- 0:03Speaker 1: Stars millions, a missage to the main.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Seasons coming up. Hell, I live a change.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Here's your host, Alex Scart.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Well there you go, written in the stars. So I'm
- 0:27Speaker 1: in Apple today. Welcome inside to the Alex Scare podcast Network.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm in Apple today getting a new pair of headphones
- 0:33Speaker 1: because something said I needed to go to this Apple store.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And I dropped my email for the receipt of the
- 0:40Speaker 1: headphones and sure enough, the nice lady there at the
- 0:44Speaker 1: Apple genius bar Raurza. I hope I'm saying that right,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Rorsa says, oh, you have a business. I said, yes,
- 0:51Speaker 1: I have a podcast, the One Leg Up with Alex
- 0:54Speaker 1: Scare podcast One Leg Up Network show her the on
- 0:59Speaker 1: spot this show, and I noticed that this show is
- 1:05Speaker 1: officially a five star podcast. I don't care if it
- 1:09Speaker 1: was one person, but this show is officially a five
- 1:13Speaker 1: star rating. We have spent fifteen years getting to this
- 1:18Speaker 1: point and now with thanks to so many people, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: you can find out who I mentioned on Alex jenoic
- 1:24Speaker 1: one Instagram thanks to so many people. Just before celebrating
- 1:30Speaker 1: fifteen years in next month of this media journey, this show,
- 1:36Speaker 1: at least for a day is a five star podcast.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I of course want to thank all the guests have
- 1:43Speaker 1: been on the kindness of you know, Jake Kosak and
- 1:45Speaker 1: the Bronx Zoo and Justin Deime Baseball who just had
- 1:48Speaker 1: me up at the Osweldo Caberra Baseball camp. I want
- 1:51Speaker 1: to of course thank my mom and my stepdad Vic
- 1:54Speaker 1: and of course my dad who was there when this
- 1:57Speaker 1: whole thing launched fifteen years ago and before, and he'd
- 2:01Speaker 1: be there when I was being mentor by Bob Wolfe
- 2:04Speaker 1: every Saturday. Bruce Beck and Legori Markarne all were there
- 2:09Speaker 1: for the launch of this podcasting journey in two thousand
- 2:14Speaker 1: and nine. Of course, Gabby now gets to sit through
- 2:18Speaker 1: and she's like my executive producer in life. She sits
- 2:21Speaker 1: through every podcast I basically do. So thanks Babe for
- 2:23Speaker 1: doing that. Love you for that. And all the folks
- 2:29Speaker 1: I met along the way, whether it's Nithan or Madison
- 2:32Speaker 1: Eisen or even jess Mate we just had him on
- 2:35Speaker 1: talking about the Giants and even going all the way
- 2:39Speaker 1: back from Viscardi and Queen's College, Keenan Addie, Matt, Danny Boyce,
- 2:47Speaker 1: Max Max, I miss you man. How about Asher always
- 2:52Speaker 1: and Andrew Damasters just a few names to thank on
- 2:57Speaker 1: this very special announcement that we are a five star show.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So cool to say that this podcast is growing. We
- 3:06Speaker 1: are a five star rated show. Thanks Lucas for shouting
- 3:09Speaker 1: us out on AM nine seventy The Answer Now with
- 3:12Speaker 1: that noted.
- 3:13Speaker 3: In addition to my celebrity co host Mert Roberts, the
- 3:17Speaker 3: one and only who regularly appears on newsbacks and other
- 3:21Speaker 3: media outlets, and along with our most diligent and gracious
- 3:25Speaker 3: engineer and producer Alex Garrett, who has a great podcast,
- 3:29Speaker 3: Pathway One Leg Up with Alex Garrett.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Give it a listen.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Please, and I tell you how much we're growing. It
- 3:36Speaker 1: seems like almost every other week or so, maybe a
- 3:39Speaker 1: month or so, I'm meeting someone who's an amputee. I
- 3:43Speaker 1: got to meet this guy named Jp at the LR.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He actually is missing his left and the leg has
- 3:48Speaker 1: a prosthetic. And the way you grow the One Leg
- 3:52Speaker 1: Up network is just continue to talk to people of
- 3:55Speaker 1: all kinds of abilities, whether it's amputees, whether it's people blind,
- 4:00Speaker 1: whether it's people we're deaf, just keep talking to them
- 4:03Speaker 1: and getting to know them. People with CEP, people at
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Paralympics, there are so many stories out there. That's
- 4:09Speaker 1: how we're gonna grow this network. And the boldness to, like,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, say hey, let's get a picture. Jplan said,
- 4:14Speaker 1: why not? It helps grow this podcast. So I'm appreciative
- 4:18Speaker 1: to JP for letting me talk his zero off for
- 4:21Speaker 1: a bit and get to know him a little more
- 4:22Speaker 1: and hopefully he could share his story on the One
- 4:25Speaker 1: Leg Up Network. I also want to thank Graham Gonno
- 4:28Speaker 1: because you know that kicker for the Giants is on
- 4:31Speaker 1: the injured reserve, but he left a pretty hefty endorsement
- 4:36Speaker 1: on my on X formerly Twitter back in twenty twenty
- 4:40Speaker 1: three after I made that field goal at MetLife Stadium,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and you can find out that endorsement on Alex g
- 4:47Speaker 1: NYC one both Instagram and Twitter and X. I don't
- 4:51Speaker 1: want thank Graham for his endorsement of my kicking skills.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Pretty damn cool. I'll tell you what he wrote.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I love this.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That's one of the most impressive kicks were seen. Well done.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Check this out Sports Center. That's Graham Gonno right there
- 5:05Speaker 1: talking about my kick at MetLife Stadium. Pretty damn cool.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And if you ever need a kicker from the two
- 5:12Speaker 1: yard line, I'm your guy. Right, maybe maybe maybe. So
- 5:16Speaker 1: that being said, another man and another person that has
- 5:20Speaker 1: really helped grow this podcast is on my line, Lou Terminello.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's Terminello's take. First of all, thank you to this
- 5:30Speaker 1: incredible moment where we can celebrate this show being a
- 5:34Speaker 1: five star podcast. You're a big part of it. But Lou,
- 5:37Speaker 1: let's talk about what happened in week two in the NFL.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm looking at the Giants disaster to start out, and
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, the Giants have been there, They've been zero
- 5:48Speaker 1: to two before, but they didn't have the kicker crisis
- 5:51Speaker 1: that they have right now. And I don't know, missing
- 5:55Speaker 1: Graham Gonno is going to be a huge miss. I
- 5:57Speaker 1: never thought a kicker would play this much of a role,
- 5:59Speaker 1: but he has.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Well. Alex, thanks for having me as always, And I
- 6:04Speaker 2: could tell you the one thing about the NFL, you
- 6:07Speaker 2: never know what's going to happen before you go, and
- 6:11Speaker 2: we will. It just changes week to week for so
- 6:14Speaker 2: many different reasons, more so than any other sport. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 2: that was the reason the Giants probably didn't win the
- 6:21Speaker 2: game on Sunday because they weren't prepared with a backup kicker.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Now that being said, while Brian Dabele is getting killed
- 6:32Speaker 2: by the media. I am sure that Brian Dables spoke
- 6:36Speaker 2: to his medical team, the Giants medical team, and I'm
- 6:40Speaker 2: sure he spoke to Joe Shane, the general manager, and
- 6:43Speaker 2: to Canoe and Gano and Fia said he could play.
- 6:48Speaker 2: He could play. Now. Of course, the Giants special teams,
- 6:52Speaker 2: you know, giving up that long touchdown on the opening
- 6:54Speaker 2: kickoff which was called back that came into play. But
- 7:01Speaker 2: the Giants should have been more prepared. They should have
- 7:03Speaker 2: activated the kid from Rutgers. You know about eleven o'clock
- 7:07Speaker 2: when you have to make that decision, which I think
- 7:09Speaker 2: is two hours before the game or ninety minutes before kickoff,
- 7:12Speaker 2: you have to submit the final roster. So yeah, that
- 7:15Speaker 2: was a mix. That's not That's one of the reasons
- 7:19Speaker 2: why the Giants lost the game. The strongest part of
- 7:22Speaker 2: the Giant team their front their front line was absolutely
- 7:26Speaker 2: devastated for two hundred and fifteen yards rushing by the Commanders,
- 7:31Speaker 2: and they held the ball for thirty seven minutes and
- 7:34Speaker 2: twenty two seconds. You can't win games that way. And
- 7:38Speaker 2: it looks like Daniel Jones. You can't put pin the
- 7:41Speaker 2: blame on in this week as everybody was last week.
- 7:44Speaker 2: He was effective. He ran below it is the end.
- 7:46Speaker 1: He is a good short short game quarterback. He can
- 7:50Speaker 1: throw the shortball alone better than the long ball. I
- 7:53Speaker 1: might be wrong on my analyedgis there, but that's what
- 7:55Speaker 1: it looked like Sunday.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Well, he has a good arm. They targeted elite neighbors
- 8:01Speaker 2: eighteen times. Wow, and he got had ten completions. Yes,
- 8:08Speaker 2: he dropped the ball that would have probably won the
- 8:12Speaker 2: game for them. It was right there. He shouldn't have
- 8:15Speaker 2: dropped it. He's too good a receiver, even though it
- 8:17Speaker 2: was only his second NFL game. But that happens. And
- 8:23Speaker 2: as we said before the season began, when we're talking
- 8:25Speaker 2: about coaches hot seats, Robert Sala, Nick Sirianni, you know
- 8:33Speaker 2: we said that the Babels seat was warm. Well it's
- 8:37Speaker 2: going to get warmer as the season goes on. And
- 8:42Speaker 2: like I said, they got run on for two hundred
- 8:44Speaker 2: and fifteen yards and they couldn't get off the field
- 8:47Speaker 2: defensively because if Jones had another five or six minutes,
- 8:52Speaker 2: maybe the Giants was caed a touchdown. But they have
- 8:56Speaker 2: to be more cognizant of when you have a slightly
- 9:00Speaker 2: ed kicker. You have to have the backup, backup ready,
- 9:06Speaker 2: even if you have to sacrifice a running back, a
- 9:08Speaker 2: lineman or somebody off special teams. So that was a
- 9:12Speaker 2: mistake as far as that preparation of the roster goes.
- 9:18Speaker 2: But there was a lot of reasons why they lost
- 9:21Speaker 2: the game to a Washington team that I don't know.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's not very good. But again, they have another winnable
- 9:28Speaker 2: game this week in Cleveland. Cleveland, somehow, surprising me, won
- 9:32Speaker 2: the game in Jacksonville. Jacksonville is another area where the
- 9:37Speaker 2: coach could be in trouble. Doug Peterson seas gotta be wrong.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Trevor Lawrence hasn't progressed like we thought he would, and
- 9:45Speaker 2: everybody thought he would be the next great quarterback. I
- 9:48Speaker 2: certainly did, and he still might be, but it looks
- 9:52Speaker 2: like he's stuck in neutral right now and not advancing.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So Alex. Last week we talked about the most impressive
- 10:02Speaker 2: the most impressive wins the Lions, the Cowboys, the Rams,
- 10:08Speaker 2: the forty nine ers, and the Buccaneers. Well, four of
- 10:13Speaker 2: those five teams that I said were the most impressive
- 10:15Speaker 2: teams in Week one lost in Week two. The Lions
- 10:21Speaker 2: lost to the Buccaneers at home, which was shocking to me.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Not that the Buccaneers are a terrible NFL team, but
- 10:30Speaker 2: we was talking about how loaded the Lions were an
- 10:36Speaker 2: r and they lost to They lost to the Buccaneers
- 10:38Speaker 2: at home twenty to sixteen. There was a clock mismanagement
- 10:44Speaker 2: by coach Dan Campbell at the end of the first
- 10:46Speaker 2: half which coursed in a chance at three points, so
- 10:49Speaker 2: that hurt the Lions. The Cowboys which looked so good
- 10:54Speaker 2: in tearing apart the Browns in Cleveland, and the Browns
- 10:59Speaker 2: defense we think is pretty good. We don't know yet.
- 11:02Speaker 2: They were pretty good Sunday against Jacksonville, but Dallas sliced
- 11:08Speaker 2: not the week before, but on Sunday. They gave up
- 11:12Speaker 2: thirty five points in the first half, tying their all
- 11:14Speaker 2: time record from most points out in the first half,
- 11:18Speaker 2: which probably happened either in the expansion days of the
- 11:22Speaker 2: early sixties or during the early days of the Jerry
- 11:27Speaker 2: Jones ownership back in eighty eight or eighty nine when
- 11:31Speaker 2: they were one in fifteen then a Rams. The Rams
- 11:36Speaker 2: was forty one to ten. Even though I lost last
- 11:39Speaker 2: last week, we said that they were a team that
- 11:43Speaker 2: we were impressed with well, I can tell you and
- 11:45Speaker 2: this supes to show you how things change so quickly
- 11:47Speaker 2: in the NFL. And that's why you can't look ahead
- 11:50Speaker 2: what's going to happen two months from now. You can
- 11:53Speaker 2: only look happened what's gonna look next week. The Rams
- 11:58Speaker 2: were absolutely just destroy by the Arizona Cardinals forty one ten,
- 12:06Speaker 2: and they have problems. They have major, major, major injuries,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and I would think that they're the team that really
- 12:13Speaker 2: has a lot, a lot of things to worry about.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Cup is going to be out, a coup is going
- 12:22Speaker 2: to be out. It's it's scary for the Rams. They
- 12:27Speaker 2: have a suddenly they have a lot of problems. So again,
- 12:31Speaker 2: it's truly a week to week league. The Jets one,
- 12:35Speaker 2: thank goodness. They weren't impressive early on, they got better
- 12:38Speaker 2: as the game went on. They have a tough game
- 12:42Speaker 2: on Thursday against New England. If they can win that
- 12:45Speaker 2: game and just get out of there too and one
- 12:48Speaker 2: then they have ten days off and you can have
- 12:51Speaker 2: ten days of practice and as they get ready for
- 12:55Speaker 2: Denver at home on the twenty ninth, I think they'll
- 12:57Speaker 2: be okay. And Alex even though it wasn't a paint
- 13:02Speaker 2: painting that should be pung in a museum in Milan
- 13:07Speaker 2: or London without without Aaron Rodgers, they don't win that game.
- 13:13Speaker 2: If they had some of the schlubs that they had
- 13:15Speaker 2: at the quarterback position last year, they lose that game.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And Rodgers and the offense is going to click as
- 13:22Speaker 2: the season goes on, as long as they stay healthy.
- 13:25Speaker 2: The offensive line I thought got better. And obviously Bruce
- 13:29Speaker 2: Hall had a good game. And uh and and the
- 13:34Speaker 2: kid that Brent Braylan Allen, who they drafted from Wisconsin,
- 13:37Speaker 2: had a huge game. So he's gonna be figured in
- 13:41Speaker 2: in the game plan. More.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Tell me about the Braylan Allen because you know he
- 13:46Speaker 1: just he he was a big star. I was reading
- 13:50Speaker 1: over the Sunday as well.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yes he was. He was. He's the youngest player in
- 13:54Speaker 2: the NFL. He's the youngest player ever to score a
- 14:00Speaker 2: touchdown in the NFL. With the two we score on Sunday,
- 14:04Speaker 2: actually tying. I believe Archie Hebner with the Green Bay Packers,
- 14:13Speaker 2: and I believe his birthday, believe or not, was it
- 14:17Speaker 2: on the same day. So if that's accurate what they
- 14:22Speaker 2: mentioned on the news the other night, that is an
- 14:27Speaker 2: amazing coincidence of the statistic, But you know, we'll see.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I mean, I thought Rogers through the Bowl very well,
- 14:35Speaker 2: and obviously what we've seen, I think the first three
- 14:38Speaker 2: or four weeks of the NFL season, teams are just
- 14:41Speaker 2: getting still getting their team together, and the offensive line
- 14:45Speaker 2: has to play in the preseason, and the NFL teams
- 14:48Speaker 2: don't play anybody, but you really need to play your
- 14:51Speaker 2: offensive line, especially when you're have so many changes on
- 14:55Speaker 2: the offensive line like so many NFL teams had, like
- 14:58Speaker 2: the Jets that had the Giants and the Jets the
- 15:01Speaker 2: only guy who played in the pre season from the
- 15:04Speaker 2: offensive line starting was Joe Timan, the center, and he
- 15:07Speaker 2: only played like half of the first game. But the
- 15:13Speaker 2: league is crazy, you got you know.
- 15:16Speaker 1: The one big standout to me is the Saints. I mean,
- 15:19Speaker 1: they have that huge win against Carolina. Now they back
- 15:21Speaker 1: it up against the Cowboys one for real now or.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Correct, I'm not ready to say that they're on their
- 15:31Speaker 2: way to playing in the Super Bowl, which tyronically is
- 15:34Speaker 2: in their home stadium in New Orleans. But they scored
- 15:38Speaker 2: ninety one points the first two weeks this season. Okay,
- 15:40Speaker 2: scoring ninety forty seven points against Uh, the terrible Carolina
- 15:45Speaker 2: Panthers is one thing, but scoring forty four against Dallas
- 15:49Speaker 2: thirty five in the first half is very impressive. And
- 15:55Speaker 2: Clint Kobiak, son of former NFL quarterback and coach Gary Kubiak,
- 16:02Speaker 2: has totally changed their offensive game plan around and they
- 16:06Speaker 2: just look they look better. Now. Are they gonna score
- 16:08Speaker 2: forty five points every week? No, but there are a
- 16:11Speaker 2: team now we now have to look at as we
- 16:13Speaker 2: move forward in the next couple of next couple of weeks,
- 16:17Speaker 2: because you can't look far ahead. The NFL is too
- 16:20Speaker 2: volatile with injuries and things of that nature. So you
- 16:23Speaker 2: got to look at it a couple of weeks at
- 16:25Speaker 2: a time. A couple of shout out to Sam Donald.
- 16:30Speaker 2: You got to give it to him. He led them
- 16:35Speaker 2: to a victory against San Francisco, and we saw how
- 16:37Speaker 2: good San Francisco looked the week before and against the Jets.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But Donald had another big game seventeen for twenty six
- 16:46Speaker 2: two hundred and sixty eight yards, two touchdowns. I mean
- 16:49Speaker 2: in two games he's thirty six or fifty thirty six
- 16:52Speaker 2: for fifty four hundred and seventy six yards, and he
- 16:55Speaker 2: looks comfortable in that beautiful ninety seven yard touchdown pass
- 17:01Speaker 2: to Justin Jefferson was right out of a highlight wheel.
- 17:05Speaker 2: He was. He was excellent. Shout out A shout out
- 17:07Speaker 2: to him. You know, we talked about the Cardinals and
- 17:10Speaker 2: the Rams. A shout out to Kyler Merray. You know
- 17:12Speaker 2: he's been much maligned. He had a good game against Buffalo.
- 17:16Speaker 2: They could be two and oh they could have won
- 17:17Speaker 2: that game in Buffalo. They had an early lead and
- 17:22Speaker 2: they had chances to hold on. But he had a
- 17:24Speaker 2: big game seventeen for twenty six to sixty six. He
- 17:28Speaker 2: ran for fifty nine yards. He looked in control as
- 17:31Speaker 2: I watched that route, which Alex, I would have never
- 17:36Speaker 2: figured that the Rams would have had their launch handed
- 17:38Speaker 2: to them. The Rams with their injuries, they're in trouble,
- 17:42Speaker 2: so suddenly they are in trumble. You know. Poop in
- 17:46Speaker 2: Acchoire out five to seven weeks, Cooper cut Cup out
- 17:49Speaker 2: multiple weeks. So so you know, we'll see what happens there. Alex,
- 17:58Speaker 2: do you realize that there was thirty nine at field
- 18:01Speaker 2: goal attempts from fifty yards plus the first two weeks
- 18:04Speaker 2: this season twenty three to first week sixteen. This week,
- 18:09Speaker 2: the first week twenty one out of twenty three were
- 18:12Speaker 2: made this week, fourteen out of sixteen were made, thirty
- 18:16Speaker 2: five out of thirty nine from fifty plus the believe
- 18:19Speaker 2: it or not, Justin Tucker who's the goat. It's over
- 18:25Speaker 2: two this year fifty plus and after going one for
- 18:28Speaker 2: five from fifty plus last year, So maybe Age is
- 18:31Speaker 2: starting to catch up with is with his dynamic leg.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Only three three hundred yard passes this week in the
- 18:38Speaker 2: league where we always thought passing, this was a passing
- 18:43Speaker 2: and catch league. You know, Goff brought pretty all both
- 18:49Speaker 2: through for three hundred yards, as did Gino Smith, but
- 18:52Speaker 2: he got over three hundred yards because that game went
- 18:54Speaker 2: to overtime. Both weeks in the RODA has been seven
- 18:58Speaker 2: one hundred yard rushers and as teams are it seems
- 19:01Speaker 2: to be rushing the ball more effectively. And Jordan Mason,
- 19:09Speaker 2: who had one hundred and forty seven yards against the Jets,
- 19:11Speaker 2: back that up with a hundred against against the Vikings
- 19:16Speaker 2: and J. K. Dobbins for the Chargers, and we got
- 19:20Speaker 2: we got to watch the Chargers with with Harbor there
- 19:22Speaker 2: now you see how how they advanced this season. Had
- 19:25Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty one yards in week one hundred
- 19:27Speaker 2: and thirty five yards last week, so and he was
- 19:31Speaker 2: coming off a major injury. So it seems like Dobbins
- 19:34Speaker 2: has bounced back. You know, those are the things in
- 19:37Speaker 2: the league that you know, stand out to me. Obviously,
- 19:41Speaker 2: last night's Monday night game, the Eagles gave one away.
- 19:47Speaker 2: They had it in their bag.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I'm not now you know sa Quon's drop pass. Is
- 19:53Speaker 1: it fun for the Giants? Is it fair for the
- 19:55Speaker 1: Giants to make fans make fun of that or.
- 19:57Speaker 2: What I mean?
- 19:58Speaker 1: It just it's happened. He's gonna passing during this season.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Well again, fans could do whatever they want to do.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I mean the play, I would have ran the ball.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I'm sure some of the great coaches who would would
- 20:14Speaker 2: run the ball like Parcels, like Vince Lombardi. They had
- 20:20Speaker 2: no timeouts left. There was a minute forty six left
- 20:24Speaker 2: in the game. You run the ball, you run it
- 20:28Speaker 2: down to a minute six a minute, you know, all right. So,
- 20:36Speaker 2: but then Barkley on third and three, it was right
- 20:40Speaker 2: in his hands and he dropped it. I mean, if
- 20:44Speaker 2: he gets the first down there, the game is over.
- 20:46Speaker 2: He started going to victory formation. You know, Hurts rolled
- 20:50Speaker 2: out to the right. He put that right on Barkley's hands.
- 20:54Speaker 2: And Barkley, you know, has dropped sixteen balls in the
- 20:58Speaker 2: last four years of any NFL running back, So that
- 21:03Speaker 2: makes that play even more troubling. Yes, it should have
- 21:06Speaker 2: been completed. Yes, ninety nine out of one hundred times
- 21:10Speaker 2: that's completed. But you gotta run the ball with no timeouts.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Take forty seconds off the clock. They would have got
- 21:18Speaker 2: the ball with fifty five fifty eight seconds left in
- 21:21Speaker 2: the game. And then when they did get the ball Atlanta,
- 21:26Speaker 2: do you talk about a soft prevent defense? Oh my god,
- 21:31Speaker 2: the Eagles allowed Cousins to take the ball down the
- 21:35Speaker 2: field and get into scoring range so quickly. And again
- 21:41Speaker 2: for this is for Jets fans who were all upset
- 21:44Speaker 2: about losing Bryce off last night, no tackles, no sacks,
- 21:51Speaker 2: no stats. So well, because the Jets did suffer a
- 21:55Speaker 2: major loss on Sunday with the Johnson injury. I mean,
- 21:58Speaker 2: they are down ned rusher who had seven and a
- 22:01Speaker 2: half sacks last year and was getting better and better.
- 22:06Speaker 2: And the Jets need to do something after this Patriot
- 22:09Speaker 2: game with the Hassan ritic situation or adding some other
- 22:14Speaker 2: defensive linemen that could help them out. Suddenly the Jets
- 22:18Speaker 2: defensive front, which looked solid, is not. So that's another
- 22:25Speaker 2: thing that we need to keep an eye on. But
- 22:31Speaker 2: you know, it's a crazy league. Like I said, it's
- 22:34Speaker 2: a week it's a week to week thing. But you
- 22:39Speaker 2: gotta like New Orleans, you really do. Like I said,
- 22:44Speaker 2: scoring the forty seven points against Carolina is one thing
- 22:47Speaker 2: against Dallas during your home opener is troubling for Dallas,
- 22:54Speaker 2: and Michah Parsons said that we will targe it. You know,
- 23:00Speaker 2: I guess on his podcast. Really well, then that's on,
- 23:03Speaker 2: that's on McCarthy, that's on Mike McCarthy, and we talked
- 23:06Speaker 2: about how hot his uh his coaching seed is. I
- 23:10Speaker 2: mean it got it got hotter on Sunday. So, uh,
- 23:18Speaker 2: they're just a weird downs is just a weird, weird team.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Well, we have a few minutes here. Obviously Casey winning
- 23:25Speaker 1: against the Bengals. That past interference call your take.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It was past interference. It's not bad about it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You know, I'm certain to think the fans are just
- 23:35Speaker 1: giving the Chiefs, you know, some hate because they hate
- 23:37Speaker 1: the team, or they hate their personality now or Taylor's again, I.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Don't know what people fans hate success? Why do you
- 23:43Speaker 2: think the New York Yankees are the most loved and
- 23:45Speaker 2: hated team in baseball history? Yes? I know. They haven't
- 23:48Speaker 2: won since two thousand and nine, haven't gone to the
- 23:50Speaker 2: World Series in two thousand nine. Why do people why did?
- 23:53Speaker 2: Why is all their notes the Notre Dame haters? Yes,
- 23:55Speaker 2: I know, No Dame hasn't been Notre Dame for a
- 23:58Speaker 2: long while. But that's why when they were winning all
- 24:01Speaker 2: those championships and always contending, there's people hate success. They
- 24:09Speaker 2: they don't like to embrace dynasties. So that that's why,
- 24:14Speaker 2: that's why you see that. But that was pasting aference.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I mean, there's no other way to say. And it
- 24:19Speaker 2: bailed out Kansas City, who really are within a toenail
- 24:26Speaker 2: and one past interference call instead of being two and
- 24:30Speaker 2: zero being owing to I mean, Mahomes wasn't great on Sunday,
- 24:39Speaker 2: you know, but it was pasting aference.
- 24:42Speaker 1: It was the well, real quick from the grid iron
- 24:46Speaker 1: to the Diamond. I got to say, your team the
- 24:49Speaker 1: other Ets, right, the Mets are looking exciting every game,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and what's their success and what's the what what can
- 24:58Speaker 1: we contribute to their success. I mean Lindor they up
- 25:00Speaker 1: through that injury and now he's back right, So yeah, well, I.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Don't know if he's in the lineup tonight. I didn't
- 25:04Speaker 2: look at the lineup yet, but they need him obviously.
- 25:09Speaker 2: They're in a huge hitting slump, Alex. Do you realize
- 25:11Speaker 2: that in the last fourteen games they've only had ten
- 25:14Speaker 2: hits in the game one time Friday night in Philly
- 25:19Speaker 2: when they won eleven to three. The other thirteen games,
- 25:22Speaker 2: they haven't gotten ten hits in the game. They haven't
- 25:25Speaker 2: recorded ten hits in the game, which is amazing. But
- 25:29Speaker 2: even more amazing, they're ten and four in those games.
- 25:32Speaker 2: So they've gotten great pitching both starl and bullpen Manaia
- 25:38Speaker 2: Mendoz excuse me, is calm Is has a team very poised.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Can they do it? They have Philly coming in this week.
- 25:51Speaker 2: They should have won one of the weekend games. They
- 25:55Speaker 2: probably would have if Flendor didn't miss them, and they
- 26:00Speaker 2: just got to keep on scratching out. They were a
- 26:02Speaker 2: plucky team, and unlike the first two months of the
- 26:06Speaker 2: season when they were bad and born, they're If you're
- 26:11Speaker 2: a Met fan, you gotta keep your eye on the
- 26:12Speaker 2: TV they really fight hard, they play hard. They need
- 26:19Speaker 2: a spark. They're not getting it from Nemo, They're not
- 26:22Speaker 2: getting it from Alonso, They're not getting it from j. D. Martinez,
- 26:26Speaker 2: who's now like in an over twenty two streak. And
- 26:32Speaker 2: even though we had talked about probably the end of
- 26:37Speaker 2: Jeff McNeil's Mets career, they miss him. They miss him
- 26:42Speaker 2: for the left handed stick, you could play second, third, right,
- 26:45Speaker 2: or left field. So it hurts their versatility. So we'll see,
- 26:49Speaker 2: they're gonna try to have to scratch out as many
- 26:51Speaker 2: wins as possible. There's twelve days to go in the season.
- 26:55Speaker 2: They're one game ahead. They have the toughest remaining schedule
- 26:59Speaker 2: while of all contenders. But they're gonna keep fighting. And
- 27:03Speaker 2: you know, let's see what Mendoza can do to squeeze
- 27:06Speaker 2: squeeze out a winner or two and Alex if they
- 27:14Speaker 2: get in, they could be a factor.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And of course, across town, the Yanks are now three
- 27:21Speaker 1: games up heading on the West Coast. I mean, if
- 27:24Speaker 1: you're in the Yanks, that's where you want to be.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I know people could say there it should be further
- 27:27Speaker 1: up because the Orioles have just been struggling and decimated
- 27:30Speaker 1: with their injuries. But three games up, well, a couple
- 27:33Speaker 1: of weeks ago, I think they got it.
- 27:35Speaker 2: They'll get Alex, they'll get to buy unless they totally
- 27:38Speaker 2: crap out. It's unfortunately for the Orioles. They had a
- 27:43Speaker 2: great opportunity, but obviously they're not ready yet and they've had,
- 27:48Speaker 2: you know, all those injuries to so many players. But
- 27:52Speaker 2: we at the All Star break, we said, we said
- 27:56Speaker 2: on the podcast that one of the teams that we
- 27:58Speaker 2: think could take a step back in the second half
- 28:00Speaker 2: of the season would be the Orioles. The one thing
- 28:03Speaker 2: that Termerinello's take got wrong was the Padres, who I
- 28:07Speaker 2: thought we're going to continue to nose dive and they haven't.
- 28:12Speaker 2: The Padres even without Soto this year, I mean they
- 28:16Speaker 2: get in, well, they will get in unless they fully
- 28:20Speaker 2: fall apart the last ten days of the season. They'll
- 28:22Speaker 2: have the first three games at home in the first round,
- 28:29Speaker 2: and they have a chance to get to and to
- 28:32Speaker 2: win the World Series. They really do. So these last
- 28:38Speaker 2: twelve days are going to be exciting and hopefully the
- 28:41Speaker 2: Mets can win enough games to take it right right
- 28:44Speaker 2: to the.
- 28:44Speaker 1: End and win it really fast. Here we'll get to
- 28:48Speaker 1: Aaron Judge's home run chase next week. I know if
- 28:50Speaker 1: we'll get there, but the loss of Eddie Crainfull, did
- 28:53Speaker 1: you want to weigh in on that this week's Terminalo's take.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Eddie Craneple obviously is not on the Mets Mount Rushmore,
- 29:03Speaker 2: He's not Strawberry, He's not Keith Rnandez, Gary Carter like
- 29:06Speaker 2: Piazza David Bright, but everybody knows that he was the
- 29:14Speaker 2: pulse of the Mets. He was a Met through and through,
- 29:17Speaker 2: and so many franchise and so many different sports has
- 29:20Speaker 2: a player like that. And he played all seventeen years
- 29:25Speaker 2: with the Mets, right out of high school. He actually
- 29:28Speaker 2: played a couple of games that first year, that expansion year.
- 29:33Speaker 2: He was a great. He had ninety pinch hits as
- 29:36Speaker 2: a met, which is still a Mets record. He played
- 29:39Speaker 2: on the sixty nine Mets, the memorable sixty nine Mets.
- 29:42Speaker 2: He hit a home run in the World Series against
- 29:45Speaker 2: the Orioles in the game where Tommy Age the lay.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Tommy Agy made two spectacular catches. He's a Met, He's
- 29:53Speaker 2: a Met through and through. He was as good a
- 29:57Speaker 2: person as he was a player. I had the opportunity
- 30:02Speaker 2: to talk to him twice, believe it or not, when
- 30:04Speaker 2: I was working at the New Jersey Sports Next Exposition
- 30:08Speaker 2: Authority at Ayshot Center, after I had left the Nets.
- 30:12Speaker 2: When one of my friends who you worked for the
- 30:14Speaker 2: Nets but used to work for the Mets was friends
- 30:16Speaker 2: with Eddie Cranepoole and said, can you help Eddie get
- 30:19Speaker 2: his his granddaughter tickets for a Justin Bieber concert. So
- 30:24Speaker 2: we talked three or four times, and Alex he was
- 30:27Speaker 2: a regular guy. He didn't come off as hey, I
- 30:30Speaker 2: was Ahmed cranepool of the sixty nine Mets or one
- 30:34Speaker 2: of the original Mets. Well he wasn't really one of
- 30:36Speaker 2: the original Nets because he wasn't in any expansion draft,
- 30:39Speaker 2: but he played the first year. He was a regular guy,
- 30:42Speaker 2: you know, and a pleasure to talk to on the phone,
- 30:46Speaker 2: and God bless him and God you know.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Well, no, this has been great. We're going to catch
- 30:52Speaker 1: up as the week's progress, but enjoy the game Thursday night.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And I feel like we're in a whirlwind now. Every
- 30:57Speaker 1: day he is going to have some kind of new
- 30:59Speaker 1: sports or whatever.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, one last thing I want to give out
- 31:04Speaker 2: of I want to give out one last shout out
- 31:06Speaker 2: and to Lewis Arise last night struck out for the
- 31:11Speaker 2: first time since August tenth. In this era where strikeouts
- 31:16Speaker 2: people don't care. Battles don't get it. They're striking out.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Guys are striking out one hundred and ninety times a year.
- 31:22Speaker 2: He won one hundred and forty at bats without striking out,
- 31:26Speaker 2: the longest since nineteen ninety five, when Hall of Famer
- 31:29Speaker 2: and fellow padre Tony Gwynn won one hundred and seventy
- 31:33Speaker 2: without striking out. So a shout out to Lewis Arrise
- 31:36Speaker 2: and Terminello's take Boo de week. The University of Tennessee
- 31:40Speaker 2: football team up thirty to nothing in the first quarter
- 31:44Speaker 2: against the Kent State They try an onside kick and
- 31:48Speaker 2: recovered an on sidekick. Not a classy movement on my part.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Thirty seven nothing at the end of the first quarter
- 31:56Speaker 2: they were winning sixty five halftime. Alex. They try an
- 31:59Speaker 2: onside kick in the first quarter of thirty to nothing.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Very very bad move. So that's it. That's what I got.
- 32:08Speaker 2: This Tennessee is now charging an athlete, so their talents
- 32:12Speaker 2: I can't believe it. But that's how about the analys turnament? Yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 2: in the college world, right, no doubt it's gonna be.
- 32:19Speaker 2: It's not. It's not a positive thing for for college athletics.
- 32:24Speaker 2: And basically what they did was that's almost that's a
- 32:28Speaker 2: type of Tennessee seat license what they're doing there, that's
- 32:33Speaker 2: what they're doing. But and they have a huge stadium
- 32:38Speaker 2: that fills up every week, so they're gonna make a
- 32:40Speaker 2: lot of money with that, with that fee. So I
- 32:45Speaker 2: want to credit.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Brett McMurphy with that great insight their bread things for
- 32:50Speaker 1: And that's our exit because you know, the news keeps
- 32:53Speaker 1: coming so flu thanks so much, and we'll do this
- 32:55Speaker 1: again next week.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Alex. As always, thank you very much. Talk to you
- 32:59Speaker 2: next week.
