- 0:04Now, one of the things I want to discuss today as well, talking
- 0:08about Free Speech, this story came up and it's what happened
- 0:11in New Zealand. A couple of days ago, leaves me
- 0:14speechless at this kind of thing can happen in New Zealand, but
- 0:16really we've seen the decay of of democracy in New Zealand over
- 0:21the last couple of years. And I lay the blame squarely at
- 0:24the feet of their prime minister, just into our Dune.
- 0:27I don't think she's a good leader, okay?
- 0:30And but, hey, as I've said before, is in another episode,
- 0:33there is no coincidence that she is also being a part of the
- 0:37Klaus Schwab School of school of leaders can remember, was called
- 0:44though. I've done another episode.
- 0:46I'll put a link up for that in the description here.
- 0:48I didn't episode of that late last year about about people,
- 0:52who've attended the Klaus Schwab School of leadership and she was
- 0:57being a part of that. And it's no coincidence that she
- 0:59After taking that is, now, is another prime minister of New
- 1:04Zealand. And I don't think she's a good,
- 1:06a good advocate for for real democracy.
- 1:09Like she's just a dictator in Disguise.
- 1:12Anyway, this headline comes from the guardian and says the New
- 1:15Zealand's. Former deputy prime minister has
- 1:18been banned from Parliament for visiting anti-vaccine, mandate
- 1:23protest. So if you remember, if you might
- 1:27have seen on news, there was a big protest going on in New
- 1:29Zealand. Zealand and near their
- 1:31Parliament for a long attacking is actually on their Parliament
- 1:34grounds for quite a long period. So the article goes on to say
- 1:37that. So the former deputy prime
- 1:39minister Winston Peters has been banned from Parliament grounds
- 1:43for two years. For visiting anti-vaccine
- 1:47mandate protesters, who occupied the grounds.
- 1:51The weeks-long February protests which are modeled on the
- 1:55Canadian truckers Freedom Convoy.
- 1:57They took over Parliament grounds and blocked off a number
- 2:00of surrounding streets. In the days of the occupation
- 2:04speaker issued a trespass. Notice to all attendees, but
- 2:08efforts by please disperse, the Gathering were repeatedly
- 2:11repelled until it's ended into a violent Riot with at least 40
- 2:15injured, while tense, piles of rubble and a playground were set
- 2:19flame. So, L it was Deputy Prime
- 2:22Minister in adjusting the audience first coalition.
- 2:25Government had visited the occupation in its early days and
- 2:30he was saying I hope to encourage the protesters to
- 2:34demand that, they be heard. So Peters on Tuesday, said, he
- 2:38had received a two-year trespass.
- 2:40Notice for that. Visit blaming house Speaker,
- 2:44Trevor Mallard for the decision, he is quoted.
- 2:48But as saying at this state Peters is quoted as saying this
- 2:54dictate. Toriel Behavior should be
- 2:56reserved for third-world banana. Republics in a statement quoted
- 3:01by news Hub, what's more astounding?
- 3:04Is that the Speaker of the House of Representatives in our
- 3:06country could possibly attempt to trespass, former members of
- 3:10parliament of whom some, our leaders of political parties
- 3:14planning to run against the sitting government in another 18
- 3:18months time. So in there was there's a
- 3:20difference between Those have visited the precinct and those
- 3:23who took on active part in the protest he added which it seems
- 3:28that. That's all he did.
- 3:29He went there and just visits to the precinct, the voiced, his
- 3:34support for these people, okay? And everyone should be allowed
- 3:39to voice your support. Voice your opinion on these
- 3:42things. So Peters, lost his
- 3:45parliamentary spot after his party failed to win, five
- 3:47percent of the votes but says he intends to run in the next
- 3:50election. So, he's not the only one to
- 3:53receive trespass. Notice X National Party, MP math
- 3:56King, who also plans to run in the next New Zealand election.
- 4:00With the newly formed democracy NZ party.
- 4:03He's received the notice in late April violation, of the notices
- 4:07could result in a fine of up to one thousand dollars or up to
- 4:11three months. Three months, imprisonment.
- 4:15Wow. For attending for attending a
- 4:18protest. How ridiculous is that?
- 4:21So in New Zealand, the speaker had responsibility for
- 4:24parliament's grounds and buildings.
- 4:26Mallard gender generated headlines for his unusual.
- 4:29Tactics in trying, to evict the protesters from the lon,
- 4:33including turning on the sprinklers and Blasting very
- 4:35mellow lasting Barry Manilow from parliament's loudspeakers
- 4:41often. Those tactics appeared backfire
- 4:44galvanizing rather than discouraging the crowds So doing
- 4:48a z prime minister Cinder at the end.
- 4:52She's told stuff to news article over there.
- 4:55So prime minister just ended a journalist old stuff, which is
- 5:00am media outlet that the decision rested with Melody.
- 5:04But she had asked that he discussed the decision with all
- 5:07parties to try to reach consensus.
- 5:10Ultimately this does suit with the speaker, but I think it is
- 5:13useful. This is just into the doing
- 5:15speaking quoting her. You're saying, but I think is
- 5:18useful for parties to be able to hear him out about how he came
- 5:22to the decision and to make a joint decision as much as
- 5:25they're able to about whether or not MPS should ultimately be
- 5:29treated differently than everyone else.
- 5:31Millard did not respond to requests for comment.
- 5:35Okay, so first off there is no condemnation coming from our
- 5:38dough cheese stated that she just asked him to discuss it
- 5:43with other with the rest of the political parties there in New
- 5:46Zealand. It does seem that this is just a
- 5:50blatant attack on the freedom of speech, a blatant attack on
- 5:55freedom of opinion. You cannot even go and support
- 5:59people who would think differently?
- 6:02How dare you think differently than what the Prime Minister
- 6:05would want you to think how dare you stand up and voice your
- 6:09opinion on the mandates? And dare you not go along with
- 6:14these decisions that she has made.
- 6:17The mandates that she is brought in.
- 6:20And enforced. How dare you stand up for your
- 6:23rights in the country and you will be banned from Parliament.
- 6:28Which, in my mind Parliament is open Parliament, has been paid
- 6:32for by the public New Zealand's, not that different from
- 6:35Australia. Okay?
- 6:38Parliament. The Parliament building the
- 6:40grounds they're publicly funded, they're not a private entity,
- 6:44just Cinder a Dern or this mallard.
- 6:47They might be in charge, he might be in charge and make the
- 6:50rules. But as Public Funding, that
- 6:53brought about this, the construction of the building
- 6:56these grounds, the upkeep of the grounds, that's all Public
- 6:59Funding taxpayer money and to be able to ban people, to be able
- 7:04to be in MPS to be able to be in a former deputy prime minister
- 7:11because they have voiced their opinion because their voice
- 7:13their support because they are standing up for free speech
- 7:16because They're standing up for freedom of thought because they
- 7:19are standing up for their constituents that's despicable.
- 7:24And we are seeing the constant erosion of free speech, the
- 7:28constant erosion of free thought.
- 7:31If you do not go along with what the government says, with
- 7:35thought the government dictates, well, this is, they are falling
- 7:39into a Banana Republic. Dare, I say it.
- 7:43A police state. New Zealand and Australia both
- 7:47running, absolutely running towards becoming a police state.
- 7:52We need to be on guard against these kinds of attacks on our
- 7:56democracies and not allow them to.
- 7:58Just be swept under the carpet. Keep putting them in the
- 8:01spotlight, keep putting the dictators, like just into a Dern
- 8:06under the spotlight. Keep questioning her actions,
- 8:09her behaviors, keep looking at her, her past and questioning
- 8:15How she got into how she got into Power?
- 8:17What is it about her past that got her there.
- 8:20What is it about? Her connection with Klaus
- 8:22Schwab. What is it about their disdain
- 8:25for free speech? Or their disdain for anyone?
- 8:28That would argue against the way they think and against the
- 8:31things that they want? Why is it that these people make
- 8:36these mandates then do and they do not want anyone to argue
- 8:40against it. You're not allowed to have your
- 8:42own opinion, that is not a free. Speech.
- 8:45That is not a free nation, that is not democracy.
- 8:48We are on the ultimate slippery slope and as I keep saying, we
- 8:52need to keep our politicians honest.
- 8:57We need to keep the pressure on and questioning me.
- 9:00We need to keep them honest. That's my opinion fight for free
- 9:07speech. This country is only free
- 9:10because people have shed Blood, Sweat, and Tears to help make it
- 9:17so. So do not discard the pain and
- 9:21the effort that people have gone through so that we can have a
- 9:25free Nation. Do not discard card that we need
- 9:28to stand up for our right of speech, at, right of free
- 9:31thought and hold our politicians accountable for their actions.
- 9:36That's my opinion. Thank you for listening to the
- 9:39slippery slope.
