Latest / International Flavor: Where the Truth Tastes Better / Who Owns the Sky? Satellites, Cloaking, Star Trek & the Fight Over Truth
Transcript
- 0:00Hello. Good morning. Welcome. It is
- 0:03Wednesday. Isn't this the greatest day
- 0:06in radio? Isn't that what this is on
- 0:09damn radio? Isn't that what we're led to
- 0:13understand? It's certainly what I am. I
- 0:16hope you're picking up what I'm putting
- 0:17down because I am putting down
- 0:20that we have the biggest day in radio
- 0:23upon us here from the Lake Ozark real
- 0:25estate of the art studio coming to you
- 0:27live uh from damradio.comlive.
- 0:31How do you like that? If you feel the
- 0:33urge to call in, please do. That would
- 0:36be uh 5737468020.
- 0:40Somebody's a little loud in my ear. Oh,
- 0:42it's me. Uh let's see. We're going to do
- 0:46thusly.
- 0:47Life is good. So, I got to thinking, and
- 0:50I know that's a scary concept. And what
- 0:52was I thinking about? I was thinking
- 0:54about Star Trek. I was thinking about um
- 0:56of course Star Trek. I mean, what else
- 0:58would you think about in your spare
- 1:00time, but Star Trek? And the the fact is
- 1:05that Star Trek is upon us in many ways.
- 1:08We got robots. Do you remember when um I
- 1:10don't know if you're a Star Trek fan or
- 1:12not, but I like Star Trek up. I like the
- 1:14old ones, but somehow I'm a next
- 1:15generation dude. I got all the next
- 1:18generations, you know. I like to, you
- 1:21know, watch them time and time and time
- 1:23and time time. But I especially, well,
- 1:26there's a number of favorite characters,
- 1:28but probably one of my favorites is the
- 1:31Commander Data, who in 10 years never
- 1:34got promoted. I don't understand that.
- 1:36But uh he he was commander data doing
- 1:40all of his stuff and he was an android.
- 1:44Okay. And didn't want to I don't
- 1:46remember if it was season number one or
- 1:48season number two.
- 1:51Uh
- 1:54he had sex with a woman. He said that
- 1:57she was he was fully functional and uh
- 2:01certainly functional. So we're even
- 2:03there these days. I think it's the
- 2:05reverse, you know, but people have been
- 2:07buying toys for 100 years. I don't at
- 2:09least I'm I think so. I don't know. I'm
- 2:11not out purchasing toys, but if I bought
- 2:13one, it'd be a damn robot.
- 2:16And apparently that's a big deal. So,
- 2:18technology is upon us. But I didn't
- 2:20bring you on the show to talk about sex
- 2:22robots. I brought you on because
- 2:24technology is getting us. and uh
- 2:27technology
- 2:28uh you know there's a I reported a few
- 2:31days ago maybe it was last week I don't
- 2:33know on a uh story coming to us from uh
- 2:36Canada from France from
- 2:40uh several other countries and and
- 2:43Poland I think um Germany for sure they
- 2:48are
- 2:50reinvigorating
- 2:53restructuring their satellite programs
- 2:57because the US is curtailing the use of
- 3:01data. I said something to you about this
- 3:03the other day. They're curtailing the
- 3:05use of uh intelligence. So way back when
- 3:08when I was a young man in uh in the
- 3:11military, I had a uh I I had access to
- 3:15satellite data to seeing pictures,
- 3:19images of the ground, uh you know, in
- 3:23foreign countries from our satellites
- 3:26because we were sending out satellites,
- 3:28right?
- 3:30and all of the pictures that we were
- 3:33taking were pretty much secret. Well,
- 3:37now anybody can get on Google Earth just
- 3:40about anywhere in the world and go and
- 3:42take some things. And there are ways to
- 3:44buy
- 3:45um
- 3:47live feed and see what's going on live
- 3:51at particular places. It's private data.
- 3:54private companies own a lot of these uh
- 3:57a lot of these
- 3:59apparatus, you know, a lot of these
- 4:01satellites. Elon Musk has a [ __ ] pot of
- 4:04them up there in the atmosphere passing
- 4:07out internet to people and uh the
- 4:10Russians are catching up. The Chinese
- 4:12been doing it for a long time. There's
- 4:14talk about lasers being up there and and
- 4:17I got to pondering and pondering what a
- 4:19wonderful thing it is. We sit and we
- 4:22ponder. I was like, you know,
- 4:24if you go back to your Star Trek, even
- 4:26the the the first iter Well, not the f
- 4:29well, I suppose it was the first with uh
- 4:32uh Captain Kirk,
- 4:34he uh uh you know, James Tiberious
- 4:38variety. He had
- 4:42uh engagements, he fights uh with the
- 4:45Klingons, right? and the Romulons. And
- 4:49both the Klingons and the Romulons had
- 4:53cloaking technology. Now, it was pretty
- 4:55funny when they started making the
- 4:57movies with the young kid who was doing
- 4:58all the new the new Captain Kirk, who's
- 5:01actually did an awesome job. I like
- 5:02those movies as well. Those uh showed a
- 5:07new guy and those people had all sorts
- 5:09of technology that Captain Kirk never
- 5:11had. And uh or maybe they did have it
- 5:14and they just couldn't show it cuz our
- 5:15technology was limited. maybe they
- 5:17aren't really from Earth, but they say
- 5:19they're from Earth where they began. And
- 5:21so the, you know, the Vulcans first
- 5:23discovered the um
- 5:26and well that was in a different
- 5:27episode. That was one of the movies
- 5:29where they discovered uh Earth and they,
- 5:31you know, they had to go back in time
- 5:32and save it from the Borg. I mean, that
- 5:34was important. And uh the technology
- 5:38maybe that was it. I don't know. I still
- 5:40can't figure it out in the logical frame
- 5:42of mind and how you walk walk through
- 5:45these very important uh things that you
- 5:48need to know about a non-existent world.
- 5:50Okay. Uh but at any rate, the technology
- 5:53existed to cloak and cloaking something
- 5:57means you make it invisible. I mean,
- 5:59Harry Potter's got an invisibility
- 6:01cloak. You can have a cloak of
- 6:03invisibility and uh you know, I don't
- 6:06have one. And
- 6:09but the US can make
- 6:13invisible
- 6:14the
- 6:16visual waves. They can they can do that.
- 6:20Um because they just shut off the
- 6:23satellites. And what they do is they say
- 6:25uh these satellites uh you can't cuz I I
- 6:29reported to you last week that there was
- 6:30some some time limit they were putting
- 6:32on it where you couldn't get it
- 6:33automatically. you could only get um
- 6:36whatever it was 10 20 hours away, right?
- 6:39You could get that and uh then you now
- 6:43the US is saying that you can only get
- 6:45it um
- 6:48several days later and they've they've
- 6:51engaged in regulation and said that this
- 6:53is uh uh critical that they can't we
- 6:59can't follow troops even 10 20 hours
- 7:01later. They want to make it several days
- 7:03to give them a window to get out because
- 7:05you're helping the enemy. Okay? But
- 7:08understand that there are efforts the
- 7:10other direction. Everybody's doing it
- 7:13and people are up in arms because uh
- 7:16Russia and China are selling Iran data.
- 7:20Um I don't see anything wrong with that.
- 7:23That's the world. We sell all our stuff
- 7:25to uh uh Israel. We sell it all to all
- 7:28over Europe. But the Europeans don't
- 7:30like it because Donald Trump is unstable
- 7:33in a lot of people's views. And so he's
- 7:36blocking it excessive.
- 7:39Interesting fellow. And they they who
- 7:43knows what they're going to do next. You
- 7:45know, a we're going to Greenland.
- 7:47Get on our helmets and off we go. So
- 7:52anyway, I'm thinking about, you know,
- 7:54the these sort of who controls this guy?
- 7:58I mean, Elon Musk gets to tell Russia uh
- 8:02you know, I'm not going to give you any
- 8:06um
- 8:08any I don't know what any access to the
- 8:11internet. So, Russia sends up their own
- 8:13sat their own internet satellites. China
- 8:16sends up their own. It's the technology
- 8:20helps and whoever limits it also helps.
- 8:22But whoever controls the sky controls
- 8:25the truth. Okay? And and that's the part
- 8:29that uh you know the control of the
- 8:32truth. We we only see all the good stuff
- 8:34over here that the stuff well according
- 8:36to us the good stuff but you know oh gez
- 8:39we blew up Russian blah blah blah an oil
- 8:42thing we blew up Iranian this we we
- 8:45killed a train or a bridge a train a
- 8:48bridge for a train in Iran you know we
- 8:51blocked them off and now we've got the
- 8:54uh I don't know what the um um the Kurds
- 8:59coming in to to to fight that battle for
- 9:01us because now we fought off uh or we've
- 9:04separated the two parts of uh of Iran.
- 9:08And by the way, there is no ceasefire.
- 9:10It was a joke anyway. And um
- 9:14an hour later, Israel's bombing the crap
- 9:16out of stuff. UAE, somebody bombed
- 9:19something else. And and uh is and and
- 9:22and you think of the play on this. This
- 9:23is actually a good idea from the from
- 9:26from Donald Trump. It's a this if you
- 9:29I've been accusing the guy of having no
- 9:31strategy. Heg Seth zero strategy. Well,
- 9:34then they didn't think about the or
- 9:36maybe they just didn't believe and they
- 9:38were too dumb to to believe the right
- 9:40people. I don't know. But uh they didn't
- 9:43anticipate the result of the closing of
- 9:46Ormuz. Now they're saying they want to
- 9:48create a new company. Donald Trump make
- 9:51a nickel off of anything, right? We're
- 9:53going to create a new company. The US
- 9:54with Iran will control it. and then
- 9:57we'll split the money. You know, the
- 9:59only reason to do that is to keep it in
- 10:01dollars and not in yuan. That's it. And
- 10:04uh uh and well, and for the US to take
- 10:06the money, although we don't even need
- 10:08the straits of hormuz according to
- 10:09Donald Trump. We don't need it. It's not
- 10:11for us. It's for everybody else. He
- 10:12wants to make money off the Europeans,
- 10:14right? And so I'm not so sure. Um
- 10:20let's let's see here. I want to get back
- 10:23to where I was going. So on April 5th,
- 10:25Reuters said that Planet Labs would
- 10:28indefinitely withhold imagery of Iran in
- 10:32surrounding conflict areas after the US
- 10:35government requested it. Okay. Well,
- 10:38then why am I seeing them on TV all the
- 10:40time?
- 10:41Reuters also reported that this followed
- 10:44earlier restrictions, including a 14day
- 10:47delay, and that Planet would move to a
- 10:50managed distribution model, releasing
- 10:54imagery only in limited cases. Reuters
- 10:57reported on March 10th that Planet
- 11:00already expanded its delay from 4 days
- 11:02to 14 for the Middle East to keep
- 11:06adversaries from exploiting it. Okay? So
- 11:09only the US can control it. that gives
- 11:12uh you know everyone a little bit of
- 11:15pause to think well this is all great
- 11:17you know we want to blow up all these
- 11:18people this is what we want to do we
- 11:20can't have people seeing the effects of
- 11:22the nastiness of war we can't have that
- 11:25it and trust me this isn't for uh
- 11:28targeting they all got that anyway and
- 11:31uh and and they're getting that from
- 11:33different sources so this isn't for
- 11:34targeting this is the effects this is
- 11:36why you can't have it immediately it's
- 11:38not the you know that stuff Maybe that
- 11:42botched operation where they actually
- 11:44turned it into the success. I don't
- 11:46believe that they would send over three
- 11:49C130s and several Blackhawks to go and
- 11:53rescue one man. You know, they wouldn't
- 11:56do that. And that there's something else
- 11:58that that was a result of there. That's
- 12:01idiotic. You know, an air insertion team
- 12:04is a isn't a Blackhawk. I've done it.
- 12:06You can go and and be insert only in
- 12:09training, by the I never never actually
- 12:10got to do it in in wartime situation. I
- 12:13was a Russian interpreter. What the hell
- 12:15are we going to do? And uh but at any
- 12:16rate, uh I did get to do it in in be
- 12:19inserted. You're inserted that way. Or
- 12:22you're inserted through a UH1 and you
- 12:24can jump out of that helicopter on a uh
- 12:26uh you know, drop 3 400 ft. It's about
- 12:29it on a repelling line. And I've done
- 12:32that repeatedly. That was a lot of fun.
- 12:34And in fact, I fell out of one one time.
- 12:37Saved myself. But I should be dead on
- 12:40numerous occasions and that was
- 12:41definitely one of them. But uh uh the
- 12:45insertion team would have been a hell of
- 12:47a lot smaller than three C130s that
- 12:49could carry upwards of 200 men. BS.
- 12:52There's something else going on. And uh
- 12:55that failed is is my thought. And
- 12:58there's a lot of speculation that
- 13:00whatever it was was that the we're going
- 13:02to go steal their uranium. Remember I
- 13:04was having questions about that a few
- 13:05days ago. Anyway, the the visibility of
- 13:09all of this is only government used to
- 13:13have the God's eye view. I was part of
- 13:15it. You know, we could we the the
- 13:17satellite imagery, you you couldn't even
- 13:19talk about it. You couldn't even talk
- 13:21about what you saw on the satellite
- 13:23imagery. Nowadays, gez, everybody's got
- 13:25it. You got it in the palm of your hand.
- 13:27And but way back then, that's what it
- 13:29was. Way back then, sending a text
- 13:31message, you wouldn't believe it. the
- 13:33very I was involved in the very first
- 13:35text messages where oh my god we don't
- 13:38have to speak all we got to do is send a
- 13:40little piece of encrypted data and you
- 13:41had these little
- 13:43they were about an inch and a half thick
- 13:46but they were a solid flat uh cathode
- 13:50ray tube or whatever they were just
- 13:52green like and and and and a uh and a
- 13:55and a blinking green light up on the top
- 13:58and I forget what they called but uh we
- 14:00were experimenting with those they'd go
- 14:02put us behind enemy lines at the
- 14:04National Training Center and play around
- 14:06with those things and say, "Uh, we can
- 14:08text you stuff. You can stay radio
- 14:11silent
- 14:12because all we're doing is sending
- 14:14encrypted data, you know, text message
- 14:17style. Here it is." And you spent
- 14:19billions on that crap. And uh it's like
- 14:23somebody send you a text message, where
- 14:25are you? And I'd send one back going,
- 14:28I'm over here. When's breakfast coming?
- 14:31I'm kidding. But uh uh you know you
- 14:34could it was the first text messaging
- 14:37was in the form of these it was before
- 14:39pagers were really prevalent. Remember
- 14:42people in their damn pagers. Oh, a phone
- 14:44number showed up. I got to run.
- 14:46Everybody's all busy. Now uh uh but the
- 14:49government is the one who was in charge
- 14:51of all that and kept all that stuff and
- 14:53took the technology first. Now
- 14:55technology is available to anybody. I'm
- 14:57truly thinking that since uh Russia has
- 15:00double the number of engineers we do,
- 15:02China has like 10 times as many now,
- 15:05India has so many. In the United States,
- 15:08we put out somewhere in the neighborhood
- 15:09of 100 of of 30,000 a year, and there's
- 15:13a steady uh uh not production, a solid
- 15:16number of those job positions in America
- 15:19that are only in the number of 150,000.
- 15:22I I read you something about this uh a
- 15:24couple of months ago where where we were
- 15:26looking at the engineering uh go out and
- 15:29find one of those cuz on YouTube or on
- 15:30any of those places. Make sure you
- 15:32believe the sources but there's a lot of
- 15:34international sources of engineering
- 15:37and they are in America. You know our
- 15:39schools are crappier our it's we're like
- 15:42number 30 way down in where the
- 15:45engineering comes from. Everybody wants
- 15:47they don't want our engineers. I mean
- 15:49they do but they want engineer. They
- 15:51want the better trained ones are China,
- 15:54India and Russia and uh Iran too. Iran
- 15:57was pretty high up there. Tell you what,
- 15:59the rest of the world's progressing.
- 16:00Anyway, I say all of that because the uh
- 16:04exploitation of the satellite imagery is
- 16:08now
- 16:10um much more difficult because France is
- 16:13going to start sending up their own
- 16:15because the US doesn't want to share. Uh
- 16:17Ukraine wants to send up their own
- 16:19Poland. Think about it. All of these
- 16:21people because it's an un uneven playing
- 16:24field and they got to kiss the rear end
- 16:26of Pete Hegath to get anything and they
- 16:29don't want to do that. They don't want
- 16:30to work with Donald Trump. Donald Trump
- 16:32in the minds of many many many
- 16:34international people uh go from being
- 16:37unstable which uh to being completely
- 16:40erratic. Now I will unstable is a bad
- 16:43connotation. Erratic I'm all over that.
- 16:46That guy is erratic as hell. One day
- 16:47we're going to war, the next day it's,
- 16:50you know, I'm praising Allah. What the
- 16:52hell is that?
- 16:54Something. He's off internationally for
- 16:57sure. And there's something strange
- 17:00going on. So, uh, if the government is
- 17:02who's in charge of the telescopes, you
- 17:05know, so they're try Washington is
- 17:07trying to put a lid on it until they can
- 17:09can destroy a civilization in Iran,
- 17:13right? And they're also trying to do it
- 17:14in other places, but they want to share
- 17:16it with Ukraine so that Ukraine can um
- 17:22um
- 17:24you know bomb Russia, you know, on our
- 17:26behalf. That's how it works. So
- 17:28government, you know, private companies
- 17:30sold the heavens. You know, Elon Musk is
- 17:33selling the heavens by a subscription,
- 17:35you know. So here's your subscription.
- 17:38You can have the internet and you know
- 17:40you're going to pay me what's the little
- 17:42uh device you buy and you can put on
- 17:43your RV 500 bucks cost you 3,000 if it's
- 17:47for a business and then you pay like
- 17:49$100 $150 a month the rest of your life
- 17:51and you got internet everywhere as long
- 17:53as Elon Musk keeps it turned on or you
- 17:58don't live in Russia.
- 18:00If you live somewhere where he don't
- 18:02like you then he just h I'm turning it
- 18:05off there. And what he's actually doing
- 18:07is the reverse too. He's giving it to
- 18:09people that the government doesn't want
- 18:10them to have it to and he's allowing
- 18:12them to so several countries in uh uh
- 18:15Africa. You can't you uh have to have
- 18:18you can't buy an Elon Musk uh receiver.
- 18:22You can't use one. You can't have one
- 18:24because the government won't allow it.
- 18:26Um you know, North Korea, you know,
- 18:28places like that. And so what we're, you
- 18:30know, it's a selective who gets to see
- 18:33what. And the same thing is going on
- 18:35with satellite imagery. So, um I'm
- 18:38saying we're not living in Star Trek
- 18:40yet, but we're kind of a prequel, too.
- 18:42You know, we're watching um um
- 18:47uh we're watching them these things,
- 18:50these technologies come to bear right
- 18:54now. And so, you know, we don't have any
- 18:58cloaking devices for the uh Klingan. We
- 19:00don't have any Federation hollow decks
- 19:03where you can get on and uh create a uh
- 19:05an environment that you can go wander in
- 19:08since you're stuck on a starship for 5
- 19:10years mission. Then you could go on this
- 19:12hollow deck and create some woods that
- 19:14you can walk through with your, you
- 19:16know, little significant other that you
- 19:18found on the Leo deck or wherever you
- 19:21went to. Uh but we do have commercial
- 19:24eyes in orbit that we have. We have AI
- 19:27assisted image analysis which is often
- 19:30wrong. We have immersive projection
- 19:33systems, humanoid robots, and an
- 19:37intensifying global race over who gets
- 19:41sovereign their own access to
- 19:43space-based intelligence. We're even
- 19:46talking about aliens being some some US
- 19:48senator was talking about uh um
- 19:53talking about having some aliens that we
- 19:56already know about it. They're among us.
- 19:58And so that's the news today. Um you
- 20:02know, the science fiction props are
- 20:04definitely, you know, are fake, but the
- 20:06underlying political struggle is is
- 20:08pretty real. commercial hologram systems
- 20:11already do exist for entertainment, for
- 20:14advertising, but all they are display
- 20:17technologies. Like what if Okay, so we
- 20:20talk about here on damn radio several
- 20:23people talk about flock cameras, the
- 20:26cameras that they put up to detect you.
- 20:28Uh the speeding camera, the this camera,
- 20:31the that. So the for several years there
- 20:33was uh and they still are, they still
- 20:36exist. They're marginal uh whether they
- 20:38work or not. Never have all completely
- 20:42wiped it out. But you could either spray
- 20:44your license plate with some substance
- 20:46that made it invisible to cameras. That
- 20:49doesn't work anymore because camera
- 20:51technology doesn't go the way it used to
- 20:53when it was a flash technology. No
- 20:55problem at all because the flash would
- 20:58turn it into a white spot and there's no
- 21:00way you could get around it. And so you
- 21:02could that might work. And they have
- 21:04those covers that uh uh you see on these
- 21:07really low rider cars that uh uh well
- 21:11you see it on a lot of cars, but that
- 21:13that cover the license plate in some
- 21:18like blue like a blue background or a
- 21:21green background so that you don't get
- 21:24an image of it. Uh but there's no such
- 21:27thing. There's AI generated imagery that
- 21:30you could potentially shine onto the top
- 21:33of your house. I suppose, you know,
- 21:36camouflage systems exist that cover
- 21:39entire buildings, you know, but they're
- 21:41a physical piece of uh equipment like a
- 21:44military camouflage net and people are
- 21:47camouflaging those things. They're going
- 21:49underground. They're going into caverns.
- 21:52They're doing something else. And uh
- 21:56you know, how do you I mean, will there
- 21:59ever be a cloaking device? With AI, are
- 22:02we able to share those things or shine
- 22:05those things onto the uh um
- 22:11top of our house and have people able to
- 22:16uh see them.
- 22:18And you know it's
- 22:23let's see it's an interesting world in
- 22:27which we live and sorry I got a text
- 22:31about something and I was making sure
- 22:33that it's uh that all is well. So at any
- 22:37rate, the the technology does exist for
- 22:40creating AI imagery or creating
- 22:45um
- 22:48camouflage sorts of co covers cuz what
- 22:51they're doing is they're generating so
- 22:54there's all kinds of big things that
- 22:57actually work. So, you know, it's not
- 22:59not like we're going to buy a cloaking
- 23:01device at Walmart for our car or our
- 23:03license plate or, you know, or anything
- 23:05like that. But in Star Trek, who's gets
- 23:08the advantage of superior sensors,
- 23:12you know, what they're regulating or
- 23:14what they're attempting to regulate is
- 23:18access to the data at all. the amount of
- 23:22um the amount of
- 23:27information that is available and how
- 23:30accurate it is to what degree. Like um
- 23:34uh arguably they say that you can get a
- 23:37pixel size that on the pixels that you
- 23:39go down to when you go to pixel size it
- 23:42will be as small as uh uh 30 30 um
- 23:51millimeters. I mean it's a small amount
- 23:54and so you can get some very serious
- 23:57detail with cameras today. I mean, I
- 24:00remember the technology that we had when
- 24:01I was serving in the military. They
- 24:03alleged that you could read the date off
- 24:05a dime from the orbit of a satellite.
- 24:09So, a dime laying in the street, you
- 24:10could read the date off it is is is what
- 24:13they were and and it's advanced
- 24:15astronomically since that time. And uh
- 24:19so
- 24:21I mean, you know, this are we able to
- 24:24buy cloaking devices? I don't know. But
- 24:27there's all kinds of stuff. delayed
- 24:29image publication, camouflage,
- 24:32deception, putting something else out
- 24:34there, radar signature management,
- 24:36thermal suppression, cuz remember you
- 24:38can do a thermal camera, too. Jamming,
- 24:41spoofing, creating fake uh tanks and
- 24:44putting them out there having a
- 24:45cardboard tank, you know,
- 24:48and legal restrictions on who gets the
- 24:51data. So Reuters saying that Planet uh
- 24:54you know was restricting all this on
- 24:56behalf of the Trump administration you
- 24:58know is kind of proof of this. The
- 25:00battlefield edge is not only who can see
- 25:02it, it's who can keep others from seeing
- 25:04it. And so that's important. Who owns
- 25:08the sky in all seriousness. The oldest
- 25:11model was pretty straightforward. Major
- 25:13states own spy satellites.
- 25:17Nobody else did. Everybody else had to
- 25:19guess. The new model is a hell of a lot
- 25:21messier. You know, the the frontier is
- 25:24the sky. Commercial firms sell detailed
- 25:29imagery. And that means journalists,
- 25:32analysts, hedge funds, militaries, and
- 25:34hostile actors can all be looking at the
- 25:37same patch of earth. That
- 25:40democratization, if you want to call it
- 25:42that, of overhead imagery is what is now
- 25:45being curtailed by the Democratic
- 25:47states, you know, by by the Trump
- 25:50administration. And I don't know. I I've
- 25:53always been one of those people. I want
- 25:55a level playing field, whether it
- 25:56happens, you know, in T-ball or whether
- 25:59it happens uh, you know, in global
- 26:02thermonuclear war, you know, with Ferris
- 26:06Beller. you know, I or well, he wasn't
- 26:09really Ferris Buer in that one. He was
- 26:11another guy, but same kid.
- 26:13But at any rate, I I always want a level
- 26:16playing field. I suppose I'm completely
- 26:20wrong in that, but I think that hugely
- 26:23unfair wars are crap. You know, there
- 26:27are a lot of people on the planet,
- 26:30including me, that say that you are that
- 26:33you should
- 26:35honor the sovereignty of other nations.
- 26:40You just because you're bigger doesn't
- 26:42give you the right to uh destroy, you
- 26:47know, just that's not how it works and
- 26:50not how it should work anyway. And
- 26:54I'm Let's see.
- 26:57I'm wondering here what we have going
- 27:00on. I'm I'm feeling like
- 27:03JR should call me if if you're listening
- 27:06or even if you're not if this is not
- 27:09working. Um cuz I'm not positive it's
- 27:13transmitting. I think it is but what the
- 27:15hell do I know?
- 27:17Um let's see here. Yeah. Okay. Well, I
- 27:21guess we are. Um but there you go. So,
- 27:25who trusts Washington to give them
- 27:27either accurate data or allow them
- 27:31access to data in a timely fashion?
- 27:35Nobody. Even our allies don't trust us.
- 27:39Well, except Israel. They get it first.
- 27:41You know, if anything, you know, they
- 27:42get it first. And so,
- 27:47I'm I'm sorry that I'm reading a Trump a
- 27:50Trumpism right now. is uh his true
- 27:53social advertising platform. Um at any
- 27:57rate, the you know, everybody owned it
- 28:00before, but now hostile actors can or if
- 28:04you want to call them that, you know,
- 28:05who's the hostile actor depends on
- 28:08what's happening and who you believe.
- 28:10And uh I'm I'm a disbeliever. But the
- 28:14playing field is level only until it
- 28:17matters. the state leans on the company
- 28:20that I if the state doesn't want them to
- 28:23that's regulation. So, but who owns the
- 28:26sky above? Used to be that if you for
- 28:30example uh so many I don't know what the
- 28:32law says anymore. I really don't. But it
- 28:34used to be that uh you know the your
- 28:38property is your property which means
- 28:42the
- 28:46stratosphere above your property. You
- 28:49know, if you could take a straight line
- 28:51from the uh from your
- 28:56property line and go straight up in the
- 28:58air a million miles, anything inside of
- 29:02that million that of your property lines
- 29:04all the way up is still your property.
- 29:07It's true going down to the center of
- 29:09the earth as well, but that depends on
- 29:12the country where you live because some
- 29:14people say it has nothing to do with it.
- 29:16You know, you can't stop somebody from
- 29:19flying a
- 29:21drone over your property. Or can you?
- 29:25What if I wanted to drone your house and
- 29:27see if you had hidden oil reserves
- 29:31underneath with my drone so that I could
- 29:33uh go and steal them or say, "Hey, you
- 29:37know, I wonder if they got that that uh
- 29:40that car they stole from my garage. I
- 29:43believe he stole it. Why don't I just
- 29:45fly over his house with this little uh
- 29:47drone thing I have and we'll fly on over
- 29:50there and we'll catch a view of my car
- 29:53in his yard or not cuz it's under the
- 29:57ground or it's in a garage or it's
- 29:59whatever. But who owns the land above or
- 30:02the sky above your house? Who owns the
- 30:04dirt below? Well, if you drill for oil,
- 30:06you own the oil below, too. But what if
- 30:09it's a huge pool of oil? This created
- 30:11all kinds of cool stuff in property uh
- 30:13law in uh law school
- 30:16because sometimes you have these huge
- 30:19aquafers of water and people are
- 30:21fighting for the water, but one guy
- 30:23builds a well and starts selling it to
- 30:25everybody else and they're going, "But
- 30:27wait, the aquafer goes under my
- 30:29property, too. I own the water beneath
- 30:31as well." Yeah, but you didn't build a
- 30:34well. You know, I built the well and I
- 30:36can charge you for the water coming out
- 30:39of my well because once it hits my well,
- 30:42it's my water. You want water, build
- 30:44your own well
- 30:46and otherwise pay me. And it depends on
- 30:49the state, depends on the country,
- 30:50depends on a lot of stuff. And so, at
- 30:53any rate, this uh uh these
- 30:58nobody trusts their neighbor anymore to
- 31:00provide them water for free even though
- 31:02they own part of it. Certainly, it's
- 31:04even 10 times worse if it happens to be
- 31:06oil or some valuable mineral that
- 31:08everybody has access to. You know what?
- 31:11If I go underground and discover a a
- 31:14stream of gold that runs from my, you
- 31:17know, underneath I dig a dig a mine in
- 31:20my house, but then I keep going under
- 31:22yours and there's plenty of gold under
- 31:25yours. Well, you own the gold below your
- 31:28house, but I ain't going to tell you cuz
- 31:30I'm I'm down in my own mind. build your
- 31:33own damn mind. And so what if I'm under
- 31:34your house? Well, it matters a lot if
- 31:36the house falls in, but it doesn't
- 31:38matter so much if not and all I'm doing
- 31:40is stealing your gold. So, at any rate,
- 31:43it's if if Washington all these laws
- 31:46develop over time, and let's let's talk
- 31:48about for something that is so foolish,
- 31:52but it could be fun. Uh, cling on cloaks
- 31:55are definitely fiction, you know, the
- 31:56cloaking device. Uh, but real cloaking
- 31:59is bureaucracy. It's electromagnetic.
- 32:02Uh, you know, they can stop you from
- 32:05seeing it through collection, jamming. I
- 32:07worked in a collection and jamming
- 32:08platform. So, collection would be we
- 32:10would listen to opposing uh, you know,
- 32:12alleged enemies. We would listen to
- 32:14their traffic on the radio set of
- 32:16headphones. You listen to what they're
- 32:18saying. Jamming would be we would
- 32:20prevent them from talking to each other
- 32:22by jamming their signal,
- 32:25overpowering their signal so much with
- 32:28this big buzz
- 32:30and it go like that. Seriously,
- 32:32and when and we could push a button and
- 32:34and leave it on, you know, walk away and
- 32:37fry their radios because they were that
- 32:40powerful. You know, there's a story at
- 32:42Fort Hood of uh way back when when we
- 32:45were doing it. And uh Fort Hood is
- 32:48outside of Colleen, Texas. And there's
- 32:50story that allegedly was in our unit,
- 32:53although I certainly don't recall it. I
- 32:55know we got chastised once or twice for
- 32:57it for the because we had these big
- 33:00jammers that would uh that seriously we
- 33:03had 20 times the power of a local radio
- 33:05station in a local I mean we blew them
- 33:09off the air. Not I mean intentionally
- 33:12not intentionally whatever but but they
- 33:15uh they were gone and it would fry their
- 33:17transmitters. Now, I don't know the the
- 33:20actual stuff, but I do know that there
- 33:22were times when they would come down and
- 33:24say, "Are you guys jamming again?
- 33:27Are you on the because they would have
- 33:30frequency bleed and it would take out
- 33:32certainly the AM's and the FMs, too."
- 33:34And I learned a little bit about how
- 33:36that worked and it was like, "Wow, these
- 33:38people, you know, just the fact that,
- 33:40you know, that uh there are straight
- 33:42line modulation and then there's up and
- 33:44down modulation." And I hell if I knew
- 33:46the difference. All I knew is if we push
- 33:48the button,
- 33:50some we could knock people off the air.
- 33:52And so this technology stuff, you know,
- 33:56radar is still a big deal. Everybody
- 33:58wants their radar saying, but everybody
- 34:01is decoying camouflage, object
- 34:04detection, evasion systems. Um, but they
- 34:07don't have true invisibility yet. Uh but
- 34:10you can make machines hesitate,
- 34:13misclassify,
- 34:15misread, not see the same. And so the
- 34:18the radar you NASA explains that
- 34:21synthetic aperture radar is designed to
- 34:25generate fine resolution imagery from
- 34:28radar while orbiting. An industry
- 34:32emphasizes the practical consequence of
- 34:34this. Um these systems synthetic
- 34:38aperture radar sir work at night through
- 34:41the clouds through the smoke. Uh Saab
- 34:44discussing the satellite threat from a
- 34:47defense perspective talks about
- 34:49camouflage solutions aimed at defeating
- 34:53Satellites.
- 34:55This tells you two things at once. The
- 34:56threat is real, but nobody seriously
- 34:59believes a simple visual trick is enough
- 35:02anymore. They're trying to figure out
- 35:04how to jam a satellite. Okay. Now,
- 35:06allegedly there's going to be satellite
- 35:08warfare. I read an article a little bit
- 35:10you know maybe I don't know within the
- 35:13last year I read this that allegedly the
- 35:16uh the Russians and Chinese have laser
- 35:21uh style
- 35:24satellites
- 35:25that can fire a laser from orbit either
- 35:28to hit another uh another satellite
- 35:32orbiting take it out or to uh take out
- 35:36something on the ground with a laser.
- 35:40Now, I've seen and I don't you don't
- 35:42know if it's um
- 35:44AI generated or what. You really don't
- 35:47know that.
- 35:49But I've seen some drones that allegedly
- 35:54can
- 35:56destroy another drone or a piece of
- 36:00equipment with laser. and uh that I saw
- 36:03some on on YouTube or on Telegram or
- 36:06something that were that would fly up
- 36:08and in Ukraine use this laser to hit
- 36:11something. Well, a laser,
- 36:14correct me if I'm wrong, I'm no I'm no
- 36:16technical guru when it comes to this,
- 36:18but if if if a laser is shot, that laser
- 36:22line continues forever, does it not? It
- 36:26may weaken over time, but if you're able
- 36:28to target something with a laser and you
- 36:32hit hit the the
- 36:36drone or whatever it is you're taking
- 36:38out, wouldn't the laser continue after
- 36:41that
- 36:42and and you know, you hit that? What if
- 36:46what if that is,
- 36:49you know, a a
- 36:52what if there's a house behind the drone
- 36:54and you know there's a baby sleeping in
- 36:56a bed and your laser takes out the
- 36:58drone. Woo! And then goes through the
- 37:00window or through the house, it's a
- 37:02laser, burns a straight line and there
- 37:04it goes like in the science fiction
- 37:06movies. Is that what we're talking
- 37:08about? And uh what if I assume that in a
- 37:12straight line in space that a laser is
- 37:15not going to go around the curvature of
- 37:17the earth? I would presume that it can't
- 37:19that it's going to go straight forever.
- 37:22So would that laser then hit uh you know
- 37:24another planet some so some so far away?
- 37:27Who knows? So I don't understand all
- 37:29those things about laser technology
- 37:31obviously. But uh I I've seen some of
- 37:35this stuff out and technology is really
- 37:37getting us. So, we cannot buy any hollow
- 37:39deck emitters that'll hide our ranch
- 37:41house from orbit. We still can dig a
- 37:44huge underground um bunker that we can
- 37:47live in. Uh but militaries and engineers
- 37:50are working on ways even now, and some
- 37:53of them already exist, to confuse,
- 37:55degrade, or outsmart what satellites
- 37:58andor the algorithms that run them can
- 38:01effectively see.
- 38:04So, I'm I'm I don't know. I was just
- 38:07interested in this because of the of the
- 38:10ability to uh
- 38:13block people from,
- 38:17you know, taking things. We have
- 38:19increasingly sophisticated immersive
- 38:22projection,
- 38:23holograph style display, and mixed
- 38:27reality. I mean, everybody's buying
- 38:29these glasses, you know. There was a
- 38:30pair of glasses. I forget what it's
- 38:32called. Uh Google glasses. Google
- 38:35something. Maybe it wasn't Google, but
- 38:37there are these glasses that you can buy
- 38:39for 300 bucks and is is the ones I saw.
- 38:44And and who knows? I assume that the
- 38:46more money you spend, the better. But it
- 38:49is an AI pair of glasses. Now, get this.
- 38:53the AI glasses. Uh, one of the shows
- 38:57that they were not shows, one of the
- 38:58commercials they were having was that a
- 39:01guy
- 39:02with his Google glasses was riding a
- 39:06bicycle and as he was riding his
- 39:08bicycle, and now imagine this, I like
- 39:10riding the Katy Trail. I'm thinking of
- 39:12doing it this weekend, you know, going
- 39:13up and and plugging away. I really want
- 39:17to buy a new bicycle and I might make
- 39:19the plunge. But, uh, anyway, uh, if this
- 39:22guy's riding his bicycle down a a trail
- 39:25or, you know, and as he's going down the
- 39:29trail,
- 39:32the
- 39:33AI is identifying, for example, oh, look
- 39:37at that tree on the left hand side
- 39:39there. That's a uh an elm tree, you
- 39:42know, and and you can tell the
- 39:44distinctive lights. And this thing is
- 39:46giving you as you go uh information. You
- 39:50know, if you listen to your AI on your
- 39:52um satellite uh radio anymore in your
- 39:56car or or you're using Google Maps or
- 39:59whatever, uh you will get police are
- 40:01reported up ahead. There's an object in
- 40:03the highway. There's a guy pulled over.
- 40:05Avoid this route. You know, go through
- 40:07all of these things and those are
- 40:09instant access to information. And I
- 40:12always It says, "Is the policeman still
- 40:13there?" and you know click yes or you
- 40:15know cuz it's on your screen right and
- 40:18or no he's gone you know click that or
- 40:20there's an accident is it cleared out
- 40:22you know so people are having sort of
- 40:24real time uh data like this and
- 40:30all of these things are no longer well
- 40:33first of all they're no longer
- 40:35government I mean way back when you know
- 40:36Sam and his text messaging device in the
- 40:39in the late 80s or mid 80s was uh you
- 40:43very novel and having the ability to do
- 40:47that where it was more than just a phone
- 40:49number that was entered in or a you know
- 40:52beep beep beep would didn't tell you
- 40:54what you had to you just knew you had to
- 40:56call the person who sent you the beep
- 40:58you know and before telephones and uh or
- 41:02check your messages you know call in and
- 41:04and have your messenger but now
- 41:06everybody's involved so there's a place
- 41:10you know these virtual production
- 41:12environments where they're creating ing
- 41:13fake, I don't know, missiles and showing
- 41:16them all over the place. Um, and you
- 41:19fool the technology or maybe you can
- 41:22fool the technology. It's uh uh you know
- 41:25all these holographic style displays for
- 41:273D depth effects. There's something
- 41:30called hypervision markets. They have a
- 41:32large format 3D display system and a
- 41:36projectionmapped immersive environment
- 41:38already routine in the entertainment
- 41:40industry. And that's not the USS
- 41:43Enterprise, but it's the same human
- 41:45impulse. Build a convincing synthetic
- 41:48environment and let people step inside
- 41:50of it. I've been having a a a you know,
- 41:53there's a desire I have, but I haven't
- 41:55been able to pull the pull the trigger.
- 41:57I might because I still want I still
- 42:00want one. you know, I'm I'm going to
- 42:01build a sauna first, but I think I want,
- 42:04in fact, I know I want one of those
- 42:06Pelaton
- 42:08um bicycles that has the huge screen on
- 42:11it. There was one that I used years ago
- 42:14on a regular basis in some uh workout
- 42:17facility or other that you could pick a
- 42:20trail that the bike uh the tensions
- 42:22would adjust as you rode and it was
- 42:25really pretty cool. So, you could go on
- 42:27a bike ride without leaving your house.
- 42:30And uh you know that's I don't remember
- 42:32what they cost was 67,000 bucks. I think
- 42:35they've come down since then. But you
- 42:37know the equal uh equal um use of time
- 42:42and money was like no not 7,000. Would I
- 42:47spend 2500? Maybe. But you know that
- 42:51that depends on how long it lasts. But
- 42:53that kind of crap never lasts or the
- 42:56technology is, you know, totally
- 42:58different in a couple years and you no
- 43:00longer want it, you know. So I just
- 43:02still have my regular old exercise bike
- 43:04and that's it with nothing cool on it.
- 43:06But alleg
- 43:09a screen on your tablet or your phone
- 43:12and create the same effect without and
- 43:16some of them connect to your like you
- 43:18connect your iPad to your bicycle
- 43:20machine. And you know, Schwin makes a
- 43:22bunch of those and uh so do other
- 43:24people, but um I've researched them a
- 43:26little bit. But anyway, we're nowhere
- 43:28near a Zoom, a scale of interactivity,
- 43:32anything like that to build a convincing
- 43:35synthetic environment that is totally
- 43:38real that could generate full physical
- 43:41trails, detective stories, you know,
- 43:44like Shakespeare, you remember on Star
- 43:46Trek when Data fought
- 43:48Professor Morerti? That was a lot of
- 43:50fun. And uh but we are already in the
- 43:54world of synthetic uh presence. We are
- 43:57there. We are in the world of data and
- 44:01sexual robots, you know. We don't have
- 44:03data yet, you know, who's going to live,
- 44:06you know. But you wonder about these
- 44:07robots, these uh I want to go to uh
- 44:10China. I'm trying to get to India this
- 44:12year for the bricks conference um coming
- 44:15up. It's in October. And uh I'm very
- 44:18much interested in that because um this
- 44:21is the third time that India's hosted
- 44:22the conference. Their web pages are
- 44:24looking pretty good. I'm going trying to
- 44:26figure out the approval processes even
- 44:28now. And I've never been to India. I
- 44:32think next year it's in China and I and
- 44:34I and I'm you know looking forward to
- 44:36that. But uh I I'm going to keep track
- 44:39of the bricks. I never got to Brazil
- 44:41last year and it still pisses me off.
- 44:43There was I forget what was going on but
- 44:45it but the timing was off. Family issue
- 44:47of some sort but uh it it was pain in
- 44:50the ass but we have the first drafts
- 44:52robots are there. You know there's uh
- 44:56you know I don't know about wisdom. I
- 44:59don't know if D has the brains of data,
- 45:02but uh allegedly uh you know, men in
- 45:05China and Japan are buying these uh
- 45:07these uh female robots and avoiding the
- 45:11uh relationship altogether. You know,
- 45:14you just find yourself a yeswoman and
- 45:16move on. And uh that's what they're
- 45:19doing. So, who can tell? So, the Planet
- 45:23Labs place uh the heavens are no longer
- 45:25fully open to the public because of
- 45:27wartime. Um, Star Trek, you know, we got
- 45:3150 years of scient fiction that told us
- 45:33whoever controls the the sensors and
- 45:36cloaking devices controls the
- 45:38battlefield, right? So, we knew that
- 45:40already because I served in that area of
- 45:43of training and I and I know about it.
- 45:45But today countries are building their
- 45:48own sovereign
- 45:50constellations of satellites because
- 45:54they don't depend they won't can't uh
- 45:58you know refuse to depend on
- 46:00Washington's goodwill any longer.
- 46:03Private firms are leaned on by the US
- 46:06government and real cloaking race isn't
- 46:10fake. You know, it's not magic
- 46:12invisibility, but hiding from optical
- 46:14sensors, from radar, and from AI. So
- 46:18whether or not the future belongs to
- 46:20those who can see everything or those
- 46:22who can hide everything or those who
- 46:24decide who gets to see everything or the
- 46:27things that they have hidden, every one
- 46:29of these is is a current report. You
- 46:33know, remember satellite imagery felt
- 46:35like u only the CIA and a handful of
- 46:39people like me with the right clearance
- 46:41could see it. Well, that world is gone.
- 46:44Commercial companies have the sky, you
- 46:47know, for sale, you know, for they're
- 46:51selling you the sky. Well, why do they
- 46:53own the sky? That's another, you know,
- 46:55why? Because they took the chance to
- 46:58harness the sky. We have people planning
- 47:00to go to the moon and harness the moon
- 47:02and steal all the crap up there before
- 47:03the rest of us get a chance. Well, maybe
- 47:05that's something we all need to be uh uh
- 47:08you know very um appreciative is of. But
- 47:12what the hell? Is it going to be a
- 47:14private company? Is it going to be some
- 47:16kind on behalf of the world or just on
- 47:18behalf of uh a few? It's always going to
- 47:21be just a few who have the most money.
- 47:25Let's see here.
- 47:28Well, let's see. I have a caller online.
- 47:32Would you have something to add?
- 47:35>> Hey. Uh, yeah. Um, do you suppose the
- 47:39straight is open?
- 47:41>> No, that's it's it it won't be open to
- 47:45any of the people uh bombing the crap
- 47:47out of uh Lebanon or Hezbollah like
- 47:51Israel. They're not going to get out.
- 47:52And if the UAE is still in there and um
- 47:57uh still bombing, which they were
- 47:59yesterday, uh because yesterday, right
- 48:01after the um the alleged ceasefire
- 48:06between the US and Iran, Israel said,
- 48:08"Well, it doesn't count for us. We're
- 48:11bombing everybody anyway." And then all
- 48:13the other people in the area started
- 48:15bombing back and forth and uh
- 48:17everybody's still burning. So, uh, are
- 48:20we I never took it seriously yesterday.
- 48:24I But maybe maybe my thought on this is
- 48:28that maybe this is Donald Trump's exit
- 48:32and he can say, "Well, I tried, you
- 48:34know, and we're no longer involved and
- 48:36the US is out." No, I don't believe
- 48:38that. Not yet. But if he's going to get
- 48:41out, it's the only reasonable way to get
- 48:43out would be to have all these allies
- 48:45and people and have the US go, "No, no,
- 48:47we're the reasonable ones. We stepped
- 48:49away and they still hate Iran, so
- 48:51they're still bombing them with our
- 48:52stuff, just like Ukraine is bombing
- 48:54Russia with our stuff."
- 48:59>> Yeah. I don't I don't understand how you
- 49:00can claim a victory when
- 49:03when everybody's still shooting but us.
- 49:06>> Well, but the worst part of it is is is
- 49:08not this. You you you you start a war
- 49:11when the straight was already open
- 49:14knowing that these people could close a
- 49:17straight or if you didn't know, you
- 49:19should have known. And then you say,
- 49:21"Yeah, hey, we opened the Straits of
- 49:23Hormuz. Woohoo! Aren't we great?" No,
- 49:25you're not. You're a bunch of morons
- 49:27because it was already open until you
- 49:30started a war.
- 49:33Do have you ever have you ever watched
- 49:35those um uh I guess he's just a
- 49:38spokesman for the IRCG that that that
- 49:41real militant dude.
- 49:42>> Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They have they have
- 49:44those translated into English and
- 49:46they're they're pretty funny because
- 49:47every every third sentence is uh praise
- 49:50be to God. But but you know what? I have
- 49:52met um Arabic people who do talk that
- 49:56way and they talk you know they they not
- 49:59not
- 50:01they do praise God a lot. Let's put
- 50:02that. But I've met Americans who do the
- 50:04same thing. You know, every every, you
- 50:06know, tenth sentence is something about,
- 50:09you know, uh, God says this and, you
- 50:10know, all of that. And I, more power to
- 50:13him. You know, you have your beliefs, I
- 50:14have mine. And I and I would never
- 50:16dictate what yours should be. But I have
- 50:19watched that guy and and uh he's he's
- 50:21the head of the IRCG at this point.
- 50:24Right.
- 50:25>> What I was going to say is uh he he'll
- 50:28tell you exactly what they're going to
- 50:29do. I I uh you know, you was talking
- 50:32about you should know the straight's
- 50:33going to close. Uh it the the the man
- 50:37the man spells out their game plan. Uh
- 50:40he you know, he he says it it's it's
- 50:43starting in 24 hours if if they keep if
- 50:46they keep on and then you know then they
- 50:48start up they're they're on wave it's
- 50:50day 40 or 41 and uh
- 50:54>> No, it's more than that. I forget the
- 50:55day. Here we are on on day um on on day
- 51:00because it was February 28th when it
- 51:02started. Well, whatever it is, doesn't
- 51:04matter. It's here's the day and here's
- 51:06what we're sending out.
- 51:07>> Yeah.
- 51:09>> Anyway, uh they uh
- 51:13when the treaty was supposed to or the
- 51:15ceasefire was supposed to be happening,
- 51:17uh they they they were on wave 100 and
- 51:21they and they uh they hit the uh Saudi
- 51:24Arabia facility. They had 13 uh oil oil
- 51:28facilities for in in in the area. They
- 51:32they they went to they they've been
- 51:34threatening uh going to hit oil
- 51:36infrastructure and uh and they did.
- 51:40>> Yeah, I know. And and and they they keep
- 51:43telling them um they say they're doing
- 51:46it so that get your civilians, get your
- 51:48workers, get out of this factory cuz we
- 51:51are coming. And they're pretty they're
- 51:53pretty standard about it. and they say
- 51:55what they're doing and frankly nobody
- 51:57can stop them. They've they've they
- 51:59they've gone after our if anything and
- 52:03and I've always been, you know, a
- 52:04patriot. I believe in America. I believe
- 52:06in all that stuff. Um I also believe the
- 52:09lies um like everybody else did that our
- 52:13patriots and our air defense are
- 52:16superior to anyone else's and can stop
- 52:19all of these missiles. They can't
- 52:21anymore. And and when you're spending a
- 52:24million5 or whatever it is to fire a
- 52:26Patriot at at uh 10 $5,000 drones, you
- 52:32got a million and a half versus uh you
- 52:34know 50,000. Who the hell's going to
- 52:36win? And and which one does the Patriot
- 52:40missile have to pick out to blow up? And
- 52:43so just the sheer volume of these are
- 52:45defeating this so-called Iron Dome. all
- 52:49of these other things. The technology
- 52:51doesn't exist to stop them all. You may
- 52:54get a majority of them, but there's the
- 52:56numbers that I've been following since
- 52:59the Ukraine war start well started in
- 53:02earnest in 2022 where they where they
- 53:05were actually Russia defending the
- 53:06people that Ukraine's been bombing since
- 53:092014. they um those I've been following
- 53:14and it's about 8 to 10% of all missiles,
- 53:18all drones that I if not more, but at
- 53:22least that many go through. And every
- 53:24day, Russia is firing 2,000. So 20 of
- 53:28them are getting through every day. I'm
- 53:30sorry, 200. And every day, uh Ukraine is
- 53:34firing back 150, 200 themselves. And
- 53:37it's just you your air defense can't
- 53:40keep up with it. It just can't.
- 53:44>> Well, uh with with your um
- 53:48talk about the the radar and the
- 53:50deception and stuff. U
- 53:53you um it it's crazy how how's anybody
- 53:56going to trust our leader when when
- 53:58they're on there saying, "Oh, we we got
- 54:00them pretty much wrapped up." and um
- 54:02Hifa. They pretty much left the people
- 54:05of Hifa on their own.
- 54:07>> Yeah, I know. And and I I've seen all of
- 54:09those. And And don't accuse me of trust
- 54:12in our government. I do not. And I don't
- 54:15believe I I believe maybe just like the
- 54:19drones, I believe about 10% of what is
- 54:22being put out about the Middle East
- 54:24right now. I wouldn't want to be there
- 54:26right now, but I'm telling you, I don't
- 54:29believe anything.
- 54:30>> Do I What? Do you think it's good pol do
- 54:33you think it's good policy for our
- 54:34president and the war secretary to come
- 54:37on the air and go, "Oh yeah, we're we're
- 54:40killing them when when people are going
- 54:43to find out." You know, like you like
- 54:45you said about that botched mission for
- 54:48the uranium. You know,
- 54:50>> there's a lot of people saying that
- 54:52>> uh
- 54:53that that uh u that weapons systems
- 54:57officer
- 54:59um made it a 100 miles all [ __ ] up
- 55:02through the desert.
- 55:04>> Mhm.
- 55:05>> And climbed the mountain, right?
- 55:07>> In a day,
- 55:08>> right?
- 55:10>> Yeah. I can go 100 miles in a day on my
- 55:13bicycle, but uh uh you know the rest of
- 55:16it uh I doubt I'm riding a bicycle
- 55:19through the mountains of Iran. Let's put
- 55:21it that way.
- 55:22>> Well, they need to tell better stories.
- 55:24I mean, it's embarrassing that that they
- 55:26come out and say, "Uh, we're smoking
- 55:27them." It's like, man, get a damn TV,
- 55:30dude. You know, uh uh Jr. believes it. I
- 55:34I tried to call him yesterday and and he
- 55:36wouldn't take a phone call cuz he knew I
- 55:38was going to tell him to
- 55:39>> Yeah. But but but but Jim, you bring
- 55:41some of that upon yourself though. And
- 55:43uh uh and and I I will, you know, you
- 55:45you remain calm, remain nice, and don't
- 55:48beat up on everybody and call them,
- 55:50>> you know, and and an be offensive, I'll
- 55:54keep talking to you. No problem.
- 55:56And you know, if you if you took that
- 55:59approach more than just getting on and
- 56:01calling everybody stupid, you know that.
- 56:03And I'm not saying you do that anymore,
- 56:04but you're not you know, I I don't I
- 56:06don't always take your call. You know
- 56:08that.
- 56:11Yeah. Well, I I just think it's it's a
- 56:14that's one thing for him to I mean
- 56:17>> Well, I think he's wrong, too. He and I
- 56:19argue about it all the time. He J.R. and
- 56:21I argue about this. I enjoy arguing with
- 56:23JR about this because he is he is solid.
- 56:26He believes it all. I don't I don't
- 56:28believe 10% of it. You know, most of it
- 56:30is just crap.
- 56:31>> He doesn't believe it all either or he
- 56:32would have looked it up yesterday when I
- 56:36>> Well, he doesn't believe it all anyway.
- 56:38I've exaggerated that a little bit, but
- 56:40he he he leans toward belief and and
- 56:44believes towards a a larger picture that
- 56:47someone is in charge of and keeping
- 56:49track of. I do not I think it's the
- 56:51blind leading the blind, especially in
- 56:54Iran. That's what I, you know, in the
- 56:57war, you know, whatever they're doing
- 56:58there. And they made some huge mistakes
- 57:00in the very beginning. I believe along
- 57:02the lines of multiple professional
- 57:06uh political and very worldsavvy people.
- 57:10I don't bo I don't believe the so-called
- 57:13experts in the Pentagon because I've
- 57:15been there. Those people say what
- 57:17they're paid to say. They justify
- 57:20anything. So because they get paid to
- 57:22justify it. I could hire an expert to
- 57:25say anything. I've done it as a lawyer.
- 57:27You could you could if I need an expert
- 57:30to say that you were injured because mom
- 57:32dropped you on your head when you were
- 57:34two, then I'll find an expert to say,
- 57:36"Yeah, that's pretty likely." Or I'll
- 57:38find another one and say, "Oh, no, no,
- 57:39no. That was something else. It would
- 57:41never happen because of that." And then
- 57:42you have the war of the experts. It's
- 57:44the exact same damn thing in the
- 57:45Pentagon. They just pay people to say
- 57:47what they want them to say so that they
- 57:48can tell the public that this is what
- 57:50what it is. And it's all [ __ ] It's
- 57:52not right.
- 57:53>> They Well, they tried to tried to purge
- 57:55the experts pretty much. is all Fox
- 57:58hosts now.
- 57:58>> Well, but they're not experts anyway. If
- 58:00they're if they're paid for their
- 58:03opinion,
- 58:05then they c they cannot be I mean they
- 58:08they have to you have to get somebody
- 58:10who has the education to say something.
- 58:12The problem is the people that they're
- 58:15relying on do not have that background
- 58:18and they do not understand the world
- 58:20except from a a a transactional sphere.
- 58:24And fine, I' I wouldn't want to go
- 58:26against them in a in a in a meeting to
- 58:28buy a power plant, but in a meeting to
- 58:31uh sit or or to build a building, but to
- 58:34sit down with these yahoos and try to
- 58:36negotiate the terms of a of an agreement
- 58:38between Iraq, between Iran, between
- 58:42Israel, anybody. Pick it. Ukraine and
- 58:45Russia. These people are morons. We've
- 58:47seen who's been running this. And it's
- 58:49all the stupidest people that that have
- 58:52no idea what they are talking about,
- 58:55including the Lindsey Grahams of the
- 58:57world who are so twisted that all they
- 59:00are is selling more and more weapons and
- 59:04more and more war and you know might
- 59:06makes right. That's it. It's a bad world
- 59:10we live in.
- 59:10>> Hey, let me let me get one more in. Uh
- 59:14what
- 59:16what what do you think about a state
- 59:17university? When I listen to all these
- 59:19shows, people go, "Oh, you don't know
- 59:20who to trust. You you can't trust them.
- 59:22You can't trust medicine. You can't
- 59:24trust science." Wouldn't Wouldn't it be
- 59:26nice to have a state state-run
- 59:28universities where where you had had
- 59:31research labs and and kids that were
- 59:33smart enough to know a little bit about
- 59:36something,
- 59:37>> everything's politicized when you do
- 59:39that. Now, and by the way, so so one of
- 59:41the things that I what I've loved to do
- 59:45and and and Russia has one. I've talked
- 59:47about it on this show before. They have
- 59:50a politically guided and it's all about
- 59:53politics and it's all about the whole
- 59:56school is the school of international
- 59:59affairs and we have similar programs
- 1:00:02like you know I could name some you know
- 1:00:05whatever institute inside the university
- 1:00:07of whatever inside Harvard University
- 1:00:09has an international program or whatever
- 1:00:12and you can find these but these are
- 1:00:14sponsored by the government.
- 1:00:17Well, right. They're all lunatics. They
- 1:00:19all depend and the people who run them
- 1:00:23are guided by the exact same thing. They
- 1:00:25have to have the right philosophy or the
- 1:00:28board of curators of whatever university
- 1:00:30will boot them out and go, "Nope, you're
- 1:00:32teaching you're not teaching, you know,
- 1:00:34gay rights. You got to go." Or vice
- 1:00:36versa.
- 1:00:38>> If if you have 50 states, you have 50
- 1:00:41different
- 1:00:4450 different universities.
- 1:00:45>> Well, I you know what? I'm not a
- 1:00:47federalist. I I I like the state part
- 1:00:49except when it comes to education
- 1:00:52history to uh licensing in fact I
- 1:00:55believe that licensing in just a state
- 1:00:57like if you go to Russia, Russia is a
- 1:00:59lot bigger than us and and you get a
- 1:01:01license to I don't know sell fertilizer
- 1:01:04that license you can sell fertilizer
- 1:01:06anywhere inside of Russia. Here in
- 1:01:08America your fertilizer you can sell it
- 1:01:10only in the and I'm making that one up
- 1:01:12you know I don't but I'm I'm just
- 1:01:13picking a license. Um, you can like I
- 1:01:16have to be a real estate um broker. I'm
- 1:01:19a broker in Missouri and I'm a broker in
- 1:01:21Florida. Why if I'm a m a property
- 1:01:24broker, why can't I do it? Do you know
- 1:01:26what I did in law school? I took a class
- 1:01:28on property and and I understand the
- 1:01:31issues in property because of I had a
- 1:01:34law license. Now, the trouble is you can
- 1:01:38only get a law license in one state and
- 1:01:40Missouri right now is is refusing. Now,
- 1:01:43I can't get a license in any other state
- 1:01:45because Missouri screwed me. But that
- 1:01:48doesn't mean I can go to another state
- 1:01:49and get one. And that's crazy. It makes
- 1:01:52no sense to me at all because here
- 1:01:55they're corrupt. They're wrong. And then
- 1:01:57they have a system that is backwards and
- 1:01:59screwed up. And I talk about it all the
- 1:02:01time and it but I'm but I'm right. But
- 1:02:05then why can't I then go somewhere else
- 1:02:07and uh and get a license? It's complete
- 1:02:09crap. because I have a couple of
- 1:02:11bureaucrats who hate me. That's it.
- 1:02:14You're echoing in your in your thing
- 1:02:16here.
- 1:02:17>> Well, all right, ma'am. I appreciate
- 1:02:18your time. I'm going to let you go.
- 1:02:19You're on that.
- 1:02:20>> I'm on a roll, huh?
- 1:02:22>> Yep. Yep. Yep. I'll see you later.
- 1:02:25>> All right. Well, that was a nice caller.
- 1:02:27Thank you for being kind and uh uh and
- 1:02:30not just beating up on people. I like
- 1:02:32that. So, I will I will take your calls
- 1:02:35more often if you like.
- 1:02:37Well, Star Trek gave us cloaking
- 1:02:39devices.
- 1:02:41Washington gives us delayed imagery
- 1:02:43release a customer service email, you
- 1:02:46know, to complain, you know, if you'd
- 1:02:48like to to uh whoever, you know, the
- 1:02:51CIA, whoever you want. The playing field
- 1:02:53is level only until it gets serious.
- 1:02:57Only until we want to steal your oil.
- 1:03:00We're going to Iran. We're going to
- 1:03:01steal your oil. Uh Trump's going to take
- 1:03:04over the Straits of Hormuz and call it
- 1:03:06the Straits of Trump, but they'll spell
- 1:03:07it with a G and an H, which is crazy.
- 1:03:10And uh uh you know, you know, you can't
- 1:03:13hide your cousin in the shed in orbit uh
- 1:03:16you know, with a holographic projector,
- 1:03:18you know, from from uh Amazon or Teimu.
- 1:03:21You can't do that, unfortunately. So,
- 1:03:25uh, you know, and even if he does hide
- 1:03:27in your shed, they're going to see him
- 1:03:29from above anyway because they have, uh,
- 1:03:31heat sensors and they can show that your
- 1:03:33cousin is in there. Well, not exactly
- 1:03:36your cousin, but pretty soon we'll have
- 1:03:38uh, chips in us that can identify where
- 1:03:40we are on the planet anyway, right? So,
- 1:03:44the holiday doesn't exist yet, but you
- 1:03:47can buy a pair of glasses that you can
- 1:03:49uh pretend that you know, you see those
- 1:03:51v those videos you can watch on YouTube
- 1:03:53or wherever on Telegram and you can see
- 1:03:56these people, you know, that start
- 1:03:58boxing. You remember getting the the
- 1:04:00boxing thing with your Wii way back when
- 1:04:02and you were doing boxing with these
- 1:04:04things, people beating up their TV with
- 1:04:07these glasses on because they don't know
- 1:04:09where they are cuz the glasses lead them
- 1:04:12lead them astray. and they're that's
- 1:04:14where they live. And um I don't know um
- 1:04:19I'm not sure I want to go too far into
- 1:04:21the Israel and Iran and the air defense
- 1:04:23and the Straits of Hormuz because um
- 1:04:28it it's
- 1:04:31what they're doing on these satellites
- 1:04:32and AI detection and everything like
- 1:04:34that. You know, I told you about the uh
- 1:04:36the the submarines underneath the um the
- 1:04:40mini subs that Iran has and whatever
- 1:04:42number it was, 10, 20 of them, can't
- 1:04:44remember. Wasn't a huge amount, but uh
- 1:04:47those aren't gone. Apparently, they
- 1:04:49can't be tracked. And so those little
- 1:04:50mini subs are still cruising around in
- 1:04:52the Straits of Hormuz. Uh and they're
- 1:04:55they're mine layers. They can lay these
- 1:04:57mines. And so if they have a map of
- 1:05:00where they are, then you know, and
- 1:05:03people find out where th those are, you
- 1:05:05know,
- 1:05:07I'm I'm interested in these intelligent
- 1:05:09sorts of things and how they hide stuff
- 1:05:11and where I still would prefer a level
- 1:05:13playing field. I'm anti-war in general.
- 1:05:16This is all a bunch of, you know, you
- 1:05:18realize the people dying aren't the
- 1:05:20people that should be. People dying
- 1:05:23ought to be the ones declaring war in
- 1:05:25the first place. Those are the people
- 1:05:26that ought to be there. If you want to
- 1:05:28fight, do it yourself. You know, quit
- 1:05:31sending other people to die for your
- 1:05:33false ideology crap. You know,
- 1:05:36democracy. We got to put democracy on my
- 1:05:39ass. We don't have democracy. We have
- 1:05:42bureaucracy. That's what we have. And
- 1:05:44so,
- 1:05:46it's uh uh irritating to me. But that
- 1:05:50was pretty much uh where where I wanted
- 1:05:52to go. That was I thought that was a fun
- 1:05:54topic. Uh when I woke up in the middle
- 1:05:57of the night, I was looking at something
- 1:05:58like one of these restrictive things
- 1:06:01going, "Who in the hell's in charge of
- 1:06:02that?" You know, this is nuts. How come
- 1:06:05how come Elon Musk gets to decide that I
- 1:06:08get internet or I don't? And if Trump
- 1:06:11says no, you're not going to get it. But
- 1:06:12he'll give it to Ukraine who are a bunch
- 1:06:14of, you know, they're murderous of
- 1:06:16Russians. Well, what's what difference
- 1:06:19does it make if you're going to murder
- 1:06:20people? Have a have a have a a level
- 1:06:22playing field. you know, let everybody
- 1:06:24murder each other. You know, you make it
- 1:06:27fair killing at least.
- 1:06:29Let's have a fair killing, fair war,
- 1:06:32right? That's what the uh uh Geneva
- 1:06:35Convention is supposed to give. You
- 1:06:36know, war crimes include blowing up
- 1:06:39infrastructure and bridges for the just
- 1:06:42to blow up infrastructure and bridges,
- 1:06:44blowing up salinization plants, blowing
- 1:06:46up or desalinization and blowing up uh
- 1:06:50uh oil fields, blowing up um picket
- 1:06:54energy facilities so that people we're
- 1:06:57going to blast you back in the stone
- 1:06:58age. That is a war crime. That's what
- 1:07:01we're going to do. And we just flat out
- 1:07:04say it and and it doesn't, you know,
- 1:07:06like my Nubenzia discussion yesterday.
- 1:07:09We're openly saying we're going to
- 1:07:11destroy a culture. We're going to
- 1:07:15destroy it. We don't like your culture.
- 1:07:17Therefore, we're going to destroy it.
- 1:07:20But the other part of the culture, you
- 1:07:22know, who who uh you know,
- 1:07:25do what we say, kiss our rear ends in
- 1:07:28the Middle East, those people, you know,
- 1:07:30we'll decide that their culture, which
- 1:07:32is basically the same as your culture,
- 1:07:35that's a religion. Yours is not a
- 1:07:37religion. Nonsense. And uh uh and by the
- 1:07:40way, that there's a dispute on that as
- 1:07:43well. You think there aren't extremists
- 1:07:44on all sides, there just are. There are
- 1:07:46Christian extremists.
- 1:07:48You know, I disagree with poly polygamy.
- 1:07:51I disagree with it. However, I'd never
- 1:07:53tell anybody that if there if that was
- 1:07:55their uh desire. I mean, I'm totally
- 1:07:58against it. I think it's BS. Hell, I
- 1:08:00could barely put up with one and let
- 1:08:03alone a million of them or a pile of
- 1:08:07them. had I'll tell you the story but uh
- 1:08:09but I won't um cuz something interesting
- 1:08:11on that regard happened whilst I was in
- 1:08:13Qatar and uh it was a very interesting
- 1:08:17period of time uh working with that
- 1:08:20gentleman.
- 1:08:22Now I have to tell you no it it had to
- 1:08:23do with polygamy and getting another
- 1:08:25wife and and what uh what what um they
- 1:08:28were going to do and the political
- 1:08:30ramifications thereof inside of Qatar
- 1:08:32and stuff like that. It was entertaining
- 1:08:35uh if nothing else and a a good learning
- 1:08:37experience but not for sharing on a mass
- 1:08:40level except uh you know that's what it
- 1:08:42was. So I wanted to also you know talk a
- 1:08:48little bit about this um
- 1:08:51alleged pause
- 1:08:54in
- 1:08:56um
- 1:08:59warfare. Yeah, right.
- 1:09:02Let's see.
- 1:09:04The rhetoric of Donald Trump who
- 1:09:07threatens a whole civilization is going
- 1:09:09to die tonight is suddenly deescaliza
- 1:09:13deescalation.
- 1:09:15By the end of uh the 7th, it was
- 1:09:18announced that the US and Iran had
- 1:09:20agreed to a two-week ceasefire. Shortly
- 1:09:23afterward, Israel said it would join.
- 1:09:26Over those two weeks, starting this
- 1:09:27Friday, negotiations toward a permanent
- 1:09:31peace dealer deal will be held in
- 1:09:33Pakistan with or held, I'm sorry, with
- 1:09:36Pakistan acting as the mediator.
- 1:09:39This is exactly the scenario
- 1:09:43that you know was listed as being the
- 1:09:45most likely from the very beginning of
- 1:09:48the conflict.
- 1:09:50And this was uh grinding stalemate
- 1:09:56strategic failure. You know the strategy
- 1:09:59mirrors America's earlier operation in
- 1:10:02Venezuela. Eliminate the country's
- 1:10:04leadership
- 1:10:06there. it was through theft uh uh
- 1:10:08stealing, abduction of the leader or
- 1:10:11direct assassination in Iran, you know,
- 1:10:14and then effectively the surrender of
- 1:10:16the new regime which is forced to accept
- 1:10:19terms set by the attackers. So, it's
- 1:10:22uncertain how long Iran could hold out,
- 1:10:25but the plan failed. Despite the hints,
- 1:10:27Washington's new leadership also refused
- 1:10:30to engage in negotiation. Iran withtood
- 1:10:33the initial blow. uh they have external
- 1:10:36support from China and Russia. There
- 1:10:39have been no public statements uh but it
- 1:10:41something is happening. Um so those
- 1:10:46things all did occur and but the war
- 1:10:50will resume. Hell it already has you
- 1:10:52know it didn't last 2 hours the the
- 1:10:54ceasefire
- 1:10:56but they are moving toward a reality
- 1:10:58where the Gulf is becoming uh more
- 1:11:02Persian. uh Iran effectively controls
- 1:11:05the shipping in the Gulf and holds the
- 1:11:08Arab oil monarchies at risk and the US
- 1:11:12seems to be accepting that. Now the
- 1:11:14people who are not are the UAE and
- 1:11:17certainly not Israel because they won't
- 1:11:19let it stop. Let's assume that even if
- 1:11:22the hostilities last months or years
- 1:11:26even if no formal deal materializes the
- 1:11:29ceasefire will just be extended over and
- 1:11:31over again. And I talked to you before
- 1:11:33about ceasefires are complete crap
- 1:11:35anyway. And uh um it's
- 1:11:40just
- 1:11:44it never ends and it will never end.
- 1:11:47Even if it does end, they're going to uh
- 1:11:50um have it um
- 1:11:55let's say it does end. It'll be they'll
- 1:11:57wait another year and do the exact same
- 1:11:59thing. This is what's going to happen.
- 1:12:01So the Arab states are going to be
- 1:12:03building a new generation of air defense
- 1:12:05for sure. And so the blueprint is rely
- 1:12:08on cheap mass-produced interceptors
- 1:12:11such as Russia's penser or air launched.
- 1:12:14Both Arab states and Israel will focus
- 1:12:16on this because they got the crap kicked
- 1:12:18out of them by Iranian missiles. Um the
- 1:12:22second priority is going to be
- 1:12:23diversification of logistics. New
- 1:12:26pipelines to the Red Sea to find
- 1:12:28alternatives to the Gulf shipping
- 1:12:30routes. the goal break free of the
- 1:12:32straits of Hornum M chokold and reduce
- 1:12:35Iran's leverage. So for countries like
- 1:12:37Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, pipelines
- 1:12:42across the Arabian Peninsula would mean
- 1:12:45dependence on another regional power,
- 1:12:47Saudi Arabia and transit fees cuz Saudi
- 1:12:51Arabia certainly wouldn't do it for
- 1:12:53free, right? But none of this solves the
- 1:12:56core problem. The geography in the Gulf
- 1:12:58makes full protection impossible.
- 1:13:00There's more than 500 nautical miles uh
- 1:13:03out of an old, you know, think about it.
- 1:13:07It's narrow. It's a like an old arcade
- 1:13:09game. Imagine Galaga. Every shipping
- 1:13:12lane within Iran's reach along the
- 1:13:15coastline, ports, factories,
- 1:13:16desalization plants, oil storage
- 1:13:18facilities, data centers, hotels,
- 1:13:21skyscrapers are exposed targets.
- 1:13:23defending all of that from the sea is
- 1:13:25extremely difficult. And right now, the
- 1:13:27Arab states are going to choose to pay
- 1:13:30for safe passage. So, at the end of the
- 1:13:32day, they don't really care who provides
- 1:13:34the security. They used to pay the US. I
- 1:13:37mean, what difference does it make if
- 1:13:39they pay Iran? They're paying the US to
- 1:13:41secure them, right? But the US isn't
- 1:13:44securing them, right? These are things
- 1:13:46to think about. The price isn't even
- 1:13:48steep. about two million bucks per super
- 1:13:51tanker, which is only two to 3% of the
- 1:13:54value of the oil on board. Anyway, the
- 1:13:57buyers who are buying it are going to be
- 1:13:58the ones who fit the foot the bill in
- 1:14:00the first place. So, I don't know. The
- 1:14:03second scenario,
- 1:14:05new escalation. It's already happening.
- 1:14:07Or low-level clashes under Iranian
- 1:14:10control of Hormuz. You'll still have
- 1:14:12those, I think, and we may go further
- 1:14:14into that. Um, so we shall see. I hope
- 1:14:20you've enjoyed the show. It's a little
- 1:14:21short today, but that's all right. Um,
