- Lucas: Luna, ready for today's tiny lesson? We're going to talk about the body — body parts in Danish. Luna: Oh, that's useful. I've been meaning to learn how to say 'head' or 'arm' for when I'm at the doctor. Lucas: Exactly. Let's start with the most important one: hoved. That means 'head'. Luna: Hoved. Hoved. Sounds a bit like 'hover', like hovering over something. Lucas: Close enough. Now try saying it slowly: ho-ved. Luna: Ho-ved. Hoved. Lucas: Perfect. Now a sentence: Jeg har ondt i hovedet. That means 'I have a headache' — literally 'I have pain in the head'. Luna: Jeg har ondt i hovedet. That's a bit of a mouthful, but I think I got it. Jeg har ondt i hovedet. Lucas: You did. Let's move to arm. Arm means 'arm' — same spelling in English, but pronounced a bit differently. In Danish, it's like 'ahm' with a short a. Luna: Ahm. Arm. So my arm is 'min arm'? Lucas: Exactly. Min arm. And if you want to say 'my arms', it's 'mine arme'. Luna: Mine arme. Okay, that's good. What about leg? Lucas: Leg is 'ben'. b e n. Pronounced like 'ben' in English, but with a softer e. Luna: Ben. Ben. So 'my leg' is 'mit ben'? Lucas: Correct! Because 'ben' is neuter, so it takes 'mit'. And 'my legs' is 'mine ben'. Luna: Mine ben. I can work with that. How about a sentence? Like 'He has long legs'? Lucas: Great idea. That would be 'Han har lange ben.' Try it. Luna: Han har lange ben. Han har lange ben. I love how that sounds. Lucas: You're a natural. Let's do a quick recap: hoved, arm, ben. And two sentences: Jeg har ondt i hovedet. Han har lange ben. Luna: Hoved, arm, ben. Jeg har ondt i hovedet. Han har lange ben. Lucas: Now, I want to say something. You know how we keep these episodes ad-free? It's really important to us that you get a clean learning experience without interruptions. Luna: Totally. And if you find these lessons helpful, there's a simple way to support us. Just head over to buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Lucas: Yeah. That small gesture helps us keep making episodes like this one. And now, back to our body parts. How about we practice pointing to things? Luna: Sounds fun. So if I point to my head, I say 'mit hoved'? Lucas: Exactly. And if you point to my arm, you say 'din arm'. Luna: Din arm. Okay, and for leg... 'dit ben'. Lucas: Perfect. Now try combining them: 'Mit hoved, din arm, dit ben.' Luna: Mit hoved, din arm, dit ben. I think I've got it! Lucas: You do. Keep practicing these, and next time we'll add more body parts. For now, that's all from Fexingo.
