  I

• 0:46
  myself
• 0:47
  I
• 0:47
  won't
• 0:47
  overspend,

• 0:55
  It's
• 0:55
  that
• 0:56
  fear
• 0:56
  of
• 0:56
  missing
• 0:56
  out,
• 0:56
  isn't
• 0:57
  it?
• 0:57
  You
• 0:57
  might
• 0:57
  be
• 0:58
  feeling
• 0:58
  it
• 0:58
  too.
• 0:58
  And
• 0:59
  overspending.
• 1:00
  Guilty
• 1:00
  as
• 1:00
  charged.
• 1:01
  I've
• 1:01
  done
• 1:01
  that
• 1:01
  way
• 1:02
  too
• 1:02
  many
• 1:02
  times.
• 1:02
  Social
• 1:02
  media
• 1:03
  just
• 1:03
  pulls
• 1:03
  you
• 1:03
  into
• 1:04
  that
• 1:04
  and
• 1:04
  it
• 1:04
  just
• 1:04
  sucks
• 1:04
  you
• 1:05
  in
• 1:05
  like
• 1:05
  you
• 1:05
  gotta
• 1:05
  have
• 1:05
  it.
• 1:07
  The
• 1:07
  truth
• 1:07
  is
• 1:07
  holiday
• 1:08
  shopping
• 1:08
  is
• 1:08
  both
• 1:09
  exciting,
• 1:09
  but
• 1:10
  it
• 1:10
  can
• 1:10
  be
• 1:10
  dangerous.
• 1:11
  And
• 1:11
  the
• 1:12
  truth
• 1:12
  is
• 1:12
  stores
• 1:12
  are
• 1:13
  built
• 1:13
  to
• 1:13
  make
• 1:13
  you
• 1:13
  overspend.
• 1:14
  These
• 1:14
  social
• 1:15
  media
• 1:15
  giants
• 1:16
  are
• 1:16
  designed
• 1:17
  to
• 1:17
  help
• 1:17
  you
• 1:17
  or
• 1:18
  to
• 1:18
  make
• 1:18
  you
• 1:18
  overspend,
• 1:20
  but
• 1:20
  with
• 1:20
  a
• 1:20
  plan.
• 1:21
  And
• 1:21
  that's
• 1:21
  what
• 1:21
  we're
• 1:21
  going
• 1:21
  to
• 1:21
  talk
• 1:21
  about
• 1:22
  on
• 1:22
  today's
• 1:22
  show.
• 1:22
  You
• 1:23
  can

• 1:23
  the

  script
• 1:23
  and
• 1:24
  win
• 1:24
  the

• 1:26
  This

  faith
• 1:32

  to

  you

  the

  financial

• 1:38
  Welcome
• 1:38
  to
• 1:38
  the
• 1:39
  show.
• 1:39
  I'm
• 1:39
  Ralph.
• 1:40
  This
• 1:40
  is
• 1:40
  your
• 1:40
  daily
• 1:41
  show
• 1:41
  that
• 1:41
  helps
• 1:41
  you
• 1:41
  break
• 1:42
  that
• 1:42
  cycle
• 1:42
  of
• 1:42
  financial
• 1:43
  shame
• 1:43
  with
• 1:43
  confidence.
• 1:44
  And
• 1:44
  we're
• 1:45
  continuing
• 1:45
  our
• 1:45
  series
• 1:46
  trying
• 1:46
  not
• 1:46
  to
• 1:46
  go
• 1:47
  into
• 1:47
  debt
• 1:47
  during
• 1:47
  the
• 1:47
  holidays.
• 1:48
  And
• 1:48
  today
• 1:48
  we're
• 1:49
  going
• 1:49
  to
• 1:49
  jump
• 1:49
  into
• 1:50
  how
• 1:50
  to
• 1:50
  avoid
• 1:50
  that
• 1:51
  trap
• 1:51
  of
• 1:51
  overspending.
• 1:53
  And
• 1:53
  Abby,
• 1:53
  my
• 1:53
  producer,
• 1:54
  put
• 1:54
  together
• 1:54
  some
• 1:54
  statistics
• 1:55
  for
• 1:55
  us
• 1:55
  today.
• 1:55
  And
• 1:56
  these
• 1:56
  are
• 1:56
  just
• 1:56
  fascinating
• 1:57
  to
• 1:57
  me.
• 1:57
  Did
• 1:58
  you
• 1:58
  know
• 1:58
  this?
• 1:59
  Americans
• 2:00
  have
• 2:01
  $1.2
• 2:02
  trillion
• 2:03
  in
• 2:03
  credit
• 2:03
  card
• 2:04
  debt?
• 2:04
  That
• 2:05
  is
• 2:05
  a
• 2:05
  staggering
• 2:06
  number.
• 2:07
  If
• 2:07
  you're
• 2:07
  like
• 2:07
  most
• 2:07
  people,
• 2:08
  you
• 2:09
  own
• 2:09
  a
• 2:09
  portion
• 2:09
  of
• 2:09
  that.
• 2:10
  I
• 2:10
  know
• 2:10
  at
• 2:11
  times
• 2:11
  I've
• 2:11
  certainly
• 2:11
  owned
• 2:11
  a
• 2:12
  portion
• 2:12
  of
• 2:12
  that.
• 2:13
  Listen
• 2:13
  to
• 2:13
  this
• 2:13
  statistic.
• 2:14
  This
• 2:14
  one
• 2:14
  rocked
• 2:15
  my
• 2:15
  world.
• 2:16
  83%
• 2:17
  of
• 2:17
  Americans
• 2:18
  say
• 2:18
  they
• 2:18
  overspend
• 2:19
  at
• 2:19
  least
• 2:19
  sometimes.
• 2:20
  Listen,
• 2:20
  I'm
• 2:20
  right
• 2:20
  there
• 2:21
  with
• 2:21
  them.
• 2:21
  Raise
• 2:21
  my
• 2:22
  hand.
• 2:22
  Guilty
• 2:22
  as
• 2:22
  charged.
• 2:24
  But
• 2:24
  they
• 2:24
  then
• 2:24
  we
• 2:25
  asked
• 2:25
  ourselves,
• 2:25
  what
• 2:25
  is
• 2:26
  the
• 2:26
  main
• 2:26
  reason
• 2:26
  people
• 2:27
  overspend?
• 2:28
  Really?
• 2:28
  Two
• 2:29
  things
• 2:29
  we
• 2:29
  found.
• 2:30
  Inflation,
• 2:31
  costs
• 2:31
  are
• 2:31
  going
• 2:31
  up
• 2:32
  and
• 2:32
  the
• 2:32
  rising
• 2:33
  cost
• 2:33
  of
• 2:33
  living.
• 2:34
  And
• 2:34
  it's
• 2:34
  pushing
• 2:35
  people
• 2:35
  to
• 2:35
  spend
• 2:35
  more
• 2:35
  than
• 2:36
  they
• 2:36
  intended.
• 2:37
  And
• 2:37
  this
• 2:37
  is
• 2:37
  a
• 2:37
  quote
• 2:38
  from
• 2:38
  Dave
• 2:38
  Ramsey,
• 2:38
  another
• 2:39
  financial
• 2:39
  guru.
• 2:39
  Him
• 2:40
  and
• 2:40
  I
• 2:40
  don't
• 2:40
  always
• 2:40
  see
• 2:40
  eye
• 2:41
  to
• 2:41
  eye,
• 2:41
  but
• 2:41
  I
• 2:41
  am
• 2:42
  100%
• 2:42
  in
• 2:43
  the
• 2:43
  same
• 2:43
  court
• 2:44
  as
• 2:44
  him.
• 2:44
  And
• 2:44
  when
• 2:44
  he
• 2:44
  says
• 2:44
  this,
• 2:45
  he
• 2:45
  says
• 2:45
  if
• 2:45
  you
• 2:45
  don't
• 2:45
  tell
• 2:46
  your
• 2:46
  money
• 2:46
  where
• 2:46
  to
• 2:46
  go,
• 2:47
  it
• 2:47
  will
• 2:48
  decide
• 2:48
  for
• 2:48
  you.
• 2:48
  Yeah,
• 2:49
  that
• 2:49
  thing
• 2:49
  will
• 2:49
  have
• 2:49
  a
• 2:49
  map
• 2:50
  of
• 2:50
  its
• 2:50
  own
• 2:50
  and
• 2:50
  it's
• 2:51
  going
• 2:51
  to
• 2:51
  take
• 2:51
  you
• 2:51
  in
• 2:51
  a
• 2:51
  direction
• 2:52
  you
• 2:52
  might
• 2:52
  not
• 2:52
  agree
• 2:52
  with.
• 2:53
  So
• 2:53
  it's
• 2:54
  all
• 2:54
  about
• 2:54
  having
• 2:54
  that
• 2:54
  plan.
• 2:55
  So
• 2:55
  let's
• 2:55
  get
• 2:55
  back
• 2:55
  to
• 2:55
  our
• 2:56
  question
• 2:56
  today.
• 2:57
  And
• 2:57
  that's
• 2:57
  Ralph,
• 2:58
  how
• 2:58
  do
• 2:58
  I
• 2:58
  shop
• 2:58
  smarter
• 2:59
  this
• 2:59
  season
• 3:00
  without
• 3:00
  missing
• 3:00
  out?
• 3:01
  Well,
• 3:02
  I've
• 3:02
  got
• 3:02
  some
• 3:02
  great
• 3:02
  ideas.
• 3:03
  What
• 3:03
  I'm
• 3:03
  going
• 3:03
  to
• 3:03
  call
• 3:03
  my
• 3:04
  smart
• 3:04
  shopping
• 3:04
  ideas
• 3:05
  for
• 3:05
  today.
• 3:05
  Number
• 3:05
  one
• 3:06
  thing,
• 3:06
  a
• 3:07
  lot
• 3:07
  of
• 3:07
  people
• 3:07
  don't
• 3:07
  do
• 3:07
  this,
• 3:08
  but
• 3:08
  I'm
• 3:08
  going
• 3:08
  to
• 3:08
  tell
• 3:09
  you,
• 3:09
  lean
• 3:09
  into
• 3:09
  this
• 3:09
  one.
• 3:10
  Make
• 3:10
  a
• 3:10
  list.
• 3:11
  Go
• 3:11
  and
• 3:11
  get
• 3:11
  a
• 3:12
  piece
• 3:12
  of
• 3:12
  paper
• 3:12
  and
• 3:12
  a
• 3:12
  pen
• 3:13
  or
• 3:13
  do
• 3:13
  it
• 3:13
  right
• 3:13
  on
• 3:13
  your
• 3:13
  phone.
• 3:14
  Start
• 3:14
  with
• 3:14
  the
• 3:14
  names
• 3:15
  of
• 3:15
  the
• 3:15
  people
• 3:15
  you
• 3:15
  want
• 3:15
  to
• 3:16
  buy
• 3:16
  for.
• 3:16
  Just
• 3:17
  put
• 3:17
  them
• 3:17
  all
• 3:17
  down.
• 3:17
  Here's
• 3:18
  all
• 3:18
  the
• 3:18
  people
• 3:18
  I
• 3:18
  got
• 3:18
  to
• 3:19
  buy
• 3:19
  for.
• 3:19
  Because
• 3:19
  when
• 3:19
  you
• 3:19
  see
• 3:19
  it,
• 3:20
  then
• 3:20
  you
• 3:20
  can
• 3:21
  plan
• 3:21
  for
• 3:21
  that.
• 3:22
  And
• 3:22
  right
• 3:22
  next
• 3:22
  to
• 3:22
  their
• 3:23
  name.
• 3:23
  Now,
• 3:23
  this
• 3:23
  may
• 3:23
  sound
• 3:24
  like
• 3:24
  you're
• 3:24
  being
• 3:24
  a
• 3:24
  little
• 3:25
  judgmental,
• 3:25
  but
• 3:26
  put
• 3:26
  a
• 3:26
  number
• 3:26
  next
• 3:26
  to
• 3:27
  them.
• 3:27
  What
• 3:28
  is
• 3:28
  your
• 3:28
  budget
• 3:29
  for
• 3:29
  that
• 3:29
  person?
• 3:30
  Because
• 3:30
  the
• 3:30
  truth
• 3:30
  is,
• 3:31
  if
• 3:31
  you
• 3:31
  don't
• 3:31
  do
• 3:31
  this,
• 3:32
  I
• 3:32
  can
• 3:33
  guarantee
• 3:33
  you
• 3:33
  this,
• 3:33
  without
• 3:34
  a
• 3:34
  plan,
• 3:34
  you're
• 3:35
  going
• 3:35
  to
• 3:35
  make
• 3:35
  those
• 3:36
  impulse
• 3:36
  purchases.
• 3:37
  You're
• 3:37
  going
• 3:38
  to
• 3:38
  make
• 3:38
  those
• 3:38
  impulse
• 3:38
  buys.
• 3:39
  And
• 3:39
  if
• 3:39
  you're
• 3:39
  making
• 3:39
  those
• 3:39
  impulse
• 3:40
  buys
• 3:41
  for
• 3:41
  most
• 3:41
  people,
• 3:42
  that
• 3:42
  means
• 3:42
  you're
• 3:42
  putting
• 3:43
  the
• 3:43
  plastic
• 3:43
  down,
• 3:44
  you're
• 3:44
  running
• 3:44
  up
• 3:44
  that
• 3:45
  credit
• 3:45
  card
• 3:45
  debt,
• 3:46
  and
• 3:46
  you
• 3:46
  get
• 3:46
  into
• 3:46
  what
• 3:46
  the
• 3:47
  listener
• 3:47
  said
• 3:47
  today.
• 3:47
  You
• 3:47
  get
• 3:48
  into
• 3:48
  that
• 3:48
  January
• 3:48
  regret.
• 3:49
  Listen,
• 3:49
  I've
• 3:49
  been
• 3:49
  there,
• 3:49
  done
• 3:50
  that.
• 3:50
  It's
• 3:51
  not
• 3:51
  a
• 3:51
  fun
• 3:51
  thing.
• 3:51
  So
• 3:52
  start
• 3:52
  with
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  number
• 3:52
  one
• 3:53
  thing.
• 3:53
  Make
• 3:53
  a
• 3:53
  list.
• 3:54
  Second
• 3:54
  thing,
• 3:55
  a
• 3:55
  lot
• 3:55
  of
• 3:55
  people
• 3:55
  don't
• 3:55
  think
• 3:55
  about
• 3:55
  this.
• 3:56
  It's
• 3:56
  Abby
• 3:56
  and
• 3:57
  I
• 3:57
  were
• 3:57
  talking
• 3:57
  before
• 3:57
  the
• 3:57
  show.
• 3:58
  It's
• 3:58
  so
• 3:58
  easy
• 3:59
  when
• 3:59
  you're
• 3:59
  scrolling
• 4:00
  on
• 4:00
  Facebook
• 4:01
  or
• 4:01
  on
• 4:01
  TikTok
• 4:02
  or
• 4:02
  on
• 4:02
  one
• 4:02
  of
• 4:02
  those
• 4:03
  other
• 4:03
  social
• 4:03
  media
• 4:03
  apps.
• 4:03
  You
• 4:04
  see
• 4:04
  something
• 4:04
  that
• 4:04
  pop
• 4:04
  up,
• 4:04
  you're
• 4:04
  like,
• 4:04
  oh,
• 4:05
  I
• 4:05
  got
• 4:05
  to
• 4:05
  have
• 4:05
  this.
• 4:05
  This
• 4:06
  is
• 4:06
  something
• 4:06
  I
• 4:06
  absolutely
• 4:07
  have
• 4:07
  to
• 4:07
  have.
• 4:08
  But
• 4:08
  how
• 4:08
  often
• 4:09
  do
• 4:09
  you
• 4:09
  look
• 4:09
  around
• 4:10
  and
• 4:10
  compare
• 4:10
  that
• 4:11
  with
• 4:11
  other
• 4:11
  places?
• 4:12
  A
• 4:13
  great
• 4:13
  example
• 4:13
  of
• 4:13
  that
• 4:13
  for
• 4:13
  me
• 4:14
  is
• 4:14
  Amazon
• 4:14
  in
• 4:15
  the
• 4:15
  United
• 4:15
  States.
• 4:15
  Amazon
• 4:16
  is
• 4:16
  super
• 4:16
  simple.
• 4:17
  If
• 4:17
  I
• 4:17
  want
• 4:17
  something,
• 4:17
  I
• 4:18
  click
• 4:18
  on
• 4:18
  Amazon.
• 4:19
  One
• 4:19
  click.
• 4:19
  Oh,
• 4:19
  here's
• 4:20
  my
• 4:20
  must
• 4:20
  haves
• 4:20
  for
• 4:21
  today.
• 4:21
  I
• 4:21
  might
• 4:21
  be
• 4:21
  looking
• 4:21
  for
• 4:22
  something
• 4:22
  completely
• 4:22
  different,
• 4:23
  but
• 4:23
  as
• 4:23
  soon
• 4:23
  as
• 4:23
  I
• 4:23
  open
• 4:24
  up
• 4:24
  the
• 4:24
  Amazon
• 4:24
  app,
• 4:25
  bam.
• 4:25
  Here's
• 4:25
  my
• 4:26
  essentials
• 4:26
  for
• 4:26
  today.
• 4:27
  Next
• 4:27
  thing
• 4:28
  you
• 4:28
  know,
• 4:28
  15
• 4:28
  minutes
• 4:29
  later,
• 4:29
  I've
• 4:29
  got
• 4:29
  a
• 4:30
  basket
• 4:30
  full
• 4:30
  of
• 4:30
  stuff.
• 4:30
  I
• 4:31
  got
• 4:31
  a
• 4:31
  whole
• 4:31
  shopping
• 4:31
  cart
• 4:32
  full
• 4:32
  of
• 4:32
  stuff
• 4:32
  I
• 4:32
  didn't
• 4:33
  really
• 4:33
  need,
• 4:33
  I
• 4:34
  wasn't
• 4:34
  really
• 4:34
  looking
• 4:34
  for.
• 4:35
  But
• 4:36
  when
• 4:36
  you
• 4:36
  do
• 4:36
  that,
• 4:37
  compare,
• 4:37
  there
• 4:37
  are
• 4:37
  some
• 4:38
  other
• 4:38
  sites
• 4:38
  you
• 4:38
  can
• 4:38
  look
• 4:39
  at.
• 4:39
  Walmart.
• 4:39
  My
• 4:39
  wife
• 4:40
  does
• 4:40
  a
• 4:40
  great
• 4:40
  job
• 4:40
  of
• 4:41
  this.
• 4:41
  Whenever
• 4:41
  she's
• 4:42
  looking
• 4:42
  for
• 4:42
  something,
• 4:42
  she
• 4:43
  doesn't
• 4:43
  just
• 4:43
  go
• 4:43
  to
• 4:43
  Amazon,
• 4:44
  she
• 4:44
  looks
• 4:44
  at
• 4:45
  Walmart.
• 4:45
  She
• 4:45
  looks
• 4:45
  at
• 4:46
  Target.
• 4:46
  Hey,
• 4:47
  there's,
• 4:47
  temu,
• 4:47
  there's
• 4:48
  Etsy,
• 4:48
  there's
• 4:48
  all
• 4:49
  kinds
• 4:49
  of
• 4:49
  places
• 4:49
  that
• 4:50
  you
• 4:50
  can
• 4:50
  go
• 4:50
  and
• 4:50
  look
• 4:51
  for
• 4:51
  things.
• 4:51
  Don't
• 4:52
  get
• 4:52
  sucked
• 4:53
  into
• 4:53
  that
• 4:53
  first
• 4:54
  thing
• 4:54
  that
• 4:54
  you
• 4:54
  see.
• 4:55
  Because
• 4:55
  listen,
• 4:55
  let
• 4:55
  me
• 4:55
  tell
• 4:56
  you
• 4:56
  something
• 4:56
  right,
• 4:56
  a
• 4:56
  little
• 4:56
  Ralph
• 4:57
  rant
• 4:57
  right
• 4:57
  now.
• 4:58
  Social
• 4:58
  media
• 4:59
  is
• 4:59
  not
• 4:59
  designed
• 5:00
  to
• 5:00
  help
• 5:00
  you
• 5:00
  connect
• 5:00
  with
• 5:00
  other
• 5:01
  people.
• 5:01
  Social
• 5:01
  media
• 5:02
  is
• 5:02
  designed
• 5:02
  to
• 5:02
  make
• 5:03
  you
• 5:03
  spend
• 5:03
  money.
• 5:04
  It's
• 5:04
  really
• 5:04
  that
• 5:04
  simple.
• 5:05
  That's
• 5:05
  who
• 5:05
  makes
• 5:06
  money
• 5:06
  in
• 5:06
  social
• 5:06
  media,
• 5:07
  Advertisers.
• 5:08
  Because
• 5:08
  they're
• 5:08
  trying
• 5:08
  to
• 5:08
  get
• 5:09
  you
• 5:09
  to
• 5:09
  spend
• 5:09
  money.
• 5:10
  Well,
• 5:10
  if
• 5:10
  you
• 5:10
  click
• 5:10
  on
• 5:10
  that
• 5:11
  ad
• 5:11
  and
• 5:11
  you
• 5:11
  go
• 5:11
  buy
• 5:11
  that
• 5:12
  product
• 5:12
  and
• 5:12
  you
• 5:12
  don't
• 5:13
  compare
• 5:13
  it
• 5:13
  to
• 5:13
  other
• 5:13
  places
• 5:14
  online,
• 5:14
  you
• 5:14
  could
• 5:14
  be
• 5:15
  losing
• 5:15
  a
• 5:15
  ton
• 5:16
  of
• 5:16
  money.
• 5:16
  There
• 5:16
  might
• 5:16
  be
• 5:17
  other
• 5:17
  places
• 5:17
  that
• 5:18
  could
• 5:18
  save
• 5:18
  you
• 5:18
  money.
• 5:18
  So
• 5:19
  second
• 5:19
  thing,
• 5:19
  compare
• 5:20
  online.
• 5:21
  Third
• 5:21
  thing,
• 5:22
  maybe
• 5:22
  you're
• 5:22
  one
• 5:22
  of
• 5:22
  those
• 5:22
  folks
• 5:23
  that
• 5:23
  says,
• 5:23
  you
• 5:23
  know
• 5:23
  what,
• 5:23
  Ralph,
• 5:24
  I
• 5:24
  just
• 5:24
  have
• 5:24
  a
• 5:24
  hard
• 5:25
  time
• 5:25
  managing
• 5:26
  that
• 5:26
  credit
• 5:26
  card.
• 5:26
  Well,
• 5:26
  here's
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  great
• 5:27
  thing
• 5:27
  you
• 5:27
  can
• 5:27
  do.
• 5:28
  Use
• 5:28
  some
• 5:28
  cash
• 5:29
  envelopes.
• 5:29
  You
• 5:29
  might
• 5:30
  be
• 5:30
  thinking,
• 5:30
  well
• 5:30
  that's
• 5:30
  old
• 5:30
  school.
• 5:31
  My
• 5:31
  grandmother
• 5:31
  used
• 5:32
  to
• 5:32
  do
• 5:32
  that.
• 5:32
  Yeah,
• 5:32
  but
• 5:32
  guess
• 5:33
  what?
• 5:33
  Grandma
• 5:33
  was
• 5:33
  pretty
• 5:34
  effective.
• 5:34
  Wasn't
• 5:34
  cheap.
• 5:35
  See,
• 5:35
  I
• 5:35
  think
• 5:36
  there's
• 5:36
  a
• 5:36
  connection
• 5:36
  with
• 5:37
  seeing
• 5:37
  that
• 5:37
  money.
• 5:38
  If
• 5:38
  you
• 5:38
  take,
• 5:38
  let's
• 5:39
  just
• 5:39
  say
• 5:39
  we
• 5:39
  make
• 5:39
  that
• 5:40
  list
• 5:40
  and
• 5:40
  there's
• 5:40
  10
• 5:40
  people
• 5:41
  we
• 5:41
  gotta
• 5:41
  buy
• 5:41
  for.
• 5:41
  And
• 5:42
  let's
• 5:42
  say
• 5:42
  we're
• 5:42
  gonna
• 5:42
  spend
• 5:43
  $20
• 5:43
  on
• 5:43
  each
• 5:44
  person.
• 5:44
  We'll
• 5:45
  get
• 5:45
  10
• 5:45
  envelopes,
• 5:45
  write
• 5:46
  their
• 5:46
  names
• 5:46
  on
• 5:46
  the
• 5:46
  front
• 5:47
  and
• 5:47
  put
• 5:47
  $20
• 5:48
  in
• 5:48
  each
• 5:48
  envelope.
• 5:49
  Well,
• 5:49
  guess
• 5:49
  what?
• 5:50
  You're
• 5:50
  gonna
• 5:50
  physically
• 5:50
  see
• 5:51
  that
• 5:51
  money
• 5:51
  when
• 5:51
  that
• 5:51
  envelope's
• 5:52
  gone.
• 5:53
  No
• 5:53
  more
• 5:53
  buy
• 5:53
  in.
• 5:54
  That
• 5:54
  builds
• 5:54
  accountability.
• 5:55
  So
• 5:56
  if
• 5:56
  you
• 5:56
  have
• 5:56
  a
• 5:56
  hard
• 5:56
  time
• 5:57
  balancing
• 5:57
  that,
• 5:58
  keeping
• 5:58
  that
• 5:58
  budget
• 5:59
  in
• 5:59
  check,
• 5:59
  consider
• 6:00
  the
• 6:00
  envelope
• 6:00
  method.
• 6:01
  Next
• 6:01
  thing,
• 6:02
  avoid
• 6:02
  those
• 6:03
  traps.
• 6:04
  Like
• 6:04
  I
• 6:04
  said,
• 6:05
  it's
• 6:05
  so
• 6:05
  easy
• 6:06
  when
• 6:06
  you
• 6:06
  go
• 6:06
  online,
• 6:07
  you
• 6:07
  see
• 6:07
  that
• 6:07
  one
• 6:07
  day
• 6:08
  sale
• 6:08
  or
• 6:08
  only
• 6:09
  three
• 6:09
  left,
• 6:09
  or
• 6:10
  at
• 6:10
  least
• 6:10
  my
• 6:10
  favorite
• 6:11
  one,
• 6:11
  Amazon
• 6:12
  essentials.
• 6:13
  Truth
• 6:13
  is,
• 6:14
  on
• 6:14
  Amazon,
• 6:15
  everything
• 6:15
  is
• 6:15
  essential,
• 6:16
  isn't
• 6:16
  it?
• 6:17
  It's
• 6:17
  so
• 6:17
  easy
• 6:17
  when
• 6:18
  you
• 6:18
  go
• 6:18
  in
• 6:18
  and
• 6:18
  you
• 6:18
  click
• 6:18
  on
• 6:18
  that.
• 6:19
  Amazon's
• 6:19
  not
• 6:20
  the
• 6:20
  only
• 6:20
  one.
• 6:20
  I
• 6:20
  see
• 6:20
  it
• 6:20
  on
• 6:20
  Walmart,
• 6:21
  I
• 6:21
  see
• 6:21
  it
• 6:21
  on
• 6:21
  Target,
• 6:22
  I
• 6:22
  see
• 6:22
  it
• 6:22
  on
• 6:23
  Lowe's,
• 6:23
  you
• 6:23
  know,
• 6:24
  the
• 6:24
  Home
• 6:24
  Depot,
• 6:24
  all
• 6:25
  those
• 6:25
  kind
• 6:25
  of
• 6:25
  places.
• 6:26
  Here's
• 6:26
  another
• 6:26
  big
• 6:27
  trap.
• 6:27
  That
• 6:28
  Black
• 6:28
  Friday
• 6:28
  sale.
• 6:29
  Oh,
• 6:30
  this
• 6:30
  is
• 6:30
  a
• 6:30
  must
• 6:30
  have
• 6:30
  you
• 6:31
  fear
• 6:31
  of
• 6:31
  missing
• 6:31
  out.
• 6:32
  But
• 6:32
  oftentimes
• 6:33
  a
• 6:33
  lot
• 6:33
  of
• 6:33
  people
• 6:33
  don't
• 6:33
  realize
• 6:34
  that
• 6:34
  that
• 6:34
  Black
• 6:35
  Friday
• 6:35
  sale
• 6:36
  is
• 6:36
  designed
• 6:36
  to
• 6:37
  make
• 6:37
  you
• 6:37
  spend
• 6:37
  money.
• 6:37
  It's
• 6:38
  not
• 6:38
  necessarily
• 6:38
  something
• 6:39
  you
• 6:39
  need
• 6:39
  and
• 6:40
  it
• 6:40
  might
• 6:40
  not
• 6:40
  be
• 6:40
  the
• 6:40
  best
• 6:41
  price.
• 6:41
  So
• 6:42
  that's
• 6:42
  another
• 6:42
  thing.
• 6:42
  Avoid
• 6:43
  those
• 6:43
  traps.
• 6:44
  And
• 6:44
  here's
• 6:44
  the
• 6:44
  big

  us

• 7:01

  see,

• 7:05
  That's

  what
• 7:05
  this
• 7:06
  whole

  series
• 7:06
  is
• 7:06
  about.
• 7:07
  How
• 7:07
  do
• 7:07
  I
• 7:07
  get
• 7:07
  to
• 7:07
  joy?
• 7:08
  Well,
• 7:08
  stay
• 7:09
  peaceful.
• 7:09
  Which
• 7:10
  leads
• 7:10
  me
• 7:10
  to
• 7:10
  our
• 7:10
  Bible
• 7:11
  verses.
• 7:11
  And
• 7:11
  guess
• 7:11
  what?
• 7:11
  We've
• 7:11
  got
• 7:12
  two
• 7:12
  Bible
• 7:12
  verses
• 7:12
  for
• 7:13
  you
• 7:13
  today
• 7:13
  because
• 7:13
  we
• 7:14
  couldn't
• 7:14
  decide
• 7:14
  which
• 7:14
  one
• 7:14
  we
• 7:15
  liked
• 7:15
  best.
• 7:15
  But
• 7:15
  let's
• 7:15
  get
• 7:15
  right
• 7:16
  into
• 7:16
  the
• 7:16
  first
• 7:16
  one.
• 7:17
  The
• 7:17
  first
• 7:17
  one
• 7:17
  is
• 7:17
  Proverbs
• 7:18
  chapter
• 7:19
  25,
• 7:20
  verse
• 7:20
  28.
• 7:20
  And
• 7:20
  it
• 7:21
  says
• 7:21
  this
• 7:21
  like,
• 7:22
  a
• 7:22
  city
• 7:22
  whose
• 7:22
  walls
• 7:23
  are
• 7:23
  broken
• 7:23
  through
• 7:24
  is
• 7:24
  a
• 7:24
  person
• 7:24
  who
• 7:25
  lacks
• 7:25
  self
• 7:25
  control.
• 7:26
  Well,
• 7:26
  that's
• 7:26
  like
• 7:27
  hit
• 7:27
  me
• 7:27
  over
• 7:27
  the
• 7:27
  head
• 7:27
  with
• 7:27
  a
• 7:27
  mallet,
• 7:28
  isn't
• 7:28
  it?
• 7:28
  But
• 7:29
  what's
• 7:29
  the
• 7:29
  scripture
• 7:29
  telling
• 7:30
  us?
• 7:31
  If
• 7:31
  you
• 7:31
  don't
• 7:31
  have
• 7:32
  strong
• 7:32
  walls,
• 7:32
  if
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  don't
• 7:33
  have
• 7:33
  that
• 7:33
  plan,
• 7:34
  if
• 7:34
  you
• 7:34
  don't
• 7:34
  have
• 7:34
  those
• 7:34
  boundaries,
• 7:35
  it's
• 7:36
  saying
• 7:36
  you
• 7:36
  lack
• 7:37
  self
• 7:37
  control.
• 7:38
  See,
• 7:38
  the
• 7:39
  big
• 7:39
  takeaway
• 7:39
  from
• 7:40
  today
• 7:40
  is
• 7:41
  have
• 7:41
  that
• 7:41
  self
• 7:41
  control.
• 7:41
  Let's
• 7:42
  get
• 7:42
  to
• 7:42
  our
• 7:42
  second
• 7:42
  Bible
• 7:43
  verse.
• 7:43
  This
• 7:44
  is
• 7:44
  First
• 7:44
  Corinthians,
• 7:45
  chapter
• 7:45
  14,
• 7:46
  verse
• 7:46
  33
• 7:47
  says
• 7:47
  this.
• 7:48
  For
• 7:48
  God
• 7:48
  is
• 7:48
  not
• 7:48
  a
• 7:48
  God
• 7:49
  of
• 7:49
  disorder,
• 7:49
  but
• 7:50
  of
• 7:50
  peace.
• 7:51
  God
• 7:52
  is
• 7:52
  telling
• 7:52
  us
• 7:52
  himself.
• 7:53
  I
• 7:53
  want
• 7:53
  you
• 7:54
  to
• 7:54
  live
• 7:54
  in
• 7:54
  peace.
• 7:54
  I
• 7:55
  don't
• 7:55
  want
• 7:55
  you
• 7:55
  to
• 7:55
  live
• 7:55
  in
• 7:56
  chaos.
• 7:56
  I
• 7:56
  don't
• 7:57
  want
• 7:57
  you
• 7:57
  to
• 7:57
  feel
• 7:57
  like
• 7:57
  that
• 7:58
  you
• 7:58
  have
• 7:58
  this
• 7:58
  regret.
• 7:59
  God
• 7:59
  doesn't
• 7:59
  want
• 7:59
  you
• 8:00
  to
• 8:00
  celebrate
• 8:00
  the
• 8:00
  birth
• 8:01
  of
• 8:01
  Christ
• 8:01
  and
• 8:01
  then
• 8:02
  have
• 8:02
  this,
• 8:02
  Jane
• 8:02
  regret.
• 8:03
  Like,
• 8:03
  why
• 8:03
  did
• 8:03
  I
• 8:03
  do
• 8:04
  this?
• 8:04
  Have
• 8:05
  joy
• 8:05
  in
• 8:05
  the
• 8:05
  season.
• 8:06
  Well,
• 8:06
  how
• 8:06
  about
• 8:06
  we
• 8:06
  pray
• 8:06
  together
• 8:07
  right
• 8:07
  now?
• 8:08
  Father
• 8:08
  God,
• 8:08
  as
• 8:08
  we
• 8:09
  prepare
• 8:09
  for
• 8:09
  the
• 8:09
  season,
• 8:10
  give
• 8:10
  us
• 8:10
  strength,
• 8:11
  Lord,
• 8:11
  to
• 8:11
  exercise
• 8:12
  self
• 8:12
  control
• 8:13
  while
• 8:13
  we're
• 8:13
  shopping.
• 8:14
  Help
• 8:14
  us
• 8:14
  to
• 8:15
  build
• 8:15
  that
• 8:15
  list
• 8:15
  and
• 8:15
  understand
• 8:16
  what
• 8:16
  we're
• 8:16
  doing.
• 8:17
  Give
• 8:17
  us
• 8:17
  peace
• 8:18
  instead
• 8:18
  of
• 8:19
  so
• 8:19
  much
• 8:19
  pressure
• 8:19
  so
• 8:20
  many
• 8:20
  of
• 8:20
  us
• 8:20
  feel
• 8:20
  during
• 8:21
  the
• 8:21
  season
• 8:21
  of
• 8:21
  the
• 8:21
  holidays.
• 8:22
  That's
• 8:22
  the
• 8:22
  one
• 8:22
  thing
• 8:23
  people
• 8:23
  say
• 8:23
  to
• 8:23
  me
• 8:23
  all
• 8:24
  the
• 8:24
  time.
• 8:24
  They
• 8:24
  say,
• 8:24
  I
• 8:25
  feel
• 8:25
  so
• 8:25
  much
• 8:25
  pressure.
• 8:26
  Well,
• 8:26
  Lord,
• 8:27
  help
• 8:27
  us
• 8:27
  to
• 8:27
  dissuade
• 8:28
  that
• 8:28
  pressure.
• 8:28
  Help
• 8:29
  us
• 8:29
  to
• 8:29
  live
• 8:29
  in
• 8:29
  your
• 8:29
  peace
• 8:30
  and
• 8:30
  your
• 8:30
  joy
• 8:30
  and
• 8:30
  give
• 8:31
  us
• 8:31
  wisdom
• 8:31
  to
• 8:32
  steward
• 8:32
  our
• 8:32
  finances
• 8:33
  faithfully,
• 8:33
  especially
• 8:34
  during
• 8:34
  the
• 8:34
  holiday
• 8:35
  season.
• 8:35
  We
• 8:35
  ask
• 8:36
  all
• 8:36
  these
• 8:36
  things
• 8:36
  in
• 8:37
  the
• 8:37
  name
• 8:37
  of
• 8:37
  Jesus.
• 8:38
  Amen.
• 8:39
  All
• 8:39
  right,
• 8:39
  well,
• 8:39
  let's
• 8:39
  get
• 8:39
  to
• 8:39
  our
• 8:40
  one
• 8:40
  action
• 8:40
  item
• 8:41
  for
• 8:41
  today.
• 8:41
  Just
• 8:41
  one
• 8:41
  thing
• 8:42
  that
• 8:42
  I
• 8:42
  want
• 8:42
  you
• 8:42
  to
• 8:42
  focus
• 8:43
  in
• 8:43
  on
• 8:43
  today.
• 8:44
  Before
• 8:44
  your
• 8:44
  next
• 8:45
  purchase,
• 8:45
  I
• 8:45
  want
• 8:46
  you
• 8:46
  to
• 8:46
  just
• 8:46
  take
• 8:46
  a
• 8:46
  pause
• 8:48
  and
• 8:48
  just
• 8:48
  ask
• 8:48
  yourself
• 8:49
  this
• 8:49
  really
• 8:49
  simple
• 8:50
  question.
• 8:51
  Is
• 8:51
  this
• 8:52
  on
• 8:52
  my
• 8:52
  list?
• 8:53
  It's
• 8:53
  really
• 8:53
  that
• 8:54
  simple.
• 8:54
  When
• 8:55
  you're
• 8:55
  getting
• 8:55
  ready
• 8:55
  to
• 8:55
  pull
• 8:55
  the
• 8:56
  trigger,
• 8:56
  when
• 8:56
  it's
• 8:56
  in
• 8:57
  your
• 8:57
  cart,
• 8:57
  you're
• 8:57
  getting
• 8:57
  ready
• 8:58
  to
• 8:58
  check
• 8:58
  out,
• 8:58
  just
• 8:59
  ask
• 8:59
  yourself
• 9:00
  that
• 9:00
  question.
• 9:01
  Is
• 9:01
  this
• 9:01
  on
• 9:01
  my
• 9:02
  list?
• 9:02
  And
• 9:03
  if
• 9:03
  it's
• 9:03
  not,
• 9:03
  here's
• 9:04
  my
• 9:04
  challenge
• 9:04
  for
• 9:04
  you
• 9:04
  today.
• 9:05
  Just
• 9:06
  pause
• 9:06
  24
• 9:06
  hours.
• 9:07
  Just
• 9:07
  let
• 9:08
  it
• 9:08
  sit
• 9:08
  in
• 9:08
  that
• 9:08
  car.
• 9:08
  It's
• 9:08
  not
• 9:08
  going
• 9:09
  anywhere.
• 9:09
  Let
• 9:09
  it
• 9:09
  stew
• 9:10
  a
• 9:10
  little
• 9:10
  bit,
• 9:10
  you
• 9:10
  know,
• 9:10
  like
• 9:11
  a
• 9:11
  nice
• 9:11
  stew
• 9:11
  you're
• 9:12
  making
• 9:12
  around
• 9:12
  the
• 9:12
  holidays.
• 9:13
  Let's
• 9:13
  it
• 9:13
  cook
• 9:14
  a
• 9:14
  little
• 9:14
  while.
• 9:15
  I'm
• 9:15
  going
• 9:15
  to
• 9:15
  tell
• 9:15
  you
• 9:15
  something.
• 9:16
  You
• 9:16
  may
• 9:16
  not
• 9:16
  go
• 9:16
  back
• 9:16
  to
• 9:16
  it,
• 9:17
  but
• 9:17
  you
• 9:17
  go
• 9:17
  back
• 9:17
  24
• 9:17
  hours,
• 9:18
  you're
• 9:18
  like,
• 9:18
  later.
• 9:18
  Hmm.
• 9:19
  I
• 9:19
  didn't
• 9:19
  really
• 9:19
  need
• 9:20
  that,
• 9:20
  did
• 9:20
  I?
• 9:21
  All
• 9:21
  right,
• 9:21
  so
• 9:21
  here's
• 9:22
  the
• 9:22
  make
• 9:23
  that
• 9:23
  list
• 9:23
  today.
• 9:23
  As
• 9:24
  Santa
• 9:24
  says,
• 9:24
  check
• 9:25
  it
• 9:25
  twice.
• 9:25
  If
• 9:25
  you
• 9:25
  don't
• 9:25
  celebrate
• 9:26
  Santa,
• 9:26
  I'm
• 9:26
  cool
• 9:26
  with
• 9:26
  that.
• 9:27
  But
• 9:27
  that's
• 9:27
  a
• 9:27
  little
• 9:27
  funny
• 9:28
  thing.
• 9:28
  Santa
• 9:28
  says
• 9:29
  check
• 9:29
  it
• 9:29
  twice,
• 9:29
  but
• 9:29
  you
• 9:29
  got
• 9:29
  to
• 9:29
  make
• 9:29
  the
• 9:30
  list
• 9:30
  in
• 9:30
  the
• 9:30
  first
• 9:30
  place.
• 9:31
  Have
• 9:31
  a
• 9:31
  holiday
• 9:32
  without
• 9:32
  credit
• 9:33
  card
• 9:33
  regret.
• 9:34
  I
• 9:34
  encourage
• 9:34
  you.
• 9:34
  Go
• 9:35
  be
• 9:35
  a
• 9:35
  financially
• 9:36
  confident
• 9:36
  Christian
• 9:36
  today.
• 9:37
  Stay
• 9:37
  financially
• 9:38
  savvy.
• 9:38
  God
• 9:38
  bless
• 9:39
  you.
• 9:39
  And
• 9:39
  I'll
• 9:40
  see
• 9:40
  you
• 9:40
  tomorrow
• 9:40
  on
• 9:40
  the
• 9:40
  show.
