- 0:13Speaker 1: Boom. Welcome back to another week of Good to Know
- 0:17Speaker 1: from Plano. We're going to be joined by a very,
- 0:21Speaker 1: very funny cat, a very interesting person, you guys, a
- 0:24Speaker 1: good friend of mine, Mr. Justin. Hey. Hey, guys. How
- 0:28Speaker 1: you doing? So how are you, dude?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Good.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Good.
- 0:34Speaker 2: You're doing great.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I tend to point in some of that
- 0:36Speaker 1: as soon.
- 0:36Speaker 2: As I'm going to speak. No, you're good.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So I was going to say, just found out too,
- 0:42Speaker 1: because as we were talking, that you're from Tucson.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm from Tucson, Arizona. I was there for like
- 0:48Speaker 2: 24 years, and then 23, 24, something like that. Then
- 0:52Speaker 2: I moved to Vegas for a year, and then I
- 0:55Speaker 2: moved back to Arizona, but I moved to Phoenix. Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 2: And that's when I started comedy.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause that's where I know you from. That's why
- 1:02Speaker 1: I thought you were, you were, you were from Phoenix.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I just, right now I was like, Oh, you're from Tucson.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's so interesting, dude. Cause like, okay. So I
- 1:09Speaker 1: went to Tucson for my first time, I think about
- 1:11Speaker 1: a year ago. Uh, I did, I went and did, um, laughs.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, and then I was rolling all around, uh,
- 1:18Speaker 1: just to, to check out the town and stuff like that. And, um,
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's a city. It's got.
- 1:23Speaker 2: It's a city.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's a city.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It's got some things to do.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I mean, it does have... I didn't know
- 1:29Speaker 1: that it was that big of a city because the
- 1:31Speaker 1: downtown is big. So I thought in my head, I
- 1:33Speaker 1: was like, oh, it's just a little town, da-da-da-da. And
- 1:36Speaker 1: then I was reading all these interesting facts that Tucson
- 1:40Speaker 1: has like 360 days of sunshine.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, it's crazy.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It's like... And then I didn't know that... I mean,
- 1:48Speaker 1: because it's a college town, too.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So it's always cracking. Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's always that. Well, that's why Gronk went to U
- 1:54Speaker 2: of A.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 2: His reason was because it's a party town.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: They like to bet.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Yeah. It's crack. I was like, yeah, I go, okay,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you guys, you'll find shit to do. And, um, Mexico's
- 2:05Speaker 1: not far. Nope.
- 2:06Speaker 2: That's why gas is so cheap there.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So that's, yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 1: One of the benefits of that. I, um, I took off,
- 2:14Speaker 1: I went to, uh, uh, Nogales. Uh, yeah, I was,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I landed early. I landed way too early, and I
- 2:20Speaker 1: couldn't check in, so I was like, well, I'll just
- 2:22Speaker 1: go have Mexican food in Mexico. Okay.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I like that.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because I don't drink anymore, so I was like, okay, well,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'll just go get a good taco.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And then I ran over there, and then, did you
- 2:33Speaker 1: ever go to Tombstone, because it's so close? No. No?
- 2:35Speaker 2: I didn't go to a lot of places. I went
- 2:38Speaker 2: to Old Town, Tucson.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Did you ever go there?
- 2:41Speaker 1: No, I didn't go to Old Town.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Old Town is like Red Dead Redemption. It's like it's a,
- 2:45Speaker 2: It's a Western studio where they used to shoot a
- 2:48Speaker 2: lot of Western videos.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I did not know that.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It's so funny that Tucson is a city, which I'm
- 2:55Speaker 1: going to be in, actually, in August.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Going back to Laffs?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going back to Laffs, yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Okay, that's it. It's a hot room. You know what's funny?
- 3:04Speaker 2: I actually started comedy kind of in Vegas, but I
- 3:09Speaker 2: only did open mics in Tucson when I would visit
- 3:13Speaker 2: my family.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Because that's where it was comfortable at. So, but I
- 3:19Speaker 2: don't count it because there was like three months in
- 3:21Speaker 2: between each time. So I don't count it.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Oh, that's interesting. Have you ever done laughs?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Just the open mic. Yeah. I remember Hoodie gave me shit.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Do you know Hoodie?
- 3:32Speaker 1: No, no.
- 3:33Speaker 2: He was like the face of laughs.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And so he, like I was a new guy, so
- 3:39Speaker 2: he's like, who the fuck are you? And I was
- 3:42Speaker 2: just like, who the fuck are you? And he was like,
- 3:44Speaker 2: thanks for busting my balls or whatever. But yeah, it
- 3:46Speaker 2: was an interesting time in Tucson.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Who was the guy? Were you there around that time?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Because there was a guy that died in the comedy
- 3:56Speaker 1: condo there.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that was Hoodie.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oh, that was Hoodie. Okay, that's him. I wish you
- 4:00Speaker 1: would have led with that apparently.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Hoodie.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Okay, yeah. I never met him. I never knew him.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the only time I met him that
- 4:08Speaker 2: one time.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I can't say too much about him.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they were like, they go, yeah, the comedy condo,
- 4:13Speaker 1: there's a dude died on the couch. And I was like, what?
- 4:16Speaker 1: And they were like, yeah. And I was like, oh,
- 4:17Speaker 1: that's interesting. There's always... some sort of comedy, you know, lure.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And then you'd like, you're like, that's not true. That's
- 4:23Speaker 1: not true. But then every time I talked to people, like, no, yeah, that's,
- 4:25Speaker 1: that's definitely true. They still have the couch. It's there. Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Like they had a recording that when you would call laughs,
- 4:31Speaker 2: the recording would play. He, he was the voice.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Oh, he was the voice too. Okay.
- 4:36Speaker 2: So I don't know if they still have it. Do
- 4:38Speaker 2: they still have the couch?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Oh, I actually don't know. I actually never got to
- 4:42Speaker 1: stay in the, in the comedy condo. I, every time
- 4:44Speaker 1: I went, I got a room. But then they're like, oh,
- 4:47Speaker 1: you didn't want to stay the day. And I was like, what?
- 4:48Speaker 1: They're like, yeah. And I was like, I did not
- 4:50Speaker 1: know that. But it's a great room. Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Oh, dude, it's fire when it's full. Oh, dude. It's great.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You get the best clips out of there.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I've worked out jokes that are not good in there.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And they fucking kill. Yeah. It's one of my favorite rooms, actually. Yeah. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 1: because it's like everyone is there to see comedy. And
- 5:11Speaker 1: so it's like everything goes. And they're like, all right,
- 5:13Speaker 1: let's fucking run it. Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And so then when I started doing comedy in Phoenix,
- 5:18Speaker 2: my main club was this club called Stand Up Scottsdale.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 5:23Speaker 2: It's not there anymore.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah. It was on Bar Rescue.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it was on Bar Rescue.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah. A comic friend of mine was the headliner on
- 5:32Speaker 1: that show, that one, Trenton Davis.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I know Trent.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Trenton Davis. Yeah, he's in that episode. I
- 5:39Speaker 1: was like, that's hilarious. Yeah. I don't know. Someone said
- 5:43Speaker 1: they've seen the owner recently.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Howard.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, someone said they'd just recently seen him, and I
- 5:48Speaker 1: think he wrote a book or some shit like that.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And then Howard, and then right down the street was
- 5:56Speaker 1: the comedy spot.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, with Sean.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny because Sean, both of those clubs
- 6:03Speaker 1: are no longer there, but I remember watching, who was
- 6:07Speaker 1: I watching? I think Brooklyn Nine-Nine or This Is Us,
- 6:11Speaker 1: and he'll pop up randomly because he's also an actor. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I remember one time I couldn't remember. I was like,
- 6:16Speaker 1: why do I know this dude? This guy looks super familiar.
- 6:18Speaker 1: What else is he in? And I go, wait a minute.
- 6:20Speaker 1: This motherfucker books me. I was like, I know this dude.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I haven't seen him in a while. And then I
- 6:27Speaker 1: was going to say, too, so when you started to do, like,
- 6:31Speaker 1: what got you the Jones to, did you always want
- 6:34Speaker 1: to be a comedian?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's funny. My grandpa was always like,
- 6:39Speaker 2: to my parents was like, you got to get them
- 6:41Speaker 2: in clown college or something. I'm sure it was comedian,
- 6:45Speaker 2: but the, you know, the popular thing was just like
- 6:47Speaker 2: clown college. That's what he thought of. So, and then
- 6:51Speaker 2: I got into a, uh, my friends would tell me
- 6:54Speaker 2: that I cheer them up when I insult them.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:58Speaker 2: And then my friend read a book, you know, there's
- 7:00Speaker 2: books of like a thousand and one pickup lines. Like
- 7:03Speaker 2: there's corny books. You get it. American Eagle or something.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And so she read one. And then she was like,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you should make one of stuff that you think about
- 7:13Speaker 2: doing but shouldn't do. You know, like masturbate at a
- 7:17Speaker 2: drug screening or something like that. And so I wrote it.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I didn't publish it or anything. But then I wrote it,
- 7:26Speaker 2: and then that's what started, like, me writing.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Okay. It got the Jones to start, you know, like, oh, okay, boom.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And then you tried to open it. Yeah. Okay, so
- 7:38Speaker 1: how many times did you bomb before you hit?
- 7:39Speaker 2: I actually, so four.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Four, okay.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I think every time I did last, I bombed. Then
- 7:49Speaker 2: when I moved in with my grandpa in Phoenix, I
- 7:52Speaker 2: had no plans of doing it. But then my cousin,
- 7:56Speaker 2: so every four, my grandpa's birthday was July 6th. So
- 8:02Speaker 2: July 4th, We'd have a big celebration. All the family
- 8:06Speaker 2: would come in. We'd go see the Diamondbacks. You know,
- 8:08Speaker 2: it was like a big thing. And so one year,
- 8:11Speaker 2: my cousin was like, hey, I want to see you
- 8:13Speaker 2: do stand-up. And that's when I found Stand-Up Scottsdale. I
- 8:17Speaker 2: did a set. I did pretty well. The guy before
- 8:20Speaker 2: me bombed, and that helped me.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yes, yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And I just did a bit about how we should
- 8:26Speaker 2: all have sex. instead of go to the gym. Because
- 8:30Speaker 2: having sex is like a workout.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like burning off tons of calories.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so that went well. And I did well enough
- 8:39Speaker 2: to go back a second time. And I talked about
- 8:42Speaker 2: how yoga pants have a weight limit. And so that
- 8:45Speaker 2: went over okay. And then at that point, I got
- 8:48Speaker 2: the bug.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And then the next time, I bombed. So the open
- 8:55Speaker 2: mic was in the side room. But then the third time,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I was in the main room. And then once I
- 9:01Speaker 2: passed that threshold to step on stage, I forgot what
- 9:06Speaker 2: I was going to talk about. So I kind of struggled.
- 9:09Speaker 2: But then I bombed. And then that's when I stopped
- 9:12Speaker 2: inviting my relatives to watch me.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Dude, I bombed so many times, too, right before finally
- 9:19Speaker 1: something hit. And I remember what happened with me is
- 9:24Speaker 1: I kept getting bumped. Yeah. Cause I would get nervous.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Like this guy kept bumping me. He was like, he's like,
- 9:27Speaker 1: you're going to, we got you. He's like, I'm sorry, man.
- 9:30Speaker 1: It happened three or four times. So by the time
- 9:32Speaker 1: that I was going to go up, I was no
- 9:34Speaker 1: longer having any stage fright or any kind of like
- 9:35Speaker 1: run through my brain. I was like, dude, I just
- 9:37Speaker 1: want to, I just want to hurry up and get up.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Cause now I'm like, I'm kind of pissed now. And then,
- 9:40Speaker 1: so I went up and I had, and I had
- 9:41Speaker 1: a good set and I was like, Oh, and then dude,
- 9:44Speaker 1: the way that feels like when you have a, when
- 9:45Speaker 1: you have your first good set.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Oh, you're, it's like you could drive around all night. Yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 2: You got to hide. and all this stuff. But the
- 9:56Speaker 2: interesting thing is, so I have muscular dystrophy, as you know, right?
- 10:00Speaker 2: I didn't talk about my disability for, like, the first
- 10:03Speaker 2: three years of comedy. And, like, so I had to
- 10:09Speaker 2: go up one step to get to the stage. I
- 10:12Speaker 2: tried to walk fast so people didn't notice that I
- 10:15Speaker 2: had a disability.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It varies. Yeah. So, uh, the muscular dystrophy, uh, it's,
- 10:23Speaker 1: it's born with it. Yes. Yeah. So, okay.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Oh, diagnosed at age two at age two.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. And then, so for people that don't know
- 10:31Speaker 1: exactly what muscular dystrophy is, can you explain it a
- 10:34Speaker 1: little bit?
- 10:35Speaker 2: It's a, it's a condition that like weakens your muscle
- 10:39Speaker 2: tissue and eventually disintegrates them. Really?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. And then, um, But, yeah, but that, like
- 10:46Speaker 1: you said, that doesn't stop you. I don't think it
- 10:48Speaker 1: stops you. It's the steps to get to the stage. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But it's funny because, like, didn't you go viral with
- 10:56Speaker 1: one of the jokes?
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I thought you, like, I saw that you had, like,
- 11:02Speaker 1: it was a clean, clear clip. I thought you started
- 11:03Speaker 1: getting some.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I mean, you know, maybe on Laugh After Dark.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Maybe the YouTube or something.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Oh, actually, no.
- 11:11Speaker 1: You know what? Yes.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yes. Kind of, because.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You're so modest.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Well, I partnered with Muscular Dystrophy Association, and so they
- 11:21Speaker 2: were a collaborator, so it was on their page as well.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So I think that's what helped. I mean, it only
- 11:27Speaker 2: has like 175,000 or something. Yeah, it was shit.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I mean, still, that's good. Those eyeballs.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was... That's what helped me. Let's see
- 11:41Speaker 2: if it pops up here.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, 373,000.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Damn, see? That's decent.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, fuck yeah. That's something to sneeze at. I'm terrible
- 11:53Speaker 1: at social media. I'm so bad.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Well, when we started, how long have you been doing it?
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm in year 18.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh, so yeah, six more years. But when we started,
- 12:05Speaker 2: we didn't have to do social media.
- 12:07Speaker 1: No.
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's going to sound so stupid, but I did comedy
- 12:11Speaker 2: because I was like, oh, I just got to write jokes,
- 12:13Speaker 2: go on stage and tell them?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 2: That sounds easy, you know? And then you're like, fuck
- 12:19Speaker 2: this social media game. You know, you have to figure
- 12:23Speaker 2: all this stuff out.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It's crazy because you've got to be a production house too.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And it's like, oh, well, yeah, same thing. I was like,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I just thought we were supposed to be really good
- 12:30Speaker 1: at writing jokes and figuring out the puzzle. Yeah. Because
- 12:33Speaker 1: that's already enough brain power in itself and trying to
- 12:36Speaker 1: figure that out. And then after you do that, you
- 12:39Speaker 1: have to create more and new things to also not
- 12:42Speaker 1: only for the audience, but for you, because you can
- 12:45Speaker 1: say a joke. And before you know it, you, you,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you fell out of love with it. Yeah. And it
- 12:49Speaker 1: doesn't hit like, and then you like, you forget it.
- 12:52Speaker 2: And then someone goes, Hey, I like that one joke
- 12:54Speaker 2: you did. And you're like, Oh my God, I totally
- 12:56Speaker 2: forgot that I did that joke.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Like, well, I used to love that joke. It used
- 13:00Speaker 1: to do so well. I don't know why I dropped it.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And it's like, Oh, it's just cause it's, you're making
- 13:04Speaker 1: room for a new, new shit, new content that, you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and it's interesting cause it's like, uh, I think that's
- 13:09Speaker 1: where the lost art is at in standup where it's like, um,
- 13:13Speaker 1: we turn and burn so much that we don't even
- 13:14Speaker 1: give it the time because it could have been something
- 13:16Speaker 1: else or it could have been bigger. And yeah, cause
- 13:18Speaker 1: there's like one, I had a joke that I wrote
- 13:21Speaker 1: in my book and it said, um, or my little
- 13:23Speaker 1: notepad and, um, it just said floor model TVs. And
- 13:27Speaker 1: I wrote like, I wrote that in like 2005. Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 2: With the, it's there. You're not moving it.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. I wrote that, that joke. I go, something's here.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And I was like, I'll figure it out. And I
- 13:38Speaker 1: did it. And now it's part of a 15-minute bit
- 13:42Speaker 1: by accident and stuff like that and running around. Oh,
- 13:45Speaker 1: so you're at L.A. Comedy Club. Yeah. All the time.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And tell us more about that experience, about being there.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Because you've been there now, like, what, two years?
- 13:55Speaker 2: No, it's been three.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Three?
- 13:57Speaker 2: Three and a half or something. I mean, it's been
- 13:59Speaker 2: great being around people where I want to be. you know,
- 14:06Speaker 2: like where you are, I want to be where you are.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So it's always nice to be around those people and
- 14:10Speaker 2: watch them and see what they do differently.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You know, I'm just working. I'm just trying. What'd you go?
- 14:17Speaker 1: What's up? Are you okay? What happened? Oh, okay. Okay.
- 14:21Speaker 2: No, she's, uh, I was going to say, I mean,
- 14:25Speaker 2: everyone that I work with, I love.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. That's good. That's cool, man. Um, so like, uh,
- 14:32Speaker 1: cause Matt and those guys are great. Yeah. And, uh,
- 14:35Speaker 1: It's fun, man. The whole staff, everybody is chill as fuck.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And it's like really, it's, I always tell people, I
- 14:41Speaker 1: was like, it's a, it's, it's a road gig in,
- 14:44Speaker 1: in Vegas because it's like, it's, it's not like a
- 14:47Speaker 1: Vegas-esque room where it's like, you know, like a loungy
- 14:51Speaker 1: or anything like that. It's like, I feel like I'm
- 14:53Speaker 1: in anywhere in America in that room and everyone's boom,
- 14:56Speaker 1: fucking having a good time and you get to roll.
- 14:59Speaker 1: There's some nights where you're like, motherfucker. Yeah, well, yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I mean, every club has those nights.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And then that's when you're tested. That's when you start thinking,
- 15:08Speaker 2: do I really want to do this? And that's how
- 15:11Speaker 2: you weed out the real comics from, like, I don't know.
- 15:17Speaker 1: That was funny the other night. The other night when
- 15:20Speaker 1: we were on stage, because we were together, because me, you,
- 15:23Speaker 1: and Paul Ogata, And you go, I tried. It's like, oh, fuck.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I was like, I tried to do that.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I don't know. And then I because I think they
- 15:38Speaker 2: were so low energy. And then when Paul, when you
- 15:41Speaker 2: got off, I was just like, are you guys ready
- 15:43Speaker 2: for your next comic? And they're like, yeah. And I
- 15:46Speaker 2: didn't reinforce and ask it again to get the energy up.
- 15:52Speaker 2: So when Paula came out, there's no one laughing.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's how their attitude was. It was like, sure.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And I even told them, too, when I got on stage,
- 16:02Speaker 1: I was like, well, fuck you guys, too, then. And
- 16:04Speaker 1: they started laughing. I go, well, you guys are giving
- 16:06Speaker 1: this energy like we're in a prison yard or some shit. Like,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I owe you some money. I was like, what the fuck?
- 16:10Speaker 1: And then they started laughing. They started kind of getting it.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I was like, yeah. I go, why are you guys
- 16:13Speaker 1: acting like? Like, make me laugh, motherfucker. And I was like, yo, chill.
- 16:18Speaker 1: But I was like, fuck around. And when things happen
- 16:21Speaker 1: like that, too, for me, I'll pull the curtain back
- 16:23Speaker 1: and tell everybody what's happening right now. And they're pretty
- 16:25Speaker 1: conscious of it, too. They're like, we are kind of
- 16:27Speaker 1: being like that on. It's like, yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I try to do that. But I mean, as a host,
- 16:31Speaker 2: as the first person, I feel like that may come
- 16:36Speaker 2: off as giving the audience too much shit. And they're like, oh,
- 16:40Speaker 2: we don't like you.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Which I get. I'm not going to be like, oh,
- 16:44Speaker 2: you should like me. No, I'm your first person. I
- 16:48Speaker 2: try to bring up the energy, which is not my style.
- 16:53Speaker 1: When I think energy, I think Justin Teigen. That's funny, though.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But no, I get you. You're right. You're right. But
- 17:00Speaker 1: as a host, it's really tough because you've got, especially
- 17:02Speaker 1: in Vegas, because it's seven minutes. Usually in any comedy club,
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's 10 to 15 minutes. So you do have time
- 17:08Speaker 1: to like, all right. And, and, and let people sit
- 17:11Speaker 1: down and roll and dah, dah, dah, dah. But it's
- 17:13Speaker 1: like in Vegas, it's seven minutes. We got to go.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And it's, it's like, it's go time. It's like, all right,
- 17:18Speaker 1: if you guys didn't like that, fuck it. Then next person. Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 2: If you like this, it's.
- 17:24Speaker 1: A bunch of like, Hey, what other magic trick? I,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I remember when I first, first was doing standup to like,
- 17:29Speaker 1: I would, I, um, would just rapidly shoot. Bah, bah, bah. Cause, um,
- 17:33Speaker 1: I was like, if you don't like that one, I
- 17:34Speaker 1: got 17 more. And I won't even stop breathing until
- 17:37Speaker 1: you laugh. And sometimes I definitely step on laughs. But
- 17:43Speaker 1: so you're a stand-up comic. And also, too, we were
- 17:47Speaker 1: talking about it earlier. You're not really fond of trivia.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But we're going to.
- 17:53Speaker 2: We'll see. Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you'll see.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Okay, cool. We're going to do trivia really quick. And.
- 18:00Speaker 1: You're going to be pinned against other comics in week
- 18:03Speaker 1: five across the board on all the mic drop-ins and
- 18:06Speaker 1: Laps Unlimited podcasts.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Do we win anything?
- 18:08Speaker 1: You win King of the Ring. It's all bragging rights. Yeah?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah. What does that mean? I'm better than you. Yep.
- 18:16Speaker 1: All right. So we're on week five. So here we go.
- 18:22Speaker 1: It's funny that you asked me about basketball. Because now
- 18:25Speaker 1: basketball is one of the first questions.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I was just looking at your Jordan cards right here. Oh, yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I actually just came out with the Jordan bit. Jordan
- 18:35Speaker 2: versus LeBron. So it's all about how I was sacrificed
- 18:39Speaker 2: for an athlete because I have a disability. So I
- 18:42Speaker 2: was like Stephen Hawking was sacrificed for Michael Jordan. Like
- 18:47Speaker 2: they took all of his ability and gave it to
- 18:49Speaker 2: Michael Jordan. That's why he's the greatest player. And they
- 18:53Speaker 2: only took some of my ability and gave it to
- 18:55Speaker 2: LeBron James. And that's why he'll never be the real GOAT.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Because I can still walk.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You can still walk. You still got your most functions. Yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 2: So it's, I don't know. It was like a throwaway joke,
- 19:08Speaker 2: you know, to be like, people are going to yell
- 19:10Speaker 2: shit out. I'm not going to like that. I may
- 19:13Speaker 2: say this once or twice.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You know, but then now I'm starting to like it.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You know, because a lot of people like clap when
- 19:20Speaker 2: I say that.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah. And I'm like, oh, shit.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Like, a lot of people agree with me, you know,
- 19:26Speaker 2: and I've only got one dick that's like, well, if
- 19:29Speaker 2: you look at the stats, I'm like, yeah, but I'm
- 19:33Speaker 2: starting to think that the definition of their goat is
- 19:37Speaker 2: different from our goat.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Like, for me and you, it's like, we're going to
- 19:41Speaker 2: do whatever it takes, you know, blood, sweat, and tears,
- 19:44Speaker 2: all that. But to them, it's like the same thing,
- 19:47Speaker 2: but also bitch and complain until you get what you.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Want yeah yeah for sure no because I mean LeBron
- 19:53Speaker 1: James it's Christ so much for fouls flop and you
- 19:57Speaker 1: didn't really say I mean it's funny because like Michael
- 19:59Speaker 1: Jordan never had to do that but he also had
- 20:01Speaker 1: the refs on his side a lot they're like amen
- 20:03Speaker 1: but he was like they he was on the side
- 20:04Speaker 1: because he was so good they're like in a.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah he's like they you we don't know what to do.
- 20:10Speaker 2: He's God. We can't, you know, black Jesus or whatever
- 20:13Speaker 2: they call him.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Um, what was I going to say too about that? Uh,
- 20:17Speaker 1: the thing about your joke, when you find out that
- 20:20Speaker 1: it's relatable, it's funny. Cause like you don't, you don't
- 20:23Speaker 1: go ahead. I'm sorry.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Well, I was just going to agree that it's relatable.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Yeah. And then also too, like when, um, cause you're like, Oh,
- 20:29Speaker 1: people do agree with me with this. I, cause you,
- 20:31Speaker 1: at first you don't think they do and they don't
- 20:33Speaker 1: like you. And I have a joke where I had
- 20:34Speaker 1: a joke where I know they don't like it, but
- 20:36Speaker 1: now I, maybe I could bring it back. But like, um,
- 20:39Speaker 1: Because I never really was a big fan of Will Smith.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I didn't like Will Smith. And I had this joke
- 20:44Speaker 1: about Will Smith because he had this movie called I, Robot. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And I am legend. And I go, yeah. He's got
- 20:51Speaker 1: this trilogy coming out. And the third installment is I suck.
- 20:56Speaker 1: And no one laughed. And no one liked it. And
- 20:58Speaker 1: then I was like, fuck. I kept doing it. And
- 21:00Speaker 1: then maybe now I can bring it back. But yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I'm sorry. OK, that's all right. I got sidetracked. I
- 21:05Speaker 1: got ADD'd out. All right, so boom. Speaking of LeBron,
- 21:10Speaker 1: here's the first question. What city did the Lakers play
- 21:13Speaker 1: in before L.A.? Wasn't it Minnesota? Yeah, Minnesota. Boom. Got it.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Off to a good start.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, look at you. Oh, okay.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Maybe weak in muscles, but strong in knowledge.
- 21:29Speaker 1: The best muscle to have. That and Russell, the one-eyed muscle. The...
- 21:38Speaker 1: Have you ever heard that one, or have you heard
- 21:40Speaker 1: that one? Eliana's only 20, so she hasn't heard all
- 21:44Speaker 1: these old-ass nasty ones yet. She just turned 20, actually.
- 21:47Speaker 1: She's brand new. Well, happy birthday. Yeah. Let's see. Okay,
- 21:54Speaker 1: how about this? This is geography.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Oh, fuck.
- 21:59Speaker 1: What's the capital of Nevada?
- 22:03Speaker 2: Reno.
- 22:04Speaker 1: No, it's not, but it's close. I only know two
- 22:10Speaker 1: cities in Vegas. It's either Vegas or Reno. Falcon? No, no, no.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It is Carson City.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Oh, that's going to be my next bet. Is that
- 22:21Speaker 2: where Carson Street came from? Because there's a Carson Street downtown.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Possibly.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Over by Fremont.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, no, but it's like, it's Reno, and it's like
- 22:32Speaker 1: a 20-minute drive to get to Carson City, and it's
- 22:34Speaker 1: this little, little town. It's so weird that, Most of
- 22:36Speaker 1: the capital cities and places are small towns, which we do.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Is it north?
- 22:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's right over there.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So, oh, how about this? Here's a movie trivia question.
- 22:48Speaker 1: What film did Robin Williams win an Oscar for? She's
- 22:55Speaker 1: just barely getting into film right now, so she's like.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Can we get a hint?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah. He won an Oscar for it. No, okay, the hint.
- 23:07Speaker 1: It's a Boston-esque movie. It's insanely Boston.
- 23:13Speaker 2: It's insanely Boston. Oh, fucking Good Will Hunt?
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:21Speaker 2: My favorite Rodney Williams movie is Patch Adams.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Patch, yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And I was like, could that be it? But then
- 23:29Speaker 2: I was like, that's not Boston. And then I was like,
- 23:32Speaker 2: Oh fuck. Goodwill hunt.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Of course. Yeah. Patch Adams should have won man. Patch
- 23:36Speaker 1: Adams was a really good movie. I don't think a
- 23:38Speaker 1: lot of people seen that.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Such a great movie.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Patch Adams. And, um, it's so funny cause I
- 23:43Speaker 1: would watch Patch Adams and Simon Birch a lot together.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Cause they came out like they have that same kind
- 23:47Speaker 1: of feel to me.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Um, Oh, yeah. That's with, uh, is that the one
- 23:51Speaker 2: with like the writer, John Goodman?
- 23:55Speaker 1: No, Simon Birch was with a little kid that had
- 23:57Speaker 1: a– I don't know. I can't remember what his disability was.
- 24:00Speaker 1: But the little boy was– he was off of– the
- 24:04Speaker 1: other little boy was off Jurassic Park. You know what
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm talking about? He was in everything. Joseph Manzino.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Was he in Sixth Sense?
- 24:12Speaker 1: No, that's another kid. Joseph– he's got an Italian last name,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but he was also on the social network too. But
- 24:19Speaker 1: this kid is– I like this guy. Yeah. What else
- 24:22Speaker 1: was he in? He was in– Radio Flyer. Do you
- 24:25Speaker 1: remember Radio Flyer?
- 24:27Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Radio Flyer is with Tom Hanks as the narrator, but
- 24:30Speaker 1: the little boy, Elijah Wood and this kid. And it's
- 24:33Speaker 1: such a sad movie because it's about a stepdad that
- 24:35Speaker 1: beats on the... It's so fucking sad as shit. Anyway,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I digress. But yeah, no. Why don't we
- 24:45Speaker 1: start talking about that guy?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Movies? He was in.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Oh, Simon Birch. Ashley Judd and shit and Oliver Platt.
- 24:53Speaker 1: It's a good movie. It's pretty cool. But like we're saying, too,
- 24:55Speaker 1: the Patch Adams is a good flick.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It's so great.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I've got to re-watch that, actually. We've got to look
- 25:04Speaker 1: at that, Eliana. Me and Eliana have been watching almost
- 25:07Speaker 1: like two movies a night. Oh, really? Yeah, that's why
- 25:11Speaker 1: we're tired. Do you have a theme? Each night is different.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Sometimes action.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Action is my favorite. But I like drama sometimes. Yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 1: it's a lot of action. Because I got tons of drama.
- 25:25Speaker 1: She wanted comedy last night. And I go, I don't
- 25:27Speaker 1: have any comedy. Because she smoked last night. So she
- 25:30Speaker 1: was like, yo, let's watch a high movie. And I
- 25:33Speaker 1: was like, I got a movie that will fuck your
- 25:34Speaker 1: head up. And I was like, no fucking way.
- 25:36Speaker 2: The entire time I was like, no way.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because I go, you're going to be, this is
- 25:40Speaker 1: fucking crazy. And we watched Sleepers.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Sleepers. I haven't seen that.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Oh, it's. I was like, oh, shit. Yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Have you seen, like, RRR or whatever?
- 25:53Speaker 1: No, I wanted to see it. The Hindi movie, yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Jay was like, it's a good high movie.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's, like, all over. Like, it's actually, like, Hidden
- 26:02Speaker 1: Crouching Tiger or Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Crouching Tiger. Go would have been great if I
- 26:07Speaker 2: was like Go.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Go would have been good, yeah. But you had already
- 26:12Speaker 1: seen Go. Yeah. We did a hell of hood movies
- 26:18Speaker 1: at one point.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Did you?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So she watched boys in the hood recently
- 26:22Speaker 1: and menace to society. Uh, what was it? Belly.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Um, I mean, it's training day. Would that be?
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah. That's like a, like a, like a, like a,
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't know, like hood, hood movies, higher learning. She
- 26:39Speaker 1: went and seen higher learning. Yeah. And those are like
- 26:40Speaker 1: the offshoots, like, like belly and higher learning are offshoot
- 26:42Speaker 1: hood movies, but like central hood movies, like south central
- 26:44Speaker 1: is a hood movie. Or even like East Coast hood movies,
- 26:46Speaker 1: like there's New Jersey Drive, Paid in Full. Dead Presidents
- 26:50Speaker 1: is kind of like an offshoot too as well. Have
- 26:52Speaker 1: you ever seen Dead Presidents? We're all big film buffs. Well,
- 26:55Speaker 1: she's becoming a big film buff now. She's got a website.
- 26:58Speaker 1: What is it? I do Letterboxd. She does Letterboxd.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 27:03Speaker 1: What? Oh, my God.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Well, I was kind of changing the subject.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I mean, it's still movies, but I recently just saw
- 27:11Speaker 2: Pay It Forwards.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, with Haley Joel Osment.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It's a sad movie, dude.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Kevin Spacey, yeah.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It's going up, and you think it's going to be good,
- 27:19Speaker 2: and then the kid gets stabbed, and you're like, what
- 27:23Speaker 2: the fuck?
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the kid from Sixth Sense.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Oh, is it?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Oh, so he was in, no, it wasn't. I was
- 27:34Speaker 2: going to say Secondhand Lions, but I don't think that
- 27:36Speaker 2: was him.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I think so, yeah, with Michael Caine, right? Yeah, Michael Caine. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 1: that's him, yeah. Haley Joel Osment, isn't it? Something like that.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But he's a, yeah, he's an adult. He's a full-on
- 27:47Speaker 1: ass adult now. Yeah, Sixth Sense is good. Okay, I'm sorry. Okay,
- 27:51Speaker 1: so here we go. Question four, rolling on four. We've
- 27:55Speaker 1: been going on.
- 27:55Speaker 2: How many?
- 27:56Speaker 1: There's ten. Oh, there's ten. Okay. Name three allied powers.
- 28:00Speaker 1: This is a history question. Like, who was on our
- 28:04Speaker 1: side during World War II?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Goddamn.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Dude, you're fucking... There's more than three, but you can
- 28:14Speaker 1: name three.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I'm just going to start with France.
- 28:20Speaker 1: France was one of them. There we go. We know
- 28:29Speaker 1: it wasn't the Germans for sure.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 1: It was the Germans. Un, the Germans. Un. Every time
- 28:37Speaker 1: I do that, I definitely channel the... Bugs Life, the guy, Heimlich.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm a beautiful butterfly.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Oh, the caterpillar?
- 28:47Speaker 1: Yeah, the caterpillar. Heimlich.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. Did that guy die?
- 28:53Speaker 1: Who? Which one?
- 28:54Speaker 2: The caterpillar dude, the guy that voiced him.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Possibly.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Because I think at the end of, like, Toy Story
- 29:00Speaker 2: or something, they would do all the characters that he voiced. They, like,
- 29:06Speaker 2: show scenes of all the characters that he voiced.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I know that.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Or it was, like, after Cars or something.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Okay, because I know Jim Varney died, who did the
- 29:14Speaker 1: dog voice. He was Ernest, you know, Ernest Goes to Jail,
- 29:18Speaker 1: Ernest Goes to Camp. Oh, really? Yeah, he was the
- 29:20Speaker 1: dog in Toy Story, the little slinky dog.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Oh, the slinky, yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 1: He's like, Woody, where are you going? That dude. You're
- 29:28Speaker 1: big into CGI and, like, the animation stuff.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of... I went to school for video games.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Shut the fuck up.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I didn't know that. Which I'm trying to come out
- 29:42Speaker 2: with a joke with that because that's like going to
- 29:46Speaker 2: divide university or going to Trump University and getting some degree.
- 29:52Speaker 2: But that's not a real.
- 29:56Speaker 2: You know?
- 29:56Speaker 1: Yeah. But I know that you're in. So that's okay. Well,
- 30:00Speaker 1: that explains a lot more. Dude, that's so interesting that
- 30:04Speaker 1: you went to school for video gaming. But I don't
- 30:07Speaker 1: ever hear you talk about games or gaming.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I try not to because I know one hour
- 30:12Speaker 2: can easily turn into three. And then that can easily
- 30:15Speaker 2: turn into five.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And your whole day is gone.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Oh, while you're playing? Yeah. Okay, okay.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a GameCube. I got a PS2, and
- 30:26Speaker 2: I got a Switch.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And that's, oh, shit, okay. So, a PS2? Yeah. Really?
- 30:30Speaker 1: You're behind, man.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Dude, I played the first Need for Speed Underground. I'm like,
- 30:36Speaker 2: these graphics kind of kick.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Ass. I got back into it. You're right, though. It's
- 30:42Speaker 1: like her mom, my wife, I didn't play for like
- 30:46Speaker 1: five years. I stopped playing. And, you know, I got
- 30:48Speaker 1: so much done. And then COVID happened, and then I
- 30:54Speaker 1: started playing with them. And I stopped playing Call of Duty,
- 30:57Speaker 1: but now I'm back in it, and I am fucking
- 30:59Speaker 1: in it. It shows you the thing that makes me
- 31:02Speaker 1: so upset and so sad that on the PlayStation 5,
- 31:04Speaker 1: it probably doesn't on the 4, most of them, I
- 31:06Speaker 1: just never noticed, but it'll say how many hours you
- 31:09Speaker 1: played this game particularly. And I was pissed. And I've seen,
- 31:14Speaker 1: I have like over 1,000 hours, maybe even more, 2,000 hours.
- 31:19Speaker 1: In Call of Duty.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 1: And I was like, holy shit. And then the Ark Raiders,
- 31:23Speaker 1: I just looked. I got 500 hours. I was like,
- 31:25Speaker 1: I need to write a joke, man. I need to
- 31:27Speaker 1: do something with my life.
- 31:29Speaker 2: That's how you met your wife, right? Through video games?
- 31:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Call of Duty?
- 31:33Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. I met her through Call of Duty. It's crazy.
- 31:35Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 31:35Speaker 2: You're like, I got the ultimate reward, so I don't
- 31:39Speaker 2: need to play video games anymore.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't need to level up. I don't need
- 31:41Speaker 1: a prestige. I'm good.
- 31:43Speaker 2: I'm golden.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 2: I already trapped myself.
- 31:46Speaker 1: But yeah, we're talking about the animation, because me and
- 31:48Speaker 1: you went and seen How to Train Your Dragon, the
- 31:50Speaker 1: live action.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved it.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good. It was great. One of the
- 31:54Speaker 1: best crossover ones, you know what I mean, the live action.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Because Disney tries to do it all the time. Disney
- 32:03Speaker 1: fucks it up all the time. I think maybe Jungle
- 32:05Speaker 1: Book was maybe the most decent one.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Well, the thing you told me was that it had
- 32:10Speaker 2: the same director.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And I think that's where they went right.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Because he's like, I did the animated one, so now
- 32:21Speaker 2: I need to turn it into real life. And I
- 32:26Speaker 2: think that's where. And then I also had Stoic was
- 32:31Speaker 2: George Butler, who voiced the dad. Yeah. So I think
- 32:34Speaker 2: that also helped.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I want to watch it again now. Because it's been
- 32:38Speaker 1: a minute.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Did you ever watch How to Train Your Dragons? No,
- 32:41Speaker 1: you didn't watch them? Oh, yeah. I like anime. I'm
- 32:43Speaker 1: not anime, but. We can't be friends. I know. Cause like,
- 32:48Speaker 1: I like, um, Pixar and all that stuff. Like everything. Like, um,
- 32:53Speaker 1: do you have a top three Pixar?
- 32:56Speaker 2: Uh, dude, I get it. So I get so many
- 33:02Speaker 2: animated movies. I'm just like through animated movies. I don't
- 33:05Speaker 2: give a shit who made them.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:08Speaker 2: So I forget, but dream works. It's how to train
- 33:10Speaker 2: your dragon.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Pixar. It's a story.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Um, who's concrete pandas.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Kung Fu Panda is DreamWorks. Do you have a top
- 33:22Speaker 1: Pixar or even like the animated things?
- 33:24Speaker 2: I mean, like Disney, yeah. Okay.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Like Disney, like Mulan, Princess and the Frog, like of course,
- 33:35Speaker 1: and then Emperor's Improvement. Emperor, okay. Oh, yeah, okay.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Emperor's Improvement. I'm looking, I'm just.
- 33:41Speaker 1: So for me, I would say from Pixar, yeah, definitely Wall-E.
- 33:46Speaker 1: up and um i i really liked the the hoppers
- 33:50Speaker 1: that came out but.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah did you see yeah no but i
- 33:54Speaker 2: remember you telling me about that it was so.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Good um and i'm trying to think of another one
- 34:00Speaker 1: it's either that or wait no big hero six was
- 34:03Speaker 1: disney it was dreamworks.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah it's pixar or disney hey.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they ended up buying it up, and then, yeah. Oh, well,
- 34:15Speaker 1: Bug's Life I just said, too.
- 34:17Speaker 2: All right, so, yeah. Is it DreamWorks?
- 34:21Speaker 1: No, or is it Pixar? No, it's Pixar. Pixar, yeah.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I'm going to have to go with Cars is up there.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Okay, Cars, okay.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 1: The ill-flated planes, that one sucked. Oh, yeah, it wasn't.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Planes sucked.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Lightyear, there's all right.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Lightyear, oh, yeah. Elemental.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Elemental.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I got through half of it, and I was like, eh.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Really?
- 34:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I thought it was a beautiful movie.
- 34:48Speaker 1: There was another one, too. What's another all-time? I mean,
- 34:51Speaker 1: we had Toy Story 1, 2, and 3. They say
- 34:53Speaker 1: Toy Story 2. Oh, Toy Story 3 is actually really good, unsurprisingly. Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Monster, Finding Nemo.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Scratch that. Incredibles. You've never seen Incredibles?
- 35:06Speaker 2: No.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Hey, the mom is thick as fuck, son. Elastigirl could
- 35:14Speaker 1: get it. Her and Jessica Rabbit.
- 35:17Speaker 2: That could stretch her out.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, right? Oh, shit. Okay, I'm sorry. I had
- 35:24Speaker 1: that good. Ally Powers. Ally Powers. Yes, Ally Powers. I
- 35:27Speaker 1: don't know how we got it.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Who makes it? Surf's Up?
- 35:34Speaker 1: I did like Surf's Up.
- 35:35Speaker 2: It's not Pixar. I'm trying to... Yeah, I think it's
- 35:39Speaker 2: a movie that people... It doesn't get enough recognition, I think.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it was so cool because it's shot like a documentary.
- 35:47Speaker 1: It's so funny. Yeah. Oh, Happy Feet. What's Happy Feet?
- 35:52Speaker 2: Happy Feet is.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Well, isn't... What's the one that you just said?
- 35:55Speaker 2: Isn't that like a.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Sky something, right? It's supposed to be like a knockoff
- 36:01Speaker 1: of Happy Feet, right?
- 36:02Speaker 2: Is it?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Like, because they came out around the same time? Yeah, no,
- 36:05Speaker 1: it was... But they're different... They are by different companies.
- 36:09Speaker 1: It's just penguins. It's all they are, just penguins. Really?
- 36:19Speaker 1: I didn't notice that either. You just watched it? That's awesome.
- 36:31Speaker 1: I got to see it. I got to re-watch it
- 36:32Speaker 1: again because I do like it. I do like that movie.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Did you rewatch it because we watched Point Break? I
- 36:37Speaker 1: made her watch Point Break the other day. Exactly like
- 36:40Speaker 1: Point Break. Because of surfing. He's like, surfers, that's who's
- 36:43Speaker 1: getting it.
- 36:43Speaker 2: All right, let's go back. Okay, well, I was going
- 36:48Speaker 2: to go back to the question.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Oh, what's what?
- 36:50Speaker 2: You guys sidetracked France.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's what you said, Allied Powers. Yeah, yeah. So,
- 36:55Speaker 1: Allied Powers, yes. What? What are they?
- 36:57Speaker 2: So, France.
- 36:59Speaker 1: France.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Nothing. Well, yeah, you just said it's not the Germans.
- 37:11Speaker 2: And I can't, for some reason, Jews are coming up.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But I'm like, that's not.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Yeah, they were a problem back in World War II.
- 37:21Speaker 1: And the podcast took a big turn. No.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Iran wasn't, right?
- 37:27Speaker 1: No, nuh-uh. Do you want to just give up on
- 37:31Speaker 1: this one and I'll give you the answer?
- 37:32Speaker 2: Kind of.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Okay. So it's the Allied Powers were the U.K., which
- 37:37Speaker 1: is England and the Soviet Union. Yeah, yeah. And then– yeah, yeah. Okay,
- 37:44Speaker 1: so boom. So fuck that question. All right. Next question.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Next question. Next question. What would be the main organ
- 37:52Speaker 1: in the central– I got to stop, huh? The circulatory system.
- 37:58Speaker 2: The main organ?
- 37:59Speaker 1: Yeah, in the circulatory system.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Do I get a lifeline?
- 38:01Speaker 1: Can you call that? That would be hella funny. We
- 38:03Speaker 1: should do a lifeline.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, I know a nurse I just called.
- 38:07Speaker 1: It's definitely an easy one. This is a real easy one.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Circulatory system. What's the main organ?
- 38:16Speaker 2: So, what, for, like, pumping your blood?
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yes, yeah. Boom. All right, there it is. There you go.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Give the man the point. Oh, what's your point? Oh,
- 38:23Speaker 1: your score's pretty good. Okay, we're halfway through. Nice. All right. Okay,
- 38:27Speaker 1: this is kind of a funny question. It's supposed to
- 38:29Speaker 1: lead in.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Let's go. I like it. I like it already.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Well, it's... Okay, so how many herbs and spices does
- 38:34Speaker 1: KFC original recipe have?
- 38:37Speaker 2: What the fuck? Dude, it's like I got to call
- 38:41Speaker 2: up Colonel Sanders to find out. Who the hell is
- 38:43Speaker 2: going to know that?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Everybody... Because it's always... Like, it's one of their main
- 38:47Speaker 1: staple things. Like, you know.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Is it really?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, they always say, like, you know... And the Colonel's... 75. No. It's...
- 38:57Speaker 1: Is it really?
- 38:57Speaker 2: Sorry, it's not super low.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's like that. You'll get it. I just know the question.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Who makes Minions? You just did this, and it
- 39:11Speaker 2: made me think of Minions.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Elimination. Oh, yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Elimination. And then also....
- 39:18Speaker 1: They do in the.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Are they?
- 39:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Well, they're not Dreamworks, but they're like... Universals.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Universal, okay, yeah. Because DreamWorks is done now. They went bankrupt.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Seven.
- 39:30Speaker 1: No, close though. It's 11.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But the funny thing about the question is like KFC,
- 39:36Speaker 1: it leads into this. KFC is on Twitter, right? And
- 39:39Speaker 1: they only follow 11 people.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Oh, that's so funny.
- 39:42Speaker 1: And it's all the Spice Girls and then a whole
- 39:45Speaker 1: bunch of dudes named Herb. Herbs and Spices. Eleven herbs
- 39:51Speaker 1: and spices.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Dude, have you, do you know about like Wendy's and
- 39:55Speaker 2: Twitter and their snapbacks?
- 39:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Have you seen their snapbacks?
- 39:57Speaker 1: Have you seen that too?
- 39:58Speaker 2: It's so, yeah.
- 39:59Speaker 1: They're so funny. So funny. Wendy's a little sassy. Here
- 40:05Speaker 1: we go.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Wendy's a little sassy bitch.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I'm telling you, they were talking shit about the Raiders quarterback.
- 40:10Speaker 1: It was hella funny. That guy that Gino Smith, they're like, hey,
- 40:13Speaker 1: you need a job? Because we let him go. Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 1: It was like, yeah, it's good. They like to talk shit.
- 40:18Speaker 1: All right, here, I have this. What's Pittsburgh's nickname? The city.
- 40:24Speaker 1: What's the nickname for the city?
- 40:28Speaker 2: I feel like I should know this. Steel?
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yes. The Steel City. Yes. The Steel City. Boom. There
- 40:37Speaker 1: you go.
- 40:37Speaker 2: It's in the name.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, here's a question. Another movie question. Trivia question. Actually,
- 40:43Speaker 1: we just got in talking about one of these movies.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Who directed Oscar award-winning Hurt Locker and Point Break?
- 40:51Speaker 2: I don't know directors. Oh, okay. I wish I did. But, like,
- 40:55Speaker 2: my friend would be like, hey, what about David Lynch?
- 40:59Speaker 2: You like David Lynch movies? I'm like, dude, I don't. Maybe.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I don't know. You know, I like movies. I just
- 41:06Speaker 2: like movies.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm a geek. I like to give everyone their credit. Sorry,
- 41:11Speaker 1: that's just me. David Finch? Oh, yeah, I like that.
- 41:15Speaker 1: That's a good act.
- 41:15Speaker 2: No, I was going to say, is that who? Did
- 41:18Speaker 2: I get that right?
- 41:18Speaker 1: Which one? Oh, the question.
- 41:19Speaker 2: No.
- 41:21Speaker 1: For which one? Which question?
- 41:22Speaker 2: The Hurt Locker one.
- 41:24Speaker 1: No, no, not yet. We're on question what? What is it, seven?
- 41:27Speaker 1: We're on eight. We're on question eight right now.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:30Speaker 1: But it's Catherine Bigelow. She's an awesome director. She also
- 41:35Speaker 1: directed Zero Dark Thirty, too.
- 41:36Speaker 2: You could be my next guest.
- 41:38Speaker 1: All right. Question number nine. History question. Who shot Abraham Lincoln?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Dave Cadeau or something.
- 41:47Speaker 1: What? Dave Cadeau? Dave Cadeau?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Oh, John Wilkes Booth, right?
- 41:55Speaker 1: Boom, there you go. Look at that, like a fucking champ.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I just remember in, have you seen Accepted?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that Justin Long flick.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and then Justin Long says something, and I thought
- 42:06Speaker 2: that was the question, and he was like, oh, that's
- 42:09Speaker 2: who shot Abraham Lincoln. Don't ask me how I know that,
- 42:12Speaker 2: but it was Dave Cattell or something. But it must
- 42:16Speaker 2: obviously have been someone else.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You ever seen Slumdog Millionaire?
- 42:19Speaker 2: I mean, a long time ago.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that's because like, have you ever seen it
- 42:22Speaker 1: or not? That's kind of like what the movie is
- 42:24Speaker 1: based on because it's like trivia. And as the guy
- 42:26Speaker 1: is giving him questions, he's going back in his memory
- 42:28Speaker 1: like you did. And that's why he knows the answer.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Slumdog Millionaire is awesome. Danny Boyle, director, he did it.
- 42:38Speaker 1: He did Trainspotting, The Beach, and 28 Days Later and
- 42:44Speaker 1: shit like that. Whoa.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I was going to tell you something. If I totally
- 42:49Speaker 2: spaced on it.
- 42:51Speaker 1: He'll come back.
- 42:52Speaker 2: All right, hopefully.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Okay, so Final Jeopardy. You can wager all five of
- 42:56Speaker 1: your points, or you can wager none. It's up to you.
- 42:59Speaker 1: But the trivia question is television. Oh, that's okay. So
- 43:08Speaker 1: how many points do you want to wager?
- 43:13Speaker 2: Television. Three.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Okay, three? All right, so for the final question, who
- 43:20Speaker 1: is the current host of Jeopardy? God damn it, dude. Yeah.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Why don't you have Mike Krasner on the show?
- 43:31Speaker 1: Oh, really? Mike Krasner would know all this?
- 43:33Speaker 2: Oh, dude, he spotted some dude that won Jeopardy in
- 43:36Speaker 2: the crowd at LA Comic Club.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Shut the fuck up.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's like, dude, you're like the reigning champion. Like,
- 43:42Speaker 2: he has it on his Instagram.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Then if that's the... Oh, okay, okay, if he's the
- 43:47Speaker 1: reigning champion. I was like... Because the guy that is...
- 43:50Speaker 1: The host of Jeopardy.
- 43:51Speaker 2: I think he won a bunch of times.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Yeah, he was like the most winning. I wonder if
- 43:56Speaker 1: that was him that was at the club.
- 43:57Speaker 2: I don't know. Patrick Swayze.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Patrick Swayze, okay. From the grave, long shot.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I don't even know. I can't even pretend to try.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Okay, it's Ken Jennings.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Yeah, the doctor?
- 44:11Speaker 1: No. What is that, his name?
- 44:16Speaker 2: I thought his name was Ken something, right?
- 44:20Speaker 1: Ken jong dr ken jong doctor yeah the hangover yeah
- 44:24Speaker 1: the comic yeah yeah he's really i got to meet

- 44:33Speaker 1: jack was like he goes he goes hey uh you're
- 44:35Speaker 1: gonna bring up uh dr ken jong i was like

- 44:38Speaker 1: right cool and i went over i was like hey
- 44:39Speaker 1: man what you want to say and he was like
- 44:41Speaker 1: oh just say whatever man you know it's all right it's.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Fine you worked at the burger hole.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah and he was like He was like, hey, man,
- 44:46Speaker 1: you did a great set. He was really, really nice.
- 44:49Speaker 1: He was super cool and super nice and a sweet dude.
- 44:52Speaker 1: So no one ever say shit about Dr. Kent. All right, cool. Okay, cool.
- 44:58Speaker 1: So there it is. What's your score? Your score was what? Oh,
- 45:02Speaker 1: you lost three, huh?
- 45:03Speaker 2: Like eight to one or something?
- 45:05Speaker 1: Yeah, because you lost three. All right, cool. Well, thank
- 45:10Speaker 1: you for coming on. Do you have any dates coming
- 45:12Speaker 1: up or anything where you're going to be at?
- 45:14Speaker 2: I'll be in Havasu on Wednesday. Let me get the date.
- 45:24Speaker 2: On Wednesday, May 6th. And then I'll be at Jimmy
- 45:28Speaker 2: Kimmel's on Thursday, May 30th. Or May 7th. What the fuck? Oh,
- 45:35Speaker 2: and then I'll be at Bonfire May 4th.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 45:39Speaker 2: And then I'll be in Kingman's May 30th. and Hammered
- 45:43Speaker 2: Harry's on May 28th. That was very bad. Because I
- 45:48Speaker 2: was like, I put one date, and then I backtracked
- 45:51Speaker 2: and did another. Like, they weren't in a row.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Oh, they weren't chronological.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Also, too, we're going to try to get you at
- 45:57Speaker 1: the mic drops, too, when I get out there as well,
- 46:00Speaker 1: either San Diego or if you want to make a
- 46:02Speaker 1: trip out to Plano. We'll probably try to make it
- 46:04Speaker 1: out to Plano one day. Or even, oh, you said
- 46:05Speaker 1: you were just at Chandler, too, as well. So we'll
- 46:08Speaker 1: try to go back there, because I haven't done Chandler yet. No? Yeah, yeah, so...
- 46:11Speaker 1: We'll go fuck around.
- 46:12Speaker 2: All right, yeah.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Cool.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Wait, wait. So you know... What's that? The thing about
- 46:17Speaker 2: channels is they have steps. That's the only thing that sucks.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I mean, I can get up them. I can get
- 46:22Speaker 2: up them.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Uh-huh. But, yeah. You're like, but only... That's the thing that's...
- 46:25Speaker 1: We can only do one show.
- 46:26Speaker 2: That's the only... That's the thing that sucks is it's
- 46:28Speaker 2: like there's such a simple thing, but it's also a
- 46:32Speaker 2: big obstacle.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Kind of, you know.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Well, you're doing good, man. You're fucking killing it. Out
- 46:38Speaker 1: here running around working and fucking kicking it.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Doing what I can.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yeah, right on. Well, thanks for coming on. You guys,
- 46:44Speaker 1: thank you so much for having us. We'll see you
- 46:47Speaker 1: next week.
