- 0:09crazier get ready this is fanatically speaking
- 0:12with kent and log off you know what's funny like
- 0:15i don't hate i don't i'm not a social media hater
- 0:18i'm a social media hater You know what I mean?
- 0:23Yeah. I don't want people to think that I get
- 0:25on the internet and start hating people on social
- 0:27media. That's not what I do. The first half was
- 0:30absolutely horrible. You know, just inept offense,
- 0:35inept defense, special teams, you name it. I'm
- 0:39going to turn into Oprah. Why were you so angry?
- 0:43He sucks this season. This game, whatever. Whatever's
- 0:47going on, right? And then in the very next pitch,
- 0:49guess what they do? Double Homer and he's like
- 0:52told you dad. Why are you always knocking down
- 0:55people? Listen, you got the highs and the lows
- 0:57Yeah, so I knew that you need you need the highs
- 0:59and the lows and so I do that. Yeah I'm trying
- 1:03to be the voice of reason here. I am what I am
- 1:18what's up everybody welcome to another episode
- 1:20of fanatically speaking i'm kent the co -host
- 1:22and promoter i am log off the log off legend
- 1:26the hater of social media i am the co -host and
- 1:29producer of the show up to this episode we're
- 1:31going to get into the nfl as it stands currently
- 1:34it was a wild sunday a lot of stories a lot of
- 1:38things going on it was so much stuff man and
- 1:41uh we we hopped in the group chat back and forth
- 1:45all day during the day watching all the games.
- 1:48The first thing obviously grabbed everybody's
- 1:51attention was the Jaden Daniels injury, you know,
- 1:54Sunday night game, a lot of eyes on it. And,
- 1:57you know, he was a up and coming good young quarterback,
- 2:00you know, and I think the, uh, the commanders
- 2:02had a lot of high hopes this year. So watching
- 2:05that injury take place, um, I think, so I think
- 2:08it was, it was a left dislocated elbow. Yeah.
- 2:11Yeah, so left dislocated elbow. It was ugly to
- 2:15watch the video was it's actually hard to find
- 2:17I was trying to find replays of it. It was tough
- 2:20to find online but um, but yeah, so Clearly he'll
- 2:24he'll be out for a while, you know with an injury
- 2:26like that But you immediately took to the group
- 2:29chat to have a a super hot take on it I think
- 2:33a lot of people echoed your sentiments. What
- 2:34did you have on it? Yeah, so as soon as I saw
- 2:37as soon as I saw the time on the clock soon as
- 2:39I saw a score I checked out the game, but at
- 2:42that moment, I did not. It was just, I had enough.
- 2:45Enough, yeah, so, yeah, I gotta sleep sometimes.
- 2:49So when I got up, saw the text, I was like, oh,
- 2:51let me go see. Saw the play. And the first thing
- 2:55that I, as text, and now I've seen it everywhere,
- 2:58obviously anyone would have this reaction to
- 3:00say, why was he in the game? It was 38 to seven,
- 3:03seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. Why
- 3:05was he even in the football game? The game was
- 3:08over, they were not winning. And I get it that
- 3:10the drive, you know, started and then at that
- 3:13moment, they were, you know, in the red zone,
- 3:16almost scoring seven minutes left at that point.
- 3:19But still, like, why even be in the game? You
- 3:22know, he's already had injuries this year. Again,
- 3:24why you don't want your star player in the game
- 3:26when you can't win. Yeah. So I've on the surface,
- 3:31I understand what you mean. I think the thing
- 3:34about it, I don't know if you remember this last
- 3:37year. Last year, his year was incredible, man.
- 3:40He had an incredible season. Oh, for sure. For
- 3:42rookie season, he had six comeback wins. Now,
- 3:4738 to seven, little out of hand, right? Yeah,
- 3:50not happening. Miracles happen every day. And,
- 3:52you know, so I'm not going to sit here and try
- 3:53to make it seem like I felt like, or I knew he
- 3:56was going to try to come back or, but he was
- 3:58one of those guys that even when they were down
- 4:00and out last year, Six comeback wins, you know,
- 4:04coming from behind at the trailing in the fourth
- 4:07quarter. That's incredible. I think that they
- 4:09thought that that was, you know, something that
- 4:10maybe he could have pulled off or at least make
- 4:12the game competitive. But I agree with you largely.
- 4:16Seven minutes is like, go ahead and get that
- 4:17guy out of the game. You got to protect him against
- 4:19himself and live to fight another day. You're
- 4:22getting your asses kicked in front of everybody.
- 4:24You know, just go ahead and pull them out of
- 4:25the game and, you know, live to play another
- 4:28down. Yeah, the other thing I thought of was
- 4:31RG 3. I was like here we go again Washington
- 4:34Putting a quarterback or having a quarterback
- 4:36in there and meaningless time or off an injury
- 4:39coming back from an injury risking it For what
- 4:43at least I think RG 3 was a playoff game though.
- 4:45So it was a playoff game But but but yet still,
- 4:48you know risking it and here we go again in a
- 4:51Sunday night football game middle of the season
- 4:54When the season the game was pretty much over
- 4:57And now we can say that their season is pretty
- 4:59much over. Yeah, no. Yeah, it's over for sure.
- 5:03And I mean, it's unfortunate you don't root for
- 5:05anything to happen like that to especially to
- 5:07a young quarterback. But that's the other thing.
- 5:10And it's the interesting parallels with the Jaden
- 5:13Daniels injury and RG three injuries. They were
- 5:16both really young. Their skill sets or are incredibly
- 5:20similar. Yep. Even though RG three had more muscle.
- 5:24they're both really slim frame body types like
- 5:27the parallels are just crazy and in both of these
- 5:30instances you i don't even know if you remember
- 5:33the rg3 game people were screaming the same thing
- 5:36at the tv why do you still have him out there
- 5:38he was out there playing on a bum knee and then
- 5:40you watch his leg almost snap in half you know
- 5:43in midair So it was so many parallels between
- 5:47the two. The comparison's crazy. Same team, same
- 5:49franchise, clearly different coaching staffs,
- 5:52but it's just like, damn, that franchise can't
- 5:54catch a break to save its life. No, not with
- 5:56a young quarterback who, again, RG3 showed promise.
- 6:00It is Ricky's season. Jaden Daniels obviously
- 6:03did go into the NFC championship. And the other
- 6:07thing I thought was, you know, I was talking
- 6:08about old rat -faced Shanahan. Did he put in
- 6:10a call to Dan Quinn and say, leave him in? Let
- 6:14them play. Let them play through it. Yeah, you
- 6:17know, but it also is like, you know, you say
- 6:19that I feel like RG3 and Jaden Daniels and, and
- 6:25I, you know, say what you want to about RG3 to
- 6:27do who can play football. He understood the position.
- 6:30Yes. He wasn't the best passer, but he was a,
- 6:32he was an above average passer, really good completion
- 6:35percentage, didn't turn the ball over a lot.
- 6:38He could have been the franchise quarterback
- 6:40for a decade if it wasn't like injury, you know,
- 6:43riddled. Yeah, yeah, I think that injury derailed
- 6:45his career, his entire career. Not everybody
- 6:48bounces back from those injuries. And for Jaden
- 6:52Daniels, he's going to have to bulk up. You know,
- 6:54I've always heard he is slim. I mean, I mean,
- 6:57obviously you can see that he's slim and it's
- 6:58like, dude, you got to be careful. It's the NFL.
- 7:01You say this about Bryce Young being small and
- 7:04slim as well. These quarterbacks like you can
- 7:07play. the NFL but you got to you got to protect
- 7:10yourself and you got to be careful and Sometimes
- 7:12you're just not gonna be able maybe your body's
- 7:14just not gonna make it. Yeah, that's true And
- 7:16I'll give and you know, we talked about size,
- 7:19you know in this instance We're talking about
- 7:20Jayden Daniels being you know, relatively slim
- 7:22I can't think of I can't think of a comp in terms
- 7:25of how frail he looks as a as a as a starting
- 7:28quarterback that we deemed was like great I'm
- 7:32I'm I'm racking my brain. I mean maybe Mariota
- 7:34maybe But I feel like Mariota had a little had
- 7:37broader shoulders You know, I'm struggling but
- 7:41you know, you're talking about like size like
- 7:42somebody like Kyla Murray. He learned early,
- 7:44dude I'm a slide. I'm not taking these hits,
- 7:47but you know, you know, he's like a short but
- 7:49he's stocky It's just slim and that body it can
- 7:53only take so many hits so many falls so many
- 7:56injuries He's got to have like a Tom Brady offensive
- 7:59line in front of him to help him just not get
- 8:03touched at all Yeah Yeah, and like I said, I
- 8:05mean, it's thanks for him. I mean, we'll see
- 8:07what happens to their season. You know, I don't
- 8:09know how things are going to play out. Maybe
- 8:11they can pull off a miracle. But I mean, as of
- 8:13right now, if I had to bet money, I'd bet like,
- 8:15yeah, they'll go ahead and just kind of hang
- 8:17it up and see if they can get them a really good
- 8:19draft pick, you know, in the in the draft coming
- 8:21up this summer. Yeah, they'll compete. Mariota
- 8:24has been serviceable. They're just kind of old
- 8:27as a team. And, you know, maybe it was just one
- 8:31year. I don't know. Yeah, yeah could have been
- 8:33a flash in the pan Oh Something else that happened.
- 8:42So there's the the Daniel Jones, you know a lead
- 8:47Indianapolis Colts game versus the Steelers and
- 8:51You know, we kind of had some back and forth
- 8:53about Dale Jones, you know, he had a really crazy
- 8:56hot start We saw how he was playing well after
- 8:58he left the Giants, you know, starting quarterback
- 9:00for them this year. And then, you know, they
- 9:03play their game against the Steelers. And I have
- 9:07to find the picture, but there's a picture of
- 9:09this gentleman when, I want to say it was after
- 9:12his second pick, and the camera zoomed in on
- 9:15him right after they were calling a play, and
- 9:18all the other players were running to the line
- 9:20of scrimmage, and the look on his face was sheer
- 9:23fear. He was scared out of his mind the Steelers
- 9:27defense credit to Mike Tomlin Credit to that
- 9:30line credit to those linebackers credit to those
- 9:32DBs. They were all over his ass They were swarming
- 9:36him like bees. He couldn't get anything off.
- 9:39He couldn't see anything He couldn't get clean
- 9:42looks and it was a Destruction of a quarterback.
- 9:47I can't it's hard for me to remember a quarterback
- 9:50had to him playing so well all season and then
- 9:53just have a game like that where you just drop
- 9:55a turd in front of everybody you know in a big
- 9:58game versus the Steelers of all of all teams
- 10:01who were playing okay but they tried to give
- 10:04that game away because even with all those turnovers
- 10:06they weren't blowing them out like the game was
- 10:08still competitive even up until the very end
- 10:10the game was still competitive so um I'm sure
- 10:13you've had a chance to kind of take a look at
- 10:15what took place there. What stuck out to you,
- 10:17um, about the, uh, about Daniel Jones versus
- 10:20the Steelers. So you say you haven't seen a quarterback
- 10:24like that in a while that happened. I don't remember
- 10:26that happening since Jake Delome against the
- 10:29Arizona Cardinals. Wow. That's a damn good one,
- 10:32man. Like he damn that's a good one. He was serving,
- 10:35uh, turnovers. He was giving out desserts to
- 10:38everybody. Uh, yeah, but, um, but to steal is
- 10:42two things either happen, right? Daniel Jones,
- 10:43like you said, turned back into a pumpkin or
- 10:46the Steelers, all the money they put in their
- 10:48defense finally showed up and played the way
- 10:50they could play because they got carved up by
- 10:53Joe Flacco. They've been really carved up by
- 10:55everybody, but then they come out and outscore
- 10:58them, right? They've been able to survive, be
- 11:01above 500. playing pretty good football, but
- 11:04not great football. So the Colts have been awesome.
- 11:07Daniel Jones has been awesome. Jonathan Taylor
- 11:10been awesome. They've been the number one team,
- 11:12right? In the AFC. Again, I said I believed in
- 11:15them. So Daniel Jones, you're making me look
- 11:16stupid. So, but like I said, one or two things
- 11:20happen there, right? And we talked about this
- 11:22with all these quarterbacks who are having this
- 11:23revival is like, are they for real or do they
- 11:27come back to reality? Is this reality for Daniel
- 11:29Jones? Or is the Steelers, did they finally click
- 11:33for that defense? One of the two things happened,
- 11:36right? Or maybe it's just a bad week. Maybe it's
- 11:39just a bad game. I don't know. I think it was
- 11:41a combination of the two. And in that episode
- 11:44where you claimed that you believed in the Colts,
- 11:47I mean, it wasn't a ridiculous thing to say.
- 11:50They'd been playing well up to that point. In
- 11:53that very same episode, I believe I said, and
- 11:56I quote, I don't trust none of these motherfuckers.
- 11:59is because uh... it was a look at the things
- 12:01like that because you know he'd he'd i'd we all
- 12:06knew these capable of having a game like that
- 12:08we seem to have bad games you would play for
- 12:10the giants over the last couple years but i think
- 12:14take to get to your uh... one of the original
- 12:17points you're trying to make i think it was a
- 12:19combination of two things it was a combination
- 12:22of the steelers defense kind of figuring things
- 12:24out the defensive coordinator, Mike Tomlin getting
- 12:27together and say, Hey, we're just going to scheme
- 12:29this guy and we're going to take away all of
- 12:31his strengths and see if he can handle the pressure.
- 12:34And he couldn't, but also you also have the other
- 12:38side of Daniel Jones being a relatively inexperienced
- 12:42quarterback in huge games where you're going
- 12:46to be dependent on him to really help carry your
- 12:48team and get them over the hump. So I think it
- 12:50was just kind of a healthy mix of the two that
- 12:53just unfortunately turned into what five turnovers,
- 12:57five turnovers, five sacks, you know? Yeah. And
- 12:59just looking at the stats again, the, you know,
- 13:01the Colts, they got down kind of big, but not
- 13:04huge, but this is a recipe to beat the Colts
- 13:07right here. And the Steelers got it. You make
- 13:09Daniel Jones have 50 attempts passing and you
- 13:14hold Jonathan Taylor to 45 yards on 14 rushes.
- 13:17That's a recipe to beat the Colts right there.
- 13:19We know there the running game is the strength
- 13:22Make Daniel Jones thought 50 times and I bet
- 13:24you're gonna beat the Colts every time Got it.
- 13:27Well, yeah, and they put him in a position to
- 13:29where they were like, Oh, he's got to throw it
- 13:31this time. So now it's like, Hey, we're just
- 13:33going to drop everybody back. We're going to
- 13:35push our line. We're going to blitz. Yeah. You
- 13:37know, we're going to come from, we're going to
- 13:38come from the left. We're going to come in the
- 13:39middle. We're going to come from the right. You
- 13:41know, he's going to scramble out. Somebody's
- 13:42going to kid him from behind. He had no, what
- 13:44he had no time to think. And again, relatively
- 13:49inexperienced quarterback in big games. You're
- 13:51playing the Steelers, you know, big game. You
- 13:56know my coach by Mike Tomlin Aaron Rodgers is
- 13:59their quarterback and it's crazy It is as big
- 14:03of a name as Aaron Rodgers is we haven't really
- 14:05spoken a lot about him this whole season But
- 14:09yet the Steelers are still formidable They're
- 14:11still able to go out and when he had to go out
- 14:12and out play Aaron Rodgers And he didn't stand
- 14:15a chance man. It was it was over before it started
- 14:18I watched that game from start to finish and
- 14:21man was it ugly There you go That's it. Yeah,
- 14:26good old Daniel Jones. Alright, Danny Dimes.
- 14:32Danny Dimes. Oh, I forgot about that nickname.
- 14:35Danny Dimes. New York fans are ridiculous. Don't
- 14:39give you anything. Danny Dimes. Alright, so the
- 14:48other thing is off the field that happened the
- 14:51last week. Was the Philadelphia Eagles making
- 14:55moves Howie Roseman cooking? trading Filling
- 15:00in the spots that they need help in while they're
- 15:02on this bye week Yes, no, it was huge and you
- 15:08know during their bye week, you know good old
- 15:11Howie You know got to clicking started making
- 15:13his calls and started making the moves for the
- 15:16trades I'm curious kind of what you grade the
- 15:20trades. You're much better at this type of stuff
- 15:21than I am. It's not a strength. I kind of have
- 15:23to lean on, you know, the experts on their opinions,
- 15:26but I value your opinions on this. How did you
- 15:29feel about the trades and the acquisitions that
- 15:31they made to talent and what they gave up and
- 15:34what they got back in return? Yeah, so almost
- 15:37anybody could have been an upgraded cornerback
- 15:42on the opposite side of Quinian Mitchell. That's
- 15:45how bad Odore Jackson and Keely Ringo had been.
- 15:48And that was going to come back to bite the Eagles
- 15:51once they play a team like the Cowboys with when
- 15:53both receivers are healthy Or the Packers they
- 15:57have a lot of receivers teams like that Lions
- 16:00these offensive juggernauts That would be tough.
- 16:04No matter who you know, no matter how what else
- 16:05the Eagles have on defense So, you know the first
- 16:08trade they made obviously to get Michael Carter
- 16:11the second He was on the Jets. They're not going
- 16:14anywhere. So they were looking to make deals
- 16:16trade them for the receiver and maybe some late
- 16:22picks. I don't really pay attention. It was a
- 16:2727th round pick. Yeah. So nothing, Eagles, you
- 16:31know, a receiver, they kind of use sparingly,
- 16:34not really, but they get an upgraded corner.
- 16:37He's more of a nickel corner. So I just thought,
- 16:40okay, depth and let's see what else they do.
- 16:43Right. Gotcha. So then of course out of nowhere
- 16:46over the weekend, then they get Jair Alexander
- 16:48from the Baltimore Ravens. He was having trouble
- 16:51finding the field for Baltimore. We don't know
- 16:55what they're doing at the moment. They had, they've
- 16:57been behind the eight ball all year. So they
- 17:00made a move again, late round picks involved.
- 17:03Now he's a starting corner. So already now, you
- 17:07know, okay, now we got, now we, I say we, obviously
- 17:10the Eagles have Quinian and Jair Alexander. And
- 17:14you got Cooper DeGene. Michael Carter they can
- 17:17they can be in the nickel. I Look like Carter
- 17:20could fill that void that Avanti Maddox did in
- 17:24the past You know that just another corner to
- 17:27add depth I don't know what Ringo and Jackson
- 17:30are gonna do and I really don't care and Then
- 17:33today they they pick up Jalen Phillips defensive
- 17:37end edge rusher for from the Dolphins for a third
- 17:40round pick He I know when the Eagles have played
- 17:44them he was He was kind of a problem, right?
- 17:48He got to the quarterback. So he's had some injuries
- 17:51the past few years. The first few years in the
- 17:54year league, he had good numbers and sacks. So
- 17:56putting him in this system again with Vic Fangio,
- 17:58who he's played with, I think it's a win. I think
- 18:01all three moves were just unbelievable. You don't
- 18:05have to get it. They didn't have to give up a
- 18:07lot. I don't mind giving up a third round for
- 18:10a young. edge rusher like that to put them in
- 18:12the mix with the other guys on the line and then
- 18:16again fixing that corner cornerback problem adding
- 18:19that depth they needed desperately for this second
- 18:22half run gotcha no yeah and it was they were
- 18:26all really good picks and i think the timing
- 18:29of it was probably uh what was what was the most
- 18:31surprising approaching the trade deadline and
- 18:35you know it allows them to kind of bring these
- 18:37guys in and you don't have to rush them on the
- 18:39field Because the guys that they got traded for
- 18:42weren't pivotal pieces to begin with. This gives
- 18:44them a couple of weeks. Obviously, they had the
- 18:46bye week. But this gives them a couple of weeks
- 18:48to kind of let them understand the playbook,
- 18:50let them understand the scheme, understand how
- 18:52the team plays, and then just work them into
- 18:55the system slowly. Masterful moves, and I mean,
- 18:59I think it's easy to say that the Eagles made
- 19:01the best moves at the trade deadline than any
- 19:04other team. If you're giving grades, you've got
- 19:05to give them an A. Because the team was already
- 19:08so good and they went and got the pieces that
- 19:10they needed in the weakest areas that they had
- 19:13A plus across the board, you know, it was good
- 19:16to see and you know, we'll just kind of see how
- 19:17it shakes out You know later into the year, you
- 19:19know moving into these colder months when you
- 19:21know teams are actually starting to secure a
- 19:23playoff spot Yeah, and not to mention, you know,
- 19:26they brought back brandon graham. We didn't talk
- 19:28about that Like that's happened that's happened
- 19:30right here before the you know, I think it happened
- 19:33actually before the game the giants game, but
- 19:35still They had given him time give him a few
- 19:38weeks to get back into shape play in shape Get
- 19:41back in the rhythm and again now it's today.
- 19:44They don't play until Monday night next week
- 19:47Against the Packers. So again, Johnny Alexander
- 19:49is former team. That's kind of motivation and
- 19:52then just getting them plugged in Again, it gets
- 19:55a really tough November schedule Yeah, yeah tough
- 19:58November schedule, but but none of the guys that
- 20:01were acquired None of the guys that were picked
- 20:03up and signed none of them have to rush in to
- 20:06play And I think that's the beauty of it. Your
- 20:08team and your roster was still pretty intact.
- 20:11You don't have to rush these guys into anything.
- 20:13You could just, you know, give them, you know,
- 20:1610 to 15 plays a game and just see how they do,
- 20:19you know, let them get their conditioning back,
- 20:20let them get their wind back, let them understand
- 20:22how the schemes work. Again, masterful, man.
- 20:25I love it. It's good to see it. And, you know,
- 20:27we'll just kind of see how things shake out,
- 20:29you know, as we move on into December, because
- 20:31we'll be here before we know it. Howie, man.
- 20:34Yeah, howie all day. He takes thing to ski mask
- 20:37way Yes, he does. Well, yeah and in plain sight
- 20:41because and that's the other thing you look at
- 20:42all these other teams You all these other teams
- 20:45have the same opportunities, but here he goes.
- 20:47He's like, you know what damn it? We're just
- 20:48gonna roll the dice and make these acquisitions
- 20:51And you know, and we're gonna you know cherry
- 20:53pick these players that fit here with us and
- 20:55fit the culture Yeah, man, I'm excited man. Let's
- 20:58see how things go. Yes, sir So you want to talk
- 21:06about these Packers? Yeah. Packers playing the
- 21:10Panthers, what you got on it? Yeah, so, you know,
- 21:13we mentioned the Eagles are going to play the
- 21:15Packers. Speaking of the Packers, I think they
- 21:18were your pick out of the NFC. The Packers were
- 21:22my pick out of the NFC. So we've both taken Ls
- 21:25this week. As one of the teams you believed in.
- 21:28And yes, we both take Ls. They decided that they
- 21:31would lose to the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau.
- 21:34in which the Panthers dominated the clock. They
- 21:38run the ball. That's their strength. And they
- 21:42had a chance really to put that game away. Somehow
- 21:45Mike Jackson dropped a duck of a pass by Jordan
- 21:49Love that should have been a 105 yard pick six.
- 21:54Only that allowed the Packers to tie that game.
- 21:57Ultimately then the Panthers won with the field
- 21:59goal. But that's a let down, man. We've seen
- 22:01this from the Packers, right? They're hyped because
- 22:04they got Michael Parsons. They're hyped because
- 22:06Jordan Love will wait for him to take that next
- 22:08step. He had a really good playoff run a few
- 22:10years ago. And they've got all these weapons.
- 22:14They obviously lost Tucker Kraft, which is going
- 22:16to hurt them. They're banged up in the receivers.
- 22:19Now, again, I don't want nobody to be hurt, but
- 22:21it is perfect timing. They're about to play the
- 22:24Eagles. Again, I don't know again. Does it show
- 22:28like are the Packers are they just not for real?
- 22:31Because they've had these letdowns tying the
- 22:33Cowboys losing to the Panthers no disrespect
- 22:35to the Panthers But again every other week, you
- 22:37don't know what you get, right? They are much
- 22:40better with Brett Bryce Young than Andy Dalton.
- 22:42That is for sure and Rico Dowdell has been great
- 22:45for the Panthers, but this is more about the
- 22:46Packers and again to lose at home is a big deal
- 22:52to the Panthers who at best probably finished
- 22:55500 or a game below this year? Yeah, so I Like
- 23:02looking at the game like watching the game it
- 23:06seemed really Like a slow -paced game It seemed
- 23:10like a game that that had to be slow in order
- 23:12for the Panthers to really have a chance But
- 23:15was most glaring to me about the game as a whole
- 23:18was that Bryce Young only had a hundred yards
- 23:20passing He had 102 yards passing. So their defense
- 23:25held up. Like you said, you mentioned Micah Parsons
- 23:27and you know that acquisition and just how strong
- 23:29it was. It was also a game that was won with
- 23:32a field goal at the very end. So the Packers
- 23:34were competitive. Still a big letdown. I believe
- 23:36they were favored in that game. They still should
- 23:38have won it. So I'm not going to try to defend
- 23:40them. But even with the huge letdowns that they've
- 23:44had this year, they're still 5 -2 -1 in any NFC.
- 23:49They still have an opportunity to kind of turn
- 23:51things around. It's just unfortunate that these
- 23:53are one of these games as this was their get
- 23:56right game at home. And they should have been
- 23:59able to kind of, you know, clear a path where
- 24:01they can just go ahead and just take the Panthers
- 24:02out and secure this win. They weren't able to
- 24:05do it. But hats off to the Panthers, man. They
- 24:07went on the road and got a tough win against
- 24:10a team that I don't think they really had a shot
- 24:12against. They got the opportunity to keep the
- 24:14game close at the very end, kick a long field
- 24:17goal, win it, take that win home, bring it back
- 24:20to Charlotte. Hats off to them, man. I can't,
- 24:22I don't have a bad word to say about them. Good
- 24:24job. They did what they needed to do. Yeah, I
- 24:27will say it's Bryce Young's best one so far as
- 24:30a pro. The Packers, this is how bad it is, though.
- 24:34The Panthers on the road have been horrible this
- 24:36year. The only road win they had was against
- 24:39the Jets, and they suck. So to go into Lambeau
- 24:43and win, that's a huge deal. And again, it's
- 24:45a letdown for the Packers. And again, we don't
- 24:48need them to bounce back against the Eagles once
- 24:49again. They played them next. But I think they'll
- 24:52still be a playoff team. They got some divisional
- 24:55games left. But again, they'll still finish 10,
- 24:5811 wins. Got it. And I mean, it's going to happen,
- 25:01you know, the teams, I feel like every season,
- 25:07a great team loses a game where it's the what
- 25:10the hell happened type of game. And, you know,
- 25:13this was just, it just happened to be their game.
- 25:14We'll see if things fizzle out. Maybe it's, maybe
- 25:16it's the beginning of the end for them. Maybe
- 25:18this is their downward spiral. I personally don't
- 25:20think so, but it was a game that they sure certainly
- 25:23should have won. But again, the Panthers went
- 25:25out there and did what they needed to do. Bryce
- 25:27Yarrow was like, give me a dollar and two yards
- 25:30and I'm going to make this work. And he did it.
- 25:32It's all he needed to get the win, get the field
- 25:34goal at the end. you know congrats i'm gonna
- 25:37i'm gonna you know take my hat off to them you
- 25:39know good for them and you know we'll see we'll
- 25:41see what the packers can do next week yeah on
- 25:50to another team that that lost this past weekend
- 25:53and it was a big game bill's chiefs but i think
- 25:57we gotta yeah but i think we gotta talk like
- 25:59right now the chiefs are looking into the playoffs
- 26:01they're only outside looking in I still think
- 26:04they make the playoffs, but they've got some
- 26:07tough games as well. Divisional games, Broncos,
- 26:10things like that. But it's a really, once again,
- 26:13they're five and four, so not at the moment.
- 26:17So their season's not over, but we hype up Mahomes.
- 26:21They say he's an MVP candidate. He didn't have
- 26:23a good game. Buffalo is showing up now two weeks
- 26:27in a row. Now, one was against the Panthers and
- 26:29Andy Dalton, but now against the Chiefs. You
- 26:32know, these are those games every season. And
- 26:35I know we're talking about the Chiefs, and it's
- 26:36like I said, until you beat them, they're still
- 26:39the team to beat in AFC, right? Until you knock
- 26:41them out of the playoffs, they're the team. So
- 26:44every time the Ravens, the Bills, I don't overreact
- 26:47and say, oh my God, the Buffalo Bills, they're
- 26:49ready now, because they got to do it in the playoffs.
- 26:52And until they do that, then the Chiefs are still
- 26:54the team to beat. True and and looking at the
- 26:58Chiefs and again, I'm gonna stand on my I don't
- 27:01trust any team in the NFL Everyone's up and down
- 27:04If there is a team with a resume out of the entire
- 27:08league out of every team that's played this season
- 27:10The Chiefs have had they haven't had bad losses
- 27:14Chargers 27 and 21 loss of the Eagles 20 to 17
- 27:19kept that game close loss of the Jags 31 28,
- 27:23you know, Josh Allen into bills The Chiefs still
- 27:26had a chance to win that game against Josh Allen
- 27:2928 -21. They were still in reach. So they're
- 27:34competitive. It took them a while. They seem
- 27:37to get their flow back. And also, their wins
- 27:39are big wins. Ravens, 37 -20. Giants, 22 -9.
- 27:45Lions, 30 -17. Raiders, blowout, 31 -0. Commanders,
- 27:4928 -7. So when they're on it, You know, they're
- 27:53a tough team and a tough matchup for anyone.
- 27:55It's just that those losses hurt and such with
- 27:58their division being so competitive this year.
- 28:00But when you talk about them going into the playoffs,
- 28:04I don't know what their playoff matchup is going
- 28:08to look like. And the thing that's most overlooked
- 28:11about the Chiefs is that when they made their
- 28:13Super Bowl runs and they were having all of the
- 28:15success, they were hosting playoff games. I have
- 28:18no idea what the Chiefs are going to look like
- 28:20on the road. in the playoffs and you know I could
- 28:23I could probably pull up their playoff road record
- 28:25but to my knowledge when they're playing on the
- 28:27road they're not a good team in the playoffs
- 28:30yeah I think I think maybe one year they had
- 28:32to go on the road to get to the Super Bowl but
- 28:36for the most part, we're used to seeing teams
- 28:38having to go into Kansas City to win. Go in the
- 28:41arrowhead and win those games. I think this year,
- 28:44it's not going to be that way. Yeah, that's a
- 28:47tough road. It's hard to do. And so much so to
- 28:50where it drastically changes your odds of making
- 28:55it to a Super Bowl when you have to go and win.
- 28:58And especially, look, again, just going off of
- 29:00where they are right now, their third in their
- 29:02own division. Okay, so they're third in their
- 29:04own division, which means that in order and the
- 29:07only way that they'll be able As of now to proceed
- 29:10is it win a wild card game? And then win every
- 29:15single game on the road en route to a super bowl.
- 29:18I don't see it It's very hard to do who's who's
- 29:21done that the last time the um, didn't uh, eli
- 29:24manning giant Didn't eli manning giants do that
- 29:26twice? I think they did that twice. So I mean
- 29:29like it's rare Yeah, but it's rare. It's very
- 29:33rare and it's the toughest road, especially now
- 29:34the way it's set up, the playoff bracket. But
- 29:38the Chiefs, again, you talk about, you know,
- 29:40they're behind the Broncos and Chargers. Well,
- 29:42speaking of the team I don't trust, that's the
- 29:44Chargers. I don't trust the Broncos either. I
- 29:48don't trust them either. I really don't either.
- 29:50Like you said, I'm starting to come to your side
- 29:53as there's more and more teams I just don't trust.
- 29:56I don't care what they do. I mean, Broncos, I
- 29:59mean, winning is the main thing. They've won
- 30:01some ugly games, but as far as the Chiefs are
- 30:03concerned, again, going to be a tough out no
- 30:06matter where they play, because again, they have
- 30:08that championship pedigree. They still have Andy
- 30:11Reid, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, and they
- 30:14still have the referees. So they'll be fine.
- 30:16I guess they do. And the other thing I'll say
- 30:19is this, and this is just something to remember
- 30:22about the Chiefs. So we're sitting here, we're
- 30:24talking about like just the division record as
- 30:25a whole. They haven't played the Broncos yet.
- 30:28Oh, no, they got twice. Yeah, they got two games
- 30:30versus the broncos their next game is going to
- 30:32be up against the broncos You know, they'll still
- 30:34got that extra other game against the chargers
- 30:37Yeah, and then you know and then and this is
- 30:39the other crazy thing and this is going to sound
- 30:41ridiculous now But you guys know how this goes
- 30:44they in their regular season playing against
- 30:46the Raiders I know they blew the Raiders out
- 30:49but division games are always a coin toss So
- 30:52maybe they show up and hand the Raiders you know,
- 30:56another ass kicking, but that last game of the
- 30:59season, they're still going to have to go to
- 31:02Vegas and win that game. And who knows what their
- 31:05record is? They may need it to secure and lock
- 31:07in a playoff spot. Those division games are always
- 31:10a coin flip. I don't care what division you're
- 31:12in. True. And they have the Colts and at Dallas.
- 31:16So not at Dallas. Yes. Not an easy, uh, not an
- 31:20easy schedule. No, no, no, not at all. I totally
- 31:23agree. Another quarterback revived reviving his
- 31:31career and another team that we got to say, is
- 31:33this real or not? And it's the Seattle Seahawks
- 31:36and Sam Darnal. Yeah, the Seattle Seahawks. Um,
- 31:41you know, obviously we spoke about the, uh, the
- 31:43Jaden Daniels injury, um, earlier it, you know,
- 31:47so that, that kind of, I don't want to write
- 31:50off that when they, they went and got that wind,
- 31:51but right now they sit atop the NFC West, which
- 31:54is, you know, I want to say probably one of the
- 31:57better divisions in football in the last decade.
- 32:00Well right now. Go ahead. Go ahead. That's something
- 32:03they're saying. This season is very competitive.
- 32:05Super competitive. And those teams, you know,
- 32:08I kind of liken them to the NFC East where the
- 32:12teams are always so competitive against one another
- 32:14that they beat each other up and kind of make
- 32:17the records, you know, look a little mismatch.
- 32:20But the Seahawks are looking good. You know,
- 32:23right now they're six and two. They're, they're
- 32:25playing good enough football, but I mean, I just,
- 32:31I hate being negative Nancy, man. I hate being
- 32:32the downer. I just, I don't, I don't know what
- 32:36they're going to look like when the playoffs
- 32:38come. And there's so many other veteran teams
- 32:41that they're going to have to go up against that.
- 32:44I don't know if I, if I'm fully buying in on
- 32:47them, but right now they're doing what they need
- 32:48to do. How do you feel about them? I think they're
- 32:52a playoff team. Now again, I look at their schedule
- 32:56and I don't trust them Donald. I think he'll
- 32:58put up great numbers. I just don't trust them
- 33:01And so I look at their schedule. They have four
- 33:04more division games two against the Rams and
- 33:09they got the Cardinals and the Niners and then
- 33:11they also play at Carolina against the Minnesota
- 33:15and Then they're at Atlanta which Atlanta is
- 33:19a tricky one. That's they're always a trap game
- 33:21for everybody apparent nowadays But I'm going
- 33:24to circle this on the calendar because we talked
- 33:26about the Seahawks and we've talked about the
- 33:29Colts. We talked about Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold.
- 33:32They play Sunday, December 14th. So the battle
- 33:35of the backups that have revived their careers,
- 33:39the two teams, we'll see where they're at on
- 33:41December 14th. But I'm going to circle that.
- 33:44I'm interested to see, like, that could be a
- 33:46pivotal game for either team. Yeah, I got you
- 33:49know and I agree with you and you know looking
- 33:52at the schedule that was actually something that
- 33:53I missed I didn't realize that they'd get to
- 33:56actually play the Rams and they have to play
- 33:58them twice And much like we were talking about
- 34:01with with Kansas Kansas City having to go to
- 34:03Vegas to play Oakland in their last game Yeah,
- 34:06I don't care who it is. I don't care who their
- 34:08quarterback is The Seahawks are gonna have to
- 34:10end their season playing the 49ers in San Francisco
- 34:14It's gonna be a tough game no matter what another
- 34:16division game I like the way the the league has
- 34:19kind of you know staggered these records to where
- 34:21you get big games at the end and Who knows? I
- 34:24mean even if the if the 49ers are flailing and
- 34:26they've got nothing going on There's nothing
- 34:29that'll make that that team that franchise and
- 34:31that fan base happier than spoiling the Seahawks
- 34:34run to make a playoff appearance So, you know
- 34:38We'll have to see I'm circling that game You
- 34:40know, the end of the year is always fun, especially
- 34:42when teams are kind of out in front and maybe,
- 34:45you know, they have a nice little padded record
- 34:47and they start resting guys, you know, to go
- 34:49into the playoffs. I don't know if the Seahawks
- 34:51will be that good to where they'll be able to
- 34:53do that. They may have to play all the way through,
- 34:55but they better, they better watch their ass,
- 34:57man. Cause playing the 49ers, I can, I can see
- 34:59them taking an L that week. Well, the 49ers just,
- 35:02you mentioned though, they beat the Seahawks
- 35:04in week one, which that's a, that's week one,
- 35:06but they beat them at Seattle. So again the 49ers
- 35:10are no slouch all the injuries all that stuff
- 35:11Shanahan they'll have he'll have his team ready
- 35:13so that is a that is a huge game uh and and it
- 35:17could decide it could decide if the 49ers or
- 35:21the seahawks make the playoffs because again
- 35:23uh you know i still like the rams in that division
- 35:25but um but for seattle again like you said another
- 35:29team that i mean i don't know if it's real or
- 35:31not i don't trust sam darnold so you know It's
- 35:38not a lot of people who trust Sam Darnold. And
- 35:41just real quick, just to kind of rattle this
- 35:43off for the NFC West, the only team that's not
- 35:46really holding their own is the Cardinals. Seahawks
- 35:48six and two, Rams six and two, 49ers six and
- 35:51three. I mean, that's as neck and neck as you're
- 35:54going to get in a division that competitive.
- 35:56And like you said, you know, they've yet to play
- 35:59the Rams. So it's going to be fun, man. It's
- 36:01going to be a good, it's going to be a good close
- 36:02to the rest of the season. I'm actually, I'm
- 36:04actually really excited for it. I'm usually more
- 36:06excited for the beginning parts of the year,
- 36:08but, but, but for this season, man, yeah, it's
- 36:11going to be, it's going to be really good as,
- 36:13as teams kind of try to round out their wins
- 36:15and be competitive toward the end of the year.
- 36:18Yes. And, uh, so I got one more team. I put it
- 36:21on the list. We don't have it on this list, but
- 36:22can we talk about the Bengals? Sure. Yeah, go
- 36:26ahead. So I saw you. Hold on. Now, because you
- 36:30put it on there. And I think you were looking
- 36:33at this. And correct me if I'm wrong. You were
- 36:35looking at this from a coaching perspective.
- 36:37And you were kind of looking at their wins and
- 36:39losses. And I kind of know what you're getting
- 36:44at. But explain yourself, because I have a rebuttal.
- 36:47But I do want to hear what you got to say. So
- 36:50I've got a couple things. Two things. Two things.
- 36:55I got inside joke. So to bingles, I told you,
- 37:01I said, Zach Taylor, I think is officially on
- 37:04the hot seat list. I kept them off early because
- 37:08Joe Burrow got hurt. And then they had a divisional
- 37:13win against the Steelers. OK. But since then,
- 37:17they gave the they blew a game in which they
- 37:20gave the Jets their first win of the season.
- 37:25And then they managed this past Sunday to be
- 37:30up by 14. It was 41 to 27. They allowed the Bears
- 37:35to score and get a two point conversion. Then
- 37:39get, what was it? Or they, what was it? No, I'm
- 37:42sorry. They came back, right? No, they came back.
- 37:48All right, let's read. Yeah, they were down.
- 37:51Cut some of this out. Yeah. All right, so the
- 37:53Beagles end. So this game, last past Sunday against
- 37:55the Bears, they were down. They came back. They
- 37:58took the lead. I thought the game was over. We
- 38:03all did. So then they managed to give up a 58
- 38:10-yard touchdown in which neither safety knows
- 38:13how to tackle. And the Bears... They missed the
- 38:17tackle. They hit them. They don't wrap them up.
- 38:19Loveland, he goes all the way in for the touchdown.
- 38:21Bears win the game. Again, I know the players
- 38:26have to make the plays, but those are two bad
- 38:31losses. And again, we can't keep saying, well,
- 38:35the Bengals went to the Super Bowl. Yeah, but
- 38:38like, and our offense is good. Their defense
- 38:40is bad. Even in wins, their defense is bad. And
- 38:44on the flip side, I'm gonna let you, you know,
- 38:47reply to that. You know, I saw something, and
- 38:50I thought of this too. Is the offense just so
- 38:53good that you can just plug anybody at quarterback?
- 38:55Now, Jake Browning wasn't good, but Joe Flacco
- 38:59is doing just what Joe Burrow would be doing
- 39:01right now. So the offense, I don't think is the
- 39:04problem, unless you have somebody like, I guess,
- 39:06Jake Browning, who just turns the ball over.
- 39:09But they haven't fixed the defense. I don't know
- 39:13if it's the coaching, I don't know if it's the
- 39:15execution, but even in wins, they're giving up
- 39:17tons of yards, tons of points, and then now,
- 39:20again, blowing a lead to the Jets, a heck of
- 39:23a comeback, but already had given up 41 points
- 39:26to the Bears, and then give up that kind of touchdown
- 39:30to end the game, to let the Bears take the lead.
- 39:34It's just bad losses, and I don't know if I can
- 39:37keep, I didn't say for sure, I just don't know
- 39:39if I can keep defending Zach Taylor and say,
- 39:41Maybe it's just Tom. All right. So I like a team
- 39:50that can make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
- 39:57OK, so Burrow goes down early in the year. We
- 40:01write them off. We're like, man, it's over. It's
- 40:04going to be done for them. But when you talk
- 40:08about their defense, I understand that there's
- 40:12a lot that can be done from a coaching perspective
- 40:15on the defensive side of the ball, but sometimes
- 40:18you just don't have the players, you don't have
- 40:20the right guys, and it's just not going to work
- 40:22well for you. He got, he picked, you know, he
- 40:26made a trade for a veteran quarterback in Joe
- 40:29Flacco who was too long in the tooth. None of
- 40:31us really even paid any attention to us, to that
- 40:34trade when it was made. The trade was made and
- 40:36we all just went, eh, doesn't really matter too
- 40:39much. When the trade was made, the conversation
- 40:42was more about whether or not Shador Sanders
- 40:43was going to start for the Browns more than what
- 40:47Joe Flacco could do for the Bengals. And since
- 40:49then, all they've done is put up points. 42 points
- 40:53against the Bears, 38 points against the Jets.
- 40:56Like you said, 33 against the Steelers, 27 against
- 40:59the Packers. There's opportunities for them to
- 41:05be able to put up points and win games. We didn't
- 41:09expect any of that from them. If your defense
- 41:13is getting the doors blown off of them, maybe
- 41:16there's some of that that could be done, you
- 41:17know, having to do with the coach. But they're
- 41:20working with what they have. And I think they're
- 41:23doing as best as they can. And it's tough when
- 41:27you can't win close games. I get it. Losing to
- 41:29the Jets has to hurt. But, you know, still a
- 41:33division game is still a game that You know that
- 41:36the Jets are going to show up and try to be competitive
- 41:38in. So I want to give Zach Taylor a little bit
- 41:42of grace. I know it looks bad, and it's horrible
- 41:45on paper. And to win in that fashion and to let
- 41:48the Bears put up 47 points on you, I mean, it's
- 41:53a horrible look. But I'm not looking to run that
- 41:55dude out of town just yet. I'm not the guy that
- 41:58likes to kind of run and fire somebody that quick.
- 42:01OK. I can live with that. I'm just like said,
- 42:03I wanted to bring it to the forefront to say,
- 42:05hey, you know, maybe I don't know, he needs,
- 42:08he needs to be on the list though. Maybe at the
- 42:10bottom, but he needs to be on that list. And
- 42:12then, uh, you know, I know I threw some random
- 42:15stuff out there about the offense, but you know,
- 42:18Flacco is serviceable. And, uh, again, you give
- 42:21that man that those many weapons, I guess he
- 42:23can be an old looking Joe burrow out there just
- 42:26slinging it around. But the other thing I'm going
- 42:28to say is, I saw this today and I laughed. I
- 42:30didn't send it to you. And I didn't know what
- 42:33we were going to talk about, really. I didn't
- 42:34know if it was going to have the Bengals on here.
- 42:36But there was a great idea I saw online today.
- 42:40And it said, at this point, the Bengals offense
- 42:42and the Browns defense should come together to
- 42:45form one team from Ohio that would be the most
- 42:48dominant. Wow. And I think it's the greatest
- 42:52idea I've heard in a while. Yeah, no, it would
- 42:54be funny. And yeah, I mean, if you can put, yeah,
- 42:58I mean, because their Browns defense is legit,
- 43:00man. And you know, yes, they can't do it all.
- 43:02I mean, they can't play defense, stop teams from
- 43:04running, stop teams from throwing the ball all
- 43:06over them and score points. No, you know, so
- 43:08like their defense is so good. The Bengals offense
- 43:11is so good. But then on the other side, they
- 43:13suck something awful. Yeah, terrible. And let's
- 43:16combine them. Yeah, yeah. No, we can put them
- 43:19together. And yeah, I don't know. I don't know
- 43:20what we'll call them. I mean, we could come up
- 43:23with a nice, creative name. I'm trying my hardest
- 43:26to defend Zach Taylor I'm outnumbered probably
- 43:29because it is a terrible look especially two
- 43:31weeks in a row to two teams that they were that
- 43:34they should have beaten because they had the
- 43:36ability to score more points in them, but Realistically,
- 43:41I think it's gonna be over for Zach Taylor because
- 43:44here's here's their record in consecutive weeks
- 43:47their next game the Steelers the Patriots the
- 43:51Ravens the Bills and the Ravens again and that
- 43:56and that so that's their next five games they
- 44:00could go one and four they could go oh and five
- 44:03and i don't think that dude will make it to the
- 44:06end of the year losing those games and every
- 44:08single one of those teams are killers Steelers,
- 44:11Patriots, Ravens, Bills and then having to play
- 44:13the Ravens again with Lamar Jackson just being
- 44:15back looking healthy slinging that pill around
- 44:19Derrick Henry, still a monster. Like it's going
- 44:21to be ugly for them. You got to play the Ravens
- 44:23twice and you got to pay the bills at home. It
- 44:27could get real ugly for Zach Taylor. And if he's
- 44:29lucky, if he could, if he could be 500, you know,
- 44:33going through the rest of the year, maybe he'll
- 44:34be lucky enough to save his job. Yeah, I think
- 44:37it makes it through the rest of the year, but
- 44:38on off season, they're going to have to think
- 44:40things. All right, you guys know we like to end
- 44:51our show with something fun something silly and
- 44:53you know Just something that we can have some
- 44:54fun with and you know, so this past NFL week,
- 44:58you know Just watching all the games a lot of
- 45:00great games a lot of great matchups and there
- 45:02were just some games that just seemed really
- 45:04boring to me I think that you know, the game
- 45:07of the week was between the you know, the Bills
- 45:09and the Chiefs, you know Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes
- 45:11they've had that rivalry for years and It's just
- 45:14something about that game that was born as hell
- 45:16man. Like so the Bills were doing this thing
- 45:19I think they call it a tush push. I don't know
- 45:24if you heard of it, but it's this thing where
- 45:26everyone rushes up to the line and you hand the
- 45:30ball off and then you just kind of just push
- 45:31the ball forward. Super boring, you know, it's
- 45:34a dangerous play, you know, it's high risk of
- 45:36injuries and you know I think it's something
- 45:39that the league should really look into if I'm
- 45:42not mistaken I think Drew Brees has something
- 45:43early in the year about how you know It's just
- 45:45a boring type of offense and you know We saw
- 45:47it there were there some other teams that stood
- 45:49out to you who did something similar like to
- 45:51that this weekend Yeah, you said the Bills they
- 45:54use Josh Allen. I saw the Seahawks. They use
- 45:57the tight end in any of these times. Did you?
- 46:00Did you happen to see like any false starts called
- 46:02or was there any? No, I didn't see any false
- 46:05starts. I mean, I just saw that the lines would
- 46:09get up. They would get up to the line and get
- 46:10really low. And the first thing I was thinking
- 46:13about was just the danger and the safety of the
- 46:15players. I think this is important. I know the
- 46:18NFL, they got real big on the concussions and
- 46:21just trying to prevent injuries. They changed
- 46:23the entire kickoff structure. They just want
- 46:25to make sure that players stay safe throughout
- 46:27the rest of the season. So yeah, I mean, that's
- 46:30the first thing that kind of stood out to me.
- 46:32I think it's something that - they should be
- 46:33looked into. Yeah, I think there was more teams.
- 46:36I didn't see every game and see every highlight,
- 46:38but I heard, you know, I saw that was like it
- 46:41was a lot. It was a lot of tush pushing going
- 46:43on Sunday and they're like you said, safety is
- 46:45huge and I just can't see why the league would
- 46:48let this continue the whole league doing this.
- 46:51And then also, you know, it's illegal if they're
- 46:53going to be offsides or false starts. I don't
- 46:56know. Was it like the commentators say anything?
- 46:59Did the other defenses get mad to date like?
- 47:02you know, start yelling and crying and stuff?
- 47:04No, I didn't see any of that. And I mean, look,
- 47:07man, I'm I'm a down to earth guy. I like to call
- 47:11things as I see it. And I think what's most important
- 47:14is that we do our best to make sure that in the
- 47:17off season, that all the NFL teams get together
- 47:20and vote on whether or not this should be something
- 47:22that's ruled out of the game. I think they should
- 47:25make this something illegal so that it never
- 47:27takes place again. I think it gives the teams
- 47:29an unfair advantage. And I don't know if anybody's
- 47:33picking up on all of our sarcasm. It's complete
- 47:38bullshit that all these other teams could do
- 47:40the touch push, you know, and no one bats an
- 47:43eye No one says anything. I didn't see anybody,
- 47:45you know uh, uh, calling, calling when other
- 47:48teams do it boring and you know, the, the percentage
- 47:51of plays that they do it, they need to pick up
- 47:53a yard. They do it. They need to do to pick up
- 47:55a yard. The Eagles came up with the tush push.
- 47:57It was a great idea. It worked for them. Now
- 48:00other teams are emulating it and now it's crickets
- 48:03across, you know, sports coverage everywhere,
- 48:05all over TV, all over internet, all over radio
- 48:08and all over podcasts and except right here,
- 48:11we don't call that shit out. Cause I don't like
- 48:13it. Yeah, nobody, you know, I heard the commentators,
- 48:15they would like jokingly say, oh, that's their
- 48:18version of the tush push. There was no zooming
- 48:20in cameras on the offensive line about false
- 48:22starts. ESPN wasn't talking about forward progress.
- 48:25They weren't leading off this morning with tush
- 48:28pushing. So again, I'm glad I'm glad the rest
- 48:32of the league can finally do what they could
- 48:34have been doing for the last five years. Yeah,
- 48:37yeah same here and you know and this was something
- 48:40that we talked about I think was one of our first
- 48:42episodes we ever did where we were talking about
- 48:44just how all these different teams Had the opportunity
- 48:48in the offseason if they thought that this was
- 48:50something that could work to their benefit They
- 48:53had a chance to come up with their own version
- 48:55and renditions of it You know it took until the
- 48:57middle of the season for them to figure it out
- 48:59You know good for them if it works for them great.
- 49:02Maybe some of them only use it in certain situations
- 49:05before the Eagles has been effective for what?
- 49:07Almost three years now? Oh, three, four years.
- 49:11I mean, four years. Yes, I'm saying like we're
- 49:13like four and a half years and now finally NFL
- 49:15teams are doing it. And again, like I said, you
- 49:18know, in all season, let's see if they all these
- 49:21teams that are using it will vote against it.
- 49:24Yeah, yeah, we'll see. You know, but again, I'm
- 49:27going to give and I gave credit. to the teams
- 49:29i think we actually rattled them off when we
- 49:31talked about it last the teams that voted say
- 49:34no no no no no let's leave this in we're not
- 49:36going to vote against the touch which is why
- 49:38it was able to be you know uh... still still
- 49:41play that can still be ran in the league it was
- 49:43not voted against but you know it's just kind
- 49:46of funny and i think i might need to go back
- 49:47and check that list to see if any of the teams
- 49:49who who decided to do it Yeah, you know over
- 49:52over the weekend over the last few weekends if
- 49:54any of those teams actually voted against it
- 49:56You know, I love pointing out a hypocrite man.
- 49:59I love pointing that shit out Yeah, so again.
- 50:02Yeah, so today we had fun with the topic being
- 50:05fun and sarcastic On this tush push topic. Yeah,
- 50:09but of course, I mean, I don't want to see it
- 50:11outlawed It's it's a play. You know, it's a play
- 50:14that works. That's effective Any team can do
- 50:16it. Every team's got big guys on it. Every team's
- 50:19got stud athletes. Figure out how you're going
- 50:22to do it. I mean, you've got tape on it for years.
- 50:25You've seen the Eagles do it successfully. And
- 50:28I mean, and if it's done well, you don't need
- 50:30a quarterback like Jalen Hurst that can squat
- 50:32700 pounds to do it. It helps, but yeah. I'm
- 50:36pretty sure, I'm pretty sure the guys, you know,
- 50:38all the quarterbacks except, you know, maybe
- 50:40the smaller ones or have a good enough size and
- 50:42have got a big enough O line to where they can
- 50:44push a ball forward and pick up one yard. Yeah.
- 50:47Yeah. No tush pushing Jaden Daniels. No, not
- 50:50at all. We don't, we don't want him to, you know,
- 50:52snap in half. No, no, you're right. Like I said,
- 50:57no tush pushing him. No, no tush push with Jaden
- 51:00Daniels or Calamari. No, Jaden Daniels has got
- 51:04to double up on that chunky suit. Yeah, he's
- 51:06gonna have to, man. I mean, he's shockingly thin.
- 51:11And I'll end on this, man. Again, and I asked
- 51:13a question earlier and I was thinking here, man,
- 51:14I was racking my brain. NFL history, as long
- 51:17as you've been watching football your whole life,
- 51:19dude, can you remember a quarterback that thin?
- 51:25No, I mean, I cannot. I can remember the thick
- 51:30quarterbacks. No, no, I mean, like, I mean, like,
- 51:33there's, there's long thin coin, cause like Brady
- 51:36wasn't a big guy. He wasn't that skinny. I think
- 51:39I brought up Mariota. Um, you know, he wasn't
- 51:42that skinny. Brady at the combine looks skinny,
- 51:46look frail, but not this for, I mean, like I
- 51:48said, Jayden Daniels is an athlete, obviously
- 51:50very good and obviously has proven himself. But
- 51:54like we said, looking at his frame, like I said,
- 51:55he is skinny. Like we talk about, I think Bryce
- 51:57Young is still small. Not just short, I think
- 52:01he's short and frail. But again, he competes,
- 52:04he takes hits, and you just never know which
- 52:07hit's gonna do it. But the thing about that is,
- 52:10and I can't really think of another quarterback
- 52:12that's then this skinny, but the only thing I
- 52:16think about, you know, the other thing I think
- 52:17about is the big quarterbacks that take a beating.
- 52:20We talked about it on another episode. These
- 52:22big quarterbacks in history have taken hits,
- 52:25and their lifespan in the NFL is short. So again,
- 52:30it's like these these skinny quarterbacks. What
- 52:32do you expect? You know? Gotcha. Yeah, you know
- 52:35and and I'm and I'm just going back and I'm just
- 52:37looking at some of the some of the quarterbacks
- 52:40on On the list of just kind of thin There's one
- 52:44that kind of stands out to me because I don't
- 52:46remember him being thin coming out of Louisville
- 52:48but Apparently Teddy Bridgewater was pretty thin.
- 52:52Okay you know and and i and i don't remember
- 52:55that now of course he bulked up and that dude
- 52:56put on weight like i don't think anybody would
- 52:58call him thin now but you know apparently when
- 53:01he went through the combine he was rated on the
- 53:03thin side and i mean i i maybe i have to go back
- 53:07and look at the photos nothing in comparison
- 53:09to what jaden daniels is like it's scary how
- 53:11frail he looks you know who has a starting nfl
- 53:14quarterback you know who else was skinny uh kind
- 53:17of not he wasn't frail but randall cunningham
- 53:19was kind of that lanky But he got injuries too,
- 53:25so not to just call it an eagle there, but I
- 53:27think Randall looked kind of skinny at times.
- 53:30They wore more pads back then. Not to sound like
- 53:33an old man, but again, nowadays, they barely
- 53:36wear pads in their pants and their shoulder pads
- 53:38are so little. So I mean, there's no wonder there's
- 53:41so many injuries. All right, that's another episode
