- 2:06Speaker 3: The club because she was in the club, I was god.
- 2:11Speaker 7: Yeah, my husband and I went to Silo Island Club.
- 2:16Speaker 1: An animal.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Is now an animal hospital, That's what it is. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 2: wait are you originally originally from Staten Island, from the Bronx,
- 2:27Speaker 2: from the Bronx. Originally we're going to adopt her.
- 2:31Speaker 8: Every day I get listings for houses to purchase and
- 2:35Speaker 8: or places a triad in areas.
- 2:38Speaker 1: If I text her.
- 2:39Speaker 6: Enough one day, she's going to just be beaten down
- 2:41Speaker 6: by them and just.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Gonna come over to Staten Island. And you are you're
- 2:46Speaker 2: you're asking your age. I'm sorry, not telling, But you're
- 2:49Speaker 2: younger than me, Yes, you are? You like you were
- 2:55Speaker 2: a little bit younger than me. So you are in
- 2:57Speaker 2: the freestyle genre. No young in that, babe, Yeah your
- 3:01Speaker 2: younger dance. Yeah, so you're welcome up.
- 3:04Speaker 6: The first record came out in ninety eight, ninety nine,
- 3:07Speaker 6: like that, after after and.
- 3:09Speaker 2: After the whole freestyle. So I did know your music.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But because I'm old, I'm an old fucker, not all
- 3:15Speaker 2: I was in the freest you.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Know, you know what I like to say, jenu seasoned.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Like a fine.
- 3:22Speaker 1: There's no such thing as old old as it's it's
- 3:25Speaker 1: how you feel now with botox.
- 3:26Speaker 8: Oh how my social We need to talk about that too,
- 3:30Speaker 8: because I'm like, am I ready said?
- 3:32Speaker 3: I'm like, we're going to go to game. We're can
- 3:34Speaker 3: experience it together.
- 3:35Speaker 8: I haven't done it yet, And I keep texting her, yeah, yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 8: I just came for the pudding.
- 3:39Speaker 6: There's no pudding on this table because I ate it
- 3:41Speaker 6: all fair enough. What's your favorite kind of pudding chocolate?
- 3:47Speaker 2: I like hot pudding actually right out of the pot.
- 3:50Speaker 2: That's how I got my name for the show. I know,
- 3:52Speaker 2: do you make the pudding?
- 3:53Speaker 3: Is that you?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yes? I love it on the stall. So this is
- 3:56Speaker 2: how I got the name to Okay. So I was
- 3:58Speaker 2: with my significant other at the time, my fiance, and
- 4:01Speaker 2: I'm sitting in my house and I'm he's cooking me
- 4:04Speaker 2: hot pudding. So I just eat it right out of
- 4:07Speaker 2: the pot. So I have a towel with me, I
- 4:09Speaker 2: have the hot pot with the spoon, and I'm eating
- 4:11Speaker 2: it with my two cats sitting next to me. And
- 4:17Speaker 2: I'm looking at myself, going, oh my god, my life
- 4:20Speaker 2: was heels and clubs and now is cats are fucking
- 4:23Speaker 2: pudding and that's great.
- 4:25Speaker 8: And that's a crazy cat lady because I am a
- 4:28Speaker 8: crazy cat.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I am a crazy cat lady. I love cats. I
- 4:31Speaker 2: love I have two black cats. Their sisters are so cute.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And I have like a calico cat and he's like
- 4:36Speaker 2: she's like he's like a big like a turkey. He's
- 4:40Speaker 2: so big, he's so fat. He's so cute. He's so cute. Bowie.
- 4:44Speaker 2: So I have I have Aurora, Penelope and Bowie. There's so.
- 4:50Speaker 8: I just have my one little Stormy. She's like tiger strake.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Oh.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I love that.
- 4:53Speaker 8: We just got her like three months ago because my
- 4:56Speaker 8: other cat he passed, and so my husband and I
- 4:59Speaker 8: were like so depressed cleaning the apartment and then it was.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Like everything is empty. We're really sad. You need to,
- 5:06Speaker 3: like we need.
- 5:08Speaker 8: To get into the car, Like I think you have
- 5:09Speaker 8: to do that, because you know, when you have a
- 5:11Speaker 8: lot of love to give, it's.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Like you you have to.
- 5:14Speaker 8: So it's like immediately we went I'm like texting him
- 5:17Speaker 8: as I'm on the highway driving, I'm like, we're getting
- 5:19Speaker 8: a cat right now?
- 5:20Speaker 2: Did you did you adopt?
- 5:21Speaker 8: We did. We adopted the shelter here in the city,
- 5:25Speaker 8: and we took her home and it was like she
- 5:28Speaker 8: imprinted on us. Like we went in and we were
- 5:30Speaker 8: looking at all the cats, and she like just came
- 5:32Speaker 8: right up to the glass and I'm like.
- 5:34Speaker 2: They always pick you, they always pick you. She's very
- 5:38Speaker 2: feisty but well, and she picked. They're like they have souls, Yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 2: animals have souls. Yeah. See, I don't believe in waiting
- 5:47Speaker 2: after an animal dog because.
- 5:48Speaker 8: A lot of people like, oh my god, I'm like,
- 5:51Speaker 8: but I just felt like we wanted to and it
- 5:55Speaker 8: was just like the right time.
- 5:57Speaker 4: It's not the same thing as if with God forgive
- 5:59Speaker 4: me like a human like.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Passes and then play somebody else my name.
- 6:07Speaker 3: NeXT's okay if it's an animal, it's not right.
- 6:12Speaker 2: To replace that. No, my cat, my cat passed away too,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and it was he was so sick, and his name
- 6:18Speaker 2: is Paulie Walnuts Great. All my animals human names. I
- 6:25Speaker 2: love to name them human names. Kamala, Kamela, I gave
- 6:29Speaker 2: away so I came but can't a surprise.
- 6:34Speaker 7: Apparently know that's a perfect name.
- 6:44Speaker 2: That's going to be the next one. I want to
- 6:46Speaker 2: name the next one Pus, the big pussy.
- 6:48Speaker 3: My animals have the food. My dog's name is Canoli foods.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I was.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I named all my animals human names.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I know what my husband always says, like, if we're walking.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna name my next dog Michael, just because I
- 7:00Speaker 2: think it's hysterical.
- 7:03Speaker 8: Rob.
- 7:03Speaker 2: This is my dog, Rob.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Coward, And I thought that was funny.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I was like, don't I think it's funny to name
- 7:11Speaker 2: them human names. It's funny because now they're naming kids
- 7:14Speaker 2: like dog names. Did you ever hear that? Like, now
- 7:16Speaker 2: there's like Cooper right exactly.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Sit down, Cooper, go to your homework.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I just want to slap someone name Nickid Cooper names.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Oh my god, whatever happened to Vinnie?
- 7:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, Vannie, Vannie, Anthony, Joey. Where are those names?
- 7:31Speaker 6: Literally you just said all three of my names in
- 7:33Speaker 6: the order. I know, confirmation and the and the baptism nabe.
- 7:37Speaker 6: I went to school with that.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I love it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You have the best names, Bryden, Like that's.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Not just not tough, like like a guy name a
- 7:48Speaker 2: guy name like Brandon is not going to beat you up.
- 7:51Speaker 2: A guy named like.
- 7:52Speaker 9: You know, Anthony or Vinnie, like you just kick your aunt.
- 7:56Speaker 6: If there's like a confrontation with somebody, Hey, Aiden.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Go fuck him up.
- 7:59Speaker 6: Like it's like, come on, he did nobody anything anybody.
- 8:06Speaker 2: He is sitting on a sidelight. Look at a Vinnie
- 8:08Speaker 2: fuck somebody. That's what's gonna happen.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That's it.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Come on, that's true.
- 8:14Speaker 2: You're doing that's so funny. So I'm so excited that
- 8:18Speaker 2: you're here and I know that you guys started a podcast.
- 8:21Speaker 6: People are gonna start talking about us. I'm going to
- 8:23Speaker 6: think that we're like, you know, side pieces. I don't know.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's actually thought to think about. That's great, Like, yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Man, God years.
- 8:36Speaker 6: So I graduated high school, went right into college, and
- 8:39Speaker 6: radio is where it all started for me. College radio
- 8:42Speaker 6: and her records at the time were just starting to
- 8:44Speaker 6: pop off in the Tri State area, and I was
- 8:47Speaker 6: playing dance music in college radio. So a couple of
- 8:51Speaker 6: my classmates were loving my show and they were like, Yo,
- 8:53Speaker 6: how cool would it be if you got in touch
- 8:55Speaker 6: with some of the local artists, Like they were like So,
- 8:56Speaker 6: I was like, so, give me some names, and they
- 8:58Speaker 6: were like, oh, well, we love you know.
- 8:59Speaker 1: At the time she lived on Staten Island. They were
- 9:01Speaker 1: like a.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Muca you know who's now she's living down south, but
- 9:05Speaker 6: you know she had a great song now called Appreciate Me.
- 9:07Speaker 6: They were like, you know, and you know the freestyle
- 9:09Speaker 6: acts like Judy Torres.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was like, well, I know Judy personally, I was
- 9:12Speaker 1: a kid that grew up.
- 9:12Speaker 6: They were like like Raina and I was like, well,
- 9:15Speaker 6: I love rain his music. Come to find out she
- 9:17Speaker 6: was doing a Mall tour and it was in the
- 9:20Speaker 6: Staten Island Mall and she was promoting her albums at
- 9:23Speaker 6: the time, her album And you know, back then you
- 9:26Speaker 6: used to be able to stand in line in a
- 9:28Speaker 6: record store and go by the artist.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and you go.
- 9:31Speaker 4: I did not to blow your mind because I went
- 9:33Speaker 4: and saw you in the Staten Island mall.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Probably there at the same time, kid, Yes I did.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like literally like that, Yes I did.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And that's where Agule you were both at the Staten
- 9:43Speaker 3: Island mall.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Wow, oh my god, that's what I keep going.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Well, but then, so that's where it started.
- 9:49Speaker 6: And then and then I had gotten to meet her
- 9:52Speaker 6: in a record store. F ye was the store, okay, right,
- 9:56Speaker 6: and she was there with a radio DJ at the
- 9:58Speaker 6: time by the name of Vick Latina. And I'm taking
- 10:01Speaker 6: it back to when Vic had bleached blonde tips on
- 10:04Speaker 6: his hair, right, And I got to meet them. But
- 10:06Speaker 6: this was always my thing, like to get to where
- 10:08Speaker 6: I'm at now, I always envisioned meeting the people that
- 10:12Speaker 6: I thought were like the superstars to me in my era.
- 10:15Speaker 6: So it wasn't uncommon that when I heard Gumba Johanni
- 10:20Speaker 6: was going to be somewhere signing autographs for two hours
- 10:23Speaker 6: in a mall or in a store.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I would go. My brother always told me I was.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Corny, but look I wound up now twenty years later
- 10:29Speaker 6: being a syndicated radio DJ.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean. Like it was always
- 10:32Speaker 1: my thing.
- 10:33Speaker 6: So when I finally got to see Raina in the mall,
- 10:37Speaker 6: I said, A year later, I says, I'm going to
- 10:39Speaker 6: be on that stage hosting, and she's going to be
- 10:41Speaker 6: performing to the very day. A year later, there was
- 10:44Speaker 6: a thing called Fashion Jem that our friend David Albertson,
- 10:48Speaker 6: who was the marketing.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Manager and director of the Staten elam All, put together.
- 10:52Speaker 6: For back to school and all the stores were run
- 10:55Speaker 6: in promos on fashion and discounts and sales, and they
- 10:58Speaker 6: brought the hottest dance music artists in and local host
- 11:01Speaker 6: And because my show was so popular in the College
- 11:03Speaker 6: of Staten Island CSI, I like to go out to
- 11:06Speaker 6: College of Smart Italians.
- 11:08Speaker 2: You know that.
- 11:11Speaker 6: And I was on the air and we broadcast my
- 11:13Speaker 6: show live from the mall with them performing. It was her,
- 11:16Speaker 6: it was Judy, it was Lucas, it was a mook.
- 11:18Speaker 6: All the people that I grew.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Up wanting to get to know here we are, Here
- 11:22Speaker 1: we are.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I love that.
- 11:24Speaker 6: I've been down every road with her. She's been down
- 11:25Speaker 6: every road with me. It's my ride or die. I'm
- 11:27Speaker 6: her rider died.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I love that. I love that. So it's it's two
- 11:32Speaker 2: years of friendship.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I love that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Oh, this is siblings.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I love it right exactly.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that point. And so so now you're
- 11:42Speaker 2: doing this podcast together.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so she kind of well you could tell the story.
- 11:47Speaker 6: She's kind of behind the scenes now on her but
- 11:49Speaker 6: in the beginning we got her on there featured as
- 11:52Speaker 6: an artist. But it was a brainchild of the two
- 11:54Speaker 6: of ours, just kind of talking after last year's Beatstock,
- 11:57Speaker 6: because Beatstock went on a hiatus for a little bit,
- 12:00Speaker 6: and it came back last year in the original form
- 12:02Speaker 6: that we knew it as two D's thirty thousand people,
- 12:06Speaker 6: two ends of the Tristate area, over five hours of
- 12:09Speaker 6: concert DJs, every era of the music.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you're wonderful.
- 12:15Speaker 6: So we were talking last year we did some studio
- 12:17Speaker 6: work together, and then I said, you know, your show
- 12:19Speaker 6: was so killer. I said, now, beats that guy feel
- 12:22Speaker 6: needs to modernize. It needs to get with the social
- 12:24Speaker 6: media side of things. It needs to have a podcast.
- 12:27Speaker 6: How cool would it be? She goes, well, then, why
- 12:29Speaker 6: don't we just make it happen? And it was kind
- 12:31Speaker 6: of something we talked about. She got in touch with
- 12:33Speaker 6: the powers that be with another friend of ours, Kristin,
- 12:37Speaker 6: you know Kristin, that hairdresser, and.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You know, it all became a thing.
- 12:41Speaker 6: We wound up getting it together and I get to
- 12:44Speaker 6: be one of the hosts on there with Speedy Speedy, another.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Radio legend I listened to grow up.
- 12:50Speaker 6: That was a legend, so to listen to him and
- 12:52Speaker 6: now to be sitting next to him in a chair hosting,
- 12:55Speaker 6: talking to the very people whose records I spun that
- 12:58Speaker 6: started my radio career.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's a full circle moment.
- 13:01Speaker 6: And now you know, going to be part of it,
- 13:03Speaker 6: this big, massive weekend of dance music Shenanigans.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I was going to say, it's not just a podcast,
- 13:09Speaker 4: it's also now we're bringing back the weekend.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so important.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I mean I was with I mean, now the Copa
- 13:15Speaker 2: Cabana opens and now they're going to be bringing a
- 13:17Speaker 2: lot of star I was there. Branda, my dear friend, Branda,
- 13:22Speaker 2: twenty years of friendship. I know, Brenda many years and
- 13:25Speaker 2: she she was just she was on your podcast. Yeah,
- 13:29Speaker 2: she texted me from there. She goes, I'm in there.
- 13:31Speaker 2: She was, where are you you in Brooklyn? I go, no,
- 13:33Speaker 2: I'm not. I don't even know where I was. I
- 13:36Speaker 2: don't even know where I am right now. Calendar said,
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm doing Bulltox somewhere. I don't know what's going on.
- 13:42Speaker 2: But yeah, she she texted me from now, my Brenda,
- 13:45Speaker 2: I am nowhere to Staten Island right now. So but
- 13:47Speaker 2: the next day we went to see her show in
- 13:49Speaker 2: the Copa, which was great and it was so much fun.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And you know she's going to do also be in Beatstock,
- 13:55Speaker 2: So I'm probably going to be like her backstage assistant.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I hope.
- 13:59Speaker 6: So.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And well, I'm gonna come to the one in Long Island.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I don't know about the one in Jersey. I'm gonna
- 14:04Speaker 2: try to come to the one in Jersey, but I'll
- 14:05Speaker 2: come to the one.
- 14:06Speaker 6: You know what's cool about it, it's two days, similar lineups,
- 14:09Speaker 6: but there's wild cards. Yeah, so if you go to
- 14:13Speaker 6: P and C, you're not necessarily going to see who's
- 14:15Speaker 6: going to be at Jones Beach.
- 14:16Speaker 1: If you go to Jones beach. You're not going to
- 14:17Speaker 1: necessarily see who's that?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Yeah, huge, Oh my god, that that that Sabrina is
- 14:26Speaker 5: not going to be there from the cover girls, she is,
- 14:28Speaker 5: she's on it, she's not she.
- 14:30Speaker 2: She herself is not going to because she's going on vacation.
- 14:33Speaker 2: So it was another dear friend of mine who I
- 14:36Speaker 2: darly so good people, great saying, a great personage.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You know how she started out.
- 14:42Speaker 6: She was a background dancer for Angela Venudo, Yes, when
- 14:44Speaker 6: his dance records came.
- 14:48Speaker 2: She was the background dancer for Veronica.
- 14:50Speaker 1: That's how it happened.
- 14:52Speaker 2: You know, she's young because also she was she is
- 14:55Speaker 2: not in the same age group as the rest of them.
- 14:57Speaker 2: She's a little bit younger. She's in the forties, so
- 14:59Speaker 2: I could say that, I'm not going to say how
- 15:01Speaker 2: is but she's younger. So then she got on to
- 15:05Speaker 2: the cover girls, but there are two separate cover girls.
- 15:08Speaker 1: She's from the New Faction. The New Faction was was
- 15:11Speaker 1: after the Ogs, right.
- 15:13Speaker 6: Which is Bo's girl correct an angel and he's got
- 15:17Speaker 6: a phenomenal voice.
- 15:19Speaker 1: But then when when when the.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Group changed, I think they splain and then she's on.
- 15:23Speaker 6: A star from that era on was the New Cover Girls,
- 15:26Speaker 6: and Sabring is part of the New Cover Girls.
- 15:29Speaker 2: And then there's also an East Coast and West Coast.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Pretty much yeah, pretty much.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah. But you know she's said she's not gonna because
- 15:36Speaker 2: she's like, she's like, I'm taking a vacation the first
- 15:38Speaker 2: time in years. I gotta go on.
- 15:40Speaker 1: It's like Beatstock is pretty awesome.
- 15:43Speaker 6: I mean I grew up going to it, so now
- 15:44Speaker 6: to be part of it in a different capacity, it's
- 15:48Speaker 6: pretty cool.
- 15:48Speaker 3: How do you feel about this? Always blows my mind.
- 15:52Speaker 3: The producing aspect of it.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I love guys.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I was gonna say, do you like it? Are you
- 15:56Speaker 3: stressed out by it? Is it exciting?
- 15:58Speaker 1: She gets to perform, Yeah, which is great.
- 16:00Speaker 3: You know that's that's the easy part. It's one hundred percent.
- 16:03Speaker 8: It's all the backstage stuff and the show.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I'm a little more behind the scenes than that.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yes, even people don't see what goes on Behod.
- 16:10Speaker 8: No, he does all the stressing for me. When he
- 16:11Speaker 8: did my show real and we're talking to Veto and
- 16:14Speaker 8: it has to be like eight minutes and like fifty
- 16:17Speaker 8: nine seconds.
- 16:17Speaker 6: How do you get the meat and potatoes and the
- 16:19Speaker 6: best parts of our songs in right?
- 16:20Speaker 1: And we did it.
- 16:21Speaker 6: We went to the studio last year, we worked it out.
- 16:23Speaker 6: I had some DJ friends do some things on it.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And it's work, you know, but it's fun. That's part
- 16:28Speaker 1: of it.
- 16:28Speaker 6: But then there's a show running during the show that
- 16:30Speaker 6: nobody knows about it. That's getting everybody lined up. Who's
- 16:33Speaker 6: in the pen on deck.
- 16:35Speaker 1: To get ready to go on stage? What's happening behind
- 16:37Speaker 1: them today?
- 16:38Speaker 8: You know, how are they?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a machine, Yeah, but it's cool.
- 16:41Speaker 6: So, you know, I kind of unofficially have helped for
- 16:43Speaker 6: so many years with that just being back there, so
- 16:46Speaker 6: this year to be involved in it, you know, in
- 16:48Speaker 6: a different capacity. We're going to kind of do like
- 16:49Speaker 6: red carpet interviews from backstage, you know, gonna be doing
- 16:53Speaker 6: a lot of social media coverage, maybe possibly some on
- 16:56Speaker 6: stage spots with Speedy. I don't know yet what that's
- 16:59Speaker 6: gonna look like, but whatever the case may be, I'm
- 17:01Speaker 6: just so honored to be part of it. And the
- 17:03Speaker 6: podcast is just literally leading up to it.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It's interviewing artists.
- 17:07Speaker 6: And it's just basically trying to entice people to the
- 17:10Speaker 6: hot to sticket in town.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Yeah, could you do.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Some like moments of podcasting on stage maybe.
- 17:15Speaker 6: I'm thinking more back and then on stage, just kind
- 17:19Speaker 6: of like hyping the crowd up for the performance, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 6: the whole job of a host whenever you do anything
- 17:24Speaker 6: like that at such a large scale, with such a
- 17:26Speaker 6: quick amount of time, just get the artists in and out.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and you hold the energy of the night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely,
- 17:34Speaker 3: you know absolutely. You know that as the performer too,
- 17:37Speaker 3: You're like, you keep the energy where it needs to be.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Very I'm so excited.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very exciting. I love it. I'll be on
- 17:44Speaker 2: the one on the Long Island for sure.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Did music start for both of you at a young age?
- 17:49Speaker 3: Your love for music? Yeah, sing it.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Yeah, same yeah, same for me, it was you know,
- 17:56Speaker 6: I was born in the late eighties, so freestyle music
- 17:58Speaker 6: was just born at that point.
- 18:01Speaker 1: We're coming off the heels of disco.
- 18:03Speaker 6: My parents were only in their late twenties, early thirties,
- 18:06Speaker 6: so oldies music wasn't old. Yeah, I like twenty twenty
- 18:08Speaker 6: five years old at that point. So Sunday, while mom's
- 18:12Speaker 6: rolling meat balls, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary
- 18:14Speaker 6: to hear sixties and seventies songs.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Ye, disco songs freestyle records. So I grew up.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Grandma gets me this thing called the karaoke machine, and
- 18:24Speaker 6: she says, I know, right, yeah, so many like similarities
- 18:29Speaker 6: in an Italian household.
- 18:30Speaker 1: You know, she says, I want you to start singing. None.
- 18:33Speaker 6: He wants you to know Frank Sinatra, Tony Mark, Tony Bennett,
- 18:38Speaker 6: Y Martin.
- 18:39Speaker 1: So those were all the things.
- 18:40Speaker 6: So my vocal coaches were Frankie Valley in the Four Seasons,
- 18:43Speaker 6: Jay Black and the Americans, all that stuff. I went
- 18:46Speaker 6: in my bedroom when kids in the neighborhood was outside
- 18:48Speaker 6: shooting hoops and making ramps with their bikes. I was
- 18:51Speaker 6: putting on a concert, pretending I was in a venue
- 18:54Speaker 6: like a P and C or a Madison Square garden,
- 18:56Speaker 6: seeing myself in front of thousands of people singing, not
- 18:59Speaker 6: realzing that like twenty five thirty years later, I'd be doing.
- 19:03Speaker 1: That right, you know, right, So it's cool. So that's
- 19:06Speaker 1: for me.
- 19:06Speaker 6: It was always for full circle. For you, it did,
- 19:08Speaker 6: That's all I did. I know, the same for you.
- 19:11Speaker 6: You know, her mom is a talented singer.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Her aunt, Oh really, okay, so it's in your family.
- 19:16Speaker 6: Her aunt was one of the original vocalists and she yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 6: really yeah, female singer.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I love when I hear someone like the family business.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Because when I say what I do and I say,
- 19:28Speaker 4: oh my god, I'm a theatrical comedian and I sing.
- 19:30Speaker 3: My mother and father go we don't know where.
- 19:32Speaker 4: She goes, I don't do that, Like my father's a
- 19:35Speaker 4: a a body mechanic. And my mother was like, I
- 19:37Speaker 4: don't go near people. So it was like, you know,
- 19:40Speaker 4: my mother was home cooking and want to talk to people.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Love when I hear And that was the thing.
- 19:43Speaker 1: My parents never forced it. My mother always was like,
- 19:46Speaker 1: do whatever you want to.
- 19:47Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:48Speaker 1: She loves all the success I have.
- 19:50Speaker 6: But she's the one like when I'm in the audience,
- 19:52Speaker 6: when I'm on the stage performing, like when I do
- 19:54Speaker 6: P and C once a year, big oldie show.
- 19:56Speaker 3: There where is she.
- 19:57Speaker 6: She's not up front at all and they give us
- 20:01Speaker 6: a whole reserved section for family and friends. She's got
- 20:04Speaker 6: very you my mother parameters, she's got parameters.
- 20:07Speaker 1: She goes, I don't want to be on top of people.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You think Jed's got the heavy accent, You got to
- 20:12Speaker 1: hear hands, You gotta hear hands. She goes, I don't
- 20:14Speaker 1: want to be on.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Top of heavy.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I don't want I don't want to speak this up
- 20:18Speaker 1: in my face.
- 20:19Speaker 6: She goes, I don't want to hear your things blast,
- 20:21Speaker 6: and she goes, I want to sit in the.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Back, and I want to watch. But if this is
- 20:25Speaker 1: a check it, this is where it's funny.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Now I'll be on stage and no matter how many
- 20:30Speaker 6: thousands of people in the audience, my eyes will find
- 20:33Speaker 6: her when I'm scanning the audience, and she don't have
- 20:35Speaker 6: to say it.
- 20:35Speaker 1: She looks at me and she goes like this.
- 20:40Speaker 8: So she's got a sense of cure.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I love it.
- 20:42Speaker 6: Whereas my father's backstage shaking hands with all the autists.
- 20:48Speaker 1: We call them Colonel Tom.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I love that. I want to meet your mom.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Oh, she's quite the character.
- 20:56Speaker 4: My mother's sort of the same way, but she hides
- 20:58Speaker 4: in the back. My mom, whenever I'm performing, you don't
- 21:01Speaker 4: even know she's my mother. She's just in the bath
- 21:04Speaker 4: like this, waiting till it's over. But like to what
- 21:07Speaker 4: you all said, didn't push.
- 21:08Speaker 3: To say do it? Do it? You don't need to
- 21:11Speaker 3: go to this dance competition. Let's stay home.
- 21:13Speaker 4: You don't need to do that theater production and we
- 21:16Speaker 4: my sister and I were like, let's do it.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Was healthier when a parent doesn't push.
- 21:21Speaker 2: But some parents sometimes just know that their kids are
- 21:24Speaker 2: gonna like maybe. My grandma always said to my mother,
- 21:27Speaker 2: you're never gonna have to worry about her. She's always
- 21:29Speaker 2: gonna that one's gonna go, she's gonna find towaii and
- 21:33Speaker 2: she's yeah, she always said that about me, like they knew,
- 21:36Speaker 2: they know who's gonna do what.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Isn't that funny?
- 21:39Speaker 2: Isn't that funny that they yeah? But my grandmother, it's
- 21:42Speaker 2: so funny because my grandmother and my mother would pull opposite.
- 21:45Speaker 2: My mother was the more Italian one that was home
- 21:48Speaker 2: with the five kids, sure, and was black till the
- 21:51Speaker 2: day she died, because my father died, you know. And
- 21:54Speaker 2: my grandmother was this fashion designer at one kid right,
- 22:00Speaker 2: and we had this conversation and generation it was crazy,
- 22:03Speaker 2: like it was just revol reversed.
- 22:05Speaker 1: You became more like her.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Oh my god. She always said, make your own money,
- 22:09Speaker 2: make your own money, and listen. They were married for
- 22:12Speaker 2: seventy one years. My grandfather and my grandmother, they were
- 22:15Speaker 2: so the cutest things.
- 22:16Speaker 8: They still so make your money, have your own separate account.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Absolutely. She always said that.
- 22:21Speaker 6: My mother said it, and I'm single at the moment
- 22:23Speaker 6: my mother said, she goes any broad she calls him tomatoes,
- 22:27Speaker 6: Jenny Tomatoes. Come along with all this success she got,
- 22:30Speaker 6: She goes, I'm not going to be that.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Mother in law. You know, I'm literally got to talk
- 22:33Speaker 1: like her. She goes, I'm not going to be that
- 22:34Speaker 1: mother in law. I don't care. I'm not going to
- 22:35Speaker 1: meddle in.
- 22:36Speaker 6: She goes, but I know what goes on today they
- 22:40Speaker 6: will be signing a piece of paper because my son works,
- 22:42Speaker 6: just balls off and ain't nobody taking anything from him.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, you know, yeah, yeah, it's so funny.
- 22:49Speaker 3: She sees you working, she gets it right.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Like, I hope that didn't scare anybody else.
- 22:54Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, you just wrote your take.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Catch. Here's a catch answered.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Sunday Eucharistic Menace.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Have a really good day job, Insurance Sunday good things.
- 23:13Speaker 1: He's got a great voice, radio show on the weekend.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Drink men.
- 23:21Speaker 6: You know what's funny, there's a lot of women that
- 23:23Speaker 6: the poor thing, whoever she's gonna be, that comes into
- 23:26Speaker 6: my life has to go through.
- 23:28Speaker 1: With my mother, Maria Bernudo.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You know, yeah, I got a whole, like slim, whole
- 23:38Speaker 2: gamut of people, like you.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Know, it's like you gotta go through the right the lineage.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Before you get through.
- 23:45Speaker 6: Then she's then there's like six girls in the church
- 23:48Speaker 6: that like take care of me, my my, you know,
- 23:50Speaker 6: they they're like my my church girls.
- 23:52Speaker 3: The church the hardest.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds like a poor movie, Me and my church.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So did you know? Raina wrote a song that Donna
- 24:02Speaker 1: Summer was supposed to sing.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Really tell me things?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yes, are you serious? I co wrote it with her niece,
- 24:10Speaker 2: and she said, church girls in porn.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I had to change the.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Pivot. Pivot.
- 24:18Speaker 8: It's very exciting, strange pivot, but okay, I'll take it.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I love it.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 8: So I co wrote it with her niece, and while
- 24:29Speaker 8: we were recording in Connecticut, she was on the phone
- 24:32Speaker 8: listening like after each verse, like I was dying wow.
- 24:37Speaker 8: And I was supposed to keep my composure.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, which is so hard.
- 24:40Speaker 8: Way sure, Donna Summits on the phone record and it
- 24:45Speaker 8: got to the bridge part and she's like tell her
- 24:48Speaker 8: she needs to go higher, like and I'm like, Donna
- 24:50Speaker 8: Summers says it you do it.
- 24:52Speaker 1: But how cool is that that she could recognize that
- 24:54Speaker 1: ability in her voice?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:55Speaker 1: I know, I can tell the artist was holding back
- 24:59Speaker 1: a little bit and told just go for it.
- 25:00Speaker 8: I grew up listening to her music, so her like,
- 25:04Speaker 8: not her vocal range.
- 25:10Speaker 4: I mean, we all have our own abilities and agility
- 25:13Speaker 4: with our voices, but but.
- 25:14Speaker 3: It's where she was like my bass.
- 25:16Speaker 8: Yeah, you know what I mean, Like it was the
- 25:18Speaker 8: first thing that hit my ear that was that was pleasing.
- 25:21Speaker 3: And she probably could hear in your voice the range reaching.
- 25:25Speaker 8: Yes and and she can just tell that she needs
- 25:28Speaker 8: to do this. And I was just like, did you
- 25:31Speaker 8: do it on the spot when we were recording, I,
- 25:34Speaker 8: you know, I worked out what we needed to do
- 25:36Speaker 8: and I didn't. And then she heard and she was
- 25:38Speaker 8: like yep, and then that.
- 25:40Speaker 2: That was it.
- 25:41Speaker 6: The name of the song is called anything for Love.
- 25:43Speaker 6: It's a beautiful song and you can hear it definitely, it's.
- 25:47Speaker 1: All over her.
- 25:47Speaker 8: Everyone keeps asking me to do like every time it
- 25:49Speaker 8: goes somewhere, and I only ever do it at like
- 25:50Speaker 8: weddings because like one of those types of songs.
- 25:54Speaker 6: But and you know, it's not like you remember when
- 25:57Speaker 6: Donna Summer is saying I will go with you the
- 25:58Speaker 6: Andrea Ja, the same producer remixer did the remix on
- 26:04Speaker 6: on her song that literally in the middle of the song,
- 26:06Speaker 6: she holds this one note that modulates up, which was
- 26:08Speaker 6: the note that donnasau.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's literally on the same cadence.
- 26:14Speaker 6: So to say, as Donna Summer that you can tell
- 26:18Speaker 6: it's Donna Summer inspired you.
- 26:20Speaker 8: Just singing it right now and right. I'm a little
- 26:25Speaker 8: horse right now because I was watching Love.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Island, yelling at the screen and I was happy.
- 26:30Speaker 8: That Carl's back, so.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I'm dead.
- 26:33Speaker 8: I was screaming very mus I'm sorry, I'm not my usual.
- 26:38Speaker 2: That's that's her, that's her thing. She likes reality shows
- 26:42Speaker 2: right now, it's job. When she found that I was
- 26:46Speaker 2: on below deck, she couldn't wait to find out.
- 26:49Speaker 6: I'm going that I was working behind the scenes on
- 26:52Speaker 6: Mob Wives. When I would travel with Big Ann's.
- 26:54Speaker 1: You know that candidacy. She used to be like, just
- 26:56Speaker 1: give me one episode, just one episode.
- 26:57Speaker 8: I mean, I just want to watch the tables like
- 26:59Speaker 8: at the bar.
- 27:00Speaker 6: I don't called you should be doing some shows.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna get you on something.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I got you Love it because it's just like it
- 27:13Speaker 3: really is a guilty pleasure.
- 27:14Speaker 6: It's good a lot of ways, but really knows like
- 27:17Speaker 6: the depths of reality shows. I mean, forget about it
- 27:20Speaker 6: if I miss one episode because the only the only
- 27:23Speaker 6: Housewives fa my mother saying, the only housewives faction we
- 27:26Speaker 6: watch in my house is Jersey.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Now it's not because it's literally like you people, it's
- 27:30Speaker 1: like our family.
- 27:31Speaker 6: It's like, wellmore, I miss one episode, I call Rain
- 27:35Speaker 6: and she gives.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Me the full one one.
- 27:37Speaker 8: Literally you're like one of my friends. She's like, I
- 27:39Speaker 8: don't watch shows anymore. I just wait to talk to you.
- 27:41Speaker 3: The next day.
- 27:43Speaker 8: Three come down and she's like it's better than actually
- 27:45Speaker 8: watching it because she's like, you don't miss a beat.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I feel like we.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Should start like an Instagram account or something of you
- 27:50Speaker 4: just giving us the note show.
- 27:51Speaker 8: You know, every just saying everyone keeps saying this.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Podcast about reality shows.
- 27:57Speaker 8: But I'm sure a lot of my opinions would be
- 27:59Speaker 8: like the most unpopular opinion because.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Why your podcast?
- 28:04Speaker 8: Because I would be like, as amazing, I know, you're
- 28:08Speaker 8: really stupid that you went back in this house. So
- 28:11Speaker 8: what he did and then chose this guy again, So
- 28:14Speaker 8: like that was literally rady.
- 28:16Speaker 2: You gotta do it that yesterday. You should do it
- 28:19Speaker 2: and sing the content and be like to is to
- 28:22Speaker 2: turn the tape and then be like and marry Louie.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Like you should just be like just saying the whole thing.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Do a variation.
- 28:33Speaker 8: Ability, but we have like one like regular normal show
- 28:37Speaker 8: in common.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I'm a big Hallmark guy. You know
- 28:42Speaker 1: one day I'll be in a Christmas movie. Definitely. Can
- 28:45Speaker 1: this come on?
- 28:45Speaker 2: You gotta make amazing. You know, I could be the cupcake.
- 28:49Speaker 1: But whose life really turns out like that?
- 28:51Speaker 3: You know, like nobody.
- 28:53Speaker 4: That's why it's so beautiful. It's because when you my
- 28:56Speaker 4: aunt has the Hallmark blanket.
- 28:59Speaker 1: My students guy for me.
- 29:01Speaker 8: And we cuddle up and she I have Home Jamas.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I for Jamas.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I'm not afraid to Admitte.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Homemark movies.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I watch homek I do.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I love the Christmas movies. It is Christmas in July
- 29:16Speaker 1: right now? Do you know I've been watching it.
- 29:18Speaker 8: I've gone a couple of years.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I'm with It's Christmas in July.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I performed that one week and that Christmas con is everything.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I go to Christmas.
- 29:25Speaker 8: I don't get to go with my sisters and a
- 29:27Speaker 8: couple of my friends.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Where are you going?
- 29:30Speaker 6: Because I perform forming a Christmas show every year, telling

- 29:48Speaker 8: his age range with like Winny like pictures that.
- 29:52Speaker 9: I'm like, this is very weird. You know when you
- 29:54Speaker 9: were a certain age, you growing up and you're grade school.
- 29:58Speaker 9: Wednesday Nights came on, right, I see winning on the screen.
- 30:02Speaker 9: Things started to happen.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Just gonna say keep it.
- 30:09Speaker 3: With Lacy like that was the thing.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Yes, I like Lacey, and I like Lacey. She was
- 30:14Speaker 1: adorable and DJ Tanner now too, Oh I heard that's
- 30:17Speaker 1: a and this Cameron came.

- 30:25Speaker 4: Hallmark movies because it kind of takes you like a
- 30:27Speaker 4: reality show.
- 30:28Speaker 8: Yeah, another limb, Like I know how it's gonna end.
- 30:33Speaker 8: It's gonna be ninety minutes of I can deal with this,
- 30:35Speaker 8: and then the last thirty seconds is going to be
- 30:37Speaker 8: a kiss, right.
- 30:38Speaker 6: And it's gonna be yeah, well at about And it's funny.
- 30:42Speaker 6: My brother was watching one with me the other night.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I watch how Predictability.
- 30:46Speaker 6: The first hour you get the baseline, the person uproots
- 30:49Speaker 6: their life and they find their.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Place in the new place.
- 30:52Speaker 6: And then the half hour of the second hour is like, Okay,
- 30:55Speaker 6: I see where it's going. And then all of a sudden,
- 30:57Speaker 6: after the commercial break, they come back and by thirty five,
- 31:00Speaker 6: by now at thirty five in oh, something's revealed.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Twist. That's the climax. But within five minutes we're in reality.
- 31:07Speaker 1: You'd be like, I'll kill you, you know.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Five minutes later in a Hallmark movie, the conflict is
- 31:11Speaker 6: resolved back to the commercial and by fifty seven it's
- 31:15Speaker 6: the end of the movie.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Fifty nine they kiss.
- 31:18Speaker 8: And there's the credits on the credits rolling into the
- 31:21Speaker 8: to the next movie.
- 31:22Speaker 1: It's a wonderful.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It's a wonderful.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I'm telling you.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It's it's Christmas.
- 31:26Speaker 3: It's all make it happen.
- 31:27Speaker 2: We have to write, We're going to make it happen, right,
- 31:30Speaker 2: We're going to make We're going to wait we're going
- 31:32Speaker 2: to do that.
- 31:32Speaker 3: That something like mister Christmas, I don't know what it
- 31:35Speaker 3: is yet, big.
- 31:36Speaker 6: Town Radio DJs the city and goes off to the
- 31:39Speaker 6: burbs to help open up a radio station for a
- 31:42Speaker 6: failing that's what.
- 31:43Speaker 2: You have to save the school.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's always save.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it should be like the Italian. The Italian goes
- 31:50Speaker 2: to like Ohio and does.
- 31:51Speaker 1: That yeah based program.
- 31:55Speaker 8: I will be the owner at the cupcake shop.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's, by the way, is all I ever want
- 31:59Speaker 3: to do.
- 32:00Speaker 1: One of go to the cupcakes shop.
- 32:02Speaker 6: That's advice and she winds up being somebody that's like
- 32:05Speaker 6: the secret guardian Angel that pushed you you together, or
- 32:07Speaker 6: you're not even.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Real but you in the movie You Trinkle into Stars.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Yes, I would love that. I know everyone. I would
- 32:14Speaker 2: love that.
- 32:16Speaker 8: I will love my feet, my my footsteps and disappearing
- 32:19Speaker 8: and it's like just Angel does and it's like, oh
- 32:21Speaker 8: my god, a little Jack Frost.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I'm in Like we just wrote it right now.
- 32:26Speaker 6: We'll call the movie Angels in the Snow, and then
- 32:29Speaker 6: Mine and Maria in the movie Gido in the Snow.
- 32:33Speaker 6: All right, that's but Guido in the Snow might be
- 32:36Speaker 6: a guy from eighty six. You who deals cocaine.
- 32:41Speaker 3: There's no homemark.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I don't take so, oh my god. Well we're gonna
- 32:50Speaker 2: get on that. We're gonna write that. Let's do it. Okay,
- 32:53Speaker 2: We're gonna get you in a.
- 32:54Speaker 8: Hole walk and then I'll bring it to Christmas Cohn
- 32:57Speaker 8: and then I'll take it to uh you know.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Well, I listen, I'm gonna even distributed here. Everybody gets
- 33:03Speaker 1: a little piece of the pot. It's good, We'll get
- 33:09Speaker 1: a piece here.
- 33:10Speaker 2: It's said the collective experience.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It's got to come back to Red Apple to get
- 33:15Speaker 1: everybody involved.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Everyone eats as my husband.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Everybody on the table, and I got enough seats at
- 33:23Speaker 1: my table.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Beautiful, right, you have such beautiful I I just want
- 33:28Speaker 2: to tell you that they're mesmerizing, thank you.
- 33:30Speaker 8: They're not.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But no, they're beautiful.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 33:37Speaker 2: You do you have like the I don't know what
- 33:39Speaker 2: it is. It's like they twinkle.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Well, it's the thing.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Remember what my Jody was saying the last episode, which
- 33:44Speaker 4: I thought was so interesting. He's like, you meet people
- 33:46Speaker 4: in the industry, and sometimes you meet someone, let's just
- 33:49Speaker 4: say they're super famous.
- 33:50Speaker 3: You sit down with them. You're about to interview them,
- 33:51Speaker 3: and you're like, how the hell did they get to
- 33:53Speaker 3: be so famous? They don't have that thing that you
- 33:56Speaker 3: meet someone. They kind of have that like sparkle, Yes,
- 33:59Speaker 3: you gotta sparkle a spokle.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I grew up really wanting to be a couple of
- 34:06Speaker 1: different people in radio. Johnny, I can see that. And
- 34:12Speaker 1: Freddy Cologne. If you're in the back of the Freddy Cologne,
- 34:17Speaker 1: those are my three and and and one more Broadway
- 34:20Speaker 1: Billy those I haven't heard that name. They're still doing their.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Things, but you know what, you are a mixture of
- 34:27Speaker 3: all of them. But you also and then.
- 34:29Speaker 6: Here because and I'm gonna want to out where you record,
- 34:32Speaker 6: but you'll record this at our w ABC studio to
- 34:36Speaker 6: be able to be on the air weekly before cousin
- 34:39Speaker 6: Brucy who now, I mean, that's that's a legend in radio.
- 34:44Speaker 6: You know he worked with him, Joe Piscopo, Tony Orlando, Like,
- 34:48Speaker 6: you know, those three guys recognize something in me that
- 34:51Speaker 6: they're not saying it's this young kid that's coming up,
- 34:54Speaker 6: like I have a spot.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah in the lane with them.
- 34:58Speaker 6: They never once make me feel like I have to
- 35:01Speaker 6: learn and grow. They always make me feel equal. So
- 35:04Speaker 6: I love them for that well, and they're good guys.
- 35:07Speaker 6: It's beautiful to be part of that because.
- 35:08Speaker 4: It is an awesome guy because they see that in you,
- 35:11Speaker 4: and you'll do that to someone that you'll pass that
- 35:13Speaker 4: down to.
- 35:13Speaker 8: Oh.
- 35:14Speaker 6: I have so many exactly young, up and coming talents
- 35:17Speaker 6: in this building that work on the weekend with me.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I love them. There's not a thing I wouldn't do
- 35:23Speaker 1: for any of them to help cultivate.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Them, which is you need that business right and this
- 35:27Speaker 4: business is so crazy on so many levels.
- 35:29Speaker 6: That are because I once sat Candice pressing the buttons,
- 35:34Speaker 6: maybe getting screened at if something wasn't pressed quick enough.
- 35:37Speaker 6: And I always said, when I'm in the chair, and
- 35:40Speaker 6: it wasn't if I knew, I said, when I'm in
- 35:43Speaker 6: the chair, I'm never going to do that. I'm going
- 35:45Speaker 6: to make my guys feel, you know, the way I
- 35:48Speaker 6: wanted to feel. It's important because you know, it's it's key,
- 35:54Speaker 6: you know. And a couple of times some of these
- 35:55Speaker 6: some of the guys will make a mistake and they're like, video,
- 35:57Speaker 6: I'm so sorry.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm like, what do you apologize it for?
- 35:59Speaker 6: It's a live right, We're already thirty seconds into the
- 36:01Speaker 6: next song, I forgot about it.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Keep the show going. You're doing a great job, you know.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I always want them to remember how I treated them.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Listen, I say the same thing all the time. Anytime
- 36:12Speaker 4: we meet someone, you perform whatever it is right. People
- 36:16Speaker 4: are not going to forget what you say.
- 36:17Speaker 3: People excuse me.
- 36:18Speaker 4: People are not going to remember what you say. People
- 36:20Speaker 4: are not going to forget remember what you did, but
- 36:22Speaker 4: they're never going to forget.
- 36:24Speaker 1: And maya Angelo a picture hung in my house.
- 36:31Speaker 3: The teacher in me that is that's exactly right.
- 36:33Speaker 2: But it's so true.
- 36:34Speaker 3: It's the truth.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Like I don't remember what that person said to me,
- 36:37Speaker 4: but man, do I know how they made me feel?
- 36:39Speaker 6: Right?
- 36:39Speaker 3: And that's how when you want to do that right.
- 36:42Speaker 2: But that's so true because because think about that, how
- 36:45Speaker 2: much of an impact that somebody makes you feel a
- 36:47Speaker 2: certain way If you go see.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Your show, Like I go see a Broadway show, if
- 36:51Speaker 4: I'm whatever, I'm on the audience member, I'm like, I
- 36:53Speaker 4: can't re sing that song, but I know how it
- 36:55Speaker 4: made me feel like that, but I can't remember the lyrics,
- 36:57Speaker 4: Like that's what but I.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Know how I felt what I looked out of it?
- 37:00Speaker 2: Like transformed or transcended somewhere, and you want to.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Feel that when you meet people. But you guys have
- 37:05Speaker 4: such a beautiful chemistry. That's so beautiful is you don't
- 37:08Speaker 4: see it a lot.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Now, there's a lot of people.
- 37:11Speaker 1: There's not a thing I wouldn't do for And I
- 37:12Speaker 1: know it's vice versa.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But you guys have been friends for a long time.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I mean, my grandma always said if you could count
- 37:18Speaker 2: on your hands.
- 37:20Speaker 8: I don't have many people in my life.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah, with you that I could go to.
- 37:23Speaker 8: And literally, I'm driving across the bridge and I'm like,
- 37:27Speaker 8: I'm going to be on the island tonight.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Where are you?
- 37:29Speaker 3: He's like wherever you are?
- 37:30Speaker 2: I'm literally what happened?
- 37:32Speaker 8: And I just needed to talk. And he's like one
- 37:37Speaker 8: person that I could just break down with. I don't
- 37:39Speaker 8: do that often outside. Yeah, he's one person I could
- 37:43Speaker 8: just break down with.
- 37:43Speaker 3: And I know it stays here and that's so important.
- 37:47Speaker 8: And I know that if there's something that he can
- 37:50Speaker 8: help me with, there will be a problem.
- 37:53Speaker 2: And a solution. Yeah, oh that's bad.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Maybe a private somebody's head got ripped off, but I.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Than that right, get it, But I.
- 38:05Speaker 8: Know that that's whatever like transpires, it's gonna be like like.
- 38:10Speaker 3: The circle of trust, so to speak.
- 38:12Speaker 2: In the circle of trust, and that's really about that.
- 38:15Speaker 8: That's really important in this industry. There's so many people,
- 38:20Speaker 8: so much room for everybody, Like, are you kidding me?
- 38:23Speaker 8: It's like, as we get older, that should not be
- 38:25Speaker 8: something that.
- 38:27Speaker 2: The problem. Listen to me, they're so especially on social media,
- 38:33Speaker 2: and I look at people on social media, and I'm like, listen,
- 38:36Speaker 2: I have a popular page on social media, but that's
- 38:38Speaker 2: not my bread and bottle, Like is my business, you
- 38:41Speaker 2: know what I mean. So when I see all this
- 38:44Speaker 2: going on in certain especially in.
- 38:47Speaker 1: The Italian God bless them because they have the time
- 38:50Speaker 1: all day in the world to do it. I don'tbody that,
- 38:53Speaker 1: you know. I barely to keep up doing my own
- 38:57Speaker 1: get stressed.
- 38:58Speaker 2: It's very stressed.
- 38:59Speaker 3: I have a little calendar at this point.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I've gotten so stressed that I'm like, I need a
- 39:01Speaker 4: calendar of when I'm posting one I'm charing someone collabed
- 39:04Speaker 4: with me.
- 39:05Speaker 2: But I'm like, it's not that serious, boom man.
- 39:08Speaker 6: But I would think it's hard to have to constantly
- 39:10Speaker 6: stay on and try to create content. Me I'll go
- 39:13Speaker 6: sing a song and that video blows up on the internet.
- 39:16Speaker 6: It's better, you know, and it's like, you know, that's
- 39:19Speaker 6: it's organic. And I'm not taking away from anybody. Everybody's
- 39:22Speaker 6: got talent, you way. Yeah, I'm just not gonna do
- 39:27Speaker 6: certain things for click shares, likes clabs, like I'm gonna
- 39:30Speaker 6: do stuff that's on brand with.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Me and something that's that's gonna matters.
- 39:35Speaker 1: But I give credits everybody that's working working hard.
- 39:38Speaker 4: Right now, it's a game like call of a game,
- 39:40Speaker 4: but it's a game. And then it's the game of performance.
- 39:42Speaker 6: And I will say Italians are very They're out there
- 39:45Speaker 6: right now. They're representing that.
- 39:47Speaker 1: It's cool.
- 39:49Speaker 2: People don't they don't, they don't. Everybody does not support
- 39:53Speaker 2: each other. And that's what bothers me and I don't
- 39:56Speaker 2: know what it is.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It's it's actually funny. It's the Italian stereo, right, but
- 40:01Speaker 1: it's not Italian friends. Nobody knows the business. Everybody, stay
- 40:05Speaker 1: where are you at?
- 40:06Speaker 8: Right?
- 40:06Speaker 4: I literally perform all over the country and what makes
- 40:09Speaker 4: me laugh is every now and then I'll get an
- 40:11Speaker 4: Italian that's like, what are you doing?
- 40:13Speaker 6: You?
- 40:13Speaker 2: Why you?
- 40:13Speaker 3: Why are you performing?
- 40:14Speaker 4: You should be home having children, support.
- 40:18Speaker 2: The Italians on the fine who just performed for all
- 40:22Speaker 2: you people and give you a good show.
- 40:23Speaker 6: Do you know the only people that ever want free
- 40:25Speaker 6: merchant any of my performances off the boat Italian?
- 40:31Speaker 1: What do you give it?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Here?
- 40:31Speaker 3: Can you give singing lessons?
- 40:34Speaker 6: I literally performed in Boston a month ago. One woman said,
- 40:38Speaker 6: twenty dollars for a CD was too much. Twenty dollars
- 40:41Speaker 6: for CD, She goes, I'm from the old school. I said, so,
- 40:43Speaker 6: then you should know twenty dollars.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It's not a lot of my back when it costs
- 40:48Speaker 1: a lot to make the CD. For me to be told,
- 40:51Speaker 1: it's a lot.
- 40:53Speaker 3: That's very funny. What is the Italians very much like that?
- 40:56Speaker 3: Every now and then I get one.
- 40:58Speaker 2: There we go. It's crazy. But I people, it's not
- 41:00Speaker 2: that serious. And you know what, you gotta be nice
- 41:03Speaker 2: to the people on your way up because you're surely
- 41:05Speaker 2: gonna see them on your way down. And that's what
- 41:07Speaker 2: my grandma.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Always that's my theory about working with the kids here
- 41:10Speaker 1: at the radio Stame.
- 41:12Speaker 2: And there's gonna be a season for everybody too, because
- 41:15Speaker 2: especially with social media, there's gonna be there's twenty there's
- 41:19Speaker 2: a million people behind you that are coming up and
- 41:21Speaker 2: you're gonna be the flavor of the month and there's
- 41:22Speaker 2: gonna be someone else coming up behind you.
- 41:25Speaker 4: So I just don't.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I don't, you know. It's to me, I laugh because
- 41:28Speaker 2: I'm like I would say, I'm adjacent Italian adjacent to
- 41:32Speaker 2: everything right now with what I do, because I do
- 41:35Speaker 2: do videos and I do some like stuff like that.
- 41:37Speaker 2: But I'm like, dude, man, it's not that serious. Man,
- 41:41Speaker 2: it's got it's like chill.
- 41:45Speaker 3: You know, it should be enjoyable. If you're not.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Enjoying, it should be like I do, I do stuff
- 41:51Speaker 2: to tell them.
- 41:52Speaker 1: At my mom, I find those are the videos that
- 41:54Speaker 1: perform the best.
- 41:56Speaker 6: But it's just organic because she's doing something in the kitchen,
- 41:58Speaker 6: I whip my phone out.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And she's like, oh this and that it's gold.
- 42:02Speaker 3: You know, it's great.
- 42:04Speaker 6: Or if I go see like a show that's on
- 42:06Speaker 6: brand with what I do, like the Justin Time Bobby
- 42:08Speaker 6: Darren music, or if I'm performing somewhere and I'm like,
- 42:12Speaker 6: come behind the scenes with me, or if it's something
- 42:14Speaker 6: with beat stock coming up. You know, I like to
- 42:17Speaker 6: create stuff that's very center around what I do, so
- 42:20Speaker 6: it stays on brand.
- 42:21Speaker 1: It's authentic and it's real.
- 42:22Speaker 4: I was gonna say it's authentic to you. Listen, we've
- 42:24Speaker 4: all been in this business a long time. How many
- 42:26Speaker 4: people have come along the way. Managers agents have been
- 42:28Speaker 4: like you need to go down this lane, or you
- 42:30Speaker 4: need to do this, you need to sound like this,
- 42:32Speaker 4: and you're like, that's not me, that's not me.
- 42:33Speaker 3: I can try that, but wait a minute, it's going
- 42:35Speaker 3: to feel pushed, forced and.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Unnaturally, I'm gonna feel icky. Right, So, yeah, you're staying
- 42:40Speaker 4: lane and you know your land.
- 42:41Speaker 3: It feels good. When it feels good and it feels authentically,
- 42:44Speaker 3: then no one can out beeat you.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Because it's easy.
- 42:47Speaker 6: And it's funny because I mentioned off in so many
- 42:49Speaker 6: directions in my twenties, Oh will did. But I went
- 42:53Speaker 6: back to what grandma told me with the karaoke machine,
- 42:56Speaker 6: and my mother said, why don't you sing all these music?
- 43:00Speaker 1: That's where it blew up. But that's I'm playing all
- 43:03Speaker 1: these music on the radio here. It's syndicated beautiful.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Yeah, that's amazing, and I almost hope kids are kids, kids.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Are listening to that.
- 43:11Speaker 1: They are, yea, they are a lot of my students.
- 43:13Speaker 3: They like I mean, I've blasted him the house with
- 43:15Speaker 3: my son, my two year old. I'm like, yeah, man,
- 43:17Speaker 3: we want you to listen.
- 43:18Speaker 1: To its very cool.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Jersey Boys made Frankie Valley in the Four Seasons relevant.
- 43:22Speaker 6: The Beach Boys will Never go Away, you know, just
- 43:25Speaker 6: in time on Broadways bringing Connie Francis.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Back to the forefront. Pretty little baby, blown up Elvis.
- 43:30Speaker 6: You know.
- 43:31Speaker 2: So it's great, introduced it to the whole generation. Think
- 43:34Speaker 2: about that, even like the movies like they do like Queen,
- 43:37Speaker 2: Like my kids love Queen now because I mean I
- 43:40Speaker 2: always listen to what I always listen, but they love
- 43:43Speaker 2: it ever since the movie came out.
- 43:45Speaker 1: With what what you know?
- 43:47Speaker 2: What a great and the movie and oh my god,
- 43:50Speaker 2: what a great movie. Man. Nobody could have played that
- 43:53Speaker 2: but A Jackson. I'm sorry.
- 43:55Speaker 6: And let me tell you something. His brothers that are
- 43:58Speaker 6: currently touring, they're the nice guys. I've worked with them
- 44:01Speaker 6: now three times, done shows with them, and they're just
- 44:05Speaker 6: like when I first did the Molschop Cruise, which I
- 44:08Speaker 6: did that they were on back last fall, they had
- 44:12Speaker 6: said this movie was coming out and everybody was.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Like, yeah, it's a movie, It's the movies.
- 44:16Speaker 6: How they cried when they described how their nephew brought
- 44:20Speaker 6: their brother back to them. Huge and you didn't really
- 44:24Speaker 6: quite understand where they were coming from when they were
- 44:25Speaker 6: talking about it.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And this was like a private dinner I got to
- 44:29Speaker 1: have with them.
- 44:29Speaker 6: This conversation happened, and then six months later I see
- 44:32Speaker 6: the movie and I got choked up in the movie
- 44:35Speaker 6: theater and then got to see them.
- 44:36Speaker 1: They came to Staten Island.
- 44:37Speaker 6: They did a show with Saint George Theater, and I
- 44:39Speaker 6: got to be with them, and they remembered that a
- 44:42Speaker 6: conversation and I said to them. I said to Jackie,
- 44:44Speaker 6: I said, I remember how emotional you got on that
- 44:47Speaker 6: boat when we talked about it at dinner, I says,
- 44:49Speaker 6: and now I could feel your emotion when I watched it.
- 44:53Speaker 1: I saw the movie four times. That's how it was incredible.
- 44:57Speaker 2: And he embodied his own goal. And nobody nobody moves
- 45:01Speaker 2: like a Jackson. That's it. You had to be You
- 45:04Speaker 2: can mimic it, but nobody's gonna move like a Jackson.
- 45:06Speaker 2: And Jackson had to play play play at Jackson. I mean,
- 45:09Speaker 2: there was no way he embodied him. He looked like him.
- 45:13Speaker 2: I remember when I got Thriller when I was thirteen.
- 45:15Speaker 2: When I was thirteen, I remember buying, buying that album
- 45:19Speaker 2: for the first time when I was in eighth grade,
- 45:21Speaker 2: and I and when I when he did the Thriller,
- 45:23Speaker 2: when he did the Thriller, and I remember in that time,
- 45:26Speaker 2: we didn't have MTV. We had Friday night videos. Okay,
- 45:31Speaker 2: this is when just MTV was coming out, so you'd
- 45:34Speaker 2: have to wait till Friday night for the videos to
- 45:36Speaker 2: go out, and you would call home Friday night and
- 45:39Speaker 2: watch the new videos coming out. And at that time,
- 45:41Speaker 2: they were not putting the Jackson's on put on MTV
- 45:45Speaker 2: because the kid, well that's when that's when m TV
- 45:49Speaker 2: just came out. Then they weren't only putting like you know,
- 45:51Speaker 2: like all like rock bands and Queen was on. I
- 45:55Speaker 2: mean that was like things, but not not yet Michael
- 45:57Speaker 2: Jackson yet. And when that when that video came.
- 46:00Speaker 6: Out, it was like Holy ship because he didn't just
- 46:04Speaker 6: want to do a music vide to make it.
- 46:05Speaker 1: He wanted a mini film and experience.
- 46:09Speaker 2: He wanted experience Tara.
- 46:12Speaker 1: They got into price involved and you.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Know the guy he did, he did he did will
- 46:18Speaker 2: with that was his and he loved that movie. Michael Jackson.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So it was like, that was amazing that I was.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I cried through the whole movie like an idiot. I
- 46:28Speaker 2: was like, oh my god, I'm telling my kids, my
- 46:31Speaker 2: mom looks like a movie did.
- 46:33Speaker 6: I'm like, but our world has done away from appreciating
- 46:38Speaker 6: the artistry. More of the reviews online where people wanted
- 46:41Speaker 6: to see the dirt, they wanted to see the scandal.
- 46:43Speaker 1: They wanted to see all the stuff that's coming.
- 46:45Speaker 6: Unfortunately, in the second part and there is a second
- 46:47Speaker 6: part coming, his brother's.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Verified, they couldn't put his whole life.
- 46:51Speaker 1: But it's very very sad.
- 46:52Speaker 3: What what what people need to want.
- 46:54Speaker 1: To see today?
- 46:55Speaker 2: And I will never believe he did any of that.
- 46:57Speaker 2: I will never believe it in million years. I will
- 47:00Speaker 2: never believe it and that but that's another story for
- 47:02Speaker 2: another podcast.
- 47:03Speaker 6: I know.
- 47:06Speaker 2: A whole episode.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Before we go.

- 47:26Speaker 6: like the old school rain of sound, produced by some
- 47:29Speaker 6: of the people that worked on some of her original records.
- 47:32Speaker 8: One of them they're a Razor Razor and Guido go me. Yes,

- 48:09Speaker 8: then kind of like do one of those things and
- 48:12Speaker 8: and it's it's working.

- 48:38Speaker 2: the dance genre. They love it. That's what they feel good.
- 48:41Speaker 2: It's just fun music, feel good music. That's what it is.
- 48:44Speaker 8: I don't have to think about it. I can get
- 48:45Speaker 8: lost in a beat, lost on the dance floor. I
- 48:49Speaker 8: don't have to worry about my problems, like you know,
- 48:52Speaker 8: it's just it's just easy, feel good, fun times.

- 49:27Speaker 3: I was like, I was like, yes, Wheelhouse, it's hard
