  Try to get you guys a little more familiar with us who we are

  what we like what we dislike so that A you know, you kind of

  feel like, you know us a little better and also if we come

  across, you know, if we avoid certain opinions, you might

  understand where were coming from a little more.

  So I think the first thing to jump into is learning a little

  bit about our co-host here Nick so Nick why don't you tell us a

  little bit about yourself. Well firstly why do we gotta

  start with me because I'm anxious and I want you to go

  computer and basically going or never get this done until we

  discovered a beautiful little website that allows us to do

  this from our homes fantastically and I could see

  start with my hobbies and all that.

  collect shipment. I collect a lot of Records

  movies watch a lot of horror movies and I guess most

  importantly since this is a gaming podcast.

  by the way We'll get into exactly what we're going to talk

  I suppose that way it's a little bit more clear exactly what we

  want to tackle. But right now yeah, I mean, I

  just collect a lot of shit dude. I spend money when I can't spend

  money and I got the end of the month.

  I'm scrambling for my bills that I guess.

  That's my biggest Hobbies fucking scrambling to pay my

  bills and stressing my entire household out.

  That's not a hobby Nick that's just called life.

  I've made it a hobby. Let's see if you end up on the

  first of the month. I'm like, okay who's getting

  their money? You know, I just bought the new

  Call of Duty, which very good game.

  Very good game, but I haven't played it enough to be able to
• 2:50
  give an opinion yet. No, it's just it's fun.

  But um, yeah, man, I mean I started playing video games.

  I was a kid like very young. I'm sure it's so stereotypical

  of any podcast like this, but I played video games when I was a
• 3:03
  kid my Dad held me and I had a PS1 controller my hand my dad
• 3:08
  broke the PS1 controller of my head.

  So my brother did that with the PS2 controller, so I know the
• 3:13
  feels it's either you're in the same boat, dude and For real
• 3:16
  though, I mean video game is was like one of the first things I
• 3:19
  truly got to dive into as a kid unlike reading here in the comic
• 3:24
  books and shit. That's another hobby.
• 3:26
  My love comic books. But nah, man video game is like
• 3:31
  my first actual big hobby where it's like this is what I do.

  Do you wanna hang out in person why I was like, I'll see you in

  Xbox Live. I'll see you on Steam Chat or

  actually back in the day. Day, what was that chat?

  Is there a gaming chat like spy something whatever whatever?

  I mean, I just sink my teeth in the gaming right?

  So from the SNES all the way to the Xbox 360.

  I'm not gonna get super into it just yet.

  But then I found the magical world of PC gaming and building
• 4:11
  computers and playing games like quake and marathon and doom with
• 4:16
  my buddies online opposed to playing like and Actually 60
• 4:20
  Xbox Live and all that shit and that was just fantastic.

  So I guess a big hobby of mine has always been PC gaming.
• 4:27
  So that's what I'm really focusing on nowadays.

  Yeah. I mean that's a little bit about
• 4:32
  myself and I guess my favorite game to give some people more of
• 4:36
  a back story. I'm like, my favorite game would
• 4:39
  be the half-life Series. So I figured games really is
• 4:43
  just the half-life games. I think that valve has done I
• 4:47
  tend to like I have like a Affinity for like valve Steam
• 4:51
  games and all that shit. Yeah, dude.

  Yeah, that's me in a nutshell Half-Life and PC gaming and

  records and not paying my rent on time.

  That's not a hobby. But that's okay.

  Also, I would like to point out that Nick.

  He never likes to really bring it up.

  But he likes Half-Life so much. He actually has it tattooed on
• 5:15
  his hand. Yes.

  I have the Lambda symbol tattooed on my hand and I
• 5:18
  actually Little bit of a back story on that says we're talking
• 5:21
  about me right now is I was a shitty 23 year old living in my
• 5:27
  one of my friends ex-girlfriends kitchen.

  Basically Tara. Yeah.

  I mean, I know you're talking about she got a tattoo machine
• 5:37
  and I was like, yeah. Well you just like tattoo my
• 5:39
  hand dude. She was like, okay and then she
• 5:44
  very violently tattooed the Lambda symbol onto my hand.

  And I wanted to fucking kill myself because I don't think she

  knew what she was doing. Well, what do you expect my hand

  blood for like two days? Yeah because you got a tattoo in

  a fucking one-bedroom apartment kitchen.

  He was pretty cool. That's that's not pretty cool.

  It's unsanitary equated vodka. It was sanitized cleaning it

  Everything else on it looks great.

  It's like it's like it's like you got a ruined outfit and fall

  for the rest of my life. Yeah.

  even though I'm just as boring. Um, well so I met one of my

  biggest Hobbies is PC gaming. That's essentially what I do

  pretty much and all of my free time my other hobbies include

  collecting comic books. I'm a huge avatar The Last
• 7:47
  Airbender fan pretty much anything a part of that fandom.

  I absolutely love. I like playing Warhammer.
• 7:55
  I play a lot of Magic the Gathering.
• 7:57
  I also play golf and I used to play hockey and like to get back
• 8:01
  into that eventually, but that will take some time to you know,
• 8:04
  buy more equipment and all that shit.
• 8:07
  Let's see. I'm trying to think.

  I don't know if I have too many other Hobbies.

  Other than that, I like video editing.

  I like the, you know, just making like YouTube gaming
• 8:16
  Clips. I've never put like too much
• 8:19
  effort into that trying to make it all professional or anything,

  but I like doing that here and there.

  I was dreaming but for the most part, you know, my major, my
• 8:27
  major lobbying is is video gaming I started gaming, you
• 8:32
  know, just like probably everyone else on the fucking
• 8:34
  world at this point sort of gaming when I was young.

  You know, I remember having a Super Nintendo and shit like
• 8:39
  that playing games. You know, I'm there like Mario
• 8:42
  and the Ninja Turtles like our case kite side-scroller and shit
• 8:46
  like that moved into PS1 PS2 eventually got into Xbox 360 and
• 8:55
  playing Halo absolutely fell in love with Halo those all I ever
• 9:00
  did. Oh, yeah, like a Halo is one of
• 9:04
  my all-time top favorite franchises, like not many games
• 9:08
  have I like I remember specifically going over to my
• 9:11
  friend Travis is house when I didn't have an Xbox at the time
• 9:15
  and he had Halo 1 and 2 and I would literally just go over
• 9:18
  there and we would just stay up all night playing the campaign
• 9:20
  like together and we would just like take turns going back and
• 9:23
  forth. Of like that.
• 9:24
  They may deny stand in line for a loaf four or five four and
• 9:29
  come to your house for for ya. When Halo 4 came out we so we
• 9:33
  went to the midnight release at the GameStop and we were up in
• 9:36
  my living room till like what probably four or five in the
• 9:39
  morning playing Halo 4 like oh my God, this is awesome.

  Hey before fucking just just multiplayer.

  We play a little with the campaign I believe but it was
• 9:48
  really for us. It was a lot of the multiplayer
• 9:50
  that we were like enthralled with we really enjoyed.

  The multiplayer at first it kind of you know wore out as the you
• 9:58
  know interest in it died also mainly because of just you know,
• 10:01
  the lack of console playing over PC playing.

  I'm trying to think if there's anything else.

  I mean that's about it for me. Oh, I guess I guess since Halo,

  you know switch the PlayStation PlayStation.

  I went from Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 eventually and and really got
• 10:23
  Until like Call of Duty and and you know Battlefield Battlefield
• 10:26
  is actually what inspired me to build.

  My first gaming computer does I remember playing Battlefield on
• 10:31
  PS3 and how much I fucking loved that game Battlefield 3 was and
• 10:36
  will always be my shit and I remember watching like fucking
• 10:40
  YouTube highlights of like people getting these insane
• 10:42
  crazy like 20 plus killstreaks. I'm like how the fuck until I
• 10:46
  learned that it was double the play.
• 10:48
  It was double the player count or actually probably triple.

  It was it went from like L V12 264 Z or 32v 32, right?

  Yeah on PC and I was like, well, it's awesome.

  So that's when I started saving up for a PC and then shortly
• 11:04
  after I experience the absolute dumpster fire of a release.

  That was Battlefield 4 and I stayed away from battlefield for
• 11:11
  a while. It's pretty much like with any
• 11:15
  newer game coming out any release or any lie, AAA game
• 11:19
  really if you think about it. Every release is a fucking
• 11:23
  disappointment nowadays, right and it's really unfortunate and
• 11:27
  it really really fucking sucks because like you want to push
• 11:30
  for these fucking companies and you really want to still support
• 11:33
  these companies. How can you support these
• 11:37
  fucking companies when they just keep releasing trash and using
• 11:41
  us as key episodes. We're not talk about this right

  now. We're not doing this.

  I almost went on a fucking tear their though.

  I mean, it's okay if you do I'm not going to fault you for it.

  out and it's half-finished and that it's going to be fixed and

  it's going to be good come in a year or two, when's once they've

  rolled out patches and updates and it's always felt like such a

  you know new kind of Trend but then you look back at games like

  Battlefield 4, which I can't even remember exactly when that

  released. I'm probably going to look that
• 12:22
  up here in a second, but it's been going on since since then
• 12:25
  and even before then well, then you look at games like I use
• 12:29
  Halos on as you mentioned Halo look up you'll games like Halo
• 12:34
  when that released back in the day even most recent Halo and
• 12:38
  they come out with Almost no problems.

  The game is finished. And now we're playing games that
• 12:45
  are finished and that leaves me led me into what I was saying
• 12:49
  that now we're the QA testers. Like I just paid $60 for your
• 12:54
  fucking game to be the beta tester for the next.

  year's time. A year's time.

  release some DLC for it, which is the actual finished part of

  the game and say that that's the deal.

  That's the model now destiny. They're good grooming Gamers

  right now to be like that 2013 By the way, Battlefield 4 was

  released in 2013. It has now been six years.

  And they are old as fuck. It has been six years since the

  release of Battlefield 4 and on top of that that trend of and I

  like I said, it's probably been before that.

  That's just the earliest that I can remember on PC because I was

  the first launch that I was really a part of when it came to

  PC gaming. I was just brand-new into it

  then and that was an absolute dumpster fire over release.

  So the fact that that's been going on for six years is kind

  of absurd but I don't think yeah, it's our fault.

  games or or just, you know, faulty launches or you know,

  Just things that happen with like, you know, what's going on

  outside of just video games as well.

  For the most part we want to talk about video games and we

  want to keep each episode specific to you.

  No one topic or least one generalized topic, but we're

  also going to be you know, Discovering other portions of

  our little nerd culture here and that's where the Beyond portion

  of our podcast comes in where we also want to talk about, you

  know, all of some of our favorite things.

  Like I know Nick's one of Nick's all-time favorite movies is

  want to hear other people's opinions on it instead of just

  trying to like talk to someone face to face like what better

  than like for us to I mean because we do this all the time.

  We just sit around Nick's back table.

  Out in his backyard has table out there and we just sit around

  and we just talking bullshit about games for 4 hours

  literally hours. We just talk and it's like why

  not instead of just having these discussions amongst yourselves.

  Why not record them put it into the podcast format so that way
• 18:23
  we can get the discussion going with other people throughout
• 18:26
  this community, you know, we want to hear what your thoughts

  and opinions are how they vary in different from ours.

  We want to hear your guys as points in you know, your side of
• 18:36
  things and and what you like This light compared to us and

  you know, we want to we want to just have an open discussion

  with people and I felt you know, we both felt like starting a

  podcast specifically printing almost specifically for gaming
• 18:51
  centralized around gaming, you know, having a podcast like that

  with it was the best way to go about it.

  Well fuck we've been talking about doing this for years.

  I think we started talking about it when I was probably 20 if

  not, 21 so it's been like five or six years where it was

  So do list start a podcast and then one day eventually I was

  We were still lacking a lot of the It that we needed we always

  have the conversation piece and that's great.

  But now we're actually able to convey everything and really

  treat this professionally and do it.

  That's what we ultimately want. Like if this is gonna be fun,

  but we want it to be fun for everybody if you want to not

  lose sight of that and we're just excited that everybody's

  gonna be along for the ride, you know, and Eventually at what I

  know. What I would like to do is be

  able to ask people. Well, what do you want to talk

  not a big jrpg fan, but I do the research on a jrpg and talk

  really fun for me. Even though I'm not a jrpg fan

  and be fun for me to research it and then talk about it with you

  to people who might interest and then get told I'm a retard for

  having Games available back on Steam.

  I saw what I saw that post. What was that about now?

  So after what the origins launcher has been around for

  what like eight years now or something like that?

  Oh the trashcan launcher. Yeah, the the Apex Launcher as I

  No, so they're apparently going to start putting game.

  Back up on on Steam starting with Star Wars.

  So then they're going to be introducing like in putting back

  on like their other games, but then you'll they'll also

  apparently be the option to purchase the EA Game Pass

  subscription or whatever their esteem is effects and that'll

  like that's that's the first subscription ever available on

  Steam for something like that. That from from my understanding.

  So EA is going to taint steam essentially possibly.

  It's possible either that or seems just like I don't give a

  I mean it start with it doesn't seem like it really hurt

  anybody. No and the thing is is like it's

  not much different than if you were to just you know use steam

  as like the you know, the third-party launcher you could

  you can do that now like I do that with Rainbow Six Siege you

  have to open it up. Eyes open it up through Steam

  which then opens it up to you play and then I get to play the

  living room. And then yeah, it's the same

  thing. It's going to be the same thing

  with EA like I'll be able to just launch my EA games from my

  steam launcher and not have to deal with logging into origin.

  It'll just automatically do that for me type of deal.

  allows origin and and steam to cross party.
