- 0:01The silver and gold markets are presenting us with some
- 0:04fascinating data, fascinating opportunities, but recently
- 0:08silver in particular has been presenting us with some real
- 0:12volatility quickly. Let's remember basement
- 0:15dwellers, especially when it comes to silver, volatility is
- 0:19point part of the game. We want to look at the big
- 0:22underlying fundamentals and we want to have a long term time
- 0:27horizon. If you're with me, if you think
- 0:30that the silver price is going to go much higher, I have a
- 0:32feeling you are with me. But let's look at some crazy
- 0:36data coming out right now about both the silver and the gold
- 0:39markets. We're going to start with gold.
- 0:41This one absolutely floored me. Came from our friend Make Gold
- 0:47Great Annualized. The largest gold miner on Earth
- 0:51is now on pace to generate more free cash flow than Coca-Cola,
- 0:57Oliver tells us. Unprecedented leading gold
- 1:01producer Newmont just announced that they generated over 3
- 1:04billion in free cash flow in Q1 of 2026, setting a new record.
- 1:10That's more than $100 million in free cash flow per day.
- 1:14Why do we want to pay attention to that?
- 1:16Because when the markets, when the general markets wake up to
- 1:19what's going on in the precious metals mining sector and that
- 1:23money starts to flow into those big mining companies, it's going
- 1:26to bring more money into the entire precious metals
- 1:29ecosystem, including physical silver.
- 1:33And including physical gold, 'cause we know that in March,
- 1:37the Western United States investors sold like what, 13
- 1:41billion in gold? I digress.
- 1:43Let's look at the data for silver.
- 1:45Cuz when you think about what Newmont just said, think about
- 1:48what the silver miners are going to be presenting to us very
- 1:52soon. And we will go out here to our
- 1:54friend Solve Nutteg for this one.
- 1:57He's got a chart. He said the the gold miners Q1
- 2:02free cash flow surprise you then wait until you see what the
- 2:06silver miners will do. And when we look at this chart,
- 2:09it is very clear, right? This is Q1 of 2026 right here,
- 2:15all right, which was an average silver sales price of what,
- 2:20$83.75? The silver coins are the average
- 2:24silver price for each of those quarters.
- 2:26Look at that. OK.
- 2:28Now, so far in Q2, we are a little bit lower with an average
- 2:34sales price of 75, but we're about ready to get these
- 2:37numbers. And when those come out and
- 2:40those silver miners show the amount of free cash flow that
- 2:43they've generated, now, that could bring a lot more attention
- 2:46into the general silver market, the physical bullying side as
- 2:50well. The other thing I want to point
- 2:52out, I'll draw that arrow again on the silver price, right?
- 2:56Look at the gold. Gold's gone up, but not at all
- 3:00like silver. So the silver miners could just
- 3:02give us some incredible, incredible data as we get their
- 3:07results here in the coming weeks, quarters and months.
- 3:09Next, we're going to look at more incredible data about the
- 3:12COMEX in the LBMA and silver and gold.
- 3:15Before we do that, I want to say thank you to the sponsors of
- 3:19Ron's Basement First Meant. If you want to get your hands on
- 3:22the best quality, have the best customer experience in the
- 3:26silver retail market, check out First Meant.
- 3:29They're owned by First Majestic Silver.
- 3:31So the mine of the silver goes from the mine to the meant
- 3:35directly to you. Also want to say thank you to
- 3:38our sponsor, Brixton Metals, Canadian Metals exploration
- 3:41company with Fort Big projects all in North America and our
- 3:45friends at First Mining Gold, Canadian gold development stage
- 3:50company with two multi million ounce gold development stage
- 3:53projects in Canada. Get ready to be shocked.
- 3:57This next data is surprising to say the least.
- 4:01And this comes from King World News.
- 4:03It's a long article, but I have what I think are the big
- 4:06highlights for us. I'd recommend you go check this
- 4:08out. Comex gold and silver
- 4:10inventories are collapsing. All right, let's go here.
- 4:14Comex gold and silver inventories have collapsed,
- 4:18Repeater Alisair MacLeod says an uneasy silence has descended on
- 4:24gold and silver, but the forces that will drive them higher are
- 4:27mounting. Both metals are being rapidly
- 4:30drained from the paper markets. Let's look.
- 4:33I've got a couple charts highlighted for you here.
- 4:37Get down here. Here we go.
- 4:38The the disinterest from traders is against the backdrop of
- 4:42persistent US exports of gold reflected in the COMEX warehouse
- 4:48stock levels. This is COMEX inventory of gold.
- 4:53OK, look at that guys. And that goes back to what one
- 4:58year ago, 40 million oz down to 30 million oz, that's 25%
- 5:04decrease. Again, that's the Comex
- 5:06inventory of gold. But the next chart from Forged
- 5:10Forbes published on April 7th puts the accelerating gold drain
- 5:14even more graphically. So this is exports in February
- 5:19for the year 2026 ranked first dating back to 2013.
- 5:24So this is February of all these different years and how much
- 5:28gold the United States exported. And look at this year, right?
- 5:32The world is draining us of our gold.
- 5:34The Asians, particularly the Chinese are draining all
- 5:37Americans, all America's physical liquidity, leaving it
- 5:41in an empty paper shell. The sharp below, sharp below
- 5:44shows O comex open interest as well.
- 5:47And again, that's the black line, right?
- 5:49Open interest is falling. Now let's switch over to silver.
- 5:55The Bloomberg chart below caught the attention of many silver
- 5:58investors over the following week.
- 6:00I remember this right. China imports most silver ever
- 6:05in March. This is month by month over the
- 6:10last 10 years. And look, this is March, just
- 6:14the March that we just the March that we just finished.
- 6:17It's unbelievable how much silver China imported.
- 6:23The fundamental conflict between soaring industrial and consumer
- 6:27investor demand has unfolded and been exacerbated by China now
- 6:32hoarding silver at an increasing pace, draining it out of Western
- 6:36paper markets. The consequences for Comex
- 6:39inventories are clear. And here's the Comex inventory
- 6:43of silver. Wow, look at that.
- 6:45That goes back to what that's just September of 2025.
- 6:50Let's see if I can get that. There we go.
- 6:52Look at September of 2025. COMEX silver inventory.
- 6:57Woof. Do you see what I see what I
- 7:02would call and I'm sure you you do as well a a rapid decrease.
- 7:08Uh oh. Hold on here.
- 7:17There we go. Sorry about that, guys.
- 7:22OK, so you know what? Let's move on now next to the
- 7:27bubble, bubble report and see where Jesse Colombo what he has
- 7:30to say about gold, right? The big granddaddy of all the
- 7:34metals, right? Where are metals and miners
- 7:37stand right now? This comes from the bubble
- 7:40Bubble report, one of the most red sub stacks out there when it
- 7:43comes to precious metals. Gold, he's saying is still in an
- 7:46uptrend, remains fully intact and is confirmed by the upward
- 7:49slope of the 200 day moving average.
- 7:52Interestingly, gold is approaching oversold levels and
- 7:56what what we're seeing early this week, we're probably
- 8:01officially there, he said. As a reminder, I believe gold is
- 8:04only about two years into a secular or long term bull market
- 8:09that I expect to last at least a decade based on historical
- 8:12trends. Because of that outlook, I'm not
- 8:15fazed or discouraged whatsoever by the correction of the past
- 8:18few months as I view it as route, as a routine pull back of
- 8:22the kind that occurs in every bull market.
- 8:25And here is his chart. And as you can see, right, we
- 8:29have the upward sloping 200 day moving average.
- 8:33And if we go down here, we are almost in the relative strength
- 8:36area to oversold territory. OK.
- 8:40Now he also says in my recent technical updates, I've also
- 8:44highlighted gold support zones between 4300 and 4600, which
- 8:49formed a key peaks and lows over the past seven months.
- 8:53Let's hope we don't. We don't have to test those too
- 8:58much, but we will be keeping an eye on it next.
- 9:02Guys, let's go out. Let's talk about some doom and
- 9:06gloom. Incredible article came out
- 9:08about the US economy and 18 reasons, and I'll go through
- 9:12them quickly, but 18 reasons why the US economy is not in too
- 9:17dandy of shape and this comes from Zero Hedge 18.
- 9:26Excuse me, 18 shocking facts that prove the US economy is in
- 9:31far worse shape than people realize.
- 9:36OK, number one, get ready, I'll go quick.
- 9:39Consumer confidence has fallen to an all time low.
- 9:43Student loan delinquencies have exploded to a level that we've
- 9:46never seen before. Think of all these records we're
- 9:49breaking. The monthly cost of owning a
- 9:51home has risen to absurd heights.
- 9:54Foreclosure filings were way up in 2025 and so far in 2026 we
- 9:58are at 26% above last year's pace #5 The number of Americans
- 10:04who cannot afford to pay their credit card bills has reached
- 10:07another record high, number six as the cost of living.
- 10:10Source. People are pulling money out of
- 10:12their four O 1 KS at record rates #7 Food prices continue to
- 10:17escalate. The price of coffee more than
- 10:19doubled since 2019 #9 #8 I'm sorry, for the first time ever,
- 10:25the price of a ground of a pound of ground beef is now higher
- 10:30than the federal minimum wage. I thought that was very
- 10:33interesting #9 the Fed is telling us that 42.5% of recent
- 10:40college grads were underemployed #10 We continue to see retailers
- 10:44close locations #11 Not to be outdone, outdone, Papa John's
- 10:49has announced they will be closing 300 stores #12 One of
- 10:53our two big to fail banks has decided that it's now time to
- 10:56cut 25125 hundred jobs. That would be Morgan Stanley #13
- 11:03eBay doing major layoffs. Wendy's is closing stores #15
- 11:08Meta, the parent company of Facebook, apparently intends to
- 11:12let nearly 8000 people go from coast to coast.
- 11:16Thousands of supply chain workers have been hold and been
- 11:19told to hit the bricks in the in the recent weeks.
- 11:23According to Newsweek, the following list of companies have
- 11:26all announced layoffs during the month of April.
- 11:29I mean, look at this list. I won't read through that whole
- 11:32thing. I mean, anyway #18 The total
- 11:35unfunded obligations of the US government have now reached a
- 11:38staggering total of 180 trillion.
- 11:43Where'd it go? Yes, $180 trillion.
- 11:48And one more piece of, of, of, of proof that we are in bad
- 11:52trouble in the United States is the, the good old Taco Bell
- 11:57indicator. Hold on here, here we go, There
- 12:07we go. The Taco Bell indicator.
- 12:10Here's a Taco Bell receipt from 1999.
- 12:12Four items total $3.26. You know as well as I that if we
- 12:18ran out the Taco Bell right now and bought 4 items, our bill
- 12:22would it minimum be 12, probably $15.00.
- 12:26So guys, it's not a good situation out there, but it is a
- 12:30situation which is conducive to higher gold and silver prices.
- 12:34There will be volatility. My opinion if silver does
- 12:39breakdown further from here, maybe we'll see something in the
- 12:42mid 60s. But remember we want to keep a
- 12:45long term perspective on our investments in precious metals
- 12:50and we also want to remember the major fundamentals that are
- 12:53supporting higher metal prices, not just in the next month, not
- 12:57just in the next year, but in the next 10 years as well.
- 13:00We are in a period of time geopolitically in the world
- 13:04right now like no other when most of of us, we're alive and
- 13:09we're in a situation financially, fiscally,
- 13:12monetarily, however you want to say it in the world right now
- 13:16like it's never been the case. I think we can say that for sure
- 13:20since any of us have been alive. I think the future looks bright
- 13:23for gold and silver. Thanks for joining us down here
- 13:25in the basement. Don't forget, we want you to
- 13:27come back. Please subscribe to the channel
- 13:30and we'll see you. Yes, you.
