- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter seven, Christna learn now, dear Prince, how if thy
- 0:06Speaker 1: soul be set ever on me, still exercising you, still
- 0:11Speaker 1: making me thy refuge, thou shalt come most surely unto
- 0:15Speaker 1: perfect hold of me. I'll declare to thee that utmost low,
- 0:19Speaker 1: whole and particular, which, when thou know'st leaveth no more
- 0:24Speaker 1: to know. Here in this world of many thousand mortals,
- 0:28Speaker 1: one perchance striveth for truth. And of those few that
- 0:31Speaker 1: strive nay and rise high, one only here and there
- 0:35Speaker 1: knoweth me as I am the very truth, earth, water, flame,
- 0:39Speaker 1: e'er either life and mind. And individually those eight make
- 0:43Speaker 1: up the showing of me manifest. These be my lower nature,
- 0:48Speaker 1: learn the higher. Whereby thou valiant one his universities, by
- 0:53Speaker 1: its principle of life produced, whereby the worlds of visible
- 0:57Speaker 1: things are born as from a yone. No I am
- 1:00Speaker 1: that womb I make, and I unmake this universe than me.
- 1:05Speaker 1: There is no other master, Prince, no other maker. All
- 1:09Speaker 1: these hang on me as hangs a row of pearlse
- 1:12Speaker 1: upon its string. I am the fresh taste of the water.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I the silver of the moon, the gold of the sun,
- 1:18Speaker 1: the world of worship in the waves, the thrill that
- 1:21Speaker 1: passeth in the ether, and the strength of a man's
- 1:23Speaker 1: shed seed. I am the good, sweet smell of the
- 1:26Speaker 1: moist in the earth. I am the fire's red light,
- 1:29Speaker 1: the htal air moving in all which moves, the holiness
- 1:32Speaker 1: of hollowed souls, the root un dying whence hath sprung wateries,
- 1:37Speaker 1: the wisdom of the wise, the intellect of the informed,
- 1:40Speaker 1: the greatness of the great, the splendor of the splendid
- 1:43Speaker 1: Kunti's son. These am I free from passion and desire.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yet am I right desire in all who yearn chief
- 1:52Speaker 1: of the Barathas. For all those moods sooth, fast, or
- 1:55Speaker 1: passionate or ignorant, which nature frames deduce from me. But
- 2:00Speaker 1: all are merged in me, not I in them. The
- 2:03Speaker 1: world deceived by those three qualities of being wotteth not me,
- 2:08Speaker 1: who am outside them, all above them, all eternal. Hard
- 2:13Speaker 1: it is to pierce that veil divine of various shows,
- 2:15Speaker 1: which hideth me. Yet they who worship me pierce it
- 2:19Speaker 1: and pass beyond. I am not known to evil doers,
- 2:23Speaker 1: nor to foolish ones, nor to the base and churlish,
- 2:27Speaker 1: nor to those whose mind is cheated by the show
- 2:30Speaker 1: of things, nor those that take the way of asuras.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Four sorts of mortals know me he who weeps Arjuna,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and the man who yearns to know, and he who
- 2:42Speaker 1: toils to help, and he who sits certain of me
- 2:45Speaker 1: ENLiGHT hand. Of these four O Prince of India, highest
- 2:50Speaker 1: nearest best. That last is the duo's soul, wise intent
- 2:55Speaker 1: upon the one dear above all. Am I to him,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and he is dearest unto me. All for our good
- 3:03Speaker 1: and seek me but mine, O, the true of heart.
- 3:07Speaker 1: The faithful stayed on me, taking me as their utmost blessedness.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They are not mine, but I even eye myself art
- 3:16Speaker 1: end of many births to me they come, yet heart,
- 3:19Speaker 1: the wise Mahatma is to find that man who saith
- 3:24Speaker 1: always was there. There be those two whose knowledge turned
- 3:29Speaker 1: aside by this desire or that gives them to serve
- 3:33Speaker 1: some lower gods with various rights, constrained by that which
- 3:37Speaker 1: molded them unto all such worship. What shrine they will,
- 3:41Speaker 1: what shapes in faith? It's I who give them faith.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I am content the heart thus asking favor from its
- 3:48Speaker 1: god darkened but ardent hath the end it craves the
- 3:53Speaker 1: lesser blessing. But it's I who give. Yet soon is withered.
- 3:58Speaker 1: What small fruit they read? Those men of little minds
- 4:02Speaker 1: who worship, so go where they worshiped, passing with their guards.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But mind come unto me blind, or the eyes which
- 4:10Speaker 1: deemed unmanifested, manifest, not comprehending me in my true self, imperishable, ruseless, undeclared,
- 4:19Speaker 1: hidden behind my magic veil of shows I am not
- 4:22Speaker 1: seen by all. I am not known, unborn and changeless
- 4:27Speaker 1: to the idle world. But I Arjuna, know all things
- 4:32Speaker 1: which were, and all which are, and all which are
- 4:34Speaker 1: to be. Albeit not one among them knoweth me by passion,
- 4:40Speaker 1: for the pass of opposites, by those trains, snaps of
- 4:44Speaker 1: like and dislike. Prince, all creatures bewildered, save some few
- 4:50Speaker 1: who quit of sins, wholly enact, informed, freed from the opposites,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and fixed in faith. Clay one to me who p
- 4:59Speaker 1: who seek in me, refuse from birth and death. Those
- 5:02Speaker 1: have the truth loose know me, Romma, know me, soul
- 5:06Speaker 1: of souls, the Adyatman, no karma my work. No. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: am Ah the Buddha, lord of life, and Ah the Deva,
- 5:17Speaker 1: lord of all the gods and Ah, the Yegna, Lord
- 5:21Speaker 1: of Sacrifice, Worship me well with hearts of love and faith,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and find and hold me in the hour of death.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Here in the chapter seven
