- 0:00Mornings with Craig Coglianese and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:03Don't you say anything stupid? By anything stupid, I mean anything at all.
- 0:06No, it's crazy. Welcome to the Thunderdome, people.
- 0:09News, opinions, politics, and the stories that matter to Texans.
- 0:14I shaved for this.
- 0:15Here are your hosts, Craig Coglianese and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:20Remember everyone, just don't be yourselves.
- 0:22On KSEV AM700, The Voice of Texas.
- 0:26Yes! That's awesome.
- 0:27So fun to do!
- 0:31KSEV radio!
- 0:33And now Craig Coglianese and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:35Thank you, Dana Loesch. My name is Craig Coglianese.
- 0:38When we made that first intro, I was using a fake name still.
- 0:42He is Wayne Dolcefino, and this is our radio show in The Voice of Texas.
- 0:47And Wayne was just describing to me why he doesn't like laptops,
- 0:50and I actually thought it was fascinating.
- 0:52Actually, I genuinely really enjoyed that you don't like the layout of the keyboard.
- 0:56Is that right?
- 0:58Yeah, you know that the mouse pad thing in the front, so you have the mouse pad and then
- 1:03you have the like the letters, whatever that's called, the keyboard?
- 1:07I want it reversed.
- 1:09I've never liked the idea of putting my hands on the mouse pad to type, which is why I use
- 1:18an iPad.
- 1:18I love that you have, it might be a better design.
- 1:22I've never tried it the way you're saying it because it doesn't exist, but I wonder
- 1:25if someone made it if it would actually be better and if we'd all like it more.
- 1:29I just sort of understand why they haven't. It seems so logical to me.
- 1:34Sure.
- 1:35I'm a very chronological guy. If you watch my stories, I'm chronological. I'm a chronological
- 1:41guy. It seems to me that the letters should be the easiest thing to get to. And then if
- 1:49you need to use the mouse pad, you just go up rather than go down.
- 1:54Yeah, that it makes sense what you're saying, but I just love the fact like for that reason you're just done with laptops
- 1:59You're like they don't make them the way I want. I'm not using them. No and and look I know I'm not I'm not something South Asian
- 2:07You know
- 2:07Refugee who's an engineering expert sure right? It's not really my forte. Yeah, and you know, right
- 2:14I think that's pretty fair to say that's fair
- 2:16Engineering is not my thing. Um, I just think it makes more sense
- 2:21sense. And I'm a little bit disappointed that, you know, Elon and OpenAI or any of these
- 2:29other companies, with all the brain power they have, it's such a simple solution.
- 2:36I don't know if you're mentioning Elon because you saw what they did yesterday, but it was
- 2:40incredible. Tesla debuted its newest sports car, I think it's called the Roadster 2, and
- 2:47They put this video up of the road.
- 2:48It has these fans under it that suction it to the road,
- 2:52which is supposed to make it capable of going even faster
- 2:55than any car ever.
- 2:57I think they can go from zero to 60 and under a second.
- 3:00It's like 0.8 of a second that they get to.
- 3:02Yeah, that's crazy.
- 3:03But the thing they did is they set up this Hot Wheels-esque
- 3:06track that went upside down.
- 3:08And then they drove the roadster up it
- 3:11until the roadster was upside down.
- 3:13And it was still glued to the street,
- 3:15still driving around like normal,
- 3:17and then the most ridiculous thing happened,
- 3:20and maybe I'll put a video up on social media for this,
- 3:22it then fired itself off of the ramp,
- 3:24flipped itself over and used air to land.
- 3:28So it flew, the newest Tesla vehicle.
- 3:32And I had to make sure by finding nine sources
- 3:34that it was an AI, that there was a real thing
- 3:36that actually happened that they actually debuted yesterday.
- 3:40How much is it?
- 3:41It's like $180,000 or something.
- 3:44Yeah, it's-
- 3:45money. Okay. I don't even know if it's out yet though. I think
- 3:49it doesn't debut for another year. They were just demonstrating
- 3:52it now and it's it looked ridiculous.
- 3:55When you talked about suction, you know, because I'm like a
- 3:58really bad driver. Like when I'm in a car, it really is like a
- 4:01metal miss hole. Just like heading toward, you know, some
- 4:05you know, whatever. And if I could get a car that would like
- 4:09suck to the ground, so it didn't like go into the other lane,
- 4:13like I did a couple weeks ago,
- 4:15when we were together in Austin.
- 4:16Right.
- 4:17If I could get that car, I would do it.
- 4:21You know what's really funny?
- 4:22He also said, because Elon was there,
- 4:24that this would be the only manual car
- 4:27that they continue producing.
- 4:29And he didn't mean like stick shift.
- 4:31He meant the only car that you can drive.
- 4:34Tesla's plan in the future is to have every other car
- 4:36they make be fully autonomous,
- 4:38so you don't even have to drive it.
- 4:40And I think this one obviously would also have that.
- 4:42to a suction to the road and be able to drive itself.
- 4:45I would love a fully autonomous car because, like I said, I am really destined to be in
- 4:52the backseat of a car with someone else driving me all the time.
- 4:58I just get in and say, take me to Craig's trailer home in Willis.
- 5:07How dare you?
- 5:07It's a condo.
- 5:09I'm not insulting Willis.
- 5:10I don't know why Willis came to mind.
- 5:13No, that's funny.
- 5:13What I really think is funny about this though, you're in Austin right now.
- 5:17Isn't Waymo huge there, the autonomous taxis?
- 5:21Yeah.
- 5:21And I like those.
- 5:23I did Waymo a lot in San Francisco.
- 5:27The only problem with Waymo is that you have to know exactly where the spot is going to
- 5:33stop because you could be standing on a corner and all of a sudden the Waymo is driving down
- 5:38the block and stops like 800 feet away and then you I can't see that great so I
- 5:43can't see that it's flashing my name yeah so I don't know if it's my Waymo
- 5:47because you know it says your name I didn't know that I've never taken Waymo
- 5:51on the thing it's a little rotating thing yeah yeah very very cool it is I
- 5:56was a big fan of the Waymos I really am and I have no problem in fact it would
- 6:02it would if I thought about getting a driver I really did because literally I
- 6:07my insurance company. Can I say their name? Because I mean, I'm charging me a fortune.
- 6:12Why not? But no, great insurance company. I won't say their name. But they're great insurance
- 6:17company. But my insurance next year, if I even have any, I think there's a real chance
- 6:24I'm going to get a letter any day now saying, because you are an habitual accident cause
- 6:30or you were not going to cover you anymore. Because I think I've had four or five claims.
- 6:35I hit my gate at my house in Houston.
- 6:38I just, you know, I hit the gate.
- 6:40And then, of course, I got caught in the gate.
- 6:43And there was one way to go where I would have been disengaged from the gate.
- 6:47And then there was the way to go, which would make the entire gate
- 6:50scratch your entire car from front to back.
- 6:54Which one do you think I chose?
- 6:56I wish you had chose option A, but I think you probably chose B.
- 7:00And I wouldn't be. Yeah. And and as a result.
- 7:03And then my landlord, because I ran in Houston, the landlord's insurance company sued me for
- 7:13causing damage to the gate.
- 7:16So I had multiple lawsuits.
- 7:18People like to sue me.
- 7:19I don't really know why.
- 7:21I don't know.
- 7:21I don't know.
- 7:22And your lawyer has to love you almost as much as your insurance company does, if not
- 7:25more than your insurance company actually.
- 7:27You know what?
- 7:28They've been honored.
- 7:30I would tell you that story about the guy that sued me claiming he couldn't have sex
- 7:36anymore because of the interview I did.
- 7:38Yeah, I remember part of that, but tell it again for anybody that doesn't know.
- 7:41No, no, if you're just joining us and you've never listened to the show, I've been sued,
- 7:44as you know, right?
- 7:4625, 30 times, maybe.
- 7:48I'm proud.
- 7:50And some guys who'd be claiming he couldn't have sex anymore because of an interview I
- 7:58I did. It was like a six minute interview.
- 8:02And I'm not sure why I'm telling this story now, but it's a great day.
- 8:08But he claimed you couldn't have sex with me anymore.
- 8:11And and during my deposition, you know, which is supposed to be real serious,
- 8:15sworn testimony, he essentially gave me one of those softball questions
- 8:20where he said, you know, how do you feel knowing that you have caused
- 8:24the de-sexing of this guy, because he can't have sex anymore because of post-traumatic
- 8:30Wayne syndrome.
- 8:31That's great.
- 8:32And I said, well, I was in the same interview and I have sex just fine.
- 8:39That's a great answer, man.
- 8:41I thought it was a really good answer.
- 8:43I don't know what to say to you.
- 8:44And my lawyer sort of looked to me like, really, Wayne?
- 8:51Yeah, no, I wonder how much how successful he was before the interview.
- 8:56I wonder if that was the kind of a chilly though yet.
- 8:58Yeah, it has.
- 8:59It has gotten very chilly.
- 9:00My tires were definitely under inflated driving into work today.
- 9:04A chilly for Texas though, because I'm from the East Coast and the Midwest.
- 9:10This is not cold to me.
- 9:12It's not about cold.
- 9:13First of all, I mean, I'm in Dripping Springs.
- 9:15I'm on the border of Austin and Dripping Springs here in the lovely Belterra neighborhood.
- 9:21Oh, very nice.
- 9:23Actually, it's fine.
- 9:25It's a bunch of houses that used to cost 300,000 and now cost like, you know, three times as much.
- 9:31Yeah. Right.
- 9:32You know those neighborhoods.
- 9:32I know those neighborhoods.
- 9:34Yeah. But I went outside this morning when I woke up.
- 9:37You know, it's funny.
- 9:38I wake up now, even if I don't set my alarm.
- 9:43That's nice.
- 9:43That's new for you.
- 9:44you
- 9:45I woke up at 5.30 in the morning.
- 9:46You know the first thing I thought about this morning?
- 9:48What's that?
- 9:50Craig Coglianese.
- 9:51I wonder if Craig's up.
- 9:53I'm honored, and I was up.
- 9:55I was up at 5.30.
- 9:56I get up at about 5 o'clock every day.
- 9:58Do you really?
- 9:58Yeah, I do.
- 9:59When do you sleep?
- 10:00Do you just sleep at night?
- 10:01Or do you sleep during the day?
- 10:02Because I, you radio guys, don't do much during the day.
- 10:05Well, I used to have a normal sleep thing.
- 10:07But after this show started, I have
- 10:09been finding myself falling asleep for an hour or two
- 10:12in the middle of the day when I'm back at home.
- 10:14because I do work additionally like for the station in other capacities and I'm usually doing that from home and I'll like doze off on the couch for an hour and then I'll sleep at night for like six hours.
- 10:24Why you're on the clock?
- 10:25I don't know if I'm on the clock or not. It's because I finish all my work. You know, I don't know. I don't know if I'm punched in or punched out. I don't know how that works.
- 10:34I think that would be called fraud.
- 10:36No, no, no.
- 10:37First of all.
- 10:37No, no, no. I'm full time and I'm pretty sure I have a lunch in there. So let's just say I'm sleeping whenever I'm supposed to be at lunch.
- 10:43You know, I pay my people for lunch time. Oh, do you? Okay. I don't make them go off the clock
- 10:49I don't punch in and out of a clock you keep saying like a clock I don't have
- 10:53We have like a time to we have the old-fashioned thing when you stick I'm an example. I'm an exempt employee
- 10:59I don't have I don't do with clock now
- 11:01so we started technically billing working at 9 o'clock in the morning, right and
- 11:06And but my staff believes that when it says you begin work at nine o'clock that that is sort of like the time
- 11:15They're supposed to get there. So like yeah, technically every morning is probably like 930 that people start working
- 11:23And I'm going I literally just lost
- 11:27Like a lot of money. Yeah, because nobody but it's funny how they
- 11:32exactly at five o'clock. They're downstairs. When people come in my office, I look at my
- 11:39computer and it says 501, 502. I'm thinking people must like for the last hour, it must
- 11:47be like they're at the clock.
- 11:51They probably have an alarm set on all their phones to get out of there.
- 12:03Visualize the morning. Yeah, it will see the Sun come up a little bit later. All right, we got it
- 12:07We got to take a break. Well, we're talking about the sunrise
- 12:12You're in Austin and I have nothing I would love to have a sunrise behind me that would be nice
- 12:17We'd have to totally redo the studio to get that done
- 12:19Quick break and maybe rip out all the carpet which would make Wayne very very happy quick break
- 12:24We got a lot coming up on the show on KSEV radio the voice of Texas
- 12:28We are the mob guys Craig Coglianese and Wayne Dolcefino after a 12-day
- 12:33Disappearing act from the campaign trail the James Talarico camp says that he had the flu
- 12:39Well, it is quite possible that he did have the flu or as some are saying maybe he just flew the cuckoo's nest
- 12:50On the voice of Texas my name is Craig Coglianese he is Wayne Dolcefino
- 12:57We are your mob guys on the show.
- 12:59We were talking a little bit about baseball
- 13:01before we started.
- 13:02And so I figured I'd just bring baseball.
- 13:04I'm shocked.
- 13:05I know Jack is shocked and you probably are too,
- 13:07but I think you stopped watching
- 13:08after the Astros fell out of this thing.
- 13:11The Brewers just swept the Dodgers.
- 13:14So the Dodgers are out.
- 13:15The Brewers are into the World Series,
- 13:16which they've never won before.
- 13:18And they will face either the Rays or the Indians.
- 13:22I still call them the Guardians.
- 13:25I don't know.
- 13:25Well, we'll see which one of those two makes it.
- 13:27We should change the name back to India.
- 13:30They are.
- 13:30They're the Cleveland Indians.
- 13:32I put it in.
- 13:33Oh, go ahead.
- 13:33Well, I don't understand how...
- 13:37Look, I can see, you know, calling them like the Cleveland scalpers or something would
- 13:42be like derogatory, right?
- 13:45But just calling them Indians.
- 13:48How was that ever derogatory?
- 13:51I have no idea.
- 13:51And it's funny I put it in because I like to watch when AI becomes woke with me
- 13:56I put it in like the Google search the other day like how many world series of the Cleveland Indians won
- 14:01I was just curious and it goes there the Cleveland Guardians it like immediately corrected
- 14:06And I was like, ah, okay, it sounds like my car I ever miss
- 14:10I like the fancy one just like, you know, I'm sure cheaper Mercedes and
- 14:16I guess that sounded kind of like
- 14:18I cheaper miss you know what that is but that's why yeah I least it so don't get excited
- 14:24okay, but but it talks to me you know you
- 14:29You supposed to say hey Mercedes and the little woman person says hey, what do you need right?
- 14:36Mind I could be in a car with one of my people talking about a case
- 14:41And then all of a sudden without anyone asking Mercedes to say a word
- 14:46It starts saying, well, if you're talking about climate change, you could want to...
- 14:53I mean, it's like, and I agree with you on this woke thing.
- 14:56Yeah.
- 14:57It's like an extension of the TV stations, right?
- 15:01Yes.
- 15:01When they became all woke and we have to start saying undocumented worker.
- 15:06Like, to me, an undocumented worker was someone who like, oh, where are my documents?
- 15:12Right, I don't have them.
- 15:13I don't...
- 15:14I'm undocumented at the moment.
- 15:15Yeah, they're in my car.
- 15:17Yeah, right.
- 15:18But they actually have them.
- 15:20I never understood why we accept those changes.
- 15:26They've sanitized so much language, I think, for the immediate purpose of convincing people
- 15:32that their opinion is right on something as opposed to anything else.
- 15:35There's so many different ways.
- 15:36The birthing person stuff was hilarious to me.
- 15:39And I think that that was the line where people were like, no, I'm going to call a woman a
- 15:43woman.
- 15:44and I'm not gonna say birthing person.
- 15:47Yeah, but you know what?
- 15:48Maybe if they keep being on us,
- 15:50we're gonna all just start believing in six genders
- 15:53and nine spiritual leaders that are all equal.
- 16:02Because they kind of beat you with it.
- 16:04Sure.
- 16:05Right?
- 16:06Yes, they do.
- 16:08That's what they do.
- 16:09It's not like this indigenous people's day thing
- 16:11versus Columbus Day.
- 16:12Like I never agreed.
- 16:16Was there ever a vote in the first place where we all voted to get rid of Columbus Day and
- 16:22make it Indigenous Peoples Day?
- 16:24Who voted?
- 16:25I don't know.
- 16:26They just changed it.
- 16:28Yeah, they did.
- 16:29And they did it and they said it was for our benefit and then a lot of us hated it and
- 16:32they told us to shut up.
- 16:33That's what they did all the time.
- 16:35As someone who's older now or old or whatever, I understand that you start to say to yourself,
- 16:41Maybe it's just time for me to die, right?
- 16:43Because I obviously don't recognize this place anymore, right?
- 16:47So you're like, you look around and go, where do I live?
- 16:50No, I'll tell you the truth.
- 16:51And this has been going on for a few years now.
- 16:53I find myself liking having conversations with people in generations above mine
- 16:59because of how much they agree with me and how much of this stuff is crap.
- 17:02So I'll tell you that, no, I don't want people like you to not be here anymore.
- 17:06I think people who understand this differently than the younger people who are buying into all this nonsense are the most valuable
- 17:13Component to rejecting it and then honestly when we talk about if we you know spin this back into voting
- 17:20People in baby boomer or Gen X generation will vote more than Millennials still the vote more than you know
- 17:26Gen Z will and so they still have a bigger
- 17:29disproportionate control on who's in the White House, who's in other places.
- 17:34I'm most concerned about the decrease in drinking among younger people because
- 17:38because when when we were all out drinking, right, and then it was election
- 17:44day the next day and we would get drunk and we'd be so hungover we would say, you
- 17:49know what, I'm not gonna go vote. I don't really care that much, right, because I don't feel well.
- 17:54But now they're all working out and stuff and you're not hanging out in bars that much.
- 17:59I know.
- 18:00And I did two in the morning, so they're up.
- 18:03And they would vote.
- 18:05Yeah, it's terrible.
- 18:06So I think, here's my suggestion for the night before election day.
- 18:10We should, all the bars where the owners still believe in America, we should have free liquor.
- 18:20I think we should have-
- 18:21One night.
- 18:22One night, always.
- 18:22One night, all you can drink.
- 18:25Yeah.
- 18:26Night before.
- 18:26Well, you could drink before election day, so you get so drunk, you're too sick to get
- 18:31out of bed the next day.
- 18:33That's my suggestion.
- 18:34It's a deal between Waymo to drive everybody home and all the bars.
- 18:38That'd be amazing.
- 18:39Although I'll tell you this, Wayne.
- 18:40Can we sponsor this?
- 18:41Yeah.
- 18:42I'll tell you this though, Wayne.
- 18:43It might have a negative effect because I would also go to the bars.
- 18:47If everything is free at all the places, I don't think it would just be the young people
- 18:51out.
- 18:52I think a lot of us might go.
- 18:53What if it's like we set like an age limit?
- 18:55It's sort of like how young people commit all the crimes,
- 18:59all the crimes, right?
- 19:00And they sort of go out of that weird stage
- 19:03where they become criminals for some reason.
- 19:06I think we could do the same thing with voting.
- 19:08Or change voting to where you cannot vote until you're 30.
- 19:14Yeah, actually, you know what we should do?
- 19:15We should let people trade in their vote.
- 19:17Be like, I promise not to vote
- 19:19and now I get free drinks all night
- 19:20and see how many young people do that.
- 19:22Like a ticket.
- 19:23Yeah, yeah, you bring your ballot
- 19:25and you can't vote anymore.
- 19:27That's a good idea.
- 19:28Like free dream tickets if you don't vote.
- 19:31Yeah, that'd be hilarious.
- 19:32Yeah, while they love mail-in balloting on the left,
- 19:34maybe the bartenders or the bar owners
- 19:36can fill them out as Trump votes
- 19:37and just or whoever votes and send them off.
- 19:40Wow. If people would just listen to us.
- 19:44I know. This is a very mob guy, very illegal decision that we're making.
- 19:48Like, let's get all the young people drunk so they don't vote at the election.
- 19:51Is that illegal?
- 19:53I don't know. Who knows? I'm not a lawyer. You're not a lawyer.
- 19:57You know what? When people on my staff, I talk about something and they'll say,
- 20:02you know, we can't do that. That's illegal.
- 20:04I always ask the question, but is it a felony?
- 20:10because if it's not a felony, it might be worth it. I don't know.
- 20:15Yeah, you're right. If I'm not going to do hard jail time, is this the kind of thing
- 20:18that I might still want to do? I don't know. Yeah. Can I get this expunged from my record?
- 20:22That'd be great. Just think it out loud. All right, we got to take another break. We do have
- 20:27a lot of actual stuff to get to. It is a Friday though, so we probably want to have as much fun
- 20:31as we can today because darn it, I said this to you, I think maybe it was Monday or Tuesday this
- 20:35week sometimes when I look at the news especially when I'm trying to prep this
- 20:39show either before I go to sleep or when I wake up it's I just don't want to talk
- 20:43about it and I know it's important I know we got to talk about it we will but
- 20:47you even asked me about JD Vance calling somebody a weasel the other day and how
- 20:51that's playing and I don't know I it's some of this stuff just does seem stupid
- 20:55some of this stuff does seem like we could just go a different road yeah you
- 20:59There's just so many ways to tell people how bad Democrats are for the economy, for our
- 21:12standing in the world, and Europe likes the weak America.
- 21:18They don't want a strong America.
- 21:21Look, I like the Europeans just fine.
- 21:24My family's from Europe.
- 21:25I'm European.
- 21:26I get it.
- 21:27But I don't really want to emulate them in the way they deal with the world. Yeah
- 21:33So I just I just don't I don't like I don't say go France go I just
- 21:39I just don't right. Yeah, I hear you man. I don't know I
- 21:45Totally true and it's funny because it does seem like right now these little tiny things
- 21:51matter more to the side that's trying to remove people from power than they do to
- 21:56the side that's trying to keep people in power. I will tell you though and it's
- 22:00funny and you're gonna think this is weird because you're gonna look at my
- 22:03site and say you do a lot of schoolyard bully crazy nonsense whatever but I don't
- 22:09really I don't really it doesn't reach me when the vice president calls somebody
- 22:17a weasel like we're in fifth grade in a school yard.
- 22:21And there's so many other things to warn people about.
- 22:27These people are going to raise your taxes.
- 22:31It's not, they're not going to make it more affordable.
- 22:34They're going to make it less affordable.
- 22:36Yeah.
- 22:36And I, there's just, it's so obvious what two Democrats do.
- 22:41Yeah.
- 22:42There's certain things you know about.
- 22:43They make our lives worse.
- 22:44Right.
- 22:45Well, they certainly raised taxes.
- 22:48There isn't a tax they've seen that they don't like.
- 22:52If you run a business or if you work in a business, they make you do things in this
- 22:59business that Republicans will say, you know what?
- 23:02Go live your life.
- 23:03But no more regulations.
- 23:05We're not going to do all this nonsense.
- 23:07We're not going to worry about the two horned, thin, livered, lizard's existence to stop
- 23:14building an entire city. We're not doing any of that, right? But because that's what Democrats
- 23:19do. I mean, we already know that people don't like Democrats. Now, obviously we're doing
- 23:26a thousand things to shoot ourselves in the foot. And I say us because I'm a Republican,
- 23:30right? So we were shooting ourselves. I'm on the red team, right? We're shooting ourselves
- 23:35in the foot every day. And maybe we, maybe they're enjoying it. Maybe they think, and
- 23:43And that's part of my problem with the basis is because they just think that it's funny
- 23:51all the time.
- 23:52And the reality is there's a lot of people that just don't think it's that funny.
- 23:57Yeah.
- 23:57And just know, well, and I react to it.
- 23:59And honestly, even if you're not mad about it, because I don't care if he calls somebody
- 24:03a weasel.
- 24:04And sometimes I do laugh at that stuff still occasionally, depending on, and this was about
- 24:08Abdul El-Sayed, who does seem like a weasel.
- 24:10So even more so like it's fun.
- 24:12But truth is true. I mean he was a weasel.
- 24:16No, yeah, but at the same point what you're saying and what I think is very true is,
- 24:19is this shtick, if that's what you want to call it, this behavior, it isn't working like it did in
- 24:252016. It's not new. I think I said this, I can't remember when I think it was a conversation we had,
- 24:32but Trump's not a novelty anymore. Trump is a well-fleshed out sort of person. And so his
- 24:40behaviors that used to be jarring in the world of politics and refreshing in the world of
- 24:45politics because no one behaved like him, we've now seen that show for too many years
- 24:50to have that be enough.
- 24:52We need more and we need substance now, you're saying, to actually really get people across
- 24:56the line.
- 24:57But all right.
- 24:58Go ahead.
- 24:59Because whether you're a diar conservative or a diar left-wing freak, we all knew there
- 25:06are certain truths.
- 25:08The reality is there is great inequality in wealth, which is fine.
- 25:16Some people are more successful.
- 25:17Some people are lazy schlubs, right?
- 25:19And they sit around smoking weed all day, right?
- 25:22They don't do anything.
- 25:23So I get that part of it.
- 25:26But we would be lying to ourselves if we didn't say over the last 10, 20 years, the wealth
- 25:34is really getting like this, right?
- 25:36Like the rich people are doing great, but like the regular folk, right?
- 25:42And those are a lot of our voters, right?
- 25:45The, we're the party of the America, right?
- 25:49The regular folks.
- 25:49No, we, the Republican party has absolutely transitioned into being a party that does appeal to a lot of the working class.
- 25:55And I think what you're saying is absolutely true that the wealth disparity in this country,
- 26:00and this is the thing that makes younger voters so mad, has gotten larger.
- 26:05It continues to grow.
- 26:06The wages for people living within the middle class have not grown to the degree of anything else.
- 26:12And that is a problem because some of these things, and I know it sounds so left, but acknowledging that we do see...
- 26:21Well, here, acknowledging that we do see the same problems the left sees, but we absolutely disagree on the answers, is not left.
- 26:27I don't have to deny that the problem exists to demonstrate that I'm totally willing to find a different answer than socialism and communism and the terrible stuff.
- 26:36They're talking about but yeah, there's a lot of people today
- 26:38Who can't do what people a certain number of years could have done in order to get like a first home?
- 26:44It's just it's not as achievable with a same amount of demands
- 26:48There are more demands around it and honestly and this is the other big problem with younger people
- 26:52Most of them went to college and most of them now carry a gigantic debt that makes their life much harder
- 26:59And this is something that and I'm not I'm not blaming anybody but them they signed on the dotted line
- 27:03and they made the decision to go to school
- 27:05and school probably brainwashed them more than it needed to.
- 27:09But there were generations
- 27:10where more people didn't make that decision.
- 27:13Even if college was more affordable,
- 27:14there were a lot of people like,
- 27:15you know what, now I'm gonna do this.
- 27:17And trades right now, you can make a ton of money
- 27:20in a lot of places if you go directly into a trade
- 27:22because there's so few people doing it.
- 27:25Hey look, people who've watched me over the years
- 27:27knows that I, and look, I don't believe in a box, right?
- 27:32We all think different things about different things and I don't like government regulation,
- 27:38but I'm a guy that's often said that I thought we made a huge mistake deregulating public
- 27:44colleges in Texas.
- 27:47That what we have created are these massive bureaucracies, football aside, right?
- 27:53I put football in the category of fun stuff.
- 27:56Sure.
- 27:57But football aside, we've created these silos where tuition rates skyrocketed after you
- 28:06said, hey, go charge what you want.
- 28:09Have a good time.
- 28:10They went crazy.
- 28:12For professors that may teach one class on a Thursday at 8 a.m. for an hour, and then
- 28:19the rest of the time they're studying the mating habits of a four legged African swallow.
- 28:27And I'm going, why?
- 28:31So that's why it costs a fortune.
- 28:32Right.
- 28:33Yeah.
- 28:33And a bunch of the kids will study something that has absolutely no chance of being their
- 28:37actual career.
- 28:38And then they waste all that money.
- 28:41Why can't we say that?
- 28:42And why can't we also say that healthcare is screwed up?
- 28:46I actually think the Republicans, if they didn't do it so half heartedly, actually have
- 28:52a good idea.
- 28:53Let's take the insurance companies, instead of sending Obamacare money to them, send it
- 29:01to the people.
- 29:02Will some just go out and get drunk?
- 29:05And not, sure, maybe.
- 29:07You may have that kind of fraud, but that could also be policed.
- 29:12But let people buy the insurance they want.
- 29:15And if they want to buy it from, like, you know, Cousin Vinny's, you know, insurance
- 29:22in, like, Cleveland, Ohio, let them do it.
- 29:25Big fan of Cousin Vinny.
- 29:26Who cares?
- 29:27I know we have Jimmy Axon, so I'm going to go to him, and then I know we probably have
- 29:29to take a break.
- 29:30But let's get Jimmy Axon first.
- 29:32Jimmy, what do you want to say?
- 29:35Hey, guys, enjoying the discussion.
- 29:38But I think there's a deeper discussion here, and that is, you know, we Americans, Western
- 29:44and Civilization, we always want to try to discuss...
- 29:48Well, we never discuss causes. What's caused well to me? How do we go address that? And I think, you know, it all starts with our school system, first of all.
- 30:04And the fact that we have built a lack of accountability within schools, that we have
- 30:11built this monstrosity of an educational bureaucracy that is not about education, it's about jobs,
- 30:21it's about infrastructure, okay?
- 30:25It's about building $150 million schools, okay?
- 30:29It's about building a system where the government will create five separate schools to educate
- 30:39one in the government school system, but in the private system we can do that with two
- 30:46schools, first through eight and then ninth through 12.
- 30:51And we've not discussed.
- 30:55Yeah, I did also want to say Jimmy because I think what's really interesting about this and I was just looking up the numbers on
- 31:01It too like without going to school if you decide to go into a trade your average median salary your first year
- 31:07This is an 18 year old who just got done with high school
- 31:1054 to 68 thousand dollars a year and it goes quite rapidly up toward a hundred thousand dollars
- 31:16Within the first five to ten years of a lot of trades
- 31:19So what's really interesting is that as we discuss this and say there's a lot of people that are no longer in the middle
- 31:25If you were a two household or two income family, if you have a wife and you both work and one of you is in a trade,
- 31:31there's a lot of likelihood that you're making up to $200,000 by the time you're in your late 20s. And then in that
- 31:37situation, just financially, you'd be capable of a lot of the things that other generations were capable of.
- 31:43But people just don't go in to those fields anymore. Go ahead. But Craig,
- 31:47we have told young people that that's a second class life. I know.
- 31:52Okay, we've told kids, we've brainwashed them,
- 31:56that you have to go get a four year degree.
- 31:58Well, a college degree, a bachelor's degree today,
- 32:01is probably equal to a high school diploma.
- 32:05It is.
- 32:06Wayne, when you and I were growing up, okay,
- 32:08cause you and I are probably 20, 25 years older than Craig.
- 32:13But that's what it's worth today, okay?
- 32:15But the lack of accountability,
- 32:17The lack of the fact that every single person in this country has an opportunity, has an
- 32:27opportunity to get an education, to make good decisions, and to achieve in this country.
- 32:35But we've coddled them, and we've told them, oh, it's OK.
- 32:40We're just going to pass you through.
- 32:41And then you're going to end up drinking a 40 and smoking a blunt all day and blaming
- 32:47the man.
- 32:49And that's okay because now we've got your vote.
- 32:51Now we've got your vote.
- 32:53Yeah.
- 32:54Oh yeah.
- 32:54And that's what this is about.
- 32:55It's about creating a whole voting block of dependency.
- 33:00And that's what the Marxists and the communists have tried to do.
- 33:04And in some ways they're succeeding.
- 33:05And you know what?
- 33:07Yeah, exactly.
- 33:08Well, as Wade was saying.
- 33:09Look at all these riots in France right now.
- 33:11Well, and as we're talking about this, as we're talking about this, one of the things
- 33:15I keep thinking about is my nephew, who I've mentioned before in the show.
- 33:18He's 19 years old.
- 33:20He just graduated high school and he talked to his dad about not going to college because
- 33:25he started a lawn care company, a landscaping company, when he was 16 that is taking off.
- 33:31He's got like 40 or 50 clients.
- 33:32He's hired some of his friends to work for him and he's doing kind of well.
- 33:36And so he said dad I'd rather see if this can continue to grow with me fully investing in it and my brother was so thrilled
- 33:43By that he's like absolutely like I don't have to pay for school
- 33:46You're gonna go do your thing and I bet you in three or four years
- 33:50The kid will have a house and he'll be a 20 something with a house
- 33:53That isn't supposed to exist in our current society because he developed a landscaping company at 16 and had it keep growing
- 34:03But the whole point here is that we have brainwashed several generations.
- 34:08I know, I know.
- 34:09But when you watch them fighting the brainwashing, it's amazing.
- 34:14Yes.
- 34:15All three of us, I guarantee, because I've listened to your show and I know your background,
- 34:20all three of us all started with nothing.
- 34:24Okay.
- 34:24Parents with nothing.
- 34:26But we made good decisions.
- 34:28We worked hard.
- 34:30Okay.
- 34:30and we got ahead in life, okay?
- 34:33Nothing was handed to us, but we've made this whole system
- 34:37believe that you, us three, had an unfair advantage.
- 34:42That's right.
- 34:43Because of the color of our skin.
- 34:44Yeah, you're a white guy.
- 34:45Aren't you white?
- 34:46I knew he was white.
- 34:47Yeah, he's a white guy, yeah.
- 34:48He's a privileged guy.
- 34:49I know, he's terrible.
- 34:50All right, well, thank you, Jimmy.
- 34:51I know we gotta take a break, but go one more thing.
- 34:53If you wanna say one more thing, go ahead.
- 34:54No, go ahead.
- 34:56No, but believe it or not,
- 34:58I am actually legally Hispanic.
- 35:02My mother is full.
- 35:05No, for real.
- 35:06My mother is 100% seven generation Costa Rican.
- 35:11And so guess what?
- 35:12I count for the quota.
- 35:13There you go.
- 35:14Leave it at that.
- 35:15Well, darn your GEI hire.
- 35:17Jimmy, thank you so much for the call.
- 35:18You know, we used to in this country,
- 35:21and I think a lot of law enforcement still does.
- 35:24Hispanics are white.
- 35:25When you get the numbers back in the day,
- 35:28Oh yeah. It was white and black. Yeah. The Hispanics were white. So technically he's
- 35:33white. He's got privilege. He's got like Hispanic white privilege. I didn't even know that was
- 35:38a thing. I tell my wife about that. It's a thing. Okay. All right. We got to take a
- 35:41break. A lot to get to. A lot to talk about. Thank you to Jimmy for calling in on the voice
- 35:46of Texas KSEV radio. The Mob Guys, 700 a.m.
- 35:55Join the conversation. Call Craig and Wayne now at 281-558-5738. That's 281-558-KSEV.
- 36:05KSEV radio. This is 700 a.m., the voice of Texas. I am Craig Coglianese. He is Wayne
- 36:12Dolcefino. And I have a piece of audio that I got to send to Jack because I can't really
- 36:16play it from where I am but I think we also have a call that we'll get to here in just
- 36:20a second but we were just talking off air about something that we actually also discussed
- 36:25yesterday the Talarico CNN thing and we really should have played more than audio
- 36:30yesterday and I know that we have it so we'll do it today but his abortion answer is probably
- 36:36the one that's getting the most traction now.
- 36:38Yeah it was interesting Craig because I came up last night you know got to see my son Anthony
- 36:43adult you know personal injury lawyer hire him but I got a few months that and
- 36:48one of the first things he said to me my son is a very strong practicing Catholic
- 36:55he's like the altar guy at the church he's really very strongly Catholic yeah
- 37:02right and what I told you off the air and there's nothing I say off the air
- 37:08that I wouldn't say on the air.
- 37:09Well, maybe.
- 37:11You know what I mean?
- 37:12But I'm saying that I don't I'm
- 37:15not a what I call a religious
- 37:16vote. Right.
- 37:18Like my personal
- 37:19faith isn't necessarily
- 37:21in my think about it, you know,
- 37:24intellectually, not the driver of
- 37:25my vote.
- 37:26Yeah. But my son, who's
- 37:28a young part
- 37:29of that young religious
- 37:33movement in the country,
- 37:36was very offended when Talarico said that the Bible was silent on abortion.
- 37:43And if you remember it, even the lady that was like having that little mini chat with him,
- 37:49even she pushed back.
- 37:51And I just was asking you whether or not you thought that was a thing.
- 37:56Yeah, well, and it's not that she, I only think she just pushed back.
- 37:59She went even further than that because what I thought was really interesting about that answer,
- 38:04She goes, you know, people that are Catholic are offended by the thing you just said.
- 38:08Like she actually told him that not only is he wrong, but he also just kind of made her
- 38:14mad insulted, I think might've been the word that she chose, which is a really important
- 38:19thing.
- 38:19But look, I got to send that to Jack and Jack's got to play it off of his computer.
- 38:22So let's get to Sharon first.
- 38:26And then, oh, we also have Chris calling in from spring.
- 38:28So we'll try to get to both.
- 38:29And then after that, we'll play the audio.
- 38:31Sharon, what did you want to say?
- 38:34Hey, I wanted to talk about the prospect that y'all have been kind of bouncing around all week about that Paxton should debate Talarico.
- 38:45And I want to say just the opposite. I want to go contrary to that because I think so far, first of all, if he debated, it would be a setup because he's already been set up by National Narrative all over National.
- 39:02media, all the propaganda media that that Paxton is the lesser, less the lesser
- 39:11candidate that Corning would have been better and Texas made a huge mistake to
- 39:15choose Paxton. So it's already under that that that umbrella of national media
- 39:22that's coming out saying that and that three martini guy you had on the radio
- 39:26earlier in the week he said the same thing. He did. And so I'm just saying all
- 39:30this national narrative stuff, Paxton is under that umbrella already. And so what is he doing
- 39:36right now? He's taking a bus tour through Texas and he's talking to people. And where has
- 39:42Talarico been? The weasel. He disappeared for what, 13 days. Nobody knew where he was,
- 39:49checks into a mental institution. I mean everybody now knows that that, that,
- 39:55Colorado
- 39:56Well here, Sharon, before you get too far from your initial point, you do not think
- 40:00that they should debate.
- 40:01I want to let us respond to that.
- 40:03Wayne, what do you want to say in response to that?
- 40:05So look, to me it's not as important in terms of debating as in terms of defending yourself.
- 40:16And look, I think in a way you turn your inability to debate into potentially a positive.
- 40:26Look, I'm not a fancy debater, right?
- 40:30And Mr. Talarico's got some fancy Bible words that he likes to say from a Bible that ain't
- 40:36my Bible, okay?
- 40:38But there are ways to do that to where the expectations are so low for Ken Paxton.
- 40:44on a debate, unless he like says something outrageously stupid, it's a chance for him
- 40:54to call out Talarico for, you know, you talk real nice, but here's your voting record.
- 41:02Here's how you voted.
- 41:03Two years ago, you voted this.
- 41:06You did this.
- 41:07I just haven't seen that contrast.
- 41:11The media's not going to help that.
- 41:13Today, the expectations are low for Paxton.
- 41:16Well, Sharon, Sharon, I'll jump in.
- 41:18You literally just said that the national media has been bashing Paxton and claiming
- 41:23that he would be a bad...
- 41:24Even Trump made a joke about it.
- 41:26So I think for that reason, going into the debate, the expectations by most people would
- 41:31be low.
- 41:32But I think Paxton would actually...
- 41:34The reason I'm so supportive of this is I think Paxton would actually do great.
- 41:37He's an intelligent man.
- 41:38He's done a lot of really good things as the attorney general.
- 41:41And so surprising people, when what Wayne is saying is true, is that the expectations are low, and also leaning in to the things that make him not a polished politician, who is in fact usually a weasel, I think even more so, pretends to...
- 41:56But you're going on the premise that this debate is going to be set up with fair questions.
- 42:02They said that they'd do it on Fox News.
- 42:05Okay, well, debates have turned into such a clown show.
- 42:09But it depends on it depends on.
- 42:10See, well, thank you very much for the call, Sharon.
- 42:14I really appreciate it.
- 42:15But here there are ways to mitigate some of that.
- 42:17Yeah, I get what Sharon's saying.
- 42:19OK, but the reality is the expectations of a great amount.
- 42:26But Pat said's bus tour, you know, going to Colleen or wherever he's going.
- 42:32I that's fine. That's fine.
- 42:35Do it. Right.
- 42:36If you want to tour every, you know, do a better war, go to every town in Texas.
- 42:40But I can almost guarantee you that the only people that go to a Paxton event in those places
- 42:46are people that either are all in on Paxton or have to go.
- 42:52I went to the Paxton event that happened here in Houston and it was not well attended.
- 42:57And I talked about that on the radio a couple months ago that I was a little worried at the
- 43:02time that I wasn't seeing a lot of people. And actually, I think Chris and Spring even
- 43:05called in about it. We have another caller on air. I will bring him on with only a couple
- 43:09minutes here. Chris and spring. What do you want to say?
- 43:13Hey buddy. Yeah, well, I mean, Harris County, so you're not going to get a big turn up there.
- 43:18But I did want to follow up with Jimmy X, you know, talking about a voting block in
- 43:22the public school system. What about the voting block that was created in 2008? Sorry, 2009
- 43:29When health care was foisted upon us against our will, they have increased the salaries
- 43:36of nurses, practitioners, pharmaceutical companies.
- 43:39Those people will be voting less the rest of their existence.
- 43:44What a genius, genius ploy by Barack Hussein Obama.
- 43:48Genius, evil, but genius.
- 43:51We need to fix this.
- 43:52Oh, we tried to fix it, but John McCain went thumbs down on us.
- 43:55So, yeah.
- 43:56We'll get it back.
- 43:56The Affordable Care Act was passed in 2009,
- 43:59and it created a very unique situation.
- 44:01Go ahead, Wayne, what do you want to say?
- 44:03I'm going to throw out something,
- 44:05because this is personal.
- 44:07Because I'm sick as a dog all the time,
- 44:10I take a lot of medicine.
- 44:13And quite honestly, because me, I
- 44:15got money coming out my high knee.
- 44:18They say, OK, this medicine is like $400, and I go, yeah,
- 44:23no problem, whatever.
- 44:24I got MS. What am I supposed to do?
- 44:26I'd say, no, I'm not going to take medicine for it.
- 44:28Right.
- 44:28Cause that would be stupid, but I'm in a position to do it.
- 44:33And most people aren't, I look, I think if we don't understand, because I
- 44:40think you said it exactly right.
- 44:41Craig, we need to understand the structural things in our system that
- 44:48aren't working as well as they used to and figure out a non babysitting
- 44:55Christmas tree government solution to it.
- 44:59Okay?
- 45:00Yes, we do.
- 45:00Like the answer is not we're going to take care of you.
- 45:04Don't worry if you have nine children.
- 45:06We'll pay for them.
- 45:07We've got to get out of that thought and say, how do we fix this in the free marketplace
- 45:15as best we can?
- 45:16Amen.
- 45:17We got to take a break, Jack Salome, because we missed a spot.
- 45:19So we got to play a commercial spot and then we got to hit the news.
- 45:22So we'll be back in just a bit.
- 45:24But no, that thought will continue from Wayne Dolcefino, because you're totally right
- 45:28that what we need to do is find an answer to a question that we can't stop pretending
- 45:33rightfully exists.
- 45:34The question has a right to exist.
- 45:36The answer that the left is giving is horrible.
- 45:38We need to do better.
- 45:39Quick break, a lot more.
