- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simon Show, Delivery the news before it is
- 0:04Speaker 1: on seven ten wor.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hey, we'll get to all the races last night. We'll
- 0:13Speaker 2: get to who won, who lost to uh well, we'll
- 0:16Speaker 2: get all of that coming up President Trump. Hey, and
- 0:19Speaker 2: by the way, if you just tuned in, just so
- 0:21Speaker 2: you know, we start at nine o'clock. Now the show
- 0:24Speaker 2: is now nine to noon. If you're just tuning in,
- 0:26Speaker 2: you missed the first hour. It's nine to noon every
- 0:30Speaker 2: day now here on seven to ten wor So. President
- 0:33Speaker 2: Trump has a new strategy when it comes to Iran,
- 0:39Speaker 2: Trump is now floating. They spoke with Actually we did
- 0:43Speaker 2: an interview on Real America's Voice.
- 0:46Speaker 3: You know what that is. It's okay, it's not a cable.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's you got Fox News, you got Newsmax. These are
- 0:55Speaker 2: the two big, you know, conservative cable. You got Five Business.
- 1:00Speaker 2: That's very good too, especially Cudlow. That's probably the best
- 1:04Speaker 2: show to be watching every day. In fact, I'll be
- 1:06Speaker 2: on that today. But then you got these other things
- 1:09Speaker 2: called I can't remember what they're called. There's like Real
- 1:13Speaker 2: America's Voice, there's another one called One America Net. I
- 1:18Speaker 2: mean they got old. These are the like the little ones.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And sometimes they will, you know, some of those shows
- 1:25Speaker 2: on there will call me to be on and I'll
- 1:27Speaker 2: say no. So I don't know why. I don't know
- 1:28Speaker 2: why President Trump is doing it, but he likes to
- 1:31Speaker 2: do interviews.
- 1:32Speaker 3: He does a lot of interviews. All right.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Some of you were saying, Hey, I've seen you on
- 1:36Speaker 2: those shows on Real America's Voice and the One Net
- 1:39Speaker 2: or whatever. Yeah, once in a while, because I'm always
- 1:44Speaker 2: working on my TV setup at home. You know, get
- 1:46Speaker 2: your little TV studio. You can do a lot of
- 1:48Speaker 2: shows from there. So if I got to test a
- 1:50Speaker 2: lighting or a new microphone, that's why you do it,
- 1:52Speaker 2: just to test it. I shouldn't have said that on
- 1:54Speaker 2: the ear. But he's on this Real America's Voice, he said.
- 1:58Speaker 2: When it comes to Iran, he's looking at it. If
- 2:00Speaker 2: you easy relaxed war phase, I don't know what that is,
- 2:07Speaker 2: an easy relaxed war phase. Trump said an interview that
- 2:12Speaker 2: he's frustrated with the rans devious negotiators and felt that
- 2:18Speaker 2: he could try to bop along.
- 2:21Speaker 3: That's a quote.
- 2:22Speaker 2: He'll bop along and win the conflict through financial leverage. Okay,
- 2:28Speaker 2: now this sounds terrible. This sounds like the dumbest worst
- 2:31Speaker 2: war strategy ever. Makes it sound like he doesn't know
- 2:34Speaker 2: what the hell he's doing. But it's Donald Trump, so
- 2:38Speaker 2: behind that is probably some incredible strategy. Probably knows exactly
- 2:42Speaker 2: what he's doing here. But he says, we could just
- 2:45Speaker 2: keep it alone. I don't know what that means. We
- 2:50Speaker 2: just just keep it alone, he said, and they're going
- 2:52Speaker 2: to fail. We could just keep you know, doing sort
- 2:55Speaker 2: of like nice and easy, relaxed. These are quotes. I'm
- 3:00Speaker 2: sort of negotiating. You see, they're very devious negotiators. They'll
- 3:04Speaker 2: agree to something, then they'll go out and tell the
- 3:07Speaker 2: press they never agreed to it. They're very dishonest people. Now,
- 3:11Speaker 2: he said, the other option has hit them really really hard. Okay,
- 3:14Speaker 2: well that's the option most people want. But he said
- 3:17Speaker 2: the other option is just beat them economically, which we're doing.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And he said again here was just bop along. He's
- 3:25Speaker 2: got to stop saying bop along, just bop along. And
- 3:28Speaker 2: look how bad they're doing because they're nations. They got
- 3:31Speaker 2: three hundred percent inflation, the currency has no value at all.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They're not paying their soldiers, they're hang on. That's the
- 3:41Speaker 2: president now yelling at it.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Where was they?
- 3:44Speaker 2: They're not paying their soldiers, Their soldiers are leaving, deserting,
- 3:51Speaker 2: so just keep this up. It's not sustainable for them.
- 3:54Speaker 2: The country is poised to just collapse. Yeah, all right,
- 4:02Speaker 2: I don't know. It doesn't sound good. It doesn't sound good,
- 4:04Speaker 2: but who knows. You never know with him. With him,
- 4:07Speaker 2: he just sees things down the road nobody else can see,
- 4:09Speaker 2: so it might. I don't think it sounds terrible, but
- 4:14Speaker 2: that's checking a month and see if he was right.
- 4:15Speaker 2: The whole place is collapsing, three hundred percent inflation. People
- 4:20Speaker 2: just regular citizens now are forced to go into stores
- 4:22Speaker 2: and just steal food. You know, this is the Supreme
- 4:26Speaker 2: Leadership Council, which is a bunch of guys hiding in
- 4:28Speaker 2: a cave they're out of They don't have an air force,
- 4:32Speaker 2: they don't have a navy, they don't have anything. So
- 4:34Speaker 2: it's possible. When he says do this for a couple
- 4:37Speaker 2: of months, I think he's talking about through the midterms.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Just get through the midterms, and then he can do
- 4:43Speaker 2: whatever the hell he wants. You can just level the
- 4:45Speaker 2: whole place after that, But you never know if it
- 4:48Speaker 2: just collapses completely. Now you might say, well, Russia keep
- 4:51Speaker 2: supplying them, China, We'll keep supplying. Well, it's not going
- 4:55Speaker 2: to work because we took out all the railroads in
- 4:58Speaker 2: that last round. We just took away all their railroad lines.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Got no way to get stuff in there. So and
- 5:04Speaker 2: by the way, President Trump now jumping in on the
- 5:07Speaker 2: Pieta terror tax, he finally has said something about it,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and he said it's just the dumbest, stupidest, amateur hour move.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's a dangerous political experiment to just target people and
- 5:21Speaker 2: to try to tax them out of New York. He said,
- 5:23Speaker 2: it will destroy was once a great state and city.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It's pure amateur hour. He also said the federal government
- 5:31Speaker 2: will now look into it. It may be a totally
- 5:33Speaker 2: illegal tax. The court here in New York has stopped
- 5:37Speaker 2: it and temporarily and is looking at it. But it
- 5:40Speaker 2: may be it just may be a totally illegal thing,
- 5:44Speaker 2: and maybe the federal government can shut it down. But
- 5:46Speaker 2: you probably will never see that Pieta tear tax. You
- 5:49Speaker 2: got to remember, whenever Mom Donnie promises anything, you're never
- 5:52Speaker 2: going to live to see it. You'll never see free
- 5:55Speaker 2: buses in New York. You will never see a government
- 5:57Speaker 2: grocery store. They'll never get one open, and you will
- 6:00Speaker 2: never probably probably never see this Pieta tear at tax.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It was a rough thing for people to all of
- 6:07Speaker 2: a sudden hear about it, because half the people don't
- 6:09Speaker 2: know what the hell a Pieta terr attacks is a
- 6:12Speaker 2: Pieta terror attacks. You know, most people are running around
- 6:15Speaker 2: looking for a dictionary trying to look up Pieta terror
- 6:17Speaker 2: whatever the hell that. It sounds like something you'd order
- 6:19Speaker 2: in a French restaurant. The Pieta terror attacks. Also, lots
- 6:25Speaker 2: of stuff going on all over the place. CNN now
- 6:29Speaker 2: on the warpath because of El Sayad.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You know this.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know his name is what is his actual name,
- 6:37Speaker 2: abdul Achmann El Sayad. So some people are saying his
- 6:45Speaker 2: full name. CNN going crazy saying this is an anti
- 6:50Speaker 2: Muslim attack. By using his full name, it's anti Muslim. Well,
- 6:54Speaker 2: you know they did that with Obama when the President Trump,
- 6:57Speaker 2: he'd say Barak Whussein Obama, that's his name. Well, you're
- 7:02Speaker 2: saying it just to cause him problems. Well, yeah, I
- 7:06Speaker 2: guess you could. They did that with a Bush senior.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You know, they always called them George Herbert walker Bush,
- 7:13Speaker 2: trying to make them sound like some preppy, you know,
- 7:16Speaker 2: prep school, Ivy League, out of touch elite, waspy elite,
- 7:23Speaker 2: George Herbert walker Bush and trying to make them sound
- 7:26Speaker 2: like one of those vineyard vine type idiots.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And it worked.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It worked with some people. So it's fair to say
- 7:34Speaker 2: somebody's full name. If it's his name, you should be
- 7:37Speaker 2: able to say it. You see that story about Mark Zuckerberg.
- 7:39Speaker 2: He's got this incredible yacht, three hundred million dollar yacht,
- 7:44Speaker 2: three hundred million for this yacht. You know, most of
- 7:48Speaker 2: these guys only use the yacht in the summer, and
- 7:51Speaker 2: usually for a month like August, everybody uses their yacht
- 7:54Speaker 2: for the month, and then maybe Christmas they use the yacht.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Maybe there's another vacation with go out on the yacht
- 8:01Speaker 2: three hundred million for like six weeks a year, five
- 8:04Speaker 2: six weeks a year, you know, for about two million,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you get just charted the yacht for the month. But
- 8:10Speaker 2: he's out on a three hundred million dollar yacht. But
- 8:12Speaker 2: you got to remember, if you're worth four hundred billion,
- 8:17Speaker 2: three hundred million, that's like thirty dollars. That's all it
- 8:20Speaker 2: is to you. So he's out in the yacht. You know,
- 8:23Speaker 2: on a yacht that size, you got a crew of
- 8:25Speaker 2: probably twenty five people, and there's a ship in trouble.
- 8:31Speaker 2: There's a small ship that's in trouble sending out calls
- 8:34Speaker 2: that they're stranded. And when you're out there, you're supposed
- 8:38Speaker 2: to help any other ship that needs help that puts
- 8:40Speaker 2: out a distress call. But the Zuckerberg yacht didn't bother.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It was a twenty one foot skiff that ran out
- 8:47Speaker 2: of fuel and was stranded. This is off the coast
- 8:49Speaker 2: of Alaska, and you're supposed to help the other ship,
- 8:54Speaker 2: but they didn't. The Zuckerberg three hundred million dollar yacht
- 8:58Speaker 2: couldn't be bothered, and they kept going. Zuckerberg is now
- 9:01Speaker 2: defending the crew, saying they did not hear the radio call.
- 9:05Speaker 2: They were on a different radio channel, monitoring another channel.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Everybody pointing out it's the default emergency radio frequency. All
- 9:14Speaker 2: boats are expected to monitor it at all times. However,
- 9:20Speaker 2: Zuckerberg is saying, you must answer a distress call, but
- 9:26Speaker 2: this was a request for help, not a distress call,
- 9:30Speaker 2: and he's saying it's a different category. They didn't have
- 9:33Speaker 2: to answer that. It just sounds pretty cheesy three hundred
- 9:37Speaker 2: million dollar yacht letting this little twenty one foot skiff
- 9:40Speaker 2: suffer out there. There's actually no legal obligation that you
- 9:45Speaker 2: have to help, but it's just considered normal procedure that
- 9:50Speaker 2: you help. But that's that's Zuckerberg for you. Now, last
- 9:55Speaker 2: night you got a lot of things happening election wise.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You had Governor Lamont winning the primary. He will seek
- 10:02Speaker 2: re election.
- 10:02Speaker 3: A lot of other parties around the country.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Nobody needs to hear him. Now in this November he'll
- 10:08Speaker 2: be Lamont against the Republican candidate Ryan Fazzio. Fazzio is
- 10:13Speaker 2: a very good guy. He'd be a great governor, great
- 10:16Speaker 2: Republican governor. So in November, vote for Fazzio, get rid
- 10:20Speaker 2: of this Lamont. Lamont sometimes is a good governor, but
- 10:24Speaker 2: half the time he goes crazy, woke and does all
- 10:27Speaker 2: kinds of crazy things. Our buddy Mike Lindell, he lost
- 10:31Speaker 2: in Minnesota, did not get the nomination.
- 10:34Speaker 3: If we don't find anything, you know, then obviously I
- 10:39Speaker 3: will get behind.
- 10:40Speaker 2: And now he's going to start looking at the votes.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You know, this is not a good idea for Lindell.
- 10:44Speaker 2: You know, Lindell was quite the wealthy guy. My Pillow
- 10:47Speaker 2: was quite a successful company, Great Pillows, Big Spot. I
- 10:50Speaker 2: think they were our single biggest advertiser here and they
- 10:53Speaker 2: spent a ton of money. Remember how many my Pillow
- 10:56Speaker 2: ads there were. Well, he got into that dominion election
- 11:00Speaker 2: fraud and it cost him a lot of money. He
- 11:04Speaker 2: got sued like crazy, and all you know, everything went wrong,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and I don't think there's that much money now in
- 11:09Speaker 2: Lindell world. I think my Pillow suffered financial everybody suffered financially,
- 11:15Speaker 2: And in fact, I think he's pretty much had a
- 11:19Speaker 2: step down from my pillow. He I think owns a
- 11:22Speaker 2: piece of it, but it's not running it anymore. But
- 11:26Speaker 2: a sign of what I'm saying is Lindell did not
- 11:29Speaker 2: spend much running for governor. He was outspent like eleven
- 11:32Speaker 2: to one. But he's now talking about he shouldn't do
- 11:35Speaker 2: this again. He's going to look at the votes, and
- 11:38Speaker 2: he doesn't. He's not conceding just yet. Well like ninety
- 11:42Speaker 2: eight percent of the vote is in Lindell lost by
- 11:45Speaker 2: eleven points. That's not even close. So I think he
- 11:49Speaker 2: should just give that up and move on. The wacko
- 11:53Speaker 2: in Wisconsin Hong, the one who want to ban, Thanksgiving ban,
- 11:58Speaker 2: this ban, that ban, everything you'll like hang was defeated,
- 12:02Speaker 2: So that's good news. Wisconsin got rid of their woke
- 12:06Speaker 2: socialist idiot. However, that's not the same thing in Minnesota.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And Minnesota they did vote in one of these wacko
- 12:13Speaker 2: socialists in the primary, so not a good sign. But
- 12:17Speaker 2: most likely Amy Klobcher will win and be the next
- 12:21Speaker 2: governor of Minnesota, and then you'll see Tim Waltz out
- 12:26Speaker 2: of office. I don't know what the hell that guy's
- 12:28Speaker 2: going to do. One silly, wacky guy. Probably, you know
- 12:32Speaker 2: when we say I don't know what he's gonna do.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Whenever you say that, especially politician, anybody, whenever they leave,
- 12:39Speaker 2: see I don't know what he's going to do. Well,
- 12:40Speaker 2: I know what he's going It's going to be a podcast.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Everybody ends up with a podcast. Look at this, the
- 12:46Speaker 2: Obamas are back. You remember Michelle Obama had that podcast
- 12:50Speaker 2: that was just awful, just a disaster. It was the
- 12:54Speaker 2: worst podcast ever. It was Michelle Obama rambling about nothing.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You know, she looks, it's very classy when you see
- 13:01Speaker 2: her up there, she looks very distinguished, looks classy. It
- 13:04Speaker 2: looks when you hear this podcast, you realize this is
- 13:07Speaker 2: a bubblehead who's got absolutely nothing to say, nothing to say,
- 13:12Speaker 2: not that bright, absolutely no personality, and nothing to say.
- 13:16Speaker 2: So they're coming back to the Obama's but this time
- 13:18Speaker 2: it'll be Barack Obama with her because he's a much
- 13:21Speaker 2: better talker. Obviously, the new podcast will debut. Now, what
- 13:26Speaker 2: do you think they're going to be doing? The Barack
- 13:28Speaker 2: Obama Michelle podcast. It'll be about great books.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Now.
- 13:36Speaker 2: He said people don't read like they used to read,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and he wants to get people reading again. It will
- 13:42Speaker 2: focus on great Well, if people don't do something anymore,
- 13:46Speaker 2: it's because they don't want to do it anymore. And
- 13:48Speaker 2: if they really don't want to do it anymore, the
- 13:49Speaker 2: last thing they're looking for is a podcast about something
- 13:52Speaker 2: they don't like. But it's going to be about six
- 13:55Speaker 2: great books. He will focus on the six great books.
- 13:58Speaker 2: The podcast will be called a Great Book with Barack Obama.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Hell of a title.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Huh the books?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Let me see what the books are? The Fire Next
- 14:08Speaker 2: Time by James Baldwin, Song of Solomon by Tony Morrison.
- 14:16Speaker 2: See these are all Barack Obama type books. Tinker Taylor,
- 14:20Speaker 2: Soldier spy that's John Lecare who's a great British spy writer. Okay,
- 14:25Speaker 2: it's a good book, but you know what, rather watch
- 14:27Speaker 2: a James Bond movie than read that thing. All the
- 14:30Speaker 2: King's Men by Robert Penwarren. That's a classic about Hughey Long,
- 14:34Speaker 2: you know, southern politician. But again, if you're not in politics,
- 14:38Speaker 2: you really don't.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Want to read that.
- 14:40Speaker 2: These are extremely outdated books. This is a recipe for
- 14:44Speaker 2: disaster this podcast. So remember when you were in high school,
- 14:49Speaker 2: you were they make you read these books and you
- 14:51Speaker 2: didn't know what the hell you were reading. They made
- 14:54Speaker 2: you read these books. Remember one of them was what
- 14:56Speaker 2: the hell was that book called Silas Marner? Remember that,
- 15:02Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell I was reading? And
- 15:04Speaker 2: you had to take a test on it, like so
- 15:06Speaker 2: you had to pretend to read it, and then you'd
- 15:09Speaker 2: get the cliff notes. And even in the cliff notes,
- 15:11Speaker 2: you couldn't figure out what the hell this book was
- 15:12Speaker 2: about or why you were reading it. And they talk
- 15:15Speaker 2: about what a great important literature, this, what a novel
- 15:19Speaker 2: it some ofst boring, stupid. You notice you never saw
- 15:21Speaker 2: a movie Silas Marner. There may have been one, but
- 15:24Speaker 2: you notice totally bumped because there's nothing there. Hey, we'll
- 15:28Speaker 2: take some calls.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Next. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is
- 15:32Speaker 3: the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 15:38Speaker 3: is mister New York Mark simone one ten.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Wohr, Wow, listen voice, that's that's the great Jim Kerr there.
- 15:49Speaker 2: When he puts that voice way down the line, Folks
- 15:52Speaker 2: like that, that's very impressive. But hey, we'll take some calls.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven tens. Let's get
- 15:59Speaker 2: some new callers. Eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 16:05Speaker 2: to ten. Let's go to Jack in Boston. Jack, how
- 16:08Speaker 2: you doing?
- 16:09Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, It's been years since you and I
- 16:12Speaker 4: have talked.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Years year.
- 16:14Speaker 2: By the way, let me just explain for the audience,
- 16:16Speaker 2: my name up there in Boston is Mock.
- 16:19Speaker 4: That's correct, but Mack, and they have you what the
- 16:22Speaker 4: school in Boston? Mock. I know people that know you.
- 16:25Speaker 4: You went to school in Boston.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, in Boston they make everything hard for these people
- 16:29Speaker 2: to pronounce this. The famous Star Market is the big
- 16:32Speaker 2: food chain and put up there it's the Star Market.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Yeah, Mack, it's not Star, it's Star, the.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Style Market and the Star twenty four and it's not coffee.
- 16:43Speaker 4: It's coffee. Like you say people from New York. I
- 16:47Speaker 4: always say coffee.
- 16:47Speaker 3: It's coffee, all right, but.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Coffee not corf. There's no iron coffee.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I got from the Midwest actually originally, but I guess
- 16:56Speaker 2: I've picked up a little New York accent.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Make I used to your show on Saturday What Happened?
- 17:01Speaker 3: I remember the show, Oh, Saturday Night. That was the
- 17:03Speaker 3: oldie show. Yeah, the music show, the oldie show.
- 17:06Speaker 4: When you do you remember when you had the host
- 17:08Speaker 4: of Hollywood Square is on. He was ninety years old
- 17:11Speaker 4: at the time, about fifteen years ago.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Peter Marshall's name Peter Marshall, Peter Marshall or as you
- 17:15Speaker 2: guys saying, Peter Marshall.
- 17:19Speaker 4: He was ninety at the time.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he was a great.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Did he pass away?
- 17:25Speaker 3: I think he's still alive.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But you know what, go to any when you go
- 17:28Speaker 2: to a podcast app, just type in Peter Marshall. He
- 17:30Speaker 2: does a lot of podcasts. He is one of the
- 17:32Speaker 2: most funniest storytellers. Tell us the greatest show business stories. Good.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Just google Peter Marshall on a podcast and look for him.
- 17:41Speaker 2: What do you want to say?
- 17:42Speaker 4: One of the great game show hosts of all time too.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Macau's not a good thing that Hong lost. I'll tell
- 17:48Speaker 4: you why, because Tiffany, who was going to be the
- 17:52Speaker 4: who was going to be the governor of Wisconsin, would
- 17:54Speaker 4: have thrashed her big time. He would have won by
- 17:56Speaker 4: twenty points. Now the other guy, Crowley is going to
- 17:59Speaker 4: be Tiffany because he's a woke Democrat. He's a file
- 18:02Speaker 4: left Democrat, and he's part of the establishment. It was
- 18:05Speaker 4: bad that you just said that it's a good thing
- 18:08Speaker 4: harm lost. It's a bad thing that still lost.
- 18:11Speaker 2: We don't want to see any of these honks around.
- 18:12Speaker 2: We just want to get rid of these honks.
- 18:15Speaker 3: We don't.
- 18:16Speaker 4: We need more normal people in these offices.
- 18:19Speaker 3: In Boston, you got the most wacko left wing mayor governors.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Please don't don't get me sick. Don't They just passed
- 18:25Speaker 4: an abortion a lot. You can have an abortion up
- 18:27Speaker 4: until nine months. It's so it's so sickening. I know
- 18:30Speaker 4: you're a pro choice, but I don't. I don't believe
- 18:32Speaker 4: in abortion at nine months. And this whole state doesn't
- 18:36Speaker 4: do Jack.
- 18:37Speaker 3: There's a lot of problem. I think you're gonna need
- 18:39Speaker 3: to worry about but.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Please, Mack, this is this is an awful, awful state,
- 18:44Speaker 4: just like New York State. It's just and do you know,
- 18:47Speaker 4: have have have Bruce Blakeman on as much as you
- 18:49Speaker 4: can mock.
- 18:50Speaker 3: We do we do?
- 18:51Speaker 4: We do?
- 18:52Speaker 3: We do? Anyway, it's only a three hours.
- 18:56Speaker 2: You got to stop at some point. Anyway, great talking you.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I just want to make for calling callmore often. Let's
- 19:01Speaker 2: go to uh Bob in the beautiful Naples, Florida. Bob,
- 19:05Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:07Speaker 5: Yep, it's beautiful. Well I got something to say about this.
- 19:11Speaker 5: So this bopping around Iran, it is that's a smacking
- 19:18Speaker 5: of face to American people, which we're toldos of four
- 19:20Speaker 5: weeks by week war. Now we're into seven miles.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Right, let's not get let's around, let's let's not get
- 19:25Speaker 2: carried away. It's not a smack in the face to
- 19:27Speaker 2: the American people. It sounded like a Democrat now, hyperbolic, hysterical.
- 19:33Speaker 2: It's a dumb thing for the president to say. You
- 19:35Speaker 2: shouldn't say, uh, We're going to have an easy, relaxed
- 19:38Speaker 2: word and we're bopping. That's kind of dumb. I wouldn't
- 19:40Speaker 2: have said it. But it's not a slap in the
- 19:42Speaker 2: face to the American PIA getting rid of Iran's nuclear
- 19:45Speaker 2: stuff and finally stopping their terrorist activities. It's it's still
- 19:50Speaker 2: a good thing. Let's go to Mitch in Iowa. Mitch,
- 19:53Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:55Speaker 6: Hey good, marquee. I was talking about some books here
- 19:58Speaker 6: with my wife and I. Do you remember that Bill
- 20:01Speaker 6: O'Reilly wrote a novel called Those Who Trespass?
- 20:05Speaker 3: No idea.
- 20:06Speaker 6: It's actually really good.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Okay, what sounds good. He's a good writer. He writes
- 20:10Speaker 3: some good books. What do you do?
- 20:11Speaker 6: I don't know why he doesn't write more.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Well, he's got another book coming out. It's called Confronting America.
- 20:17Speaker 6: That's yeah, but I mean novels anyway.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I like nonfiction books better. What do you do in Iowa?
- 20:24Speaker 6: I'm retired?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Oh what did you do?
- 20:28Speaker 6: I was in a tech business.
- 20:32Speaker 2: They have tech in Iowa. I can't believe that. Oh
- 20:35Speaker 2: my god, what like a butter churn or something? What
- 20:37Speaker 2: kind of tech do they have?
- 20:38Speaker 1: It was?
- 20:39Speaker 3: It was wireless wireless in Iowa. Look at you people. Yeah,
- 20:42Speaker 3: you're really progressing there.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I like that. All right, thanks for calling Mitch. Take care.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark. Before I get to my main point,
- 20:53Speaker 1: the only problem with this relaxed war is the gas
- 20:57Speaker 1: companies are not really taking hair foot off the gas.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they are.
- 21:01Speaker 1: A little record prop is four forty nine a gallop
- 21:06Speaker 1: for record.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's New York. It's it's not it's not that
- 21:08Speaker 2: much everywhere else. That's that's all New York state and
- 21:10Speaker 2: local tax.
- 21:11Speaker 1: All right? Does everyone speak it about right now?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Eighty two dollars a barrel, which is it's not really low,
- 21:18Speaker 2: but it's not really high either.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It's okay speaking about presidents and senators and wives of
- 21:26Speaker 1: mayors and wives of presidents abusing the office. Does anybody
- 21:31Speaker 1: remember the summer before Barack Obama's mandate was over, Michelle
- 21:36Speaker 1: went on a vacation and she took thirty guests with
- 21:40Speaker 1: Art on what was it Air Force one or one
- 21:43Speaker 1: of the Air Force planes?
- 21:45Speaker 3: And yeah, you're right, you're right, good point. No complaining
- 21:48Speaker 3: about that from the press.
- 21:50Speaker 1: That's Oprah Winfrey was on that. I mean, Oprah Winfrey
- 21:53Speaker 1: could pay for everybody else. But that was all on
- 21:56Speaker 1: the arm.
- 21:57Speaker 2: But den't be honest, if you were married to Michelle Obama,
- 22:00Speaker 2: wouldn't you want her to take a long vacation.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I definitely will mention the Alvin the Chipmunk's wife.
- 22:08Speaker 1: That's what Michelle Obama looks like to me. She looks
- 22:11Speaker 1: like she stored a bunch of peanuts in her team.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Thanks for calling, Vincent, good call. Yeah, Now it's if
- 22:21Speaker 2: you were married to her. You can see that look
- 22:22Speaker 2: in Obama's face that she must be as much as
- 22:26Speaker 2: a pain in the next years in public, imagine in private. Hey,
- 22:29Speaker 2: when we come back, we'll talk to Roger Friedman, the
- 22:32Speaker 2: Great Entertainment Report. Now, what's going on with all these guys?
- 22:35Speaker 2: You know, we love them all, but they're getting too
- 22:37Speaker 2: old to tour, and you know we'll get the Rod
- 22:40Speaker 2: Stewart and Frankie Valley and all of those. Also, there's
- 22:44Speaker 2: a new Carly Simon album and we got a lot
- 22:47Speaker 2: to talking about. We'll do that next on seven to
- 22:49Speaker 2: ten wo R marm Live from the WR Life Back Studio. Well,
- 22:58Speaker 2: Roger Friedman, the Great enter Reporter, You should check out
- 23:01Speaker 2: his website. A lot of great stories there, Showbiz for
- 23:04Speaker 2: one one dot com and this new stuff every day
- 23:07Speaker 2: Showbiz for one one dot com.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Roger Friedman, how you doing I'm great. I'm getting ready
- 23:14Speaker 3: for the solar eclips today. Is that today? Yeah, it's
- 23:19Speaker 3: at one o'clock, one o'clock today. You can watch it
- 23:22Speaker 3: on CNN and everywhere. One o'clock this afternoon. Yeah, one
- 23:26Speaker 3: o'clock this afternoon. Can I see your solary clips all
- 23:29Speaker 3: over North America? And I can see it in Manhattan
- 23:32Speaker 3: to Europe? I think you can see yes, I think
- 23:35Speaker 3: you can see it. Yeah.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Oh, because at one o'clock this afternoon, I'm m seeing
- 23:39Speaker 2: a luncheon which is which is? But it's very high
- 23:44Speaker 2: up at the top of a skyscraper and it's a
- 23:47Speaker 2: fantastic all windows. So are you telling me it's going
- 23:50Speaker 2: to get dark in the middle of that?
- 23:52Speaker 3: I know. But you have to bring your little glasses,
- 23:55Speaker 3: you know, the uh oh, the special glasses that you
- 23:58Speaker 3: look through because you don't want to look direct at
- 24:00Speaker 3: the sun. Yeah, otherwise you'll have a problem. But you
- 24:03Speaker 3: know that. Carly Simon sang about that about taking your
- 24:09Speaker 3: lyric jet up to the DEVI scull. Wait, I'll tell
- 24:12Speaker 3: you what's the song You're So Vain? That was the
- 24:14Speaker 3: song You're So Vain? Yeah, And she has a new
- 24:17Speaker 3: album coming out tomorrow. Night at Midnight for her first
- 24:20Speaker 3: album in eighteen years, and it's fabulous. It's got already
- 24:24Speaker 3: got two hits on it and it's getting rave reviews. Now.
- 24:28Speaker 2: There's one song where she sort of says about James Taylor,
- 24:31Speaker 2: I never really loved you?
- 24:32Speaker 3: Is that true? She says? The question is yeah, she says,
- 24:36Speaker 3: did I really love you? Did you really love me?
- 24:40Speaker 3: It's a cool song. Actually, it's very it's as you
- 24:42Speaker 3: can imagine, it's very catchy because that's a Carly Simon melody.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I still can't imagine Carly Simon married to James Taylor.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You to be honest about it, I just can't say.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Ten eleven years. Yeah, what was that? They have two children,
- 24:55Speaker 3: there's several grandchildren, and I know it's hard to believe,
- 24:59Speaker 3: but it happened. So she's got a new album coming out.
- 25:01Speaker 3: How does her voice sound? Her voice sounds perfect. She
- 25:05Speaker 3: couldn't sound better. Uh, it's it's an album full of
- 25:09Speaker 3: hits and it's called Comes Comes in Waves, and I
- 25:16Speaker 3: think people are really gonna like it. And already the
- 25:19Speaker 3: response to the first two songs. One song is called
- 25:21Speaker 3: Peaches and one song is called Hell which I call
- 25:25Speaker 3: which has a great line and called love a Liar.
- 25:29Speaker 3: But it's it's already happening on Amazon and actually comes
- 25:34Speaker 3: out at midnight tomorrow night. But in the meantime, you
- 25:37Speaker 3: can fly your leer jet up to Nova Scotia. Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Now that song, you're so vain. We're pretty sure it
- 25:43Speaker 2: was Warren Baty. Has that been I think so, don't you?
- 25:47Speaker 2: I think it is. But she's always been cagey about it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Sometimes she said it's about it's three different.
- 25:52Speaker 3: People, yeah, combined, but it is one of the great
- 25:59Speaker 3: you know, Taylor Swift points to these songs. Now you
- 26:02Speaker 3: have to guess who they're about. But the original person
- 26:04Speaker 3: who did it was Carly Yeah, you know, she was
- 26:07Speaker 3: really uh and and tell us Swift, you know, revers
- 26:11Speaker 3: her so much that she's asked her to come be
- 26:14Speaker 3: on stage with her to sing here. So then really,
- 26:17Speaker 3: which is pretty interesting. Yes, she's done it several times. Yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Now some of these so that's so it's a big
- 26:23Speaker 3: music week. Yeah.
- 26:24Speaker 2: But some of these older artists, we love them. They're
- 26:26Speaker 2: the elder Statesman, but they probably too old to tour,
- 26:29Speaker 2: you know, Rod Stewart, thank you.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Rod Stewart. Well, Franky Valley Listen he's ninety two. He's
- 26:37Speaker 3: very fragile, and they had him until about six months ago.
- 26:41Speaker 3: They had him out there touring all the time, so
- 26:44Speaker 3: that was enough, and now he looks like he's packing
- 26:47Speaker 3: it in. Rod Stewart is only eighty one, and for
- 26:51Speaker 3: the last few months people have been complaining that he
- 26:55Speaker 3: didn't seem really with it. Well, of course, it turned
- 26:57Speaker 3: out he needed a cardiac stent. He couldn't breathe. Now
- 27:02Speaker 3: he's going to be fine. Now he's going to come
- 27:04Speaker 3: back and be more Rod Stewart than ever he is.
- 27:07Speaker 3: But yes, he is. But yeah, he was doing fine,
- 27:11Speaker 3: except that he really looked like he wasn't getting enough
- 27:14Speaker 3: oxygen and blood through his arteries and he probably had
- 27:19Speaker 3: a completely blocked artery. But it is now unblocked and
- 27:24Speaker 3: he's going to take off the next month or so
- 27:27Speaker 3: and not do anything and see how he feels. But
- 27:30Speaker 3: you know, these kinds are human.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You know.
- 27:32Speaker 3: The thing is that we don't think rock stars are human,
- 27:35Speaker 3: but you know they are human, and they have the
- 27:38Speaker 3: same people have been canceling shows all summer. Young people too.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It's very weird. Yeah, but you know, I don't remember
- 27:44Speaker 3: this when we were young. I don't remember this when
- 27:46Speaker 3: we were young. No, at a certain age, you know,
- 27:48Speaker 3: baseball players like at forty you retire, and football Tom
- 27:51Speaker 3: Brady retire. You don't keep trying to play at eighty.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I mean, you've got to retire at some point. I
- 27:55Speaker 3: don't know. All the singers and all the performers that
- 27:58Speaker 3: we liked in the seventies are gonna They're gonna they
- 28:02Speaker 3: perform right up to the end. Okay, they're going to
- 28:04Speaker 3: be right on the stage when it's when it's they're
- 28:06Speaker 3: gonna go straight from the stage to their funerals. All right,
- 28:10Speaker 3: there's gonna be nothing in between because they don't do
- 28:12Speaker 3: anything else. They don't play golf, you know, they don't
- 28:14Speaker 3: play tennis, they don't macrima. So they you know, what
- 28:19Speaker 3: are they going to do? They just want to keep it.
- 28:20Speaker 3: They don't even need the money, really, they just like
- 28:22Speaker 3: to perform. Yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Hey, this guy Ari Emmanuel, he is as you watched Entourage,
- 28:29Speaker 2: he was Ari Gold. But he ended up owning William Morris.
- 28:33Speaker 2: He bought all these talent ages to them. But now
- 28:35Speaker 2: what is he up to? Now he's buying Broadway theaters?
- 28:37Speaker 3: What is he up to? So we used to have
- 28:40Speaker 3: here in New York. We have the Schuberts and the Needlelanders,
- 28:43Speaker 3: and the third biggest company was called JUW Jamson and
- 28:47Speaker 3: a couple of years ago they sold out to something
- 28:51Speaker 3: called ATG from London and they and so ATG owns
- 28:56Speaker 3: like sixty four theaters around the world, but seven of
- 28:59Speaker 3: them are in on Broadway in ten or in the
- 29:01Speaker 3: West End in London. And now ATG has sold to
- 29:05Speaker 3: Ari Emmanuel, which is going to be really interesting because
- 29:08Speaker 3: we have a new He's been like the new power
- 29:10Speaker 3: player in town. It's a in one way, it's a
- 29:14Speaker 3: big endorsement of Broadway that he would somebody would come
- 29:17Speaker 3: in and pay six billion dollars to own all these theaters.
- 29:23Speaker 3: The question is is he going to be using this
- 29:26Speaker 3: as a monopoly game and flipping them or is he
- 29:28Speaker 3: going to you know, hunker down and really support Broadway.
- 29:32Speaker 3: So we'll have to see. But he's definitely a Hollywood
- 29:36Speaker 3: power player, which is unusual to have on Broadway in
- 29:40Speaker 3: the past. That's always been just people who were interested
- 29:42Speaker 3: in theater.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Is he trying to be like a live nation where
- 29:45Speaker 2: he'll control venues, ticketing, have that kind of.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Mindy, Well, he's got he's yes. I mean he's got
- 29:51Speaker 3: a few ticket agencies also, so he's trying to combine
- 29:54Speaker 3: all these different businesses. This is something you know, Live
- 29:58Speaker 3: Nations started this way with a guy named Bob Sillerman
- 30:01Speaker 3: who since passed away, But he was the one who
- 30:04Speaker 3: originally thought, you know, live productions were going to be
- 30:06Speaker 3: the future, and now it's going to be Ari Emmanuel.
- 30:10Speaker 3: His brother was the mayor of Chicago and and does
- 30:14Speaker 3: talk about running for president.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And his other brother is that ghoul Zeka manual, that
- 30:22Speaker 2: ghoulish doctor.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Is he a ghoul? Yeah, you don't know anything about them.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I don't know anything about the brother.
- 30:28Speaker 2: The brother's the one that came up with the idea
- 30:30Speaker 2: that we should have death panels to decide if you're
- 30:32Speaker 2: too old to get any treatment.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Uh yeah, that's that's something from like the Hunger Games
- 30:39Speaker 3: or something, right. Yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Uh hey, what about the the movie box office you got?
- 30:47Speaker 2: Is this unusually? You got two of the biggest box
- 30:49Speaker 2: office hits ever at the same time.
- 30:53Speaker 3: How big are they at the same time? Today? In fact,
- 30:56Speaker 3: very today as we speak, Spider Man is hitting some
- 31:00Speaker 3: one hundred million dollars in the United States. It's way
- 31:03Speaker 3: over a billion dollars worldwide, but seven hundred billion dollars
- 31:08Speaker 3: and this is like we're a week three or something. Yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 3: it's unbelievable. It's it's spier Man's just going to keep
- 31:15Speaker 3: going and going and going until it hits one billion
- 31:17Speaker 3: dollars in America. And the Odyssey is doing very well.
- 31:21Speaker 3: It is heading toward five hundred right now, five hundred
- 31:24Speaker 3: million dollars. And the Odyssey is going to win every oscar.
- 31:29Speaker 3: You don't even have to. I would say, just give
- 31:31Speaker 3: the oscars now to the Odyssey and then move on
- 31:33Speaker 3: to the other movies. And it's worth seeing. It's worth
- 31:37Speaker 3: the Odyssey is fantastic. Now we are getting a lot
- 31:40Speaker 3: of great movies. I will say, I'm really pushing the
- 31:42Speaker 3: New York Film Festival this year. Tickets have just gone
- 31:45Speaker 3: on sale. It starts a September twenty fifth at Lincoln Center,
- 31:49Speaker 3: and they have a fantastic lineup. I'm really impressed. It's
- 31:54Speaker 3: probably the best lineup. You know. We have the Telluride
- 31:56Speaker 3: Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival and then US
- 32:00Speaker 3: and they're all good, but the New York Film Festival
- 32:03Speaker 3: really out died themselves this year and it's just going
- 32:07Speaker 3: to be one hit after another for two weeks. So
- 32:10Speaker 3: if you want to see what movies are coming for
- 32:12Speaker 3: the Oscars, that's the place to be in September.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, we only have like thirty seconds left, But
- 32:19Speaker 2: go back to Broadway from it. How well is Broadway doing?
- 32:21Speaker 2: It's Broadway okay. Financially everything's good, broady, Yeah, Broadway's okay.
- 32:25Speaker 3: A lot of shows closed, Ragtime is closing at the
- 32:28Speaker 3: end of the on the weekend, but you know, a
- 32:30Speaker 3: bunch of new shows are coming and that's what happens.
- 32:33Speaker 3: And the theaters, you know, the producers have to be
- 32:37Speaker 3: more discerning about what they're going to bring in. You
- 32:40Speaker 3: can't just bring in a movie that's been turned into
- 32:43Speaker 3: a musical. It doesn't work. The shows have to be
- 32:47Speaker 3: very creative, you know. They've really had to have to
- 32:50Speaker 3: have something behind them. I'm looking forward to like people
- 32:52Speaker 3: coming to Broadway in the next two seasons. In the
- 32:55Speaker 3: next season, you've got Julia Louis Dreyfus coming in. See
- 33:01Speaker 3: you have some really, some really good names. Now, yesterday
- 33:03Speaker 3: they announced that Julianne Moore is going to be doing
- 33:05Speaker 3: a show off Broadway at City Center, which is really
- 33:11Speaker 3: that's very exciting, and that'll start in February, Laura, Lenny's
- 33:15Speaker 3: coming in to do a play in February on Broadway,
- 33:19Speaker 3: so we're gonna start. We're gonna get a much more
- 33:21Speaker 3: serious season coming in. This season was not This season
- 33:25Speaker 3: was sort of scattershot. It wasn't that good. But you
- 33:28Speaker 3: know what, it's cyclical and it's never going to go away.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Broadway will be here long after we're gone.
- 33:34Speaker 2: All right, Well, that's good to hear. Great stuff, Roger Freeman.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Check out his website. It's showbiz for one one dot com.
- 33:41Speaker 2: There's a lot more stories here that we didn't get
- 33:42Speaker 2: to and there's new stuff everything.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Get ready for that eclipse. Oh yeah, one o'clock today,
- 33:47Speaker 3: but check out the website. I'm getting on my lear jag.
- 33:50Speaker 2: All right, Showbiz for one one dot com. Roger Friedman,
- 33:54Speaker 2: thanks for being with us. Thank you, take care, hey,
- 33:58Speaker 2: and don't forget. At noon today it's Buck and Clay.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Now you know, I'm here now at nine o'clock every morning.
- 34:03Speaker 2: It's now a three hour show. So I'm on nine
- 34:06Speaker 2: to noon. Then at noon you got Buck and Clay
- 34:09Speaker 2: noon to three. Then at three o'clock you got the
- 34:11Speaker 2: most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity. He
