- 0:27Speaker 1: take out the car seat from your vehicle to give
- 0:29Speaker 1: back to your wife so she could put in her vehicles.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yes, right now.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I got a text right before we logged on here,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and it's my it's my wife. Do you have Scotty's
- 0:37Speaker 1: car seat base with the with this emojisa?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Is it's to the point where it's becoming a joke now?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Uh, it's happened a few times. Yeah, it's a few
- 0:48Speaker 1: that's a good things. Yeah, because yeah, that's good. Hey
- 0:51Speaker 1: I forgot the car seat?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Good?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Oh uh what is it?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Sue me? Oh, sue me?
- 0:58Speaker 1: I took the kids to breakfast on Sunday morning. Needed
- 1:01Speaker 1: the car seat bass. And every time we get back home,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I just it fleet. It just goes through the brain, ye,
- 1:08Speaker 1: and I forget and then it's it's in the weekday.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Charle might be trying to take him to work so
- 1:13Speaker 1: the nanny can come pick Scottie up there, and it's age.
- 1:16Speaker 1: You forget the car seat bass, sweetheart, you.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Gotta remind me in the mornings.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Heart emoji, hard emogi hart emoji. I sure did, sweetie. Yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 3: I love you, Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's one where it's
- 1:27Speaker 3: like it do the car seat basses? They make them
- 1:30Speaker 3: so easy right now, and I listen, I've blown. I've
- 1:32Speaker 3: blown it with any brain that I use, because I
- 1:34Speaker 3: don't I don't really know what I use.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I think it's the noon.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Let's go, let's go find out after the pod. By
- 1:40Speaker 3: the way, we gotta lock this in.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But the car seat bass is that you just kind
- 1:44Speaker 1: of snap in and then you put the car seat
- 1:46Speaker 1: on top. No like using the seat belt and doing
- 1:48Speaker 1: on the maneuver like the wrestling in the back seat.
- 1:50Speaker 1: You gotta do so on the car seat bass is
- 1:53Speaker 1: in my truck YEP, she's got to be in the
- 1:55Speaker 1: backseat wrestling the seat belt to get her locked in.
- 1:57Speaker 4: But that's what I'm dealing with right now.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm dealing with forgetting to change Scarlet's diaper before
- 2:04Speaker 3: I take her into daycare. I obviously change her when
- 2:06Speaker 3: she wakes up, but I'm just dropping off a poop
- 2:09Speaker 3: and grenade to the daycare worker.
- 2:10Speaker 4: And you what's crazy.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Too, is you'll smell it and you'll just be like,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I know what's going on. I'm hating you a grenade
- 2:17Speaker 1: right now. As I look you in the eye. I'm
- 2:19Speaker 1: gonna pretend that I don't smell anything.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Or they take her.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Like, oh, oh, you got a little sticky that. Oh,
- 2:28Speaker 1: she must have just did that. Then I just changed
- 2:30Speaker 1: her before I got her in the car. That just happened.
- 2:33Speaker 1: That's crazy. It's a podcast for the dad's, the wins,
- 2:37Speaker 1: the losses. We just essentially talk about our experiences as fathers.
- 2:41Speaker 1: My dog SHRM or also known as Fat Stafford on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the show, has a four month old five month old
- 2:47Speaker 1: Scarlet yep, beautiful baby girl. I have a three year
- 2:50Speaker 1: old Roue and a one year old Scottie who just
- 2:53Speaker 1: turned one last week. Reasons Reasons, what are the reasons
- 2:58Speaker 1: why people tune into the show. Shirm uh community community.
- 3:03Speaker 4: That's probably that's that's number one.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Dads are just straight up in the comments, putting other
- 3:08Speaker 3: dads on game, telling funny stories themselves. I berely laugh
- 3:12Speaker 3: at at some of the comments.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I did too.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It almost feels like it's just refreshing that we know
- 3:17Speaker 1: we're all going through this shit together. Yes, like we're
- 3:19Speaker 1: not the only ones who just forget to change or
- 3:22Speaker 1: change the diapers, or forget the car seat in the car.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yes, it makes you realize how human we all are,
- 3:28Speaker 3: and it just makes life that much easier. As I
- 3:31Speaker 3: keep on I'm grading myself too hard, and I see
- 3:34Speaker 3: the pet sikos in the comments, I'm like, okay, I'm
- 3:38Speaker 3: in the dridge as well.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It's okay. And for those new people tune it in.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Our community is called Papa Team six. If you are
- 3:45Speaker 1: a father, if you are somebody who's trying to be
- 3:47Speaker 1: a father, that means you're going through buds training, breeding
- 3:50Speaker 1: until dad status. If you are not a father, not
- 3:53Speaker 1: looking to be a father soon, we have those listeners.
- 3:55Speaker 1: We have that kind of community as well, or they
- 3:57Speaker 1: just love to tune in and listen to Dad's talk shop.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Maybe excite them about becoming a father one day. Maybe
- 4:02Speaker 1: they're like, this is the birth control pill that I
- 4:04Speaker 1: need to not be a dad right now. Either way
- 4:06Speaker 1: that your community is called Semen Team six ST six.
- 4:09Speaker 1: The leader that had honch over that is Chef Jack
- 4:12Speaker 1: over there. And then you got the Funkals, you got
- 4:14Speaker 1: the fun uncles. We got Deeke in the back. He's
- 4:16Speaker 1: been ripping. He's been ripping with the boys. What's so funny?
- 4:19Speaker 3: I just I love it. The captain is Seman Team six.
- 4:22Speaker 4: He's the captain. He's the captain, He's the leader. He
- 4:25Speaker 4: is he definitely is. He's the leader and all and
- 4:28Speaker 4: the Funkles headed up by Deeke. Yeah, we're just covering everything.
- 4:32Speaker 4: We're growing the family.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Man we are.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Don't ever go against the family. Hey, do not go
- 4:36Speaker 1: against the family and the way you do go against
- 4:39Speaker 1: the families by not subscribing to this channel. If you
- 4:41Speaker 1: are a new viewer, even if you're a current viewer
- 4:43Speaker 1: and love listening to this show, just do the boys
- 4:46Speaker 1: a favor and make sure you are subscribed to the channel.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I believe we're getting close to ten thousand subscribers. We
- 4:51Speaker 1: might be what fifteen hundred away or yeah, fifteen hundred away.
- 4:55Speaker 2: That sounds about right.
- 4:56Speaker 1: That sounds about right. Fifteen hundred away from ten thousand
- 4:58Speaker 1: subscribers on the channel. If you're listening to was on audio,
- 5:00Speaker 1: Spotify or Apple, maybe you're listening to the boys right
- 5:03Speaker 1: now with the ad free the automated ads out by
- 5:07Speaker 1: going to A four the Dad's channel on Spotify or Apple.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Just again, make sure you are following and subscribe to
- 5:14Speaker 1: the channels across the board.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Across the board. We're also on social media at for
- 5:18Speaker 4: the Dad's Pod.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Uh, give us a little follow, give us a little
- 5:21Speaker 3: and that's across the board. That's across that's TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 3: the Amazon.
- 5:26Speaker 4: One formerly known as Twitter, the Amazon one.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Reddit. Is there a Reddit page out there yet? There
- 5:33Speaker 4: is a Reddit page out there? I kind of need
- 5:35Speaker 4: a Seaman Team six Reddit page. Yeah. I think that
- 5:38Speaker 4: will be more fun with the gooon berets a bunch
- 5:42Speaker 4: of Yes, there's also boom berets out there.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Those are a wild cards. Those are the young cats.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Those are the young cats out there. Is that is
- 5:49Speaker 2: Matt in that division? Nerded we I.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Would say, Matt, who's one of our social media producers
- 5:53Speaker 1: for Busting with the Boys, he is one thousand percent
- 5:55Speaker 1: of goon Beret.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I have video evidence that pre Matt. Yeah, and
- 6:01Speaker 3: then dudes.
- 6:01Speaker 1: To be around you know, they're guys, guys, but they
- 6:03Speaker 1: also got a little d bag in him.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I could already see mass reaction.
- 6:12Speaker 4: He's gonna he throw the hands up.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You may get way too dramatic. Well, An, they're talking
- 6:16Speaker 2: about me before the dad. He'll never watch this. Maybe
- 6:21Speaker 2: his dad does a quick, a quick thing. And while
- 6:23Speaker 2: we're on this topic, where's Jared Beamon demon I said,
- 6:28Speaker 2: did we discuss this? Because he wanted to know where
- 6:30Speaker 2: he fell in on stream? He did. He was very
- 6:34Speaker 2: he unlike Matt would watch this and would love to
- 6:37Speaker 2: know because he was.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Already interested in Like, because we'll be on a Thursday
- 6:40Speaker 1: night football stream, So anything we have going on with
- 6:42Speaker 1: Bustle with the Boys, say we're streaming, we'll have Papa
- 6:45Speaker 1: Team six ers jump in the chat, be like PT
- 6:47Speaker 1: six for life or shout out PT six. So we'll
- 6:49Speaker 1: start calling it out because we know we know what
- 6:51Speaker 1: it is with Papa Team six Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Oh man.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Then they peaked Jared's interest, like, Hey, what you guys
- 6:58Speaker 1: got going on? We were kind of breaking down the
- 6:59Speaker 1: commune that he's in. The tears to him and.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I'm seeing all these sickos, all these sickos. I want
- 7:06Speaker 4: to be a sicko, Like you make a good six
- 7:08Speaker 4: he would. I personally think he's he's right now. He's
- 7:12Speaker 4: in the Semen Team six. He's in the Semen Team six.
- 7:16Speaker 4: He's got himself a lady. They live together.
- 7:19Speaker 1: He's not in buds training, they're not you know, it's
- 7:21Speaker 1: not like they're one kids anytime soon. So he's a
- 7:23Speaker 1: prime candidate for Semen Team six. He's not a goon beret.
- 7:26Speaker 1: He's more he's he's matured out of the goon beret status.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And I have evidence that he is full Semen Team
- 7:35Speaker 3: six from this past weekend. We did a little hangout
- 7:37Speaker 3: with him and mcas Franklin.
- 7:41Speaker 5: He was talking big about how he did this weekend,
- 7:43Speaker 5: and I don't know his performance about how well he did,
- 7:48Speaker 5: so I'm excited to hear the truth.
- 7:50Speaker 2: He did do one thing.
- 7:52Speaker 4: To hell, he did more than one thing, but he
- 7:53Speaker 4: did do one thing to help me on Saturday, and
- 7:56Speaker 4: he looked at me and he goes talk about that
- 7:57Speaker 4: on the pod.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And the difference people might be wondering, like, you got
- 8:02Speaker 1: a couple of young cats, they're in their twenties. Yeah,
- 8:05Speaker 1: what separates Jared from being Seemen Team six and Matt
- 8:08Speaker 1: being a Goombrey. Jared has his own responsibilities, He pays
- 8:12Speaker 1: his bills. Matt sleeps east. I think he sleeps on
- 8:15Speaker 1: a race car twin with his parents right now. Like
- 8:18Speaker 1: he's ripping around. I know he hates if he listens,
- 8:20Speaker 1: he's gonna hate hearing. But to me, that's the separation
- 8:23Speaker 1: of a goom Beret and a Seemen Team sixer.
- 8:25Speaker 3: No, I think he would fully agree. And when we
- 8:30Speaker 3: told him that he was a Goombray, he got excited
- 8:34Speaker 3: about being a goombre. And I think that that is
- 8:36Speaker 3: a tailtale sign of a true gooner.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, of a true gooner.
- 8:41Speaker 3: And so I think he is not only happy to
- 8:45Speaker 3: be in the Goombreys, but he could be an early
- 8:48Speaker 3: leader of the Goombras.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, anyone he could. You know, he's gonna love
- 8:53Speaker 1: this breakdown. Rizzo is gonna love this.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah, Matt.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Matt's definitely gooble Ray. You're gonna be sitting there sipping
- 9:03Speaker 2: his call. I see that kits and I forgot my
- 9:05Speaker 2: Barsita base too.
- 9:07Speaker 4: You know my truck. But that mad sleeping on a
- 9:11Speaker 4: race car bed.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That's of a bitch. Them boys are funny.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We kind of got off, We kind of got off
- 9:19Speaker 1: the rails there a little bit. Yeah, let's bring it
- 9:21Speaker 1: back on. Ways to get on the show, all right,
- 9:24Speaker 1: Shum said it. The reasons we love this community are
- 9:28Speaker 1: reasons we love this brand so much is because of
- 9:30Speaker 1: the community.
- 9:30Speaker 4: We love engaging with the community.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So if you leave comments across our social media channels
- 9:35Speaker 1: or in the YouTube comments, yep, we love shouting out
- 9:38Speaker 1: people on the pod. You can also reach us by
- 9:40Speaker 1: calling into a hotline six on one of the Dads,
- 9:42Speaker 1: where we play a couple of voicemails towards the end
- 9:44Speaker 1: of the episode.
- 9:45Speaker 4: We also read emails.
- 9:46Speaker 1: If you are not able to call in because you
- 9:48Speaker 1: are on international soil. We've covered that six on one
- 9:51Speaker 1: the Dads at gmail dot com. Shoot us an email.
- 9:55Speaker 1: We will cover those things toward the end of the episode.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And let's just shout out some comments, please people. I
- 10:00Speaker 1: just love the pod right now. This is from DJK
- 10:03Speaker 1: twenty five hundred Good morning, fellow PT sixers. Happy birthday,
- 10:06Speaker 1: Shirham Love the pod Ontario. Hey, that's why I asked
- 10:10Speaker 1: you when your birthday is, because I'm thinking, hang on,
- 10:12Speaker 1: is it Shurm's birthday today and we're not.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Hey, That's that's how you make sure your comic gets read.
- 10:17Speaker 5: By the way, there was a lot of confusion about
- 10:19Speaker 5: whose birthday it was last week. Despite everything saying scott Zilla,
- 10:23Speaker 5: there were a ton of comments saying happy birthday Shirm. Idea,
- 10:27Speaker 5: you are scott Zilla, but there are a lot of
- 10:29Speaker 5: happy birthday Shirream comments.
- 10:31Speaker 4: By That makes Yeah, that makes it.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I did get a DM of a happy Birthday that
- 10:37Speaker 3: I scrolled past because I thought it was a bot
- 10:40Speaker 3: and I thought like that, you know, I thought it
- 10:41Speaker 3: was like one of those fishing things. It's like, happy birthday,
- 10:44Speaker 3: join my crypto investment.
- 10:46Speaker 1: The Sometimes I just enjoyed texting people happy birthday, just randomly,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and I thought, that's what he's doing, is just being like,
- 10:52Speaker 1: happy birthday, Shirm.
- 10:53Speaker 2: But dude, what a legend.
- 10:55Speaker 3: What was his name again? DJK twenty five DJK. I'm
- 10:59Speaker 3: going to bank that. I'm gonna remember that on May
- 11:01Speaker 3: twenty fourth. Thank you. DJK.
- 11:03Speaker 2: We made a fun graphic and we made not sillo graphic.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It took me like an hour and a half to
- 11:07Speaker 2: figure out the font to get the flame. The flame
- 11:11Speaker 2: bond came in and I had to call in Cooper Comstock,
- 11:14Speaker 2: So you.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Know, great birthday birthday graphic.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Zilla the Fear little head on Godzilla the.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Fear Will Compton PNG is gonna come in handy. I
- 11:25Speaker 4: feel like many a time are you talking about me
- 11:27Speaker 4: dresses fear?
- 11:29Speaker 3: I know, Wiscotti blowing the fire on you. This one
- 11:32Speaker 3: comes from Jake Ryan on YouTube. Jake says first like
- 11:36Speaker 3: and top ten and views on this one.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Gonna be a good day.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Only thing that will top it is when my kids
- 11:44Speaker 3: run in and hug me when I get home from work.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Keep up the great work, guys, makes every Wednesday at
- 11:50Speaker 3: the office a little better.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Hashtag PG six shout Out Man shot Out.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I got one here from on Spotify. You can leave
- 11:58Speaker 1: comments on Spotify. Boy, Tom Darmit, I needed this podcast
- 12:02Speaker 1: more than y'all know. Thank you for always keeping it
- 12:05Speaker 1: real and help me get out of this slump. I'm
- 12:06Speaker 1: in glad to hear I'm not the only one mentally
- 12:08Speaker 1: going through it as a dad to a six month
- 12:10Speaker 1: old baby girl. Yeah, he's in the He's in the trenches,
- 12:12Speaker 1: right in the trenches. He's in the trenches right now, dude. Yeah, slump,
- 12:16Speaker 1: it's he goes in faces. I'm currently in a slump
- 12:19Speaker 1: right now.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I am as well.
- 12:22Speaker 3: We talked about this. I have like a little bit
- 12:24Speaker 3: follow up with my slump, but could not agree more
- 12:27Speaker 3: with his comment.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I've been I've been sleeping til it's time
- 12:31Speaker 1: to get up and at the family rolling like. I
- 12:33Speaker 1: haven't been getting up early and working out, and it
- 12:35Speaker 1: just pisses me every time I walk to the truck
- 12:37Speaker 1: and I've handled like Charlo go up and do get
- 12:40Speaker 1: rude dressed and everything.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I'll start whipping up. I do the I'm the I'm
- 12:44Speaker 4: the kitchen guy.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm getting breakfast ready for Charro, get breakfast ready
- 12:48Speaker 1: for Scotti and Rue. I'm packing the school lunches, I'm
- 12:51Speaker 1: getting the snacks. We're in a great rhythm with that.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But I knocked that out of the park. And every
- 12:56Speaker 1: time I walk to my truck with my backpack on,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and it's about you know, this morning, it was like
- 13:00Speaker 1: seven was like seven fifty two in the morning, walking
- 13:04Speaker 1: out to my truck, looking at my truck, just sizzling internally, like, bro,
- 13:07Speaker 1: you've got.
- 13:08Speaker 2: To get your shit together.
- 13:10Speaker 1: As far as taking care of myself, it frustrates me
- 13:12Speaker 1: when I'm not like on my routine. So the slump,
- 13:15Speaker 1: I mean, it's like the time change. It's getting a
- 13:17Speaker 1: little colder, it's getting dark sooner. I tell myself I'm
- 13:20Speaker 1: gonna work out at nighttime when the kids go down.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I don't do it. I talk myself in the hey,
- 13:24Speaker 4: I got to study for football. I do study.
- 13:26Speaker 1: But also it's like I could get the shit in
- 13:28Speaker 1: if I truly dialed it in and focused. And then
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm like, ill get up early in the morning because
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'm getting the better probably around eleven at night. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: don't wake up at five forty five or six am.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I don't even snooze it. I just turn it off
- 13:40Speaker 1: because I'm like, I know Charles's gonna wake me up
- 13:41Speaker 1: when it's time to get rolling. Around six forty five
- 13:44Speaker 1: or seven. I sleep into that point. I get up,
- 13:47Speaker 1: do my thing, and I mean I wax it in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the kitchen. But I'm in like that slump right now,
- 13:52Speaker 1: just feeling my dog mentally like mentally, I know it's
- 13:55Speaker 1: going to snowball on me, not to where I fucking project.
- 13:59Speaker 4: I hope not.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Anyway, it's gonna be one of those ones where you're
- 14:02Speaker 1: sick and tired of being sick and tired, and then
- 14:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna be And what I don't want to do
- 14:06Speaker 1: is I don't want to wait till New Year's to
- 14:08Speaker 1: be like this is my New Year's resolution.
- 14:10Speaker 4: That fucking pisces me off to my core.
- 14:13Speaker 1: If I become one of those people that's like, oh,
- 14:15Speaker 1: here's my New Year's resolution, Like I want to start
- 14:17Speaker 1: doing it before and I need to.
- 14:19Speaker 4: I need to shout out to you Tom things tuning in.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I have a proposal for you, man. I have a
- 14:28Speaker 2: proposal for you.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I just started a morning workout thing I've been trying
- 14:32Speaker 2: to do. Get up at six am, hit the gym
- 14:35Speaker 2: before work happens. Because after work I drive. I live
- 14:37Speaker 2: a little bit away with my mom and dad, so
- 14:41Speaker 2: getting I just don't feel like it when I get done.
- 14:43Speaker 2: If you want, we can be accountabill buddies because I
- 14:46Speaker 2: have to be up pretty much every day by forty
- 14:49Speaker 2: five to get to the gym. It's an offer.
- 14:54Speaker 4: What's the proposal going? Texting each other around that.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we're just making sure that we're up and going.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love that. Should we all do it?
- 15:04Speaker 2: I'd be done.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Yes, I think, Hey, I think that's a great idea.
- 15:08Speaker 3: We should all do it. I actually look, can I
- 15:12Speaker 3: actually tell you something? I gave Chef this idea. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 3: I said, Chef, we should all be You did a
- 15:19Speaker 3: kind of Billa buddies with the morning workouts.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Do you feel like that's where he was like he
- 15:24Speaker 1: was remembering, that's where he's getting it from with you,
- 15:26Speaker 1: Like you guys had a conversation and it's just now
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's manifesting.
- 15:30Speaker 2: No. Sum came to me and he's like, Hay, I'm
- 15:32Speaker 2: where you're bet here. That's what it was. You can get,
- 15:35Speaker 2: you know, in with the boss, with the boss man.
- 15:40Speaker 4: That's the angle.
- 15:45Speaker 3: That's a Stephen Team six are looking out for his boy.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I was more so covering for the fact that I
- 15:50Speaker 3: could not be more not down for that idea, but
- 15:53Speaker 3: I need to be down for that idea.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Let's be down with that idea.
- 15:57Speaker 2: We need to be down with that.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Earth sure needs speed down with that idea. What time
- 16:02Speaker 3: we start? Yeah?
- 16:03Speaker 4: What time five five for I no, hang on though,
- 16:08Speaker 4: that was there? Sit your fun uncle ass back up.
- 16:14Speaker 4: That wasn't there.
- 16:15Speaker 2: That was.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Five forty five.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'm done with that five forty five period until six.
- 16:23Speaker 4: So five forty five you have a grace period five
- 16:25Speaker 4: forty five to six.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm in on that. Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 4: If not, If you don't, you get swirlied.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Oh you have to start your workout.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We're we're up. You handle your morning routine. However you
- 16:38Speaker 1: want to handle your morning rot that's do not. You
- 16:40Speaker 1: cannot hit the group chat but then just go back
- 16:42Speaker 1: to sleep.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Yeah, oh that would be that'd be diabolical this actually,
- 16:48Speaker 2: but that's how we do it.
- 16:49Speaker 4: That's why we keep each other accountable.
- 16:50Speaker 1: And maybe if the community, if they're like in with
- 16:52Speaker 1: it too, like, maybe we could just whether it's a
- 16:54Speaker 1: bad signal, we put up some gift in.
- 16:56Speaker 2: The mornings that yeah, seldom selfies out of the bed.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, your care so, but if we just drop a
- 17:03Speaker 1: certain emoji or a gift or whatever it is now
- 17:07Speaker 1: selfie and people can start engaging with it whatever, that's
- 17:10Speaker 1: the way we can all the community.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Yeah, accountable.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I do like that.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I shout again, shout out Tom for bringing up this
- 17:16Speaker 1: slump face. We're all we're all in the trenches together, bro,
- 17:20Speaker 1: we are. I know he's got a six month old
- 17:21Speaker 1: at home, very similar to yourself.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And that actually goes into a little bit
- 17:27Speaker 3: of my schedule change stuff that I've been trying to implement,
- 17:31Speaker 3: uh for the slump. So I don't know why I'm
- 17:33Speaker 3: fighting this morning routine so much because I'm kind of
- 17:37Speaker 3: implementing it and I already love it.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Okay, so we'll dive into that. We're diving into it.
- 17:42Speaker 4: We'll dive into it.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Barker on YouTube said pt Siko of three month old
- 17:48Speaker 3: baby boy already starting to teethe and crying uncontrollably.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Mmmm good good.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Put on for the.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Dads and he stopped crying immediately and was walked in
- 18:00Speaker 4: on the pod. Much love boys Wolf Emeggie. Hmmm, shout
- 18:05Speaker 4: out to pt sicco. Come on, bark we got one
- 18:07Speaker 4: here from West Coast.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Savage on YouTube, First Night First time listener, Future a
- 18:11Speaker 1: long time listener. Then e K chimes in says, great, Soed,
- 18:18Speaker 1: that's good.
- 18:18Speaker 4: That's it.
- 18:18Speaker 1: That's all that's all we got. That's just great. Great
- 18:21Speaker 1: so first time listener, Future, long time listener I did.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It fires me up. It tickles my pickle when it's
- 18:29Speaker 1: like somebody they have a new kid and they just
- 18:32Speaker 1: come across the episode, they come across one episode, or
- 18:34Speaker 1: people say like they hold themselves to a standard of
- 18:38Speaker 1: I didn't want to leave my first comment until I
- 18:40Speaker 1: was all the way caught up because we're only what
- 18:42Speaker 1: twenty three episodes.
- 18:43Speaker 2: In, Yeah it's me episode twenty four.
- 18:45Speaker 1: This is episode twenty four. Like we're we're we're new
- 18:49Speaker 1: we're newborns right now, we're in the newborn phase. But
- 18:51Speaker 1: I love the fact that the pt sikos they understand
- 18:54Speaker 1: the assignment with Papa Team six and it's like my
- 18:57Speaker 1: comment ain't worth the shit until I get all these episodes.
- 19:00Speaker 3: My stride gott to earn the badge, and I love
- 19:03Speaker 3: all the intro stuff, like the comments that I'm getting
- 19:06Speaker 3: from the dads who are very soon to be dads,
- 19:10Speaker 3: and those guys are the ones that are really starting
- 19:12Speaker 3: to like lock in.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I have another one from Toby Bradford. Read it six
- 19:19Speaker 3: one one six. He said, Dad, hack, get a frame
- 19:23Speaker 3: for your kid's art. They make a frame that has
- 19:25Speaker 3: a really deep backing so you can stack new pictures
- 19:29Speaker 3: over each other whenever they make a new piece of art.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I fucking love that.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That's a great dad hack because one thing that uh
- 19:37Speaker 1: we've done, Charle got this big container, like this long
- 19:40Speaker 1: container where basically all of rue her art has went
- 19:43Speaker 1: into and we've like stored it. And I just think
- 19:45Speaker 1: in my mind, because I saw some sick go out there,
- 19:49Speaker 1: like building this incredible collage that I will never be
- 19:53Speaker 1: able to put time and energy into. Oh okay, be able,
- 19:55Speaker 1: that's I am too lazy to put that time and
- 19:59Speaker 1: energy into make it. This collage type of art piece
- 20:01Speaker 1: that he made. I would love for that to be.
- 20:03Speaker 3: In my mind, all the kid's art is one artp
- 20:06Speaker 3: piece like you all together sign.
- 20:09Speaker 1: He's used a bunch of different so I'm talking Elmer's glue,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm talking massive frames pieces.
- 20:14Speaker 4: So he got a flamethrower out at one point.
- 20:17Speaker 1: But anyway, hearing that dad hack gasses me up because
- 20:21Speaker 1: I think that is an incredible, unincredible idea. Because we
- 20:24Speaker 1: have all the art pieces, there's gonna be something we
- 20:26Speaker 1: want to do, and I think that would be I
- 20:28Speaker 1: think that'd be badass.
- 20:29Speaker 3: That would that would be badass. Another dad hack that
- 20:32Speaker 3: I've seen It's one of my favorite uh like tiktoks
- 20:35Speaker 3: I've ever seen. These parents hosted an art show at
- 20:39Speaker 3: their house of their little five year old's work, and
- 20:42Speaker 3: they had him like hanging and all these you know,
- 20:44Speaker 3: like fancy frames and stuff, and then they just had
- 20:48Speaker 3: a projector shooting onto like their living room wall of
- 20:53Speaker 3: like all of her work kind of cycling through, and
- 20:56Speaker 3: they got her a barstool to like sit next to
- 20:58Speaker 3: the projector so she can sit there to like answer
- 21:01Speaker 3: questions for people that were coming here.
- 21:05Speaker 4: It's awesome, man, bro.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It was one of the best things I've ever seen,
- 21:08Speaker 3: one of the best things I've ever seen. My mom's
- 21:11Speaker 3: an artist, so I love that kind of stuff.
- 21:13Speaker 2: But that's all time.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah. Sean Moore three six one zero on YouTube,
- 21:19Speaker 3: Sean Moore says, I'm hoping you can give a quick
- 21:21Speaker 3: shout out to my boy Jalen. Shout out Jalen. Why
- 21:26Speaker 3: you ask, He's a fellow PT sixer and an avid
- 21:29Speaker 3: listener who just turned thirty one.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Shout out jah, Happy birthday, Jalen thirty one.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You'll love this part.
- 21:38Speaker 3: In college, all we used to eat were chicken dinners.
- 21:42Speaker 3: We would get on pubg now we have families, but
- 21:46Speaker 3: you know we make sure to carve out a little
- 21:48Speaker 3: time to get a chicken dinner like the old days.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Keep up the good work, boys, y'all. Some dollars for real.
- 21:55Speaker 2: That's Sean Moore. That's Sean Moore and his boy Jalen.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Dude, ude, some PUBGPT sick guys.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Dude, nothing, I look who I've been hit the group chat?
- 22:05Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, the pubg chat. I missed the teams. Oh,
- 22:09Speaker 4: I've been sucked into this TV show terminal List and
- 22:12Speaker 4: it is so badass. Bro, it is a good show. Boys,
- 22:16Speaker 4: I'm telling you right now. Pop a team six.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Community community, community, military based themes having fun Terminal List
- 22:26Speaker 1: Navy Seals.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, dude, you are in on this.
- 22:29Speaker 1: You're tweeting about this, not only tweeting and telling everybody
- 22:33Speaker 1: in the shop about it. One of the guys I
- 22:36Speaker 1: think from the who's the authors of Jack Riggins.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Joe isn't the same? Is it the same guy that
- 22:44Speaker 2: made the Jack Ryan books?
- 22:46Speaker 4: Jack Carr, Jack Carr?
- 22:48Speaker 1: So this guy who reps Jack Carr, I guess he's
- 22:52Speaker 1: got books coming out next year. And he sends me
- 22:55Speaker 1: an email and says he wants to send me in
- 22:57Speaker 1: it the all the books for the Terminal List. I
- 23:00Speaker 1: guess he saw the tweet because when I first read
- 23:03Speaker 1: the email, I'm thinking, did they bug the shot? Because
- 23:07Speaker 1: I was going I was just going off about how
- 23:09Speaker 1: great this show was. Everybody kind of giving us a
- 23:11Speaker 1: synopsis of everything because I want people to buy in
- 23:13Speaker 1: on the Terminal List because I think it's an incredible show.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It's got Taylor Kitsch, it's got Chris Pratt. Dude, it's
- 23:22Speaker 1: a phenomenal show.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Great, great show. And Patrick Schwarzenegger, yeah, he's uh, he's
- 23:28Speaker 4: emailing me. I like, Patrick, I could get I could get.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Mister Carr, Jack Carr, like on the bus if you'd
- 23:34Speaker 1: want to have a moment, like, dude, I would be
- 23:36Speaker 1: stoked to get your hitting promise.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yeah, car on a bus. And I'm my wife.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I'm telling my wife about this and she's like, I've
- 23:44Speaker 1: never seen you read a fiction book in your life.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And I'm like, what a great series to.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Start, Yeah, this one, and a passion of your wives
- 23:52Speaker 4: right reading. Oh, she loves reading. She's always got a
- 23:55Speaker 4: book in her hand.
- 23:56Speaker 2: She loves fiction.
- 23:58Speaker 1: She's like, could you tell me a fiction book you read?
- 23:59Speaker 1: I'm like, now, no, I couldn't. I can't even recite
- 24:04Speaker 1: the books we was required to read like in grade school,
- 24:07Speaker 1: grown up, like those are the only fiction that I read. Yeah, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But I can't remember any
- 24:11Speaker 1: of the books. I consumed.
- 24:13Speaker 3: I was a big series of unfortunate events. Harry Potter,
- 24:17Speaker 3: it did all those.
- 24:18Speaker 4: My grandma sent me a Harry Potter book and it
- 24:20Speaker 4: just it's sat there. I think it was the fourth one.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Mm hm.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I never took that step into go ahead.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Sorry, I was just saying, you gotta started the first
- 24:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 4: On Terminal List, the set that comes in, I'll read it.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's I'm excited because I'm curious how
- 24:37Speaker 1: they make another series.
- 24:39Speaker 4: With the way.
- 24:39Speaker 1: So I watched Terminal List Dark Wolf first because that
- 24:43Speaker 1: came out in twenty twenty five, and I was just
- 24:45Speaker 1: kind of looking for a new show.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Charle was she had a show she was watching, and.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I could tell football game was on one night and
- 24:53Speaker 1: she's like, you're gonna go upstairs and watch the game.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, like she's wanting to watch this show,
- 24:57Speaker 1: this show. But I was curious, like what shows are
- 24:59Speaker 1: out there right now that I consume.
- 25:00Speaker 4: So I'm on Amazon Prime and I see Terminalist, Dark
- 25:04Speaker 4: Dark Wolf, and I see it's Taylor Kitchen Chris Pratt.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I bet this is badass. I looked
- 25:09Speaker 1: up the Terminal List on Google and I see it
- 25:11Speaker 1: was a seven point nine on IMDb. That's good enough
- 25:13Speaker 1: for Willy c to watch a show. And I'm thinking
- 25:15Speaker 1: the Terminal List and I'm marrying that to the Terminal
- 25:18Speaker 1: List Dark Wolf. So I watched Terminalist Dark Wolf. This
- 25:21Speaker 1: show is incredible. This show is incredible. Government conspiracy, cels
- 25:25Speaker 1: CIA like all this stuff.
- 25:27Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 25:28Speaker 1: And I'm watching this and I'm typing in like, is
- 25:31Speaker 1: there a sequel or anything else? I see that the
- 25:32Speaker 1: Terminalist the initial rating that I looked up, the seven
- 25:35Speaker 1: point nine was from just the original Terminal List. There's
- 25:38Speaker 1: one that came out in twenty twenty two that was
- 25:42Speaker 1: the sequel or dark Wolf was a prequel, Yeah, the
- 25:46Speaker 1: Terminal List in twenty twenty two.
- 25:47Speaker 4: So I'm like, oh shit, I just watched the prequel.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Now I get to watch the real thing.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I watched that the way that one ends, I'm thinking,
- 25:54Speaker 1: how do you make a sequel off of that based
- 25:56Speaker 1: on what happened one of the biggest twists of my
- 25:57Speaker 1: life no spoiler, no spoiler, boiler's biggest twist in my life.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Dude, what for any Will Compton sick goes out there?
- 26:06Speaker 3: I just I want to tee this tweet up that
- 26:09Speaker 3: Will put out because I thought it was the ultimate
- 26:11Speaker 3: Will Compton moment of all time. I love reading your
- 26:14Speaker 3: tweets and your voice. Sometimes Will has been around this
- 26:19Speaker 3: office talking about the Terminal List Dark Wolf on three
- 26:22Speaker 3: separate shows. I've heard him bring up the Terminal List
- 26:25Speaker 3: Dark Wolf. Boys, you gotta watch it to then read
- 26:30Speaker 3: this tweet that was pecially on November fourteenth. How come
- 26:35Speaker 3: nobody ever told me about the Terminal List Dark Wolf
- 26:38Speaker 3: and that one, and that it's a prequel and that
- 26:41Speaker 3: the original series dropped the twenty twenty two.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Bro.
- 26:47Speaker 4: I died laughing reading that that.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Was November fourteenth, the Terminalist the Terminal List in twenty
- 26:54Speaker 1: twenty two was done on the sixteenth. That's crazy, binged it.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You're talking but the late night's and not in my routine.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I was up till two in the morning one night.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I think I watched like four in a row, Bro,
- 27:06Speaker 1: consuming this.
- 27:07Speaker 3: How long of that episode, like forty five to an hour?
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, fifty fifty five minutes, Yeah yeah, fifty to
- 27:13Speaker 2: fifty five minutes. I walked in yesterday. Me and g
- 27:16Speaker 2: were excited to talk to Will because we're all Lambman fans.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Oh N shout out Lamb and I was like, Will
- 27:21Speaker 2: have you We talked about this, like the upcoming. We say, hey,
- 27:24Speaker 2: Lambman's coming out this Sunday, and I was like, hey,
- 27:27Speaker 2: will be watching the episode Lamb and he does.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Nobody fully locked on this terminal issue.
- 27:32Speaker 2: You gotta watch it.
- 27:35Speaker 4: You gotta fucking watch it, man.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Maybe a little bet six sick a watch party of
- 27:41Speaker 3: the urbinil list.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's amazing. It's amazing.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I love I love finding a good show. So I
- 27:49Speaker 3: love seeing you. You found something that you're truly passionate about.
- 27:53Speaker 3: It needs to be stoked. No this show, No, this show.
- 27:58Speaker 3: It's got you reading the origine, the original stop like that.
- 28:03Speaker 1: It gets me reading these fictional books because it sounds
- 28:06Speaker 1: great in theory. I'm more so fired up that the
- 28:08Speaker 1: dude reached out. I'm communicating back and forth to them,
- 28:11Speaker 1: feeling grateful that he wants to send me a set
- 28:13Speaker 1: and potentially get Jack Carr on the bus because I
- 28:15Speaker 1: love to pick his brain about what's in the what's
- 28:18Speaker 1: in the pipe. Yeah, for the next year, Like, you
- 28:20Speaker 1: gotta make another one somehow. Maybe it's a prequel to
- 28:24Speaker 1: the prequel, or it's all based around their seals and
- 28:26Speaker 1: their teams, because what happens is they break off.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Dude, you gotta watch it. I will.
- 28:33Speaker 3: I'll make that promise to you. I'll watch that, chef.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Like the synopsis of the first one, the original in
- 28:38Speaker 1: twenty twenty two, it's about this platoon of twelve Navy seals,
- 28:41Speaker 1: this Navy seal team, one of the best ones, the
- 28:43Speaker 1: elite of the elite. They're doing a mission in Iran.
- 28:46Speaker 1: They eleven of the twelve get taken out. Chris Pratt's
- 28:50Speaker 1: the only one that survives. Well, there's another one that survives.
- 28:54Speaker 3: I need no, I need no further. I'm sold. And
- 28:57Speaker 3: I don't say that, like I don't want it to
- 28:58Speaker 3: let me.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I'll tell you this are don't.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Don't spoil it.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm not. I'm not spoiling it. This will
- 29:05Speaker 4: be in the synopsis.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I think it's a set up and he's trying to
- 29:08Speaker 1: put it to how he got set up, and there's
- 29:10Speaker 1: so many different angles where the setup could come from.
- 29:13Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 29:14Speaker 2: I'm done. I'm done.
- 29:15Speaker 4: That's a synopsis that's not giving it up. All right,
- 29:17Speaker 4: you gotta watch it. This is a good sign that
- 29:21Speaker 4: I'm gonna watch it. Yeah, I know it.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Dude.
- 29:23Speaker 3: When there's movies coming out that I'm legitimately excited for,
- 29:26Speaker 3: I don't even watch the trailer.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah, this is this is one where as I'm reading
- 29:30Speaker 1: these grim fairy tales the rue while she's going to bed,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and we'll get into the rou and these grim.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Faery we'll get it in a second.
- 29:35Speaker 4: We'll get in.
- 29:36Speaker 1: But I'm sitting there and when I walk on, when
- 29:40Speaker 1: I walk out of her room, I'm thinking, oh, it's
- 29:43Speaker 1: time to go put on some terminal list. And I'm like,
- 29:46Speaker 1: you know, go down. My wife's like, oh, you gotta
- 29:47Speaker 1: go study, and like yeah, I gotta go study, and
- 29:51Speaker 1: mind you, I do study. But once it's like nine
- 29:55Speaker 1: thirty hits, I'll get in an episode. This is more
- 29:57Speaker 1: so last week. Now I'm done with terminal list of them,
- 30:00Speaker 1: both of the show, both of the series are.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Done for me.
- 30:03Speaker 4: But last week, like bro's putting in some hours because
- 30:05Speaker 4: it had me and captivated. It had me right, he captivated. Captivated.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Dude is an insane badass too, which one pers Wikipedia.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Jack Carr is his pen name. His real name is
- 30:16Speaker 5: George Peterson. George Peterson decided at the age of seven,
- 30:19Speaker 5: when he found out about the Navy Seals, that that's
- 30:21Speaker 5: the career he was going to pursue. He spent over
- 30:24Speaker 5: twenty years in the Naval Special Warfare Command. There were
- 30:27Speaker 5: two careers he wanted to have his whole life. Navy
- 30:29Speaker 5: Seal author. This dude is like the baddest of badasses too,
- 30:34Speaker 5: So it's not just some writer fantasizing about this stuff.
- 30:37Speaker 3: He's lived this shit.
- 30:39Speaker 1: That's yeah, that's amazing. And we're just podcasting right now.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Once they got to do with fatherhood, n what does
- 30:46Speaker 1: that have to do? Glad you asked. You got to
- 30:49Speaker 1: have a side quest in your life that you enjoy,
- 30:52Speaker 1: that you feed yourself personally. Right now, when I'm down
- 30:54Speaker 1: in the dumps, it's like I'll latch onto some more TV.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yes, dude, I was talking with you.
- 31:01Speaker 4: I desperately need to pour into me more like I
- 31:06Speaker 4: I feel very selfish saying that, and I feel very
- 31:10Speaker 4: selfish in doing it, but I also realized with how
- 31:14Speaker 4: much I'm uh like about work and Scarlet's life and
- 31:19Speaker 4: all these things, like I.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Need to have some balance for me.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and again we've talked about it at length before
- 31:26Speaker 1: on past episodes, but it's truly it's prioritizing it. Yes,
- 31:32Speaker 1: it's like sitting down and writing some shit out, and
- 31:35Speaker 1: i'll write stuff out, I'll forget, I'll fall into the slump.
- 31:39Speaker 4: But to me and my brain for it not to
- 31:41Speaker 4: sound selfish, it's like, how you know.
- 31:42Speaker 1: How are you going to take care If you're not
- 31:44Speaker 1: taking care of yourself, how are you going to take
- 31:45Speaker 1: care of everybody else? You'll take care of everybody else,
- 31:47Speaker 1: but you have zero energy for yourself. At some point,
- 31:50Speaker 1: it's gonna come to a boiling point. Yeah, back, what
- 31:53Speaker 1: you know, where's that come from? Where's that attitude come from?
- 31:55Speaker 4: What's going on? What's this?
- 31:57Speaker 2: What's that? Dude?
- 31:58Speaker 3: Jill and I had And this might be like the
- 32:01Speaker 3: ultimate segue segue, but I'm trying to stay on topic.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Jill and I have like the ultimate.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Vomit of emotion and like I need support and I
- 32:16Speaker 3: feel supported from you, but like just a reminder that
- 32:19Speaker 3: we're a team. It was so it was sick, dude.
- 32:23Speaker 3: It was on Sunday and we went we went to
- 32:26Speaker 3: Ruby Sunshine, had a great brunch and we're walking around
- 32:30Speaker 3: and as we're walking around, we're talking and we're talking
- 32:32Speaker 3: about being in Nashville and being away from family and
- 32:35Speaker 3: missing friends and being homesick and like finding our place
- 32:40Speaker 3: here and it's hard because we have scarlet and date
- 32:45Speaker 3: nights we haven't been doing them. And it was like
- 32:47Speaker 3: this all of a sudden, it kind of came to
- 32:50Speaker 3: ahead of Jill being like, Sherman, I know that you're
- 32:54Speaker 3: feeling these types of way about yourself because this is
- 32:56Speaker 3: me talking like this, and Jill's like, I know that
- 32:59Speaker 3: you're feeling these types of ways, like I feel those
- 33:03Speaker 3: types of I feel that way too, and I feel
- 33:06Speaker 3: like I don't get to voice that, Like you you
- 33:08Speaker 3: don't really ask me about that because you're feeling it.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I'm also feeling that. And we need to be there
- 33:17Speaker 3: for each other. We need to be better teammates in
- 33:20Speaker 3: this moment because we are the two closest people in
- 33:23Speaker 3: each other's lives, and like, let's be here for each
- 33:28Speaker 3: other let's celebrate each other. Let's like we both do
- 33:31Speaker 3: a bad job of communicating I need help or I'm struggling.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Yea, because you.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Guys and give people a die or some context in
- 33:38Speaker 1: your guys' work lives too. Oh yeah, like like you're
- 33:41Speaker 1: you're you know, you put in work here at Bustin.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Your wife Jill, she's a nurse, Like her hours are crazy.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Her hours are crazy. She puts in a ton of work.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Uh.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Today we're talking like the nurse schedule two is like
- 33:57Speaker 4: twelve hour days.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, and well and it's like twelve hour day,
- 34:01Speaker 3: but it's really like a thirteen fourteen, fifteen hour day
- 34:04Speaker 3: depending yeah yeah, and she's you know, her schedule's crazy,
- 34:10Speaker 3: Like they switched her shift this week. So instead of
- 34:15Speaker 3: Mondays how I always take Scarlett in on Mondays, I
- 34:18Speaker 3: took her in this morning, which I usually don't get
- 34:20Speaker 3: here till nine, but I did the whole Uh. I
- 34:24Speaker 3: told these guys, I like prepped them for it that
- 34:26Speaker 3: I was gonna get up extra early, feed Scarlet extra early,
- 34:30Speaker 3: and have everything knocked out before I even woke up Scarlet,
- 34:33Speaker 3: so then we're ready to go. So I had that
- 34:36Speaker 3: five am wake up this morning and it kicked ass.
- 34:40Speaker 3: It felt good, so that you know, I do want
- 34:43Speaker 3: to do the workout thing, even though my body's like
- 34:46Speaker 3: I don't.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Yeah, stay on it, stay on it.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 3: But with the with the Jill stuff, with the wife stuff,
- 34:55Speaker 3: it it was just like a really really good reminder
- 35:00Speaker 3: that I not only am married to this person and
- 35:03Speaker 3: I have a child with them, and I live with
- 35:05Speaker 3: them cohabitate, but like this is my best friend, this
- 35:09Speaker 3: is my life partner, that we are in this together,
- 35:14Speaker 3: and if anybody is going to have my back, and
- 35:17Speaker 3: if anybody's gonna have her back, it's each other. And
- 35:20Speaker 3: we have to have that for each other. And we
- 35:24Speaker 3: just have this like, you know, she's crying telling me
- 35:27Speaker 3: how proud she is of me and thinks that I'm
- 35:31Speaker 3: killing it, but also like I miss you and like
- 35:35Speaker 3: I need you in these ways, and I'm sitting there
- 35:38Speaker 3: like I'm proud of you, Like I can't believe that
- 35:40Speaker 3: you don't think anybody's proud of you for being an
- 35:43Speaker 3: incredible mom, because you're literally the best freaking mom in
- 35:46Speaker 3: the entire world. It's crazy. My mom's sitting there bragging
- 35:50Speaker 3: about you. I'm bragging about you, but you just you
- 35:53Speaker 3: get so caught up in life, you get so caught
- 35:56Speaker 3: up with everything that's going on with the kid. It
- 35:59Speaker 3: was like a little reset button of like, man, we
- 36:04Speaker 3: got to like pour into each other way more way
- 36:08Speaker 3: and pour into ourselves. Yeah, she's got some stuff on
- 36:11Speaker 3: her end that she's got to start investing in herself more.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, we all do.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I want to say one thing I heard that you
- 36:17Speaker 1: were saying is the whole like you're you're doing all
- 36:19Speaker 1: these things.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I'm so proud of You're crushing.
- 36:21Speaker 2: It, but I miss you.
- 36:23Speaker 4: It is It is like it's you get in these
- 36:25Speaker 4: seasons and it happens.
- 36:26Speaker 1: It's how it happens with me and Charlie all the
- 36:28Speaker 1: time because she, you know, with bar going on, she's
- 36:31Speaker 1: a business owner. We're doing all the things busting bar.
- 36:34Speaker 1: And the little time you do have it's at home.
- 36:36Speaker 1: It's it's really all into the kids or the kid,
- 36:40Speaker 1: like you're trying to get make sure they're all good.
- 36:42Speaker 4: You're you're.
- 36:44Speaker 1: You're quickly kind of catching up on your day, but
- 36:47Speaker 1: you're not really connecting. You're kind of just checking the
- 36:49Speaker 1: boxes and then like when the kid goes down, depending
- 36:53Speaker 1: on what the next day looks like you're either tired
- 36:56Speaker 1: or you want to catch up on some sleep or
- 36:57Speaker 1: some rest, or you kind of feel bogged down or
- 36:59Speaker 1: you have to for the next day, whatever that is,
- 37:01Speaker 1: to where you're not like spending that quality time, to
- 37:03Speaker 1: where it just comes down to, like, you know, we
- 37:05Speaker 1: live in the same house. We're more roommates than anything else,
- 37:07Speaker 1: like I miss you. One thing that Charles does a
- 37:09Speaker 1: really good job of is like after if I would
- 37:12Speaker 1: encourage anything, it would be following up on that conversation
- 37:15Speaker 1: and just getting something in the books for you too,
- 37:18Speaker 1: so you guys can do one of these things, whether
- 37:19Speaker 1: it's a brunch of coffee, a date night, a stay cahit,
- 37:23Speaker 1: whatever it is. Yeah, what Charlo does a really good
- 37:26Speaker 1: job of is staying on that pressure of getting something.
- 37:28Speaker 4: On the calendar because it's for me like I'll just
- 37:31Speaker 4: get I'll just get going, and I'm not like she
- 37:34Speaker 4: is very good at doing that, to where hey, we
- 37:37Speaker 4: have this, we have a scheduled date night here, it
- 37:40Speaker 4: kind of gets all set up, but if you don't
- 37:43Speaker 4: follow up, it'll just kind of continue to happen and
- 37:45Speaker 4: then we still go by and you'll have the same
- 37:47Speaker 4: type of situation. Charle and I had one last night,
- 37:49Speaker 4: like if I have a dad.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Loss, there was an intentional being there in the present
- 37:53Speaker 1: moment happening last night, Like it was we got done
- 37:56Speaker 1: with dinner and we're all trying to catch up dinners.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Kind of it's not kay, but Rue wants attention. We're
- 38:01Speaker 1: trying to get Rudy, you know, Scotty's eating, she's throwing
- 38:04Speaker 1: food off the plate. Tro and I are trying to
- 38:06Speaker 1: have a conversation.
- 38:06Speaker 4: I'm trying to tell her about terminal list, but us
- 38:12Speaker 4: kind of like us just having time where I Troll
- 38:16Speaker 4: and I are actually trying to have a conversation where
- 38:18Speaker 4: we're catching up. We're telling each other stuff, but Rue
- 38:20Speaker 4: wants your attention what's going So then you got to
- 38:21Speaker 4: redirect your attention to Rue, and we kind of our
- 38:24Speaker 4: conversation gets kind of you know, kicked off the tracks.
- 38:28Speaker 4: And then we're having a moment to where I'm watching
- 38:30Speaker 4: the kids until Charlie gets home around six fifteen. I'll
- 38:32Speaker 4: have dinner ready and everything else, and then Charli gets home.
- 38:34Speaker 1: So there's kind of a moment after dinner where I'm
- 38:37Speaker 1: kind of catching up on my stuff on the phone
- 38:39Speaker 1: and the kids are having all these needs, and we're
- 38:41Speaker 1: going to take Scottie upstairs or it's bedtime. I got
- 38:43Speaker 1: Scottie on the night, She's got Rue on the night.
- 38:45Speaker 1: She's handling them both, and I'm glued to my phone
- 38:49Speaker 1: because I'm trying to figure out where Lane Kiffin's going. Yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 1: and I'm slowly going into the pantry to get the
- 38:56Speaker 1: bottle ready for Scotti, and I'm kind of taking doing
- 38:58Speaker 1: one of those take my sweet time.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I put it on there, but I'm looking at my phone.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I don't really press the button to go, and she's
- 39:03Speaker 1: already said like, hey, let's get rolling on bedtime and
- 39:05Speaker 1: then she's like.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Get the bot.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I just hear from the outside, I'm like looking at
- 39:09Speaker 1: my phone again link IVN and uh. I just hear
- 39:15Speaker 1: Charles say like, hey, bottle be present, present moment, present moment.
- 39:19Speaker 1: She's thinking in her mind, she could be saying it
- 39:21Speaker 1: as like a joke, but I kind of come out
- 39:22Speaker 1: with an attitude. I'm like, hey, that's fine. You better
- 39:25Speaker 1: make sure you're clean too from here on out. I know,
- 39:30Speaker 1: some passive aggression came out of my what's my reaction?
- 39:34Speaker 1: And we go up and we kind of go do
- 39:35Speaker 1: our separate things in there reading books. I'm putting Scottie
- 39:38Speaker 1: down reading her favorite books. She loves this little flat
- 39:40Speaker 1: book Worse Spot the Dog, and it's one of those
- 39:42Speaker 1: where you can open and open up the flaps. Oh nope,
- 39:45Speaker 1: he's not in there. Where's the next one? So we
- 39:46Speaker 1: kind of do our thing. I put Scotty down, she
- 39:48Speaker 1: puts Rude down, and Rue wants me to come up
- 39:50Speaker 1: and scratch her bag because she loves when.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Dada scratches her back. Don't blame her. What's funny.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Side note, Charles lambell with her giving her back scratch
- 39:59Speaker 1: and she's kind of put her down. She's like, all right,
- 40:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna go downstairs. She's like, can you send that out?
- 40:02Speaker 1: She's like, why do you need that? She's like, I
- 40:04Speaker 1: need that and scratch my back. She's like, well, do
- 40:05Speaker 1: you need that? Scratch you back? I just scratched your
- 40:07Speaker 1: back and she's like, yeah, but I love when Dena
- 40:09Speaker 1: scratches my back. He scratches my back every night, and
- 40:12Speaker 1: so she comes out she tells me that. I'm like, oh,
- 40:14Speaker 1: I love that. Kind of give Carl Charo a kiss
- 40:16Speaker 1: and she's like, hey, can we talk whenever you get done,
- 40:18Speaker 1: I'm like, goes, yeah, we can talk because I already know,
- 40:21Speaker 1: like I had a piss poor attitude coming out, like
- 40:24Speaker 1: all right, yeah, make sure you're clean, like I've seen
- 40:26Speaker 1: you on your phone doing stuff.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Kind of just tight. I was sensitive being sensitive about it.
- 40:33Speaker 1: But then after I kind of come downstairs and she's
- 40:36Speaker 1: she's doing her like pre bedtime routine, washing her face
- 40:40Speaker 1: and stuff, and she's like, uh, like what do you
- 40:45Speaker 1: what do you make of what happened earlier? And just
- 40:48Speaker 1: right there, I was like, hey, sweetheart, I'm sorry, like
- 40:50Speaker 1: you were right and I had a piss poor attitude yeah,
- 40:52Speaker 1: And she's like, oh okay.
- 40:54Speaker 4: But then we kind of have a.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Conversation about She's like, what is a way to where
- 40:58Speaker 1: I can say something? And she's like, because honestly, when
- 41:01Speaker 1: I said it, I'm thinking you could come back and
- 41:03Speaker 1: maybe have a joke, but you kind of had this.
- 41:05Speaker 4: I was like, I know, like I was aggressive.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I should not have said what I said, Yeah, because
- 41:10Speaker 1: I'm I'm just conscious when I am seeing it happen
- 41:12Speaker 1: to her, like I more so just give her a
- 41:14Speaker 1: little light like hey, sweetheart, like when Ru's trying to
- 41:16Speaker 1: grab her attention, and Charyl might be like, hey, I
- 41:18Speaker 1: have to get.
- 41:18Speaker 4: To this email, which I get.
- 41:19Speaker 1: She's she operates the two studios, so there's a lot
- 41:22Speaker 1: going on when somebody doesn't show up for a class
- 41:25Speaker 1: or it needs immediate urgent attention and all kind of
- 41:29Speaker 1: catch and just be like hey, sweetheart, and then she'll
- 41:31Speaker 1: get engaged with ru. And this isn't something that happens
- 41:34Speaker 1: all the time. This is us talking about our shortcomings.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Such the same example of like where she could be there, yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 4: and so I say that to her, I'm like, I
- 41:41Speaker 4: try and do it in the saw like just a
- 41:43Speaker 4: soft you know, remindered way, not like one where I'm
- 41:46Speaker 4: putting it in the bank for whenever you come at
- 41:47Speaker 4: my throat like I'm gonna have these receipts that I'm
- 41:49Speaker 4: now throwing in your face Like I'm not actually meaning
- 41:52Speaker 4: to do that.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I was just being very.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Sensitive when you're like hey, blah blah blah, and I'm
- 41:55Speaker 1: like this, how you know, we're trying to figure out
- 41:57Speaker 1: how laying Kiff it's gone?
- 41:58Speaker 4: Is he staying at all? Missus?
- 41:59Speaker 2: He going out?
- 42:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to break it down, well, why he could
- 42:02Speaker 1: be leaving? He could be leaving before the Egg Bowl,
- 42:03Speaker 1: not coaching the playoffs, like leaving his team. That would
- 42:05Speaker 1: be insane if that happens. And she's laughing about it,
- 42:09Speaker 1: but I'm like, I was like, for me, if we
- 42:11Speaker 1: just had like a like a word we could say
- 42:13Speaker 1: out there to where it's almost a reminder. So it's like, hey,
- 42:15Speaker 1: we need to be present in this or we need
- 42:18Speaker 1: our presence to be right here in this moment, Like
- 42:19Speaker 1: what if we just call each other Santa Claus or
- 42:22Speaker 1: we just say Santa Claus or we both know what
- 42:24Speaker 1: we're saying to each other and not doing it in
- 42:26Speaker 1: a way to where she could be feeling something in
- 42:28Speaker 1: that moment, And I'm taking it as her jumping at me,
- 42:31Speaker 1: when in her mind she was thinking she was like
- 42:33Speaker 1: kind of joking with me or thinking I was going
- 42:35Speaker 1: to joke back to her like hey, need your presence,
- 42:37Speaker 1: need you to be in this moment, YadA YadA, and
- 42:39Speaker 1: get in the bottle filled, And I'm just thinking, yeah,
- 42:41Speaker 1: make sure you're you're clean. It's the Bible verse, like
- 42:44Speaker 1: the speck in your eye, you got a log, You
- 42:45Speaker 1: got a log in yours.
- 42:47Speaker 3: You're throwing the sticks, but I got the stones.
- 42:52Speaker 1: But it was all the way back at the very end,
- 42:54Speaker 1: we're just talking about I'm going up the stairs to
- 42:57Speaker 1: watch Monday night football and get prepped for the lock
- 43:00Speaker 1: grim on Wednesday, and it's just we're just saying, like, hey,
- 43:02Speaker 1: we're saying we're the same team because we had a good, good,
- 43:04Speaker 1: good kiss.
- 43:05Speaker 4: She was surprised that I apologize. I'm surprised that I apologize.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Usually I'm I'm like, I.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Could be like my downfall is like I'll let something
- 43:13Speaker 1: fizzle in my brain and hold it in internally to
- 43:15Speaker 1: where I'll just kind of be in this.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I'll have this ready to go in any type of
- 43:19Speaker 4: potential argument. Yep.
- 43:22Speaker 1: And as I'm sitting there rocking Scottie, I'm like, I'm
- 43:25Speaker 1: just having this self talk with myself because I'm kind
- 43:27Speaker 1: of like stewing a little bit, but I'm also playing
- 43:29Speaker 1: the other side. I'm like, Buddy, you were like you
- 43:32Speaker 1: can get to this information about link Kiffin after bedtime
- 43:36Speaker 1: or after this these finite hours that we have when
- 43:39Speaker 1: we do get home from a long day of work
- 43:40Speaker 1: and we only have two hours really with the kids,
- 43:43Speaker 1: And I'm like, you need to just apologize, bro, And
- 43:45Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, but she kind of said, like she
- 43:47Speaker 1: kind of meant it this one. I'm like, no, dude,
- 43:49Speaker 1: you need to you need to go down here if
- 43:51Speaker 1: you want to throw her off a rock, or you
- 43:52Speaker 1: need to look her in the eye and you just
- 43:54Speaker 1: need to say, hey, I apologize because I had a
- 43:58Speaker 1: bad attitude.
- 44:00Speaker 4: The good stuff's coming in my head.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I'm thinking this is a moment where she's kind of like, hey,
- 44:03Speaker 1: the Four of the Dads Boca, like all this stuff's
- 44:05Speaker 1: going to where I'm fizzling. But then I'm like, hey,
- 44:07Speaker 1: she's right, but uh but yeah, man, you just get
- 44:11Speaker 1: caught up in your own bullshit.
- 44:13Speaker 2: You do.
- 44:14Speaker 1: You caught up in whatever's going whatever movie's going on
- 44:16Speaker 1: in your life. Hey, I have to have this attention here.
- 44:19Speaker 1: And it's like, no, you don't. You can only have
- 44:22Speaker 1: so many time, you know. I'll have a thing here
- 44:24Speaker 1: at the end where talking about you know, how fast
- 44:29Speaker 1: the early years ago, especially when you have a second kid,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and how first you know now you're on the second
- 44:33Speaker 1: so Scotty and being in these moments and how the
- 44:35Speaker 1: presence kind of reminds you with the second one grounds
- 44:37Speaker 1: you a lot more because you feel a little more
- 44:39Speaker 1: urgent and pressure with the first one, but I don't
- 44:44Speaker 1: I don't know where I'm going with that, And now
- 44:45Speaker 1: I'm just going down a foxhole.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Of I'll word vomit. I'll add to it by saying
- 44:52Speaker 3: what you just described. I have gone through with Jill
- 44:57Speaker 3: thousands of times, hundreds of thousands of times. And I'm
- 45:00Speaker 3: sure that any dad sitting at home listening is like, yo,
- 45:04Speaker 3: that's me. Derek and I often we were joking two
- 45:08Speaker 3: weeks ago, just like the little things that kind of
- 45:13Speaker 3: set you off, that like your significant others says and
- 45:16Speaker 3: you're like.
- 45:17Speaker 4: You know, oh you get worked up over it, You're
- 45:19Speaker 4: ready to put the gloves on.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 5: Verbally, the best advice I've ever gotten was from my therapist,
- 45:25Speaker 5: And here comesing where I was, you know, always kind
- 45:28Speaker 5: of we have this joke where can her like we're
- 45:29Speaker 5: on eggshells with each other, Like she makes a joke
- 45:31Speaker 5: and then I get sensitive about it, and then the
- 45:33Speaker 5: fund's gone. So we try to keep the fun there.
- 45:35Speaker 5: But there was one day where she had said something
- 45:37Speaker 5: and I came back and I had a receipt and
- 45:39Speaker 5: I was telling my therapist. I was like, yeah, well,
- 45:41Speaker 5: you know it's something like I had beard, hair in
- 45:43Speaker 5: the sink and she has hair on the floor. And
- 45:45Speaker 5: my therapist goes, dude, that's so sick. What did you
- 45:47Speaker 5: get for winning? And I just stay quiet and he goes,
- 45:54Speaker 5: you know, like, you know that's a joke, right, And
- 45:56Speaker 5: I was like thanks Sean, Like yeah, I know, that's
- 45:58Speaker 5: a joke. Like I didn't get anything. He's like, not
- 46:00Speaker 5: even a cookie, Like you didn't get a rib that
- 46:02Speaker 5: you won? Dude, Like, isn't that awesome? I'm like, okay, John,
- 46:04Speaker 5: I know what, John, you don't see all this hair
- 46:07Speaker 5: that's all over the shower?
- 46:09Speaker 2: Do you want her side? Did she call you? Oh?
- 46:12Speaker 3: I seems happening.
- 46:13Speaker 4: You're on her site here.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Huh.
- 46:15Speaker 5: I was just like, ah shit, Like I was so
- 46:17Speaker 5: proud that I won, And then I was like, I
- 46:18Speaker 5: didn't win anything. All I wanted was anger and yes
- 46:22Speaker 5: and potentially going to bed with a little chip on
- 46:25Speaker 5: your shoulder.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Yes, and the do we have come back to this
- 46:30Speaker 3: thing five million times? Communication? You say it all the time,
- 46:33Speaker 3: y'all say it all the time. I say it all
- 46:35Speaker 3: the time.
- 46:35Speaker 4: It's what it's always going to be.
- 46:37Speaker 3: It's what it's always gonna be. And and those frustrations
- 46:40Speaker 3: are going to come out in little moments of Derek
- 46:43Speaker 3: getting called out about his beard, uh trimmings, you getting
- 46:47Speaker 3: called out about being on the phone with Lane Kiffin,
- 46:50Speaker 3: me getting called out, or being on the phone looking
- 46:53Speaker 3: for Lank.
- 46:53Speaker 1: But that sounds so funny, is going I'm seeing this.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Somebody took a screenshot of a snap jet to said
- 47:00Speaker 1: he might's getting a deal done?
- 47:02Speaker 3: Boys, are we on this? Me me telling Jill that
- 47:06Speaker 3: I need to get on my phone for work purposes,
- 47:08Speaker 3: which I did for a little three minute thing, and
- 47:11Speaker 3: then now she's here in TikTok's and memes playing she's pissed,
- 47:15Speaker 3: and we can all pop off in those moments, but
- 47:20Speaker 3: like there is something that we want to communicate further
- 47:23Speaker 3: beyond that of like where Lane Kiffin goes to coaches
- 47:27Speaker 3: not more important than you, Charo or more important.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Rue or Scotty.
- 47:32Speaker 3: And I'm sorry for putting that before Scotty's bottle, like
- 47:37Speaker 3: I should have been locked in. You're totally right, yeah wait, yeah.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like that.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Uh, it's like the idea of your both sitting across
- 47:46Speaker 1: from each other at the table, like when these debates
- 47:48Speaker 1: are when the ship on your shoulders kind of building
- 47:50Speaker 1: and you're fizzling a little bit and you want to
- 47:52Speaker 1: get the entire goals to how do you get from
- 47:54Speaker 1: the opposite side of the table to sitting next to them?
- 47:57Speaker 4: And to do that you have to ask yourself why,
- 47:59Speaker 4: prop Like why am.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I angry about this? Why did I get mad? Why
- 48:02Speaker 1: does this bother me so much? Why do I care
- 48:04Speaker 1: about this so much? You almost as to ask yourself
- 48:07Speaker 1: like five whys before you get to Okay, I know
- 48:10Speaker 1: where this is coming from from me. Then you you
- 48:12Speaker 1: also have to fully put yourself in their shoes, and
- 48:14Speaker 1: you're probably gonna find that answer after.
- 48:15Speaker 4: You ask yourself why five times. So that way, then
- 48:18Speaker 4: when you do go.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Back to the table with her, you're sitting next to
- 48:21Speaker 1: her trying to solve a bigger problem. Because the petty
- 48:25Speaker 1: bullshit that we get mad about with the hair, the
- 48:27Speaker 1: phone and everything else, it's not it's not that it's
- 48:30Speaker 1: not we're making it way bigger than what it should be. Yeah,
- 48:35Speaker 1: because really it's about us. It's about ourselves at the
- 48:38Speaker 1: end of the day. And then when you have the
- 48:40Speaker 1: reminder that you know we are teammates, we are partners
- 48:42Speaker 1: for life. I have an absolute badass with me on
- 48:45Speaker 1: this journey of life. How do we get back to
- 48:47Speaker 1: being on the same team? Yeah, good stuff?
- 48:51Speaker 2: Boys.
- 48:51Speaker 4: Can we talk about these grim fairy tales?
- 48:53Speaker 2: Yes? Please?
- 48:54Speaker 4: So Ruse in a phase right now. Ruse in her
- 48:58Speaker 4: three year old like she's she dialed in.
- 49:00Speaker 1: We started to go to these fairy tale books and
- 49:02Speaker 1: these are like it's like grim something fairy tales and
- 49:04Speaker 1: it's like this book, the Brother's Grim, The Brother's Grim.
- 49:07Speaker 1: There you go, it's like fifty fairy tales in this book.
- 49:11Speaker 1: And it's kind of we've kind of moved to like
- 49:14Speaker 1: from all the picture like picture books and everything else,
- 49:17Speaker 1: what's the one that I hate fancy nancy stuff where
- 49:19Speaker 1: you can see photos in every in everything to where hey,
- 49:22Speaker 1: thank god, Now let's challenge her to use her imagination,
- 49:26Speaker 1: like story time is gonna be used in there laying
- 49:28Speaker 1: we're gonna read these stories. There's only oh, like the
- 49:30Speaker 1: fifty fairy tales. Each fairy tale might have one photo
- 49:33Speaker 1: and it's just this drawing. It's not even that it's
- 49:35Speaker 1: not even that like exciting to see. She still loves
- 49:37Speaker 1: to look at them, but the rest is all it's
- 49:39Speaker 1: all written. And so it's like hey, storytime, Like here's
- 49:43Speaker 1: where you use your imagination. Like Asdad and Mama reads
- 49:46Speaker 1: stories to you, you get to now use your imagination
- 49:49Speaker 1: and put some of these pictures together, like as we
- 49:51Speaker 1: read you this story downside, the con for the parents,
- 49:53Speaker 1: as you're reading a much longer story. These stories are.
- 49:56Speaker 1: This isn't the picture books where you have one or
- 49:58Speaker 1: two lines on each page. You're reading these stories, but
- 50:01Speaker 1: Ru's in his face where she's asking a million different questions.
- 50:07Speaker 1: And these grim fairy tale books, it's wild, like people
- 50:11Speaker 1: are dying in every story, like to where you know,
- 50:14Speaker 1: there's this one where it's like a red rose and
- 50:16Speaker 1: snow white and they're in this little side quest and
- 50:19Speaker 1: there's this dwarf.
- 50:20Speaker 4: And this dwarf stole a bunch of jewelry he has.
- 50:23Speaker 1: He has this sack of jewelry in his bag because
- 50:26Speaker 1: he took it from some prince or some king who
- 50:29Speaker 1: now has to be turned into a bear. But along
- 50:31Speaker 1: the way, this dwarf, this angry dwarf, he keeps getting
- 50:36Speaker 1: his beard stuck in stuff. He got it stuck in
- 50:38Speaker 1: a tree, you got it stuck in a fishing net.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And each time you have to stop and red Rose
- 50:45Speaker 1: and snow White who's wondering the forest. They come across
- 50:47Speaker 1: this angry dwarf and they're having this dialogue with him.
- 50:49Speaker 1: They have to get out scissors to cut his beard off,
- 50:51Speaker 1: and the whole time he's like, well, why did he
- 50:54Speaker 1: have to cut his beard off?
- 50:55Speaker 4: Well, got stuck in the tree. Well why did he
- 50:57Speaker 4: get stuck in the tree.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 50:58Speaker 4: He's runnering around and got to call it in the tree?
- 51:01Speaker 4: Is he mean?
- 51:02Speaker 1: Well, I don't know if he's mean, sweetheart. We got
- 51:04Speaker 1: to sit back and kind of read the story. I
- 51:06Speaker 1: haven't figured out if he's mean yet. But why are
- 51:10Speaker 1: they in the forest? Well, sweetheart, that's just where the stories,
- 51:14Speaker 1: that's just where the story is based. And his beard
- 51:17Speaker 1: beard had to get cut off and say hey, sweetheart,
- 51:19Speaker 1: can you can you lay down and we'll just get through.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Let's just get through this next paragraph and then we
- 51:22Speaker 1: can ask more questions. But this is the phase that
- 51:24Speaker 1: Rue's in, and along the way this this dwarf. Then
- 51:28Speaker 1: he gets his beer stuck in the net. And then
- 51:31Speaker 1: the third scene is he comes across this bear, this
- 51:34Speaker 1: old king who is transformed into a bear. The bear
- 51:36Speaker 1: wants to kill him and the dwarf is trying to say, no,
- 51:39Speaker 1: you need to kill Red Rose and snow White and
- 51:42Speaker 1: we can.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Share this jewelry forever.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Bear doesn't see that he's tunnel visioned on the dwarf,
- 51:47Speaker 1: because for the bear to come back to prince or
- 51:49Speaker 1: king form, he has to kill the dwarf and get
- 51:51Speaker 1: the sack of jewelry and jewels and everything. Come on,
- 51:55Speaker 1: come on, And so why do they want to kill
- 51:59Speaker 1: the girls.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Well, the he wants to.
- 52:03Speaker 4: Yeah, we just found out the dwarf's mean. Well why
- 52:05Speaker 4: is he mean?
- 52:06Speaker 1: Well, he just wants to survive and live. And you're
- 52:08Speaker 1: trying to explain all these angles to where somebody's gonna
- 52:10Speaker 1: have to die in the story. And the bear, disacknowledged,
- 52:14Speaker 1: doesn't care about the girls, goes to and this is
- 52:17Speaker 1: written in there.
- 52:18Speaker 4: The bear swings his paul so hard.
- 52:20Speaker 2: The dwarf die or the dwarf can't feel his arms
- 52:23Speaker 2: and legs and eventually dies.
- 52:26Speaker 4: And this is stuff that's like in the story.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Yeah, not read what this one's called The Seven Goats
- 52:31Speaker 1: the Wolf and seven goats, and the wolf comes in
- 52:34Speaker 1: and eats all the little goat. The little goat. Kids,
- 52:37Speaker 1: there's one that survives. It's hiding in a clock. Mom
- 52:40Speaker 1: comes home. The little baby, the baby goat that's still alive,
- 52:43Speaker 1: is saying, like this wolf came in and ate all
- 52:45Speaker 1: the goats. Because Mom was saying, don't answer the door
- 52:47Speaker 1: to the wolf. The wolf disguises himself, paints his black
- 52:51Speaker 1: Paul's white, puts on all the different stuff, and ends
- 52:55Speaker 1: up getting in and killing all these all these little goats.
- 52:58Speaker 1: The wolf is outside sleeping by the tree, and the
- 53:01Speaker 1: lone survivors telling them am about it. They go outside.
- 53:04Speaker 1: They take a pair of scissors and cut the wolf's
- 53:06Speaker 1: stomach open. Free all the goats because they were still alive. Yeah,
- 53:10Speaker 1: free all the goats because they were still alive. Wolf
- 53:12Speaker 1: is still sleeping. They sew his stomach back up with
- 53:16Speaker 1: rocks in his stomach. Stones in his stomach, so he
- 53:19Speaker 1: thinks he's still full. He thinks he's still full. He
- 53:21Speaker 1: gets up and since the stones and not goats, he
- 53:24Speaker 1: feels a little dehydrated because of all how dry all
- 53:27Speaker 1: the stones are. So he goes over to the well
- 53:30Speaker 1: to get a drink of water, but he's so heavy
- 53:32Speaker 1: he ends up falling in the well, sinking to the
- 53:34Speaker 1: bottom and drowning and all the goats. Imagine all the
- 53:38Speaker 1: questions throughout that story. Oh yeah, yeah, the scissors. Well
- 53:43Speaker 1: are the baby goats? Are they still alive in the
- 53:45Speaker 1: in the tummy? Yeah, they're kind of floating around a
- 53:47Speaker 1: little bit. Well can they breathe? Well yeah, because there's
- 53:49Speaker 1: a little bit of air on top of the stomach acid,
- 53:52Speaker 1: and so they can still breathe. Why are there rocks?
- 53:56Speaker 1: And it's because they're trying to make him still seem full.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Why did he fall in the well because he's so
- 54:00Speaker 1: top heavy he fell in the well. Well, can't he swim? No,
- 54:02Speaker 1: he can't swim. That's why he sunk to the bottom
- 54:04Speaker 1: and drown. There were no rails because in her mind
- 54:07Speaker 1: she her swimming pool has rails to come out of.
- 54:10Speaker 1: There's no rails. No, there was no rails. He doesn't
- 54:12Speaker 1: know how to swim. No, he didn't do swimming lessons. No,
- 54:15Speaker 1: he didn't do swimming lessons.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Great question, yeah, great question.
- 54:18Speaker 4: No he didn't do swimming lessons. Do you ever do
- 54:21Speaker 4: you have?
- 54:21Speaker 1: This is the phase that I'm in with Rue and
- 54:23Speaker 1: I'm sitting here reading some of these stories, like, man,
- 54:24Speaker 1: should she be you know, should she be here because
- 54:27Speaker 1: she'll get home and she knows. She understands, like good guys,
- 54:30Speaker 1: bad guys and dadad. We got to get the bad guy.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Tie him down to the floor, time to dada. You
- 54:35Speaker 1: hit his face and all hit his legs, and she's
- 54:37Speaker 1: got this. She's got a she's got a clothes hanger,
- 54:40Speaker 1: like hitting the ground where his legs are.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Like, you get his face. I'm like, all right, I
- 54:43Speaker 4: think he's done. We got him like he died.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Guy. Yeah, yeah, Uh.
- 54:49Speaker 4: Get his teeth, sweetheart, I think we've done enough to this.
- 54:51Speaker 4: I think we've done enough to this. Fan. You get
- 54:53Speaker 4: his teeth, I'll get his ankles. Oh, we gotta get
- 54:56Speaker 4: his hands. We got to get his arms, his foe arms,
- 54:58Speaker 4: getting his knees, your nails. Now, she'd be sitting there
- 55:03Speaker 4: with a crown on. We got to get her into
- 55:05Speaker 4: a dress. She's got butterfly wings on, just holding the hanger.
- 55:08Speaker 1: We gotta save the castle and it'll be I'm I'm
- 55:12Speaker 1: I'm Anna, Charles, Anna Ruz Elsa and Scottie is baby Elsa,
- 55:17Speaker 1: and we gotta get everybody. We gotta save everybody and
- 55:19Speaker 1: then get back to the castle. The castle's in her office.
- 55:21Speaker 1: We got to close the doors. Yeah yeah, and then
- 55:23Speaker 1: she stays on the look for bad guys.
- 55:25Speaker 6: Good.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, She's like, call bad guy, we gotta go
- 55:28Speaker 1: get him, hold him down. Then we'll be kind of debriefing,
- 55:32Speaker 1: kind of just relaxing. We'll finally get to the couch
- 55:34Speaker 1: of the living room, like, hey, let's just take a
- 55:35Speaker 1: load off.
- 55:36Speaker 4: Let's relax.
- 55:36Speaker 1: We've done a lot of playing, a lot of chasing,
- 55:38Speaker 1: a lot of running. We've been getting all the bad guys.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Yeah that I just want to let you know.
- 55:42Speaker 1: I tied him down and I I taped him down,
- 55:46Speaker 1: is what she said. Oh, I taped him down and
- 55:49Speaker 1: then he died because I put coloring all over him.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I put all the colors on top of him. Like, sweetheart,
- 55:54Speaker 1: you saved, you saved the kingdom.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Can I just say one I did have a question
- 56:01Speaker 3: of when she's asking questions, do you ever pitch it
- 56:03Speaker 3: back to her? Do you ever ask her why she
- 56:08Speaker 3: thinks it's that way, like of, hey, why are they
- 56:11Speaker 3: in the woods?
- 56:12Speaker 2: Like do you do you?
- 56:13Speaker 1: That's a good that's a good idea. I love that
- 56:15Speaker 1: little dad hack within the storytelling. Yeah, that's a good
- 56:17Speaker 1: idea because sometimes you get you get caught up and
- 56:19Speaker 1: fielding all these questions, and you're like, sweetheart, like we
- 56:22Speaker 1: gotta start relaxing. She'll be, she'll be. She'll be like
- 56:26Speaker 1: laying on her bed listening to the story. And next
- 56:27Speaker 1: thing you know, she's like sitting up on the edge
- 56:29Speaker 1: of the bed like listening to like she's enthralled. Yeah,
- 56:33Speaker 1: which in her little brain, her little brain's going and
- 56:36Speaker 1: she's asking all these questions. And I'm like, sweetheart, we
- 56:38Speaker 1: gotta lay back in bed because one I want to
- 56:40Speaker 1: get I want to read the story. Like, Sweetheart, we
- 56:42Speaker 1: gotta use you know, I know you're asking a bunch
- 56:44Speaker 1: of questions. I love that you're asking all these questions,
- 56:46Speaker 1: but it's also bedtime. We need to get you laid
- 56:48Speaker 1: down and let that continue reading the rest story because
- 56:51Speaker 1: we got about six pages to go.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 56:54Speaker 3: But that's a great call, Yeah, Doug, Well, I just
- 56:57Speaker 3: thought that could be something fun to just like throw
- 57:00Speaker 3: question back to her and be like, I don't know,
- 57:01Speaker 3: why do you think they're in the woods.
- 57:02Speaker 4: Yeah, we're like, well, what is where.
- 57:04Speaker 3: The animals are? And there's a wolf. You'll be like,
- 57:06Speaker 3: a great point.
- 57:08Speaker 4: The point let's keep reading and see see if you're right,
- 57:11Speaker 4: see what comes of it?
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, or like, do you think he's mean or
- 57:14Speaker 1: is he mean? I don't know, Yeah, does he seem mean?
- 57:16Speaker 1: Challenge her to use that creativity on her side.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I love that.
- 57:20Speaker 5: Love that it fits what you did with Rue and
- 57:21Speaker 5: her outfit where she comes down the stairs and you say,
- 57:23Speaker 5: why'd you pick those?
- 57:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's what I've been doing.
- 57:26Speaker 1: We've been doing a much better job with all that stuff,
- 57:28Speaker 1: like just holding in the first comment of oh my god,
- 57:31Speaker 1: you look so beautiful, Charles.
- 57:34Speaker 4: She came out over the weekend, was like, hey, brace yourself.
- 57:35Speaker 4: Rue looks like a poodle. The way she made me
- 57:37Speaker 4: do her hair.
- 57:38Speaker 1: She's like a couple of braids. Here goes down into
- 57:40Speaker 1: a ponytail. The ponytail is also braid, and she wanted
- 57:44Speaker 1: all these uh, all these ribbons, all these ribbons, all.
- 57:48Speaker 4: These bows just in her hair. Mm hmm. She comes down.
- 57:51Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm glad you kind of prefaced that and
- 57:52Speaker 1: told me, because it's not as bad as I was thinking.
- 57:54Speaker 1: But yeah, she's kind of decorated like a poodle right now.
- 57:58Speaker 2: That's so big.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you were talking about the storytelling. You were talking
- 58:04Speaker 3: about I said, do you ever pitch it back to her?
- 58:08Speaker 3: And there was one other thing that I wanted to
- 58:09Speaker 3: say about the storytelling or the reading of books. Oh,
- 58:15Speaker 3: the whole tier. I tied them down. They're dead now,
- 58:18Speaker 3: blah blah blah. Like I know that maybe some people
- 58:22Speaker 3: listening are like, I don't know how I feel about that.
- 58:25Speaker 3: My personal opinion on it, I think it's pretty cool
- 58:27Speaker 3: that a three year old is starting to understand the
- 58:30Speaker 3: concepts of life, death, bad guy, good guy. Like, I
- 58:36Speaker 3: think it is a good time for those types of
- 58:41Speaker 3: story arcs and like real life things. She's getting a
- 58:45Speaker 3: small grasp of it, but she's getting a grasp of it.
- 58:47Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't mind that it's happening.
- 58:49Speaker 1: It's more of the shock as a parent when your
- 58:51Speaker 1: first one is starting to familiarize themselves with those concepts
- 58:56Speaker 1: and you just kind of feel out of your depths
- 58:58Speaker 1: and like, should we be should we be talking about this?
- 59:01Speaker 4: Look, we got the story. Charlie bought the book, so
- 59:05Speaker 4: I guess this is okay?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Mom?
- 59:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Does she know that this is We're pretty deep, Like
- 59:12Speaker 1: we're talking scissors and we're cutting open stomachs of wolves.
- 59:17Speaker 4: Like, yeah, like we have to. We have to read
- 59:19Speaker 4: the story of the wolf just coming in and taking
- 59:21Speaker 4: over the village and eating all the children.
- 59:24Speaker 3: That's pretty cool, dude.
- 59:25Speaker 4: Yes, mom's witches bad guys.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Yes, dude.
- 59:30Speaker 1: The only thing I don't like is how the king
- 59:31Speaker 1: are the prince. They always get the girl with zero work,
- 59:35Speaker 1: and now I'm starting to understand it as a girl.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Dad Like, yeah, some of these stories, I kind of
- 59:39Speaker 1: hate him because it's not gonna be some Prince Charming
- 59:42Speaker 1: that shows up. Whenever he be dazzles you with something,
- 59:44Speaker 1: you fall in love with him. That's how that shit
- 59:46Speaker 1: goes That's how that shit goes down. Bro, Like this
- 59:49Speaker 1: dude ain't working at all. He's just the king and
- 59:51Speaker 1: he's got the world. So he's like, hey, I want
- 59:53Speaker 1: you to come back with me and be my wife,
- 59:55Speaker 1: and she comes back with him. Is why I'm thinking,
- 59:57Speaker 1: That's not how shit works. Stuff doesn't just get handed
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: to you. Yeah, I'm excited for when those questions come.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm going to handle them, but
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I'm going to handle them. I think the King could
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: have done a little bit more there. What do you
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: think on him the girl? Are they snow white. She's
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: pretty weak mentally.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: This guy kisses her and all of a sudden she's
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: gonna get married to him.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: And she gets all Google Gaga. What do you think
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: about that, honey?
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I want to hear a little bit about Jared Demon
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Seaman Team six. We talked about it at the beginning
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: and he said he did a couple of things.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Damon.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: Yeah, just get into the couple of storytellers.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: So we went down to Franklin. First off, the Beamon's
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: that is Mackenzie, Jared's girlfriend, and then Jared Beamon. They
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: live together. They're just down the road from us, and
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: I've been meaning to hang out with these guys, like
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: purposefully hang out with them because of our proximity, but
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: we also very much enjoy their company. Jared's a gym
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: for anybody that's listening to for the dads. If you
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: want to see more content on Jared Beaman, check out
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Anything Busting.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of Jared Beeman lore out there.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: A ton of lore, a ton of demon Lord, which
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: is what we call him. But was very excited because
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: it was going to be his first time really hanging
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: out with Scarlet, and so we brought Scarlet to Franklin.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: They had the best attitude. Because Scarlett was having a
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: tough morning, we had to postpone departure time to Franklin,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: which ended up making us miss the Franklin Farmer's Market,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: which was the whole point of us going to Franklin.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: But the Bemon's had the best attitude ever. We got
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: down there, grabbed lunch at Culinary Food drop Out. Is
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: that the name of it. It's something like that. It's
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: like culinary Dropouts. Yeah, fantastic brunch. But it was really
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: a day that Jill and I got to let loose
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: and we're having some drinks at brunch.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: We were walking around outside with like Scarlet and the
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: stroller and demons like, hey, yo, god, k I help
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: carry that backpack?
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Yo, ky, push what you need? Man?
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Let me know what you need here?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Hey, let me know what you need? And he was
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: being so helpful.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: H yeah, here you go go change your diaper. I
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: think I did I tell this When we were recording
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: of him being like he helped with one thing while
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: we were in Franklin, he goes, yeah, make sure you
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: telling about that on the podcast.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Yeah, cause, uh, what do you do?
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: I think I think it was literally like helping me
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: hold the backpack, like it was something to me.
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: Was that he and I don't want to quot him
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: in correctly pushed the stroller the whole day, or like
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: he he pushed the stroller a ton.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: He's how it was worded. He pushed the stroller a ton.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: He did. He helped with Hey, can we you know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: can I help carry this so you can concentrate on Scarlet.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: He was putting on a great display of being a
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Seman Team sixer friend, but very much felt the pressure
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: from Coop's performance, if that makes sense.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and it didn't. It didn't feel fake at all.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: It didn't feel fake at all. Didn't feel performative, No.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: It did not. But you could tell there was some
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: pressure there of you. Hey, Coop said a bar and
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: I need to make sure that when Sherman's on the podcast,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: it's not gonna be like, well, Demon didn't do shit. Yeah,
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Demon stunk, But dude, it's very It was a very
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: great day from the standpoint of just a reminder to
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Jill and I that we can go out there and
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: live life. We can hang out with friends. Seeing Scarlett
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: interact with Mackenzie. She was obsessed with Mackenzie, just staring
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: at her the whole time. One to hold her, one
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: to hold on to her fingers. Seeing Jared, who Coop
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: has identified as being a baby guy, he is very
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: pro baby. He thinks babies are cute. He wants to
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: hold him. Jared is not a baby guy and he
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: would tell you that. But seeing him throughout the day,
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: and he even said something at the end of the
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: day he was like, yo, I kind of get like
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: this whole baby thing, like yo u yo, baby's kind
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: of rip, Like, uh, I can see why people have
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: the uh So it was very fun to like kind
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: of see him going into the day of like how
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: is this gonna go? And then Scarlett had like an
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: all Star showing zero cries, zero blowout love zero. So there,
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: you know, Jared's probably sitting there going, oh Sherman's had
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: two beers and now he's you know, having an espresso
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: martini and we've been going around all day and hanging
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: out all these little shops like nothing's strange for him.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: This is great. It's kind of a good life.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he's kind of doing a great job, you know,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: indirectly recruiting a Papa team sixer.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, but you know, reminding him behind
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: the scenes of like he is not all such kind
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: and rainbows. And this is quite literally my first drink
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I think in I mean six months, seven months.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: But it was a good like that was a great
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: day for me to get to kick back and let
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: the hair down. You feel the wind, yes, And that's
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: that day is what helped lead into that conversation that
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: I had with Jill on Sunday.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: It was a tone setter. It was a complete tone
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: setter of like, hey, we're in love and like we
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: love each other, we love having I.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Love you, baby, Hey, I love you, and I'm gonna
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: remind you tonight. Remind let me give you a little
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: ramond that shockwave opening Daddy remind you.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: But it truly was.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: It was just a reminder of like, we do love
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: each other, and we are together for a like, we
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: enjoy each other's company and we get to continue living
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: life with each other, and it's not just a bunch
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: of checklists of things that we need to check off.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: For Scarlet.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yeah a Dike, we gotta put the pressure, chef, we
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: gotta put the pressure on them. Make sure he follows
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: up they get a date night logged in. We gotta
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: help our we gotta help our we gotta help our guy.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: We gotta help our guy. In the teams, pa lease please,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: But I love that you were kind of recruiting a
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: little bit. I love the demons getting in the mix,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the Semen Team sixers as the captain back there. Like fatherhood,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: it rips. It has its very low moments, but it
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: creates a bunch of extremely your best moments in life.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: We actually just shouting out some more comments. We have
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: some new dad comments. I got one to hear from
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: a Jonah Maggard on Instagram. A guard Maggard doesn't matter
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: what your name is. He's a PT sixer, been a
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: short time listener, but already addicted. As everyone else says,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Wednesdays are not my favorite day of the week. I'm
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: a PT sixer with a three year old and a
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: one year old, both girls. Oh shout out Jonah my
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: type of guy. Hashtag girl dad. I've been in the
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: trenches it's day one and hate missing out on any
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: even our opportunity with my girls. They're my number one priority.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Love that y'all can be so relatable, genuine supportive and
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: other dads that have daily struggles. I personally struggle with
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: the transition from one to two kids. Our first daughter
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: is a big dadad girl. You know, it's hard for
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: me to bond with the newborn girl for the longest time,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: especially since she was boob, especially since she was boob. Okay,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: but fast forward to a year later and now we
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: have a great bond and I can balance time for
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: both of them and still help mom out. Love what
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: y'all are doing to look forward to seeing what other
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: dad hacks and advice y'all have ps. Our one year
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: old still is a sleeping through the night and I've
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: been meaning to try the cabbage tricks soon. If it works,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I will let you know. Shout out Jonah, shout out fatherhood.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I go through the same stuff with my one year old,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: scott Zilla. We have a great relationship, but she is
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: addicted addicted to mom.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: She's addicted to mom right now.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: And we got another one here from Brandon Kay Muffitt
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Muffet Brandon Moffatt maybe the case Silent nine on YouTube.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Fellas got introduced to this spob on My Buddy and
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: wanted to get through all them before I commented, this
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: guy gets it. He gets happy to be here and
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: happy to say I'm going to be a first time
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: dad to a baby girl. In March showed out Brandon,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: she's an IVF baby. Let's go, and we're so grateful
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: to finally be parents. Thank you Will for sharing your
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: experiences with IVF and all that comes with it. Stoked
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: to be a girl dad and member of PT six
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: that's big time. Boys like to have you, dude, You're
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: happy to have you. Yeah, man, and shout out you
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: you and your wife.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Your wife.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: In particular for the IVF journey, we got Anthony Petrone
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: four six three to one on YouTube. Yo shir fellow
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: PT sixer with a five month old and a wife
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: who was a nurse here.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: And my wife's nickname is jelly Bean. Oh lol, my
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: lool lol. My jelly Bean is also having a really
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: hard time dealing with what she sees at work and
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: relating it back to our daughter. Do you have any
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: tips share on things have worked for your Jilly Bean?
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Would be awesome if she could talk about it when
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: she's on the podcast. Love you boys, you helped me
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: through these first five months. First off, congratulations on the
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: five month old and shout out and as far as
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: it advice goes. I actually was taking the dogs on
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: a walk last night and was answering some DMS and
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: a guy reached out to me, essentially saying that his
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: wife is in nursing and also struggles what she sees
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: at work. Being open, Anthony, being open with your wife
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: to have those conversations and talk through those things with
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: your wife, but asking her the questions that will help
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: prompt that instead of just expecting her to bring it
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: to you and then you have the conversation and be
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: open to have it. Ask her some questions that kind
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: of like help open the floor for her of like
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: how is work? Blah blah blah. Do that as like
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: your first kind of hey, how is work? See how
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: she answers that, and then do you see anything hard today?
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Are there any kids that were just like kind of
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: breaking your heart, et cetera and giving her the opportunity
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: to go, oh my gosh, you know what? There was
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: this one and da da dua. Because I feel like
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: being able to be that person to bounce off those
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: feelings with somebody, that's a great first step of helping
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: them process that.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: I love that that would be my advice. That's great advice.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: Crack a cold one to that advice.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I did, dude, speaking of crack a cold one, crack
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: a cold one does go to communication.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: By the way, for this week, okay.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Either diving cracker cole one to communication or this week
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: is more of like sip a hot one. Yes, we
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: have a hot chocolate flavor with Liquid IV. Where you
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: know you get your hot water. It is getting the
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: colder times of the year. In liquid has this hot
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: chocolate flavor, so you just throw it in the hot
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: water and again more electrolytes than any leading sports drink,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: more better hydration than sixteen ounces of water. You just
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: throw a packet in your water, whether it's cold water.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: They got a bunch of flavors. Cotton candies my favorite
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: flavor flavor to go with the cold water. I do
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: enjoy this hot chocolate on sipping a hot one. If
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: you want a hot beverage that also gives you electrolytes
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: and hydration, vitamins and minerals, all the fun stuff.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: It's Liquid IV.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: You go to Liquid IV, you can use code bust
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: and you'll get twenty percent off from the boys to
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: you from the dads.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: To you, Yes you ET six to you and yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: sip a hot one, crack a cold one. This week
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: is for communication.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Communicado uh with your spouse because we I mean, we've
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: been bringing it up all day today with all of
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: our stories and then especially that comment last one. Here
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: packs and Hancock on Spotify one shelf in fat staff
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: PT six f from day one here listen to the
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: first EPI on the way to our first image appointment.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: And now we are in the hospital waiting the birth
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: of our first little girl. Hayes, flooded with emotions and
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: watching love and watching the love of my life be
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: an absolute warrior as a poke and prodder for this
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: induction four centimeters and counting the bed quote unquote for me,
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: sucks harder than a shop back. Good baby mama soon
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: to be wifey can't eat anything and is starving. Good
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: prayers up, rain down.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: PT six out, PT.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Six out, I actually have a one getting admitted to
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: the hospital as well, and shout out you baby Hayes.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Welcome to the world. Welcome for the world. That's a
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: milk team six mom, come on, we just got a minute.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: This was from David Gudurez Gutierrez, David Gutierrez.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: We just got a minuted to the hospital. My wife's
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: water broke. Now we wait for our sweet baby girl
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: to be born. Shout out girl, das Man. Ready to
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: earn my couch badge for the second time. Good staring
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: at you, shirm repeat offender. This is baby number two,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: but first girl. Very excited to be a girl.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Dad.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I love the podcast. I wanted to call and leave
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: a voicemail. But baby girls about ten days early. With
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: the holidays right around the corner, what family traditions are
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: you looking forward to? It's a great topic. Well, what
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: we got, we got Thanksgiving next week, holiday seasons, holiday traditions. Y.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I'm not looking forward to. Please
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: the pressure that comes with gift giving, the stress that
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: comes with gifting. As a guy, It's like my love
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: language is not even close to gifts. Like I always
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: appreciate if I do get a gift, if there's a
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: thoughtful gift, it kind of reminds me OF's like wuck,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I wish I thought, you know, I wish I could
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: put my attention toward a very thoughtful gift for somebody.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: It's just a reminder that I suck at gifts and
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: so the.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: Stress are you talking about to Charro or are you
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: talking about in general?
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: In general? In general?
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Okay, it's a little like even even with Charro, like
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: like i get to where I'm two months out and
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: I'm like, I need to get on gift giving.
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: I need to get and not procrastinate. So a tradition
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: I'm not looking forward to is gift giving the family.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: As a new parent, I would say the family dynamic
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: around the holidays is a lot different. You get to
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: as the parent of the kid, like say you got
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: the grandkids, I'm the only one. I'm one of three boys.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I'm the only one with kids right now, so I
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: almost have the leverage of making people come to me
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: because then you got to travel with kids, and you
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: definitely like don't want to do that if family members
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: have other kids. I know when my brothers when they
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: have kids, that'll come into the fold. But the family
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: dynamic kind of shifts because maybe you had a tradition
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: of going to your parents and maybe that's a few
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: hour driver you got to get on a plane, and
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: now that you have kids, it kind of all that
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: goes through your head. And then if you have you're
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: married to your wife, she might have family traditions where
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: you're trying to balance what the scheduling looks like, and
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: god forbid, there's other siblings that also have kids. So
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: then you're trying to map out and plan all these things.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: That's where a lot of stress and pressure comes into
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: play for the families and for yourself individually, because you
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: want to you want to care for and make sure
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: it priority for your parents or your family that won't
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: to see the grand kids, but also prioritize your wife's
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: parents who also want to see the grand kids. So
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: not looking forward to those scheduling conflicts right now, we
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: don't have them.
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: Right now.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: We hold the leverage.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Yes, Charles, the only ones she has a brother, if
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: she's the only ones with kids, I'm the only one
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: in my family with kids. So now you have the
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: leverage of getting your family to come to you, which
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: is a nice which is great leverage to.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: Have needed that reminder, by the way, you you have
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: said that before, maybe two or three episodes ago of
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: like Sherman, you hold all the leverage, like you got
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: the kiddos.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: You got the kids out, you approaches the parents, they'd
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: be on you to pressure you to still come or
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: make it in, and it's like, hey, listen, I love you,
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: I hear you. Hear's how our world has changed. And
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: you just got to know in the back of your
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: mind you got the kids.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: You got the kids, and you can metaphorically hold them hostage, yeah,
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: and be like, hey, you do what I say.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: You come this way. You don't have to be that aggressive.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: Maybe you can.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Maybe you're at a point to where you do say like,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I got the kids, what are you gonna do? But creatively,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: like in their brain it's like, hey, we got to
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: solve this problem. This this problem is hanging in the balance. Ultimately,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: they have to be the one that bends the knee
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: because they want to see the kids well. And thankfully, look,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: we're gonna do our own Thanksgiving. Look, we're gonna do
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: our own Christmas.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Here.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: You'll love for you guys to come. My wife's parents
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: they're coming in. What are you gonna do?
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: And thankfully you said that to me, And it opened
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: up a great conversation with my mom of like, you know,
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: because my mom wants to know, like, hey, what are
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: you El's plans? What do you else plans? And I
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: just straight up said, Mom, the learning lesson this year
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: is Jill and I need to do a way better
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: job of making plans. We need to do a way
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: better job of telling people what our plans are and.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Thinking about what us as a fit family once once first, Yes,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: and my mom had the most epic answer of all time.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: Oh, and goes tell us more well, Sherman. You know,
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: just keep in mind, you guys heard the shot callers.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: You're the ones with the kids, in the in the
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: full time job.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: So shout out your mom.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: I know I was like, oh, yes, because she was.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Like, that's what you needed to hear, because you need
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: to hear. You could hear some pushback, you could hear
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: something different. I know people are there's a lot of
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: family dynamics out there, and God bless them all. Everybody's
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: trying to figure it out and try to like win
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: with their situation. But shout out your mom for that answer.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I know that probably gave a lot of relief off
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: your shoulder munch waight off. She and then she followed
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: up with a great follow up. She said, all I
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: need to know is dates. That's all I need. She
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: was like, I have no dates that have been thrown
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: to me. If you just give me dates that work,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: then I will come to you.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: I promise.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: She comfortably put it back into your courty. Hey, you
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: hold the cards. We want to be around you guys,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: no matter what, you just let me know what dates.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: Mama Bear is going to be there.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: Mama Bear will be there because she's that's great. I
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: don't want to be in Jill's hair. I don't want
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: to be in your hair. What's a what's a week?
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: Respecting the other parents on the other side, the in
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: laws on the other side, like, hey, you guys, just
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: let us know we're down for whatever. That's the fluidity
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: and flexibility.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Literally a million kisses to miss Amy because I you know,
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: we have done a poor job of planning, yeah, and
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: taking your philosophy putting it together with Miss Amy's. I'm like,
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: we we have a good plan going forward into twenty
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: twenty six.
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Yeah, do you have any so for Thanksgiving?
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: For us?
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Since we've been in Nashville, one thing that we've done
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: is we'll go over to the Lawans for Thanksgiving. Last
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: year we had Scotty Charles two weeks postpartum, so we say, right,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: we're gonna We're gonna, uh, we're gonna cater in a meal,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: a Thanksgiving meal because we don't want Charle to do
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: any work.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: You guys can come over. We'd love to have you.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: You can see Scotty for the first time. But we
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: had a Thanksgiving at our house because Charles was.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Two weeks postpartum.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, the couple years before that, I want to say,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: we went to the Lawans, and it's been just a
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: different dynamic because it was when I was positioning out
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: of the NFL, when I was playing football, you know,
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: everything was based around the football schedule. So we're getting
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: into a world to where we can now create some
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: of these family traditions for Thanksgiving, for Christmas. I know
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: what I'm excited about. Like we're getting into our new house.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Our new house gets done here by the end of
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: the year, so we'll be in a new house next
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: year to where it's gonna have a lot of hosting capacity.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: My eyes, my season to me goes to like whatever's easiest.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: This year, we're going to the Lawan's parents just came
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: down for Scotty's birthday. We had all the parents, the
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: families over so that way we're going. We knocked that
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: out to where Okay, I can't expect them to travel
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: down again for Thanksgiving, so I'm assuming we're going to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: do Thanksgiving apart, and then Charles's parents are going somewhere
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: else for Thanksgiving, so just makes it easy to go
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: to the Lawans just do a family thing.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: We got the food there.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Our own tradition that we're gonna start is your boy's
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: gonna start doing bar three on Black Friday.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: We eat all the food. I'm gonna hit a Bar
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: three class.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Can you guys get you guys are more than welcome
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: to join me if you want to take your significant
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: other and sign up for the class Friday morning. I'll
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: get you guys at details, but we could sweat it
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: out on Friday morning. Friday annually going to do bar
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: three is I'm thinking in my brain this could be
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: a good Thanksgiving tradition follow up. I don't know what
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Thanksgiving is gonna look like for us traditionally. Moving forward,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: once we're in our new house, yes again, I know
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: we got the kids. Brother just got engaged in his wife.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I'm sure families would be getting creativet's so traditions for
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Thanksgiving is gonna be looking forward to the future. One
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: tradition I have it's I want to ask the audience
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: what is the best way on Thanksgiving to eat a turkey?
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: Is it baked? Is it smoked?
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Is it fried? Is it bowld?
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: Is it all the above? I love a good smoke turkey.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I know people can break their foot off in a
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: baked turkey. I grew up on big turkey, so I
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: like the new flavors of a fried turkey or smoke turkey.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: I enjoy a smoke turkey.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Let's leave it there and pick it back up. That's
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: a good spot to stop.
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: When we come back, we'll go into the turkey to.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: Okay, just know that's how I ended the energy. I
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: enjoy a smoke turkey. All right, we're gonna take a
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: quick potty break. This potty break is presented to us
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: by Ollipop. Sure did you know that there's a new
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Ollipop and SpongeBob collaboration going on?
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: Absolutely had a few. They are fantastic.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: It is known as the pineappleliest soda from Bikini Bottom,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Pineapple Paradise, the juicy pineapple with a splash of mandarin
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: pure liquid joy just like SpongeBob himself, and I think
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: we could say Sherman Young as well. There's collectible cans
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: five limited editions SpongeBob can designs hidden in each four pack.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Each packs a little treasure hunt. You never know which
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: one you're gonna get, and you can collect them all
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: on unlocked sweet rewards at drinkollipop dot com dot com
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: slash SpongeBob.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: I used to be a soda feen. Soda feen is
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: a young pup, even growing up like that of them.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: In my adulthood, I don't drink soda as much because
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: of all the sugar in it, but every now and
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: then I like the soda carbonation, the soda fizzle. When
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: I came across Ollipop. This is soda but healthy. There's
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: a prebiotic that supports the gut. Nine grams of pre
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: biotic fiber, only two to five grams of sugar per can.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Shrim It tastes like soda, but it's actually good for you.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: They have a flavor lineup that is all off the charts,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: and it pisces me up because they don't even mention
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: the two best ones.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: But here's the flavor lineup.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Vin Didgit Cola, Classic Rup, Beer, cream Soda, Orange Squeeze,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Doctor Google and Lemon Lime and more is what this says.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: Now the two best and one that has came across
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: came across my desk, and it might be number one.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: I just don't want to emotionally put it at the
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: very top.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: It is climbing rapidly because everybody knows my favorite is
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: the classic grape. We had a caller that call in
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: last week and talk about how much he was like,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: holy shit, boys, this classic grape. Let me tell you
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: the apple Crisp will knock you off your feet or
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Crisp Apple.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: That what it is.
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: I believe Crisp Apple because I had to do a quick.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Google because I don't know if you saw on Instagram
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: and this may be diving into something for an ad read.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Ollipop called me out because they were like, you you've
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: never had classic Grape.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: I was like, never had it. They're like, you gotta
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: have it on the show. You Yeah, you gotta start
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: getting in with the Ollipop. But you can get two

- 1:25:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you said, hey, listen, people break their foot off
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: in an erosted turkey. But I like a smoke turkey.
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: What do you what?
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: How do you guys do your turkey? Yeah?
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: I like a good smoke turkey.
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: Let's go, hey, I like a good do you like
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: a good smoke turkey? I smoked my first turkey last Thanksgiving.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: I think I told this story on the podcast. But
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: Jill stepdad just cutting into that thing and taking the
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: first bite and give me the look of approval, not
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: only the look of approval, but the head not.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: Oh, just the aura of that smoke turkey going in
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: your mouth, bro and seeing the smoke ring too.
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: Because I use cherry pellets, so I gave it like
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: a nice little body, nice little pink. And when you're
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: cutting it, you go oh, my bird has a little
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: pink on it, and oh it's not cooked all the way.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: That's the smoke ring. That's really shut your punk ass.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: You knew you knew the smoking birds, aren't you?
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: Yeah? Oh so, Chef Jack, this is a dude who
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: can who can sling it in the kitchen right now?
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: Where are you going with your chef?
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: I am a bacon roast, traditional by the book, the
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: way our founding fathers intended it to be. That's how
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: I am og og og og. We did a smoke
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: turkey two years ago. That was my first ever, like
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Wednesday night, go hang out with all your friends, and
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: I had one bite and threw up. So we've never
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: done that since we're roast turkey people. I'm and this
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: year is actually a special year, guys. This is the
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: first year that my father is passing on the responsibilities
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: of baking the turkey to me. And see, my airline looks.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: Terrible right now, But I'll go ahead and take that
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: out and give a clap for.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: That One's sons, that's a true Seman Team sixer right there.
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: It's a captain that's entering into PT six. He's taking
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: the right steps. His girlfriend is hearing. Oh, dad's handing
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: me the reins on turkey duty this year, Buddy pressures
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: pressures on.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna film it, so if you guys
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: want to see that, I can film it and edit
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: together and show you guys how I'm gonna do it.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: Love that, But I'm traditionalist. I'm in charge of the green.
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: You take it outside and roast it over a fire.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: No, but that would be sick. We don't have to
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: see you talking.
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: About founding fathers and all this bullshit, your feedness, like
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: you never go outside, out and back and just wow
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: in the woods.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we can do an outside of roast, but I
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: think I think the way they would do it back
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: in the day is find like a big Dutch oven
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: type thing in there and then put the coals on
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: top like a true bake. Yes, baking wasn't a thing
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: just because the oven was invented.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the inc and the Incans and Mayans
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: would do the underground ovens. If you've never seen an
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: underground oven, never have. It's really it's actually very sick, intricate,
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: intricate and really cool.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: That's what we need to see from chef. We do
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: we need a heat underground oven. We need an incan
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: underground smoke.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: Going to be in the backyard and my parents house,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: my pant Dad's gonna come home.
- 1:29:01Speaker 4: What are you doing.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: I gotta shovel out there, like I gotta make a
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: boss man's ass to make an underground oven. But you
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: can't just buy a turkey from the store. You have
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: to go hunt one. Oh even, Oh dude'd be fun.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: I have my license for turkey this year, and Delaney
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Walker has given me an invitation to come shoot one
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: on his property.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: I can get a can I get a day pass?
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: Appreciating you get us day pass is very cheap. I'll
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: come out there and we'll shoot turkey. You can use
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: your hands, your bands. Yeah, if we were about it,
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: that'd be sick. That would be six. And when I
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: say weed, chef, yeah you if he bleeds the brand,
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: she'll go out there and kill a turkey for Thanksgiving,
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: make an underground ink an oven and then roast one.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: You just spent too much time with the mediator career.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: That's what they do.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: Chef, you're co owner in fancy football. He's the lady
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: Walker and you were sitting right there when he invited
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: us to his property. The invitation was for you as well.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: I would be happy to go.
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: And the question it would be, how great do you
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: want to be?
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: I want to be the best.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: You gotta shoot Delaney a text today.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: All right, I'll get in touch with them at the
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: opportunity is right there. I've never a turkey hunt. Hey
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: you never hunted?
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: Could he call Delaney right now and ask him about it?
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: Is that? Okay?
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: Do you want to call Delaney and see?
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll see the answers.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: Because getting chef out there to shoot a turkey and
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: cook it would be epic. Yeah, that's a Semen team
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: sixer right there. That's a sick Oh yeah, oh daddy,
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: and he can't he can't. Look Dad, you're giving me
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: turkey duty.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: Just go so far?
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: You can't google incing up and you gotta seek out
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: an inking?
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Is that? What is? Though? They are.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: Seek out?
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: You gotta go down to Peru in Chile. You can't
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: take a plane. There were no planes back then. You
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: gotta go down and asking inking, how do you make
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: these underground ovens?
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: Because I got things given next week?
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: Getting for the.
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: Pressure took a turkey my dad gave me turkey? Did
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: he said.
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: Big deal? Did he answer?
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: Oh, we were trying to fill the conversation while you're calling.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: I don't think he'll answer. I'll give my shout. Do
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: you want to tell you? Well?
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: See the answers? Your call?
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: Is it ringing? That's ring, We'll fall We'll follow it
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: up with them.
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: Delaney is a busy man.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: It's probably odd that I'm calling him to because I
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: usually text him fantasy updates.
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: All the makers don't get care themselves. Any walker Lane?
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: True? Is there a Delaney walker Lane? Your call that
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: feels like an ignore?
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: We'll get, We'll get, We'll get them online. I'll see
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: we can hunt some turkeys on his Probably i'll see
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: a chef.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: Probably that'd be sick. It would be about making your
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: old man proud walking in with that bird. But no,
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: I don't him. Oh you're not a hunt fan. Don't
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: let the accent for you. The accent did's for me. Yeah, no,
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: I've That's a big joke around my friends. Is I'm
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: I have a very Southern accent, not by design, but
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: I'm not like insanely southern person. I love football, I
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: like beer. Yeah, I like a lot of things. I
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: don't know where this is fun.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: Hey, I will I will tell you all this as
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: far as as far as getting your first turkey. I
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: got mine with a rifle, not a shotgun.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: From range.
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: And you get one of them birds down, and you
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: get them nice and plucked, they're ready to go right
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: then and there.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: I like football, I like drinking beer. I like a
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: lot of things I like. I don't know where I
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: was going with that. I like the American blog.
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: I like tradition.
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: I like God.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: I don't I don't know what to do in my hand,
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: but I don't tell I felt. I ain't never killed
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: a turkey. Yeah, but I'm are you open to it?
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: Chef one?
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: Okay, good good?
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: And for the comments too. Fried turkey, smoke turkey, baked turkey.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Are you a fried guy, Derek, I'm a deep fried guy.
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: Now that I live in the South. We were we
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: were ham people up north. We weren't really turkey too much,
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: and so my dad make a ham no matter what.
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: Smoked is great, I think baked is great. I think
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: they're all great. Now that I've had a deep fried
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: turkey with the crispy skin and the ease it takes
- 1:33:42Speaker 5: to get into it, which I know is a little
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: bit of a I don't know, taking the easy way
- 1:33:46Speaker 5: out for it.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: But man, a deep fried turkey. I love that ship down,
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: love it.
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: I couldn't agree more. And to set up PT six four.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Next week's episode, just like Will said, let us know
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: how you prep your turkey. Let us know if you're
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: more of a Ham family. Maybe you're a Texan because
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: I know my family did this a lot. Maybe you're
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: a beef tenderloin on Thanksgiving. My grandparents always had a
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: beef tenderlin. My dad always did a beef tenderlin on Thanksgiving.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Leave in the comments, what's the meat that you're going with?
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: And hit us with some of those sides because we're
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: going to do a full breakdown next meeting, full breakdown
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: of what's going to be on the plane.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Yeah, we need videos of Dad's making turkeys. Now I'm
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: thinking I'm going to Taylor's, but I just might make
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: a smaller turkey and smoke it up.
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be fun. You can get the monarchs
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: on the feet safely.
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we're talking about Monday next week. We're trying to
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: save Monday of next week, like in the evening for
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: some Turkey Sinans Turans because I might throw a bird
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: on Monday morning, let it smoke the whole day, low
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: and slow.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, shirm, I just want to tell
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: you look good in that merch. I know people have
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: been at people been asking where they can get the
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: further dads, the Christmas theme merche, the holiday merch. There's
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: a new line out right now at bwtv dot com.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: It is out now, so now you can go shop
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: till you drop get ready for holiday season. Man, if
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: you're a Milk Team sixer, get your hubby. Hey, get
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: your hubby some of this nice for the dad's merch
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: or for the dad's merche.
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: You get your hubby some of this merch. That's another comment,
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: and I'm not trying to force anything on this podcast.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: I had multiple dads but a ton of Milk Team
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: sixer saying where's the Milk Team six merch?
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Where is it?
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: You keep talking about it, you keep acting like you're
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: excited about it, but where are the results. I don't
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: see anything on the website for the Milk Team sixers.
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: I think you and I may just have to put
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: our heads together and design something for that.
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: That's the problem.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Like I feel, all of those questions are justified, and
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: we operate this business, but they have to understand, just
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: like their husband, just like all the men in their lives.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: It's a bunch of dudes operating this business.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Right now, we're excited about it.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: We're talking about going to de Lady Walker's property to
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: go shoot a turkey last second, right before Thanksgiving.
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: The chances that happened.
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: We get excited about stuff.
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: That priority is over mil Team six right now? Does
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: that paint a picture for you?
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: You have these grand ideas and then the weekend comes,
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Football's on and the bud lights out.
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: Buddy, wait for off season, Yeah, Milk Team six, Just
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: wait for the off season.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: You're talking about Milk Team six. Where my wife's on
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: my ass for Lane Kiffin news.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: My wife's on my ask because I still haven't got
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: the little cage for our dogs. They got to sleep
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: in kennels.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, well, and can we get your focus for
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Milk Team six, merchant, Tell me where Lane Kiffin's going.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I'll be able to direct my attention there.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Tell me where I can get a kennel where my
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: dog's not going to freak out and have PTSD throughout
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: the night, and then we'll get the Milk Team six shirt.
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: I do have a what are the odds I forgot
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: to do last week? And then we can jump into
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: emails and calls.
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: Yeah sounds great.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Okay, this was a huge thing on the stream. This
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: happened on the stream two weeks ago and Milk Team
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: sixers speaking of here's a really fun prank that you
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: can pull on your husband. Jill did not have the
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: intention of pulling a prank on me, but she texted
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: me a year from the day that we found out
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: that she was pregnant. Was scarlet by sending me a
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: picture of a bunch of positive pregnancy tests and just
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: left it at that. It was just a bunch of
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: positive pregnancy tests for about twenty five seconds, followed by
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: a year ago today. And Buddy, those twenty five seconds, bro,
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: you were pacing.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: You were starting to swear.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: She goes, Oh my god, I'm sitting there seeing six
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: positive pregnancy tests.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: Good, here we go again. I mean, thank got, I'm
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: on a dad podcast. I guess I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: buckle up, buckle up, because this one, I'm like Scarlett
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: was not planned like, this is a.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: En before you got to the weekend, before you got
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: to the conversation on Sunday, all the stressors, the stressor
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: is going on.
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: You got pregnancy test popping up right in front of
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: your face.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: Literally just sent me this and I know right below
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: it says a year ago today that was not there
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: when that image first came through. I replied with you
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: just scared the fuck out of me.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Holy shit.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: She replied, ha ha ha oh Sherman.
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: Like, I'm sure crazy that I pretty you are silly.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: No, silly, sure. So the what are the odds is?
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: What is the chances? What are the odds that you
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: have a child born on the same day as your
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: first child? Do y'all want to go ahead and take
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: a guess at those odds?
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: Say?
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: Yeah, dear, I just I just want to are resetting
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: some parameters system. What are we giving you?
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: We're giving him an answer percentage? Say I think I
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: won last time, and there was a lot of anger
- 1:39:28Speaker 5: towards me.
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: They're winning. Okay, there's a comment that that broke down
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: the math will I will say no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: No, he's talking about one fucking comment.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: Well, had mathematical equations.
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: They did.
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: They proved mathematically that Derek was close.
- 1:39:45Speaker 4: No he wasn't. It was no, No, you weren't, No
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: you weren't.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: Is this a percentage?
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: This is a percentage.
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: Guess oh, this is gonna be another fiasco.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: I would say point zero zero.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: Two seven three in point zero zero two seven three,
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna go zero point two five. So your point
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: two five point two five, three hundred and sixty five
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: days in a year, point two five percent.
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: Go ahead, yeah, zero point.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: Basically, all right, is this assuming that uh, is this
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: assuming that the couple tried to have kids on the
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: exact same day the first one was born.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: This is the odds of your second child being born
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: on the exact same day. But well, not that you're
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: trying for it, but just what are the odds of
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: that happening?
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: Point zero two five?
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: Okay, and just tower on the same day. Just to reiterate,
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: you are saying point zero two five percent, not point
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: zero two five okay, point zero It just points zero
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: one percent. There's a point zero one percent chance you one.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: You said zero zero.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I said zero zero zero two So it was chef,
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: maybe maybe? Yeah, til your fucking comment, your burner account.
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: Comes in and says, hey, here's the map, this is
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: what's going on. But that was your what are the
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: odds brought to us by FanDuel.
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: Thank you for Thank you FanDuel. Let's get to the
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: hotline again.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: If you want to be featured on the show with
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: a voicemail, just call into six oh one the Dad's
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: and we will read your voicemails in real time. They
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: will be recorded, but we will feature you on the
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: show and you can also. By the way, my old
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: man he DMS you not too long ago, saying he
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: wanted to send in a voicemail but you never responded
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: to him. He felt like I needed to handle that.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah on Twitter or Instagram. Who knows that's
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: the Duke of Bonte. Yeah, that makes me sad. I'll
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: find that.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: Okay, I'll find that and that that's an apology not
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: only to your father but to pt Sichos. I took
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: not a true sabbatical, but I really tried to chill
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: on social media and like being on it when I'm
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: at home. I need to prioritize time reaching back out
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: to these pt siccos they're sending me some really cool
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: stuff and the d MS and I did some last
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: night and it was It's always fun, dude, getting to
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: read through those. I forget that those are there. I
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: need to dive back into that. So please tell Billy.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: I'll tell Billy that I will find that and we're
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: gonna figure it out and we're gonna get them on
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: the voicemail.
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: Okay, Derek, we should have an episode where it's just
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: all of our dads do a calling. Yeah, that'd be fun.
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: That'd be like a fun special episode where we'll dedicate
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: like half the episode to it.
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: Bother Oh that's all I was thinking too. Good Father's
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: Day episode.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: We we have one titled ah.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: Okay just ah yo, what's good? Boys? Uh? Just got
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: off my leave.
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: First day back to work. It's already been crazy. We
- 1:43:16Speaker 6: are in the trenches, like dude, I'm telling you we are.
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: We're in them three to four times.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: Last night, I just wake up and a but it's
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: a beautiful cry.
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: And you know what I said, I said, good good,
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: I'm glad that I didn't get enough sleep and I
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: had to drink a freaking cold brew this morning.
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: You know, he's already pooped on my wife's hand about
- 1:43:49Speaker 6: three times.
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: Good embrace it. You only have about, man.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: What two years of this and it's over. So I'm excited.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: I'm pumped up.
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: Got home from the hospital a few weeks ago and
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: now we're back into the swing of things. I'm actually
- 1:44:13Speaker 6: having to work right now. But love you boys. Hope
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: to hear back from y'all on the show soon.
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: Shout out, man, you're in the trenches. Look Scottie right now,
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: twelve months old.
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: She's a year old, and I'm wondering if there's a
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: twelve month sleep progression out there, because there's a couple
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: a few times over the weekend.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: We didn't get a whole lot of sleep over the
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: weekend because she's just I don't know if it's like
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: the separation anxiety. When she wakes up, she realizes mom
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: or dad, mainly Mom isn't there, like she's been clinging
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: the mom. But I'm talking just yelling, bro screaming. I'd
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: going there on Sunday night six times, and after the
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: last time I hear her screaming, and you know, I'm
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: laying in bed and I just let it go. She
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: probably screamed for like thirty minutes. They say her rhythm
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: would go down to her. She's falling asleep. A couple
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: of minutes go by, so I'm getting in that light
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: and then I just hear it again. I'm just like
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: Scottie Joe, just go to sleep, sweetheart, go to sleep.
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: She just kicks kicks back the minute, like you know,
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: I'll go in there and I'll try and pat her
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: and soothe her without picking her up.
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: So it's not like, you know, creating that that comfort
- 1:45:14Speaker 4: if she has to be in somebody's arms all the time.
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: And I would get her to go down, and two out.
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Of those six I would say I picked her up,
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: and she immediately goes to sleep when you pick her up.
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: So it's like this this what is it?
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: What's what's the word I'm looking for this like.
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: The oh, the you're just trying to break the clinging,
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: like the contact.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, the contact needing the contact to be
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: picked up out of the crib to go to sleep.
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: I'm like, we can't have that. You got to break it.
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: Like it's always been a mission.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: Just you're you're leaning on other things that where they
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: can help self suthe themselves back to sleep. And she's
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: been a stud at sleeping dude.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: Yeah, So for.
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: Whatever reason, I'm like wanting to look up as there
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: like a twelve month or a year sleep aggression because
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: I'm just like, Bro, she's had us in hell for
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: a couple of nights.
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: Last night she did phenomenal, thank god.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: But it's like an hour into her sleeping, and then
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: after the hour, in like every thirty minutes, she'll just
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: get up, like.
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: Screaming or upset about something. To that sweetheart, just go
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: to bed.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: You know how to do this.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Bro, there's your lama right there, there's all your Stuffi's yep,
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: I doug up to him back.
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: No, four months is a big sleep progression stage that
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Scarlett has somewhat hit. But it's really just kind of
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: turned into her like waking up super early.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: Yeah, like she's still sleeping, but she's like waking up
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: super early. And this dad, he remained anonymous. But what
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: he'll learn is the next stage, which I kind of loved,
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: is when they are crying in the middle of the
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: night and you go in, like Will is talking about
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: for any new dads, they'll say, instead of picking them up,
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: because then you'll have to pick them up every time. Right,
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: you set the standard of just going in there, placing
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: her hand on their stomach or on their chest and
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: just kind of lightly rocking them back and forth. And
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: you could do a nice little like sh sh or
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: you could sing to them, whatever you want to do
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: to put them back. But that moment that you know
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: you're in some deep shit is when you step over
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: their crib to put the hand on the chest and pass.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: He's out and they're just smiling, bro, and they're smiling.
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: You're like, oh, I'll cook.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: Scotta be trying to roll over to like grunt and
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: sit up. I'm like, no, no, no, no, you gotta
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: go back down. It's like this is not play time. Yeah,
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: because you're right, you're trying to do your best to
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: train them to kind of self soue like you let
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: them know that you're there, you're there.
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: You're not making eye contact with you.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: I'm like kind of looking away and I'm on her
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: knee because Scotty likes to sleep on her stomach, so
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: she'll be like she'll be like her little butts tooted
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: it up and stuff, and I'm like patting on the button.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: I'm just like looking away, like try and seek the
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: looking and she's looking at me with a smile or whatever.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: I'm just like going to look away. You're trying to
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: help get it to where they're not just depending on
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: all you're eating. Contact from you because you pick her
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: up and put her in your arm, and she'll.
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: Just be like and their little brains, you know, their
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: little brains when they've been crying and then they see
- 1:47:53Speaker 4: their favorite person, they're like, yes, it.
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: Works, Yeah, crying work.
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: What Scotti will start like what I'm thinking of how
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: she's mint ulating in the system. She'll take the stuff
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: he's and like throw them out of the crib and
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: then be like yelling standing up in the crib, and
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: I'll be like, hey, there's a camera up there.
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: I see you. Bro, you're trying to do this to
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: just come up here. You leave these out. I will
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: not come back.
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: You did that?
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there ain't nothing else that did that.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: You did that, Scott, lay him down. She starts trying
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: to set up pick her up. No, it's it's bedtime.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: I can just picture her doing a will comp to
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: grind as she's trying.
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: To get Yeah.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: Well, it gets to a point too where you go
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: so much and you'll just be fuming that you can't
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: get any sleep, and I'll just be you know, they're
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: like in your arm like this, and they're trying to
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: like hyper extend their body and wrestling them, squeezing.
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: I'm like, no, no, no, you're not getting out of
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: this pretzel.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: They're shaking them, patting them extra hard. You are my son,
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: like water boarding with the past, like shoving in their mouth.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: She'll always get so pishy, and she doesn't want she
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: doesn't want it. She's gonna take you.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: She wants it, trust me. But yes, good luck to you, sir.
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: And she's never stopped.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: They never stop. Code Brown is our next calling.
- 1:49:19Speaker 7: Hey boys, my name is Troy. I'm from Wisconsin. I
- 1:49:22Speaker 7: am the dad of a two and a half year
- 1:49:24Speaker 7: old daughter and a five month old son. Calling just
- 1:49:28Speaker 7: before seven am Central Time, just before the kids wake up.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: I got a couple of minutes of peace and quiet.
- 1:49:34Speaker 7: I just wanted to share a funny story that just
- 1:49:36Speaker 7: happened this past week. So, my two and a half
- 1:49:39Speaker 7: year old daughter is in the midst of starting potty
- 1:49:44Speaker 7: training and has been dealing with some constipation issues, which
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: apparently is normal for the potty training age. And we've
- 1:49:56Speaker 7: been trying all sorts of different things, trying a lot
- 1:49:59Speaker 7: of ho fiber foods, prune juice, reached out to her pediatrician,
- 1:50:05Speaker 7: all this fun stuff. It had been about five days
- 1:50:08Speaker 7: since she had pooped last and it was, you know,
- 1:50:14Speaker 7: Dada's turn to give the bath, and I took her
- 1:50:19Speaker 7: up there. She had had prune juice earlier in the day,
- 1:50:22Speaker 7: and I think you can see where this is going.
- 1:50:24Speaker 7: But something between what we've been trying in the previous
- 1:50:28Speaker 7: days and that warm water relaxing the bowels let it
- 1:50:33Speaker 7: all out right there in the bathtub. And unfortunately, it
- 1:50:36Speaker 7: happened to be Data's turn to give the bath, so
- 1:50:39Speaker 7: I had a code brown up there, and that was
- 1:50:42Speaker 7: a wild experience. On one hand, it was good that
- 1:50:47Speaker 7: she finally pooped. On the other hand, it was bad
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: for Data dealing with the cleanups. So a little bittersweet moment,
- 1:50:55Speaker 7: just like many things as being a dad. It's the
- 1:50:59Speaker 7: greatest in the world, but it's also literally shitty sometimes.
- 1:51:03Speaker 7: So thought you boys would like that story. Loved the show,
- 1:51:06Speaker 7: just picked up my first piece of for the Dad's Merch.
- 1:51:09Speaker 7: Excited for it to arrive. Keep doing what You're doing.
- 1:51:12Speaker 7: My favorite podcast out there for sure, So thanks again
- 1:51:16Speaker 7: and uh talk to you again soon, Troy.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: Nothing like shitting in the tub, Nothing like it, And
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: talk about a frenzy that happens mentally. If you're the
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: dad on, if you're the one on the wall for
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: bad time, it is scarce. But like for me, nothing
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: more terrifying, nothing more of a nightmare than just shit everywhere.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: Nobody the tub dripping, stand on the tow stay ready, okay,
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: gold Well that's what happens when you shit in the tub.
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: Put this down on, stay warm, drain it, refill it.
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: Oh, he didn't have a super thick Wisconsin accident, but
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: I loved how it came out whenever he said dada,
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: oh yeah, you know Dada's tern. That's a man that
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: eat some cheese. Man that is a man they eat
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: some cheese. And hey, good on you, Troy. Way to
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: stay in the trenches. Way to fight it. Bath Time
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: is such a sacred part of our uh like night
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: night time for Scarlet, and she loves it. And if
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: anything goes awride that makes her have to come out
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: of the tub, like if I'm about to put her in,
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: and the little ducky thermometer I look at it last second.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: I go, oh, one oh nine, that's too hot, you know, Scarlet,
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: let me adjust the temperature. Why I already held her
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: over the water. She thought she was about to go in.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: She goes ballistic.
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: You trying to get some action, so splash action.
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: Put me in the damn tub. I don't care if
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: it's one hundred and twelve. Yeah, do your your ma?
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: Do they like bad time?
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: They love bath time?
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Yeh, Scotty loves bad time.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: We'll get him in the bat together where Scotty's on
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: her little little seated thing and they splash each other
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: back and forth. Oh dud loves and russe. Always trying
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: to text a check check the temperature.
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: Too hot. It's not too hot. Okay, it's a little spice,
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: but it'll you'll warm up to it.
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: She said that her years.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: I said to her, I'm just standing there, like just
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: staying with your feet in first and warm up.
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: See it's not that bad. I'll start splashing or she'll
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: spaz out.
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: G't it out now.
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: I want to I want to see you in the
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: trenches more. I'm sure you want to see me in
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: the trenches.
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I was laughing this morning, carrying out those boiled
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: peanuts and holding Scarlet's backpack and her little milk bottles.
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: I went to open the front door and the boiled
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: peanut juice just all over my jeans.
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: And the first thing that shot in my head was
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: I wish Will was here to see that, like oh
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: buddy in the trenches going, yeah it.
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: Sucks at times, it does makes it great. Thank you
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: for calling, Thank you for calling in Troy. You do
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: have go ahead.
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Just another reminder, I feel like we haven't said this
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: on the show in a while, but for any new listeners,
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: when you call in and we select you for the show,
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: we send you free merch.
- 1:53:56Speaker 7: Mm.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: Yeah, we have forgotten to say that. You get he
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: just bought his first piece. He's gonna be getting some
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: more merch now.
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna be getting some more stuff. So when
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: we reach out to Troy, we'll make sure we'll you know, hey,
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: what'd you buy? Because we want to give you some day. Yeah,
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: don't already have.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: And again, if you want to be featured on the show,
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: let your voicemail be heard six o one the Dad's
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: we'll get into these emails if you're on again. If
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: you're on international soil beyond the Pond. Yeah, you can
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: write in or email us at six o' one the
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: dads at gmail dot com. I have one here from
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: Megan Paxton. Come on, Megan, Megan Paxton Milk Team, Milk
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Team six here. Ever since we had our little girl
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: in February, my husband has been locked in on.
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: For the dads.
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: He's such a huge fan.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: He even wore the PT six shirt to the top
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: of a ten and a half mile hike in Montana
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: for a honeymoon, just so we could take a picture
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: and tag you.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: Photo attached below.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: This is our beloved PT sixer right here on top
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: of the mountain after a ten and a half mile hike.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: He's always talking about which PT six piece of clothing
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: accessories he should get next. He's been trying to get
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: me to listen to an episode, which happened to be
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: the one where you share of Jill's Sweet Treat and
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Sherman's misunderstanding Oli Pop and Jobanni Sweet Creamer. Let's just
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: say obsessed is an understatement. No, I have had one
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: of these drinks every day for the past ten days.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: I tried five flavors so far and I'm definitely planning
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: to try more. Classic Grape is in the top three,
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: So shout out Jill because this drink is seriously phenomenal
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: and something I look forward to every day now. And
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: if you could do a shout out to my husband,
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: whose name also happens to be Will, shout out the
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: boy will he beat six that would mean the world
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: do him. He's a rock and we couldn't do it
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: without him. He just started a new job and is
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: working so hard to provide for our little family, and
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: we are so grateful for a dad like him. In
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: the examples like the U two to follow after you
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: guys do an amazing job. So excited for the next episode.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: Coming straight from the Good Life, Go Big Red.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: Go big Grads, Go Big Red. That got shout out Will.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: That got the eyes water in a little bit. I
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: love hearing Milk Team sixers being proud of their hobbies.
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: Yeah that's pretty sick. You sound like a stud, Will Yeah.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Will East, I mean, come on, keep
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: crossing it top of a ten and a half mile
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: hike Mountain Montana.
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: Honey, honey, get a pick of this?
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: Yeah now he Willy won and climbing up here.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: Now he hasn't wanted pictures our entire relationship, and now
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: all of a sudden he wants pictures.
- 1:56:16Speaker 4: And again it's I talked about it on social media.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: They're now a proud sponsor for the dads are trying
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: to get the ollipop A team six Drink made Ollipop
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: continues to show up.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: They continue to show.
- 1:56:29Speaker 4: Classic grape to her top three. You got one right, now,
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: got one right? Bracket open. This is your first taste
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: of a classic grape. Yeah, this is my very first
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: official sip. You should feel a lot of pressure of
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: the classic grete ollipop.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: Here we go. Yeah, you have a classic grape too.
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: Change my volunteers got.
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: Hey jeers, jeez?
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: Come on, yeah dude, that's strong. Hey, come on, that's strong.
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: That reminds me of like childhood, like grape juice flavors,
- 1:57:14Speaker 4: but like with the pop.
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: And fizz of a soda. Like that's very strong.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: Come on, I'm telling you nine grams pre prebotic fiber,
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: two to five grams of sugar. You like a little
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: you know, if you're on a little I'm not drinking soda,
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: but you like to switch it up from water or
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: something bland Olli pop is.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: The move and we have to get Chris Bapple in here. Yeah,
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: that's that's crazy because that one is changing my life
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: from the inside out.
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: That and that's not anything to be said like how
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: good SpongeBob is. Oh we love SpongeBob, love SpongeBob. I'm
- 1:57:49Speaker 3: not a shot at all. It's SpongeBob. But whoa that
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: was Yeah, yeah.
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: That's what we got a call in. Now, you see
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: what we got a call in last week. We got
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: an email this week.
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: I want to hit up at him. I saw they
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: hit us up on Instagram. I want to hit him
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: up and say, hey, I know what you're talking about now.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: Lollipop sent him a care package. No, yeah, they had
- 1:58:08Speaker 3: reached out on X and they said, check your DMS.
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: We want to get you some, which started a ex
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: conversation about people overseas saying that they've received Lollipop, to
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: which Olipop said, how the F did you do that?
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: It was a very funny little X thread, So shout
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: out to Adam.
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: He got Allipop needs to be arm in arm with
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: for the dads. That's that's all I'm saying.
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: That's all we're saying.
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: That's all we're saying, have you, guys tried the classic
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: grape yet?
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: Which have you?
- 1:58:30Speaker 4: Which ones have you tried?
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: Vintage Coola root beer, the strawberry vanilla, cream soda, grape.
- 1:58:38Speaker 5: I hadn't tried it until your obsession with it. Unbelievable.
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: I'm not a grape guy with you. YEA, so good.
- 1:58:44Speaker 5: My favorite still ten toes down cream soda and the
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: strawberry vanilla was delicious.
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: Chef, what are your favorites?
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: What are your favorites?
- 1:58:51Speaker 5: Es?
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: Chef? Oh that's so nice, you guys, asked fellas, I
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: have a confession to make. Don't do this. I have
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: not tried allypop yet. Okay, I would explain, but that's
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: a I don't believe in, you know, making excuses. I
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: just haven't been good enough. We got it.
- 1:59:17Speaker 3: We gotta change eye right now. That's got a change
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:59:21Speaker 4: Well, may I ask why?
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: This is?
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: Just because look for the dads where we're small. This
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: is you know, we talk about small businesses. This is
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: a small podcast for the dads. We got a couple
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: brands taking shots with us, brands that we love, Wayfair, Ollipop.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: There's been a couple we said no to because It's
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: like we want stuff that we enjoy. We want this
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: community to trust everything that we're kind of saying we're
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: collaborating on, we're engaging with fans with Yeah, and Olli
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: Pop is one that has came to the forefront and
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: sponsored this show that we are beyond excited about that.
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: We are belated about belated sponsoring means giving us, giving
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: us money. They're now like, we would be you know,
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: shout out, no free shout outs, this is what we
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: do for Lollipop. Now They're like, no, we want to
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: we want to support this brand. We want to be
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: arm and arm with this brand. This brand gets us
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: going because they love our product. And we got a
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: group of four for a group of four for for
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: for the Dads that in my mind I go home
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: and I my wife's like, how is worked today? And
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: I'm like the forore the dand the for the Dads.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: Guys bleed the brandy and are truly on board with
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: the vision. They represent everything more about. You're the captain
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: of st six of Semen Team six, and you want
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: to tell me that you haven't tried a brand that
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: is in the fox hole with us?
- 2:00:44Speaker 4: Do you got their six?
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: You don't well, is that no? No, no, he is.
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: He's right?
- 2:00:53Speaker 4: Am I not spitting facts?
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: Right? He's right.
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: I think you're making really good points. I think you're
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: making really good points. Here's where I would jump in.
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: Okay, I can't wait to hear your leadership right now.
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: Has he fallen short so far?
- 2:01:07Speaker 4: Yes?
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: But he is willing to redeem himself and he is
- 2:01:12Speaker 3: willing to do it right here on camera to show
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: us and to show Ollipop that he may be belated
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: to joining us in the foxhole, but he is elated
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: to join us in the fox.
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: That's the word I'll search you for earlier when I
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: said belated, No, truly, Hey, I might not have a brain,
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: but I have an idea.
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: I knew where you were going. I knew where you're
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: in his brain. That is belated, dude. I lost him
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: and I was like, belated, they are?
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: I do what you man?
- 2:01:49Speaker 4: I'm so passionate When.
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: It was one of those things, it's not intentional at all.
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: I just hadn't gone aroun I've been on a no
- 2:02:02Speaker 2: soda thing, which, uh, the wonderful leader of this podcast
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: is let me know that this is actually not a
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: soda but anything carbonated I've tried to stick away from uh,
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: so that was kind of the intention behind it. But
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: let me just say, guys, I'm all in now, and
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: just to prove it, I'm gonna try We'll try the
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: classic grape and I'm also gonna try the vintage cola.
- 2:02:26Speaker 2: Come on and give you guys some thoughts.
- 2:02:29Speaker 3: Oh, he's gonna love it.
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: Holy shit, that's good. That's actually really good. Yeah, that's
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: really good. That's very solid. I I just want to graphic.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: I just want to quote Graphic. Yeah, chef on Ali
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: and the people that know me know that whenever I
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: think something's really good, you'll get like three or four
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: words out of me, and then I'll go right back
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: to whatever I'm eating or drinking. Yeah, you're right back
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: to sipping that vintage cola Nuza. Oh buddy, that is incredible.
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: And will what were we saying?
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: This is in it nine grams prebiotic fiber, two to
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: five grams of sugar.
- 2:03:20Speaker 3: So it's you got botanic goals.
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: You're a guy that's wanting to stay away from soda
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: because of all the sugar that it has.
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: Like I I completely understand that drinking. If I'm wanting
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: to get away from something. Yes, you like people, you
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: love a good change. Like my wife, she's water all
- 2:03:35Speaker 2: day long, and she'll ask me how much water if
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: you drink? I have pure water, and I'll like, sweetheart,
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: you know it's like, I'll drink some water, but I
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: need something different.
- 2:03:43Speaker 4: I just need something different when I'm drinking, when I'm
- 2:03:45Speaker 4: having a drink.
- 2:03:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and where allipop goes above and beyond is you
- 2:03:50Speaker 3: could just have flavored water that's like sparkling water.
- 2:03:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:03:54Speaker 3: I've seen those like imitation sodas. Yes, they do that
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: part very well, but they also have a ton of
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: healthy stuff. A bunch of biomes are really great for
- 2:04:03Speaker 3: the gut as well.
- 2:04:05Speaker 4: What's crazy as we are giving ollipops such a shot out?
- 2:04:08Speaker 4: I hope they're too a crazy shout out, but it's
- 2:04:11Speaker 4: coming from the heart, like we genuinely are.
- 2:04:13Speaker 2: Like, Yeah, i'll go rate, We'll start vintage cola. I'll
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: get that an eight point two, okay, okay, which, by
- 2:04:22Speaker 2: the way, my scale is there's no such thing as
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: a ten. I'm a very serious person. I would give
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: this like an eight nine. Very good refreshing, doesn't feel heavy.
- 2:04:32Speaker 2: That's a big thing on soda for those you're like,
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: I can only have a couple of SIPs.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: This is for those listening and not watching. That was
- 2:04:40Speaker 3: an eight point two for Vintage Cola and an eight
- 2:04:43Speaker 3: point nine for Classic Grape.
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: And you have the grape flavor and the difference here
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: because it's like a soda substitute or whatever.
- 2:04:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, whatever concepts in your brain. But the sizzle,
- 2:04:53Speaker 4: it's a light sizzle, light sizzle. It's not one that's
- 2:04:56Speaker 4: like attacking your mouth as it goes in there. Sure
- 2:05:00Speaker 4: to God, wait till you get your lips on the
- 2:05:01Speaker 4: Chris Bapple.
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: I'm hummed, buddy, I'm not shitting yet.
- 2:05:07Speaker 3: He's thought, Hey, Will's not trying to be funny. That's serious.
- 2:05:12Speaker 3: I got an email here from an MPT sixer. I
- 2:05:15Speaker 3: got Lexi Morris. She says, Fellas, I'm a proud Milk
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: Team six member and weekly listener. My husband got me
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: hooked months ago. He's a PT six sickoh and fellow
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: girl dad to Emerson, our eight month old baby girl.
- 2:05:31Speaker 3: Wanted to write in and let you know that the
- 2:05:33Speaker 3: wives love to gush on their husbands. We see the husband,
- 2:05:37Speaker 3: teammate and father. You're trying to be. We appreciate that
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: you want to be an intentional husband and father and
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: actively display your effort to us. While as women we
- 2:05:49Speaker 3: may carry a lot of the worry slash load for
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: our children, we couldn't do it without you. My husband,
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: Michael is truly the most amazing husband and father. Had
- 2:06:00Speaker 3: an easy go as first time parents, and my experience
- 2:06:03Speaker 3: postpartum h and my experience postpartum and as a first
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: time mom has still been amazing because of him and
- 2:06:13Speaker 3: how well he has loved me and truly met me
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: where I am. He's one month post a life saving
- 2:06:20Speaker 3: stem cell transplant, so just have to give him the
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: shout out he deserves. Michael, I know you're listening, so
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: just want you. I'm so sorry.
- 2:06:30Speaker 4: It's okay. I feel in my nose too.
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: Brother.
- 2:06:32Speaker 4: In a while, we can get some tears going.
- 2:06:34Speaker 3: I know you're listening. I just want you to know
- 2:06:36Speaker 3: that your girls love you endlessly and you're our superhero.
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: What an incredible man to fight for your life so
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: you can spend the rest of it with your girls.
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: Take care, fellas, and keep putting in the effort like
- 2:06:58Speaker 3: you do. As a why of an intentional partner, I
- 2:07:01Speaker 3: can tell that we appreciate you. I can tell you
- 2:07:05Speaker 3: that we appreciate you. Dang provided pictures, of course, let
- 2:07:11Speaker 3: me cover my wet eyes with the pictures of Michael
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: with his daughter Emerson and his wife.
- 2:07:20Speaker 2: What a legend, dude, legend, what a legend.
- 2:07:23Speaker 4: Thank you for writing in that is What are you doing?
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: Why'd you have to do that?
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: You got?
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: The women have infiltrated our brand and now they just
- 2:07:34Speaker 1: give us stories that we just tear up about.
- 2:07:36Speaker 3: Now, Golly and Michael, you are very lucky. It sounds
- 2:07:40Speaker 3: like you have a fantastic wife. I have another one.
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: I think if I read it will kind of take
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: me out of this Okay, hopefully, uh says boys.
- 2:07:54Speaker 3: Just got the news that my wife is pregnant. I've
- 2:07:56Speaker 3: been listening to Busting since the first episode in twenty nineteen,
- 2:08:00Speaker 3: listen to a couple episodes for the Dads, but hadn't
- 2:08:03Speaker 3: deep dived just yet. With the news coming out for
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: the Dads will be my number one podcast. I'm over
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: the moon, excited to bring a little one into this world.
- 2:08:12Speaker 3: And I was born for the trenches. My question for y'all,
- 2:08:17Speaker 3: my wife is only two to three weeks a long.
- 2:08:20Speaker 3: We found out November fourteenth, and now she wants to
- 2:08:23Speaker 3: do a big shi bang to surprise everyone on Thanksgiving.
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: This is a brilliant idea. By the way, I love this.
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: With the close relationship I have with my father, how
- 2:08:33Speaker 3: do I not tell them I'm not great at keeping
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: secrets and we talk every day.
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: What do I do and how do I act?
- 2:08:40Speaker 3: I know if I ruin the surprise, my wife will
- 2:08:42Speaker 3: be absolutely livid. She will, she will. We'd hate to
- 2:08:46Speaker 3: start fatherhood in the doghouse. Please help. Can't wait to
- 2:08:50Speaker 3: be a part of the pet Sikos also cream soda
- 2:08:53Speaker 3: allibop is better than great.
- 2:08:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I said it. It always comes back to lollipop.
- 2:09:01Speaker 4: Did you say they're how far along?
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: Three weeks?
- 2:09:04Speaker 4: Three weeks?
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: And they just found out four days ago and they
- 2:09:08Speaker 3: and he's saying, I got zip the lip until the
- 2:09:10Speaker 3: twenty six with twenty seven.
- 2:09:12Speaker 2: We didn't say his name, did we? Oh? We did.
- 2:09:16Speaker 3: Well, we'll knock that part out.
- 2:09:18Speaker 4: Gotta knock you got that.
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: That's a good note from a chef. Well, knock his
- 2:09:23Speaker 3: name out.
- 2:09:24Speaker 4: You better be a bear trap.
- 2:09:26Speaker 1: Yeah, or you just got to remind yourself this is
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: beyond you, beyond you and your insecurities of keeping a secret, like.
- 2:09:31Speaker 4: You better be a bear trap.
- 2:09:33Speaker 1: This is again you want to feel like you know,
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: you love to film the moment, the reaction and capture
- 2:09:37Speaker 1: it because your dad's gonna be elated.
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: He's gonna lose it.
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: He's gonna look like old fat Stafford reading Lexi's email.
- 2:09:47Speaker 3: He's gonna be balling, yeah, or he's gonna be trying
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: to hide the tears. He's gonna be so excited if
- 2:09:52Speaker 3: you are as close as he's saying. Especially it's like
- 2:09:57Speaker 3: loose lips sink ships.
- 2:09:59Speaker 4: Yes what they say.
- 2:10:00Speaker 3: And I would say that this is a great time
- 2:10:03Speaker 3: where you're just gonna you're gonna have to eat the secret, dude,
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: and he'll know something's going on.
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: Maybe Yeah, he's got to pour your sight on into
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: just being excited that everybody's coming to town and seeing them,
- 2:10:13Speaker 1: and don't do it so much where he's like it's
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: something up and then you're kind of putting a weird spot.
- 2:10:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, just make it. And if you
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: have to make up a little lie to keep a
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: secret for a really fun thing, you know, dude, I'm
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: all in favor of lying to protect a surprise birthday
- 2:10:30Speaker 3: party or lying to protect a gender reveal, or we're pregnant.
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm like a Santa Claus lie.
- 2:10:39Speaker 4: It's a little a little white lie, a little white light. Anonymous.
- 2:10:42Speaker 4: I have an anonymous right in here. Pop A team six?
- 2:10:45Speaker 1: Uh, what's up to the starting lineup for the Bus
- 2:10:48Speaker 1: and Dads number nine, qb Fatthew Stafford Young Junior number
- 2:10:53Speaker 1: fifty one, Mike linebacker, William Earl one shelf Compton the
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: third and team.
- 2:10:58Speaker 4: Water Boys chef Jack a Lot and Derek drink water?
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: Is this?
- 2:11:06Speaker 4: That was my favorite one?
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: Rading dat. I was like, we're water boys, baby, let's
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: go Jack a Lot. That's pretty great.
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: I just got married on October twenty fifth. See a
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: picture below for the boys. My husband and I want
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: to have Oh this is a female just ripping shots. No, yes,
- 2:11:32Speaker 1: she knows how to hang?
- 2:11:34Speaker 2: Boy?
- 2:11:34Speaker 4: Does she knows how to hang She knows how to
- 2:11:35Speaker 4: drink a beer in a ollipop?
- 2:11:37Speaker 2: Come on?
- 2:11:38Speaker 1: My husband and I want to have kids, but we
- 2:11:40Speaker 1: don't know when we want to start or what conversation.
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: What that conversation is like? Any advice for an aspiring
- 2:11:44Speaker 1: member of Milk Team slash Milf Team six, Who bought?
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: Who brought up the conversation first, How did it go,
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: what questions did you have, et cetera. Any guidance will
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: be helpful and appreciated. I'm a Day one listener for
- 2:11:57Speaker 1: the Dads and a Tier one of busting as well.
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: Thanks so much much for reading and gb oh just
- 2:12:03Speaker 1: taking a shot at old fellow vall chef.
- 2:12:05Speaker 4: Jack a lot.
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: It's forgiven us Tennessee fans with at the banter. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: we did have a little fun, man, That's how we
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: do it involved. Could you like to go for a round?
- 2:12:19Speaker 4: That's a great question, by the way, it is a
- 2:12:21Speaker 4: great question. How did it come up with y'all?
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: I think we both kind of knew we wanted to
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: get started, Yeah, as soon as possible. I know that's
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: not the same for everybody. Everybody has different conversations at
- 2:12:32Speaker 1: the end of the day. I don't think you're not
- 2:12:34Speaker 1: going to figure out the perfect setup or the perfect.
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: Time, you know what I mean.
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, if you think back to everything that worked
- 2:12:42Speaker 1: out for you that wasn't a perfect moment, Yeah, that
- 2:12:48Speaker 1: ended up resulting in favor to where you look back
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: on those moments and you think, ah, I'm glad SO
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: and so forced me to do this. I'm glad this
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: person said no to me. I'm glad this you know,
- 2:12:59Speaker 1: the these people gave.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: Me a shot.
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: I'm glad I ended up doing this at not the
- 2:13:04Speaker 1: perfect moment or the perfect time, and it comes to
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: work out. You think of all those moments, it's no
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: different with parenthood. I mean, you're gonna you're not gonna
- 2:13:12Speaker 1: be able to time up everything that some people get
- 2:13:14Speaker 1: lucky and they're able to.
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but dude, I'm telling you right now, the perfect
- 2:13:20Speaker 1: moment is going to be the moment when they come.
- 2:13:22Speaker 1: It's not gonna be what you planned on, what you
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: thought about. It's just getting into buds, training, breeding until
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: Dad's we gotta.
- 2:13:29Speaker 3: Get into buds. That's step one, and I think pre
- 2:13:33Speaker 3: step if I can add anything of healthily pressuring your partner,
- 2:13:39Speaker 3: I think Jill absolutely murdered it by just sending me
- 2:13:43Speaker 3: pictures of you and Chara with Ru looking so happy
- 2:13:47Speaker 3: and just the cutest photos of Rude that she could
- 2:13:50Speaker 3: possibly find screenshot and that sending it to me she's adorable.
- 2:13:55Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 2:13:56Speaker 1: That's a good point, because you were a guy that
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: didn't know if you were necessarily ready, Yeah, and thinking
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: of the conversation advice she's looking for, like, yeah, as
- 2:14:03Speaker 1: the female wanting to get your your guy on board.
- 2:14:07Speaker 3: Send cute baby pigs, dude of like happy couples that
- 2:14:10Speaker 3: you know he's a fan of, or maybe it's y'all's friends.
- 2:14:13Speaker 3: And look how precious this little baby looks. Oh my gosh,
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: do you think ours will have blue eyes? Do you
- 2:14:20Speaker 3: think ours would have blonde hair?
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 2:14:23Speaker 4: You know?
- 2:14:23Speaker 3: Asking those little questions because then me very happily in
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: Semen Team six at the time, I'm reading these texts
- 2:14:32Speaker 3: and I'm looking at Rue and I'm thinking to myself,
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: wouldn't mind having one of those?
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: That is horrible?
- 2:14:39Speaker 4: Gotta stop posting photos? Are you had me in help?
- 2:14:44Speaker 3: It was the you weighing in bed next to her
- 2:14:47Speaker 3: like selfie video and at the end she giggles and
- 2:14:51Speaker 3: kisses you on the cheek and says love you, dad, Dad.
- 2:14:55Speaker 3: Jill sends me that. I'm like, Okay, this is at
- 2:14:59Speaker 3: this point I think think Will and Jill are in cahoots.
- 2:15:02Speaker 3: I think they're working together.
- 2:15:05Speaker 4: I think that's great advice.
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: But yes, that's a really.
- 2:15:08Speaker 3: Good way to help pressure your husband that maybe is
- 2:15:12Speaker 3: thinking too much about his college team at the time.
- 2:15:15Speaker 3: Maybe he's thinking too much about the golf trip coming up.
- 2:15:18Speaker 4: Yeah, or maybe the career or maybe the career.
- 2:15:21Speaker 3: And just sneak in those little Uh what is that called?
- 2:15:24Speaker 3: Like the fascist governments loved using it. It's uh propaganda. Oh,
- 2:15:30Speaker 3: some good propaganda, some PT six propaganda.
- 2:15:35Speaker 4: Yeah, there is there is.
- 2:15:40Speaker 2: Hey, guys, how are you sir?
- 2:15:47Speaker 3: He is fighting, he is fighting torn ligaments. Goal, he
- 2:15:51Speaker 3: is fighting goal and uh, he's fighting the good fight
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: of also being a PT sixer. Yeah, on top of everything,
- 2:16:00Speaker 3: he's the big guy man.
- 2:16:03Speaker 4: He said he was on all fours crawl into his bathroom.
- 2:16:05Speaker 3: Mark, Wait, are you serious?
- 2:16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and then the dog had to go out, so
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: he had to crawl to the back door let the
- 2:16:11Speaker 2: dog out. He says.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: He's banging on the glass, begging the dog to come
- 2:16:14Speaker 1: back in so you can crawl back in bed.
- 2:16:16Speaker 3: No, you're kidding.
- 2:16:17Speaker 2: I'm not joking. I'm not I'm not joking.
- 2:16:20Speaker 1: Like, well, I would guess that in his mind, he
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: probably wish a sniper would have been at the top
- 2:16:25Speaker 1: of a hill and just took him out, because that's
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: how much pain. It seems like he's in he's fighting
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: right now, he's fighting him down like this.
- 2:16:34Speaker 3: I was about to tell him to come on the
- 2:16:36Speaker 3: producer cam or on my cam.
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:16:39Speaker 3: Now I'm like, you guys had gout.
- 2:16:41Speaker 4: No, these guys had gout right.
- 2:16:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had it. Two flare ups.
- 2:16:45Speaker 5: That ship makes you wish your foot just fell up,
- 2:16:48Speaker 5: Like it makes you wish a car ran over your
- 2:16:50Speaker 5: foot and they had to get rid of it.
- 2:16:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it swells up.
- 2:16:53Speaker 5: It's gnarly, it's nasty and like it's just enough pain
- 2:16:56Speaker 5: for you to be like, I have to do something
- 2:16:57Speaker 5: about this, but it's the doctors are just like, it's
- 2:17:00Speaker 5: just go out, take this pill and hopefully the breakdown.
- 2:17:03Speaker 1: It's oh god, yeah, all I can compare it to
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: I had a Liz Frank injury, so I was out
- 2:17:10Speaker 1: for I was like a felt like six eight months
- 2:17:13Speaker 1: in the art thea what's it called arthritis?
- 2:17:16Speaker 2: Yeah? After hell on for a while.
- 2:17:18Speaker 1: But yeah, dude, when your foot is I mean, any
- 2:17:21Speaker 1: injury sucks, but when your foot can't work.
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: Damn dude.
- 2:17:26Speaker 3: Hey leave some comments, yeahs and guys to Taylor, leave
- 2:17:33Speaker 3: some comments and uh, let's hope for the best with
- 2:17:35Speaker 3: the torn ligaments in the goup.
- 2:17:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah.
- 2:17:39Speaker 4: Did you have a.
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: Lesson of the week for us?
- 2:17:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:17:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I got a lesson.
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: So Scotty turned one last week and I was I
- 2:17:48Speaker 1: took some time to sit down and think about and
- 2:17:52Speaker 1: reminisce on how Scotty has changed our lives, because when
- 2:17:57Speaker 1: you have two, I know, leading up to Scotty being born,
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: Charli being pregnant and thinking of the bond we have
- 2:18:02Speaker 1: with Rue, there's a part of you that's like number one.
- 2:18:04Speaker 1: You learn how much your heart expands to love your
- 2:18:08Speaker 1: firstborn or your kid when they come, and then the
- 2:18:11Speaker 1: next when the next one comes, you're like thinking, am
- 2:18:13Speaker 1: I going to even come close to loving this one
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: the same way that I love Rue?
- 2:18:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:18:19Speaker 1: But I wrote a little something down and essentially it
- 2:18:23Speaker 1: is you don't realize how fast the early years move
- 2:18:27Speaker 1: until your second kid turns one. With your first, you're
- 2:18:30Speaker 1: just trying to survive it, the pressure that comes with
- 2:18:32Speaker 1: every cry, every phase, every sleepless night that feels like
- 2:18:35Speaker 1: it's taken forever. But with your second, you know how
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: quickly and you realize how much at all, how fast
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: it disappears. My three year old is suddenly this little
- 2:18:44Speaker 1: human with jokes and opinions and asking me all these
- 2:18:46Speaker 1: questions at bedtime from the Grim's fairy tales. And my
- 2:18:49Speaker 1: one year old is still clinging on to us like
- 2:18:51Speaker 1: we're we are her entire world, more mom so than
- 2:18:54Speaker 1: dad right now. But she is still very much like
- 2:18:56Speaker 1: connected to us at the hip, with the smiles and
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: the laughter and wanting to be held and all of
- 2:19:00Speaker 1: these things. And somewhere in the middle of that chaos,
- 2:19:03Speaker 1: I call myself thinking, this is it. This is our family,
- 2:19:08Speaker 1: not someday, but right now. Your oldest teaches you how
- 2:19:11Speaker 1: to be a dad, your youngest teaches you how to
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: slow down, and both of them, without knowing it, are
- 2:19:16Speaker 1: raising a better version of you. So if you're in it,
- 2:19:19Speaker 1: the tantrums, the teething, the long nights, the regressions, all
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: of it, take a second to breathe it in. These
- 2:19:26Speaker 1: aren't the years you get through. These are the years
- 2:19:28Speaker 1: that you'll miss and the version of you they remember later.
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: You're building that guy today and in those moments. So
- 2:19:38Speaker 1: that's a little bit of the reflection piece. It's more like, oh,
- 2:19:41Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, gentlemen.
- 2:19:43Speaker 4: What's that dude?
- 2:19:45Speaker 3: Well said?
- 2:19:46Speaker 2: But you you're still like learning on the go, like
- 2:19:48Speaker 2: you have all the firsts with your firstborn, so that
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: you're you're like recreating this capacity for your second.
- 2:19:54Speaker 1: They're having their first and like having the same excitement,
- 2:19:57Speaker 1: having the same intention, you know, spend that quality time
- 2:20:01Speaker 1: that you know the first one had, even though the
- 2:20:02Speaker 1: first even though Rue she's like wanting you to paint
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: with her do ours and crafts, she's Scotty wanted to
- 2:20:06Speaker 1: get in the way and kind of hit because she
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: wants to be involved, be like her big sister, be
- 2:20:09Speaker 1: in the mix, and like taking those moments that helps
- 2:20:12Speaker 1: you slow down. They're like, hey, she's going through her
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: first two, and it just it shifts a perspective of
- 2:20:18Speaker 1: like slowing down on those moments because now that Rue's three,
- 2:20:21Speaker 1: I play all the old videos and tears will come
- 2:20:23Speaker 1: to my eyes when I listen to her old voice memos,
- 2:20:26Speaker 1: just when she's little and has a cute, little innocent voice,
- 2:20:29Speaker 1: and now that she's three and becoming this wonderful little girl.
- 2:20:32Speaker 1: It just as I hold Scottie, you just get reminded
- 2:20:36Speaker 1: that these moments go so fast because I just wish
- 2:20:39Speaker 1: Ru was Yeah, I know she's three. She's little, but
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: I wish she was still one two years old, and
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: having those moments that they're gone. They're now just bottled
- 2:20:47Speaker 1: up in photos and vote in videos and voice memos
- 2:20:51Speaker 1: that we hold on to and love to cling to,
- 2:20:53Speaker 1: like when we're scrolling at nighttime and we're just obsessed
- 2:20:55Speaker 1: with them, like we got our first photos in from
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: being at school and we're clearly just over the moon
- 2:21:00Speaker 1: about and we want all of them, we want to
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: hang them up everywhere, And it's just such a reminder
- 2:21:04Speaker 1: that having Scotty like those moments are happening right now
- 2:21:08Speaker 1: that we wish.
- 2:21:08Speaker 4: So much we still had Roo with that we now
- 2:21:10Speaker 4: have it in Scotti.
- 2:21:11Speaker 1: So it helps you to kind of slow down and
- 2:21:14Speaker 1: just see the perspective of it all, like when she
- 2:21:16Speaker 1: is having this little regression at twelve months and you're
- 2:21:19Speaker 1: hoping she's doing all right, and you're just having those
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: fun moments when she's laughing, she's ah, she's being a
- 2:21:24Speaker 1: little Scott's Zilla. It's just appreciating because time fucking flies.
- 2:21:28Speaker 1: We're always going to talk about time. We're always going
- 2:21:30Speaker 1: to talk about communication because we just we lose it
- 2:21:34Speaker 1: on and hopefully one day we do for the dads
- 2:21:35Speaker 1: for as long as we're dads. But this is like
- 2:21:38Speaker 1: a time capsule that we'll get to look back to
- 2:21:40Speaker 1: and hopefully our kids come across it one day and
- 2:21:42Speaker 1: listen to us talk about how they were little, the
- 2:21:44Speaker 1: stuff that we went through, And I think that would
- 2:21:46Speaker 1: be sick if that happens. But but yeah, man, kind
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: of some reflection as I was thinking about Scotty turning one,
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: because I want to do a video and do all
- 2:21:54Speaker 1: these things and I should probably just give it the
- 2:21:55Speaker 1: chef so we can make something. But it's tough with
- 2:21:59Speaker 1: how quickly and how much how busy the schedule gets.
- 2:22:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that lesson of the week. I have
- 2:22:07Speaker 3: a short quake lesson of the week. Rip it Mine
- 2:22:12Speaker 3: actually comes verbatim from Jill on Sunday when we were
- 2:22:16Speaker 3: having that little pow Wow come to Jesus' Husband Wife
- 2:22:20Speaker 3: Talk and we had talked on the podcast last week
- 2:22:23Speaker 3: where I was like, I am having trouble having excitement
- 2:22:27Speaker 3: in the morning to like get out of bed. I'm loved, brother, decent, ps.
- 2:22:36Speaker 3: I am having trouble having excitement to get out of bed,
- 2:22:39Speaker 3: to go attack the day, to be excited just for
- 2:22:42Speaker 3: the day to day stuff.
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: And.
- 2:22:46Speaker 3: Jill, just with tears in her eyes, had a really
- 2:22:49Speaker 3: great message to me of when we were back in
- 2:22:53Speaker 3: Fort Worth and you were a contractor and you had
- 2:22:58Speaker 3: all the time in the day to have a nap.
- 2:23:01Speaker 3: You would sit there and you would call me and
- 2:23:03Speaker 3: you would cry about how you want all the responsibilities
- 2:23:08Speaker 3: and all the opportunities that you now have at your job.
- 2:23:12Speaker 3: You would have done anything to shoot the commercial that
- 2:23:16Speaker 3: we got to shoot yesterday on Monday, to be able
- 2:23:20Speaker 3: to direct that. And now that you're in it and
- 2:23:24Speaker 3: you have new responsibilities with our child, you have new
- 2:23:27Speaker 3: responsibilities with me as your wife. Sit back and really
- 2:23:32Speaker 3: find the things in your life that you are thankful for,
- 2:23:35Speaker 3: and really highlight those and run those things through your
- 2:23:40Speaker 3: mind and remind yourself how good your life truly is.
- 2:23:45Speaker 3: Because life is good. We do have a lot of
- 2:23:47Speaker 3: stuff that is hard, we do have a lot of
- 2:23:49Speaker 3: obstacles in our way, but God, we have a cute
- 2:23:53Speaker 3: little family of three and we get to go to Franklin,
- 2:23:56Speaker 3: Tennessee and go, you know, yuck it up with the
- 2:23:59Speaker 3: beaman and just be goofballs. And I have a great
- 2:24:03Speaker 3: job that like, I'm very excited to be a part
- 2:24:06Speaker 3: of this place. And I have a daughter that lights
- 2:24:10Speaker 3: up when she sees me, and when I'm still asleep
- 2:24:13Speaker 3: in the morning, Jill was telling me, I'm my tear
- 2:24:15Speaker 3: up on this part. I'm gonna fight it though. Jill
- 2:24:18Speaker 3: was telling me that Scarlett stares at me while I'm
- 2:24:20Speaker 3: sleeping because she can't wait for me to wake up.
- 2:24:25Speaker 2: Life's good.
- 2:24:26Speaker 4: There's really good things in life, and we gotta press
- 2:24:29Speaker 4: and lean into those things.
- 2:24:32Speaker 3: That's my lesson of the week.
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: Be thankful.
- 2:24:34Speaker 3: And what a great time of year to be thankful.
- 2:24:37Speaker 4: I love that.
- 2:24:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 2:24:38Speaker 1: That's a great gratitude and perspective from Jill. Yeah, good call, dude.
- 2:24:44Speaker 1: It's she's right, Like that's that's like the correct way
- 2:24:49Speaker 1: of thinking about like we used to beg for a
- 2:24:52Speaker 1: life that we have or opportunities that we now have
- 2:24:55Speaker 1: that you slip into the monotonies of everyday life so
- 2:25:00Speaker 1: you start to like take them for granted. Yeah, you
- 2:25:02Speaker 1: get in these phases, these mental les or these lapses,
- 2:25:04Speaker 1: and you just forget that we are living the life
- 2:25:08Speaker 1: that we want to live.
- 2:25:09Speaker 4: Yeah, And so that's great perspective.
- 2:25:11Speaker 1: That's a great way to wrap it all the way
- 2:25:13Speaker 1: back to gratitude or starting with gratitude, because that's she
- 2:25:17Speaker 1: nailed that one.
- 2:25:18Speaker 3: We will always be going up that hill, and when
- 2:25:22Speaker 3: we get on top of that hill, there's gonna be
- 2:25:24Speaker 3: a new hill that we have to go climb. And
- 2:25:27Speaker 3: there are times that we should take of being at
- 2:25:30Speaker 3: the top of that hill and being happy and leaning
- 2:25:33Speaker 3: into that before we then press into that next hill
- 2:25:37Speaker 3: of responsibilities, problems, issues, whatever, because life is not going
- 2:25:41Speaker 3: to get easier, is going to get harder.
- 2:25:43Speaker 1: As you often say, yeah, there's always going to be
- 2:25:46Speaker 1: issues and problems that we face, no matter what.
- 2:25:49Speaker 4: Well said man, thank you, Yeah, well said, and well.
- 2:25:52Speaker 3: Said on you.
- 2:25:53Speaker 4: I have no no no well said on you, bro.
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: Okay, before you start, before you start, Chef Jack lotting me.
- 2:26:03Speaker 3: I love it when you write stuff, and I'm just
- 2:26:04Speaker 3: gonna leave it at that.
- 2:26:06Speaker 4: I love it when you saw stuff. He's not cut
- 2:26:08Speaker 4: his mind, dude, you that was well said.
