- 2:36:39shit for. Why?
- 2:36:41Because. You're undercutting us, so
- 2:36:44they're essentially the headline bands want their.
- 2:36:46Shirt to get. Sold the most.
- 2:36:47And there's nothing wrong with that, inherently right.
- 2:36:50It's their tour, It's their house, their rules.
- 2:36:53But what they're saying is, is that you selling it at $15.
- 2:36:57They're worried that a guy is going to come and buy two of
- 2:36:59your shirts instead of one of theirs.
- 2:37:02You're undercutting them right now.
- 2:37:05That sounds silly if you think about it for a.
- 2:37:07Second, because you didn't. Come there to see the fucking
- 2:37:09opening act, right? And a lot of times people are
- 2:37:12willing to pay a couple extra bucks for a tour T-shirt, 'cause
- 2:37:14they know it goes mostly to the band, right?
- 2:37:18In fact, merchandise, the best way to support any band you like
- 2:37:21is not even to not subscribe to Spotify, not fucking buy their
- 2:37:25albums, but actually buy their merchandise and specifically at
- 2:37:29their tour. So when these tour companies and
- 2:37:32venues are because there's tour companies on top of it, there's
- 2:37:35companies that are taking 30% cut.
- 2:37:38So when you think about it, at the end of the day, this band
- 2:37:43and the reason I bring it all back to the scam with these Mr.
- 2:37:47Beast and all. These other creators and
- 2:37:48Coffeezilla made a. Video on it.
- 2:37:50The scam that they're doing on the T-shirts is nothing compared
- 2:37:54to what the average music industry is doing with the tour
- 2:37:57band T-shirts. And the person they're hurting
- 2:37:59the most is all these bands that tour for a living.
- 2:38:02You know, a lot of people think that the music industry is full
- 2:38:05of like, these rich rock stars. And you might be right if you're
- 2:38:09talking about the radio number one single guys, OK.
- 2:38:12But a lot of metal bands, in particular in rock bands now,
- 2:38:15their margin for living is not exactly great, especially in if
- 2:38:20they if you're in a younger band and you're just getting started
- 2:38:22out and by making them price match like that, they can't even
- 2:38:28sell those $15 T. Shirts whereas.
- 2:38:30If they did that, they might take home a couple 100 bucks to
- 2:38:32pay their rent. Now they're going to sell two or
- 2:38:36three T-shirts at 45 bucks and maybe they get a higher per
- 2:38:41sale, but they're going to get less sales.
- 2:38:42And usually the bulk of sales is how they make the merchandise in
- 2:38:46these opening no name bands because you're hoping this is
- 2:38:49what it is. You're hoping that you performed
- 2:38:52a good enough concert as the opener that they'll go buy your
- 2:38:55T-shirt because they've never heard of you.
- 2:38:57In most cases, well, no. It's the same as the main band,
- 2:39:02right? Why don't you?
- 2:39:04Just buy the main band. You already paid.
- 2:39:06Like 80? Dollars to go see that the
- 2:39:07ticket prices, we can do ticket prices on a whole episode.
- 2:39:10I'll get into how they're screwing you on ticket prices
- 2:39:13now and that you shouldn't be going to these live events at
- 2:39:15all. And really, if you want to
- 2:39:17support bands, just buy their Merck online.
- 2:39:20Don't go to these mega concerts that they throw anymore because
- 2:39:23they're fucking everybody. The ticket holders, the bands,
- 2:39:26everybody. It's just an absolute mess.
- 2:39:28But just the merch sales stuff, it's actually really difficult
- 2:39:34to have like a decent merch distribution line for a band
- 2:39:39that moves the fucking product. That's the tough part to have it
- 2:39:42at the shows. So Ronnie said Ronnie Radcliffe
- 2:39:46from God, I feel bad that I don't know his band name, but he
- 2:39:51said we're not selling merch tonight at all.
- 2:39:54And if you want to buy a tour shirt you can go to the website,
- 2:39:56You'll get it a lot cheaper because they're taking 25
- 2:39:59percent. 25% is extortionate essentially, is what he said.
- 2:40:03And he said fuck the venue, fuck you will never play here again.
- 2:40:07On and on and on. Now is 25% extortionate.
- 2:40:13Yes, it actually is, but would it surprise you to?
- 2:40:18Know that the. Average rate, give or take is
- 2:40:2020. A venue takes. 20% on average
- 2:40:24from every band and every show. That one didn't surprise me at
- 2:40:27all. But yeah, I mean, I like and
- 2:40:29from the gate as well. Yeah, I mean, like I I've like,
- 2:40:34I've heard. As you know I've I have.
- 2:40:37Friends who are in the in The, Who are in the indie, you know,
- 2:40:42music scene, even with them venues, you know, rip off, rip
- 2:40:48them off on merch and whatnot, which is literally like, that's
- 2:40:52like ripping the heart of your income for any indie musician or
- 2:40:56midstream. Like people.
- 2:40:57There's mainstream. Like Jay ZS not worried about
- 2:41:00this problem. Fucking.
- 2:41:02You know what I mean? The big, big people aren't.
- 2:41:03But like the midstream, the people that you might have heard
- 2:41:06of like, band on the radio are struggling.
- 2:41:11Yeah. No.
- 2:41:12Well, it's it's funny you're bringing this up because my my
- 2:41:15friend Eric. During our interview he brought
- 2:41:20up, he brought up that he's friends with the guys from from
- 2:41:23the band Shinedown. And Shinedown is a pretty well
- 2:41:27known band, but they make they're not shitting on
- 2:41:32Shinedown. They make a good living, but
- 2:41:34they're one of those bands. That.
- 2:41:36If you. Screwed them for an entire tour
- 2:41:39on their merch sales. Their kids would have a shittier
- 2:41:42Christmas. They're not rich.
- 2:41:44Yeah. No, no, that's that's
- 2:41:46specifically why that's specifically why bring them up
- 2:41:48is because. Yeah, they are.
- 2:41:50A really good band. They have mortgages, not
- 2:41:52mansions, you know? Yeah, most musicians.
- 2:41:57Who do that as a career are what you might consider.
- 2:41:59Working. Class.
- 2:42:02And I know that's hard for people to kind of grasp because,
- 2:42:05like the allure of the rock. Stars but it's It's A at.
- 2:42:08The end of the day, it's like a fun job, but it's a job.
- 2:42:12And it's a job that not everybody gets to be the CEO of,
- 2:42:16right? Well, that.
- 2:42:18That's the same thing with. That's the same thing with
- 2:42:20authors in the field that you know.
- 2:42:22I'm in like people. Like, yeah, it's like, I think
- 2:42:26makes a lot of money, but your average guy doesn't make nearly.
- 2:42:29That. Not even remotely.
- 2:42:32Yeah, well, that's that's the thing, too.
- 2:42:34Like, people think that. Oh, I got.
- 2:42:36Signed into I. Got I got signed in on to Simon
- 2:42:40and Schuster. I've got like, I missed your
- 2:42:44money bags. I've got money rolling in.
- 2:42:46No, As we Sometimes people lie about being signed to Penguin.
- 2:42:50But that's a whole different thing.
- 2:42:53Well, yeah. Well, yeah, there's there's,
- 2:42:56there's that too. But the funny part is.
- 2:42:58In in regards to Penguin. Right.
- 2:43:00They just kind of had a lawsuit around the same.
- 2:43:03Time that that whole thing happened that I mentioned.
- 2:43:05And Penguin. It came out in the lawsuit that
- 2:43:0890% of the authors signed with Penguin Publishing.
- 2:43:11So less than 12 books, right? Yeah, a lot of the artistic
- 2:43:17field is the starving. Artist.
- 2:43:19But then there's a you. Know because people always see
- 2:43:21it like. That there's the starving artist
- 2:43:23and the absolute rock star. But most of the industry is like
- 2:43:28Tex studio, musicians, sound guys, Merc guys, tour guys,
- 2:43:32band. Members who have been in. 15
- 2:43:34different bands and or they fill in for famous bands like tour
- 2:43:38tour musicians, right. You know about tour musicians?
- 2:43:40That's a tough job. A lot of time.
- 2:43:43Yeah, tough job. Sometimes it'll be your tour
- 2:43:46musician for a band that doesn't have a band.
- 2:43:49Kid. Rock's a good example of that,
- 2:43:51right? He'll pick up a bunch of tour
- 2:43:52musicians. Does he pick the same guys a lot
- 2:43:54of the time? Yeah, he does, right.
- 2:43:57But if you're that tour musician, you ain't making Kid
- 2:43:59Rock money. He takes care of his people.
- 2:44:01I'm not saying he doesn't, but you're it's still almost like a
- 2:44:04A. You're like upper middle class.
- 2:44:07You're not wealthy. You make a kid, I mean and but
- 2:44:12it gets cut into real easily because this year kid.
- 2:44:14Rock ain't going. Out on tour?
- 2:44:16And now the. That one country band that you
- 2:44:19play with 50, you know times before they're not out on tour.
- 2:44:23And so who, what band can I get in?
- 2:44:25And maybe then you get in with this band that needed a fucking
- 2:44:28guitarist, but it turns out they don't like your style.
- 2:44:30And so halfway through the tour you go home and at the end of
- 2:44:33the year you don't have as much money this fucking year.
- 2:44:35And that's the average struggle of most of the music industry.
- 2:44:39Well, and that's why. And we can talk about this now
- 2:44:43we're here on Rumble. I mean COVID, I I had to.
- 2:44:47You know, Sam, why are you still talking about COVID?
- 2:44:50COVID was devastating for people.
- 2:44:54Any bands, any rock wrestling, just almost in general it.
- 2:44:59Almost it. It got.
- 2:45:00To the point WWE was in trouble it well, yeah, and it even
- 2:45:05killed any live entertainment. Theaters are closing comedy.
- 2:45:09Comedy. Yeah, everything.
- 2:45:11And that and but now a lot. Of the people are.
- 2:45:14Basically, like we now know that because we were closed for so
- 2:45:18long, we can gouge up the price. This is why they're charging
- 2:45:21more for renting halls for shows.
- 2:45:25They're charging more for supposed damages if you let them
- 2:45:30handle your merch rather. So there's two kinds of merch
- 2:45:33you can sell as a band at a venue, right?
- 2:45:35There's where you guys handle it yourselves, self sell and then
- 2:45:39there's venue sell where the venue, they have their
- 2:45:42concession stands built in and you just put your merch over
- 2:45:44there. When you do the venue sell, 25%
- 2:45:48becomes like 40, right? And that's on top.
- 2:45:52Again. To get this stuff to a venue.
- 2:45:55To get your equipment to a venue.
- 2:45:57To get your people to a venue. You have truck drivers that
- 2:46:00you've hired. You have techs, You have
- 2:46:02engineers, You have sound guys. You have a guy whose whole job
- 2:46:05is to carry your Merc boxes out of a truck and bring them in at
- 2:46:09every fucking stop. That guy's getting paid too, and
- 2:46:12he's getting paid on your dime because he's your roadie.
- 2:46:15Yeah, the the the industry is fucking brutal, man.
- 2:46:20It's actually so brutal, So. So getting back to this gaming
- 2:46:25thing though, because. Someone.
- 2:46:26Asked and chat like how does this?
- 2:46:28Relate to YouTube because it's a merch problem across the board
- 2:46:36there. That's what this company is.
- 2:46:39This Revolt company is doing that too.
- 2:46:43They're. Putting their own.
- 2:46:45Cost marking up the cost and they're doing essentially
- 2:46:48nothing. They're not move.
- 2:46:50That's why I wanted to point out all the different things you
- 2:46:52have to account for as a band. They're supposed to be doing all
- 2:46:56of that. This revolt company and instead,
- 2:46:59not only did they not do all that, they're stiffing people on
- 2:47:03the money that they actually earned on sales.
- 2:47:05They're just saying we don't have any money that.
- 2:47:13I. Mean.
- 2:47:13I know it's not Sam we're talking.
- 2:47:15Sam to the. Tune of like.
- 2:47:16I believe it's like 14. $1,000,000 total.
- 2:47:20That we know of. Holy shit.
- 2:47:22Yeah. And that's just the people
- 2:47:24willing to talk on or off the record.
- 2:47:27With coffee zilla. And some other.
- 2:47:28Guys, 'cause he? Wasn't the 1st to cover?
- 2:47:30This. He's the 1st to do a big YouTube
- 2:47:32video on it though, and he's usually really thorough about
- 2:47:34it. But yeah, they're they're
- 2:47:38jacking up the price on all this merch and and.
- 2:47:42They're. Jacking up the prices internally
- 2:47:44as well. So they're actually charging Mr.
- 2:47:46Beast and all these people more and then not delivering and then
- 2:47:50not paying them. So they take a huger cut to
- 2:47:56start with, but then they. Never pay you, so they took all
- 2:47:59your money in the end anyway. I guess that's the only
- 2:48:02difference between them and all these, like, gouging promoters.
- 2:48:06And another one, don't go buy your favorite band's merchandise
- 2:48:10at Walmart. You know how much they get off
- 2:48:12of that? Zero.
- 2:48:14It's usually a bootleg. It's not real.
- 2:48:16It's not official and endorsed. And even if it is.
- 2:48:20They're not. You're not seeing a cent off of
- 2:48:22it. Yeah, I know.
- 2:48:25I I. If you want to support a band.
- 2:48:28Buy their T-shirt directly. From their website or when
- 2:48:32they're. On tour, 'cause if they have
- 2:48:33Merck on tour, it's 'cause they want you to buy it.
- 2:48:36And even if the venue is taking like a criminally over the top
- 2:48:41cut, it's still the best money they're getting.
- 2:48:44So if you want to help a band, that's the way to do it.
- 2:48:45And I would say the same with a YouTube.
- 2:48:47Except here. Here you have a problem is that
- 2:48:50now they're merch distributor. Because this is a way a lot of
- 2:48:52Youtubers make their money now, right?
- 2:48:54And we've been saying from the beginning, we'd rather sell you
- 2:48:56something than just sit here and be like, oh please, you know,
- 2:49:01merge it out for fucking donations.
- 2:49:03Not that we. Aren't not that you can't super
- 2:49:06chat in or whatever, but we're not you know the the primary
- 2:49:09focus is you selling a book. So it's like merchandise sales
- 2:49:14is the way that these online creators can sell their money
- 2:49:17and they. Can't even.
- 2:49:18Trust the distribution methods at all.
- 2:49:21And that's that's a pretty tough situation.
- 2:49:26Yeah, Spring sucks. Teespring kind of sucks.
- 2:49:29But here's the thing. Teespring will at.
- 2:49:31Least. Follow through on your orders,
- 2:49:35Yeah. And that that is that is one
- 2:49:37thing I and look, I I. They'll.
- 2:49:41Pay you? Yeah, I actually I.
- 2:49:45I did use Teespring A. While ago up.
- 2:49:48Until they banned one of my designs for whatever reason.
- 2:49:54I don't know it it was original. But no, I mean that that's,
- 2:50:03that's the other thing too, is like a lot of people.
- 2:50:07They think that. They think they.
- 2:50:08Make a lot of money off of ad revenue, but in reality you only
- 2:50:12make like $0.03. Yeah, and the and the.
- 2:50:15The entertainment business is a business and you got to find the
- 2:50:19ways. To run it properly, right.
- 2:50:21And a lot of people get into this and it's great to have a
- 2:50:25service that provides Merck stuff for you like that, right.
- 2:50:28But what it basically amounted to is, is this one guy running
- 2:50:32the company took advantage of a bunch of people that don't know
- 2:50:35how to run their business and said, I'll run your business for
- 2:50:38you and took all their money. Yeah.
- 2:50:42Be very careful if they're if they're going to run your
- 2:50:44business for you, especially with.
- 2:50:46Merck Sales I've. Seen and and this is.
- 2:50:48Why I have to relate it to the music industry because it's the
- 2:50:50closest I I have right to tell you about all the predatory
- 2:50:55things that go on. But I've seen people get stiffed
- 2:50:57on their Merck money. Absolutely.
- 2:50:59You know a venue owner when you do a venue sell, just decides
- 2:51:04for. The night he ain't.
- 2:51:05Giving you your cut, What are you going?
- 2:51:06To do about it, you're you're the fucking, you're the fucking
- 2:51:09opening band. You're not even on the tour.
- 2:51:12You're just they hired you for this one fucking show in this
- 2:51:14one city because it's where you're from.
- 2:51:16What are you going to do about it, tough guy?
- 2:51:20Not much, right? Nothing you can do.
- 2:51:22Also the owner. Also the owner of the venue is.
- 2:51:25Like, I mean nobody. Says it but.
- 2:51:27Everybody knows he's tied to the mob.
- 2:51:29What are you going to do? You take the fucking L?
- 2:51:32Well, that that's the life of a fucking indie band, and I hate
- 2:51:36that. That's basically what's going on
- 2:51:37with. Creators.
- 2:51:38On other. Platforms.
- 2:51:39Too Now is the Merck people. They don't have to be the actual
- 2:51:42mob. They're still going to steal
- 2:51:44your fucking money. Well, and that.
- 2:51:46That and folks like a lot. A lot of people ask, like, why
- 2:51:49don't we? Why don't?
- 2:51:50We put out. Merch.
- 2:51:52Yet part of it is, Part of it is.
- 2:51:56We may be a little lazy, but another part of it is we
- 2:51:59actually want to find like a good merch distributor, if
- 2:52:05that's even possible. It's tough.
- 2:52:08I'll tell you, it's really tough because a lot of the ones like
- 2:52:11like Teespring. It.
- 2:52:13Has the benefit of they will deliver, but it has the downside
- 2:52:17of that their Merc is terrible. Their T-shirts are like, poorly
- 2:52:22made. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:52:25And and I just think. That our fans don't want
- 2:52:29something that's going to rub off if they fucking.
- 2:52:32Pay for it. But at the same time, the one
- 2:52:35like maybe, maybe because there's people listening at this
- 2:52:39point we've been talking for almost 3 hours, would be maybe
- 2:52:42the people interested in the merchandise.
- 2:52:43So let me tell you the fucking dilemma, All right, gentlemen,
- 2:52:46is that what's your price range? How about that?
- 2:52:49Leave a comment if you're hearing this and you're
- 2:52:51interested in buying merch. I'll tell you.
- 2:52:54Here's some options. If we go with Teespring, I can
- 2:52:57get them under 20. Dollars you can have.
- 2:52:59Whitfield Report shirt. But when you wash that bitch,
- 2:53:02it's going to start fading off, OK?
- 2:53:07And it'll put money in Sam's pocket and maybe it'll be 20.
- 2:53:09It's like 15. Bucks at cost.
- 2:53:11And we'll. Maybe put?
- 2:53:125 towards towards Sam, right, right, because that's the whole
- 2:53:16point is to make a profit. So we'll try and get them to you
- 2:53:18at like a $20, you know, price point, right?
- 2:53:21But then your shirt's going to fall apart and you're going to
- 2:53:23be like this was a fucking waste of money.
- 2:53:26Alternatively, OK, we could go with something a little more
- 2:53:29premium. OK, but you're going to?
- 2:53:32Pay. More for a shirt.
- 2:53:33And it's not even going to be like Sam will still get that
- 2:53:36same $5 cut, but the shirt's going to cost 40.
- 2:53:39But it'll be a nice shirt. That's the dilemma that we face.
- 2:53:44So would you, would you guys rather look at the $20?
- 2:53:47Range for a T-shirt. Or the?
- 2:53:48$40 range for a good T-shirt. Leave your thoughts in the
- 2:53:53comments section down below and like comment and.
- 2:53:56Subscribe. Yes, and please, please,
- 2:53:59unironically let us know yeah, no 'cause I'm dead serious.
- 2:54:03That's the hold up. I might as well just tell.
- 2:54:05I might as well just level with them if.
- 2:54:07They're listening now. They're like our most loyal
- 2:54:09fans, right? I'm telling you right now, the
- 2:54:12dilemma about Merck for me has been do we want the $20 shitty
- 2:54:16T-shirt that's going to fall apart on you?
- 2:54:18But you canmore afford it because we're not trying to ask
- 2:54:20you to spend a million fucking dollars on on some shit to
- 2:54:23support the show, right? We live in goddamn Biden
- 2:54:26economy. But on the other hand, the
- 2:54:28$40.45, it might even be 45. I'm not going to lie, T-shirt
- 2:54:34will get delivered to you is guaranteed will be of higher
- 2:54:38quality, but it's going to be expensive and that's 45 by the
- 2:54:43way for the shirt before. Tax.
- 2:54:45And before. Shipping and handling.
- 2:54:47So how do I drop that bomb on the audience?
- 2:54:49I just kind of didn't make the decision.
- 2:54:54So yeah, if you have feedback on that, let me.
- 2:54:56Know well and and I and listen. Everything Max is saying I can
- 2:55:00Co sign and and look I've. Talked.
- 2:55:03To We have shark designs. We have shark designs well and I
- 2:55:07and I've also asked like. People on.
- 2:55:10Twitter like what I was going to.
- 2:55:11Do what? I was going to do with the shirt
- 2:55:13design, Sam, is that when we finally decided?
- 2:55:17On on a distributor in the in the price point I was going to
- 2:55:20have them vote on Twitter or whatever.
- 2:55:22Here's all the designs that we got, you know, top two, get in
- 2:55:25or whatever. And because I think it would be
- 2:55:29important for us to just have like one or two T-shirt.
- 2:55:32Designs. Rather than a whole slew of
- 2:55:34them, right, at least at 1st. And so that was the plan and I
- 2:55:40was going to. Show everybody my.
- 2:55:41Wife has made some that I've kept on file.
- 2:55:44I have some ideas for shit. We were going to have a whole
- 2:55:46bunch when and then and then. We were even going to ask for
- 2:55:48user submissions and have a pull.
- 2:55:51But it's tough to decide whether I is it reasonable for us to ask
- 2:55:55them to pay $20.00 for something that I personally think is of
- 2:56:00poor quality or almost 50 and probably after shipping in tax
- 2:56:05over 50? Well, the other thing too.
- 2:56:08Like for me is like I've asked. The book is such.
- 2:56:11A good fit guys. Because.
- 2:56:12It's under 20. Bucks you can get the book
- 2:56:14right. We're trying to be.
- 2:56:17We understood, you know, like we're not the most important
- 2:56:20thing in your life. The the book.
- 2:56:24You should turn it off now. Go.
- 2:56:27Find Jesus or something. After.
- 2:56:32After. After after the show is done.
- 2:56:35Though turn the, turn the. Program off after after.
- 2:56:38The show. Is on.
- 2:56:38No. But like this thing is like this
- 2:56:42thing is still $10. And yeah, but also it's like the
- 2:56:49the cover is actually like solid.
- 2:56:52You know, the paper is actually like solid.
- 2:56:55You know, I mean it's a books, but still it's like quality
- 2:56:59book, right, Of a certain standard.
- 2:57:01And that's what I'm saying. I did a run and This is why.
- 2:57:05I have this problem Sam is I did a run AT shirts you may remember
- 2:57:09for Internet Scumbag and no. Oh, I have one.
- 2:57:16Still over here? Somewhere my.
- 2:57:18Internet. Scumbag but the problem is is.
- 2:57:21It immediately faded off, and as soon as I got it, I only wore it
- 2:57:24once, which he wouldn't wear. Internet scumbag in public
- 2:57:28generally anyway, so it's not that big a deal.
- 2:57:30That wasn't why I bought it, right?
- 2:57:31And it wasn't when I had the shirt made.
- 2:57:33We had the shirt made so that people would send them to Dave
- 2:57:36and Ethan Ralph, and they did. So that's funny.
- 2:57:39But they fell apart. They were cheap and I don't know
- 2:57:45if people are willing to pony up the.
- 2:57:46Money for a. Whitfield report.
- 2:57:48Related T-shirt I would. Hope that it would be something
- 2:57:51they could wear more than once. Well, well, that, well, that's
- 2:57:54the whole thing too, is like and also something they can wear in
- 2:57:58public. We're very aware of that.
- 2:58:00We're not going to make a design that, like, embarrasses you
- 2:58:02trust. Me.
- 2:58:03Well, well, no, that that's the whole thing is like I've talked
- 2:58:06to people and they're like, yeah, we would, we would
- 2:58:08actually. You know, rub the show like out
- 2:58:11in public. So yeah, like we've got, we've
- 2:58:14got like college age kids who would wear their shirts on
- 2:58:18campus. And that's why I think, like, I
- 2:58:23want quality, but yeah, I have to.
- 2:58:26Level with the audience as honest as possible.
- 2:58:28If you want quality. It's going to cost a bit for AT
- 2:58:31Shirt and 50 plus dollars. It might be a bit much for AT
- 2:58:36shirt. It certainly would be on my edge
- 2:58:38right? If Listen, listen if no
- 2:58:42T-shirts. And that's still kind of a lot.
- 2:58:44Listen if if no one. Actually wanted to wear the.
- 2:58:47T-shirt like. If it was just like, we'll
- 2:58:49support the. Show and.
- 2:58:50Then it'll just be my cheap work shirt, you know, or you know,
- 2:58:55house. Then by all means I would want.
- 2:58:58Then by all means I would say OK, let's just do the cheap
- 2:59:01shirt, but no the. But if the only point is to
- 2:59:05support the show, just send the Super chat for the same amount.
- 2:59:09You know, yeah, I want you guys. That's the point.
- 2:59:12We want you guys to get something for your money.
- 2:59:14And we also, I I don't, I don't speak for Sam, but I don't
- 2:59:18necessarily want to promise we'll read each and every super
- 2:59:21chat because we've already missed tons of them from like
- 2:59:24Mega News Network over the year. Well, yeah.
- 2:59:28I mean, yeah. Rumble, That is one thing as
- 2:59:33Rumble has contributor except yeah, it's it's it's him and
- 2:59:38then Morpheus. I think on rumble.
- 2:59:42Yeah, sometimes we just don't see the chat well, that well.
- 2:59:46That is the one feature. That like I guess YouTube has is
- 2:59:50like you can actually. It like.
- 2:59:53I guess YouTube they like collect the Super chat, so you
- 2:59:56can actually like see them like for a bit.
- 3:00:01Morpheus says he'd be good with 40 to 50 for a T-shirt.
- 3:00:05Wouldn't be the first time. That's.
- 3:00:07Good to know. You know, it's it's tough though
- 3:00:10where you price these things and I.
- 3:00:12It's also where do you draw the line and like, am I going to
- 3:00:15sell people fucking shit? Yeah.
- 3:00:19I want to be the guy that sells shitty T-shirts, especially when
- 3:00:23everybody's. Going to know that's my fault.
- 3:00:26Right. You're not.
- 3:00:28You don't have a shop set up, so everybody's going to.
- 3:00:31Know that it's the producers. Fault, right?
- 3:00:33And I'm just. Going to be, and I've been
- 3:00:35talking about it, so I don't want them to be shitty, right?
- 3:00:40I want to deliver for the fan base because we've had a great
- 3:00:44year. In.
- 3:00:45Going going into the next year, there's going to be T I'll tell
- 3:00:49you that there's going to be T-shirts in Q1 at some point.
- 3:00:56I I do. I do want to and I do want to
- 3:00:58say this for the audience. Though too that last year about.
- 3:01:01Summer too. But I promise this time, that's
- 3:01:04my New Year's resolution, ladies and.
- 3:01:06Gentlemen, there will be T-shirts.
- 3:01:08Even if we go with the cheap shit.
- 3:01:11I probably well, hey, I I probably can't bring myself to
- 3:01:14to voice that upon the audience. I I.
- 3:01:17Do want to I. Do want to address?
- 3:01:18This for the audience too. A I'm.
- 3:01:23Because a few of you did buy the book as like a last minute
- 3:01:27Christmas. Present.
- 3:01:28And for that I'm very thankful. Unfortunately I also am sorry
- 3:01:36that some of you guys waited. Till the last minute.
- 3:01:40And Amazon was not able to fill fill your order.
- 3:01:43And if you're one of those you think you went beyond the last
- 3:01:45minute, that is, that is not my fault if.
- 3:01:50You if you ordered your if you. Ordered a book on Christmas.
- 3:01:53Day or no Christmas Eve and was expecting it to arrive on
- 3:01:58Christmas Day. No one should understand their
- 3:02:02print to order. Yes, right and and.
- 3:02:07Yeah, I guess. We should apologize for any
- 3:02:10confusion, obviously. But yeah, they are print to
- 3:02:13order. They print yours specifically
- 3:02:15for you. So if you thought you were going
- 3:02:17to order it at 8:00 PM on Christmas Eve and have it under
- 3:02:20your tree in the morning, I I regret to inform you that's
- 3:02:24that's not possible. I mean, I mean, yeah, but for
- 3:02:30anyone who ordered on Christmas. Eve, you should have either
- 3:02:33received your order today or should be, you know.
- 3:02:41Also I I don't handle, I can't actually see anyone's credit
- 3:02:46card had fell or whatnot. So if for some reason your
- 3:02:50credit card expired or like you know whatever limit or something
- 3:02:54which, you know some people do during the holidays, take that
- 3:02:59up with Amazon. So right, I I'm, I'm just, I'm
- 3:03:05just letting people know. I because I got some strange,
- 3:03:09you know. Messages because you're.
- 3:03:10Yeah, because you're not the distributor of any of this.
- 3:03:13That's not how it works. Amazon, you wrote.
- 3:03:16The book. You submit the book and then
- 3:03:18they handle all that back end stuff.
- 3:03:19You don't have a hand in any of them.
- 3:03:21Yeah, yeah, I I I do appreciate people reaching out to me.
- 3:03:27To let me know. About these issues.
- 3:03:30We, I really do appreciate that. But and, you know, things like,
- 3:03:37yeah, so I I did. I did check.
- 3:03:43In. To you know.
- 3:03:44Amazon. Like, I didn't message them and
- 3:03:47they pretty much told me what we just told you.
- 3:03:50So yeah, the one, the one T-shirt.
- 3:03:53I was thinking that wouldn't maybe be acceptable to wear in
- 3:03:57public and. I want to gauge your reaction on
- 3:03:59this would be just hashtag pussy smoke and then on the back it
- 3:04:06says the Whitfield report. And you know I'll.
- 3:04:09See and stuff. See.
- 3:04:12Like I I like that. Because that would be like one
- 3:04:15that would. That would be one that.
- 3:04:17Would like start conversations like what is and then people
- 3:04:22would let. People would look up the hashtag
- 3:04:25and hopefully they would. Hopefully they would.
- 3:04:30Find a link to. Our show and not other things
- 3:04:35on. What do you think of the concept
- 3:04:37I just gave for AT Shirt? OK, on the front.
- 3:04:41It just says hashtag, pussy, smoke, and on the back it says
- 3:04:46the Whitfield report and all our of our socials.
- 3:04:52Her head is in her hands right now.
- 3:04:55I'm not sure what that means I. I hate that I ever.
- 3:05:02See. Like I you said.
- 3:05:03I hate that I ever. Said that because she's now
- 3:05:06imagining the idea the. Concept of that.
- 3:05:09Being on AT shirt and the fact that we had a PhD engineer on to
- 3:05:14discuss the dynamics of it, but like that was one of our best
- 3:05:21episodes. Too One of our best episodes.
- 3:05:25Morpheus says he'd ripped that shit.
- 3:05:29Yeah, but like. Morpheus.
- 3:05:31Also you know. That's why.
- 3:05:34That's why I said two designs, right?
- 3:05:37One design can be the offensive. Pussy smoke?
- 3:05:40Sure to grab somebody's attention and then we'll have.
- 3:05:44It's designed that you could wear in public and not
- 3:05:46embarrassing. I I have AI, have AI have a
- 3:05:51third design. That.
- 3:05:56That, I think would be funny, but but it would be a super meta
- 3:06:01kind of joke, too. Just gay porn.
- 3:06:03I was thinking of that too. It would just no, no.
- 3:06:06But 'cause that's something that.
- 3:06:08Comes up on the show. No, but no, I didn't mean.
- 3:06:13Actual porn. I meant the word not.
- 3:06:15Porn and then the same way. Not to.
- 3:06:18Not well not to dissimilar to that I I the thought I.
- 3:06:22Had I got one. I got one 100K go gay for pay?
- 3:06:28No I I. Had a thought?
- 3:06:30It's a It's a design. Idea of you know the you know
- 3:06:35the Obama poster you know the OK, so I I had a.
- 3:06:43So I had an idea where. It's a picture of you shaking
- 3:06:46your finger and it just and it just says Jesus is watching.
- 3:06:54I do tend to point at the audience a lot, but they need
- 3:06:57it. Somebody should.
- 3:07:02Do you know how effective you do?
- 3:07:04Me with just the finger point and the dad.
- 3:07:06Voice. I make other.
- 3:07:08People's kids. Listen.
- 3:07:13I I bet. I bet you do.
- 3:07:17They're like, yeah. He ain't.
- 3:07:18Fucking He got the finger going. Yeah, that's.
- 3:07:23All it takes by the way, gentlemen, if you want.
- 3:07:26To be a good father, you need your.
- 3:07:29I you need to practice that, you need to have it at the right
- 3:07:32pitch and level of. Seriousness, and you need to be.
- 3:07:35Able to project. It very far.
- 3:07:37If you can do that, every child in the vicinity will stop and
- 3:07:41look. And wonder if.
- 3:07:43They're in trouble. I do that.
- 3:07:45I do that to my younger siblings.
- 3:07:46On occasion. Actually and.
- 3:07:48It works. They're they're still.
- 3:07:49Young. Enough that it actually does
- 3:07:52like, oh, it works if you do, if you, if you got the base, and if
- 3:07:55you've got the confidence, it works on fucking full.
- 3:07:58Grown men, dude. Well, yeah.
- 3:08:02No. Also, if you're a big hairy
- 3:08:04giant, I suppose. That helps.
- 3:08:06Well. Man, when I use my.
- 3:08:08Dad voice on like cat ladies it it cuts to the center of their
- 3:08:15being. They hate that.
- 3:08:16So much happy. Antidote to cat ladies is dads
- 3:08:23so. I'm.
- 3:08:25Sure this is kind of off topic, but what do?
- 3:08:27You think of that. Whatever.
- 3:08:28Podcast that that like is super clickbaity and and whatnot.
- 3:08:34Yeah, that, that. That's what I think is like At
- 3:08:37first they used to do, now they do Only fans, girls.
- 3:08:40Right. But at first they used to just
- 3:08:41pick up hoes at the club. And of course a bunch of hoes
- 3:08:45are going to say hoe is shit and be like and have these dumb and
- 3:08:50they're not picking. They pick, they cherry pick the
- 3:08:53women who are already stupid. And then and then people are
- 3:08:57like, well, they make them look stupid.
- 3:08:58No, they make themselves look stupid because they're stupid
- 3:09:03because these guys are picking on just stupid women.
- 3:09:06And I don't find it entertaining.
- 3:09:09Not, not. Neither do I.
- 3:09:11But everyone's like, Oh my God, Sam, you and you and Mac.
- 3:09:14Should review whatever videos and I'm like no we've got more
- 3:09:20important shit to like talk to an engineer about pussy smoke
- 3:09:25that was way more important that that would.
- 3:09:27Have that's actually way that's actually Andrew Tate had.
- 3:09:31Been made a statement I. Saw that I had some comments on
- 3:09:34he. Said that, if you ever.
- 3:09:36Have sex in any capacity without the direct possibility or intent
- 3:09:42of having a child that it's gay, which is a new one.
- 3:09:47And all I have to say is he focuses on what is gay a lot.
- 3:09:54And what he says is. Gay is usually like normal male
- 3:09:57behavior, and I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say
- 3:10:01Andrew Tate is a flaming homosexual.
- 3:10:05Well, yeah, a lot. Allegedly.
- 3:10:08A lot of these. A lot of.
- 3:10:09These. Well, a lot of these trad live.
- 3:10:13People. Are allegedly a homosexual, I've
- 3:10:17I've noticed. Look, man, look, man, because
- 3:10:20what he's saying, OK, is that after you're a certain.
- 3:10:24Age and you're married and all that.
- 3:10:26That having sex with your wife is gay and only a faggot would
- 3:10:31say that. That's my one.
- 3:10:33That's my one. I get to call Andrew Tate one,
- 3:10:37right? Right.
- 3:10:39Because he is. Well.
- 3:10:41Listen. You also like you could also
- 3:10:44take Andrew Tate on. Too.
- 3:10:46That, that's that's what I'm saying.
- 3:10:48I'm up for like let's go, let's have like an exhibition match
- 3:10:51sometime. I think that Faggot's.
- 3:10:53Ass. That's two.
- 3:10:54I'm sorry. No, no, you it's listen, it's
- 3:11:00that that that's actually. My favorite My wife is wagging.
- 3:11:03Her finger at me. But it's Andrew Tate though, And
- 3:11:06having sex. With your wife, if she's gone
- 3:11:10past, menopause makes you. Gay.
- 3:11:16He says that the only way to not.
- 3:11:17Be gay is to have sex with the explicit.
- 3:11:22Intent of procreation every single time, he said.
- 3:11:25Condoms are gay. Yeah, so I yeah.
- 3:11:31So I I think I dropped my. 2F bombs.
- 3:11:33That's like 2 the whole year though.
- 3:11:35What's What's it? I I've listen, I I say that word
- 3:11:40like multiple. Times in my daily life, I say it
- 3:11:45all the time. I've just been trying to be good
- 3:11:47on Roma. It's been so, yeah.
- 3:11:48Yeah. No, I I I I'm losing.
- 3:11:50My past because it's Andrew Tate.
- 3:11:55And. He's worse than Nick Fuentes at
- 3:11:57this point. Because he's a man who should
- 3:12:00know. Better.
- 3:12:02The other thing too is like all. These people.
- 3:12:06All these. I I I went on a little.
- 3:12:08I went on a little rant about. This.
- 3:12:11Earlier. This week, all these people who
- 3:12:13are getting upset about the about the conservative Dad Trad
- 3:12:19Wife beer calendar because they don't get it's a joke, do you
- 3:12:26even know? Do you know what I'm talking
- 3:12:28about? Or do I?
- 3:12:29Do I? Not entirely sure.
- 3:12:31Go ahead. OK, so so in.
- 3:12:36Response to. Bud Light going gay?
- 3:12:40There was this. Company that decided hey we'll
- 3:12:45make a we'll make like a a lager for conservatives and caught
- 3:12:51like ultra light conservative beer.
- 3:12:53Now that is a little cringe in of in of itself, granted, but
- 3:12:58that but they're self aware about it.
- 3:13:01And so just like Budweiser used to do like a or no it was
- 3:13:08Miller. Just like Miller used to do like
- 3:13:10a calendar with like swimsuit models having the beer like this
- 3:13:15company leaning into the self-awareness thing.
- 3:13:17That's the conservative women thing calendar I've been seeing.
- 3:13:21Look, yes, yes. And and it it's I bust on people
- 3:13:26for. Sipping, You know, I get on.
- 3:13:29You I got on Morpheus. I get on your boys there.
- 3:13:32I get on everybody's Jimmy. Shout out to Jimmy, by the way.
- 3:13:35He's great. You should follow him on
- 3:13:37Twitter. What is it?
- 3:13:37Jimmy 81, I believe. Yeah.
- 3:13:42Good dude. Yeah, I I I must on y'all for
- 3:13:47simping. OK.
- 3:13:48But like. The idea.
- 3:13:50Of a fucking calendar with girls and maybe not all clothed
- 3:13:56perfectly to the the wearing burkas, if if that.
- 3:14:00Bothers you. You're 1.
- 3:14:01Of those things I said twice, well, well part of well part of
- 3:14:05though too is it's it's a it's a joke too like they're.
- 3:14:10They're kind of like, OK, but Alex Stein, you know, joking
- 3:14:14about being a drag queen by actually.
- 3:14:16Being a drag. Queen in front of children is
- 3:14:18not really. You know what I'm saying?
- 3:14:20Yeah, well, I yeah, I I get your point.
- 3:14:23But it it's not, it becomes the point where you're not.
- 3:14:26Joking. You're just doing the thing, and
- 3:14:29their calendar is just them. Doing the thing.
- 3:14:34They should just embrace that. They shouldn't be bothered by
- 3:14:36it, they. Should like honestly.
- 3:14:38Yeah, this is what I mean. Like like.
- 3:14:40I get the. I get the moralized side of it
- 3:14:43to some degree of. Of.
- 3:14:44Conservatism. But they have to understand that
- 3:14:47moving forward, Millennial and beyond Kid Rock conservatism is
- 3:14:52a block and it's a large voting block.
- 3:14:55And it's a voting block, but it's the working.
- 3:14:57It's the working and underclass. And if you win them over, you'll
- 3:15:00have them for generations to come.
- 3:15:04Yeah, and they like a titty. Calendar sometimes and that's OK
- 3:15:11and. It, and that's what I'm saying,
- 3:15:14Like I'm wagging my finger at motherfuckers from a moralized.
- 3:15:18Theological. Philosophical point of view,
- 3:15:21right? But it absolutely shouldn't be
- 3:15:24like, oh, you can't look at a titty calendar like go fuck
- 3:15:27yourself. It it's it's not a it's a
- 3:15:30decision whether you want to be moral or not.
- 3:15:33It's not even it's. Not even that though, like.
- 3:15:36This there. What are there a little?
- 3:15:39There a little there are there are actual pictures, like women
- 3:15:45baking. Pies in this cow.
- 3:15:48Calendar though, like it is, it is funny and the fact that like
- 3:15:53the fact that like the moralizing right is like upset
- 3:15:56about that, like come on, I don't know.
- 3:16:06It's OK to have fun, Yeah. What a.
- 3:16:12Moderation in all things. Is usually key.
- 3:16:19Morpheus says. I'd want some sort of graphic.
- 3:16:22Along with the hashtag on the front.
- 3:16:24Oh, he's referring to pussies. Oh, we need a pussy smoke
- 3:16:30graphic, huh? Maybe a cat on fire?
- 3:16:37Yeah, yeah. There we.
- 3:16:38Go over, overlord on. Fire from Morpheus.
- 3:16:42So just the tail, just the tails on fire, yeah.
- 3:16:49I don't know. We'll figure it.
- 3:16:50Out Where's the spit balling? But no the cat.
- 3:16:55Should be calm. My wife asked if the cat is.
- 3:16:56Calm or freaking? Out.
- 3:16:58I think the cat should be calm. Pussy smoke shouldn't scare you.
- 3:17:02Actually, it should, because it kill you.
- 3:17:04We decided that Craig already got into that.
- 3:17:06OK? It should terrify you.
- 3:17:08Actually, the cat's going to be absolutely freaking out having a
- 3:17:12goddamn panic attack because he's about to get fucked.
- 3:17:16By by the way. Subscribe to the fake Untitled.
- 3:17:19Podcast. I'm.
- 3:17:21I'm addicted to that thing. Fucked to death.
- 3:17:27Sorry, I just had to repeat that really.
- 3:17:30Loudly for some. Reason.
- 3:17:33That. That's good.
- 3:17:33That's going. To be an isolated.
- 3:17:35Sound by now I know I should. You you saying that so?
- 3:17:42If you're not careful, you're going.
- 3:17:44To get fucked to death. There's a clip for you.
- 3:17:48You're welcome. Chat SO.
- 3:17:56I embarrassed my wife. Oh, what?
- 3:17:59011 other thing. Is.
- 3:18:03Game of the Year. Max, I think you already kind of
- 3:18:06revealed what yours is. Is it still Dave?
- 3:18:09The diver That's tough Game of the Year?
- 3:18:15World of Warcraft. Classic season of.
- 3:18:17Discovery Dave the Diver is the 2nd place runner up.
- 3:18:20OK, fair enough I would say for mine.
- 3:18:24RoboCop. That's a contender, for sure.
- 3:18:29RoboCop is my game of the year and and and I.
- 3:18:32Bet you going into this. Year.
- 3:18:34You thought Spider Man 2 would tower above that?
- 3:18:37RoboCop was like a second tier thought, right?
- 3:18:41I mean, I mean, I knew RoboCop was.
- 3:18:43I knew RoboCop was going to be good.
- 3:18:45But yeah, I I did. Think that it was going to, but
- 3:18:49no. RoboCop, actually.
- 3:18:50They nailed the atmosphere and aesthetic.
- 3:18:53I got to give them total credit and it's a it's.
- 3:18:55A more budget than most AAA games, yeah, and they had his
- 3:19:03real voice too. Yeah.
- 3:19:05Which? You know is.
- 3:19:07Is amazing the HUD, everything. The way he moves, you know, I
- 3:19:13usually complain about slow movement.
- 3:19:15In first person shooters, 'cause that's a modern trope, but he's
- 3:19:18fucking RoboCop, so it feels right.
- 3:19:21Yeah, yeah. And the and.
- 3:19:26I mean the there's deeper button to Sprint, but like who would
- 3:19:30use it 'cause you're RoboCop? Well, I mean.
- 3:19:35You use it to like dodge out of the way of grenades.
- 3:19:38And whatnot. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:19:39But it's not like you're not going to, you're not going to
- 3:19:42run all the time because. It's more fun to just be like,
- 3:19:49yeah, no doubt, yeah, it's. It's awesome World Warcraft
- 3:19:54season of. Discovery The reason I.
- 3:19:56Give the nod to. That OK is because it's sort of
- 3:19:59a hard. Reboot for Blizzard it this is
- 3:20:02the first time. In a very long time, they've
- 3:20:04listened to their fan base or given them anything.
- 3:20:06Interesting. Or fun or unique, like
- 3:20:11everything they put out is, by the numbers, Overwatch.
- 3:20:13It's just it's there. Diablo 4.
- 3:20:16It's just. There or bad.
- 3:20:18But I I don't think it's bad. I think people just played
- 3:20:21through everything there was and it wasn't like, Oh my God, this
- 3:20:23is the best game ever. Like I thought it was going to
- 3:20:25be. Yeah, he's been a discovery.
- 3:20:28If you're a Warcraft guy, is that they've they took the
- 3:20:32original game. For the.
- 3:20:33For those who don't understand the premise, it's the original
- 3:20:372004 version of the game up to level 25.
- 3:20:41And they. Added in a whole bunch of new
- 3:20:43spells and abilities that you find in the world.
- 3:20:47And the problem with a lot of MMM OS OK, especially old ones
- 3:20:51like that, is we know where everything is.
- 3:20:53We know how to beat everything. We know how to do everything.
- 3:20:56And so they added in that element of finding it all again,
- 3:21:02communally. There was no beta.
- 3:21:03Tests. They just.
- 3:21:05Launched it and we found shit and yeah.
- 3:21:07Some things were. Broken or whatever.
- 3:21:10And then at the end at level 25 normally goes up to level 60,
- 3:21:14but at level 25 they added a raid in a new PvP event that are
- 3:21:19just for this new version of the game.
- 3:21:21So it's a it's a old dungeon that they've now made into A10
- 3:21:25player hard raid that you can do at level. 20.
- 3:21:28Five and get new gear that wasn't in the game, and then
- 3:21:31they're going to raise the level cap to 40 and 50 and 60.
- 3:21:36And then we're not only going to get new raids with each one of
- 3:21:39those, but at the end when all the regular raids from vanilla
- 3:21:42World of Warcraft would be, we're going to get more than
- 3:21:46two. So basically they're taking.
- 3:21:49It in a completely. Different direction, but using
- 3:21:52the original game mechanics that a lot of people liked.
- 3:21:55And the reason that Classic was a thing in the 1st place was
- 3:21:57people wanted to return to old World of Warcraft.
- 3:22:02Yeah, and. Microsoft came in.
- 3:22:07And told. Blizzard.
- 3:22:10Stop being combative with the fans.
- 3:22:12That was one of the bullet points of the meeting.
- 3:22:14Another one was to de. Emphasize their woke agenda and
- 3:22:19another one was they separated the three technically.
- 3:22:21Now the three bits of Activision Blizzard, King Abk are going to
- 3:22:26split again and all be separate subsidiaries of Microsoft.
- 3:22:31And so now Blizzard and Bobby Kotick is going to be gone at
- 3:22:34the end of the year. If you weren't aware the CEO of
- 3:22:36Activision, Microsoft is putting it's it's funny because it took
- 3:22:43being bought. By a bigger.
- 3:22:45Company to set Blizzard free again.
- 3:22:50Yeah, I'm hopeful for the future, but also I played the
- 3:22:54shit. Out of that, granted, it came
- 3:22:56out on November. 30th but yet it still ends up my game of the
- 3:23:00year. We'll see if it continues
- 3:23:02because again, we only got the first part.
- 3:23:05We haven't gotten to the level 40 and beyond yet, so maybe they
- 3:23:08fucked the whole thing up. But as a project, the reason is
- 3:23:11good is a lot of time. Problems with World of Warcraft
- 3:23:14for people is it takes a long time to level up.
- 3:23:17At level 25 you get to in about 8 hours.
- 3:23:20Well, well, what? Well, it's just like a normal
- 3:23:23action game. Length You You know what I mean.
- 3:23:28And. Then there's some stuff for you
- 3:23:29to do at the end game. And that's why I've made a bunch
- 3:23:33of different. Characters and and leveling
- 3:23:35them. I haven't been playing for the
- 3:23:37last week because I was playing a whole bunch of indie games and
- 3:23:40stuff and doing Christmas and but yeah, that's it.
- 3:23:45Dave. The diver, though, if you if you
- 3:23:47know, because not everybody's going.
- 3:23:48To enjoy world of. Warcraft.
- 3:23:50Period. So for my recommended game of
- 3:23:53the year for most people who don't like Wow, Dave the Diver,
- 3:23:56RoboCop is up there as well, yeah.
- 3:24:06Also in gaming news. I meant to cover this last week,
- 3:24:09but we, you know, we covered so much I didn't get the chance.
- 3:24:14Oh, rest. One more honorable mention.
- 3:24:17Metal health singer. OK, go on.
- 3:24:21Very good. Rest in peace to.
- 3:24:25James McCaffrey, the voice of Max Payne.
- 3:24:30Anyone who knows me knows that Max Payne is one of, if not my
- 3:24:34all time favorite game series. And as most you know, I'm
- 3:24:42anxiously awaiting the the remake.
- 3:24:47This does beg the question though, who is going to be Max
- 3:24:53Payne? Yeah.
- 3:24:54Or they original. Vocal.
- 3:24:57Files or Yeah, I mean from what I've heard and this is just
- 3:25:03speculation. I had heard that they were.
- 3:25:07Going that they had like started to rerecord some of the dialogue
- 3:25:11like with him, like the game was already the remake was already
- 3:25:16in production with him doing like recreating his voice lines.
- 3:25:22But now they may have to use the old files.
- 3:25:27Now this voice is just so iconic to that game and role, and also
- 3:25:34so. Unique.
- 3:25:36Yeah. It'll be the final project.
- 3:25:40You're you're right about that. I mean.
- 3:25:43I don't. I.
- 3:25:44Don't. I don't think it would be right
- 3:25:46for them to use. Someone else as Max.
- 3:25:53Yeah, yeah, that's a tough. That's tough shoes to fill
- 3:25:56either way. I just don't get hopeful for
- 3:26:01remakes, unless it's. Night Dive Studios.
- 3:26:05I don't. I don't get helpful for them
- 3:26:08either, but it. I don't get helpful for them
- 3:26:11either. But it seems like they really
- 3:26:12are like they're doing like a whole thing other than just like
- 3:26:17upscaling them. So.
- 3:26:22Yeah, we got the game in your. Game of the Year is.
- 3:26:25RoboCop, huh? I actually didn't expect that.
- 3:26:30Yeah, it's not. It's not gay spider man.
- 3:26:35Alan Alan Wake Two I I I haven't finished it but I I do like
- 3:26:41Speaking of James McCaffrey yeah that's like 2 is that's like
- 3:26:47epic game store game. So it didn't come out this year
- 3:26:50to me. Oh, I I epic game store gets
- 3:26:56exclusives. On PCI know you.
- 3:26:58You're a fucking console guy. So whatever.
- 3:27:01And we don't buy anything on Epic.
- 3:27:04So like if it comes out exclusively on Epic, PC gamers
- 3:27:07will be like that came out. Not kidding.
- 3:27:11Oh, I oh, I I get it. It's not a joke either.
- 3:27:14They just. Don't know.
- 3:27:15No one uses. The Epic Game.
- 3:27:17Store so a game can be out for like a whole.
- 3:27:19Year on there and when they come to Steam and people be like, Oh
- 3:27:23yeah, that finally came out awesome like PC.
- 3:27:26Gamers just. Unless you're a Fortnite guy.
- 3:27:29If you're a Fortnite guy, you'll use the Epic Game Store.
- 3:27:32But for anybody, they don't. Everybody just uses Steam.
- 3:27:38Got you? Got a bunch of indie Co-op
- 3:27:41games? I'll probably shout out some of
- 3:27:43them. My wife's friend gave me a $50
- 3:27:47Steam gift card and so I just got all games that we could
- 3:27:50play, mostly Co-op games that we I could play with her on the
- 3:27:54steam deck in my computer. Nice.
- 3:27:59What? Very nice.
- 3:28:01Oh. She really liked the game Alt F.
- 3:28:03Four It's. A.
- 3:28:06Comedy sandbox platform game that's like made to be super
- 3:28:12duper hard and hilarious. Yeah I've I've I've heard that's
- 3:28:16actually a good one. So.
- 3:28:19But. Otherwise, I had a whole bunch
- 3:28:22of them that I'm going to try out and.
- 3:28:24You know. Find some there.
- 3:28:25Is one that I think is awesome and it's on sale.
- 3:28:29If anybody's you know, interested in this kind of
- 3:28:32stupidity that I can even shout out.
- 3:28:33It's not game of the year or nothing, but it's called
- 3:28:37Infected Shelter and what it is is a 2D beat em up style like
- 3:28:45the old Ninja Turtle games or something zombie.
- 3:28:48Survival. Rogue Light.
- 3:28:50And I know that's a mouthful, but what it has is instead of it
- 3:28:54being a 2D beat em up, it's a 2D over the top.
- 3:28:59Shoot em up and there's wicked gore and executions and you're
- 3:29:04using like rocket launchers and and shotguns.
- 3:29:08And I don't mean just like in some beat em up games, you'll
- 3:29:11pick up a gun and you have three shots and then it's dead.
- 3:29:14This game, you're picking up a gun, blown away, 50 zombies with
- 3:29:18it before it fucking runs out of ammo, and then you pick up a
- 3:29:20Catana blade and cut three of them in half.
- 3:29:23It's a it's a blast. Sounds fun, ultraviolent.
- 3:29:29It's got like a cartoony. Art style though, so if you're
- 3:29:32not into. Ultraviolence.
- 3:29:34It's still. Not that.
- 3:29:35Bad. I like me some ultraviolence in
- 3:29:38video games, though. Yeah.
- 3:29:42I don't know about you, Sam, but if I get a shotgun, that.
- 3:29:45Doesn't really jib somebody I feel.
- 3:29:47Ripped off? Oh.
- 3:29:49I oh, I love. I love Ultraviolence in games.
- 3:29:52That's why I love RoboCop. Is like.
- 3:29:55Yeah, it's that's the best ultraviolence in a game of the
- 3:30:00year. I would say if I.
- 3:30:01If I could pick a subcategory. Of like the game with the most
- 3:30:05satisfying violence, That's RoboCop.
- 3:30:07There's not even anything. Yeah, you.
- 3:30:11I I love that. I love that you can like, yeah,
- 3:30:14See. I Ivan.
- 3:30:15Gave a thumbs up. Yeah, man.
- 3:30:21Yeah, you can like cap a guy he, you know.
- 3:30:24That one? That animation's crazy.
- 3:30:26You shoot. A guy in the Dick.
- 3:30:27Don't shoot, guys. In the Dick, but well, shoot a
- 3:30:30guy in the Dick. In RoboCop.
- 3:30:32I'm, I'm not even going to spoil it.
- 3:30:34But it's a good. You should do that and.
- 3:30:36It is it, is it. It's it's hilarious.
- 3:30:40It's even more hilarious when you don't try.
- 3:30:42To do it either, the best is when you shoot them in the Dick
- 3:30:46and then immediately shoot them in the head.
- 3:30:49So they go and they grab your Dick and you just blow their
- 3:30:52fucking head clean off with that fucking the pistol there.
- 3:30:56Yeah, you might. You really don't need any other
- 3:31:01gun in. In the game, although it does,
- 3:31:03it does help to have. Once you start upgrading that
- 3:31:08pistol, it is by far nothing else is even.
- 3:31:12Close, yeah, once you figure out how to use the little circuit
- 3:31:17board. Thing.
- 3:31:19So. But what do we got?
- 3:31:23Anything else? We've been at this for a while.
- 3:31:25It was a good show. Come back sometime.
- 3:31:30Yeah. Well, yeah, well, Luke should
- 3:31:32come back. So.
- 3:31:34And. And I mean, I've known him for
- 3:31:37close to 25 years at this point. So glad to know you approve of
- 3:31:42them. So yeah, shout out to him.
- 3:31:47Thanks Luke for coming on. Max, any final thoughts for the?
- 3:31:53Year. Speaking of things, thanks for
- 3:31:56filling the Apex Ward. Yeah, we're going to have him
- 3:32:00come back on sooner or later, like you haven't catch up every
- 3:32:05couple. Months, you know?
- 3:32:06Yeah, yeah. Well, people, people miss them
- 3:32:10too, so. Well, he's as much a part of the
- 3:32:13show as I am, in my opinion, You know?
- 3:32:16Yeah. No, I agree.
- 3:32:20It's been a It's been a good. Year We've had a lot of fun.
- 3:32:23Final thoughts for the year. Hashtag pussy smoke T-shirts
- 3:32:28coming soon. Final.
- 3:32:32My final thoughts for the year is.
- 3:32:36I I think 2024 is actually going to be a great year.
- 3:32:39I and we're going to take everyone on it, says it on the
- 3:32:43sign right. We're taking America back.
- 3:32:45Get in, take America back. Everyone.
- 3:32:48Everyone is Everyone is getting all black pill.
- 3:32:51Talking. Oh, there's going to be a Black
- 3:32:53Swan event in 2024. No, we're going to take, we're
- 3:32:57going to take America black back.
- 3:32:59There's going to be a white swan event, if anything.
- 3:33:05So don't be, don't be black pilled.
- 3:33:08Be optimism. Pilled.
- 3:33:09That's what I am. I'm I'm optimism pilled, those
- 3:33:13same people. And if Trump wins, those same
- 3:33:16people are going to be like, fuck Trump.
- 3:33:18So it's it's. What I the the contrarians going
- 3:33:21to contrary. You know, and we just need to.
- 3:33:24Like, ignore it and and and treat them the like what they
- 3:33:29are. Cringe.
- 3:33:31Yep. Get back on Reddit with that gay
- 3:33:34black pill shit. Yep, that's where it belongs.
- 3:33:41But. Anyway, folks.
- 3:33:43Thank you for making black pill. Is feminine.
- 3:33:47You're a woman if you do that. Very true and finally, folks.
- 3:33:55I want to thank you, the audience, for tuning into the
- 3:33:59show as I as I posted yesterday. The most important thing I
- 3:34:04learned from Rush Limbaugh is audience appreciation.
- 3:34:08And we really do love the audience here folks.
- 3:34:11That's why we read every chat, mostly even the ones that not
- 3:34:18even close. Tonight we read.
- 3:34:21We read some. Periodically.
- 3:34:25But we But to be fair, why we read every chat.
- 3:34:30Well. We.
- 3:34:31We. We.
- 3:34:31We. We at least.
- 3:34:33Intend. To Mostly that's true.
- 3:34:38You know, sometimes I remember and I.
- 3:34:41Make a. Big deal about it like I did
- 3:34:42tonight and then only read like. 3.
- 3:34:45Yeah. So.
- 3:34:52But the point is. Is like we actually, generally,
- 3:34:56we actually do appreciate it. It's just, you know, we're not
- 3:34:59as on point as you wanted to. Fucking exclaim, is all I.
- 3:35:03Go ahead. I just had to make that one
- 3:35:05correction for the that that is fair but but one thing we can
- 3:35:10say. Is that when we say thank you
- 3:35:13for listening to the? Show or.
- 3:35:14Watching or tuning in, we really do generally mean that.
- 3:35:21You know that there are a lot of shows that just want your PayPal
- 3:35:27box and your donors and we just want your likes.
- 3:35:32And I'm still tripped out. Y'all are here listening to us
- 3:35:35at all, man. Yeah.
- 3:35:39Yeah, so get something valuable out of.
- 3:35:42It if it's only entertainment that's that's good enough for
- 3:35:45me. Yeah, same here.
- 3:35:49I mean the amount of people who have.
- 3:35:52Said that, this show actually, like, helps them get through the
- 3:35:54day. That's like flattering, as helps
- 3:35:59me. So, you know, it helps me get
- 3:36:04through the day sometimes, 'cause I'm like, Oh yeah, I got
- 3:36:06a whole bunch. Of jokes.
- 3:36:08We. I was sitting there just before
- 3:36:11we, just before I went in the call.
- 3:36:13Here's a little inside baseball. For you.
- 3:36:16And I turned to my wife and I say, oh shit, I had a bunch of
- 3:36:20stuff I wanted to talk about and she's.
- 3:36:22And I was like, I even told you I want to talk about that on the
- 3:36:25show. Do you remember what I said?
- 3:36:26And she's like, Nope and I was like me either I should have
- 3:36:29wrote that shit down. Well, that is one other thing
- 3:36:32too, is I I did want to talk. About the merch sale.
- 3:36:36Stuff. Though because I wanted to.
- 3:36:38Kind of point out that. Like the merch sale Sounds great
- 3:36:43on the surface, but there's a whole bunch of like, underlying.
- 3:36:46Complications. I want to be the best way to
- 3:36:50support the show, but often times because of those
- 3:36:53complications. Even though it's the best.
- 3:36:55Time to support a best way to support a creator directly.
- 3:36:59It still sucks, you know? It's a it's it's a shitty all
- 3:37:04around. And that's one of the things
- 3:37:06I've been working on is. Like.
- 3:37:08I've looked at like 5 or 6 different distributors and
- 3:37:12looking at the prices and I'm just like, I don't know if I
- 3:37:14want to put that on our audience, You know, yeah, we'll
- 3:37:18see. Maybe we'll do both.
- 3:37:21Maybe we'll do a design on a. Cheap one and a design.
- 3:37:23On an expensive one and. Then have two.
- 3:37:25Distributors and just see race well, well that that's what
- 3:37:33that's what Mr. Medicare. Did I?
- 3:37:35Think so. And also it's tough to have a
- 3:37:42distributor that gives you. Like a level?
- 3:37:44Of creative freedom, too. Yeah, yeah, well that well
- 3:37:48that's thing is like teespring like said.
- 3:37:51My logo was. Copyrighted even though it was,
- 3:37:54like original so or or like they'll decide your political
- 3:38:02slogan isn't. OK.
- 3:38:03And that's something we. Might, might or might not run up
- 3:38:06against and that's true of a lot of distributors.
- 3:38:09It's just man, it's been a nightmare and that's why I I do
- 3:38:12have to apologize. There should have been merch
- 3:38:14this year. There will be Q1.
- 3:38:17I I can't promise before winter is out.
- 3:38:21But I can I? Can guarantee Q1 and maybe,
- 3:38:25yeah, the Pussy Smoke T-shirt will have to be the first one,
- 3:38:28won't it? And then we'll do a non.
- 3:38:29Offensive one next to it. Or at least not.
- 3:38:33Well there. There's one thing I can
- 3:38:36guarantee, which is that in Q. One there will be.
- 3:38:38The sequel? To shadows of deception.
- 3:38:42So that's why we need the T-shirts by Q1, right?
- 3:38:45Maybe we can put the Shadows of Deception T-shirt.
- 3:38:48In there. Another.
- 3:38:51Another guarantee. That I can at least try and make
- 3:38:54is. I will actually.
- 3:38:55Be writing out show notes beforehand so that we can prep.
- 3:39:01I'll try and do better about show prep.
- 3:39:04Whether or not we actually do better show prep, I I vow to do
- 3:39:10worse at it because it seems like the less prep I do, the
- 3:39:13better. The episode ends up that's
- 3:39:17actually unironically true. Sometimes so.
- 3:39:22I I vow audience to prep as little as possible in terms of.
- 3:39:28Looking into political events or news, I'm only going to vaguely
- 3:39:33browse Twitter. That's You know what?
- 3:39:39That's pretty much what I do. Now actually for show.
- 3:39:42Prep so you know what scratched out.
- 3:39:47We'll just keep on doing what we're.
- 3:39:48Doing and we'll try, not we. Just need to learn to take more
- 3:39:53notes or use the bookmarks. You know the.
- 3:39:56Bookmarks kind of work good on Twitter.
- 3:39:59Yeah. Or you.
- 3:40:00Or audience use the time stamps that I do.
- 3:40:05On each episode, if you're listening on Spotify, if you
- 3:40:09want to jump to the to a certain section and anything, you want
- 3:40:17Sam. To talk about.
- 3:40:18Particularly anything that makes him uncomfortable.
- 3:40:20Make sure you at me on Twitter, and especially if you know it's
- 3:40:26going to make Sam have like the face he kind of has now there,
- 3:40:29you know what I mean? She's like, Oh no, if you like
- 3:40:33that kind of stuff, you got to anything like that.
- 3:40:36You got to tweet at me. I'll bring it to the show
- 3:40:39myself, you know, cut out the middleman more.
- 3:40:43More. Morpheus, if Morpheus is
- 3:40:45scheming already. He's like I got him in now I I I
- 3:40:53can. I can.
- 3:40:53See. Morpheus and.
- 3:40:57And Jimmy, who's like, I'm only into New Jersey politics, but
- 3:41:01really I just, I I just like to troll everybody.
- 3:41:07Yeah, New Jersey politics is a fucking headache and a half.
- 3:41:12And then it. I think if you had to deal with
- 3:41:14New Jersey politics, it would be hard to deal with anything else
- 3:41:18because you're just pulling your hair out.
- 3:41:20Yeah, yeah, that. Yeah, that's true.
- 3:41:26So. Anyway.
- 3:41:28Folks, we thank you for tuning. Into into the show.
- 3:41:31We hope you have a good, you know, New Year's Eve, New Year.
- 3:41:36And you know, let me actually see Will will will the next show
- 3:41:42be on the 1st no the 1st. Is Friday it actually.
- 3:41:47Will be or Sunday, right? No, no, the first of the year.
- 3:41:53Is on Monday. I think oh.
- 3:41:57So yeah, we will see you next year, ladies and gentlemen, the
- 3:42:00year that we take. America.
- 3:42:03Back Boom. All right, folks.
- 3:42:08Have a good night. And we'll see you on.
- 3:42:12January. First, I guessed.
- 3:42:14Morpheus said Sam likes the strange.
- 3:42:16I want to end with that note. Go ahead, Sam.
- 3:42:21All right. See you January 1st, folks, for.
- 3:42:25Whitfield, Monday. More is partially right and I'll
- 3:42:31leave it at that. Happy New Year folks.
