A shocking shooting erupted in downtown Tucson on July 19th, leaving nine people wounded but no fatalities. The incident began when 21-year-old David Leroy French opened fire on East Congress Street before fleeing toward police officers already on scene. One officer, seven-year veteran Wolverton, confronted French and fired after he refused to drop his weapon. French was hospitalized and now faces multiple felony charges, including nine counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
